okay we're gonna have to call the pharmacy tomorrow because I don't think we can keep taking these meds.
I can't begin to convey how bad we feel or describe how we feel mentally. this is probably the most ill we've felt all year and considering we've had covid twice I think that's saying something.
it's triggered our psychosis, derealisation, depersonalisation, and just general dissociative symptoms way worse than we'd normally get. our mouth constantly tastes like we've just chomped down on some paracetamol. we can smell smoke really strongly but nobody else in the house can smell it. we've got the worst digestive side effects I can remember having from any medication. we can't stop shaking and the physical symptoms get so bad we just completely zone out and stop registering anything for a while. it feels like we're drunk and high and completely disconnected from reality while also being emotionally numb except for the distress from the physical symptoms and pretty much everything from the last 6 hours has been a blur because our brain just isn't processing what's happening.
every time I've been around the front today 🍬 has either been sobbing and begging for it to stop, or on the verge of screaming from how bad the stomach cramps get.
I'm hesitant to even take the 2nd dose of it but in the time between now and when we could call a pharmacy we'd have to take 2 doses and I'm also hesitant to just stop taking an antibiotic without getting medical advice. I don't know whether to just take it and hope for the best but I'd feel so guilty doing that knowing 🍬's the one stuck fronting and having to deal with this that I'm genuinely not sure I can do that

just wondering but what's Yoshino's personality like? She sounds like a great woman from the way you speak of her :)
Great is an understatement, if you ask me. She is the BEST WOMAN TO COME OUT OF CYBIRD!!! Of course, this is not a biased statement by any means. You can ask any players who have played genjiden, they all have only nice things to say about her! If anyone says, they hate her.................................................well, they have bad taste in women. That's all I can say!
My Yoshino is the definition of cute! You can google the definition of cute and the very sentence describes Yoshino. From her design to her personality, all screams cuteness!! Ikemen MCs are like a symbol of purity and kindness and I think out of all the MCs (excluding Kate for now) Yoshino fits that perfectly! She is very kind, considerate of others, adaptable, and very brave indeed. I'm not exaggerating this. As a doctor, she will treat anyone she can! Even including a demon. You can argue that it's because she is a doctor and all doctors would treat a wounded person regardless of whether they are friends or enemies. That could be true, but Yoshino's goal in life is also to open her own pharmacy and help anyone she can as long as she is alive. She doesn't do her job half-heartedly and treats everyone's injuries carefully as if she really wants her patients to be healthy. She also doesn't think she is too great of a doctor, because she also wants to study. If she finds any books on medicines, she will be sitting down and studying them for the whole night to the point that male leads have to carry her to bed. All male leads love watching her work because it heals their heart, but they would also have to make sure that she doesn't overwork because, yes! Yoshino is kind of a workaholic. I'll come to this matter later!
Now her being considerate. She doesn't care if the person standing in front of her is an enemy or a demon. Her kind heart will be still praying for their safety first. This can be clearly seen in some scenes, for example, in Yoshitsune's chap 1 and 2, Yoshino finds a fatally injured enemy soldier inside a hut where she took refuge from the ongoing war. Despite knowing that he's an enemy, she still decides to treat his injuries. She went out to get some water for her treatment but unfortunately confronts Yoshitsune on the battlefield. Yoshitsune of course was about to slice her head off, and Yoshino, after knowing that she is about to die and there is no one to rescue her, the first thing she recalls is the injured enemy soldier who is waiting for her in the hut. She immediately stops Yoshitsune from killing her saying that she's in the middle of her treatment and he can't kill her until she finishes it. This is just one example. No matter which situation she is in, the first thing she asks about is if her friends are safe or not.
Yoshino is very brave and adaptable. As long as she understands that the enemy in front of her has no intention of killing her, she will not be scared and will talk to him normally. The best example of this is Kurama's route. As you all know, Kurama has a unique personality. Yes, he glares and threatens everyone all the time, but he doesn't find weak people interesting. In his Chap 1, Kurama doesn't kill Yoshino despite her being an enemy because she's weak (physically). When Yoshino learned this, she started being less wary of Kurama and soon started understanding his personality. Kurama too finds it fascinating, how she bravely, talks her thoughts to him, eye-to-eye, without trembling. After she's taken hostage, she looked Yoshitsune and the others in the eye despite being a tad bit nervous. Yoshitsune and the others immediately like that about her because in this way she conveys that she doesn't have hatred towards Yoshitsune and his friends. She later even helped one of their citizens, which led to all of them giving her a party.
Yoshino is also brave or sometimes even more than the male lead in some cases. She will go to any lengths to save her loved ones. Like in Kagetoki's route, there is literally a scene where she shoves a knife at Akihito's throat and shows that she is actually ready to kill him. But this was just her plan to lure out Yasuchika, so he could stop Akihito from killing Kagetoki because she knows that Akihito is Yasuchika's weakness. Another scene from Kagetoki's route, which is my personal favorite, is when Kagetoki was suspected of being a spy of the Imperial Court. When everyone was blaming Kagetoki, Yoshino stepped in to prove his innocence by doing the investigation herself and bringing in actual proof. The beauty of this scene is that no one asked her to, not even Kagetoki. She did it all on her own. Even Kagetoki was shocked that she would be this brave to do something outside her comfort zone. There is also this scene in Yoichi's route where she fights a demon with a little bit of encouragement from Yoichi. There are scenes like this in almost every route.
Now coming to my favorite part. Yoshino is super seductive. It's not she wears revealing clothes to excite the male leads and get's all touchy, but instead when the male leads talk to her, they are all so smitten because she's so honest! It's not like she's trying to woo someone. Whatever she says and whatever reactions give, all are so honest. When she wants to understand someone, she openly asks and when she's bullied by the male leads, she blushes so much. Yes! Yoshino is a masochist. She really enjoys it when the male leads are a little 'mean' towards her. I'm not joking! She actually said it herself. Also, she has her own pick-up lines to excite the male leads. Here are some of my favorite pick-up lines:
Yoshino to Yoritomo: "I know, Yoritomo-sama is a man who doesn't show his weakness to anyone. But at least when we are together, I want you to be yourself."
Yoshino to Kagetoki: "Okay, Ibuki. I'll be your woman if Kagetoki-san loses the chess match....so let's see Kagetoki-san, if you can actually win this or not."
Yoshino to Shigehira: "Whenever you want me, I'll always be there for you."
Yoshino to Morinaga: "I wonder if I can be like you. If Yoritomo-sama is the one who changes the whole world, Morinaga-san is the one who saves his people. But I also learned that it is very difficult to save someone, I learned that today. That's why I really admire you....from the bottom of my heart."
Yoshino to Yoshitsune: "Please...Yoshitsune-sama....please leave a mark on me."
Yoshino to Benkei: "Benkei, can I hug you one more time? I feel safe and happy when I hug you."
Yoshino to Yoichi: "Just so you know! No matter what happens, I'm not giving up on you!"
Yoshino to Kurama: "Whenever we're doing it, I always end up fainting. I was a little sad because I thought I wasn't satisfying you enough. But last night, I didn't faint at all! So I'm not sad anymore!
Yoshino to Sueharu: "When I'm with you, I get excited. Even more, than you think."
Yoshino to Yasuchika: "I'll choose this purple one because it's the same color as Yasuchika."
Yoshino to Akihito: "I'll protect you from all the darkness in the world."
Yoshino to Tamamo: "I will never abandon you no matter what!"
Yoshino to Ibuki: "I didn't feel scared Ibuki. When I saw your horns coming out of your shiny blond hair, I thought they looked really beautiful under the evening sun."
Now let me explain some of her flaws so that no one complains.
As I said, Yoshino is a workaholic. Due to this she never takes care of herself. There was a scene in one of Ibuki's stories, where she ACTUALLY faints in the middle of the road at night due to anemia. Even though the male leads keep asking her to rest, she will still be stubborn and will always keep working hard. They all know that she loves her job but they also have to make sure that she doesn't go overboard. So the best way they find to stop Yoshino from working is to distract her by hugging and kissing her and whispering affectionate words to her ears.
She can also be reckless. She is someone who tries to do everything on her own. The male leads are always like "RELY ON ME!! I'LL PROTECT YOU!!" but this line goes above her head because she still becomes reckless no matter how many times the male leads begs her to not be reckless. In the end, the male leads gave up and told her to do whatever she wants and that they will be behind her back protecting her.
I could go on more if you want!

A love triangle with them...
dynamics/tropes + headcannons with different pairs of characters who are both in love with you. the question is...who will you choose?
; gn! reader, fluff, slight angst, le sigh too many hotties
Tumblr media
a. the flirty vs the sunshine
The Head Commissioner, AYATO, who's been after your heart for quite some time now, sending and offering luxuries and letters as a way to convey his affections, and often flirts with you in private. The one who manages to get you embarrassed every single time no matter how much you return his jabs. He's the type who'd give you butterflies and leave you hanging for more. It's an exciting feeling—hiding away from the public to share your laughters and jokes.
"You're just so cute, that it makes me want to bully you even more."
