persistence is key
That creepy smile grows on his face. "You like me," he says like itâs a fact. âWhat the- what?â You share a glance with Mr. Crawling. âYou slow in head?â
â§â á”á” đ â
Ëâź yeah idk, lowkey some enemies to (potential) lovers, i have no idea how to characterise mr scarletella, but i tried my best and then i kinda got a little too invested in trying to spin the fic the way i wanted and wrote a little more than usual... sorry if ur disappointed, i tried to keep the whole courting/jealous thing subtle but still kinda there >w<
warnings. canon typical violence >w<
Youâre not sure when you met the man in red, but you know heâs stalking you now. And itâs getting seriously old. Unlike the ghosts and monsters youâve had the pleasure of meeting, this one doesnât know how to take a hint.
Your first unofficial encounter with him is something that sent shivers down your spine, tucked away under Mr. Crawlingâs arm and clutching onto his kimono for dear life. The second encounter was much worse- separated from your other worldly protector and left running down an almost comically long and creepy hallway where he just magically appears in front of you.Â
You donât even think twice before you smash the crowbar into his form with all your strength, but it was futile the way he flickered? in front of your own eyes and left a weird moist residue on your weapon. You scowled, and rudely pointed a finger at him- âWhat the hellâs your problem, dude?â
In response, he leaned in close- so close that your nose nearly touched his. The tilt of his scarlet umbrella cast a dark shadow over you, and as he peered down, one black eye appeared from behind his hair, locking onto you with a soul-piercing stare. You felt stripped bare under that gaze, vulnerable and exposed, like he was seeing straight into your core, uncovering forgotten memories, pieces of yourself even you couldnât remember. He smiledâa slow, unsettling curl of his lips that chilled you to your bonesâand said something you didnât understand. It sounded like a question, maybe, though you couldnât be sure. You didnât care. You spat out a few choice words and swung again, hard.
At least for a while, he left you alone.
Has it been days, weeks, or even months since youâve got here? It was difficult to keep track, and it was difficult to even care anymore. The place was, without a doubt, growing on you by the day. Even if it was filled with hostile creatures that wanted to eat you sometimes, and when your skin started to get discoloured and you had the inhuman itch that just could never be satisfied- it wasnât that bad! Hell, you even made a few friends and claimed a comfortable bed in some random room you found.
However, just as you finally started settling into the place, you had your third encounter with Mr. Scarletella.
It started with a dream- from before you came to this world. That man in red⊠A test of courage, your friends called it- spending a night in those so-called âGhost Apartments.â Your friends hadnât known it then, but you were quite familiar with the building for reasons, and set yourself up in a cosy corner and the night was supposed to sail smoothly.
A rumour had surfaced- a tale of a ruin that appears only on rainy days, where youâre warned never to give your name to the figure youâll meet there. That figure, they said, would take your soul. At the end of a dim hallway, standing silently under a scarlet umbrella, he was waiting. The man in red, eyes hidden beneath his hair. He was watching you. Or was he? Somehow you could feel his stare even if you couldnât see it.Â
You woke up, heart pounding, muttering a string of curses. You groan, rubbing a hand down your face. The discoloration of your skin hadnât gotten any worse, but it hadnât gotten better, either. The longer you stayed here, the more the place left its mark. As long as you remained relatively human, and the only thing this place took from you was your memory, you werenât too fussed. How could you possibly miss something from the other world when all you could remember was smashing a crowbar into someoneâs head?
You swing your legs over the bed, feet touching the cold ground. The chill sent a jolt up your spine, and it was almost too tempting to get back under the cosy, warm sheets. You stretch your arms above your head, bones cracking and popping into place and mumble a hazy âGood morningâ to Mr. Crawling that should have been in the other bed. Silence wasnât something you were used to around him- and you whip around so fast that you gave yourself whiplash.
Cursing, you grab your crowbar and stumble out of the room with a hand rubbing your tender neck. You didnât need to look far- you could see Mr. Crawling at the end of the hallway.
And Mr. Scarletella.Â
The man in red was bent over to be face to face with Mr. Crawling, all-too-familiar sinister smirk on his face. Mr. Crawling didnât look so happy either, and they seemed to be having an argument. You stomp your feet as you make your way over to the two, hand tightening on your crowbar as you ready yourself to fight literal static if it meant leaving your best friend in here alone.
âYou,â you scowl, pointing your weapon at him. âYou problem?â
Mr. Crawling scurries to your side, a hand gripping onto your clothes. âDangerous⊠should get away!â he urges, tugging.Â
You shush him with a pat on his head with your free hand and continue to glare at that menace.Â
âYou like them?â is the only thing Mr. Scarletella asks with a tilt of his head, smile seemingly disappearing into thin air.
Glancing at Mr. Crawling, his face covered in worry- you feel the familiar itch of your skin. You take a breath, going through all the reasons why you canât actually kill Mr. Scarletella, and loosen the grip on your crowbar. From what you can sense right now, heâs not actually that much of a threat. Just a nuisance that canât seem to leave you alone.Â
âThem friend,â you reply, deadpan. What type of question was that anyway? This guy was a freak.Â
That creepy smile grows on his face. "You like me," he says like itâs a fact.
âWhat the- what?â You share a glance with Mr. Crawling. You turn back to Mr. Scarletella. âYou slow in head?â
The smile on Mr. Scarletellaâs face falters just for a moment, but it quickly returns, more chilling than before. He stands there, towering above you. Despite your snarky comment, he doesnât look offended- no, itâs almost as if heâs intrigued by your resistance.
You tighten your hold on the crowbar. âYou problem.â You frown. âGo away.â
Instead, his grin deepens, his head tilting at such an unnatural angle that you can feel your stomach churn. Itâs as though heâs studying you, savouring every little bit of your discomfort. Surely, turning your head at that angle is gonna hurt⊠You audibly gulp.
âProblem later,â Mr. Scarletella says, and with an unsettling flicker, heâs gone.Â
The next time you saw him after that was in less tense circumstances. It was unsettling after whatever that was with his coy little âProblem laterâ, you werenât going to worry too much about it for the time being. You decided youâll worry about it when the problem occurs, which probably wasnât the smartest of ideas you had.Â
The earth shakes, and youâre completely cut off from Mr. Crawling. Wandering down hallways, resting in random rooms- you never really felt alone. You turn a corner, dizziness growing by the minute, and pause.
âYou again,â you sigh. You donât even bother lifting your crowbar at him. âWhat do you want?â
He appears directly in front of you, causing you to stumble back a few steps at just how tall he is. He bends down to your eye level, umbrella covering both of you once again. âGive name?â he asks.Â
âNo. Go away.â
âGive name. Teach.â
âGo away!â
âTeach name.â
âFine! My nameâs⊠you pause. You didnât actually have to give him your real name, did you? â...Silvair, or something.â
He gets closer to your face. You take another few steps back, but not before you get the smell of blood and dampness off of him. It takes all the willpower in your body to not scrunch your face up.Â
âWrong name.â
âSo what? Itâs a name.â You scoff. Mr. Scarletella is silent, eerily so, and you can feel his piercing gaze stare through you once more. You awkwardly avoid eye contact, and clear your throat. âIâm⊠gonna go now, okay?â You turn on your feet and only make it a few steps.
âYou teach them name?â
Them? Mr. Crawling? That guy doesnât even understand the concept of his own name! The scowl feels as if itâs permanently etched onto your face. You whip around, pointing another disapproving finger into his red raincoat. It feels fuzzy⊠and wet. It grosses you out, almost. More than Mr. Gapâs greasy hair.
âNo,â you hiss. âI donât even remember my own name.â He stares, silently. âMe,â you point to yourself, ânot know name.â
â...Not know name?â he echoes. What you said has him lost, you could see that.Â
Just like that, heâs gone again. You donât see him for a few more days, nor do you find Mr. Crawling. You spend your time aimlessly wandering, knowing eventually youâll most likely find someone you know in a friendly manner, and not pondering if every ghost you come across is a friend or a foe.Â
You awake promptly to a sound of a chainsaw revving. As if it was a morning routine, you stumble to your feet, grasping for your crowbar that should have, without a doubt, been next to you⊠only to grasp at air. Okay, now you are starting to feel a little panic.
Through trial and error, you knew that whatever wound you receive will heal, with time- but it doesnât mean you were looking forward to being maimed to shreds with a chainsaw!Â
âHehe.â
You froze, heart racing, and slowly turn around. There that wretched little being was- the stupid little fucker in the goat costume. The âHooded Childâ, the thing was termed. In itâs stupid little fucking hands, it held you handy-dandy crowbar thatâs been with you thick and thin. Your stomach churns.Â
You gulp and face back towards the open doorway- a long black abyss, stretching on and on, with only the haunting bounce of that chainsaw, crawling along the walls. That chainsaw that was about to mince you in a matter of seconds. That chainsaw that was approaching you rapidly.
Frantically, you grab the nearest thing you could reach for. A metal chair. You wince. Probably not the best thing you couldâve grabbed, but itâll have to do. Itâs a matter of- well, technically life or life, but still! You could feel the sweat on your palms, the adrenaline pumping through your veins and your heart hammering through your ribcage.Â
You lift the chair above your head as the monster comes into view- a tall, masked being in a strapless floor length black dress⊠wait, why was she dressed so sexy? Your surprise leads you to hesitate as she rushes at you with her machine. You let out a yelp as you whack the chair down in front of you, metal clanging echoing throughout the room.
Complete silence. Not even the sound of that chainsaw. Not even the sound of metal. Â
âHuh?â You blink, once, twice, thrice at the sliced up body of that creature, blood splatter on your clothes. There was blood even on the ceiling, too⊠You drop the chair in utter confusion. âWhat the hell?â
âHelp you.â
âYou again!â You spin on your feet, meeting the dull eyes of Mr. Scarletella. Youâre about to huff and puff this guy into next week, but pause. You leave your accusing finger down by your side. This guy just saved you from that thing. You avert your eyes and scuff your feet against the ground with a cough into your fist. âUhm⊠Thank you.â
Wow, this guy really has an intense stare⊠Way to make things unnecessarily intense and awkward.Â
âProtect you,â he says. âYou like me?â
âTake me out to dinner first, man!â you exclaim, crossing your arms over your chest. âNot like. You not bad. Not good. You okay.â
Mr. Scarletella dons an out of place frown that even makes you feel a little uneasy. âThem protect you. You like them.â
âThem friend,â you stress, finally meeting his gaze once more. You kind of regret it. This guy doesnât blink. âYouâŠâ Weird? Off-putting? Freaky? â...unsafe.â
âMe safe. Protect you. Help you.âÂ
You sigh. âUnsafe to friend.â
He just stands there, holding that stupid umbrella, with that unblinking stare. You blink at him and squint your eyes. His facial expression doesnât change. Completely unfazed. You canât even tell if heâs confused, or upset, or whatever he could possibly be. Your breath hitches as his unsettlingly familiar smile returns.
He tilts his head. âMe good. Me show you.â
Then heâs gone again. You can finally breathe. Your heart is still pumping. You slide against the wall, landing on the ground and resting your head against your knees. You clutch at your raincoat with shaking fists.Â
Mr. Scarletella - you knew he was meant to be dangerous, but he just saved you a whole lot of pain. Even if he was still a threat to Mr. Crawling, and hounds you for your name, asks you weird questions, could he honestly be as bad as you originally thought he was? You canât deny that he did save you⊠but his presence is more dangerous than comforting. Heâs both a threat and an aid, but never clear on which heâll be at any given moment. One thing is for certain, however, and that was that he was persistent for your attention. WaitâŠÂ
Oh my good God, does he like you?
âHehâŠâ Chuckling, you tuck your hair behind your ear. âI am pretty cute.â
You stand, and decide itâs better to think about while on the move back to Mr. Crawling. You reach for your crowbar, and curse. Of course. The Hooded Child took it with them when they disappeared when Mr. Stalkerella showed up. Well, you sigh as you drag the chair behind you as you exit the room, at least you have a temporary weapon, for nowâŠ
Making it back to Mr. Crawling didnât take that much longer. He greets you, frown on his face and long arms wrapping around your waist. âMe worried! You gone long time!â Â
âLong time,â you agree, bending down to his level. You ruffle his hair, a smile finally sliding onto your face. It quickly turns into a pout as you wave your empty hands. âLost attack tool.âÂ
Mr. Crawling points to the spilled blood on your raincoat with a high pitched noise. You sheepishly giggle, and gesture to the chair behind you. He tilts his head, processing, before letting out his all familiar laugh. You sigh in content, glad to see a friendly face and let him pet you for a while.Â
He stops petting you, and turns around. âAttack tool!â he smiles wide, your trusty weapon in his grey hands. âThem give me.â
âThem?â you repeat, taking the crowbar, twisting and turning it in your grasp. âThem who?â
âThem!âÂ
Curse this damn language.Â
âMr. Crawling,â you hold his face in your hands, âwhat look like?â
His smile falters, and if you could see his eyebrows, youâd imagine they would be furrowed. He takes a moment to think, and points to the blood on your raincoat, and attempts to imitate holding anâŠ
Umbrella.
You stare. And stare. And stare. You canât even begin to process what Mr. Crawling just said to you, debating maybe you actually were growing crazy and it was finally time to bounce out of this place- andddd of course, you notice a red flicker at the end of the hallway. You tilt your head past Mr. Crawling.
That scarlet umbrella tilts slightly, and just for a split second, you catch a glimmer of that piercing dark eye staring straight at you, as if watching every nerve fire under your skin. You can see his smile from here, as if it was a smug âI told you soâ but it was actually a âMe show you.âÂ
Well⊠Mr. Scarletella did show you. And now you were just left, to put it simply, utterly fucking confused. It just drilled the narrative down deeper of the possibility that he did like you. So⊠what do you do now? Do you apologise for trying to smash his head in with a crowbar? For being so rude?Â
How do you even apologise for something you donât even remotely feel sorry for in the first place? Mr. Scarletella was creepy! âŠAt least, he was kind of sweet. Not really- his intentions were anything but kind. But still!
You bite the inside of your cheek. âŠIs it wrong to feel a little flattered? Thereâs barely any romance in this place anyway!
In your world, things are either friend or foe, monster or protector. But Mr. Scarletella? He exists in some in-between place. Dangerous yet helpful. Itâs as if heâs deliberately defying every category you try to force him into. And now, the memory of his unsettling question repeats in your mind- âYou like me?â - echoing in your thoughts with a kind of twisted innocence that gnaws at you, a bit more with each repetition.
Mr. Crawling gives a soft, anxious chirp, tugging you slightly, drawing you out of your thoughts. Heâs still eyeing the red figure warily. He points. âThem⊠dangerous? Them good?âÂ
âNot know,â you mumble, defeated. âGood, maybe.â You stand to your feet, crowbar falling off of your lap and clanging onto the floor. âMe, them, talk. You stay.â
Mr. Crawling makes a noise of protest, hand reaching out to grasp at your clothes. You reassuringly ruffle his hair once more, and make your way to the end of the hallway. You donât hear him follow behind you.
Face to face, you stand in front of the smiling Mr. Scarletella. He stares down at you, unblinking, unmoving.Â
âCanât give name,â you remind him.
He leans his face down, ever so close. âMe like you.â A pause. âWant you.â Another pause. âYou like me. Give me many human. Give me many blood.âÂ
Well⊠In your defence, you didnât know your corpse dumping ground was Mr. Scarletellaâs domain.Â
âGetting in over your own headâŠâ you grumble, and lift up your hand. You pinch your fingers together. âLittle like you. Okay? LITTLE.â You wonder if this guyâs smile could get any bigger, geez⊠âYou want big like?â You point your index towards him. âBe normal. Be good. Understand?â
âNormal? âGood?â He seems to chew over the words like theyâre a foreign delicacy, his head tilting at that unnatural angle again. âFor⊠you?â
âYou good,â you waggle your finger at him, âI teach name. Maybe. If I can remember itâŠâ
Thereâs an unnatural, prolonged silence in the air. Youâre beginning to feel the awkward tension once more, but your resolve refuses you to break the unblinking eye contact you keep with him.Â
And finally, he speaks once more, agreeing to your proposition, âYou teach good, you teach name.â
You hold back your groan- whatever this dance you two were playing, was going to take a long time to progress.
But at least something is better than nothing, right?

Whatever she needs đ
smut ahead ... minors do not read!!!
âHola mi Amoresâ Jennis voice sounded a little darker through the screen of the tablet that was set up against the bedside lamp in the bedroom
âHola Hermosoâ Alexia smirked you cuddled into her side her arm holding you safely your face on her chest your eyes half closed
âWhy so hostile Putellas?â your girlfriend asked mirroring Alexias smirk
âPulling your shorts up so everyone sees your thighs...â your blonde girlfriend grumbled light hearted
âMy girlfriends are far away... I thought I give them something to look atâ Jenni shot back just as teasingly
âHm... all them fans thirsting over your legs..â the blonde hummed pulling you more into her side
âDon't worry Ale... they can thirst all they like... it's your head that these thighs are wrapped aroundâ the dark haired chuckled
âYou better remember that the next time you flirt with these fans after a game... the internet sees everything Hermosoâ Alexia grumbled adjusting her hold on you once again while you followed the interaction between your girlfriends half awake
âI'm yours and you know thatâ Jenni smiled softly before she redirected her attention to you âWhy so quiet Cari? Not often you don't say anythingâ
âHm...â you hummed into Alexias chest avoiding your eyes even more
âCari?â your dark haired girlfriend now got a little concerned sitting up in her bed her eyes fixed on your delicate frame
Since you didn't really reacted Jenni raised her eyebrow studying your face as good as she could
âAle?â the Madrista asked the blonde fishing for answers
âOur Cariño is a little sad today...â the blonde hummed calmly before she pressed a soft kiss to your hairline
âSad... why are you sad Cari? Did one of these soulless Barcelonans said something to you?â Jenni now looked directly at you getting a little snort out of you before you pressed your nose further into Alexias collarbone hiding your face a little
âÂżdisculpe? Soulless barcalonean?? Who are you talking about?â Alexia exclaimed
âBatlle... Guijarro.... worst one... Collâ the dark haired one waved off â... but seriously Cari... what is bothering you?â
âWhen are you coming home?â you mumbled into the blondes chest hoping Jenni didn't understood what you said since you already felt stupid
âOh mi Cariño... mi amor... mi vidaâ Jenni sighed her voice soft â... two weeks... I have three more games and the second the final whistle blows I'm on my way to the airport... promesaâ
âNo... you won the League.. you have to celebrateâ you mumbled knowing when Jenni starts celebrating it can go on for days
âI don't care about the League....â your girlfriend kept her voice soft feeling how hard the separation is on you
âBut you should celebrateâ you said again this time with more insistence
âOh I will Cari... don't worry... I will celebrate...â Jenni grinned wolfish
âFunny you'd say that...â now Alexia piped up
âYou already planning something?â the dark haired perked up immediately
âHm.....â the blonde teased â... not really... but our Cari had a question earlier and I said we â you and I â will provide her with an answer togetherâ
âOh?â Jenni looked at you confused but curious
âHm... go on Cari...â Alexia nudged you slightly â... you asked me so you can ask Jenni as wellâ
âNuh â uhâ you shake your head slightly before hiding further in the crook of Alexias neck
âCariño...â Jenni now prodded a little bit
âIt's embarrassingâ you mumbled
âIt's not....â the blonde who held you rolled her eyes for good measure
âYou know you can ask me everything Cariño...â the dark haired one said gently knowing sometimes you needed the extra caring other times you needed a more... dominant approach
âAle...â you whined hoping your girlfriend would help you out
âOh no... you wanted to know... you are going to ask Jenniâ the blonde snorted
âBut...â you kept whining
âCari...â Jenni now chose the other approach her voice much more dominant which made you shrunk even deeper against Alexia
âNoâ you mumbled against the blondes neck
âCariño... if you want an answer you have to ask the question firstâ the dark haired spaniard raised her eyebrow at you and you knew you were walking a delicate line
âHowdoesanalfeel?â you mumbled shutting your eyes embarrassed
âÂżdisculpe?â Jenni asked confused
âShe wants to know what it feels like to have anal sexâ Alexia blurted out getting tired of your actions
âHow should I know?â the dark haired asked looking at Alexia confused while you groaned quietly âYou can answer that... I'm not the one on my hands and kn....â
âJenniferâ the blonde snapped making you smile against her skin â... she asked for different reason you Idiotaâ
âHuh?â Jenni tilted her head before she realized what was happening â... oh... OH... I mean... yesâ
âFinallyâ Alexia rolled her eyes before she started to smirk â... since I'm here and you are not... you can either watch or we could make a nice little clip of it...â
âI swear Alexia...â the dark haired growled â... if you dare to touch our Cariño without my permission you know you'll regret it....â
âYou really want to punish her because YOU are in Mexico??â the blonde teased letting her fingertips stroke slowly over your rips
âShe's a good girl... she'll wait... you on the other handâ Jenni warned her blonde girlfriend
âWhat if we wait with the new stuff until you're here but she's been so good and...â Alexia said softly hearing your little needy whine
âI'll know Putellas... if you touch her ass I'll know... and I will make you suffer for it..â the lanky woman growled but saw how much you enjoyed Alexias simple touch
âYeah yeah....â the blonde rolled her eyes but looked at her girlfriend questioning
âGo on... it's been a while since I saw both of you comeâ Jenni flicked her hand in a âgo onâ-motion
âWha do you want to see?â Alexia looked at her girlfriend gently prying you a little away from her neck
âWhatever she needsâ the lanky spaniard said seriously while she watched how Alexia gently pushed you on your back
âYou hear that Cariño?â the blonde started to press soft open mouthed kisses against you neck âJenni is very nice to you... you'll be good for her sĂ?â
âMhm...â you sighed closing your eyes enjoying the gentle touches your girlfriend provided
âThen be good and look at her... let her seeâ Alexia whispered in your ear her voice darker than usual
âJenniâ you whined as you opened your eyes again turning your head which resulted in two things
First â you saw how comfortable Jenni got against her headboard a slight smirk on her lips as she watched how Alexia pushed your shirt up and your pants down
Second â with you turning your head you showed your neck to Alexia who growled lowly before she licked her lips her eyes fixed on the soft skin
âSssshhh Cari... Alexia will take care of youâ your dark haired girlfriend shushed you gently smirking a little bit âWon't you Ale?â
âSĂ... whatever you need Cariñoâ Alexia murmured still transfixed on your neck
âNeed youâ you whined needy trying to look at the blonde who immediately grabbed your chin turning your head back to look at Jenni
âLook at her.. not meâ the blonde growled making you whimper
âShe's not mad Cari... she's just in love with your neck... we know that already.. marking you every chance she gets â even after gamesâ Jenni chuckled watching the interaction amused âGo on Ale... mark her as long as you can because you know when I'm coming home there won't be any of itâ
That was the confirmation Alexia needed quickly leaning down biting into your neck harshly to point where you thought she drew blood. You whimpered closing your eyes after a few seconds of pain trying to get the blonde to ease up a little bit just to be met with a warning growl. Jenni on the other hand chuckled loudly seeing how easily she still can dictate the situation even from nearly 6.000 miles away.
âAleâ you said your voice low but Jenni could hear the pain
âAlexiaâ the dark haired one immediately jumped in with a warning knowing sometimes her counterpart could get lost in the sensation
âHm?â the blonde looked up with a mix of annoyance and confusion
âSlowlyâ Jenni said seriously nodding toward you
âLo siento BebĂ©â Alexia looked down at you apologetic bending down pressing a soft kiss to her mark
âStop wasting time Alexiaâ the lanky spaniard warned
âYou said slowlyâ the blonde shot back her attention quickly divided from you to her back to you
âSlowly yes... time wasting no...â Jenni bit out
âHm...â Alexia hummed now starting to pull your shirt over your head leaving your chest bare the cool air in your bedroom letting your nipple harden immediately
âFinallyâ your made out Jennis voice through the screen making you open your eyes again seeing how she got even more comfortable
Alexia didn't let you dwell on the sight too much pressing a soft kiss in the valley in between your breasts before she kissed her way over to your perky nipple starting to gently suck on it her tongue applying little pressure to the nub making you moan quietly. Both of them knew even if you mostly let them use you however they please sometimes you just needed the gentle soft intimacy. Even more so when your mind was overwhelmed and you missed Jenni who always was a big support in your life. You came into their relationship when you basically were at your lowest both of them being big parts of your healing and getting back to yourself. Which made it even harder when Jenni took the offer from Mexico. Yes it provided you with another destination for when you needed to get away from the busy schedule Barcelona and the Nationalteam put on your shoulders but it still hurt every time you have to say goodbye to Jenni at the Airport. And every time a little more. Alexia was great yes she looked after you when she noticed you spiralling making sure you eat and rest enough. But Jenni made the House homey â filled it with laughter warmth and homemade lemonade.
âCari....â Alexia pulled you back into reality with a soft voice â... are you with me?â
âHm.. yeah sureâ you mumbled
âYou want this sĂ?â the blonde checked sitting back on her heels
âI... justâ you said getting a little uneasy
âSsssshhhh Bebita...â Alexias big hands now stroked over your stomach trying to ground you as she quickly glanced at the screen seeing that Jenni sat up more forward her face showing concern
âJenniâ you whined again as you grabbed one of Alexias hand intertwining your fingers
âI know Cari... I know...â Jenni said softly â... I miss both of you too... but Ales there to help you out a little bit okay... let her take care of youâ
You couldn't really word your feeling so you went back to whining making Jenni smile with a little pity
âAle.... clear her mind of all them haunting thoughtsâ the black haired spaniard nodded towards you making Alexia grin devilish
âMy way then....â the blonde smirks pulling your pants down the rest of the way not letting go of your hand â... keep looking at Jenni Cari... be good for me and her and keep your eyes on Jenniâ
âAle...â you whimpered but you knew not to disobey her
âThe only sounds I want this mouth to leave in near future are moans...â Alexia said strictly her free hand working getting your boy shorts out of the way
The second she achieved her goal her hand cupped your pussy the heel of her hand applying pressure to your clit making you moan out arching your back a little bit tightening your hold on her hand that held yours
âExactly like thisâ the blonde praised you smiling â.... she's basically dripping Jenni... tell me Cari... is it for me or for Jenni?â
âYouâ you moaned out knowing it would only play into your favour feeding Alexias ego a little bit
âHm... good answer BebĂ©â Alexia hummed replacing her hand by sliding her knee in between your thighs now her thigh pressing against your cunt
âShe's just saying that because I'm not thereâ Jenni snorted but she slowly leaned back against her headboard
âYou can't feel how wet she is Jenniâ the blonde murmured against your skin as she kissed her way back up to your breasts â... only for meâ
âKeep telling yourself that...â the lanky one snorted again â... you know she needs to be told what to doâ
âWhat do you want Cari....â Alexia kissed your collarbone
âWanna comeâ you moaned as you grinded down on Alexias thigh making her smirk against your skin
âYou will Cariño.... I promise...â the blonde whispered â... but you know Jenni decides that...â
âJenni pleaseâ you whimpered looking at her with puppy eyes
âNo holding back Cari...â Jennis eye found yours and you could see how dark they got â... let Alexia make you feel goodâ
The second the dark haired was done talking Alexia captured your mouth in a hot passionate kiss pressing her thigh harder against your core making you moan into the kiss. Jenni hummed appreciative loving to watch the two of you. She knew Alexia was more than capable to take care of your needs what didn't stop her to give in her two cents once in a while
âStop teasingâ your dark haired girlfriend scolded Alexia lightly
She watched how Alexias free hand started to wander first stop was your breasts where she massaged the soft flesh her thumb flicking over the hard nipple making you whine into her mouth. The blonde pulled away from the kiss to get her attention back to your neck â Jenni always joked that if Alexia wouldn't be a professional footballer she'd be a vampire. At the moment you didn't care since you started to feel Alexia everywhere. Her large hand on your breast, her hot breath on your neck, her muscular thigh against your core, her other hand still holding your own. The blonde noticed the slight change in your body quickly glancing at Jenni smirking victorious causing the older one to playfully roll her eyes.
âCome on Cari...â Alexia murmurs against your skin â... I know you want toâ
She pressed her knee more into the mattress intensify the pressure on your clit with her thigh making you moan out a whimper. Alexia rocked against your core once more to give you a little push to finally start getting yourself off on her leg. The blonde hummed pleased when she felt you rock carefully against her so you took it as a sign that that's what she wanted you to do. So you continued to rock against her upper leg getting into a rhythm while Alexia nuzzled against your neck letting you use her strong thigh to your liking.
âThat's it BebĂ©...â you made out Jennis voice faintly to caught up in your action â... I knew you could be good for Ale and Iâ
That simple praise got a moan out of you your movement faltering for a second until Alexia got your attention back on track by slightly twisting your hard nipple. You immediately rocked back against her your breath coming out in panted breath while the blonde on top of you just did the bare minimum letting you take what you needed. She knew you would word it if you needed her to do more or even take over. Right now just the intimacy of the situation was enough for you as you feel the familiar and not unwelcomed warm feeling slowly starting to build. Your rhythm increased while you started to hold Alexias hand even more tightly silently telling her you were close and she started to press soft encouraging kisses against your neck
âAre you close Cari?â Alexia mumbled into your skin you confirming it by whining and nodding your head
âCome Cariñoâ you heard Jennis demanding voice and you did just that with Alexia pressing her leg firmer against your core making you arch of the bed moaning loudly
âJoder... I'll never get tired of that imageâ Jenni huffed as you sank back into the mattress and you could hear your blonde girlfriend whispering soft praises in your ear her body now complete covering your own
Jenni would never admit it out loud but being separated from you two was so hard for her. Not just because of the absolutely amazing out-of-this-world sex but also the simple daily things like going for groceries or just laying on the couch having a movie playing in the background with you complaining that you didn't understood a word because it was in spanish and you didn't speak it. Truth was you understood it quiet well and Alexia caught you more than once speaking spanish with Marta or Ona. So both of your girlfriends knew you just liked to complain about something and they just played into it changing the movie to english most of the times so you'll settle down in between them. So yes â seeing Alexia making you come when she was so far away not able to touch you was even more hard.
âYou feeling better Cari?â Alexia asked you gently already knowing the answer before you could even shake your head
âWords BebĂ©â your dark haired girlfriend said seriously
âNoâ you panted out and the goddess on top of you smirked knowingly
âNo?â Alexia smirked teasingly âWhat do you need Cari?â
âNeed moreâ you breathed out trying to get a reaction out of your girlfriend by pressing your nose into the soft skin at the crook of her neck
âMore? Are you sure you realize what you asking for Cariño?â the blonde raised her eyebrow at you but you just nodded
âShe wants more Jenni....â Alexia looked straight at the other woman â... what do you say?â
âWhatever she needs Ale...â the older one shrugged her shoulders â... she asked for it â take what's yoursâ
âHm... what to do with you Cari?â the blonde mused loudly â... should I just use my fingers? Or my tongue? Or should I get the strap?â
The images that flooded your mind made you moan instantly getting a chuckle out of your blonde girlfriend
âAll of it? Sounds like you're in for quite an entertaining night Hermosoâ Alexia chuckled darkly
âThen get going....â Jenni rolled her eyes knowing Alexia teased her on purpose â... you don't get any younger eitherâ
That comment made the blonde bark out a laugh childishly sticking her tongue out towards the dark haired one before redirecting her attention back on you
âLets show her who the better stamina has Cariñoâ Alexia smirked her hand already on the path downwards with the destination in between your legs
Alexia normally wasn't one for slow rather on the rough side of intimacy but she saw you were balancing on the edge of overwhelming so she held herself back gently working one of her long digits into your pussy. The moment you felt her finger entering you you moaned deeply letting her work her finger in and out of you until she felt you loosening up a little carefully pushing a second finger in. You gasped at the stretch no stranger to Alexias long fingers but after still being a little sensitive from your first orgasm it was a tight fit â literally. The blonde didn't see the point to even let you get used to her continuing to fuck you slow and deep. She hit all the right spots inside you making you moan and groan and when she hit that one spot you actually squeaked a little bit. Hearing your high squeak Alexia faltered for a moment before smirking
âThat spot Bebita?â the blonde teased pressing her fingertips into the same soft spot again getting the same reaction out of you
She knew if she would continue like this she'd have you come in mere minutes but she wasn't in the mood for a quick orgasm. You already had one so this time she'll make you wait. The blonde started to fuck you harder and a little faster occasionally hitting that spot that made you melt but every time she felt you tighten around her fingers she went back to slow down and not so deep. You were on the verge of tears after the fourth time Alexia slowed down again your breath laboured when you started to beg
âPlease Ale...â you begged desperately â... por favor Alexiaâ
âQuĂ© necesitas Cariâ the blonde teased you only her fingertips just at the entrance to your wet core
âPlease Alexia... I can't...â you moaned out as she teased the inside of your lips â... I can't anymore... pleaseâ
âI know you can Cari...â Alexia smirked loving the way you were giving yourself to her
âNo pucâ you nearly slurred your words desperately
âCatalan... that's new... I really like it...â the blonde pressed a soft kiss to your lips â.... no t'atreveixes a venir sense el meu permĂsâ
âAlexia... this is about herâ Jenni now interrupted seeing how you came close to your breaking point â... not about youâ
âI'm doing this for herâ Alexia growled at Jenni â... I know she can hold out a little longer Jenni... I can FEEL itâ
Jenni stared at Alexia for a second then nodded her permission for the blonde to continue
âYou hold out until I allow you to come Cariño...â the blonde now growled into your ear â... if not you'll feel very sorry once Jenni comes home â I'll make sure of itâ
With that she went back to push her fingers deep into your pussy making you moan loudly. Alexia kept her slow but deep thrusts half her hand covered in your juices by now but she knew she can make you come hard enough so you'd be exhausted enough to fall into a peaceful slumber afterwards without her pulling out all the stops which normally resulted in you not being able to properly walk the next day and you still had training to attend. When she felt you tighten around her fingers again she smirked knowing this time you would come with or without her permission and since this really was about you she made it easier on your mind
âShe's so tight Jenni...â the blonde looked straight at your other girlfriend who still sat comfortable against the headboard in her own bedroom watching the two of you â... even if I tried I wouldn't be able to fuck her the way I wanted... she's too tight for hard and fastâ
âYeah? Talk to me Ale...â the dark haired spaniard played into the little game Alexia started
âBarely fit two fingers...â Alexia grunted using her upper legs to hold your legs open when you tried to close them trying to trap the blondes hand â... you see how she tries to trap my Hand... you know what that meansâ
âLet her come Ale... she's been good for youâ Jenni smiled seeing how you tried to wriggle away from Alexias frame simply to get a break
âIn a minuteâ the blonde said just moving with you so you wouldn't have the chance to withdraw from her â... no Cari... don't try to get away... you know you want... you know I ALWAYS get what I want out of youâ
You felt Alexia pull you against her and pulled you up so you were sitting on her thighs her two fingers still buried deep inside you. She freed her hand from your iron like grip to get her arm around your back holding you up guiding you to ride her fingers. With the new angle it was even harder for you to hold back your orgasm and Alexia didn't help you by sucking a nipple into her mouth using her teeth to bite down carefully
âAle...â you tried to push her a little away from you but as usual it was no use
âCome Cari...â the catalan growled against your breast as she pulled you down and pushed her fingers up roughly
You didn't really remember anything after her demand. Both women knew how to play your body like an instrument but this time Alexia provided you exactly with what you needed. You didn't remember screaming out her name. The way your body arched against hers. The strong grip that the blonde held you against her. How you slumped against her. When she oh so carefully withdraw her fingers from your dripping cunt. Next thing you remembered was how she gently laid you back down on the bed whispering sweet nothings trying to help you calm that ragged breathing of yours. You whined as she gently let go of you and left the bed for Jenni jumping in telling you how good you did praising you for letting Alexia take care of you. You whined even louder when you realized that the typical warmth of her body and the smell of her skin was missing.
âI know Cari...â Jenni said softly â... just two more weeks... and then you'll get everything you ask for... I promise mi amorâ
Alexia came back with a towel starting to clean you up as much as she thought you needed. She didn't see the point in dragging you into the shower now as you both have to shower in the morning anyway. The blonde disposed the towel carelessly on the floor crawling back into bed pulling you against her your face immediately finding the crook of her neck. You felt so light and carefree that you relaxed against your girlfriend the second both of you got comfortable
âShe already out?â the Madrista chuckled seeing how your breathing evening out slowly
âNot quite... but nearlyâ Alexia whispered pressing a soft kiss to your forehead â... she really misses you Jenni... we both doâ
âI miss you too...â Jenni sighed â... two more years okay... I found my love for football again and I'm not ready to retire right now...â
âI understand all your reasoning Jenni... I do... WE do...â the blonde said seriously â... but maybe... something closer to us... closer to home...â
âI would die in the english weather...â the older one tried to lighten the mood â... France... been there done that...â
âThey say Germany suppose to be beautiful in summerâ Alexia teased back â... or Italy... Norway maybe?â
âSweden... or Denmark...â Jenni thought out loud
âJenni... lets be serious for a second... what about home?â the blonde turned serious again
âI can't come play in Spain Ale.. you know why? You would personally kill me if I go and play for Madrid... Barcelona made clear they don't want me back... and where else should I go? Levante? Eibar?â the dark haired one turned serious as well
âWell with you... maybe Madrid would get a goal at El Classico for once... Misa is thereâ Alexia said running out of ideas while you started to snore softly against her skin
âHow does y/n always says... it's not Misas fault â everyone makes mistakes... what do you think she'll do when I start playing in white?â Jenni snorted
âWe need you closer to us Jenni... it's killing her... it's killing me...â the blonde said her voice breaking a little
âI promise I'll look for a solutionâ the older one said softly âI promise Alexiaâ
âOkay...â the catalan nodded
âNovember transfers are soon... so maybe there's a chance there...â Jenni smiled encouraging â... how are you feeling... need me to talk you through it?â
âNo... I can wait...â Alexia smiled knowing exactly what her girlfriend was talking about â... also our Cari would get so mad if she doesn't get to watch or help....â
âYou seriously denying me giving you an orgasm because the smallest one would get madâ the dark haired one lifted her eyebrow in disbelieve
âYOU don't have to deal with her in the morning... she's grumpy anyway â if she notice we had fun without her she'll break someones legs...â the blonde said adjusting her hold on you feeling a little bit of drool on her collarbone â... and most likely mineâ
Jenni barked out a laugh before saying goodnight to Alexia promising her to call the next day after she had a talk with her agent about potential clubs
âTĂ© amo mi reinaâ Jenni smiled softly
âYou know I hate it when you call me thatâ Alexia smiled even tho she could feel the tears in her eyes
âWhy do you think I keep calling you thatâ the older one winked â.... TĂ© amo Aleâ
âJo tambĂ© Tâestimoâ the blonde whispered back âho femâ

