Re-reading Bleach’s Arrancar arc, and… god I want to give Orihime a shoulder to lean on and cry on. Just… gosh the poor girl… she can’t catch a break :’(
The moment she has self doubts about her own abilities (a very understandable and normal teenaged thing!) she has an even more stronger insistence to be stronger, and just when she’s about to get a tremendous improvement in her abilites, the bad guys show up (specifically Ul//quiorra) and basically coerces her to join the arrancar because the value her abilities. That refusal would lead to the deaths of her friends, and as a pacifist who doesn’t like violence and wants to keep her friends safe, it’s understandable that such an offer is VERY HARD for her to decline.
May I remind people that Orihime at this point in Bleach is a teenaged girl attending high school. Who just a few months ago almost saw her best friend die (they’re okay but they’re not the same person anymore), had a near death experience herself, and also saw the person she has a crush on be violently defeated in a battle he wasn’t prepared for.
Arrancar arc is really just… Orihime and the horrible, terrible, no good, very bad day :(
#I was really emotional when typing this up..#the momen she considers getting stronger urahara comes around and well intentionally#says that she should sit this fight out because her combat abilities are a liability#LIKE ITS WELL INTENTIONED… but the dude explains it so horribly it just adds to orihime’s self doubt#and she vents this to rukia who LOSES HER SHIT. rukia is like ‘HEY WITHOUT YOU I’D BE DEAD’! and she’s right!! and she trains with orihime#after orihime’s fairy friend gets fixed!! and it’s like!!! FINALLY!! she’ll get the time to shine on the battlefield!#but the arrancar saw that and went ‘hey… what if we stole this human and kept them as our medic? it’s a piece of leverage over#that ichigo guy :) we win either way and they can’t stop us. it’s a foolproof plan!!’#and they coerce her to join them by threatening the lives of her friends and it’s like!!!#then taking advantage of an emotionality vulnerable orihime is like.. genius storytelling#it’s a consequence of the characters not allowing orihime stand on her own in a fight. they try to protect her so much that they end up#losing her in the end anyways as she joins the bad guys. obviously this is a coerced betrayal. the enemy threatened#the lives of her friends in exchange for her to go with them. so of course!! she’s going to follow their instructions to save her friends!!#I don’t think orihime is THAT naive I think she’s more kind than naive. she wants to see the best in people even if they are her enemy#she did that a lot in the soul society infiltration arc#i think her real weakness is that she’s kind to a fault but the fact she chooses TO BE KIND even in the face of evil gives her#so much character and personality to her. she’s a good person who wants to do good and to be better; to help OTHERS BE BETTER!!#hi I’m normal about a fictional character sorry…#bleach spoilers

Shinji Hirako - Oneshot (Bleach)
Being able to see things that most people couldn't has never been much of a gift.
As a child it was easy to pass off for something else. But the older you grew, the more you realized that most preferred to be the same. The unknown scared people. But not you. That's why when you met Shinji, it was the first time in your life that you were thankful for your ability to see what others could not.
"So you're a visored?"
"I am."
Shinji sheathed his weapon, jumping down from the pole. He still had that mask on his face, and all you could truly do was marvel at him. Decked down in a suit, he looked sort of like a businessman. Except you were positive business men did not go around fighting monsters in the sky.
"You don't seem scared of me." He tilted his head, now standing directly in front of you.
"If you wanted to hurt me, I'm sure you would have just left that monster to do it."
Shinji studies you.
"It's obvious she's the same as Orihime and the others, but I don't see any weapons. She also seemed to be running away when the hollow attacked."
"Have you always been able to see them?"
"Yes, ever since I was a kid."
"I thought so."
"Will you tell me more? I want to know everything." You looked generally curious, and Shinji smiled.
"You're a strange one. But sure, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to fill you in. I think the most important advice I should give you is to steer clear of all those monsters with the masks. They're dangerous."
"You also have a mask." You pointed.
He blinked, as if just realizing.
"I guess you're right."
He lifted his hand, and you could see the white hardened surface of his mask begin to turn into particles as it faded. Your eyes were wide in interest.
"Sugoi..."
There really was much more out there than you realized.
~~
Shinji's feet tapped against the concrete softly as he walked down the street.
"I'm positive her school is around here somewhere."
He'd been tracking you since that day. Mostly to keep an eye out. Although he was positive you weren't a threat, it never hurt to be careful. In the event that you did turn out to be an accomplice of Aizen, he wanted to be ahead of the game. A part of him sort of hoped you would be at the same school as Ichigo, that way they could also keep tabs on you. But the moment he saw your uniform he knew that wasn't a possibility.
The little murmurs distracted him for a moment. Students were gathered at the gate, and a couple of the girls seemed to have spotted him.
"I'm being reckless."
The whole point of this was to go unnoticed. He hadn't realized that school already let out.
"Hirako-san?" Your call makes him turn. You stepped out from the crowd, looking at him in confusion.
"(Y/N)-san! What are the odds?" He smiled brightly, and the both of you took off down the street.
"I think she bought it."
"Why are you following me?"
Your flat tone made a bead of sweat run down the side of his head.
"I-I don't know what you mean. I was actually headed to get some ramen. "
"The shop is in the other direction."
Your eyes were now on him, and he scratched his head.
"You've got me. Guess I'm no good at this spy thing huh." You were quiet, still walking in step.
"You think I might be an enemy."
Shinji's eyes harden.
"Do I have a right to worry?"
You shook your head.
"I'm kind of flattered that you think I'd be anywhere near as strong as you, but I'm not. Other than seeing spirits, I have no other abilities." Your eyes fell, and Shinji noticed how sad you looked at the statement. Like you were disappointed in yourself.
"I may look naive but I know there's more to it than just random hollows running around."