And his most trusted servant, THOMA, who's been your friend since diapers. Having hailed from the same nation, it's normal for both of you to have so much hobbies to share. The chemistry is undeniable to the public eye, causing most people to tease you when you both appear on the streets together. You feel the safest and most comfortable around him, and his innocent and cute smiles whenever he sees you makes your legs wobbly.
"I like being with you. It gives me the sense of calm I need after a long day."
I like to imagine that if the other found out about the other party's feelings, neither would do anything to interfere with it. They're good comrades, and if one lost in this lowkey rivalry for your heart, they know very well that the other guy would take care of you well—if not, better. Whoever your heart belongs to, they are both ready to accept it, since they both trust each other.
Tumblr media
b. the mischievous vs the clueless
That sly fox, YAE, always keeps you on your toes. The lady always knows what gets your nerves, and she knows how to take full advantage of it as a means to bother you. And the most annoying part is that you can't even do anything about it! Her pranks and schemes just barely step on your line of boundary, and it somehow irritates you more. But then again, what can you do when she's the one who's helped you through your hardest times?
"Hm? I'm getting too close for comfort? Oh...but you like it, don't you?"
You had never anticipated your very own ruler, EI, would take quite a liking to you. It all started when you had whipped her a dessert right in front of her eyes. Her reaction was priceless when you had turned a bowl of dough mix into delicious cookies. Ever since then, she's been following you around—pestering you to make her more. Feelings grew the more she spent time with you, and...she's now addicted to this sweet, unknown emotion.
"These confections you made...they're almost as sweet as you."
Yae would definitely take advantage of Ei's limited knowledge about humans and trick the archon into doing things that you wouldn't like. None are bad enough to make you actually hate Ei, but they're definitely making your mind drift away from the possible romance with her. Unless you have feelings for Ei from the start, Yae would definitely win this love triangle with her cunning tricks.
Tumblr media
c. the general vs the wanderer
As the Divine Priestess's sibling, you're also expected to hold the same responsibilities—even if you don't hold the official title. General of Watatsumi's militia, GOROU has always been the one to make truly make you feel home, his kindness reaching the depths of your heart that forces you to acknowledge him as someone who isn't just a friend. But you're not sure whether if it's more than a friend, or less.
"I'm sure your people trust you as much as i do. Her Excellency would say the same."
The strange fellow you met during the Vision Hunt Decree...KAZUHA, was it? He's the guy who managed to find out that you were struggling inside, despite how much effort you used to hide it. He says it's because of your...scent...not that you're convinced. But the real reason is that he has seen himself in you, like a bird trapped in a cage and bound to your home...so he offered a hand. He's willing to take you around the world, in exchange for your company.
"The mountains of liyue, nor the scenery of mondstatd compare to your beauty."
It's down to your decision; whether you take the hand of the most loyal servant you had during your entire life and defend your home, Watatsumi, together...or let go of your responsibilities and burdens as an acting priestess to be selfish for once, all while running away with someone who you see an enjoyable future with? They both wouldn't do anything to trample each other's desires for you. It's really up to you.
Tumblr media
d. the shy vs the strict
The adeptus who works for the Qixing, GANYU, has always been weird around you. Whenever you coincidentally meet in the morning dew of Jueyun, or in the bustling restaurant of Wanmin, she'd always react the same; cheeks bursting in red before running away to the opposite direction with her head down. You think she hates you but people around you say otherwise. You're confused to say the least, but the truth will eventually reveal itself.
"Uhm, I...that...it's just that...Its hard to face you when my heart keeps...*inaudible*"
You don't know why, but the Yuheng, KEQING, always seems to not want anything that has to do with you. You'd offer help during the times she's busy, and she'd go all high and mighty then say that she doesn't need your help. It's not obvious, but she just doesn't want you to overwork yourself any more than you already have. She can't act all soft when she's a pillar everyone depends on, so she opts to be more strict in a caring way.
"You're so stubborn. I'll do the rest so just rest already, you idiot..."
In this case, you'd be the one that has to reach out. They both wouldn't confess on their own, whether they know they have a rival or not. If they both knew, they'd have insecurities. Like Keqing would think how Ganyu would be a cuter girlfriend for you than her, or how Ganyu would think Keqing is more charismatic than her. It's really a matter of who you fall for first. then ningguang sweeps you away/jk
Tumblr media
e. the servant vs the master
He's always been fond of you. XIAO never saw these feelings coming from the moment he had met you, batted and bruised from fighting monsters and gods alike during the war. You were supposed to be his enemy but your unique prowess led you to being a comrade of his, where you both shared a mutual understanding of each other's pain and burdens. Both being immortals, your friendship would last long for sure. Though fate and time has other plans.
"You provide me with a relief i cannot comprehend...but I'll gladly take it any day."
Morax, or ZHONGLI had been the one to propose you join his army of defending Liyue, and he also hasn't realized how delectable you were as a person until things got much calmer. After his retirement, you'd both spend more time together as citizens of his nation, sharing memories over tea. Though his eyes have been wondering to your plump lips and long lashes more often as of lately. He suspects it, and he prides over it—over the fact he's actually in love.
"This tea is indeed exquisite. It's brewed specifically for lovers who share it."
Once Xiao finds wind of the fact his master is also enticed by you, he'd be terribly conflicted. Morax had gave him a second chance to redeem himself and find his meaning to live, but what if you're the one who gives him meaning? The one his supposed master loves dearly? And its not like Zhongli will make it easier for him—after all, dragons are possessive over their treasure.

Flourish and Hunt
Summary: Rook simps come get yall juice.
Notes: Yuu has vitiligo in this. Reader is referred to as Yuu and uses he/him pronouns.
Tumblr media
To close the distance between goals, from the unattainable to attainable, to outstretched your hand into the sun and slowly grasp at it the golden light that pours forth.
That was what Rook's Unique Magic was.
For he'd always felt that to be human was out of his grasp, that when he saw the various face that people made, how they would gesture and gesture like a game charades—how one could have just a piece of insight through the small tells of one's body and mind through their expressions, the wrinkling of skin and the closeness of brow when the gears would turn in their head, when eyes would flit around in search of something not yet on their tongue—whether it be lie or truth.
Rook had found it fascinating—would imitate the expressions of his sisters and his brothers, would imitate the differences in expressions that were all the same yet moved with a complexity that unmatched by others.
He was drawn to the uniqueness and yet... Found himself hollow. Like a drop in a dried up well, the bones of a bird—hollow even when life flourished around.
He'd been embarrassed about it. Watching the other kids display emotions on their striped sleeves and dirty knees from playing. How they could beam from ear to ear while all he could muster were a few smiles that never truly felt like smiles but rather the practiced moving of lips to convey just an ounce of what he felt.
His family never wondered what was wrong with him, though, never pushed him to be like other kids—because he wasn't— but instead guided him through life and offered him all the outlets he could ever imagine.
And he found acting.
He found tears, found joy, found grief, found the leaping emotions of love and found the sinking feeling of despair—he'd found it, he saw it through the eyes of others, through the faces of people who'd breathe life into characters scrawled onto paper and hidden behind hard, soft, or leather covers.
Rook had saw the unattainable and watched it fall into the palms of his hands at the tender age of eight.
And from then on, he strove for it.
The mighty, the weak, the perilous quest that was beauty in all forms no matter what others saw—from the tacky to the borderline guady, he found love etched into every piece and thus he saw.
To be a hunter is to pursue even if it is wrought in futility.
"Please stop watching me," comes the Prefect's voice from the window, squinting into the dark with a frown. "It's getting very weird."
"Oh, but Trickster, I simply want to see just a glimpse of your life today." Rook had been enamored with the Prefect ever since he showed up, the uproar he caused still talked about even after his accomplishments against the formidable Overblots Rook had heard all about.
Though, what really drew his attention were the patches of skin that contrasted greatly against bronze skin. How they melded together like fabric and draped against his form so fittingly he'd wondered if he was a painting come to life.
"Or..." Yuu trills. "You can just knock on the door like a normal person instead of hanging up in a tree."
Rook can't help the undignified snort that comes from him, for he knows Vil would scold him from Hades and back. He found no discomfort in his perch and he'd half expected the Prefect to shoo him off and go back to helping Grim with Practical Magic, an absurd concept when considering Yuu's magicless status.
"No need to worry about me, I can assure you I am more than comfortable."
"But I'm not and neither is Grim," Yuu leans against the window sill. "He's freaking out so bad his magic keeps shorting out."
Humming at this, Rook rolls the invitation around on his tongue, letting it dissolve before a slow smile curls on his lips.
Yuu was nevrler easy prey, in fact, highly elusive having a golden ticket such as this waved in front of his face, he'd be doing himself— as a hunter—an injustice by ignoring such an opportunity.
"You truly are a Trickster in your own right."
"Is that a yes?"
"Of course," Rook tests the branch to see if it will handle the shift in weight. "However, I'd advise you take a couple steps back."
"You're actually gonna jump in my room!?"
"Why, of course."
"Are you insane?!"
Rook quirks a brow as he watches Yuu take a step back, probably realizing he wasnt going to back down. "For accepting an invitation? I might be."
And in that, he leaps—thankful that the window was generously sized otherwise he wouldn't even have considered jumping. Though, the look of absolute shock and awe on Yuu's face makes his daring taste all the more sweeter.