"I'm going back to my parents with the kids until New Year," Mary said with a resigned sigh, their toddler in her back while the 5 years old Ava gripping her hand
"Are you for real? Babe, the fuck? Why are you so dramatic?" Wes said mid-workout, both of his hands still gripping the dumbbells as if the pump should never stop, even when his marriage is in the brink
"Dramatic? You voted against my body! Against my rights! Against Ava's future! Why do you have to be so selfish?"
"Well, it's not like if I vote differently, the election suddenly went the other direction. Like.....seriously, calm down. You don't see the other wives walk away from their home,"
"This will be the last thing I said to you as your wife so you better listen to this carefully. Imagine not having a say about your own organ, let alone your own body in its totality. You voted for that. And I wish.......there's some kind...of wa-- way that will make you understand t--t--the feeling of losing autonomy....over your own----
*blackout*
Wes immediately realized that something is totally wrong as he witnessed his own self standing over him, building up sweat like crazy as the impostor finished his set. Then, it hits him, he's wearing his wife's clothing.
"Fuck yeah babe, finally, you're awake! Got the kids back inside and decided to do my workout while waiting for you to wake up. How do you feel?"
Wes is in complete disbelief. What on the Twilight Zone is happening here? The comically dreadful situation then quickly turned into a more tense setting as the impostor lowered his voice
"You said none of the wives are as dramatic as I am, right? Threatening to leave home and all that? Well, let's just say, this is the kind of way out the ladies managed to pull off. You're not the first one,"
Wes cannot hide his shock. Is the impostor really saying the truth? Is that why the men were quieter in the neighborhood group chat the past few days? Everything started to make sense, but still, a bodyswap? What kind of witchcraft is this?
"One last thing though. You probably wondered why then the men just accepted their fate and not running around for help. Well, let's just say that once this thick meat plough your new-found hole, you are going to be practically moldable to my whim. I'm definitely going to make you one hell of an obedient stay-at-home-mom devoted to make her husband and family happy, including aligning yourself to all your husband's belief. You will never vote against my wishes, ever again. But let me lift till failure first before I fuck you silly. Enjoy your last few minutes of freedom, babe,"
I think this is my longest story ever. The pictures really triggered something in my mind. Hope you all can enjoy it

something like love
part - 4
pairing - paige bueckers x azzi fudd
word count - 5.3k
c/w - language, small amount of angst, some hurt/comfort. also kinda problematic paige but i get her
a/n - guess whoâs endo cramps are killing her!! thatâs right, me! fml. as usual this is unedited but iâll come back to edit later! also, i changed paigeâs step-dadâs name from tim to dean because i remembered that azziâs dad is named tim and i felt like that would be confusing lol. also, thank you so much for all the fic recs i got! iâm so excited to start working on them :3
Theyâre ten minutes into the thirty-minute car ride and nobody has said a word. Country music is playing quietly over the radio, and Dean and Amy keep glancing at each other. But the awkward silence is deadly.
Nobody spoke earlier, either. After Paige dropped the bomb. It was silent for a good minute before Dean had coughed loudly and turned back to the car, getting wordlessly into the driverâs seat. Amy stared at them for another minute or so, giving them no clue as to what was going on in her head other than her ears, which rapidly turned bright red. Finally, sheâd shook her head and said, âWe will talk about this when we get home,â before following her husband into the car.
As soon as they were both out of hearing range, Paige had sagged, and Azziâd looked over at her, concerned. Usually, sheâd lay a hand on her arm but she wasnât sure if Paige wanted to be touched, especially by her, so instead sheâd said, âRemember, we can leave anytime.â
Paige had nodded stiffly. And then, without looking at Azzi, sheâd gotten into the car as well, leaving the door open for Azzi to follow suit.
And now theyâre on the road, Paige and Azzi sitting in the back seat like two little kids in trouble. Azzi wants to go on her phone to avoid the awkwardness but her parents raised her to be polite, no matter the circumstances, so here she sits, stiff and awkward while she rides in this car that smells new and fancy and she hates it.
Chancing a glance over, Azzi sees that Paige is still staring out the window, the same thing sheâs been doing the whole car ride, and Azzi hates that, too, because Paige only ever gets quiet when sheâs bone-tired or truly upset. And Paige got a pretty good nap on the plane.
Based off the way she acted to Azziâs words before they got on the road, Azziâs pretty sure sheâs doing that thing where she shuts people out because sheâs mad or on the verge of tears or thinking too hard. And when she does this she can get mean, because sheâs trying to protect herself, and it comes out all wrong.
Sheâs always done this, been reluctant to open up about the hard stuff, shut out the people who care about her. She and Azzi have talked about it a lot. She once admitted that Azzi was the first person to get her to actually talk about her feelings. But despite Azziâs way with Paige, and despite the fact that they just get each other in a way no one else ever has, they still have their flaws. Azzi still doesnât always know the right thing to say. And Paige still gets mean.
This fact keeps Azzi glued to her seat, thinking sidling closer and trying to comfort her best friend would only end badly. Azzi acts like she has a tough skin but often, the things Paige says when she gets like this cut deep, and it ends with both of them hurt. Sheâs scared to add a fight between the two of them onto whatever will surely go on with Paige and her parents later. So she stays put, even though every bone in her body is telling her to make Paige better.
Azzi has only managed this for maybe five minutes when she glances over again and notices that this time, Paigeâs hand is splayed over the middle seat, fingers tapping anxiously, almost like sheâs subconsciously reaching over. And that sight alone is enough to get Azzi sliding over, moving Paigeâs hand so she doesnât sit on it. Dean looks at her through the rearview, but Azzi pretends not to notice.
Paige doesnât look over when Azzi settles in beside her. But she does reach blindly for her hand before taking it and placing it in her own lap, playing with the fingers nervously. Azzi breathes in relief. Paige hasnât rejected her outrightâshe canât be too upset. At least not yet.
They sit like that for the remainder of the ride.
When they pull into the driveway, Paige gives Azziâs hand a squeeze before subtly shaking herself out and exiting the car. Azzi follows, afraid to be alone with Paigeâs parents for even a second.
Before Paige can close the door, Amy calls, âBring your bags into your room, Paige. And when youâre done come down and talk to us in the kitchen.â Thereâs a weighted pause. âAlone.â
Paige doesnât answer, just slams the door shut. Azzi winces.
Azzi doesnât say anything while Paige opens the trunk, or when she starts aggressively pulling their things out, or even when she slams the trunk shut. No, Azzi keeps her mouth shut, wanting to allow her best friend to seethe in peace, but when Paige slams into her shoulder when she passes her, Azzi doesnât want to let it slide. âOw! Paige, what the fuck?â
âGet your bags,â Paige responds gruffly.
Okay, so itâs gonna be one of those times. Perfect.
Despite not wanting to, Azzi does as sheâs told, gathering her bags and following Paige to the front porch. She tries not to think about how usually Paige wouldâve carried her things for her.
Paige opens the door without a word and they walk inside. The house is nice, open, smells of cedarwood. Paige doesnât give Azzi a chance to look around, though, instead walking briskly to the staircase, lugging her shit upstairs with impressive strength, and Azzi thanks God sheâs in such good shape because sheâs practically jogging by the time they arrive at a room at the end of the hall.
âPaigeââ Azzi starts to stay, but Paige cuts her off by throwing her own backpack off her shoulder and dropping her suitcases, as if sheâs trying her hardest to make as much a ruckus as possible.
Azzi places her things much more nicely on her usual side of the bed, eyeing Paige cautiously the entire time. Itâs the only reason sheâs able to catch her before she leaves, anticipating her movements just like she does on the court and darting between her best friend and the door, blocking her.
For the first time in nearly an hour, Paige looks her in the eye, and thereâs fire there. âMove, Azzi.â
âNo.â
âGod,â Paige sighs, âseriously, donât piss me off. Get outta my way.â
âNo, Paige,â Azzi repeats, keeping her feet planted.
Paige stares at her and then shakes her head. âWhy are you being so fuckinâ annoying?â
âDonât,â Azzi says, trying to stop her before she gets too fired up, but itâs already started.
âNo, Azzi, you donât,â Paige snaps. âI knew you were gonna get like this, do your fuckinâ peace and love shit that you think will solve everyoneâs fucking problems.â
Azzi swallows hard. Itâs been years since Paige went on a rampage like this, and she opens her mouth to stop her, but is quickly interrupted.
âIt doesnât solve anything, dawg. It actually makes shit worse, because itâs so motherfucking annoying having you acting like everythingâs fine when you donât even know.â Paige shakes her head, taking a step towards her. âAnd thatâs the thing, is you really donât know but you wanna pretend like you do. You donât know what itâs like to have your mom fuckinâ leave you for some fuckass guy, for her to have new kids outta state and raise them to be hateful just like her. Just like him.â
At this point, Azzi has tears in her eyes, and she attempts desperately to swallow them down. âDid you forget that my dad fucking left me when I was a baby? Iâve never even fucking talked to him, Paige. He doesnât want shit to do with me.â
âThatâs not the same and you know it.â Paige sends her a withering glare, so different from the way she usually looks at Azzi. âYou have Tim. You have your mom and your brothers and they all love you so fucking much.â
âYou have your dad!â Azzi responds, throwing her hands in the air. âYou have Drew, you have Alora!â A tear escapes, against her will, and she wipes it furiously away. âYou have me, Paige,â she says, more quietly now. âI love you so fucking much. So you donât get to take this shit out on me and say mean things to hurt my feelings. Thatâs notâitâs not fair.â
As soon as she sees the tears welling in Azziâs eyes, Paige softens, her shoulders slumping, eyes turning on her with guilt rather than venom. âAz, donât cry.â
For some reason, this makes Azzi more mad, and she turns away to face the door, always having hated crying in front of others. âWell if you say mean shit to me, Iâm gonna cry, Paige,â she mumbles, though thereâs not much fire to her weak, shaky tone.
âHey, no, youâre right,â Paige reaches for Azziâs shoulder, trying to turn her around, but the tears have started now and theyâre not going to stop anytime soon so Azzi stays turned firmly away. âAzzi, Iâm sorry, I didnâtââ Paige cuts herself off on a sigh. Her hand falls off Azziâs shoulder, and for a second Azzi thinks sheâs going to walk away, but then a pair of arms wrap tenderly around her waist and Paigeâs chin is wresting on her shoulder. âIâm sorry, I shouldnât haveâI was wrong for that, I shouldntâve said any of that shit.â When Azzi doesnât respond, instead burying her face in her hands to try and hide what sheâs sure is an ugly cry, Paige squeezes her tighter. âAzzi, please donât cry, Iâm really sorry. Fuck, Iâm sorry, for real. I didnât mean any of it, I was just so scared about my parents and I took it out on you, I fucked up.â
Azzi nods into her hands, taking a deep breath to try and stop the embarrassing flow of emotion. âI know, Paige,â she tries, but it comes out sort of as a whimper and this only makes Paige circle around to stand in front of her, full-on hugging her now, burying her face in her neck and rubbing her back soothingly.
Theyâre silent for another moment before Paige says, âIâm serious, Az. I didnât mean any of it.â
Azzi knows this, fundamentally, but thereâs still a part of her that sort of cracked at hearing her best friend tell her that she was annoying, that her efforts to help always fall flat. âYou shouldnât have said it, then,â she stutters, letting Paige hold her close even as her face doesnât come out of its hiding spot.
âI know, I know, I shouldnât have. Youâre the only person who can ever make me feel better and Iâfuck. Azzi, Iâm sorry, I canât believeâI never wanna hurt you.â Paige lifts her head out of her neck to nuzzle into Azziâs hair, pressing a kiss to the spot just behind her ear. âNever wanna make you cry.â She plants another kiss there, and Azziâs breath hitches. From the crying or from something else, she doesnât know.
Sighing shakily, Azzi finally pulls her head out of her hands to look up at Paige, placing her hands at her chest almost as if sheâs about to push her away. Sheâs sure her mascara is ruined by now but she canât bring herself to care too much. âIt really hurt when you shoved me outside, too.â
A pained expression flits over Paigeâs face, and she nods, looking almost sick. âFuck. IâmâIâm sorry, Azzi. Iâm so sorry. Is your arm okay? Does it still hurt?â
Azzi canât take the guilty look on Paigeâs face and shakes her head no. It doesnât seem to relieve much of anything.
Breathing deeply, Paige closes her eyes and then leans her forehead against Azziâs, bringing her hands up from her waist to stroke over her tear-stained cheeks. âIâm sorry, baby,â she whispers, and Azziâs knows that the nickname wasnât a slip-up this time, wasnât just a habit from their pretending. âIâm really fuckinâ sorry.â
And with that, Azzi isnât mad anymore. Her feelings are still hurt and the things Paige said are still going to replay in her head for quite some time, but at least for now, Azzi just canât be mad. Because Paige is going through something she could never imagine going through.
âIâm sorry, too,â Azzi breathes, and Paige rears back, but before she can protest, Azzi says, âabout your parents. About this wholeâŠsituation.â She looks down at her hands on Paigeâs chest, and, deciding she wonât be needing to push her away anymore, she slides them up to her shoulders. âItâs shitty and youâre right, I donât know what itâs like to be in your position.â She shrugs, swallowing back the last couple tears that threaten to fall, trying to regain at least some of her composure. âIâm going to be here for you, okay? I always am.â
Paige nods. âI know you will.â
âAnd that means,â Azzi goes on, âyou canât do this again. You canât take it out on me. You canât push me away. Because that makes it really fucking hard for me to help you, and I want to help you.â
Paige nods again, more solemnly this time, moving her hands back to circle her waist. âYeah, yeah, I know, and Iâm so sorry forââ
Azzi holds a hand up to Paigeâs lips, effectively shutting her up. âOkay, stop. I accept your apology, I promise. Just, show me youâre sorry and donât do it again, yeah?â
âYeah,â Paige says. âïżœïżœCourse.â
âGood.â Breathing mostly even now, Azzi pulls Paige in for another hug.
With a heavy sigh, Paige hugs her back. âWeâre in it together, hm? From now on, together.â
Azzi rests her cheek on Paigeâs shoulder, the weight of her arms around her, the feeling of her skin and bones, so familiar. âYeah. Together.â
Paige pulls back just enough to look at her, and when Azzi reciprocates, sheâs uneasy to find that Paige is giving her that same new look. The perplexed, maybe enthralled?, almost worried look that has taken over her face more often than can be explained ever since the first time after their kiss. Azzi really wants to work out what it means.
But, as always, Paige corrects herself and itâs gone as fast as it arrived. âWeâre good?â
Azzi nods, smiling softly despite herself. âYeah, P. Weâre good.â
âââââââââââââ
Paige has been downstairs with her parents for nearly an hour.
From what Azzi can hear from her spot at the top of the stairs, it doesnât sound to be going too well. The three of them keep going from yelling to whisper-yelling to yelling again, and Azzi swears Amy has cried like five times at this point.
When Azzi hears Dean say, âWe just donât allow sinners in this house, Paige,â and Paige snap back, âDo not use God against me right now!â Azzi figures it might be time to intervene.
Trying to come up with something quickly, she pulls out her phone and dials Paigeâs number. She hears Paigeâs phone ring downstairs, and the three of them go quiet before Paige says, âJustâone second,â and then thereâs a click on the other line and sheâs answering. âUm, hi?â
âPretend Iâm your dad,â Azzi says, hoping sheâs not on speaker.
âWhat?â
âJust pretend Iâm your dad, Paige. Seriously.â
âUh, okay.â The line gets a little muffled and Paige says, âItâs dad.â Azzi can hear both Amy and Dean let out audible groans downstairs.
âOkay, now tell them that Iâyour dadâam offering to fly you home.â
âIâŠwhaââ Azzi can tell Paige wants to argue but canât with her parents right in front of her, so instead she sighs and the line goes muffled again. âHeâs, um, heâs offering to fly me home.â
Azzi only has a second to hope and pray that Amy shares Paigeâs competitive nature before Amy is saying, âWhat? You told him about this?â
âNo,â Paige answers, âhe just knows how youâre like now. And he wants Azzi and I to have a good summer, not a shitty one with shitty people.â
âIf you want to go back to your dadâs, go,â Dean says, and Azziâs heart sinks. Maybe this wonât work.
But then, bless her evil, horrible soul, Amy is stepping in. âNo. Absolutely not. I will never hear the end of it if we send you to your father after inviting you over. We justâŠâ Amy sighs, and Azzi thinks she can hear her start crying again. âWe want whatâs best for you, Paige.â
Itâs silent for a moment. And then, âLet me be happy, Mom. Let me see my siblings. Let me and my girlfriend have a good trip with yâall.â
Dean interjects. âWe really donât believe in this kind of stuff.â
âI donât care,â Paige replies viciously. âI love Azzi. It doesnât matter that sheâs a fuckinâ girl. IâŠâ Paige pauses, quite abruptly, and Azzi wonders if something happened. But then she hears a heavy inhalation and a quiet, âI love her, Mom.â
Azzi knows itâs for the act, but she canât help the way her stomach somersaults, hearing the words sheâs always wished Paige would say.
âAnd it doesnât matter what you think of it,â Paige continues. âIâm happy. My faith is strong. And what goes on between me and God isnât your fucking business.â
âLanguage,â Amy says immediately. But then itâs silent for another weighted moment and Azzi can imagine Amy and Dean sharing that knowing, judgmental look of theirs. Her heart races while she waits for a consensus, and sheâs sure itâs 100 times worse for Paige. But after a few moments, Amy says, âTell your father that youâre staying here with us. Your siblings will be home tomorrow morning. The four of us adults have a reservation at a restaurant tonight, and weâre all going to go.â
âMomââ
âWe will try,â Amy sighs. âAzziâs a nice girl. We willâweâll try.â Thereâs something tired in her voice when she says, âRight, Dean?â
No answer. But Azzi can imagine him nodding gruffly, and a moment later, with no more words from any of them, Paige appears at the bottom of the stairs. She startles a little when she sees Azzi sitting there at the top.
âHi,â Azzi says sheepishly, finally disconnecting their call. âI was eavesdropping.â
Paige stares at her, and then starts climbing the stairs, a small smile overtaking their face. âThanks for saving me.â
âI told you I would,â Azzi replies, waiting for Paige at the top. âSo. Dinner with your parents tonight.â
âYeah. I guess.â Paige gets to the second-top step and stays there, so sheâs just a little shorter than Azzi.
âDinner as a fake lesbian couple with your homophobic parents,â Azzi clarifies, and Paige laughs nervously.
âUh-huh,â she responds. âI think we needa nap before that.â
âOh, yeah,â Azzi agrees, pulling Paige up to stand with her. âThat is an amazing idea.â
ââââââââââââââ
Azzi is rudely awoken to none other than an old Tyler, The Creator song blasting through the tinny speakers of Paigeâs phone. Azzi groans, and she blindly reaches out for Paige to turn the damn thing off, but her hands only find cold bedsheets. Annoyed, Azzi cracks her eyes open and tries desperately to find Paigeâs phone, realizing in the process that Paigeâs side of the bed is cold. Strange, considering they still have two hours until dinner.
Finally, after probably thirty seconds of this stupid song playing over and over again, Azzi finds the phone tangled up in the bedsheets and slams the off button. Itâs sort of pointless, though, because now sheâs very much awake and will not be going back to bed.
She sits up in Paigeâs bed, rubbing her eyes and looking around the room. The sun is shining through the curtains, reflecting off the mirror above the vanity and showcasing the off-white walls, the pink door to the adjoining bathroomâwhich Azzi now realizes is in use, the sound of the shower muffled through the door. She hadnât noticed before because Paige isnât awfully singing to some Mariah Carey song. Other than the water, itâs dead quiet in there. She must be nervous.
Fiddling with the pink sheets, Azzi feels nervous, too. Usually, merely being in Paigeâs space comforts her, but this roomâit doesnât feel like Paige. It doesnât smell like her, and itâs too pink. Thereâs no purple at all, actually. And the vanityâPaige has never known how to do much else other than mascara. In high school, she needed Azzi to tell her what concealer was for, and to teach her how to curl her lashes. She certainly wouldnât have use for an entire vanity dedicated to makeup. The walls are also decorated with cringy, sort of Bible-thumping quotes and paintings of flowers. Thereâs not a single basketball poster.
No, this room isnât Paige at all and Azzi feels an ache in her heart, thinking about how out-of-place she must have felt whenever she came to visit as a kid. How out-of-place she must feel now.
Without Paige to talk to, and without her room to comfort her, Azzi settles for laying on Paigeâs side of the bed, burying her face in the blankets, and there she isâvanilla, like her hair products, and lavender, like the lotion she wears and the linen spray she uses, because it calms her down.
Azzi thinks she just might fall back asleep, enveloped in Paigeâs scent, but then the door to the bathroom opens and steam billows out just before Paige does, wrapped in a towel, hair wet down her shoulders. Azzi only has a second to ogle the water drops adorning Paigeâs collarbones before sheâs spotted, and Paige gives her a curious look. âYou still sleep? I left my phone here so the alarm would wake you up.â
âYeah, no, it did,â Azzi says, sitting up quickly, before she looks like a weirdo snuggling up in Paigeâs spot. âJust tryinâ to hype myself up for dinner.â
Paige gives her a commiserating look. âMe too. Iâm shitting my pants, for real.â
âThat why you couldnât sleep?â Azzi asks, stretching out her back and swinging her legs over the side of the bed.
Paige hums, bending down to rifle around in her suitcase. âIâon even know what to wear. Apparently itâs some fancy restaurant but Iâm not wearing a fucking dress.â
Azzi laughs at that, lifting her hands when Paige shoots a glare over her shoulder. âIâm serious, dawg! And itâs not like I brought a suit or nothing.â
âI think youâre overthinking it,â Azzi says, standing up. âJust wear jeans and tuck a t-shirt or something. Youâll look cute no matter what.â
Paige straights up and gives her a cocky grin. âYou think all that?â
âChill, P,â Azzi rolls her eyes, shoving Paigeâs shoulder a little.
âWhat were you doing on my side of the bed, anyway?â Paige asks, and Azzi canât help the way she freezes. Sheâd thought Paige hadnât noticed.
Trying to cover her reaction, she shrugs casually. âI didnât know you owned the right side of the bed.â
âNah, weâve always had our sides,â Paige shakes her head, taking a step closer. âWhy was you all cuddled up in mine?â
âOh, I dunno,â Azzi says, trying for sarcastic but she canât even really make eye contact, âmaybe I rolled over or something.â
âPlease. You donât move in your sleep.â
âMaybe I do. You donât know.â
âI think Iâve slept with you more often than Iâve slept alone,â Paige scoffs, taking a step even closer so that theyâre practically chest-to-chest. âI know damn well.â
âOkay, seriously,â Azzi says, taking a small step back and stumbling when her thighs hit the bed, âgo get dressed, you weirdo.â
âMm,â Paige says, pretending to think about it. But before Azzi can move away, she grabs her waist and they both fall onto the bed while Paige starts to tickle her like crazy.
âPaige!â Azzi screams, laughing so hard she almost canât breathe. âGetâoff, oh my God!â
Paige is laughing right along with her, and itâs a miracle her towel hasnât dropped yet. âTell me the truth!â
âWhat theâŠâ Azzi giggles and squeals when Paige goes for her armpit, âfuck!â
âI wonât stop âtill you admit it!â
âOkay, fuck, okay!â Azzi pushes Paige off her, and Paige lets up just enough for her to gasp and say, âIt smelled like you, okay? The sheets, theyâŠâ Paige has stopped completely now, staring at her with a shit-eating grin on her stupid face, âthey smell like you.â
âUh-huh,â Paige replies, âand you missed me so much while I was in the shower that you needed to smell my sheets?â She jabs her one more time in the ribs, making Azzi shriek, before rolling off her. âYou lil creep.â
âIt wasnât like that!â Azzi insists, even though thatâs exactly what it was like. âNow, seriously, go get dressed. You got me all wet.â
What Azzi means by that, of course, is that Paigeâs damp towel and sopping hair had transferred to Azziâs own clothes and hair. But Paige canât be normal about anything, so she looks over and grins slyly.
âDonât,â Azzi sighs.
âOh, no, itâs okay,â Paige says, sitting up in bed and pulling Azzi up with her. âYou donât gotta be embarrassed. I know I make a lotta girls wet.â
âStop being weird,â Azzi says, as Paige bends down once again to pull an outfit from her suitcase.
She begins walking back to the bathroom. âIâm not the one who gets turned on by tickling,â Paige calls over her shoulder. Just before she closes the bathroom door behind her, she says, âDonât worry, we can take care of you after dinner, mama,â and winks at her.
Azziâs shoe hits the door just as it clicks shut.
âââââââââââââ
They drive to the restaurant in silence.
Itâs similar to their car ride from the airport, though it is a little less tense than before. Paige isnât fidgeting too much beside her and her parents arenât giving each other looks the entire time. Thatâs gotta be a good sign.
When they arrive at the restaurant, Amy and Dean start chatting idly, Paige and Azzi trailing behind when they walk inside the fancy building and give the hostess their reservation.
Itâs only when theyâre finally seated that they are addressed.
âSo, girls,â Amy says, her voice all forced cheerfulness, âwhat looks good?â
âI dunno,â Paige mumbles, and Azzi kicks her under the table before saying, âHave you guys ever been here before?â
Amy looks a little startled at Azziâs voice, but she recovers quickly, looking over at Dean with a forced smile. âOh, yeah, we come here sometimes.â
Azzi smiles politely. âWhat do you suggest, then?â
âUm,â Amy says, and then she sort of jerks and Dean winces, and Azziâs sure Amy has also just kicked him under the table.
Apparently well-trained, he speaks immediately. âWe love the spinach ricotta.â
Azzi hums, then nudges Paige. âThat sounds good, right?â
âUhâŠâ Paige looks like she wants to be difficult, but then she sees the warning stare Azzi is giving her and straightens up a little, âyeah, yeah. Sounds good.â
âWanna share?â
Paige sighs, but luckily itâs barely audible. âYeah, sure. Letâs share.â
Azzi leaves herself out of the conversation after that, letting Paige answer her parentsâ conversation starters. When the waitress comes to take their orders, Paige gets a glass of wine for the both of them. Neither of them really like wine, but it seems classy enough and it might take the edge off just enough that they can actually get through the night unscathed.
Itâs not until their dinner arrives that Azzi is addressed again.
âSo, Azzi,â Dean says, out of nowhere, âHowâs the knee?â
Azziâs hand goes subconsciously to her surgery scars. âDoing better. PTâs been going good.â
âGood, good.â He leans back in his seat, and Azzi senses trouble. Something about the way Paige protectively rests her arm across the back of Azziâs seat makes her think she senses it, too.
âYou get injured a lot, huh?â He asks.
Azzi sort of hates the way her face gets hot, hoping it doesnât show up on her brown skin. âIâve torn my ACL twice, yeah.â
âAnd your meniscus, right?â he prods.
Without really noticing it, Azzi looks over to Paige, and thatâs apparently all Paige needs to jump in. âHey, letâs not talk about it.â
âWhy not?â Dean asks, scoffing. Amy is looking between the three of them nervously. âItâs hard not to talk about. Azzi, you donât even play basketball at this point.â
âUm,â Azzi replies, her instincts telling her to get hot-headed but with the way Paige is buzzing beside her, sheâs gonna need to keep her cool.
âWhat the hell?â Paige says, her hand going from the chair to Azziâs shoulder. She looks at Amy. âMom, you said this wouldnât happen.â
âYour father is just asking a few questionsââ
âHeâs not my fucking dad!â Paige exclaims, and Azzi jerks as sheâs pulled into Paigeâs side. âI already have a dad! He raised me, he loves me, Mom, and heâd never say this shit about Azzi.â Angrily, Paige stands up, tossing a few bills onto the counter and helping Azzi to stand beside her.
âSweetheart,â Amy says, reaching limply for her daughter while Dean sits beside her looking far too smug. âPaige, where are you going? Weâre your ride.â
âWeâll Uber,â Paige responds, wrapping an arm around Azziâs waist. âIâm not gonna make her sit through your bullshit because you donât know how to act like a decent fucking human being.â
âHe was just askingâ,â Any starts, sounding exasperated, but Paige cuts her off.
âYou know what he was doing.â She glares at Dean, who shakes his head, smirking. âWeâll go back to the house,â she sneers. âBut if this doesnât change by tomorrow weâre leaving.â
And with that, she takes Azzi hands and leads them both out into the night.
âââââââââââââ
Paige keeps it together until they get to the house.
As soon as theyâre stepping through the door, she turns away from Azzi and leans down to untie her shoes. Azzi does the same, but she doesnât miss the sniffling sounds coming from her best friend.
Paige refuses to look at her when they start heading upstairs, and she tries to make a beeline for the bathroom once they close her bedroom door shut behind them. But Azzi stops her, placing a gentle hand on her arm. âP?â
Another sniffle. And then a quick wipe at her face before sheâs turning around, trying to look nonchalant but her eyes are red and her lip is trembling. âYeah?â
âPaige,â Azzi says softly, and Paige crumbles, hands coming up to her face as she starts crying.
Azzi steps forward to hug her, pulling her down to hide in her chest. âIâm sorry, P. Iâm so sorry, thisâthis sucks.â
âIâm sorry,â Paige replies, voice all small and muffled in a way that makes Azziâs heart hurt. âI thought they were gonna tryâŠI wouldnât have taken you out with them if I knewâŠâ
âHey, itâs all good,â Azzi responds, running a hand through Paigeâs hair. âI didnât mind, really. Iâve heard worse.â
This is apparently the wrong thing to say, because Paige just cries harder. âFuck, Az, you shouldnât have to do this.â She lifts her head up to look at her, and Azzi absently wipes her face. âThis sucks. Itâs the first week of summer and IâI was shitty to you and now my parents, and Iââ
âPaige,â Azzi says sternly. âI wouldnât have agreed to this if I couldnât handle it. I can handle it. Itâs you that Iâm worried about.â
Paige nods, sniffling again. âYou donât gotta worry. Iâm fine.â
âYouâre obviously not fine, P,â Azzi says, and Paige winces, wiping her nose with the sleeve of her shirt.
âIâm okay,â Paige insists. âReally. As long as we do this together, Iâm okay.â
She straightens up like sheâs steeling herself, and Azzi thinks maybe she should do the same.
This is only the first day of their two-week stay.
Itâs going to be a long trip.