When he gave you a download of the world you knew little about, it felt like he did his best to omit certain points. Like he was holding back. Now seeing him here at your school, it made sense. There was something much stronger out there.
Something dangerous.
"You're pretty perceptive (Y/N)-san."
"It pays to be vigilant, especially with all I see."
"Well, you're not wrong."
He's misread the situation.
"I apologize if I offended you. It wasn't my intention. I just need to protect my family."
He'd told you about them too.
"I understand. You're a good brother Hirako-san."
He chuckled. He'd meant to explain that they weren't exactly blood related siblings, but that feels like a conversation for another day.
"I suppose I am huh." He was wearing a prideful grin, and it made you giggle.
~~~~
"Like this?"
You brought your hand over your face in the motion you'd seen him do many times, and Shinji laughed.
"I think you've got it."
You smiled.
"I wish I had that power, it always looks so cool when you use it."
"It does have its perks."
Sitting on the roof of your house, you were thankful for the darkness. It always made the sky light up so beautifully.
"Hirako-san." He turns.
"Yep."
"Can you do it now?" You were watching him expectantly.
"Do what exactly?"
You made the motion over your face, and he raised a brow.
He knows he's probably asked you the question already, but he really does wonder if you're not frightened at the sight of his mask. Maybe it's because you've always been able to see strange things, so to you it's nothing. But to him, it's a little disarming. Or maybe just refreshing.
This part of himself wasn't exactly something he was always proud of. At the very beginning he resented his hollow side. This transformation was the cause of the biggest loss in his life. It was a reflection of pain. But now, after all those years he'd finally learn to bear with it. Somehow looking at you, it strengthens that resolve.
"Alright, but don't go crying like a baby." You turn to him fully, and Shinji draws the mask on in seconds.
"How's it look?"
Your eyes widen at the distortion of his voice.
"His voice..changed too.."
When you first met, you'd been a bit caught up in the moment. You can't stop yourself, you reach out, touching it lightly. Shinji's eyes track everything you do, and when you remove your hands, he pulls it off his face. He's holding the mask in his hand, and his eyes are still that bright shade of yellow. This was unlike anything you'd ever seen.
"You're so cool Hirako-san.."
It sounds like an unconscious mutter, you're still very much taken with his changed appearance.
"You're the coolest." This time, you grin, and his eyes widen just a little. He smiles, himself.
"Thanks (Y/N)."
~~~~
"You want to do what?"
"You can fly can't you Hirako-san?"
You're shifting on your feet. The both of you were heading in the direction of your home when you brought up the topic. But your request made him stop.
"S-So I was wondering if you wouldn't mind..taking me to fly with you just once.." Your cheeks are flushed, and Shinji can't help it, he laughs out loud. Your cheeks darken and you hit his chest.
"N-Nevermind!!"
You storm off angrily, and Shinji does his best to stifle his little snickers as he walks up behind you.
"All you had to do was ask (Y/N)."
It's a whisper, and you squeal when he picks you up suddenly. He jumps into the air, and the force of the wind makes you clutch onto Shinji as you close your eyes. You bury your face into his chest, and he looks down at you with a tender gaze.
"Are you going to keep your eyes closed the entire time?"
You nod, still not looking. Shinji has already stopped moving, but you haven't noticed.
"It's okay, you can open your eyes (Y/N)."
At first you don't really react, but after a little while, you peek an eye open. Very soon your eyes spring open and you gape. You're so high up, you can practically see everything.
"This is...amazing.."
Shinji wasn't sure he could say that. He's always traveled like this, it was much easier. So of course it isn't anything new. But watching how astonished you looked, for some reason it now has a different appeal.
"Whenever you like, I can take you up here."
"Really!"
You turn back to him with the biggest brightest smile, and his face colors just a little.
"S-Sure."
"Thank you Shinji!!"
He isn't sure what to say, all he knows is that he loves to see such a happy look on your face.
~~~~
"He's like a model or something."
"So tall!!"
"He looks like a doctor or a lawyer!"
You can hear the squeals coming from the gate, and you push through to get home.
"How annoying."
Why were they freaking out anyway, it was just a guy. You move to head on your way home.
"(Y/N)-san!!"
Shinji's call catches you a little off guard.
"Hirako-san..."
So he's what's behind the ruckus. For some reason hearing the way they were fawning over him is irritating. You walk over taking his hand as you glare at the girls. A few of them take a step back as you trudge down the street. Shinji just observes. When you're out of sight, you release his hand.
"Hirako-san, don't stop by my school anymore."
"Eh? Why not?"
He thought you liked it when he showed up. You never had an issue before.
You don't say anything, just puff your cheeks. A smirk makes its way on his face.
"Are you jealous of the attention I get (Y/N)-san~"
"I-I don't care!!" You stomp away with your chin up and Shinji takes your wrist softly to stop you.
"I guess I won't stop by anymore." He's wearing a little smile and you turn your head.
"I said I didn't care."
"I know." He links his finger with you, humming as he walks with you.
"Baka."
~~~
A part of you thought that those days would last forever. You and Shinji, just fooling around. But with every month that came and went, your meetings started to get scarce. The atmosphere felt thicker. Like there was something looming in the air.
Something bad.
One particular afternoon you'd been missing him more than usual. You weren't sure how he knew, maybe he could feel it, but there was a knock at your door, and when you opened it, suddenly it felt like you couldn't hold back your relief.
"Hey! Sorry I've been so flaky I had to-" You crashed into his chest, and he took a step back. His arms were raised a bit awkwardly into the air.
"(Y/N)?"
You shook your head into his shirt.
"Don't lie to me, it's bad, isn't it?"
He had every intention of coming in and giving you a comforting lie. He should have known better.
"It's bad. People might die. I might die."
You clutched onto his shirt tighter, looking up at him. He could see the tears begin to form.
