32. do you have a favorite towel?

I was going to say no but then I remembered I recently got given new hand towels and they are incredibly soft (but not the kind of soft where they are shit at being towels, iykyk) so yes I do!! One is yellow, one is orange and one is pink and I think I like the bright pink one the most bc it's so fun! I also love the yellow because it matches my tiles.

I'm not 100% sure! It has always been polaroidcats but I definitely used to do the whole seasonal URL thing for halloween and maybe even for christmas once? But that was so long ago so I really couldn't stay. I never changed it permanently though, it has been polaroidcats since 2014 I think! <3

whats your process for making stimboards like? :O

I think it's about the same as everyone else's;

I first search for gifs on Tumblr that match the theme of the board

I only ever search outside of Tumblr if I absolutely cannot find ANYTHING that fits, which usually means finding videos and making my own gifs from them instead (you couldn't pay me to use pinterest.)

(I also use google to find the source of a reposted gif if there is none but that's different)

Whenever I see a gif I could use, I open the original post/source of that gif in a new tab

I leave every tab open until the stimboard is 100% complete and properly sourced so I never lose any sources

This means I'll usually have 20-50 tabs open on average per stimboard, no big deal since I usually have tons of tabs and windows open at any given moment anyway, but I highly recommend an extension that optimizes gifs (like XKit Rewritten) if you do this

I copy the URL of the gifs so I don't have to save them to my computer and paste them into the stimboard post, sometimes switch them out for other gifs, and rearrange until I'm satisfied

I only ever save gifs if I have to add them after saving the stimboard as a draft (Tumblr won't let you just paste the URLs then) or if I edit the gif somehow (usually changing the colour)

Caption, link sources, tag, pop it in the queue, re-organize the queue if necessary

I've been doing this the same way since before the post editor got updated and I've been doing it for about... three years now? So I already feel like some of my methods are a bit dated compared to newer blogs' but y'know what they say about autism and change.

A long time ago there was a baby Bli who was very new to RP and just getting into the Doctor Who fandom. In early 2014 that baby Bli met Rune, who was just getting into world of rp, too. We instantly clicked both artistically and as muns. Now, this was back in the skype days, so most of our communication was done via skype since there wasn't a proper messaging system in place for Tumblr. We would talk all the time out of character and it was always so easy to plot.

However, that same year things developed so much more. Yes, it all started as just writing together, but we grew incredibly close to each other. It didn't matter the distance between us, it didn't matter that our time zones didn't match. We voice chatted, video chatted, and rped together every day, most of the time we did so simultaneously. Needless to say we started seeing each other that same year.

Hell we would even go on that old cards against humanity site online and play it as our muses at the time!!! That was a real fun time.

I once had a time where I went radio silent for an entire month, I wasn't writing, I wasn't doing anything. No communication with the online world. And yet when I came back, Rune was there like I had never left.

Around 2016-2017 i took a break from the rp world, but we always talked to each other, we would talk hours talking to each other about our days. She would even tell me how her writing adventures were and it always excited me, even I wasn't doing it.

Now, fast forward to now, I can now say that after almost 10 years of even knowing her I can sit beside her as I am typing this and she has no idea what I'll be saying until she sees this post. Because just recently in July I packed my bags and left my childhood state and joined her where I live now. I honestly couldn't be happier knowing that I get to be with the partner in the entire universe. (and that she gets to put with me :P)

Rune is truly my rock, I don't know where I would be if it weren't for her. And for that I am beyond grateful.

Hiiii thanks for asking! Gosh I started the Holiday AU quite a while ago and kinda lost steam but I definitely want to revisit it some day! It begins with Andi living in LA having just recently broken up with Walker, and TJ living in Shadyside having recently broken up with Marty (though unlike the movie both breakups were amicable). Andi of course ends up meeting Amber on her trip and TJ ends up meeting Cyrus. Here's a snippet!