Part 2 of my Is It Casual Now? series: Masterlist: Part 1
It had started out as a casual thing. A friends-with-benefits arrangement, nothing more. At least, thatâs what she told herself at first.
But Charles made it difficult to keep things casual. There was an undeniable charm to him, a sweetness she hadn't anticipated. He didnât just text her at night or call her when he was back in Monaco. Instead, he called regularly, sometimes even when he was across the world for a race. Heâd ask about her day, make her laugh with stories about his travels, and always ended with some version of, âI canât wait to come home and see you.â
And then, there were the little things he did that went beyond what sheâd expected. Heâd bring her favorite coffee when they met up, remember small details sheâd mentioned in passing, and leave her cute voice messages when he found something that reminded him of her. Charles was effortlessly thoughtful, as if caring for her was second nature.
One evening, after a tough qualifying session, he called her, his voice a mixture of frustration and exhaustion. âYou would not believe how bad the setup felt today,â he complained. âItâs like the car just⊠refused to cooperate.â
She listened as he vented, offering encouragement and making him laugh with a few lighthearted comments. By the end of the call, he sounded calmer, even managing a smile in his voice. âYou know, youâre good at this. You make me feel better even from thousands of miles away.â
âWell, someone has to keep you sane,â she teased.
âOh, youâre doing much more than that,â he replied warmly. âReally, I wish you could be here. Youâd probably make the whole race go smoother, just by being around.â
âIs that so?â she teased, her heart swelling at the thought. âAnd how exactly would I do that?â
âYour mere presence would calm my nerves,â he insisted, the playful lilt in his voice making her laugh. âYou know how competitive it gets. If I could just look up and see you, Iâd feel so much better.â
âMaybe Iâll have to make an appearance then,â she said lightly, but in her heart, she felt a pang of longing at the thought of being close to him, sharing those moments in person.
As the weeks passed, the calls became a comforting routine. Heâd check in after qualifying sessions, asking her opinion on his performance, or heâd call after a disappointing race, needing to vent. It was during those moments that she began to see how much he truly valued her support.
âDo you have any idea how frustrating it is to come in tenth?â he grumbled one afternoon, his voice low and strained as he paced in his hotel room.
âPretty frustrating, Iâd imagine,â she replied sympathetically. âBut itâs just one race, right? Youâve got more coming up.â
âYeah, but itâs Monaco next! I canât mess that up. Itâs my home! The pressure is insane.â He took a deep breath, and she could almost picture him running a hand through his hair in exasperation. âI need to win this one.â
âThen you need to focus and stop overthinking it. Youâre talented, Charles. Trust your instincts. Youâve got this,â she reassured him, her voice firm.
âYou always know what to say. I canât wait to come home and see you again.â He sounded lighter, a smile evident in his tone. âMaybe you should come see me race sometime.â
She laughed it off, but Charles was relentless. Every few days, heâd bring up the idea of her coming to watch him race. âCome on,â heâd say, âJust one weekend.â
But she kept brushing it off, always with a half-serious excuse. âCharles, I have a job, remember? I canât just fly out to some random country you knowâ
One evening, he finally pulled out his best argument. âMonaco,â he said with a grin she could practically hear over the phone, âthat's literally our backyard. No excuses this time.â
She groaned, pretending to resist. âYouâre insufferable, you know that?â
âBut charmingly so,â he countered, voice teasing but hopeful.
Eventually, she caved. âFine. Iâll come. Just because youâll never let me hear the end of it if I donât.â
His laugh was practically a shout of victory. âYouâre going to love it, I promise. And Iâll make sure you have the best seat in the house.â
When she arrived at the paddock on race day, Charles was waiting for her at the VIP entrance, practically bouncing on his feet. The moment he spotted her, he broke into a grin and quickly made his way over.
âYou came!â He wrapped her in a hug, holding her close like he hadnât seen her in years.
âI told you Iâd be here,â she laughed, squeezing him back. âThough you owe me big time for putting up with all this noise and chaos.â
âOh, donât worry, I intend to make it up to you,â he replied with a smirk, keeping his arm around her as he led her inside. âLet me show you around.â
Charles walked her through the paddock, his hand resting possessively on her lower back as he guided her past the hustle and bustle of team members, mechanics, and engineers. He introduced her to some of the crew, who greeted her with warm smiles, and she couldnât help but feel the pride radiating from Charles as he spoke about the work they put into the car.
âSee that guy?â he said, pointing to a tall man with a headset who was deeply focused on the monitor. âThatâs my race engineer. Heâs the one who helps guide me during the race.â
She nodded, genuinely interested as Charles continued to explain the intricacies of the race preparations. âAnd this,â he said, leading her to the Ferrari garage, âis where all the magic happens.â
As they entered at the Ferrari garage, Charles spotted his brother Arthur nearby. âAh, you have to meet Arthur,â he said, giving her a reassuring smile. âYouâll love him.â
Arthur approached, giving her a friendly grin as he shook her hand. âSo, youâre the âlucky charmâ Charles keeps talking about,â he said, raising an eyebrow at his brother.
âDonât start,â Charles muttered, clearly embarrassed, though he didnât let go of her hand.
âNice to meet you, Arthur,â she replied, feeling her cheeks heat up as she shot Charles a playful look. âI didnât realize I had such a reputation around here.â
âOh, you have no idea,â Arthur chuckled, giving his brother a knowing look. Charles just rolled his eyes and nudged him away, muttering something about âfamily being an embarrassment.â
Before long, Charles was called back for his final preparations, and he turned to her, his expression softening. âYouâll be watching, right?â
âFront row seat,â she promised, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze.
The race itself was a whirlwind of emotions. As the lights went out and the cars roared to life, she felt her heart racing in tandem with the engines. Each lap was a rollercoaster of tension and excitement, and she couldnât tear her eyes away from Charles. He navigated the track with grace and determination, every move calculated, every turn precise.
With each passing lap, the anticipation built, and when he crossed the finish line in first place, she couldnât help but scream with joy. The entire atmosphere erupted in cheers, but for her, it was all about Charles. Heâd done it. Heâd won!
As he climbed out of the car, sweat glistening on his forehead, he scanned the crowd until his eyes locked onto hers. A wide smile broke across his face, and he hurried over, not caring about the cameras or the noise.
âDid you see that? I did it!â he shouted, wrapping her in a tight hug that lifted her off the ground. She could hardly believe it as he peppered her face with kisses, excitement spilling over. âYouâre my good luck charm!â
âI think you had it in you all along!â she laughed, overwhelmed by the joy radiating from him.
âNot without you here,â he insisted, his eyes sparkling with delight. âI couldnât have done it without you. You make everything better.â
She laughed, still wrapped in his arms, as he planted quick, enthusiastic kisses all over her face. âCharles, everyoneâs watching!â
âLet them watch,â he said, not even caring, still grinning as he peppered her face with kisses.
The celebration was in full swing when they stepped into the club, Charles was surrounded by friends, team members, and fans who were all there to revel in his long-awaited Monaco victory. The energy was infectious, and she couldnât help but feel a rush of pride watching him receive endless pats on the back, his grin wide and eyes gleaming under the flashing lights. He never let her stray far from his side, keeping a steady arm around her waist as they moved through the crowd.
"Finally won my home race," he said, leaning close so she could hear him over the music, his voice filled with disbelief and joy. "It still doesnât feel real."
She nudged him lightly, a teasing smile on her lips. "You sure it happened? Youâre not dreaming right now?"
"Guess Iâll find out if I wake up," he said, laughing as he twirled her in place, pulling her back against his chest. "But youâre here, so Iâd say this has to be real."
They both laughed, the shared warmth and excitement washing over them like a wave. He kept her close as they moved through the club, accepting congratulations and raising toasts with anyone who approached. But every few minutes, his hand would slide back to hers, squeezing her fingers or pulling her back to his side. His eyes would find hers, that familiar spark of mischief dancing in his gaze.
Eventually, they found themselves tucked into a quieter corner of the club, away from the crowd. Charles leaned against the wall, tugging her closer until her hands rested on his chest, his grin turning cheeky as he looked down at her.
âSo, youâre not disappearing on me tonight, are you?â he teased, his fingers tracing a lazy line up her arm. âI kind of like having you around.â
âDisappearing?â she laughed. âPlease, Leclerc, itâs like Iâm glued to you tonight. Youâve barely let go of my hand.â
He smirked, his hands slipping down to her waist as he pulled her even closer. "Can you blame me? Best night of my life, and I want you right here."
The sincerity in his voice softened her, but he quickly masked it with a grin, tugging her back onto the dance floor. They spent hours laughing, dancing, and talking between sips of champagne, the atmosphere around them filled with lighthearted banter. Charles was in his element, his joy contagious as he celebrated with everyone around him, but his attention kept circling back to herâsmall glances, soft touches, lingering smiles.
At one point, he leaned in, his lips brushing her ear as he whispered, "Come with me."
Before she could respond, he was guiding her toward a secluded corridor at the back of the club, pressing her gently against the wall. His hands settled on her waist as he looked down at her, his gaze intense and filled with an energy that set her pulse racing. He leaned in, capturing her lips in a kiss that was equal parts heated and sweet, his fingers tracing her sides as he held her close.
When he finally pulled back, he pressed his forehead against hers, his voice a low murmur. "Thank you for being here tonight. Wouldnât have wanted to celebrate with anyone else."
The words made her chest tighten, and before she could respond, he was kissing her again, a soft laugh escaping his lips as they stayed wrapped up in each other, oblivious to the world outside their small bubble.
Later, as the night wound down, they left the club together, Charlesâ hand never leaving hers. Back at his apartment, he pulled her inside, his smile turning playful again. "One more toast, maybe?"
âIsnât that what you said after the last toast?â she teased, following him into the kitchen as he poured them each a final glass of champagne.
âWhat can I say? Itâs a big night,â he said, winking. They clinked glasses, his eyes never leaving hers as they sipped, and when she set her glass down, he was already pulling her close, his lips brushing along her jawline before settling on her lips.
They drifted into his bedroom, Charlesâ touches growing more insistent as he held her close, a mix of laughter and whispered words filling the space between them. He was relentless, the intensity of the night fueling each kiss, each lingering touch as they stayed wrapped up in each other.
Finally, as the early hours of morning crept in, they lay tangled together in his bed, the celebrations fading into a comfortable quiet. Charles lay beside her, his face nestled against her neck as his breathing slowed, a soft smile on his face.
âPerfect night,â he mumbled, his voice heavy with exhaustion.
She smiled, her fingers running through his hair as she whispered, âYeah, it was.â
In the quiet that followed, she felt his breathing even out, his arm around her tightening slightly as he drifted off to sleep, holding her close as if he never planned to let go.

