☆ introducing... pornstar!chris
chris was never shy about his profession... not at all, really. truthfully, he only stayed quiet about it as to not make other people uncomfortable. but of course, as soon as he was in front of the right crowd, and the questions started coming, it was like they'd never stop. "nah— no, i don't do all that fake shit," he answered, waving off his friend as he chuckled.
everyone looked to him as they sat around on the couches in your living room, some with wonder on their faces, others with confusion. you were skeptical, to say the least. "y'know what i mean, with those plots and all," chris continued on, "no one even likes that anymore. they wanna see real, unscripted fucking. all the dirty talking and moans, they're just not enjoyable if it's all for show."
"yeah, but i'm sure it's all played out anyways," you were quick to speak up, not thinking too much of the comment you'd made. though the words were simple in your mind, they immediately caused everyone's attention to turn to you, as if you'd told this something no one could've ever possibly thought up.
chris shook his head, grin unwavering. "nah, i scrap anything that seems even remotely forced."
"but porn's always forced, everyone knows that," you quipped, completely disregarding chris' 'professional' opinion.
"y'think so?"
the smirk that began to tug at his slips only seemed to further build the tension that had already started hanging in the air. "yeah," you stated bluntly, the way you crossed your arms gave you a snobbish look, but you didn't care. "i mean, seriously, all those loud moans and screaming and shit... nobody's really that loud, no matter how good it is. and there's just no way chicks are, like, squirting and shaking all the time— i wouldn't even be surprised if squirting wasn't even real."
by this time, chris had shifted comfortably in his seat on your couch, crossing his arms like you had and watching you with an almost unreadable intense stare. he wasn't offended by what you were saying, no. rather, he was curious. he could be way off, but something told him you didn't really know much of what you were talking about.
━━★
"mm-mm, baby, don't go all quiet on me now," chris hissed as his hips snapped to meet yours, his hand reaching to lift your chin and force you to look at him.
"c- chris!" you practically shrieked, hands reaching to claw at his biceps as your back bowed slightly off of your couch, eyes closed and mouth making a pouty little 'o' shape that had chris' ego blowing up his head.
the way his large length filled you up more than you ever had before, threatening to hit your cervix with each thrust had tears brimming at your waterline. your world was being rocked, in every sense of the word, and it was all his fault. he'd decided it was time to change your outlook on everything on one random night over a silly comment you'd made hours prior. "how loud could chicks 'never be'? was it -" he cut off his sentence to pull all the way back and snap his hips as hard as he possibly could, eliciting a loud mewl from you that echoed through your house, "that loud?"
you immediately clung to him, legs wrapping around his torso and arms throwing themselves around his neck. he breathed harshly and groaned in your ear, head dipping to practically nuzzle itself in between your neck and your shoulder for a moment.
chris couldn't help chuckle when he heard you pleading to him, mumbling on about how he was too big, and that you couldn't finish like this. but still, when he slowed down for you, you found yourself whining at the loss of friction, writhing beneath him as he lifted his head to make eye contact with the camera set up on your coffee table. "wait! wait, m'not—wait, no, ke- keep doing that," you rambled on, practically unable to control the babble falling from your lips.
so when you finally decided you were fully satisfied with what he was doing (as if you hadn't already been before), chris' eyebrow raised, realizing he'd really found it now; that gummy sweet spot that made your eyes roll back.
and he shot the lens focused on him a cocky gin before diving all the way back in, allowing his head to drop on your shoulder once more

Pairing: Roboute Guilliman x FemReader
Warning: things get spicy, though nothing explicit
Description: The reader struggles with insecurity and low self esteem, while Guilliman struggles with... other things.
Oh boy, this is definitely the spiciest thing I've ever written. Be gentle, please!
“Roboute, ah….”
You reached up to him from your place sprawled atop his desk. Data slates and parchment scattered in every direction as you writhed. A sensual dance, just for him.
He realized he’d never truly appreciated the aesthetic beauty of the female form before now. Starlight and candlelight competed to see which could add the loveliest glow to your skin. Your bare skin, on display for all to see.
No. Not all. Just him. No one else would ever see you this way. He’d slaughter anyone who-
“Roboute?”
Guilliman blinked and the fantasy faded.
You sat in a plush chair he’d recently placed in his office, legs tucked up beneath you, a book in your hands. The very picture of innocence.
Guilt gnawed at him.
“Yes, my dear?”
“I’ve finished this one.” You tapped the book’s cover. “With your permission, I’d like to return to the library- pardon, the librarium, for another.”
He smiled. “You grow more fluent in High Gothic by the day.”
You glanced away. “I shudder to think how I must have sounded when I first arrived. It’s difficult to master pronunciation when one has only ever read the words.”
He returned to the parchment before him, signing his name for the two-hundred-and-thirty-second time that morning. “Nonsense. Your accent was, and is, utterly charming.”
Especially when you cry my name as I suck bruises into your delicate- by the Throne! Get a hold of yourself, man!
“You’re kind to say so.”
Something in your tone gave him pause. He straightened, observing you more intently. The muscles around your mouth tightened, turning your smile wooden. Your shoulders hunched and you gazed at the floor. He realized you resembled nothing less than a serf expecting a scolding.
But before he could comment your mood shifted once again, and you looked as relaxed and happy as before. “As I was asking, may I return to the librarium?”
“Of course. And you need not constantly ask my permission. I have given instructions for that particular librarium to be open to your access code at all hours.”
Your delighted gasp made his hearts glow.
“Thank you, Roboute! I’ve only just finished the first volume of Epatheon’s Chronicles of Macragge and the historitors suggested I read all six before moving on to the history of wider Ultramar….”
Guilliman’s worries faded as he absorbed your chatter. A passing cloud, nothing more. He braced himself to return to the lonely monotony of Imperial paperwork when a particularly excited gesture sent your book tumbling to the floor.
“Oh, my apologies!”
Then you bent… over….
And he was suddenly profoundly grateful to be safely concealed behind his massive desk.
Throne, damn it.
***
“Thank you, Lord Tarchus.” You smiled up at the Ultramarine assigned to escort you that day, praying you’d gotten his name right.
The helmeted head inclined slightly in response.
As you started toward one of the only other areas you felt familiar with on this massive ship, he fell into step behind you.
You thought you’d successfully banished the looming sense of dread. But, for the second time that day, tension tightened a leaden fist around your stomach. You kept your gaze focused straight ahead, not daring to meet the eyes of the people you passed. A diplomat’s mask came in useful at times like these.
But it could not shield you from your own thoughts.
“What presumption to think you deserve this kind of attention, girl.” Grandmother’s voice pierced your defenses. “How full of justified resentment this warrior must be for wasting his time on you. Who do you think you are?”
Your heart raced as you walked faster. You needed to get your book, then get out of these halls and back where you belonged. Tucked quietly into a corner of Roboute’s office where you’d be no bother to anyone.
Where you’d be with him. With his gentle eyes and strong hands. Hands that felt so good when they pressed you to a massive chest rippling with muscle to put the gods of antiquity to shame. You’d felt them through his tunic on the night he kissed you breathless. When his touch sent molten liquid boiling straight between your-
A gauntleted hand landed on your shoulder. “This door… my lady.”
“Oh!” Heat rushed to your face as you realized you’d walked straight past the librarium entrance. “Y-yes. Thank you. I won’t be long.”
Your shoulders sank as you entered your code and stepped into the room. What right had you to think such thoughts? Roboute hadn’t so much as touched you since carrying you to your room after the… incident. He’d been polite, chivalrous, and honorable. He spoke to you like a dear friend. You should be more than satisfied.
But you remembered hunger in his eyes the night he proposed. Was it selfish of you to want just a glimpse of that again?
Grandmother’s laugh, half mocking half disgusted, echoed in your ears.
“Pathetic child. The man finally came to his senses and realized the truth: you’re simply not worth the effort.”
***
A million things should have occupied the Lord Regent’s mind. Mountains of paperwork, endless strategies to compile, not to mention the meeting with Calgar and the Ultramarine Captains in an hour’s time. He’d thought having you near would help him focus.
A foolish assumption.
Your face greeted him as you emerged from your quarters each morning. You took your meals with him, spent most of your waking hours reading in the chair he’d provided for you. And during his few free moments, or when the paperwork in front of him required less than his full attention, the two of you conversed.
He told you much of Ultramar and Macragge, his home. He recounted stories of his childhood and parents that he hadn’t had the heart to dwell upon since his reawakening. Bittersweet memories, but made more sweet by your sympathetic ear.
The sheer relief of talking to an outsider did more to brighten the shadows of despair encompassing him than anything else in the past decade. Your mind was bright and pure, unshackled by superstition or callous cruelty. Your hands unstained by blood. You did not fear asking questions, nor did he fear telling you the truth. Every moment spent in your presence was a gift….
…and a torment.
Guilliman knew he’d been staring at your empty chair for minutes now. Breathing deeply, he tasted your scent upon the air, and he knew if he approached he’d be able to feel your warmth on the fabric.
He’d felt your warmth before, and regretted it. Because now he knew what you felt like, what you sounded like, what you tasted like.
Throne, I ache for her.
Lust had never been a factor in his life. His accelerated maturity had bypassed the riotous desire of the average adolescent, nor had his brothers ever expressed experiencing such.
Well, Russ perhaps.
He scowled. He was no slobbering Space Wolf. And yet.
You gasped when he took you in his arms. He heard your single heart beating wildly within your chest and the sound maddened him. It took so little effort to push you to the polished floor. Your clothing came apart like parchment in his hands.
He loomed above you, higher thought lost to his most primal instincts. You submitted eagerly, turning onto your front and presenting yourself to him. Only ever to him. He snarled in satisfaction as he mounted you like a feral-
“No!” Data slates clattered to the floor as he stood, shaking the fantasy from his head.
You were precious and fragile. Such actions would only frighten you, and the idea of you fearing him was unbearable. For you, he would stifle these perverse desires.
Even if it meant denying himself the slightest touch.
His vox crackled to life. “My Lord? Is all well?”
Guilliman took a moment to regulate his panting breaths. “All is well, Cato.”
“I thought I heard-”
“All is well, Cato.”
A brief pause, then. “The Captains are already assembling in the comm center. Would you like me to escort you to your armoring station?”
At least his armor would hide certain biological functions he found it increasingly difficult to control.
***
“Stupid female.”
For a brief moment you thought you’d somehow manifested your thoughts into reality. Then your eyes adjusted to the soft candleglow, and you saw you were not alone in the librarium.
A Mechanicus techpriest stood next to one of the writing tables, looming over a prostrated serf. You fought an instinctive grimace at the mass of metal augmentations and scar tissue that seemed to make up the majority of the Imperium’s cyborg scientists.
A necessary evil, Roboute had called them.
But as you watched the techpriest reach down and grasp the serf’s lower jaw in his claw of a hand, you certainly felt this one was more evil than necessary.
An image of Lord O’Rourke threatening to end the lives of thousands of innocents flashed through your mind like lightning. The sudden rage that had prompted you to hurl yourself at him surged in your veins again.
“Unhand her at once!”
The priest looked up with a hiss and clatter, and this time you didn’t bother hiding your scowl of disgust as you marched toward him.
“I said unhand her!”
“Noncompliance.” Its voice screeched. “Additional human female does not equal authority figure.”
You grasped the metal wrist still crushing the serf’s jaw. “I am the Lord Regent’s betrothed. And I command-”
“Irrelevant data. Betrothed does not equal authority-”
“Do not interrupt me.” You felt…fierce. “I may not have authority over you now. But one day I will. And you know what I do have?”
You stared, unflinching, into its corroded ruin of a face. “A very good memory.”
The techpriest whirred and buzzed for a moment. Then the metal hand unlocked and withdrew. You released its wrist, stepping between it and the serf.
“Compliance.” It hissed.
“Thank you. Get out.”
“Compliance.”
You didn’t move from your place sheltering the serf until the priest shambled its way through the librarium door. Then you bent double, panting as the adrenaline rush faded.
“My…my lady?”
You turned to the serf, a young woman, still kneeling on the hard floor. Blood welled from a scratch along one cheekbone. Glancing around at the shelves and tables, you saw nothing with which to clean the wound, not unless you chose to rip a page out of one of the books. Instead, you tore a strip from your sleeve.
The woman gasped. “Oh no, my lady!”
“It’s only cloth.” Kneeling down, you pressed it to the woman’s cheek. “That brute ought to be punished.”
“It was my fault.” The woman gestured to the bucket of cleaning supplies tipped on its side next to her. “I was clumsy and jostled him. I deserved-”
Another lightning-flash of memory. A younger you, exhausted from studying all night, stumbling into your tutor as you tried to rise from your desk. The blows that followed.
“You did not deserve that.” You recognized the dark circles underneath the woman’s eyes. “How long since you last slept?”
“I don’t know.” The woman lifted her chin. “I am not complaining, my lady. My sister- I mean, the other serf assigned to this librarium, just gave birth. I am more than willing to take her burden on my shoulders.”
The scratch stopped bleeding, and you removed the cloth from her cheek. “That’s very good of you. May I know your name?”
“My name? I- of course, my lady. I am called Hestia.”
“Well, Hestia, this librarium looks fairly sturdy. I doubt it will crumble to dust if you take a day-cycle to rest. And if anyone questions you,” you felt some of that fierceness return, “refer them to me.”
***
“...refer them to me.”
The servo-skull finished its projected recording and returned to hover over the techpriest’s shoulder. Guilliman steepled his fingers in front of his face.
“Incident equals gross overstep.” The Magus squawked.
“I see.”
“Chastisement recommended!”
“Hmm.” Guilliman turned to the serf at his elbow. “Request the lady’s presence in my office, Marcus.”
The man bowed and jogged off, but not before Guilliman noticed him shoot a glare toward the techpriest.
Guilliman returned to examining a data slate on his desk, pointedly ignoring the Magus. In his mind, the scene of you defying the techpriest played over and over again. The grainy projection couldn’t mask the imperious lift of your chin, or the fierce look in your eye. Neither did it hide the gentleness with which you tended the serf woman’s wound.
Judging from Marcus’s reaction, Guilliman had no doubt the story already circulated through the serf quarters.
If they liked you before, they adore you now.
A few minutes later, the door opened and Marcus entered with a flourish. “May I present….”
He gave your name and titles with respect bordering on reverence. Guilliman watched your face redden and felt a surge of empathy as he stood and beckoned you to his side. Your smile froze when you noticed the irate Magus.
You rushed to him. “Roboute, I can explain-”
“No need, my dear.” For the first time in days, he touched you, taking your hand in his.
The softness of your skin, and the way his hand swallowed yours ignited a heat deep in the pit of his stomach. He fought the wild urge to drag you up and onto his lap.
Instead, he addressed the Magus. “You are correct that my betrothed had no authority to act as she did.” He felt you tense, and gently squeezed your hand. “This is a matter I intend to rectify.”
Pulling a foot-thick stack of parchment from the pile on his desk, he handed it to Marcus. “This is an order giving this lady, my future consort, authority upon The Macragge’s Honor. She may command any person on this ship only excepting the Mechanics ArchMagi and the highest ranking Ultramarines.”
There were other caveats and exceptions of course, not to mention an extensive list of extenuating circumstances. He was nothing if not thorough.
“See that it is posted and transmitted throughout this vessel.”
The serf’s eyes shone as he clutched the parchment to his chest, bowed lower than before, and fairly sprinted from the room.
The Magus looked as though he was about to start venting steam.
“You are dismissed.” Guilliman fixed the techpriest with a look he’d been told could freeze promethium. “See your underlings take greater care with the serfs, Magus. Any reported abuse will be severely punished.”
“Compliance. My Lord.”
As soon as the door hissed closed behind the Magus, you gripped his hand with both of yours. “Roboute, please don’t do this.”
He stared down at you, at the panic in your eyes. Before he could speak you rambled on.
“I-I can’t command anyone. I didn’t mean to suggest I could, or wanted to. I don’t deserve this kind of power! I’m so, so sorry, but-”
You tried to draw away, but he tightened his grip on your hand. All your interactions up to this point replayed in his mind, and one commonality became blindingly clear.
“Why do you think so little of yourself?”
You twisted in his grip, eyes darting about like a captured prey animal. “I’m sorry, I…I….”
“Stop apologizing.” Against all the stalwart promises he’d made himself, he drew you closer. “What has happened to you that you cannot recognize the greatness I see within you?”
“N-no, I’m not-”
“Have I done or said something to make you think yourself unworthy?”
“No! At least….”
When tears filled your eyes he felt pain worse than Fulgrim’s blade across his throat. He cupped your face in his hands.
“Tell me what I have done that I may rectify it.”
He watched you squeeze your eyes shut and lean into him. “Y-you haven’t touched me in so long. I thought, I thought you didn’t…,” your voice died away.
If the Emperor Himself had suddenly marched into his office and punched him in the jaw Guilliman could not have been more stunned. All the times he fantasized about you, all the nights he stroked himself to completion to thoughts of you, all the moments he barely held himself back…!
“Damn it all to the Warp!”
***
Roboute’s sudden bellow nearly deafened you. You found yourself picked up by your hips and tossed atop his desk. Writing implements and documents of what you were certain was vital importance scattered in all directions. But the look in the eyes of the giant leaning over you said he could care less.
“Do you remember my words the night I came to your chambers?”
By the Light and the Void, that growl….
“Yes.” You whispered.
“Tell me.”
“Y-you, you said….”
His face pressed close to yours, teeth bared. “Tell. Me.”
The sheer force of a Primarch’s lust overwhelmed you. And yet you realized you’d willingly get on your hands and knees to beg for more.
“You said you wanted me.”
His mouth crashed into yours, stealing the very air from your lungs. After a blissful eternity you felt him grasp your thighs and yelped as he flipped you onto your front, your legs dangling off the side of his desk. Then his fingers sank into your hips and he pressed against your rear.
“Ah, Roboute!”
“Do you feel that?” You heard snarling frustration in his voice. “Do you feel how badly I desire you?” A forearm the thickness of your waist slammed into the desk above your head. “I have never felt like this about anyone in my long life. The things I want to do to you, woman.”
You felt his chest expanding and contracting against your back. You heard his heaving pants.
Doubt vanished.
“I love you, Roboute!”
He groaned. Again, he turned you and you stared up into his eyes. The hunger remained, but tempered now by something far sweeter. You reached for him and he let you pull his head into your neck.
He whispered against your skin. “I swore not to take you until I could do so as your husband. And I stand by that oath. But never again doubt my desire for you, my Hearts.”
Relief. Sheer relief like the removal of a burden you hadn’t known you’d been carrying.
“Never again.”
He pulled back to look you in the face. “And stop doubting your worth.”
A harder request. “I…I will try, Roboute. For you.”
He rested his forehead against yours. “Do it for your own sake, my love. You are far more than you-”
The door opened and the outraged voice of none other than Cato Sicarius spoke. “Lord Guilliman! I just read your latest proclamation and I felt it my duty to voice severe concerns-”
“GET OUT.”
You heard the hasty retreat of armored boots and burst into giggles. Roboute looked down at you, then his rumbling chuckles joined yours.
You laughed in each other’s arms, and all was perfect.

