The Knight Dragon has made a discovery. He isn’t sure how this mysterious egg got here, but has the strangest desire to protect it just as much as he protects the Light Dragon.
Here is a commission I ordered from CherryRabbu on Twitter. It’s so cute, thanks so much! ✨
Since all the immortal dragons we know about prior to the Demon Dragon are female, I don’t see a reason that the Knight and Light Dragons could not have dragon offspring together in my AU. 😊

⚠️HUGE BIG SONIC PRIME SPOILERS I AND OPINIONS I GUESS UNDER CUT IDK I JUST WANT TO TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT IT BECAUSE I JUST FINISHED WATCHING IT⚠️ ok ... yeah
Ok finished watching s3 and imo it's the worst season of the show, well too bad because it was the last one I guess.
Uhhh I feel mean complaning because like, idk, I feel being a sonic fan makes me such a hater omg, but also even though I complain about stuff it doesnt mean that I hate it.. just I have thoughts on it....
Well I feel this last season was the worst one because it felt like it really didn't do anything? No development or much interaction between the characters, blackrose becoming a captain felt out of nowhere to me? so much of the season was spent on the "final battle" and that also took me out of it a lot.
This is a general complain of the whole series but I dont like at all how they handled rouge, I was also expecting at least a bit of something to happen when a version of her and shadow got to meet again but there was nothing??? reallly???????????????????
This is a general complain but for a while I've felt like omg... at rouge slowly being integrated into sonic's group of friends because they need more girls in there, because I feel like they are doing so by taking things out of rouge's personality? I havent played the sonic dream game so I don't know how she's handled there but at least in prime the fact that none of her counterparts had anything to do with her feels so off (Though I guess the, new yok one I GUESS you could say that she has elements of her being the team dark leader?) how do you have a pirate rouge that is like... so unfazed about treasure come on.
Ok uhhh what else.... I'm sooo sorry but I couldn't care much about the counterparts, I guess they have interesting parts of them and could like, be interesting in an analysis way of which aspects of their original counterparts they take but I also feel that wasn't developed enough... I think the one that got the best of it was amy, then knuckles.
I'm not counting nine because he's basically a new character (in exchange the other 2 tailses are barely anything), and tbh one of my fav aspects of the whole show? I love him? I think he should be able to do whatever he wants ever imo, he can do anything.
What else... well I love Shadow but at points I was also like :0 at how he was in this, he was so nice at points! made me go like... omg... he's so sweet compared to whatever sega has been doing with him these past years so at certain points that took me out but still I like him...
When he didn't show up at the final battle I was like, omg are they going to reveal that due to him being in the other world due to chaos emerald energy he actually couldn't make it back/is dead? but he wasn't, he should get to die again at some point again imo.
W-well thats it I think... as a last note (maybe) I have to clarify I didnt hate the show! I just have alot of opinions about it, also I just remembered I forgot to talk about the egg guys, I liked them.
Also I just finished watching it so I'm at my screaming and yelling point of the show and maybe my thoughts on it will mellow out later or I will think better of stuff ok, I just have to get this out rn
ALSO
Edit. this part didnt matter so I took it out
Ok this is it!! maybe I'lk think more about it later or another day I just.. have to talk about it rn... I'm going to yell if tumblr eats this post out I've written so much ahhhh ok this is it

Forging Ties - Chapter 22 - Part 1
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Skye peeked over the edge of the crows-nest and watched as Perry laid out a blanket at its base.
It was night time and everyone else had already gone to bed.
"What are you doing, skull man?" Skye asked.
"Perry," Perry reminded him.
"I'm sleeping out here tonight. You shouldn't have to be alone."
"Maybe I want to be alone."
Perry paused his bed making.
"Do you want to be alone?"
Skye shrugged.
"I don't know. I'm not going to talk about it, though."
"Okay. I won't make you talk about whatever upset you."
"You couldn't make me."
"That's true. I meant that I won't try."
"Hmm," Skye said.
"People are always saying things they don't mean."
"Is that why you're upset? Did someone mislead you?"
"No. Why would it be that?"
"I don't know. The way you said it."
"Oh," Skye said.
"People are always reading meaning into the things that I say and the way that I say them that isn't there."
"Why don't you come down?" Perry suggested.
"It's too late to be raising our voices to talk and this bed I made is big enough for two."
Skye twisted his lips together.
"You're not going to grope me, are you? I am not in the mood for being groped."
"And I am not attracted to men. I'm just trying to be kind, Skye."
"Why?"
"Hmm," Perry mused as he fluffed up one of the pillows he'd brought out with him.
"I suppose, having seen precious little of it for a long time, I've come to realise the value of kindness. The difference it can make and often at no real cost to offer it. I don't know if my being here is of any comfort to you but I wanted to try."
"Oh, no, I mean why aren't you attracted to men?" Skye asked, chin perched on the edge of the crows-nest.
"Men are pretty attractive."
"Well, why aren't you attracted to women?"
"I never said I wasn't attracted to women."
"That's true," Perry said.
"Well, I don't know. It's just the way that I've always been."
"Yeah, I'm bad at things too sometimes," Skye said.
"Okay. I will share the bed."
Skye climbed down from the crows-nest and settled in on the blanket while Perry finished making up the bed.
Perry looked like he should smell but he didn't.
"When you brush your teeth, where do you stop?" Skye asked.
"Ah, well, my whole cleaning process looks a little different from most people's," Perry said.
"You're very candid, aren't you?"
"Does that mean rude?"
"No. I didn't think that was your intention. It just means you say what's on your mind."
"Oh," Skye said.
He wasn't sure if that was true.
Sometimes he said very little and he often struggled with putting things into words.
Or at least words that other people understood.
A lot of the time, he just couldn't be bothered trying.
Even when he said exactly what he meant in the simplest way he could think of, people often still seemed confused by him.
Perry lay down next to Skye on the blanket and let out a satisfied sigh.
"It's a nice night. I quite like sailing."
"Oh," Skye said.
"I drowned once but it's okay I guess."
"That sounds like quite a story. Do you want to talk about it?"
"No."
Perry let out a quiet laugh.
"Okay. Is there anything you do want to talk about?"
"No."
"That's okay, too."
Perry pulled another blanket over them and rolled onto his side.
"Goodnight, Skye."
********
Skye was perched on the ship's railing, staring out at the dock and the small town beyond.
He had been out here for an hour at least, probably.
He didn't know how to tell time but it felt like a while.
"What's wrong?" Miriam asked as she wheeled over in her chair, the egg resting on her lap.
It was extra sparkly out in the sunshine.
"I'm sad," Skye said.
"I noticed. What's on your mind?"
"I was thinking of maybe just walking away and trying to forget everything again so I could stop being sad."
"Forget everything again?"
Skye let out a deep sigh.
"Yeah. I forgot all the things I was sad about for a long time but then a dumb ghost made me remember and now I have to be sad again, so. Maybe I should just go back to forgetting."
"Oh," Miriam said.
"I'm not sure I understand the whole thing with the ghost but I know you well enough to know that you'll only put up with so many questions, so I'll pick them carefully. What did the ghost make you remember that's making you sad?"
"My friend died," Skye said.
"I'm trying to still not remember that part so I can pretend he didn't but if he was alive, I'd still be with him."
"Oh, Skye. I'm so sorry."
"I'm pretty sure it wasn't your fault."
"I just mean that I sympathise. Death is never easy," Miriam said.
"But, Skye, you know you can't escape it by forgetting, don't you?"
Skye lifted his knees and hunched himself up on the railing.
"Well, I did for a long time, so I think you're wrong. I'm very good at forgetting."
"But the hurt was still there when you remembered, fresh and painful. It doesn't get better by running from it. You need to let yourself grieve. It's not easy but not doing it is like leaving an open wound."
"What if it never stops hurting?"
"It might always hurt a bit but I promise it will get better," Miriam said.
"You just have to let yourself have feelings, no matter how much they hurt."
"What if nobody ever loves me again?"
"I love you, Skye. Maybe not in the same way as this friend of yours did. I don't know what your relationship with him was like. But I do love you and I'll be here for you if you need me. Please don't run away."
"Okay," Skye said. "Miriam?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you pet my hair?"
Miriam let out a quiet laugh.
"Okay."

Good Morning Indeed
absolutely no plot whatsoever, just a bit of husband and dad harry in the midst of the family’s morning chaos 😂
Tumblr media
Harry
“Go get the condom on.”
“I’ll pull out, I promise.”
“Your pull out game is weak.”
“Oi, them’s fightin’ words.”
“There’s a reason we’ve got six kids.” Says the missus with a roll of those pretty—but sometimes deadly (please don’t tell her I said this)—eyes. “‘Sides, I’ve just changed the sheets yesterday. You are not coming on the sodding sheets.”
“Fine,” I sigh and reach down to the bedside table. Why is the drawer filled with sodding Duplo and those tiny, pricey Sylvanian Family bunnies? I’m guessing kid number two, three and four have something to do with that. A few more seconds of rummaging before I finally found my treasure in the very back of the drawer. I lay on my back as I sheath myself up, and seeing as I’m already here… might as well, right? I smirk at her as I say, “hop on then.”
“Fat chance that,” she mutters. “Do I have to take off my top?”
“Nah,” I shake my head, it’s cold, and I’m a considerate husband. “A flash will do. Just give me a visual.”
She rolls up my shirt that she wears to sleep, a really old white rolling stones t-shirt that has two holes and a loose thread hanging on for dear life from the hem. She looks homeless. Gorgeous homeless though.
“Nice,” I flash her a boyish grin, like a teenage boy seeing his first pair of tits. “You’ve got great racks.”
“You’re just saying that…”
I know what she sees when she looks at herself in the mirror and I wish she could look at herself through my eyes.
“Hey, don’t you dare. My babies grew in that body, that’s everything.”
Her tender smile hits me right in the gut. “I love you.”
“Love me enough to ride me?” I say with a playful flick to one nipple.
“Nice try.”
“I love you,” I mutter near her mouth and give her a searing kiss. I run my tongue over her bottom lip, then I kiss her down her neck, her cleavage and her breasts. I slowly circle one nipple, and she giggles, knowing it’s a well-rehearsed move that is guaranteed to do what’s needed. See, her tits are kind of like start buttons. No matter the situation, a little attention to those bad boys switches things around real quick. Her head slams back against the pillow. And she moans, holding my head in place.
We’ve got ignition lads.
I nestle my body on top of hers, and there’s a bit of wayward angling and poking until I find my way inside of her. And then it’s on. Two bodies writhing on the bed. My hips rotate in long, slow circles.
“Bollocks!”
“What? The condom isn’t broken, is it?”
“No, it’s bin day. I forgot to take out the recycling bin.”
“S’fine, we’ve got time before the school run.”
The bin’s sorted, back to the shag…
I slide my hands under her, bringing us closer. Rocking us faster. My forehead hovers close to hers and I open my eyes so I can watch. What can I say? I’m greedy like that. I want to soak up every gasp, every flicker of pleasure across her face. Pleasure I’m giving her.
Her breathing changes. It turns panting and desperate, and I know she’s close. I move harder, grinding against her, inside her, with every forward push. Warms sparks tickle my spine and heat spreads down until every nerve in my body is shaking. I slam inside her, burying deep as her hips jerk upward. She spasms hard around me, gripping me tight.
I rock back my hips and pull almost all the way out, but then I freeze. Because a dreaded sound echoes across the room, grabbing our full attention. It’s coming from the baby monitor. It’s a rustling, the sound of cotton rubbing cotton. Like snipers in the jungle, we don’t move a muscle. We don’t say a word. We wait, until the rustling stops. And all is quiet again.
Too bad it’s not for long. Because two thrusts in, a light comes on in the landing. Followed by small footsteps heading down the stairs. Shit.
“Harry, just come already. They’ll all be up soon.”
“I’m close… don’t rush it, you’re scaring it away.”
She grinds her hips. Also another well-rehearsed move that she knows will get me off. But I freeze again, because there’s a second set of footsteps and the sound of a toilet flushing. Oh, and the babies next door are starting to whimper.
Great.
“I’M HUNGRY!” That’s James, darling little cockblocker number four who likes to be fed on time. He’s three.
“WE’LL BE OUT IN A SECOND!” My wife shouts over my shoulder. “Harry for the love of god-”
I pick up the rhythm. Small beads of sweat form on my brow. She grinds her hips again, and I try to focus. “Just like that, fuck, keep doing that.”
“Sshh, keep your voice down.”
“IS THERE ANY BREAD THAT ISN’T 50/50?” That’s Eleanor, child number two. She’s seven, and she’s one of those children who seem to possess a discernible palate that knows when we’ve changed brands of baked beans or attempt to bring sugar-free fruit squash through the doors.
“IT’S THE SAME,” I reply.
“NO, IT’S NOT. DO WE HAVE OTHER FOOD?”
“THERE ARE SHREDDIES.”
“DON’T LIKE ‘EM.”
“PORRIDGE.”
“I’M NOT A BEAR!”
Honestly, seven-year-olds gunning for a fight this early in the morning can go do one.
The babies are starting to gather volume next door so I try to focus again. It only takes a few more thrusts before ecstasy wrecks my body, making me shudder. I press my lips against her neck as I come back down to earth. But I don’t move yet. I know we should get going because things are already chaotic outside our door, but I just don’t have the will yet. I’m considering going back to sleep for a minute or two. She won’t mind, will she? Well, I’m wrong. Because she proceeds to perform the move that seems to amuse every sodding woman on earth. And causes every man to squeal like a bloody pig. Without warning, she uses her powerful muscle to squeeze my extremely sensitive cock.
Girls, grab a piece of paper and write this down. I’m speaking on behalf of every man to walk on earth here; we hate that. We don’t think it’s funny.
I jerk back, pull out, and roll off her. I try to look annoyed as she giggles, and obviously I fail, because that freshly fucked, flushed-face makes it impossible not to grin back.
“CAN I HAVE JAFFA CAKE?” That’s Victoria, child number three. She’s five, and she’s yelling as she thunders up the stairs.
“JAFFA CAKE ISN’T BREAKFAST,” my wife shouts back as she sits up and hands me a nappy sack. “Harry…”
I wrap up the condom with it and toss it to the bin. “You’ve just taken me life force, woman, give me a moment.”
“CUSTARD CREAM?”
“NO.” We shout in unison.
“HOBNOB THEN?”
“STAY AWAY FROM THE BISCUIT TIN!”
“You want to wrestle a biscuit-hunting kid out of a cupboard and 50/50 bread drama or fussy babies with full nappies?”
“Babies.” I hear a small child get whacked by a sibling downstairs and I feel like I may have got the better deal here.
Next door, the twins are not happy. They’re six months old now, and they’re both teething. Thing one glares at me as I walk into their nursery and thing two stares at me stroppily from the corner of her cot. Their cheeks are scarlet, and thing one proceeds to bark at me like a seal. I pick his warm, sleepy, cuddly body and cradle it close to mine as I lay him down on the changing table. I smell the dampness. It’s definitely wee. He’s soaked through, I think I didn’t tuck his willy in when I last changed him around three in the morning so it sprayed in some upward motion and drenched his clothes. See, this is why girls are better than boys. There’s no way they can pee upwards.
After I put a fresh nappy and a change of clothes, I put him down on the rug so he can wiggle around while I grab his sister and sort her out. After six kids, I’m definitely a pro with baby duty and can practically change their clothes one-handed. The whole thing takes only a few minutes.
I cuddle the babies on each side as I walk downstairs and into the kitchen. They immediately reach out to their mum who’s cracking some eggs as soon as they spot her, knowing she’s the only one who can cure their hunger this morning.
“Uniforms!” She says to the big kids as she takes one baby into her arms. “We’ll do breakfast after. Please, please, please…”
Desperate pleas lead them to saunter out and up the stairs. I follow my wife into the living room and hand her the other baby as she plops down on the couch. She rolls up her shirt and the babies latch instantly. Tandem nursing is harder now that they’re a little older and aware of their surroundings. They’re trying to scratch each other’s faces as they nurse. “Oi, what’s this? You each get a tit, stop fighting.”
They seem to somehow listen to me and have stopped trying to poke each other’s eyeballs. We’ll see how long that lasts. “Finish the eggs?”
I nod. “I’m on it.”
I brew some coffee, finish the scrambled eggs, and pop the slices after slices of bread in the toaster. Breakfast is done just in time as my wife walks back into the kitchen with two full and happy babies. She puts them in their high chairs and I scoop a bit of eggs on each of their trays for them to nibble on.
George appears back in the kitchen clad in his uniform with his also dressed brother trailing behind. We always lay his clothes the night before on his bed and he gets dressed all by himself in the morning. And he’s getting better at it, seeing he only missed a button on his shirt.
“Hi mate,” I say as I fix his button and he flashes a toothy grin at me. I plop him down on the chair, he’s graduated from the high chair now but still uses a booster seat.
“No toast!”
“What do you want then?”
“Chee-yos?”
I nod before I grab a handful of cheerios and set them on his plate next to his eggs. Then I take a few steps back across the table. “Hey, James, set it up.”
He flashes me another toothy grin before he opens his mouth wide and keeps it open. I hold a single Cheerio between my fingers while I bend my knees and bounce my hand as if I were dribbling a basketball. “Three seconds left on the clock, down by one. Styles got the ball. He fakes left, he drives in, he shoots…”
I toss the Cheerios in a high arc. It lands right into his mouth.
“He scores! The crowd goes wild!”
James holds both hands over his head. “Core!”
“Viv stole the biscuit tin, you know? She ate three jammie dodgers upstairs.” Eleanor says as she walks in with book bags and school shoes.
George, seeing his sister walks in, proceeds to open his mouth wide and flashes her the half-chewed eggs on his tongue. It’s his current thing and it annoys his sisters to death. The young’uns think differently though as they double over in laughter.
“Eeewww!” She shrieks. “You’re so gross!”
“VICTORIA, PUT THAT BISCUIT TIN DOWN AND GET YOUR BUTT IN THE KITCHEN! AND GO GET THEM HAIR TIE THINGIES…”
“I didn’t have any biscuits!” She yells and runs down the stairs.
This kid is the quintessential daddy’s girl. She climbs up onto my lap right away, handing me the brush and a hair tie.
“See, poppet, I would’ve believed you if you didn’t leave evidence all over your face,” I arch one of my eyebrows as I sweep a speck of raspberry jam on the corner of her mouth.
“You always do a ponytail,” she huffs.
“Either that or I give you a bowl cut with kitchen scissors. I reckon that fruit bowl will do. Your choice.”
“Can I have some more eggs?” George asks with his mouth full of his last bite.
“God, that’s like your third serving,” Eleanor grumbles.
“Nag.”
At that insult, Eleanor flings a piece of toast like a ninja. Before George can retaliate, my wife gives them both the look.
“Viv, will you at least have some eggs?”
“No.”
“Fine,” my wife sighs. “I’m gonna get changed then.”
I glance at the clock and, well, shit, I should get dressed too. “Can you lot watch the babies and try not to kill each other for the next five minutes?”
“Five quid each?” Eleanor tries to negotiate. “Babysitting isn’t supposed to be free, you know? That sounds like child labour to me.”
Bollocks.
“Two quid each,” I give her my dad look that says the offer is final and indisputable.
“Deal.”

