"My problem is that I want to have friends, but I'm too afraid to make them."
No, that's not a quote I found from a book. I created it.

God* appears to me through the sun rays peeking out through clouds or trees. An energy speaking to me in a cryptic manner that instills me with more than curiousity but also sheer wonder and glee.
*And by ‘god’ I mean the word for the collective spider web/net that enties all living and natural creations with a divine and holy strength that is rightfully shared amongst every individual and plant we share the earth and universe with, a power so strong that if collectively brought together for one goal can lead to incredible success and yet as it is spread out allows for a neutral world based on the secondary magic that is electricity. Now people are too focused on the logical aspect of the world rather than tapping into the infinitely complex world they have access to. ofcourse, given how not all things are inherently equal (give, an ant vs a flowerbud for example) their powers deviate accordingly, and yet, the balance they bring allows them to coexist and merge both energies to become something greater than either of them individually. Both hood a strength and able to manipulate reality as we know it, although due to their size, in a very very small way. So small we wouldn’t notice.
people, on the other hand, hold so much they can’t even grasp all of it. Yet it’s beautiful to see them try to. Know that all you are and can be and will be is undefined and chaos in small doses can lead to more good than you expect. Tap into it and you can talk with the divine, and recognise all the connections (from the grass you walk on, trees you see, people you talk to) and you’ll begin to notice a very hidden pattern that is quite logical if you so wish it to be. Don’t guilt yourself over inescapable things, the universe/the divine web/god litterally does not care if you accidentally squished an ant or picked a leaf from a plant, same with eating natural foods, as long as you didn’t have malicious intention towards anything at all, then it’s all good. Accidentally broke a pot? It’s alright. Accidentally snapped a twig? It’s alright! Eating some lettuce? That’s wonderful! Threw a rock at a window of someone’s home you know still lives there? Bad. Broke a window of a place you know is abandoned and know that prolly nobody even cares for it? That’s fine! Picked a flower for your lovely favourite person? adorable. Picked a plant from the ground because you saw a bug on it? Shame on you. Affect any living creature, inanimate (plant) or moving, no matter if it’s directly or even just in thought, and face the consequence.
even objects at time deserve love and respect!! AHSOKBXKDBKABKXBKX

it is legit bizarre to me how hard video game creators and film directors and showrunners try to pretend that fat people don't exist. can you think of the last time you saw a fat person in a lead role? god forbid a fat woman? i can walk down the street or go into a shop or restaurant and see fat people everywhere but then i switch on the tv and suddenly it's like a glimpse into an alternate universe where no one has a bmi over 24. insidious and weird

HEY YOU!
Do you have an obsession with Ace Attorney? At least mild respect (or fear) for Miles Edgeworth? An inability to focus on your tasks? All of the above? Well I have just the thing for you!!
For the low price of opening it on your web browser of choice, you can use my handy dandy program I’m tentatively calling “Miles Edgeworth Glares At You For Being On Your Phone Instead Of Working”
Features include setting a timer(wow!), victory music, and an image of one very angry looking prosecutor! That’s more than one feature!
Tumblr media
Try it out today!!
EDIT(final for real this time): I’ve made it so you can download and use it offline should you desire! Have fun

do you have any ideas about why so many students are struggling with literacy now? I know that illiteracy and reading comprehension have been issues for years and most americans read at like a 5th grade reading level but I’m curious why it seems to be worse now (pandemic? no child left behind?)
It is everything. There’s not one answer. I could talk about this forever so instead I set a five minute timer on my phone and wrote a list of as many of the many things that are causing this on a systemic level that I could think of:
It’s parents not reading with their kids (a privilege, but some parents have that privilege to be able to do this and don’t.)
It’s youtube from birth and never being bored.
It’s phasing out phonics for sight words (memorizing without understanding sounds or meaning) in elementary schools in the early aughts.
It’s defunding public libraries that do all the community and youth outreach.
It’s NCLB and mandating standardized tests which center reading short passages as opposed to longform texts so students don’t build up the endurance or comprehension skills.
It’s NCLB preventing schools from holding students back if they lack the literacy skills to move onto the next grade because they can’t be left behind so they’re passed on.
It’s the chronic underfunding of ESL and Special Ed programs for students who need extra literacy support.
It’s the cultural devaluing of the humanities in favor of stem and business because those make more money which leads to a lot of students to completely disregard reading and writing.
It’s the learning loss from covid.
It’s covid trauma manifesting in a lot of students as learned helplessness, or an inability to “figure things out” or push through adversity to complete challenging tasks independently, especially reading difficult texts.
It’s covid normalizing cheating and copying.
It’s increasing phone use.
It’s damage to attention span exacerbated by increased phone use that leaves you without an ability to sit and be bored ever without 2-3 forms of constant stimulation.
It’s shortform video becoming the predominant form of social media content as opposed to anything text-based.
It’s starting to also be generative AI.
It’s the book bans.
what did I miss.
