Ok, but imagine living by yourself, out in the wilds, away from the village full of people you turned you away. Do you get lonely sometimes ? Sure, but it’s better than being around those who don’t want you.

Most often you’re fine with it. You enjoy your own company, and spend your days in a comfort of your own making. But sometimes that ache arises. The one that yearns so desperately for warmth. To be held by another. To no longer feel alone….. when this happens you take a trip to the hot springs.

Slipping into the warm water, you bask in the heat - letting it seep into your tense muscles and ease that aching in your chest. Faint ribbons of steam dance in the silver light as you relax fully. You’ve been coming here for many moons now, and each time you leave feeling content.

Hands creeping downward, you gently brush the skin of your chest, stomach, thighs….before dipping further. The water already feels so good, why not add to the satisfaction you feel before it’s time to leave ?

Eyes closed, you feel the the pleasure from your fingers, and the warmth of the water - the way it’s gentle volume seems to craddle you, move against your legs, gentle lap at your throat.

With a soft moan you lazily lift you eyelids, only to be startled by the form of a man waist deep at the other side of the pool. Well not really a man. Although it takes on a humanoid shape, the figure across from you is completely formed from the hot springs water. You’d heard of creatures like this. Ancient magic so strong it took on a life of its own; through water, air, earth or fire.

There world around the two of you totally stills, waiting for someone to break the silence. It’s the water elemental who speaks first. Well, he doesn’t really speak, the sound of a babbling stream emerges from him, though you understand as if he were speaking in your own tongue.

A garble of flustered apologies tumble out. He hadn’t meant to watch you… but he couldn’t really not, seeing as he was the hot springs. He should have revealed himself when you first came to the pool, but you were so beautiful, he felt unable to manifest as anything other than a puddle. And the way your tension eased as you lay within the water…the way you seemed so much happier when you left… he couldn’t stand to take that from you.

After hearing all his rambling, only one thing hummed in your mind.

“You’re the reason I don’t feel alone.”

Although the elemental had no need to breath, you swore you saw him gasp softly, eyes filled with yearning as the water around you gently swirled.

Standing, you made your way towards him; parting the spring slowly with your hips as you came to stand before the curious being. Lifting a hand, you gently pressed your fingers against him. Sliding them up his chest as the water tension kept you from sinking in. With only a moments hesitation, you tentatively pressed your lips to his, cradling the warmth of his cheek and raising to your toes to press closer. The crash of an ocean wave filled your ears, what could only be a groan from this watery creature, as he pulled you’re naked body further against him.

Soon sweet moans filled the night. The elemental held you close, his touch at times almost human - strong arms around you, his mouth pressed to you neck - but the sudden morphing of sensations, into the caress of water you had grown familiar with, reminded you what held you was much more than a man. A gentle current seemed to spread you legs wider as you were filled over and over. First by a tender caress, the tide against a river’s edge in the mauve hours of evening. Then, growing, swelling, till you felt like a rocky cliff meeting the crashing waves of a storm. Despite the rhythm of waves rushing forth, you still felt safe, the warm water holding you, soothing you as it always had - only now the whispers of steam carried with them sweet words of worship.

With a final cry you pleasure reached its peak. The waves around you lulled, encircling you in a soft embrace. The spring had always been something that helped ease your loneliness, now running your fingers over the water elementals tenderly smiling face, you felt a lightness in you chest like nothing you’d known before.

This stupid "Your Name" Bucktommy AU won't leave my brain, and while I don't have enough faith in my writing skills to actually write the damn thing (and it would be my first fanfic... ever?? and that's a project that seems a bit too big for me lmao), I DID write down what I'm picturing some of the "rules" Buck and Tommy have for each other while in the other's body. Since I mentioned how Martyn saved Last Life for me, I think it’s time I finally make my Martyn Appreciation Post that I’ve been meaning to make because the fandom is too mean to him sometimes.

Once upon a time, I discovered a series called 3rd Life. I watched it because I had watched Grian many years ago and figured “sure, I’ll see what he’s up to now.” The premise was very interesting and the episode got me hooked. The second episode came out and I watched Scar’s, it was so funny I subscribed despite never knowing anyone except Grian before 3L. I watched the series as it came out, always watching Scar but branching out to see the other POVs too, because I was invested in the whole story. And of course, how could you watch 3rd Life without watching Martyn, the hand. His editing was great, he added so much to the enjoyment of the story with just editing.