Stepping in, his eyes rove over the white coverings on easels and stool. "Practicing Runes as well?"
"Runes?"
Rook walks over, picking up a stray chalk—blue, deep blue. "You see, these chalks are specifically made for Rune Writing—very powerful magic drawn from the earth and inscribed onto things." Noting the confusion, he adds, "Almost like Alchemy."
"Oh, well, um..." Yuu glances around the room, more aware of where they've been studying in. "You'll have to ask the ghosts about that, this isn't really... Mine."
Rook takes the covering off the easel—a blank page, perfect—and beckons the boy over, who takes unsteady steps towards him. "You see, Rune Writing was a popular practice about a hundred years ago but fell out of favor when Gems were introduced."
"Why?"
"Better accessibility. Rune Writing and technology either canceled one another out or..." Rook makes an explosion with his hands. "Had disastrous effects as the Earth's innate magic is being called upon and well... Human v. Nature is a prevalent trope, no?"
"Oh..."
"Gems, especially from the Dwarves Mines were considered to be amazing capsules for magic as well as retaining Blot to a minimum."
"So, using the Earth's magic increased Blot because of how powerful it is?"
Rook smiles, "yes, you catch on quick."
"Of course, I do 'm not stupid."
"Never said you were; give me your hand."
"In what? Marriage?"
"Perhaps," Rook teases as he takes Yuu's hand, "I would like to show you how Rune Writing works."
He can feel the shake of Yuu's hand but doesn't comment on it for they aren't won't be evoking earth's magic.
Rook is certain that if Vil gotten his hands on the Prefect he'd make sure the calluses and fading scares that decorate the bronze and ivory patches of skin would disappear, but he found that he didn't mind the stories they told. He might not have had the strongest or the daintiest of hands but they were ones that perfectly fit Yuu, shaky and sweaty and all.
"Done!"
"Wow." Breathless, Yuu watches the traces of magic that course through the runes inscribed on paper.
"Merveilleux , no?"
"I... Yeah."
"Fugnya! What is he doing here!" Grim exclaims, butting into the room. "Why are you two holding hands?!"
Yuu breaks away like a man scorned and Rook settles on putting the chalk away to ignore the lingering warmth. "Grim, what the hell?!"
"I'll be taking my leave then?"
"Shoo! Shoo!"
Yuu whirls on his heel, "uh—sorry—thank you so much."
Rook grins, striding over to the window. "I'll see you very soon, Trickster."
To evoke such spontaneity...
Now that was a power truly worth hunting for.

Could I have headcannons of Tanjiro x reader where Nezuko tries to get them together, like they don’t realize they have feelings for each other but Nezuko ships them anyway
MATCHMAKER EXTRAORDINAIRE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: Kamado Tanjiro x gn!reader
genre: fluff, modern!AU
words: 2.1k
a/n: im finally back to finishing my requests after who knows how long!
Tumblr media
As the newest student of Kimetsu Academy, you're understandably nervous on your first day. Questions about whether you can fit in, make new friends, get use to your classes and all the like swarm around in your head.
You've been assigned to the Tansu Class, and at first glance when you walk into the classroom, everything seems normal. Your homeroom teacher is the PE teacher, Tomioka Giyū, and all your classmates look friendly enou—is that guy shirtless?!
You step onto the podium while trying to keep your eyes off the strange guy with his shirt’s button all undone. Tomioka-sensei introduces you quickly before gesturing to you so you can talk more about yourself.
You can’t help but feel anxious when you see a bunch of eyes glued onto you, and you resist the urge to fidget with your fingers. Just then, you accidentally make eye contact with a boy with dark red hair who’s sitting near the front row.
He seems to have noticed how nervous you are, and to your confusion at the time, he gives you an encouraging smile and eyes that silently convey his message.
“You can do it.”
You go through your little speech with more ease after that. The class clap politely, and you silently let out a sigh of relief.
"All right, let's see where we should put you." Tomioka-sensei scans around the room for an empty seat, finally zeroing in on one place in particular. "There's an empty place next to Kamado. Kamado-san, raise your hand please!"
To your surprise, the arm of the boy with hair like red wine shoot through the air. Your teacher nods and gestures to the seat next to him. "You can go sit there, (L/N)-san."
As soon as you settle into your seat, you notice the boy next to you—Kamado—giving you a friendly smile and a nod in greeting. You can't help but smile back at him, maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.
You go through your first few classes, and finally it's time for the nerve-wracking time for many new students: lunch.
But before you could worry about where the cafeteria is or who you're gonna sit with, you hear your seat partner say your name.
"Hi, (L/N)-san. I'm Kamado Tanjirō, nice to meet you." "Ah, nice to meet you, Kamado-san." "Listen, if you don't mind, you can sit next to me and my friends at lunch." "Really?" "Yeah! I know it can be hard since you're new, so I want to help you. I-if you want to, of course."
If you could go back in time, the first thing you would do is thank Tomioka-sensei profusely for sitting you next to Tanjirō.
What began as a simple invitation to lunch quickly blossomed into a friendship, and you also get to meet his other friends as well.
There's Zenitsu, a boy with a heart as gold as his hair and as big as his screams whenever he gets chased around by Tomioka-sensei. You also find out that Inosuke, the shirtless guy, is also part of the group.
There's also Nezuko, Tanjirō's younger sister, who would sometimes sit with them at lunch and have the most adorable smile.
But even though you’re able to meet a lot of friendly and cool people (some quirkier than others), you still find yourself gravitating towards Tanjirō.
Perhaps it’s because he was the first one to talk to you. And also maybe it’s because during the entirety of that first week, he stuck beside you and helped you anyway he could. Don’t know where the lab is? Just follow him! Want to know where the best place to eat lunch is? He got you! Want to know which teachers to not piss off? Just ask him!
He even took the trouble to walk you back to your house to make sure you don’t get lost, and it just so happens that his house is in the same direction as yours. So it became normal for you, him, and Nezuko to walk to and from school together.
You become a regular at Kamado’s Bakery! Sometimes you go in the morning to buy some pastries, and often you would have study sessions with Tanjirō in the afternoon.
The kids absolutely adore you! They ask so many questions the first time you came. It came to a point that Tanjirō had to politely shoo them away before they could overwhelm you (especially when they ask if you’re dating him or not).
And there's merit to their question, too. It's hard not to notice how close you guys are. Tanjirō is friendly to everybody, but it just seems like he's extra considerate with you.
His eyes look for you in the crowd, he shares his lunch with you, and he even brings extra school supplies just in case you forget anything.
Some nights, Nezuko would see her older brother smile widely from ear to ear while texting on his phone.
"Who're you talking to?" "Oh, just (Y/N)."
She could tell right away that her brother harbored deeper feelings for you, but he’s just too oblivious to realize it. As a matter of fact, Tanjirō is liked by many people in the school, but he has always perceived their flirting as normal friendly behavior.
It’s the first time that he took an interest in someone else, and Nezuko is glad that it was someone kind and caring and makes him happy.
She already knows what her brother thought about you (because he literally can’t shut up about you), so it’s time for her to gauge your thoughts toward him.
“(Y/N)-senpai, what do you think of onii-chan?” “Eh? Why the sudden question, Nezuko-chan?” “I’m just curious.”
You hum in thought. “Well, he’s a really good friend. He’s nice and sweet, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He helped me with homework last night even though I called him at such a late hour, did you know that? And he brought me some pastry today just because I offhandedly said I was craving some...”
And on and on you went.
“Soooooo, you like him then?” “Well yeah, I think it would be hard to find someone who doesn’t like Tanjirō.” “No, no, I’m asking if you like him more than a friend.” “...Like a best friend? I haven’t known him for too long, but I guess I do consider him my best friend.”
No. Absolutely not. Nezuko did not just endure your rant just to hear you say that. Is she going to do something about these two oblivious dorks? Of course!
She recruits Zenitsu, whose poor ears have to hear Tanjirō’s heart and yours pounding at the presence of the other on a daily basis.
He reads shojō manga. I just know he does. So of course he immediately recognizes how the two of you felt. You two are in your little world sometimes, surrounded by sparkles and flying hearts and it’s honestly starting to make him sick a little.
But he wants to make his friend happy, and he’s not gonna pass on an opportunity to spend more time with his crush.
It began with excuses so that you and Tanjirō can spend lunchtime alone together (they had to drag a complaining Inosuke away). And then Zenitsu pulled some strings so that you both are doing classroom cleaning duty on the same day.
On one particular instance, it was pouring rain and you've somehow lost your umbrella, even though you remember bringing it that day. Tanjirō, being the kind boy that he is, offer to share his umbrella with you.
Due to the limited space, you had to stand quite close to him, almost shoulder to shoulder. It should be a simple walk home, but there’s something about being so close to him that makes you feel jittery.
Is he always this tall? Has his hair always been such a brilliant color? He really does have soft features...and he kinda smells good...
You turn away in embarrassment, afraid of where your thoughts are taking you.
(Don't worry, the boy next to you is more or less also going through the same thing.)
Nezuko and Zenitsu have come up with many plans, but you two are just so *clenches fist* damn dense. Finally, they decide to put one of their biggest plans into action.
