#I feel like might’ve killed most of my problems in V6 if it actually happened.

Just a random thing I can’t get out of my head.
Blake:*struggling* Adam you have to stop this!
Adam:There you go again, prattling on again about peace. They deserve our hate!
Blake:Who are you to decide that!?
Adam:An actual victim! *knocks her down* It must be so damn easy to cling to morals when you still have it all to lose! You speak for us when you’ve never been us. Face branded, body beaten, parents slaughtered, stomachs empty, entire homes burned; when Blake!? WHEN HAVE YOU POSSIBLY LOST ANYTHING IN ALL THIS HATE LIKE THE REST OF US!? *trembling*
Blake:…
Blake:You, I lost you. *tearing up*
Adam:….No, you just finally stopped being blinder than me, and hated what was always there.

Let’s talk about strength!
Disclaimer: I stan none of three people I’m about to really talk about. I’m looking at this objectively and if I hurt people’s feelings then oops....
Okay I usually do not read a post and have the urge to make a counter post but this aligns with something I wanted to talk about for awhile and this is the perfect excuse. I just read a post where someone tried to say Blake and Yang are now stronger than Adam in terms of skill, intelligence, and probably strength because they beat Vine and Elm. Not only that, but then they said Adam was never really that strong and was basically a high tier goon that team RNJR could’ve beaten.
*Inhales....*
No....that’s not how fights should be scaled. RWBY has a problem with power scaling in general but let’s focus on the topic at hand. First of all, I’m going to say I believe that post V7 Blake and Yang would probably beat Adam together. They’ve had training, new gear, and their teamwork is outstanding. Team RWBY beating Ace Ops was only possible because they were all on the same page while people like Marrow was not slowing everyone down when they were right next to each other and Harriet getting too angry to think straight.
Blake is arguably the weakest member of her team and the series isn’t doing her any favors by her only solo win being against Roman. She had no good counter for Vine or Elm that entire fight but fortunately Yang fills in those gaps and does amazing set ups. She’s the one who actually did damage to Vine and did most of the work with Elm. Besides that final hit, Yang was fighting Elm alone and pushing her back. You could argue that Yang might’ve actually been able to take Elm in a 1v1, maybe; that floor trick doesn’t everywhere. Before someone gets upset, I’m not trying to downplay Blake. Ilia was getting tossed around by her and tons of thugs/grimm with style. But anytime a big or more important enemy is around, she’s grade A support. Put her with Yang and they’re scarier.
My real problem with that post was they really tried to make Adam chump who was only tough because the characters he fought had emotional baggage; that’s pretty lame. I’m going to point out what happened in his fight during V6
Blake and Adam start fighting on the tower. We know Blake is fully rested because the mission just started and she hasn’t done anything yet and Adam most likely is two. In the scene we see a dead gaurd but I doubt it gave him in any trouble. They fight up here for a bit.

Then they fall off the tower and it several branches each before slamming down on the ground. That is bound to feel unpleasant and cost both of them aura.
Tumblr media
They fight a little in the forest and Blake does that cool things wher Adam only cuts her jacket and kicks him real hard. Blake shoots him a couple times and she’s been bouncing around using her semblance.
Tumblr media
They keep fighting until Adam gets the upper hand and starts getting her on the ropes. He even Breaks her weapon. It’s starting to look like in a one on one fight, Blake would lose at this point and honestly V7 has shown nothing that would change my mind.
Tumblr media
Yang shows up fully rested and hits him with her motorcycle by surprise. (Still hilarious) and then he has to fight her while Blake is specifically told to catch her breath.
Tumblr media
Yang and Adam fight like DMC characters where both of them get some real good hits in, Adam using his semblance a bit, and a brief pause in the fight where Blake is explaining Adam’s semblance and you can see Yang slightly winded. I’d show that part if I knew how to make gifs.

The Bumblby speech happens about protecting each other, then they fight him together. Adam has had zero breaks during this fight. He was winning against Blake then had to fight another person who was fine while Blake caught her breath, and now he’s fighting both at the same time. He pushed them back a bit before getting combo’d off of. Yet he still managed to knock Blake’s aura out. Blake had time to rest and she was still the first to get put on ropes.
Tumblr media
He’s back to fighting Yang uninterrupted. They trade a few more blows until Yang pulls off a fake out that allows her to disarm him while breaking both his and her aura. Yang came into this fight late against an opponent who had already been fighting and taken quite a bit of damage, but they still managed to put her in a position that brought her to zero. She ran him over first too.....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Blake showed back up and sucker punched him from cliff and Yang and Blake stabbed him before he could grab a sword. Now he’s dead.
If it took all that kill this goat man, can you imagine how this might’ve gone if he fought both of them at the same from the beginning? Like it’s possible to argue they may have stood a better chance but at the same time things like throwing his sword off a cliff, running him over, and falling off a tower might not have happen. Blake might still have her sword but the reason that was lost was because it broke by a strong it. Who’s to say if that would happen in this hypothetical scenario but it would be more likely to happen no matter what environment you put them in, than a convenient area to make sure Adam can’t retrieve his sword.
Listen, I’ve gone in record multiple times about the stupid and horrible things Adam has done but it is baffling to hear someone say he wasn’t tough. This man was harder to kill than a zombie from Resident Evil 2; he just would not go down!
As for the RNJR comment, I don’t know. Ren and Nora got slammed by inflatable arm grimm several times and lost their aura, Jaune has never had a competent, or I guess I should say choreographed fight scene this entire show. (which sucks!) so I don’t see him doing too much. I can’t even fathom how Ruby and Adam would fight. Like a said earlier, power scaling in this show is a mess. If anything Adam, Neo, and Qrow would be decent benchmarks to figure it all out if more people fought them. Those who won we could compare who’s better by how much of an effort, and we could do the same for the losers. Now that I’m really thinking about it, how strong is Ruby!?