Tumblr media
SERIES MASTERLIST
Warnings: Some angst, language, eventual smut in future chapters, fluff
Word Count: 5255

A/N:  I am HYPE to post this new chapter! Omg I just love writing this series so much its so fun writing Tom like this lol. Also low key...this chapter has an easter egg to a pervious series of mine and I’m v curious if anyone catches it but probably not because its superrr tiny but either way I hope you guys like this one! Obviously, smut is in this chapter! DM me to be tagged and I cannot wait to hear everyone’s thoughts! (Also .gif is not mine. DM me for credit please, I found on google!) Thank you xx -N
“What happened to that girl you took home the other night from The Lace Rabbit?” Harrison asked as he ordered his lunch before he took a seat at the table with Tom. It was typical for them to meet up during the week on their lunch breaks and catch up when they were not busy being wingmen for the other while bar hopping on the weekends.
Tom shrugged off Harrison’s question as he took a bite of his sandwich, “She got a little clingy so I had Y/N help me get rid of her,” he smiled as he said your name out loud. His friends knew of you as the hot girl who lived next door who bailed him out of sticky situations. Always teasing Tom how he could never actually get you. The irony made it all too funny for him, “How’d it go with that blonde girl?” he asked to change the subject off of him.
He didn’t know if he should bring up the two of you sleeping together with Harrison. Harrison was his best friend and wouldn’t judge but he knew he’d give Tom shit for it. He’d want to know details of your arrangement or how it came about, if you were really that good and Tom didn’t feel comfortable answering that. Not if it was about you. He didn’t want his other friends knowing about you in the way he did. That was personal between you both and he wanted to show you he respected you.
“It didn’t,” Harrison admitted while taking a sip of his water. He let out a chuckle as he felt himself blushing, “Forgot her name and she spilt her drink on me. Can’t say I didn’t deserve that one,” he at least knew when he was in the wrong.
Tom cringed into his sandwich as he let out a cackle, “You definitely deserved it, mate,” he laughed with another bite. His phone vibrated in his pocket but he chose to ignore it, knowing like clock work what it probably was. It was going to ruin the rest of his day and he at least wanted to enjoy lunch with his friend before getting pissed off for the day.
“She’d probably love you,” Harrison teased.
“Fuck off,” Tom rolled his eyes with a laugh. “I’m not taking your angry seconds.”
“Don’t knock angry sex til you try it,” Harrison smirked knowingly.
Tom shook his head as he once again ignored the phone ringing, “I think I’m good, thanks,” he brushed it off with another eyeroll.
He didn’t know why he suddenly felt weird talking about their last venture out at the club. Maybe it was because Tom knew where he ended up after that girl had left and he knew what that meant for the both of you. But Tom wasn’t done with his bachelor days, and even you knew that. Hell, you practically insisted since this was a no strings attached deal.
It just felt strange not telling Harrison about you. Like it was a weird secret. But at the same time, he felt oddly protective of you. Not wanting his friends to see you as some girl he was getting laid with. Or worse, a potential love interest. He knew it wasn’t going to happen. Hell would be freezing over before Tom decided on any sort of long term obligation. But he knew his friends and he knew they wouldn’t see this is a simple agreement between two friends. And he didn’t want to deal with that conversation.
Staying quiet was the better option. For his own sanity. And...well, would you care if he told anyone about this? Tom figured that was another rule he’d have to ask about. He didn’t want to overstep any boundaries and he knew you had a list of rules as well that he was happy to follow. As long as that meant one thing and one thing only: non-exclusive.
Harrison noticed Tom’s phone buzzing for the third time. And Tom ignored it for the third time. He checked the message with a huff of his breath before turning the screen face down on the table, going back to his lunch before he had to get back to work.
“Clingy girl?” Harrison nodded towards Tom’s phone.
Tom shook his head, “My mother was supposed to visit this weekend but you know the routine,” he mumbled into his food, not even wanting to respond to her.
“Let me guess,” Harrison began, knowing exactly where this was going since he knew Tom’s whole story inside and out. Including the bits he hated to discuss which was mainly his family, “Going skiing with Clint in Veil instead?” he questioned knowingly.
Tom scoffed out a laugh at his guess, “Surfing with Clint in Malibu but same shit,” he corrected as he tried not to let it get to him. But even Harrison could tell he was getting bothered by it once again and who could honestly blame him.
Always the same story every time no matter what and Tom grew tired of her antics. He couldn’t even blame Clint for it anymore considering she’d been this way since he was a kid before he was even in the picture. Only now she would just use him as the perfect excuse to get out of coming to visit.
He knew he shouldn’t care anymore but he couldn’t help it. It wasn’t something easy for him to simply let go of. It was his mother. And no matter how many times he’d try she would always give him back the bare minimum and it always made him upset. She was his one final connection to him and she could care less about any of it, so why did Tom? It always got under his skin and he loathed that it did.
But he would still invite her. No matter how miserable it made him.
“Well at least now you’re free this weekend,” Harrison broke his thought while he gathered their garbage before they headed back to work, “The usual at The Lace Rabbit this Saturday then?” he suggested with a knowing smile to try and get Tom out of his mood.
Grabbing his phone, Tom clutched it tightly as he inhaled sharply. Knowing his change of plans meant doing his normal routine even though he was looking forward to the slight change this weekend, which now just seemed bleak to him
.
“Yeah,” Tom agreed as he tapped your name on his phone but hesitated when he saw his mother trying to call for a fourth time, “The usual this weekend.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your chest tensed as you got into your car after your extremely long day in the office. Everything around you felt heavy and you couldn’t wait to get home as soon as you could but you found yourself still frozen in your car. Unable to move as the moments from earlier this afternoon invaded your thoughts once again while you tried your best to move in. Even though you knew you were completely grief stricken and didn’t know what the hell to do.
The promotion was yours, at least you had thought it was by the way your boss would constantly hint at it. You knew it was never a definite thing, but you were confident in the hard work you had put into your job and knew you were a top contender for the spot. You worked longer hours, took on extra tasks, you even worked on the occasional weekend to get your work done. Taking every precaution necessary to prove that you were the best fit for the role.
Everything felt like it was lining up for you. Co-workers were giving you a pat on the back for your work accomplishments, your boss was taking note of everything you were doing, and you overall felt really good about where you stood for the potential position. So imagine your surprise when you attended the big luncheon and your boss announced his undeserving son was getting the spot instead of you.
It was both nepotism and misogyny rolled into one and it made your stomach turn the longer you had thought about it. None of it made any sense and it was far from fair. You knew you were the one more deserving of the position, the whole office knew it. Even your damn boss knew but he chose his damn son over you and it felt like a stab right to your gut.
You felt so betrayed and beside yourself as you finally decided to head home. Tears streamed down your cheeks while you tried to focus on the road but you just couldn’t ignore the facts. How were you going to be able to show up and take orders now from your boss’ son? You knew the job more than he did and it felt like a huge screw you.
On your drive home, you tried to make yourself feel better by putting on some music to distract yourself but nothing helped. You felt beyond defeated and frustrated right now you didn’t know what was going to make you feel better at the moment. It felt like the world was against you. Between finding Justin with another woman and your job, you were really batting one thousand lately and you weren’t sure when you would catch a break.
Things were not going how you planned at all. The thought of just quitting your job and starting all over again crossed your mind but the fear of the unknown kept haunting you. You didn’t know which direction to go in or who to turn to for advice anymore. You were slowly drowning and you needed someone to throw you a goddamn life jacket already.
You were relieved to finally be home. Maybe some peace and quiet would make you feel a little better, you thought to yourself while you kicked your shoes off and turned some music on for yourself. Trying to put the day behind you and focus on the present moment while you got changed into more comfortable clothes to unwind.
You jumped out of your skin when you heard a knock at your door, not expecting anybody to come by right now. Pulling your hair up into a bun, you headed back towards the door and looked through the peephole. To your surprise, you weren’t really surprised at all. You were actually sort of relieved when you opened the door and saw Tom standing there holding a pizza box.
“That better have extra cheese,” you asked with a narrowed expression while you invited him inside with the pizza that he would always bring you even in normal times.
Placing the box on the kitchen table, Tom opened it with a grin as he showed you the pizza pie with cheese practically oozing from the crusts, “Figured it was an extra toppings sort of day,” he admitted, knowing he really needed the escape from reality. Even if it was just a pizza.
“Tell me about it,” you sighed as you grabbed a piece closest to you as Tom handed you a paper plate. You headed over towards your refrigerator to grab you both a few beers while Tom leaned up against your kitchen counter as he devoured his slice, “I’m guessing you had a bad day judging by your pizza presentation?” knowing there wasn’t really any particular reason he’d be coming over with it today. Unless if he wanted something?
You slowed your pace back from the fridge wondering if he was going to pick up on how you were feeling. You weren’t entirely sure if you wanted him to notice. Whenever you and Tom had a pizza night it was merely to gossip about your lunatic neighbors or watch a game together. You talked about casual things but never really gone into depth or prying into each other’s lives. Why did it feel like suddenly you wanted something different? Would sex change that much in your friendship?
“We can just ignore that...we don’t have to talk about unimportant stuff,” you waved it off. Tom didn’t need to hear about your miserable day. And you didn’t want to pry into his.
He swallowed the last bite of his slice, “If something makes you upset, it’s not unimportant,” he noted. But when he noticed you just looking at him, he raised his hands in surrender. “Ignore my philosophical ass. But I’d like to hear about your day, you know,” he laughed it off.
What the hell was he doing? He thought to himself. Don’t let personal shit ruin this. Enjoy her company. That’s it.
“I didn’t get the promotion,” you told him. You had mentioned to Tom a while ago that your boss was hinting at it but you never went into detail with him about it. You weren’t used to Tom actually wanting to be open or the other way around. And you’d be lying if you said you weren’t slightly surprised Tom even gave a crap about stuff like this.
Tom frowned at your answer and he felt his heart sink a bit when you told him the truth about your bad day. He didn’t know much about your job but he was sure you were a hard worker. He saw how much you loved your job and how passionate you were about it when it would come up. You would share upcoming projects with him from time to time and he would see the look on your face whenever you explained them to him. So hearing that you were passed by for a promotion was upsetting to him.
“I...shit, Y/N,” he put his pizza down as he walked over towards to give you a hug. Sliding his hands around your waist he pulled you into him as he felt you relax against his chest, “You didn’t deserve that,” he added softly.
You allowed Tom to embrace you, his warmness comforting you a bit before you pulled away and started crying when telling him about your boss’ son getting the job instead of you. Making you laugh by calling him every name in the book, you and Tom finally found a common ground as you kept venting to him.
Tom pulled away slowly, his hand resting at your chin while he licked his lips, “You’re boss sounds like a fucking prick, I hope you know that,” he told you reassuringly. The small smile you formed when he spoke made him want to keep making you feel better, “I’m glad you’re smiling,” he blushed at his confession.
Stretching your mouth wider, you flashed Tom a playful yet overly wide grin to deflect the attention he gave to you. The two of you laughed as Tom pulled away with a loud chuckle, shaking his head at your sudden silliness, “That has to be the most hideous smile. But we’ll work on it,” he told you through his laughter.
You rolled your eyes before going back to your pizza, giving Tom a look as you nudged him, “Not gonna tell me about what happened to you?” you finally asked.
Tom tensed as he tried to brush it off with a simple shrug into his pizza. The thought of his mother’s texts and ridiculous apologies and excuses continued to drive him crazy as he mumbled into his bite, “It’s stupid shit,” he told you as he swallowed the crust he was chewing, “Mom stuff, not important,” he added bluntly.
You could see the look on his face and could tell it was important to him but you didn’t want to force him to talk about it. Tom was never one to bring up his family ever to you and that was the first time you had ever heard him even mention his mother. He never spoke of his father, at least to you, so you just assumed both were out of his life for whatever reason and it was none of your business to ask.
And Tom refused to admit it but he wanted you to ask about him. Spending hours upon hours at bars, turning his focus always onto the girl; because he knew no girl would ever want to go home with a self righteous, egotistical guy. It was never something Tom minded to do, especially with complete strangers who he would never open up to in a million years. It might have been the recent development he had with you but there was something refreshing he felt around you and as much as it freaked him out, he didn’t seem to mind.
But diving into his mommy issues with you now seemed too much to deal with right now. You were dealing with more than enough problems with your job and your miserable ex-boyfriend, he figured you didn’t need to hear his bitching right now anyway. He came here to get away from those shitty thoughts, not open those wounds further.
Tom came here for a distraction.
Licking his lips, Tom perked up as he looked at you fervidly, “Wanna have sex?” he asked matter of factly. He figured he didn’t need to beat around the bush since you had your arrangement but maybe he was a bit too direct with his request. Tom cleared his throat as he tried to save the night, “I-I mean, I just figured since we both had shitty days that maybe we could uhm-”
“Thought you’d never ask,” you cut him off with a smirk and you perked up as well, nodding as you smoothed out your hair. Standing back up as you turned your back towards him, removing your shirt in the process, “Let’s go,” you called over your shoulder as you headed towards your room.
“Oh, we’re jumping right in,” Tom mumbled to himself as he practically fell off his chair to follow you into your room, tossing his shirt beside yours as he practically froze already seeing you completely undressed, “Christ…” he breathed out while taking you in.
You rolled your eyes as you walked over to him, bringing your lips to his now bare shoulder, “You’re really acting like you haven’t seen me like this the other day?” You laughed against his skin while you began to suck a bruise against him, hearing him let out a gasp while your hand snaked into his pants sneakily, “Beginning to really like this whole friends with benefits thing we have,” you laughed as you found Tom’s lips.
Practically growling into your kiss, Tom lifted you up and lowered you onto your back on your bed. His lips traveled from yours, to your stomach, dipping his tongue into your belly button as you moaned quietly before he brought himself down between your thighs. His lips peppering your inner thigh before he got straight to the point because this whole arrangement meant no foreplay. Another plus for Tom.
“Darling, I think you may be the best friend I’ve ever had,” Tom breathed out a laugh as he pressed his tongue flatly against your clit. Sliding two of his fingers into your core while he slowly pumped in and out of you, “This is what got me through my day today,” he told you before he brought his mouth back to your core.
You arched your back while your fingers went towards Tom’s curls. His name began to fall from your lips while he lapped his tongue carefully, letting it slip inside of you as he continued to tease you with his mouth. His fingers sliding into you again, adding a third as he moaned against your center; allowing the vibrations to roll throughout your entire body.
“Mmm, oh, fuck...!” you cried out, yanking gently against Tom’s hair as you felt the coil beginning to burn from inside of you. Biting your lip to stifle another moan, “Fuck...yo-you’re really good at that,” you breathed out with a small laugh which turned into a whimper.
With his head peering up at you, Tom flashed you a cocky smile with a playful wink as he licked your folds teasingly, “Did you seriously doubt my abilities to make you cum with my mouth, Y/N?” he raised his eyebrow while pumping his fingers now tantalizingly slow, “You’re gonna pay for that comment,” he said to you.
“Just...shut up and make me cum, Tom,” you told him through another gasp as you felt his teeth drag teasingly against your already throbbing bud. His lips wrapped around it as he sucked more harshly, doing exactly as you had asked him to do, “Ungh...oh god, okay. Yeah, keep doing that,” you instructed as you began to grind your hips against his mouth.
Tom took it as a challenge and picked up his pace, beginning to flick your clit faster while he continuously sucked on it. His three fingers now entirely coated in your warmth as he felt you clenching around them. His pants feeling tighter from his hard on while he knelt at the end of your bed trying to bring you to where he wanted.
His free hand splayed against your stomach, holding you in place while he felt you trying to squirm around from the way he was making you feel. Rubbing your clit in between his breaths, Tom looked up at you as he licked a solid stripe down your center, “Let out how you’re feeling from today and cum for me, Y/N,” Tom commanded.
Your eyes shut as you did exactly what Tom had suggested. Completely coming undone from beneath him while you released as much of the tension from earlier as you possibly could but in the most amazing way. Your eyes rolled back into your head while your back arched as Tom’s tongue continued to work you up while you were at your highest point.
Letting out a breathy laugh as you started to come down from it, feeling Tom begin to kiss his way back up your stomach with a smug look, “Don’t give me that look,” you rolled your eyes at his cockiness as his tongue traced along your neck, “I could do what you just did to myself, you know,” you tried to knock him off his high horse a bit while he pretended to be wounded from your words.
“Ah, but you didn’t. Did you?” Tom reminded you as his lips found yours. His hands still in between your thighs as he brought them between you both, showing you his coated fingers while he tasted you off of them, “Tastes like I made you cum because you wanted me to,” his smugness only elevated as he pushed himself off of you as he laid on his back on your bed.
“Need I remind you that you came to my place like a porno with a pizza looking to get laid,” you retaliated as you shifted so you were now hovering over him. Your hands guiding towards his belt buckle to get him out of his restraintive pants. The pleading look on his face made you just as smug, “Sounds like you want me to do just about the same thing, am I right or am I right?” you sang in his ear.
Tom helped you get the rest of his pants and boxers off, feeling himself spring out as he stared back at you with uncertainty, “Did you...just call me a porn star?” he questioned as the two of you let out a laugh.
“You wish, Tommy,” you teased as you ran your tongue down his abs, placing small and open kisses against his stomach as you made your way down to his legs while your hand carefully gripped his hardened length, your thumb running the pre-cum around his tip while you already heard him gasping for you.
Gripping your bedsheets with one hand, Tom reached around to create a makeshift ponytail to hold your hair. Cussing under his breath as he watched your mouth wrap around his tip, swirling your tongue around it while your eyes searched for his. He was really trying to hold it together but you were already driving him crazy.
“Let’s see what you got, Y/N,” Tom challenged you with a heavy breath as he tightened his grip around your hair, “Sometimes, girls think they know exactly what to do but-OH FUCK!”
His words were lost as soon as your mouth went straight down to his base. Suctioning as hard as you could before coming back up his cock painfully slow. Moaning your name as his chest began to heave, Tom felt his thighs start to quiver from under you. Even just watching the way you were working on him was enough to make him whimper right now.
“Fuck...okay, yeah I take that back,” Tom gasped as his nose crinkled up while his other hand white knuckled the sheets, “God, your mouth is fucking perfect. Why haven’t we done any of this shit before?” he was in such a fucked out haze, he wasn’t even sure if anything he was saying made any sense at all. But he felt his stress from earlier going away finally. Even if this was just a short state of bliss, he was grateful for it anyway.
“You really want me to answer that or would you just prefer me to keep sucking your dick?” you sassed while you kitten licked his tip. You watched from the end of the bed as Tom bucked his hips into your mouth to try and get more contact from your lips but you pulled away from him and just kept licking his tip.
God, you were good, Tom thought to himself.
‘K-keep going,” Tom finally breathed out, flinging his head against the pillow to brace for the impact.
Hollowing your cheeks, you pushed yourself all the way down his cock. Your tongue flicking the base in between as you began to feel him throb inside of your mouth. You could tell he was close so you moaned softly into his cock, watching as Tom shuddered from the sensation you just sent through him.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” Tom cried out, moaning your name as he rutted his hips into your mouth. His pupils blacked as he felt the heat rising in his body, “Shit...I’m gonna cum, Y/N,” he warned as you pulled away, running your hand down his shaft as he began to come undone for you.
His warmth spilled out into your hand and down his cock while he let go finally. The stress somewhat leaving his body as it did yours while the euphoric high peaked for him. Your lips crashed against his while his tongue parted your lips to find yours, tangling them together as he moaned against your mouth while riding out his high finally.
You waited for Tom to catch his breath before you smiled against his lips, placing a small peck against them as you pulled away with an even bigger grin, “Yeah, you’re welcome,” you gave him the same arrogant tone he gave to you moments earlier before you pecked his lips again.
After taking some time to get yourselves together mixed with the continuous fooling around underneath the sheets, you and Tom finally decided to get up and end the night. Even though he didn’t want to leave, he knew he probably shouldn’t overstay. Primarily, Tom was adamant about never spending the night at a girl’s place that he slept with. That made things complicated and he didn’t want complicated. But since you and him had rules to not make things messy, he wasn’t sure if that applied to you. For now, he wanted to play it safe so he got himself dressed again.
You pulled on an oversized t-shirt, realizing both of your hair looked a mess. Luckily you were already home and Tom was down the hall so it didn’t really matter. You wanted to say something to Tom, that you were thankful he came by tonight. You were thankful even before sex was on the table. It felt nice to have him as an ally to swing by with a pizza when he didn’t even know you needed that.
“...is it weird to say I’m glad you came by?” you gestured towards your bedroom while you walked with him out into the kitchen where the half eaten pizza was left, “I know we haven’t really made too many rules about it but…” you trailed off with a nervous laugh as you smiled at him awkwardly.
“Like we said, zero weirdness,” Tom reminded you as he padded his way over to you. He grabbed a leftover crust from the box and shoved it in his mouth, clearly starving already from the workout you had just given him. He smiled while he chewed lazily, his mouth still filled with pizza crumbs, “But I’m happy to come by when we have shit days...and make you cum as well,” he smirked deviously.
The door opened as you smiled back, “Doesn’t have to be just bad days, you know. We could...screw whenever we feel like it,” you told him, hoping that it wasn’t too much.
“Did you just say screw?” he whipped his head towards you with a loud laugh.
“Alright then, I guess I’ll just leave you to the girls who leave you unsatisfied then,” you fought back.
Tom leaned against the door with his mouth gaped open, “They do not...leave me...unsatisfied?” he questioned himself, knowing that that was true, whether he wanted to admit it or not.
“Then why are you here?” you placed a hand on your hip, feeling the smile pulling at your lips while you messed around with him. You certainly weren’t in this mood earlier before Tom came around.
Pressing his lips together, Tom rolled his eye at you, “Fine...we can screw...whenever,” he leaned in closer to you with his eyes big as he mimicked your voice when you said it, “As long as we keep this thing strictly what we intended, you can use me whenever you need, Y/N,” and he meant it.
You didn’t back away when he sealed his words with a soft kiss, paired with his trademark grin. Tom pulled away slowly, taking in the moment as he wished you a goodnight quietly before kissing you against the cheek, “Like I said, best friend I ever had,” he said softly once again.
“Am I interrupting something?” A voice broke from behind the two of you. Both of your eyes widened towards each other as you both simultaneously pivoted your heads towards the staircase where the voice was coming from.
Tom closed his eyes with a groan, pinching the bridge of his nose as he tried to ignore Harrison staring at the two of you with a crooked grin. Making it known to Tom that explaining this was going to be a lot tougher than he had imagined.