Nezuko managed to secure some really cheap amusement park tickets, and everyone agreed to go, aside from Inosuke who had a wrestling match that weekend.
“Hah?? What are you talking Monitsu, my match isn’t—” But before he could finish, he had been loudly interrupted with a hand to the mouth by said blonde boy.
It’s a beautiful Saturday, and you’re supposed to meet at the amusement park. But when you arrive at the meeting place, there’s only you and Tanjirō.
“Um, where’s Nezuko?” “She was having really bad cramps this morning, so she can’t join us. Have you heard anything from Zenitsu?” “Apparently he got food poisoning from last night’s dinner.” “...So it’s just the two of us?”
It’s okay, you can do this. You’ve hung out alone with Tanjirō before, this time shouldn’t be anything different. So then why are your hands shaking just a little bit at the thought of spending time alone with him? His reassuring smile should make you feel better, but it just inexplicably makes your stomach do flips inside.
It took a few rides, but you finally are able to relax around him. There’s the carousel ride, and then you both screamed side by side on the rollercoaster. You held onto each other while the world spins around you after the teacup ride. You made funny faces in the mirror maze, and you unknowingly clung to his arm as you went through the haunted house.
You drop it like it scalded you once you realized what you’ve done, apologizing quicker than your brain could supply you with words, even when he told you that he didn’t mind at all (was that a blush you see on his face?)
You decide to cast it out of your mind, the sudden hunger that made your stomach growl becoming more important After feasting on overpriced park food, you walk together with soft-serve ice cream in your hands, laughing and joking around.
One of your arms is looped around his, and as you watched him throw his head back in laughter at one of your stories—his smile radiant as the sun—you have an inkling that this doesn’t feel like any other time you’ve hung out with him. The intimacy, the jittery nervousness that you feel, the unacknowledged spark in the air, the strange yet familiar feeling blooming in your chest that you couldn’t put a name to...
If you don’t know any better, you may even say that this feels like a date...
You mind screech to a halt at the very thought, effectively making you stop in real life as well.
What’s wrong, (Y/N)?” “N-nothing! Nothing’s wrong!” You wave the thought away and quickly drag him to another ride to distract yourself.
As the sun slowly makes its way down the horizon, it’s the perfect time to go on the Ferris wheel. You two sit on opposite side of each other, eyes glued to the window as your cabin goes higher and higher. Hues and pigments of orange and pink seep into the sky as if it is a fabric under the hands of a skilled artisan. The world peacefully transitions to the golden hour, a fleeting time when everything becomes a little more tranquil.
You watch the town from above, spotting places that have become familiar to you, watching as little glimpses of different lives appear before you.
And then you turn around—as if a voice had told you to do so—to see Tanjirō being cast in a soft glow from the setting sun, his burgundy hair turning a rich color like red silk, and his eyes are bright and full of wonder. He looks like a painting come to life, created with gentle and loving strokes that evokes a sense of safety and peace to whoever looks at him.
In that moment, something clicks into place, the name for that unknown feeling in your chest burst onto your tongue like fireworks, illuminating you for a second and quickly throwing you into the darkness when they fizzle out and left you feeling dizzy.
That night, you text Nezuko with trembling fingers.
“Nezuko-chan, I think I like Tanjirō. What should I do????”
In another part of town, Zenitsu also received a message.
“Zenitsu, I think I like (Y/N) as more than a friend. What do I do?? I’ve never felt this way before!”
The two matchmakers can’t help but smile in exasperation. You two better treat them to a meal after this is done.

all in a day's work / daisuke kambe
somebod requested a badass reader? sorry for this very late update. online classes is kicking my butt. you wanted either a scenario or a headcanon so i decided to make both. long scenario/headcanom mashup ahead.
requsted by anon: Hii!! I just want to say first of all, that I just discovered your blog and I just fell in love with it, keep going you’re amazing❤️❤️ soo can I ask for a Headcanon or scenario (it’s up to you) where Haru has a female friend who works in modern crimes prevention and is really badass (like she knows how to fight and all that stuff), so one day she helps Daisuke and Haru in a investigation in which a fight starts and Daisuke gets impressed by her abilities and develops a crush on her (????)
UNEDITED
__
It was another mundane morning for the the Modern Crimes department. The room was oddly colder, and the civil servants occupying the compact and simple space secluded themselves with their own businesses. Mahoro Saeki sat on the couch partaking in an unhealthy snack she had shipped from a foreign country, Kamei Shinnosuke was browsing through the internet and more than once using to his advantage the global connection that comes with his access to the computer in order to satisfy his habits and indecent hobbies, Yumoto Teppei tuning in to the occuring horse race in an international channel in his device, Nakamoto Chosuke merrily bading his time reading through documents of recent illegal activities assigned to his care, Kiyomizu Yukihiro fiddling with yet another craft he made out of wood and glue, Kato Haru awaiting the telephone to sound off and have another indiviual summon him for a petty crime, and Kambe Daisuke seated far from the othere, legs crossed and chin resting on his knuckles as he appraised the tranquil area.
Haru slammed his hands on his desk and threw his head, moaning in disdain. "Why isn't the phone ringing?" Whined he as his posture was regained after a moment or so. His eyes, lit with pure frustration and impatience, glared at the telephone, as though threatening without verbalizing his objective would somehow make it ring. "Come on, ring, you stupid phone. How come you always ring whenever I don't want you to and don't when I do?"
"It's a slow day." Remarked Kamei, not takint his eyes off his computer as he regarded his colleague. "Try to enjoy it. You can have all your action some other day."
Haru leaned against his chair, back sliding against the backrest and the back of his neck hitting the edge of his leverage. "Not everyone has weird hobby to keep themselves entertained." Countered Haru, and a pout formed on the blond male's lips at the comment. "This job is what keeps me from going insane."
The offended male turned his swivel chair to face Haru, face scrunched with the same attribute he exuded, "Oi, don't say it like that. It's bad if you describe it like that."
"It's weird without even having to add the adjective." Saeki chimed in between her chewing, humming as the flavor of the chip formerly cinched in the possession of her fingers travelled to her taste buds.
Kamei whipped around to her position, shoulders tensr with the taste of truth and reality, both of which ignored in favor of living in bliss. "It's nor weird. It's perfectly normal for men to be looking at those . . . sort of inappropriate . . . videos." His words trailed off as he came to realization that his own defense betrayed him.
"I agree, but not at work." Haru simply retorted. "Would you want to see me cooking a whole feast inside the precint?"
Kamei looked up in ponder, mouth curling as his thought process stuttered before he presented his inquiry, "Do we get to taste the food you made though?"
Haru stared at the blond man with an impervious mask decorating his appearance, unimpressed with how the man broached the metaphorical event served to him. "Never mind." Shaking his head with amicable dismay, Haru turned his seat to a half circle, arms taking space upon the the armrests. His line of sight crossed over the facile yet minimalistic design of their room, the dull colors of the walls an addition to his disinterest until it landed on a brooding and well vested man.
The referred individual had boredom etched all over his striking features, the lack of events occuring in the Modern Crimes he could invest his time in had him in a bad mood although showcasing it to his colleagues was not his cup of tea. He and Haru were different, and how they handle themselves in this patience consuming day was one of them.
"I'm surprised you're still here." Haru conveyed with a vestige of astonishment. Truly the older man had no such ability that could understand the complexity of his wealthy counteepart. Most days, whenever days were a little too slow for his liking, he would up and retreat back to his home (mansion seems more of an appropriate term to refer to his household) but lately, he had been spending more time in the precinct, and Haru did not know how he should react to this development, or devolvement. His comment floated in the density formulating inside the office, and everybody present swiveled their heads to await his response. "I thought you'd be back in your house now. No cases today, it seems. No games to entertain yourself with today."
"Tell me something I have yet to know, Inspector Kato." Retorted Daisuke, and a tick mark grew on Haru's forehead, but his displeasure to his rude counter was ignored as Daisuke brought his fingers to his ear. He spoke, enough for others to hear his statements. "HEUSC, locate the nearest and most recent crimes occuring within the area."
Haru rose from his seat, alarmed. "Oi, what do you think you're doing?"
Daisuke did not respond to Haru and awaited his butler's relay of information. It did not take more than a few seconds until it has accumulated enough information to submit to his master. "A few streets away, a murder of two took place in a bar called Denyr. Investigation is in process currently."
Daisuke removed his hand from his earpiece and looked towards a flabbergasted. "You heard HEUSC. Let's get going." Daisuke stood up from the couch, dusting himself off before making his way towards the door.
"Wait a minute," Clamored Haru, and Daisuke looked over his shoulder to gaze at him. Haru gritted his teeth, irritated. "You can't just up and go and do whatever you want! This is not your call! We weren't called so we'll just disturb everyone else who's already there."
"Aren't cops allowed to interfere in crimes or disturbance in peace whenever they want? It's their job." Said Daisuke. "And besides, you're just as eager as I am to do something other than waste the entire day waiting for the phone to ring." Then he frowned. "Unless, I'm mistaken, of course. I have no qualms leaving you here. I'm sure you'll be useful for warming up your chair for tomorrow."
Haru growled at him. "You stupid . . . " He grunted and took his jacket off his chair. "Fine! I'll go with you, just to keep you in check!"