"Don't..go.."
You sound so defeated and it breaks his heart.
He brushed the tear off your cheek with a weak smile.
"I can't abandon my friends, my family. They're all depending on me. They need me."
"I need you!!"
It was selfish, you know that. But what else could you do? Why couldn't he just stay here with you. Away from the battle.
Safe.
"I promise you I'll do my best to come back to you."
Once again he was wearing that smile. The one he gave you when he was trying to reassure you of something.
"I'll come back for you."
All you can do is wait, hope, pray that this wasn't your last meeting.

ORIHIME INOUE // B.LEACH
forgive me i’m still iconing so rn you just gotta accept the hueco mundo arc icons!!
‘jiwoo another orange haired sunshine girl?’ yeah i have a type moving on
seemingly just your ordinary and everyday person you spot on the street, but there’s more to her than just her smile
as stated above, is a sunshine girl! she’s very bright and optimistic, as well as kind and compassionate. she can come off as clueless or naive and has a habit of daydreaming, but knows when to be serious. and even then, she tries to keep the mood light for herself and those she cares for
has had her own share of troubles and heartache. raised by her brother when he took her and ran away from their less than stellar parents until he passed. she’s been through a lot prior to awakening to her powers and afterwards, but they’ve helped her grow into who she is today
is able to see things humans usually can’t! she has a high spiritual awareness, so it’s no issue for her to sense things like ghosts or demons, spiritual beings that usually aren’t perceptible
looks like a cinammon roll, is a cinammon roll however she’s also capable of taking you out. her best friend tatsuki trained her in karate and she has a black belt level. so go ahead come on try it and see what happens. this girl has literally survived having a hole blown in her side as well do not think she is weak and fragile
has a unique power when it comes to her ‘healing’ in that she doesn’t heal normally, but rejects the damage done to someone/something. quite literally, she’s returning the person or thing back to it’s state before receiving damage! she can bring back lost limbs and even resurrect the dead but, as of right now, she’s only capable of erecting her shield which also can stop lethal falls! her power of ‘healing’ is so great that it is said to trespass into God’s territory as, in a way, Orihime is literally rejecting the fate of what’s happened
is chief expert on weird foods. this girl at a whole loaf of bread at her desk. with red bean paste. just a whole, unsliced loaf in the middle of class. every food combination is fun to try in her eyes. do not diss them
is not someone to try and tack advantage of. pacifist she may be, she has gained a strong will and resolve, and will strike back. in her words, she doesn’t care about being subtle. don’t attack until she says she’s ready
may seem a little bit on the weird side, but she’s unapologetic in who she is and doesn’t die down her emotions/feelings for anyone or anything. she’s very human in this and while she has her doubts and insecurities like everyone else, Orihime always tries her best to move past them and continue on
god bread is so good. don’t you love bread? bread is the best thing ever created. #1 bread fan right here
#isola follow#me battering down the tags door#i hold her up like simba#you WILL perceive hime and you WILL adore her

Why the Fullbringer Arc is an important plot milestone - 2
the continuation of this post and I’m bak on my bullshit~ remember my brain will jump to things
also CFYOW spoilers
so part 2/?
key figures and themes of the arc
So last time I said that ppl disliked the majority of new characters because, as opposing to the ones we grew familiar with, the arc was differently paced and so we didn’t have time at large to form some sort of solid connection to them.
And here the magic happens, because we do not have time to get attached to the characters and they seem to be faded against the background of all the others.
But apart from COMPARISON Fullbringers are quite an independent unit that focuses not on how much reiatsu you have, but on skill
In the Can't fear your own world novel the origin of Fullbringer power is revealed and it’s shown how actually universally badass those powers are, take Tsukishima for example, who grows a tree in a second to ward off lightning, simply adding himself to the past. Atomic.
For living people even just getting close to the level of those with whom they fought (three captains and three leutenants) and not dying in the first moment (except u Giriko) is a great achievement. For people who are not Ichigo Kurosaki with a family tree rivaling GoT of course.
There is another important motive associated with fullbringers, which I mentioned above, and this is LONELINESS. And it's served so brilliantly that I'm going to die now.
If you look and read carefully, it becomes clear that even the fullbringers gathered together are unusually, exasperately lonely. (See the cover? They reach out but never do truly connect) This is the curse of their power. This is their main weakness. This is their unusual humanity and kinship with the Hollows.
This is also why, but that’s my guess, their whole presentation is very lacking, to show how they fall out of everyday life and proper sozialising, so even we, as readers, cannot properly connect to them. Same reach out, but not hold symbolism. Or I am giving too much credit, we just don’t know?
Even the one who has assembled the whole group, Ginjo, is an even lonelier person who has terrible trust issues, who survived betrayal and persecution, and everything that he once believed in was set upside down. And even knowing what kind of person he is, fullbringers, driven by loneliness, followed him. (Though, we must admit, he weilds his words well and rolls +20 on persuation)
Because, although for a short time, he helped them to bear the burden of this loneliness.
Needless to say, the entire initial situation with OG fullbringers happened not only bc of some noble meddling, but also due to the fact that Ginjo gathered people to TAKE POWER FROM THEM SO THEY COULD LIVE A NORMAL LIFE
Ironically enough, each Fullbringer posesses a piece of SOUL KING, which is the source of their power and lures Hollows to pregnant mothers, which is such an important piece of information it makes me mad it was only explained in CFYOW.
Although it is understandable why Kubo chose not to focus on it during the arc. My take is he planned to show the importance of Fullbringers and their origins during TYBW, but we all know it didn’t happen.
Another common theme that follows from the previous two is PTSD, which unites the characters and key figures of the arc, and the paths of experiencing trauma constitute another conflict, where Ichigo overcomes it through friends and the return of strength and motivation, as opposed to Ginjo, who choses destuctive way to handle his own trauma.
