Yandere Batfam x Camp half-blood (Neglected reader)
DC x Pjo
Part 4
______________________
"why are they... Bedazzled?" Charles asks, looking at the mass of weapons ranging in designs
Some weapons look like they came straight off Genshin impact, while some look like (Name) just copied off weapon designs from deviant art
One weapon, a claymore, had intricate details on the blade, showing a story, a war, some caves and oceans, and a kingdom
"I got bored so I decided to carve the odyssey on the blade" you smile
They left you alone, in the forgery, for like 12 hours or something, came back to call you for dinner, and they see this
"I have ones, I made for myself, the others we can put in the armory-"
"Ehem, (Name)? May I have a moment with you?" Chiron, is this awesome centaur
When he first saw you he took you to the big house and healed your injuries
"Yes..?" You ask, did you do something wrong? Are unclaimed kids not allowed to stay in the territory of claimed kids? Technically this was a child of Hephaestus thing- but you were brought here? And-
"someone wants to speak with you" Chiron continues and you were snapped out your thoughts
"She is a daughter of Zeus, and I believe you know her already the last time I saw her was when she was a child, still staying on her home island, she is a trust worthy woman" he explained further
This doesn't calm your nerves, cause why, why does a child of Zeus want to see you?
Suddenly a familiar woman walks closer to you "Hey (Name), I was worried sick you know, you could have left a note"
"Diana!" You yell and run up to hug her
You love Diana, back when you were still a robin, and Batman bought you and Damian to meet the justice league
You were left alone in the corner while superman and Batman talked about Jon's and Damian's potential
The other members approached you, one of the reasons you loved being a vigilante was because of them, you had someone to talk to
Flash was like the funny uncle and green arrow was the uncle who tried to one up batman, they were all awesome, but you're favorite was Diana
She had this glow, not glow like green lantern- but this sense that you really mattered to her
____________________
"you're also a demigod?!" You exclaim in surprise, she nods while smiling
She holds your hand "I was thinking you were one too actually, but I didn't have enough proof, Bruce always said you were a target for mutants that's why you had to stop being a vigilante, but it's clear that those were actually monsters"
But then she went quiet "Why don't you come back (Name)? I'll explain everything to Bruce and I'm sure more precautions for your safety would be taken care of"
No it won't.
"D-diana... I don't want to return" you said meekly
"what... Why?"
"I- I'm not welcome back home... See Bruce and his kids- they don't think I'm special enough to stay in their family" you say
"... excuse me?" Diana's demeanor changed, like a cold air blowing over her
You shift and hesitate, but you decide to pull through, it was like a dam burst
Your tears blur your vision, as you go over every general and specific event that you felt unloved and unwanted
You weren't stupid, just because you never received love doesn't mean you don't know what it is, you could tell if someone didn't want you, because you've seen how they love
You've seen how Bruce got protective of his kids, how he cares about them in his own way, how the batsibs have their own dynamics, they claim to dislike each other yet are always by their side when needed
It was just never towards you.
You know what love what, and your relationship with those people, that wasn't love
It was indifference, you remember the first time Barbara talked to you is when you fought with Tim and she yelled at you backing her brother up
It wasn't too late, you could still receive what you've been craving for, but for sure you don't want it from the Wayne's
A few weeks after Damian appeared, his bullying towards you that has gotten worse by the day, you decided to retaliate
_______________________
(Name) Wayne 11 years old
Slap
Ouch, you thought
Jason Todd, the man who claimed Damian was a demon spawn, the man who picked on Damian jokingly
He slapped you for Damian
It was one of those rainy days in Gotham, you're in school, you were having a quiet day till the teacher called out your name
"(Name)! Two days to do the assignment and you passed nothing?! Don't make excuses child, your brother Damian was able to pass it"
You look up confused "But miss I did pass my work"
"where is it!?? Am I a special case of blind that I can see everyone's work but yours?!"
The laughs and Snickers of your classmates echo in the room
Damian had taken your work, and passed it as his
That fucker-
After school back in the mansion you lunge at him
"you spoiled asshole!" Unfortunately Jason was there, and the person who was usually a Damian hater became his apologist cause he went straight to help him
You explained what happened, of course you did, but even after knowing he stood his ground, he even told father and now you're punished
Isolation (as if you weren't isolated enough)
You could live like this, live every day without seeing them
Then it happened, Stephanie was in danger, well both of you were
It was one of Bruce's galas, the Wayne family was staying in a private room, and Harley Quinn broke in, laughing like a maniac, she grabbed the ones near her and which were you and Steph
On hostage both of you, Dick made a move to save Steph, he ran in her direction to try and pry Steph off Quinn's arms
Damian shot the Harley's leg, the one near Steph of course so she had a better chance of getting away
Once Steph was free, Cass hugged her
And then Tim, oh fucking tim
He used his electric staff to electrocute Harley, while she was still holding you
For a great detective he's quite an idiot.
That was it, he didn't even get in trouble with Bruce for that, they tied up Harley quietly and decided to proceed with the gala
Without you of course, come on, you're injured, why would you go with them?
It was like a switch flipped, after that not once have you ever tried to make them love you.
_________________________
"you can't make me go back there- Diana please!" You sob
She hugged you tight "I won't, I won't- I'll find a way to keep Bruce from finding you, I promise"
She kissed your forehead "For now... I want you to keep trying, make friends, if your parent claims you, you'll have new siblings"
"for now, be happy"
__________________________
Ivan Werner sat beside you, he was one of Hephaestus's kids that you made friends with earlier
Diana left a while ago and you were left trying to stop yourself from crying
"the conversation was that intense?" He hands you a handkerchief
You smile and accept "Yeah... It was- about my mortal family, they weren't really the best people"
"I hear that, my mother was a mad inventor who sold inventions that would self destruct to cause harm for the buyers" he says
Your brows furrowed at the implication Ivan's mom might be a villain
"hey- everyone has their past, that's why they end up here, I hope you find your place here in camp (Name), we really like you here"
KEOEOWHFVSBJAIEBD BE AKHRJEO WOSLAKDNDNNSKW
A flash of light appears before the both of you
You take your time trying to adjust your eyes, and you see the campers, Mr.D and Chiron there
"Out of everyone here!?!? You decide to- fraternize with a child of Hephaestus!?! I WONT ALLOW IT, you're too beautiful for him my darling!"
What the fuck?? Who is this extremely rude and gorgeous floating lady?
You haven't even registered the fact that now you're wearing a chitton, your hair has been decorated with pearls and small intricate gold flowers
A pink aura making you glow
"what's going on!?!?" You ask panicked
The beautiful gorgeous, ethereal, pretty, cute, hot, sexy, dashing, charming lady goes to the ground
"Hi dearest!" She smiles
You hear Chiron clear his throat "(Name) Wayne! Child of Aphrodite!"

you love receiving flowers.
at first, you thought it was a such a waste of money. this thought rooted from the fact that you're not from a wealthy family. you weren't poor either. middle class, they would say.
you just turned 8 years old when you realized money doesn't grow on trees. when your parents bought you cake, but when your classmates had their birthdays, they would throw princess parties— cake, flowers, toys, and all.
you didn't want to sound ungrateful, so with a smile, you blew the candles and thanked your parents as they hugged you. regardless, you were grateful with what they can give you.
kuroo was the first one to give you flowers— or should you say, a flower. it wasn't a bouquet, but it was, in fact, a flower.
you both just met at a playground. his family just moved in the neighbourhood yesterday, and thanks to the soft chatters of your mom's neighbour friends, you heard he's the same age as you. the shy person you were, you sneaked out of your house to play in hopes you'd meet him there. (you had no idea what he looked like or what his name was.)
you were on the swings. you've been waiting for a solid hour. at 4:30pm, your parents would have realized you weren't in your room. it was almost dark out and dinner would be ready.
at 4:50pm, you decided maybe he has no interest in playing at the park. you were about to get up when a boy with spikey black hair came running towards you. you took a few cautious steps back before he could reach you while you also noticed the rose in his hand.
"hi! im tetsurou!" he exclaimed, attempting to hide the rose behind him. he sure can't hide things, you thought.
"i just moved here," he swiveled his body just to point where his house was. "it's that one with the white roof!"
although you already knew which house he moved to, you were trying your best to look for it from where you stood. he was much taller than you for someone of the same age.
distracted, the rose that he tried his best to hide from you earlier was now right in front of your small face.
"a rose for you!" he said as he smiled so brightly you almost squinted. hesitant and confused, you took the rose from him anyway.
"y/n," you muttered.
"i saw a rose on the way here and thought maybe i could give it to someone," he explained. "you're the only one here so maybe it's destiny!"
a small smile formed on your lips, fidgeting the rose's torns. maybe it is destiny to wait for you for that long. you're careful not to prick yourself.
you played together for a while because at 5:00pm, the sun was already setting and you thought maybe receiving flowers wasn't so bad after all.
since then, you and tetsurou were inseperable.
Tumblr media
tetsurou gave you another flower shortly after that. he had surprised you with a small makeshift bouquet with three roses wrapped in colored paper.
unlike last time with smiles and bright energy, he gave it to you in a sheepingly manner while muttering a "happy birthday". he added that he kept a silent promise to himself that'd he'd get you at least two flowers, better than last time.
you smiled, your smile reaching your eyes. he was so proud of himself from your reaction. you also noticed the torns were scrapped off. this made your heart swell even more with joy.
"where have you been getting these though?"
he scratched the back of his head, "you know that garden next to—"
"i knew it!" you laughed. you told him to stop stealing your poor neighbour's garden of roses before he gets caught. that lady had the nastiest attitude, you warned. all he did was pout.
a month later, tetsuro got caught stealing roses from your neighbour's garden, and he never attempted to steal the roses ever again. that lady has a nasty attitude, he went to you right after he was scolded by your parents. you shook your head, trying your best not to laugh and tell him "i told you so."
after that mishap, he decided he'd get creative instead. so the next time he gave you flowers, it was purely made out of colored paper. the kuroo tetsuro, at 9 years old, did arts and crafts all on his own and at his own will at that. it took him a whole month just to finish 12 paper flowers.
"why do you keep giving me flowers?"
"i like you, silly."
at 9 years old, you realized you loved receiving flowers.
if the paper flowers wasn't creative enough, tetsurou had given you flowers made out of all sorts of materials: crepe paper, post-it notes, clay, satin ribbons, pipe cleaners, papers from books (don't worry, not out of his text books), and so much more. all of them were so beautiful.
at 10 years old, he gave you a bouquet of flowers made out of crochet yarn. he even told you it took him months to learn how to crochet, master it, and finish the entire thing. little did he know, whenever you visit his house, you could see the crochet yarns, results of failed attempts of crochet flowers, and crochet tools hidden away in one of his cabinets left slightly ajar. he sure can't hide things, you chuckled to yourself.
flowers of all types made out of all kinds of materials were given to you, and all of them you happily received from tetsurou. until at 15 years old, when he had saved enough money for all the years he had given you diy flowers, he surprised you with a bouquet mixed of all types of real flowers after your first day of high school. this is why you can't seem to have a favourite flower, he noticed that too.
"you sure you don't have a favorite flower?" he asked again.
"i'm really coming out blank," you were carrying yet another bouquet of flowers and crochet coin purse he made, walking home together after his volleyball training. "i love all of them the same."
"how about me?" he teased.
you giggled, "but you already know that i love you!"
"we'll make it official someday," he promised.
you nodded, contented. i may not have a favourite flower, but "just because" flowers from you are always the best.
after the both of you turned 17, you two made your relationship official, deciding why wait when both of you were certain you have the rest of your lives to love each other plus bragging rights for that.
on his last year as nekoma's captain and middle blocker, you watched from the sidelines how nekoma lost against karasuno, concluding his last game in high school.
at 18, you gave him a bouquet of flowers of red roses wrapped in mixtures of black, red, and white cellophane. touched, he cried yet again in your arms. kenma and his other teammates watching the two of you from a far, smiling with tears in their eyes waiting to spill.
at 19, you both got accepted to your dream universities. you also got accepted at a cafe for a part time job, whereas tetsurou got accepted in his university's volleyball team. all is well.
on your 3rd anniversary, you both celebrated at an art cafe museum. he had given you a promise ring (soon to be engagement ring, he teased), a handwritten letter, and of course, a bouquet of flowers.
three down, a lifetime to go, part of the letter says. the whole night you both expressed just how in love you were with each other. you actually saw the shreds of the receipt of the ring he purchased under your shared bed. he still can't hide things, you chuckled.
at 21, when both of you graduated uni with flying colors and when he decided to go pro, things started to change.
when the flowers you would receive weren't personally given from tetsurou in the flesh, and instead, they were delivered at your office or at your shared home. when the "just because" flowers turned into "i"m sorry" flowers— "i'm sorry i was late last time" flowers, "i'm sorry i'm never home nowadays" flowers, "i'm sorry i can't update as much", "i'm sorry i can't make it" flowers.
it all became too much.
you were starring at the engagement ring on your finger— one of tetsurou's 5th anniversary surprise— when the doorbell rang. you dragged your feet to the front door, already know what to expect.
by the 10th flowers you received via delivery, you stopped counting. sometimes when tetsurou disappointed or upset you, he would either facetime you, give you flowers, or in rare times, he would be radio silent— not a single text or message or call. because how can he notice you were slowly fading away when he was so busy all the goddamn time?
this cycle repeated over and over again for 2 years. you can tell he tries so hard to keep communicating with you. he loves you that much.
it was 4:50pm, the sun was almost setting and you were in your car waiting for him at the airport. his team was miraculously given a month off to rest from the constant training and leagues. he kissed you as soon as he got inside, putting his things at the back seat. he handed you a single rose made out of paper which was colored with, as you can tell, a red marker.
this was the first time in 24 years that he gave you a lone flower instead of a bouquet.
"i bought you a lot of things! i remembered you mentioning them!" he beemed.
before you could say "you didn't have to" he pecked your lips, wiggling a finger at you. "i missed you. let me you love you just how i have been doing so for the past 24 years."
so for a month, he did. he made it up to you so well, showering you with kisses the moment you wake up and the moment you fall asleep, making love to you in every part of the house, telling you stories and becoming such a loser in love when he expresses how much he loves you all the while rubbing his thumb on the back of your hand, or you being wrapped up in his arms. not a single milimeter of space between the two of you. most of the time, he would do everything, from cooking to cleaning.
when you would eat out together, he would always give you the princess treatment. you barely lifted a finger during the whole month of his stay.
on his last day before he had to leave for overseas again, you wondered when will you ever get married.
and so when he made love to you that night, when he kissed you goodbye, when he texted again that they just landed, you had a sickening feeling in your gut.
for a few weeks, everything was fine until he gradually became radio silent again. this time, he rarely delivered flowers, or called, or texted. this time, he was mostly a ghost.
the first message from him and flowers via delivery was given to you a day late on your birthday, and that's where you decided you just can't do this anymore.
you prolonged it for weeks, even after he said he won't be having any oversea activities for a while. it just wasn't the same anymore. he was still never home.
"i love you," he said out of the blue, his eyes downcasted. all these years, he's still bad at hiding things from you.
"i love you, tetsurou," he turned his head to look at you, dreading what you would say next, "but i think we should break up."
he tried. you both tried, but it just didn't work anymore. maybe it was destiny to wait for you for so long— but that doesn't mean it works. for 24 years, you loved each other so much— but that doesn't mean it works.
after crying in each other's arms, he let you go.
you had the rest of your lives to love each other— but from afar.
Tumblr media
a year and a half after the break up, you were sitting at a cafe, waiting for the blind date your friend at work set up for you. kenma was against the whole idea, but he realized you had the right to move on from kuroo. you and kuroo both did. the two of you were his best friends after all. it was just sad how he had to witness the both of you barely functioning after the break up, all the while doing his best not to talk to you or kuroo about each other.
so when a boy with dark brown hair went inside, quickly approaching you, you thought this was a bad idea.
"are you y/n?"
you nodded slowly, eyeing what he was holding. your heart was in your throat.
his eyes shone, handing you the bouquet— yellow daffodils and red roses.
at that moment you thought:
you hate receiving flowers.

i’ll drown it out
for @steddiesongfics using the song ‘ghost of you’ by 5 seconds of summer
rated m | 2295 words | cw: temporary character death, injury, angst | tags: established relationship, secret relationship, wayne munson is a gift, happy ending, grief and mourning, alternate ending to season 4
🔘🔘🔘🔘🔘🔘🔘🔘🔘🔘🔘
steve wakes up every day to eddie’s face.
it’s the only picture of eddie that wayne doesn’t have in his apartment two hours away.
he doesn’t even think anyone knows it’s framed on his bedside table next to one of eddie’s rings and his guitar pick necklace.
all that’s left of eddie munson is whatever memories these items hold.
steve knows it’s dumb to hold onto things that belong to the people who cared most for eddie when he was alive. if dustin knew he had his necklace, he’d lose his shit.
but wayne knew he needed it, knew way more about their situation than he ever let on before eddie was- well, before he was gone.
steve blinks his eyes, adjusting to the sunlight sneaking through the curtains. he has the day off, but wayne’s coming by for lunch, so he should get up and shower.
he puts the ring on his finger, the necklace around his neck, and heads to the bathroom.
he goes through the motions, same as any other day.
he gets off in the shower, thinks about eddie’s hand around his neck while he fucks him from behind. doesn’t cry until he’s washed all the evidence of his own thoughts away.
he brushes his teeth and styles his hair, though he doesn’t put as much product in it anymore. robin says it’s causing hair loss. he doesn’t have the heart to tell her it’s probably the mourning of the love of his life.
he hasn’t told her about what eddie was to him at all.
he doesn’t think he can yet. or ever.
he goes downstairs and tidies up as much as he can. it’s not that messy, really. a dish in the sink from last night, his laundry basket full of clean clothes sitting on the couch ready to fold and put away, an empty beer can on the counter that never made it to the recycling bin.
he turns on the stereo to have some noise, to drown out the thought of eddie trying to make a trick shot off the trash can and making it. saying something like “bet i could’ve made the team with moves like that, huh, baby?”
he bites his lip and takes a shaky breath.
when wayne is here, it’s easier. they catch up on things. steve hears about wayne’s job at the mechanic shop and the woman he’s been seeing. steve tells him about the kids and robin, the new movies coming out that look decent.
they talk about eddie. that part is harder, but it’s not bad. steve gets to be open and honest with wayne in ways he can’t be with anyone else and wayne gets to talk about the only family he cared about. it’s nice.
but when wayne leaves, everything feels worse for a bit. he’d never tell wayne that, but it’s true.
for days after, he’s left in a cycle of anger, depression, grief, and jealousy. he ignores everyone and everything as much as he can. he wears eddie’s vest to sleep, to work, around the house. he cries as much as he doesn’t.
robin’s caught him once, when he was crying on the kitchen floor. the dinner he was making was burning. he brushed it off, said he just felt overwhelmed with his parents leaving him the house and having to volunteer. said he was so tired and just needed a break.
she believed him and worked his shift the next day, which gave him the chance to cry in bed and then get over himself.
he doesn’t realize how long he’s been sitting on the couch staring into space until wayne’s ringing the doorbell. steve jumps up and shuts off the music, ignoring the pang in his chest at realizing the tapes had changed to a Metallica one at some point.
everything is great. he’s smiling and laughing at wayne explaining the suburban mom dragging her two kids into the shop to explain what they did to her gas tank and making them help fix it. he’s nodding along as wayne talks about bringing faye to a nice restaurant in Indy for their anniversary next month.
and then things derail.
“sometimes i wish you could meet someone like faye. makes you forget about all the bad parts of life.”
steve knows he doesn’t mean he forgets eddie, but that’s what steve’s fragile heart hears anyway.
“i wouldn’t want someone to make me forget. i don’t want anyone except eddie.”
wayne looks at him like his heart’s breaking for him, but he doesn’t say anything.
at least not until steve starts cleaning up their lunch dishes.
his hand wraps around steve’s wrist as he speaks.
“eddie wouldn’t want ya to be lonely, steve. you can’t be happy with a ghost.”
and that’s just it.
he’s not trying to be happy with a ghost. he knows it’s impossible.
he’s just trying to survive with what he has left.
it’s a difference he knows he can’t explain, especially not to wayne.
so he smiles, nods, and continues with his cleaning while wayne thankfully changes the subject.
one year without eddie down. a lifetime to go.
****
year two is harder, despite everyone saying it gets easier over time.
it gets harder because he can’t explain why he still changes the station when ozzy plays on the radio. it’s harder because the nightmares get worse. it’s hard because waking up to a picture of eddie is cold, and no amount of sweaters and blankets can help him feel warm.
robin figures it out in march of that year.
steve doesn’t notice the date at first, not until dustin calls and asks if he wants to go visit eddie’s grave. he turns it down, says he has to work. it’s the truth, but he knows robin would have covered for him if he asked.
when he shows up to work, dark circles under his eyes, hair limp, robin tugs him to the floor behind the counter.
she pulls the chain of his necklace out of steve’s shirt.
tears spring up in her eyes.
they sit wordlessly for what feels like hours, but could’ve only been a few minutes. the door beeps when someone comes in and robin stands on shaky legs to assist. it gives steve an extra few minutes to get himself together.
she comes over after work and steve tells her everything. he doesn’t even cry until the end.
but he doesn’t stop crying for hours. and it’s really hours this time.
robin holds him, and he cries.
****
years three and four flew by.
especially when the kids graduated.
they aren’t kids anymore and all of them will be off to college in the fall.
after the ceremony, steve stops by eddie’s grave, something he doesn’t usually do in broad daylight. not because he’s ashamed or even scared, but because he knows seeing the reflection of his name on the headstone in the sunlight will send him into a grief-stricken spiral that he doesn’t have time for most days.
he sits with his back against the headstone, pretends it’s eddie’s chest and they’re just in steve’s bed, shooting the shit after making each other see stars.
“you’d be proud of them. they’re all off to do cool shit. nerd shit.” steve leans his head back and looks up at the clouds. “stuff you’d probably get a lot better than me. dustin tried explaining his major to me and i think i blacked out.”
he gulps, feels a sob building in his chest.
“i miss you. you should be here.”
he stays for a while after that, staring up at the sky and hoping that if a tear falls from his face, it at least waters the flowers growing under him.
he gets up eventually, because he has to get the gifts he got for everyone and head to their joint graduation party. joyce asked him to come early so he could help hop with setting up the bonfire.
“i’ll try to stop by again soon. don’t forget about me.”
steve walks away feeling heavier.
****
year five is when shit hits the fan.
robin transfers to a university in chicago and the kids are gone and joyce and hopper decide to travel since all the kids have gone and steve just stays.
wayne and faye get married after years of back and forth on it. wayne wants to, but faye thinks they’re fine without all the “hullabaloo” of a wedding. they compromise on having a small gathering at the courthouse, steve and faye’s two sons as witnesses. they all go out to lunch after.
it’s nice.
steve goes home to his empty house, and stares at the picture of eddie.
he doesn’t know the last time he really looked at this picture. he sees it every day when he wakes up, when he goes to bed. but it’s quick, and he’s half asleep.
as he stares at it now, he sees that there’s a hole near eddie’s stomach. it’s not a burn mark, but it might as well be.
and steve knows for a fucking fact it wasn’t there when he framed the picture.
weird shit happens in hawkins. that’s a fact.
but weird shit hasn’t happened in five years, not since eddie died to make sure weird shit didn’t keep happening.
this is weird shit.
he holds the frame in his hand. it’s not broken. it looks brand new, actually.
but the hole is there nonetheless.
with trembling hands, steve removes the picture from the frame. he thinks he’s seen where professionals can repair minor damage to photographs, but it’s probably not easy to find someone he can trust. not with this.
the hole is exactly where eddie’s wounds were the worst.
that’s just a coincidence, surely.
he brushes his fingertips across eddie’s beaming face, then the hole in the picture.
his side aches, deeply, like when the bats dug their teeth into him and tried to take him before they knew what they were dealing with.
the air feels thick, his chest feels weighted, and then darkness wraps him up in a thick blanket.
the picture falls from his grip as he loses consciousness.
****
“c’mon big boy. stay with me.”
steve blinks his eyes open and immediately wishes that he’d pass out again.
the pain is like nothing he’s felt before, all encompassing, lightning in every nerve-ending.
“sh, sh, sweetheart. it’s okay. we’re getting you help.”
steve can only whimper in response as he feels an explosion of pain in his side.
“is he breathing?” another voice is nearby, but steve can’t tell who it is.
“has the bleeding stopped?” that’s nancy. she’s much closer than the other voice.
he thinks hands are on him, but he’s starting to go blissfully numb.
“steve, open your eyes. we’re almost there.”
it’s eddie. of course it’s eddie.
his big eyes are watery, scared. steve doesn’t like when he’s upset.
he uses everything he has to grab the hand against his side. eddie’s rings are cold, almost a relief against the heat of his own skin.
“glad it’s me, not you,” he manages to say.
and he is.
because he knows that if eddie was the one who died, he’d never make it through.

steve hates waking up to noise. he’s told robin a million times to turn off her damn alarm when she stays over.
he blinks his eyes open slowly.
oh.
that’s not robin’s alarm. that’s the heart monitor next to him.
the heart monitor that’s hooked up to him.
he feels a tug in his side and realizes he’s being held together by stitches and a familiar weight on his arm.
eddie’s asleep on his arm.
not dead. not injured.
maybe a little grimy.
but alive.
steve can’t contain the sob he lets out.
it wakes eddie up. he’s never been a heavy sleeper, even when he was exhausted.
“stevie?”
another sob escapes steve. he feels like he’s missed eddie for years, feels like every moment he’s been without eddie passed at a snail’s pace and every second was filled with loneliness.
“you’re okay,” steve rasps out as tears fall down his cheeks, his neck, into his greasy hair.
“i’m okay?! you’re okay!” eddie is squeezing his arm and it hurts, but steve doesn’t care. he doesn’t want eddie to ever stop touching him, even if it hurts. “you almost died! i had control over the situation! what happened to not being heroes?”
steve’s smiling. it hurts to smile. eddie’s loud and his ears are ringing.
he doesn’t care. he’s alive. eddie’s alive.
“stevie? can you hear me?”
“hard not to, honey.”
eddie’s quiet for long enough that steve worries he dreamt him up. it wouldn’t be the first time. or maybe it would be. was any of that real? being without eddie?
“sorry. am i being loud?” eddie whispers and it’s good. everything’s good.
because eddie is here. steve is in pain, but eddie is here. this is real. it’s not a dream or his imagination or a delusion.
“a little.”
“sorry, baby. you scared me.”
“you scared me first.”
steve feels the pull of exhaustion, and he knows whatever is pumping through the needle in his arm is going to knock him back out within a matter of minutes.
“i protected dustin.”
“and i protected you.”
eddie huffs something between a laugh and a sigh. steve’s eyes are closed, but he can picture eddie’s face so clearly.
“you’re gonna owe me a million kisses when you can stay awake for longer than two minutes,” eddie says quietly.
steve smiles.
he’s pretty sure he won’t be able to keep his lips off him now that he knows he doesn’t have to live with the ghost of him.