a special day | l.n.
synopsis: in which you made sure to make Lando’s birthday a special day for him
a/n: i know this is a day late, but, for some reason, tumblr decided to delete my entire fic before i could hit post and i had to rewrite it :]]]]]
my masterlist
The evening was alive with a golden sunset casting warm light across Monaco’s harbor. The luxurious apartment you shared with Lando was transformed into a cozy, intimate space, complete with soft string lights and the subtle scent of his favorite candles. You had spent the entire day preparing for this moment—his birthday celebration, just the two of you.
Lando was out, finishing up a last-minute appearance at an event, which gave you just enough time to finalize every detail. The table was set with his favorite foods, and a small, personalized birthday cake sat in the center, decorated with checkered flags and the number “25” written boldly in icing.
You heard the familiar rumble of an engine approaching. Peering out the window, you saw Lando’s sleek car pull into the driveway. A smile spread across your face as you adjusted your dress and took a deep breath, anticipation bubbling up inside you.
The door opened, and there he stood, slightly tired but with a mischievous glint in his eyes. His hair was tousled from a day of events, but when his gaze landed on you, a look of surprise and adoration replaced any trace of fatigue.
“Happy birthday, Lando,” you said, stepping toward him with a playful grin.
His eyes softened as he walked over and wrapped you in a warm embrace.
“You did all this?” he whispered, his voice full of appreciation as he glanced around at the glowing room.
“Of course,” you replied, pulling back to see his face. “You only turn 25 once, and I wanted to make sure it was special.”
Lando’s smile was genuine, and a hint of emotion glistened in his blue eyes.
“You’re amazing, you know that?”
The two of you sat down to eat, laughter and stories filling the room as you recounted memories from the past year—his race wins, the spontaneous road trips, and the quiet, lazy mornings spent together. He leaned forward, resting his chin on his hand, completely engrossed in listening to you speak, a look of pure happiness radiating from him.
When the cake came out, Lando’s expression lit up like a kid’s. You sang a playful rendition of “Happy Birthday,” earning a light blush on his cheeks. He blew out the candles with a wish he kept secret, though the way he looked at you suggested it had something to do with the future you were building together.
After dinner, you led him out to the balcony, where a pair of plush chairs awaited. The night was cool, and the stars above sparkled like diamonds scattered across velvet. Lando pulled you close as the two of you sat down, the city below humming with distant life.
“Best birthday ever,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to your temple. The warmth of his words, paired with the contented silence that followed, made the moment feel infinite.
Wrapped up in Lando’s embrace, you felt the world around you fade as if it was just the two of you against the backdrop of the glittering sky.
“So,” you said softly, tilting your head up to look at him, “what was your wish?”
A playful smirk curved on his lips as he looked down at you, his eyes dancing with mischief.
“If I tell you, it won’t come true, right?” he teased.
You rolled your eyes with a light laugh, the sound making his smile broaden.
“Fine, keep your secrets,” you said, poking his side, earning a soft chuckle from him.
The sound of his laughter was warm and rich, something you could never get enough of.
“Alright, alright,” he conceded after a moment, brushing a stray hair away from your face. “I wished for more moments like this. More nights with you, more… us.”
The sincerity in his voice melted your heart. The normally lighthearted and playful Lando had a deeper, more thoughtful side that he shared only with you. It was in these moments that you felt the full weight of what your relationship meant.
“I think that’s a wish I can make come true,” you whispered, leaning in until your noses brushed.
He closed the distance, capturing your lips in a slow, tender kiss that spoke volumes. The world seemed to stop as you felt the warmth of his hand cupping your cheek and the soft press of his mouth against yours. It was as if he was savoring every second, making a memory of it.
When you broke apart, you both sat there for a while, talking about dreams and plans for the future. He spoke about his racing goals, the adventures he wanted to have, and even mentioned places he wanted to visit with you—places neither of you had been before. The idea of seeing the world together, one race and road trip at a time, filled you both with excitement.
“Let’s make a promise,” Lando said suddenly, his eyes gleaming with that determined spark he often wore on race day. “No matter where life takes us, we’ll always make time for this—time for us.”
You nodded, feeling a surge of affection wash over you. “Deal,” you agreed, linking your pinky with his. The gesture was light, almost silly, but in that moment, it felt like an unbreakable bond.
When the night deepened and the city grew quieter, Lando pulled you inside. The warmth of the apartment embraced you as you settled on the couch, a playlist of his favorite songs humming in the background. You sat curled up together, your head resting on his chest as his fingers absentmindedly traced patterns on your arm.
“This has been perfect,” he said, breaking the comfortable silence.
“It’s not over yet,” you said, tilting your head to meet his gaze.
“Oh? What more do you have planned?” he asked with mock surprise, though his eyes lit up with curiosity.
You reached behind the couch and pulled out a small, neatly wrapped gift. His eyebrows rose as he took it from you, the corners of his mouth turning up in anticipation. Carefully, he unwrapped it to reveal a framed picture of the two of you at his most recent race win, your arms wrapped around each other and wide smiles on both your faces.
“I wanted you to have this,” you said. “A reminder that I’m always going to be your biggest fan, on and off the track.”
Lando’s eyes softened as he looked at the picture, then back at you. Without a word, he leaned in and kissed you again, this time with a mixture of gratitude and love that made your heart skip a beat.
“Thank you,” he murmured, resting his forehead against yours. “For everything.”
♡♡♡♡♡
As the night stretched on, the conversation shifted from lighthearted memories to dreams and ambitions, filling the room with a sense of hope and excitement. Lando leaned back, eyes fixed on the ceiling as if picturing the future he was about to describe.
“I know racing will always be a huge part of my life,” he started, his voice thoughtful. “But sometimes I think about what comes after that, you know? When the cheers die down, and it’s just me… and hopefully, you,” he added with a grin that made your heart flutter.
“I’d love to travel more,” he continued. “Not just for races, but to explore places at our own pace—renting a camper van and driving through New Zealand or hiking the trails in Patagonia. Just us, no pressure, no schedules. What do you think?” His eyes flickered with excitement as he turned to you.
“I think that sounds perfect,” you said, smiling at the thought.
The idea of adventure with Lando, where you’d trade high-speed circuits for winding roads and campfires, felt like a dream. “And when we’re tired of wandering, maybe we find a quiet spot to call home.”
Lando’s gaze softened.
“Exactly. I imagine a house overlooking the water, maybe here or somewhere new. We’d have a big garage filled with old project cars we’d work on together. And a cozy kitchen where you’d try out recipes and I’d ‘help’ by taste-testing everything,” he added, laughter in his voice.
“Only if you promise not to distract me too much,” you joked, nudging him playfully.
“Deal,” he said, squeezing your hand. “And… if we’re talking long-term, I wouldn’t mind the idea of a family someday.” His tone grew quieter, more serious, as if testing the waters of this shared dream.
The thought sent a warm shiver through you, an image forming of little feet running through the house, laughter echoing in sunlit rooms.
You felt your breath catch at the idea.
“Really?” you asked, eyes searching his face.
“Yeah,” he nodded, eyes meeting yours with a sincerity that made you believe every word. “Not right away, of course. But down the line, when we’re ready… it feels right. I want the whole package: the chaos, the little moments, teaching them to race on tiny go-karts in the backyard,” he said, the vision making him chuckle.
The two of you fell into an easy silence, the future rolling out before you like a road just waiting to be driven. It was exhilarating and comforting at the same time.
“And when we’re not busy being the coolest parents around,” you added, resting your head on his shoulder, “we’ll still find time for things like this. Just us, under the stars, no matter where we are.”
Lando kissed the top of your head, a contented sigh escaping his lips.
“That’s all I need, really. Racing might be my first love, but you’re my forever one.”
The words hung between you, heavy with promise. You tilted your head up, your eyes locking onto his with a smile that mirrored his own. It was in moments like this that you knew, without a doubt, that your paths were intertwined—not just for now but for every tomorrow that followed.