In short flashbacks shown during “Pray for Predators” chapters, we can also clearly see PSTD practically in every person’s past. Each of Fullbringers go about it differenly, most proactive being probably Riruka and most reactive being Tsukishima and Ginjo. Which is also symbolically shown that people, who can go own with their lives and finally integrate into society stay alive. Those, who cannot, go to SS and are set into new path by more drastic measures.
I will surely attribute to the pluses how Kubo shows Ichigo's PTSD, literally in 3-4 chapters showing how he cannot, like Remarque's hero, settle in peacetime, because he constantly catches triggers, for example with his substitute badge.
Through Ichigo’s thoughts is shown how he merged with his position as a substitute shinigami and constantly thinks in categories that are not very applicable to his normal life, which he seemed to have dreamed of for 16 years And now he actually got it, but absolutely does not know what to do with it.
Kubo skillfully fuels PTSD and Ichigo's anxiety which is why he is being swayed by Ginjo's words correctly spoken at the right time.
Example: Karin speaks of his brother, they say he always fought to protect Ginjo fuels Ichigo’s doubt , saying he must act to protect his family
Accordingly, the theme approaches the climax for a push into the plot at the time of the attack on Ishida, Ichigo gets a punch in the gut twice: first from Ishida himself, who, with his unwillingness to tell things, pokes Ichigo into his helplessness and excludes him from the circle of trust, which IS the last blow
And then from Ishida's father, who by his behavior shows that Ichigo's efficiency now amounts to zero, so much so that he cannot even protect Orihime while she walks home, which is why he runs away in frustrated feelings, realizing the message. So this intro is absolutely veritable and ingenious.
And so that you understand how desperate Ichigo is, if not yet, then here is a panel where FATTEST visual forshadowing happens. And here is an absolutely genius moment to understand that Ichigo is not a child but a teenager with all that it implies
He may be battle-hardened, but this is a 17-year-old living boy with trust issues, and if we remember that through his manager's lips we are given a direct hint that Ichigo is still immature in a way, so the meaning of this arc as a stage of Ishigo's psychological maturation becomes clearer.
Just look at the face he has when Ginjo promises to return his powers (not to mention the hysterics after that) Is this a healthy person's face?
And here my hands are literally itching to start talking about Ginjo, because to give an antihero who, in addition, will have a much closer dynamics with Ichi than Urahara, plus for the duration of the arc will act as a mentor and father figure, this is just genius. Don’t @ me.
But the next plus, which will then bring us further, and this is THE Forshadowing
Everywhere, just everywhere, starting from the very first pages.
And Kubo still confuses us in the course of the narrative, but my god, when you re-read, Easter eggs are crammed almost in every chapter and I think its beautiful. Both verbal (Ginjo is such a bad actor that he has to change his memory badumts) and visual
The plus that I mentioned earlier is 100% more lively dynamics between Ginjo and Ichi, because both are people and in fact, there is much more than it may seem at first, that brings both together. And the friendly connection that they establish with each other in this arc still not 100% false placeholder. (Which is easily spotted by the way Ginjo adresses Ichigo through the arc especially last chapters).
And at the same time, they are in many ways the antonyms of each other, in age, color scheme, design, even names and also in what gives them motivation, in how they react to this or that event. For example, Ichigo is quite an emotional guy and puts his soul into everything, so to speak, then Ginjo, for example
Plus, the latter is not only skillful manipulator, but also embittered. And through such contrast, with generally the same input data, Kubo shows us that there is always a different path, leading to the topic choice, and where each specific one can lead a character.
Which absolutely doesn’t stop Ichigo from familirizing himself right off the bat and the two of them have comedy gold moments from the start. It is more lively, than being set against 300+ y.o. Urahara (whom I love as a character).
And, cross my heart Isshin is a great character, but he’s got that father of the year award, and Urahara can only give like a little itsy bitsy of information at a time only if it benefits him or a bigger picture, so the mentor’s role goes to Ginjo, which is well earned as he is technically the First Substitute.
Ginjo is a mentor, a guide, and the main antagonist of the arc, which in itself is an unexpected and interesting combination within the framework of Bleach. Here is a living example, in the moment of training he can go so far as to help Ichigo overcome his psychological barrier by simply and cruelly breaking him.
Which he does in the most painful way, through the trauma and inability of Ichigo to protect his loved ones. And from the reaction of the latter, childish and naive, his immaturity can be clearly seen (see the previous points). Although we do not know this yet, Ginjo is constantly trying to teach Ichigo one lesson that he himself learned the hard way.
Combining this with such an important praise for a teenager and faith in Ighigo’s powers, which Ichigo was deprived of for 17 months as soon as he lost his powers as a shinigami ( all relatives are trying to isolate him from this, no one believes that he can and is able to stand up for him). This is another plus of the arc, namely the whole depth of the betrayal that Ichigo experiences when the cards are revealed.
Maybe the quincy arc would go completely differently, if Ichigo felt Ishida's betrayal or reacted to the truth about his mother in a different way. Did Ginjo not temper/prepare Ichigo in the way he did, did he involuntary not strengthen Ichi internally... Who knows how Bleach would end in general.
This is to the question of the importance of this arc yes
P.S Strengthening the body also benefited Ichigo.Friendly reminder that he fights in his physical body for the entire arc except the end.
And the training episode immediately appears in a different light, right?