If You’ll Have Me || KSJ

➣word count: 4.3k
➣commissioned by @delacyrose224 as a part of army for AAPI! thank you so much for requesting this, I loveddddd writing this little story. I’m so soft for this man. you always have the best ideas!!
Tumblr media
“We look like idiots.”
“Yeah, well,” Jin shrugs, handing you yet another t-shirt to try on. “That can’t be helped.”
You gasp, snatching the shirt away from him and heading toward the fitting room. “Rude! I meant with all of these ridiculous clothes!”
Jin’s laughter follows you as you close the door and throw on what feels like the thirtieth gaudy t-shirt from the zoo’s souvenir shop. This one is vivid blue, which you suppose is an upgrade from the caution-cone orange Jin had you trying on a few minutes ago.
“Ok,” you call out, “ready?”
“Ready!”
Peeking out of the little room, you notice Jin sitting on the little sofa in the waiting area. He grins up at you, already wearing a matching shirt.
“Do you like it?” He asks, lips pouting out a bit as he waits for your answer.
Avoiding looking in the mirror for too long, you manage a feeble, “Yeah…it’s not as bad as the others, I guess.”
That’s all Jin needs to hear. With a clap of his hands he’s jumping up and herding you toward the front of the shop. You don’t miss the amused glances people are giving you and your boyfriend, who pauses to grab a couple of baseball caps.
“Let’s see…” he brushes some of your hair back before sliding the cap onto your head, stepping back to get the full effect. “Perfect. And, it’ll protect your scalp from the sun!”
Like a couple of walking mannequins, the two of you head up to pay for the clothes you’re now wearing. Jin has a backpack on hand for your other clothes, which you unceremoniously shove inside before zipping it shut.
The cashier offers you a wide smile as she assists with the transaction. You know what she’s thinking:do I pity or envy her?
Honestly, it’s a toss up. Of course, there’s the fact that Jin often makes you do ridiculous things (exhibit A, bright blue zoo t-shirts with roaring lions on the front and waddling penguins on the back), but then again, you don’t stop him.
Rather, you egg him on. There’s something just so adorable about the way he gets so excited for such simple things. And for today, it’s over a trip to the zoo.
Of course, you’re excited as well. Mainly to see the meerkats, which Jin will never let you live down. When you told him that the meerkats were your favorite animal, he stopped and stared at you for an unnervingly long amount of time. You had begun to wonder if you’d somehow upset him when he burst out laughing, claiming that he could see it.
“See what?” You seethed.
“The resemblance,” Jin choked out between laughter. “You’re basically a meerkat in human form!”
With a smack to his chest, you glared at him and said, “Yeah well…you’re a walrus! Yeah, a walrus!”
Needless to say, he was extremely offended and didn’t speak to you for hours. In fact, the only thing that had brought him out of his misery had been you dragging him to the souvenir shop and giving him permission to get whatever he wanted. That apparently included getting you some items as well.
“Ah, it’s such a nice day,” Jin remarks the second you step outside. His hand slips into your seamlessly, a testament to the countless times you’ve repeated the action. “Perfect day at the zoo.”
Indeed it is. The sun is shining, there’s a cool breeze licking at the nape of your neck, and there’s fewer people than you’d expected to be here on a day like today.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it’s Tuesday morning. It would appear that most people – the sane ones, at least – are busy with work and other weekday obligations. Neither of you are, though. Jin has a rare day off and he’d had the day circled on the calendar for well over a month at this point. You had made sure a long time ago to have this day off.
“When’s the last time you went to the zoo?” You ask, glancing sidelong at your boyfriend.
Perhaps it’s his undeniable good looks or the fact that you hardly get to see each other due to your hectic schedules, but you can’t help the little sense of wonder that comes over you as your survey him in the morning sun. Somehow, you really have no idea how he does it, he manages to pull off the shirt and hat. Sure, he looks silly. But he owns the look.
It’s a wonder that he’s yours.
“Hmmm…” Jin ponders for a moment. “I think it was the last time we went together.”
You gasp. “That was like…three years ago! You seriously haven’t been since?”
Laughing at your shocked expression, Jin shakes his head. “Nope.”
Three years ago, close to the time when the two of you had first started dating, Jin wanted to take you out on a special date to celebrate the beginning of your relationship. Without telling you where you were going, you had assumed there would be a nice restaurant, maybe some sort of play or whatever else it is that fancy people do when they first begin to date.
Oh, how wrong you’d been.
Assuming that just because Jin was…well, rich, you couldn’t be more wrong about his taste in dates. When he had parked in the zoo lot and led you through the entrance, you had been waiting for the punchline.
There wasn’t any. No, he had simply wanted to spend the entire day with you. Walking around, having an “excuse to hold your hand” in Jin’s words, and somehow making you believe that crocodiles’ tails could change color when it danger. (don’t ask)
“I still think that it would be so cool to live up there,” you point to the houses in the distance, overlooking the zoo. There was a neighborhood of stately homes just a little way’s away which the two of you had snooped on after your date to the zoo all those years ago.
Jin chuckles quietly. “What if a tiger escapes and ends up in the yard?”
You shrug. “I guess it makes for a good excuse to always keep a steak in the fridge. I’ll lure it away with that.”
“Absolute genius,” your boyfriend hums, making you scrunch up your nose at his obvious sarcasm. “So, where should we begin?”
“At the beginning?”
Laughing jovially (honestly, the best thing about Jin is the fact that he thinks you’re funny), the two of you set down a little path which will take you to a butterfly exhibit.
“Agh, I forgot how hot it is in here,” you mutter the second you step inside. Plants of all different shapes and sizes loom over and around you, home to several different kinds of butterflies. A few stray butterflies flutter overhead, making you temporarily forget the humidity of the greenhouse.
Jin ooh’s and ah’s over the bright yellow butterfly that brushes past him. “Did you see that? It nearly landed on my nose!”
“Aw, it recognizes a Disney Princess when it sees one,” you coo, earning a half-hearted glare from Jin.
“I thought we discussed this,” he grumbles. “I’m Flynn Rider.”
“Right. My bad. Who am I again?”
A giant grin splitting his features, Jin wiggles his eyebrows at you. “Mother Gothel, obviously.” The slap to his right butt-cheek echoes through the greenhouse, quickly followed by his yowl of pain.
Pretending to wipe tears from his eyes, Jin limps after you as you continue through the greenhouse.
“You’re lucky nobody was in here to see that,” he says. “They could send you away for treating me so horribly. I mean, look! I bring you to the zoo, I buy you a nice shirt, I let you choose where we go first-”
Whirling around to face your boyfriend only to find a knowing smirk already on his face, you glare up at him. He knows that he won.
“Yah! What do you want?” You ask, exasperated. Limping forward, clearly milking this for all it’s worth, Jin pouts down at you with big, brown eyes.
“Just one kiss.”
You gasp, feigning horror. “A kiss?! In this sweaty, public greenhouse?!” You frantically point at the butterflies which are your only witnesses in here. “In front of the innocent butterflies?”
Jin looks at you and shudders. “Wow. I think it’s official.”
“What?”
“We spend way too much time together. You’re impersonating me right now, aren’t you?”
“Was it that obvious?”
“Yeah. But I still stand by my condition.” Finally taking one final step, Jin towers over you. With a playful wink, he puckers his lips.
“Ugh, I hate you sometimes.”
Jin peeks one eye open. “You just said you loved me earlier.”
“Is it too late to change my mind?”
“Sorry, no refunds.” Then, taking things into his own hands, Jin cups your cheeks and swoops in for a kiss.
On your nose.
Sputtering as he steps away, you glare at him. “What was that?!”
Turning on his heel and heading toward the exit, you notice that Jin’s over-exaggerated limp is long gone. With a devilish grin over his shoulder, Jin says, “You were taking too long. But you still owe me a kiss, whenever I ask for it. No matter where we are or what we’re doing, ok?”
You can recognize a trap when you see one. However, you’re left with no choice. Grumbling out a “yeah, whatever” you follow after him.
After the butterfly exhibit you make your way to the reptile house, opting to get all of the hot and humid indoor places out of the way while it’s still morning. The Gila monsters make you laugh as Jin takes a video of the tongue flipping in and out of its mouth and sends it to Hoseok. The two of you know full well that the boy in question will no doubt scream in horror as he watches the video.
Hand in hand, Jin finally swerves off the path toward one of the final indoor exhibits: Animals of the Savanna.
Once you’re inside, you pull and tug at Jin until he’s relenting and allowing you to find the meerkats. To onlookers, you’re sure you look like a child dragging their disgruntled parent to and fro. However, once you spot the meerkats, any thoughts of maintaining your dignity in front of these people eddies out of your mind.
“Jin! Jin! Seokjin!” You hop up and down on the balls of your feet, completely missing the tender look Jin sends your way as you drag him closer. “Look at them! Woooow there’s so many! Aww and there’s little babies, too!”
Jin just hums along, smiling as he watches your wide eyes. You get as close as humanly possible, grinning at the creatures that occasionally look your way. Through it all, he maintains some sort of contact. Giggling without knowing what you’re laughing about. Just laughing for the sake of it.
He just…loves the zoo. Yeah, that’s it.
It had been a silly idea, to bring you here three years ago to celebrate the beginning of your relationship. In fact, you had looked at him like he was already bordering on crazy when he had brought up the idea of doing something special now that you had agreed to be his girlfriend.
“Don’t people usually do something special for anniversaries?” You had asked. Your hair had been longer then, a tell-tale sign of your youth.
Jin shrugged, completely under your spell without your knowledge. He found it nearly impossible to look away from you at times like these. “We can do that, too. Next year. But for now, why don’t we just celebrate the beginning?”
“Sure,” you mimicked his shrug, snuggling into his side on the couch. Despite his unaffected demeanor, he wondered if you noticed the way his heart was pounding as you rested your head against his shoulder. “I’ll do whatever, as long as it’s with you.”
So, after discussing it with his best friends, he decided to take you to a beautiful dinner looking over the Han river. There was a new restaurant that was outrageously fancy and delicious, and he wanted to treat you to the best.
When he arrived at your apartment that evening, just in time to hopefully catch the sunset on the Han if all went according to plan, he overheard you talking on the phone. Your window was open, and like the snoop that he was, he waited to listen in on your conversation.
He wouldn’t have it he hadn’t heard your mentioning his name.
“I don’t know what we’re doing tonight,” you admitted. You were quiet for a moment while listening to the other side of the conversation. “You think so? I don’t know, I’ve never dated someone like this. You know, like…rich. What do rich people do on dates? I’m a little out of my element here, I just hope I won’t make a fool of myself.” Your laugh had him hurtling to reality, and he realized in an instant that he couldn’t take you to that restaurant.
A part of him knew in that moment that you were going to be the rest of his life. You were it for him. And if you want something to last, you treat it differently.
A perfectly forgettable meal surrounded by gossiping netizens wasn’t what you deserved.
So what did you deserve?
That had been the question on his mind as he tried to hide just how sweaty his palms were when he knocked on your door.
“Oh, I think he’s here. I – yeah, I’ll call you after. Ok, bye.”
Seokjin has always been good at pretending that he has a plan even when he has no idea what to do. Which is exactly what he did. You had been absolutely adorable, bouncing in your seat as he set off down the highway, begging him to give you a hint.
When he’d seen the exit for the zoo, he turned down that road without a second thought. You looked utterly confused when he pulled into the parking lot, and little did you know that he was just as confused as you were.
He just prayed that you wouldn’t think he was the dumbest person ever for letting those reservations slip through his fingers for the fanciest restaurant in Seoul. Perhaps a date to the zoo wasn’t the right idea, perhaps it wasn’t romantic at all, perhaps-
Perhaps you were happiest with his hand in yours and a meerkat a few feet away from you.
He’s so tempted to cash in that kiss right now, with how adorable you look. But he bites his tongue, reminding himself that he has to save it for later.
Once you’re loved of meerkats is sated enough for you to be herded away, Jin leads you to a street vendor. “Eat up,” he says as he passes the bread cone filled to the brim with macaroni and cheese to your outstretched hands. He’ll never understand your love for the little abominations, but he caves and orders one for himself as well.
“Don’t you want to sit and eat it?” He asks as he spies you wandering off. You twirl around, licking the cheese off of your lips. And stupid as it is, his heart skips a beat.
“They’re gonna feed the penguins in ten minutes!” You respond, clearly expecting that to be enough of an explanation. Again you turn to wander away. You’re not worried about leaving Jin behind, though. His long legs catch up to you within a few seconds.
The two of you eat in relative silence as you watch the penguins waddling around. Once you’re finished with your food, you spend a good hour sitting in the amphitheater watching the penguins and wondering which ones the two of you would be.
“I’m that one,” you point to a particularly fat penguin attempting to get out of the water. “That looks like me trying to get out of my chair whenever I eat.”
Jin nearly chokes on his water at your remark, squinting at the penguin that has yet to be successful in getting out of the water. “How pitiful. Oh, that’s me.”
Another penguin appears on the ice, looking down at the fat one.
“Oh, have you come to rescue me?” You ask, sitting forward and resting your chin on your hands. Jin immediately begins massaging the small of your back, knowing that it’s a troublesome spot for you most days.
“Probably- oooh down he goes!”
The two of you burst into a fit of laughter as the penguin pears down into the water only to lose its footing and slip in alongside the previously struggling penguin.
“Yeah, that’s us,” you confirm, still laughing.
“Definitely us. We’re a mess most days.”
You lean back, taking up your usual spot on the crook of his shoulder and resting your hand on the inside of Jin’s knee. “At least we have each other.”
You say it with a teasing tone, but Jin can’t help the way it goes straight to his heart. Sneakily planting a kiss atop your baseball cap, he squeezes you a little tighter. “Yeah, that’s true. Don’t know where I’d be without you.”
“Probably still on land,” you remark slyly, peeking up at him. With slightly pink cheeks and zero hesitation you utter out, “I love you.”
He’ll never get used to you.
“Love you, too.”
From there you head over to the polar bears, which appear to be largely unimpressed by your presence. Jin drags you to see the hyenas, sporting some strange interest in the creatures. It only makes sense to sit and stare at the large tigers after that, your mouth ajar as you marvel at its size.
Then it’s the elephants and rhinos.
“Ugh, it smells like your fridge that one time,” you joke the second to get a whiff of the rhino’s habitat.
“It does not!” Jin shouts, drawing the attention of some of the other visitors. “My fridge smelled much worse.”
You can’t help but cackle at his remark. “I stand corrected.”
Toward the end of your visit you pass by to visit the monkeys. “If you squeeze my hand any harder, it’ll fall off.”
You try and fail to relinquish your grip. “Sorry, they just freak me out.” As if on cue, a monkey swings by in front of the tall glass window, making you jump and squeal in terror.
“Should we leave?” Jin questions, hiding his laughter.
You bury your head in between his shoulder blades, squeezing your eyes shut. “No, just go fast.”
He does just that, speeding through the exhibit until he’s announcing that you’re nearing the end. Slowly you look up, blinking at the now dark sky.
“Have we been here all day?” You ask in wonder. Checking the time, Jin nods.
“Yep. It’s about time to head home.”
Languidly making your way back up the path to the zoo entrance and exit, you swing your hands back and forth. “That was so fun.”
Jin raises his brows. “Really? I thought you were a goner back there with the monkeys.”
Faking a shiver, you revel in the way Jin falls for it and automatically pulls you in closer. “I thought I was, too. But I just thought of the meerkats, and I made it through.”
Snorting, Jin waves goodbye to a few of the staff members the open the gate for the two of you to leave. “Is that so? It had nothing to do with your big, strong, boyfriend protecting you?”
“I don’t have a boyfriend.”
“Oh really.”
“No. Why? Did you think we had something going on?”
Rolling his eyes, Jin bumps you with his hip, making you giggle. “If not, this has been the most dedicated friendship I’ve ever experienced.”
“Dude, you have six best friends-”
“Ok, first you say I’m not your boyfriend, and then you stoop so low as to refer to me as dude?!”
Your laugh rings out loud and clear in the evening air, followed by Jin’s stupefied laughter. “You’re so dramatic,” you accuse, reluctantly freeing yourself from his grip as you near the car.
“Hey, you don’t get to judge me. It’s not like you’re my girlfriend.” Still bickering back and forth, Jin starts driving and heads off to the right instead of the left.
“Woah, where are we going?” You ask, frowning out at the night.
Jin shrugs. “Let’s go snoop around those houses again.”
“The ones by the zoo?”
“Yeah.”
You’re all too happy to go along with it. Clutching your hand atop the console, Jin maneuvers his way to the small hill overlooking the zoo.
“Wow,” you breathe out. “I forgot how beautiful this view is.”
Indeed it is. The city lights glow and glint in the distance, creating a warm blanket of familiarity. The zoo lights are shutting off, only a few left on here and there. The sound of music from floats up toward you as you roll the window down, drinking it in.
“The residents always hear the closing songs each night,” Jin supplies, somehow reading your mind as you wonder about the music coming from the zoo. “It turns off by ten on weekdays and eleven on the weekends.”
“How’d you know that?”
“I have some friends that live up here.”
You turn to look at Jin, eyes wide. “You do? How come you never told me?”
“They just moved,” he explains with a forgotten smile. “You wanna see their house?”
“Yes!”
Jin turns down a different street, slowly stopping before a beautiful home with colonial style columns in the front. Sure enough, there’s a sign in the front of the house with a red sticker stating SOLD for all to see.
“Should we look around the lot?” Jin asks, turning off the car and taking off his seat. “It looks like they’re not home right now, but they said we could look around if we wanted.”
“You told them we were coming?”
He shrugs, hopping out of the car and hurrying around to open up your door. “I mentioned that we’d be in the area.”
“Who are these friends of yours, anyway?” You ask, stepping out of the car. The house quite literally takes your breath away, and you turn around to capture the full view. The city is still visible, the zoo and its music appearing more like a memory than a reality. “Wow, this is amazing.”
“Uh,” Jin scratches the back of his neck. “Their names should be on the sign right there.”
Frowning, you ignore his avoidance of the question and skirt around him to walk up to the edge of the lawn. Crouching down, your eyes scan the sign for any names you might recognize. There’s a small paper, almost like a receipt, hanging from the sign. Smoothing it out from where it’s flowing in the breeze, you squint at the names that appear.
Sold to Mr. Kim Seokjin and –
You know that name. You know that man.
And the name beside his…
“It’s our names…?” You breathe out, not quite understanding. Straightening up, you turn to face Jin with a confused expression. “Why does it-”
There’s Jin, but he’s not where you left him.
He’s down on one knee, looking up at you with the expression he gets when he holds his breath. Behind him the city gleams as bright as ever, however it somehow dims in the face of what you see before you.
Jin, opening up a small box. And inside the velvety interior, a ring shining as though it were made of stars.
Suddenly, it clicks. The date to the zoo, where you’d first officially began this relationship. The house with your name on it, the way Jin had this day circled on the calendar for longer than you care to remember.
Jin can’t breathe, and he can tell by the way your chest has stopped rising that you can’t, either.
“I- I’d like to cash in that kiss now,” Jin stutters out.
In a rush of limbs and a mixture of laughter and sobs, you find yourself kneeling across from Jin and kissing him hard enough to bruise his plump lips. You’d feel bad, except for the fact that he returns the kiss with just as much fervor. When the kiss begins to taste of salt, you pull away to discern of those are your tears or his.
It’s both, you realize as Jin gazes at you, completely oblivious to the tears streaming down his cheeks.
“O-oh!” He exclaims, staring down at the ring box in his shaking hands. “Will you marry me?”
Without a single ounce of hesitation, you laugh, voice thick with emotion. “Yes!”
That’s all it takes for Jin to pull you in close again, attacking you with kisses at a speed you can’t keep up with. He pulls back, panting and eyes alight with pure elation. “And do you want to live here with me, then?”
You choke on a laugh, still crying and on your knees. “Of course I do, Seokjin. You- you bought me a house.”
“Yeah,” he sniffles. “I did.”
Then, gasping with wide eyes, Jin snaps his fingers. “I almost forgot!” Jumping up to his feet, he runs back to the car. You watch after him, too in shock to stand at the moment. Your glinting rings on your hand catches your attention, making you wonder when exactly he put it on. No doubt it was sometime in the midst of his breathless kisses.
Jin returns a moment later, dropping to his knees again. Nevermind the fact that there are plenty of places to sit. He has a lanyard around his neck, and he places another around your own.
“What’s this?” You ask, grabbing the little card hanging off of the end. Once you catch sight of it, you begin to laugh (and somehow cry) even harder.
Season passes to the zoo.

