Ohhhhh i have a BIG problem with this. Hold on I’m gonna rant.

I am an immigrant. I moved to Canada when I was less than 2 years old. I moved here with my mum, because my dad was always getting sent on business trips so he couldn’t be around very often, since he was trying to scrape up a living for our family of three (at the time).

We moved here with $2,000 CAD to our name.

That’s about $3,000 CAD today. It is not enough for two months’ rent, to put it in perspective. My mother had a job. But I was a baby, I didn’t want my mum to leave me alone, and I was too young for primary schools here. They wouldn’t take any child under 3. My mum quit her job and put all of her time towards looking for a primary school that would keep me busy until I could start regular school. Keep in mind I was barely 2.

Here’s where the grandparent bit comes in. I am the first grandchild on my mother’s side, so my grandparents on her side had a huge hand in raising me, because my dad couldn’t be around as often as he’d liked. Raising baby me was stressful, because babies are difficult, but even more so because we are an immigrant family. We don’t have footholds here. Our connections were so limited. My grand aunt and grand uncle were here too, and thank god for that, because my mum was under so much stress of having baby me, moving to a new country and trying to establish us right after 9/11 happened, and not having her husband around. I need you to imagine her stress.

I genuinely don’t think kids these days know how fucking hard it is to raise a child without help. My mum had help. My grandparents were a formative force in my life, my grandfather lives with us now because my grandmother has passed. They were the ones who took care of me when my parents needed a break. And I was a difficult kid, they absolutely needed breaks. When my sister was born it was because of my grandparents that my mum didn’t have multiple breakdowns about the process. Moving a year old baby from India to Canada is not as easy as you think it is. It is because of my grandparents that this was possible, that we are as established as we are now.

I genuinely cannot get over the entitlement of kids these days. Who gave you the right to judge others’ family planning? If you choose to have children, I hope you understand.

Those Constantine is Danny's dad and sold his kid soul because he thought he'd actually never have one and Danny is now the Ghost King so his soul claims are invalid AUs but learns he's not Constantine only kid (after a while Constantine honestly 100% thought he'd never have kids and never bothered with a 1st born clause when making deals, maybe some annoyed deity or powerful magic user made Constantine think he can't have kids anymore just to get back at the conman) and now doing everything in his Kingly power to save his half-siblings (can be other teens from other shows or movies or cartoons etc etc) because Danny is the oldest of them and really really wants to punch his biodad for making such a huge mess he has to deal with but Danny does get to meet and protect his younger Half-siblings.

Then comes the day he's celebrating one of his half-sibs birthday with all the others when he's suddenly summoned out of the blue and meets not just the Justice League but his, and his half-sibs, no good soul selling biodad.

just got kicked out of the best panhandling spot i've ever had by the mcdonalds management due to a customer complaint. all i got today so far is one dollar.

a dozen people are kind and generous to me every day, and it takes just one asshole to ruin the whole thing.

i'm so tired of moving around and avoiding the wave of stigma and hatred against homeless people. i'm just trying to survive out here, man. cops and other homeless people drove me out of the previous spot, and now i don't know where i'm gonna go.

i'm gonna have to spend the day driving around and finding a new spot to sleep and get my cash, but first i need some gas. the prices went up 10 cents recently too.

ik it's just homophobia at work, but something that's always puzzled + bugged me is when fans can't apply the real-life complexities of romance, sexuality, and identity to fictional romance. I'll see a well-thought out analysis of how Ochako or Izuku are great examples of comphet, for example, and all of a sudden here comes a pack of dudebros shouting "MHA fans don't know how to read OCHAKO CANONICALLY LIKES MEN! IZUKU BLUSHES AROUND GIRLS! THEY ARE STRAIGHT!" from the rooftops....like.....okay? Should we clap? It's the same spirit that drives antis to rush to social media to say "bkdk and togachako are dead I prayed for times like these" instead of just enjoying their own ship 💀

It's "sexuality can be fluid and sometimes your understanding of the attraction you experience (or don't) changes over time and that's okay!" Unless, of course, you're talking about [insert character here who must be straight because it kinda seemed like it in these three panels from four years ago~] Like oh brother, give it a rest.

Again, there's nothing wrong w/ disagreeing with headcanons like these!! You might think, "well, I actually think Ochako's crush on Izuku is genuine and that they would make a cute couple!" That's great, love! Ship to your heart's content! My issue is when people act like any interpretations aside from heterosexuality are insane and the product of some inability to understand the source material. Especially when it doesn't affect your individual hcs or enjoyment of the series at all? And especially when most of these headcanons often come from actual queer fans seeing their experiences in these characters' journeys.

The most impressive part of the cultist simulator/book of hours universe is the amount of insane theological discourse all these different groups were having, genuinely fascinating to read about the different ways the Hours were worshipped. It's also impressive because this has meta-game consequences to where I will see an in game piece of lore and go "ah no i disagree with that interpretation of the solar hours I don't think the Door-In-The-Eye can be counted among them" and I'll realize I've fallen for the trap.

oh goodness i was not in a good mood but this made me feel much better thank you

it's a glitch, it has to be a glitch, there's no other explanation for it! you've scoured the internet, watched countless videos, even uninstalled and reinstalled the game multiple times- but nothing could explain why, out of all characters, Foul Legacy had spontaneously become playable and was currently sitting in your party, exactly where your Childe should be. to his credit, he was INCREDIBLY strong, easily sweeping any bosses and enemies you met along the way, but the fact remains that he's not a playable character in the first place! you're worried that your game is being hacked in some way, but when nothing else happens for a few days, well... you can't deny that it was kind of fun to have a character no one else had, and you've always been fond of Childe's Foul Legacy form- you refuse to admit to spending at least half an hour just watching him on screen gushing about how cute he was (he even has his own idle animations!!)

on his end, in the digital world of Teyvat, Foul Legacy is absolutely thrilled that you haven't reacted too badly to his presence- he feared you would hate him for occasionally using Childe's place for himself- he always gives it back afterwards, he promises! Legacy works hard to destroy any enemies in your path, silently trilling in happiness whenever you compliment him. since he's not much in the way of words, he curls up into a comfy Abyss moth ball if you ever put him in your teapot instead of simply standing there, perking up and fluttering his wings when you approach him. and as he promised, he ALWAYS gives Childe back his body at the end of the day- the Harbinger's a little confused and disoriented, but you always greet him enthusiastically when you log in the next day, so he's not really complaining

btw i had another g/t dream, but like all my g/t dreams, it was awesome for some NPC and it SUCKED for me

so some random guy and I were in this blue jungle, where all the trees glowed neon and some magical shit was going on in this island. eventually we come across a clearing, and from there we see this giant kaiju, obviously intelligent, but in pain. as the kaiju moved around, it was so big it made the entire forest shake, but I spotted a glowing sword in his thigh that he couldn’t get to. I tell my companion to stay put, and haul ass over to the giant, and begin climbing up it’s scaley skin. I’m dozens and dozens of feet in the air, trying to wrestle this huge sword from his hip, while he’s still moving around in pain. eventually I tug the sword free, barely managing to keep my hold on the giant.

the giant stops writhing, exhaling in relief, eyes landing down on my companion still in the clearing. the kaiju leans down, and grabs up my companion in a fist. my companion is like, the size of a penny to this giant. and the giant draws him close, and presses the most gentle kiss onto my companion, a gesture of thanks, before setting him down.

the motion to give said kiss sent me plummeting from his hip and to my death.