And in my next hot take I will focus on another really important thing which is salvation and my own bitterness of why didn’t Kubo explore the whole SS thing and now we have to fee ourselves
#bleach#bleach meta#ginjo kugo#ichigo kurosaki#fullbringers#my fingers are tired#omg i can't shut up#look at all the potential we could have#look at ginjo#this is for free

YOOO how about some headcanons abt ur Bleach SI?? Like their relationship w other characters, their general personality, how strong are they compared to the main cast, their bankai?? (Btw I'm LIVING for ur SI design she's very cute😳)
SOBS I’M GLAD YOU LIKE HER I’ve using her to live my dream to have pinkish hair tbh (prove to myself it would be a cute choice for to me to make one day)And OH Boi do I have a lot of stuff for her so I hope you’re ready for a wall of text!Personality
Is there anywhere term for a lil shit?
Some tropes that relate to her:
Sour outside, sad inside - Literally her goal is to be rude and distant to get people to leave her alone, especially other shinigamis who want her to fight with them
Training the gift of magic - Her focus on Kido and the spells you can learn is something she hasn’t truly dropped over the years
Sincerity mode - Shockingly sincere and kind to those she knows needs it in the moment or when she’s more willing to be honest. But often it just comes off…not sincere at all based on who she is.
No lie, she’s made of majority of sass and blunt commentary. She can be considered a negative optimist in most pleasant cases. Often coming off as an angry mother hen, she refuses to fight for the longest time, or even exit her gigai. Preferring to seal away her power and zanpakuto but not discarding it as she can still be seen using her Kido skills while in her gigai and always carrying her sword in a tiny toy looking keychain. But she will let you think what you will of her if you make assumptions of why she’s hiding even then danger arises. “It’s not my problem, think what you will of me.”
A lot of her base behavior is rooted into her past and to understand that you have to understand what happened to her 40+ years prior to the start of the series. she caused the death of someone she trusted and blamed her bankai since it was the literal cause. Cursing her powers and herself for hurting people dear to her she fled to the living world to try and clear her head. Eventually meeting Urahara and literally just losing track of time being happier there with him and his shop doing small things and painting her emotions into the canvas.
This obviously changes over the series and she becomes more “helpful” to the causes that pop up but she never truly drops her rough attitude towards most people.
Relationships
Urahara & co - Her employer of sorts
Urahara is the one who helped her when she was down and lost with herself. She’s been working for him for a long time and it shows based on their relationship. It’s both one where she threatens to beat him for acting unfavorably or slacking but also she highly respects and trusts him. One of the rare people she would stick her neck out for. She’s also learned a thing or two from him as well.
Ururu & Jinta are both troublesome and charming to her. She’s not above scolding them for acting up (Jinta especially) but tries to make sure they don’t get into troublesome/dangerous situations if she can help it. Jinta likes to act as if he’s her boss which results in a broom to the head most times.
Tsukabishi is probably the easiest for her to get along with mostly because he respects her space and she respects him. Especially considering he was the former Captain of the Kido Corps which has resulted in her pestering for input on her own Kido skills and work.
Ichigo & co - Bunch of crazy kids she sometimes associates with
Ichigo is problematic and overworks himself and his position in the universe. She’s not a fan of the hero types but really over time it just becomes concern and motherly worry for him.
Orihime is both a doll but also troublesome. She’s a sweet girl but also somewhat of a naive person and that can rub her the wrong way.
Ishida is the one she knows the least and instinctually the one she will avoid the most.
Chad is the only normal and least annoying one to her.
Majority of other shinigami - Part memories of foolish people
Rukia & Toshiro are two she finds amusing since are both small, work orientated, and ice powered, she holds some respect for them over time.
Renji is one of the more interesting people she can butt heads with in a more friendly way. She does better with people she can push a bit but knows which buttons to not press.
Yumichika & Ikkaku are sometimes paired in her mind because they are usually found together. She likes to give Ikkaku a hard time and call him names but in reality she knows he’s stronger than her and actually likes the look of his bankai. Yumichika has style that she admires but wishes he could expand that and make Ikkaku wear better things.
Hisagi & Rangiku are just more in her age bracket. While she is familiar with Hisagi thanks to the academy and didn’t mind his company they obviously lost touch. Rangiku is…a mixed bag, she prefers when the woman is more serious but it up for drinking anytime with her.
Kyoraku is her former captain and can explain why she acts how she does with Urahara when he gets a little perverted. She admires the man though, and does feel sorry for leaving as she did but wouldn’t dear admit that.
Visored - Fascinating but partly tragic group of people
Shinji is partly still a mystery and she doesn’t know much about him but he stands out to her and there is an air of curiosity. But that tends to happen when she encounters more flippant and casual people.
Hachi is the one she would aim for first due to his skill set. A hunger for more knowledge is what she desires but I’m sure she isn’t against a kinder soul in comparison to her own edge.
Arrancar - Interesting and different from what she’s used to seeing
Nel sometimes can be in the same realm of how she feels about Orihime but with more power. Her kid form isn’t something she can sometimes stand though but the adult form is also somewhat of a handful to her.
Grimmjow is a hot mess to her, or rather he makes her feel like one. He fascinates her at first but also is very aware of his immense power. She can’t tell is she’s afraid of him or not and after he “helps” get her to put up a fight she makes sure to explain she’s no where near his level and isn’t someone worth trying to first again.
Quincies - Stuck up gremlins
Fullbringers - They’re confusing to her at most and the group she never really interacted with personally too much
If you REALLY want to know about anyone specifically just ask I’m not making this a mile long kjdsfjhkdf I will most likely have an opinion in mind for them. Bleach has a lot of interesting characters but I tried to stick to ones she has interacted with.
Strength (or lack of in a lot of ways)
Strength & Health, she’s as average as you come for a shinigami (if you wanna get fandom technical her Hakuda (hand to hand) & Zanjutsu (swordsmanship) are decent but can be a bit average and nothing fancy)
But while its average, she seems far more comfortable with using staff based movements and techniques rather than a sword. This can be seen with her Shikai and other similar items such as a broom
Speed she’s pretty quick naturally so her Hoho are fairly strong (she’s more of the type to want to block and evade then straight on fight you)
Kido/Spells is where she shines though, in the academy and after she prided herself in how proficient she quickly became. And she does like testing out different combos and mixes of spells to see what she can create with that. Also her has learned to use her Kido in par with her Bankai for a higher success rate.