“Wait a minute,” Exclaimed Saeki, causing Haru and Daisuke to turn just as the latter had began turning the doorknob. The pink haired female abandoned her seat in favor of giving them a standing and patronizing narrowed glower. “Haru, aren’t you forgetting something today?”
Haru looked up in thought, trying to recall what Saeki was implying. Nothing significant manifested in his line of thought and he turned to his colleague with a frown conjuring in his mien. “Uh, I don’t think I’m forgetting anything.” Answered Haru.
Daisuke grunted, displeased by the interrupting. “Then let’s get going.”
Daisuke pushed the door open and stepped outside. Haru was following suit, shrugging his jacket on when Saeki called out for them once more, particularly the older officer. She had her arms crossed, an unamused pout forming on her brims. “Haru, don’t be stupid!” Clamored she. “I can’t believe you forgot what today is!”
Haru let out an exasperated sigh. “I honestly can’t remember what makes today so important.” Said he. “What is it?”
Kamei rolled his swivel chair back, making sure to reveal himself from any obstructions blocking his form. “Eh? You of all people forgot (Your Name) is coming back?” He conveyed and whistled right after. “That’s surprising, and disappointing. I’m sure she won’t be thrilled knowing you’ll be the last one welcoming her back after her hospitalization – her best friend, her partner in crime.”
Haru’s face fell upon acquiring the information relayed to him. His mind refreshed, finally remembering the time when you took your time from resting in the hospital just to tell him you were soon to be discharged after the outcome of you recklessly electing to throw yourself in front of him when the perpetrator pulled the trigger and shot a bullet his way. You were fortunate enough to have the cylindrical metal projectile imbedded nowhere near any of your vital veins, but due to your blood loss as well as the stacking strain and stress in your body forced you to be admitted in the care of the hospital. Haru was sure you were not supposed to move when you selected to take your phone and call him because he can hear the nurse in the other line scolding you, telling you to end the connection and to rest easy for the remaining week. He could only miss you more – he knew how much you hated doing anything but police work. Haru couldn’t believe he forgot about that since he distinctly remember hardly being able to be consumed by sleep when excitement for your return filled him.
“Shit, it’s today.” Cursed Haru as his shoulders dropped. He slapped his palm against his forehead, groaning. “My God – how can I forget? I’m the worst partner ever.”
Daisuke glanced at Haru, bemused. This was the first time he had heard over this (Your Name) woman. To him, Haru was always a lone wolf who preferred to be alone in his work unless he was required to have a companion with him. Or maybe because it was loyalty to his said partner kept him from going to missions with another. Daisuke looked back at Saeki and Kamei, “Who’s (Your Name)?”
Haru wanted nothing more than to hide your existence from Daisuke. You already had so much in your plate and having a rich bastard interpolating with it was more than you can handle, especially after being hospitalized for quite a while. But it was inevitable for the two of you to meet seeing as Daisuke seemed to be taking a strong liking with playing cop and were in the same department as him. So resigning with the concept of keeping you away from Daisuke, Haru let out a deep sigh. “(Your Name) is another cop in our department. She’s my partner.”
Daisuke blinked at him. “Someone can actually put up with you?”
Haru angrily show his fist to Daisuke, irritation swathing his figure. “What was that? I should be the one saying something that! I don’t know how Suzue-san can put up with your rich ass!”
“Maybe if you’re rich, you’ll know.” Countered Daisuke.
Before Haru could grab hold of Daisuke’s collar, the latter efficiently evaded his attempt to do so and stalked off into the corridor, adjusting his pristine suit as he ventured away. “If you want to stay here and wait for your partner, fine by me. I can go alone and handle the murders all by myself.” He said without looking back to meet Haru’s hardened gaze. “I’m sure this (Your Name) person is more important than the safety of other Japanese citizens.”
“O-Oi, I haven’t even decided yet! Don’t assume I’m not going!” As much as Haru wanted to be the first person to greet you back to work, he too loved justice and cared about the people who wanted to live in peace. Clicking his tongue out of annoyance, he turned to everyone left in the room, and all of them returned his gaze with bemused expressions. “Kambe and I will be quick. We’ll just drop by the crime scene and then cime back. I’m sure I’ll be able to return here before (Your Name) can. If not, tell her I’ll be back soon.”
***
daisuke was never inclined to pursue a romantic relationship. ever since witnessing his mother died, his life had been reserved into finding the truth. but little did he know, his perspective in love and romance will change, and hary will most certainly freak the fuck out
the two police officers arrived in the crime scene in a short amount of time. with how daisuke was speeding, it was understandable they would get there fast and very understandable how haru's whole life flashed right before his eyes. daisuke was actually tempted to go even faster but opposed to it after a while as he did not want to deal more with haru's tantrum after he recovered.
of course when they arrived there, the detectives assigned to the case shooed them off because they're not part of the investigations.
daisuke knew how to deal with them, of course. he brandished stacks of yen to include them in the case and the detectives were like 👀 because you know, who doesn't want extra cash?
haru didn't bother complaning anymore and just went to work. he wanted to get back to the station as soon as possible and welcome you first. best friend efforts, get a best friend like haru.
haru: "i scout the ground floor, you go upstairs - AND NO SPENDING MONEY YOU RICH BASTARD"
daisuke:
haru:
daisuke:
haru:
daisuke:
haru:
haru: "and - "
daisuke left before haru could finish his sentence. really daisuke just stayed and didn't answer him just so he could piss haru off. it worked nonetheless and daisuke can hear haru cursing at him as he walked upstairs
but we all know whatever daisuke does pisses haru off so so it didn't matter.
daisuke went up to the second floor if the bar and he saw how thrashed the place was
overturned tables, fallen chairs, broken bottles, reeks of alcohol, smears and pools of blood but everything seemed pleasant to look at compared to the two corpses that laid out on the floor with police tapes around them. it looked like a small massacre occured in there, and thay surely was the case
head smashed, chunks of flesh scattered, broken skulls but daisuke merely stared at them blankly
he wasn't disgusted nor disturbed. seeing his own mother's corpse was enough for him to deem gore as just another normal addition to his life
like another detective, daisuke began looking for clues. he searched the entire place like the good and professional detective he is -
who am i kidding - the first thing he did once he sees the condition of the second floor was, or course, ask HEUSC for information. screw asking them from fellow detectives when daisuke has his own ai butler
ahh perks of being a kambe
daisuke: "heusc, tell me the exact number of people that attended this bar between nine am to twelve in the afternoon"
heusc: "understood"
it did not take long until heusc responded
heusc: "the exact number of people who attended genyr is twenty seven. twelve in the ground floor, twelve in the ground floor, fifteen in the second. there are two dead bodies found in the second floor - "
daisuke snapped his head to the ceiling as soon as he heard a soft creak emit from over him
daisuke stared at the ceiling for about a moment before askint heusc - "look at the footage from the surveillance cameras surrounding the the bar. how many people fled outside?"
daisuke heard another creek above him, and this time he was sure he wasn't alone
and his unknown companion would love to have him in the same state as the corpses
and heusc replied: "twenty four"
daisuke closed his eyes, "is that so?"
heusc: "one person remains inside the building"
daisuke dropped his communication with his ai and positioned himself to a clean posture, back straight and hands tucked inside his pockets
daisuke: "you can come out now. no use hiding. i know you're here"
no response
daisuke clicked his tongue, "i heard you moving around in the ceiling the entire time i'm here and it's only been two minutes. you're not as discreet as you think you are. reveal yourself now and i'd consider lessening your time in jail."
still, silence greeted him
daisuke was growing irritated by the lack of answer given to him.
daisuke: "a coworker of mine needs to be back at the station right now for a reunion with his girlfriend - " daisuke paused as he imagined haru having a girlfriend. " - so let's keep this short and simple. surrender and as i have promised earlier, i will try to get you lesser years in prison"
but daisuke was not intending to keep this promise. even he knows giving a generous offer to criminals would weaken their resolve
but again, there was no answer
but he expected this
he always does to every case he gets handed with, or forced his hands to
daisuke observed the ceiling through a blank lense before sighing "if this is how you want things to go down, then so be it"
daisuke touched his earring and deliberately increased the volume of his voice as he spoke to heusc - "heusc, purchase the bar and its neighboring buildings and set a bomb for twenty minutes. tell the others to get out of here as soon as possible" he sneered at the ceiling. "i don't mind dying inside this bar with the suspect. it's the norm for a police officer to risk theit lives in the name of justice"
he sounded like haru for a moment there
heusc responded immediately: "understood, sir. balance: unlimited"
it was after that statement did a response come to light
the ceiling above daisuke broke as a firm kick broke through the fragile material
daisuke jumped away before a slim figure of a man dropped down from the hole
before daisuke could move, the man dashed pass him and out of the room, his oustretchrd hand barely grazing the bloodied clothes he wore
daisuke didn't waste time and recovered from his stunned state before following after the perpetrator
daisuke kept losing track of the man from time to the time and when he got down to the grounr floor, he saw no sign of him
nobody was present inside the bar anymore per order of heusc and money
all except for haru of course who immediately ran out of the place he was scouring and back to the main room
daisuke knew he heard heusc's order to leave the building but
haru will always be haru
haru, upon seeing daisuke's solemn state, asked: "what happened"
daisuke: "the man - did you see him?"