At that thought, Andi sat straight up in bed. “I need a vacation!” she shouted to the empty room. She hopped out of bed and reached for her laptop, quickly typing out the url for Jumble. Bex and Bowie had used Jumble for their honeymoon and couldn't stop praising it, now this was the perfect opportunity for Andi to try it herself.

The only problem was, Andi had no idea where she wanted to go. “Universe!” Andi called out as her dad often did, “Where should I go!?”

Andi sat for a minute waiting for a sign. Nothing happened. Not very seren-dope-ity. Andi rolled her eyes as dark walls stared back at her and fetched her coin purse. She figured it would be easiest to go somewhere in the United States so she wouldn't have to renew her passport. She’d simply flip a coin to decide what half of the country to look at and keep narrowing it down from there. Andi reached into the purse and pulled out a quarter, illuminated only by the light of her computer.

“Okay. Heads I go East. Tails I stay West,” she said to herself. But before Andi could flip the coin, the tails side caught her eye. Two trains faced each other in front of a mountain range, along with the words “Crossroads of the West.” It was a 2007 Utah state quarter.

“Utah,” Andi pondered in the dark. “Okay universe,” she said with a growing smile on her face.

The sound of TJ’s phone buzzing startled him as he was just falling asleep. He grabbed it annoyance before focusing on what was on his screen.

The Andi Mack miraculous au was an idea I had a while back, I actually did end up posting my design for Andi as Ladybug here! I didn't get as far with Chat Noir TJ though. Just a rough sketch!

Unlike the show, this would NOT be a ladybug x chat noir romance, they're friends! In this AU I would give Cyrus the turtle, Buffy the tiger, Jonah the fox, Amber the snake, and Kira the bee. If there are any love square shenanigans it would be between TJ and Cyrus (TJ likes Cyrus as a civilian. Cyrus likes Chat Noir as a hero. They don't know each other's identities.) I'm not really sure who the villain would be though.

I think I might have posted my huntlow texting sketch before but I don't remember for sure so here it is again and the meme it's based on. The show has taken their relationship a lot further than it was when I started this, so I'm not sure if I will finish it one day or not. I still think they are cute though :)

short version: i used it on another site before. long version: one time, when i was really bored at school, i doodled some animals and everything felt normal, but then i realized the animal i doodled wasn't a regular animal but a sheep - snail hybrid - a schnaf in german, if you will. a few days later, i decided to make a new account on my first (and up to that point only) fanfic site because after one year, i felt like i needed a new start. but it felt rather temporary - i left the old account after not that long either and i thought i'd stay on the new account even shorter. so i just picked a random name - the animal i came up with a few days before. joke's on me, it became my identity.

yeah, i have a football side blog where i posted pics i took at matches, i have a side blog for a former fandom but i lost interest in it as soon as i created the side blog so... sorry, no new side blogs for fandom, i'm a one blog mess once again ♥ also several shared blogs for projects and stuff

Well.. I'm back on here, been struggling with my mental health since realising I'm neurospicy..

I'm still self diagnosed but going off the screening call I had 2 years ago it's all but confirmed but as I Still need to wait until the assessment (when ever that will be) for medication & support...

I have attempted CBT therapy since and dropped it as I had to keep explaining my symptoms in order to explain my problems every single session.

I'm a full time live in carer for my partner (pay is awful and non existent) and to say my skills have dwindled so much along with my confidence since that phone call...

YouTube is the only thing that brings me joy and even then I've not streamed in over a month due to life and carer duties getting in the way..

I hope to be back next week streaming, not entirely sure what I'm going to stream yet, maybe Fallout 4 which I've never played but I've been binge watching the Fallout TV Show.. or maybe I'll stream Pokémon Snap or other retro games as I recently upgraded my Switch Online account..