Zanpakuto Info (aka something that’s still being roughed out with a friendo)
Aoi Mizu (is the current name I’m leaning towards)
Normally for most of the series run, its hidden in this little toy, keychain form that she carries around. But normally its just a normal katana when its not crammed small.
The Shikai becomes a blue Halberd and released with the word “Cleanse”. She can alter the length of the staff to some degree, and there is a refreshing, watery scent to it when she swings it. To her touch the blue blades feel cool and wet.
The Bankai part is still under development but for the moment when released a certain radius around her is engulfed into an orb like space that is always raining. The purpose of the rain is to continue until the entire space is filled, effectively aiming for a timed race of air. While she’s typically fine if the water raises to a point where there’s no air you can easily escape by knocking her out as it only stays active if she is conscious or she chooses to end it. This is why she has trained to hard in Kido, she uses the different spells to try and trap to delay her opponent to get them to the point of submersion to knock them out or worse.
Basically she thinks her bankai is rather pointless thanks to her average strength and fighting skill.
BUT YEAH I hope this covers everything you wanted to know (and wasnt too much I know its really REALLY long jkdjhdgh)

Alright, I guess you could argue artists do their work for the love of their occupation but damn I didn't know Kubo disliked his co-workers and readers to the point he would back stab them. Then again, what do you think of Orihime confessing to Ichigo as she is the only character in the series that expressed explicit feelings for him. IR interaction seems to be more implicit?
Look. I don’t know you. I don’t know your circumstances, or your history, or anything about you. I don’t even know how old you are. But I want you to think about when you were 15, if you’re older than that.
When I was 15, I still kinda wanted to be an astronaut, and I had ideas about making discoveries in physics, and I was flirting with girls in anime chats on IRC. I wasn’t mature, I wasn’t particularly able to place-take with other people, and I wasn’t considerate. If you asked me “What would you tell your younger self?” my answer would be a swift right-hook to the jaw. 15 year-old me was an asshole know-it-all.
Now, I’m not going to tell you that teenagers should be dismissed out of hand, because they shouldn’t be. They’re learning and still figuring things out. They’re becoming adults. And it’s a process that takes many people well into their 20s or longer to complete. Some people never complete it! So that’s not what I’m getting at here.
What I am getting at is that when a 15 year-old says some shit to you like “I will love you for five lifetimes,” even if you’re also 15 years old, you shouldn’t believe that shit. At all. Because it is literally an impossible statement. There is no way someone at that age knows themselves remotely well enough to assert that, nor that they know what they’ll be doing in 5 years, let alone 10. It’s inherently absurd.
And maybe that kind of statement really resonates with people who first heard it when they were in that age bracket, you know? I could understand that.
But anyone older should look on it and just shake their heads and laugh. Because it’s an astonishingly naive thing to say. This is without going into the fact that she never really knew or understood him. (For proof of that, just witness Nel showing far more faith in Ichigo than Orihime did, not too long after.)
So you ask me, what do I think of it? It was a completely meaningless statement. I’m not saying she didn’t think she believed what she was saying (in other words, that she was lying), I’m sure she did. But it was utterly meaningless and frankly, a completely selfish act. (She could have said goodbye to a friend who actually did care about her like Tatsuki, or not just blithely taken Ulquiorra at his word that he was the strongest ever and just warned people like a smart person would’ve, but I digress.)
I have literally no idea why anyone would ever take Orihime’s declaration at face value. I “understand”—though I utterly disdain—the assertion that just because she felt that way, she deserved some form of reciprocation from Ichigo. But I don’t understand why anyone credits her feeling as being worth anything at all.
You know what else? I’m told that Orihime loves Ichigo, but I never see it. Love, fundamentally, is about acceptance, support, and trust. What did Orihime do when Ichigo fought Grimmjow? Mistrust Ichigo. What did Orihime do when Tsukishima was fighting Ichigo? Mistrust Ichigo. Even Byakuya believed in Ichigo. Orihime didn’t. So, not only was it a meaningless assertion, it was one I never saw put into practice. I never saw the magic.
You know who was there for Ichigo, time and time again, and whose belief in him never wavered? The one who could dry his rain and set him right again? That’s right. To me, it’s not complicated.

I’m bored and have no story (or curhatan) to share... so it’s time to duel answer some questionnaire! Actually, the original post [here] got more than ninety questions, but I’ll just pick the ones I’m interested in and alter some of them a bit.
1. If you had to be gay for a day, what celebrity would you most like to take on a date?
It’s arduous to project the kind of girl that’ll draw my attention. But since I have the hots for nerdy guys (with fast-paced speech, silly gesticulations, and, of course, glasses!) like John and Hank Green, I’ll probably go for girls with such similitudes. Hmmm... Emily Graslie, perhaps?
6. What are the top five most contrasting songs on your playlist?
When you have both metals and nasyeeds in your playlist... It’s like what Wali called ‘tomat’ (red--tobat maksiat). All those fucking and shitting and hell, to praising The Lord and acknowledging your penitence and baper-ing; repeating over and over and over and over...
8. If you could make just ONE change to this world, what would it be and why?
Erase the notion of witches (wow, I’m feeling like Madoka; ups, spoiler alert). Can I wish for immortality?
9. If you could wake up tomorrow and be fluent in three additional languages, which would you choose?
Quenya, Parseltongue, aaaaannddd SIMLISH, YEAH! Have you listened to Katy Perry’s Last Friday Night sung in gibberish--I mean--Simlish? You really should!