What Goes Around
Pairing: Hardin Scott x reader
Request: Could I please request an imagine/fic with Hardin Scott x Reader and basically Hardin of course has his bad boy reputation but this intrigues the reader. She is his complete opposite and finds his rudeness quite funny. Hardin is a little too mean to her one time and makes her cry. It doesn’t occur to Hardin that she likes him and by that point he feels like he has lost his chance to get to know her because of his.. ‘wicked’ charm? You can choose the ending. Anonymous

He’s watching you give your coffee order and it makes you smile. Everywhere you go, you seem to run into each other. At first, you’d just steal glances then go your separate ways but then it turned into “hello”. He made the first move and asked if you should have your coffee together one day. Ever since than you’d made polite conversation when you ran into each other and you had to admit that something intrigued you about the tattooed boy who refused to care about anyone other than himself. You couldn’t exactly relate to his perspective on life but you wanted to know more, to understand the boy who considered the world a cruel place rather than an opportunity to happy days.
“This seat taken?” you ask standing with a hot cup of coffee in one hand and a book in the other. The “Red Queen” series have become something of an obsession for you after finishing the first book. You never thought you’d stray from the classics but lately, YA books had been catching your eye.
“I see you’re still on the third book,” he smiles and in the same moment letting you know how he feels about YA books. You don’t take it too hard considering he’s not even willing to admit his love for books for anyone other than you.
“I’m taking my time and enjoying the words.” You have a tendency to get too invested and rush through a book to get to the ending meaning you miss a lot of the little Easter eggs along the way. You’re trying to change that.
“Hey, no judgement from me.” He’s lying but it’s a cute lie so you’ll allow it. Once you’ve finished your coffee, you stand up grabbing your things. You have exactly ten minutes before your class start but you like to get there early in case you need to do some last-minute preparations. Hardin remains seated and you remain neutral in regards to his lack of motivation when it comes to college.
I’ll be going classes now. Want to come?” Okay, maybe not that neutral. He shakes his head smiling and you know what that means. It takes three days before you run into him again. This time at the library where you reach for the same book which sounds completely absurd and something that would only happen in one of your books. It’s a cute moment though.
“I guess great minds think alike,” you say and he scoffs.
“Please. You wish you were as clever as me.” He offers you the book about to sit down when he spots some of his friends outside. You know he’s been a little vague about who you are considering just how different you are to them and frankly, you don’t mind. Hardin is an interesting character because there’s more to him than just the casual alcoholic teen while the people he surrounds himself with at those frat parties really don’t have much else going on for them. You went one time and you’d never been more bored in your life.
“I should go,” he says Within minutes he’s out the door walking in the direction away from his “friends”. After that you don’t spot him for a while or maybe he’s avoiding you to avoid the questions his friends will inevitable have. Either way, you find yourself missing his sarcastic comments. You hadn’t realised just how much of an impression he’d made on you until he wasn’t around. But he comes back to you eventually.
“Hey,” he says when he spots you at the coffee house.
“I thought you’d moved city,” you tease pushing out the chair across from you with your foot. He sits down sliding a book across the table.
“As an apology,” he grins. You turn the book over to see the cover and you can’t help but smile.
“You remembered.” One of the first conversations between you and Hardin had been about ecocriticism and a book called “The Road” that you’d borrowed from the library more times than you could count. You’d discussed the topic in class where your professor had recommended this book and now Hardin had gotten it for you.
“You wouldn’t shut up about the book for at least five hours. How could I not?” He shrugs it off like it’s no big deal but it still means a lot to you. Now you could read the book whenever you felt like it. And he’d gotten the original cover rather than the movie cover. It would’ve been the perfect gift if his friends hadn’t shown up and ruined everything. You see the change in him the second they enter the coffee house.
“Hardin, who’s this?” Jace asks with hungry eyes making you feel incredibly uncomfortable.
“Just a friend,” Hardin offers not wanting to give any information to these people.
“Sure, friend. Do you feel the same way, honey?” Jace asks making the rest of the guys snicker. Before you have a chance to answer, Hardin opens his mouth and ruins everything.
“Yes, friend. I mean look at her. Not exactly my type, is it? I mean, could it get anymore vanilla?” This earns him a high five from one of the guys but it cracks your heart. You’ve never thought much about your close or the way you looked because you thought the inside counted a hell of a lot more than the outside. But hearing that the idea of being with you seemed so ludicrous hurt more than you liked to admit.
“I should get going.” You don’t look at Hardin when you leave and you don’t bring the book with you. If this is how he thinks of you then you don’t want anything from him. And it’s not even the fact that he considers you a friend. If that’s all it was, you’d be fine. It’s how easy it was for him to degrade you that really hurt. You tell yourself you won’t cry but it’s a lost battle as you head home. Unfortunately, you don’t reach home before he catches up to you.
“Leave me alone, Hardin,” you say picking up the pace. You’re determined to reach your apartment without stopping but of course, you can’t help yourself when it’s Hardin.
“Are you mad at me?”
“Mad at you? Of course, I’m mad at you!” you yell not caring who hears you at this point.
“You of all people should realise what it’s like to be judged on the way you look. I like the way I look and I absolutely refuse to let you make me feel bad about it!” You don’t care if he said it because of his friends or not, it’s the fact that it came to him so easily. That means he’s thought it before regardless of the situation at the coffee house.
“It was a joke!” he yells back opting for defensive rather than just apologise. You’re not doing this. You turn around and this time he doesn’t follow you. It’s weeks before you dare return to the coffee house. You don’t want to meet him again. Instead you dive head first into the universe of Jane Austen thinking he could’ve been your Mr. Darcy with his sour attitude and soft spot for you but it didn’t turn out that way. But your need for good coffee eventually win over your fear of seeing him again. The plan is in, order, pay and leave. It’s just not that simple once you’re inside.
“You forgot this.” He places “The Road” in front of you as you’re waiting for your coffee. You can’t believe he’s held onto to it since that day. You figured he would’ve just chucked it in the bin.
“I’m really sorry for what I said. It was rude and thoughtless. You deserve better.” It’s a good apology but you can’t help but think what the insult will be the next time his friends catch you together.
“You’re right. I deserve better.” You get your coffee and head outside.
“Throw me a bone here. I said I was sorry.” Of course, Hardin follows you outside refusing to let this go.
“Hardin, you’re only sorry because I called you out on it. You don’t actually care that it hurt me.” He’s not the first guy who thought he could walk all over you and he won’t be the last but you refuse to accept that treatment. You deserve a lot better than that.
“I’m sorry because it hurt you. I didn’t think you’d read so much into it,” he defends himself making it clear to you that it’s a pointless discussion. He’s not going to understand why what he said was hurtful despite his own appearance and the comments he’s received.
“How could I not? I’m sitting there thinking we might have a shot and then you pull the rug out from under me. I’m not playing these games with you.”
“What?” You don’t bother repeating yourself instead using this moment of shock to hurry away. You manage to avoid him for another week before he corners you on campus.
“You can’t just throw something like that out in the world and then leave. It’s been going round and round in my head.” He has a hand on each side of you leaning against the wall. It’s effective for keeping you in place and distracting you from why you’re actually upset with him.
“I never thought you’d like me like that. Shit, I would’ve done things very differently if I ever thought I had a chance.” This time you’re the one in shock. You didn’t think he’d put so much thought into what you said last time.
“What would you have done differently?” Despite vowing to yourself that you’re done with Hardin, you find yourself curious once again. This bad boy persona with a loving man hidden inside seems like an impossible paradox.
“I would’ve kept you well clear of those idiots from the frat house. Bought you flowers maybe. Taken you to dinner. Bought you a hell of lot more books.” You don’t want to forgive him but it’s hard to think when he’s this close to you.
“I can start now if you’d like.” He places a hand on your cheek and his touch gives you chills. You inhale sharply telling yourself not to give into him but your body has already thrown in the white towel. He leans down stopping inches from your lips.
“I really am sorry. It won’t happen again.” Instead of answering, you lean up closing the gap between you. It’s the first kiss but definitely not the last.

Chapter 2: Not your family
The next morning turned out to be quieter than you imagined.
You slowly got out of bed and looked at everything around you noticing how quaint Bill's old room was. The ceiling was lined with grainy wallpaper with stacks of photographs of Quidditch players hanging from the reeds that moved from side to side, simulating the playing field; the right side of the room had a huge hole behind the small stool that tried to hide it, and from that hole a small garden gnome was sleeping peacefully with a small piece of cloth on top of his head. You stood up, walking towards the huge window that gave you a beautiful view of the Weasley's garden that at that moment was covered by a thin layer of drizzle that had fallen during the night.
Molly's fruit trees gleamed under the faint rays of the sun and you saw how a doxy from between the leaves poisoned Mrs. Weasley's apples, causing them to fall from the tree branches in a thick black mass with a foul smell coming out of it. You shook your head, excited to witness a very different way to wake up.
Even though several minutes have passed since you woke up, the house continued to remain in a strange silence that made you think that the family had decided to leave the burrow with the intention of buying more supplies or something like that. You knew that Bill wasn’t at home precisely for his obligations within the Order, so you didn’t worry about looking for him around the room, so you decided that a better option was going down to the dining room and know what was happening.
As you went down the spiral staircase, you cursed in a whisper when you forgot to put on your slippers before leaving the bedroom cause the floor was so cold that you slipped a couple of times. Back in the days, when you were still welcome in your parents' house, you had many servants who did all the things for you - putting on your shoes as soon as you woke up was one of those things - but now that your life had changed so much, you assumed that you would have to adapt and start taking care of your own needs.
Your curious eyes roamed the walls covered in family photos that caused a big warmth in your chest. In each of those photographs, all of Molly's children appeared along with their father, smiling for the camera and sending effusive greetings. A pic was hanging at the fireplace were Molly and Arthur were carrying a small white bundle crying his lungs out. You assumed it was Bill as his parents seemed too young back then and even as a small baby, you could recognize those tantrum features anywhere.
A giggle escaped your lips when you noticed a funny sequence from that same photo in which, even with Bill crying in his mother's arms, his father tried to carry him for a moment to calm him down, however the baby's cries didn’t stop. The baby was so annoyed that he ended throwing up  the milk ration that he must have had before the photo session on his father's neat shirt.
You laughed because you knew that William's impertinence was something he had carried with him for several years now.
"Bill hates those photos." You jumped in your place scared to see Molly standing behind you. Your cheeks turned red “He says that it’s embarassing but i think that’s nonsense. He was an adorable baby”
"he was," you answered, looking anywhere but into Molly's shrewd eyes. "but I guess displaying them in the fireplace isn’t the right thing to do."
“Is it not?
"No, they should be at the front door where everyone can see them”
Molly giggled as you watched the sequence of photos over and over again. A silence settled between you, but surprisingly it was not an awkward silence, but one that was allowing you to create a bond that neither of you expected. Mrs. Weaslsey brought up a rag, wiping it around the corners of the photo from the dust.
"Arthur and I had to save up for months to take those pictures," she mentioned wistfully, "we just had Bill and it seemed like a good idea to welcome him into our family with a gesture like that. Arthur was new in the ministry and wasn't earning too much, but we had that quirk and decided we could afford to skip certain things to pay for the pictures. It cost us ten galleons and it still took us four months to gather them”
“Oh” You didn't know what to say, but you just kept looking at the photograph feeling a bit uncomfortable. You never had those problems at home because your family was insanelly rich thanks to the inheritance in life that your grandfather Tim had left to his son and later to his grandchildren. Even the descendants of your grandfather's servants came to work in your house, reason enough for you and your siblings to grow up with no sense of responsibility other than your own wishes. Molly sighed remembering those times when life seemed to be easier.
"So when Bill asked me to remove it from the fireplace, I refused. He doesn't know how hard it was to raise that money, but I think he has nothing to be ashamed of, he was too adorable!
"I don't doubt it for a second, Mrs. Weasley."
"You can call me Molly," she said, walking back to the kitchen where you continued watching the way the pans moved back and forth preparing breakfast. You were not very good at cooking - in fact, you had never cooked before- however, that didn’t stop you from offering your help. So you took a pan, placed it on the stove, and decided that you would find a way to make a good mountain of strawberry-filled pancakes just like your dear nanny did. Molly observed you carefully. "I think that now that you are living with us it is appropriate to have a more cordial treatment. My son told me a lot about you”
“Just the good things, i hope”
“Kind of” You stopped mixing ingredients to look at her carefully” He told us a bunch of marvelous things about you and how you two met. Actually, what worries me the most is what he didn’t tell us”
And there was the recrimination you were waiting for. You were aware that it had to arrive sooner or later, however, you would have been grateful that it did it when Bill were by your side to give you the opportunity to defend yourself properly. You cleared your throat uncomfortably, knowing that what Molly needed to hear from your own lips was which family you came from. You continued your task with the pancakes, turning out as bad as you expected.
"I'm sorry it turned out this way, Mrs. Weasley."
"Molly," he corrected.
"Molly" you smiled slowly "But believe me when I tell you that it was me who asked William not to mention anything about my last name or where I come from. I know that in this case, with the war above our heads, it is necessary to be certain of the people who enter your family and I apologize for that, it's just ... Bill is very important to me” Molly's eyes narrowed “Since we met ... I have found a home in him and well, all that feels when someone is in love. "Mrs. Weasley shook her head, understanding the feeling." I have experienced the rejection before. When people know that Tom Riddle is my family ... they run away in fear, curse my family and even walk away from us, as if sharing a blood bond makes us as evil as he is.
“And it’s not like that?” Molly asked with a hand on her neck. She didn’t want to be like the others and judge you without knowing the full story, just as she had promised Bill the night before that she would, but it was so difficult not to remember the death of his brothers by Voldemort’s hands and to pretend nothing had happened in the past. You sighed because the eggs you cracked on the bowl got mixed with their own shell “ I've heard of the Grants before, they're all Death Eaters, including your siblings!”
“It is difficult to have to choose a side  when you don’t have your own convictions”
"And you have it?"
You looked at Molly in pain. Of course you expected those reactions from Bill's mother, she was within her right to be upset that her oldest son never told her that he was in a relationship with a girl who seemed to have the most fucking powerful and evil wizard in the world as a great-uncle. No, Molly wasn't mad, she was deadly angry, she felt like she was bursting!
Her hands became fists and without knowing how, you found yourself between the wall and Molly's big arms from one second to the other. The pancake batter was forgotten, as was the woman's promise to treat her son's girlfriend in a good way.
"How is it possible ..." Molly questioned in an agitated voice, pressing your arms against the wall, "... that a single deer leaves the nature of its own herd?" How can you ensure that one rotten apple even in a gold container doesn’t rot the others?”Your breath caught at the questions of the woman in front of you. Once again, you were aware that your presence wouldn’t be good news to them, but at least you hoped they understood your motives before judging you “Explain to me, (Y/ N) Grant, when have you seen a pig away from his equals?”
Your words caught in your throat at Molly's fierce question. Bill had talked a lot about the temper of his mother. Even if she could be really grumpy at times, she was in general a very sweet, pleasant and maternal woman with everyone; however, you didn’t fit into that generality because it seemed that the woman was determined to kill you with her own hands.
"If my presence bothers you so much, then you shouldn't have let Bill and I to stay here."
“He's my son! All I want for him is to be happy, and that's why I don't understand what he managed to see in you”
"Maybe the same thing you saw in your husband." Molly's lips twitched in anger, but you didn't stop. You hoped that she would at least understand what your words meant, because that would make it easier for both of you to try at least get along better, even if Molly seemed not to want to do it under any circumstances. How is it that this haughty little girl dared to compare herself with her dear and wonderful husband? "I'm sorry, but I don't think this conversation is going to take us anywhere."
"If someone betrays his own family ..." Molly stopped you before you walked out the front door. The others got down the stairs, seeing the scandal formed in the kitchen “The rest of us can't expect too much, can we?
Your eyes blured.