You know, historically I did most of my writing as random ficlets. Maybe that is why these are a bit easier? Either way, feeling out characterizations, these are fun to do!
--
"What are you doing?"
Ingo didn't move from where he was looking down at the brown…circles in front of him. "Baking," he said. He didn't have to look to sense Emmet's stare. "…Theoretically," he conceded with a sigh.
Emmet poked one of the circles. It dented under his finger, but bounced back into shape instantly. "It doesn't look bad," he said. He poked the circle again, fascinated at its texture.
"While that means a lot coming from you, unfortunately the taste leaves much to be desired." Ingo's frown pulled deeper. "They taste bad. I don't understand how the same ingredients can come out so wrong!"
Emmet leaned over so he could look Ingo in the face. His smile had a hint of teasing humor in it. "It looks like you tried to bake donuts?"
Ingo wasn't listening. "I have looked at dozens of recipes! I measured everything exactly so." He gestured ferociously toward the pile of used dishes soaking in the sink. "Baking is supposed to be easy." He threw his hands up, exasperation written in every line of his body. "You merely need to follow the directions, with the exact measurements. I thought I could do this!"
"Hmmmmm," Emmet drawled, looking entirely unsympathetic. "Why did you bake them? Aren't donuts fried?"
Ingo grimaced, half turned away as if that would save him from his brother's attention. "…I merely wanted it to be a bit…healthier."
"Uh huh," Emmet said. "And how may donuts have you snuck behind my back this week?"
"That is NOT why I did it!" Ingo protested loudly.
Emmet cackled, covering his ears dramatically from the sudden volume. "That is a confession if ever I heard one!"
All Ingo could do was splutter protests that fell on deaf ears. Emmet was far too delighted in catching Ingo out on his sweet tooth. Why were younger brothers so infuriating?
"If you are quite finished," Ingo said stiffly, "I have to clean up this mess." Emmet's smile still reached from ear to ear, his face rosy from his laughter. He reached out to poke one of the donuts again, and Ingo swatted at his hand. "Stop that! I need to wrap them properly, and I don't need your fingerprints all over them."
"Wrap them?" Emmet asked, eyeing Ingo as he picked up the plate of pastries. "Ingo, you are not planning on eating those?"
"Of course I am," Ingo sighed. "Just because they aren't ideal, doesn't mean I should waste food."
"Oh no you don't." Emmet swiped the plate of 'donuts' from Ingo's hand. "This is now a treat for Garbador!"
"But—" Ingo tried to protest.
"Nope!" Emmet popped the word in his mouth. "You can learn from your mistake. You do not need to force yourself to suffer because of it."
"Emmet…" Ingo would deny to his dying day the whine in his voice. "All I have learned is that donuts should not be baked!"
Emmet gave a satisfied nod. "And that is a valuable lesson."
They stared at each other silently. Then Ingo lunged, and Emmet turned and fled out the kitchen before Ingo could catch him.
"Emmet!" Ingo bellowed, charging recklessly after his brother.
"Garbador! I have a treat! Quick!" Emmet hollered, thumping against the walls as he took corners at speed. The real miracle of the day was the fact that he kept all of the donuts on the plate. At least until Ingo tackled him and the whole thing went tumbling across the floor.
Garbador did indeed enjoy her treat.

When the Shouto Todoroki saves you and your kindergarten students at the aquarium during a villain attack, you can't seem to get him out of your head. Bonus: you're quirkless and he's a pro hero, so you live in two different worlds. The glue? His cute nephew that's obsessed with rocks and that just so happens to be in your kindergarten class.
In short: You've become obsessed, you suppose. But that's all right, you're not the only one that's obsessed.
WARNING: infatuated Shouto = a ditz who embarrasses himself in front of his crush <3; female reader (srry I forgot to add this to the first part but you can choose the gender^^); Shouto and Kaoru bonding!!
Part 1 here!
2 - You're Obsessed With Me
Shouto has never seen a woman so perfect.
He had heard of you before. Every so often, when Shouto would take Kaoru out on a playdate or visit Natsuo, his nephew would casually bring you up.
"Y/N-sensei let me bring my rock collection for show n' tell."
"Oji-san, Y/N-sensei cuts her apple slices like rabbits. I wan' rabbits too."
"Today was Y/N-sensei's birthday, so I gave her a rock."
In a way, Shouto knew you. He knew about how you loved to take your students on field trips and that you want to travel to Venice someday and that you cry at every little milestone. He knew all of this from the lovely little stories that his lovely little nephew would tell him.
What he did not know was how obsessed he'd be with you once he'd finally met you. That afternoon, about an hour after eating his lunch and about 30 minutes into his patrol, he had received a call from his secretary and the authorities that there was a villain wreaking havoc at the Hosu City Aquarium. That afternoon, when he rushed to the scene with his five-year-old nephew's safety and the safety of others occupying his mind.
That afternoon, you laid there on the tile floor, wrists bound together and arms cut up, with the most beautiful face ever- 'Eugh! Weirdo!' Shouto mentally gives himself a slap to the face while shaking his head, prompting him out of his daydream. He looks down at Kaoru, the little boy holding his uncle's hand and observing the passing cars. Reaching the agency, Shouto types in his password and enters, bringing Kaoru along with him.
"Kaoru-kun, I just need to finish up a report before we can go back to your house, okay?"
"Okay, oji-san." As they approach the elevator, Kaoru looks up at Shouto with puppy eyes, making Shouto chuckle. "Go ahead." The five-year-old cheers and makes a beeline for the elevator, reaching up to press the up button. The elevator arrives, and the white-haired boy leads his uncle inside, also reaching up to press the 4th floor button.
Once they reach Shouto's office floor, Kaoru sits on the couch and looks at Shouto patiently, though his face reflecting expectancy. Shouto quirks a brow and kneels down at his nephew. "Yes, Kaoru-kun?"
"Do you have games on your phone?"
"..."
₊‧°𐐪♡𐑂°‧₊
"Kaoru-kun, do you have your subway card?" Turning off the lights, Shouto leads his nephew into the elevator. He observes the little boy nod in response, a pleasant hum escaping him.
"That's good. We'll take the subway back to your house, okay?"
"Okay, oji-san."
Opening the main door for Kaoru, the two exit the agency and head to the nearby subway station. Almost 6:40pm, they board the train and Shouto makes sure that his nephew has a seat. As the subway starts moving, Shouto's thoughts once again wander. 'Does she take the subway home too? How long has she been a teacher for? And she's quirkless too? She's so brave.' Amidst the sound of chattering tracks and pleasant thoughts, the pro hero hears a little rumbling sound and smiles softly.
"Kaoru-kun, are you hungry? I can buy you dinner before we get you home." Kaoru nods shyly. Shouto nods in acknowledgement and helps the little boy find his way to the subway doors before they open. Once the subway stops, they exit it and push past the large herd of people. "Kaoru," Shouto squeezes his nephew's hand comfortingly. "What do you want to eat?" His gaze meets round, doe eyes.
"Salmon onigiri!" Hearing that, the heterochromatic man takes Kaoru to the convenience store and buys him his dinner.
---
"Kaoru! You're safe!" Natsuo envelops his son in a hug, receiving a whine of protest. Shouto laughs at the sight. "I already fed him, Natsu-ani. No injuries and no problems." His elder brother lets out a sigh of relief and looks face-to-face at his son. "Thank goodness... thank you so much, Shouto. I was so worried." The man in question shakes his head. "I'm glad I was there on time, and Kaoru behaved." "Really? That's good." He ruffles Kaoru's hair. "Thank you, kiddo." Looking up at Shouto again, he stands up and offers a smile.
"I made hambugu (hamburg-steak) for dinner, do you wanna stay and eat?" "Thanks for the offer, but I ate already with Kaoru. I'll just head home now." Natsuo nods. "If you're sure, thanks again, Shou." The brothers both bow in respect to each other, Kaoru copying his father. Shouto smiles and gently pats his nephew's head. "Goodnight, Kaoru-kun. Have a good weekend." "You too, oji-san." The pro hero heads back out and walks to the station to return to his own home.