11. What are the top five movies to make you cry?
Hello Ghost
The Green Mile
Hachi: A Dog’s Tale
You’re the Apple of My Eye
Miracles in Cell No. 7
Yes, I’m such a crybaby. Hello Ghost and The Green Mile made me ugly the most.
12. What’s the scariest nightmare you’ve ever had? Describe it in detail.
Uh... overslept and missed exams. Good thing they were just dreams!
13. Would you rather raise 25 children or have the chance of ever having children taken away? Why?
WHY SHOULD I OPT FOR RAISING 25 CHILDREN?! AIN’T NOBODY HAD TIME (AND MONEY) FOR THAT.
17. If you had to lose one of the five senses, which would you choose and why?
Rather than senses, it’s probably better to discard emotions.
21. If your life was about to become like Cheaper by the Dozen and you were going to be saddled with twelve children, what would you name six girls and six boys?
Let’s say those children were orphans taken care by me. I’d happily give them the names of fictional characters! Before I familiarize you with my kids, let me introduce myself first: Karlisha “Kirun” Runa Niephaus, the caretaker and the custodian, along with Raine Virginia Sage and Damuron ‘Raven’ Schwann Oltorain.
(Boy) Vandesdelca ‘Van’ Musto Fende The big brother of Tear. As the result of his upbringing as an orphan at early age, as well as being the oldest in the orphanage, he became precocious, looking after his sister in their parents’ absence and willing to help the caretakers attending the other children while also struggling on his study. He was an amiable fellow and well-respected throughout the orphanage. Currently in the last year of senior-high and busy preparing himself for a law school.
(Girl) Mystearica ‘Tear’ Aura Fende Van’s baby sister who adored him dearly. She had grown into somewhat a wallflower; a shrinking violet. Although shy around people, Tear was a girl with a strong moral compass, never quivered to defend her friends from bullies. Like her brother, she had a beautiful, melodious voice that had brought her to become a choir member in both the town’s church, alongside Van, and her school. Currently a seventh-grader.
(Boy) Ffamran ‘Balthier’ mied Bunansa Both dashing and quick-witted, Balthier was the conspicious of all. His charm and eloquence could easily impress anyone he met, thus making him the most popular kid around. Albeit a bit self-centered at times, Balthier could show his altruitic side, especially when it came to his bestfriend’s affairs, Ramza. Currently a ninth-grader and a valuable player of his school’s basketball team.
(Boy) Ramza Lugria Beoulve A boy who survived from a wildfire that burned an entire village, including his parents, his beloved sister Alma, and his bestfriend Delita Heiral. His meek and tender disposition clicked perfectly with Balthier’s smug and jaunty manner, therefore creating a bridge of trust between them. Ramza had an eye for world history, spending most of his time in the library to read books and write essays. Currently a ninth-grader and established a close relationship with the history teacher Goffard Gaffgarion.
(Boy) Edgar Roni Figaro Sabin’s older twin brother who was an electronics hobbyist and a gamer. He was the technician around the house, repairing the appliances and, sometimes, modifying them. Knowing very well that he had insufficient funds to begin with, he befriended Cid Del Norte Marquez and worked at the latter’s workshop as a part-timer. Though a geek at heart, Edgar didn’t constrain himself as a mere geek; he was surprisingly flirtatious, but to no avail. Currently an eleventh-grader.
(Boy) Sabin Rene Figaro Edgar’s younger twin brother. Unlike his prudent and erudite twin, Sabin was quick-tempered and straightforward, and excelled at physical activities, particularly martial arts. Under the tutelage of his karate master Cyan Garamonde, Sabin achieved black-belt in a no-time and had won many tournaments. Of all their differences, he and his brother shared the same unflappable determination and ambitions. Currently an eleventh-grader.
(Girl) Estellise “Estelle” Sidos Heurassein Cute, courteous, and bright; Estelle clearly caught everyone’s attention, but still being humble as she looked up to Philia. She was one of those bibliophiles who could even recite various passages from heart. After the incident involving her two bestfriends, Yuri Lowell and Flynn Scifo, Estelle promised herself to become a splendid doctor, thus leading her to be studious, hoping to obtain a scholarship. Currently a tenth-grader, a model student, and a member of the science club.
(Girl) Margarita “Rita” Blastia Mordio A curious prodigy with an IQ of 160; however, lacked of social competence. She liked to correct people whose perceptivity was wrong, which inadvertently annoyed them unbeknownst to her. Rita was close to Raine’s little brother Genis due to their similar level of intelligence and close age, and to Estelle who always welcomed her presence. Currently a fifth-grader.
(Boy) Genis Kloitz Sage The genius younger brother of caretaker Raine whose brain power could disparage the grown-ups’. Even as a child, he could solve his sister’s undergraduate math problems and sometimes engaged in Edgar’s projects. Due to his superior intellect, he demonstrated repellent disposition and was cynical towards others, but would greatly respect everyone with the same intelligence as him. Currently a sixth-grader and had a crush on his P.E. teacher Presea Combatir.
(Girl) Rutee Atwight Katrea An upbeat, tomboyish lass with misunderstandable attitude. Having a firm moral sense yet being irascible at the same time, Rutee could easily pick a fight with anyone she deemed erroneous. Despite this shrewish demeanor, she was in fact solicitous and attentive towards her close relations. Due to the hapless circumstances, Rutee became eager to earn money, working as anything as her employer wanted her to be. Currently an eighth-grader.
(Girl) Philia Clemente Felice Like your everyday bespectacled girl, Philia was smart, genteel, and naive; pretty much a foil to Rutee. A devout Christian, she highly regarded her belief and attended the church every week. Through her science teacher Batista Diego, nature and chemical experiments had greatly interested her as she aimed to be a chemist in the future. Currently an eleventh-grader, a model student, and the chairwoman of the science club.