Speaking of YouTube I did stupidly change my handle from Dann to AlwaysDistractedHyperDann... (Spells ADHD) in an attempt to own the ADHD side of things. Then I couldn't make a logo work with that name and now I regret changing it ... I changed it mainly as I wanted every one of my socials to match but now I have a new name across all my socials and a logo that works..

this new toggle is only available in browser mode, at least as far as i can tell for now. there's no new toggle in the app

but i'm not sure if it isn't just the browser version of the viewable 'likes' and 'following' pages from the mobile app - i've never turned mine off

because that 'likes' toggle from the browser page is just above a 'following' toggle that sets a page url for each, which matches the format of the 'Pages' listing on mobile that's been "new" for like over a year now

so i'm not sure if switching this toggle will actually stop your likes from being pushed to your followers dashes, if that is actually happening. so far it hasn't done anything to my mobile setup

otherwise, this update seems like an attempt by tumblr to replicate some of the mobile experience within the browser version of tumblr, such as making all the posts one type (instead of separate photo, text, audio, etc. buttons) which is the way it's been on mobile for ages. this is probably linked to why you couldn't edit browser-made posts on the app for a long while

honestly i think a lot of the confusion is coming from people who haven't used tumblr "in the raw" in years - i never knew there were so many people in browser mode who seem to never have seen features that have been standard on mobile forever

did you guys know tumblr mobile app has direct video/photo posting and giffing a la instagram now? like, you can post your selfie or cat vid or whatever as a gif directly in the app, captioning included?

on the other hand, i am jealous of having tag viewer as standard in the browser. that is a feature i would love to have on the app

I don’t really remember? I know there was a blog I really liked in my first fandom that made cool edits and I wanted to try but idr their url oops. And otherwise I think I’m a fairly creative person so many graphics/gifs specifically was a fun way to exercise my creativity.

10. 3 things you don’t like about graphic making

- I have often wanted to throw my computer at a wall when Photoshop isn’t cooperating and/or keeps freezing

- It makes my fibromyalgia act up really badly in my wrists sometimes which is v inconvenient but also like everything on my computer does that so no biggy

- I rely too heavily on the validation I sort of get from it/the notes my posts get which I know is unhealthy

12. do you prefer making gifs or edits? why?

gifs. mostly because I can’t really make edits whatsoever. but also I find it really relaxing. I went into this before, but the process of making a gif is p repetitive for me and p natural so just going through the motions of importing frames, choosing the ones I want, setting the time delay, converting to video timeline, to smart object, then sharpening. but at the same time colorings differ from gif to gif and making them is sorta creative which allows me to do something relaxing that also stimulates me creatively so I don’t get bored or feel like a failure for spending my time on that.

14. when did you start making graphics?

per tumblr’s archive, my first picture edit (collage) was posted in November of 2012, my first graphic-style edit in May of 2013 and my first gifs in June 2013. I started making graphics in the phandom in February tho.

16. which fandom do you like making graphics for the most?

I mean, it changes based on which fandom I’m most into at the time. rn for dan and phil because I’m enjoying their content the most at the moment and also the lighting on their videos makes me want to throw my laptop at a wall slightly less often than the lighting of the show for my last fandom did.

18. how long do your graphics usually take?

it depends? if I’m keeping it simple like I do with new vids, I usually argue with photoshop for about an hour to make my first gifset for any new content. if I’m trying to be creative and like use a shit ton of hue/saturation and effects like that, it can take a few hours.

My process changes from artwork to artwork. I couldn't even make a tutorial on anything because I never draw the same way. lol (Except for the ears, I always draw Detective Conan ears. Or a version of it. 🙈) But the rough process is something like this: Sketch, sketch some more, make lines, delete sketch, sketch better based on lines, sketch even better, lines again, make better lines, color, make a new color layer, delete the last color layer, color again, look at clock, say fuck it, save, post online. X'DD

I know what you mean. My first color layer is always full of unsaturated colors, because they are so easy on the eyes. How often I have to repaint things, because I used not matching colors is ridiculous.