And then suddenly, (I think this was the first instance but I could be wrong) he had almost died and there was a voice telling him it wasn’t his time to die yet. I watched Scar first as always, so I knew Martyn would survive, but the editing made it feel like he wouldn’t until that voice came and “saved” him. I wasn’t expecting anything like that at all. What was that voice supposed to be? Why wasn’t it the right time for him to die? Fans all talked about it of course. Back then, it was called the “voice lore”, cuz that’s all we really knew. A voice. This voice lore gave fans even MORE to talk and theorize about, which is always great in fandom spaces. The series went on, the voice coming back sometimes as we’d try to figure out what was going on. It wanted him to kill Ren, but he never did. He couldn’t, because Ren had died and Martyn fell shortly after.

The 3rd Life finale was fantastic. I cried. Like actually I cried, and despite not writing often I even wrote a little retelling of the cactus fight mere hours after watching the finale. It was that inspiring. I was crying as I wrote. Eventually, I got around to watching Martyn’s POV of it, cuz how could I not? It was amazing, a totally different side of the war, a very tragic one at that. Of course, Martyn died. I knew he would, I watched Scar first every time. But I wasn’t expecting what would happen after he died. His character falling in a dark void, some speech about always fighting, even if you have nothing to live for. It made me cry. Yes, I cried a lot in my time in the life series. It’s great that a series could make me feel that way. Anyways, I cried at that speech. Then it ended, and the voice returned. It wasn’t very happy with Martyn. I was actually legitimately worried for his character. Until that point, I had been imagining afterlives for all of the characters (yes I cried at Scott’s finale too). Happy afterlives for them, since I loved the characters so much. But when I saw that last bit of Martyn’s finale, I was worried he wouldn’t get a happy ending like I wanted for all of them. But of course, my feelings aside, this was lore. Why wasn’t the voice happy? What was it going to do?

I went on twitch and found Martyn streaming, talking about 3rd Life. I watched and learned so much behind the scenes stuff. I’m just going to bring up this point now: Martyn’s interactions with life series fans is part of what makes him and his lore so great. But more on that later.

Then Last Life came out. I was so excited, I actually recently dug up my old DMs with my sister from when I found out about it, apparently I was a couple days late to realize it came out lol. Not sure what I was doing, I also don’t think I knew there would be a second season, even though I know I watched Grian’s finale where it said there would be. Idk maybe I forgot. Anyways… I was OBSESSED with Last Life. Completely and fully invested. My birthday was during its run and all I asked for was my family members to draw wizard Scar. But anyways the point is Martyn. The voice returned! And this time… there was more! Martyn was acknowledging the voice. There was a secret shadow group formed, and we learned more and more about the voice but not enough… yet.

One of my favorite parts of Last Life was when Martyn was… hallucinating? Jimmy and Mumbo were alive and he did Mumbo’s intro. It was well put together, disturbing, sad, and also a great teaser for the episode when he uploaded that Mumbo intro compilation. Then he runs and has an argument with the voice before finally giving in. Like… wow. What was that lol. It was awesome! Martyn’s character has always had such… character. He’s merciless and willing to betray, yet also loyal and empathetic. It feels like he would be a sweet guy and a nice friend if it weren’t for the circumstances. I love c!Martyn so much, he really feels like he has feelings even tho he’s just real life Martyn’s OC he roleplays as in minecraft.

But now, that famous Last Life Finale. Martyn dies (in a very bad way I might add) and the same thing that made me sad last time happened again, but worse. The voice was upset with him. This time, to his face, and VERY angry. That end speech is one of my favorite parts of the life series EVER. I want to have it memorized. It explained so much, was so powerful, just vague enough that you might not understand at first but could easily figure out with a bit of thinking what they’re referencing. And since that day, it was no longer called voice lore. We knew what the voice was now. It was now known as the watcher lore.

Now, to be honest, I think I actually first experienced this legendary speech from a stream. I was just absorbing the Last Life finale (which was disappointing for me personally but that’s a different post) when I saw Martyn was streaming an explanation of his lore. I watched it, and it was amazing. I got to learn what everything meant, little bits of trivia and behind the scenes, all that! It honestly saved my slipping enjoyment of Last Life. I had never watched EVO, but the great thing was you didn’t really need to. If there was something you didn’t understand, you could ask other fans, or just ask Martyn. That’s one of the best things about the watcher lore! The guy writing it is very open to discussing it with fans so you can understand it better, show him your theories, learn behind the scenes and all that!!