*haru, confused noises*: "what man? who?"
daisuke: "the man who killed the peple upstairs - he was still here and he ran down, didn't you hear him?"
haru: "no, i didn't - " his sentence was cut off when a figure suddenly lunged at him
lo and behold the criminal who was hiding behind an overturned couch
haru and the man tumbled down to the ground, fists and feet swinging wildly. daisuke watched as haru struggled to acquire dominance over the situation
daisuke: "heusc, identity of the killer"
heusc: "sakatoshi matona, a former bouncer for genyr until he was let go without reason"
haru strung out profanities and grunts as he and the matona rolled on the floor, trying to pin the other down. with a boost of strength, matona managed to get the upper hand and he put all his weight on haru. his hands found haru's neck and began strangling him
daisuke was like aren't you cop? win you idiot in the inside and haru was like aren't you a cop? help me you bastard in the inside. just the norm for the reckless and seemingly suicidal cops
haru: "gwet hiff op opp mii"
heusc: "transalation: get him off of me"
daisuke took action after that. he pulled matona off of haru and immediately socked him on the face
matona stumbled back but daisuke underestimated the time he would tske to recover and he tumbled back as the criminal retaliated with a punch of his own
daisuke dodged the assault but in the process, temporarily losing his posture. matona took this as an opportunity to continue his line of attacks, landing a few good hits on daisuke but majority of the time, he failed
daisuke recovered from the initial shock matona has inflicted him with and returned to momentum ane he was preparing his attack when bam - haru kato
my day be so fine then boom - haru kato
daisuke's eyes widened when haru, after standing up, tried to lock matona's arms to prevent him from moving anymore but instead, his chest met with an elbow
air was taken away from him and haru staggered backwards, clutching his chest and matona seized him
daisuke cursed and shot forward to help him but stopped when matona took haru's gun away from him and pointed it towards haru
matona: "stand back or i'll shoot"
haru raised his hands in surrender but daisuke did not
and haru was: ?????!!!!! tryna get me killed????!!!!
daisuke: "i can keep my promise, you know"
matona pointed the gun at daisuke
matona: "how can you when you're just a lowly cop?"
daisuke took out his cigar and lit up
daisuke: "yes, because a lowly cop can just buy buildings with a single command from an ai"
matona growled "rich, snobby, uncaring, and a liar. you're just the same like the people i killed"
daisuke opened his mouth to reply when a feminine voice cuts in
"finally, a confession. now we can get this over with"
before anyone could react appropriately, matona felt a hand take hold of his stolen gun and tore it away from his grasp before a heel sunk into his stomach, causing him to spit out blood
daisuke saw her, a woman standing with such grace, confidence, and strength with a gun in her hand and a smirk on her brims
daisuke couldn't move not from shock, but with admiration
who was this woman?
and what was this thudding in his chest
doki doki
his face was hot, very hot
and so was the woman
"( YOUR NAME )???"
daisuke turned and saw haru gawking at you
haru: (@[]@!!)
daisuke: (--)
also daisuke: is that really (your name)? haru's partner? haru's girlfriend?
daisuke: hmp hmp(`ー´)
you turned to both of them and daisuke was blown away with you that he nearly fell
he thinks you're very pretty
V E R Y
doki doki
you smiled widely at them: "haru, it's so nice to see you again" and then you turned to daisuke
daisuke froze and his cigar dropped
you glanced back at haru: "you already replaced me?"
haru: "tf no! rich boy here wanted to plays cops for a while so he went to our department. you know me, i could never replace you"
daisuke glared at haru
it waa obvious he was trying hard not to upset you (though you didn't look like the type who would get easily offended)
plus he's pushing a single and narrow minded narrative about him towards you. what if you hate him?
but you didn't and merely smiled at him, ignoring the criminal trembling from the pain of your kick
you: "my name is (your name)"
daisuke.exe has stopped working
jk that won't happen to daisuke
for now at least
daisuke: "kambe daisuke"
you, smiling: "nice to meet you, kambe daisuke!"
haru: "how did you find us here?"
you: "was gon get a drink before i head to the station but then i saw police tapes and stuff"
haru looked alarmed: "YOU WERE GOING TO DRINK RIGHT AFTER YOU GOT RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL"
you turned away from them, facing matona: "you can continue scolding me after we arrest this killer, haru. sorry in advance for haru, daisuke. he can be pretty overbearing and protective"
daisuke: "i can tell"
haru was offended okay?
you were already teaming up with daisuke to tease? betrayal.
haru: "how dare you (your name) - "
you did not let haru to finish his sentence and starter beating the shit out of matona like DAMN GHORL
daisuke and haru watched from a distance as you expertly used the gun to your advantage without pulling the trigger. you used the metal to hit him in fragile parts of his body in order to limit his movement
daisuke gawked at you
he has never seen such fluid execution for an arrest
daisuke looked: O-O
haru, seeing him, smugly crossed his arms and said: "you get to see how amazing (your name) is as a cop. she's my partner"
just as he said that, you pinned the criminal down on the ground, gun discarded, your one hand straining his arm behind his back and the other pinning his other hand on the ground
you: "i just got out of the hospital. how did i still win?"
daisuke suddenly frowned
oh, right. she's haru's girlfriend.
several minutes later, you successfully managed to arrest sakatoshi matona and the other detectives came to take him. but of course, you made sure you, daisuke, and haru were getting the recognition
like hell you were letting someone else get the glory for your efforts
you returned to daisuke and haru, smiling
they were talkiny when you hugged haru from behind
you: "haru i missed youuuu. it was lonely without your annoying butt looking out after me all the time"
haru flushed red
haru: "if you didn't catch the bullet for me then - "
you: "and let you get shot instead? nu uh, no way. i would take any bullet for you. right, daisuke?"
he felt speechless when you regarded him
daisuke didn't know what else to say to you so he said: "yes, i agree"
but somehow the the thought of you getting shot angered him
haru looked at daisuke, thinking: he acting kinda sus rn
you turned to haru and the two of you began catching up, smiling and laughing
you two looked comfortable so with each other. you two were carbon copies of one another, except you were ten times better, sorry haru
you two were made for each other
no wonder you're his girlfriend
you: "how's everyone in the precinct?"
haru: "still the same. everyone missed you"
daisuke: "are you two together?"
haru: 👁👄👁
you: *long ass laughing emoji*
haru turned very red, shouting: "WHERE DID YOU GET THAT IDEA"
daisuke: "you said you were partners - "
you: "i didn't know you liked me that way, haru - "
haru: "NO I DON'T KAMBE WAS JUST BEING A DUMBASS"
you tittered and turned to daisuke: "no, we're not together, kambe-san" you tucked a lock of hair behind your ear. "sorry if i scared you"
daisuke felt relief wash over him
daisuke: "i was just wondering. you and haru seemed very close so i was just making sure i wasn't misunderstanding"
daisuke froze with wide eyes when you leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek
and you whispered to him: "gotta work on being discreet when you look at me. i can practically see you chasing after me in the future with how you were looking at me. i'm flattered you find me that fascinating"
you turned to the shook haru: "i like this one, haru. we should bring him along with our cases"
you regarded them both: "anyways, i'll be heading over to the station first. i can write up the report and have man behind bars quickly. don't worry though, i'll make all three of us have the glory. i trust that you two can finish up here without me?"
the two men wanted to say something but both of them were stunned. you just kissed daisuke on the cheek and your best friend saw it. daisuke's eyes were wide and haru had his jaw dropping down
they still didn't say anything when you bid them farewell and just watched as you went to a police car with another cop where matona was and sped off

Chapter 3: Trivia
She closed the blinds and made sure for the fifth time the door was locked. Her breath caught in her throat and the fear and adrenaline that had rushed through her body made even Spencer Reid nervous.
"What's going on?"
"This is bad, I didn't realize the consequences of this until it was too late. I am so sorry I got you all tangled up in this mess."
"What are you talking about? What happened?"
"I-" She turned and took a peek through the blinds, ensuring there was no one around. "I did not think things through. I think it's best if you go home, that way you might be spared."
"You are seriously starting to make me nervous, please tell me what's going on, how can I help?"
"There is nothing you can do; I am basically a dead woman."
"Why? Who's after you?"
"Anna Hemingway."
"Your cousin is after you? Did she threaten you or something?"
"No, she didn't have to." She walked towards the bed and sat on the edge, still glancing every now and then, making sure the coast was clear.
After her and Spencer's victory, they had both decided to go to bed, and while the rest of her family insisted on having another dinner dedicated to the couple, they had both decided best to eat and head back to their cabin. He had finished first and decided to head back, and as soon as he was gone, the memory hit her making her mistake obvious. And the main reason she had resorted to a passive competition with the world's worst cousin was clear once again. In a hurry she had returned to their cabin, ensuring she was not being followed, and locked the door, startling the doctor.
"The last time I beat Anna at something was when I twelve. We were both auditioning for the same role in our school musical. They gave me the part." He smiled, truly excited for her accomplishment, as well as happy to learn this new fact about her. "Don't get too peppy. On opening night, at Grandma's celebration for the play, I fell down the stairs."