Shouto thinks that the American idea of Manifest Destiny must be true, because here you are, blessing him with your magnificent presence at his local grocery store (SPOILER! Shouto Todoroki is a Japanese citizen for a reason. That is NOT what Manifest Destiny is). You miraculously don't seem to notice his jaw-dropped expression, too busy reaching up to grab the specific brand of honey shampoo that you always buy. You're not wearing anything fancy: comfy sweats and a turtleneck for the slightly chilly weather.
But god, Shouto thinks that you're fine.
And did someone turn up the thermostat? Because suddenly, when you finally notice him and smile, the left side of his face flairs up. Thankfully it's not much, just a few flames that lick his face. Both yours and his eyes widen as Shouto quickly gets rid of the flames, leaving his cheeks dusted pink. "S-sir! Are you alright?" Oh goodness, you're coming closer! The air gets knocked out of Shouto's lungs when you look up at him with those doe eyes and worried expression. Clearing his throat, the pro hero attempts to save his ass.
"Ah, L/N-sensei, I apologize. I'm alright."
"No need to apologize! And no need to call me sensei." Your voice sounds like an angelic choir to Shouto, tone so sweet like candy. The tall man can only hope not to embarrass himself even further.
"Do you live in this area? I've never seen you here before." You nod cheerfully. "Mhm! I actually just moved here a few weeks ago because I got a pay raise. It's a beautiful area, and all the residents that I've met so far are lovely." Shouto likes how you're so cheerful and positive. Your face is welcoming and so far, you always seem to have a smile on your face. His eyes observe your left wrist, recalling the events of the day before. "Is your wrist okay?"
"Yes! I put some ice and it really helped with the swelling. I still try not to use it, but it doesn't hurt as much. Hopefully it will be back to normal soon!" Shouto's gaze softens, a soft smile appearing on his face as he adjusts his shopping bag hanging from his arm.
"That's good." He suddenly remembers something. "If I may ask, how long have you been teaching for?" "Hm..." Shouto can feel his heart do somersaults as he watches her slightly furrow her brows while thinking. 'Cute.' "This is my fourth year teaching. Ever since I started my career, I've been the kindergarten teacher for the school!" You giggle when Shouto's eyes widen. "Teaching young children is my passion. I love my students and want them to succeed. Sometimes it's a little hard when graduation rolls around the corner." He watches you dismiss yourself with a sheepish laugh, impressed at your dedication to teaching. The red- and white-haired man thinks it's absolutely adorable when you gush about teaching and your students. Every word that came out of your mouth, tumbling out of your kissable lips this loser really really really wants to kiss you :(, he becomes even more hooked.
And then, you take his breath away once more when you twirl a strand of your glossy hair and smile.
"You know, it's really nice interacting with a pro hero outside of their 'hero mode.' I've never done this before, and you're really kind, Todoroki-san!" Shouto's cheeks flush even more red at your sentiment. You enjoy talking to him??? Inside, he's mentally cheering screaming, on the outside, he's just looking at you with a shocked expression.
Yeah, you broke him. Yet, you don't seem to notice because instead of teasing him (like what his friends would have probably done), instead your cheeks turn a slight shade of pink like peaches and begin to speak again.
"If you're willing, I'd love to grab coffee with you sometime!" Shouto was definitely broken now, because his left side flares up with small flames again and you panic over him.
"Todoroki-san!?!"
In simple terms, Japan's Hottest Hero, Shouto Himura Todoroki, was definitely a loser boy man in love.

A/N: Yayayayay! Part 2 is finally done (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) Thank you all so much for reading and (hopefully) enjoying this part as much as Part 1! I kind of suck at writing POVs for other characters, so I hope that this was still an enjoyable fic >< I love a strong independent hottie but I also love it when that hottie is a loser when in love <33333
On a similar note: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all of your amazing, sweet support for Part 1!! I did not expect it to blow up 🥺🥺🥺 and cause my other (old) fics to also receive support! I was very surprised and elated to see my inbox flooded with notifications, so thank you for making my days ♡♡♡ I will take a short break from writing, maybe a week or two depending on how I feel, so I apologize if Part 3 comes out a little late!
Also!! I'm starting a tag list so if u wanna be tagged for the next part, just lmk!!

You knew what you were getting yourself into when you married him. You knew there would be many nights when he wouldn't come home. You knew there were some compromises you would have to make. Still, it took its toll on you over the years.
It felt like he married you out of convenience. You met young, and you fell so deeply in love with L the moment you saw him. Maybe it was his wit, or the deep charming look in his eyes. All your friends teased your obvious, painful crush on him. You didn't care. Your heart was set from the moment you met him.
The day he approached you and asked you to marry him was the happiest day of your life. You readily agreed without a second thought. You didn't pause to question why he asked. You didn't ponder about the fact you had only a handful of interactions.
"After much observation, I had determined that you will make an exceptional spouse." That's what L always told you when you would ask why. It was true. On the rare occasion that your husband was home, he had a nice meal waiting for him. He had a clean home and a made bed. It was a practical relationship.
He gave you affection, of course, but it always seemed like a chore to him. There were only a handful of times the two of you had been intimate. He never fully seemed to give himself to you, and the loneliness began to weigh you down.
A quick buzz sounded from your phone. You pull yourself off the couch, stretching a bit before checking the notification. It was a text from your husband. He was on his way home, after a week of being caught up in his work and sleeping at the office again. Despite all your conflicting feelings, butterflies fill your stomach. You love your husband. That has never changed.
You rush yourself to the kitchen. Early in your marriage, you'd managed to learn how to make his favorite desserts. You began to slave away over the counters, wanting to give your best effort. L was rarely ever home, so when he was, you gave it your all.
You hear the front door open. He's home much faster than you had anticipated. The desserts you were working on are still baking. You hadn't had time to get ready. Your hair was a mess, your clothes covered in creams and flour, and no makeup. You see L round the corner into the kitchen before his eyes land on you.
"Welcome home, Sweetheart." You say with a chuckle. "You came so much quicker than I thought you would. I haven't had time to finish my cooking or clean myself up."
L is silent, his gaze fixed on you. You grow nervous, fearing his disapproval. He seems tense or frustrated. You have trouble telling what's going on in his mind. He nearly never opens up about his feelings to you.
"Is everything alright? You seem... quiet." You comment, wiping your hands and approaching your husband. "Is everything going alright at work?"
"I want to have intercourse," Your eyes widen as L finally speaks. There were not the words you were expecting to hear. Not even a greeting. Straight to the point. "With you, of course."
"W-Well, no duh with me! I'd sure hope so!" You choke out, growing embarrassed. "What's this about? You seem off, Sweetheart. What's going on?"
"I love you." L says suddenly. He had only said this once before, on your wedding day, and you hardly believed that. It only felt as though it was part of his vows. You were always the more affectionate one, expressing your love without expecting any response.
"I... I love you too." You mutter, shocked by this sudden declaration. "W-What's going on, L. Seriously. If something is wrong, I need to know. I want to help."
"I know you do. You always have." L gives you a rare smirk, awkwardly wrapping his arms around you. Hugs were given on occasion, but this felt different. You could hear his heart beating out of his chest as you lay your head against him. "You have always been my greatest ally, Y/N. I realize that my appreciation for you goes unspoken more often than not. I would like to have intercourse, as a display of my gratitude and affection for you."
You look up at him, scanning his expression. It's comforting to feel his embrace. It's something you rarely get to experience. Yet, you feel this must be too good to be true.
"Darling, you don't have to do anything like that for me to know that you appreciate me, or that you care." Although, in the past year, you truly haven't felt appreciated or loved. You've felt more like a maid than anything.
"Y/N, I want you." He says, in a tone that sounds like a nearly frustrated whine. It's a sound you have never heard before. Still, everything indicates that he is speaking the truth.
He hesitates for a moment before leaning down to meet you face to face. His hands reach to your chin, tilting your head slightly. It's almost as if he's inspecting your face. Just as you are about to ask what he is doing, his lips land on yours.
Your husband was never fond of kissing. He was disgusted by the idea of sharing saliva. Yet, here you were, squeaking in surprise as his tongue forced his way into your mouth. You relax into the kiss. It's soft, and passionate. Your heartbeat practically echoes throughout the room as your excitement increases.
His hands find their way to your waist. He rubs circles on your skin and toys with the fabric of your shirt. You lean into him, your hands roaming his surprisingly toned chest. When you first married, he was much scrawnier than he is now. The thought of your wedding fills your heart with joy.
It was a small ceremony. Private. Very few people knew. Still, you felt as though you were the luckiest girl in the world. When those doors finally opened and L laid his eyes on you, you could've sworn you saw him tear up.
"You are arousing." He whispers in your ear, snapping you out of your pleasant memories. His hands snake under your shirt and gently trace your bare skin. "Even such minimal contact with you can cause a physical reaction."
You look down to see the outline of a very large bulge through L's sweatpants. His arms wrap at your hips, picking you up off the ground. Your legs instinctively wrap around his waist. His erection prods against you. He carries you to your bedroom, gently placing you onto the bed. His dominance and affection are unusual, but very much welcome.
"Do I have your consent to remove your clothes and proceed with intercourse?" You chuckle at his formality. You've known him so long. He's seen every part of you. Yet, something still makes your cheeks flush with embarrassment.
"Yes, Lawliet. You do." With that, his hands swiftly move to your pants, sliding them off your hips, down your thighs, and finally off your body entirely. He kneels against the side of the bed, peppering kisses on your skin.
Beforehand, intimacy felt somewhat cold and distant. He had always kept your enjoyment in mind, but had never shown so much affection as he had been showing now.
You feel your arousal pooling as his kisses make their way higher and higher, his thumb teasing at the waistline of your panties. He hooks his index finger around them, slowly pulling them down.
"My, someone is eager." He jokes, his hands positioning your thighs over his shoulders. "Open wide for me, Princess." Simply the sound of his husky voice calling you an affectionate pet name would've made your heart race. What makes your heart nearly explode was the feeling of his tongue swiping a line up your wet core. You let out a shaky breath as he continues, lapping up your arousal.
At first, he is slow and delicate. This is something you had never done before. L was never a fan of foreplay. He enjoyed getting straight to the point. However, as small whimpers and moans escaped your throat, his intensity increased. He grew desperate to hear more, devouring you like an animal. Your thighs squeezed around his head, but this did not stop him. His tongue continued to make your mind go cloudy. Soon, you felt your climax approaching.
"L-Lawliet!" You whimper, moans cascading from your mouth like a waterfall. "I can't take much more!" Your hands, which once gripped the bedsheets, travel to your husband's unruly hair. You tug it lightly, causing him to grunt. His nails dig into your waist as he continues.
Soon, you find yourself releasing on his face with a loud moan. He licks up your liquids and you squeak as his tongue passes back over your most sensitive parts.
Your husband stands, his chest heaving as he undresses. Any remaining garments of yours are shed quickly as well. The moment feels so intimate, and vulnerable. You reach towards the nightstand. With how infrequently you and your husband would have intercourse, you find it somewhat pointless to consistently take birth control. Instead, your primary contraceptive was now condoms. However, L's hand stops you at your wrist.
"I want to have a child. Would this be acceptable to you?" He asks, gently, his eyes never leaving yours. This feels like such a sudden development. L had never expressed interest in having a family before. However, this was something you had been hoping for since the beginning. Tears of joy fill your eyes as you nod. "May I have your verbal confirmation?"
"Of course, my Love." You say quickly, as if the opportunity will pass you by. "I'd want nothing more, but where is this coming from?" Your husband smiles as he leans over your frame, his arms on either side of you.
"I have found myself thinking of you more and more often. The idea of protecting and providing for you has always been in my mind. Yet, in the past few weeks, I have been craving your warmth under the pressure of my current case." L says softly. You listen intently. He has rarely ever opened up about his feelings. Especially not about your relationship. "I do not mean physical warmth in this context. Although, that is something I have missed. I am referring to your overwhelming domesticity and optimism. You are comforting."
"I find you comforting too." Your hand cups his cheek. He nods, happy with your response as he lifts your right leg ever so slightly, positioning himself at your entrance. You look down, spotting his throbbing cock, pre-cum leaking from the tip. You didn't think it possible to become more aroused than you already were, but here you felt your heart race faster and your face grow warmer. He teases you, rubbing himself against your wetness. "Please, Baby." You groan, earning a hitch in breath from L.
He pushes himself in slowly, feeling your warm walls squeeze around his as he bottoms out. He exhales a shaky breath, his nails clawing at the sheets and his eyes squeezed shut. He fears that if he opens his eyes and sees you beneath him, he wouldn't last.
"You take me so well." His voice is low, and he finally opens his eyes. He has given you a few moments to adjust, and he begins to pump in and out of you.
His thrusts are slow and loving at first as he praises you, peppering you with kisses. As your moans and whimpers grow louder, his thrusts pick up in speed, like he's feeding off your pleasure. The sounds of wet slapping skin fill the room, accompanied with L's occasional labored breaths and grunts. Your legs are wrapped around his hips, and your nails scratch into his back. You can tell your husband is getting closer to his climax, as his thrusts become more animalistic and sloppier.
"That's my good girl." He growls as your walls tighten; you're getting closer to your release as well. You whimper, his name slipping from your lips. This only seems to send him further into depravity, as he lets out a loud groan and a hand grabs at your ass.
"I-I'm so close-" You whimper as your husband presses into your sweet spot over and over again. His pace slows down, his eyes laced with desire.
"Beg for it. Beg to cum for me, or I will stop." You don't dare test or tease him. You know that he absolutely has the self-control to stop right then and there. Your legs tighten around his hips.
"No! Please! Don't stop, L. Please, I need this so bad. Please, let me cum. You make me feel so good Daddy." Though you had never called him this before, it seemed to unlock something within him. His thrusts become faster than you can handle, and your orgasm begins to wash over you. "A-Ah! Please! Right there!"
"Fuck." He whispers, lowering his head beside yours. You can hear his subtle cursing and growls right in your ear. Your mind fogs as you reach your climax, biting down on his shoulder as you cum on his cock. "G-Gonna cum-" He does so soon after, emptying himself out inside you with a couple extra thrusts.
He takes a moment to catch his breath before collapsing onto the bed beside you. The glimmer of sweat on his bare chest is truly a sight to see. Somehow, his hair managed to get even messier than it usually is. You giggle, happy to see your husband in such a vulnerable state.
"I hope you found this satisfactory." He turns to you, his eyes shining with affection and adoration. You turn on your side, laying your head on his chest as he wraps his arms around you.
"What's gotten into you?" You ask, tracing doodles on his body with your finger. He hums, thinking of a proper way to answer your question. "You're very affectionate today."
"There are a pair of individuals I have been observing for a time. They go by the names of Light Yagami and Misa Amane. Miss Amane is quite affectionate with Mr. Yagami. However, I notice that he often will not return this sentiment. She is left unsatisfied and desperate for any crumb of attention from Light." L turns to you, brushing a few strands of hair out of your face. "I do not desire to do the same to you. I do love you, Y/N. Since the day I met you. I would like to have a family with you. I would like to be more present. I want you to feel the love I have for you."
You smile, hugging his tightly. You try to hold the tears in your eyes. You've always been relatively confident that he cared for you and loved you. He just shows his affection a little differently. Yet, his concern for your happiness filled a loneliness you'd refused to acknowledge for a long time.
"I love you too."

