Uuuh I just checked my followers here and found a literal Nazi and some Terfs so just a not so friendly reminder
FUCK NAZIS
FUCK TERFS
I support all Jewish and trans people. They have my love and I’ll never stop fighting for their right to live freely and happily.
I have zero tolerance for bigotry of any kind and if that makes you uncomfortable then unfollow me and fuck you
If I accidentally reblog some homebrew that is offensive - please tell me. I always want to learn and grow and I want everyone (except bigots) to feel welcome here
To all my trans siblings, Jewish friends, and poc that follow me, I love you and I hope you have an amazing day <3

Do posts have to have many notes/have been influential to qualify or is it enough if they're old and very, very good?
my measurement for a heritage post is it has to have been posted between 2010-2016 and have at least 10k notes. the exceptions to this are if i personally think they are funny and/or have heritage energy bc it’s my blog and i do what i want 😌 (ex- the british gerard way post)

if you see me deleting posts it’s cause I’ve been informed or found out their information is incorrect / is being shared maliciously. I want to spread useful stuff without perpetuating any harmful biases, but that’s surprisingly difficult on this hellsite because apparently a much larger amount of people on here than I thought are bloodthirsty bigots.
I have a brain disease that impacts my processing speed and my optic nerves are hyper mobile so I skip sentences when reading, if you see anything in a post I’ve shared that could indicate op is being evil, ESPECIALLY if it’s subtle please let me know and I’ll delete it. The last thing I want is for my blog to make anyone feel unsafe because I was at school and skimmed a post and shared it without checking ops blog or reading every sentence more than once.
I’m aware my medical conditions do not give me a pass to be careless, they are just recent news to me so I hadn’t adjusted to the reality that I need to be careful reading when I shared the posts mentioned.
And Rowan tysm for doing this without me asking. I’m sorry you had/have to so much, but it’s appreciated very much and taught me something important.

Hii so sorry for bothering you but, I love writing I’ve been doing it for a long time. I’d like to post on tumblr but I’m kinda new to it and don’t really know how to use it (gifs, text colors,…) so if it’s okay for you could you maybe teach me how to use it or give me some tips?
hiiii omg no pls don’t apologize !! i’m happy to help <3
ok hmm i’m terms of gifs, there’s a button that says “GIF” whenever you’re making a post, so if you select it, it’ll give you a large selection of gifs you can add to your posts, and you can add up to 10 per post. you can also search for particular gifs you’re looking for, and if they exist, they’ll show up. however, it’s not super common anymore, at least not in engeneblr (the enhypen side of tumblr), to use gifs on posts anymore, unless they’re gif posts of gifs ppl create, which is rlly common and so much credit to them. they’re just as hardworking as us writers! also, fyi, in the GIF function, all those selections of gifs are previously made gifs by ppl on tumblr. meaning, you can actually make your own gifs if you wanted to. however, i’ve never done that before, so i can’t tell you how to do that, sorry sjsjsj ,, also, what i’ve noticed, generally, is that for fics, posts with gifs don’t tend to be as popular as ones with a banner or moodboard, if that’s what you’re using it for. so ig that can lead me to my next point…
here on tumblr, and you can see this with any of my works which you can find in my masterlist (which is basically a library writers create to keep all their works in one place) and you can find my masterlist on my pinned post at the top of my blog. and so yeah, you can look at some of my works for reference as to what a moodboard/banner looks like. and i made a survey a while ago for writers to get insight on what readers prefer (which if you want, you can later check it out, also linked on my pinned post) and readers said what often draws them to fics are the moodboard/banners at the top of the fic post.
in terms of text colours, in that same survey, many readers pointed out that the use of many text colours and fonts is often a turn off. obviously this doesn’t apply to every reader; there are many works on this site that uses lots of text colours and fonts and receive much success, but yeah this just applies to some readers. in terms of how many readers, i don’t exactly know. but ik many have said they do not prefer reading a fic with many text colours. some have also said they don’t like reading fics with the small text (the way you get that is by selecting the text you want to make small and then press the function that basically looks like this “<s>”), but again, there are many fics that have small text that receive lots and lots of recognition, but some readers have expressed that it’s v hard for them to read when done so, however, some find it more aesthetic to have the small text. personally, i don’t use the small text anymore for the actual story part of my works.
but yeah just experimenting and getting experience hands on and learning from what works and what doesn’t (whether that be from your own works or other writers’ works) is v helpful, and that was the way i learned as well. i rlly hope this helps you get started tho :) also, i obviously don’t know how experienced you are with tumblr, so i hope some of this stuff wasn’t just going over stuff you already know, and i hope this was helpful :) there was A LOT that i didn’t cover, so pls lmk what other things you would like help with, if any, like the basics of how to use tumblr, i’m not sure if that would be helpful for you? but i could find you a post on the basic algorithms and stuff if that would help. and yeah if you want me to get into anything else, pls don’t hesitate to lmk. i’m happy to help!
#hope this helps ^_^#again pls don’t hesitate to ask me for more help if you ever need it !!#and good luck on the beginning of this journey for you ^_^#i’m hoping for the best for you ^_^ <3#oh also! idk if you already know this but smth i didn’t get into was there tags !!#as you can see i use the hashtags here to basically write a little more#and ppl often use it as a place to write that’s like not exactly a part of the actual written part of the post if that makes sense?#but if you’re actually using the tags for they’re usual purpose#it’s v helpful for your posts to receive more recognition#if you have no followers and you post smth with no tags#for example if it was an enhypen fic you’re posting you can use tags like ‘enhypen fluff’ ‘enhypen imagines’ etc#(you can check the tags on my works for an idea)#but that helps SO MUCH i cannot even begin to explain#and that’s how you show yourself to the rest of tumblr at the beginning and throughout your journey on tumblr haha#also rbs (reblogs) are v helpful#that just basically reposts yours or someone else’s post onto your blog and that’s rlly great for exposure as well#or if you just want that particular post on your blog ig#you can see that on my blog or anyone else’s; it’s v common#sjsjsjs that was quite compact but i hope it helps !!#also i apologize for any typos in the tags#it’s not easy to fix dksjsjsj#and btw only the first 20 tags on posts actually work so sjsjjs this post won’t show up in my 21st tag+ sjsjsjs but that’s fine#i just hope this helps !!#em answers#yangjungwonforsure <3