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"Because, Dr. Spencer Reid, as hard as it is to believe, me falling down the stairs was not due to my immense clumsiness."
"Wait, your cousin pushed you down the stairs?!" He exclaimed, truly horrified. How are children so cute and so evil at the same time?
"More like, she set her foot for me to trip on, but you get the idea." She glanced back at the door and then at the man in front of her. "I was lucky, I didn't break anything, but I have a feeling that might not be the case the next time. I also would prefer not to drown or anything like that."
"But we're federal agents, doing something to you or me would be unwise."
"You're speaking of the girl that tripped me down the stairs and thought that stealing my boyfriend and marrying him was wise."
"I'm gonna double-check the door is locked."
After hours of attempting to stay vigilant, her body had given in and she had fallen asleep. Although Spencer knew the danger, to him it was as simple as closing his eyes. She knew they were trained to deal with a lot of sick people, but he didn't understand the limits his cousin would go to destroy those who she felt wronged by. Although her main target had always been her, she once had basically ended a girl's life by getting her banned from pretty much any respectable college or job position because this one had made fun of her prom dress. Anna Hemingway was one to be cautious with, and they had both just embarrassed her in front of the people whose attention she had snatched years ago. It was worse than she realized.
"Spencer, Spencer." She spoke as she slightly moved him. He growled and moved away from her, attempting to continue his slumber. "Spencer."
"No, let me sleep." He complained.
"Spence, get up, please." After minutes of silence, she devised a new plan. "Spencer!" she screamed, making him jump, falling off the bed and landing between the edge of this first one and the door of the closet. "Oh good, you're awake."
He didn't say a word, for what seemed like centuries, and she wondered if screaming him awake was not the best decision, especially as her next request would not be something he would be inclined to.
"Sorry for that, I just needed you to wake up."
"Is there a fire I don't know about?"
"No, I just thought we could go for a run." There it was, the look Spencer had only given the unsubs he despised the most. She had earned it, but that didn't mean she liked it. "Sorry, I just, Nicole had to leave, and since I have a target on my back and there's safety in numbers... I also didn't want to leave you here alone, and vulnerable. I just felt like, despite your muscles, I am concerned you haven't yet mastered the use of your body."
"I will have you know that by all accounts I definitely know how to use my body. Quite effectively if I do say so myself, and others."
After his words, her mind went to a thought she never imagined having. She wondered if he meant it that way or she was just losing it. "Good, then you can come with me." That sentence following her thoughts was probably not ideal.
"No thank you, you can do it by yourself." She needed to change the direction her thoughts were going; they were definitely not helpful.
"Spencer, please. I am honestly a little terrified, and you should be too."
"Well, I'm not. She isn't worse than any unidentified subject we've dealt with before."
"Oh but she is. She's the worst type of unsub you could think of, but ten times worse."
"What's the worse she could do?"
"Let's not find out."
After whining from him and pleads by her, they both made their way out of the cabin. The shorts he had avoided yesterday were now covering almost nothing as they jogged. This was not a good reminder of their earlier conversation, so she simply focused on something easier: her cousin's imminent revenge. She thought it would come in the form of her accidentally pushing her into the lake, or a repeat of her falling down the stairs. She was even worried this time Spencer would be the victim since he had been the one to embarrass her. Her thoughts were interrupted by deep breaths and a yelp.
"Are you okay?"
"We've been running for hours, how dare you ask me such a question?"
She looked at her watch, "We've been running for exactly three and a half minutes. Actually, we haven't been running, more like jogging."
"How long do you usually do this for?"
"Depends on the day, but from thirty minutes to two hours."
"You need help."
"It won't be as bad, come on."
"You can go on, I am just gonna sit here and have a heart attack real quick."
"How on earth did you pass your physical?"
"I got it waved."
"Cheater."
"If it isn't it the 'it' couple of the weekend!" Suddenly the one having a heart attack was not Spencer, but her. "I didn't know you guys ran together, that's so cute!"
"Yeah, truly the reason I love her," Spencer said, a pinch of sarcasm in his voice.
"How adorable." It's coming, she could feel it. "Anyway, I was thinking, since love seems to be in the air this weekend, why don't we celebrate it by wrapping up the family retreat with a trivia night!"
"What does trivia have to do with love?" She regretted the words as soon as they came out, as Anna looked at her like she might as well be six feet under.
"Silly, the trivia would be about your significant other, of course!"
"Well, that's just-"
"Wonderful, I know!" The blonde smiled, delighted by her idea. "The family has already been briefed and they are all on board, I have started taking in questions and designed the cards, so we'll all meet around the campfire for dinner, and then we'll have trivia night!" She smiled brightly and began to leave, stopping by to appreciate Spencer's figure and palming his behind as she left.
"Did she just-?"
"Yes, yes she did."
"I need a shower."
After both had showered and changed they made their way to grandmas house, alert as to anyone following them. Most of her family had moved on from spying on them, but she knew Anna and Uncle Ernie were not that normal.
"So, what did your grandma do?"
"No one really knows, I mean it had to be good to make her so rich, but by the time my uncle Ernie was born, the eldest, she was already rich enough to sell whatever business she had and become a full-time parent."
"What about your grandpa?"
"He died before I was born."
"Oh."
They sat at the same table he had been at the day before; the chessboard was still in place. She began messing with the pieces, creating the game that always made her win, courtesy of her grandma.
"I didn't know you played."
"I too began at a very young age. I haven't really played since grandma died; she was my game partner. The only one that treated me like I was a human being." She sat down, remembering the hours she spent here when Nicole wasn't around, and everyone pretty much ignored her. "She was the only one that ever consoled me for losing my dad. Losing her was just one more box to check."
"I am sorry for your loss." He placed a hand on her shoulder and squeezed it gently, hoping to convey his sympathy.
"Yeah well, by how calm Anna looks right now I guess it won't be long before I join her, so we don't have to worry about that anymore."
He rolled his eyes, a smile tugging at his lips. "So, what should we expect during this trivia night?"
"To lose, that's our safest bet."
"I don't really do losing."
"And all I do is lose, so I will be your guide this time."
The family had made their way inside, their excitement overflowing the room. She couldn't help but wish she could simply run for the hills. She knew the chances of them winning were null, because a) she needed to lose and b) Spencer and her hadn't known each other, really known each other long enough to be able to answer these questions. She wondered if that was the plan all along, that Anna somehow had found out about their lie and was using this as a means to expose it.
"Okay everybody, let's get started." Said, uncle Ernie. He wore the same clothes as their first day here. "Let us start with the competition. Since we have the newlyweds as well as the new couple in the family, I think they should make the honors."
She looked at Spencer and he smiled at her, she leaned closed and whispered. "Remember, to ease the monster, we need to lose, which shouldn't be hard, we're not even a real couple, there is no way we know enough about each other, right?"
He nodded and they both moved to the sofa that was designated as their spot, her uncle who now apparently served as the show host, handed Spencer and Tyler a buzzer, explaining whichever sounded first would get to answer the question. She mentally prepared herself, hoping she could answer enough questions to not raise suspicion but not enough to win the game, what a grand world that would be.
"Ready everybody?" everyone cheered in approval and she prepared herself. "This round is for the guys, once we finish you will pass the buzzer to your partner and at the end, we will have one round where either of you can answer. Now, the first question, what is your partner's Starbucks order?"
Spencer's buzzer went off as Tyler attempted to recall the memory. "It depends on the season. During winter and for as long as she can get it, it will be a Grande Peppermint Hot Chocolate, during the summer it will be no-coffee Double chocolate chip cookie crumble Grande Frappuccino with extra whipped cream, and no straw." She looked at him completely taken aback by his answer, how specific it was, and the fact that he knew she was a seasonal drinks person.
"Yeah, that's it." She spoke.
"Point for team FBI!" Her uncle cheered. "Next question, what is your partner's favorite color?"
His buzzer went off and the doctor spoke again, "Blue."
Ten questions later the scoreboard was 8-2, Spencer's lead, and the two questions he hadn't answered were because he decided that would be enough to lose. She didn't understand how he knew these things, or the fact that she knew what her answer for him would be, but what she did know, was that she had to be really bad in order to allow Anna to take the lead back, what she wasn't sure about anymore, was whether she wanted to let her cousin win.
"Ladies, you're up." Spencer handed her the buzzer and she smiled at him. "First question, how does your partner drink his coffee."
"That's easy. He doesn't drink coffee." She said soon after her buzzer went off. "He drinks sugar with a side of coffee, no creamer. Eighty percent sugar, twenty percent coffee."
"That is so mean to say! But it's true." Spencer agreed.
"How are you a doctor and drink so much sugar?"
"Not that kind of doctor." He clarified to the man.
"I have no idea what that means! Next question, what is the thing your partner is most proud of?"
"His job. Spencer loves helping people and using his knowledge to reunite families, he's the bravest guy I know." She smiled at him and he returned the gesture.
It was no surprise Anna was not content with the results, as the end was a 23-4 in favor of Spencer and her. As soon as the game was finished she knew that she had basically carved her own grave.