"Pick One Moment"
[Spencer Reid x fem!reader]
Masterlist
Summary: A rough case in Dayton, Ohio brings unexpected emotions to the surface for you, forcing you to confront feelings you'd been hiding for yearsâfeelings for Spencer Reid.
Warnings: Fluff, angst, moment of awkwardness
Word Count: 2.0k words
A/N: just based on the lyric 'And then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like I love you...I love you' from the song Something Stupid by Frank Sinatra because it's been stuck in my head. I've been planning to write Spence for a while but I've been intimidated.
Staying professional in Dayton, Ohio proved to be a challenge.
It had been a rough case, but what case wasn't, right? Just have to wrap this one up and you can go back to your house and dog.
Okay, fine, this wasn't like most cases at all, not to you anyway. This one had hit particularly close to home. And you didn't like that one bit.
This made you more short-tempered than usual, even snapping at a witness. After a lengthy lecture from Hotch, I mean from the look on his face you would think you had insulted him, he had 'benched' you by having you go through old files that might be related to the UnSub.
Hey, at least you got to do it with Spencer.
After working with him for so many years, you grew quite fond of him. Too fond maybe.
You stared at him going through files with a speed that should not have been human. 20,000 words at a minute, and you thought you were a fast reader.
"Got anything yet, Boy Genius?" you asked, flipping the page of your own file.
He looked up at you. God those eyes...
"No. This one isn't even related to it." he dropped the file on the table.
"Didn't you read the entire thing?"
"Yes," he replied, "It was interesting."
"You find everything interesting."
"Not true," he protested.
You rubbed your eyes, sighing. "Sure, Spence."
He tilted his head at you, a look of concern on his face. Adorable.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
You considered lying, you had been doing that the entire time you had arrived in Dayton after all, but decided against it. "Not really."
"Is it about your family? I thought this case might bring up some bad memories."
You couldn't help but smile at how quickly he had gotten it. "Yeah, something like that."
"Can I help?"
"Can you make memories go poof?"
He actually seemed to ponder it. "No. I'm not sure why you would want to."
"You never wish that you could just forget the bad stuff?" You knew what he had been through, you had seen quite a bit of it.
His brows furrowed. "I don't like the idea of forgetting anything. I mean, Mom forgets enough so I remember for her too."
You realized your mistake and winced. "Spence... God, sorry."
"It's okay," he reassured you. "You're remembering a dark time in your life, it can be overwhelming. Also explains you snapping at the witness, with your nerves on edge."
"Yeah?" You grinned. "It was going to be Morgan but the asshole left before I could. So collateral damage."
He laughed. "He's outside if you want to insult him now. I don't want to be collateral damage too."
"You? Never."
"Never?"
"Never," you repeated.
Oh, how you loved his lopsided grins. "Thank you."
"Always." If you could pick one moment to live in forever, it probably would've been that one.
Minus JJ coming through the door right then. "We got something."
You wanted to throw a file at her. Instead, you get up with a heavy sigh. The sooner you get this done the better, you had to remember that.
~~~
The BAU was heading back to Washington tomorrow, so you could leave this far far behind. Finally. This case taking up two weeks of your life was enough.
You sat at a cafe next to the hotel where you were staying. It was a cozy little place with a mostly brown interior and warm lighting. The scent of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries filled the air.
You sipped your drink, feeling the cup's warmth in your hands. You had been coming here for the past few days and you had to admit, you would miss this place.
Just then, the door opened, and in walked someone you recognized, glancing around the room before spotting you. With a smile, Spencer made his way over, pulling out a chair across from you.
"Mind if I join you?" he asked.
You smiled back, gesturing to the seat. "Not at all."
He sat down and looked around. "So this is where you disappear to?"
You hummed in confirmation. "it's a nice place to think."
He stared at you for a while before nodding thoughtfully.
"What?" you sipped your coffee.
"Just... Are you feeling better?"
You shrugged. "Yeah, UnSubs behind bars. What more could I want?"
"Closure," he replied quietly.
You pressed your lips together tightly. "It's fine Spence. I'm alright with it."
"I don't think you are."
"Spencer," you said, a hint of warning in your voice, "You want to help, I get it. But not with this. Okay?"
It was an unspoken thing, the way Spencer always seemed to know when you needed space and when you needed someone to push just a little. He respected your boundaries, but there were momentsâlike this oneâwhen his concern slipped through the cracks.
He sat across from you in that quiet cafe, watching you. You couldnât tell if he was waiting for you to speak or if he was just giving you the time to process, as he always did.
It had been a rough case, yes, but that wasnât why you were still here, staring into your coffee like it held all the answers.
Your eyes flickered up to meet his. He was still staring at you, quietly, as if he could see past your walls.
"Spence," you said, your voice quieter than you intended, "Iâm fine. Really."
He didnât respond immediately. His hand rested on the edge of the table, and you could see him fiddling with his fingers. That subtle nervousness he only ever seemed to show when he wasnât sure what to say, but he knew he needed to say something.
"I don't believe you," he murmured, his voice soft but insistent. âIâve seen you too many times to believe that everythingâs okay, especially when itâs not. Youâve been holding it in, and I know thatâ"
"Spencerâ" you started, but you were too late. He was already talking over you, his voice getting faster.
"Please. I just want to make sure you're alright, okay?" He sighed, his eyes briefly darting away before looking back at you. âI just... I care about you."
Everything felt very... loud. Too loud.
He looked at you expectantly, almost uncertain. Maybe, just maybe, he was waiting for you to make the first move.
You cleared your throat. God, you really hated moments like this, when everything inside you seemed to tremble at the prospect of just being honest.
His hand shifted on the table, and before you could stop it, you had reached out to touch his fingers. It was the smallest of gesturesâbarely noticeableâbut it was enough.
For a long moment, you simply looked at each other, the conversation hanging in the air. There was so much unspoken between you, so much left unsaid. Maybe that was the problem.
Before you could stop yourself, the words spilled out of you, quicker than you could catch them. "I love you."
Spencer's face went completely still, his eyes wide as he processed your confession.
You had not meant to say that. You didnât. It was an accident. You werenât ready. You werenât ready to put that kind of pressure on this, on him, on whatever this was.
But the words had slipped out anyway. You stared at him, feeling the heat rise in your face, hoping the ground would swallow you up.
"Sorry-God, I'm sorry," you quickly got up and rushed out of the cafe.
He just sits there. Frozen.
If you could pick one moment to rewind, it would be this one.
Oh, you fucked up big time.
~~~
You had never been more ready to get home, but unfortunately, there was an hour and thirty minutes on the private plane. With him.
Usually, you would spend an entire flight, after a case well done, talking to Spence. But after yesterday? But not this time. Maybe not ever.
You could feel Spencerâs presence beside you, but he was quiet. So quiet. Not the usual playful banter, no sudden bursts of random trivia or observations. It was almost like he was giving you space... or maybe he was just too uncomfortable to say anything.
Your eyes flickered to him once, twice, each time hoping for some indication of what he was thinking. He was staring out the window, a far-off look in his eyes, his fingers curled loosely around a book in his lap. For a moment, you almost felt the pull to apologize again, but the last thing you wanted to do was make him feel obligated to comfort you. You had put your foot in it already. Now, it was time to ride this out and pray it didn't become permanently awkward.
But Spencer, as always, was unpredictable.
"You donât have to apologize," he said, his voice quiet, but it still carried across the cabin, cutting through the engine's hum.
You stiffened, eyes fixed on your lap. Had you been that obvious?
"I wasnât going to," you said, a little too defensively.
He didnât respond right away. You could feel him looking at you, the weight of his gaze making you want to curl into yourself.
âYou know I care about you, right?â He said it so gently, like he wasnât sure how you were going to take it.
You felt your chest tighten. Care about you. Those words. He was still speaking, still looking at you, but it was hard to focus on his words because everything was spinning around that one sentence.
"I do," you replied. You had to stop yourself from saying moreâthere was more you wanted to say, needed to sayâbut you couldnât. Not yet. Not until you figured out where your head was at, where you both were at.
Spencer shifted in his seat. He didnât look hurt, but there was something in the way he held himself. Maybe he was just holding back, afraid to push too hard, afraid of what that push might break.
You finally took a breath and turned to face him. He was still watching you, his expression a mix of concern and... something else. It was the something else that had you questioning everything.
"You donât have to say anything," you added quickly, "I just...said something stupid. I didnât mean to make things weird."
Spencer didnât break his gaze, but a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Not his usual goofy grin, but something softer. More real. Something... intimate.
"Itâs not weird," he said, his voice still quiet, "Youâre not the only one who gets nervous around here, you know."
You blinked at him, genuinely confused. "What do you mean?"
His smile flickered, a small laugh escaping him before he adjusted his posture and leaned back in his seat. He seemed less tense, more at ease, "Iâm just saying... Iâve had my own share of... feelings. I just didnât know how to... deal with them."
Your breath caught in your throat. Spencer had feelings? For you?
The question hovered between you like an unspoken truth, but it seemed too risky to ask outright. Instead, you glanced down at your hands, the heat rising in your face.
And then, finally, you said something else, the words coming out quieter than you intended: "Do you think... we can just... forget it happened?"
You almost expected him to shrug it off, to offer a playful remark about how awkward it was or how maybe you'd both laugh about it someday. But he didnât do that.
"No," he said softly. "I think maybe... we should talk about it. When weâre ready."
Your heart fluttered. Was this... was this him telling you he was ready? That maybe he wanted to figure it out too? Or was this Spencer, as usual, just giving you a window to process everything at your own pace?
You werenât sure. You werenât sure of anything. But you couldnât deny the weight of his words, the connection that had always been there and that seemed to grow stronger the more time you spent together.
"Iâm not great at talking about feelings," you admitted, looking over at him sheepishly.
Spencer chuckled softly, a breath of amusement. "Yeah, Iâve noticed."
You gave him a sidelong glance, your lips twitching into a reluctant grin. âSmartass.â
"Hey, you started it," he teased, finally breaking the tension just a little. "And Iâll finish it. But not right now. I think... we both need time to think."
You nodded slowly. He was right. You both needed time. The last thing either of you needed was to make rash decisions while emotions were still running high.
"Youâre not mad?" You asked it before you could stop yourself, the doubt creeping in.
"Mad? Why would I be mad?" Spencerâs face was open and sincere.
"I donât know. I just..." You didnât finish your sentence. What was there to say? How could you explain the mess of emotions you were still trying to sort out?
He reached out across the seat, almost as if he was testing the waters, and placed a hand gently on yours. The touch was brief, but it sent a spark of warmth through you.
"Iâm not mad," he said again, more firmly this time. "Not for that."
You were both quiet for the rest of the flight, but the silence between you felt differentâmore like an understanding, like a promise that when the time was right, youâd figure it out together.
It wasn't the one moment you would pick to stay in forever, but it was a moment you didn't mind being in for the rest of the flight.

bkg vers.
⧠cw :: gn!reader, fluff, kiri is nauseatingly cheesy (my baby!!!), he calls you 'baby'
⧠a/n :: i Miss my husband my one and only and that's why I finally completed this
"eijirou."
"baby." his boyish grin has his sharp teeth gleaming at you, his crimson eyes twinkling up at you. he's aware of exactly what you're going to say.
"close your eyes." you deadpan. at least, you attempt a deadpan, but it comes out more playful than you intend it too, coupled with a horribly disguised smile. this has to be the fifth time you've told him to do this, this was no laughing matter.
obviously, kirishima doesn't seem to mind that at all. if anything, he grins wider at you, taking care to wrap his arms around your waist as lazily as the warm afternoon trails on.
"but I wanna look at you." kirishima tilts his head at you a little, clearly enjoying the view of you seated so gracefully on his lap. "you're so, so so pretty."
you smile in spite of yourself; there's something about the warm tone that eijirou sprinkles over every compliment he gives you that renders you weak.
the admiration in the way he looks at you is as permanent as the scar on his eyelid.
"you'll see me again when I tell you to open your eyes, eiji," you attempt to reason with your cheesy boyfriend, and he even makes a show of pretending to ponder your point.
"hmmm, you raise a fair point. my counter: I don't want to look away even for a second." he means every sugary sweet word he's saying; the way he looks at you as though he cannot fathom a better sight tells you so.
"there's a kiss for you on the line here, eiji. several, might i add."
kirishima takes this opportunity to run his hands down your thighs, and back up to your hips. the way he lights up tells you you've got him; that and the way the "deal!" tumbles out of his lips so quickly you could say it was racing.
finally, kirishima's eyelids shut and you start practicing the eyeliner look. although your goofy smile softens, it never leaves your face.
kirishima settles into contentment as he lets you work your magic against his skin, his own grin softening just enough to not obstruct your work; he's already giddy in anticipation of your lips on his.

Oooh yay!! I'm so excited to dive into your thoughts, friend! đđ
I LOVE that you have notes! You spoil me. đ„°
Controlled breathing was necessary. But also, I feel like there were some great layers here. Dean allowing himself to feel good? And not just for one night. Admitting it and actually pursuing more? Yessssss. He deserves that.
*breath in, breathe out* loll
Aww thank you for that observation! Dean's finally acknowledging and breaking down those barriers within himself for "something good." đ
Him sleeping better with her next to him--a classic. Never gets old. <3
Exactly, that's how I feel! đ„č (We both know I'm a sap lol)
This whole paragraph was beautiful. Also, it was a moment where, if someone simply handed it to me with no other context, I would know it was yours. It felt like you.
The way you just gripped my heart tight and gave me the warm fuzzies. đ„čđ„č "It felt like you." What an amazing compliment! Thank you, my friend. đ
Her rings being such an identifier was a great detail that fit so well with the reveal at the end. Smart, smart writing!
Aw I'm glad you liked that! That came over from Maybe More Than Enough. I just like the idea of her having silver rings as a fashion statement, a habit, and a good hunter tidbit all in one. đ
Loved this! Definitely have had something similar in my head while daydreaming. A little sassy, but mostly lovingly concerned. (Again, so very you.)
It's his grouchy little face -- you just wanna smooth out those frowny lines. đđ Aww thank you! Sassy, but mostly lovingly concerned is how I feel like I'd try to be with him. đ
My stomach was doing something different this time. LMAO. The end of the first section--how he still had questions but just decided to trust her and her judgment. Brilliant. And proved that he really is ready for more.
LMAO I do not blame you on that one. đ€Ł
Aw Dean. It's mostly that he trusts her, but I feel like it's also a little bit of him "not wanting to look needy," asking too many questions about where she's been. Even if it's both, it's still a sign that he cares and he wants to be there for her regardless.
And in that first section, I simply could not figure out what she was off doing or what it meant for them. The reveal was as satisfying as the guessing. That might actually be my favorite part of this piece--the fact that I could not figure out where it was going. But also, she spent her early morning baking him a pie? My heart got gooier than its filling! =']
Ahaha honestly I feel accomplished that I managed to stump you at first! I threw in a couple of really tiny hints, but I hoped that the reveal would be surprising and satisfying enough, so I'm very glad you think so! She really did spend half the night and the early morning prepping that damn pie for him! đ
And it just got better from there. He forgot his own birthday? OUCH. His emotion over her gesture? Love, love, love. And their use of touch? So tender and sweet. So, yeah, I was a fan of this one. xD<3
He really did in this one! Like, I feel like the brothers don't make a big deal about birthdays as well as holidays, so with everything they always have going on, HC that Dean forgets his own birthday half the time in the later seasons. I felt like her doing this for him would be a small but significant way of her showing that she's "all in."
Thank you again SO much for your lovely comments and observations!! You totally made my day, Larrs. đđ
It's not his birthday yet IRL, but we're celebrating it a bit early in this story. đ

Dean woke to the sound of pouring rain hitting the roof of the bunker.
It mustâve been some torrential downpour, because it took a lot for him to hear anything of the outside world from inside this place. Good thing the old heaters kept out the January cold, too. Nothing worse than frigid rain.
Blearily he cracked his eyes open, unearthed an arm from where it was tucked under his pillow, and carefully raised his phone to check the time, trying not to let the light from the screen burn his retinas in the still dark room.
4:00 a.m.
He groaned. Goddamn it.
He turned over onto his other side to face where you shouldâve been lying next to him. He frowned when he saw nothing but the sheets pulled back and a dented, empty pillow.
No matter how he fought it down, a small tinge of worry, and the beginnings of disappointment churned in his gut. His brows furrowed.
Did you regret it already?
After his first make out session with you (turned more session) in the backseat of his Baby, you two struck a tentative agreement to figure what this could beâmore than hunting partners, allies, and friends. Despite the fact that you kissed him first (a fact he didnât easily let you forget), afterwards, youâd been a little hesitant about what came next.
âWe take it day by day,â heâd told you, with a sizzling kiss that stole your breath. âAll I know isâŠthis feels good.â
It felt right. You had definitely agreed with that.
Dean sighed through his nose, turning back onto his other side. It wasnât unusual for him to be a light (restless) sleeper, but the handful of times youâd joined him in his bed had been beginning to make his nights calmer. He was actually starting to sleep through until morning.
Whatâs more, after years of looking into your eyes and seeing all the possibilities of what if, he was finally getting to make those images solid, and real. He could touch them, taste them, feel them under his calloused hands. He finally had you for real.
He looked past your empty spot in his bed and didnât see your phone, or any of your rings on the nightstand. They were the first things you put on in the morning, and the last things you took off at night.
If those were goneâŠ
His disappointment was settling high in his chest now; an ache approaching pain.
Until he heard the light sound of bare feet padding back toward the bed. Your hand slid gently up his arm, and after the surprise wore off, the corners of his lips tugged upwards. Your hair was a bit wild and frizzy. It tickled his neck and shoulder when you leaned in to kiss his cheek.
âWhatâs this?â you whispered, swiping two fingers between the crunch in his brows. Dean relaxed with a small smile.
âNothinâ,â he claimed. His voice was deep and rough with sleep. âHad an appointment to get to or something?â
You smiled and settled into bed, embracing him from behind. He turned onto his back and welcomed you over, with an arm curling around your waist. He rested his hand on yours when it smoothed across his chest.
Subtly glancing down, he didnât find any of the silver you wore on the daily, including the ring with a small turquoise stone heâd bought you a couple weeks ago, on a hunt in Denver. That one, you now almost never took off.
âI put them away in a drawer,â you said, wiggling your fingers under his hand. Your hand felt dry, and a little like you'd been handling something dusty. Had you been up reading in the library again, lost track of time? âWhen I woke up, I saw one fell off the nightstand. Have a feeling it had something to do with the bedframe knocking against it.â
At that, Dean couldnât contain his lazy smirk.
âMy bad,â he said, sounding anything but sorry.
You laughed, shaking your head. You still laid a kiss below his shoulder before you settled back down. He gave your waist a gentle squeeze, pressing a kiss of his own to your forehead. A deep breath fell from between his lips, and his eyes closed.
A question was on the tip of his tongue. Where you were, why you got up. Was it something he could help with? Or was it one of those moments you needed to have alone, not unlike the times you gave him to settle with his thoughts, after a hunt gone sideways. If it was important, youâd level with him, wouldnât you?
So he let it be.
In the morning, you somehow once again managed to get out of bed without him feeling it. He didnât hear you either. Curiosity led him down the hall and glancing inside the cracked door of Samâs room. It was empty, his running shoes gone from the side of his bed. Dean rolled his eyes.
All right, Lance.
Oh, wait, that was biking. âŠWhatever.
Deanâs next path inevitably took him down to the kitchen. His stomach was already percolatingâin need of good coffee and (hopefully) good food.
The smell wafting from the kitchen surprised him, however. Cinnamon apples?
He turned the corner, and there he found you.
The fuck?
You looked a bit of a mess. Your hair was thrown up into a haphazard bun, and youâd stolen his apron. Though in his eyes, you made it look better, the white fabric hugging around your curves like you were Rachel Ray or something. You were frazzled when he came downstairs, but happy to see him. You beckoned him over and sat him down at the small kitchen table.
âSweetheart, whatâs going on here?â he asked, eying you curiously.
âJust stay there!â you called from the kitchen. He heard you opening the oven, cursing when you nearly dropped something.
What the hell were you doing baking before 9:00 a.m.?
He turned to ask you what was going on (and if you needed help), but before the words could come out of his mouth, you came over and carefully set down the pie in front of him. The rich aroma, the golden flaky crust, the flecks of cinnamon and glossy apples peeking out from the divots in said crustâit all had Deanâs mouth watering, and his shocked gaze fixed on the shiny pastry.
He startled a little when he felt your hands on his shoulders, sliding part of the way down his arms. You kissed the side of his head.
âThought I wouldnât remember, did you?â you teased. âHappy Birthday, baby.â
Deanâs throat constricted. He tried not to show it, but your gaze gentled when he finally met yours, like you were seeing through all his layers anyway. He realized then what you were probably working on last night, and he really couldnât fucking believe it.
Heâd forgotten his own birthday. Couldnât see much use in celebrating, when year after crappy yearâŠ
But he closed a hand over yours on his shoulder, and he brought your hand to his lips.
Every word he couldnât yet say to you was etched in that single gesture.
AN: Short and angsty sweet! lol And the monthly prompt was "pie!" đ„§ For Dean of course. đ
Hope you guys enjoy this one! đ

a few words. l Joel Miller
Summary:Â words he didn't want you to hear
Warnings:Â angst, unpleasant conversation, they move away from each other
A/N: nothing special. your feedback is very important to me and I thank you for all the reblogs, comments and likes. đ€ sorry for all the mistakes
short stories from life. [masterlist]
Tommy looked at his brother as if he was seeing him for the first time in his life. He hadn't expected this and was slowly regretting that he had shown up at the stables with a few bottles of beer that evening.
"You can't be fucking serious." he finally said.
The man who was sitting on a haystack by the wall seemed exhausted. His brown eyes were fixed on the horse in the opposite stall, the bottle in his big hands still full of beer.
"You slept with her?" Joel looked at him surprised. "What? Simple question. Did you sleep with her or not?"
Joel shook his head. "No."
"But you wish you did."
He looked down, but he couldn't lie to someone who knew him so well. Of course he thought about it. Most often when he was alone in the dark bedroom. Memories of every kiss, tender touch, moments when he held you in his arms - all of these haunted him like ghosts.
He was furious because he wanted more. He wanted to be alive again, to feel again. But should he?
"Joel, you've known each other for years, you live together. Why are you messing with her head if you don't want anything to do with her?"
"It's not like that, Tommy..." his voice was tired, barely audible. "Everything's different with her."
"So why don't you want to give it a chance?" Tommy took a sip of beer. "I don't get it. If you want to be with her, then be. Tell her how you feel and..."
"I'm too old for this!" Joel snapped. "She deserves better, and I can't give it to her."
"Bullshit!" Tommy muttered.
There was silence for a moment. The distant noises of the city settling in for the night drifted through the open stable door. Tommy sat down next to his brother, resting his arms on his knees.
"She's a really nice girl," he said. "I see how she looks at you, cares about you and Ellie. Do you really want to break her heart like that?"
"She's tough."
"Yes, she is."
"Are you going out?"
You were just putting a thermos with a hot drink and a couple of sandwiches into your backpack, you didn't even look up when Joel went down to the kitchen in the morning.
"Yeah. I'm going on patrol." you answered.
Joel frowned. "Our turn is tomorrow."
"I swapped with Paul. He'll go with you. You two get along."
An unpleasant shiver ran down his spine, his heart sped up. The backpack was almost ready, and you didn't seem in the mood for long conversations.
"I'd rather go with you." he grumbled, coming closer and clenching his hands on the back of the chair.
"A change will do you good. It'll do us good too."
"Have you talked to Tommy about this?"
You slung your backpack over your shoulder and looked him in the eye for the first time. He saw something strange in that look. A mixture of sadness, anger, and some kind of severity. You hadn't looked at him like that before.
"You'll probably talk to him yourself, right?" you said "I think..." your voice broke for a moment, but you quickly got back on track. "I think when I get back I'll ask Maria to find me another place to live."
"W-What? Why?"
"We both know why."
You adjusted your backpack and left the house. The world you had built had just collapsed.
"What the fuck was I supposed to do?"
"You could have not let her go!"
"She's an adult, Joel! She came last night, said she had already talked to Paul. I couldn't say no to her." Tommy put the crate in the storage room and looked at Joel.
He could see that his brother was furious and distraught. You usually went on patrols together, Joel didn't like you going out alone. Although he knew you would manage, he didn't fully trust others. Now he had completely lost control over anything.
Tommy looked at him with pity. "I think she must have heard us yesterday. Maria saw her in town, she was upset. Then she showed up at our place. I didn't ask, it's none of my business."
"You could have stopped her." Joel repeated quietly.
"And you could have kept her with you. But you chose not to."
He could.