note: the last part is here, and this is a long one; thank you all for your love for this mini-series. <3
series masterlist
You can't help but smile as you watch Terry and Jasmine singing together in the kitchen while preparing breakfast.
This has become a delightful routine over the past year. Terry often comes over and cooks for the two of you.
Whether it's breakfast or dinner, he did it, and also, sometimes, he'll help you around the house or run errands.
The family dynamics have improved significantly and have experienced much growth, especially in Terry.
He has always been a great father to Jasmine; there was no doubting that.
It was just nice to have him leading and guiding equally in the household.
Now that you two have been in a romantic relationship for almost a year and a half, he has shown you a different side of him.
After some time, you decided to ask Terry to live with you and Jasmine.
“Good morning, my loves,” you said, walking into the kitchen with a big smile.
Terry turned around, his eyes lighting up.
“Good morning, baby,” He greeted you with a kiss on the lips and a warm hug.
"Morning, Mommy," Jasmine said, smiling happily before looking between her parents.
She was so happy to finally see you two together.
"We made you pancakes," he proudly announced, gesturing toward the stack of butter-up pancakes.
Jasmine grinned and nodded enthusiastically, adding, "And I helped with the bacon and eggs, Mommy!"
Her excitement was infectious, and you couldn't help but feel a swell of pride at how much she had grown.
"Thank you, sweetheart. You did a good job; both of you did. It looks delicious," you replied, cupping her cheek affectionately.
As you all sat down at the table, the room filled with the warm aroma of freshly cooked pancakes, crispy bacon, and salt and pepper cheese eggs.
Conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter, and shared stories from the week.
Moments like these reminded you how glad you and Terry worked out and the strength and love that bound your little family together.
After breakfast, Jasmine dashed off to prepare for the day, leaving you and Terry in the kitchen.
He reached across the table, taking your hand in his. "I was thinking," he began, his deep voice gentle yet filled with excitement.
"Maybe we could go on a camping trip...just the three of us...I know how you feel about the outdoors, but I think it would be fun."
"You're right; you know me, baby! Sister can't deal with the bugs and heat," you said playfully.
"But that sounds great, Terry," you replied, squeezing his hand. Terry smiled, his eyes twinkling with anticipation.
"So you wanna go? We can go this weekend, and I know the perfect spot for us to camp at."
"Okay, do you think Jazzy will be excited?" you asked, thinking about how much Jasmine loved exploring new things.
"Hell yeah," Terry chuckled.
"She's been talking about wanting to see the stars and learning how to fish for the longest."
You nodded with a smile, “Okay, let’s go this weekend.” Terry smiled.
-
It was the weekend of the camping trip, and Terry packed the car with a large tent, sleeping bags, camping gear, and plenty of snacks and water for the road.
"Are you excited, sweetie?" you asked, with a smile. Jasmine was already buzzing with excitement, her eyes wide with wonder.
"Yes, mommy. Let's go!!!!!!!" She said, clutching her favorite stuffed animal, ready for the journey ahead.
After a few hours of driving, you arrived at the campsite. Terry expertly navigated the car to a secluded spot by a tranquil lake.
The water shimmered under the afternoon sun so beautifully, inviting and calm.
Jazzy was the first to leap out, her laughter echoing as she ran to the lake's edge.
"Jasmine, girlllll" You jumped out of the car and called her name, holding a bottle of nontoxic bug spray in your hand, before following her.
Terry chuckled, began getting the stuff out of the car, and set up the tent.
Jasmine assisted you in gathering sticks for a campfire. Her determination was so precious that you couldn't help but smile.
The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink; you all gathered around the crackling fire.
Jasmine's eyes sparkled with joy as Terry began to tell a story about constellations, pointing out the stars overhead.
“You know....the Big Dipper was the drinking gourd in the South. The two stars at the end of the Big Dipper point to Polaris, the North Star.” He explained.
"That’s cool! Did you hear that, Mommy?" She asked, glancing at you, and you nodded in response.
“I certainly did, sweetie,” you replied with a smile.
Jasmine nodded, returning her focus to her daddy, and after that story, you all enjoyed some delicious s'mores.
The crackling of the fire provided a comforting sound to the night, while the stars above twinkled like a million tiny lanterns, gently lighting the gathering.
Jasmine's eyelids began to droop, and she snuggled closer to you, her head resting gently on your shoulder.
You could feel her little body's warmth and hear her breathing's soft rhythm—a melody more precious than any symphony.
"Time for bed, I think," you whispered, brushing a twisted braid from her forehead.
"Yeah." She nodded sleepily, slowly getting up and giving Terry a goodnight hug.
It looked like she whispered something in his ear before moving towards you.
You entered the tent together, dressed Jasmine in her pajamas, and tucked her into her sleeping bag.
You kissed her goodnight as she murmured, "I love you, Mommy," her voice barely above a whisper.
”I love you too, sweetie," you replied before walking out of the tent to catch Terry slowly throwing flower petals on the ground.
Your gaze shifted to the small table, where a bouquet of your favorite flowers, two glasses filled with wine, and chocolate candies were placed.
Also, romantic music was playing from his Bluetooth speaker. You had no idea Terry was up, but you liked it.
"What are you doing?" You asked with a small smile.
Terry turns to you in surprise. "Shit, you came out faster than I expected." He chuckles.
"Uh...I wanted to do something special for ya," he says, handing you the glass of wine from the table, which you gladly took from him.
You both cuddled on the wide wooden chair, enjoying the wine and the music until your favorite song came on.
Terry got up and held his hand out. “Come on, baby girl, show me those dancing moves,” he said, smiling playfully.
You smiled in return and took his hand; you both swayed to the rhythm, sharing laughter while also being slightly quiet.
“This is how you dance, mama. That's all you need,” he said, demonstrating two steps that made you yawn.
You respond, "No, this is how you do it," you say as you sway your body, performing body rolls and shaking your hips.
“You right, let those hips shine! Hips don't lie, huh?” he chuckles in reply, drawing you closer as the song shifts to a slow tune.
The world around you seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you wrapped in the moment's magic.
The moon cast a silvery glow over the campsite, its light dancing on the leaves and painting intricate patterns on the ground.
“You know I love you, right?” He asked so softly, and you nodded.
“Yeah...I know you do, and I love you too.”
“And you know you are the best thing that’s ever happened to me, right? You bring me so much love and happiness; you've been there for me through thick and thin and given me so much at times...I didn't deserve it, but you still gave. I'm so grateful to have you; I thank God every day for sending such an extraordinary woman like you; you are an amazing mother and an amazing girlfriend, and I can't live without you,” He said so passionately.
You nodded, getting a little emotional. “I know, baby, I know. Where are you going with this, Terry?”
“I love you, girl, and I wanna spend the rest of my life with you, and it’s only right if we...make this shit official,” he said, getting down on one knee.
You stood there, hand covering your mouth in disbelief, as you watched your dream unfold before your eyes and become a reality.
"Will you marry me, baby, and become Mrs. Richmond?" Tears welled up in your eyes, a mix of surprise and overwhelming joy.
The sincerity and love in Terry's eyes were undeniable, and the world seemed to hold its breath, waiting for your response.
You took a deep breath, your heart swelling with happiness, and nodded fervently.
"Yes, a thousand times yes!" you exclaimed, your voice filled with emotion.
Terry smiled and slid the ring onto your finger before pulling you in for a kiss and then into a warm embrace.
“Yay, you did it, Daddy,” she exclaimed. Startled, you turned to see her with her camera out, taking pictures.
"What? Did you two plan this?" you asked in shock. They both laughed, exchanging a knowing glance.
"Well," Terry admitted with a playful shrug, "Jasmine and I might have had a secret mission. We wanted this moment to be perfect for you."
Jasmine giggled and ran over to hug you. "I helped pick the ring, Mommy! Daddy said you would love it."
You gazed down at the beautiful ring on your finger, its sparkle almost as bright as the love you felt in your heart.
"It is perfect, sweetie. You did a good job" you whispered, pulling her into a tight embrace.
The night continued with celebrating this new chapter together. The next morning, the three of you had breakfast, went hiking, and returned to the campsite.
The serene lake glistens under the afternoon sun as you, Terry, and Jasmine are excited to reel in some big catches.
“Alright, princess. Hold it like this, then swing it into the water like this,” he instructed, guiding her hands.
Jasmine looked a bit anxious. ”I don’t know if I can do it, Daddy.”
“You can do it, Jazzy. I know you can; I’ll be here if anything goes wrong,” he reassured her.
"Okay," she says. With a determined look, she casts the line. It sailed through the air, landing gently on the lake's shimmering surface.
“Let's go!!!!!,” Terry said, proudly clapping, and she smiled in delight.
The sun warmed their backs as they waited, and the gentle lapping of the water against the shore created a soothing sound.
After a while, the line tugged slightly, and Jasmine's eyes widened with excitement.
"I think I've got something!" she exclaimed, her voice a mix of surprise and joy.
Terry moved closer, offering guidance while still allowing her the thrill of the catch.
Slowly, with careful encouragement from Terry and you, she reeled in her first fish—a small salmon fish.
Her face lit up with pride as you pulled out your phone to take a quick picture of her catch.
“Good Job, sweetie!" you cheered, high-fiving her.
The rest of the camping trip was unforgettable and filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys of being together.
When you returned home from your camping trip, you and Terry immediately announced your engagement to your family and friends.
They are all very happy for both of you, especially your mom. Your parents offered to pay for the entire wedding for you and Terry.
So, a month later, you found yourself dealing with some stress while planning this damn wedding.
Your mom mostly handled all the arrangements, and you just agreed to everything to keep her happy, forgetting it was your wedding.
You did stood your ground with her, about choosing the wedding dress of your dreams.
You smiled happily at yourself in the mirror. This had been the sixth wedding dress you had tried on, and you think this was one.
"Oh my God, this is the one," you said, coming out of the dressing room with tears streaming down your face.
Your mom, your sister, and Jasmine cheered and screamed joyfully before rushing to you and pulling you into a group hug.
"She said yes to the dress!" Your mom blurted out loud in the boutique.
You chuckled and then returned to the dressing room to change your clothes.
Once you were dressed, you came out of the dressing room holding the dress you wanted.
Three of you continued to shop, and you felt your phone vibrate; it was an incoming call from Terry.
A little surprised that he was calling, considering he was with his cousin Mike (he's still alive) and a few of his friends.
You were happy to see his name light up on your screen; he probably missed you.
"Hey, darling," you said sweetly as you approached a secluded area to talk to him.
There was no response, only rustling and faint voices in the background.
"Terry, are you there?" you asked, still waiting for a response, but hearing nothing.
You were about to press the hang-up button when you heard Terry's voice.
"All she does is talk about this damn wedding and has become a fucking bridezilla all because of her mom; like, everything has to be big, over the top, and fancy. It's getting fucking annoying, man"
Your heart sank momentarily as you realized you may have been a bit of a bridezilla, influenced by your mom.
You wonder why Terry couldn't just tell you that, not to his fucking boys.
"So, big dawg, do you still wanna marry her?! Cause if I was you, I wouldn't put up with this bullshit," his friend spoke, you knew who exactly said that.
"Of course I do, but if it continues like this, I don't know," Terry sounded unsure of his answer.
Mike said, "Chill, cuz you're not about to call the wedding off; you love that girl. Just talk to her."
You pressed the hang-up button before they continued their conversation.
Your heart was in your stomach, and you struggled to pull yourself together, unsure if you wanted the dress.
You made an excuse about getting Jasmine home, and the owner of the bridal boutique was nice enough to hold everything for you.
Once you arrived home, you made lunch for yourself and Jasmine, and then the two of you watched a movie together.
About an hour later, you heard the front door open. He walked into the living room and greeted Jasmine with a hug.
"Jazzy, go play in your room. Your dad and I need to talk," you said, looking at her.
"Okay, Mommy," she nodded with a sigh and went upstairs.
"Hey, baby, what's wrong?!" He asked, making his way towards you and going for a kiss, but you tilted your head away from him.
Terry gave you a confused look as his brows furrowed, watching you carefully.
"Baby, are you okay? Did something happen?" He asked, taking off his jacket and throwing it onto the other couch before sitting next to you.
You tried your best to contain yourself but couldn't; you had to express your frustration.
"No, I'm not okay, Terry. You butt-dailed me and I heard everything you said to your cousin and friends. So, do you want this back?" You asked, sliding the engagement ring off of your finger.
Terry clenched his jaw and bowed his head down briefly; the guilt swept through his expression.
"No, I don't want the ring back."
"Oh, really, then what's going on?" you asked, raising your voice slightly.
"Lately, I've been feeling overwhelmed with this shit, and plus, baby, you've been a little of a bridezilla, you and your mom have been...." he said, trailing off on the last part.
"Okay. I understand that, and I'm sorry for my behavior, but you could've told me that, not to your fucking boys. Terry, I love you. We have a daughter, and I want to be your wife. I just need to know before anything goes far. Are you ready to get married?"
"Of course, I am ready, baby! I'm sorry. I should have told ya how I was feeling, but you and your mom kind of made it hard to communicate."
"So it's our fault?" You asked, getting a little defensive, crossing your arms in front of your chest.
"No, kind of, maybe! Look, I don't want to fight, I just think we don't need a big, over-the-top wedding to express our love; a small one with family and a few friends wouldn't hurt, don't you think? Shit...it can be it's just you, me, and Jasmine for all I care," He said honestly.
You took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, Terry, for making you feel like you couldn't tell me how you felt. I never meant to do that, baby. Plus, you are right. If I was being honest, I was doing it all for my mom 'cause she's paying for the wedding," you said, caressing his face.
"I know, baby. She's gotta understand this is our wedding, not hers. She's married already; maybe you should talk to her," he said softly.
"Yeah, I'm going to talk with her tomorrow," you said with a slight smile.
"So, we good?" he asked with a returning smile, and you nodded, moving to sit on his lap.
"Yeah, we're good, big daddy," you said teasingly, kissing his lips before going to his neck.
"Don't start something you know you can't finish, baby girl." He warned playfully.
With a mischievous giggle, you uttered, "I can finish you in my mouth," you joked, pulling him into another kiss.
The next day, you chatted with your mom, who completely understood that she had overstepped some boundaries.
After three months of re-planning, the day of your and Terry's small, intimate wedding arrived quickly.
You stood in front of the mirror and couldn't help but admire how your wedding dress highlighted your curves.
There was a knock at the door of the bedroom. Jasmine entered wearing a light pink floral dress and a flower crown in her natural hair.
Your dad followed, wearing a grey tuxedo with a light pink rose boutonniere.
You turned around with a huge smile on your face. Jasmine was the first to hug you, followed by your dad.
With a warm smile, she exclaimed, "Mommy, you look so incredibly beautiful."
"Thank you, sweetie. You look so adorable, my little flower girl," you said, swirling her around, which made her giggle.
You glanced at your dad and saw the emotions playing across his face.
"My firstborn has grown up. You look beautiful, sweet pea," your dad says with a proud smile, tears coming down his face.
"Thanks, Dad," you said, tears welling in your eyes. You hesitated to wipe them, not wanting to ruin your makeup.
"Here, Mommy," Jasmine said, handing you a tissue. You thanked her, and then there was another knock on the door.
Your wedding planner came to tell you it was time as she escorted Jasmine, and you gave her a kiss on the cheek as she departed.
"Ready, sweet pea?" your dad asks, holding his arm out. You nod with a smile and take hold of his arm.
The pianist began to play, and everyone stood up, gazing down the line toward you.
You and your dad stepped onto the sand where the flower petals led to the altar.
You took a deep breath and looked at your dad, who had his arm locked to yours.
He smiled and squeezed your arm, and then the two of you began walking down the aisle.
You attempted to pacify your emotions, but to no avail; when your gaze met Terry's, the harsh reality struck you like a ton of bricks.
You were about to marry the love of your life, the father of your child. You had been waiting for this moment your entire life.
Terry looked handsome in his cream tuxedo, smiling from ear to ear and rolling happy tears down his face.
"Dad, you'll catch me up if I bust my ass, right?" You whispered, which made him chuckle, and he gripped your arm tighter.
"Of course, sweet pea," he asked, "feeling nervous?" as you continued down the aisle.
"Nervous and excited," you whispered with a slight smile, and he nodded as you two finally reached the altar.
You step forward, and Terry clears his throat and wipes his eyes. Your dad kisses you on the forehead before placing your hand into Terry’s.
"You look incredible, baby," he murmurs, gently kissing your hand.
You smile as you caress his cheek and whisper, "So do you, handsome man."
The officiant began speaking and swiftly moved through the ceremony, getting to the "I dos" and vows, and finally, you two heard the words.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!" The officiant says with a smile.
Terry pulls you close, his hand wrapping around your waist, as he tenderly cups your cheek and softly presses his lips against yours.
The crowd erupted in cheers and applause as both of you basked in the moment.
However, you couldn't help but break away from each other, your faces beaming with the unmistakable joy of being deeply in love.
Excitedly, you and Terry turned towards your friends and family; Jasmine rushed up to join you.
Terry picked her up, and together, hand in hand, you all walked down the aisle as husband and wife and as a family.
Right after the lovely reception, you and Terry headed to your honeymoon suite for the night.
When you entered the room, you couldn't resist each other. You unbuttoned his shirt while he unzipped your dress, and you jumped out.
You kissed him as your hands went to unbutton his pants, and pushed them down.
Terry kicked them off before admiring the lingerie you were wearing.
He smirked and suddenly ripped your bra off from the back, making your plump breasts plop out, which you squeal in excitement.
"So fucking sexy!" Terry whispers as he picks you up, gently lays you on the bed, and begins leaving kisses on you.
His kisses always made you feel good and turned on. His hands lightly caress your waist up and down.
Terry was so slow and gentle with his motion; He stopped to stare at your breasts, licking his lips at the sight.
He takes both hands and squeezes your breasts roughly, causing a squeak to escape your throat.
"Fucking love your tits, baby," Terry says, beginning to suck at them, causing a moan to ripple through your throat.
He flicked his tongue on your nipple before leaning up and kissed your lips tenderly,
His lips caused a shiver to go up your spine. Terry pulls away and takes the rest of your lingerie off as well as his boxers.
You two love admiring each other's bodies like it was the first time seeing them.
His skin glowed beautifully in the light that you saw him in, his muscular body was sculpted amazingly, and his dick was lengthy and wide.
Terry noticed that you were checking him out, and a smug smile appeared on his face.
Curious, His eyes sparkled as he asked, "Like what you see?"
You responded with a nod and a wide grin, replying, "Always...daddy."
Terry began kissing your belly to the inner corner of your thigh; he stopped and became extremely gentle, lightly running his fingers up your wet folds.
You moaned, feeling a shiver go up your spine as he circled and rubbed at your pussy.
"I love the beautiful sounds you make, baby," He says, slipping a few fingers inside you.
You gasp loudly, feeling the great sensation of his fingers thrusting in and out of you fast.
"Terry, please," you moaned as he picked up the pace, feeling your center warm up and become soaked with juices.
This caused him to stop, pulling his hand away from your warmth.
You whined softly afterward, looking down at him with half-lidded eyes.
Terry's eyes were darker than before. "You need daddy's dick, don't you?"
"Yes!" You nod, and he climbs on top of you and rubs the tip against your wet folds, causing you to whine impatiently.
He leans down to your ear. "How much do you need it?"
Terry posed another question, and you responded with a desperate whine.
"So much, Daddy, please fuck me!" You begged, trying to get some friction, which made him grin seductively.
"I'mma give you what you want, baby girl," He says deeply before thrusting his entire length into you.
You gasped loudly, making your back arch up, and he pulled you in a kiss.
"Fuck, you were perfectly made for me, baby," Terry says, pulling out and thrusting back into you.
This action makes you cry, gripping Terry's biceps while he grips your wide hips, beginning to thrust in and out of you at a slow pace.
"Faster, Daddy," You gazed up at me, biting your lip with a mix of desire and love.
"Like this?" He asked, beginning to pick up the pace, gripping your hips a bit tighter.
"Fuckfuckfuck, yes" You cried with a nod. Terry began to watch your breasts bounce up and down with each thrust, loving the movement.
You placed your hands on his chest, letting out loud moans as he began to thrust deeper, feeling his dick hit your sweet pot.
"Fuck! Fuck me, Terry, ahh fucking put a baby in, Daddy," you cried, which made him smirk.
"You wanna another baby, 'cause I'll fucking give it to ya," He asked, locking your feet over his ass and pounding into you faster and deeper.
"Yes, please fuck me, yes," You cried in his ear, whipped your head, and gripped his back for dear life at this position.
Terry grunted at your answer, seeing in his eyes picturing you, months from now, belly round and tits swollen, pregnant with your second baby.
"You sure you want me to fill you up? Fuck a baby into you? Let everyone see how I put another baby in you, pretty momma?" he asked for reassurance.
“Yes, please fuck! I want it; I wanna another baby,” You begged, digging your fingers into his broad shoulders.
You loved his heavy moans and the wet gust sound of your pussy and his dick slapping against each other repeatedly.
"Please!" You said, clenching around him.
Terry moaned and loved the way your pussy sucked him in with its warmth and wetness, ready to milk him for that second baby.
“Fuck, you really wanted huh? Fucking clenching that dick, milking it. I'll fill you up and put a baby in, shit fucking around, fill you up for days on this honeymoon and just to get you pregnant.”
He spread your legs a little bit wider to go much deeper, and with each thrust, the whole bed started making a squeaking sound.
"Ahh, yes fuck Daddy, that's what I want. Fuck, you feel so good, so fucking deep, ahh."
You moaned, feeling yourself getting closer to the edge. You couldn't hold back.
"Oh my god, I'm gonna cum-fuckfuckfuck," You cried, feeling your eyes roll in the back of your head as you came hard.
'That's it, baby girl. Fuck...daddy's right behind fuck ya...." He says, keeps thrusting deep inside of you.
"Fuck here it comes," He grunted as his whole body jerked as hot cum spurted inside of you.
You both stayed in that embrace, catching your breath and coming down from the amazing high.
Terry made sure every drop of his cum was inside of you before pulling out.
He flipped his back on the bed and wrapped his arms around you.
"You think we did it? You think there's a baby in there?" he asked, gently stroking your belly, causing you to giggle.
"We'll just have to wait and see; if not, we can keep trying," you replied, gazing up at him before tenderly kissing his lips.
The soft glow of the moonlight streamed through the curtains as you both lay there, envisioning the possibilities that awaited you.
The room enveloped you in a soothing silence, broken only by the gentle cadence of your breaths.
"I love you, baby, so much" he murmured, his voice brimming with love.
"I love you too, Terry," you whispered back, feeling a warmth spread through your heart.
The night seemed to wrap around you, a cocoon of dreams and whispered hopes.
You both knew that whatever the future held, you would face it together, hand in hand, hearts entwined.
Sleep began to pull you under, and you smiled, knowing that this was just the beginning of your forever ever after.

hi ella💐 hope ur doing well!! i wanted to share a couple of success stories that have happened over the last 3 months. 💓
some of them happened without even really affirming it and others happened because i affirmed repeatedly.
1. in may i scripted that i had a trust fund that has maybe about 1.5 million dollars. and so like a week after i scripted that me and my family were sitting at the dinner table and my dad told me i had a trust fund and it’s already in the millions!! i was so shocked that it materialised so quickly😭
2. about 2 weeks ago i started affirming that i can complete my school work easily and quickly and i actually have motivation for it. im homeschooling and this was my biggest issue with it and recently i’ve realised that i actually look forward to it more‼️
3. in about less than 2 hours i manifested that i wouldn’t have to ask “this person” (idk how to describe it) to do something for me and that they would just do it and text me that they did that thing for me. for this one i listened to a subliminal and affirmed repeatedly for about 5 minutes maybe. i tend not to pay attention to time when i affirm and that works really well for me🍀
4. i manifested having 1000 dollars in my account because i didnt have much money in my account. this one was also kind of unexpected because i just kept on saying “money always comes back to me” maybe like twice a day and i got the money yesterday ‼️‼️
5. probably my favourite one because i’ve been in the loa community since 2022 and over complicating it was such a issue for me or even conditioning my desires so i’ve been affirming that everything comes easily to me. just here and there throughout the day and i also meditate in the mornings while affirming. 🧼
i’ve also loved subliminals made my slade on youtube and they just help keep programme my mind so i’ll link my favourites. i recommend listening to them if u feel anxious alot about ur desires. my advice is just to sit back and relax because ur desires are urs no matter what💓💐

Summary: Life has been hell ever since your mother's passing many years ago. Despite being from a prominent family, you've never received the privileges associated with it. It only got worse with the arrival of your stepmother and her daughters. When the intimidating General Park was in search of a wife, your father seized the opportunity to dispose of you, simultaneously securing a connection with the powerful general—killing two birds with one stone.