I just don’t see how people could hate it so much. Out of all the life series creators, Martyn interacts with the fans the most. Not even in an uncomfortable way, he seems to understand fans and fandoms well. Here on tumblr if you’re interested in his lore you can just shoot him an ask and he’ll likely answer! He’s planning on making an explanation video for his lore too, which will be really helpful. It’s the most interactive part of the life series (aside from the new “suggesting secrets for secret life” thing), of course the fandom will obsess over it!

It’s just disheartening to see people diss it so hard just because they think the fans are annoying. First of all, most posts that talk about that reek of cringe culture, second of all, have some respect for the hard work Martyn puts into this!!! There’s no reason to drag him down just because his work inspires the fandom more than you’d like it to. I’ve seen people say it’s just fan service. First of all, I don’t see a problem in him seeing fans talk about watchers a lot and think “let me give them more to work with!”, especially when second of all HE WAS PART OF EVO, I’M PRETTY SURE HE WAS ONE OF THE WRITERS FOR IT. He has full right to continue the watcher story. Also people don’t seem to realize the lore has existed since 3rd Life? Probably because we didn’t know it was watchers back then. But still, he didn’t randomly see watchers and go “I’ll do that”. Before the watcher reveal I think I saw watchers in the fandom like twice? Because Grian made the series. It was mostly just AUs anyway. So yeah. Martyn wasn’t like stealing fanon lore for clout he just wanted to use watchers and we went “that’s so cool” and went insane.

Within the series, the lore isn’t as overbearing as people claim it is either. Once again stop dragging Martyn down for gripes you have with other fans. There wasn’t even ANY in double life. In Limited Life, it was just a few rhymes and such, which was still awesome! His finale also added more to the lore, was very cinematic and cool. Lots of work put into it.

On that subject I also made it to the Limited Life Finale Stream!!! Explaining the lore and answering questions and giving behind the scenes information!!! It was great! Other members of the series helped him with his finale which is cool. He gives us tons of stuff to work with all the time, lore to theorize on, he just gives so so much to the fans. It’s no surprise at all that we love his lore.

Just… most hate I see is so misdirected towards Martyn. Don’t hate him because he made an incredible story! I stand in front of him with a sword and a shield and say “he is not your enemy! Everything you’re complaining about is because of the fans!” So you turn around to fight the fans only to see I am also standing in front of them with a sword and shield. But that is a conversation for another day.

Basically, Martyn lore so good he is great for the fandom and I cried ten million times while in this fandom. In a good way.

The point I was trying to make there was that there are some characters that I don’t see as queer and that, at the time, I hadn’t know that canonically they were all pan. bestie (nicest way possible) as someone who was new to the fandom last September I wouldn’t recommend making a sideblog and like talking about comics/batfam/etc if you haven’t read the comics? people get really touchy about that, because fanfic interpretation tend to be really far from how characters are in canon (and character relationships get butchered and softened and straight up invented for plot, which once again, creative liberty + that can be fun but often tends to be incredibly ooc & excludes women (cass, helena, steph, etc) or poc (duke (though his case is different considering when he was introduced), cass, damian’s poc but isn’t really ignored) in favor of white boys (jason especially, who shows up far later than said women & isn’t really close to the fam yet fandom tends to give him their relationships with the family) so like...you’ll probably be mostly wrong and people are rather unforgiving about that because they’re tired of people that haven’t read comics talking about the characters (incorrectly) while refusing to interact w/ source material, and it’s a huge problem & very prevalent so I can’t really blame them? idk I just don’t think it’s a good idea unless you want to reblog just art and stuff, which is fine! but like...everything's really confusing w/out proper research if you want to get into the fandom (everything post-reboot/post-2011 is largely ignored unless said otherwise because the reboot was so awful), so i just want to point that out! but I don’t want to be mean, just some advice :) (if you ever change your mind about comics, just give the say so! we’re (and i) am very glad to help you out with what to read and in what order, and take it from someone who was in your position six months ago, they are truly really fun!) /gen /nm

not to worry my friend this sounds pretty much exactly like the dsmp experience where new people never properly interacted with the canon content and the fanon got more and more bastardized over time as a result and everyone got touchy abt it. including me . you could say im familiar . im just on the other side now (oblivious newbie) which should be interesting. i have no intention of treading on anyone’s toes or making assumptions or even talking abt the characters with any sort of authority. if i do make a sideblog it’ll be just to reblog art n stuff.