Sheltered hearts:
Joel miller x reader
————————————————————————
The evening in Jackson was quiet, a rare moment of peace amidst the chaos of the world outside. Y/N sat on the porch of the lodge, staring out over the walls surrounding the town, the last remnants of a sunset casting a warm glow over the landscape. The past week had been rough—a series of close calls on patrol, an unsettling shortage of supplies. She was worn out, frustrated, and, if she was being honest with herself, lonely.
She didn’t expect to hear Joel’s familiar footsteps coming up the steps, but sure enough, there he was, a soft smirk on his face as he approached her.
“Can’t believe you’re still out here,” he drawled, crossing his arms and leaning against the porch rail. “Thought you’d be inside by now.”
Y/N looked up, managing a tired smile. “Could say the same to you.”
Joel shrugged, sliding onto the seat next to her. “Sleep doesn’t come easy these days,” he admitted, his gaze dropping to the ground. “Guess it never really does.”
They sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, the only sounds being the occasional wind rustling the trees and the distant hum of conversation from inside. She felt oddly at ease with him here, a welcome presence after the hard days they’d both had.
“Jackson’s safe, but…” she started, letting her words trail off.
“But not enough to shake the past,” Joel finished for her, nodding. He glanced over at her, his eyes softening as he studied her face. “You’re doin’ alright?”
Y/N gave a half-hearted laugh. “I’m fine. Just… hard to feel normal, you know?”
Joel nodded, his gaze thoughtful. “Ain’t much in this world that is normal anymore. But I think…” he paused, rubbing the back of his neck, “I think we got more good than we realize, even now.”
She gave him a sideways glance, eyebrow raised. “Didn’t take you for the optimistic type, Miller.”
He chuckled, a low rumble that made her smile. “Maybe you’re rubbing off on me.”
The air felt charged between them, the unspoken words hanging heavy, and Y/N knew she wasn’t imagining it. Over the past months, they'd both danced around this unacknowledged connection, the way he looked at her, the moments he let himself get a little closer. She decided, for once, to take a risk.
“You ever… think about what it’d be like if things were different?” she asked softly, barely meeting his eyes.
Joel’s gaze flickered, his jaw tightening slightly as he considered her words. “Ain’t much point in wishin’ for things we can’t have.”
Y/N laughed lightly, leaning closer, teasing. “Oh, come on. Don’t tell me you’ve never thought about it.”
Joel looked at her, really looked at her, and she felt her heart race under his gaze. Finally, he spoke, his voice low and gravelly. “Maybe more than I care to admit.”
There was a moment of silence, just long enough for her to gather her courage. Then she leaned forward, brushing her fingers over his, her face only inches from his. “Maybe we don’t have to wish for it.”
He didn’t need another invitation. His hand found her waist, pulling her close, his lips capturing hers with an intensity that took her breath away. The world around them faded, Jackson’s quiet safety giving them permission to forget, even if only for a moment.
They barely made it inside before he was guiding her down the hallway toward her room. The door clicked shut behind them, and everything else disappeared. His hands were rough but gentle, grounding her as he traced her sides, his mouth pressing soft kisses down her neck.
As they moved to the bed, he leaned over her, his gaze searching her face. “You sure about this?”
She gave a breathless nod, a soft smile on her lips. “More sure than I’ve been about anything.”
Joel chuckled, his own smile breaking through that usual stoic expression. “Well, in that case…”
He moved slowly, taking his time, each movement filled with a tenderness she hadn’t expected. She responded eagerly, threading her fingers through his hair, whispering his name like it was the only thing that mattered.
“Look at you,” he murmured, his voice rough yet soft as he moved against her, watching her with an intensity that sent a thrill down her spine. “Not broken at all. This world didn’t take you from me.”
She let out a laugh, feeling the tension drain from her as she whispered, “Joel, don’t stop.”
He grinned, brushing a hand down her cheek. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
And for that night, in the safety of Jackson, they found a moment of peace, tangled up in each other, sheltering one another from the world outside. As the first light of dawn crept through the window, she found herself smiling, her head resting on his chest, feeling more whole than she had in a long time.
“Didn’t peg you for a snuggler,” she teased softly, her voice still sleepy.
Joel gave a gruff chuckle, tightening his arm around her. “Don’t go spreadin’ rumors now. Got a reputation to uphold.”
Y/N laughed, pressing a kiss to his shoulder. “Wouldn’t dream of it… big, bad Joel Miller.”
They stayed like that a little while longer, both knowing that outside those walls, reality would come calling soon enough. But for now, they could pretend. They could be whoever they wanted to be.
As she finally got up to get dressed, she caught Joel’s amused smile as he watched her, and she gave him a playful glare. “What’re you staring at?”
He shrugged, leaning back with a smirk. “Just thinkin’ how you’re gonna have a hell of a time explainin’ why you’re this happy in a world like ours.”
“Oh, shut up,” she laughed, throwing a pillow at him as he grinned.
“Not sure I’d wanna be anywhere else,” he said, his voice soft.
She shook her head, laughing. “Keep talking like that, Joel, and I might actually believe you’re secretly a romantic.”
He just chuckled, pulling her back in for one last kiss, and they both knew that, for as long as they had each other, they could survive anything.