"Mistress, please allow me to help you back to your quarters." Eunsook pleaded, once again attempting to gently pull you up from the floor. But you shook your head weakly, keeping your forehead stubbornly glued to the ground.
Jongho sighed, stepping in to help, "Miss Jang, it's the general's orders. We've been tasked with taking you back to your room. If you don't cooperate, we might be in trouble."
To the relief of both employees, that seemed to work. They quickly moved to assist your limp and defeated form, with your tear-stained face and the bruise forming on your forehead breaking their hearts. Without wasting another minute, they moved you onto the assistant's back before rushing back to The Cold Palace.
You were already unconscious when they gently laid you on your bed, the toll of your crying apparent. Eunsook sighed, pulling the blankets over your petite frame and tucking you in. She then moved to dab your wet cheeks lightly with the sleeve of her uniform.
Observing you, Jongho frowned, "She feels so light; that doesn't seem normal. It's as if she barely weighs anything. Just what in the world was her life like in the Jang estate?"
The head maid gestured for him to keep quiet, putting a finger to her lips and shaking her head in warning. She didn't want to risk waking you up or, worse, letting you hear them talk about you as if you weren't there right in front of them.
Outside your room, the two took a moment to process the events of the day. It became apparent to them that you were just as much a pawn in your father's game as their master. It was also clear that your sudden presence was set to shake the very foundation of everything they had ever known in the general's estate.
"Let's just... take a break for the night and see what happens tomorrow." Eunsook mumbled, massaging her temples to alleviate the approaching headache.
Jongho agreed, "At least we've learned that our master isn't completely heartless." They exchanged knowing smiles before retiring to their respective quarters for the night.
Unbeknownst to everyone in the estate, Seonghwa stayed awake until he was sure that his assistant and head maid had carried out their assigned task. Laying in his bed, he forced himself to sleep, but the haunting image of you sobbing and kneeling on the ground plagued his thoughts incessantly.
He tells himself that perhaps he should have begun eating a bit first during dinner; that would've allowed you to have more energy during the extended hours of kneeling. Your reaction to the food lingers in his thoughts. In retrospect, he acknowledges that instructing the servants to discard all the food while you were hungry might have been a bit much; he realises that now.
Tomorrow, I'll allow her breakfast.
Tossing and turning throughout the night, the general found no reprieve until the early hours of the day. Even when he did manage to drift off to sleep, his dreams were filled with recurring scenes of the heart-wrenching dinner. His guilt and remorse persisted even in his unconscious state.
As the morning arrived, the voice of the head maid echoed from the entrance of your room, waking you from your sleep, "Good morning, mistress! May we please enter? We will be fixing you a bath and helping you get dressed for the day."
"N-no! I don't need help getting ready!"
You gasped, a sense of panic seizing you as you tried to move towards the mirror to inspect your reflection. The prospect of them assisting you with bathing and dressing meant they would inevitably see the bruises and scars littered across your body. The risk of being ousted on your second day loomed over you, and that was something you couldn't allow.
Your legs betrayed you and gave out, succumbing to weakness due to prolonged hunger. You crawled the remaining distance to the worn-out mirror in your room, suppressing a sob as you covered your mouth upon seeing your bare, unadorned self. The tears from the previous night had washed away your makeup, unveiling the stark reality of your appearance.
"Mistress, please. We've brought a new set of clothes for you, along with the freshest rose petals for your bath. It will be relaxing and enjoyable, we assure you!"
The kindness in Eunsook's voice intensified your emotional turmoil. As you stared at your hideous reflection, you realised you didn't deserve such luxury. You weren't the beautiful and elegant first daughter promised to Seonghwa; you felt like a fraud. How naive could you have been to believe you stood a chance of becoming the wife of the renowned General Park?
You weren't good enough; you'll never be.
"No, I don't want anything! J-just leave me alone, please..." You cried, pulling your knees into your chest and hugging them close. Despite the continuous persuasion from the elderly woman, you ignored her and remained curled up in the corner.
"Mistress... please," Eunsook gave up with a sigh, shaking her head at the servants behind her, "Take it away for now." They obeyed and dispersed with the clothes and bath supplies they had prepared. She knew there was nothing she could do if you refused to grant her permission to enter.
As the footsteps of the departing servants faded away, you released a sigh of relief. Your gaze remained fixed on the marks on your skin, cruel reminders of the abuse inflicted by your father, scars that seemed destined never to fade. So long as you have these on your body, you will never know what happiness is.
A bitter, humourless chuckle escaped your lips as you contemplated the fading hope for happiness. The general's response to your heartfelt words served as undeniable proof that, no matter how sincere your efforts, he would never accept you. The burden of the Jang surname seemed to ensure that you would never be given a fair chance, regardless of how hard you try.
While you wallowed in self-pity, Seonghwa was on the opposite side of the estate, reluctantly getting dressed for the day. His sleep had been far from restful, leaving him in a sour mood.
"So... how is she doing?" He asked in a detached tone, staring out of his window to avoid meeting his assistant's eyes.
Jongho arched an eyebrow at the question, suppressing a knowing smile as he observed his master's attempt to maintain a nonchalant demeanour, "Are you referring to Miss Jang, sir?"
The general clicked his tongue in irritation, "Who else would I be asking about?"
His aide nodded, "Right, how silly of me. Well, it seemed like she was sleeping quite well when we returned her to her quarters. I haven't checked on her since then, but Eunsook has organised a group of servants to assist her with a bath and preparations for the day."
Seonghwa hummed in approval, doing his best to mask any sense of satisfaction, "Very well. She better be punctual for breakfast then, we shall see how she plans to prove her innocence."
Despite his insistence on you being suspicious, Jongho could discern that there was no malice in his master's words. Perhaps there was hope that things could work out between the two of you after all. It seemed like the general was already letting his guard down, even if only slightly; the assistant could see it.
Or not.
"Where the hell is she?"
Seonghwa frowned, growing impatient as he had been waiting for some time, and you were nowhere to be seen in the dining hall.
Breakfast had already been served, and he even had the servants prepare slightly more than usual, anticipating your need for extra food since you hadn't eaten dinner the previous night.
Just as he asked the question, Jongho pointed at the head maid rushing towards the dining hall, strangely without you in sight, "There, Eunsook's coming."
The elderly woman bowed upon reaching the dining hall, catching her breath before addressing the general, "Good morning, master."
He waved off the greeting, "What's going on? Where's Miss Jang? Were you not getting her ready?"
She appeared to hesitate in her response, stammering, "W-well, I was trying to, but—"
"But what?" Seonghwa pressed, annoyance evident in his tone. Sensing her master's foul mood, Eunsook knew she had no choice but to tell the truth.
Jongho nodded encouragingly at his colleague, not wanting her to get in trouble. The head maid lowered her head in defeat, "I arranged for her bath and everything first thing in the morning, and we've been stuck outside her quarters for nearly an hour. Master, she refuses to let us in. It seems she doesn't wish to be bathed or changed."
The general and his assistant found themselves baffled by the revelation. Your new husband struggled to comprehend why anyone would be foolish enough to refuse a pleasant bath and a fresh change of clothes. But he was becoming less surprised after witnessing your odd behaviour the day before. By now, he had accepted the fact that you were far from normal.
Letting out a heavy sigh, he pressed a hand against his head, "Just... if she doesn't want to be bathed that badly, leave it. Just tell her to come out and eat," He muttered, recalling your longing gaze fixed on the dishes during dinner, "Go, get her now."
"Yes, master." Eunsook bowed before heading back to you. She hoped that this time, you would finally show yourself. Her concern grew as she remembered hearing the anguish in your voice when you asked to be left alone just earlier.
To be sure, she checked with the nearby servants if you had called for anyone or even emerged from your room while she was away, only to sigh in disappointment when they shook their heads.
She raised her hand to knock gently, "Mistress, I've come to inform you that breakfast is ready. The master is waiting for you. He wants you to know it's alright if you prefer not to be bathed or changed, but please, come and eat."
Instead of providing comfort, that only heightened your anxiety. Was the general summoning you to further interrogate you? It seemed likely. If he were to see you in this state, he might resort to beating you to death in an instant. Surely, being wedded to someone like you would be an insult to the great General Park.
As appealing as the idea of breakfast was, you feared you might not get to eat, similar to the previous night. Especially not with your current appearance. You winced, feeling the ache in your stomach from going without food for so long.
Perhaps this is how you'll meet your end.
"Mistress, wouldn't you like to have some breakfast?" Eunsook made another attempt, her concern deepening as she noticed your silhouette huddled in pain in a corner.
You shook your head, holding onto your stomach, "No... I-I don't want anything! Just... just go away, please..."
Seonghwa's impatience reached new heights as he waited, and it only intensified when he saw the head maid returning once again, without you by her side. He narrowed his eyes, feeling stupid for trying to be considerate towards you this morning. Here you were, revealing your true colours by being an ungrateful brat already.
His anger finally erupted when the elderly woman bowed deeply with a regretful grimace, "I'm sorry, master. Miss Jang refuses to leave her room."
The general slammed his fists against the table, scaring both Jongho and Eunsook as he pushed himself off his seat, seething, "That's it. If it's my attention she wants, then she's about to get it."
In a panic, the two employees chased after their furious master, making pitiful attempts to calm him down, "Master, please, perhaps she is still emotionally recovering from what happened last night!" But no amount of words could extinguish the fire in Seonghwa's eyes as he stormed towards The Cold Palace.
Truth be told, the assistant and head maid had never seen the general so worked up over any of his fiancées before. In fact, he barely paid them any attention, and they would all flee the estate in less than a day. Had it been any other woman, he probably wouldn't have cared if she came to breakfast or not; he probably wouldn't even bat an eyelash if she died in her room.
But he was oddly affected by your absence.
"Get out of my goddamned way!" He roared, pushing through the servants working around the garden paths that led to your quarters. They scrambled to their knees, bowing their heads low to avoid angering him further.
Jongho and Eunsook shot apologetic looks as they hurried past the poor servants who were just trying to do their jobs. But they had no time to worry about their colleagues when they saw Seonghwa closing in on your room. They scurried over to hold him back, trying to prevent him from scaring you any more than he already had.
"Master, please—"
Before they could intervene, the general forcefully slammed the flimsy doors of your room open, causing one of them to break off its hinges. Your cowering form was immediately revealed, but your new husband was too furious to show any sympathy.
"Are you angry because I didn't give you the wedding night you desired? If you want it that badly, I'll give it to you right now." Without allowing you to respond, he yanked your arms away from your body and tore the outer layer of your hanbok open, exposing your innerwear and shoulders completely.
"N-no, please!"
In just a split second, all of his fury vanished.
The sight of the numerous marks covering your skin, along with the newly revealed ones on your face, left Seonghwa frozen in place. He couldn't move as he observed the bruises and scars scattered all over you, and these were only the ones visible. He dreaded to think about what might be hidden beneath the rest of your body.
What the actual f—
Having tortured more than enough prisoners as part of his job, he was able to distinguish between old and fresh wounds. Judging from all the ones on you, he was repulsed to realise that you had a bit of everything – your injuries ranged from years to a few months old. This meant that you had been enduring abuse for a really long time.
A series of horrified gasps escaped Jongho and Eunsook as soon as they entered the room and witnessed the condition of your skin. You let out a heart-wrenching sob, making a feeble attempt to cover yourself again, "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..." You whimpered, despite being violated.
It's over. My life... is over.
Feeling lightheaded from all the crying and prolonged starvation, your vision darkened, your eyes gradually fluttered shut, and you slumped forward. The general acted swiftly, catching you and, for once, displaying gentleness as he nestled your head into the crook of his neck, holding your fragile form close.
"Hand me the blanket." He instructed. The head maid hurried over with the fabric, witnessing her master wrapping you in it.
Rising with you in his arms, he moved toward his private quarters with a newfound determination, "Jongho, go summon Physician Jung." The assistant bowed and hastily departed to fulfil his orders.
Entering his room, he laid you on his bed and carefully covered you with the sheets. Examining you more closely now, he became aware of your true frailty. Carrying you earlier, he noticed how remarkably light you were, like a feather. He clenched his fists in rage as he took in the horrendous marks that marred your skin. The new bruise forming on your forehead from the night before only made him feel worse.
Letting out a sigh, he tenderly wiped away the tears staining your cheeks, "What in the world happened to you? Who did this to you? Who dare lay their hands on you, hm?" He whispered, his heart tightening with more guilt than the previous night.
Eunsook stood in the corner, witnessing the scene unfold before her eyes with mixed emotions. While she was pleased to finally see her master display genuine care and affection towards you, it saddened her to realise the extent of the hardships you had to go through to evoke this response from him.
At the same time, her heart ached even more at the sight of the visible evidence of what you had been trying to conceal from everyone. It now made sense why you resisted a bath; you must have been terrified of anyone seeing the marks on your body. The thought of the horrors you endured in the Jang estate sent a shudder down her spine.
"Sir, Physician Jung has arrived," Jongho announced at the entrance, awaiting permission to enter. Seonghwa nodded tersely, "Let him in." The general rose from his seat to greet the physician, a familiar face who had become somewhat of a family doctor.
"Good afternoon, General Park. Are you feeling unwell—" The physician's words halted as soon as his eyes landed on the frail figure lying on the bed.
"It's not me this time, Yunho. It's... my wife."

"Jongho," The general called out softly, his eyes staying fixed on your unconscious form. Despite the softness in his tone, he was anything but calm on the inside. His aide stepped forward, "Sir?"
Finally shifting his gaze from you, he turned to his assistant, dead serious, "I'm going to need you to dig deeper this time. Hire a private investigator if necessary. Find someone willing to infiltrate the minister's estate and get someone to talk. Pay them as much as they need. Just find out what the hell happened while she was in there."
Deep down, he had a gut feeling about who might be responsible for all this, but he needed to know what exactly was done to you and why. He needed confirmation, and most importantly, evidence.
"General Park, I eagerly anticipate our forthcoming union. I assure you, my eldest is a gem; you'll come to adore her."
Recalling the smugness in Minister Jang's tone as he uttered those words, everything began to click. The puzzle pieces were coming together. The narrative of you being an accomplice for whatever your father had planned against him was finally being discarded; it was clear to him now that you were as much a victim as he was, except you'd had it much worse.
"Leave it to me, sir. I'll do everything to find out what happened to Miss Jang." The assistant said with determination, bowing.
Before he could leave, Seonghwa added, "Mistress. It's mistress to you all now. From today onwards, she's the official wife of General Park. I don't want to hear anyone calling her by that ridiculous surname ever again, understand?"
Jongho and Eunsook couldn't hide their smiles as they bowed rather enthusiastically, "Yes, master!"

Tumblr media
You don’t want to brag but you have the world’s greatest husband. Jungkook packs your lunch everyday, and makes cute shapes with the fruit. There’s even a little note, ‘ Have a good day at work, Baby! <3’. Smiling to yourself you place the note down, and eat your food with content.
Your new coworker, Mina, sits down next to you in the break room, sighing and drinks her energy drink. “ I swear men are the most lazy specimen,” she chugs the rest of her drink. “ I asked my husband to pick up the kids from school and he said he was too tired from work. I’m tired too but I still have responsibilities to do,” she groans. You don’t what to say, you just give her a meek smile and offer her a gimbap.
Mina takes a bite and hums in delight, “ How do you even have time to pack your lunch since you have morning shift. Did you make it at night?” She asked in curiosity.
“ My husband wakes up early and makes it for me. He also makes me breakfast too,” you shrug. Jungkook wakes up an hour earlier than you, first he kisses you and tells you have an hour left of sleep left. Then he works out sometimes lifting weights or running around the neighborhood. After that he packs your lunch and makes you breakfast.
Mina eyes widened in shock. “ Wait till you get over the honeymoon stage,” she laughs poking her elbow to your arm. “ How long have you been married? Six months?”
Shaking your head you laugh, while pulling your phone to show her your family picture. “ Almost nine years, we have two kids. My oldest six years old and my baby is three years old.”
Mina is even more shock, “ And that’s your husband. I don’t want to cross a line but he’s hot,” she points at your husband. Jungkook is wearing a black t-shirt and displaying his tattoos, and his jeans hug his thighs in the right places. “ He is hot and makes you breakfast and packs your lunch.” She groans, she is wondering what she has done in her past life to not have a perfect husband like yours.
You chuckle, “ Yeah, he’s the best.” Feeling gleeful that you have him in your life. You don’t want to go into details that he also cooks dinner and cleans the house while taking care of your kids because you were sure she would pass out.
You enter your house and see your husband making dinner with Soobin. Walking towards them, Soobin immediately senses you. Turning around shouting Mommy. “ How are my babies?” You kiss Soobin on the cheek and he makes grabby hands, and you carry him easily. Nuzzling into his chubby cheeks and peppering kisses and putting him back down so he can carry on to helping his dad.
Jungkook smiles and stops cooking, immediately giving you a welcome home kiss on the lips. His hands are on your hips, “ We are good, Hyrei is taking a nap. Soobin wanted to help me out and we are almost finish with dinner,” Jungkook kisses you more and you wrap your hands over his shoulder, basking in his attention.
It stops all too soon when Soobin tugs on Jungkooks shirt. “ Daddy, we need to finish.” He pouts and you laugh because he looks just like Jungkook when he gets upset.
“ Sorry, I was giving Mommy kisses because I miss her,” Jungkook explains to him and ruffles his hair. Jungkook pecks your lips one last time and playfully smacks your butt. “ Take a shower, dinner should be ready by then.”
Nodding you listen to his directions and head up to take a shower. Feeling refreshed out of the shower you walk to drawer picking your cutest lingerie set then wearing a baggy shirt and sweatpants over it. Hurriedly, you walk down stairs as you hear Soobin calling for you. Jungkook is setting the food on table and you are greeted with Hyeri on her high chair waiting patiently to be served. Hyeri doe eyes look at you and she immediately smiles and calls for you. You talk to her asking about her day and she lets out a few words still getting the grasp of speaking in full sentences. Soobin sits on your lap wanting your attention as well, and you ask about school. And he excitedly explains in detail about it. “ Thank you, baby,” you kiss Jungkook’s cheek when he serves your plate. There’s a lot of laughter at the table and you enjoy talking with your family.
After dinner you set the kids in the living room and put on cartoons for them so you can help Jungkook clean the kitchen while talking to him. “ How was work, love?” Jungkook ask as he cleans the dishes, while you are cleaning up the mess Hyeri made. He loves hearing you talk about work because you are passionate about it.
“ It was really good. One of my old patients who is about Soobin’s age come to visit me. He’s walking and running now. He gave me a hand written card. And told me I was his hero,” you smile. The faucet turns off and Jungkook turns around tells you to come over. “ Yes?”
Jungkook hands are on your cheek caressing it, “ You’re amazing, you know that?” You roll your eyes, flustered at his compliment. “ I’m serious Y/n. You’re kind, smart, and beautiful. And you saved so many children’s lives. I’m really grateful to have you as my wife.” You hide in his neck not wanting him to see your flushed cheeks. He chuckles at your actions because it is similar to Hyeri’s body language when calls her ‘pretty girl’.
“ Jungkook I—” you were going to tell him that appreciate him more but all you can hear was Soobin screaming in pain. Immediately, you both run to the living room and see Soobin crying holding up his finger. “ Soobin, what happened?” You asked but he keeps crying loudly. Skillfully you examine his finger and see no bleeding just a faint red mark. You see the toy car next to him and you assume what happened. Soobin calms down sniffling now, “ Did you pinch your finger with the car?” He nods at your question. Jungkook sighs in relief and wiping Soobin tears.
“ The babies are asleep,” you say as you enter the bedroom and Jungkook is on the bed waiting for you. You pull your shirt off and toss it on the floor along with your sweats and Jungkook smirks when he sees your lilac lingerie set. “ Do you like it?” You ask already knowing the answer and you sit on his lap.
“ Fuck yeah,” Jungkook looks at your tits and nuzzles into them. He get lost in them he loves the warmth and how it smells like honey and lavender. Your nails caress his hair and he groans immediately getting hard from the sight of you. “ So damn sexy,” his hands land on your hips massaging as he gets closer to your ass. Desperately wanting to be inside, Jungkook fingers trail to your front of your lace panties seeking your wetness. He is always desperate with you, it is not like you guys don’t have sex regularly. Just yesterday you guys fucked in the laundry room, he had to stuff your mouth panties so you wouldn’t wake up your kids from their nap.
Jungkook leaves open mouth kisses on the swell of your tits, sucking marks on them. You grind on Jungkook’s hand as he pushes your panties to the side and rubs your wetness. He focuses on your clit and you whimper. After a few more minutes of heavy petting you beg Jungkook insert his finger since he was teasing you so much. Jungkooks skillfully fingers and your trying your best to contain to your moans. “ Jungkook wait…” Jungkook stops and ask you what’s wrong. “ I want to ride you,” you whisper pushing more against the head board.
He pulls his shirt off and your hands touch his pecks and his abs. You notice that he has gained more muscle. “ Gonna ride me good, baby?” Jungkook ask.
“ Yeah, I want to make you come hard,” your hand pump his cock and you make marks on his neck. Wanting to show people that he is all yours. Jungkook stifles a groan tossing his back as you touch his sensitive tip. You give him one last kiss on the lips before turning around so your back is now facing him. His hands are drawn to your ass fondling them and you chuckle because he is both an ass and tits guy. Pushing your panties the side, Jungkook helps you by inserting his cock in and you guys both moan as you slide down hard. Not wanting to waste time you ride him like a pro never stopping for breaks.
Jungkook continuously curses as you squeeze him tight, his hands spreading your cheeks loving the way you cream on his cock. He slaps your ass and you clench harder in pleasure. “ Riding me so good, baby,” Jungkook slaps another time the rubbing it to soothe the pain. You whine wanting more but you had to keep quiet because you didn’t want to wake anyone up.
“ You feel so good. I can feel you so deep,” you whisper. Grinding now because your thighs are little sore. You one of his hands from your ass to your navel, “ Can you feel it? I love it when your so deep in me,” you tell him, softly moaning.
Once Jungkook heard those words something came over him, he loved hearing you dirty talk. But his hand feeling your soft stomach and the imprint of his cock is making him go crazy. His actions taking control of him he thrust upwards and holding your hips in place fucking you to oblivion. Your eyes roll back and you cry into your palms muffling your moans. Overwhelmed with pleasure you come hard on his cock. “ Come for me, daddy,” you let out breathlessly. “ Want your come in me.”
Jungkook moans your name, pumping a couple times before coming inside. He holds you tight against his chest, peppering a couple kisses on your nape. Both of you breathless not saying anything. He leaves more kisses on your back. “ Jungkook, I love you,” you say just above a whisper.
“ I love you too,” Jungkook softy whispers. He pulls out and switches your body so you’re now facing him.
“ No, like I really love you,” you tell truthfully. Jungkook looks at you with doe eyes and you gleam holding his cheeks, peppering kisses everywhere on his face. “ You are my favorite person in the whole world. And I appreciate everything you do for us,” you kiss his lips.
“ Thank you, Y/n. I appreciate you too,” Jungkook smiles. He kisses you back and his hands trail your back and unlatches your bra taking it off. “ Let me show you how much I appreciate you,” he gently pushes you back on the bed.
Jungkook groans as Soobin jumps on him waking him up, “ Mommy said to wake you up,” Soobin says playing with his father’s fluffy hair. Jungkook carries Soobin and enter the kitchen to see you cooking pancakes. Placing Soobin down he eats his pancakes and gives Hyeri the banana slices. “ Morning,” Jungkook kisses your lips and he tries to kiss you more but you push him off laughing. “ I’m don’t want to burn anymore pancakes,” you say.
You serve him his plate with extra bacon, “ These are yours. They are protein pancakes,” Jungkook hums happily eating his plate and you eat your own as you feed Hyeri more pancakes. “ Such a good girl. Eating all your food,” you coo at Hyeri. Jungkook admires the way you look with your hair in a bun and your wearing his big t-shirt.
Jungkook gulps before he says the next words, “ My mom says we should visit her soon,” he notices your hands halter and you turn to look at him. Jungkooks looks nervous because he knows how you feel about his mom. And there’s always an argument regarding about his mother.
“ Yeah she hasn’t seen Soobin and Hyeri in awhile we could drop them off,” you shrug and drink your orange juice. Soobin looks at you because his name is mentioned. Your hands brush his soft hair, “ Want to see grandma, lovebug?” Soobin smiles and excitedly says yes.
He wants you guys to have a good relationship. “ She wants to see us too. That’s including you Y/n,” Jungkook says.
“ Why would she want to see me? She hates me,” you turn your head around and crossing your arms. You don’t have the best relationship with her. You guys always end butting heads and she disapproves of you working and Jungkook being a stay home dad. It is not like you forced him to do that. It just conveniently worked out that way. Jungkook was more than happy enough to be a stay at home dad.
Actually you think she hated you the moment Jungkook introduced you to her. When you and Jungkook started dating in college, you would sometimes spend the night at his apartment. So when she did her occasional visits to give her son more banchan she found you and Jungkook naked in bed she was not mad at her son but at you because you corrupted him. Even though Jungkook had several past girlfriends before you.
“ She hates you?,” Soobin ask loudly in shock. You want to laugh because he’s nosy wanting to hear the drama but you’re too upset to laugh.
“ Y/n,” Jungkook gives you look because you weren’t careful with your words around Soobin. “ And Soobin since you are finished eating…” Jungkook takes Hyeri out of the high chair setting her down. “ Go play with your sister outside.”
You wait for them to leave so you can return to the conversation. “ Jungkook anyone can tell that she hates. She always berates me when I do anything.” You thought that things would be easier with her since you and Jungkook get married but it hasn’t.
“ My mom promised me that she wasn’t going to pick a fight with you. And I told her that if she did that I would call her out and leave right away,” Jungkook explains. You want to bang your head on the table because Jungkook is a little bit of a mama’s boy. That’s the only fault he has, that he always defends his mother like she is a saint. “ Please baby, for me” Jungkook begs you, pouting like Soobin.
“ Ugh, fine,” you get up putting your things in the sink not having the appetite. “ When are we going to see her?” You ask already dreading it.
Jungkook gets up hugging you from behind, trying to kiss your lips but you are stubborn continuing washing the dishes. He settles for your cheeks kissing them. “ Next weekend.” You mentally groan.
The day prior to visiting your in-laws you went to the butcher and asked for the best cut of beef and got a couple pounds of that. Along with expensive health vitamins because you know your father-in-law loves them. You still are dreading to go, Jungkook holds the groceries as you carry Hyerin and hold Soobin hand. The door immediately opens and your mother-in-law goes towards Jungkook hugging and kissing him. “ You look so thin! Are you not being fed?” And you want to roll your eyes because it sounds like a jab to you. She looks at you specifically.
Jungkook rubs your back in comfort. “ No…Mom I’ve been eating well, we all have,” Jungkook says.
She looks down and sees Soobin holding your hand and she picks him up. “ How’s my baby Soobin, I saw you last month but you gotten so big already,” She kisses him. Soobin explains to her that he has been eating a lot of rice and vegetables so that’s why he got so big.
Jungkook laughs and takes Soobin from her arms not wanting his mom’s back to hurt from carrying his weight. “ Look at Hyeri she’s gotten big too,” Jungkook points to Hyeri while she hides into your neck still shy.
“ Oh she is big and so pretty too like a flower! Come to grandma,” she immediately takes her from your arms. You follow inside the house and you hope it is not too long you guys have to stay here.
You play with your children outside as they chase the dog. Hyeri in your arms and your father-in-law talks about the crops with you. He says his growing tomatoes this season because he knows how much you and Soobin like tomatoes you smile thanking him. “ Y/n! I need your help bring Hyeri with you ! ” your mother-in-law calls from the inside the house. You look for Jungkook because you don’t trust yourself alone with her but he is preoccupied by fixing his Father’s garden tool.
“ Yes, mother, ” you ask while entering the kitchen.
“ Help me peel this,” she indicates to the vegetables on the counter.
You don’t mind helping but you don’t want Hyeri to be bored in the kitchen, “ Okay let me put Hyeri outside so she can play—”
“ No, she needs to learn how to prepare food for her husband,” she says sternly.
Your eye twitches because Hyeri is just a baby and she doesn’t need to worry about preparing food for her husband. You want to bite your tongue but you don’t, “ Okay let me bring Soobin, it’s not fair for Hyeri to just prepare food. He also needs to learn how prepare food for his husband or wife,” you say.
Her eyes widen, “ Y/n don’t you ever say stuff like that!” You don’t know which part got her mad. Soobin learning how to prepare food or that you don’t think heteronormative. She looks very angry and you don’t want to get into another fight.
“ Okay, fine. I’m sorry. We will help you cook.” You’ll apologize to Hyeri when she gets older, when she realizes why she could she never play with her brother at her grandma’s house. You help cook dinner and she tsk at you couple times when you don’t expertly cut vegetables like her. Hyeri looks at you cook and you give her piece of carrot to chew on.
Dinner is finally ready and you set the table, and your father-in-law takes a bite of the meat and exclaims. “ Y/n, this is really good ! You know how to pick out high quality,” he tells you. Soobin is on his lap and he feeds him as well. “ How’s work? I always brag to my friends that my daughter is the best pediatric surgeon,” he says.
You laugh, “ Works been really good. I recently did heart surgery on an five year old, it was successful.” You say happily.
Jungkook smiles rubbing your shoulder, “ That’s my girl.”
“ So when do you plan on quitting and staying at home with your children? Jungkook also went to university and got his degree. He should not have to let his degree go to waste,” your mother-in-law speaks condescending.
“ Mom we talked about this,” Jungkook says. “ Y/n and I agreed that she will work and I will take care of the kids. Plus I love spending all day with children. Once both of the kids enter primary school I’ll look into my career.”
“ What about Soobin and Hyeri they are going to be confused,” she explains more.
You are getting frustrated. “ Then I’ll explain to them that there’s nothing wrong about breaking gender norms,” you say.
“ I hope Hyeri isn’t going to be like you. You are headstrong—”
Jungkook interrupts, eyebrows furrowed, “ Mom—”
“ Well then fine. I’ll teach her to be the ‘ perfect woman’. She’ll serve her husband and make sure his food is ready at a certain time. Education? Why would she need it if shes just going to be cleaning and obeying her husbands order,” you say sarcastically state getting up from your seat and walking towards outside. You hear them call your name but you ignore them seeking silence. You watch the stars outside and sniffle a little. Not wanting to let your emotions come over you.
Jungkook looks at his mother in disappointment, “ Y/n is my everything and I don’t appreciate you talking to her like that. She’s works hard at everything she does and I look up to her. I hope Hyeri becomes just like her,” Jungkook says in a stern voice. He walks out to talk to you and notices your slumped shoulders.
“ Y/n,” Jungkook gently calls your name, his hands are carefully placed on your shoulder. “ I’m sorry. Let’s go home,” he says hugging you. You don’t know why he’s apologizing maybe because he put you in this situation in the first place. You bid your goodbyes bowing in apology for letting your anger get out of control. You and Jungkook don’t talk for the rest of the way home. You don’t feel like talking anyways, too exhausted mentally.
You feel someone gently rubbing your arm and you wake up. Jungkook gives you small smile, “ Good morning, love.” Rubbing your eyes you look at the alarm clock and see that it’s eleven o’clock. Your head is still pounding from the after effects of yesterday.
You try getting up quickly but Jungkook calms you down. “ Shit, I woke up late. I’m sorry you were supposed to rest on the weekends,” you groan. On the weekends you make breakfast giving Jungkook a break from cooking and getting the kids ready for the day.
“ Don’t apologize. You’re fine. Kids are already fed and playing outside.” Jungkook kisses your forehead. “ About yesterday…” he caresses your hair.
You close your eyes briefly before speaking, “ I’m sorry. I overreacted and I know you’re mom is old fashioned—”
“ No you didn’t overreact. You were standing up for yourself. Being old fashioned doesn’t give her any reason to be rude to you,” Jungkook speaks softly. “ And if any of our children become like you, I would be very happy because you are wonderful person.” You’re in shock because he usually makes excuses for his mom but not this time.
“ Thank you,” you say in a whisper. Leaning up you kiss him softly immediately feeling better. Pulling his arms, you grab him so he can lay with you on the bed. He chuckles when you scoot closer to him, your face in his neck nuzzling into him. “ And if anytime you want to go back to work just tell me. We can put the kids in day care or I can take a break…”
“ I love taking care of our children. I rather take care of them sending them to daycare. Plus, I get to make my lovely wife food,” Jungkook says trailing his fingertips on your back. “ I got it all under control and I think I’m the best house husband,” Jungkook cockily states.
Laughing you pull away staring at his face, he has a cute smirk on and you kiss it. “ And the hottest,” you add on.
“ Wow out of all the amazing qualities I have you only compliment me on my hotness,” Jungkook playfully speaks.
“ And you have the biggest cock,” you cough, “ I mean biggest heart.” His hands immediately pinched your butt and you yelp loudly then laughing.
His hands grab your ass squeezing them roughly, “ Just wait till the kids are asleep. Imma destroy that pretty mouth of yours,” Jungkook says lowly. In the mood you go to kiss him and Jungkook can immediately tell by the way your eyes darken. But he gets up immediately, “ Nope not right, I promised Soobin to play dragon versus knight.”
You get up stretching and looking outside from the window. The weather is nice and you want to play with them too, “I’ll join you guys,” you ask as you put on your shorts. Jungkook holds your hand as you guys walk out to the fresh air.