gold rush (Tom Holland)
Tumblr media
All of my fics are LGBT and PoC friendly. Inspired by gold rush by Taylor Swift. Everybody wants Tom, but you don’t like a gold rush. WC: 2.7K words.
“Y/N, I just wanted to say again, thank you for coming in today and doing this for us.” Tom’s dad, Dominic, said as he displaced papers across desks, earl grey swaying like an angry lake in his mug. Approaching footsteps hinted that the star of the show was soon to be hold. In other words, Tom was running behind.
The door creaked and light from the corridor crept through like Sun peeping through curtains of the Night. It refusing to shut after Tom budged and pushed was maybe divine punishment for him being so late, and maybe provided the bit of laughter you needed after rolling out of bed at 6am for this, for him. When the door eventually did close, Tom turned around and saw you in all your glory; much taller than he remembered, more assured than he’d imagined, and more gorgeous than drowned out and half forgotten memories of you could ever fabricate.
You and Tom ran in the same social circles, but hadn’t seen each other since Tom’s career imploded when you were both nineteen. As much as Tom felt he owed his heart and soul to the UK, he maintained an almost permanent fixture on the States. It started to feel like his trips back to England were in fact actual holiday. At one point, you were in love with Tom, but meeting became a constant battle of ‘here, not there’ and your heart grew tired of the duck and goose chase. The gravity of the situation was too much for you, whom hadn’t even tasted their twenties yet.
“Y/N!” Tom launched at you and held you in tight embrace. You let go of the hug, but he didn’t. And his dad watched on in momentary awe as you wrapped your arms around Tom once again, who breathed in every part of you with unwavering adoration.
“Tom!” You rubbed along his back as he hummed. “When I was told we were gonna have a ghost writer, I had no idea it was gonna be you.”
Tom and his dad (being an author) were collaborating on a book, a million dollar idea that’d been years in the making. Tom had stalled it, his dad told you out of simple insecurity. Now that the world was a stage, he was worried people would criticise his dyslexia with every line he wrote, that every stroke of his pen would reveal him as a rare type of monster that lacked intellect, he pondered that he wasn’t insightful enough in some way. His dad may have written a book about Tom outfaming him, but Tom felt like he’d always live in Dom’s shadow in this respect. Fresh from Oxford with an English Bachelor’s degree, Dom employed you to get grease on the gears to commence writing. Tom had always come out of his shell when you were around.
Your writing session lasted from 8 til noon, when Tom had promo with LadBible or Entertainment Weekly or whoever had bid the highest from his presence that day.
The door swung open and three men in all black and mics saddled around their waists called for and led Tom out of the room.
“Tom, session’s over. We need to get you to your BBC promo in 30 and we’re already running behind schedule.’ One cloaked Tom in a jacket you were sure was more expensive than your own home and another whispered something into a walkie talkie: “Holland is on the move. Check the back entrance is clear.” With that, Tom rose to his feet and left completely opposite of the way you came in. Without a word, no goodbye.
You and Dom left the building together around ten minutes later, where ten men with large cameras stood, lenses focused on you, glaring at you, not sure what to make of you. One of the men screams “Hey! You dating Tom Holland” and after that all you hear is clicks and all you see is bright flashing lights and Dom clenches your hand and leads you to your taxi cab.
The next time you see Tom is sooner than expected. The Hollands were hosting a last minute dinner party and you found yourself sitting opposite Tom, feeling his hard, hot and heavy gaze on you. The tension in the room was so thick not even a chainsaw cut through.
“Next topic,” You picked up a card from the deck and read it aloud. “Politics!” You said devilishly as you sip on what was left of the white wine in your cup, and now that your thought process is blurred; Tom’s longing gaze puts you at dismay.
“Fuck!” Harry exploded, and you hear their mother hiss. “Fuck I hate politics, there’s no making it out alive!” he remarked as he drummed on the table cloth, drunken excitement brewing a new energy in the room.
You go on like this for hours until dinner party is dinner party no more. And while Dom, Nikki and all of Tom’s siblings have chosen to exit stage left, it’s 1am and you and Tom have yet to leave the scene.
Tom sets down your deck of debate cards in favour of a genuine moment.
“What are you doing these days, Y/N?” Tom’s not looking at you, he’s looking at your knee as he rubs circles on it. You want to look down there too, see what he finds so intriguing; but you decide against it in fear you might spontaneously combust. You don’t know if this moment’s supposed to be intimate or innocent and you’re not sure if you want to find out.
So you put up a wall.
“I should be asking you the same thing, Holland.” You say sarcastically. “What have you been doing these days? I haven’t seen you around.” Your eyebrows scrunched up together but you’ve got a big, idiot grin on your face that’s more than telling. Tom giggles at your facetiousness.
Tom scratches his head in mock thought. He never clocks out, always putting on a show. “I don’t know - uh.” You’re laughing before Tom has even told the punchline, ‘cause I guess anything’s funny when it’s said by the one you love.”I’m kind of -” He snatches an old Spiderman comic off the floor. “I’m kinda doing this acting thing at the moment. Playing, y’know, this guy.”
“Well I wish you better luck in the future.” Tom has stopped rubbing circles but instead places his two hands on your knees as you rock back in laughter.
“I’m serious, Y/N. What do you do now?”
“Um.” You suddenly forgot your entire career as Tom, with no shade of subtlety, stares right into your soul. “I got my degree. I write like little stories, y’know? Have you ever heard of folklore?”
Tom shook his head.
“They’re like these little, old beautiful myths. And I write them for a living. And if I’m lucky, they get published in The Times. If I’m even luckier, I get to work with my old best friend - ” You feel your world stop temporarily as you call Tom your ‘best friend’ and you pause for all of 0.3 seconds to register Tom’s reaction but his face doesn’t flinch. “-Writing a book with him and his dad.” And that makes Tom smile. So he doesn’t have to tell you he missed you, you just know.
‘Undivided appearance’ and ‘undivided attention’ don’t necessarily mean the same thing in Hollywood as they do in real life, and you learn that the hard way in your writing session.
Tom may have been sat right next to you, but he was miles away. He was doing press with Cosmo, who hadn’t stopped tagging him with blue hearts on his Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat stories, causing his phone to go off every two seconds. You looked at the phone and then at him who then got the hint and put it on silent. Then there was a knock on the door. Tom rushed to open it, expecting that Dom had sent down a food delivery to egg you on finishing this chapter. You rehashed his childhood like a million times - in fact, you were part of it - so when it came to writing the parts that hurt, where you took a more supporting role in his life, you needed his help. The fact is, the knock at the door had come from one of Tom’s men (Tom liked to call him Man In Black no. 3) who hadn’t said as much as a ‘hi’ before he made his announcement. “Tom, you’re on the line with Cosmo in 10.” The man stepped back and pulled out his walkie talkie, “Holland knows he’s on the line with Cosmo at 10.” And then continued to pace around the hallway.
Cosmo called as he said they would and you almost felt for. second like tom might enjoy an entertainment magazine’s company more than yours. The interviewer made glaring comments and passive flirts at Tom who just blushed and chuckled and sipped his water like the woman on the phone calling him ‘hot’ was just too much to handle. At one point, she says: “What must it be like to grow up that beautiful, Tom? With your hair falling into place like dominoes.” You’re not expecting it when Tom tilts the phone so you’re in view. “Well I’m with the most beautiful being on Earth right now so..” Tom looks at you as if to ask ‘is this okay?” and you know it’s too late for these kind of questions, because that moment is headline fodder, so you smile not to make him feel bad for opening Pandora’s box. But Tom is merciless and likes to rub salt in the wound. “This is Y/N! Y/N’s helping me write the book with my Dad! We go way back.” He covers his mouth as soon as he says it. “Shit! They’re not supposed to know about the book yet.”
This is the moment, you think, where you believe when they say your first love is the one you never let go.
And you can’t think of anything purer than the love you have for him.
Tom thinks being on land is boring. He likes being strung from chords 30 feet in the air, and drowning in despair through scenes of emotional turmoil. You want to tell him you’re an arrow from Cupid’s bow about to reach him, but you couldn’t recover from the splinters if Tom shut you down. After all, Tom was a gold rush. A treasure that everyone had discovered but nobody owned. How precious is a jewel that anybody could take home with them?
Tom had invited you to a visit to Brighton with him, a city near the coast, for some inspiration on writing his section of the book.
You accepted. And because you did, you found yourself at the beginning of the end, on Tom’s boat in Brighton. “We don’t have to talk about the book right now.” Tom throws a stack of blue tinted paper on the floor. His dyslexia meant that spelling and reading was so much easier when done on blue pages, and you could only guess that was the reason the body of water around you brought him so much peace. So when you saw that something might compromise your best boy’s happiness, you point it out. To give Tom a little bit of time to exit before things got ugly.
“Tom, I see someone in the bushes.”
“Yeah. It’s a pap.” Tom mumbled nonchalantly.
“They’re here to get pictures of me,” He turned to face you. “and you.”
“Me?”
“Yeah, the fans ship us. Think we’d be a good couple after that Cosmo stunt. We would have been a good couple when we were like, 18.” He laughs.
“Huh, yeah.” You look down.
“The best one around.” And you can’t tell if he’s serious.
You rip off one of his blue sheets. “I’m coming. I got hit with inspo.” And you trail to a different section of the boat. A very obvious click of the camera from a shrub nearby coaxes your pen to write without a second thought, How is he so accustomed to this? Fake private moments, protected by sheer glass curtains?
You scrunched your paper, well his paper, into a ball.
Your mind had turned his life into folklore. You weren’t sure if that was crossing a line, so you just put the ball into your bag and hide it until he hits you with the spark again.
“Let me see it.” Tom says.
“No.”
“You ran off to write it and won’t let me see it?”
You held your bag at your hip in defence. “No, Tom. Drop it.”
Tom’s face drops a little bit, but then he reaches into his own bag and reveals a deck of your debate cards. “I know what will cheer you up, good ol’ Y/N.” He sets a card on the wooden table between you two.
“Do you believe in a higher power?”
You toyed with the pendant around your neck which revealed your faith. “Do you?”
“I don’t. But I believe in soulmates.”
You look to the left to really ponder on what Tom is saying, and a paparazzis captures another photo of you in the corner of your eye.
“And you don’t think there’s a higher power that manufactures our souls to make our soulmates?”
Tom feigns a scowl. “That’s ridiculous.”
You scoffed. “How very contrarian of you.”
“What the fuck does that mean.”
“It means you contradict yourself, Thomas.” You laugh as he holds his chest in fake hurt.
“Are you implying I’m anything less than perfect?”
“Never.”
Never. Because you didn’t believe that to be true.
“Good. Cause you’d have to be punished.” Tom picks you up and throws you in the water below before jumping in with you.
On your way home you stop at the yours and Tom’s writing booth, scavenging through your bag to drop off Tom’s notepad, some scrunched up blue and white papers you and Tom thought could still help you write his book. You’d made an addition to your love-hazed scribblings about Tom and reckon you’d die if he found it. You managed to throw the other in the water, excusing yourself with “It’s utterly awful.”, to which you and Tom agreed you wouldn’t throw any more paper in the ocean cause the poor fish already had it hard enough.
You and Tom had a session the next day. Tom was excited for the day, and you could tell because he’d given his phone to one of his big babysitters for the time he had you.
“I think that’s all of yours.” You and Tom made a business out of unscrunching your paper balls to see if they had any useful ideas. You were certain you reached the end of Tom’s. All of his notes had ‘T.H’ written on the back in big and were scribed on blue paper. When it came to your little ‘secret admirer’ notes you weren’t worried - you had an English degree and were quick to think on your feet and was ready to make something up when it came to opening it.
“No, this one’s mine.” He’s confident, so you let him have it. He goes to pick up your tea and then realises it’s nowhere near warm, and was the one you made for yourself when you crept in yesterday evening. Tom has a smile on his face, and then he doesn’t. Before he goes to read it aloud, his eyes tell you he’s reading it again and again and again. “At dinner parties, I’ll call you out on your contrarian shit, and the coastal towns we wondered round will never see a love as pure as it.”
The look on Tom’s face gives you the splinters. He tries to look at you but you know he can’t. You don’t blame him. You can’t look at him either. “I really thought this was a good friendship.”
You hum and nod your head in agreement, pull your lips into a thin straight line as streaks of tears abandon your eyes. This was worse than Tom rubbing salt in your wounds. He’s rubbing dirt in your painful fucking gashes and you are reminded of why this didn’t work before, why it will never be.
And you wouldn’t dare to dream about him anymore.

Viva Las Vegas, Pt. 1 - Ribbit
Summary: Sunset Curve Alive AU, Willex, THE meetcute of meetcutes. 2.1k
Edit: thank you so much @trevor-wilson-covington for the pretty edit!! I'm in love with it!
Alex drummed his fingers on the armrest of his seat in the van. The drive from Los Angeles to Vegas was just short of four hours, but it had been an early morning and it was going to be a long day. He was feeling the carsickness sit just under the threshold of dangerous and rolled down the window.
“Whoo! Twenty miles boys!” Luke called out as they passed a sign on the freeway, clapping Bobby on the shoulder from behind.
“Woohoo!” Bobby responded in excitement.
“Think you’re gonna make it, buddy?” Reggie looked over at Alex. Alex turned only a fraction of the way toward his friend and gave a half-hearted nod.
“Hey man, let us know if we gotta pull over,” Luke said.
He simply nodded. Next time he wasn’t going to sit in the back.
The other three were jamming to whatever Luke was riffing on his guitar. Bobby thankfully drove at a slower pace as they approached the final stretch toward their destination. The ache in his stomach didn’t get better, but it also didn’t get worse so he was banking on it calming down once they stopped.
“Hey, guys, we wanna stop somewhere and get breakfast first?” Bobby called out to the rest of them.
“Oh yeah!” Reggie said. “I think I could go for some pancakes.”
“Oh, pancakes sound real good right now.” Luke echoed.
“Alex?” Bobby peeked into the rearview mirror at him.
Looking up from the view outside, he just shrugged. It didn’t matter. He wasn’t sure he could handle food no matter what it was.
Eventually they pulled off the freeway and kept their eyes peeled for an open restaurant.
“I see pancakes!” Reggie cried, pointing at his target.
“They’ve got an arcade next door, I second that vote!” Bobby said.
As they parked and clambered out of the van, the boys stretched and shook their limbs. They entered the diner and found a booth, practically collapsing together on the table. Alex placed his face in his hands and tried taking in deep breaths to calm his stomach. A sudden voice was heard beside the table.
“Good morning starshines, the earth says hello! How are we doing today?” Sounded like a waiter. Alex felt rude, but didn’t bother to look up. He felt Luke nudge a menu under his elbow.
“Oh, we’re hungry!” Reggie responded.
“Awesome, guys,” the waiter said. “Anything I can get started for you?”
“We’ll go with water,” Luke spoke for everyone at the table. “And, sorry about him, he’s not feeling good.” Alex assumed this was about him and sighed.
“Okay, so water for everybody? Alright, I’ll just grab those for you while you prepare your orders.”
As the waiter left, Luke tapped Alex’s shoulder.
“How you doin’, Alex?”
“Not blowing chunks, I guess,” he groaned.
“Hey, guys,” Bobby started saying. “How about we pick what we wanna eat, and then I want to check out the arcade while we wait for our food.”
“That’s a good idea,” Reggie said, perking up. “I hope they have Galaga.”
“I’m down,” Luke said. “Alex, you wanna wait here for us? You can give the guy our orders and then just chill.”
“Maybe that stomach will settle down,” Reggie added.
Alex lowered his hands and rested them on the table.
“Yeah,” he replied. “I need the space anyway. Thanks.”
“Cool,” Luke hopped up from his seat. “Uh, I’ll just do the buttermilk pancakes.”
“Make that two buttermilk pancakes!” Reggie said, holding up his fingers.
“Eggs and sausage,” Bobby told him. “And buttermilk pancakes.” He patted Alex on the back as the three of them ventured next door.
At least they were easy to remember. Alex looked around the restaurant as he kept breathing in and out slowly. He was the only person there. That was surprising for a diner just outside of Vegas around ten in the morning. He didn’t mind the quiet, though. Having all this space to himself was already helping him feel better.
A guy with long dark hair approached him with a tray carrying glasses of water. Alex gulped as he watched, his breath catching in his throat. He took in the tie-dye shirt, the ripped jeans, and puka shell necklace and guessed he was probably from California as well.
“Whoa, where’d they all go?” the waiter asked, smiling a little in confusion.
Alex blinked.
“They, uh, they went to the arcade,” he managed to get out. He couldn’t help it, this guy had a nice smile.
“Ah,” the guy raised his eyebrows and began placing the water on the table. “And they left you behind? That sucks.”
“I’m okay,” Alex said. “We’ve just been on the road for a bit and I got kinda carsick, so I needed some space anyway.”
“I’m sorry, man,” the waiter said. “Did they decide what to eat before they bailed?”
“Uh, yeah,” Alex shifted to face him better. “They all want buttermilk pancakes and then one guy also wants eggs and sausage.”
“Three buttermilks…” the guy muttered as he wrote them down. “Eggs and sausage. And do you know what you want?”
He looked directly into Alex’s eyes as he rested the tray under his arm and it took everything Alex had not to melt right there. Don’t look at his lips, he thought. He was pretty sure his eyes had betrayed him but he forced his gaze downward as a cover.
“I’m sorry,” he said, flustered. “I actually forgot to look at the menu.”
“Right, ‘cuz you were carsick, sorry” the waiter chuckled, running a hand through his hair. Alex bit his tongue.
“I should probably get some food still,” he managed to say. “We’ve got a long day ahead of us.”
“Right on. I could recommend some toast - that’s always easy on the stomach. That comes with eggs, and I could add in some banana for you.”
“That actually sounds great,” Alex told him. “I’ll just do that, then.”
The waiter smiled and bit his lip.
“‘Kay!” He lifted the tray from under his arm and headed back toward the kitchen, doing a little skip before disappearing inside.
Alex felt his hands shaking and he sat on them for a minute. Looking around the empty diner, a thought occurred that somehow with just him and the waiter it had seemed full. The strange feeling crept all over him, like a new exhilarating energy, and he moved his hands back up. The waiter popped back out of the kitchen and came back toward Alex in a cavalier fashion.
“Mind if I join you?” he asked. “I don’t exactly have other people to help and I feel bad leaving you all by yourself in here.”
“Make yourself at home,” Alex said, gesturing to the seat across from him. Make yourself at home? What is that? he berated himself.
The guy extended a hand for him to shake. “I’m Willie, by the way.”
“Alex.” As he took it, Alex returned the firm grip he received and they both chuckled a bit at noticing each other’s strength. Willie sat down and immediately grabbed a napkin from the dispenser.
“So you said you and your friends have a long day ahead of you?” he asked.
“Oh right,” Alex couldn’t believe he had forgotten about the guys for a minute. “We’re a band, so we’ve got a gig opening for Julie Molina tonight.”
“Wicked,” Willie smiled and nodded, folding the napkin into something Alex wasn’t sure what it was supposed to be. “Who’s Julie Molina?”
“Oh, she’s just a good solo artist - does a little bit of everything. My buddy Luke is really into her.”
Willie nodded some more, continuing to fold the napkin.
“And who are you guys?”
“We’re Sunset Curve,” Alex said. “I’m the drummer.”
“Right on! You guys just becoming a thing?” Willie raised his eyebrows.
“I mean, I guess so,” Alex hadn’t exactly thought about it. “Opening for Julie is a big step for us.”
He watched Willie’s hands work until he finished. It turned out to be an origami frog.
“Ribbit,” Willie said, pressing on the top to make it look like it was moving. The napkin material didn’t exactly lend to bouncing up and down, which made them both giggle. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to be distracting.”
“I don’t mind,” Alex said. “It’s entertaining.”
He realized how widely he was smiling and laughed to himself.
“What about you?” he asked.
Willie straightened his posture and ran a hand through his hair again. He flailed his arms and blew out his cheeks before holding one arm with the other and leaning on the table.
“Making it on my own for now. I just do whatever feels good, you know? Make a few bucks, get out and enjoy what I find. Don’t need a whole lot to be happy.”
Wow, Alex wanted that kind of chill. He picked up the origami frog.
“What do you do when you’re not here? Besides these, of course.”
Willie shrugged.
“Skate. Be free.” He smiled, but sighed heavily. Alex saw a distant look in his eyes, but knew now wasn’t a time to address it. “I see Vegas in all its glory. You should see the lights at night.”
“Won’t I see them tonight?”
Willie shook his head.
“Not the right way,” he told him. “Not at the right angle. I would show you, but you’ve got your gig and everything.”
Alex opened his mouth to reply, but a head stuck out of the kitchen door. A man with dark hair and chiseled features looked at Willie and all he did was glare authoritatively.
“I’m - coming,” Willie stammered, rising from his seat.
Alex realized his mouth was still open and he shut it, unhappily swallowing what he’d wanted to say.
“That was my boss,” Willie said, already in a hurry. “I’m sorry, I’ll be back when your food’s ready.” He rushed off and the diner felt empty and cold again.
As if on cue, Luke, Bobby and Reggie burst back through the door. Luke and Reggie were celebrating while Bobby seemed a little less enthusiastic.
“Dun-geon slay-er!” Reggie proclaimed in a mock deep voice. “Too bad we can’t stay longer and go for that tournament today; I would have whooped everyone.”
They all sat and immediately gulped down their waters. Bobby remained quiet.
“How was the arcade?” Alex asked.
“It was sweet,” Luke reported. “Bobby’s mad because Reggie mopped the floor with him.”
“The joystick wasn’t working right, it wasn’t a fair outcome,” Bobby defended.
“Oooohhh,” Reggie made a silly face and wiggled his fingers. “Bobby only loses when the game doesn’t work, ooohhh!”
Alex shook his head and laughed mildly. He only noticed then that his stomach had stopped bothering him completely. He hadn’t even felt it when he’d been talking with Willie. He finished his own water, and was happy not to feel anything as it went down. The origami frog was still on the table.
“Hey, Alex,” Reggie said, picking it up. “Did you make this?”
“Oh, no, Willie did,” he told him.
“Who’s Willie?” Luke asked.
Speak of the devil - the kitchen door opened and Willie came out carrying their plates.
“Alright, we got pancakes, pancakes, more pancakes,” he said, placing them where they belonged. He glanced at Alex quickly, but it was too quick to read. “Who had the eggs and sausage?”
“That was me,” Bobby said, raising his hand.
“Okay,” Willie passed it over to him. “And toast and eggs with a banana.” He smiled as he set it down before Alex. “And it looks like you all need more water, I’ll be right back!” He was gone too quickly again.
The change in his mood unsettled Alex, but maybe it was because Willie was working. As he saw Willie returning with the water pitcher he had an idea.
“Hey Luke,” he said. Luke turned to him expectantly as Willie silently poured water in their glasses.
“Where are we playing again?”
Luke looked confused. Willie was listening intently.
“The Pearl, why? How could you forget?”
“And what time do we play?”
“Eight o’ clock. You sure you’re feeling better?”
“Yeah. I was… I was just testing you, cuz sometimes you don’t remember.”
Luke looked around the table defensively.
Reggie shrugged. “He’s right. But you remembered this time!”
Alex felt bad about starting Luke in an argument as he listened to them continue, but he knew it would blow over quickly. He caught Willie looking back at him and nodding as he walked away. As he returned to his food, Bobby smirked at him and shook his head. Heat rose in his cheeks and he focused on his toast.