Thermodynamics and Turmoil (Curly x Reader pt. 1)
Hello! I'm putting out my very first piece ever and I'm so excited to feed the masses as much Mouthwashing content as they deserve :) This game has a lot of sensitive topics to it and as such I'll try my best to bring them up as appropriately as possible. The story is gonna start off slow and elaborative because I love all of the Tulpar crew so much (except for Jollof rice, Jimneva convention) and they all have such interesting personalities that I couldn't help but to explore their wants and aspirations. This story will feature an alternative ending to the game because I cannot stomach sad things they make me very sad </3
engineer! reader x curly TW: a bad word or two, I think word count ~ 1.9K
Curly was back in the medical bay for his routine psychological evaluation with Anya. With all of the questions answered and out of the way, the both of them were just chatting before he had to go back to the cockpit and finish up his duties for the afternoon.
“You’re all good to go, Captain. Seems like there isn’t much change from your answers like last time, as usual.” Anya let out a tired sigh.
“That should be a good thing, given we’ve already been on this trip for almost two months now. We should all be used to the routine around here at this point. Has everybody else been adjusting alright?” Curly stood up from his chair, Anya following suit as they moved towards the door.
“For the most part, everyone’s been well but I wish they would open up or take the assessment seriously. I mean, at least Daisuke has been making my job a little easier – he just talks and talks.” she mused. Curly gave a little chuckle in response, thinking about the last-minute intern that the Pony Express decided to add on board to their journey. He wasn’t exactly the most helpful – at least according to Swansea – but he brought an air of lightheartedness that they all needed in a cut-corners, shitty working environment like the Tulpar. “Oh, actually, have you seen (Y/N) lately?”
Curly thought for a moment. Along with Daisuke, (Y/N) was another late addition to the crew. The Tulpar has started showing its age and as such, there were increasingly consistent problems with the water pipes, life support, and fuel usage. However, instead of giving the crew a new ship, they handed the responsibility of keeping the ship up and running to the passengers. After their previous trip, Swansea went straight to the higher-ups and ripped them a new one, stating that “he couldn’t be expected to perform miracles”. When the crew was assigned this trip, they were all surprised that corporate had listened to Swansea’s complaints and granted them with another engineer. (Y/N) was self-sufficient, only really needing to work with Swansea to consult him on how best to move forward and with Daisuke when Swansea needed a break from his overzealousness. As a result, Curly saw and knew very little about her. “No, I’m afraid I haven’t. Why?”
“She’s due for her check-in as well but I haven’t seen her these past two days to tell her that. Go figure. We share a room yet recently she’s been waking up earlier and sleeping later than I have. When I went to ask Swansea and Daisuke if they’d seen her, they said that they haven’t seen her at all today.”
“Huh. She’ll show up eventually. This ship only has so many places a person can be. If I see her, I’ll let her know to go straight to you. Thanks, Anya.” He patted her shoulder lightly before heading out, making his way back to the cockpit to fulfill his duties.
In the evening, the crew convened at the table for dinner. Curly always looked forward to this time of day, where everyone had finished all of their tasks and could open up with light hearted banter. With only the six of them on the ship for over a year, all they had were each other, and he cherished all of his crew members. Anya and Swansea were chatting to the left of him about Swansea’s kids back on Earth. To his right, he saw Jimmy get increasingly agitated as Daisuke tried convincing him to swap dinners with him. That’s when he spotted the empty chair across from him and realized that (Y/N) was still missing.
No one was concerned by her absence; it was a common occurrence, and he trusted Daisuke and Swansea to be in the loop about what she was up to and would report to him if anything happened. During the work day, everyone was so consumed with their jobs and couldn’t afford to worry about the whereabouts of the others, unless they needed to lend a hand. Curly wasn’t an exception to this. As the captain it was his responsibility to make sure his crew members were okay and that things were moving along nicely, and so far there wasn’t anything out of the ordinary that indicated otherwise. With everyone finishing up their dinner, clean up began before people bid each other goodnight.
In the middle of the night, he woke up parched. Debating whether or not to get a glass of water, he finally got out of bed and made his way to the lounge where the kitchen was. Leaving his room, he could hear a faint clacking noise grow slightly louder the closer he got to the lounge entrance. Opening the door to the lounge, he was finally met with the sixth crew member whom no one had seen all day. Sitting at the dining table, (Y/N) rested her feet on the seat of her chair and had her knees drawn up to her chest. All around her were books and loose papers scattered about. Her hair was messed up, likely a direct cause of the hand she kept on her head, fingernails digging into her scalp. Curly gently cleared his throat, trying to make her aware of his presence. Shooting a tired glance his way, her eyes widened a bit before immediately sitting up straight and tidying her hair. She looked guilty, like she was caught in the middle of doing something she wasn’t supposed to be doing.
“Finally, we get to see her. Where have you been, Miss Absentee?” He sent a small smile her way, walking over to her.
“C-Captain! What are you doing up? It’s quite late.” (Y/N) nervously fidgeted.
“Just up for a glass of water. What are you doing up so late is the real question.” He crossed his arms.
“Just doing a bit of work. Can’t get enough of it.” She joked dryly. Curly frowned and pulled the chair next to her to take a seat. She sighed and leaned back, finally relaxing from tensing up after seeing Curly enter the room. (Y/N) didn’t know her captain well, and as such she always tried her best to save face and remain professional with him, but at this hour of the night, she was too tired to keep up with decorum.
He leaned on the table, facing her. “I know we may not be as close as you are with Swansea and Daisuke, or even Anya, but as your captain I care about how you’re doing and I want you to open up to me.” Her expression became hesitant as she shifted in her seat. “We’re all busy and even though it’s common for you to go missing during meal times, seeing you like this now is making me worried about how you’re doing.”
(Y/N) kept quiet for a second, looking like she was mulling something over before picking up the object right in front of her. “Do you know what this is?”
“An abacus. Interesting that you have one.” he said.
“Yeah.” she sighed. She moved her gaze from Curly to the plastic Polle statue in the corner of the room. “Before I got on the Tulpar, they had given me all of the supplies I needed to fulfill my duties and do what they asked of me. I had met Swansea only briefly before so he could give me manuals and maps of the ship’s layout. I got the uniform, the steel-toed boots, notebooks, writing utensils, and a solar-powered calculator.” (Y/N) shook her head. “You’d think that would be enough to prepare me to be here, but no . If only there was a way to have a bit of sunlight in outer space in a ship with no windows. They gave me something so crucial but useless out here. I had brought the abacus on board with me for sentimental reasons, but ironically enough it’s the only thing here that allows me to do my job.” She glanced back at him. “I’m not sure if you were aware, but Pony Express lied and said this was an internship for graduate students. Little did I know I’d be thrown into something I wasn’t going to have much guidance in. I needed a break from my PhD and even though the pay wasn’t that great, I was desperate for some sort of escape from academia. I thought going to space would give me that, but every day I wake up is a constant reminder that I’m so underqualified. Swansea is an expert with the mechanical side of the ship and he’s helped me a great deal, but the fluid mechanics and thermodynamics of it all are things he knows nothing about. So I’m here, trying my best to play catch-up and praying that I figure out a solution so that this ship has enough fuel, enough air to last us an entire year, and that the Tulpar doesn’t pop like a pressurized soda bottle while we’re out here.”
“(Y/N)...” Curly’s voice died at her name, shocked at this revelation and disappointed he somehow didn’t know about her struggle sooner. “I had no idea what you were going through. You always seemed to have a grasp on your tasks and Swansea always praised the work you did, so I just assumed you weren’t having a hard time adjusting. Have you told any of this to Anya during your evaluations?”
“No… I really wanted to believe that I could do it and stick it out, and so far, thank God, I’ve just barely made it every time. I really wanted you and the rest of the crew to believe I was capable and worthy of being here.” He cautiously put a hand on her shoulder, testing the waters on how he should comfort her.
“You are worthy of being here. The fact that we’ve been having such a smooth trip with no complications so far makes that obvious. I really appreciate you opening up to me now. I want to do everything I can to make sure you aren’t stressed about your work. You need to get rest and eat like the rest of us. Sure, none of us are a chemical engineering smarty pants like you, but you can always ask for help, even if it’s just for something like bringing you food or running errands around the ship.” He smiled at her, and she weakly reciprocated the gesture.
“I’ll keep that in mind for next time. Thank you, Curly.” Too tired to remember formalities, (Y/N) let out a big yawn, much to his amusement.
“So are you gonna go to bed?” He asked. She threw her head back and groaned in defeat, murmuring a “yes”. “Good! I hope I get to see more of you around now that you’ll be asking for help, yes?”
“Yes, of course, Captain. I’ll see you tomorrow.” The both of them stood up, (Y/N) to head to her quarters and Curly to finally get his glass of water. Before completely leaving, she paused and turned back. “Oh, and Captain?”
“Hmm?” He raised his head up to look at her again.
“I know you have a lot of responsibility on your shoulders looking after all of us. Please, rely on me too.” She smiled gently.
“Goodnight, (Y/N).” He called after her as she slipped through the door. He felt content that he was making good progress to gaining the trust of the crew member he knew the least. It always made him feel good to be the reliable captain he hoped everyone viewed him as. Having that conversation with (Y/N) made him a little more relaxed now that she had opened up to him for the first time.

JJ had gotten home late that night, from work. He was beyond exhausted, he delt with kooks all day and was super irritated. He came home to you in a very very happy mood, which meant you would be non stop talking and you would be all over jj. He walked through the door, dropping his bag on the floor going into the kitchen grabbing out a beer from the fridge. That’s when you snuck up on him wrapping your arms around him “Boo” jj glanced behind him annoyed “Not now please, I’m tired” he says pushing you off him.
You pout “but I missed you I didn’t get to see you all day” you whine wrapping your arms around him again. He rolled his eyes sighing turning to face you. "Y/N i told you not right now, i'm fucking exhausted and i don't want to be touched all over right now. Give me some damn space" you frowned letting go but you take his beer instead going to the couch to drink it, instead of him. He gave you a look, an irritated one when you took his beer. He followed you over to the couch as you sat down drinking his beer. "Excuse you, but thats my beer. Give it back"
"No" you say taking another sip "Y/N i'm not fucking playing around right now. Give me my beer" you looked at him still not giving up the beer and you took another sip from it again giving him a scowl "No, you don't need it. All you do is smoke weed and drink beer JJ, so yeah i complain a lot because thats all you ever do!" you storm out going into your bedroom slamming the door, JJ sat out on the couch rubbing his head finishing his beer he had. He did drink and smoke a lot but was it really that much? he thought. Was it that much that your guys' relationship was going to shit? He sat there a little longer before getting up to go to your room, opening the door walking in "Baby, i'm sorry- I know i'm a jerk sometimes and i just- i just feel bad" you look at him still upset, but it had subsided when you. saw the look on his face "i really do love and care about you, y/n and i'm so sorry i'm always busy" you get up going towards him "i love you too, its ok. I was being kinda selfish too" you say hugging him, he wrapped his arms around you holding tightly. He brushes a strand of hair away from your face kissing your cheek "i don't wanna argue like that again ok?" he says holding you close "ok" you reply kissing him "promise?" he asks "promise."

Moving Staircase - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 484
The worst thing about the staircases moving was who you could be trapped there with.
Remus dreaded being forced to make small talk with someone he didn't know, asking if they'd had Potions on a Thursday together in second year, or trying to remember what the latest scores of Quidditch were in order to use that in conversation.
When the words ran dry, he'd often stand, hand in pockets, studying the paintings that lined the staircase, waiting for stairs to stop moving. He wasn't rude. He'd always say a polite goodbye before rushing off in the direction of the common room to try and shake off the awkwardness of what he'd just endured.
That Thursday evening, the staircases were quiet, and so Remus felt fairly confident that he should be able to go on his way unscathed. That is until he reached the fourth floor, and the staircases shifted, and Remus found himself stuck with a Hufflepuff girl he thought he recognised.
"Hi," she said quietly. She had a round face, and round eyes, and was carrying a pile of Arithmancy books.
Remus smiled and nodded at her books, "How are you finding it?"
The girl looked down at the books.
"I thought I might like it and tried it for a while, but it turns out magical numbers are just as mystifying as the Muggle ones to me," Remus continued.
The girl said nothing. She had pursed her lips and was shuffling a little on her feet, eager for the stairs to finish changing.
Remus, ever keen to put others at their ease, tried to catch her eye and said, "I think we had that class together before I gave it up?"
"I don't think so," the girl said in a quiet voice.
Remus studied her face, confused.
"I'm certain I recognise you from somewhere though," Remus said. "Are you sure?"
The girl flushed and said, even quieter than before, "That's not where you recognise me from."
She lifted her eyes, and they found Remus'. All of a sudden, Remus could place her. The Astronomy Tower. Three weeks ago. He'd gone up to collect the books he had left. He'd burst in without thinking after dark....
Two forms, pressed against each other, in the dark recess of the tower. A girl, this girl, starting when the door had creaked open and hurriedly rearranging her shirt.
And a boy, with grey eyes and unruly, mussed hair, had given a breathless bark of laughter as he tried to call after him as Remus had hurriedly backed out of the room, "Moony! Wait!"
"Oh. Right." Remus could think of nothing else to say. The girl stared down at her feet. Remus felt an uncomfortable feeling fluttering in the pit of his stomach.
He studied the paintings. A lion and a lamb. A shooting star. A lightning struck tower. And waited for the stairs to stop swinging.

𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐢
𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭: finally confessing to Levi after failed attempts (gender neutral reader)
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: none, just fluff
𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫: Levi Ackerman from AOT
𝐦.𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭
“I love you, Levi Ackerman”
“Excuse me?” Catching Levi off guard was rare, few had ever seen it, Levi himself had rarely even experienced it. He was always on guard, always aware of his surroundings, ready for anything. But not this. Not your sudden confession. In the middle of dinner, surrounded by everyone. Erwin and Hange looking between you and Levi, completely silent, anticipating your response.
“Listen, I tried, I really really tried to keep it in. But goodness it’s been hard. And it’s not like I haven’t tried confessing at better times, it just always seems you’re busy, and it’s impossible to be alone with you, so I just had to tell you…” you trail off when you see all the eyes on you. The whispering and giggling of the other soldiers somewhat discouraging your words, but it wasn’t their opinion or response you cared about. It was Levi’s.
Levi frowns, pinching the space between his brows, closing his eyes for a few seconds before finally straightening up. Grey eyes meeting yours. “This is hardly the place to discuss such matters Y/n. Come with me”
“Oh-uh, someone’s in trouble”
“Shut up Hange” you whisper yell as you follow Levi out from the mess hall. Awkwardly laughing at the other soldiers who watched the two of you.
“Are you trying to be funny?”
“No sir” came past your lips before you could even process the words. It wasn’t like you had thought it all through, confessing to him in public. Basically yelling it for everyone to hear. Did you consider the fact it would make Levi uncomfortable and angry? No, no you did not. “Commander, do you realize how hard I’ve tried to confess in a…better circumstance?”
Levi sighs, clearly annoyed. His arms crossed under his chest as he looked you dead in the eyes. His patience was running short, yet, he seemed to let you finish talking. “Go on”
“Wait, really?”
“You either talk or I walk away”
Your lips part, ready to tell him all the times you had tried confessing, but nothing came out. Why was he letting you tell him? After you had embarrassed yourself, and maybe even him, in front of all the soldiers. Why did he care?
Levi took a step back and you quickly stammer to find your words. “Right! Uhm! There was that one time in your office!”
“Here are the papers from Commander Erwin” you hand the papers to Levi, throat slightly dry as you take on the courage to say the next part. “A-also, I was wondering if you’re free for a drink anytime after work”
Levi didn’t answer at first, sitting in his office chair, going through the papers you had handed him. “I don’t drink” he said simply, not lifting his gaze from the papers.
“Oh, that’s fine. We can, uhm, go out for tea?”
“Why would I go out for tea when I have it right here”
You look down at the teacup in front of him, steam still swirling in the air from the hot liquid. He wasn’t wrong, why bother going out for tea when he, in fact, had it right here? “I was just asking because it was would be nice to get to know you better, like, a dat—”
Your words die out once the door to the office opens, a breathless Hange entering the tidy room. “Levi, Y/n, there’s an emergency!”
“That was you asking me out? You think I heard your mumbling about a date?” Levi scoffs, seeming unamused. “And you gave up after that sorry attempt?”
“Well, no” you say embarrassed, looking down at the ground. Clearing your throat as you recall one of the other times. “Remember the time at the stables?”
You were taking care of your horse, as usual. It was calming more than anything. Brushing your horses mane, making sure she was clean and fed well. Giving her occasional kisses and sneaking extra apples for her. You also enjoyed it because your horse was placed in the stall next to Levi’s horse. You often saw him take care of his companion whenever you were there doing the same. The way he took such gentle care of the horse, it didn’t exactly help with your feelings for the man. “Uhm, Levi, do you ever wanna, I don’t know, go on a casual ride with our horses?”
“Casual ride?” He seemed almost offended and you regret even asking. “What, so we can exhaust the horses even more. They’ve been through enough, do you not think so?”
“Right right right, you’re absolutely right, mhm, sorry for bringing it up”
“Casual ride. Not good enough”
You let out a slight groan, hiding your face in your hands. “I know I know, I was so embarrassed afterwards. But that wasn’t even the last time I tried…I was so determined to confess or ask you out, embarrassment wasn’t enough to stop me. Remember, uhm, when we were training and—”
“You fell on top of me?” He finishes your sentence. “It’s not exactly something I can forget Y/n”
Sweat was running down your brow, heart beating in your ears as you train with Levi. He often picked you to train with, you weren’t really sure why, because more often than not, you fell straight on your ass or face and got made fun of by Hange. But it did make you stronger, even faster, your reflexes had also improved.
“Hey Levi, I know you’re busy, but maybe we can talk in private after this?” You ask, sword at the ready as he stood opposite from you. Arms flexed, swords in both hands as he made his fighting stance.
“Tell you what, you beat me and I’ll listen to your rambling for once”
Hearing Levi’s response definitely made you more determined to win. Perhaps too determined. You don’t know how, but somehow throughout the fight, you had landed on top of Levi. His back hit the ground, and you hit, well, him. More specifically, his crotch.
“Oh…oh my…oh” you were speechless, watching as he groaned underneath you. Safe to say, there was no talking afterwards and Hange had two people to tease that day.
“So you gave up after that?” He asked after recalling the memory. He wasn’t dumb, he was very aware of your feelings for him. Often catching you staring, not to mention the special treatment you gave him. Asking if he was cold, asking if he wanted your food if he was still hungry, asking if he was tired. Just, making sure he was okay.
“Well, clearly not. Didn’t you hear me saying I love you in the mess hall?”
“I think everyone heard” Levi scoffed, studying your expression. You didn’t seem too embarrassed. But you didn’t seem like your usual self either. He knew why, he hadn’t exactly reacted to your confession. Not telling you if he felt the same or rejected you. “Y/n, I don’t date”
You stay quiet, lifting your head to look at him. Swallowing hard and putting on the realest smile you were able to. “I figured as much, I just, needed you to know I love you. I couldn’t keep it in anymore, even if you don’t feel the same”
“That’s not what I said” he corrected, gaze not leaving yours. His arms uncrossed, resting by his sides. Sleeves rolled up to his elbows, the small scars from battle visible on his forearms. You always thought he looked so handsome in his casual wear, and you always wanted to tell him, this didn’t exactly seem like the right time to.
“Oh uhm, what do you mean?”
“I didn’t say I don’t feel the same. I just said I don’t date”
It was your turn to frown, not understanding what he meant. If he doesn’t want to date you, doesn’t that mean he doesn’t feel the same?
“Whether I love you or not doesn’t matter, I don’t do relationships. We don’t have time for that as soldiers. Neither do I want to get too attached to you, anything can happen, we lose soldiers everyday Y/n. I don’t want to be carrying your dead body back to the walls, feeling heartbroken and attached and getting distracted”
“But…” looking away, you decide it’s better not to disagree with him. He was your captain after all, he had authority over you and you followed his commands.
“Go on, speak your mind. It’s not like you to back off from it”
If you were in a better mood you would have laughed, but considering the situation, it didn’t seem like the right time. “If you feel anything for me Levi, wouldn’t it hurt either way to carry my dead body back to the walls? If you love me, but don’t act on it, it doesn’t change the fact you do love me, the feelings are there. And you might not only be sad if you lose me, but wouldn’t you regret never having acted on your feelings? Why do you think I never gave up on confessing? I tried multiple times exactly because of the fact we risk our lives every day. If I lost you and I never had the chance to tell you how I feel, I would regret it for the rest of my life…but that’s just…my…opinion” your words trail off, realizing you might have gotten too emotional, raised your voice a little too much.
It was too quiet, Levi not saying anything nor was he moving. You didn’t dare look at him, keeping your gaze down at the ground. Staring at his boots that always seemed so clean.
“I don’t regret my decisions” you hear Levi’s voice, softer than it usually is. His fingers wrapping around your chin and lifting your face to look up at him. “I don’t date…but maybe I can make an acception for you” his deep silver eyes look into yours, fingers brushing against the skin on your jaw. He was being surprisingly gentle, not wanting to push you away. His gaze softens at your expression, seeing the confusion and surprise clear on your face. “I’m saying I…I love you too, and I want to take care of you, more than I’ve taken care of you before. You’re right, I don’t want to regret it in the end”
Without hesitation, you wrap your arms around his slender waist and pull him close to you. Feeling the warmth of his body against yours and the subtle change in his heartrate picking up. His arms slowly returning your embrace. “Okay I don’t feel so embarrassed about confessing in front of everyone now”
“Not so fast, I’m still putting you on extra cleaning duty for that”
“Levi!!!”

Chapter 19: Déjà Vu
(Racing Hearts : VOLUME 2)
The final race of the season was fast approaching, but Charles couldn’t shake the growing pit of anxiety gnawing at him. Everywhere he looked, there were rumors—whispers that Mark wouldn’t be returning next year. He hadn't dared to ask Mark directly, and it was driving him to the edge. Carlos was already leaving to join Williams, and now it felt like he was about to lose Mark too. His friend, his closest ally, and… maybe something more.
Arthur and Lorenzo sat with him, trying to calm him down, but it wasn’t working. The room was filled with tension as Charles’ thoughts spiraled.
“You don’t get it!” Charles snapped, pacing in frustration. “You don’t know how much he means to me! This is all happening again, like last year… but this time it’s real! He might actually leave!”
Arthur looked up, confused. “What do you mean, ‘like last year’? Mark’s not confirmed to leave yet, right?”
Lorenzo nodded in agreement. “It’s all just rumors, Charles. Red bull hasn’t made an official announcement.”
But Charles shook his head, his voice filled with frustration. “That’s what you said last year when I thought I was losing him too, and look how that turned out! Last year, I wanted to tell him… I needed to, but I couldn’t, and I thought I’d never see him again.”
Arthur blinked, surprised by Charles’ sudden outburst. “Wait… you really care about him that much? Like—”
Before Arthur could finish, Charles cut him off. “You don’t get it! I LOVE HIM, OKAY?! I CAN’T LOSE HIM, NOT AGAIN!” His voice broke as the words slipped out, louder than he had ever intended.
A stunned silence filled the room. Charles stared ahead, his heart racing. He hadn’t even realized the weight of those words until now. Arthur and Lorenzo exchanged shocked glances.
“Wait… you love him?” Arthur asked, his voice quiet but filled with disbelief. “Charles, are you serious?”
Lorenzo’s eyes widened. “We’re talking about Mark here, right?”
Charles slumped back onto the couch, burying his face in his hands. “I… I don’t know, okay? I didn’t even mean to say that. I’m just… I’m scared of losing him.”
Later that evening, Charles found himself absentmindedly scrolling through Instagram, trying to take his mind off things. But then something stopped him cold. A post from F1’s official account caught his eye. His heart raced as he opened it:
Charles blinked in disbelief, his heart skipping a beat. Mark was staying?! He stared at his phone, trying to process the information. Was this real? Could it actually be happening?
Before he could think any further, his phone buzzed. It was Mark.
Charles hesitated for a moment before answering. “Mark?” His voice trembled, unsure of what to say.
“Hey, bunny boy,” Mark’s teasing voice came through the line. “Miss me?”
Charles blinked, still in shock. “I… are you really staying with Ferrari next season? I just saw the post, and I thought—”
Mark laughed, the sound light and playful. “Yep! Just signed the contract. Looks like you’re stuck with me for another season, mate.”
Relief flooded through Charles, a weight lifting off his chest. “Wait… seriously? You’re not leaving?”
“Nope,” Mark teased again. “Red Bull’s in my rearview now. It’s just you and me at Ferrari.”
Charles laughed, a wave of happiness washing over him. “I thought you were leaving. I was… I was losing my mind thinking about it.”
“Well, I’m not going anywhere,” Mark reassured him. “We’re teammates again. Get ready for another season together.”
Charles smiled, relief and excitement mixing inside him. But as much as he was thrilled that Mark was staying, a part of him couldn’t shake the deeper feelings he’d just confessed. He wasn’t ready to confront them yet, but knowing Mark wasn’t leaving gave him some time to figure it all out.
For now, all that mattered was that Mark was staying. That was enough.

Snowball Fight
sirius black x reader - snowball fight
word count: 1k
summary: a silly and fluffy little blurb about a snowball fight with sirius!
warnings: none
It was a crisp winter evening at Hogwarts, the kind where the cold nipped at your cheeks and the soft glow of the castle’s many fireplaces could be seen through the frosted windows. The halls were nearly empty, save for the occasional student scurrying by with a book or a cup of hot cocoa in hand.
Y/n had just finished her last class of the day and found herself wandering the dimly lit corridors, hoping for some peace before dinner. As she passed by the Gryffindor common room, she heard a familiar voice—one that always made her heart skip a beat.
“Hey, y/n!”
She turned to see none other than Sirius Black leaning casually against the doorframe, his messy black hair falling into his eyes. A grin spread across his face as he noticed her surprised expression.
“I was just about to come find you,” he said, his voice light and teasing. “You disappeared right after class. What’s a guy gotta do to spend some time with his favorite person?”
She raised an eyebrow, trying to suppress a smile. “You’re so dramatic, Sirius.”
“I’m charming, not dramatic,” he corrected with a mock-serious expression, pushing himself off the door frame and walking toward her.
“You’re both, actually,” she retorted, though she couldn’t help but laugh as he fell into step beside her.
He made a show of pondering this for a moment, tapping his chin. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”
The two of them walked in comfortable silence for a while, the only sound being the soft crunch of their footsteps on the snow outside the castle. Sirius’s hand brushed against hers, the touch fleeting but electric, and for a moment, she wondered if it was intentional. Before she could dwell on it, he spoke again, his tone lighter than before.
“Have you ever noticed how the snow makes everything feel... magical?”
She glanced up at him, surprised by the wistfulness in his voice. “Magical, huh?” she asked, half-joking. “Isn’t that the whole point of Hogwarts?”
He chuckled, though his eyes held a softness she wasn’t used to seeing. “I mean more like... quiet, you know? Peaceful. Like the world slows down a bit.”
She smiled, warming to his thought. “I get that. It’s like everything is covered in a blanket, so nothing can get to you.”
“Exactly.” Sirius grinned and stopped walking for a moment, turning to face her fully. “It’s like a secret between you and the universe.”
She felt her heart flutter in her chest at the intensity in his eyes. It was moments like this—when the world felt suspended in time—that made her appreciate the simple things about being near Sirius. It was easy to get lost in his charm, his wit, and the way his presence seemed to fill every empty space.
“So,” he began, a mischievous gleam returning to his gaze, “how about we make our own little secret?”
She gave him a playful look. “What do you mean?”
Sirius’s grin widened, and before she could react, he reached out and grabbed her hand, pulling her towards the nearest empty corridor. “I know a spot where the snow’s perfect for making snowballs,” he said with a wink. “But there’s a catch.”
“A catch?” She raised an eyebrow.
“Yeah. You have to promise not to go easy on me,” he said, his voice lowering, taking on that teasing quality again. “I’m very competitive, you know.”
Her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh, trust me. I’ve got no intention of going easy on you, Black.”
Sirius’s eyes lit up as he dragged her through the halls, the sound of her laughter echoing off the stone walls. When they finally reached the courtyard, the scene in front of them was nothing short of magical. The snow had piled up in soft drifts, the setting sun casting a warm orange glow over everything.
“Ready?” he asked, turning to face her with a mischievous grin, his hands already scooping up the first handful of snow.
She nodded, feeling a rush of excitement. “Ready to kick your arse.”
And with that, the snowball fight began—Sirius throwing the first snowball with surprising accuracy, aiming for her shoulder. She ducked and retaliated with her own, catching him square in the chest.
The two of them spent the next few minutes laughing and dodging, each throw followed by a burst of giggles and playful banter. The snow was soft, the cold wasn’t unbearable, and for once, y/n didn’t care about anything other than the simple joy of the moment.
At one point, Sirius grabbed her from behind, spinning her around until they were both laughing so hard they could hardly catch their breath.
“You’re a menace,” she managed to say between laughs.
“I’m just making sure you have a good time,” he shot back, his voice warm, his breath mingling with hers in the cold air.
After a few more rounds of snowball fights, the two of them collapsed onto a snowbank, panting and grinning like two children who had just discovered the magic of the world. The sky was darkening now, stars beginning to twinkle overhead.
Sirius turned his head to look at her, his eyes softer than she’d ever seen them before. “I’m really glad we’re doing this,” he said quietly. “You’re one of the few people who gets me.”
She felt a sudden rush of warmth, despite the chill in the air. “I’m glad too, Sirius.”
He smiled, that signature grin of his, before turning his gaze back to the stars. For a moment, the two of them lay there in silence, simply enjoying each other’s presence.
Then, as if on impulse, Sirius reached out, his hand brushing against hers again, this time holding it more firmly. She glanced over at him, and this time, she didn’t look away.
“You know,” he said, his voice soft, “I think I might just like spending my winters like this—next to you.”
She felt her heart race. Sirius Black, the notorious prankster, the boy with a million admirers, was holding her hand in the quiet of a snowy evening—and she wasn’t sure if there was anywhere else she’d rather be.
“Maybe I could get used to that too,” she said, her voice just above a whisper.
And in the silence that followed, they both knew this was the beginning of something. Something wrapped in warmth and snowflakes and the quiet magic of a winter’s night.