TEENAGE FEVER ༊*·˚ - suguru geto x fem!reader x satoru gojo
Tumblr media
SUMMARY. you, satoru and suguru have been taking care of the fushiguro kids and the twins since your teenage days. after your latest mission, you reminisce about the beginnings of your little family. and during an impromptu trip, unspoken feelings finally come to a boil.
꒰ warnings: pure fluff! idiots in love. friends to lovers, mutual pining, family dynamics, non-canon compliant, megumi calls you mommy once ♡ // word count: 11.6k ꒱ ꒰ notes: another repost from my old account .ᐟ.ᐟ just really wanted to have this piece on my new blog <3 ꒱
Tumblr media
sometimes you wonder why you agreed to be a part of madness that is the geto/gojo/you in a co-parenting throuple (you internally scream every time you remember how nonchalant satoru was about that description. what? i think that’s kind of adorable. you and suguru did not agree; somehow the name still stuck around). you would think that a pair of strongest sorcerers would be able to handle four first graders yet dozens of notifications that finally came through to your phone prove otherwise. your left eye twitches.
[ groupchat notifications: co-parenting throuple ] ‘toru /ᐠ. ᴗ.ᐟ\: girl dinner ! ‘toru /ᐠ. ᴗ.ᐟ\: [picture] sugu ₍ᐢ⑅ᐢ₎: im sorry i wasn’t there to prevent the disaster sugu ₍ᐢ⑅ᐢ₎: shall i prepare the casket?
messages are stamped two hours ago, and you’re too afraid to open the picture, dozens of different scenarios popping up in your head at the speed of light. when you finally unlock the messages, you think suguru was considerate enough to even suggest a casket because once you’re done with satoru gojo, there will be no body to bury.
you: you fed them cake for dinner ??      toru  /ᐠ. ᴗ.ᐟ\ responded: it’s sunday! they deserve a little treat!         sugu ₍ᐢ⑅ᐢ₎ responded: it’s a 12-inch cheesecake you responded: satoru, i know what you want to say, zip it. you’re in so much trouble already.
you: and why is it only you with the girls, where is megumi????      toru /ᐠ. ᴗ.ᐟ\ responded: and ‘gumi ate regular dinner like a child-man he is :<          you responded: it’s called a man-child satoru… toru /ᐠ. ᴗ.ᐟ\: responded: no, megumi is a child-man because he has a soul of a man trapped in a body of a seven year old      sugu ₍ᐢ⑅ᐢ₎ responded: so you’re calling him benjamin button?           you responded: that’s why he doesn’t like either of you.
the frustration you felt towards satoru mere two minutes ago dissipates and gives space to something much warmer; the feeling that was tugging at you the whole weekend as you travelled to korea, sent away on a mission (you found yourself missing your little family more than you expected); the feeling that made you treating exorcising curses with utmost care because for the first time in a while, you want to come home safe. with a simple reminder of how lucky you’re to have satoru and suguru protecting the little piece of safe haven you carved out for yourselves; all the anger is gone as if it was never there in the first place.
you’re about to scroll through the earlier messages but flight attendant announces that the passengers are finally clear to get off the plane, so you shove the phone into your bag, grab your carry-on and hurry out. security check is surprisingly fast, and you’re riding a taxi back home in no time. you send a quick message to the group chat that you’re on your way and close your eyes.
quiet hum of the radio, steady movement of the car, and familiar surroundings immediately bring you peace – you’ve been feeling restless during your whole weekend trip, and now that you’re almost back with people you want to be with the most, you cannot help but smile. you’re being lulled to sleep by something pleasant playing on the radio, and your thoughts drift back to the day you found that being teenage parents can come in different forms.

you sigh again as you look at your watch. 4:23pm, satoru was supposed to be here 23 minutes ago. not only that, but he’s been ignoring your calls, not responding to your messages and did not tell anyone where he’s suddenly gone off to. suguru cannot be reached either, you know he has a mission today, so now you’re stranded in the middle of shibuya, your least favorite place to be, alone. you think this is the day you finally stab satoru gojo because he has the absolute nerve to beg you to come to this new dessert cafe, the one that just opened. supposedly, it was so good, you just have to try it - satoru convinced you to join him, knowing that you hate being in overcrowded spaces, only for to him to ghost you.
buzz of your phone brings you out of your thoughts.
[ incoming call: toru /ᐠ. ᴗ.ᐟ\ ]
“i swear to god, satoru, you better have to save half the planet as an excuse or —”
“where are you?”
“what? what do you mean where am i? in shibuya, where we were supposed to meet almost 30 minutes ago!”
“we’re going back to the school now, come back as soon as you can.”
and then he hung up. you blankly stared at the screen of your phone like it would somehow explain what just happened. with a deep sigh, you put the phone away and massage your temples, feeling the headache coming. satoru gojo might be the one who’s getting migraines from having six eyes but he always makes sure you have one too, just for the company.
ride back to the school is quick and easy – thankfully you’re in time to beat the rush hour, and currently, you’re standing in front of tokyo high. now that you’ve had time to calm your anger and frustration down, you realize that gojo would’ve at least texted you if he was late. something must’ve happened, and you feel panic start spreading its icy tentacles all over your body. picking up the pace, you almost run through the courtyard, pass the temple decorum and straight to doctors office – you assume he would be there if something happened.
you finally stand in front of the door: your breathing is heavy and you’re dizzy from how fast you sped up. the horrors of last year’s mission flash before your eyes, painting it blood, sorrow and anger, and you pray to every god known that it’s not a repeat of that failure. you almost lost suguru to the darkness that preyed on him, stalking his shadows, seeping through his skin – you are still haunted by how hollow his eyes became. you’re sure seeing him like this again will break you instead this time. you try to steady your breathing and knock.
“you can come in.”
of course satoru would know you were here. pushing the door and walking into the room, you are met by two little girls sitting on each suguru’s side on the hospital bed. satoru is standing next to them and observing his best friend who is gently murmuring something to the twins. both of them look unharmed which means shoko already worked her magic if it was necessary. it seems none of you want to bring up the elephant in the room so you just take a sit in the chair next to the desk.
“what happened?” your voice sounds loud in the hushed murmurs bouncing off the wall, and all four pairs of eyes are directed at you. it seems you startled the girls as they grabbed onto suguru’s sleeves – you cannot help but stretch your lips in a pretty smile, waving to them. “sorry, didn’t mean to scare you,” you tell them in a hushed tone this time, “would you tell me your names if i told you mine?”
brunette twin shakes her head for the both of them, and you introduce yourself. same girl responds to your curiosity.
“i am mimiko, and we’ve never met our parents but i know i am older by 5 minutes. and this,” she points at the girl on the opposite side of suguru, “is nanako. she is always a little shy so i make sure to talk for the both of us!” blonde girl curls a little more into your friend, and you finally make eye contact with him. you’re a little lost by what you see – hurt, anger, tenderness, confusion, he looks so defeated yet relieved at the same time. you’re turning to look at satoru instead but he only shrugs his shoulders.
“don’t look at me, he didn’t really share any details with me either.”
you hum in response and get up from the chair, walking to where the hospital bed is and squat to face them, extending your hand.
“well, it’s really nice to meet you, mimiko and nanako,” and as you get a little closer to their face, you whisper as it’s meant to be a secret, “i think we’ll become really good friends.”
from what satoru told you, it seems that him and suguru hadn’t had a chance to talk yet – girls looked very attached to dark-haired man already, it’s most likely they wouldn’t leave his side and whatever gojo wanted to discuss was not meant for children’s ears. you’re too scared to overstep the friendship boundary you just started building with the girls but you know the look on your friends’ faces, and they tell you they need to have a serious and most likely unpleasant conversation (not too hard to guess what about). standing up, you tentatively reach out your hands to nanako and mimiko.
“have you ever tried crepes? there is a very good place that sells them nearby. what do you say if we go and grab some dessert, just us girls?”
you could see their eyes lit up as they looked back at suguru, looking for a confirmation you’re safe to go with. he smiled at them (that smile that sometimes makes your heart skip a beat and makes you yearn for something you know you could never have), making wrinkles appear in the corner of his crescent-like eyes.
“she is my friend, you can go with her. i’ll meet you in a little bit,” and as he looked back at you, he mouthed quiet “thank you”. you only smiled in return: suguru never needed to thank you, not after the near escape to hell you guided him away from; not after the sleepless nights you spent keeping him a quiet company on the rooftops of jujutsu tech because silence was everything he needed in those moments; not after tight embraces you had to hold him in when you witnessed a sliver of panic attack creeping up on him when he least expected it. in the year that followed the disastrous star plasma vessel mission, you were the light that guided suguru back to himself, back to satoru, back to you. geto didn’t need to say thank you, at least not to you, not anymore.
grabbing two little girls by their hands, you lead them out of school.
“i promise you we will have the best time.”
Tumblr media
present
the particular rough bump of the car brings you back to the present moment. you look at the time on your phone, display showing 11:23pm, and you smile looking at the picture on your lockscreen: it’s a picture of satoru with nanako and mimiko, their mouths stuffed full of crepes.
after suguru decided to take the girls in, you and satoru made it a habit of coming over and helping him take care of them. geto and gojo used to be inseparable but the rift that broke in between them in the year that followed amanai riko’s death was a surprise. being close to both strongest sorcerers, you knew why it was there, you knew the sheer trauma of it for both of them. so you stayed with gojo when he needed you to keep reminding him that his shoulders do not have to carry the weight of the whole world, and you’re here to share it. and you stayed with geto when he was plunged into the coldness of heart-wrenching guilt and needed you to pull him out from under the deep. after suguru adopted nanako and mimiko, you were the bridge that crossed a seemingly bottomless crevice between the two of them.
making satoru see what he was missing with suguru’s behavour at the time and asking suguru to understand why satoru was seemingly oblivious to it in the first place – the confusion, the pain, the loss of innocence, and everything unsaid that went on between them – was almost as difficult as being a sorcerer in the first place. by a miracle, you stopped being their overpass as they started rebuilding their bridges themselves. yet, the connection you weaved with the sacred geometry of your hands between the three of you created a special bond that prevailed until this day.
unlocking your phone, you scroll through the earlier messages in the chat: messages that kids already miss you (sent 30 minutes after your plane took off on friday), stories about their successful disneyworld trip on saturday (traitors, you think, you’ve been begging them for a family outing there for months now), and cake-baking adventures today (you internally dread the mess that will have to be cleaned up in the kitchen). looking back at you from your home screen is the picture of megumi and tsumiki on their first day of school, proud suguru holding both their hands (megumi refused to hold satoru’s hand so he refused to be in the picture – sometimes you wonder who is the older out of the two). warmth takes over your entire being once again, and you allow yourself to recollect the memories of how the last pieces of your family all came together.

“i am going to meet with that kid fushiguro was talking about before he, you know,” and satoru dramatically slashed his neck with his finger, poking his tongue out, imitating a dead face. nanako and mimiko laughed from the opposite side of the table while you kicked him on the shin.
“please, satoru, i didn’t sign up to babysit three kids. eat your breakfast, i need to get girls to pre-school, we can talk about it once i’m back.”
“what if i drive you? and then we can go grab kikufuku from the new place that opened near shinjuku station, i heard it’s really good.”
“satoru, it’s 7am in the morning. unlike you, i am a normal human being who cannot possibly consume that much sugar this early. and,” you lean in closer and whisper so the girls cannot hear, “please don’t say stuff like this in front of the twins, they will think it’s normal to be asking for dessert at this ungodly hour.”
satoru thinks it’s adorable, how you huff and puff at the girls like a mother hen. ever since the girls started living with suguru, you made it your mission to come over at least once a week to make sure they have everything they need – and nanako and mimiko, as they once confessed to geto, love your presence. after everything they’ve been through, the girls learned to recognize the intention behind people’s auras, and yours only gave them peace. and, unbeknownst to them at this tender age, they have craved peace for a very long time. so he bites his tongue and keeps the snarky remark he wanted to say, instead quietly whispering “sorry”, and you appreciate the gesture that may seem small to another, but speaks volume to yourself.
“fine. we will be leaving in,” you look at the watch, squinting and thinking about how much time you have left, “30 minutes, make sure you’re ready or we’re leaving without you.”
you let the twins finish their breakfast and rush both of them to brush their teeth before you prep their outfits. suguru was sent out on a mission for the whole week (you worry; satoru tells you that with how much you worry about everyone and everything, you’ll be grayer than him in couple of years) and asked you to stay with the girls until he returns. you won’t lie – you’ve grown attached to them within the short amount of time you’ve been helping taking care of them so you agreed to babysit in a millisecond.
you didn’t expect that a third child will be living with you all this week too.
“why don’t i get my outfit chosen for me?” you feel satoru before you can even hear him, the never-ending reach of his limitless tingling your senses, rushing the goosebumps up your spine (this is totally normal, right? friends make other friends feel like this, right?). and you wish he would only be the omniscient presence that makes your knees weak because as soon as he opens his mouth, you want to roll your eyes and smack the back of his head. you learned to treat him like a child, if he wanted to behave like one.
“because mommy is busy and you’re old enough to do it on your own.”
satoru did not expect you to say that, sudden blush rushing to his face making his thoughts drift in a direction incredibly inappropriate for a friend. great. you’re so gross, satoru. he suddenly turned away and rushed out from the bedroom (if you had more time, you would’ve asked him what his deal was but alas, you were already running late). then he proceeded to stay quiet the whole morning: while you were getting nanako and mimiko dressed, while he was driving all of you to school, while you waved goodbye to the girls and made your way back to the car. the phrase kept running through his mind the whole time until you cleared your throat and looked at him with your brow raised.
“what’s gotten into you? you’ve been suspiciously quiet the whole morning. didn’t you want to talk about something?”
he forced all the wrong thoughts to stay hidden for now, patted them away like crows nibbling at the forbidden nerves of his sudden need. he cleared his throat and started driving away from the school, not knowing where he was taking the two of you yet.
“uh, yeah. i was telling you that i am going to meet with the fushiguro kid tomorrow.”
“okay… and?”
“and what?”
“what are you going to do?”
megumi fushiguro was discussed among you before, but no concrete decision was ever reached. what if the kid doesn’t even want to go with him? he won’t be able to drag him by force unless he wants to be accused of child abduction.
“i don’t know. if he does want to come with me, i have the resources to keep him out of whatever deal his father cooked up for him with the zen’in clan. but if he doesn’t… by the time he realizes what zen’ins are, and if he ever wants to leave, it’ll be too late,” satoru clicks his tongue at the mention of one of the three big families. it’s no secret gojo clan has not seen eye-to-eye with zen’ins for a long time now but for satoru, it’s personal.
“you know, if you decide to take him in, it’s not like one more child will really make a difference. you’ll just have to stop coming around and it’s like nothing changed,” the words come out of you with such levity, satoru sometimes thinks you don’t even realize that your presence alone can make a wilted flower spring back to life.
he can only laugh in response. you haven’t even met the kid and you already welcome him like it’s nothing to worry about. gojo always wanted to compare you to the sun, the stars or any other celestial being that shines so brightly, they illuminate every shadow in their reach. but as the time passed, he realized that he didn’t want you to be a sun, or a star – then he will have to share your light with everyone else. no, you’re a flame in the home’s fireplace, warm and inviting to anyone who’s welcomed into your humble abode but lost to everyone else.
“you say that now. let’s see what happens when i show up with two kids instead of one.”
Tumblr media
present
the memory makes you chuckle. sometimes you wonder if he knew megumi had a sister because when he did show up with two kids instead of a promised one, you swore he looked as smug as ever.
as the time went on, spreading yourself thin between going to university (you said you wanted to finish your degree in case your career as a sorcerer doesn’t work out), helping out geto and gojo on their missions when they asked you, and helping take care of both suguru’s girls and fushiguro siblings was proving to be too much. so satoru, for all his seemingly unlimited resources, decided that buying a house and living all together will be better. you knew that it was easier to move a mountain than change gojo’s mind once it’s been set on something so you didn’t argue. to no one’s surprise, living together for all of you came as naturally as breathing. who said a family cannot be three barely functioning not-even-yet adults and their four adopted children?
the familiar silhouette of home comes into view, and you sigh with relief. when the cab stops, you pay the driver, grabbing your things and rushing our the car. it’s the moments like this you envy satoru’s teleportation ability though you will never admit it to him out loud, lest you inflate his ego even more. you’re barely able to step away from the gates when the front door to the house swings open and you see the person you were just thinking about poking his head out.
“need a hand?”
gojo is as cheerful as ever, and you cannot help but smile back, lips stretching in that tired way he finds almost domestic, and he feels something prick inside him. not now. you want to say something back, but you’re interrupted by the sound of little footsteps running past satoru, towards you.
“you’re back, you’re back!” nanako and mimiko are the first rushing to greet you, with tsumiki hot on their tail. you see megumi standing in the doorframe trying to pat away satoru’s hand resting on top of his head as he comes out to greet you as well.
“oh my god, ‘toru, what are they still doing up, it’s past 12am!” you redirect your attention to the kids instead. “what are you little rascals still doing up, uh? just because you don’t have school tomorrow doesn’t mean you don’t have a sleeping schedule anymore!”
“gojo-san and geto-san said we can stay up today!”
“3 years later and you’re still the only one they call by your first name,” you hear suguru before you can see him: he is standing on the opposite side of megumi, letting the kid hide behind his leg to get away from gojo’s assault on his hair. you smile at them and decide there is no point of staying mad at them any longer.
the men help you to bring your bags inside, and you collapse on the couch as soon as you pass the threshold of your home.
“how was your trip?” megumi asks as he slowly crawls to sit on your right side. out of all the kids, megumi was the hardest to read – for a child his age, he was overly perceptive and did feel almost like an adult at times. what did satoru call him? a child-man, that’s right.
“it was good, ‘gumi. ‘m just tired now. how was your weekend? i saw someone took you to disneyworld when i was asking for it the whole time,” you said, raising your voice at the later part of the sentence so it can reach gojo and geto’s ears from where they were in the kitchen. you could only hear a light chuckle back.
“it was so fun! mimiko was scared of the ride we went on, but i was so brave!” nanako’s eyes twinkled with so much joy, you really wish you witnessed the moment yourself. satoru was right all those years ago, you were a mother hen back then, you’re a mother hen now.
“no, i wasn’t! tsumiki was scared more!”
“why are you lying? no, i wasn’t!”
“ay, ay! i’m sure all of you were equally brave. now, can you tell me why you stayed up this late?” you finally sit everyone down, satoru and suguru joining you with freshly brewed tea, and think this is the most at peace you’ve ever felt.
“we were waiting for you…” tsumiki shyly confesses on behalf of everyone.
“oh,” your vision gets blurry and you feel pearly beads of tears pool in the corner of your eyes before quickly blinking them away.
“ughhh, you cute little puppies, i just want to eat you up,” you say before anyone can question your tears and pull all of the kids into a bear hug. time is late, however, so you make a quick work of tucking everyone into bed now that they’ve seen you. you say your goodnights and leave their rooms.
“do we not get a hug now?” satoru asks, wearing his signature smirk, and you want to clap back with a retort of your own, chastise them for letting the kids eat cake for dinner and stay up past midnight, or remind them that they are not seven years old anymore; but the car trip and the memories you revisited bring out something nostalgic in you making you slowly walk up to satoru and hug him instead. he is taken aback at first but gojo has always been good at recovering from momentary stupor so he’s pulling you back into a hug in no time.
“you two are rude,” comes from suguru’s side and as soon as you’re untangling yourself from gojo, you’re walking up to the raven-haired sorcerer to do the same.
“i missed you two idiots.”
“we missed you too.”
the silence stretches across the room but it’s comforting and inviting, like an old friend who hasn’t visited in a while, enveloping the three of you in its embrace. you look at the clock on the wall, showing you 1:05am, and suddenly your whole body feels heavy.
“sorry guys, i think the trip is finally showing its signs… i am so tired, don’t even have energy to take a shower,” you say and groan in disgust. you hate going to bed without washing the grime of the day off your body but the fatigue is clinging onto your skin like humid air. “i’m going to bed now, see you guys tomorrow.”
“good night.”
“sleep well.”
and if you paid closer attention, you would’ve noticed the deep seated longing in the men’s gazes, the one that you sometimes have to hide from them too; you would’ve noticed how suguru’s hand is following yours long after you’re out of their sight, and how satoru’s tongue darted out to wet his lips when you were pressed against him, even if for a second; you would’ve noticed that the feelings you’ve been trying to push deep down for your two best friends are reflected all the same somewhere in the constellation of their eyes.