Chapter 7 - Girl of The Season | âMovie Night'
word count - 11.3k
You went out to dinner with Jack, Noah, Trent, and a few more of their friends. At first you didnât want to go but Trent texted you that he better see you tonight. It made you giddy when he followed up...
It was sweet, playful, and everything youâd wanted. The night had started with excitement, a thrill of anticipation as youâd read more of Trentâs message telling you heâd have a hard time keeping his hands off you. It all had you feeling like a schoolgirl. Youâd gone out thinking itâd be funâa way to let loose and enjoy the easy chemistry that had been brewing between you and Trent, even with everyone else around. You imagined the night like any other was lately, filled with laughter and stolen glances that no one else would notice. The evening buzzed with energy, drinks flowing and stories spinning across the table. The group banter was easy, familiar. But as you sat at the table, laughing along to their stories, everything changed in an instant. One boy looked at Trent and asked a question thatâs intent was harmless but catastrophic to you.Â
âBro, so who's the girl of the season right now?â The question was referring to something you didnât know about. It hung in the air, a casual laugh among them, but it made you freeze. You tried to keep your face neutral, not wanting to react to something you didnât quite understand. Trent shifted in his seat, letting out a small laugh as he shrugged it off, but the other boys egged him on, teasing him as if they were letting you in on some kind of inside joke. Trent couldnât do anything but let it play out. He felt helpless and stupid at the mercy of his own history. You knew Trent got with plenty of other girls before you but you had no idea it was so routine. That heâd apparently find a girl ahead of each football season began so heâd have someone locked in for when he was away and because heâd be too busy to go out and find someone- it was convenience not love.Â
âYeah, just share her now, mate. Or is she not locked in yetâ Noah laughed. They kept laughing and adding to it, casually throwing around details as if this ritual was common knowledge, as if finding a girl for convenience was routine. It felt hollow, the notion that Trent had a pattern, that every season he had someone by his side just as a placeholder for when he was busy.
âGirl of the season huh?â You quipped with a raised brow. You felt sick but presented just teasing. You tried to keep your tone light, even though your pulse was racing. You looked to Trent for clarity, a reassurance he didnât immediately give. The boys kept talking. Even Jack joining asking if it was maybe going to be the girl he rejected i.e you. i.e the girl Trent had told them about after your incident at the club. Your heart sank, you wanted to cry but you bit back tears and spoke up once more. Inside you felt horrible. Were you merely his âgirl or the season?â âSo⊠is there a contract?â you asked, sarcasm laced in your voice. âWhenâs the deadline day?â You quipped. But the weight of the situation bore down on you, leaving you feeling like you were nothing more than an option, something temporary. You were trying to join the banter just to survive, even though you were crumbling inside.
âY/N itâs not that serious, the transfer window is always openâ one boy laughed. All the boys laughed, not sensing the discomfort behind your smile. They couldnât possibly know this information hurt you. They didnât know everything that had happened behind closed doors.
âYeah, itâs rolling. I was just curious because Trenty usually has his girl locked in by this point. Seasonâs started. You know a lucky lady to keep him⊠entertained,â Noah laughed, the others nodding in agreement. âSheâs lucky⊠and convenient. Heâs a busy man, after all.â He joked further. You felt the blood drain from your face, but you forced a smile.Â
âIs it now? Wow⊠sounds really really good for you â you sarcastically quipped.Â
âNah, lads relax⊠itâs not.â Trent tried to stop this. He could feel your tension even though it wasnât showing on your composed face. Trent cut in, sensing the shift, his voice softening as he tried to redirect the conversation. His eyes flicked over you with a trace of panic and concern but most of all guilt. But the boys continued, chuckling about his past conquests, reeling off names as if recounting game stats.Â
âYeah remember the year you won the Champions league you were cooking with girls. Lol. Michele, Keely, TaylorâŠâ Noah added. It was a boys dinner and suddenly you realized that and they didnât. Noah forgot about the obvious crush you had on Trent. Noah meant no harm but this was making you sick. The illusion of intimacy shattered in your mind, leaving raw insecurity and a sudden urge to escape. Trent sensed it, reaching for your hand under the table, a dangerous move but it was the only thing he could do, his touch gentle, but you pulled back, suddenly feeling exposed. Trying to keep your composure, you excused yourself and walked quickly to the bathroom. Your hands shook as you closed the door, the glossy, tiled walls offering little comfort. The hurt hit you all at once, and you sank onto the floor, your breath hitching as you tried to hold back tears, feeling crushed under the weight of it all. The thought that youâd been so easily slotted into a role in his lifeâtemporary, interchangeable, convenientâcut deeper than youâd imagined. Had you let yourself believe you were different to him? That you mattered more? In the solitude of the bathroom, the truth crashed over you in waves. It wasnât just that he had been with other girls beforeâof course he had. But this casual talk, the way they all laughed as if his relationships were nothing more than placeholders, as if this âgirl of the seasonâ title was just part of the cycle⊠it made you feel disposable. You wrapped your arms around yourself, hot tears blurring your vision. You felt naive, stupid even, for letting yourself fall for someone whoâd apparently seen you as convenient. For thinking you were different. It felt foolish to imagine you could hold a place in his life that was anything more than temporary. In the cold, sterile quiet of the bathroom, you replayed every tender moment youâd shared with Trent, every laugh, every late-night conversation, every quiet touch that had felt so real. And now, it felt like it had all been a facade. How could you have been so naive?
After a few deep breaths, you pulled yourself together, standing up and dabbing at your eyes. You couldnât hide out forever, no matter how much you wanted to. You checked your reflection, steeling yourself, and returned to the table, forcing a breezy smile as you slid back into your seat, a mask of indifference firmly in place. But as you settled in, Trentâs gaze caught yours, worry etched across his face. Heâd seen the hurt lingering in your eyes, even as you tried to hide it. The question of whether he caredâwhether heâd ever care as deeply as you didâhung between you, unspoken but heavy. And in that moment, you realized you didnât want to be anyoneâs âgirl of the season.â Not even his. Trent looked at you, his gaze intense, worry etched into his features. He didnât know what to do, he couldnât do anything and you loathed him for it. You averted your eyes, focusing instead on your drink, anything to avoid his gaze. Your heart was screaming that you werenât. Youâd wanted so badly for him to see you as more, for what you had together to mean something real. And now, you werenât sure if it ever could.Â
The night had unraveled faster than you could process, and the hurt simmered, sharp and bitter, as the dinner ended. You didnât look at Trent once more the rest of the night, you completely ignored him. Trentâs presence had been an ache next to you that you ignored, refusing to look his way, refusing to acknowledge him as if somehow that might make the pain hurt less. You were barely holding it together when you all stood up to leave. The others filed out, laughing and talking, but you pulled Jack aside and asked if he could drive you to Laylaâs instead. Jack chuckled, a teasing grin on his face.Â
âWhy did Trent even buy you that car if Iâm always the one driving you around?â he teased, completely unaware of the turmoil swirling inside you. You forced a smile, ready to brush it off, but Trent stepped in, his voice firm.
âIâm heading that way, Y/N. Let me drop you at Layâs,â he said. You snapped back a quick âNo,â trying to keep your tone dismissive, trying to make it sound like you just didnât want to be a bother. But Jack insisted, scoffed teasingly, rolling his eyes.
âGo with him, Y/N. I donât want to drive across town,â he said, half-joking, his car keys dangling in his hand as he made a show of locking his car door to prevent you from climbing in. Frustration bubbled up, and you were close to tears, caught between trying to hold it together and wanting to break down.Â
âJack, please. Just drive me home then,â you whispered, your voice barely hiding the tremble. But after a bit more back and forth, with Jack being relentless and Trent silently waiting, the rest of the boysâ cars pulled out, Jackâs included, leaving you and Trent alone in the dark, quiet car park. The silence in the parking lot was thick, broken only by the distant sound of traffic and the soft hum of streetlights above. You stood there, feeling exposed, raw from the dinner that had stripped away your illusions. You wanted to hide, to be anywhere but here, but Trentâs gaze held you still. His eyes, so familiar and usually so gentle, were clouded with an intensity that made your chest ache.
âCome here,â he said quietly but sternly, his hand reaching out for you, his voice steady but soft. Trent was still, his face serious, any of the laughter from dinner completely gone.
âNo,â you said sharply, pulling back. Your voice cracked, and you bit down hard on your lip to keep the tears at bay. âJust⊠donât, Trent. Just leave me alone. Iâm not going with you. Iâll call an uber.â You snipped. You wanted to shout, scream at him for everything youâd heard tonight and for the pain it had left you with, but you were too tired, too heartbroken to manage anything louder than a whisper. âPlease leave me alone.â You whispered once more as the tears on your lash line finally tipped over. You felt the tears streaming down now, the anger and hurt tumbling out as you cried, unable to contain it any longer. But he wasnât giving up.Â
âY/N, look at me,â he said firmly, stepping closer, his voice firmer this time. âDo you know what year I won the Champions League?â His question made you flinch; the reminder of the stories his friends had told, of the girls theyâd listed, was like salt in a wound. He was asking you to recall the very thing that hurt. He asked like the question mattered, like it would fix anything. You swallowed hard, struggling to keep your voice steady.
âI donât care, Trent,â you whimpered, wiping a hand across your tear-streaked face. You glared at him, your eyes blazing with hurt. And then a different emotion appeared in full force. âI donât care, T. I donât care about any of it,â you snapped, wiping angrily at the tears falling faster. But he wasnât deterred. His jaw was set, his eyes locked on yours, determined to make you hear him.
âThe year I won the Champions League,â he began slowly, voice low but steady, âwas the year you had that serious boyfriend.â His words hung between you like a confession, and for a second, you forgot to breathe. For context, he wasn't referring to Josh. You remembered that year â the love youâd thought you had found with another boy, the trust that had shattered when youâd learned of his cheating. But why was Trent bringing it up now? âI couldnât stand it, Y/N,â he said, his voice softening, breaking just slightly. âI couldnât stay home watching you be his. I needed⊠anything, anyone, to stop thinking about you with him. It hurt.â He explained but it wasnât enough.
âOh, am I supposed to feel bad for you, Trent? You needed a distraction while I was dating someone? He was cheating on me, okay?â The anger that had simmered in you suddenly flared up, burning bright. âSo poor you. Iâm so sorry that you had to fill your fucking bed with so many girls. And mind you so many that you couldnât even be asked to be there for me during one of the worst years of my life. Trent, he was cheating on me! And now⊠now Iâm here again, wondering if Iâm just another âdistractionâ for you.â You choked, the tears coming faster now, the memories making the hurt sting even more. âHe had other women, and youâre doing the same thing. Iâm never enough, Trent! You all always need someone else. Something more than meâ You yelled generalizing all men. You were lumping Trent with every other man.
âBaby⊠please.â He begged with a pet name that made you wince at the minute. And while it wasnât entirely correct what you were saying, there was truth in it. You took a step back, throwing your hands up, cutting him off.Â
âNo! This is exactly what it is, Trent. I am never enough. I give everything, and itâs never enough for you⊠for any of you!â The words came out in a yell, louder than you intended, and in that moment, you couldnât stop the full on sobs, letting them spill over, hot and blinding as they streamed down your face.
âY/N, itâs not like that,â he said gently, reaching out to you, but you stepped back, crossing your arms as if to shield yourself from the pain. He shook his head, his eyes pleading, as he stepped closer trying again..Â
âThis isnât right,â you said, voice hoarse from crying. Trent was silent, his face losing its color as he took in the weight of your words. âWe need to stop. I canât⊠I canât do this to Jack. Lying to him when heâs given me everything, and Iâm giving it all to you, and to you Iâm just⊠nothing.â The words cracked, a final, painful admission, the weight of it all too heavy to bear. Trentâs face crumpled with remorse, his gaze full of guilt, and without a word, he stepped into you, and this time, when he reached for you, you didnât resist. His arms wrapped around you, pulling you into him, and for a moment, you let yourself be held, resting your forehead against his chest as you breathed in his familiar scent amidst your tears. He was warm, solid, and despite everything, being in his arms felt safe. You fought him for a moment, weakly pushing against his chest, but he held on, his grip steady and strong, grounding you as you let the tears fall. Shame and guilt washed over him, silent and heavy, as he held you close, feeling the depth of what heâd let happen. And for a moment, the world fell away, the pain eased by the warmth of his arms, though neither of you could find words to fix it.Â
âI know I donât deserve you, but I promise⊠itâs not like that. It never has been with you. Youâre not just another girl. Iâve waited so long, Y/NâŠâ He quietly whispered, voice thick with emotion as he gently stroked your back. âI shouldâve done more to stop it, I just⊠I donât know but I know I fucked up at dinner. I know Iâm not doing enough but I also donât know how to make this better, but I want to. I want this. I want you. And I swear, itâs not a game for me.â His fingers brushed through your hair, his voice a soothing murmur, and you let yourself lean into him, the weight of your pain easing slightly. But as he held you, another ache rose in your chest, heavier, more real.Â
âItâs just⊠Jack is all I have, Trent,â you said, voice muffled against his chest. âYou and Jack⊠youâre all I have left.â And the words tasted like truth, a bittersweet reminder of everything youâd lost, of the fragile balance you were trying so hard to keep. âI canât do this.â You whimpered. âNot for something that isnât even real to you.â You whispered. He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of your head, a soft, tender gesture that made your heart clench.Â
âI donât want you to feel likeâŠ. like this isnât real to me. If itâs even possible itâs so much more real than I ever thought possible and Iâm sorry Iâm shit at handling it.â His words hung in the cool night air, full of promise, and as he held you, the quiet between you was thick with things unsaid. You closed your eyes, letting yourself believe him for a moment, letting yourself hope that somehow, you wouldnât have to choose, that somehow, you could keep them both. His arms were a steady warmth around you, and though the pain hadnât faded completely, in this moment, it felt like maybe⊠just maybe⊠there was a way forward.
The car hummed softly beneath you as Trent pulled out of the parking space, his hand warm and steady around yours, grounding you in a way that was both comforting and bittersweet. The weight of the evening still sat heavily on your shoulders, the words exchanged at dinner echoing in your mind, each one pulling at the fragile threads of the trust youâd placed in him. But now, in this quiet moment, his hand was solid in yours, and that simple touch brought a calm you desperately needed. You shifted in your seat, leaning into him, feeling the warmth of his shoulder against your cheek as you closed your eyes, letting the silence settle between you. He brushed his thumb softly over your knuckles, a small but constant reassurance that he was here, that he was with you. The faint streetlights casted a gentle glow over the carâs interior, illuminating his face in the soft shadows, and you felt yourself easing just slightly, even as your heart continued to ache.
âDo you thinkâŠ. Erm, TâŠDo you think I could just go to your house tonight?â you whispered, barely audible stumbling to get to the ask out. âIâm really sad, and I donât want to sleep alone.â Your voice wavered, thick with tears, and you sniffled, trying to steady yourself. He looked at you, a gentle smile tugging at his lips as he took in the vulnerability you were offering, no walls, no defenses. Itâs not that you didnât want to see Layla. It was just that you knew if you told her what you heard tonight sheâd have an opinion and it wasnât that you didnât value her thoughts, you just needed to get yours in order before you debriefed. Was Trentâs bed the best place to sort those? No, but you wanted his comfort, heâd always been your comfort.Â
âYeah, pretty girl,â he murmured, a tenderness in his eyes that was almost enough to make you believe everything could be okay. âYou can come be with me tonight. You can sleep with me whenever you want, okay? My baby.â His words wrapped around you like a promise, one that felt as real as the warmth of his hand around yours, and you nodded, your head finding its way back to his shoulder. For a while, you just stayed like that, nestled into him as he drove, his thumb tracing soothing patterns over your hand resting on his thigh. The city lights blurred softly as he drove, casting gentle reflections against the car windows, and you let yourself sink into the quiet comfort of his presence, each moment a balm to the ache in your heart.
When you reached his house, he parked and didnât let go of your hand as you both made your way inside, guiding you gently through the door, his touch never wavering. Once inside, he pulled you close, his arms wrapping around you, holding you like he never wanted to let go. You melted into him, resting your head against his chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart, and for the first time all night, you felt yourself relax, the weight of the world slipping just a little as he held you.Â
He guided you to his bedroom and suddenly a big smile pulled on his face. Tiredly you asked him why he was smiling like that. You werenât in the mood and really werenât in the mood for any cheek. But that gorgeous cheeky smile all made sense once you were stood in Trentâs ensuite, holding a brand new pink Goyard wash bag in your hands. Despite everything weighing on your mind, you couldnât help but let out a small laugh. You traced the soft pink leather with your fingers, glancing back at him with a puzzled smile as he came into the room, his own grin lighting up his face.
âT⊠what is this?â you asked, holding it up. He chuckled, stepping closer.
âItâs the same one I have, because, obviously, itâs the best one,â he explained, âmineâs white but I got it for you in pink so itâs like a Mr. and Mrs. thing, you know?â The sincerity in his voice melted something inside you. You turned and wrapped your arms around him, pulling him close, and he leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead, holding you like he never wanted to let go.
âGo on, open it though,â he urged gently, nodding toward the wash bag, his eyes bright with anticipation. You hadnât even realized the weight of it, realizing that clearly there were things inside of it as well. You raised a brow, a little surprisedâdid he really go beyond the bag itself? Unzipping it, you peeked inside and felt an instant laugh bubbling up as you took in all the familiar beauty products youâd mentioned to him the other night, each one carefully packed. You looked up at him in disbelief, a smile stretching across your face as he rubbed the back of his neck with a sheepish grin. âI actually had to ask my mum to come with me,â he confessed, laughing as he watched your expression. âDidnât want to look like a complete idiot in the beauty section.â You couldnât help but giggle at the thought, picturing him awkwardly shuffling through the aisles, trying to get it all right.Â
âYouâre ridiculous,â you murmured, shaking your head with affection. Trent pulled you closer, his hand resting on the small of your back as he looked down at you, his voice softer now.Â
âYouâre my only girl, alright? You know you always have been. Iâm sorry that I did things that made it seem like you werenât. Iâm sorry it took me so long to show you thatâŠOnly girl Iâd ever pay that kind of money for ounces of cream for.â He laughed, clearly mocking the price tag on your La Mer moisturizer. âBut for you⊠anything.â And with that, the tears youâd been trying so hard to hold back started spilling over. You wiped at them with the back of your hand, giggling through your sniffles, embarrassed but touched beyond words.
âStop, baby!â he laughed, reaching up to gently swipe a tear off your cheek with his thumb. âPlease no more tears. I hate when you cry so, so much,â he whispered, pulling you close again.
âSorry,â you murmured, a soft giggle slipping out as you looked up at him. You stood on your tiptoes, pressing a tender kiss to his lips, feeling the warmth and safety of him radiate through you. Trent brushed his nose against yours, his hand cradling your cheek as he whispered,Â
âIâve got you, pretty girl. Always.â And for the first time in a while, you felt your heart settle, the ache easing just a little as you held onto him, feeling the promise of his words wrap around you.
You crawled into Trentâs bed, pulling back the covers, and let out a surprised laugh when you saw the smooth, cool silk pillowcases heâd swapped in just for you. Trent stood nearby, watching your reaction with a smirk, his hands on his hips.
âSee?â he teased, puffing up a little as if heâd won a major victory. âGot the silk pillowcases and everything. Iâm in, baby.â He cooed proudly. This act so clearly showed he was making an effort. You couldnât help but feel your heart melt at the gesture, a warmth spreading across your chest.Â
âYou actually do the most,â you said, shaking your head, but the grin on your face gave you away. The fact that heâd followed through with something so small, something that made you feel comforted and at home, touched you deeply. He moved closer, and you reached out, looping your arms around his neck and pulling him into a hug. You buried your face in the crook of his neck, breathing in his familiar scentâa mix of his cologne and the lingering warmth of the day. He wrapped his strong arms around you, holding you like he never wanted to let go. You could feel the rise and fall of his chest, his heartbeat steady beneath your cheek.
âThank you,â you whispered softly, your voice barely audible. You pulled back just enough to look into his eyes. âThank you for liking me⊠for doing all of this.â His eyes softened, and he gazed at you with such tenderness that it made your throat tighten.Â
âAlways,â he murmured. He cupped your face in his hands, thumbs brushing over your cheekbones, then kissed your forehead. The touch was gentle, lingering, as if he wanted to press his feelings directly into your skin. You both climbed into bed, and as you got comfortable, you found yourself settling halfway on top of him, your back resting against his side, your legs tangled with his. His hand found its way to your collarbone, tracing light, lazy patterns that sent shivers down your spine. His touch was calming, grounding you in a way that made you feel safer than you had in a long time. In the dim light, with only the moon casting soft shadows across the room, you found the courage to ask something that had been weighing on your mind.Â
âT... Do you thinkâŠâ you started, your voice hesitant, âweâll ever be able to really go out together? Like, just⊠be out in the open?â You asked. The vulnerability in your voice made Trent pause. He turned his head slightly to look at you, his expression earnest. A gentle smile pulled at his lips.Â
âYeah, course if you want that,â he said, his voice full of quiet conviction. His fingers paused in their gentle tracing, and he shifted slightly to look at you more directly. âI mean⊠things have been good between us I thought but I also didnât know you wanted that. For us to like go on a date or anything. I wasnât sure if you liked the secrecy. I donât know what you thought.â He explained to you sheepishly. Clearly things worked well between you in the bedroom and while you had no problem discussing that, it was also so glaringly obvious there was more to this relationship than just the sex⊠you just hadnât said it yet. You bit your lip, feeling both shy and exposed.Â
âI do,â you admitted. âI mean, I know itâs complicated, but⊠I just want to be with you.â He smiled again, this time with a deeper, knowing affection.Â
âI want that too. I really do,â he told you. âI just didnât know how serious you wanted this to be. But if you want it⊠then Iâm in. Silk pillow cases, dates, whatever you want.â His words made your heart flutter, and for a moment, the world felt a little brighter. Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes, but this time they were happy ones. You didnât say anything more, afraid that if you spoke, you might start crying for real. Instead, you leaned in and kissed his jaw, your lips lingering as you tried to show him everything you couldnât put into words. That night, there was no urgency between you, no rush to tear each otherâs clothes off or tumble into anything wild. Instead, there was a softness that blanketed the room, a shared vulnerability that felt like a bridge between your hearts. You both exchanged gentle, lingering kisses that were more about comfort and closeness than anything else, the tender brush of lips and shared warmth easing the hurt from earlier. As you settled into the soft sheets, the familiar comfort of his bed easing the ache in your chest. His hands gentle as they traced soothing patterns over your back. You curled into him, your legs tangling with his, seeking out every ounce of warmth and comfort he could offer. As you laid there, he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. âI want you.â He murmured softly. âAnd only you. Always have.â The sincerity in his voice made your heart squeeze, and you found yourself finally breathing a little easier. And as you drifted to sleep, his arms wrapped securely around you, you realized that maybe, just maybe, you could allow yourself to believe in him, in this, in a future where he was more than just a fleeting presence in your life. You squeezed his hand once more, a silent promise to yourself that tonight, at least, you could find peace in his arms. When you finally drifted off, you did so with your head on his chest, your arms wrapped tightly around his torso, your cheek pressed against the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. Your face was relaxed, your pouty bottom lip just barely brushing his skin. Trent lay there, his hand stroking your back in gentle circles, the other cradling the back of your head. He pressed soft kisses to your hairline, whispering to you even though you were already half-asleep. He stayed awake longer, watching the soft, peaceful expression on your face as you dreamed. Guilt twisted in his chest as he thought about how hurt youâd been earlier, how youâd tried to hide it but couldnât quite keep the pain from seeping through. He wished he could take it all back, erase the moments that made you doubt him. The memory of your stricken face during dinner haunted him, and he knew he had to make it right. His mind began to work on a plan, a way to take you out on a real date, one that wouldnât be about sneaking around or hiding. He wanted to show you off, to be open about how much you meant to him. He imagined a perfect night, one that would make you smile so brightly that he could forget the hurt heâd caused. As he held you, his chest tightening with how much he cared for you, he promised himself heâd make it happen. You were his only girl, always had been, and he was determined to show you that in every way possible. Even if he couldnât fix the past, heâd make sure the future was full of moments where you never had to doubt what you meant to him.
After that dinner, things settled back into something you could only describe as uneasy but fine. You still were living this double life, lying to Jack. Keeping the extent of your new life beyond the first fuck from Layla. On the inside of houses, the confines of bedrooms, everything felt perfect; the chemistry with Trent was undeniable, and whenever you were together, it felt like the two of you were building something real. But the moment he left, that foundation started to shake. Alone, doubts crept in, the taunting whispers of insecurity that left you questioning every detail. The laughs and comments from the dinner echoing in your mind. Was this how he made every âgirl of the seasonâ feel? Were they all secrets he kept? His history loomed over him. It made you wonder, was this just the same story with you? Only now, Jack's little sister had the lead role, the fact making you feel more self conscious of how he viewed you. Â
Layla's constant questions, innocent but probing, made it worse. She didn't know the real extent of what was going on, only that something had happened. She knew you fucked but after that⊠you kept your lips sealed. Saying you weren't sure either, which was a half truth... you didn't but you also were omitting the fact that you were spending night's together. And while you wanted to confide in her, every part of you held back, afraid of exposing too much-afraid it would all unravel the moment it wasn't hidden. More people couldnât know, it was too risky. The secrecy felt safe but also confining, and your chest ached every time you thought of it. The double life weighed on you more than you'd ever let on to Trent. And yet, when he messaged you during his away game, that familiar excitement flared up, and you felt that ache turn into something else, a want to remind him of you, make him feel how much chemistry you two had. For the moment you were hidden but after the dinner, after his promises you wanted to make sure he was certain. He texted asking to call you. You were nervous to agree but who wouldnât want to facetime Trent Alexander-Arnold in bed. You werenât sure how to act at first but then you decidedâ You wanted to make it clear you wanted him. You wanted to make him want you. Apprehensive but determined, you sifted through your wardrobe quickly, finding the boldest, most daring piece of sleepwear you owned. It was underwear disguised as something casual. You finally sat in front of the camera, as his call pinged through your phone. You answered, and immediately his jaw dropped.Â
"Oh my fucking days," he murmured, his voice low, a mixture of shock and hunger flashing in his eyes. The look he gave you sent a thrill through your entire body.
"Hi," you cooed, feigning innocence as you adjusted your posture slightly, giving him an even better view. A small, mischievous smile tugged at your lips. You wanted this to be memorable. Trent leaned closer to the screen, shaking his head with disbelief and lust flaring behind his eyes.
"You look unreal. Fucking hell," he said, his gaze tracing every curve as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. You felt a rush of power, the distance fading as he soaked up every detail of your look. But it wasnât just the look, it was everything; the clearly recently lotioned skin, the faux innocence, the vibes were just everything Trent would want.Â
"I just want to make sure you donât think of me only as Jack's sister." You met his eyes, holding his gaze as you whispered. The words hung in the air, a truth you'd wanted to tell him for a while figuring now while you had his attention would work.
"Trust me, he's the last thing I'm thinking about right now," Trent chuckled, still in awe, his eyes glued to you.
"I hope youâre not thinking about other girls while youâre away," you murmured almost as a test but simultaneously a tease running a hand slowly along your raised collarbone over to your shoulder, playing with the delicate strap of your bra as his breath visibly caught.
"Trust me, they're the last thing I'm thinking about," he repeated, his tone shifting, voice raw. âI donât know who youâre even talking about, baby.â You could see it in his eyes-there was no one else he wanted right now. And that single, unspoken promise was all you needed to feel. âI donât want any of that. You know that.I want you. Donât play me, baby.â He smirked, his voice dropping, filled with a frustrated need that made your pulse quicken.
âIâm not playing.â You stretched out languidly, letting your voice drop to a purr. âJust thought you might like a little reminder of whatâs back at home for you.â You told him.Â
âTrust me, I donât need one.â His voice softened, a hint of a smile in it now. âYouâre all I think about. So donât tease me like this. Oh my days, Y/NâŠâ His eyes lit even more as the bra top was practically falling off.Â
âYeah?â you asked, feigning a nonchalant surprise. You could almost feel the tension through the phone. As you toyed with Trent, pulling down the thin strap of your bra, his breath hitched. The teasing, the slow buildâit was intoxicating, leaving him hanging on every move you made. He was completely fixated as you gradually peeled away each item of clothing, your body on full display, leaning back against your bed, meeting his gaze with a mischievous smile. His reaction was instant, a low groan escaping him.
"Oh my god," he breathed, raking a hand over his curls, unable to tear his eyes away. Just as you began to lower the phone whilst opening your legs. A shiver ran through you. Feeling bolder than ever with what you were about to do.Â
"Hold on-my phone's about to d-â You glanced away from the camera, then, without warning, hung up, pretending the call had dropped. Your phone dead. The silence that followed was deafening on his end. For a moment, Trent just blinked, waiting for you to reappear, only to realize you weren't coming back. It dawned on him that you'd left him high and dry, and he almost laughed in disbelief but the strain in his jogger was excruciating. This wasnât funny at all. Not to him. It wasnât long before the messages began flooding your phone, his name lighting up your screen as he called again and again.
Trent was spinning out. He couldnât believe that just happened. You settled back against the pillows, heart pounding as you watched the texts roll in. Your phone buzzedâone, two, three times in a row again and again.Â
But then you turned it off though to play the part. Still, you laid there opting to grab your laptop staring at his messages flood in with a smile. This felt good. It was so easy to believe him when you were together, to let yourself feel like the only girl on his mind. But alone, doubts crept in, filling the space he left behind. Still, you couldnât deny the thrill of making him wait for once. He called but your phone was off or âdeadâ in his mind. He prayed youâd fucking charge it now. He was desperate for you and only you. He was almost embarrassed he had called and texted so many times but he wanted you so badly but as time ticked on he knew this was not an accident, this was chess, Begrudgingly he took matters into his own hands literally. Hours later, you finally responded to his barrage of messages, typing with a grin tugging at your lips. You had left him out to dry and you kind of loved the power switch.
You wrote, knowing very well he was the culprit who'd taken your charger in an effort to hide things from Jack the other day. Your message was cheeky and taunting, almost blaming him for why he didn't get to have the call continue. Really just hammering home that you knew what you were doing. You could practically feel his frustration through the screen as he replied, a flurry of texts that only made you smirk, still desperate for you. His handiwork would never match what you offered.. You had him exactly where you wanted him, and something told you he wouldn't let you get away with this so easily and you couldn'tâ wait.
The anticipation had been building for a whole day after the call, ever since Trent's away game ended. You knew he'd be coming back to you straight away. You had teased him mercilessly during that facetime, flaunting your body and hinting at all the naughty things he could do to you when he returned. But then your phone died or you could also say well⊠you just hung up. His desperate pleas over texts only fueled your excitement, and you couldn't wait to have him back in your arms, and beneath you or under you. You didnât care. Jack was out and you were in⊠and in and just in a tiny tank top and panties. As soon as Trent walked through the door, his eyes locked onto yours, burning with a mixture of desire and frustration. He strode purposefully towards your bedroom, just moving straight past you and straight to the point, his broad shoulders exuding confidence and determination. You followed, unable to resist the pull of his magnetic presence. It was like he came in and didnât need to say a thing because you knew he was frustrated. Not actually, just sexually and you liked it the build up. You had to fight back a giggle as you came into your room after him, plopping yourself on the bed.Â
"Baby," he murmured, his voice low and gravelly as he stood in your room. You couldnât read the inflection. It almost sounded like he was disappointed? Was he actually mad? Momentarily you were nervous but he looked so god damn sexy like this, hungry almost, you wanted to keep up your game just to see what would happen. You were lying on the bed, your hair cascading over the pillows, a seductive smile playing on your lips.
"Did you miss me?" you teased, propping yourself up on your elbows, your tits straining against the thin fabric of your tank top. Trent's eyes darkened at the sight, his gaze flicking between your face and your exposed cleavage. "I'm tired, I wonât lie" you continued, feigning innocence. "You must be too from the flight. Maybe we can just catch up on some sleep tonight.â You knew you were being a tease, and the thought of driving him wild excited you even more.Â
Then there was a shift in the room. He came over to you, his hand picked up your chin, forcing you to look at him.Â
âYouâre not tired.â Trent growled, a low sound that sent shivers down your spine. He told you very matter of fact. "You've been so naughty, babyïżœïżœïżœteasing me like that," he said, his voice laced with a possessive edge. "You know how much I thought about you dressed like that in this bed alone in my hotel." A rush of heat flooded your cheeks as you realized the extent of your power over him. You'd left him with a constant ache, his cock throbbing and heavy with desire. But the shift in power was singly like a pendulum. Now back to you.Â
"I know, baby," you cooed, reaching out to stroke his cheek. "But you like it when I'm a bad girl, don't you?" Trent's eyes blazed with passion as he grabbed your hand, pressing a heated kiss to your palm.Â
"No, baby⊠I like when youâre a good girl fâme. And you've been a very bad girl, and I'm not having that," he whispered, his breath hot against your skin. "Youâre gonna be a good girl now. Right now. And Iâm gonna take what's mine.â He said ferociously but steadily calm as he climbed onto the bed, straddling your waist, his hard muscles pressing into your soft curves. You gasped as his weight settled on you, his erection straining against his trousers, pressing into your core through the thin fabric of your panties. His hands roamed over your body, squeezing and kneading your tits through your top, causing your nipples to pebble in response. "You like being my good girl though, don't you, baby?" he growled, his lips brushing against your ear, sending shivers down your spine. "You like it when I touch you, when I take what I want." You arched into his touch, your breath coming in short gasps.Â
"Yeah huh, T," you whispered, your voice hoarse with desire. Your resolve crumbling, the game falling to pieces instantly.
âI know you do. And right now I want you.but you didnât seem to want meâŠâ he taunted, still teasing you. â So beg.â He commanded.
"I need you please. Please T⊠Iâm sorry.â You whined. The tides turned so fast. The power dynamic has returned to where it was before. With a growl, he tore your top off, baring your tits to his hungry gaze. His mouth claimed one taut peak, sucking and nibbling, while his hand cupped the other, rolling and tugging gently. Your back arched off the bed further, offering yourself to him, your hands threading through his hair, urging him on.
"See? Such a good girl," he murmured between kisses, his hands now exploring your body, sliding down your stomach, tracing the waistband of your panties. "ButâŠ.â He began and your heart skipped a beat. What did you get yourself into? âCanât be acting like that. You've been so bad, baby. Youâre not doing all that with me. Iâm in charge, hmm?â He hummed. You whimpered as he hooked his fingers under the elastic, slowly sliding your panties down your thighs, exposing your glistening pussy to his hungry gaze. His eyes devoured you, taking in every detail of your swollen lips and the dampness between your thighs. "So wet for me. You like this, donât you? Me in charge of you. In control." he growled, his voice thick with desire. You nodded. He was 1000% correct. You werenât sure youâd ever been more turned on in your life. "Youâre gonna take my cock now.â He shifted, positioning himself between your thighs, his cock straining against his trousers. With one swift motion, he ripped at the button and zipper, freeing his thick length. You moaned at the sight, your pussy clenching in anticipation.
"Please, baby. I want your cock. Iâm so sorry," you begged, your voice breathless. "I need you inside me." He didn't make you wait long. You thought heâd draw out the teasing but neither of you could wait any longer. With one powerful thrust, he filled you, stretching and claiming you in one stroke. You cried out, your body welcoming him, your walls gripping and milking his length.the stretch was deliciously painful. You were so tight from minimal prep but god you were wet he just slid in.
"Fuck, you feel so good," he groaned, his eyes screwed shut as he began to move, his hips snapping forward, driving into you with fierce possessiveness. It was clear immediately this was going to be a rough fuck. "You're mine, baby. All mine." You wrapped your legs around his waist, meeting his thrusts with your own, your bodies moving in perfect rhythm. His hands gripped your hips, leaving marks on your skin as he pounded into you, his cock hitting your sweet spot with every stroke.
"You like it rough, don't you, baby?" he panted, his breath hot against your neck as he nibbled and sucked on the sensitive skin. "You want me to fuck you hard?" He asked with a smirk you could feel. âGonna have you begging for more of me.âÂ
"Yes, please," you whimpered, your head thrown back, your body on fire. "I want it all. I want you to take me, own me." Youâd never acted so submissive in your life. This was like an alternative universe only he could create. Trent obliged to your pleas eagerly, his movements becoming more primal, more demanding. Trent kept one hand on your hip guiding your movements but brought his other up your body, his hand wrapping around your neck, eyes pinned to yours. You gasped feeling his tip smashing against your cervix and orgasm barrelling towards you. But then he surprised you by letting go of your neck, slowing his pace ever so much so that the coil loosened in your stomach, the climax retreating momentarily. He was playing games with you. âYou wanted to play with me, baby the other day? Iâll play with you.â He taunted. He moved his hand off your neck and up to cup your cheek. Then swiftly he dragged his thumb across your lips. He slipped it into your mouth with ease as he pulled your mouth open by your bottom lip. He spit his saliva into your mouth and you swallowed diligently with a moan before he pushed his thumb all the way back in for you to suck on it like you would his cock. He groaned when your eyes began to flutter closed with a whine, simultaneously swirling your tongue around his finger.Â
âSuch a good girl fâme.â he gripped your chin looking longingly into your eyes. He loved everything about this. Being in control of you. You letting him control you. You wanting him to control you. He tucked his face in the nape of your neck. He nibbled on your sensitive skin. His hair tickling you. Hoarse grunts escaping him as you soaked him. He hit that spot deep inside you, only he knew. All you could think about was the way he hit that spot again and again, continuously. He felt so good when he dropped his hand between you to rubbing your throbbing clit. He knew how to make you cum and he was going to do it well but he sure as hell wasnât going to let you. So he pulled out and flipped you onto your stomach, throwing you around like a rag doll, positioning you on all fours, your ass raised high in the air, your back arched to perfection, presenting yourself to him. With a possessive growl, he smacked your ass, leaving a stinging imprint of his hand. "Whyâd you have to act like such a naughty fucking girl, baby?" he whispered, his hot breath caressing your sensitive skin. But instead of a whine, you moaned in pleasure. You liked when he slapped your ass. "You like it when I punish you, don't you?" He smirked, mildly surprised that you were this down for him to have this much control. Obviously you knew each other well but in the bedroom you were still finding things out.Â
"Yes," you moaned, your voice hoarse as you pushed back against him, inviting more because you knew more were coming. Trentâs hand rained down on your ass, slap after slap, again and again, leaving a symphony of slaps and marks that would remind you of his dominance. Finally once he felt it was sufficient he let a line of his spit fall onto your ass. He watched it run down over your ass and into the folds of your pussy. His hands caressed the fat of your ass.Â
"You've been a bad girl, teasing me," he said, his voice thick with desire. "Just gotta fuck it out of you now, yeah? Make you my good girl again." He cooed as he positioned himself behind you and began to tease you, dragging his leaking tip across the smooth skin of your ass before slipping it between your folds teasing your entrance. He slowly pushed his cock into your pussy without another word. You were completely drenched. You could feel yourself coat his length in your slick again and again as he drilled in and out of you. The recoil of your ass from his hard thrusts had Trent in pure heaven. God, it mustâve been a good 30 minutes of him just blowing your back out.Â
"Oh, fuck!" you exclaimed, your hands gripping the sheets as he pounded into you, his hips slapping against your ass, the sound of flesh meeting flesh filling the room. âIâm gonna c-.â you cried out, your body trembling.
âNo!â He commanded and you whined as he pulled out, halting it all. âYouâre gonna keep taking my cock.â He told you as he slid back in and so you did. You kept taking him âThat's it, baby," he grunted, his hands gripping your hips, holding you in place as he fucked you with abandon. "Take it, take all of me." You cried out as he slammed into you, his cock hitting your G-spot with every stroke, sending waves of pleasure coursing through your body. Your orgasm building, coiling tight in your core, every inch of your body alive with sensation.â Youâre mine, baby. Understand?â He said it was a seriousness and a harshness that made goosebumps arise on your skin.Â
"I canât⊠oh my fucking god. I'm gonna cum, T," you panted, your nails digging into the sheets as you fought for release. "Iâm gonna cum, fuckâ please." You whined. You moaned as your vision began to blur a little from how good it all felt.
"Not yet, baby," he growled, his voice rough. "Youâre gonna keep taking me because I said so. You asked for this. I want you to feel me, feel every inch of me." He reached around, his fingers finding your clit, rubbing and pinching the sensitive bud as he continued to pound into you. Your moans filled the room, a mixture of pleasure and desperation.
"Please, T, oh my god," you begged, your body on the brink. "I need to cum. Please."
"Not until I say so," he commanded, his voice harsh. "You don't get to come until I'm ready to fill you up with my cum." His words sent a shockwave of desire through you, and you surrendered to his control, your body his to command. âYou continued throwing your ass back as he fucked you relentlessly, his cock driving into your pussy with brutal force, his fingers working your clit with expert precision. "That's it, baby, let me see how much you want it," he grunted, his breath hot against your neck. "You're mine, every inch of you. I own this pussy. I get to decide when you cum.â After a few more strokes, that were gradually getting rougher you heard it, the command youâd be aching for. âCum fâme baby. Cum now.â His words pushed you over the edge, and you exploded around him, your pussy clenching and milking his cock as you cried out his name. âFuck, baby. Gonna cum, alright? Doing so good, baby.â He grunted as his thrusts became messy and unregulated before he came inside of you, filling you up to the brim. his cock twitching and pulsing as he filled you with his hot release. You collapsed onto the bed, your body spent and satisfied. He gently pulled out of you but was quick to push his two fingers along with his leaking cum back inside you for a few moments longer. "You wanna cum again fâme, pretty girl?" He cooed.
âOh fuck- oh my god.â You whined, body gone almost limp but craving more insatiably. His fingers easily sliding in and out of your pussy, finding that magical spot deep inside. He rubbed and pressed your clit as his fingers curled deeper from behind. You cried out, your body exploding in another mind-blowing orgasm. Trent smugly and quietly laughed not at you but just happy you were feeling so good. As your bodies calmed, Trent's softer side emerged as he gently rolled you onto your back, his eyes filled with love and adoration before he collapsed onto the bed beside you, pulling you into his arms. He kissed you tenderly, his hands stroking your hair, his touch now gentle and caring. He held you close, his strong arms offering comfort and protection. You could feel his heart pounding against you, and his breath was warm on your skin.
"My good girl," he whispered, his voice hoarse with emotion. "Did so good fâme. You okay?â Â You smiled, your heart full as you snuggled into his embrace, content in the afterglow of your passionate encounter.Â
"I love being your good girl, T," you murmured, savoring the warmth of his body against yours.Â
"You were more than that, baby. Honestly, that was fucking unreal," he whispered, his voice filled with awe. "I love making you feel good." You snuggled closer, your body still buzzing with pleasure.Â
"Thatâs good because you make me feel amazing.â you tiredly giggled. âButâŠI do really like when you take control, baby," you confessed, your voice soft and sated. "It makes me feel so fucking⊠I donât know wanted or something. I like knowing you want me like that.â You poorly explained in your post orgasmic haze. He chuckled, the sound low and warm.Â
"I do want you, more than you know. And I promise, I'll always take care of youâŠ. Especially after wanting you like that." He smirked. He gently caressed your hair, his touch tender and loving. "Let's clean you up, my pretty girl," he said, his voice filled with affection. He helped you into the shower, the warm water washing away the remnants of your passionate encounter. Trent's hands were gentle as he soaped your body, his touch sending shivers of pleasure through your tired limbs. You leaned into him, your body still limp from the intensity of your orgasms, but he held you close, his strong arms offering relentless support. There was a physical and emotional feeling of warmth with him. He just wanted to wrap around you and keep you with him all the time. He was completely consumed by the thought. Seeing you so fragile after sex just sent a feeling alight inside he didnât quite no how to label.Â
"You're so good to me, T," you whispered, your voice filled with gratitude. Heâd always taken care of you but now it was different⊠so different, so intimate and you both were recognizing it. He kissed the top of your head, his lips soft against your hair.Â
"I will always take care of you, baby. I always have, I always will." He cooed as the water washed away the sweat and passion of your lovemaking, Trent's gentle care and adoration filled the void, leaving you feeling cherished and adored. You knew in that moment that this was more than just physical attraction. It was a deep, profound connection, but one you craved beyond the boundaries of the bedroom.Â
That next morning was a slow, honeyed glow, filtering through the curtains and casting a soft light over the room. The world felt paused, as if the universe had frozen to let you both linger in this quiet perfection a little longer. The warmth of Trentâs skin was the only anchor you needed, the steady beat of his heart a lullaby against your cheek as you lay entwined, tangled together under the weight of the blankets and something far deeper. He shifted slightly, his body moving with that half-conscious care to keep you close, and you felt his breath stir your hair, a sigh caught somewhere between sleep and waking. As he moved, you instinctively tightened your hold, pressing yourself closer, unwilling to let him slip even an inch away.Â
âMmNmm,â you murmured, a soft, sleepy protest as you shook your head against his chest, feeling the rumble of his chuckle in response.
âNah, course not,â he laughed at you, his voice still heavy with sleep, But he was only teasing, he was loving that you didnât want him to move. He lent down, pressing his lips to the top of your head in a lingering kiss, his breath warm against your hair. His hand drifted down your back, tracing gentle patterns, like he was memorizing every inch of you. âMy pretty girl,â he murmured, his voice a tender whisper, more to himself than to you, like he still couldnât believe this was real. The sound of his words washed over you, filling you with a warmth that went beyond the touch of his skin. You looked up at him, meeting his eyes as he gazed down at you, his expression so soft and open, filled with a quiet awe that made your heart ache. He brushed a stray strand of hair from your face with a gentle hand, his fingers lingering, tracing the curve of your cheek as if you were something precious, something fragile. âNah youâre actually so gorgeous, baby,â he cooed, a little smile playing on his lips as his thumb brushed your cheek. He studied you, his eyes tracing every detail of your face as if he were afraid heâd wake up and find this had all been a dream. His other hand slipped around your waist, pulling you even closer, holding you like heâd never let you go. You couldnât help but sleepily smile, your own hands finding their way to his, fingers lacing together as you pulled his arm around you, tucking yourself against him. âCanât believe I finally have you with me,â he whispered, almost like he was speaking to himself, his voice tinged with wonder and something deeper, something vulnerable. You didnât need to say anything; words felt unnecessary in the soft, stolen space between you. Instead, you pressed a gentle kiss to his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin under your lips, letting the silence say everything that you couldnât.Â
âYou feel like a dream sometimes.â After a while, you finally spoke up when something other than sheer bliss came into your head. His arms tightened around you, his thumb gently stroking your side, sending a shiver through you that made you feel acutely, blissfully alive. He tilted your chin up, his lips meeting yours in a soft, unhurried kiss, so full of affection it left you breathless. He pulled back just enough to look at you, his hand cupping your face as he held you there, his gaze deep and intent.Â
âYouâve been my dream,â he murmured softly, brushing his thumb across your cheek. You felt his fingers run through your hair, tucking it behind your ear with the same careful attention, his eyes never leaving yours as he continued to trace slow circles on your back. He rested his forehead against yours, his breathing soft and steady, and for a moment, you both stayed there, your breaths mingling in the small space between you. The morning stretched on, time losing meaning as you lay there, cocooned in each otherâs arms. The world outside could wait; for now, all that mattered was the quiet perfection of this moment, of being held, of being seen, of feeling his heart beat in time with yours. It was a feeling you wanted to hold on to forever, a softness that seemed to live only in the rare, untouched hours of early morning.