Watch Me Run - Part 17
Masterlist  -  Series Masterpage  -  Part 18
Summary: You inherit a family relic that gives you the gift of foresight but there are others who are interested for more nefarious reasons. You turn to the Avengers for help. (Bucky x reader)
Chapter: You finally make contact with the Avengers again but everything is not as it seems. Or rather everyone.
Word Count: 1928
A/N: the next 2 chapters are more “Move the damn plot, Mee!” than “yes, brain! Deliver some flowing, symbolic prose!” I’m not thrilled about it either, but here we are.
Tumblr media
The village was small. Hearty in the way towns are that have crawled out of the wilderness, just barely keeping the wild at bay. It was rugged and worn, and if you’d been there by yourself, you’d have passed right through without marking it.
Bucky pulled the creaking truck beside one of the larger single-story buildings. You’d have guessed the shutters hadn’t been painted since they were installed sometime in the late 1960s. The windows were probably last cleaned around the same time. The concrete wouldn’t need painting. No, eventually it would crumble into the dust whence it came.
For now, the entire side of the building had taken on a soft brown patina; decades of road dust streaked grey with the steady drip of melting snow and ice. Most couldn’t have picked it out of a line-up from the other buildings. Nothing distinguished this one as a government building except the sign in the filthy window of the door advertising its hours of operation. You doubted very much if their adherence was strictly enforced.
“Only library with wifi for the next hundred miles,” Bucky had told you as he gassed up the truck for the drive. You’d yawned and handed him a coffee in a white styrofoam cup. The liquid was black and cloudy as the sky overhead. Even the 3 creams you’d dumped into yours had done little to brighten the stale, hefty brew.
The library door groaned when Bucky drew it open for you. Not the gentle squeak of a place welcoming a new guest. No, this was the deep angry howl of a door stubborn and calloused in its disuse. The woman scowling at you from behind the counter stood as the physical embodiment of the very sound. Grey wisps of hair tumbled out of a hastily tied knot, a worn and grease-stained flannel hung on heavy shoulders over top of a fading wool knit. The collar had begun to fray long ago, as had this woman’s patience.
“Hi.” You offered as pleasant a smile as you could find, a customer service smile, though you were the customer.
The frown didn’t budge one millimeter. Her eyes though, turned to Bucky when he stomped heavy boots on the rug at the door. Muddy slush from the day-old snow dropped off his boots in clumps.
“Please wipe your boots outside,” she scolded.
“The snow’s right up to the door—“
Her head snapped and her eyes burned with the sort of anger only a stern teacher could conjure.
“Yes ma’am,” Bucky nodded before cracking the door just enough to knock his boots on the brick wall.
“Do you need somethin’?” she asked you. Not, ‘Can I help you?’ Not, ‘Are you looking for something in particular?’ Not even a, ‘Are you lost?’ This was a terse, ‘Honey, I know you’re lost and I know trouble. I want nothin’ to do with either.’
“Yes,” you jumped forward, matching her eagerness to rush you out. “I’m um… I’m not from here and—“
“Well I can see that.”
Bucky stepped in then, a scowl as deep as her own. He turned it down on you though. If you could kick yourself, you would. One of his rules of being on the run – don’t give away unnecessary information. Not who you are, where you’re going, who’s coming for you, not even what you need. Be nondescript. This was a difficult rule to follow when you were a nervous talker, when your sympathy scale was off the charts and the best way you knew to communicate was to connect in a personal way.
“We need to use your computer,” Bucky said simply. “You have internet here?”
She pointed to a back corner of the building. “Yeah. We even have indoor plumbing,” she grumbled.
“Well, she hates us,” you fidgeted, leaning close to whisper at Bucky’s shoulder as he led the way toward the computers. “You remember people you hate. She’s going to report us or something.”
Bucky chuckled as he looked back at you. “To who?”
“I don’t know… a Mountie? Loki could be anywhere right? Anyone?”
“Loki is from another planet. He’s not Interpol. There’s no hotline running for us. Far as she knows we’re a couple on a fishing trip.”
“Really? You don’t think she’ll remember us?”
He shrugged, pulling a chair over beside the one he took in front of the computer. “She wouldn’t have remembered some idiot who forgot to wipe his boots. Probably gonna remember ‘I’m not from here, please like me,’” he teased, donning a high squeak of a voice.
You smacked his arm with the back of your hand. “That’s not what I sound like.” A glance over your shoulder at the woman unfurling a cough drop at the desk. “She just looks so unhappy. How many  people smile at her in a day, you think?”
“Not enough,” Bucky agreed. Grim places made for grim people. Harsh living and meager needs made even the softest people harden at the edges. Necessity, he called it. Survival.
“See. I might be the weirdo that cowered at the library door, but she’ll have a story to tell her partner when she gets home. Bet she’ll laugh about it.”
Bucky chuckled, sparing a glance over to you as he booted up the software. The computer was ancient and it made a dissatisfied grinding noise at the request.
“You laughed at least,” she nudged his shoulder with her own.
“That wasn’t a laugh,” he argued, failing to stifle a grin. “That was a… a snort at best.”
“Oh come on. There was at least a chortle.”
“A what?”
“A chortle! Look it up, we’re in a library. Ma’am!” you hollered, turning over your shoulder and waving.
“Knock it off!” Bucky laughed, reaching for your arm and pinning it to your side.
“Ma’am, could you point my friend here toward the dictionaries, he needs to look up a word—Umpfh!”
He’d clapped a hand over your mouth, the other still firmly wrapped around your arm, enveloping you thoroughly.
“No, we’re fine with the computer. Internet, so helpful,” he hollered, over your muffled chuckle.
The soft tickle of breath on his hand, the gentle shake of your laughing shoulders set off that warm, brightness in his chest. He was smiling down at you as he let go.
“Well I definitely got a smile, at least,” you nudged when he did lift his hand away. “You don’t smile enough either.”
“I smile.” His brow crinkled, like he wanted to scowl, but then… he would be proving your point. So he kept a half a smirk on his lips.
“Well, yeah, everybody smiles sometimes. But you rarely,  and you never laugh—“
“I do too. I laughed yesterday when you fell on the stairs.”
“That was rude. You didn’t warn me they ice up like that.”
“It was funny,” he shrugged. “You looked like a cartoon. You should’ve seen your face.”
“You should see your face, Sir Scowls-A-Lot.”
“Scowl?” His eyes went wide and the smile threatened to erupt into an astonished laugh.
“Yes. You have the worst case of RBF I’ve ever seen.”
“What the hell is RBF…?” he wondered. But by now you were talking over each other, arguing and laughing all at once.
“People say, ‘If looks could kill…’ but, really. When you’re grumpy it’s like… if looks could kill, gimme Captain America’s shield because, nothing could stop those silver bullets.”
“It’s not that bad,” he rolled his eyes, typing away on the keyboard.
“It is. I mean, it’s fine, it’s a good looking face, so it works. But it’s a definite scowl.”
“A good looking face?” His entire visage lit into a grin now. His grey eyes were sharp and glittering like the cat that got the canary.
You were suddenly, glaringly aware that you’d been carrying on about all the little looks you’d noticed about your indefinite bodyguard all while you were still pressed tight against him from shoulder to hip. Heat flooded your cheeks and nose and throat at a record pace as you scrambled for a proverbial ripcord.
“Oh, you know you’re handsome.” When had denial ever worked for anyone? Misdirection, was clearly the way out. “Don’t act like I’m the first person to tell you that.”
He was still as marble for a long moment while you picked at your nails. The grin had dimmed a little, no longer a beaming mischievous thing, it had settled to a gentle warmth. He was Bucky again, the one who carefully assuaged your fears, who listened, who made eggs when hot pockets wouldn’t do.
“No,” he agreed finally and you looked up at the sweet softness of his tone. “First time in a long time it’s mattered to me, though. For some damn reason… I care what you think.”
“Hello?? Is this thing even working??” Tony’s voice thrummed angrily through the computer’s speakers. “Barnes, can you hear me?”
Bucky took a sharp breath, deep into his lungs, breathing in the last of the stillness between you and taking it with him when he turned to the monitor. “Yeah,” he said and then he was talking to Tony. Something about a Doctor and the big bang and some powerful stones. But you couldn’t take your eyes off of Bucky.
Tumblr media
Tony was irritable. Fuming, actually. The “doot-doot blub-blub-ting doot-doot” of the videocall ringtone repeated again, fueling the inferno. Waiting on technology was not something he was accustomed to. Waiting for inelegant, vulnerable technology that was too old to exist to project an image of the inside of his offices out into the world, well that would have been an a resolute No before today. But his teammates are nothing if not stubborn. Barnes most of all.
“Finally!” he sighed, leaning forward and peering at the image. “Why is it so grainy. I can’t… That’s a terrible picture.”
“It’s good enough,” Dr. Strange deadpanned beside him.
“No that can’t be it. Connection’s bad or something. They can’t even hear us talking!” He began waving haphazardly at the screen, hoping to catch the eye of the soldier or the stone-keeper.
That’s when he noticed what was actually on the screen. Bucky’s arm around you, tightly. A laugh. The goddamn Winter Soldier, your guardian for this mission, looking down at you as though he…
“Holy shit,” Tony mumbled, leaning closer. “Are you seeing this?”
“Yeah, you have to allow the app to access your microphone,” Strange rolled his eyes, entirely missing the point.
“Hey, Rogers?” Tony called just as Steve strode into the room, slightly out of breath. “I think your bestie has compromised the mission.”
His eyes were glued to the screen as Steve leaned his shoulder with a hand on the desk to get a closer look.
“Indeed,” he hummed through a grin as he watched the screen.
“What?” Tony frowned up at him.
Steve shook his head minutely. “Bucky’s fine. He’s only ever failed one mission. And I’m not this mission.”
Tony’s frown never lifted as his eyes darted over Steve. Doubt clouded them for but a moment. He hammered a quick line of code into the digital projection of a keyboard and swiped the screen away.
“Hello?? Is this thing even working??” Tony asked after patching the room’s audio systems through to the rudimentary video conferencing software. “Barnes, can you hear me?”
Not a second later, Steve – or rather Loki projecting himself as Steve – noticed a slight shift in the cameras in the room. One after another, they made slow sweeping turns until he stood squarely within each and every frame.

Ask game! Fluffy #8 "We should go look at stars!" Please! 🤗
Thanks for the request @moondancer71. A fluffy prompt deserves sweet teens Jon and Dany. Aren’t they just adorable?
Tumblr media
#8 - “We should go look at stars”
Dany rolled over in bed, hugging the pillow tightly to her chest and squeezed her eyes shut to stave off the tears. She tried to focus on the music that was blasting through her headphones, but it was no use. It didn’t matter what tricks she tried to employ, none of them were able to drown out the terrible screaming coming from her parents room.
She should have known they wouldn’t be able to stop their constant bickering, even if it was her big day and they had both promised that morning over breakfast that they’d make it special for her.
But those vows didn’t matter any longer, hadn’t as soon as they both sat down and ordered drinks at her nameday dinner. Now, they were both well and drunk and the gloves were off. What else was new?
The ding of an incoming text caused her eyes to flutter open. She flipped her phone over and the corners of her mouth curved up automatically.
You back from dinner with your family?
It was from Jon, her next door neighbor and best friend.
Just listening to music in my room. You?
She watched the bubbles appear while he was typing and then his message came through.
We should go look at stars.
Biting her lip, she contemplated a moment. It was a school night and almost midnight so she probably shouldn’t. If her parents found out, they’d have a fit.
At the sound of a door slamming and a flurry of curses from her father, her eyes narrowed as she tossed the pillow aside. They didn’t care one bit that they had broken their promise to her, so why should she try so hard to please them?
Ok, let’s do it.
Dany jumped out of bed and quickly took off her ratty tshirt and shorts. Jon had seen her in them before, but lately she’d been wanting to look a bit more put together in front of him. She put on the gift her brother Rhae had given her, no doubt picked out by his wife.
It was a metallic purple and gold striped tank with spaghetti straps. The sweetheart neckline had a heart on the front and hugged close to her body. She paired it with skinny jeans and looked at herself in the mirror, pleased with the way the new top looked on her.
She wondered briefly if Jon would think it was too revealing so she grabbed her purple and yellow jacket and threw it on, zipping it all the way up.
Stepping out onto her balcony, she quietly dragged a chair over close to the roofline and stood on it. Within a minute, his head popped over the side and he grinned down at her.
“Ready to come up?” he asked as he reached for her hands.
Nodding her head, she lifted both arms overhead and he pulled her all the way up to join him. Taking a moment, they grinned at each other in the dark.
They had been sneaking up on her roof for the last three years, ever since her brother Viserys moved out for school and she got his old room. Shortly after that time, Jon started climbing the tree between their houses so he could use it to come over to her side.
It began because they didn’t have cell phones and couldn’t talk after dark, but now, though they both had their own, they still liked to go up there. It was their secret and a special place, just for the two of them.
He held her hand to keep her steady as they moved to the spot he had already picked out, a blanket laid out to cushion them from the rough shingles and a little box beside it. He tried to ignore how soft and warm she was, how her fingers curled tightly to his.
Tried not to focus on how perfect her hand felt clasped within his own.
As Jon pulled her along to where he had his stuff set out, she thought she felt a tremor of his fingers along hers, but dismissed it as wishful thinking. He was so self assured and confident; there wasn’t any need for him to be nervous.
Unlike her, she was sure his heart wasn’t pounding away in his chest; certain he didn’t have problems breathing at her nearness the way she seemed to be at his.
They sat side by side and she took the time to unzip her jacket and shrug it off her shoulders. She snuck a glance at him and pretended not to notice the way his eyes widened slightly at the sight of her. Instead, she bit her lip to keep her pleased smile from giving her away.
From their height on the roof, the streetlamps didn’t really provide much lighting, but still, he couldn’t seem to keep his eyes off of her. Dany was so pretty under the full moon with the stars shining brightly overhead, her silver blonde hair illuminating her lovely face.
“How was your celebration dinner?”
She gave a listless shrug of one shoulder, her lips turned down in a frown. “It was ok, I guess. Since Vis and Rhaenys couldn’t take time off from uni, it was just my parents, Rhae, Elia and Egg.”
Dany tried to smile, but he could see the sadness in her eyes. “Was it another bad fight?”
Letting out a sigh, she leaned into him and he wrapped his arm around her, tucking her closer to his side.
“Yes,” she said quietly. “They were doing so well, but then once they started drinking, I just knew it was going to end badly. My father accused my mother of cheating, then she called him crazy and that pretty much got us kicked out of the restaurant.”
She thought back to earlier and how humiliating it was with all the diners gawking at them while Rhae scrambled to take care of the check after her parents stormed out of the restaurant.
“Elia wanted me to spend the night at their house after they dropped us off, but I didn’t want to,” she explained. “I just wanted to go to sleep and wait for this awful day to end.”
She lay her head on his shoulder and even though she was being truthful when she said she couldn’t wait for the day to be over, it was no longer the case. More than anything, she wanted this moment to linger.
“Dany, I’m so sorry you had an awful night.”
It came as no shock that they ruined her day. Too many times he’d seen her eyes red rimmed in the morning on their drive to school. He always had to bite his tongue and put on a polite smile if one of her parents greeted him at the door when all he wanted to do was tell them off for the pain they caused her.
Jon reached between them and squeezed her hand gently before letting go. “I wish I could have made your nameday better.”
She lifted her face up, her eyes holding his steadily and his breath hitched for just a moment. Sometimes, when she looked at him, really looked at him, as she was doing now, he thought maybe she could see right through him. Maybe she knew his secret after all.
A secret that was shaped just like her. One he held in the depths of his heart, too afraid to let out for fear that he would ruin everything between them.
“You already have, Jon.”
His beautiful face lit up in a smile and it made her smile in turn. He had no idea that just being with him like this, in their secret hideaway, was better than any gift she had been given.
Up here, under the blanket of shining stars, there was nothing but silence. No screaming, cursing or crying. No empty promises that would go unfilled. No disappointed sighs over thick tension at the dinner table.
Up here, under the watchful eye of the moon, the only sounds were the giggles Jon always coaxed from her. His eyes spoke promises his lips never had to say, telling her she would always matter to him. And the only sighs ever heard were when they had to part from one another.
Shifting back from her, he opened the box sitting beside him.
“Close your eyes,” he said. “I have a surprise for you.”
“What is it?” She tried to peek around his body, but he moved to intercept and block her view.
“No peeking,” he chastised. “Just close your eyes and you’ll find out soon enough.”
She pouted for just a split second, but did as he requested. His hands drew hers from her lap and brought them to hold out in front of her. She could feel the tingle of his touch and tried not to hold on to his fingers as he pulled away from her.
Something lightweight was placed into her palms and she perked her ears, trying to figure out what he was doing as she heard a couple of clicks, then a sizzle. She could smell smoke and behind her closed lids, she saw lights dancing.
“Ok, you can open your eyes now.”
She gasped in surprise at the sight that greeted her and was hit with a wave of embarrassment when her eyes suddenly teared up.
“You got me a cake!”
Dany was blinking rapidly and in the flickering light from the sparkling candle, he could see her eyes were wet with tears. He hoped she wouldn’t cry because that wasn’t his intent at all.
“Well, not exactly,” he said sheepishly. “It’s just a cupcake, but I figure you might be caked out from dinner so this is just a little something extra.”
She didn’t say anything and just looked at him as she bit her lip, violet eyes extra large in the soft glow of light. “I didn’t want the day to end without letting you know how special you are.”
“Oh, Jon,” she sighed out. “Thank you so much.”
He had no idea, but his gesture truly meant more than she could ever say. The truth was, there wasn’t a nameday cake for her. Her parents' antics caused the dinner to be cut short and in the ensuing fallout, the restaurant staff completely forgot about bringing her cake out from the kitchen.
No one in her family even remembered it and not only did it feel petty to bring it up, but she didn’t exactly feel like celebrating with anyone after that.
“I would sing to you, but I think you’ve suffered enough for one night,” he teased.
She giggled at him and bumped her knee against his. “C’mon, you have a pretty voice.”
Shaking his head, he refused to budge. There was no way he’d sing to her, especially after she called his voice pretty. “Even though I won’t serenade you, you can still make a wish.”
Dany could see he wasn’t going to give in so she closed her eyes. She didn’t even have to think about it; she knew exactly what she wanted. Perhaps, since the heavens were bearing witness to this moment, they would finally grant her what she wished for most in this world.
Blinking her eyes open, she blew out the single flame and once again they were bathed in only the light from the dark sky above.
“Will you share the cupcake with me?” she asked.
At his nod, she unwrapped the paper lining and split the dessert into two halves before handing his piece to him.
Jon watched as she poked her tongue out and licked at the top of the icing. Instantly, he felt flushed and he was grateful for the dark that hid his red face. Unlike the small ladylike nibbles she was taking, he took two bites and finished the whole thing while her eyes goggled at him.
After four more bites, she was almost done and turned to him. Holding out the small morsel, she gave him a shy smile. “Since you were so sweet to get me a cupcake, I want you to have the last piece.”
Before he could reach out to take it from her, she brought her hands up to his lips. Their eyes locked in the dark and his mouth opened automatically to receive her.
He was warm against her fingertips and when he took the sweet from her, his teeth grazed her skin, just the tiniest bit. It sent a jolt of electricity through her and she quickly pulled her hand back, less he noticed how they shook.
Her fingers were smeared with icing and not giving it any thought, she brought them to her mouth and licked at the sugar, right over where his lips had just been a moment before.
Watching as she lightly sucked on her finger, he was overcome with a need to finish what she started. Maybe it was the look on her face as her eyes stared into his, but a streak of boldness took over and he leaned over until their faces were inches apart.
“I thought you said I’d get the last taste.”
Without hesitation, her fingers popped out from between her lips and he closed in until he was pressed against her skin. He lightly skimmed his mouth over the cream smeared tips, barely stroking them before her hand dropped away.
With nothing to separate them, he moved in and finally, brushed his lips against hers.
Jon could taste the sweetness of her, but knew it had nothing to do with the icing. This was a moment he’d only dreamed about and he savored the flavor of Dany on his mouth.
His arms came to wrap gently around her waist and she shifted into him. As they tentatively explored their secret yearnings for one another, she breathed in the scent of him, letting it wash over and wrap around her.
He was hot against her lips and their mouths danced, taking turns leading. Her body was humming from being held in his strong arms, a warmth flooding through her veins at his touch. This was where she wanted to stay forever, with their hearts beating furiously together as they held onto each other.
When they pulled apart, she fluttered her lids open to find him watching her, his eyes shining, a hopeful smile on his face .
“What do you want to do now?” he asked, his breathing slightly labored. “Do you want to head back inside?”
“No,” she said with a slight shake of her head before her own smile lit up her face. “I would like to look at stars.”
Grinning widely, he lay back on the blanket and opened his arm, patting one shoulder in invitation. She moved into his embrace and he closed in around her.
“Happy Nameday, Dany,” Jon whispered against her ear before placing a small kiss to her temple.
She snuggled against him and smiled up at the stars in a silent bid of thanks. It was a happy nameday. It truly was.