next morning you wake up as a result of someone laughing your name and jumping on your bed. sunlight is peaking through the curtains, making sun bunnies dance on the walls of your room and kiss your cheeks. you try to open your eyes but your head feels heavy like you’ve just fallen asleep and you struggle to make out your surroundings – feeling disoriented first thing in the morning is definitely your least favorite thing. you groan softly and finally force yourself to lift your eyelids – as you do so, you’re met with two little girls using your bed as a make-shift trampoline.
“wake up! wake up! gojo-san and geto-san told us we will be leaving to go to the sea in an hour!” and they swiftly left, just as quickly as they had come in, leaving you to stare up at the ceiling in confusion.
“uh?”
once the words really settled in, you’re getting up from the bed in record time and putting on the first clothes you lay your eyes on. you find the strongest duo already up and ready. all of the kids, worryingly, also look like they are ready to leave the house, and there are bags near the door with both satoru and suguru looking too smug not to be suspicious about it.
“what is going on here?” you ask from the doorway that connects the hallway leading to your rooms to the kitchen. “why am i hearing that we’re going to the sea, and why are you dressed like this?”
“well,” satoru starts, “because we are going to the sea so we’re wearing appropriate clothing. you’re the only one who’s still not dressed.
you close your eyes and massage the bridge of your nose. mentally you douse whatever feelings you were having for these idiots yesterday.
“why am i hearing about this only now?”
“surprise?..”
“i know it’s last minute, but satoru made a promise to drive so you can relax in the car while we’re on the way there. just get ready and we can leave right after,” suguru says from his place on the couch, and you cannot help but sigh deeply and return to your room to shower and quickly pack.
when you’re out of earshot, geto shoots gojo a look.
“what are you planning, satoru?”
“why would i be planning anything? she’s been really stressed recently, and then the higher ups have the audacity to send her away for a whole weekend and give you a mission that took your whole sunday at the same time she was sent away. i was overworked the week before that. sometimes it feels like they are doing this on purpose. so maybe we should all disappear for a couple of days with no way of contacting us, maybe they’ll stop pestering us like we’re the only sorcerers available.”
“very mature of you, ‘toru.”
“yeah, yeah, whatever.”
the two of them finish packing the last of the food that gojo bought in the morning while waiting for you. reserving a spot this late in one of the most popular vacation spots in japan was hard, but nothing is impossible when you’re satoru gojo.
you’re ready in record time, and the kids are all yelling and arguing about who is going to sit where. you need to intervene and say you will be sitting in the back of suv with nanako and mimiko, while mugumi and tsumiki agreed to sit in the middle row; suguru is riding shotgun and satoru has agreed to be your driver for the ride. unsurprisingly, not even an hour out of the city, the car is filled with snoring as the kids fell asleep shortly after you started driving. you feel yourself getting drowsy, closing your eyes and swearing you will only sleep for a moment. however, the next time you open them, you’re informed by suguru that all of you are already halfway through the trip.
“oh my god, i can’t believe i slept for that long,” you mumble through a voice heavy with drowsiness. “i think it’s best if we stop somewhere now, i’ll wake the kids up so they can eat quickly and pee. i suggest we all do it.”
“yeah, i think it would be best, i don’t know if we will have the opportunity to stop any time soon,” satoru agrees with you, and the drive continues for 20 more minutes until you’re stopping at the gas station. you gently wake the kids up and let them know that they need to have a snack and go to the restroom (time is 11:20am and they should be able to fall asleep again with no issues after that).
“how much longer do you think we have to drive?” you ask satoru as he is refilling the gas tank. you’re watching suguru watch the kids where they are running around nearby.
“maybe 2.5-3 hours, depending on the traffic.”
“did something happen during the weekend?”
“no, why would you ask?”
“hm…” you quickly hum, “this is all too sudden for it to be spontaneous.”
“oh, common, don’t be like that. i just think the little family of ours needs a mini vacation, that is all.”
as soon as the words leave his mouth, gojo can feel the blush creeping up all the way to his ears and he clears his throat, walking away. you don’t know what makes you giggle more – the way he admits that whatever it is you have, he also sees it as a family, or the way the confession makes him feel embarrassed. you observe him preparing to get into the driver’s seat – sometimes you wonder what is happening in that handsome head of his. you glance at suguru and wonder if he would have a better guess.
gojo lets you know that you’re good to depart again. the second part of the trip is as chaotic as you would imagine it go and you give up on trying to make kids to go back to sleep. instead, you’re breaking up the fights between almost everyone: nanako and mimiko argue about their friendship bracelets across from you; you keep having to remind gojo that he is indeed an adult in this situation while he wants to continue arguing with megumi; and suguru somehow breaks the AC so the last 30 minutes of the drive everyone is suffering in silence.
once you finally pull up to the little vacation house gojo somehow procured at the last moment, you’re already feeling at your limit: you need the sun and to dive into warm water before you start losing your hair.
geto helps you with the bags while gojo unloads everything into the kitchen – you’re not sure how long you’re staying here for but the amount of food they brought will last you a nuclear winter. the children are excited about their rooms, and you must keep reminding them to be careful and to not run into any corners despite their enthusiasm. you help them unpack and choose outfits for the day – it’s been decided in the car that you will be going to the beach as soon as you’re settled.
everyone is ready in half an hour – you helped the girls get into their swimming suits, while megumi insisted he can do it himself (you suggested geto or gojo help him, but he closed the door in their faces and didn’t come out until he was done). both men were already waiting by the door with the picnic bags and beach essentials – you had to admit they looked a little too good, making a knot twist in your stomach.
satoru was dressed in a simple white button up that matched his hair and a pair of navy swim trunks. maybe he was right, this trip was long overdue for all three of you, as gojo looked more relaxed and at peace than you’ve seen him in a while. his lips were stretch into a lazy smile and his eyes, unobstructed by the glasses or a blindfold, had a glint of mischief that reminded you of a 16 year-old boy you met all those years ago. he tried his best to style his white unruly hair but the surrounding humidity only made it frizzier.
gojo makes it seem almost effortless, with how good he looks, and maybe part of it is true – despite never admitting it out loud, you know he won the genetic lottery when it came to his appearance. but you also know that satoru has an unrelenting skin care routine (because you buy your products together); that he asks what you think about his outfits even though you keep repeating you should be the last person he asks for fashion advice (don’t worry about it, princess, your opinion is the only one that matters anyways and you hate how your heart clenches at these words); and that he spends 45 minutes taking his showers. but what gojo doesn’t know is that you adore him the most first thing in the morning – eyes so sleepy he can barely keep them open, voice gruff and low asking what’s for breakfast, wearing his sleeping gray sweatpants and nothing else. and he will never know lest you want to ruin everything you’ve worked so hard to build between the three of you.
you moved your eyes away from gojo to where suguru was leaning on the door. he was wearing a blue hawaiian shirt with the three top buttons popped off, paired with simple black swimming shorts. his hair was put into a perfect manbun, however, unrelenting bangs always make themselves known untangled from the rest of his locks. you noticed it back when you were teenagers and got used to carrying bobby pins for him – he somehow always leaves them at home (you will never admit but you love the fact that he always forgets them – it gives you another reason to run your fingers through his hair) – and this habit stayed with you all the way into adulthood. while satoru was handsome in a regal way, suguru was all sharp edges that made him look almost dangerous – pronounced jaw, pointy nose, almost cat-like eyes; the kind of beauty that always makes you weak in the knees.
“see something you like?” satoru’s voice takes you out of your daydream and, shamefully, you realize you’ve been standing in the corridor doorway, gawking at them like it’s your first time seeing their faces. you only groan in response and roll your eyes, trying to hide the blush that adores your neck and flushes your cheeks red.
“if i saw something i like, i would’ve told you,” and you stick your tongue out. liar.
“are you feeling well? you look a little red, maybe you got a fever?” comes from suguru’s side now as he tries to reach for your forehead but you swat his hand away.
“ugh, i hate both of you.” liar. they only laugh when you rush past them, megumi and nanako on either side of you holding your hands while tsumiki sits on satoru’s shoulders and mimiko takes her rightful place on suguru’s back.
“whatever you say, sweetheart.”
the way to the beach is short and sweet, your attention is fully dedicated to megumi and nanako as they re-tell you the stories from their weekend. ‘gumi won a plushy and gave it to mimiko because she asked him to play in the first place, and tsumiki, apparently, had the highest score in the game where you punch a bag to see how strong you are. nanako says that helping satoru bake the cheesecake on sunday was her favorite part of the weekend, and you make a mental note to let her help you the next time you do it.
from behind you, geto and gojo observe your interactions with the kids, each of them in their own thoughts, yet both mulling over the same thing – you, letting tsumiki and mimiko chat between themselves.
neither of them thought you would become a constant in their lives when they decided to take in the kids – after all, none of you were in a relationship, despite their feelings for you, and you had no obligations to be giving them so much of your time. but as the time went on, all three of you fell into a comfortable routine that was both a blessing and a curse – they couldn’t confess that the boyish crush they had on you in your teenage years not only endured but blossomed into something so much more. that something kept growing inside their ribcages, weaving and building a home there, rooting itself so deep, they forgot what life was like before you offered them your light.
satoru and suguru only discussed this once between each other. the unspoken feelings they had not only for you but also for each other made already complex situation even more complicated. the fear of damaging the carefully built dynamic between the three of you was overwhelming - so overwhelming in fact, both agreed to never speak of this again. pandora’s box was sealed, and only you behold the power to open it. the strongest duo knows why this little box of wonders needs to be locked far away from them - however, it’s moments like this, when megumi asks to be carried in your hands (even though he’s getting too big for that) while nanako clenches your hand harder and you indulge both of them without a moment’s delay, that make them wish you knew: knew how much suguru adores the little tilt to your head when you’re confused about something, knew how much satoru loves smoothing out the wrinkles on your head when you’re deep in the thought, knew how both of them yearn for your laugh after a long day.
the cute white bikini you’re wearing is definitely not helping the ever-running thoughts two men are trying so hard to push down. it’s not the first time the absolute indecency of their desire is sparked by the slight bounce of your tits and the swing of your hips. memories of countless times they had to take an extra shower in the morning because you would show up in the kitchen in one of their shirts, without a bra, nipples hard and visible through a thin fabric, should make them feel embarrassed, yet the shame never comes. when did the longing for you start feeling so right?
as the years progressed, this dance the three of you did around each other became familiar, and none of you dared to switch the melody.
sometimes you wish you were brave enough to do it.
“look, look, we’re finally here!” mimiko yells from suguru’s back and then instructs him to put her down. nanako lets go of your hand as tsumiki’s climbing down satoru’s shoulders, and three girls run away towards the sea.
“be careful! you still need to put your sunscreen, don’t run away too far!” you move your attention to the little boy you released from your hold as you entered the beach, “‘gumi, you’re not going with them?”
you wiggle his arm back and forth (his hand is so tight in yours, gripping now harder than before) but he refuses to look at you so you don’t push.
“did you forget he doesn’t know how to swim?” satoru says from behind you, and you shoot him a look. god, was he purposefully trying to rile megumi? fushiguro only digs his fingers further into your hand, and you honestly want to bite satoru’s head off.
“that’s okay, baby, i’m sure your dad needed support of his whole clan when he was trying to learn how to swim.”
“he is not my dad.”
your brain goes blank for a second, and you hope satoru did not hear what you just said (he did; but he thinks he’ll spare you the further embarrassment; he also doesn’t want to admit that it makes his stomach turn in a way he wish it wouldn’t).
“you’re right, dummy like him could never be your dad.”
you find the spot not too far from where the girls are playing, and you help geto and gojo set up the blankets and umbrellas. while they are making sure none of it flies away with the first gust of the wind, you search for the sunscreen in your bag.
“girls! come here, we need to put sunscreen on you!”
you hear the tatter of 6 feet rushing towards you, trying to get first in line so they can all get back to playing in the water. you hand satoru and suguru two other tubes you brought.
“help me to put this on them. i think if we don’t do it in the next minute, they will actually explode,” you say, smiling at how impatient tsumiki is being in front of you as she keeps bouncing on her legs. before you start on the sunscreen, you turn her so her back is facing you and let her hair out of the ponytail as you try to retie it. she winces a bit and lets out a small ouch.
“’m sorry baby, didn’t meant to hurt you, you okay?” you ask as you rub on the roots of her hair.
“yeah, i’m okay!” she exclaims loudly, making you giggle. once her bun is all set in place, you quickly put the sunscreen on her whole body, finishing with the face, and boop her nose. tsumiki scrunches it in her adorable way, and you feel your heart swell with joy and love.
once the girls run off again, suguru comes up to you with the tube of sunscreen in hands.
“don’t you think you need a little help too?”
the smile adorning his face is so sweet, he doesn’t realize the summersaults it’s making your heart to do. and when you think about those hands on your shoulders, on your back, going lower where you want them most, you realize you actually might be burning up. but you can’t come up with an excuse fast enough not to let him do it so, without any words lest you’ll be embarrassing yourself, you just turn around and present him your back.
geto start slowly with your shoulders, squeezing the tube and spreading the sunscreen on your soft skin. you swear you can hear him sharply inhale, and your heart involuntarily skips a beat. you let yourself wonder, just for a second, how these hands would feel on the parts of your body where you want them most, if geto would be as gentle squeezing your breasts and tugging at your nipples. and when his hands start travelling lower, caressing the space between your shoulder blades and running his fingers down your spine, you wonder if his long digits would reach the spot inside your gummy walls that you’re unable to find yourself. you absolutely lose yourself to the indecent thoughts when he starts massaging the sunscreen into your lower back. that man, you think, if only he knew what he was doing. it takes all of your willpower to prevent yourself from moaning out loud and not tremble at his mere touch. you want to lean back and tilt your head to the side so geto can leave a trail of wet kisses on the side of your neck, following the curve of it to your jaw, and capture your lips in a way that only lovers can.
you can feel your skin grow hot and your white bikini better not show how embarrassingly wet you got from your best friend’s touch. you’re so sick, you think to yourself and before it becomes any worse, you’re untangling yourself from suguru’s arms and call out for megumi.
“i… uh… will go swim with him, don’t want him to get bored,” you breathlessly whisper as if too afraid to speak any louder, and call out to the boy.
“‘gumi, common! grab your floaties and we’ll go play a little further away from the girls,” you wait for him to grab his stuff, and you notice one of his rare smiles – he never hid the fact that you were his favorite out of three adults, and he always feels a little smug when your undivided attention is on him. satoru shoots him a knowing look which megumi successfully ignores, clinging to you.
you pass the girls as you show them the direction you’re taking megumi in and they all say “okay!” at the same time like it’s rehearsed. mimiko, nanako and tsumiki are in a competition to see who can gather the most seashells and are left under the attentive gaze of gojo and geto. you help megumi put his floaties on and gather him into your arms so you can walk a little deeper: once you’re satisfied with the distance, you try to let him go but he is attached to you like a baby koala.
“common ‘gumi, i promise i won’t let you go, okay? i’ll be right here in case you need help, and i’ll be also holding onto you the whole time.”
fushiguro only violently shakes his head, not wanting to be in the water by himself. you wonder where this fear comes from and think you’ll have to revisit it later. you don’t push any further, and hug him closer, running a smoothing hand on his back while he puts his head on your shoulder. you squat a little to help him get adjusted to the temperature, and he shrieks from the sudden rush of water above his waist while hugging you tighter, almost choking you. laughter bubbles in your throat but you don’t want to make megumi feel worse than he already does so you try your best not to let it out.
“hey, baby, it’s okay. i am holding you, yeah?” and as you say that, you try to push him away from you one more time, to let him experience the ocean by himself but he only tightens his hold as a sign he is not moving away. so you resign to gently swaying with him in the water, letting the salty waves wash around you. you can feel the sunlight dancing on your skin, warm breeze carrying all your worries away, if just for a moment, and you close your eyes allowing yourself to take all of it in. megumi’s head is pleasantly heavy on your shoulder, and you walk little bit further away from the beach until you bump into someone.
“oh, i am so sorry!” you instantly apologize and turn around. what you don’t expect is to be met with the pair of the most beautiful green eyes you see (your mind involuntarily goes to gojo and how even these emerald eyes pale to comparison to the infinity carried by his gaze). you think if your heart didn’t belong to the two most annoying human beings you’ve ever had a pleasure of encountering, you would’ve fallen head over hills right here, right now.
“please, no need to apologize.”
surprise number two: this stranger is not only handsome, but also has a voice that makes you want to do whatever he asks you to, as long as he keeps talking to you. and again, you think how unfortunate of you to fall in love with two people you can’t have when men like this walk around for free.
he smiles when his attention falls to megumi - little boy appears not to be happy with this encounter. who does this man thinks he is? maybe megumi didn’t want to learn how to swim, it doesn’t mean that he is willing to share you when he just got you away from two men on the beach (he is not old enough to rationalize that what he is feeling is jealousy; you never noticed but, geto and gojo excluded, he never liked how other men talk to you in the first place).
a handsome stranger doesn’t seem taken aback by the attitude from megumi, and for a seven-year-old, your little boy has a mean death stare.
“he is very cute, what is his name?”
“he’s megumi,” you give him your name as well and extend the arm for introduction. before a man can even respond, megumi is tugging your arm away and whines, speaking loud enough for satoru and suguru to hear, who, unbeknownst to you, have been watching the interaction this whole time (spoiler – they are not very happy about it but proud of the kid, truly an oscar-worthy performance).
“mommy, i want to learn how to swim now!”
you think you heard him wrong – he has never called you this before. if it happened any other time, you think you would’ve cried tears of happiness. now it only makes you feel stupor. how does he even know to call you mommy in this situation? megumi has always been the most well-behaved one out of all four kids, the disbelief at his attitude is written all over your face. what is he playing at?
“oh, i’m sorry, i didn’t realize he was your kid,” the man says but hurries to add, “i adore children though; i work at a pre-school. hi megumi, my name is rei.”
the boy looks at the outstretched hand the man offered like it personally offended him. all of a sudden, he points to the beach where satoru and suguru seat and announces, yet again loud enough for them to hear.
“my daddies are just right there!”
what happened to “he’s not my dad?” you think in panic.
you’re not sure if gojo and geto can hear the full conversation, but they wave back at you anyways. rei moves his gaze from you to megumi to two men on the beach, trying to decide if he should believe it or not. you, on the other hand, are speechless and currently wishing someone would be kind enough to curse you right now, or for the ground to split and swallow you whole with how hot and embarrassed you feel. megumi is so grounded today. you can feel the inner temperature rise to the inappropriate levels, feeling like a kettle that is about to overheat – you don’t wait for rei’s response while saying awkward “bye, nice meeting you!” and rushing away.
“welcome back, mommy,” satoru teases when you settle back at your spot. megumi is sitting on the opposite side of you, munching on the watermelon like he didn’t just make an absolute fool out of you in front of a random man. you try your best to ignore satoru, but his comment only makes you groan, sound almost bordering a sob.
“please, for the love of everything holy, don’t say another word. i bet it was you who put this idea into his head.”
“you know as well as we do that you can’t make megumi do anything he doesn’t want to,” gojo responds with the knowing smirk, and you only sink into yourself further. your face is burning up, and now you think it’s not because megumi’s whole afternoon mission was apparently to embarrass you in front of a stranger but because of what he said. the shock of the moment is finally dissipating, instead giving the space to indescribable tenderness. you will have to cry about it later on your own so to save yourself further shame, you hide your face behind your hat and lay down, contemplating how this one simple word somehow turned all of your insides upside down.
what you fail to notice is the proud smile satoru shoots to megumi, mouthing “good job” and suguru passing him his favorite candy knowing he’s not allowed to eat it before dinner.
Tumblr media
you feel absolutely drained. after the incident with megumi, you stayed in the same position until the kids started complaining that they were hungry. the sun is getting low, painting the skies ochre and pink, giving everyone its glowing kiss. you dare to peek at satoru and suguru, and they looked almost ethereal – sunshine dancing on satoru’s white eyelashes as he dries tsumiki with a towel and nodding enthusiastically at the collection of shells she is showing him, while suguru tries to untie nanako’s wet hair so he can wrap a towel around it. mimiko slowly drags her legs towards you, poor girl absolutely exhausted, and as soon as you open your arms to embrace her with a towel of her own, she plops against you and almost momentarily falls asleep.
suguru offers to carry her home, but you wave him off, asking to grab megumi’s hand instead.
“i am not cooking once we get home, we better buy food now or we can drive into the city.”
“ugh, i don’t think i have the strength to drive,” satoru whines like he is the youngest out of the bunch. “let’s just buy something here, it smells pretty good.”
suguru only hums in agreement, listening to nanako and tsumiki argue about who got the most shells (both fail to count their shells correctly), and with that, your dinner plans are decided with satoru ordering your food from the stall nearby.
“what do we say when someone gets you food?”
“thank you, gojo-san!” three little voices echo each other, and you’re surprised even megumi joined in. the way back home is quick as you’re standing in front of your door in no time.
“oh my god, my legs are killing me,” you complain as you pass the threshold of the house. mimiko has been sleeping in your arms the whole way back, and you don’t know if you should wake her up and ask her to eat, or if you should just let her sleep. you can still smell the ocean on her skin, and you decide it’s best for her hygiene and your peace of mind that she is clean before she goes to bed too so with a heavy heart, you’re gently shaking her awake once you sit down on the couch.
“hey sweetie, we’re home. let’s eat, bathe and then i’ll put you back to bed, yeah?” her eyes are unfocused as she opens them, and she’s letting out a long yawn before slowly nodding her head and getting up.
“okay, everyone, go wash your hands, dinner will be ready soon,” suguru says from where he already stands in the kitchen, and all four pairs of legs excitedly hurry away.
“i hope the adventure today is enough to put them all to sleep right away,” you wistfully say.
“with their tummies full, i’m sure they will pass out in no time,” suguru says back while satoru circles around him to grab the plates from the overhead cupboards. you want to get up and help but looking at them like this, all domestic and familiar, the side of the strongest sorcerers only you get to see, makes you stall for a second to appreciate this moment for a little longer. the dull ache in your chest starts throbbing again as if someone’s picking at the rough edges that never seem to fully heal, and you wonder if you could have it all if you were a little more selfish. you shake your head banishing all unnecessary thoughts from your head.
the dinner is eaten quickly, everyone so hungry, you barely exchange any words. you can see the children are struggling to keep their eyes open, tsumiki almost falling face first into the plate, so you make a quick work of their unfinished dinner and hurry them into a bathtub. megumi insists he is old enough to take a bath separately from the girls so you ask either satoru or suguru to help him (megumi makes it known who he prefers by grabbing suguru’s hand and dragging him to the second bathroom). bath time is also surprisingly quiet, low energy in the room being an indicator of just how exhausted everyone is.
with the kids finally tucked into bed (megumi apologized for misbehaving, and you think about how far you’ve come with the boy who wouldn’t utter a full sentence to you for the first 6 months), you grab the beer from the fridge and make your way onto the patio where satoru and suguru are already engaged in conversation.
they turn their heads toward you once you step outside and offer you the space between them which you gladly take. you can see suguru is nursing his own beer, while satoru opted out for a bottle of virgin mojito.
“did neither of you really ask megumi to call me “mommy” today?” you wonder out loud as you’re looking out into the horizon, where the last rays of sun melt into the ocean, clearing the canvas for the stars to spark to life.
“nah, you know how stubborn that kid is,” satoru drawls as he takes another sip of the drink; you scrunch your nose just imagining how sweet that concoction is but smile, nonetheless. “plus, it was nice being called a dad.”
both you and suguru turn to look at him, but he stubbornly keeps staring forward. you snort, seeing geto’s smile in your peripheral vision, but there is no malice behind your action. both you and suguru always knew that gojo cared in the same capacity as the two of you for the kids, he was just a little more stubborn about admitting it. you can see it in the way he handles them after they wake up from nightmares (because he knows the same thing haunts him), how he packs them lunches to school when neither you or suguru are able to do it (i know i am not as great of a cook as those two but it’s better than buying stuff from the store), how he allows them to have sweets from his secret stash when everyone else (even you and geto) are not permitted to even think about it. the two of you always knew how much he cared – satoru just needed a little push to say it out loud.
you’re about to say something witty but suguru speaks up first.
“would you have continued flirting with that man if it wasn’t for megumi?”
“flirting? i wasn’t flirting with him!”
“whatever, talking,” geto waves a hand at you like it’s all unimportant details. “would you?”
the air suddenly feels charged with electricity, years of longing and yearning threaten to rip everything at the seams. you tried so hard to move past them, move past your silly little crush, failing miserably. not that dating other people was an option for you anyways – you are sure anyone, upon hearing that you take care of four small children at only age 21, will run away in the opposite direction. it’s a good thing it didn’t matter to you either way – the kids became an integral part of your life, and you would not give them up for anything. but sometimes, just sometimes, when the loneliness creeps into the parts of your bones that have no space for it, when the heart becomes a little too big for your own chest trying to escape through rushed beats, when you tremble from how longing encompasses your whole being, you wonder how it would feel if romantic love was made for you too.
you tilt your head to look at suguru, trying to find something in his face. he doesn’t know why he asked that question – maybe it’s the sun rush of the day, the good mood he’s been in recently or how that man looked at your body – but it felt right. and he knows he’s being selfish without discussing it with satoru beforehand, but he’s so tired of hiding, so tired of pretending like he doesn’t dream of waking up next to your warm bodies, so tired of thinking about what ifs and could haves - asking that question only felt right.
“no, i don’t think i would’ve returned his sentiment,” you simply state and hope that they would leave it at that. you know they never do.
“why?” it’s satoru’s turn in this interrogation, and he looks at you in a way that makes your pulse pick up its pace.
“because…” you don’t know what you’re supposed to say. because you’re in love with your best friends? have been since you were 16 years old? you’ve been carrying the weight of unrequited love for so long now, you think you’re afraid what will happen to the space it occupies if you confess. you hope you know them enough to realize they will not make fun of you for your confession, at most making lighthearted jokes about how they always knew you were not immune to their charms, but your palms are getting sweaty just anticipating their reaction.
“because?” satoru nudges you again, and you dare to steal a glance into his baby blues. satoru’s eyes have been compared to the most prized sapphires, an ocean that will never be fully explored, the skies that are bigger than life itself – all the metaphors that describe him to the outside world perfectly. however for you, his eyes are the color of blueberries that he painstakingly picks out of tsumiki’s desserts and gives to megumi; they are the color of his favorite shirt that is more gray now than blue with how much he washed it but refuses to throw away; it’s the blue ribbons he picked out for nanako’s and mimiko’s hair for their first day of school. you look into his eyes and see a sparkle of something familiar, something you’ve seen in your eyes times and times before, staring back from the reflection in the mirror.
unexpectedly, you feel dizzy and don’t know if it’s the summer breeze that makes your head feel heavy, the alcohol swimming in your veins, or the present company, but you’re brought back to when you were all 16 and innocent, to the moment before the steady ground was violently ripped from right underneath your feet. you think about amanai and that she still loved and cared despite knowing how all of it would end for her. you think about haibara, and how he was full of promise and life and so, so much love, you almost feel sick again.
you’re quiet as you contemplate, and the men don’t interrupt your train of thoughts. memories flash before your eyes like snapshots of old cameras, making them wonder where you have gone off to.
but then you think about how it ended, for the both of your friends, in blood and violence and guilt, their life threads cut short before either of them knew what life even is. amanai and haibara didn’t get enough time to figure it all out: have they loved anyone the way you love satoru and suguru? would have they have had time to figure it out if it was a fair world?
you can feel your best friends’ body heat wrap around you, encapsulating you in their scent and presence, and you decide you’d like to stay like this forever. you think about everyone who didn’t get to spend another hour with someone they love, and you realize you’d regret it your whole life if something happens and they didn’t know how they make you feel. and with the life you lead, something can happen at any moment. you steady your hands and take a deep breath, reading yourself. now or never.
“because i am in love with you two, and i have been since we were 16.”
you close your eyes, waiting for the laugh to come, for them to say oh, you little silly girl, to chastise you for falling for the only two people that will never be yours. you wait and wait but nothing comes. instead, you feel someone’s knuckles brushing lightly against yours and gasp, opening your eyes. what you didn’t expect to see is your two best friends looking at you as if they are seeing you for the first time, their lips stretch in smiles so wide, it looks like it’s supposed to hurt. and eyes, their eyes, say so much without them needing to say anything at all.
“so… what you’re saying is that we’ve been blue balling each other since we were 16?”
“ohmygodsatorupleasestop,” words leave your mouth all jumbled up, you’re sure they didn’t understand what you said. gojo might be a little crude but the meaning behind his childish metaphor is not lost on you – three of you have been oblivious to each other’s feelings for five years now, and a pang of regret shoots through you. how different would everything be if you were brave enough to confess all those years ago?
“have both of you really known since you were 16?”
“yes.”
“yes.”
both of them say it with such conviction, you feel yourself get lightheaded. you don’t want to cry but tears are pooling in your eyes involuntarily, and you sniff a little into satoru’s shoulder.
“aw, why are you crying? i thought we all finally agreed to be happy,” suguru coos at you from the side. the warmth of your hand in his still feels unreal – like it’s someone else’s arm attached to him, and he‘s just observing as a passer-by. he brushes your knuckles with the pads of his fingers and it feels right, how your digits perfectly intervene with his and how your head fits just right into the crook of satoru’s neck, and how your lips look so perfectly kissable and shiny right now. but he doesn’t want to rush the fragility of the moment, so he only squeezes your hand tighter.
“because we could’ve had this all this time… if we were just a little braver.”
“don’t you think we are already brave enough, all the time?” satoru asks this time. “maybe it’s okay for us to be a little cowardly, even if it’s not entirely good for us. we have next memory to look forward to anyways.” gojo lifts your head and looks into your teary eyes – you’re so beautiful, it almost hurts. he let his daydreams to be full of you and your lips and your touch, that it takes everything in him not to cross the distance in a searing kiss. but he knows it’s not the right moment, so he just swipes your tears away and kisses you on the forehead. behind you, you can feel suguru’s lips gently touch your exposed shoulder.
and just like that, all worries dissipate like sand through the cracks between fingers. what is the point of worrying about the past when you have future full of love in front of you? you don’t know what tomorrow holds for three of you with your souls now bare for each other, but you have the time to discover it together. for now, you’re content with this moment, salty ocean breeze dancing on your skin, the warmth of suguru’s palm in yours and satoru’s shoulder lulling you to sleep, and you think that maybe you’ve always meant to end up here, between them.