plus i am ah. very aware that the fanon im consuming is an extremely warped perspective of the actual comics. and with how many different “canons” there are i’m sure it’s a mess. at least in dsmp we could always point back to just the og streams. here i’m gathering there’s 174958637 comics + 284871 writers + movies + live action AND animated tv shows + multiple video games and they ALL have intersecting characters and possible canons it’s giving me a headache just thinking abt it dear lord

so yeah. i’m perfectly happy sequestering myself in an oblivious fanon corner and not claiming to know anything. normally for a new fandom i would seek out the full source material and examine it thoroughly but theres just. too much. and i also just don’t enjoy reading comics. at least not the superhero ones. like, as someone who has major struggles sleeping anywhere else except my own home, I sort of get falling asleep to listening podcasts e.g. while on tour to mute all the unfamiliar/unwanted noise or whatever, but even when he's at home? so yeah, I thought that was a little odd too 👀

another thing I found somewhat weird was that he said he usually eats dinner while working? instead of, idk, spending some quality time with the babe? like, duuuuude, are you really that busy or...? 😬 I don't think he's broken up with his partner or anything of that sort, and as you said it's not really our place to speculate with stuff like this as it might all just be normal for them for all we know, but it does make one wonder... and sometimes I can't help but wonder just how much time this couple has to spend together during the working week? Remember the time when some girl catfished colby? I heard that the “catfish” was all the time the real girl that colby stood up for? I know this drama is old, but im still confused to this day💀.. like why did she do that

that whole situation is very weird and messy and we never got the full story of what transpired/the full truth.

so this is what i heard. idk how much of it is completely true, so if others heard differently let me know lol

this became really long so sorry if you don't want to read a novel.

there was this account named brocksbaby and she would post pictures of herself along with edits of snc and the friend group back in 2019. she became really popular, had her own fans (so to speak), and in general was really known in the fandom. she also had another account named alexsdead.

one day, colby commented on her pic saying “you can’t be real 😱” and then later on answered a dm of hers saying something like “please don’t be a catfish. ok? ok."

after this point, they started to dm back and forth, and eventually moved their convos to snapchat. around this time colby made it known to her and the fandom et large that his dms were broken, and that’s why he wanted to move his convo with her over there.

so the thing is… colby claims he had a suspicious feeling that she was a catfish from the get go, hence the comment. and brocksbaby at the time had this one friend, named sam funny enough, that she was sharing all of these dms to. colby said in his video that he wasn’t really talking to her all that much, just every once and a while. and the dms that sam saw and then gave back to colby once the account was deleted kinda show that yeah he wasn’t talking to her all that much, but he was talking to her regardless.

but it never went above a pg convo, so don’t go crazy yall lol

now, there were other fans in the fandom that felt that she was a catfish and really made it be known that she was. hilariously one of them was godcolby - which if you know your snc lore…. she was equally as crazy in her own way. what ended up happening is that bc brocksbaby had more followers, she came out and said how upsetting it was that these ppl were spreading lies about her. so all of her “fans” went after this group of other fans and sent them nasty messages, death threats, the whole nine yards.

how did it all come crashing down?

well somehow, one of the fans that didn’t like brocksbaby happened to randomly find Alex, as in actual Alex, not brocksbaby. they dmed her, asked her if she knew about this account, and Alex said she didn’t, and that apparently ppl had used her pics to catfish before.

so….. i gotta be honest with you, i find that statement very hard to believe. Alex was not an influencer at the time. she was a random girl who had roughly 1k followers on insta. she had a normal job and everything. she sort of became an influencer after this whole thing, but i’m getting ahead of myself.

so Alex reaches out to colby and tells him that that’s not her, and she apologizes for this accounts behalf (…even tho the account didn’t do anything?). all the fan accounts that didn’t like brocksbaby start going crazy, posting how brocksbaby is a catfish, she’s a liar, ect ect.

