As an anti, I think there's a HUGE difference between "I don't like this" and "I find this morally objectionable." I personally cannot stand when people make human designs of nonhuman characters. Bill Cipher isn't Bill Cipher to me if he isn't a triangle. Freddy Fazbear isn't Freddy Fazbear to me if he isn't an animatronic bear. I think they're stupid, but there's nothing objectively wrong with it, so I just don't look at it. Hope they have fun with something I can't. My perception of that artist hasn't changed because they draw things that aren't to my personal tastes.

Incest, pedophilia, zoophilia, necrophilia, etc. isn't "not to my personal tastes," though. That changes how I see that artist as a person, private or not. It really ticks me off when I talk about things that I think no longer make someone a good person, and proshippers talk about things I personally don't like. Those are two completely different sentences. Things I personally don't like are things I can brush past. I can still be friends with someone who wants to draw Bill Cipher as a Tumblr sexyman. I cannot still be friends with someone who fantasizes about assaulting fictional children (and I would encourage anyone else I know to cut contact with them too), and I wish we would talk about the difference more.

Pro's

-Awesome musical with great talent like Husk VA's (I'am weak to musical that sounds like hamilton rap writing sorry)

-Yuri🎉🎉🎉🎉

-fun animation to look at, they were definitely competent i applaud the animator to be able to animate vivziepop character design.

-Great sets of character and personality and great premise with potential that is fun to think about

-Circus art direction is derivative and cool

-Worldbuiding is fun

-It doesn't really fall into the cliche where it doesnt take itself seriously because its afraid the audience will find it corny

-Cool character design, as much as i roast the show for their twink tumblr sexyman factory design, they do sometimes cook hard af

-The most glaring issue is their horrible pacing, clearly lacks episode that fill us in silly hijinks that make us grew more attached with the character more or episode that explore the world around the character. Because of this the season 1 feel like a 3 season packed heavy lore into one season with frankenstein stitching

-Too much telling, not showing. They don't show us much stuff like how heaven is also bad in its own way, but just tell us through musical number.

-Lacks of character building for many character, many character see to still be used in a very little amount in the show, mainly the main cast. I think Angel Dust has the most character developtment in the show, but still in the standar of things if im being honest all the main cast is lacking. They feel like an unearned character developtment, like they just developt off screen and we as the viewer did not get to experience that at all, we just get told that now they have fit 2 whole season worth of character building now and we have to come to term with that.

-Lacks world exploring, Listen bruh explore hell or shit especially HEAVEN

-Repetitive character design trope, bruh stop putting goddamn twinks im scared of them

-Some episode have nauseating camera panning

-Cluttered character design, Some character design just have so much detail in them it hurt me eyesss

So, basically I think Hazbin Hotel is a very fun show with great concept, but unfortunately it rush thing too soon.

I genuinely believe if they don't blow it off with a bang and make it like a standard cartoon per episode like SVTFOE where we get silly hijinks and sometime gut wrenching episode they can still run to maybe about to season 4 i think, well it depends if the audience might save them... Hazbin isnt exactly a highly celebrated show because of viv.

And for special coverage about the SA/victim angel plotline, i truly dont gave a fuck about him but i think people blow it off too far. I don't think Angel is a bad SA representation, i think the show did decently on representing him as victim and Val as a abuser.

They don't glorify Val and they clearly put Angel Dust as a survivor first. For how the scene 'poison' representing, how people feel about that I truly cannot control what people think of that and it is a mixed bag, some people say its bad some say its fine, I think its okay-ish some frame is a bit icky thought, i can admit that but it does supposed to make you uncomfortable and it does make sense for Angel Dust as a character. But still, in some shot the line between horryfying oh shit he's being sexually abused to holy shit rape hot sexy times gets REAL blurry.

Sorry not sorry if there are so much CONS in this, but i truly only do that to the show im truly invested in. Its to show that i want to think how a show could be better and how much i cared

i still cannot fucking believe alfred molina’s character in boogie nights became a niche tumblr sexyman a few years ago. that is so fucked up. literally a Bit i wrote come to life. i used to joke about that and it happened for real actually.

i cannot believe that i have been around this shithole website long enough to see the long and sordid history of Tumblr Sexymen unfold before me in real time but i’m gonna drop a hot take, as someone who was there - yes, wheatley from portal 2 may have gotten the Tumblr Sexyman ball rolling. no, it is not entirely his fault.

like, a good 75/80% of human wheatleys were just varying degrees of stephen merchant, whom, if you have not seen him, is not only skinny as anything but also taller than fucking dwayne the rock johnson, which i didn’t even know until i needed a reference image for this post

(and this is not to discount the many wheatleys i saw back then that chose not to steal anything from merchant’s look, by the way, all of whom were equally valid and wonderfully designed)

but it was one of the only instances of the “turning a non human character into a Tumblr Sexyman” trope that made even a modicum of logical sense in canon context because a major plot point in portal 2 is that one of the main characters is revealed to have originated as a human consciousness uploaded to a computer, meaning that ANY portal robot could have been human (and trust me, all of the robot characters got humanized back then; he may have been the most popular but you will still find PLENTY of human GLaDOS), not to mention that honestly the man looks like he sounds and if being attracted to a featureless robot made people realize they wanted to fuck stephen merchant, or at the very least that they found traits of his appealing/fuckable, as a byproduct of that, i guess it tracks

so, yeah. wheatley is a friendly little dork who starts out as your robot pal, and then he gets put in charge of the facility and turns evil for a while, and some people made him look like his giant gangly voice actor, and frankly folks at the time were pretty cognizant of how anyone got to that point because y'know, portal 2 was a kickass game and we were innocent back then.

and then the onceler showed up and was a giant gangly twink who was in charge of a factory and also evil. and then the warden from superjail showed up and was a giant gangly twink who was in charge of a a jail and also evil. and then the clock from don’t hug me i’m scared showed up and had long fucking puppet limbs so i guess he’s a twink, and he controlled time and also was evil. and then bill cipher showed up and are we starting to understand how things spiraled out of control so fast, the bar to be fuckable on tumblr just plummeted once we realized characters are, or can be made to be, giant and gangly and also evil sometimes

hmmm right now it's Miles because he's being developed but as for like all time favourite I just really love Elijah. Funky guy. Mental problems

Well Fil would be a tumblr sexyman so I'm not sure if I want that or not

Sipho would probably be cool since I think people would make awesome art of her, same goes for Dante/Pete since the three of them all have specific powers that have something to do with light

Oh always my beloveds Isabella and Elijah, they're literally textbook girlboss and malewife, also they've got problems but to be honest they're far healthier than like any other pairing

I think only Jace and Anderson or any of the others in Lake Kana beat them in the category of healthiest relationship

24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?

I think Pete or Fil would take well to knowing they aren't real and are only characters and also they probably wouldn't harm me for their past and future so one of them would be good