Series Masterlist Never Too Late Masterlist
Every day for the past three weeks, you had been counting down to the 19th on your family calendar stuck to the side of your fridge, where the words “date night” had been scribbled in Javi’s messy handwriting. While you loved your girls, it had been a while since just you and Javi had a night to yourselves, so when Chuhco offered to babysit, the 4 of you couldn’t have been more thrilled- You and Javi got an evening alone, and Lucy and Elliot got to spend the night with their favorite Abuelito (Grandpa) at the ranch, getting lots of quality time with the animals, and one too many late night snacks.
You had been looking forward to this day for weeks, and that’s why when the 19th finally arrived, you couldn’t have been more disappointed that everything that could have gone wrong that day, felt like it had.
Lucy insisting she help with breakfast before preschool and dropping the rest of the egg carton on your kitchen floor.
Elliot refusing to nap while Lucy was at school, leaving you with no time to get any of the things done around the house you had planned.
The dog getting into the bathroom garbage and then throwing up 14 qtips on your carpet.
The girls having a meltdown at the grocery store because they couldn’t bring home one of the balloons from the end of the checkout aisle.
Going on an hour long manhunt for Flipper, Lucy’s favorite stuffed penguin she insisted had to go with her to Chucho’s, which ended up being hidden under a blanket in her bed.
Snapping at the girls out of frustration as they chased each other through the kitchen while you were trying to finish making them dinner.
Your pounding headache and tired body from feeling like you had been doing nothing but scrambling all day long just to stay afloat.
And now, with Lucy teaming up with Elliot in their no-nap strike, you hadn’t even had time to shower or get ready for your date by the time Javi had gotten home, leaving you with barely under an hour  before you had to leave to make it to your dinner reservations on time.
You wanted so desperately to just forget about the shitshow that had been your Friday, but try as you might, you couldn’t help but find yourself in an overwhelmed and grouchy mood. A mood that you did not want to be in on your long awaited date night with Javi, your internal battle of emotions only dampening your spirit further.
As you heard the garage door open and Javi’s familiar footsteps make their way down the hallway, you fought with everything in you to try and put on the happiest face you could, as if you were going to be able to will yourself out of your funk to enjoy the night with your husband.
“Hi, Hermosa.” Javi beamed, setting down his bag to wrap you in a hug, pressing a soft kiss onto your forehead before looking down at you in slight confusion, seeing that you were still in leggings and one of his oversized t-shirts, hair plopped up in a messy bun with very little time left before the 4 of you needed to head out to Chucho’s to make it to your dinner reservations. “Listen, baby, you know I think you look absolutely stunning in anything, but I do think the restaurant may be a touch nicer than my 20 year old t-shirt from college.”
“I know, sorry, it’s just been- It’s been a day. The girls are in the living room playing, do you mind getting their bags and watching them until we have to go so I can shower?” You tried your best to force a smile up at Javi, who was now cradling your jaw in his large palm, tracing his thumb along your cheek. His big brown eyes stared back at you, almost as if he knew there was something off that you didn’t want to get into right now, planting another kiss in your messy hair as you let out a deeper than intended exhale.
“Of course, Osita. Anything else I can do to help while you get ready?””
“No, just that. Thanks, Jav.”
“DADDY!” Two pairs of tiny feet pattered down the hallway, Lucy and Elliot bolting towards their dad with arms outstretched, Javi now squatting down to greet them with a smile stretched across his face, almost as wide as theirs.
“Ahhhh, there are my pollitas! C’mere mis amorcitas (my little loves).” Scooping the girls up in his arms, Javi picked up Elliot and Lucy, resting one on each hip, peppering little kisses over their faces, making them erupt in laughter. “Let’s head back to the living room so we can let Momma get ready before we leave for Abuelito’s house, sí?”
“Okay, Daddy! Will you play horsies with us?” Lucy squealed, wrapping her little arms around Javi’s neck, giving him a hug.
“Of course, Lucy Goosey.” Javi turned back to give you one last smile as he whisked the girls off to the living room, the sight of him carrying your daughters with such genuine joy and happiness being the first thing that had brought genuine relief today.
The relief was short lived though, now looking up at the clock to see you were down to 45 minutes to shower and make yourself look like a halfway decent human. You frantically sped through your routine, cranking up the temperature of the water in the shower to as hot as it could go as you tried to wash away the remnants of your day. Unfortunately, the water could have been a million degrees and it wouldn’t have been enough- You forgot you were out of shampoo, having to settle for Javi’s instead, and after trying to speed shave, you realized as you were drying yourself off, you had completely forgotten to shave the bottom half of your right leg.
You were thankful for the loud fan in your master bathroom, knowing it was enough to drown your tears as you stared yourself down in the mirror, feeling like an absolute mess. You didn’t feel excited, or pretty, or any of the things you wanted to feel before going out on your date. Truth be told, you felt like a shitty, worn down gremlin of a mom who just wanted to do nothing more than curl up in a blanket and hide away from the world for the rest of the night. Taking a long inhale, you shook your head, forcing yourself to wipe the wetness away from your cheeks to finish getting ready, and while with your hair and makeup done, and cute flowy dress wrapped around your body, you looked externally  better than you had an hour ago, internally, you still didn’t feel much better.
You grabbed your coat and purse, making your way back into the living room to see Javi changed into navy dress pants and sport coat to match, with a white button down underneath, sitting on the couch with one daughter on each side, arms wrapped around them while they read “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” for what you were sure must have been the 17th time since you had gotten into the shower, considering it was the only book Lucy had wanted to read in the past week. Hearing you step through the doorway, Javi’s face lit up, biting down on his lip as he nudged the girls, pointing towards you. “Pollitas, look. Doesn’t Mommy look so pretty?”
“You’re so beautiful, Mommy!” Lucy grinned, bolting up off the couch, wrapping her arms around your leg, squeezing it tightly.
“So pweety, Mommy!” Elliot cooed, toddling over to join her sister, clutching around your other leg.
You could feel the tears beginning to well behind your eyes again, seeing your little girls attached at your hip and your sweet husband staring back at you, wondering how in the world had given you 3 people who loved you so much on the days you loved yourself so little. You let out a little gulp, trying to choke back your sobs, leaning down to kiss each of the girls on the head.
“Thank you Munchkins. Not as beautiful as my little chickens or as handsome as your Daddy, but that’s okay. You ready to go to Abuelito’s?” You mumbled through your words, your tone now making Javi’s brow scrunch in concern, giving you that look he gave you when he knew something was bothering you and you were being too stubborn to admit it. With enthusiastic squeals from the girls, they were practically running out the front door to the car, you following close behind them with their overnight bags, Javi following behind you just as closely, desperate to figure out what was on your mind.
Tumblr media
The drive to Chucho’s was fairly quiet besides Lucy and Elliot’s sing-along to the Lion King soundtrack that had been a permanent fixture in your car for the past few car rides. As the girls half babbled the words in the backseat, Javi reached over, resting his hand on your thigh and rubbing soft circles against your skin, giving you that look that said, “I know something’s wrong and you’re not telling me”, you exchanging back with an incredibly unconvincing, “It’s not a big deal, don’t worry about it.”
As you pulled up to the Peña ranch, Chucho was already outside, waiting on the porch in his rocking chair, his face beaming just as sweetly as Lucy and Elliot’s as they ran out of the car to greet their grandpa.
“Hola, nietas! (Hi, granddaughters!)” Chucho cooed, letting out a little grunt as Lucy and Elliot barreled into him, squeezing him in their grasp. “How are my favorite little ladies?”
“Hi Abuelito!”
The girls giggled as Chucho kissed them both on the cheek, smiling up at you and Javi as you carried the girls bags to the front door. “Oh díos mio, girls. Look at how nice your mamá and papá look tonight!”
“Thanks Pops.” Javi laughed, setting one of the bags down on the porch. “You still okay if we come pick these two monsters up tomorrow morning?”
“Monstruos? My sweet nietas? Never.” Chucho laughed, giving the girls a little shake as the two of them giggled at their grandpa. “Come by whenever you’d like. You know I am more than happy to have these two as long as you’ll let me.”
“Thanks, Chucho.” You nodded, setting another bag down next to the one Javi had placed on the porch. “Do you need us to do any-”
“Mija, I have everything I need. Don’t worry about a thing. Now go. The two of you deserve a nice night out. Me and the girls will be just fine, won’t we?” Chucho grinned down at Lucy and Elliot, bouncing in excitement.
“Thanks, Dad. Be good for your Abuelito, sí? I told him if you’re naughty, you’re gonna have to go sleep out with the cows.” Javi teased, kneeling down to the girls level, giving them a little tickle and kiss before wrapping them in his arms. “Te amo, Pollitas. (I love you, little chickens).”
“Bye girls, we’ll see you tomorrow, okay? We love you.” You joined Javi, crouching down to give your girls one last hug and kiss before they were already halfway through the front door, bursting into Chucho’s house with excitement.
You thanked Chucho again, making your way back to the car, pulling down the dusty, dirt driveway before making your way back on the road. “God, I’m convinced he loves those girls more than anything else on the face of this earth. I’m sure that means he won’t mind keeping them just a little longer tomorrow, huh, Hermosa?” Javi smirked, once again placing his hand on your thigh, giving it a little squeeze before realizing you had been staring out the passenger side window from the moment you had gotten in the car, trying desperately to snap yourself out of the terrible funk of your day you just couldn’t seem to shake.
You felt the wetness beginning to pool under your eyelids, your breaths becoming shaky and weary, trying to pull yourself together from the tired, guilty and grumpy mess that you were, but it was no use. “Hermosa? You okay?” Javi asked again, confused by your silence, gripping your leg a little tighter, the sweet and gentle tone of his voice being the final straw that broke the camel’s back. You let your tears fall freely, your sobs becoming louder and heavier as you shook your head back and forth, Javi immediately pulling over the truck to the side of the dirt road, unbuckling his seatbelt and pulling you into a hug as you cried against his chest. “Baby. Baby what’s wrong? Hey, shhhh, it’s okay, Osita. I’m here, it’s okay.”
Javi held you, letting you take your time to cry before trying to prod about the reason behind it, feeling you take long, exasperated deep breaths against him before pulling away, wiping away the tears that had been flowing down your face. “It’s been such a shitty day, Jav. I felt like such a bad mom, and I’m so tired and I’ve been looking forward to this date with you for so long and I’m just fucking exhausted. I’m so sorry. Our date hasn’t even started yet and I’m already ruining it.” It wasn’t long before you were sobbing again, leaning back into the broadness of Javi’s body as he immediately wrapped his arms around you, gently cradling the back of your head as you cried, feeling his own heart break from seeing how hard you were on yourself.
“Hermosa…” He cooed, pressing you against his chest while he ran his fingers through your hair. “Baby… Listen to me, okay? You are not a bad mom. You are the most wonderful mother in the world to our girls. I have no fucking clue how you do what you do all day long, but there is no one else in the world I would rather have to help raise them with. You are so sweet and patient with them, God, they’re little mini versions of you and I couldn’t be happier. You are an amazing mom, you understand?”
“It didn’t feel like it today. God, they were so tough today and it was exhausting, I yelled at them today for running in the kitchen and I felt so bad, I just- fuck- being a mom is so hard, Jav. I love it, I do, I love those girls so much, but today I felt like I was running for worst parent of the year award. And now I can’t even pull it together enough for our date that we’ve both been looking forward to. I’m so sorry, Javi.”
“Osita, you are not ruining anything. Baby, if I get to spend time with you, I’m happy. I don’t care where we go or what we do, if I’m with you, it doesn’t matter. So, that being said,” he paused, tilting your head up towards him, gently wiping away your tears with his thumb, “we’re gonna go home, pick up pizza, open a bottle of wine, sit and soak in the tub for as long as you want to, and then I’m gonna make sweet, sweet love to my beautiful, amazing wife until she knows just how much I love and appreciate everything she does for our family. Okay?” You let out a little huff of laughter, a small smile finally appearing in the corners of your lips as you helped to wipe your tears away.
“Are you sure? You planned dinner reservations and I-”
“I’ve never been so sure. I love you, Osita. You are everything to me, and I promise I will spend the rest of my life trying to make sure you remember it.”
“God, now you’re gonna make me cry even more, you dummy.” You laughed, Javi joining in as you gave him a playful nudge. “I love you too, Jav. You’re way too good to me. I don’t know what I’d do without you.” As Javi’s sweet brown eyes locked with yours, the weight in your chest began to ease, wondering how in the world you had gotten so goddamn lucky. Buckling himself back in, and shifting the car into drive, Javi turned around, changing directions back to home, resting your head against his shoulder.
“Can we get breadsticks with the pizza, too?”
“Whatever you want, baby, it’s yours.”
Tumblr media
With an extra large pizza and breadsticks in your lap, the drive back to your house was spent in a much lighter mood than your drive to drop off the girls at their grandpa’s. You switched out the Lion King disk in your CD player for Fleetwood Mac, the two of you happily singing along to “I Don’t Wanna Know” as you pulled back into the driveway of your house.
You were greeted by your dog, Bear, wagging his tail in delight at your presence from the comfort of the couch, rolling over to show you his belly, Javi gladly obliging in giving him some scratches before Bear gladly put himself back to sleep, curled up against a throw pillow. “Old man could really give two shits about us being home, huh?” Javi laughed, giving the dog one last pat before making his way back over to you in the kitchen, already shoving a cheesy piece of pizza into your mouth.
“I think he’s just as relieved from a night off from the gremlins as we are.” You laughed, catching a stringy piece of cheese that had fallen from your lips, making you and Javi both chuckle. “Is it bad if we eat pizza and drink wine in the tub?” You raised an eyebrow at Javi, gesturing towards your food, anxious to take a relaxing soak, your tub used more frequently by Lucy and Elliot than either of the two of you these days.
“Of course not, Osita. Why don’t you get stuff ready upstairs and I’ll bring wine and pizza up? What wine do you want?”
“I mean… It is date night. Should we break out the nice wine the Murphy’s got us the last time they came over? We did say we were saving it for a special occasion.” You smirked, holding up your half eaten piece of pizza to toast to your failed date night out, you and Javi both shaking your heads in laughter. Javi reached up in the cabinet above the fridge, pulling out the bottle and examining it before getting out a bottle opener and popping off the top.
“God, the amount of shit Steve would give me to know that this got opened to be drank in our fucking bathtub…”
“What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.” You winked, giving Javi a kiss on the cheek before taking the last bite of your pizza. “Meet you upstairs?”
“Can’t wait.”
After making your way up the stairs and into your master bathroom, you cranked on the water in the tub, making it hot enough for your liking, but not hot enough Javi would complain about it being the surface of the sun. You thought that you had another set of bubbles to put in the bath besides the ones that you used for the girls, but after digging around in the bathroom cabinet, you had to settle for the bright pink, birthday cake scented bottle Lucy had insisted on getting during your last shopping trip. After the tub was full and bubbles were mixed and foaming, you stripped your clothes, dropping them on the tile floor in a heap next to the bathtub before tying up your hair and stepping into the water, sinking down to your neck and letting out a deep sigh as you closed your eyes in relief. You could feel the tension beginning to ease from your body, taking a moment to sit in the sweet silence before you heard Javi’s footsteps trailing up the stairs, gently swinging open the bathroom door, pizza and wine in his hands and a soft smile on his face.
“Give me one more second, okay?” Setting down his things on the counter, Javi exited back out of the bathroom, quickly returning with a handful of candles and lighter, placing them around the room and lighting them all before turning off the overhead lights, the light of orange and yellow flames flickering against the walls in a soft, warm glow.
“Wow, didn’t know I was going to the spa tonight. Very romantic of you, Jav.” You grinned, crossing your arms over the edge of the tub, resting your chin overtop of them as you stared at Javi, now undressing himself of his own clothes, throwing them into the pile with yours. “And the spa has hot naked men bringing me pizza and wine? God, I should come here more often.” You giggled, looking up at him in admiration as he passed you over your plate and glass before grabbing his own and stepping in to join you, sliding down the porcelain on the opposite side of the tub. “Thank you for this, Javi. I know it’s not what we had planned, but I really needed this.”
“Of course, mi amor (my love).” Javi smiled at you, bringing his slice of pizza halfway up to his mouth before taking an over exaggerated sniff of the bubbles below him. “Why does the bath smell like a birthday cake?”
“I thought I had other bubbles but the only ones I could find were Lucy and Ellie’s so we have birthday cake flavored bubbles.” The two of you laughed, shaking your heads as you bit down into your pizza, knowing that there was no one else in the world you could be happier to spend a night in a tub full of birthday cake bubbles with.
Tumblr media
After you had finished your dinner and were a few more glasses of wine in, you had shifted in the tub so that you were settled in between Javi’s legs,  resting with your back against his chest and leaning your head back on your shoulder with his hands wrapped around your body, the two of you chatting and laughing away, not knowing or caring how much time had gone by. You had covered everything from Javi’s day at work, to vacation plans, now to Lucy’s interest in soccer, which had been a hot topic of conversation.
“I know, I was talking to some of the other moms at the preschool about it, and they said they’d have their girls do soccer too, they just don’t have anyone to coach. They’re trying to find one of the dads to do it so they can start in the spring.”
“Are you trying to get me to coach a soccer team?” Javi laughed, rubbing his hands up and down the length of your arms. “Baby, I know absolutely nothing about teaching 4 year olds how to play soccer, you would be better at it than I would.”
“Well exactly, they’re 4 Jav, it can’t be rocket science. I think you would be good at it. You know Lucy would whip everyone into shape to make sure they listened to you.”
“Honestly, she would probably be a better coach than I would.”
“She honestly would. I’m being serious though, baby! You’re so sweet and patient with the girls. Plus, it’d be good eye candy to watch from the sidelines.” You giggled, tilting your head up towards Javi, biting down on your lip.
“Good eye candy, huh?” Javi smirked back down at you, sliding his hand down your arm to your thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze.
“Mmmmhhmmm. I could get to show off my hot, handsome husband and what a great dad he is for his girls. Make all the other moms jealous.” You cooed, shifting your body to face towards him, straddling over his lap, running your hands through the dark curls at the nape of his neck. You could feel Javi’s hands beginning to shift with you, now wrapping his arms around the small of your back, grabbing a fistfull of your ass, kneading the soft flesh in his hands. You tilted your head, letting your lips land tenderly on his before his tongue was swiping in the opening of mouth, the tenderness transforming into a passionate electricity. You let your hands roam down his neck towards his chest, sliding down under the water over his stomach, palming at his dick, already half hard in your hands. “Such a good Daddy, that maybe…” You moaned in between kisses, “Maybe it’s time for you to give me another baby.”
Javi paused, his eyes going wide at your comment, his jaw almost hanging open as he let out a little gulp, his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat. “Hermosa… Baby, are you serious?” He couldn't help but let a boyish grin escape from his lips, his face lighting up brighter than a little kid on Christmas.
You and Javi had agreed you had both wanted a third, but decided to hold off until Elliot was past the 18 month mark before trying again. Javi had been dying for another kid, and had been using as much self restraint as he could to keep from asking you every day if the two of you could start trying for your third child after Elliot had turned a year and a half. It felt ironic that the circumstances you found yourself in to ask him if he wanted to have another baby were because of how exhausted you were from the two you already had, but God, after thinking about him coaching that soccer team, there was something about the thought of your sweet, loving husband with another baby attached to his hip that made any ounce of willpower you had left absolutely dissipate. If Javi wasn’t hard enough from your touch, the thought alone of getting you pregnant again was more than plenty.
“You wanna put another baby in me, Jav?” You smirked, wrapping your hand around his cock, gently stroking it as he groaned, letting his head fall to your shoulder, quietly laughing to himself, almost as if he couldn’t believe his ears.
“Fuck me…”  Javi hissed, tugging you closer towards him, the sudden movement making water splash over the sides of the tub. One of the hands grabbing your ass snaked around to your front, grazing over your hip and inner thigh before making its way between your legs and circling against your clit. “Fuck, I want to so badly. It’s all I’ve been thinking about these past few weeks, how much I wanna grow our family, give the girls another sibling, see you all beautiful and pregnant carrying our perfect baby again. Will you let me, Osita? Let me fuck another baby into you, Momma?” The pressure of his fingers on your sensitive bundle of nerves had you moaning, letting out a soft whimper as his two fingers pressed deep into your heat, slowly rocking his fingers along the soft spongy spot inside you that he knew made you crumble.
“Oh my God, yes. Fuck- fuck, I need you to, Javi, please.” You whined, Javi’s mouth now working its way down to your breasts, sucking and flicking at your pebbled nipples as his fingers fucked into you deeper and harder, burying your head in the crook of his neck, the sensation of his tongue and hands making your pussy begin to flutter. The heel of his palm dug deeper into your clit, pressure building in your belly as your hips rocked against his hand, each roll making more and more water overflow onto the floor as you braced yourself, digging your fingers into the skin of Javi’s broad back as that sweet and familiar tingle built at the base of your spine.
“That’s it, sweet girl, I know you’re close. Give me one on my fingers and then I swear, I’m gonna fuck you so full of me, I’ll get you pregnant tonight.” Javi grunted through gritted teeth, feeling your cunt begin to clench around his fingers, your breathing becoming heavy and shaky as you moaned. Suddenly, you felt the coil in your belly snap, making you cry out as your orgasm ripped through your body, flooding every inch of you with euphoria and pleasure as you reached your peak.
Javi placed languid kisses and nips down your neck and collarbone as you slumped into him, coming down from your high with labored breaths, finally composing yourself enough to sit up to see the satisfied grin spread across his cheeks, a lustful and mischievous look pooling in the dark brown of his eyes as he stared at your blissed out face. “How much you wanna bet?” You smirked, biting down on your lip before leaning in to tug at Javi’s earlobe with your teeth as you scooted closer over his lap, shifting your body up in the water of the tub to hover over his cock, carefully guiding it to line up with your entrance.
“Bet what, Osita?”
“Bet that you get me pregnant tonight?” You mewled, slowly sinking yourself down onto Javi’s length, savoring the sweet sting and stretch of him inside you until you had bottomed out, feeling his tip brush against your cervix. “That 9 months from now, we’ll have one more baby that gets to fill another room in our house?” Gently, you began swirling your hips, letting Javi’s cock stay buried deep inside you, splitting you open in the best way possible, almost making you speechless.
“Jesus Christ, Hermosa…” Javi sighed, digging his fingertips into your sides, guiding your bottom half as it rolled in his lap. “I’d bet anything, because I’m gonna fuck myself so deep inside you, it’ll take. You want another baby? I’ll give you another baby, Osita. I’ll give you anything you want. My beautiful wife, amazing mom to our girls, fuck- you deserve everything.”
Moans escaped from both your parted lips as you began to raise yourself up and down along Javi’s length, now punching along the spot inside you that had your mind going numb. His fingers circled against your already sensitive clit as he thrust up into you, the feeling of him all consuming, even as the lukewarm water of the bath swirled between you. You draped your arms around his neck as his free one wrapped around the small of your back, your bodies melting together as one as you pushed and pulled with each stroke.
You could feel your cunt beginning to clench again, heat blooming in your belly with each swirl of your hips, tugging at the damp curls of Javi’s hair at the nape of his neck as his thrusts became more frantic and sloppy, telling he was just as close to reaching his own high as you were. “Fuck, Javi, fuck- I’m so close baby, oh shit- don’t stop.” You whined into the crook of his neck, pulling yourself even tighter against his body.
“I’m not gonna stop, Osita. Not gonna stop until fuck you full of me and fuck another baby into you. That what you want, Hermosa?” Javi grunted through gritted teeth, pounding deeper and faster into you with each word, the water from the tub sloshing and spilling onto the tile floor below you.
“Yes, fuck- oh my god, yes, fuck Javi, oh shit- fuck baby, I’m gonna-ahhhhhhhh.” Once again, your orgasm radiated through every inch of your body, making your legs shake and mind go blank as you cried out Javi’s name, practically melting into him as he continued to thrust into you with a desperate ferocity, close to his own end. Javi’s arms wrapped around your back, caging you against his chest, fingertips gripping in the soft skin of your shoulder blades as he fucked into you, babbling incoherently.
“That’s it, sweet girl. Fuck, I’m close too, Hermosa. Oh fuck- God, I can’t wait to see you pregnant again. So fucking beautiful carrying our baby. You’re such a- fuck- good mom to our girls, my fucking perfect wife, I’m so luck-ahhhhhhh.” With one final thrust inside you, you could feel Javi painting your walls in his spend, milking himself of every last drop, his breath ragged and heavy as he leaned into you, your chests rising and falling in sync as you came to.
“Well…” You laughed to yourself, shaking your head against Javi’s shoulder where it had been resting, now lifting up to grin at his blissed out face, “Safe to say we should probably clean this tub out before we let the girls use it again.”
Javi joined in your laugher, the two of you giggling to yourselves over your antics, peeking over the side of the tub to see the giant puddles pooling on your bathroom floor. “I mean, the water had soap in it, so at least the floor is clean.” Javi smirked, cupping his hand around your jaw, pressing his smiling lips to yours.
“Clean, really? Not like we need any extra towels or anything to wipe up all the water we spilled all over the floor because now it’s just magically clean, huh Jav?” You teased, giving him a playful nudge, Javi rolling your eyes at your heavy dose of sarcasm. “We probably should get out and wipe all of this up. Any longer in here and I think our future kid is gonna come out just as pruney as we are.”
“Dork. I’ll clean everything up. Why don’t you go put on pajamas and I’ll meet you in bed, okay?”
“Javi, I was just teasing. I am half the reason for this mess, I can help clean it up and-”
Javi silenced the rest of your sentence with his lips, capturing the rest of your words in his mouth. “I know you can, Osita. I want to. Let me clean up. Can’t have you working too hard, Momma. Gotta make sure you stay nice and rested so you can grow baby number 3.”
“You are ridiculous, you know that? You just gonna magically will me to be pregnant after tonight?” You sighed, laughing as the two of you made your way out of the tub, wrapping yourselves up in the fluffy towels you had left out on the bathroom counter, Javi draping his towel around the both of you as he leaned down to press a soft kiss into your messy hair.
“I told you, I’d bet you anything. 5 bucks.”
“5 bucks what, smartass?”
“5 bucks says you don’t get your period and we find out you're pregnant by the end of the month.”
“I’ll tell you one thing, if you are anything, Javier Jesús Peña…” You smirked, pressing up on your tiptoes to peck another kiss on his lips, “it’s confident. I hope you’re right, but I’ll take your bet.”
If Javi was also anything, it wasn’t wrong. Because 4 weeks later, after a missed period and 3 sets of double pink lines on your pregnancy tests, baby Peña number 3 was on their way. So when you handed Javi 5 dollars and a little white box with one of your tests, you couldn’t help but laugh to know that even though your future daughter was the product of a date night gone wrong, it couldn't have felt more right knowing you were lucky enough to grow your family by one more with the man you loved more than anything else in the world.

Things have changed, and it’s a lot harder to deal with than you anticipated..