sam, the friend she had, finds out. and i was relatively friendly with her at the time. she started going live every day after this occurred. she was really heartbroken bc she told brocksbaby all of this stuff about her life, and she thought they were best friends, so of course when she found out she wasn’t who she thought she was, she felt betrayed.

i was watching her live stream when she said “you know, i have all of the ss she sent me of their convos. i’m gonna send them to colby.” and that’s how he was able to make his videos, bc once brocksbaby got backlash, she deleted her account. and sam stepped in and sent him everything she had.

and it was claimed that brocksbaby was actually a 16ish year old girl and not the 21 year old she portrayed.

so… how does all of this get turned on Alex?

colby made his first video and she EXPLODED in followers basically overnight. i’m talking going from 1k to 10k in like 24 hours. it was nuts. also ngl… i don’t get why so many fans followed her since like i mentioned (and like she said in one of his vids) she was just a normal girl and not an influencer.

she ended up doing a bunch of lives during that time, and eventually her and sam talked. and at first their convos were nice, with Alex trying to smooth everything over. but something went awry, and i’m not sure what happened for that to take place, but then all of sudden Alex was being extremely rude to sam. and mind you, sam is 17, maybe 18? and Alex is 21/22. so Alex should have known better not to bad mouth a minor. plus, it was very odd for her to all of sudden go from being really friendly to all the fans to turning on a random one. and this eventually bled into her being really mean and snarky to a lot of fans.

now granted, it's possible that fans were giving her slack and she just... didn't know how to handle that. but it's not like a gun is being held to your head, telling you to interact with fans. you don't have to. if i got an influx of ppl paying attention to me, i probably would remove myself entirely from the situation for a while. but i digress.

at some point during all of this, sam makes the joke "omg what if Alex IS brocksbaby. that would be so funny, but there's no way." bc according to sam, she "saw" what brocksbaby looked like, aka a 16 year old girl.

so..... like i mentioned earlier, brocksbaby had a second account that she surprisingly was still active on (that's what sam said, which is why i'm telling you this). i think the account was private at this point. i remember sam came on her live stream, reeling, saying that she found out that brocksbaby and Alex are the SAME PERSON bc of this account. according to her, or what i remember taking place, someone got alexsdead to click a link that saved their ip address, then did the same to Alex and ALLEDGEDLY it was the same ip address.

ngl, i think this is technically illegal, but you know what? i'm not gonna try to argue about old drama lol

sam tells everyone on her live, i think she might have showed it too but idk at this point in time, and then everyone started going crazy at Alex, calling her a fake, a liar, ect.

Alex tried to defend herself, saying that that wasn't her. she even tried to show her own ip address just to prove it wasn't the same one. but no one cared to listen. and she got pissed that colby wasn't standing up for her against his fans.

idk what she expected from a man that just found out she existed all of two seconds ago but... okay.

i also forgot to mention colby also replied to an email of sam's basically letting her know that he heard what Alex was doing, apologized on her behalf, and told sam to block Alex if she continued to be rude to her.

Alex at the time also gained a following on twitter, and that's where most of her hatefulness went rampant. her fans were fighting with snc fans for a long time, they tried cancelling colby for nonsense shit that just didn't happen. the last time i heard about her, she called snc pervs or something bc they posted that picture of them with jake and corey at the la house with their asses out and said "you guys have such young fans, this is gross", all while promoting her only fans so...... pot meet kettle lol

now, all of this is to say, was Alex actually brocksbaby?

i'm not entirely sure, but i also think she was. think of it this way, even if you take out the whole idea that their ip addresses matched, which to me feels so far fetched anyway, Alex wasn't a known influencer before all of this shit. the likelihood that one of her 1k followers was ALSO a snc fan that felt the need to catfish as her is slim. not to mention, colby talked about in his video how he would ask her to send a video of her waving or giving a thumbs up or whatever, and she would be able to do that sometimes. and that to me is a bit confusing. bc unless this catfish literally had EVERY piece of media Alex ever made saved and ready to repost on snapchat, how the fuck would she be able to, on a dime, send him what he was requesting to see if she was real? either a, this was a person that knew Alex (like a younger sister or cousin) and thus had access to all of her content, b, this was a very high ranking catfish that just... gave up immediately after getting called out OR c, it was Alex pretending to not be this fan for whatever reason.

maybe she was embarrassed when she got caught so she lied. maybe it was a younger relative that just wanted to be notice by colby. idk and tbh at this point, it's such old news i don't think we will ever know the real truth.