End of Terror
Reader(Wife) X Bruce Wayne/Batman(husband)
Summery: You're terrified of the 'Batman', even though he is your husband. Dick, Jason, and Tim think it's time for you to face your fears. But their plan fails when you start crying.
If you you're more into being a badass and not being scared of Batman, check out Beneath the Cowl.
Rating: Sad, Bruce comfort, happy ending
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"No, no, no, absolutely not," You insisted, your heart racing at the mere suggestion. "You guys can't be serious."
Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian stared at you with a mix of amusement and curiosity, their eyes gleaming with mischief. It was one of those moments when you know your family is about to pull a fast one on you.
"Come on," Dick said with a grin, his voice light and teasing. "You're married to Bruce. Surely you've picked up some courage along the way."
"Courage doesn't come with the wedding vows," you shot back, trying to keep your voice steady. The thought of facing Batman, the caped crusader himself, filled you with a mix of awe and dread. Despite being a part of the Wayne family and knowing the man behind the mask, the legend of Batman was something you had never quite gotten used to. You felt a cold sweat break out on your forehead.
"But think about it," Jason chimed in, a devilish glint in his eye. "It'll be good for you. LikeâŠtherapy."
The idea was ludicrous, but something about their enthusiasm made you consider it for a moment. Maybe facing your fear would help you understand Bruce's world better, or at least stop you from jumping at shadows every time he came home from a night out. You took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions raging within you.
"Or," you began, weighing your words carefully, "we could justâŠnot. I mean, I'm happy being the supportive wife and loving mother figure, behind the scenes. You guys are the ones with the cool gadgets and fighting skills." You tried to laugh it off, but the nervousness was evident in your voice.
But before you could say another word, Jason, ever the impulsive one, swooped in and picked you up, lifting you off the ground with surprising ease. "Nope, you're not getting out of it that easily," he said, a smug smirk playing on his lips.
You squealed, a mix of surprise and protest escaping you as he playfully hoisted you over his shoulder. The room spun slightly, and you felt your cheeks flush with a combination of embarrassment and the rush of adrenaline. "Jason, put me down!" You squirmed, trying to regain your footing, but his grip was firm.
Tim and Dick exchanged knowing looks, and you could see the silent agreement passing between them. They weren't about to let you back out of this. "To the batcave," Dick announced with a dramatic flourish, and you felt your stomach drop.
Jason carried you down the hidden staircase, his steps sure and swift. The walls of the passageway whizzed by, and the cold concrete felt like it was closing in on you. The dim light from the glowing Bat-symbols inlaid in the floor was the only guide as you descended deeper into the heart of the mansion's secret.
"Okay! Okay, hear me out," you called out, trying to keep the panic from seeping into your voice. "What if I just watch from a safe distance?"
"No can do," Dick said, his tone firm yet kind. "You're going to face your fear, head-on."
You felt a lump form in your throat as Jason finally set you down on the cold, hard floor of the Batcave. The sight of the sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles and the iconic Batsuit was overwhelming. You had been here before, of course, but it had always been Bruce's domain, a place where you felt more like a guest than a participant. "It's your husband for Pete's sake," Tim said, his voice a mix of understanding and challenge. "You've got this." Jason released you with a playful pat on the back that almost sent you stumbling forward.
You took a moment to gather your thoughts, your eyes darting around the room for an escape. "You know what," you began, your voice a little shaky, "I think I left something in the oven." It was a feeble excuse, but desperation made it sound like the most reasonable thing in the world to your ears. You took a step back toward the stairs, hoping to make a break for it before they could react.
But they were quicker than you. Tim stepped in front of you, blocking your path. "We're not letting you back out now," he said, "You can do this."
Jason took a step closer and gently but firmly pushed you toward the central bat computer where Bruce often sat. The chair looked massive and intimidating, a symbol of the burden your husband carried every night. "You're part of this family," he said, his tone softening. "You need to see that Batman isn't just some boogeyman. He's one of us."
"Guys, I don't think this is a good idea," you repeated, your voice quieter now. "This is already embarrassing."
"Don't worry," Tim reassured you with a gentle smile. "We'll be right beside you the whole time."
"That doesn't make it any less embarrassing," you muttered under your breath.
"Hey Bruce!" Dick called out, his voice echoing through the cavernous space.
You froze, your eyes widening with horror. Oh no, they weren't actually going to do this.
Bruce looked up from his chair, the bat-computer screens flickering in the background casting shadows on his face, making him look more like the Dark Knight than your loving husband. He studied you with a furrowed brow, his eyes searching for signs of distress. "What's this?" he asked, his voice deep.
The boys exchanged glances, their expressions a blend of excitement and trepidation. "We thought it was time," Dick began, a hint of a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth, "for her to get up close and personal with the man of the house."
Jason's arms remained wrapped around your shoulders, holding you in place. Your lips were pressed tightly together, a silent protest to the situation. You could feel the tension in your body, a fight or flight response ready to kick in at any moment. The room felt too small, the walls closing in on you.
"What's going on?" Batman repeated, his tone deep and commanding, which did absolutely nothing to soothe your racing heart. The intensity in his eyes, usually reserved for the criminals he faced, was now focused solely on you.
"We justâŠwe thought it would be good for her to get to know you, you know, the other side of you," Tim stammered, clearly nervous.
Your nose flared and your chest rose and fell rapidly as Batman took a step forward, his gaze unwavering. You could feel his eyes on you, analyzing, calculating. It was the same look he gave to criminals he had cornered in a dark alley, and it was terrifying.
"Darling?" he asked, his voice a low rumble.
Your eyes watered out of fear, the masked figure before you a stark reminder of the world you had married into. The mask that Batman donned every night was a symbol of the darkness he faced, a world you had only glimpsed from the safety of the manor. The reality was so much more intense than you had ever allowed yourself to imagine.
"It's okay," Dick said softly, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. "You're not in danger. He's just trying to help you."
But the words didn't penetrate the fear that had taken root in your chest. You realized, too late, that this was a mistake. A terrible, horrifying mistake. You allowed yourself to be talked into facing your fear, and now you were standing before the very embodiment of it. You felt like a moth drawn to a flame, unable to look away from the intimidating figure that was both your protector and your terror.
You let out a small, fearful whimper. The sound was barely audible over the hum of the Batcave's machinery, but the boys heard it, their expressions shifting from excitement to concern. "Oh no, what have we done?" Tim whispered to Dick.
As the tears began to fall, the boys' reactions were immediate. Dick's hand squeezed your shoulder tighter, his eyes filled with regret. "Hey, it's okay, we're sorry," he said, his voice genuine.
Jason took a step back, his arms falling to his sides. "Shit, we didn't mean to scare you like this," he says, his smugness replaced with a look of contrition.
Batman took a step closer, his hand reaching for the cowl that covered his head, he lifted the mask away, revealing his face. The stark contrast between the Batman and the man you knew and loved was jarring, but somehow, seeing his eyes, his real eyes, filled with warmth and love, made you feel a little less afraid.
"It's okay," Bruce said, his voice softer now, "I'm right here."
He took a step closer, his hand outstretched, his hands comes to your trembling arm. The warmth of his touch was reassuring, grounding you in reality amidst the chaos of your racing thoughts. He pulled you into his arms, and you buried your face in his chest, crying into the fabric of his Batsuit. The material was tough and unyielding, but the embrace was anything but. You could feel the tension in his muscles as he held you tightly, offering you the safety and comfort you desperately needed.
"I'm sorry," you managed to whisper between sobs. "I just can't do this."
Bruce's arms tightened around you, and he leaned down to kiss the top of your head. "It's okay," he murmured. "It's alright to be scared." His voice was soothing, the gentle rumble of it vibrating through his chest and into yours, providing a comfort that was as familiar as it was surprising in this alien environment.
He narrowed his eyes at the boys, his gaze stern as he took in their concerned expressions. With covering your ear, his voice gets low, dangerously low that he feared might scare you even more. "What were you thinking?" He whispers to them.
Dick, Jason, and Tim all looked at Bruce apologetically. "We just⊠we wanted to help," Dick said, his voice low. "We didn't mean to make it like this."
"Well, you've made your point," Bruce said, his voice firm but not unkind. He looked at the three of them over your head, his eyes speaking volumes of his disappointment. "We'll talk about this later. Leave."
The boys nodded, their heads drooping as they retreated up the stairs, the sound of their footsteps echoing through the cavernous space. Once they were gone, Bruce turned his full attention to you, gently lifting your chin so he could look into your eyes. "It's alright. I got you," he said, his thumb brushing away a tear that had escaped down your cheek. "I'm sorry they put you through this."
You took another shaky breath, trying to calm your racing heart. "I'm sorry for being such a big scaredy cat," you whispered, a fresh wave of tears threatening to spill over. "I'm afriad of my husband in a costume." Tears of embarrassment joined fear, making your eyes burn.
Bruce's expression softened further, his hand stroking your hair. "You're not a scaredy cat," he said firmly. "You're human. And it's okay to be scared sometimes."
He stepped back and gestured to the chair he had been sitting in. "Why don't you sit down?" he offered, his voice gentle. "Let's talk about this."
You nodded and took a tentative step toward the chair, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on your shoulders. As you sat, Bruce knelt down in front of you, his eyes never leaving yours. "You know I'd never do anything to hurt you, right?" he asked, his voice steady and calm.
You nodded again, sniffling. "I know," you said, your voice shaky. "But it's justâŠthe mask,"
"The mask is just a tool," Bruce said, his voice gentle. "It's just something I wear to keep the people I care about safe."
You took a deep, trembling breath and nodded, trying to convince yourself of the truth in his words. "I know that," you said, "but it's likeâŠit's a part of you that I've never really seen before."
Bruce's gaze was intense, his eyes searching yours for any sign of doubt. "And that scares you?"
You nodded, feeling the weight of the admission. "It's just soâŠintimidating. You're so powerful, so strong. It's like you're a different person when you wear it."
Bruce took a deep breath, his eyes searching yours. "Do you want to try it?" he asked, his voice tentative.
You blinked in surprise, pulling back slightly. "What?"
Bruce nodded towards the Batsuit, hanging ominously on the mannequin nearby. "Do you want to try on the cowl?" he clarified, his voice still gentle. "Maybe it will help you understand, or at least face your fear."
You stared at the mask, the symbol of the man who had sworn to protect Gotham. Your heart was still racing, but curiosity began to edge out the fear. "I don't know," you murmured, your voice barely a whisper.
"You don't have to," Bruce said, his voice soothing. "But if you want to, I'll be right here."
You took a deep breath, your eyes locked on the cowl. It was an eerie sight, a stark reminder of the fearsome figure he transformed into when the night called. But it was also a symbol of hope, of the man who had sworn to keep the city safe. With a trembling exhale you nod.
Bruce carefully lifted the mask from the mannequin's head and held it out to you. It was surprisingly light, the fabric cool against your skin as you took it from him.
"Just hold it for a minute," he said, his eyes never leaving yours. You took the cowl, feeling the weight of the material in your hands. The symbol of the bat was stark against the black, the pointed ears standing tall and ominous.
You studied it, your heart racing, and took a deep breath. "Did you know I had a thought to not put the ears on it?" Bruce asked, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. You looked up at him, puzzled. "When I first started out," he explained, "I thought maybe it was going to make me look ridiculous."
The thought made you smile despite yourself. The idea of Bruce Wayne, billionaire playboy and the man you loved, worrying about looking ridiculous was almost endearing. "But it worked," you said, your voice still a little shaky.
"It did," he agreed, his smile widening slightly. "But it's a reminder that even the biggest fears can be conquered. Sometimes, all it takes is a change in perspective."
With trembling hands, you slowly lifted the cowl to your face, the cool fabric brushing against your cheeks. You felt his hands gently guide it into place, the softness of the material surprising you. The room went dark, before returning once the eye holes aligned with your sight. Your breathing hitched as you felt the mask settle around your head, the weight of the iconic symbol suddenly resting on your shoulders.
"How do I look?" you managed to ask, your voice muffled by the cowl.
"Just like you," Bruce said, his voice thick with emotion. "But with a touch of badass."
You couldn't help but chuckle at his words, despite the fear still bubbling in your stomach. The mask was surprisingly comfortable, the material molding to your face as if it had been made just for you. The room looked the same, but through the eyes of the cowl, it feltâŠdifferent. More intimidating, yet strangely empowering.
You took a deep breath, feeling the material shift with you as you inhaled. It was eerily quiet, the muffled sounds of the Batcave around you making the room feel even more vast. You looked down at Bruce, who was still kneeling before you, his eyes searching yours, looking for any sign of distress.
"Do you want me to take it off?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.
You shook your head, surprised by your own determination. "No," you said. "It'sâŠinteresting."
Bruce chuckled, a sound that seemed to resonate through the cave. "Does it help that I think you look adorable?" he asked, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "The ears look more like a rabbit's than a bat's."
You couldn't help but laugh, the tension in the room dissipating slightly. "Thanks," you smile. "I'll be sure to strike fear into the hearts of Gotham's criminals with my bunny-like prowess."
Bruce's chuckle grew into a full-blown laugh, and you felt some of your own fear subside. You reached up to adjust the mask, the gesture feeling surprisingly natural. "I guess it's not so scary now that it's on me," you admitted, a hint of wonder in your voice.
Bruce's eyes lit up with understanding. "It's all about perspective," he said, his voice gentle.
You took another deep breath, feeling the mask mold to the contours of your face. It was still a bit suffocating, but with each breath, it became a little more comfortable.
"Do you think you're ready to try again?" Bruce asked, his voice steady and reassuring. "With me wearing the cowl?"
You took a moment to consider it, the weight of the decision heavy on your shoulders. You knew he wouldn't push you, but the look in his eyes, a mix of hope and understanding, made you want to try. You nodded slowly, your heart hammering in your chest. "Okay," you whispered.
Bruce took the mask from you, his movements deliberate and gentle. "I'll put it on slowly," he said, "so you can get used to the feeling. But if you get to scared, just tell me and I'll take it off."
You nodded, watching as he placed the cowl back on his head, his eyes meeting yours as he aligned the eyeholes. The mask only covered the top half of his face, leaving the bottom half exposed. It was a strange sight, seeing Bruce with one half of his face hidden in the shadows of the bat, the other half open and vulnerable.
"How do I look?" he asked, his voice slightly muffled since only half his head was though.
You couldn't help but laugh, the sight was so absurd. "Not scary," you said, a smile on your lips that felt surprisingly genuine, warming Bruce's heart. "Just⊠really, really weird."
Bruce chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I suppose it's not everyone's cup of tea," he said, "But how do you feel?"
You took a moment to gather your thoughts. The mask was definitely a bit much, but with Bruce's kind eyes looking back at you, it was less terrifying and moreâŠodd. "I can handle it," you said, trying to sound braver than you felt.
Bruce nodded, his eyes still on yours as he lifted the cowl completely over his head. The transformation was instantaneous. The gentle, loving husband was replaced by the imposing figure of the Dark Knight. Your heart raced as he kneeled before you, the mask hiding his features but not the concern in his posture.
"Knock knock," Bruce said suddenly.
You blinked, realizing he was waiting for your response. You managed a small laugh. "Who's there?"
"Waddle," Bruce's voice was hiding a smile.
You frowned, not quite understanding the joke. "Waddle who?"
Bruce's chuckle, but the twinkle in his eyes was unmistakable. "Waddle it take for you to open the door?"
You couldn't help but smile at the corny joke, the tension in the room easing just a bit. "Very funny, Mr. Wayne," you said, trying to keep your voice steady.
Bruce stood up, the Batsuit seeming to swallow him whole. He towered over you, the mask now fully in place. You took a deep breath, trying to remind yourself that it was still Bruce under there, that he wasn't going to harm you.
"I can take it off if want me to," he said, his voice now a low rumble. The sound was unmistakable, the same one that had sent so many criminals fleeing in terror. But here, in the quiet of the Batcave, it was almostâŠcomforting.
You swallowed hard, taking another deep breath. "No," you said, your voice stronger than before. "It's alright."
Bruce took your hand in his, the touch sending a warm sensation through your trembling fingers. "I'm very proud of you," he said, his voice a comforting rumble. "You're doing really good."
You nodded, trying to believe him. The mask was still a daunting presence, but with each second that passed, it became less terrifying and more⊠familiar. You took a tentative step closer, looking up into the shadowy eyes of the cowl. "It's just a mask," you murmured, trying to convince yourself.
"Tell me when," Bruce said, his voice a low rumble that seemed to resonate in the very air around you.
You took a deep breath and nodded, your heart racing. "Could you" you began, your voice trailing off as you searched for the right words.
Without another word, Bruce reached up and began to lift the cowl off his head, revealing his face inch by inch. The shadows danced across his features, the stark contrast between the darkness of the mask and the warmth of his skin making your breath hitch in your throat.
As the mask came away, you could see the concern in his eyes, the furrow in his brow smoothing out as he searched yours for any sign of fear. But there was something else there, too. Pride. You had faced your fear, even if just for a moment.
"Are you okay?" he asked again, his hand still holding the cowl.
You nodded, the reality of the situation setting in. You had just faced the symbol of your fear and lived to tell the tale. "Yeah," you said, your voice a little more steady, "I think so."
Bruce's grip on your hand tightened slightly, his thumb tracing gentle circles on the back of your palm. "You did really good," he repeated, his voice a warm rumble of approval. It was strange to hear such gentle words coming from the man you knew as the Dark Knight. But here, in the dimly lit confines of the Batcave, the mask had become less a barrier and more a bridge between the two of you.
You took a moment to collect yourself, feeling the adrenaline slowly seep away. "Thank you," you murmured, your voice still a little shaky. "I'm sorry I couldn't⊠go longer."
Bruce's grip on your hand tightened reassuringly. "It's okay," he said, his voice gentle. "This isn't something you can just rush." He stepped closer, the warmth of his body a stark contrast to the coldness of the cowl. "But you took the first step. That's all that matters."
You looked up into his eyes, the blue of his gaze piercing through the fear that had clouded them moments before. "I justâŠI didn't know it would be so hard," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
"It's not supposed to be easy," Bruce said, his thumb still tracing circles on your palm. "But you did it. And that's all that matters."
You nodded, feeling a swell of emotion in your chest. "Thank you," you murmured, the words feeling inadequate for the gratitude you felt. "For understanding."
Without another word, Bruce pulled you into his arms, enveloping you in a warm, strong hug. The smell of the Batsuit, a mix of leather and something faintly metallic, washed over you. But it was his arms around you, the steady beat of his heart, that made you feel safe.
He kissed the side of your head. It was a gentle, reassuring gesture that spoke volumes. "That's what I'm here for," he murmured, his voice a soothing rumble in your ear.