Scammer pretending to be Palestinian v5
This post is intended to be a reference to check on when you get an ask that looks suspicious and you want to be sure it’s not a scam account. Asks from blogs with GoFundMe links are not scam accounts so you won’t find them on this list. Accounts who are listed here are scams. For more information, please read this post.
As of 7/13/2024, here is the currently known scam accounts impersonating Palestinians needing aid. Here is a list of commonly used names for these scams as the post would be too long if I included them. Please don’t donate to any blog that’s here and warn anyone sharing their posts.
thoughtfulpersonpersona | karldrogo2 | gaziianaliifatmaah | supportdeeanaah |
None of these accounts are verified as real, are vetted as real, or have been confirmed as real no matter what their post tells you. If you want a list of verified fundraisers, please check out this post. Searching usernames should also help with seeing if someone has already been verified but please be aware that it takes time.
These scammers listed above are taking their posts from real Palestinian fundraisers and passing it off as theirs without linking to the real one. They make names to impersonate actual people and always use a donation pool link for their posts often hiding it behind a linktree link passing it off as a GoFundMe link. These scammers are not on any of the masterlists regarding verified fundraisers if you search.
If you search the scammers asks, you’ll usually find they’ve been at this for almost 3 months now and have been reusing the same asks since with very few changes.
To report scam posts: click the three “…” then select Report -> Something else -> Unlawful uses or content -> Phishing and explain how the account is not legitimate.

Some quick tips to spotting accounts that are pretending to be a Palestinian needing mutual aid. Please keep in mind that not all of them are scam accounts, and that some may legitimate blogs who just aren’t too knowledgeable on how tumblr works. This guide is based around what I go by when checking certain blogs and usually it’s a quick giveaway the blog is a scam.
1. You was sent the ask as someone who regularly shares Palestine related content such as regular news updates of posts by other Palestinians who are regularly giving updates. You may also get these asks from sharing a popular post that is from the Palestine tag. If you post often about Palestine, you will always start getting these asks. These askers don’t care if you state don’t send the asks. They will anyway. Unfortunately minors also get sent asks.
2. The ask has odd formatting such as having odd quotation marks in it or unusual formatting that may indicate it’s been edited and copied from somewhere else. Often the ask is the same thing as the post itself minus a link to a donation site. These asks rarely change so searching it should pull up if it’s been sent to other bloggers and sometimes the asks are edited only to add new phrases to them in time.
3. The account is almost always a few days old or a week old or long depending on how often they have sent asks. Usually some may even be an hour old and reusing a familiar pfp/ask.
4. The blog has a few Palestine related posts or posts from random tags reblogged to pad out length and then no more. They will have no original posts besides the pinned post while occasionally answering asks that they may have received but otherwise nothing else and no further updates given either.
5. They may have a Linktree link that is called “GoFundMe” as if indicating they have a GoFundMe there. However, they don’t. When clicked on, the Linktree actually goes to a PayPal account whose name may not even match the one their supposed name is. They’ll say it’s a friend, but it’s just the same person not someone else. You’ll see this same name across multiple accounts after a while usually giving away it’s not legitimate even under a different theme.
6. The text used by the blogs are often real stories stolen from legitimate fundraisers and searching parts of it in your preferred search engine should pull up the sources. These sources make no mention of a tumblr account either or don’t have the PayPal account associated with them in the info. Scammers often impersonate a real person in need and will ignore you if you show them the source they copied from.
7. Legitimate Palestinians often link to their own GoFundMe posts that their friends have set up or post links to other social platforms they are found on. They will regularly post updates when possible, post sources to support them when necessary, and also generally have some method of verifying their legitimacy. They may often share links to support others as well or give links to charities that have been shown as reliable. They will have more original posts than just a single pinned one and regularly speak to other tumblr accounts beyond just an ask. Please don’t bother them with asks about possible scam accounts. There are many guides out there that can do that for you if you search. You may find verified fundraisers too.
8. Scammers don’t know anything about Palestine and will often have trouble once you ask them anything beyond the mutual aid post. They don’t know the languages decently and you can tell it pretty easily if you’re one who uses it regularly. Whatever the scammers use is often just copied off the site they got the post from. Sometimes the text is just reused from past scams such as asking for insulin that doesn’t last long.
9. These scammers can and will use names stolen off real Palestinians to look more legitimate and trustworthy. They change names constantly once one of their PayPal accounts is shut down.
10. If you do see a GoFundMe link on a blog, don’t immediately assume it’s a scam just because it’s a relatively new account. Check the post notes to see if anyone’s verified the account yet or wait a bit as it takes time. You likely can search around to see if anyone’s posted anything where the blog has been vetted by others. You may also see if the GoFundMe is referred to on other socials or on lists that compile verified and vetted fundraisers.
Please don’t let these scams deter you from sending support where it needs to go. Even if you can’t donate personally, there are other ways to help. If you are sending money, please make sure that it’s going to where it’s needed and the place it’s sent has been verified accordingly. If you find a blog is a scammer, and have been able to prove it, please make sure to alert anyone sharing the post and report the account.