51 . yn protection squad
prev . main
you were just minding your own business, sitting outside the classroom, waiting for nien, kaede, and chaeyeon to finish up. your phone was keeping you company, scrolling through whatever came up on your feed, when you suddenly heard footsteps slow down beside you. instinctively, you kept your eyes on your phone, hoping it wasn’t who you thought it was.
but, of course, life never worked out that easily.
“yn,” nakyoung’s voice came from above you, soft but filled with an annoying persistence. “we need to talk.”
"hey," she repeated as she approached, her voice slightly breathless as if she had rushed over the moment she saw you. you didn't bother looking up, pretending to be deeply engrossed in whatever was on your screen.
you sighed but didn’t look up. maybe if you just kept scrolling, she’d take the hint and leave. it wasn’t like she could force you into a conversation, right?
"yn, can we talk for a second?" she pressed, standing right in front of you now.
you sighed, locking your phone and finally glancing up at her. "what do you want, nakyoung?"
she gave you that familiar look, the one that had always made you weak before, but now it only reminded you of how much she'd hurt you. "i just... i wanted to talk. you haven’t been responding to my texts."
"there’s nothing to talk about," you muttered, trying to sound as indifferent as possible. you couldn’t let her get to you again. not when you were finally in a good place with xinyu. things had started to feel real, and the last thing you needed was nakyoung trying to mess it all up.
nakyoung shifted her stance, crossing her arms in frustration. "you can’t just ignore me forever, yn. we need to talk about us."
you sighed, "there is no us, nakyoung. i keep telling you, i won't break up with xinyu."
she rolled her eyes as if you hadn’t just said you were in a relationship. "come on, yn. we both know that you’re just doing that to make me jealous. you don’t actually like her."
your patience was running thin. "no, nakyoung. i'm dating xinyu because i want to be with her. i'm not doing this for you."
nakyoung frowned, clearly not liking your response. "i know you, yn. this thing with xinyu is not right, especially because you told me you hated her and would never speak to her again. it's not too late for us to go back to how things were."
you stood up, putting your phone in your pocket. "nakyoung, you need to stop. i’m not going back to you. ever. you hurt me, and i’m happy with xinyu. so please, just leave me alone."
her expression faltered for a second, but she quickly recovered, taking a step closer. "you don’t mean that. you’re just mad at me."
you tried to keep your voice steady. "no, nakyoung, i mean every word. i don’t plan on leaving xinyu anytime soon, so just… move on... again."
before nakyoung could respond, the door to the lecture hall swung open, and nien, kaede, and chaeyeon emerged from their class. the three of them spotted you instantly, and it didn’t take long for them to notice nakyoung standing uncomfortably close to you.
"yn!" nien called out, her voice immediately cutting through the tension. her eyes narrowed as she took in the scene.
kaede’s face darkened when she saw nakyoung. "fuck are you doing here?" she asked, already walking over to stand next to you.
chaeyeon seemed unsure at first but quickly made her way over as well. "valid question, cause i sure as hell didn't invite her."
nakyoung crossed her arms defensively. "i was just talking to yn."
"about what?" nien asked, her tone cold.
"none of your business," nakyoung shot back, her voice sharper now.
kaede scoffed, stepping in front of you like a human shield. "it actually is our business. especially when you’re basically harassing yn."
nakyoung’s jaw tightened. "i’m not harassing her. i just wanted to talk."
"well, she doesn’t want to talk to you," nien interjected, crossing her arms. "she’s made that pretty clear, hasn’t she?"
nakyoung turned to chaeyeon, hoping for some backup. "chaeyeon, come on. you know yn and i were good together. can’t you talk some sense into them?"
chaeyeon frowned, clearly uncomfortable with the whole situation. "nakyoung… i think it’s time to let this go."
nakyoung’s face dropped as if she hadn’t expected chaeyeon to take your side. she opened her mouth to argue, but kaede cut her off.
"seriously, nakyoung," kaede said, her voice firm. "we used to be friends so i know you understand the concept of leaving somebody alone."
"exactly," nien added. "we’re not letting you ruin things for her again."
nakyoung looked at you one last time, her expression torn between anger and frustration. "fine," she muttered under her breath before turning on her heel and walking away without another word.
you exhaled, feeling the tension finally leave your body as she disappeared down the hallway.
"are you okay?" nien asked, placing a hand on your shoulder.
"yeah," you replied, though your voice was still a bit shaky. "thanks for stepping in. she just… doesn't get that i don't want her anymore."
kaede rolled her eyes. "she’s delusional if she thinks you’re going back to her after everything she put you through."
chaeyeon gave you a sympathetic smile. "i’m sorry it had to go down like that, yn. i didn’t think nakyoung would push it this far."
"it’s not your fault," you said quickly. "i just… i’m glad you guys showed up when you did."
"we’re always gonna have your back," nien said with a grin. "yn protection squad for life."
you laughed, feeling a sense of relief wash over you. "real ones. i just hope she'll stop after this."
"she better," kaede muttered, glancing down the hall where nakyoung had disappeared. "otherwise, next time, i’m actually gonna have to start biting bitches."

reblogging bcs i have a lot of thoughts
i fucking HATED how Jon treated him s1, we also have to remember that before we see ANYTHING of Martin straight from the horses mouth, we see him from Jon’s pov. And Martin probably wasn’t very good at his job, but that’s reasonable since he transferred from the library to an archive, he most certainly didn’t expect to be in research 2.0. Martin has no clue how to do his job and he couldn’t let anyone know that because he wasn’t even supposed to be there. The reason i started liking Martin was because i hated Jon, and the reason i hated Jon was because he was mean to Martin. My thought process was thus; Jon’s an Ass to Martin for really no reason, so I’m going to like Martin to spite Jon
Now, i too sorta dislike s5 Martin, when i first listened i found him to be really whiny and kinda ungrateful. During my relisten a lot of the problems i had with him were lessened because i was just so unuse to this new Martin, and before, he would do everything I would, but now he was a lot different, which gave me whiplash. it’s like expecting the driver in a car to take a turn and then they just don’t, you can’t blame them but there’s a sense of wrongness in your stomach. Now again most of these problems i had were fixed when i relistened, knowing what was going to happen, and that was my main complaint with s5 in general, expecting a turn and the driver just keeps going straight
Now going back to s1 (since i realized i didn’t explain my point very well). When ever Jon talked about what Martin did it was heavily biased, and whenever we hear Martin talk it’s around Jon. Around the person he doesn’t want to get in trouble by. We heard in the beginning of s5 tapes that Sasha and Tim were a lot different then when being recorded in s1, so obviously Martin (with a more easily identifiable reason) would also be a lot different. Then when everything went down and he dropped the act a little, we do know he was still acting. The tapes we get in s3 before the Unknowing are the closest thing we get to him being genuine, and even still he doesn’t want to admit how much of an asshole he is.
Now it’s fine if you don’t like Martin, he’s specifically written as a very complex person, and that means that sometimes people just hate him for no reason. But I dislike the criticism that his personality was very touch and go, it’s just that we didn’t know what was actually going on in his head until end of s4 and s5.
Now my defense of why I like Martin is;
He has a very heavy faun response, which same, and that aspect makes him really interesting to me. Being manipulative and having a heavy faun response are the same, but are seen differently.
i detest the idea that he is never in the wrong or that he’s just a sweet cinnamon roll. Martin, early on, just follows the lead to anyone who makes it seem like they understand even a little, then does a full 180 into thinking he knows what’s right and wrong without any input from anyone. Then realizes that, he really doesn’t know, nobody does, and he still thinks he knows better more often than not, but he recognizes this in himself. There is no ends to anyone’s character arcs in TMA, they still grow and struggle with the same things, but they find new solutions and new problems. And i think all of that is really interesting! It adds to the tragedy, it’s fine if a character dies when they are finished atoning for whatever narrative sin they have be set up with, but it’s tragic when they never get to! They are told what they need to do, and try to do it, but die before they can. Sasha died before she could be anything but a memory, someone who almost just haunts the narrative. Tim died in a noble way, but ultimately pointless one, as we come to find out. He is still just as angry, and he still didn’t bring the two people he wanted to save back from the dead. He didn’t win, even if he and everyone else thought so. He could’ve healed, but he killed himself before he could. And Martin tries like hell to figure out how to listen to people without only listening to him, and he fails a lot, a LOT a lot. But he died before he could just relax. Jon was the same, he got too deep and thought that, with enough time, he could figure out a way, not out of the hole, but closer to the surface. And he would’ve, if given the time. But he was dragged back into the same bullshit by the same man and by the same fear.
sorry that one was a lot longer but yk.
Martin is also stubborn. He was endlessly patient with Jon early s5, and the idea that he’s impatient the rest of the season i disagree with. He is just very careful with what he gives his time, maybe a bit to careful, but again with him over-course correcting. But he is still very stubborn, which i feel like is a good word between perseverance and determination. He knows that they will find a way to get everyone safe, as much as possible. He is too patient to believe the easy answer, and too persistent to allow everyone else to settle for that either. He does dumb things sometimes, but when has a tma character not? but is still fiercely protective of his people and ideals. if not a bit misguided at times
I'll be so honest with y'all, I always thought Martin was written to be an intentionally dislikeable character (like s1 Jon) for like character development or something, and then I was even MORE sure of that by season 5, and then they just kinda never touched on it and the fandom was all obsessing over him and it's like?? What do y'all see in him unless you relate to him omg 😨
#sorry this is really long#again#lots of thoughts#the magnus archives#tma#tma podcast#martin blackwood hate#anti martin blackwood#martin blackwood slander#jonathan sims#jon tma#martin tma#also sorry this is really rambly#i used my free hour to do this#and it took up all of the time
