I hate being a person who loves bugs, I can't say anything without the person I'm talking to reacting with disgust. Today I had to literally beg a coworker for the life of a spider, and then after I put it in a nook outside she thought it'd be funny to show me a video she took of her killing one. Like idk man. Birds scare the shit out of me but I still get why people love them. They come in pretty colors and they sound nice and they're interesting to observe. I don't understand why people don't feel the same about bugs. The rich amber color of a cockroach, the iridescent glow of a fly, the intricate hydraulics that power their little legs, the chirp of a beetle, the art of the spider's web... It's all so beautiful. Why is it the habit of so many to destroy?

He’s trying his best

This might sound weird and may not fit to eldritch horror Basil…

But I have a feeling that the gang feel bad for Basil due to his constant bad luck with animals around him, and how much that makes him feel saddened himself. So, they device a plan where they brainstorm on the perfect animal to give to Basil, and eureka! A fish! They are easy to feed and don’t run away right?

So, the gang (except for sunny since he didn’t know their plans) bought Basil a gold fish! Along with a small thank and fish food for it. Unfortunately, even though they had the best intentions with this idea, Basil is internally panicking and glanced at Sunny with a face that can only be described as, “… Help me.”

Because he doesn’t know if he can keep and not eat the new pet goldfish lol

It's like the friend group offered basil a snack as a gift and he's required to look after his food for as long as he can without giving in to his cravings :,)

I have faith in basil tho! Considering it's a very sentimental gift from his friends, he'd try his darn hardest to keep the little fishy safe and sound.

As long as he keeps the lid to the little aquarium closed the fish won't attempt to escape by jumping out. Maybe later on the fish will get used to the eldritch presence, but the first few months basil has to deal with a very jumpy fish every feeding and tank cleaning time.

By the time the fish dies of old age, basil feels: proud for taking care of his pet for such a long time without eating 'em, saddened as he felt some attachment to his little scaly buddy and relieved that that's all over with.

Based on this prompt: Draco has received news of a rare magical creature sighting and has been called in to illustrate the animal and it’s natural habitat/den. Only problem is: he can’t find anyone to pet sit his beloved animals and seeks outsider help by hiring a pet sitter through a wizarding company. Enter: Harry James Potter, pet sitter extraordinaire and living his best life hanging out with animals all over Britain, enjoying the vast and interesting towns and houses he finds himself in. Draco, loves his animals so much and asks to have regular contact through letters.

Dear Potter, I am writing to ask for your help again to take care of my pets. Unfortunately for me, they seem to have grown on you and they have been misbehaving with any other pet sitter. I have no idea why they speak fondly of you and find you so charming. Nevertheless, I was pleased to see that they were in good hands last time.

I hope you have a good rest and enough energy since the next seventy-two hours you will be dealing with their curious, mischievous, and overly friendly nature. Until next time, D. M.
