What’s it like being a Wachowski cousin? An AU in which Tom has a niece/nephew in their 20s living in Green Hills

Mandatory cousin movie nights, no adults allowed. You sneak in all kinds of snacks. You at least teach (more like show) them to make homemade pizza and popcorn to make up for all the junk food. Sonic tries to make his pizza in a shape of his head but of course the dough expands and looks nothing like it. (Think of either a blob or that one Sonic popsicle that looks wonky). Tails puts all kinds of cheese on it. You had to fight Knuckles on not putting grapes on his pizza (“but you have placed pineapple on yours!” “knux we’ve been over this, it’s not the same!” “yeah, knuckles, pineapple is worse”)

Building the most impressive pillow fort imaginable with fairy lights, cozy pillows and blankets, and even tunnels (it takes up the whole room imo). Tails brings so many stuffies into the fort it’s hard not to step on one by accident (fun fact: you did blamed it on Ozzie). You also bought them comfy hoodies like those big blanket hoodies for maximum comfort (and hiding snacks). Once Knuckles is settled, he will NOT move for the remainder of the movie. Sonic uses so many pillows just to make his own mini couch/support you ended up getting him one of those “boyfriend pillows” (they are like those arm chair looking pillows but I always knew them as boyfriend pillows). Btw he groans when you call it a boyfriend pillow “Y/N CAN YOU NOT????” “Nope I absolutely must, embrace it oh cousin of mine”.

You try your best to make sure y’all watch good appropriate movies but sometimes some things slip through the cracks like watching Grown Ups (movies you watched at their age, but you kind of forgot what they were like as a kid). At this point you just stick with animated films to avoid getting an earful from Aunt Maddie (even though you defend yourself saying it’s important they receive a movieducation, but I digress).

To make it fun and fresh (without watching the same films each time), you try to do a theme for each movie night. So whether it’s binging a trilogy like Cars or movies that made Uncle Tommy cry, there’s always something new to watch. This is also to deter Sonic from trying to get everyone to watch Speed. The only exception to this plan is Shrek because you somehow got them hooked on it and they can watch it OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

The best is when you’re on your 2nd or 3rd movie depending on the theme and day of the week, and they’ll slowly start inching closer to you for hugs. Tails caves first and hangs out in your lap. Knuckles leans on your shoulder in some way. Sonic hangs out near your legs like putting a pillow on them, or sometimes hangs out near your head if you’re leaning on the couch. Just remember to take off your cozy hoodie as all the hugs leads to overwhelming warmth on occasion. Oh btw you’re trapped there the rest of the night, you could maybe scootch Sonic out of the way but if knuckles leans on your fully you ain’t getting up brother.