complicated â hamzahthefantastic
3. brown eyes at the entrance
contains: goofy drunk hamzah, quick mention of sex but no actual nsfw content in this one
summary: what do you do when your ex shows up at your front doorstep?
a/n: short but i just wanted to post hi
last part: with you all night
you left hamzahâs apartment that morning feeling more confused than ever. you two ate breakfast together and then you were out the door. he hadnât even asked to hangout again or talked about breaking the whole âno contactâ thing. he simply said he enjoyed the night with you and told you to have a good day.
how could he spend such an intimate night with you and not ask to see you again?
as hard as it was, you tried to be nonchalant about the situation. you could hook up with your ex in a casual way, right?
you call mandy, practically begging her to meet you for coffee.
now you were at your local cafe, anxiously walking up to the table you spotted mandy at.
ây/n! hey!â she said excitedly. you can almost see her eyes analyzing your facial expressions as you walk up to her. âso whatâs up? you look like youâve got something to tell me.â
âoh, itâs definitely..something.â you laugh nervously, âi uh, ended up talking to hamzah last nightâŠâ
âoh thatâs great!â she interrupts, âdid you get any sort of closure?â
âyeah, about thatâŠi actually ended up going back to his place..â
she sighs at your confession.
âand we had sex but listen! i know that it was probably a bad idea but being around him again- it like made my brain go all fuzzy and all common sense went out the window.â you ramble, trying to defend yourself.
ây/n, i told you to go out on the balcony to get closure, not to hookup with him!â, she shakes her head at you. âbut i get it. you guys have history, youâre comfortable with him. itâs easy to go back in that situation.â
âexactly! it was so comfortable! it felt like how things used to be. so now, iâm all confused because i thought i had finally gotten over him. and thereâs matthewâŠâ
âthe guy you said was boring?â she questions.
âhe is a bit boring but heâs nice- stable.â
âbut what are you gonna do now? keep seeing him?â
âugh, i donât know. i guess i should end things with him- because clearly i have not moved on from hamzah yet.â
she nods slowly, deep in thought. âyou think youâll get back with hamzah again?â
âi donât know,â you let out a harsh breath. âsometimes i think that maybe if we tried again, things would be different. like weâd be able to figure it out this time.â
she smiles softly.
âbut today, he didnât ask to meet again or ask how he could contact me or anything so i donât even know if he wants to try again.â you shrug your shoulders.
âhonestly, y/n, you might want to figure that out before cutting things off with matthew.â
she was right. you didnât want to ruin a good thing simply for the possibility of getting back with your ex.
after another thirty minutes of catching up over coffee, she reminds you to keep her updated before the two of you part ways.
as you start driving home, your phone rings.
*incoming call: matthew*
âhey babe, you never texted me when you got home?â he questioned, his voice concerned.
you let out a soft sigh, âyeah, sorry- i went to sleep right when i got home.â
âyou feeling better today?â
âyeah, yeah i think i just had a migraine or something.â
âgood! i was actually wondering if you wanted to get dinner tonight?â his voice is hopeful.
he was kind and cute and he knew what he wanted. how could you say no?
âsure! were you gonna pick me up on the way or should i meet you somewhere?â you ask, a soft smile creeping on your face.
âiâll pick you up at six. oh- and wear something fancy! i wanna take you to a nice place.â
you agree and say your goodbyes. you were excited to get dressed up and be taken out. you hoped that this dinner would change things- show you how interesting and exciting matthew really is, helping you move on from the chaos of hamzah.
âŠ
the restaurant matthew had chosen was beautiful. the warm candlelight and low jazz music playing in the background creating such a romantic atmosphere.
he sat across from you, retelling a story about a hike he had went on.
you could tell he was making an effort. telling you this story with you in an attempt to share something meaningful with you. feel closer to you.
but as he kept talking, your mind kept slipping into memories with hamzah. you thought of how beautiful his face looked when illuminated by candlelight. the way his smile had always been on the edge of a smirk.
hamzah knew exactly how to pull you into each of his stories. he entertained you effortlessly. just one of his jokes could leave you clutching your stomach in laughter.
âand then i was there, completely lost.â he chuckles slightly as he ends his story.
âoh my god, that mustâve been so scary.â you reply, doing your best to give him energy.
he smiled softly as he looked into your eyes. âthatâs what iâve always loved about hiking though- you never know what adventureâs around the corner.â
âyeah.â you respond, smiling sweetly while all you can think about is how hamzah wouldâve made fun of that corny line.
âyou okay? you seem distracted.â matthew said, watching you as he took a bite of his steak.
âoh! yeah iâm fine, i just had a long day.â you explain, telling yet another lie.
âi get it.â he smiles, âno worries.â
god, did he have to be so kind and patient? itâd make you feel much less guilty if he was a complete asshole.
no, he was everything you should want. he was sweet, understanding, and so open with you.
but there was no allure. no mystery. no edge. all of the surface-level conversation you two were having was driving you absolutely insane.
âwell, i actually had something to ask you.â he broke the silence.
you look up at him, nervously waiting for him to continue.
âiâm going on a trip to seattle next week. itâs completely covered by my job and i have a plus one. i know itâs a bit last minute but i wanted to know if youâd like to join me?â
traveling together would change this âcasual dating thingâ, into something more serious. something you were definitely not ready for. not yet.
you clear your throat to speak, âcan i uh- think about it? it sounds super fun, i just have a lot of school work and stuffâŠâ
he nods. âyeah, just let me know whenever you decide.â
âthank you.â you smile.
after finishing dinner, he drives you back home. he thanks you for the night, explaining what a great time he had with you.
he walks you to the front of your apartment complex and presses a gentle peck to your lips before telling you goodnight.
as you ride the elevator up to your apartment, you decide that you have to end things with matthew. you couldnât go on that trip with him and lead him on any more than you already have. it was unfair of you to be constantly comparing him to hamzah. the truth was that there nothing wrong with him at all- you were the only person to blame in this situation.
you look up as you start walking toward your apartment to see hamzah leaned up against the wall next to your front door. his head tilted back, eyes closed- simply waiting.
âhamzah? what are you doing here?â you say, your voice coated in shock.
his eyes are low. a goofy smile plastered on his face. he was either drunk or high, or both.
âyou look pretty.â you can practically hear his smirk.
you stand directly in front of him. âare you drunk?â you ask as you cross your arms in front of your chest.
âa little bitâ, he laughs. âand maybe a little bit high but listen- i just wanted to see you.â
âoh and this couldnât wait until you were, i donât know, lessâŠdrunk?â
he shrugged, âbut you were out with ânew guyâ, whatâs his name?â
âmatthew.â you roll your eyes at him. âhowâd you know i was out with him anyway?â
âmandy mightâve mentioned that you texted her about it.â he grins, âi think watching paint dry might be more exciting than going on a date with that guy. i couldnât let you go home and just be with that kind ofâŠenergy.â
you bit your lip, trying not to laugh. âhamzah, you canât just show up at my door every time you think i should be around better âenergy.â
âoh i canâ, he shoots back at you. âitâs actually one of my best skills- showing up uninvited and reminding you of how fun i am.â
âyouâre unbelievable.â you laugh, already feeling defeated by his charm.
âand yetâ, he pauses. âhere you are, laughing. iâve still got it.â a cocky grin creeps on his face. you canât help but laugh.
âyouâre so full of yourself.â you shake you head, smiling.
âi just feel confident around you, thatâs all.â
âoh really?â you tilt your head to the side.
âcâmon, y/n. tell me the truth- was he as funny as me?â
âno.â you admit, rolling your eyes.
âas charming?â he pushes.
âalso, no.â you answer.
âthen what are we doing here?â he lifts his hands up dramatically. âwhy are you spending your night with boring olâ matthew when you couldâve had all this?â he gestures to himself, that goofy smile of his still lingering on his face.
âhamzah. you are being ridiculous.â you reiterate.
âdid you mean ridiculous-ly hot and sexy or?â he canât help but laugh at his own joke.
you shake your head and roll your eyes once again, still unable to contain the smile that seemed stuck on your face.
âyou are impossible to argue with.â you tell him.
âis that a yes to me coming in?â he asks, a hopeful look in his eyes. âplease? iâll just sleep on the couch or even, the floor. whatever you want me to do.â
âyou came here to sleep on my couch?â
âi just want to be around you.â he whined.
how could you say no to those brown puppy-dog eyes of his? and you couldnât send him home drunk- that wasnât safe. you just had to let him in.
âfine. get inside before i change my mind.â you tease as you unlock your front door.
the second you two get inside, he walks over to the couch, flopping onto it and stretching out with a smug look on his face. âsee? look how harmless i am?â
âmhm, very harmless.â you say as you grab a blanket.
you start tucking him in with the fluffy blanket until he grabs your hand, looking into your eyes. âthank you for letting me in.â
âyeah, well youâre just lucky iâm too tired to kick you out.â you joke.
âyeah, lucky.â he repeats, his voice soft as his thumb rubs your hand softly.
just from the way his gentle touch and low voice had such an effect on you, you knew you were in trouble all over again.

Everyone's always telling Buck what he should do. Okay, sometimes he did ask for their advice, but every piece of advice he's followed through on lately has ended badly and everything they tell him to do he doesn't actually want to do.
He should want to do something if it's supposed to make him feel better, if it's supposed to be better for him, right?
Josh told him to bulldoze ahead and tell Tommy what he wanted. Tommy told him to re-enact his Buck 1.0 days and spend time with some indeterminate amount of people until he finds someone forever. Maddie and Chim told him to start dating again and also wait for the universe to bring him someone special; another someone. Hen and Eddie told him not to contact Tommy.
He doesn't want to do any of that! He wants to talk to Tommy, to see him, to get Tommy to talk to him instead of giving up on them and running away because he's scared. He wants to tell Tommy he loves him. He wants Tommy to know first and last aren't mutually exclusive. He wants to yell at Tommy, and kiss him, and hold him. He wants Tommy to apologise for breaking his heart and for being a dumbass. He wants Tommy to believe him when he says he won't do the same; well, he might be a dumbass sometimes - but he would never break Tommyâs heart. He wants to apologise for jumping ahead but also not have to apologise for wanting a life with Tommy or for being too much.
Since that first night Tommy kissed him, he's felt reborn. Not in some starry-eyed way that Tommy seems to think is fake and won't last, but in the way that he's shed the skin of past Buck upgrades and finally grown into his body, become comfortable in who he is instead of trying to fit a facade that other people would accept. Always too big, too much, not enough, never content to just sit in his self and be without his worries and insecurities moulding him into something else, something with a better chance of getting people to like him, love him, stay with him.Â
Heâs never felt more himself or more at ease in a relationship that meant something to him than he did with Tommy. Never felt more wholly seen - the good, the bad, and the too-much and not enough - by his partner and adored anyway, wanted anyway.
Halfway through making swiss meringue buttercream instead of breakfast, he realises he's thinking about Tommy. His coping skill, as Bobby called it, has stopped working.
There's butter and sugar in the creases of his hands and nailbeds even after he hurriedly wipes them with the dishcloth over his shoulder. He can see it as he scoops up his phone from the charger and thumbs over to his message thread with Tommy, leaving greasy crumby residue on the screen.
i saw you bubbling
After it happened, after the Chief distracted everyone enough for him to grab his phone and retreat somewhere he wouldn't be disturbed, he'd stared at the space where the unsent message had appeared for twenty minutes waiting for the type bubble to reappear. Waiting for Tommy to hit send on whatever he'd backtyped.
Buck's mind had spiralled with all the possibilities and while it spiralled and he stared and waited he never got around to actually calling or texting Tommy himself. And then the bell rang.
He has time, now. He has things he wants to say.
you were going to tell me something an maybe i wont like what it was but just knowing you almost reached out is kinda driving me crazy bc i have a fridge full of baked goods bc everytime i think about calling you i bake and now i havnt cooked a proper meal in my own place in over a week bc i dont have room in my damn fridge to store anything besides chocholate chip bananan bread and baked alaskas
He wants to say: and it's all your fault! but that's not the whole truth. Buck played his part in this, set the wheels in motion that drove Tommy away from him. But how the hell was he supposed to know that? And Tommy should've known by now he doesn't really do 'slow'.
i'm not sorry for being too much bc i shouldnt haveto apologize for being myself
Screw it. Can't get any worse, right? Tommy's getting all of him whether he likes it or not.
i dont see you as some queer life coach or someone to fill space until someon else comes along
thats not who i am
i thought you knew me better than that but whatevr ig
i wanted to live with you bc i want a life with you bc i love you
i love you
i shouldve said that first
Send after send, typing like a man possessed, he gets out everything that's been pent up inside him since the shock wore off a week ago.
His chest is heaving as the adrenaline rushes through his veins. And his eyes sting. He has to blink away tears as he reads over the last message.
He never told Tommy. Tommy doesn't know. Maybe Buck wasn't sure that night Josh asked him, but he knows it now.
i wanted you to be my last
He still does.
i wanna hate you for giving up on us
but i cant seem to hate you
This whole thing would hurt a lot less if he could just hate Tommy for what he did. It would hurt a lot less if they could find a way through this mess, together, and come out the other side stronger because they know each other better and know they want to fight for what they have.
Real love is worth fighting for. Red taught him that. Real love isnât found, itâs made. Old gay Thomas taught him that.
Well, Buck found Tommy. Or, the universe did. And heâs going to fight, dammit, because he wants to build a future with Tommy.Â
His vision has blurred with hot tears. Movement on his screen catches his attention from where his gaze had drifted over to the couch where Tommy had stayed to take care of him through his Billy Boils saga.
Tommy is bubbling him.
Buckâs heart lurches in his chest. His breath catches.
can we talk?
Thereâs a huff of something like manic laughter as he swipes at his snotty nose.
thatâs what i typed
Hope blooms in his chest, sudden and bright and painful in the best way. Â
can we?
I think I owe it to you to yell at me in person
Thereâs a long moment where Buck tries to return his breathing to normal but its bated as he watches three little dots appear, then disappear.Â
Then reappear.Â
Then disappear.
Then:
I donât want to give up on us either
Buckâs tears are still making his vision watery, but now theyâre tears of joy. He did what he wanted to do - he reached out. And Tommy heard him.
He should take his own advice more often.