It had been a couple of weeks since your last intimate encounter with Harry. That also meant that you really hadn’t be able to see him privately since then. You saw each other twice within the two and a half weeks, and that was very odd for you. Harry had a lot of stuff going on with his classes and his internship, while you had a lot going on with your family. You had to take a weekend trip with your parents to visit some family - they pressured you into going, so that sucked up one of your opportunities to see him.
Tonight was finally the time you got to see him for more than half an hour, except like the other two times, it wasn’t private. Your friend group was celebrating someone’s birthday, so there were plans for a dinner at a restaurant and then possibly something after. You weren’t sure if you’d attend the after dinner plans, because you were hoping that Harry would suggest you and him ditch everyone.
You arrived at the restaurant with your friend, Stephanie, who picked you up from your apartment. You followed her inside the restaurant and towards the back where you had been told your table was. Your friends were gathered around a long table, which looked a little too small for everyone, but it was nothing they weren’t used to. It’s hard to accommodate this many people. Nobody ever complained.
One side of the table was made of chairs, while the other was a long bench against the back wall of the restaurant. You gulped gently as you saw Harry was sitting on the outside of the booth, a space between him and your brother, of all people. He was busy looking down at his phone, texting you actually, when you walked up to the table. You were quiet as you appeared next to him. His phone screen was sort of dimmed, but you could see your name and the text he was waiting for you to reply to.
You cleared your throat and tapped his shoulder. He jumped, looking up expecting to see a stranger. As soon as he realized it was you, he laughed and went to stand up. You backed up a little, but he didn’t let you get far. He put his arms around you, giving you a tight squeeze. You did the same, but only allowing one arm to go around his torso. You didn’t want to look too affectionate in front of everyone, especially your own brother.
“Haven’t seen you in forever.” He mumbled against your ear before pulling away.
“Yeah, you’ve been neglecting me.” You laughed slightly, making him grin.
“You’re the one who keeps coming up with plans.”
“Things I can’t get out of.”
Harry decided to let you win the little spat. He sat down and slid over towards Austin, who was not even paying attention to your arrival. That was a relief, though. The less he watched or noticed, the more you could get away with.
“Saved you a seat.” He patted the space next to him, waiting for you to join.
You smiled sweetly and sat down on the leather booth bench. It was comfortable, but definitely a little squished. You were practically hanging off the edge.
“Can you scoot over a bit?” You asked him, glancing down at your thigh spilling over the side of the bench.
“Not really.” He sighed back, but he leaned a bit closer to you and lowered his voice. “Get as close to me as you can, peach.”
“I can’t get any closer.” You whispered back, a little bit frustrated with the arrangment.
Harry glanced towards Austin and your group of friends, who were not paying you any mind. He swatted the long, thick table cloth that was draped over the table and did something you didn’t expect. Your eyes went wide as he grabbed your thigh and hoisted your leg over his. He pulled the table cloth back, which perfectly disguised your leg. It gave you more room on the booth, which you were grateful for.
“That better?” He asked with a smirk.
“A little.”
Harry’s name got called, so you were now put on the back burner as he turned his head to answer. You scoped out your surroundings while you had the chance. Stephanie had sat in the chair left open at the other end of the table. There was an empty space in front of you but the chair was missing, which was nice because you didn’t like people watching you as you ate. The person in front of Harry wouldn’t be paying you any attention either. Jessie was a good friend of yours, but she was fairly new to the group. She was dating one of the guys and this was her first time at a big outing. Her eyes seemed to be fixed on the other end of the table. Of course, your brother was next to Harry and he posed the biggest threat.
You huffed to yourself as your eyes fell to the utensils rolled up in a napkin in front of you. A month ago, you wouldn’t have thought twice about who you were sitting in front of or who was by Harry. Things have changed, despite how many times Harry’s said nothing would.. It was different. You weren't going to show some crazy public affection or anything, definitely not kiss him in front of your friends, but you were becoming paranoid of someone watching. What if they caught on to the way Harry looks at you now or how close you desire to be to him? What if they notice any little thing that’s out of place?
You opted to distract yourself as Harry was still lost in conversation. You pulled your phone from your purse and decided to read the text Harry had sent that you missed while coming into the restaurant.
From Harry: are you close yet? I got you a seat next to me.. cant wait to see you been too long
You smiled at his sweet words and the gesture of saving you a seat, that was always something he did for you and you greatly appreciated it. While you enjoyed everyone’s company, you preferred to be next to him or at least across from him. Texting seemed to be a good idea, it would be more incognito and secretive for you both. You started to type a message to him, hoping he would hear his phone ding or feel it vibrate in his pocket.
To Harry: thank you for saving me a seat xx
To your surprise, he felt his phone vibrate under his leg. He picked it up and read the message on the screen, a smile shaping to his lips. You were typing another one, so you didn’t get to catch his smile.
To Harry: by the way.. my leg is starting to hurt.. can’t sit like this :/
His brows furrowed as he read the second message. He tried to think of something, but he couldn’t come up with anything. Nothing made sense and frankly there was nothing he could do it to fix the situation.
From Harry: I’m sorry peach.. i should’ve got us chairs
From Harry: you look beautiful.. is this a new dress
You giggled a little at his words just as your leg fell from his. He hated that you couldn’t be comfortable, but at least you were next to him and not across the table. Now that everyone was here, the waiter returned to the table to start drink orders. You weren’t going to stop texting Harry, though.
To Harry: It’s okay I’ll be fine.. and yes, i got this last weekend. Does it look okay?
Harry nudged you with his elbow to get your attention. You lifted your head and realized the waiter was there to get you drink order. Harry got a beer, which you thought was nasty, but you just asked for a water. Once the guy walked off, you looked back down to your screen.
From Harry: the dress looks perfect on you. Now, talk to me in person for a bit.. please
You took a deep breath, but figured you could do as he asked. You sat your phone down on the table and turned your head towards him. He was looking your way, of course, and gave you a smile.
“Are you going to the thing after we eat?” You asked curiously.
He shrugged. “I dunno. Are you going?”
You licked your lips and let your eyes fall down to his shoulder. “I.. was gonna see if you wanted to.. just go home or something.”
His lips shaped to a smile. “We can do that. My place or yours?”
You thought for a moment about how much you liked being at his place, but then you remembered a key thing made everything a little easier. “We can go to mine. No roommate for the weekend.”
“We gon’ throw a rager?”
You rolled your eyes and nudged his side with your elbow. “Shut up.”
Just as he was about to say something, someone called his name again. He gave you a frown before turning his head towards the other end of the table. Even though you didn’t discuss with him the importance of flying under the radar, he seemed to be on the same page as you. The less he seems invested in you, the less likely they’d be to say something or notice something. A con of that? Well, you weren’t getting much of his attention..
You picked up one of the menus and began to read over it, trying to determine what you wanted. You never liked to pig out in front of Harry, whether was at a restaurant or in your own home. It just seemed unappealing to you. But you were starving, and you loved the food here.
“Hey, Harry.” You said at a volume he’d be able to hear over everyone else.
His head turned towards you. “Yeah?”
“What are you getting?”
He leaned into you so he could peek at the menu. “Probably a pizza. What about you?”
You gulped gently, a lie was sitting on your tongue ready to be told. “Um, I dunno. M’not really hungry.. for like a whole plate.”
“I’ll get a large pizza.. you can eat with me, if you want.”
You thought for a moment, but then pursed your lips. “You get mushrooms.. I don’t like mushrooms.”
He chuckled, then moved his hand underneath the table cloth. You were beginning to get a little anxious, but when his heavy hand sat down on your thigh, you let out a sigh of relief. He didn’t realize how much he helped you, but you sure did appreciate it.
“I won’t get any mushrooms.. we can order it how you like it.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I’ll buy it, you order it how you want.”
You let out a huff. “We can split it.”
“I will buy it.” He said with a shrug, knowing that he would win if a disagreement came about anyway.
You didn’t feel like arguing with him over this, even if it did mean his attention would be fixed on you. You decided to let it go and just decide what kind of pizza you wanted to get. You knew the things Harry liked, which is all the things you liked - the issue was always you being picky with the things he liked.
“Can you-“ You stopped your sentence when you looked his way and realized he was talking to one of your friends again.
Don’t be needy, don’t be clingy. You had to remind yourself of that over and over in your head. Don’t make it obvious, don’t draw any attention to yourself. You swallowed harshly and let your eyes fall to your lap. Harry had moved his hand by now, which was upsetting you.
The light purple fabric of your dress caught your attention. When you bought the dress, you thought maybe the tiny flowers all over it made you seem childish. But it was so pretty and the shade of purple was so gentle and light, you adored it. Part of you wondered which aspect of the dress was Harry’s favorite. Did he like the flowers or was he more a fan of the color? You wanted to ask him, you usually do ask him things like that, but he was distracted.. You were unsure of how long you sat there in your own personal silence, ignoring the world around you.
You weren’t really paying attention to the conversation but when Harry spoke, you immediately began to listen to what he said.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to. I’ve got a shit ton of work to do tonight.”
“Oh, c’mon, just a couple hours, couple drinks.” Your brother was encouraging him to go to a bar with them after dinner to further celebrate.
“I would if I had time, but I just can’t this weekend.”
You knew that was a lie. Harry was going to follow you when the dinner was over, whether you wanted to go home or go get ice cream or for a drive - whatever it was, he was with you. Now, telling everyone else that would be a little suspicious. They knew you spent extra time together, you were super close to each other. But, that didn’t really mean they never once thought something was going on. The goal was to keep things as a wonder and not as a suspicion.
Before you had the chance to talk to Harry about what you wanted to eat, the waiter returned and began taking orders. He started at the other end of the table, so you had time to tell Harry. But the issue was, he was talking to your brother again.
“Harry.” You mumbled quietly, hoping he’d hear you since the noise level had gone down. He didn’t.
You tried again, a bit louder. “Harry.”
He was still fixated on whatever he was saying to Austin. You huffed and finally said it at a normal level.
“Harry.”
“Yeah?” He finally answered, his eyes meeting yours with a little bit of worry. You sounded a little nervous when you spoke.
“Can you order it?” You nodded towards the waiter, not sure if Harry had even noticed him return.
“What do you want on it, love?” His brows furrowed slightly as he waited for your answer.
“Pepperoni.. and extra cheese.” You mumbled back, a little hesitant to say anything.
He smiled. “Should’ve known that, hm? Your favorite.”
“Are you.. going to order it?” You were fumbling with your fingers in your lap as you tried to stay calm and patient.
“Yeah, peach. I know you don’t like ordering.”
You rolled your eyes and let your head lower. You felt a wave of heat rolling over your cheeks as the waiter made it to your end of the table and Harry told him what you wanted. It wasn’t a problem that he ordered for you, but it felt embarassing. You usually ate out with him alone, not with other people, so it was such a normal thing for him to order for you. It felt odd to ask him, especially since your brother was so close. If you were being with honest with yourself, your anxiety was unusually through the roof tonight. Normally, you weren’t this worried.
After the waiter double checked everyone’s order and walked away from the table, the conversations picked back up and Harry, once again, turned his attention away from you. It made your heart sink. It felt like you didn’t even exist. You were usually upbeat and quick to make a joke or start a conversation. But tonight was different. You didn't want to be with your friends, you wanted to be with Harry. And that desire was much stronger than anything else you ever experienced. You wanted him all to yourself, and this night felt like torture.
As Harry’s deep laugh rumbled next to you, you were starting to get jealous more than you had been already.. You didn’t want him to laugh at anyone else’s words, you didn’t want him to respond to anyone else’s questions, you didn’t want his eyes on anyone else’s as he talked or listened to someone, you didn’t want him focusing on anything or anyone but you..
Without thinking twice, you clutched your purse and stood up from the booth. You swiftly walked away without catching anyone’s eye, or so you thought. You weaved your way through the restaurant, dodging waiters and people walking to their seats as you tried to get to the restroom area quickly. Thankfully, you were familiar with this restaurant and kenw exactly where to go. It was on the other side of the building, which meant you had to pass by a lot of people - most of whom never paid you a glance. It was nerve wracking and made your heart flutter. You wanted to disappear.
It felt like a century had passed by the time you reached the door to the restroom. You were thankful it was just one toilet and no stalls. The last thing you wanted was to be surrounded by people. You turned the lock and sat your purse on the counter. Of course, you weren’t really that surprised when you looked down at your phone screen to check the time - hoping this dinner party would end quickly - and saw a text from Harry.
You didn’t know, but the moment you jumped up, everyone noticed and began to ask about you. Your brother said he knew you weren’t feeling well earlier in the week, so that could be what was wrong. Harry mentioned, even though it was a lie, that you said you were feeling off. He didn’t want anyone to question it too much. They did talk about how quiet you had been, but Harry assured them that you were okay with them not making a big deal out of it.
From Harry: is everything okay peach? Ran off without saying anything..
You huffed at his message, only because it seemed so obvious to you but not to him. Does he not realize how much he had ignored you this whole time? Maybe he didn’t care, maybe you were just being a cry baby about it and it was all stupid. Harry doens’t belong to you, he isn’t yours.. He has no obligation to speak to you.. You began to overthink and worry about everything now.
To Harry: just going to the restroom..
Of course, Harry was not stupid and he knew you entirely too well. If you just wanted to use the restroom, you would have told him or excused yourself. You practically ran from the table like someone was chasing you.
From Harry: :/ are you okay?
To Harry: if i said no would you believe me…
From Harry: what’s the matter lovey? Are you uncomfortable on the bench? I can find you a chair
To Harry: no.. I’m fine
From Harry: clearly you're not fine.. please tell me what’s wrong.
His message made your eyes start to water. You waved your hand in front of them quickly, trying to prevent any tears from actually forming or spilling from your eyes. You couldn’t cry right now. This wasn’t the place for a breakdown. Despite not wanting to get emotional, you knew you had to be honest to him. These past few weeks have proven to you that if you’re honest with him, then he’d understand and things would go much better. Like with the kissing, you were honest about what you wanted and he agreed - even though it might have been hard to understand for you both.
To Harry: i miss you. That’s what’s wrong.
From Harry: darling I’ve been right beside you this whole time..
You felt like screaming now. Crying didn’t seem to be a good enough option. Why wasn’t he understanding you? It had been days since you last seen him, and you wanted nothing more than to just talk to him and have his attention for a while. Sure, you were going to have him all to yourself after dinner, but that meant waiting for a long time.. You just needed him..
To Harry: that’s not what i mean.
When Harry didn’t respond right away like he had consistently been doing the whole time, you started to feel your stomach churn. What if you upset him by being so annoying? You pressed your back against the door and closed your eyes tight. The last thing you needed to do was start to cry and ruin your makeup. Having smudged mascara and red eyes would definitely show that you were upset. You took a few deep breathes, pushing them out slowly.
Thoughts of being a brat were starting to circle your mind. Austin always likes to say that you nag on and on until you get your way with your parents and it’s annoying. Maybe you’re doing that same exact thing with Harry and he’s had enough? The options seemed to be endless at this point.
There were a few knocks on the door all of a sudden, which made you jump. You realized you weren’t locked away in your bedroom but in a public space. You grabbed your purse from the counter and quickly turned the lock, pulling the door open.
“Sorry-“ You paused as you looked up and seen a familiar face - not a stranger waiting for the bathroom.
“Hey.” Harry’s voice made your stomach erupt with butterflies. “Can we talk?”
“I don’t wanna.” You muttered out, tearing your eyes from his so you would be less tempted to cry.
Harry gently grabbed your waist on either side and guided you back into the bathroom. You didn’t protest, only because you were scared of crying and ruining everything for yourself. He let you go once you were back in the bathroom, and he turned the lock before facing you again.
“Tell me what’s going on.” He said in a calm, smooth voice.
You shook your head, but opted to grab onto his waist. You twisted your fingers in his shirt and pulled yourself against his chest. You needed to be close to him more than anything right now.
He licked his lips and embraced you with both arms, hugging you tight like he hadn’t seen you in years - and it felt that way. “I miss you, too, peach. A whole bunch.”
Your lip was quivering, but you were trying so hard to control it. “M’sorry.”
“Hey, hey, why are you saying sorry?” He asked with a sigh.
“Cause.. I’m a big cry baby.”
He gave you a gentle chuckle and pulled back so he could see your face. Of course, you were trying to avoid him. He softly touched your chin with his knuckle and tilted your head back. There was a sad look on your face - a pout on your lips and a sadness in your eyes - that didn’t sit right with him.
“You’re not a cry baby.” He assured you with a quick peck to your forehead. “Now, tell me.. what’s going on?”
This was your chance to actually speak to him for more than a minute at a time, so you wanted to just let it all out. Taking advtange of this moment might make things worse, or it could be extremely helpful. Either way, you were about to find out.
“I hate being with everyone.” Your fist relaxed on his side so that your hand could shape against his body. He was glad to feel your warmth through his shirt now. “I just wanna talk to you and.. and get to see you but.. everyone always wants to talk to you and.. and it’s not fair.”
He lifted his brows a little. “There’s no need to be jealous, honeybun. Y’know that you’re my favorite person, yeah? We can talk all night if you want.”
You shook your head. “You keep.. keep ignoring me and talking to everyone else.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I was ignoring you.”
“I was talking.. and they interrupted me.” You whined back, trying to get your point to be evident to him.
“I’m sorry. I.. I guess I’m just used to.. how we used to be.”
That choice of words made your heart stop and your eyes widen. You feared this would come up. Your decision to ask him to kiss you had really ruined everything.
“I.. I’m sorry. I.. I shouldn’t have ever.. did anything with you. Now we can’t even.. have fucking dinner-“
“Hey, shh, don’t say that, darling. That’s not what I meant.”
You let his body go and stepped back. “You don’t have to say it, Harry. We can’t even.. sit at a damn restaurant anymore. Things are too different.”
Harry was not on the same page as you, and he had to get that across to you somehow without overwhelming you. He stayed where he was though, in attempt to not make things worse.
“Listen to me, sweetheart.” He said with a slightly stern voice, trying to get your attention.
You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest. “I want to leave. I have to go home.”
“No, you’re not leaving right now.” He threw that staying in his spot idea out the window and closed the space you shared.
His big, heavy hands grabbed either side of your waist and he pulled you closer. Your head naturally leaned back to look at him, even though you didn’t want to.
“What I meant was.. this is the first time we’ve been with everyone since.. the kissing and all that.. We’ve always been a lot different in private, yeah? Before everything happened. We’ve always been touchy, haven't we?”
He was waiting for you to reply, and when you nodded to him, he took that as you staying on track with what he was saying.
“I’ve always tried to tone things down in front of people.. just so they don’t bug us about it.” He said with a slight frown, which made you feel upset - you wanted to comfort him just as much as he wanted to comfort you. “And m’just trying to do that now.. If you wanted to go out there and make out in front of everyone then I’d gladly do that, but I know you don’t.. and that’s okay. We don’t have to. I’m.. just trying to keep everything the same for their eyes.”
You soaked in his words and stayed quiet for a few moments, not sure if he was finished or not. He lifted one hand up to your jaw and carefully cradled your head in his palm. You wanted to cry, but you hated it when you did that in front of him. You had to be strong and understand what was happening right now, instead of overreacting and losing your control.
“I get that.. I do.. and thank you for.. for trying but.. it still sucks that you’re not.. paying attention to me.”
Harry’s heart was breaking for you. He could tell you wanted to burst into tears, and it was obvious you were bothered by all of this. He took a deep breath and leaned down to your face. He pressed a soft kiss to your lips, which were still in a pout and swollen from how hard you had been biting them since you arrived at the restaurant.
“I didn’t know that you wanted me to do that much. I’m sorry, I should’ve asked.” His voice was in a whisper as he spoke against your cheek.
“Just.. at least just talk to me.. like in a normal way. I don’t like.. being ignored.” You said quietly, still surprised that you hadn’t began to cry yet.
He smiled, then tilted your head back. “I will. I’m really sorry, okay? I’ll make it up to you later.”
You finally let out a little laugh, and it gave him some relief. He really thought he had messed up big time. He figured you were on the same page as him when the night started, but he realized things had really changed.. It wasn’t just cuddling and staying the night with each other that you were having to cover up or try to downplay anymore.. it was much more than that.
“How?”
He chuckled, glad to see the sparkle had returned to your eyes. “However you want, peach.”
You brought your hand up to his wrist and coiled it around him, thinking about how you held onto it the night he was touching you. He licked his lips again, his tongue was enticing you but making out in a bathroom wasn’t on your bucket list as of now..
“I.. I think I have an idea.”
Harry’s lips shaped to a smirk. “I’m sure you do.”
To avoid any suspicion, Harry returned to the table before you did. Stephanie had texted you, asking if you were okay, and you told her you were just feeling a little uneasy. Nobody questioned it once you returned to the table and sat down beside Harry, who was glad you were finally back next to him.
A conversation was going on between everyone, except for you because you chose to occupy yourself with your phone. You were mindlessly scrolling just to avoid having to talk to anyone. Despite lying about feeling sick, you actually didn’t feel completely okay. You weren't physically sick, but you were tired and just ready to leave.
After a few minutes of talking, Harry decided to withdraw himself from the conversation and turn his attention towards you. It was a bit easier now since you had admitted to not feeling well to everyone else. They would just assume he’s checking on you, and pay you little to no attention at all.
“What are our plans for after dinner?” Harry kept his voice down low as he gently hit his hand against your thigh.
“I dunno.” You shrugged. “I kinda just want to go home.”
He frowned slightly. “No ice cream? No movie? Nothing?”
You thought for a moment, then sighed. “A movie would be nice but I don’t know what’s playing.”
“What about a walk at the park? The sky’s clear.. we could look at the stars.” Even though you enjoyed doing that, you weren’t thrilled by it tonight.
“I.. I just wanna go home, Harry.. I wanna.. be somewhere.. private.” You muttered the word as quietly has you could manage.
“Alright, whatever you want to do, peach.”
You sighed softly. “Do you still wanna come over?”
He smiled. “Of course.”
Of course that made your heart flutter. You glanced down at your hands as they laid perfectly on your lap. “Can you stay the weekend?”
“Yeah, I can.”
You noticed he was leaning on you a bit, but it wasn’t an issue. You quite liked being close to him, and right now you couldn’t care less about what anyone else thought or might be assuming. You just wanted to be with him.
“Okay. We can plan something to do tomorrow night.”
He smiled, a few things popped into his mind but he figured he’d save them for a later conversation. “Sounds good.”
Austin hit Harry on the arm to get his attention. He gave you a quick sigh before shifting his attention from you. It was disappointing, but you knew it had to happen. Things were already hard to navigate in front of other people, you didn’t need to make it any worse by getting so worked up again and risk blowing your cover.
You knew that Harry would never tell anyone about what he did to you the other night, or about the kissing, but something in side of you just kept screaming about it. It was a fear that you never imagined you’d have. Just as you were about to take your phone out to distract yourself, Harry’s hand moved under the table and onto your lap. He had it laying palm up, allowing you to take it and do whatever you wanted.
A smile grew on your lips as you looked down at his fingers. They were relaxed against your palm as you cradled his big hand in yours. You thought about the feelings those fingers gave you that night - thought about how good it felt to feel them rub against you. For once the entire time, you felt that burst of energy he always created - you felt special.

THERAPY SESSIONS•••
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
bau!team x psychiatrist!reader ↳ part 2 here
Synopsis: you have been a longtime psychiatrist for the BAU team. Always there to listen to their troubles. But what if you mysteriously disappear? WARNING: use of y/n and l/n. curse(s?). mentions of trauma (kind of) A/N: nothing sweets, enjoy!
Tumblr media
Monday, 11:04 AM
"Have you heard from Dr. L/N? I wanted to schedule my next appointment but can't reach her cell." Spencer, being your frequent visitor, asked his teammates as he stared at his flip phone in deep thought. Maybe the problem was his phone?
Emily turned her seat, legs crossed and arms flat on the armrests of her chair. "I actually wanted to schedule one yesterday. I couldn't reach her cell either." She shrugged, leaning backward.
Derek rolled his eyes, "Maybe she's on a date? Let the woman have a life." He was your newest patient, though you have been listening to his troubles for 2 years.
You have been the BAU team's psychiatrist for the past six years, or more, you couldn't remember. All you could remember was how they slowly piled, one by one, into your office and shared their deepest sorrows in the safety of your listening ear.
It started when Spencer needed someone to rant to. He arrived at your clinic, soaking wet from the rain and clutching your business card in his hand. You were about to leave for the day, but you didn't mind the extra hours you had to spend.
Then came JJ, who brought up her concerns for Spencer but was completely anxious over different things. She was the sweetest woman alive that you have ever met. And it sometimes pained you to know that she had to endure adversities.
The others crammed right in like children asking for a little bit of company in the dark, and you were more than happy to provide them with a cozy sofa and a listening ear.
Spencer and Emily let go of the topic. Derek was right. They had to let you have a life outside of work, outside of listening to their cries. They bothered you with the shallowest inconvenience 24/7, and it didn't sit right to deprive you of having time off.
With that said, nonetheless, you have been part of their family. Even if you weren't a profiler, they welcomed you to one of Rossi's dinner parties just the same.
Emily loved to joke that you were their sweet, softhearted mommy, while Aaron Hotchner was their strict dad. You always laughed at that.
Tuesday, 4:32 PM
Penelope was maniacally tapping on her keys as she searched for information that the group asked her to look for. They flew out this morning, almost teleporting to Los Angeles for a fast-escalating serial killer.
A ringing echoed in her background, waiting for the recipient to pick up the call. The number was yours.
"[You've reached Dr. L/N's line. Please don't leave a message at all. Text me directly instead at 571...]"
She sat up, rolling her chair across her room to reach her telephone, and dropped the call. "No! Y/N! I need you to answer me so you can listen to my dilemma!" Penelope whined and speed-dialed your number once again.
You may be the BAU's psychiatrist for six years, but you have been Penelope's psychiatrist for eight years. You were there when she broke down about the horrors of their recent cases when she got shot and many more events in her life that she couldn't help but rant about to you. You were her friend, and you felt honored to become one.
Wednesday, 10:57 PM
"Something's wrong," Spencer announced, sitting on the swivel chair with his legs crisscrossed.
Hotch immediately lifted his gaze from the file he had in his hands, glancing at Spencer. "What did you find?"
What the Unit Chief didn't know was that his youngest profiler had been staring into space for a good 30 minutes. Spencer fidgeted on the hem of his slacks. "Dr. L/N has never been MIA for more than a day." He replied, unaware of his conversation with his leader.
"Reid. I need your focus on this mission and not Dr. L/N's?" Hotch diverted, bringing his attention back to the file in his hands.
Thursday, 7:00 AM
Spencer's statement didn't leave the back of Hotch's mind, sending you a text as soon as his alarm went off. He couldn't get a blink of sleep.
As much as he tried to think about the case, worry for a compassionate friend began to creep into his veins.
Hey, if you don't mind. Would you happen to have time for me to visit on Saturday afternoon?
He tapped the sides of his phone, staring at the screen. With a small sigh, Hotch exited the bed and got ready for work.
Within the ten minutes he spent showering, Hotch glanced at the screen with furrowed brows in the absence of your reply.
It wasn't like you were obligated to respond to him at that time of the day, but he had known you enough years to know that you were wide awake at the strike of 7 AM.
Hotch remembered clearly how the two of you coincidentally met at the park where he usually goes for a run. He learned then that you never fail to wake up at 5 AM in the morning, emptying your mind to make space for people's troubles that you gladly eased.
He dialed a phone number, "Hello, Garcia?"
Friday, 1:29 PM
The team arrived back to Quantico, wiped out and drained from the case, unenthusiastic about the fact that they had to stay for a few hours and complete some paperwork before they could finally go home.
"Did L/N change her number?" JJ walked in the bullpen, waving her phone to the others. She placed a hand on her hip as she navigated through her phone, preparing to edit your contact information.
Not to create competition, but JJ had it worst in their past case. The anxiety that coursed through her bloodstream needed the comfort of your soft voice. She would discuss it with her husband, Will, but you always understood better. She loved the way you explained her emotions to her, giving her a clearer vision of what she was feeling. It made it easier for her to express her feelings when she came home to Will.
Spencer perked up, "I don't think so. She's very consistent with everything. She would've told us if she changed her number." He sat on his seat with his legs crisscrossed.
Derek didn't waste a minute and dialed your clinic's main landline. They should've been calling there to set an appointment anyway, but they were too attached to you to even bother. In their eyes, you were the whole clinic; no other psychiatrist was available.
"[Hi, you are calling from...]" Multiple sighs of relief escaped from the four of them when they finally got someone to pick up the call. "[This is Alexa. What can I help you with today?]"
"I wanted to set an appointment with Dr. L/N, does she have any open spots for this weekend?" Derek asked, making eye contact with the three agents with him, assuring them that everything was alright.
Until it wasn't.
"[I'm sorry, Sir. Dr. L/N is not available right now, but—]"
"Is she on vacation?" Emily interjected, moving to the edge of her seat.
"[Uh, who am I speaking to?]"
They all exchanged looks. JJ leaned against Derek's desk, clearing her throat. "This is Jennifer Jareau from the FBI. I'm a friend of Dr. Y/N L/N and haven't been able to contact her in a while. I just wanted to ask if, by chance, you have other means of contacting her?"
A long pause. Worry began to creep over their minds. They could hear murmurs and movements, and after three minutes of waiting, someone picked the phone back up.
"[Good afternoon. My name is Dr. Basset, and I'm the head psychiatrist in the clinic. Unfortunately, we haven't heard of Dr. L/N since last Saturday. She hasn't been showing up for her shift either. We were getting worried because she wasn't answering her personal cell and home landline. One of our staff knew where she lived, but her apartment was quiet. They said no one answered the door.]"
Well shit.
That wasn't normal for you to just disappear. You always notified the whole team three months before you would go on vacation or requested leave. So, you being unavailable with your means of communication spiked up their worry through the roof.
They nodded to each other, making a wordless agreement that whatever was happening, it was clear that it was not something they should take lightly.
"Okay, Dr. Basset. Is there a chance you can provide us with any other information about Y/N? Her emergency contact, parents' names, anything would help us." JJ swallowed the lump in her throat. Where could you be?
"[Of course! Let me just go get it.]" Dr. Basset said, shuffling on his end.
Rossi walked out of his room with the intention of filling up his cup with another dose of coffee, but the expressions that the four agents had on their faces didn't pass his peripheral. "What happened? Did you all lose a bet with Garcia?"
Spencer turned his seat, "Dr. L/N is missing." He announced.
"Missing? Did someone report her missing?" Rossi knitted his brows. He wasn't frequent in your office, but he did have a monthly visit.
"She hasn't been to work for a week or answering any of our calls," Emily stated, biting the nail on her thumb.
"Call Hotch," Rossi told Emily, who didn't waste time nodding and went straight to Hotch's office. He looked at the others. "I know everyone is tired from the case, but this one is very important."
Derek stood up, leather jacket wrapping his lean build. "You don't have to tell us twice." He glanced at Spencer, who was already standing, clutching his messenger bag. Then, to JJ, who nodded her chin of approval.
Emily was about to knock on Hotch's door when it swung open, a file in his hand. "We have a case." He announced.
"But-" Emily attempted to intervene, but he continued speaking.
"We need to find our psychiatrist, Dr. Y/N L/N. Penelope's on her way to debrief us. Gather in the conference room in five minutes."

Better than me - Charles Leclerc x Reader P10
Plot: You are a rookie in your first f1 season, adding to the ever-growing amount of Brits performing in the grid
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As things went, the dinner Charles promised to take you out on went really well. You guys spent the whole night out talking in a small local restaurant in Saint-Tropez that he’d privately rented for the night before walking along the harbour wall.
The conversation never actually stopped, and despite knowing of Charles for a while and having met him a few times before you got into F1 yourself you guys found out more about each other in those 4 hours at dinner than you’d known about any of the drivers in the time you’d been driving with some of them.
“Come on then, tell me something you’ve never told anyone else” he asks and you think for a second.
“When I was younger, in karting and moving up into F4, I nearly said yes to two teams wanting to take me on because I thought the other was a dream” you chuckle amused at the memory.
“No way! That would have been funny, I remember actually seeing you in the awards ceremony I must have been in F2 at that point” he sighs thinking back to when there wasn’t as much pressure on him and he had a lot more freedom.
“Tell me about your family, I bet you love having them at race weekends” you asked after taking a bite of the delicious food that was on your plate.
“Well, there’s Arthur, obviously you know him coz you’ve raced with him. Then there’s my older brother Lorenzo but we all just call him Enzo and of course my maman” he smiles and you think for a second looking up at the ceiling.
“Nicknames are bizarre right? Like you shortener that to Enzo, but why did nobody start calling him Lore?” The random questions spills from your mouth easily.
“I’ve never thought about that” he laughs.
Your connection was undeniable and you guys just fit together. It was so sweet, nothing could ruin this moment apart from one conversation.
Which of course had to be had.
“So where do we go from here?” Charles had asked you.
“What do you mean?” You ask with a slight tilt of you head in confusion.
“You know we can’t be together right? The media would tear us to shreds” he offers and you look down sadly.
Tonight showed you what a life with Charles alongside you could be like, his attentive side and how his words made you feel like the only girl in the world.
“We don’t have to tell anyone it could be just between the two of us” you smile.
“We’re in different teams … it would never work” he reasons and your eyes are starting to glass over in frustration.
“Then why bring me here!” You raise your voice.
“W-what do you mean, you asked me to bring you here?” He says looking over your disgruntled facial expression.
“No, no I didn’t! Don’t try spin this. I said you had to take me out to dinner, that didn’t mean, taking me out and renting out a whole intimate restaurant before taking me on a walk through the south of France. That’s mean” you say stepping back as he tries to reach out for you.
“I didn’t mean for you to get upset” he says, there were undertones of him genuinely feeling a little bad, but it was more blunt than usual. Like he didn’t really care how you felt but he was obliged to.
“Charles why do you keep doing this to me, I thought we just got past the rough patch!” You say, remembering everything he had put you through since the start of the season.
You thought maybe today was the day you were building a bridge with him that would be better for both of you in the future.
“Y/N im sorry but please let’s not let this stop us being … friends” Charles interjects stepping closer to you so he’s practically against you.
“I’m too embarrassed to do this right now Charles. I’m going home” you say crossing your arms wrapping the cardigan you were wearing tighter around you.
“Y/N no please don’t we can…” he starts but your ready to interrupt him.
“There’s nothing you can say right now. I’ll see you at the next race” you say before walking through the streets of Saint-Tropez on your own. You manage to get back to the hotel you’d originally had and begged the receptionist for your old room.
The next races went by and you didn’t attend any of them. However this time you did keep in contact with the select few people you knew had your back. You didn’t tell them why you weren’t coming to anymore races, just that you needed more time to heal.
Not exactly a lie.
You spent your time with your personal trainer getting your muscles and bones to slowly recover from the race. You really were having a speedy recovery and Silverstone was looking like a definite for you to be back in the car now which made everyone happy.
You traveled back and forth between, Monaco, Germany and the UK while you weren’t at the races, getting data from Audi and how the car been performing with a different driver now that your out for the last few races. And spending time with your family, in the UK.
By the time Silverstone came around you were deemed ready to be back in the car.
On the Thursday you walked through the car park, fans lining up either side screaming for you. You walked over to where they were fenced off and started signing as much as you could.
“Y/N are you all better now?”
“Y/N are you excited to drive again”
“Y/N are you scared to drive after your crash?”
“Y/N do you feel like you might be a bit rusty today?”
Floods of questions came your way, but with a smile on your face you answered whatever was thrown your way. You stayed there for around 20 minutes before crowds became too big and security politely asked you to move on and into the paddock.
You scanned in, loads off people coming up to you for pictures who had VIP and Paddock passes. You stayed walking with your PR manager who’d met you at the entrance.
“How are you feeling about the weekend?” They ask you and you turn your head in a cocked manner.
“Fine?” You admit.
“Okay, great! Well you are on the Drivers Press conference with Liam, Lando, Carlos and Pierre. Please try and keep up team moral yeah? We don’t want any undue attention” she admit, knowing Audi haven’t had the best time in public relations recently thanks to the crash and the scandal before that.
The rumours around your crash were kind of insane. Some people were saying you did it on purpose to prove a point, some people think your team were sabotaging you. Some people thought the grid were out to get you, some even went as far as to think you’d faked your drug test and were doping.
“I know, racing only. How excited I am for this weekend” you nod towards her as you guys get to the motorhome of Audi.
“Well I need to brief the team, but I’ll be sure to come grab you before the press conference” she smiles running of with her clipboard pressed tightly to her chest.
“Oh my gosh! Y/N! Alex and I have been waiting on you forever” Lily exclaims as she sees you step through the glass doors.
She grabs you into a tight squeeze that you immediately sink into. If Alex wasn’t careful you’d steal Lily from him in a heartbeat, she gave the best hugs.
“Hey, how are you guys! It feels good to actually be back here with you guys knowing I’ll be driving tomorrow” you smile softly.
“Yeah i can imagine it’s been far too long” Alex says rubbing your shoulder before offering you to take a seat with them in the booth they’d currently reserved.
“How are you feeling about the race, you definitely feel like your ready to get back in the car?” Lily fusses, like always.
“Yeah, i mean the physio said I was good to go”
“Okay, but are YOU good to go?” She pushes and you can’t help but think for a little. Physically you’d been cleared but with everything that’s happened your mind, we’re your reflexes going to be up to standard, would you be too emotional in the car and not think straight?
We’re you ready?