do you do RPs or anything? i'm pretty experienced with self inserts/very self-referential OCs and i prefer to write canon characters personally. i have jotaro down pretty well, my regular partner writes kakyoin but i think i'd do alright, and if you want to tell me how you see leone i'll see if i can come up w something that makes sense and fits my vision too?
Hi anon! I’m not always super comfortable with role plays, I’m sorry! It’s just a little personal quirk of mine but I don’t tend to RP much. I genuinely do appreciate the offer and think it’s very sweet, though between my own level of comfort and how busy I’ve been/bad at checking messages as a result, I don’t know if I’d be the person to ask. I’m happy to hear you have a role play partner already who you seem to click well with, and I hope you find some more people if you’re looking to expand the group!

Writing Character Accents in Fiction
Hey there, thanks for the question! I speak English as a second language; most English speakers I encounter aren’t native (yes, including fictional people); thus, this is a concern I’ve explored personally when I write.
I think the core principle regarding accent writing is this: it shouldn’t be distracting.
For the same reasons why Stephen King prescribes the basic dialogue tag “said” rather than fancier alternatives like “whispered”, “shouted” or “screeched”, dialogue must be first and foremost easy to read. It must flow like a real conversation – the pace and tone are a lot more important than how specific words are being pronounced by the character.
Focus on what effect the accent has:
Using adjectives to describe their voice in general. Different types of English (American, British, Australian, etc.) will give off a different vibe, also partly dependent on how your character speaks in general:
Lilting: Having a smooth rise and falling quality; sing-song like. Welsh accent is often described as singing.
Posh: from a high social class. This is the term generally used to describe the upper-class British accent.
Nasal: this happens when the sound goes through somebody’s nose when they’re speaking. North American accents are more nasal than, say, British pronunciations.
Brash: harsh, loud, indicative of sounding a little rude.
Slur: speaking indistinctly; words merging into one another.
Using metaphors.
Her voice was cotton and fluffy clouds.
When he spoke, the ‘r’s scratched the insides of his throat.
Mentioning their accent with a brief example(s).
“Would you like to drink some wine?” she said, though her Indian accent gave extra vibration to her ‘w’s and ‘r’s, making the words sound more like ‘vould you like to drrrink some vine’.
“I want some chocolate.” His syllables were choppy and ‘l’s rather flat, saying ‘cho-ko-lit’.
Some Tips:
Don’t phonically spell out everything. Perhaps give a few examples in the beginning, but stick to standard English spellings.
Pay attention to word choice, slang, and colloquialisms.
An Australian person would say “tram”, not “trolley; “runners” instead of “sneakers”
A Canadian may refer to a “fire hall” – what Americans call a firehouse or fire station
If your character comes from a non-Enligsh background:
Use vocabulary from other languages.
“What time was the exam, ah? Two o’clock? Jiayou!” → putting “ah” or “la” at the end of sentences + Jiayou means “break a leg” in Singlish.
“I can’t believe that 4-year-olds have their own SNS accounts now.” → “SNS” is short for “social networking service”, a term used to refer to social media in Korea. This would a subtle difference – even though it isn’t technically Korean at all!
Transpose grammar from different languages.
For example, in French, plural nouns take plural adjectives (whereas in English, you would speak of ‘white cars’, not ‘whites cars’).