Day 5: Soulmarks
This is a re-post of my 2019 one-shot “Destiny and the Domino Effect.” It’s a Modern AU that isn’t my faux flower shop thing. Click on the title to read it on AO3, or keep reading under the cut!
The day Katara got her mark, she was beset by nervous laughter. Her hands shook and Suki had to take the picture for her YoPic account. Aang smiled patiently and placed his hand on the table palm down. After taking a breath, Katara set hers down, having their pinkies touch. Suki took the picture and handed the phone to Aang, as Katara was still shaking.
It’s a match! #GotMarked #Blessed #ToldYaWeWereSoulmates
The rest of the day was a blur. They had to call Hakoda and the congratulatory texts started to pour in. Needing a moment to herself, Katara went into the bedroom of their apartment and shut the door. As she sat on the edge of the bed, she felt her phone buzz and pulled it out of her pocket.
Guess I’m the last one left. You owe me a very expensive bottle of wine.
Katara smiled and let her shoulders fall.
The Soulmate’s mark was anxiety inducing. As soon as the person was “sure” or in a place where they could safely admit their feelings, then the mark would pop up. This meant that one person could get their mark before their partner.
Sometimes it ended fine. Sokka had gotten his before Suki, and the weeks between had kind of been a mess. When he stressed, he worried that his attitude would delay Suki’s mark even more, and other times he just held onto his belief that Suki’s mark would match his. And it did.
Sometimes it ended horribly. Mai hadn’t been bothered when she had gotten her mark while Zuko would boil over from time to time from the anxiety. Then, one day and matter-of-fact, Mai informed him that someone else had her mark and she left.
Book-ending these events was this pairing. Aang had gotten his mark very early into knowing Katara, and had been convinced from day one that it was meant for her. After every holiday, birthday, special event, or particularly romantic date, Katara would stare at her hands, willing them to change.
Toph had to intervene, dragging both her and Zuko out to a very weird resort for two weeks. Katara could only remember a few of those days, as the rest had been obliterated by alcohol or sheer terror from the “bonding excursions” Toph had planned.
One night, she and Zuko had escaped. They hid themselves away and talked about everything other than their lack of marks. At the end, they had agreed that whomever got their mark first had to buy the other a very expensive bottle of wine.
I’ll buy you the finest vintage I can find in the FastMart.
Katara sent the text and fell backward onto the bed. Lifting up her arm, she looked at the back of her hand.
The marks were supposed to be special. It represented the couple and was supposed to be meaningful.
Aang said their mark was a mix of their cultures, but Katara only saw a curled arrow.
Katara covered her face with her hands and sighed.
Aang wasn’t a big traditionalist, so they had agreed on a small ceremony. Still, there was planning to do, and Katara did most of the running around. Aang helped when he was asked, but offered no input, saying he didn’t mind since at the end they would be just as married no matter what happened.
So weeks passed and Katara barely had time to think. With the mounting stress, Aang decided it would be best if he gave her space. He and a group from his work had planned an office trip to a nearby mountain to go skiing and would be gone for the weekend.
“You should try to relax. Why don’t you hang out or something?” He said and kissed her goodbye.
When Katara did see Zuko again, he was the one with the wine. She let him into the apartment and ushered Appa back onto his massive pillow. Even though he always said it was fine, Katara always felt bad about the dog hair that invariably ended up covering Zuko’s nice clothes.
They transitioned in a rush of radio static. She fumbled over his congratulations, thanking him for the wine. Holding out her hands to take his coat but being handed the bottle. They laughed, and Katara stared at the label in silence as Zuko hung up his coat. Then Katara remembered she had to uncork it and darted into the kitchen.
She asked about his drive as she dug in the corkscrew. He answered apathetically as he moved around her to grab two glasses. She frowned as she tried to pull the cork out and he chuckled. At his insistence, she handed him the bottle and saw her mark. She lowered her hand to her side as he pulled out the cork with a loud POP! He handed her the bottle, talking about the vintage, and she poured. He twisted the cork off the screw and mentioned a new take out place had opened a few blocks away. She replied it didn’t have many vegetarian options so she didn’t eat there often. She handed him a glass and took up her own.
“Cheers.” Katara said.
“Congratulations.” Zuko replied and they clinked glasses.
Katara took a slow sip and looked back down at the counter. The cork looked like one of the government seal stamps. The corkscrew was neatly folded next to it like a closed inkpad.
“So how do you feel?” Zuko asked. Katara swirled her glass and watched the oily arches.
“Relieved.” She answered quickly.
“Not excited?”
Katara looked over at him.
“Should I be?”
“Well, I mean, most people don’t sound so…”
“So what?”
“Most couples are just more excited when they match.”
“Well, we all already knew it was coming, right?”
“Not everything is a sure thing.”
Katara and Zuko turned away from each other as they drank in silence. Katara leaned against the counter as Zuko walked to the other side. She set down her glass and started to spin the corkscrew.
“It was just a lot of pressure. Having his expectation and nothing ever happening.” Katara stopped the corkscrew. “It’s nice to not have to worry about it.”
When Zuko didn’t respond, Katara looked up at him.
“What?”
“When did it happen?”
“My mark?”
“Yeah.”
Katara covered up her hesitation by drinking more of her wine.
“I just made the decision to be sure.”
“So you resigned yourself to it?”
“That’s not.” Katara felt her whole body warm as she lurched forward. “That is crossing the line Zuko.”
“You are absolutely right and I sincerely apologize for that.” Zuko sighed and rubbed his eyes with his free hand. He finally gave in and leaned against the opposite corner, but still kept hold of his glass.
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay.”
“No, it isn’t. I’m being a jerk because I’m frustrated and I will do better to not be such a jerk.”
Katara looked down at her glass.
“I appreciate you letting me off the hook so easy,” Zuko said. “but you don’t need to cover for my bad behavior.”
Katara snapped her eyes back up. “Do you think that’s what I’m doing?”
Zuko flinched and his eyes widened. “I, no? I just mean, I was told I shouldn't rely on other people making my apologies for me.”
“Yeah, but I already know you. I know that if I call you out and you apologize, you mean it. We already got to this point.”
Zuko gave her a wry smile. “You were the first one to trust me.”
Katara gave a sharp laugh, but then sighed. “And you understood me.”
They lapsed into silence again, and the air felt cool between them.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He asked.
They talked until they finished the bottle. Then, while Katara ordered takeout from the new place, Zuko ran down to his car, bringing up two more. They talked over food and the next bottle. They talked as they took Appa out on a night walk. They talked as they sat on the floor of the kitchen, sharing the cold remains of takeout and the last bottle.
They never stayed on one topic for long, and as the night crept past midnight, Katara wouldn’t have been able to follow one thread anyway.
“Did I ever tell you about-” Katara stopped herself and snapped her mouth shut. Zuko tilted his head and looked at her.
“What?”
“No, I know I told you already.”
“Tell me again.”
“No, that’s boring.”
“You thought about it for a reason. I want to know what just popped into your head and then I am going to evis-, eviths-, evisceserate the reason for my own amusement.”
“You’re drunk.”
“Oh I forgot to say.”
“What?”
“Nice glass house you got here.”
Zuko took a drink as Katara picked up a chopstick and threw it at him.
At some point, she fell asleep. She could remember Zuko carrying her to bed and when she woke, there was a glass of water and two white tablets.
When Katara exited her bedroom, she was more hydrated, in her pajamas, and a little bit cleaner. The rest of her apartment was quiet, and she wondered if Zuko had already left.
Then she walked into the living room and saw him splayed out on the couch.
Leaving him there, Katara set about making breakfast. When the eggs were frying, Zuko shuffled in and grabbed a piece of bacon on his way to the coffee pot.
“How are you feeling buddy?” Katara asked, smiling as she swirled the eggs with chopsticks.
“Rough.” He mumbled
“Go wash your face or something. It’ll help.”
Zuko made some sort of grumbling grunt and shuffled to the bathroom. He had not abandoned his coffee mug.
They ate and when Katara took Appa out, Zuko cleaned up. She was surprised that she found him ready to leave when she returned.
“You’re leaving?”
“Yeah. I have to get some things done.”
Katara stayed quiet as she knelt down to unclip Appa’s leash. Once free, Appa bounded away to his water bowl. She watched the dog’s shaggy body wiggle as he lapped greedily, making the bowl jump on the rubber mat.
A pale hand came into view and Katara took it. Her hand still held the leash, so she looked down as once again she was awkwardly fumbling.
Then she saw the hand.
“Or are you meeting someone?” Katara asked slyly.
“What do you mean?”
Katara, still holding Zuko’s hand, held it up with a broad grin.
“You got your mark!” She said excitedly. As happy as she knew she was, her hangover made her stomach sour and it felt like an empty pit.
“Are you serious?” Zuko blurted.
Not wanting to see his face, Katara looked at their clasped hands.
“It looks like a wave of fire.” Zuko said.
“I know.” Katara whispered, seeing the exact same mark.
And no curling arrow.

Note
could you please write something for haikyuu where reader is kidnapped by their crush and (let's just say they have issues as well) so they're just flattered by the attention of the yandere and completely down with it 😥
Ok!! So this strikes me as a very Daichi (he’s very soft) thing to do? That or Oikawa? Also shoot I try to keep these gender neutral, but I think I accidentally made the reader more feminine (dresses are in your closet, calls you princess

Daichi Sawamura
Tumblr media
You were warm. A soft fuzzy light filters through white curtains as you sit up on a plush bed. Blankets cover your legs. Those aren’t your blankets, those aren’t your curtains. This isn’t your house. You hear a knock.
“Come in?” It’s a meek, meek sound you make as the door creaks open so delicately. You’ve never really liked when your family came into your room, but this wasn’t your room, and chances are that wasn’t your family knocking. So when the captain of the famed volleyball team walks into the room you’re a little taken aback. It’s not everyday where someone so normally levelheaded and polite keeps you in their house for one reason or another.
“I didn’t mean to, but please stay here? I’ll take good care of you.” He’s leaning against the door unthreateningly. “Oh this is probably - I’ll give you some space okay? Food’ll be ready soon, I’ll bring some to you if you don’t come out of your room.” He seems to realize that he might be intruding as he stares at your blushing face. He closes your door gently and you hear the popping of a stove as it turns on. You start shedding the blankets off of you, swinging your legs over the lavish covers of your new bed. You could live with a gentle captor after the years with your family. Your feet hit the hard wood of the ground and a chill is sent through you. To stop the chill crawling through your body, you wrap one of your large, fluffy blankets around you. Your room is decorated in soft pastel greens and whites and lots of books. Your closet has been filled exclusively with  long floral dresses. Which begs the question, what are you wearing right now? The Volleyball captain seems to have put a mirror in your room, several pictures of you from school are stuffed into the side of the mirror. You sleeping in class, were you two in the same class? You didn’t think so but maybe you were wrong. Shedding the blanket for a quick second reveals that you are in the same clothes you remember putting on before... what exactly happened? Feeling the return of the cold on your body you pick up your blanket and seeing as you need some questions answered, you go to find your chef and photographer.
“So, uhm” You don’t know his name do you?
“Sawamura Daichi, I should’ve introduced myself earlier, huh?” He chuckles a little as he turns from a pan to look at you.
“Sawamur-” You start.
“Everyone calls me Daichi, you especially, shouldn’t be an exception.” He turns back to preparing some pan fried dish.
“Daichi? I Guess I should’ve known that, everyone talks about the volleyball captain!” You smile at him, he’s being sweet and anyone would appreciate that. “So, my mind seems to be blanking on what happened before i came here, would you mind telling me?” Well that was presumptuous to assume that he actually knows. Maybe you passed out and he was kind enough to pick you up off the side of the road.
“I took you from your house. I’m not very keen on putting you back though, so please try to get used to living with me.” He’s spun on a dime at your words and offers a sympathetic smile.
“You took me from my house?” You feel like crying as you speed over to him by the stove. “Thank you Daichi,” He seems a little taken startled at your willingness to hug him but wraps his strong arms around your waist anyways. “Thank you so much.” Your pretty sure the wetness on his clothes is because you’re crying,
“Of course, I knew you’d be happier with me than stuck there,” He smiles as he leans his face down into your hair, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. It’s the first time you’ve been kissed.
“You look really cute y’know?” His palms are on your shoulders, pushing you gently away from his chest. “Wrapped up in that blanket, it’s so big on you.” He’s blushing as he looks at you.
“Oh uhm, thank you,” Though your cheeks are still wet, they’ll evaporate at this rate. “What’re we having to eat?”
“Fried eggs, if that’s alright. I’m afraid I mainly eat protein.”
“Oh that’s fine! It’ll be nice to eat with someone!”
“Do you wanna eat in the kitchen or your room?” He’s asking if you want to eat somewhere and you’re pretty sure it’s more than anyone in your family’s asked before.
“My room, if that’s alright? It’s very comfortable.”
“I’m glad you like, I designed it for you!” Daichi smiles a lot, it’s the most anyone had smiled at you and you can get used to it. He hands you a white plate with a fried egg, perfectly brown and with the now free palm, guides you to the door you had left open. “Have you looked at your closet yet?” You nod as he sets a large towel that you hadn’t seen him take on the bed. “One second, I need to get my plate. Don’t start without me!” He dashes out of the still open door and returns equally as quickly with his plate, also with one egg. You sit one the towel he’d laid out.
“You ready yet?” He sets down his plate and is about to sit next to you on the bed before doing a quick double take.
“Shi- I forgot utensils, sorry to make you wait.” The way he physically restrains himself in front of you is cute and you can’t help but let out a small giggle.
“No no, you’ve already done so much today, tell me where to find the utensils and I’l-”
“I couldn’t very well make my guest,” He trails off for a second with some uncharacteristic muttering. “Lift a finger! Let me get the forks.”
“Thank you Daichi, you don’t have to do all of this for me, but I really appreciate it.” His eyes go a little soft at your words. Before he seems to realize that he should be getting forks and once again, exits the room calling back,
“Be right back!” And true to his word less than thirty second later, he is sitting on the bed, two forks in hand.
“Thank you again! You shouldn’t be the only one doing work though, let me do something for you!” You cut a piece of egg, and place it into your mouth. It’s much better than you thought it would’ve been.
“Well you’ve seen the closet, right?” You affirm this fact with a quick nod. “There’s this one dress I’d love for you to try on if you wouldn’t mind.” Its a more sheepish smile this time, like he’s a little embarrassed.
“You’re embarrassed!” You can’t contain your fit of giggles this time. This volleyball captain is so much more than the typical jock.
“Wh- what?” He sputters with a dusting of color on his cheeks. “I’m no-”
“It’s cute!” You say through a mouthful of egg as you wiggle your fork at him. He ceases to know how to respond at calling him cute. You suppose it wouldn’t be to bad to help him out a little. HIs reactions truly are, quite cute. “What’s the dress?”
“O-Oh, it’s uhh,” He buries his face in his hands. “It’s with with blue flowers embroidered on it, it’s my favorite dress.” He’s almost mumbling and he hasn’t eaten any of his egg.
“Well,” You raise a morsel to your lips. “If you’ll eat and get out, I’ll change for you.” His cheeks burn at the words ‘for you’ escape your mouth.
“O-okay, you don-” He stops speaking before he can finish his sentence, instead noticing the egg on his plate. The fork he had’t touched since it was put on the towel finds its way into his hands and he scarf up the egg in three bites,
“Ok,” You swing off the cushy bed for a second time today and walk to your closet. Sifting through the clothing you find a simple white dress, at the bottom of the skirt, purple-blue blue bells grow from the hem. Holding the dress out, you turn towards Daichi. “Is this it?” His eyes are wide as he nods quickly before evacuating your room. As soon as your door clicks shut, you are slipping out of your cloths and into he blue bell dress.
“Okay! You can come in, you may have to zip it up a little though!!” You call a little louder than normal and you’re half convinced that Daichi was just waiting with his hand on the doorknob for you to be finished as he tumbles into the room holding a camera.
“You look, uhh - may I take a picture? You look adorable.”
“Thank you! And sure, you can take a picture, but please, zip the rest of the dress up, i can’t reach it.”
“Of course!” His legs stride nimbly over to you at the mirror and you are reminded of the pictures he has stored on the edges.
“You have a favorite picture of me?”
“It’s the one where you’re sitting in your room, trying on a dress.” The sound of a zipper is white noise in the background as you scan the edges of the mirror for when you were trying on a dress. You find it quickly, it’s in the top right corner. You were probably awake in the middle of the night, when everything was quiet so you could be left alone.
“So, should I ask about why you have all these pictures of me? Do I have a stalker?” Really you don’t mind, the teasing in your voice got it across quiet well you hoped.
“No sweetheart, I’m just-” His voice stops and if you look at the mirror close enough, you can see his posture has become more ridged.
“Sweetheart?” That came out of left field, but it wasn’t unpleasent.
“Can I call you that?”
“I’ve just. Never been called that before, it’s sweet.” He’s finished zipping your dress and you can see it’s been made to fit your exact measurements.
Daichi breaths a sigh of relief. “Oh,” He moves out of the reflection in the mirror, throws the towel you two had used to eat on and picks up the camera he had set on a bedside table. “Could you sit on the bed for me?”
“Sure!”
“Now, tilt your head a little and smile for me Princess. Just like that, exactly.” The clicks of a camera are loud in the pastel room that is now yours.
“Did the-”
“We’re not done yet, i’m going to rearrange your position okay?”
“Okay Daichi!” He’s so kind to let you know what he’s going to do. So gentle as he tilts your head to look towards the ceiling.
“Give me a sec, stay right there sweetheart.” His voice is so happy and affirming and you can’t help but smile at it. He comes back about five minutes later. “Hold these please!” He hands you what feels like a bouquet. It fits snugly into your two hands and you take a flower out, bringing it to your nose. A rose. “Hold there, sweetheart.” You’re sure you hear a whisper of, “You look so good sweetheart, just like that.” Your lips can’t help but smile as the thorns poke into your finger. Blood drips down the rose like a raindrop on a windshield. Daichi breaths a “Perfect” before you hear the snap. “Thank you Princess, you look so beautiful like that, lets say we get that finger bandaged?”
“Of course!” You’ve never felt more happy in your life.  “I love you Daichi, you’re so kind.” He doesn’t blush this time, instead he puts down the camera and picks you up.
“I love you too Sweetheart. You’re such a good girl.” You giggle, he’s so cute and sweet.
“Thank you Daichi, I don’t know what I would’ve done without you.”
--
So fun fact! I was gonna add an Oikawa but then Daichi demanded that i make his segment longer because I love him. Fun fact two, Oikawa is gonna get his own post! Third fun fact? I hate the pet name sweetheart. Anyway, I’m so sorry requester that it took me so long to get this out to you, I hope you see it and enjoy what i’ve done with it!