Currently Watching: Taskmaster UK because it’s such a great series, I’m genuinely looking forward to it each week this time, and I’ve also been binging Bob’s Burgers again but I’m doing it at night so keep falling asleep and missing loads. I haven’t really got a streaming show on the go at the moment though because I’ve been struggling getting in to things recently for some reason. I’m very excited for new Black Mirror though!

Currently Reading: The Bullet that Missed by Richard Osman, but I’m reading it slooooowly. I read the other books in the series and they’re great but I keep getting distracted and forgetting to sit down and read this one which I need to fix. I’ve become something of a holiday reader and I need to get back into reading properly somehow.

Current Obsession: I started replaying Super Mario Odyssey from the start on the Switch again so that’s partly responsible for the distractions mentioned above. Finished the story in about 4 days but it’s going back to get the other stuff that takes time and I’m not the most skilled gamer. I’m a bit at sea with my other obsessions though. I’m still in on F1, but not as obsessively as I was a year ago or so? I actually have been enjoying FE more the last few races but I get more drawn in by the circus surrounding F1.

Cut for me having weird thoughts about Japan vacations

I feel kind of sour lately about seemingly everyone going on vacation to Japan. I have a lot of complicated feelings about it. One, I’m envious, of course. I want to go to Japan. I went once in 2006 and I would absolutely love to go back. I’m kinda irrationally grumpy that people have the money to go when I don’t. And maybe it’s because I watched One vlog but now I’m getting so many Japan vlogs recommended to me about peoples’ ~crazy~ Japan trips and from the thumbnails they seem very samey and it’s kind of annoying to me.

And a large part of me wants to gatekeep Japan. Like “no, that’s my thing!!” Anime seems so much more popular nowadays than when I was a teen. (I seem like such an old person saying that.) Back then it was harder to get ahold of. I torrented so many sketchy subbed animes and bought chinese knockoff dvds off of ebay (or, to be honest, had my dad buy them for me djdjsjs). Now with better internet, streaming, etc. etc. anime, manga, and other Japanese media seems more popular than ever. Idk what it’s like to be a teenage weeb nowadays but when I was in high school it was Not Cool. But like plenty of popular streamers, youtubers, etc talk about watching anime and stuff so it seems way more accepted. I mean most weebs are probably not going to be the most popular kids in school but still.

But anyway my point with that is like… a lot of people seem to want to go to Japan to live their ultimate anime dream vacation. Or to experience other things that they’ve seen in movies/on youtube/etc. Which I get! Japan has a lot of fun pop culture!! I want to experience those things too! But also Japan has a history and a culture that is way, way older than anime. And I worry that people won’t see that or respect that? There’s so much more to Japan. So much more outside of Tokyo. And of course vacations are expensive and I don’t expect anyone to be able to like, tour the country. But… blah idk exactly what I’m trying to get at here.

I think that a part of me worries that when I do eventually make it to Japan, I’ll be seen as just another foreigner who is there to do the stereotypical White Person Japan Trip. And I can’t help standing out as a foreigner in Japan or help what other people think of me (as much as I wish I could). But as someone who has studied the language and learned a lot about Japanese culture and history outside of its media and pop culture (but also including that stuff), I want to somehow give off the vibe that I’m ~not one of those girls*~. I’m different. I’m special. But also I’m just another white person wanting to go to Japan. Am I really so different? And also, people wanting to live their dream anime vacation are just as valid. And also people go to Japan for more than just anime reasons. Ugh. I feel like kind of a bad and mean person sometimes for looking down on people a bit who I deem as more of a nerd or weebier than me. When a lot of the reason why I feel that way is because I tried so hard to distance myself from my weeby, nerdy past self. At some point I decided that it was a bad way for me to be, and that people wouldn’t like me if I liked anime/manga/etc, so I buried that part of me deep down. Not deep enough to quash it completely, but deep enough that I can hardly enjoy anime (outside of the few that I watched as a kid, because that falls into nostalgia more than anything else) without telling myself that it’s for kids, it’s not worth my time, etc. etc. I can’t let myself enjoy anything!! I can’t even be happy for people going on vacation!!! Aaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!