(Girl) Rydia Asura Mist The youngest and newest in the orphanage, being five years in age. She was rescued by the sailors Cecil Harvey and Kain Highwind from ship drowning, a disaster that killed her mother and developed her fear of waterbody. She loved animals dearly as she often visited the town’s farm and pet house with the company of one of the caretakers.
25. What’s the most frightening thing you’ve ever seen in your life?
Failures.
26. Name five books you think everyone should read and give a brief synopsis for each.
Too lazy for the synopsis. Just check them out on GoodReads:
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (by Agatha Christie) Lemme proudly present one of Christie’s masterpieces. I personally found this more exquisite than And Then There Were None.
A Short History of Nearly Everything (by Bill Bryson) I know Sagan’s Cosmos and Hawking’s The Brief History of Time are popular as hell, but hell... they were published in the 80′s (but still gold though, you really should check them out). We need newer ones and Bryson’s is certainly the best--for me, at least, at this time--in elaborating big history and the development of science.
Why Evolution Is True (by Jerry A. Coyne) A nifty allusion for Darwin’s The Origin of Species. No. Don’t protest. Dawkins probably produces more of this kind of books than Coyne does and, of course, is far more popular than any evolutionary biologists alive. Dawkins is a brilliant writer and all, but Coyne has the apt for making the theory easier to comprehend.
Little Women (by Louisa M. Alcott) Still the best bildungsroman. Ever.
Speaker for the Dead (by Orson S. Card) Sci-fi, philosopy, anthropology, politics, religion; all in one. Yes. I’m such a weirdo to enjoy the second book far more than the first one.
27. Do you believe one can fall out of love?
It’s a fact. Why bother asking anyway.
28. What are your three favourite sounding words?
Peculiar Don’t you think the word ‘peculiar’ has such a peculiar pronunciation?
Halcyon Archaic one, yes. So old-fashioned that Kirun--who fancies classics--is indulged by its subliminal beauty. Moreover, it was used as the title of a Bleach’s chapter: ‘Goodbye, Halcyon Days’. Aren’t ya romantic, Orihime?
Preposterous I like to shout out this word--in my solitude, of course--whenever expressing my disbelief.
31. List the seven deadly sins in order of the one you feel you commit the most to the one you feel you commit the least.
Pride, greed, wrath, envy, gluttony, sloth, then lust.
32. What’s your current desktop picture?
46. What’s your favourite ever television commercial?
youtube
49. What’s the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to you?
“Kirun kan pacarnya aku.” -- by some girl
51. Name five facts that the vast majority of people won’t know about you.
I’m a girl (see? I knew you’d be surprised).
Clearly not a fujoshi. What? You guys don’t believe me? Fine then.
Though having [too] many guy friends, all of my bestfriends are girls; which are, of course, very few in numbers.
Yes, I’m very aware that I love Gaara so dearly, but I’m still normal too, you know, since I had crushes in real life. And they were boys. I know, I know, I’m so gay, right? Wait, what am I exacly; male of female?
Contrary to popular belief, I’m actually a piiiipp who wishes to openly express my opinions and matters without worrying any prejudice nor distressing the ones I love.
54. Share five goals you want to complete in the next 30 days.
Sing Asterisk (of Orange Range’s) fluently. This one’s freaking hard.
Read more than ten books.
Write at least a short story. My imagination has been dormant these days. Inspirations, I summon thee!
Survive without snacks and confectionaries. Kirun, you can do this!
Yes. For one more time. Survive.
58. State eight facts about your body.
I have all the necessities of human being.
Oh, except my appendix had been removed.
Thank goodness the tail remains vestigial.
I’m getting fatter (don’t kill me, people).
A bit taller than average.
Pale as Suzanna-on-action.
My nails aren’t neatly trimmed.
I hate to admit this, but... my nose is... flat--annoyingly flat that even my cute, golden-hearted but veracious little sister pointed, “Sis, is your nose always that tabular?” WHY LIL SIS WHY?!
60. Are you allergic to anything? If so, what?
Romantic love. Sure I do not resist to read or watch romance, but if it happens directly to me... NO. PLEASE. STAY OUT OF THE LINE, MISTER/MISS.
61. Describe yourself in one word/sentence?
“Tetapi sesederhana-sederhana cerita yang ditulis, dia mewakili pribadi individu (...)“ -- Jejak Langkah (by Pramoedya A. Toer)
63. Share five facts about your childhood.
Can I write it in quotes?
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”
“If you don’t imagine, nothing ever happens at all.”
“We need never be ashamed of our tears.”
“And now that you don’t have to be perfect, you can be good.”
“It’s no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.”
71. Name five people who are famous who you find attractive.
John and Hank Green (I really can’t choose between those two),
Matthew Macfadyen (best Mr. Darcy ever!),
Mark Ruffalo (husky voice and wistful countenance, how I love those combination),
Kim Rae-won (probably the only Korean actor that I find cute), and
Eddie Redmayne (HOW CAN YOU PLAY NEWT WITH SO MUCH CUTENESS?! HOW CAN YOUUUU!!!).
81. Share five facts about your best friend(s).
Most of them are humans.
One is the embodiment of integrated-circuits.
Some are ailurophile.
Few are bibliophile.
None is pedophile, gladly.
82. What’s the most superficial characteristic you look for in a partner?
Has to be the opposite sex. Duh.
83. Share five ways to instantly win your heart.
Are you Gaara? If not, well... screw you.
88. Give a description of the person you dislike the most.
We share the same room. We share the same clothes. We share the same food. We share the same body. We share the same mind.
91. If food was people, who would be your best friend, your life partner, your enemy, and your ex?
Best friend: okonomiyaki and curry ramen.
Life partner: mom’s seared, chilli scallops.
Enemy: pare.
Ex: instant noodles.