Coworkers
FINALLY. I'm so sorry it took so long. All the chaos and junk really got the better of me. I hope y'all like this, I really tried. I can't wait to write more. Strade's Favorite Bartender will be next! đ NSFW MDNI
Youâd always had a certain fondness for Lawrence you supposed. He was always the quiet guy at work, hesitant to ever really speak or have attention be directed his way.Â
And it wasnât like youâd bulldozed into his life either.Â
It had started small, really. He was stronger than he looked and often you both shared shifts. Youâd asked him a few times if he could help you move some things, speed up the task and heâd always given a little nod and followed you to do so.Â
You wanted to bridge that gap, you bought some tea you kept in your locker, offering it to Lawrence on breaks. At first he just stared at you for a long moment before slowly giving a nod of his head, crystalline eyes directed anywhere but you. And then grabbing the sandwiches or other items from the corner Mart you saw him buy from time to time. You simply wanted Lawrence to feel appreciated in the warehouse. That you were grateful he helped you.
And it turned into routine after a little while.
Sharing breaks, eating together in the silence that was the wee hours of morning before the sun broke. Settled in the stale smelling break room or outside on the bench in the parking lot, side by side. You usually did most of the talking but from time to time, it was exciting to hear Lawrence talk. When he'd mention his plants, the most recent time he went on a trek through the park or on a hike, better was when heâd actually give you his opinion. Even if it was differing. If it werenât for the occasional stutter or stammer, youâd reckon to say heâd have a rich voice. Dulcet to you, if you dare say so.
You gave him your number, just in case you switched shifts at work or something came up of course! Though that didnât stop you from sending the occasional message asking how he was doing, or if you shared a shift a âhave a good night! Oops, I mean morning!â sort of text. You wanted to endear yourself to Lawrence.
And you had.
You wormed your way under his skin and into his heart like vines of twisting ivy, you made it hard for Lawrence to breathe around you sometimes. The saccharine scent about you that was so alien, so absolutely opposite of damp rot and soil heâd become accustomed to. You were the fragrant bulbs of flowers he tried to nurture and fight the impulse to cut. You were soft, you were succulent in a way Lawrence didnât understand like the occasional ones he had spotted around his apartment. Visions of you swam in his head at night in his bed, in the fog of his shower. Emboldened by the haze of burnt hash of a blunt that was discarded on the ashtray nearby. Lawrence wondered how you would feelâŠfrom the inside. How different you would feel from his hand. Water or lotion made do in a pinch when heâd fist himself to completion, more often than not he would grow frustrated after the clarity hit him.
âhuffâŠhuffâŠnnghâŠf-fuckâŠ(Name)...â Water cascades down Lawrenceâs pale body, head bowed with one hand braced against the cool tile wile the other hand stroked his weeping cock. You brushed up against him on more than one occasion today, he felt the soft warmth of your skin through your clothes, caught a peek of skin when youâd reach up high, Lawrence sworeâŠgoddamn it, he could hear the blood in your veins. Your hand brushed against his when you handed him a paper cup of some herbal tea youâd been so proud to prattle about hoping heâd like it. And heâd die before telling you that it was actually too sweet for his taste. But maybe that was you and your influence on the moment. Too sweet. His breathing grew ragged as his glacier eyes screwed shut, trying a slight twist of his wrist as Lawrence fisted his cock; reliving the encounters behind his eyelids.
The warm flush of your cheeks, he wondered how much blood could reach the apples of themâŠthe plush look of your lips that always curled into a little grin, what might they look like swollen from his own pressed to them or his teeth sinking into them? Would your heart hammer in your chest? Or would it be slow and calm? Would you let him touch you? Actually touch you? To crawl inside of you and feel your warmth from the inside, to break your ribs and truly be in your embrace until you were cold and still like he often felt. A grunt passed Lawrenceâs lips as he grappled with the thoughtsâ did he want that? NoâŠno, he didnât think he did. Lawrence wanted to savor you if he was ever presented the opportunity. Youâd feel different. You were different. His mind rewound and pulled forward like a video on a loop, searching for just the thing to focus on. That breathless face you made after exerting yourself, the way your breathing drew a little rough and you tried to chuckle through, the way your (color) eyes would look up at him so gratefully in a way only you ever looked at him.
âHhnghâŠhaahâŠ(N-Name)...â Lawrence choked your name from his throat as a shudder ripped down his spine, hips jerking erratically in a rhythm that grew sloppy before pearly, viscous cum splurted forward, coating his hand and dropping into the water to disappear down the drain. The smell of stale, foggy air and eucalyptus as the evidence of his mild perversion disappeared from sight. Maybe thatâs why it was always easier in the shower. His panting eventually subsided into just one heavy sigh, the heaviness left him and again the frustration followed.
It wasnât the same.
It wasnât you.
Maybe Lawrence was getting greedy. Not that he could ever act on it. It always made him seize up worse when you were just looking at him with those eyes of yours. So patient for whatever he may say or do. It was maddening that he let it get this far. That you somehow had sunk so deeply into him instead that keeping you was now a regular rotation in his fantasy. That fire fed and fanned by content he consumed on the internet. But there was always just a slight pause on maybe trying such on you. Maybe. Exhaling through his nose, Lawrence turns off the water and steps out of the shower. His brow is deep set in thought as he lazily towels off his pallid skin and blonde hair that falls over his shoulders limply still damp.
Dressing for bed, Lawrence dares to glance at his phone- he never gets notifications. Not really. Just from you. And today must be one of those nights that the stars just align, one message from you.
(Name): âHey!! I have some news tomorrow!â
Lawrenceâs brows furrow and lips press in a thin line, heâs not sure how to reply. If he should. But he wants to.
Lawrence: Okay.
Like most or any social interaction- not his best work. Not that you cared. It never stopped you at all or caught you off. Most might find him brusque and socially awkward, which wasnât untrue. Lawrence doesnât linger on the thoughts of what it could possibly be, it could be anything with you; infinitely more optimistic than himself. You found the silver linings in most things, took joy in the small victories or whathaveyou. Something he would possibly find overwhelming or even annoying but you seemed to broach him a way just so that it neverâŠfelt that way. Lawrence didnât want to keep you at an arms length like he had the first handful of shifts where heâd nearly tried to avoid you. And now he craved you. You were sunlight, warm and necessary. You were nourishment Lawrence didnât believe he needed. He was starved in ways that didnât make sense.
Tugging on old, worn sweatpants, Lawrence crawls into his bed and tries to settle in and stares at the ceiling for a while before his breathing lulls into sleep.Â
The next day, the next shift. Stars litter the sky and the moon hangs along them. The streets are mostly dead, the silent stillness of the parking lot of the warehouse is usually comforting but thereâs an odd looming sense regarding your news and Lawrence doesnât know why. Why his stomach turns and twists so strangely when he sees you eagerly wave him over as he pushes the heavy door open after a swipe from his employee badge.
âHey, Law!â you greet, warmly as ever- you were probably the only one who forced themself to adapt to the lifestyle of working this shift and still function. Or function better than most of the other workers here. Granted it made sense to Lawrence, it was what he preferred though it never showed.
Lawrence gives a low hum of acknowledgement you had grown accustomed to as you met him halfway to walk to the lockers together. âYouâŠmentioned you had newsâŠ?â After spinning the dial on his lock, those piercing baby blues turned to you, seeming to perk up at his voice addressing you.
You bite your lip in that way that makes him wish he could be one of your teeth. To feel the plush skin under pressure. Lawrence blinks before turning his focus back to your eyes. âYeah! Yeah, I finally got a grown up job, hehâŠâ You run a hand through your (length) (color) (type) hair, your grin faltering to something almost akin to nervousness or anxiety. Because all Lawrence can do is stare at you with a blank, unreadable expression. The silence hangs over heavy as you scuff your shoe on the floor.
â... you're quittingâŠ?â It feels like he's choking it out but if he did, you didn't seem to notice. And he's grateful for it.
âWell, yeah, I meanâŠI gave my two weeks. It's justâŠI can't work here forever. It doesn't pay enough and I'm not exactly cut out for it long term.â You admit with a little bob of your head, glancing around the warehouse stacked with pallets and equipment. And it was true if Lawrence was being honest, you weren't as strong to continue this sort of labor for long without it doing something to your musculature or God forbid your beautiful bones. It was bad enough when you bruised.
â...oh.â There's an odd sort of thrum in his chest he can't discern, a tension that settles tight in too many places for his liking. Your sharp eyes seem to snap to him at the monosyllabic reply and soften. That look. Not of pity, just soft.
âBut we can still text! Or meet up on off days! I'd like to check out that trail sometime, if you'd be down?â You're quick, so quick, to offer him the modicum of comfort. That you somehow, some way, want to be around him even when no longer coworkers. You were so odd. But it wasn't unwelcome. âBut uhâŠI was gonna throw a little party. At my place with people from our shift. If you wanted to come.â
Lawrence raises a brow at that, it isn't a ânoâ (it would be for anyone else)but it's more of that confusion. He didn't do parties. He didn't do other people. Crowded spaces. Not without some sort of necessity or incentive tied to it. His pause seems to make you fidget. âI know it's not your thing, so don't feel you have to or anything. But it would really nice to have you there.â You uplilt your word with that hopeful tone.
He shifts on his feet, his eyes unable to hold your gaze. Honestly? He doesn't want to. He really doesn't want to. Lawrence shifts on his feet a little as if still chewing all of the information over. He didn't like any of it. Most of all your leaving. Your absence would be felt so deeply. Lawrence felt like had something, had someone, even on the humdrum shifts you shared. Be it normalcy, warmth, Lawrence didn't know. But he wasn't about to let it go. Let you go. He couldnt. You might be vines constricting around him, but Lawrence could be all the thistles, barbs, and thorns in the world of it kept you ensnared to him.
Sometimes the stars just aligned like that.
âBut, like I said- I know it's notâŠâ
âI'll come.â
You blink up at Lawrence, surprise stark on your face for just a moment at his definitive tone. It lingers before your lips curl into a toothy grin making his heart thud against his ribs. âYeah? That's great. Really great.â You pull out your phone and tap on it few times before a buzzing comes from his pocket. âThat's my address, it starts at seven but y'knowâŠit's a party so show up whenever.â You shrug casually.
Lawrence glances to the side, racking his brain for a moment, thinking of what next, of what to do when he gets there- nevermind that it's days away. âAlright! Well, let's go kick this shift in the teeth!â You chime, clapping your hands together and wandering off to whatever task you were assigned and Lawrence slowly trailing after you.
ĂĂĂ
Relationships were complicated. People were complicated. WellâŠliving people were complicated anyway. For the briefest moment Lawrence thinks back to his family, people that meant little to him in the grand scheme of things but whether he liked it or not was part of his building blocks. At least a little.Which brought a vague memory of a muffled voice from childhood, âWe canât go to a dinner party empty handed.â A few hours before Lawrence decided he would make his appearance, he stopped at the liquor store on the corner to bring a bottle ofâŠfuck. What did you even like?? All you drank when you were together was whatever was at the vending machines, the convenience store, or tea. Lawrence stood near the door of the shop- bottles lined all over the shelves and walls. Advertisements of several brand plastered all over in bright colors or neons.
Augh.
Eventually Lawrence meanders over to the wine section, staring at the bottles blankly, drifting from label to label. White wine? Red wine? If you would even drink it. Dry? Semi? Sweet? It was alcohol for fuckâs sake, why did it have to be so complicated. With a shake of his head, frustration beginning to simmer in the pit of his stomach, Lawrence swipes a bottle of sweet red with a delicate looking label adorned in little gilded flowers. Maybe even if you didnât like it, you would think itâs pretty. Or maybe youâd think he was weird, like most other peopleâ noâŠno, that wasnât true. It was you. None of his antisocial tendencies seemed to deter you or bother you, opposite; youâd been nothing but accommodating and patient with Lawrence.
Keeping his head down, Lawrence shoves a few bills at the unbothered clerk who bothers to spare him a second glance before he begins the trek to where your apartment is supposed to be. Gingerly stepping through the building, Lawrence lingers in the hallway probably a beat longer than necessary before rapping his knuckles against the door. His palms are sweaty as he cradles the bottle of wine and waitsâŠand waitsâŠhe can hear the thrum of bass through the door, music playing paired with a few voicesâŠby the sound of it, not to many people (thankfully) or so he hoped. Just as he debated leaving and tossing away any hopeful ideations, the door is abruptly pulled open to reveal you. In more casual clothes. A warm flush blooms beautifully over your cheeks that has his breath hitch ever so slightly.
âLaw! Oh man, I was beginning to worry you werenât gonna show up!â You lilt, posture so much more relaxed andâŠoh. Lawrence spies the red plastic cup in your hand, of course. It was a party. People drank. He brought a bottle that heâd almost forgotten about seeing you the way you were. The drunk blush on your cheeks looked ever so enticing. âCâmon, câmon in!â You usher him in warmly and he can take in your apartment. Posters decorate the walls, well loved furniture, a small cozy kitchenâŠthat same sweetened perfume that was so uniquely you seemed to seep into the very walls. Lawrence shuffles inside, keeping his eyes down, only sparing glances to the other coworkers mingling around your place. Some chatting, some playing video games you had set up on your television, others bobbing a little to the music.
Lawrenceâs hands tighten around the bottle before looking up to you and awkwardly thrusting it towards you. âIâŠI didnât know what to bringâŠIf I should bring anything.â He admits, biting the inside of his cheek as you blink and accept it, looking it over.
âHuh? Thatâs real sweet of you, thanks Law! Wine, huh? Fancy. Iâve never really tried it.â You inspect it, but keep it carefully tucked in the crook of your arm, though before Lawrence can feel embarrassed about his actions you give a mischievous grin. âYouâll have to come over again and maybe try it with me, huh? Canât drink alone.â You chime warmly before disappearing only briefly to tuck it safely in the kitchen so nobody thinks to open it. Something for just the two of youâŠit ignites a spark of hope that he allows himself to buoy on for comfort now that heâs vastly out of his element. You poke your head out of the kitchen, âYou want something to drink? I can mix you something or uhâŠIâve got water, soda, juiceâŠâ Lawrence takes the opportunity to follow you and the variety of beverages and snacks.Â
Opting for water, Lawrence takes up post along one of your walls, simply watching you and everyone else. Time ticks on as his hands worry the label of the water bottle to shreds. The music feels too loud, he can feel the bass in his bones. Nobody but you really wants to talk to him, heâs spared a nod of acknowledgement or a brief greeting but nothing more- if anything people seem surprised to see him here at all. Lawrence swallows thickly and glances to the clock and moves to stand up and you seemingly appear out of nowhere. Your eyes seem to trace over his features, lingering on his face for a beat before you do that wonderful thing you do. Soften up. Relax. âHey...I know this isnât really your scene. It can probably be a lot huh? HereâŠmy room is quieter, you can chill there for a bit maybe? Kinda decompress? I reallyâŠhahâŠI really donât want you to go yetâŠif thatâs okay?â The alcohol has you emboldened, your lips a little looser, your thoughts more apt to slip between them.
And a strange warmth is surging through his veins, he feels it in his own cheeks, feels his fingers twitch slightly before Lawrence finds himself nodding. Your hand slips in his smoothly, gently- and heâs tempted to flinch but instead he squeezes, carefully. True to your words, your room is notably quieter than the living room, the length of hallway giving a decent berth. You settle on your bed with a dramatic sigh and Lawrence almost shyly sits beside you, hands in his lap. â...Iâm glad you came.â You admit as you fall onto your back on your duvet and tilt your head to look up at him. âIs it greedy I wanted to keep you a little longer? Just to myself?â
Itâs not greedy.
Youâre not greedy.
Youâre perfect.
Lawrence swallows thickly, your words reverberating in his skull, echoing his same thoughts. You wanted what he wanted. He could only hope anyway but you said what he was thinking aloud. You made it real. You were real. âN-No..No I donât think that about you.â Lawrence manages to mutter out and it makes that smile grow wider on your lips. Your hand reaches for his again, delicately, as your fingers trace his knuckles.Â
âWe could hangout more often, yâknow. I meant it when I said I still wanted to see you even after Iâm outta there.â
He doesnât know what to say. Nobodyâs ever wanted to hang out around him, much less. Well beside that one friend he made online who seemed down to maybe talk in person. But they werenât you. Nobody compared to you. The silence hangs for a moment but in the soft lighting of your room, your eyes roam over his face again before you push yourself to sit up again, shuffling a little closer to him that Lawrence can feel the warmth of your body next to his. â...is it okay if IâŠâ You dip your head slightly, lashes fluttering to make a point of looking down at his lips before meeting his gaze again. Just barely, Lawrence shakes his head before you give a breathy little chuckle and press your lips to his, a hand raising to cradle his jawline. The light stubble there is felt against the soft, smooth skin of your palm. Your lips are plush and sweetened by whatever alcohol youâd been drinking before, slightly sticky and sweet that Lawrence savors before clumsily kissing you back. Pushing back against you perhaps with an eagerness you hadnât anticipated that draws a soft sound from your throat. Lawrence swallows down your groan, wanting more, feel you more, taste you more, feel all that livelihood that seems to emanate from you.
The kiss grows, heat building as your arms string around his neck and hands tangle in his blonde hair as it falls messily from its elastic. Lawrence leans, arms circling around your waist, a soft grunt muffled against your lips as he dares to deepen the kiss, tongue tracing your lower lip before being granted. Being able to explore inside of your mouth before pressing you down into the mattress. He can feel every breath you take, the expanding and compression of your chest, the way your heart thrums against your chest- Lawrence swears he can hear your heartbeat. Or maybe itâs his own pounding in his hears. It doesnât matter. It doesnât matter. All that matters is more. More.Â
And you seem of the same mind. Your hands drift down to his hoodie, moving to push it off his shoulders and Lawrence awkwardly shrugs out of it, loathe to part from your lips even to breathe. With you on your back, his hands take the opportunity to roam, albeit shakily. Taking in every curve, noting the muscle and fat on your body- soft under his larger hands and so very warm. Lawrence could get lost in you endlessly. He wanted to. Parting only for a moment, his breathing ragged, you seem to waste no time as you greedily take in air while yanking your shirt up and over your head and reaching for the buttons of his plaid shirt. It isnât long between the two of you, clumsy hands- some from alcohol and others from lack of real heated experience, before clothes are strewn over your floor and you and Lawrence are a tangle of limbs on your bed. His body cages you in, body anchored to you as he savors each sensation, each beautiful sound heâs able to pull from your lips, feeling the way your body moves and the way it works against his own. Lawrence reminds himself to be affectionate, what he was taught affection is supposed to look like through media consumption anyway, though with you itâs easier. Itâs so lovely to kiss along your neck, feel you gasp and shudder, to feel your pulse flutter under his lips. â...feelsâŠfuckâŠso goodâŠâ he groans lowly against your skin.
Lawrence can almost picture the expression on your face as you give a chime of laughter and dare to roll your hips against his own, feeling his erection straining against the cotton of his boxers in a very obvious tent. âIt can feel betterâŠI can make you feel betterâŠâ You croon softly and thatâs the snap that breaks him. Pulling away so abruptly you look up at him owlishly, he shoves his boxers down his pale thighs, impulse and need overriding most if not all thought in this moment. The desperation that burned through Lawrence to feel you from the inside. You lift your hips accordingly as he paws at your underwear before they slip down your legs and carelessly discarded with everything else. Bare before each other, thereâs the briefest moment between the way the two of you have been interlocked, drinking the other one in. Before Lawrenceâs hands grip the meat of your hips and tugs you closer with a strength you usually thought was reserved for the warehouse, not that you minded. The feeling of his fingers digging into your skin, you certainly wouldnât mind a little bruising if not more come morning.
âJustâŠJust stay stillâŠJust let meâŠâ He pants, his eyes clouded and glazed over, transfixed as he mumbles almost to himself and you arch your back just so to give him a better angle as one hand releases you to line his aching cock up to your sweet entrance.First he notches the bulbous head in and groans, chest heaving with every breath as you bite your lip with a soft whine- spurning him on, urging him to just push. And so he does, inch by inch, Lawrence spears you on his length and his eyes threaten to roll back into his skull. You feel divine; tight, wet, impossibly warm around him as you clench like a vice that his his hips already stutter the first time within you. Sweat already begins to bead his forehead as Lawrenceâs jaw clenches- as tempting as it is, he couldnât bear the embarrassment if he came undone within you so quickly.Â
You keen below him, hushed little murmur of, âPleaseâŠfuck, LawâŠneed you, please.â While resting your hands on his shoulders with a little squeeze, you donât mean to rush him, really you donât- but youâd wanted this, thought about this, more times than you cared to count. And with a little liquid courage in your veins, you finally fucking had it. Had him.
And surely, he begins to rock his hips. The push and pull between you growing as Lawrence begins to rut within you, rhythm building and pressure mounting as you buck your hips in kind, pushing him deeper until his cockhead nudged against that delicious spot within you that made your lashes flutter and moans spill from your lips. Ordinarily, Lawrence wasnât one for much noise- but the music muffled anything beyond your door and these sounds were for him and him alone. Shouldering your legs over his shoulders, Lawrence picks up his pace and his hips snap against you, heavy balls wetly slapping against your ass that has you squeak until you relax some in his grip. It leaves you helpless, putty as he fucks you into the mattress with reckless abandon now- your headboard knocking against the wall with each brutal thrust as he moans and grunts above you. While the sight of your is ever enticing, something Lawrence wants to burn into the folds of his brain, the need to feel close to you wins as he hunches over, nearly folding you in two. Hands bracing on the bed as he buries his face in the crux of your neck and shoulder as he kisses along the skin, breathing hotly into your ear as he continues to pump his cock into you. â...closeâŠsoâŠneed to feel youâŠso warmâŠso fucking goodâŠâ Lawrence babbles to you, drunk on the euphoria as he feels pleasure coil hot in his stomach, on the brink.
So close.
So close.
So close.
âL-LawâŠâm notâŠa-ah, oh fuckâŠ!â You gasp and choke on your words as youâre pinned below him, bliss drawn over your flushed features as your brain struggles to send words to your mouth, â...âm not gonna last...just like that, like thatâŠ!â You encourage as he surges with renewed vigor. Lawrence wants, no, needs to feel you come undone around. What you feel like when overcome with pleasure, what you look like, all of it. He grits his teeth before finding better use for his mouth, latching onto your throat to suckle a deep mottled mark into your skin that has you nearly scream into the room before he claps a hand over your lips to muffle it as he feels you contract around him. Convulsing, throbbing, spasming all around him in a way that Lawrence shuddering as his engorged cock finally empties itself within you, the excess forming a creamy ring around the base of his shaft and dripping down the plush swell of your ass onto the duvet. Ragged huffs fan over the hickey now left into your skin as Lawrence gives a few more languid, shallow strokes to enjoy the lingering feeling of you tightly wrapped around him as you try to catch your breath with a few low sounds of complacency. Sated, Lawrence almost begrudgingly lowers your legs carefully and his piercing eyes look up at you- trying to gage if you might be disappointed or upset, but instead is met with a bleary, satisfied smile and a breathy chuckle.
â...fuck, Law. I knew you had in you.â You mutter playfully before resting your arm over your sweaty forehead and Lawrence can feel his lips quirk ever so slightly. Something akin to pride settling in him slightly, but he remains knelt between your legs as a silence settles over the pair of you and you raise your arm to peek at him. Wordlessly, you pat shift and shuffle, peeling back the blankets and patting the spot next to you.
âButâŠyour partyâŠ?â
âIâm pretty sure people heard and Iâm pretty sure they didnât. Whatâre they gonna do? Rob me? I donât have shit.â You chuckle, though Lawrence seems to give pause and glance to the door. His reluctance seems to sober you some as you sit up slightly. âUhâŠunless you wanted to go.â You try to keep your tone steady not to betray the tinge of hurt that creeps in all the same.
âNoâŠ! No, thatâs not what I wantâŠuhmâŠâ Lawrence awkwardly scoots off your bed and grabs his boxers to tug on padding to your door and opening it a crack, peeking and listening for any other life in your apartment. The music had since stopped and it was still silence. With the knowledge your apartment is now empty, Lawrence locks your door for you before returning into bed and you just smile. The simplest thing, as if this was normal. Maybe it was, Lawrence sure as fuck didnât know what that was, but this was nice. This was beautiful. You were beautiful.
Slowly, he moves to the other side of the bed and slides in beside you. Lawrence has not slept next to another person, honestly it was never something he thought he would like but it feels like itâs both what you want and what is expected. And frankly- it could be worse. â...Can IâŠ?â He shuffles under the blankets, swathed in your detergent and perfume, his frame shifts over yours and his head presses to your chest where he can hear the steady beat of your heart. The intrusive thought rings in through his head that he could have it, have that piece of you forever. Sealing this moment forever between the two of you...but he pushes it to the back of his head. No, another part of him didnât want that- as tempting as it may be. If he took that part of you, this wouldnât be possible. And Lawrence wanted this, whatever this may be, and more of it. More of you. Sex. Intimacy. The touch and warmth of another living being. It was odd, it was still something Lawrence was trying to make sense of. A way that this could remain but you might still be wholly his. All his. Only his.
Lawrenceâs reverie is broken only by your arms encircling him and hugging him close to you, one hand carding through his hair to keep his head pressed to your chest as you hum in contentment. âNight, Law.â You mutter with an affectionate kiss to his head as you reach an arm out to turn off your lamp and succumb to sleep. Lawrence lingered awake a while longer, his nocturnal nature something he was grateful for as he relished in the soft breaths while you slept, how your heart slows, the sweet silence as he curls around your body and eventually, an hour or so after observing you, Lawrence sleeps as well.
Eventually sunlight dapples through your blinds, making Lawrence crinkle his nose slightly- he wasnât accustomed to this. Not that he slept poorly necessarily, but it would take a day or so to get his circadian rhythm back. But it hadnât been a waste as you groggily rouse beside him with a sleepy smile. â...Hey.â You greet warmly, throat still raspy from sleep as you push some of his bangs from his face. âYou sleep okay?â Lawrence nods slowly, drinking in this vulnerable vision of you as you yawn and roll to look at him on your pillow. âYou want breakfast or something?â You offer up with that languid smile and something akin to adoration lingering in your eyes, the afterglow looked all the more prepossessing on you. âI have some of that tea still that I brought you a few days ago.â
He pushes up to sit and chews his lip for a moment. Maybe a part of Lawrence had hoped. Had known. âUhâŠactually I, uhâŠI brought some tea for you. I can make us some.â He replies slowly, shifting his gaze to look at you, testing your reaction, if you would find it odd that he brought something besides the wine.
âAw! Yeah, Iâd love that.â You grin and sit up as well, moving to tug fresh underwear on and a large shirt, âYou know where the kitchen is, the kettle is on the stove. Iâm just gonna freshen up quick.â And with that you disappear into the bathroom while Lawrence prepares you his own specialty brew.Â

beach fight â part 5
warnings: not really any i think
pairing: rafe cameron x reader
part 1 â part 2 â part 3 â part 4 â part 5
*:ïŸâ§*:ïŸ
After the chaos on the beach and Rafeâs revelation that heâd been the reason Alex ghosted her, Y/N was furious. She felt betrayed, hurt, and done with Rafe Cameron. She couldnât believe how possessive and controlling heâd become, always tearing apart anyone who got close to her. That night, JJ was the one who stayed by her side, listening to her vent, offering the support she needed. Over the next few days, he kept her distracted from the mess that was Rafeâtaking her surfing, watching old movies, and going on long walks along the beach where theyâd talk about everything, life, dreams, and escape. JJ helped her through the anger, the sadness, and even the guilt she felt over her tangled feelings for Rafe. He became her escape.
Tonight, theyâd planned to let go of everythingâto drown out their emotions with laughter and liquor. y/n and JJ had taken the Twinkie for a quick run to the liquor store, their last stop before joining the others.
As they turned the last corner, there stood the one and only, Rafe Cameron, standing right in front of them with that same intense stare. Before she could pull back, JJ leaned in close, his breath tickling her ear as he whispered, âPlay along.â
Y/N shot him a curious glance, but his smirk told her all she needed to know. Wrapping his arm around her shoulders, JJ steered them down the aisle, and she leaned into his touch, letting herself laugh as he murmured random things to make her smile. They strolled right past Rafe, and she could feel his eyes like a searing brand on her skin. She bit back a smirk, feeling her pulse quicken as JJâs hand slid down to rest on her butt, almost on instinct.
Rafeâs jaw tightened, his fists clenched, and for a moment, it looked like he was about to say something, but instead, he just glared, simmering with barely contained anger. JJ caught his glare and decided to make it worse, resting his hand on her hip as he whispered something else that made Y/N giggle. She kept her expression cool, keeping her gaze averted from Rafeâs furious stare as they paid for their drinks and walked out.
Once outside, she thought they were finally free of him, but then came the familiar voice, tinged with desperation and anger. âY/N.â
She paused, rolling her eyes, and turned around with a sigh, JJ standing firmly at her side. âWhat?â
Rafe ignored JJ, his eyes fixed on her. âCan I talk to you for a sec?â
She crossed her arms, unimpressed. âNo.â
âY/N, please,â he pressed, voice softer this time, almost pleading. âJust hear me out.â
JJ looked at her, raising a brow as if to ask if she wanted him to intervene. She hesitated, a mix of curiosity and frustration bubbling up. Against her better judgment, she nodded for JJ to give them a minute. He shot Rafe a glare before stepping a few paces away, just close enough to intervene if he needed to.
âWhat do you want, Rafe?â she asked, voice sharp and cold.
Rafeâs gaze softened, regret visible in his expression. âI want to apologize, alright? I know I fucked up, fucked this up. All Iâve been able to think about is you. I miss you.â
She scoffed, shaking her head. âThatïżœïżœïżœs what you said last time, Rafe. And the time before that.â She took a step back, her voice dropping to a tired whisper. âI donât trust you. Not anymore.â
His face fell, desperation evident in his eyes. She started to turn, wanting to end this exhausting conversation, but Rafe grabbed her wrist, pulling her back toward him. She shot him a glare, her body tense as she remembered how their last confrontation had gone.
He hesitated, loosening his grip just enough for her to snatch her wrist back. JJ stepped forward, fists clenched, ready to jump in if needed. But Rafe held up his hands in mock surrender, trying to keep the situation from escalating.

Y/N turned sharply and stormed back to JJ, who protectively threw an arm over her shoulder as they headed out, leaving Rafe standing alone, clenching his fists and barely able to hold back his anger.
â ËïœĄâàšà§Ë
Back at home, Rafe was still furious, every memory of Y/N and JJ at the liquor store playing in his mind. The idea of JJ being so close to her, the sight of him with his arm over her shoulder, and especially the thought of him being the one to comfort herâit all pushed Rafe to the edge.
He stomped into his house and slammed the door shut, not even noticing Sofia standing nearby until she approached him. She looked up, concerned, trying to get his attention.
âHey, baby, you okaââ
But Rafe ignored her, brushing past her and heading upstairs, lost in his own thoughts. Sofia trailed after him, not giving up, until he finally stopped in his room, turning around to face her.
âWhat do you want?â he asked, annoyed.
Sofiaâs face fell. âNothing. I just wanted to see if you were okay.â
âWell, Iâm clearly fine,â he scoffed, sitting down on his bed. âSo can you leave? Thanks.â
Sofia turned to walk out, her shoulders slumping, but Rafe suddenly called after her.
âHey, Sofia.â
She turned around, looking hopeful. âYeah?â
âWeâre over.â
Sofiaâs face went pale, and her voice shook. âW-what? Why?â
âBecause I said so,â he replied coldly, his patience snapping. âPack your shit and leave.â
Tears welled up in Sofiaâs eyes as she stood there, stunned, before she quickly left the room, crying.
â ËïœĄâàšà§Ë
We got back to the house,I was still processing everything that had happened. JJ and I were quiet about it, both of us not wanting to bring any of that drama to the night.
Everyone was already getting comfortable outside, smoking and drinking as usual. It was like nothing had happened, and for a little while, I let myself get lost in the fun. JJ was by my side, as always, his arm draped around my shoulders or pulling me into side hugs. Heâd whisper jokes in my ear, making me laugh and forget the mess of emotions swirling inside of me. We drank, we smoked, and for a while, everything felt right.
Before long, everyone was asleep. I could hear the soft breaths of the others in the hammocks, the sounds of a peaceful night settling in. But I wasnât quite ready to sleep yet. I stood up, slipping quietly past everyone, making my way inside to go to the bathroom.
I hadnât noticed JJ was still awake until I turned around at the sound of footsteps behind me. My heart skipped a beat when I saw him standing there in the hallway, a look of quiet intensity in his eyes.
âDidnât mean to scare you,â he said, his voice soft, almost teasing.
âItâs fine,â I smiled, though there was a sudden flutter of something else in my chest, something I couldnât quite name.
I tried to open the bathroom door, but before I could, JJ was there, stepping closer, his hand on the doorframe as he leaned in. His lips crashed into mine, deep and urgent, surprising me. But before I knew it, I was kissing him back, my body responding to his in a way I hadnât expected.
He pushed me back against the wall, his hands roaming, fingers pressing against the soft fabric of my clothes as he kissed me harder. It felt different than anything Iâd ever experiencedâintense, full of raw energy. My breath hitched as he moved even closer, the heat between us building.
Without saying a word, he scooped me up, carrying me effortlessly upstairs, my arms instinctively wrapping around his neck as I pressed against him. He kicked the door shut behind us, locking it with a quiet click that seemed to seal us in, alone in this moment.

What if desmond was reborn as the 5th auditore child? Like he was just a baby/toddler when the auditore were executed
Hey, nonny.
We can make Desmond be born on March 13, 1476 so he would only be months old when the Auditores are executed.
Wanna fuck with Desmond and the Auditores some more?
What if we keep Mariaâs mental state after the execution and make her believe that the baby in her arms is Petruccio.
The only person who could remind her that she was holding and caring for her fifth child was Claudia and it was becoming harder and harder for her to keep trying to stay strong when her mother treating Desmond as Petruccio makes her think that sheâs in the past and asking when her husband would be back or if Federico and Ezio be back from playing outside.
The final nail in the coffin is that Maria mistook Claudia as someone else, maybe an older sister that was already dead or even her old nanny who died when Petruccio was just born.
Ezio saw what was happening and pushed Claudia to managing Monteriggioni to keep her from spiraling.
It becomes apparent that Maria sees Giovanni in Ezio and Mario tells him that it might be better if they slowly separate Maria from Desmond.
Itâs not doing either of them any good and making Desmond replace Petruccio was a fate that no child should ever shoulder.
So Ezio pretends to be Giovanni taking Petruccio for walks and tries to be there for his younger brother.
But being an Assassin made it hard for him to return home frequently.
He tries his best and he knows Claudia also tries to make their younger brother understand that they donât see him as a replacement and that their mother is simply⊠confused at the moment.
Thatâs how Desmond grew up, pretending to be Petruccio when heâs with Maria Auditore.
Mario trained him while Ezio was running around but he couldnât leave Monteriggioni because Maria starts to ask where Petruccio is whenever she doesnât see Desmond for a few hours.
Ezio went to Firenze after journeying to Spain (and got entangled with Bonfire of the Vanities) when Maria finally realized that Desmond isnât Petruccio. To be more exact, Desmond had turned 21 and Maria cried as she remembered that Petruccio would have never grown as old as Desmond.
At that point, Mariaâs relationship with her youngest child was strained by her own guilt and grief while Desmond just accepted it because he loved Maria and a part of him believed that he should have done something more (even if he was still a baby, guilt does not care about oneâs age)
Desmond starts doing Assassin work as well but goes rogue for a few months, returning with the remaining seals for AltaĂŻrâs statue.
Desmond takes the armor for himself and just shrugged it off as Ezioâs birthday present or something equally unimportant and Ezio returned to Monteriggioni with⊠wellâŠ
A very awkward family reunion, thatâs for sure.
So many things have happened at that point and, as much as he is happy to see his mother healing, he feels guilty for not being there for Desmond who just shrugs it off and tells him âI understand.â
âI understand.â
That was the worst phrase Ezio heard.
He kept hearing it from his younger brother.
At first he was relieved that his brother understood.
Then he realized that the phrase meant more than that to Desmond.
It was a resignation to his current situation.
And Ezio wasnât really in the best place himself.
He was still grieving the death of Cristina who died while Ezio was in Firenze for Savonarola and his men so there was also a bit of guilt there.
So Mario suggested Ezio takes Desmond to the Vatican with him as a âtraineeâ and Ezio agreed.
He tells Desmond that he never wanted him to be an Assassin, that he hoped he was the only one who had to carry the blood that drenched the Auditoresâ blade.
Desmond just stares at him and goesâŠ
âI understand.â
And Ezio knew that he failed being a brother to his youngest in this bloody path of vengeance he had taken.