Anyway wow that got deep at the end. None of this made any sense probably. Bottom line is i hate other people having fun and i want to be special but i’m not special and i’m just a miserable little freak. It’s almost 1:30 am and i am going to bed

You get lost really easily if you can’t find Cornifer to buy the map of the area but that’s the fun part !! Just exploring random places and memorizing stuff is just so nice !! ALSO THE BOSSES OOF, I love every single one of them !! Sure there are some that,,, aren’t that fun, but at the end of the day they’re still pretty enjoyable !! It’s got plenty of nice characters my fav being Quirrel whom I have a plushie of (also a plush of like the void version of the player, plus a silly drawing I made, I would buy more merch but I’m poor also I have more fandoms to attend to so— I have some merch here and there of other stuff so well that’s we’re my money goes to :]]) also also !! The name I use to sign my drawings comes form like the ship name I like from that game yes it’s gay bugs idk why they look cute ig

Wheelchairs are so good tbh, like my stance (and the general disability studies/activism stance) is that if an accommodation makes your life better, you should use it. Doesn't matter if you could do [thing] without it, if it makes doing [thing] easier, you should use it!

Like I could just walk around with a dislocated/subluxated hip, but if I want to walk without pain then I need to use my wheelchair! The first time I ever used one was at a museum, and I realised it was the first time I'd ever enjoyed a museum cause I wasn't in horrible pain for once. After that, I started the process of getting my own wheelchair because it's so much nicer to live a life where I can focus on my surroundings without being distracted by pain!

Ooooh that sounds like lots of fun!! I know one of my friends plays it, but I've never actually seen it played. I may watch some playthroughs/streams of it or something to see if it'd be my sort of game, and if it is then I'll probably get it!! It sounds super cool from how you describe it, and I love the idea of gay bugs~

I inherited a nice fridge (waaaay bigger than my old one AND it dispenses water/ice) which I love but the door isn’t magnetic. The side however is and I keep my knives on a block there along with miscellaneous magnets (including photos 🥲)

I don’t!! My first year at my old place I didn’t bother to have a Christmas tree or anything and lemme tell you that was Controversial. I avoid blackpink thinkpieces but idk why I decided to watch one today (I’ll link it in a separate ask) but…… I have some thoughts. Blackpink are NOT immune to criticism but this creator clearly did no research and is just regurgitating stuff she’s seen on tiktok

The mistakes at the start of tour have done irreparable damage to their reputation. They’re not bouncing back from that I fear. But the lip syncing stuff is so wild bc you can clearly hear the difference between live vocals and the backing track. It’s not hard to find videos of them singing live on this tour bc they do it the majority of the time so I don’t get why they’re still bringing that up

But the male gaze part of the video…… side eye. SIDE. EYE. I don’t get why they’re getting hate for fitting the beauty standard or for losing weight. They’re in a kpop girl group. And of all the groups to criticise for doing aegyo you chose blackpink? (notice how all the clips are years old too)

Then the bit at the end where she said “compared to other groups they have a huge discrepancy between views and streams”…… girl you definitely did no research bc bp is one of the groups where their numbers match

All the comments are like “you’re so brave <3”. Again, bp should be criticised and I get where she’s coming from, but it’s not constructive criticism if you’re just saying things that aren’t true, especially to an audience of 900k

sorry for the late reply but i actually wanted to watch the video! and as so, i can confidently say that that girl is a colossal idiot. she’s criticizing things about them that are true for literally every single gg out there (like being pretty ? is she new to kpop or something bcs name me an idol who isn’t conforming to beauty standards lmao) + and saying they have “problematic” lyrics just bcs they call themselves pretty…. ???? also who in their right mind wants meaningful lyrics and turns to kpop of all places … and the bit where she said them looking and dancing sexy is catering to the male gaze is idiotic and extremely heteronormative, like has she never heard of wlws ?? but even besides that, it’s a stupid claim bcs women can be sexy for their own self, men don’t have to be the centre of everything 😐 the tour backlash is a lot but i dont think it’s gonna be too bad for them bcs the agenda of them being lazy performers or whatever is mainly amongst antis online, and bp have a ton of reach among locals who don’t care about online discourse 🤷🏻‍♀️ and actual fans who have been to the concerts sing praises about them so !! but anw there are undoubtedly things to criticize about bp bcs there are things to criticize about everyone! but this video did not cover valid criticism really, all she did was repeat what basically all their antis say and put some clips and quirky editing over it