Addams Family Steddie Part 4
Part One | Part Two | Part Three
As always, if you see a typo, no you didn't. Enjoy reading!
After nearly a year of knowing Eddie, Steve would say he's got his fiance-to-be's personality down pat. He has a general idea of how Eddie will react to things, what he prefers for a midnight snack (chocolate-covered wasp wings), and the music he likes listening to when they're making out (KISS, but he'll put on Fall Out Boy if Steve bats his eyes just right).
He also knows Eddie is not the most patient man in the world; he's rather impulsive, in fact. He'll get an idea and run with it, not pausing to consider the potential consequences, especially if he thinks it'll make Steve smile. He's even jumped head-first into a ball pit after Dustin and Steve, despite how off-putting he found the colors, just to make Steve laugh.
Clearly, Steve knows Eddie. Very well.
So, he's having a hard time understanding why Eddie hasn't proposed yet. It's been three months since they became engaged-to-be-engaged. Not to the minute, but to the day. Steve had expected Eddie to climb through his window at exactly 12:01 AM to propose. He had even laid a carefully planned trap (it involved a net, exactly three knives, Hulyet, and impressive knotwork) if only because he knew Eddie would find that romantic and would love to propose while hanging from the ceiling.
Steve had even been thinking up snappy one-liners for when he turned on the lights to see Eddie trapped. He could say, "Finders keepers, which means you're mine," or maybe, "I guess I should find a good taxidermist now. Do you think El knows of one?" or even, "I can't wait to tell Dustin I caught breakfast." The first one is probably a bust when he really thinks about it, but those other two could work.
So, Steve isn't expecting to sleep through the night, only waking up because the sun is shining through his window. He even lays in bed for an hour, scrolling through social media on his phone in case Eddie is running behind. He wasn't, and the only thing saving Eddie from getting utterly maimed and tortured (not the fun kind) is that he sent a good morning text.
That good morning text doesn't answer any of Steve's questions, though, and he spends another hour carefully cleaning the trap he'd carefully placed. At least Hulyet is reassuringly predictable, resting on his shoulder and nuzzling his neck as he cleans.
An entire day passes without Steve even seeing Eddie's shadow. He literally watches the sun set below the horizon after dinner, his disappointment morphing into annoyance and frustration that he takes out on the dishes he's scrubbing. He's annoyed with Eddie for not even swinging by when he usually can't stay away, but he's also frustrated with himself for his annoyance and for the tiny voice in the back of his brain wondering if maybe Eddie doesn't want to be together as badly as Steve.
"Could you please stop brooding? I'm trying to balance chemical equations," Dustin says, throwing a pen at Steve's head from the kitchen island. "Besides, you're fucking murdering our plates."
Steve sighs, glancing at the pen now resting pitifully on the floor. He rinses off the plate he's holding, places it in the drying rack, and picks up the pen. "Can I ask you something?"
"You just did, but what's up?"
"Is there a non-romantic way to murder Eddie?"
Dustin is silent for a few moments before letting out a put-upon sigh. "Probably not," he says, resting his chin in his palm. "Why?"
"He was supposed to propose today."
"...It's like you lose all your brain cells when Eddie is involved. How do you know he was supposed to propose?"
"I told him to wait three months exactly three months ago," Steve explains, leaning against the counter and crossing his arms over his stomach.
"And you want him to propose? Like, you want to marry him? It's barely been a year of knowing the guy."
Steve doesn't even have to think before saying, "Yes." Because he does want to marry Eddie. He wants to feel even closer than they already are; he wants to have a wedding ring that he can show off; he wants to be able to introduce Eddie as his husband.
Well, now that he thinks about it, why does he care so much about Eddie being the one to propose? He could do it himself! Steve could go buy a fucking obsidian ring with ruby accents, passive-aggressively get down on one knee, and shove the ring onto Eddie's left ring finger. It doesn't exactly sound romantic, but Eddie lost that privilege when he didn't sneak into Steve's room at 12:01 this morning.
"If you're that desperate to get married, just kidnap him for a shotgun wedding or something and have a ceremony later. Why wait on him? It's the era of feminism, dude."
As mean as Dustin's tone is, Steve has to admit he has a point. Steve doesn't have to wait on Eddie, and he's not going to. Fuck it. He'll go propose himself. "You good on your own for a while?" Steve asks, returning his attention to Dustin.
"Yeah, I'm good. Go get hitched. Take a picture with your Elvis impersonator for me," Dustin says, waving his hand dismissively at Steve as he focuses back on his worksheet.
Steve rolls his eyes, ruffling Dustin's hair as he passes him. "I'll probably be back in a few hours," he says, waiting for Dustin to smack his hand away before heading to the front door and pulling on his sneakers.
----
Eddie's bedroom is on the second floor, and his window is on the side of the house. The first time he climbed to Eddie's window, he'd nearly impaled himself on the spikes in the flowerbeds along the house. Thankfully, Steve has discovered the ability to use both the tree by the house and the drainage pipe for the gutters to climb up.
Now, Steve can reach Eddie's window in his sleep. He pulls himself up the tree, leaning dangerously far from the trunk and using the drainage pipe to steady himself with one hand. He tugs Eddie's window with the other, getting it mostly open before launching himself through. When his waist catches on the sill, he wiggles until he falls to the floor just under the window.
Steve huffs, pushing his hair out of his eyes as he sits up and looks at the bed. Eddie is watching him with an amused smile, leaning back against the pillows with a guitar in his lap. "You're especially beautiful when you're wiggling through my window, sweetheart," he says.
"Shut up," Steve mutters, pulling himself up off the floor. He climbs onto the bed, taking Eddie's guitar and carefully setting it aside before climbing into his lap. "I'm upset."
Eddie blinks, his smile immediately replaced by a concerned frown as he places his hands on Steve's hips. "What's wrong, Stevie? Who upset you? Are we having a murder date night?" he asks.
Steve doesn't answer for a few seconds before sighing and hugging Eddie, unable to hold onto any annoyance or frustration when he's offering murder dates so sincerely. "You didn't propose today," he whispers, tugging on a lock of Eddie's hair with a frown. "It's been three months."
"Stevie, baby, sweetheart, beloved, my darkest night after a blistering day," Eddie says, his voice soft and dripping with love, and Steve snorts at the cheesy names.
"Get to the point already."
"Tomorrow is three months, sweetheart."
Steve blinks, pulling back slightly to look down at Eddie. He has a soft smile, one that's a little goofy and utterly comfortable with how much love it reveals. "Are you sure?" Steve asks.
Eddie grins and grabs his phone from the nightstand, pulls up his calendar, and shows Steve a notification that's set for exactly 12:01 AM and reads "PROPOSE TO STEVE" with several ring emojis.
"Are you sure it's right?" Steve asks, looking from the notification to Eddie.
"Stevie, do you really think I'd wait a single second longer than necessary to propose? I spent three hours making sure this was exactly three months."
Yeah, all of that is exactly what Steve had been expecting that morning. He feels relieved, actually, because Eddie is just as impatient as he is and just as unwilling to wait a second more than necessary. "Well," Steve says, drawing the word out as he takes Eddie's phone and places it on the nightstand, "I am already here."
It takes two seconds for Eddie to catch up, his eyes lighting up when he does. "Seriously?" he asks.
"I might change my mind if you take too long," Steve says, his sentence barely finished when Eddie pulls a ring box out of absolutely nowhere.
And Steve would wonder how he did that, but he's too focused on Eddie opening the box to reveal a pitch-black ring with an obsidian main stone and ruby accent stones. It looks exactly like the kind of ring Steve was ready to hunt down not an hour ago. He glances up at Eddie, unable to help an excited grin.
"So, I had a lot of different speeches prepared for this," Eddie says, carefully taking out the ring and tossing the box aside. "But now that we're here, none of it feels genuine enough. I love you so much that it literally hurts. My heart aches when you're not around, and I can't get enough air into my lungs if I can't see you. I spent this entire day preparing a dinner date and romantic gestures, and it was pure torture because I was too busy to hold your hand or kiss you. I would embrace death with you by my side, but I would truly die if we were apart. And I hope we never have to be, so please marry me, Stevie."
It takes everything in Steve to not interrupt Eddie with a kiss, but he somehow stays strong until the end. "Yes, of course, absolutely, now kiss me already," Steve says, grabbing Eddie's collar and yanking him close. He hears a surprised noise and almost apologizes when Eddie bites Steve's bottom lip and pushes a hand into his hair. Steve sighs softly, leaning fully onto Eddie and tasting the remnants of his toothpaste.
When Steve is just about to push Eddie down on the bed, he breaks the kiss and flashes a huge grin, his sharp canines in full view, and Steve has to stop himself from starting another kiss so he can drag his tongue against them. "I still have to put the ring on," Eddie says.
"Well, be quick about it. I wasn't done kissing you," Steve says, holding his left hand out and feeling inexplicably grounded when Eddie slips the ring onto his finger.

Act 4 Prologue (Matias Asbrink)
Translations may not always capture the exact nuances or tone of the original text. Expect grammatical errors and inaccuracies.
Tumblr media
At the same time, in Acroite.
Large snowflakes fluttered down like flower petals, painting the traditional stone-built streets white.
The main street, illuminated by street lamps, was bustling with crowds of people. However, there were no troublemakers here, no drunken shouts or fights like in other countries.
In this country, governed by the strictest laws on the continent, those who disturb the peace are quickly apprehended and held accountable for their crimes.
Yet amidst the orderly and well-maintained streets, there was a corner where women gathered unnaturally.
Woman 1: “Please join me at the lovely party I’m having tonight.”
Woman 2: “That’s not fair. Please also come to my party.”
Woman 3: “Where are you off to at this hour? If you’re interested, would you like to join me for dinner?”
Tumblr media
Matias: “I have work to attend to. Please excuse me.”
Slipping smoothly out of the midst of the women, with his golden hair gathering the twilight’s glow and snow-shadowed eyes tinged with melancholy, was Matias, the guardian of Acroite’s law.
Though his appearance and demeanor were stern, there was an alluring aura about him that made the women gaze at him dreamily.
Matias: “Haah.”
With a sigh, he casually brushed back his smooth blond hair, eliciting another round of cheers from the women behind him.
A colleague, a judge, then playfully tapped his back as he swiftly walked away to escape their intense stares.
Lars: “Quite the charmer, as always, huh? Matias.”
Pushing up his round glasses, the man smiled teasingly at Matias, and his expression changed to a more relaxed one.
Matias: “Lars, if you saw that, you could’ve helped me.”
Matias: “You know I struggle with women.”
Lars: "I know, but having too many admirers is honestly a problem I envy. I wish I could trade places with you."
Matias: "You wish you could trade places with me? Did you see those women? They had the eyes of warriors determined to annihilate their enemies."
Lars: "I think they were all beauties, though."
Matias: "Whether they're beautiful or not doesn't matter. The only woman I need is my soulmate."
Tumblr media
Matias: "She doesn't need to dote on me or stare at me like those women. All she needs to do is wish me luck, fix my tie, give me a kiss, and wave goodbye before I head to work."
Lars: "Yeah, yeah, I get it. I've heard about your embarrassing fantasies more than a hundred times, Matias."
Lars: "Are you alright, though?"
Matias: "I've been saying it since earlier, but I'm not okay. You have to back me up next time."
Lars: "I meant about the trial. The defendant this time is your friend, right?"
Matias: "Ah, yeah. We were roommates for a while back in the Royal Academy. We enlisted together and served in the same unit."
Lars: "You were close then."
Matias: "He was a good guy. Cheerful, smart, and quick-witted. He was good with women too, effortlessly handling situations like earlier."
Lars: "I see. Matias, about that..."
Matias' snow-shadow-colored eyes gaze straight at his colleague, looking somewhat uneasy.
Matias: "It's fine."
Matias: "I'm a man of the Asbrink family."
Tumblr media
The Royal Court, which determines the nation’s justice, was filled with a solemn atmosphere tonight.
The defendant and his defense attorney, the government officials prosecuting his crimes, and numerous citizens in the gallery all watched with bated breath as the five judges, especially the guardian of the law, sat atop the judicial platform.
Tumblr media
Matias: “I’ll now deliver the verdict on the suspicion of unauthorized leakage of classified Acroite military information.”
Matias: “Defendant, step forward.”
The defendant stepped onto the witness stand.
Though looking severely worn out, his eyes, fixed on the guardian of the law, held a faint glimmer of hope.
It was well known among some circles that the defendant had a friendship with the guardian.
As everyone sought to interpret the meaning behind the intersecting gazes, the sound of the gavel resounded.
Matias: “Death penalty.”
After delivering the merciless verdict, the courtroom fell into a brief silence before erupting into chaos.
Defendant: “Matias, are you really going to kill me!? Me, who ate, slept, and fought alongside you? We're friends, aren't we!?”
Defendant: “You can’t do this!”
While the defendant cried out in despair, Matias appeared entirely unaffected.
Matias: “That does not excuse your crime.”
Defendant: “Isn’t a death sentence too heavy for a single mistake?”
Matias: "The law is justice. If you are a citizen of Acroite, obedience is absolute."
Matias: "All you can do is comply with the verdict that has been passed down."
With a detached voice, Matias continued to gaze directly at the collapsing defendant, seemingly in despair.
Matias: "The execution will be carried out in five days, at noon."
Defendant: "M-Matias..."
As the defendant was taken away, Matias watched them with his snow-shadow-colored eyes.
To dispel the murmurs, he struck the gavel twice.
Matias: "This concludes the session."
As the people left the courtroom in silence, he stood alone.
It was unusual for him to stay in the courtroom after it had adjourned, without a clear reason.
Walking to the spot where the defendant had collapsed during the trial, he gently touched the witness stand with his fingers.
Though his snow-shadowed eyes flickered slightly, he murmured with the same emotionless voice as during the trial.
Tumblr media
Matias: "I did the right thing."
Matias: "I'm Matias, the next king of Acroite, a proud man of the esteemed Asbrink family."
Matias: "Until all evil is condemned, I cannot afford to stop."

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐒𝐈𝐃𝐄 today, it had been storming the last few days. Now you and your siblings were making the most of the sunshine. Things have been really good the past few weeks, and slowly you were finally beginning to warm up to the ocean. The past had to stay where it was, now you were gradually moving on.
Y/n remembers her dad's words then, "It's the little steps that end up making the biggest difference."
He was right, they really did.
"Neteyam", Y/n giggled as he splashed water at her whilst she sat at the edge of the platform they used to easily access jumping into the water when calling for their Ilu's. Her legs dangled over the edge, peering down at her siblings.
"Tsmuke, you are being silly! Come join us in the water!" Neteyam tried to beckon you to join him and Tuk as they played with their Ilu's.
"Yeah, come on Y/n!" Tuk whined, only to be cut off by ecstatic laughter as her Ilu nudged their head onto her back.
Y/n held her hands up then, an unfinished anklet dangling below the palm of her hand.
"I am finishing this, you skxawngs." She reminded them, wanting to give it to Tsireya once it was finished.
As Y/n began to reach out of her reserved shell, Tsireya swooped right in. She, Neteyam, and Tsireya had become a trio of sorts. She was hoping to make matching anklets for all of them.
"Alright, we're going to ride our Ilu's further out. Is that okay, tsmuke?" Neteyam called out to you, pointing further out.
You rolled your eyes at his worried tone.
You love your family, really you do. But the one downside to the confrontation you had with all of them. Well, they've been treating you like a little baby ever since then.
The doting and attention were very much appreciated at first. But it escalated to your siblings trailing after you everywhere you went, for the most part. They'd become increasingly overprotective whenever Ao'nung and his crew were in close proximity to you. The kicker? They implemented a curfew for you now. You had to be home an hour before dinner was ready, a whole hour!
Basically, your freedom and alone time had been cut in half. Stripped away from you. While you looked a lot more healthy and since perked up in the past few weeks - your family continued to remain on the edge. They just didn't anything to further happen to you, especially now that you've progressed so much.
The Sully's knew you were a strong girl, but the pieces you were starting to put back together could easily be ripped apart again. So for the time being, they'll do whatever it takes to prevent it.
Unfortunately for them, such an event was just right around the corner.
Y/n scrutinized Neteyam and in return, the eldest son wiggled his nonexistent eyebrows in a taunting manner.
"Yes, tsmukan. Now go!" You urged him to leave as Tuk waved bye to you.
Letting out a happy sigh at the silence that filled you, wow - this was really nice. She thought to herself. Just the waves rippling beneath you is what accompanies you.
Neteyam was about to dive into the water when he turned to look back and check on you. There you sat in the same position, back hunched and eyes focused as you continued to weave the unfinished anklet.
He nodded to himself then, satisfied that you were alright.
Yet the moment he turned his back and dove into the water, the infamous group you've been trying to avoid made their way into the nook where your mauri and outdoor area were.
Y/n tensed as the air shifted, hearing the sounds of multiple footsteps nearing her. A feeling of deja vu surged through her, oh no.
"Alone, at last, the great daughter of Toruk Makto!" Ao'nung jeered as their shrill laughter raked through the once peaceful aura you were just starting to settle in.
A not-so-subtle hiss escaped your lips, eyes closing in disdain. Can a girl not get any damn alone time around here?
"What's this then? Oh, an anklet!" Ao'nung had stalked over to you from behind, ripping the unfinished weaved strings out of your hand.
Defeat flooded your futures, not wanting to make anything of this. Y/n hoped they'd just say a few insulting comments and mosey on out of here.
"Who is this for, me? I love it soooo much!" Ao'nung mocked, sarcasm dripping in his tone as his friends cheered him on.
"No. It is for your sister." Y/n deadpanned, not finding the amusement they seemed to be in this predicament.
"Well, it's quite pathetic. I think you should start over if you want my sister to actually appreciate this." He teased, nimble fingers beginning to untangle the hard work you had just done.
Your ears folded back then, standing up and facing the idiots. Cracking your neck, a harsh glare was sent their way. Sticking out your open hand, palm up in front of Ao'nung.
"Just stop that and hand it back over. Then you can be on your own merry ways." You tried to appease them.
"When did you suddenly find your voice? I ought to stomp it out." Ao'nung sneered at you then, and in a blink of an eye, he had thrown your project into the ocean.
"Ao'nung!" She fumed, angry eyes scouting the water but you could no longer see it.
"Yaymak! Useless like my father had said, how do you even survive? Come on, take a dip!" He contended, bending down beside you to push you in-
A jarring snarl erupts from behind them. They all jump and swivel around, but are instantly stumped.
There stood your Sa'nok, gripping a basket full of fruit so viciously that it chipped - pieces of dried flax splintering and falling to the ground.
"Txavä’. Useless? I ought to show you how you can become useless-" She stormed over to them making most of the boys in front of you yelp in surprise and jump back again.
"Sa'nok! Do not!" You remarked, astonished at her shameless way of protecting you.
Ever since finding out about what had happened to you, she'd been so civil whenever in the clan leader and tsahik's son's presence. Now she realises how eery those actions actually were. Oh great mother, she was just doing it for your sake.
"Ma ‘itetsyìp, she is a fierce tsamsiyu. Unlike you!" She vehemently fired, pointing at Ao'nung.
He began to splutter out apologies, the realisation dawning on him that he was being reprimanded by one of the fiercest women Awa'atlu had ever come across.
Another figure popped out of the shadows then, Lo'ak. His fists were tightly clenched at his sides, eyebrows furrowed as indignation rolled off of him in waves.
"Yaymak?! He snapped, and before you could even fully acknowledge his presence he rushed forward - tackling Ao'nung who was receiving a scolding from Neytiri, into the ocean before you.
"Lo'ak!" Y/n fretted as she peered over the edge to see the two boys yelling and cussing each other out as they floundered about in the water.
"What in the world…" Jake whispered in question to himself as him and Tonowari rounded the corner - quickening their paces due to the faint sounds of the commotion they had overheard.
His eyes widened at the scene before him, the chief mimicking his expression as well as they stopped, stunned in their tracks.
Neytiri was still yelling at the group of bullies, an accusatory finger prodding at one of his shoulders as he looked down at his feet in embarrassment. She turned a blind eye to what he rebellious son had just done, deeming it was rightfully deserved.
Both their eyes then flittered over to Y/n who was basically dangling on the edge of the platform, hauling a battered Lo'ak back up.
His drenched body collided with the surface and he grunted, but that didn't stop him from turning around to flip off Ao'nung who was struggling to push himself up.
"Yeah, eat shit!" Lo'ak continued to provoke him, even while branding a busted lip and what looked like the beginnings of a black eye.
"Lo'ak…" You cautioned, pointing to your father and Tonowari's looming figures.
"Oh fuck." He cursed to himself.
"What is going on here?" Tonowari boomed then, stepping forward and making his presence known.
Jake trailed behind him, tail swishing in unease.
"Neytiri!" He called for his muntxate, grabbing onto her and pulling Neytiri into his side.
You walked over to stand by your parents, guilt crescendoing - this happened all because of you. Stupid, you didn't want to make a scene in the first place.
"I'm sorry Olo'ektyan. This is all my fault." Y/n confessed, tail drooping as all the attention was shifted to her.
"She is lying! My 'ite cannot carry this burden any longer, she will not. This is all your son's fault! He has been antagonising my ‘itetsyìp since we came here." She persisted, a sigh of irritation falling from her lips as she once again pointed at Ao'nung.
The mentioned boy wiped his bloody nose, ears shifting as Neytiri said his name with such harsh conviction.
"'Itan, is what Neytiri speaks of true?" Tonowari divulged as he dug into Ao'nungs pride with a mere look.
"Yes, sempul. What she speaks of is true." He blanched at the scrutinizing look Jake targeted toward him.
It was like he was about to walk into the battlefield, gun in hand and ready to rain blood.
"Look at me, boy!" Tonowari thundered, eyes now slits as he admonished Ao'nung.
The clan leader's son could've gotten whiplash from how fast his head turned.
"Go home, and work up an apology. Now." The chief ordered.
"But, I can apologise now-" He tried to reason, wishing to get this embarrassment over and done with.
"It would be insincere." Both Neytiri and Tonowari spoke at once, the former giving an apologetic nod to your mother in agreement.
Ao'nung tried to fess up some words, but Tonowari glared. His chest almost heaving from contempt.
"Go!" He bellowed. Ao'nung with his tail between his legs scampered off back to his mauri.
His friends stood there, almost comically. They knew they were utterly fucked and word of this would travel back to their own families.
"Why are you still here, shouldn't you be working on your apologies as well?" Tonowari antagonised.
"Oh, uhm- sorry!" One of them spluttered before being shoved by another boy as they all ran off.
Tonowari sighed in chagrin, a hand of his meeting his face. He stood straight then, turning to acknowledge your family.
Right in tow, Neteyam, Tuk, and Kiri were pulling themselves back up from the ocean.
Lo'ak went over to help them. Ignoring the worried hands of his older brother that looked over his bruises.
"As Olo'ekytan, I failed in my duties today. As a father, I also failed. I sincerely apologise to you, dear." He looked at you then, eyes full of guilt as he briefly placed his hand on your shoulder.
"I will be sure that he will see through a firm reprimanding, Jake Sully." Tonowari called to the man that had become his good friend.
"I raise my apology to the rest of your family as well. You came here to seek uturu. This will not happen again."
Jake motioned, Oel ngati kameie, to him. Tonowari returned the motion, bowing his head down lower than usual to try to convey his genuine upset at the situation his son had conjured.
"You are a fierce mother, Neytiri. Your Sa'nok would be proud." Tonowari added, before turning around and making his exit too.
Neytiri watched him leave, a faint smile on her lips before giving all her undivided attention to you.
"Oeyä 'ite, are you hurt?" She necessitated, lifting your arms up and checking for any wounds.
"Sa'nok, I am fine." You dejected, eyes flittering to look anywhere to ignore her studying gaze.
"What happened?" Neteyam interjected, rushing over to you and bringing you into a hug. He felt terrible for having left you alone.
"I'm never leaving you again." He whispered, holding your head to his chest.
While the words came with comfort, they made your chest constrict.
Agitated you shoved him away. In return, Neteyam fumbled backward in surprise.
"Y/n!" Kiri gasped in shock.
"I am fine! I'm going to be fine! I'm not dying or anything, I'm still here okay?! I appreciate the concern, but please. Just, leave me alone." Your voice grew fainter towards the end of your speel, tears welling up in your eyes.
Cursing to yourself you rushed into the family mauri, humiliation seeping into your conscience.
Jake began to follow you but Neytiri put a hand on his chest. It had emerged on her then, how a situation that seemed so minor grew to become a lot more vocal than any of them prepared for.
Y/n was not one for attention, let alone being stuck in the midst of it all.
"Give her a moment, then we will go and console her," Neytiri spoke with quiet empathy.
"Okay." Jake agreed hesitantly, all he wanted to do was comfort his daughter. But he knew how much you needed your alone time.
So they huddled, ‘awsiteng. They waited, ‘awsiteng.
Until the light escaped the sky, and your raspy voice cut through the gentleness of the night.
"You can come in now, you didn't have to just wait outside. I'm sorry."
Jake looked to his family then, before they all slowly got up and made their way into the Mauri.
You were huddled in front of the fire, a blanket shrouding you as you blankly stared into the burning embers before you.
"Ma 'ite. You are not alone." Jake murmured as he sat by you, brushing away a stray strand of hair that had cast itself over your bloodshot and puffy eyes.
"I know." You acknowledged.
"Tsmuke, you are not alone." Lo'ak reiterated.
"Yes, I know." You acknowledged again, finally looking up at them as they all sat in a circle around the fire.
"‘Itetsyìp, you are never alone," Neytiri affirmed, having sat by your other side and giving your cheek a soft kiss.
"I know. Are you all trying to make me cry again?" You garbled, tears prickling in your eyes at the warmth you were receiving after giving them the cold shoulder.
"No, we aren't! I don't like it when you cry." Tuk remarked, jumping up from her spot and running over to you. Giving you a hug from behind as her little thumbs rubbed away the tears that began to stream down your face.
"Useless my ass! That shithead was so stupid to say tha-" It seemed Lo'ak was still hung up on what Ao'nung had said.
"Lo'ak!" You all chided, quiet laughter following.
Jake grinned down at you then, his teeth even showing a little as he watched his pride and joy laugh. "Baby girl, we mean it. We're all in this together…‘awsiteng."
"‘Awsiteng." You repeated, smiling up at him.
He combed through your hair, bringing you and Tuk into his chest.
"And you're right. You need some alone time, yeah? But we'll always be right around the corner. Okay?" Jake continued to reassure you, rubbing your shoulder - or what part he could reach since Tuk wouldn't let go of you still.
"Okay." You mumbled, arms wrapping around his shoulders and squeezing.
The pieces that felt so scattered and displaced suddenly puzzled back together.
This is home. Not the forest, not the ocean, not the mauri you all resided in.
As chatter overtook the silence, your parents began to cook up a late dinner. Your eyes met Neteyam's who sat directly parallel to you - he gave you a dorky thumbs up. Your little sign between each other that Jake had mentioned in passing that sky people do when you were younger, "Hey, are you okay?"
You returned it with your own equally as dorky thumbs up, earning a questionable look from your mother who after all these years - still could not fully grasp the concept.
This is home, the family that would always accept and love you through the toughest of times. Your family, that always made you feel whole. Complete.
As Neteyam yipped happily at your thumbs up, unable to hold his happiness under wraps. You thought then,
"Eywa, there is no other place I'd rather be."
࿐ ࿔*:・゚˳೫˚
𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐔𝐒 :
As your family began to prepare to sleep, Lo'ak tapped your shoulder.
You turned to him, giving him a questioning gaze.
"Yes, Tsmukan?"
He opened your hands before a familiar unfinished project was placed gently in them.
"I tried to dry it outside, I don't know how salvageable it'll be but I am willing to help. I know Tsireya really likes- oomph!"
You stood on your tippy toes, tugging him in to a gracious embrace.
He smiled then, hands wrapping around you as he swayed you two from side to side.
"I appreciate it so much, thank you brother."