[Whitty x Boyfriend]
Chapter 5 - Let's just chill!
Boyfriend awoke with a bit of an issue in the.. south region..
He groaned, putting a hand on his head before sitting up. It hurt too. He was about to handle it when he felt a presence to the side of him.
Whitty was just standing there..
Staring..
The blue haired male screamed and threw himself off the other side of the bed, which only made Whitty blink and lean over to look. "Sorry I startled you." He called to him. Boyfriend could only see the swirls in his vision. He eventually got up, pulling himself back onto his bed, also bringing his comforter back up as well. "Whitty, how long have you been standing there?"
"Mmh... Most of the night."
"Wh-MOST-"
Boyfriend threw his hands up in exasperation. "Did you SLEEP??" In response to his question, Whitty shook his head. "I told you I don't really need to." Boyfriend grimaced in his direction, making a small sound of discomfort to himself, then sighed heavily. "I just wanted to make sure you were okay. I thought you were having a nightmare." Whitty admitted softly. Boyfriend's cheeks began to heat up as he spoke. "It sounded like you were calling my name.. Was I.. doing something bad to you?" Whitty seemed hesitant to ask, gently pulling on the large shirt he was given.
"No no no! You didn't do anything bad! I uh.. It was uh.." Boyfriend bit his knuckle. Well he certainly couldn't say what was actually happening, but he was such a bad liar. "It was a recap of our day out.. yesterday!" He blurted out. Whitty blinked. He did something bad yesterday. Bee says it wasn't directed towards him, but he was still weary of him thinking about it. "How about you go wait in the living room? I'll make us some breakfast, yeah?" Boyfriend offered, and Whitty nodded, turning around to leave the room, of course, obliviously leaving the door open. Boyfriend let out a gentle sigh and got up to close it, then deal with his issue. Shouldn't take too long..
___________________________________________
Whitty sat down on the couch, nervously fiddling with his fingers as he stared at the blank tv. He couldn't have left a bad impression right? Of course not, if he didn't like him, he certainly wouldn't invite him over, and cuddle with him. Cuddling.. was nice. It would be nice to do that right now. He decided to figure out the tv, picking up the remote and mashing a random button. He pressed damn there  every button on the device before actually getting to the power button, and he couldn't help but jump when he heard the tv turn on.
He wasn't sure if he was ready to meet Dearest's daughter today. At least it was only her, and from what he knew, she knew nothing about him other than when they first met. Does she even know she's meeting the same guy? She looked pretty scared of him. Whitty squirmed in discomfort at the thought. What if she knew about him and her dad? What if she didn't like him? What if she rats him out? His head swirled with worst case scenarios, and he couldn't help but stress about it. Boyfriend exited his room about five minutes later. Whitty could hear the bare feet slap against the wooden hallway floor. "Whitty? Whitty, what's wrong?" The blue haired male rushed to the couch. Whitty hadn't realized he had started crying, clutching his head in his hands like he felt a pain too great to bare.
Boyfriend hopped onto the furniture beside him, gently hugging his head against his chest. "I'm sorry, did I upset you? I promise you didn't do anything bad." He mumbled softly. Whitty shook his head. "I'm just.. nervous." Boyfriend parted a bit, looking down at the bomb with a slightly confused expression. "Nervous? About what?"
"Meeting her."
Boyfriend understood. She did talk about how scary and dangerous he seemed. He didn't exactly specify that it was Whitty he was talking to. There is a chance she could freak out when she sees him. Maybe Boyfriend hadn't thought this all the way through..
"How about we eat breakfast? It's hard to think on an empty stomach." He hugged onto Whitty again, gently rubbing his back. Whitty quickly began to relax. No one had ever done this with him before, and it was really affective. He really liked it. "Can we do that thing first? The cuddle?" Whitty asked softly, and Boyfriend grinned. "Of course we can, Whits." He got down, then climbed into Whitty's lap, but he faced him this time, wiping away his tears, just like he did under the tree. Whitty couldn't help but smile a little, wrapping his arms around Boyfriend in a slightly tighter squeeze than the first time. He felt warm..
___________________________________________
Boyfriend had decided to make waffles, oatmeal, grits, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, anything he could honestly find in his kitchen to make a big enough meal for someone who eats so much so fast. He himself was contempt with eating two waffles and some eggs, while Whitty, of course, ate everything else. "Dude, where does it all go?" Bee then asked, receiving a simple "hm?" from Whitty across from him. "Like.. You eat so much, but it's like it literally melts right off of you." Whitty shrugged. "It kinda does.. I digest food faster than normal humans." He explained softly. He picked up his dirty dishes and put them in the sink, with instruction, and did the same with Boyfriend's dishware. "Aww you don't have to clean up after us every time." Boyfriend laughed, sitting up and stretching before standing out of his seat. "I like to. I like to think it shows.. my appreciation for you feeding me." Whitty responded in a soft tone. Of course he didn't really know how to DO dishes, just put them in the sink. Boyfriend would deal with that pile later.
"Come on, let's get ready to go. I have a whole day planned for us." Boyfriend bounced on his toes before rushing back to his room to change. Whitty sighed softly. He didn't know how to use the dryer..
Boyfriend was quick to throw on his usual baggy jeans, white shirt, and his cap. He could barely contain his excitement, he was running back and forth in the hall, of course grabbing his mic and pocketing it for good measure. Whitty had crouched down in front of the dryer, staring intensely at it. "My clothes are trapped." He whined softly. Boyfriend came out from behind him, and couldn't help but laugh. "This is the handle to pull it open." He pulled it, and Whitty let out a sound of relief. His clothes were free!!
___________________________________________
"I'm gonna miss this carpet."
"We're gonna come back dummy."
Whitty blinked. He hadn't thought of returning to his house, he thought he was only letting him stay one night..
Boyfriend was sneaky in managing to get him to stay. He secretly applauded himself. He then smiled up at Whitty, gently grabbing his hand. "Let's get going!"
He decided to take Whitty to all his favorite spots. There was a burger joint he and Pico occasionally hung out at, and Whitty was totally down to eat again, so they went.
"Yeah, all the good stuff happens at night, so that's when we go see Gigi." Boyfriend explained with his mouth full, and Whitty nodded to show he was listening. "Oh crap, I forgot! I'm battling her mom tonight! I don't really know where though, they were gonna come pick me up." Boyfriend put a hand on his head and threw it back in distress. "Does this mean I won't meet.. Gigi?" Whitty questioned him. Boyfriend shook his head. "I guess we'll just have to wait until after. Her mom is sneaky as hell, who knows where she is at any time." He shuddered. That lady genuinely scares him.
Next up was the mall.
Whitty was hesitant to go into such a crowded area, but Boyfriend led him through the door in the back way. There were way less people coming through there, so he wouldn't have to worry about being spotted. As they entered, though, Whitty got this weird feeling.. Like they were being watched. He looked around the clothing section they were in. It was quiet back there too, save for the gentle music playing from the speakers in the ceiling. "Ooh! We should shop clothes for you!" Boyfriend then suggested. "But.. I won't be able to carry them with me everywhere.." Whitty objected, holding his hands up nervously. "You won't carry them everywhere. They'll be at my place." Boyfriend pointed his thumb at his own chest proudly.
He really did trick him into moving in, didn't he?
"The only money I get is from the collabs I've been doing so far, so until I get rich and famous, you can get one more outfit and a pair of shoes." Whitty hummed uncomfortably. Now he was taking more money from him, great. "Hey, I'm offering. Now go pick out what you like." Boyfriend smacked Whitty's leg at the knee cap gently, and Whitty quickly held  it, puffing his cheeks. "Fineeee, I'll go pick out something.." He huffed reluctantly, but proceeded to look at some shirts and pants and such.
___________________________________________
The two walked out of the mall with one bag, and Boyfriend was holding a box, which had his new shoes in it. "Thanks.. for getting me new clothes. I'm sorry to spend your money." Whitty mumbled shamefully, and Boyfriend huffed at him. "I told you, I don't mind. I want you to be comfortable since it's obvious you've never relaxed a day in your life." Bee grunted in response, nudging his leg as they walked. Whitty laughed nervously, looking behind them. He swore up and down he felt like someone was following them..
"Where to next?" Boyfriend thought out loud, mostly to himself. It was already one in the afternoon, they only had about three hours left until they were coming to pick him up. They decided to go back to the house. Whitty felt uncomfortable being out in the open for so long. "You're sure you didn't tell anyone you were talking to me?" The bomb asked, taking his shoes off inside the house. "Yes, Whitty. I haven't mentioned your name to anyone. If anything I addressed you as 'the guy I battled last week' to Pico. Why?" Whitty shook his head, stepping onto the carpet, then relaxing all over again. It was just so soft-
"Whitty?" Boyfriend turned to look at him. Whitty sighed under his breath, then sat up. "I.. felt like someone was following us. All day. It just feels ironic that I'm supposedly meeting someone-a friend of yours-today." He muttered. Boyfriend stared at him for a moment. "You don't think.. You're not thinking I set you up, are you?" He asked hesitantly, putting a hand to his own chest. Whitty didn't answer right away. He curled up into a ball in his spot, the possibilities beginning to race through his mind all over again. Suddenly he didn't feel as safe as he wanted to. Suddenly he couldn't trust Boyfriend as much as he wanted to. Bee could see him breaking down into an anxious wreck, staring intently at one spot on the floor.
He was a little hurt, yes, but this guy had so many people out for him, it wasn't even funny. He couldn't be mad at him for being cautious. That's why he's still alive today. "Whitty.." Boyfriend approached him, and his heart broke when he saw how Whitty coiled away a bit. He didn't stop though. He crouched down, putting a hand on his head. Whitty slowly looked up at him, his black, inky tears trailing down his cheeks once again today. "When I told you I would be there for you, I meant it." He told him. "I wouldn't throw you in the gutter. Remember that? I would never set up my friend. If you don't feel safe going outside, you can stay in here, okay?" Boyfriend gently leaned forward, placing a kiss on his forehead.
Whitty had no idea what that was, but he liked how it felt. It was like his worries melted away with the feeling. Like he was.. safe. He took a breath, then nodded at Boyfriend's words. "Wait.. do that again?" Whitty's eyes held a less somber expression, and he gently held onto Boyfriend's head. This caused him to blush heavily. Whitty could feel his face heating in his hands. "W-What? A-A kiss?" Boyfriend was a little surprised as Whitty nodded. He tried to calm his heart beat. He could feel it beating out of his chest, so hard he would have thought he was having a heart attack. He leaned down and gave Whitty another peck on the forehead, and the taller couldn't help but close his eyes at the warmth it gave him.
"Thank you, BB." Whitty responded softly, letting his face go, then standing back up. "Y-Y-Yeah! N-No p-problem!" Boyfriend's hands were shaking, and he was laughing awkwardly. His face was so red, and Whitty remembered what that meant. He smiled, then picked Boyfriend up, a high pitched "beep!" coming from him. "Whitty!!" He exclaimed nervously, hiding his face in his hands. Whitty tilted his head. That must be an even more positive reaction! He sat down on the couch, still holding Bee in his arms. He was determined they would cuddle until Girlfriend came to get him.
___________________________________________
Boyfriend jolted awake to Whitty staring down at him. Again. He yelped out, but quickly exhaled, putting a hand on his own chest. "You don't wanna be late for your battle." Whitty noted softly. He was still holding Boyfriend. No wonder he fell asleep so fast. He sat up, and Whitty allowed him to, setting him on the floor in front of the couch. Boyfriend stretched his arms up, groaning at the good stretch. "Thanks Whits.." He mumbled softly, his face quickly beginning to redden again just by looking at him. "I'll protect the house while you're gone, don't worry." Whitty told him, and Bee laughed. "I'm sure you will." He made his way over to the door, slipping his shoes back on. "You sure you'll be okay?" He turned around, and watched as Whitty curled up on the couch. He nodded in response, turning the tv on. Bee smiled, then made his way out.
Whitty really wanted to see Boyfriend's little rap battle, to of course be emotional support, but he couldn't be seen. It sucked. He felt lonely all over again, sitting in the living room, sitting on a small couch in front of a tv playing something he wasn't interested in, and he had no knowledge of how to change the channel. He hugged his knees to his chest, puffing one of his cheeks in thought. Boyfriend seemed to genuinely care for him. He.. really did care for him.. Hopefully his friends are similar to that. Even if they weren't, Boyfriend was enough for him. He was all he needed..
___________________________________________
Whitty looked away from the cats on the screen about an hour later to the sound of the front door opening. His insides fluttered, like.. weirdly. He put a hand on his chest as the door opened, and Boyfriend walked in, talking to someone and laughing. He turned to look at Whitty, then winked. "Gigi, here's the guy I wanted you to meet!" Girlfriend walked past him, and looked directly into Whitty's eyes. They stared at each other for a moment, and Whitty began to sweat nervously. "H.. Hi-"
"I'm very sorry!"
Whitty's eyes widened, and his cheeks began to glow orange. "I also participated in pushing you to that point, and I wanted to apologise for doing that." She took her shoes off, making her way into the living room. Whitty and Boyfriend let out a breath of relief, the latter quickly following after her. "I-It's okay.. really.. it happens.." Whitty stammered awkwardly, shrinking against the couch as she smiled up at him.
"I'm Girlfriend, but just call me Gigi. I hope we can get to know each other better. And don't worry, I'll keep you a secret from my parents." Whitty's eyes brightened as she spoke those words. She seemed kind already. "See!! I told you it would go well!" Boyfriend hugged Girlfriend from behind, making her giggle. "Yeah.." Whitty mumbled to himself.
Maybe it won't be that bad making friends..

its a mental breakdown: it used to be the only thing I was allowed to eat at the orphanage because they could get a 4 pound bag and feed me for two weeks. I got used to eating rice a lot and I usually will just add things to rice.
Hagakure: Shinsou, that's like half a cup of rice a day.
its a mental breakdown: I never said they fed me correctly. thus why I had a job to make money for extra food. the nuns hated that, though, so I had to hide it or make it at a friend's house. thanks for those days, Bakugo.
mother i crave violence: No problem, Toshi.
10:25 PM
Area 51
Uraraka: We're missing shit.
Uraraka has changed their name to Fuck Gravity
Fuck Gravity has changed Asui to wut
Fuck Gravity has changed Iida to Human Porche
Fuck Gravity has changed Midoriya to mistakes were made
Fuck Gravity has changed Todoroki to daddy issues
Fuck Gravity has changed Aoyama to bonjour je suis Dora
Fuck Gravity: Much better.
Tokoyami: DADDY ISSUES OH MY GOD
daddy issues: I wasn't aware we were having a therapy session. I can talk about my daddy issues if you want.
Tokoyami: No, Shoto.
daddy issues: I mean, it's not a secret that I have daddy issues. Just look at him. Of course I have issues, he made me.
Hagakure: Hold on, I'm wheezing.
daddy issues: Like I do when I look at his face knowing there's a possibility of me growing into its image.
daddy issues: No wonder Touya was constantly depressed to look so similar to him. I'd be depressed too.
Ojiro: Send help, I can't breathe.
daddy issues: It's no wonder Natsuo is so proud to look like our mother but as a guy. And Fuyumi is basically mom's twin but with a different quirk and some red in her hair.
daddy issues: Lucky motherfuckers.
bonjour je suis Dora: Mon dieu, Shoto, stop, everyone's dying.
daddy issues: ...
Fuck Gravity: Don't!
daddy issues: Like I wish my father would.
daddy issues has set "that's a lot of damage" audio to play
Fuck Gravity: Shoto, please, we're suffering.
daddy issues: Okay, okay. I'll stop tormenting you all like I wish I could my father.
aggressive chicken dance: Savage.
11:00 AM
Area 51
daddy issues: I'm coming home with the groceries. I put our stuff in separate bags. Shinsou, you'll have to come to 1-A dorms because I don't know where your room is.
mother i crave violence: just give mine to Toshi for now. I can't move yet.
Hagakure: Alright, I've been wondering why it is you said you were crying for like an hour now. Why are you crying, Bakugou?
mother i crave violence: I'm having my period. It's bad, I can't move.
Hagakure: I have midol!
aggressive chicken dance: time to spoil Baku.
wut: I'll bring heating pads.
Fuck Gravity: I'll grab his food. Do you want any of it made before I go up?
mother i crave violence: I was just gonna destroy the chips, coffee pudding, and yoghurt.
Fuck Gravity: I'm making you eat. It'll be good for you.
daddy issues: I bought a bunch of extra ready made bentos because they were on sale for you girls' Girl Day. Take him two or three up and make sure he eats.
Yaoyorozu: We're moving Girl Day to Bakugou's room, if that's alright with everyone.
mother i crave violence: Why do I feel appreciated? Make it stop.
Yaoyorozu: Because we appreciate you, Bakugou.
mother i crave violence: I don't like this.
Yaoyorozu: So you don't want us in your room?
mother i crave violence: I guess it's fine.
Hagakure: Alright, Girl Day in Bakugou's room!
neko neko kneecaps: Alright, Todoroki, bring the stuff up to Baku's room.
daddy issues: I know, I'm on the way. I was waiting for Hitoshi.
its a mental breakdown: thank you, Sho.
daddy issues: You'll have to show me to your dorm one of these days.
its a mental breakdown: oh. it's floor five room four on the boys side in the 1-C dorms.
daddy issues: You say this like I won't now make a bridge to walk from my room to yours.
its a mental breakdown: I know this and I love you.
daddy issues: Good, someone has to.
its a mental breakdown: No airing therapy sessions in the group chat, Sho.
daddy issues: Damn.
daddy issues: Anyway. I'm thinking of playing musical rooms with Aizawa and freezing the empty girls rooms on floor two. Any oppositions?
Tokoyami: My only opposition is not today. I'm working on a time sensitive commission and I don't want to see a month of work go down the drain if the ice creeps over.
daddy issues: Tokoyami, the real MVP, running his business as a profit hobby so UA can't stop him.
Fuck Gravity: What a king.
Tokoyami: Thank you both.
Tokoyami: I'm going back to Hime's fourth dress.
Tokoyami is now offline
Hagakure: Alright.
Hagakure has changed their name to oreosandpussy
oreosandpussy has changed Ojiro's name to ceouolo
oreosandpussy has changed Koda's name to the muffin man?
oreosandpussy has changed Shoji's name to pIaNoMaN
oreosandpussy has changed Tokoyami's name to brb drowning
oreosandpussy has changed Yaoyorozu's name to single braincell
ceouolo: I'm not shocked, just disappointed.
oreosandpussy: That's normal, Mashi.
1:45 PM
Emos Sanctuary
depresso extra shot: Has anyone heard from Haruhi? I haven't been able to find him for like a solid five days and he last messaged someone in here from what I can tell.
*sad kazoo* is now online
*sad kazoo*: Sorry, man, I've been doing some shit for a few days so I can find a way to adopt Toshi.
depresso extra shot: Nobody's heard from you for days!
*sad kazoo*: Well, yeah, I mean, I bought a house, I'm working, I got stuff to do.
depresso extra shot: How the fuck?
*sad kazoo*: I had Hime help me.
1:50 PM
private chat with depresso extra shot and *sad kazoo*
depresso extra shot: How the fuck did Himiko help you?
*sad kazoo*: Himiko hooked me up with one of her friends who can change appearances. The girl made me look how I would if the accident never happened.
depresso extra shot: So you're never coming back to the League.
*sad kazoo*: No. I'm not, I can't. I have a son, man. I need to be there for him.
depresso extra shot: I'll still be your friend, right?
*sad kazoo*: Of course. And you can always have Himi's friend make you look different too. You can get away from this life too, Tomura.
depresso extra shot: I can't just disappear, Dabi.
*sad kazoo*: Why not? I've already found a way to disappear without questions. I could take you into it.
depresso extra shot: Tell me why I should? I have All For One's legacy to uphold!
*sad kazoo*: Who are you even carrying his legacy anyway? Because he saved you? You don't have to risk your life for his legacy because he saved you once. Following his legacy will kill you. I should know, I was held to a legacy too and look where it got me. I'm a murderer, a wanted criminal. This path isn't one you'll survive. He groomed a child and forced his own destiny onto you.
depresso extra shot: I'll think about it.
*sad kazoo*: You could really be Izuku's brother then.
depresso extra shot: You say that like I don't have a quirk that would kill this family like I did my last one. How am I supposed to explain to Izuku that I killed our father? My mother and sister?
*sad kazoo*: Himiko knows someone who can change your quirk. I was going to see him right before I stage my disappearing act. He was going to make my fire red again and give me some ice control so I won't turn into a burnt chicken nugget again.
depresso extra shot: So he could make my quirk something else?
*sad kazoo*: He can make your quirk into whatever you want.
depresso extra shot: I've always wanted to have a healing quirk like my sister did.
*sad kazoo*: And he can do that.
depresso extra shot: I think I'd like that.
*sad kazoo*: So you wanna make the League a family instead? We can all move into my house. We can be normal. We can have lives.
depresso extra shot: I could probably talk everyone into it.
*sad kazoo* So it's a plan then.
depresso extra shot: We'd have to tell the others.
*sad kazoo*: Himi's already onboard. So are Magne and Twice. I haven't raised the question to Compress or Spinner yet.
depresso extra shot: So we just need to talk to Atsuhiro and Iguchi.
*sad kazoo*: Yeah.
depresso extra shot: Iguchi is a lost cause. He's a devout Stain follower. He won't ever agree to it. Compress we might be able to convince. He's said how his great-grandfather is a famous criminal. He might have it though his thick skull that he needs to bring honor to his family name by reforming the hero society.
*sad kazoo*: So we've decided to kill off the League.
depresso extra shot: For our second chance at life.