"That is not fair, they are not even really dating!" Her cousin screamed, "it's all a lie!"
"What?"
"Yeah, I know your little secret, I overheard you and Nicole talking about how Spencer was not really your boyfriend and how he didn't actually have dyslexia!"
"I-" She didn't know what to say, how had she not seen her? How could she let this happen?
"First of all, I think it is very inconsiderate of you to suggest that my dyslexia is not real. I have fought so hard for such a long time to ensure my condition didn't prevent me from succeeding, going as far as getting a Ph.D. in mathematics, for someone to simply come and question my hard work." Spencer said, seemingly very upset. "Second of all, this woman right here is the best thing that ever happened to me, and I will not sit here and tolerate you calling her a liar. We are in love with each other, and you as her cousin should be happy about it. Yet you seem so upset about her finding someone, it seems to me you're jealous, but what do I know, it's not like I can understand human behavior or anything. Oh, wait." He said, he took her hand and pulled her as close to him as she could. "Just leave my girlfriend alone, you took her sloppy second and married him, so what more can you want from her?"
The room fell silent, everyone eyed Spencer and Anna, trying to grasp what had just happened. "You and I both know you're lying, you two are not a real couple, you are just trying to ruin this weekend for me."
"Really, not a real couple? Then how did we end up destroying you at trivia? You made the questions Anna, I had no idea what was on them, you did. And I am not the one wearing a wedding ring. So my question is, how do you marry someone without knowing their proudest moment, or their Starbucks order?"
"Well, how come no one has ever seen you two kiss? You can learn facts about each other but that doesn't really make you a couple."
"You want to see a kiss? Fine." She turned and pulled Spencer's lips to hers. She let herself enjoy the moment, really enjoy Spencer's kissing skills, not because she wanted to or anything, but rather because that is how she should kiss him, there was no way anyone would have any doubt about them if the kiss looked authentic. Which it did, it also might have felt a little more authentic than it should but now was no the time to dwell on that.
Spencer kissed her back, creating an atmosphere in which her cousin's word didn't matter any longer, in which the humiliation her family had put her through was nothing worth thinking of, and the fact that both of them had such deep knowledge about each other only fueled it, melting her a little in her spot, she felt his teeth on her lower lip applying slight pressure and she couldn't help but wish they were by themselves right then and there.
"We get it! You guys want to take your clothes off, now please stop." Tyler's voice echoed, and the two doctors left each other's lips reluctantly, looking at him. "Now, can we please move on?"
"No! Not until they admit they are not really dating, and all this was a plot to humiliate me!" Anna screamed.
"You know what? I am not going to stand here and tolerate this behavior any longer. Bitchy Anna, you can whine all you want, but that will not change that I am with a man I love, and that loves me. I have let this family make me feel like less for long enough and I am done doing so. You can all go fuck yourselves because I am done with each and every single one of you. You allowed this crazy brat to humiliate me and treat me like I was less for long enough. Let's go home, Spencer." She grabbed him by the hand and exited the house, giving her family the middle finger before she banged the door. She walked to their cabin and gathered her stuff, him following suit. As soon as they were in the car and far enough away, she pulled over and sighed, coming down from her adrenaline rush.
"In the wise words of Penelope Garcia, that was hot," Spencer said.
"What was?"
"Everything." They laughed for a couple of minutes, the scene she had just created replaying in her mind. "I am so proud of you."
"Why? Because I gave my uncle Ernie the middle finger?"
"Because you stood up for yourself."
"Yeah, well even if she was right, I tend to get a little too angry when people call me a liar or get in my way."
"Yeah, I know." He chuckled, "How did it go, oh yes, 'Nu-uh bruh, I know you didn't just interrupt me mid-sentence.' And then you commented how a man who wore sweaters in the middle of July was not going to cut you off."
"I am so sorry about that; I was just so used to being cut off I didn't want it to be a thing at work."
"It's okay, I understand. I began cutting people off because that's what most people did to me when I spoke."
"Well, that's dumb. I love hearing your facts, you have all this knowledge, and you chose to share it, people should be grateful for it."
"Thank you, I appreciate that." He smiled, "Speaking of facts, our chances of getting murdered will increase by the minute if we continue to sit on the side of the road."
"Right, forgot about that!" She turned the car back on. "Let's go home, Spencer." As his apartment complex became clear, she slowed down, making a stop right in front of it. "Thank you for coming with me this weekend, I really appreciate it."
"No problem, that's what friends are for." Before he moved to get out of the car, she planted a quick kiss on his cheek. "What was that for?"
"For being the best fake boyfriend and real friend a girl could ask for." She smiled at him, so grateful for his existence. "I will see you tomorrow morning at 5:45 am sharp. Goodnight Spencer."
"Goodnight. See you tomorrow." He opened the door and walked out, waving to her before he entered his building. She sat there for a couple of minutes, taking in the past weekend. She knew her mother wouldn't let her get away with her actions, but right now that didn't matter, Spencer Reid had told her he was proud of her, he had even used the term hot which in itself was hot because she never even imagined he used that type of vocabulary.
Regardless, she stood up for herself, she let Anna have it, and Spencer was proud of her. It seemed like a win-win. She drove home, a smile on her face.

-----
Dick watched as you laughed at something Brad said. He scoffed thinking what could have been so funny that had you laughing that hard. He drowned the rest of his whiskey before asking the bartender for a refill; he knew he was staring too much, but it was impossible for him to look away when you were having a good time in someone else's arms. He knew he shouldn't be upset about it, after all it was his fault that you two were no longer together, and boy he regretted that every single day.
"You're staring" Donna said sitting in the stool next to his best friend. She asked for another beer while awaiting Dick's answer. She thanked the bartender and took a sip of the beer while rolling her eyes. "You know, it's getting kind of creepy."
"Shut up" Dick said not tearing his gaze from the happy -disgusting- couple.
"You do know she still loves you right? But at least she had the guts so move on, unlike someone else" Donna mumbled the last part but loud enough for him to hear.
"Look, Donna. I love you, you're my best friend, but shut up.i know I fucked up okay? I know" Dick said drinking the whiskey, liking the burning sensation the liquid left on his throat. "And I know i don't deserve her, or her forgiveness. But seriously, that guy?" He asked looking back at how Brad.
"You really are stupid aren't you?" Donna asked in a serious tone.
Dick looked back at her not understanding what she's trying to convey.
"Jesus Christ, I mean what can I expect you're a man after all" she mocked him "do you really think that Y/n Is not waiting for you to make another move? Yes, she's with Brad now but it's because you're not with her! She loves you and even though you screw your chances with her, she's still waiting for you to come back. How blind you have to be not to see that?" Donna got up and went back to the group of friends that, unlike Dick, was actually having a good time.
Dick was astonished to hear her friend say that. He actually thought that after what he did, Y/n would hate him. But hearing Donna say that gave him hope. He couldn't stand seeing the girl he loved being touched and loved by someone else. He needed to do something. All the alcohol he consumed was not helping him think straight so instead of waiting to sober up a little he went looking for his girl.
Y/n was glued to Brad's side when Dick approached the group stumbling his way to the group, bumping into anyone that stood on his way to get you. When he finally reached the table he smile at Y/n which looked at him with confusion in her eyes.
"Heyy Y/n can I talk to you?" He slurred his words a little bit "in private" he added the last part quickly.
"Umm, sure" the girl said getting out of Brad's grip and followed the dark haired boy outside.
She rubbed her arms trying to preserve the heat from leaving her body, but San Francisco nights were cold as ice. They stood outside for a few minutes in silence before Dick spat the words to her.
"He's no good for you,you know?"
"What?" Y/n asked unsure of what he had said.
"Bryan, he's not good for you. You deserve better" he said not looking at her.
"It's Brad, and what do you know what's good for me?" Y/n scoffed. She was tired of Dick's entitlement.
"Because I know you Y/n! And I know you'd never go for someone like Brad" Dick answered quickly. "I know you're only doing this to make me jealous!"
Y/n laughed bitterly, trying to control herself, she really wanted to punch Dick, "Wow, so everything is always about you Grayson huh?"
"That's not what I meant" the boy tried to get closer to her buck she took a step back instead getting away from him.
"No, that's exactly what you mean. Drunk minds speak sober thoughts and all that bullshit right?" Y/n turned around to go back inside the bar, she stopped in her tracks without looking at Dick "Go home Dick, get some sleep and then maybe we can talk."
Dick cursed under his breath, tugging at his hair. He knew he screw up yet another opportunity to talk with you about what happened; the alcohol running through his veins evaporated when he saw the look on your face after he said those words to you. He sobered up immediately and even though you didn't shut him down completely,he still feel so stupid for trying to get you back while intoxicated. He was going to have to wait till tomorrow when, hopefully, his head would be in the right place.
---
Dick woke up when he hear Donna's - loud - voice; he groaned in response and hissed when the light hit his half open eyes.
"Rise and shine sweetheart" Donna said in a sing-song voice. "Ready to fuck things up again with Y/n? Or did you manage to grow some balls overnight that would help you talk to her,you know, like a normal person?" She said smirking at the hungover boy.
"Fuck off" he said grabbing a pillow and hiding his face on it, only for the object to be taken away by none other than his best friend.
"Oh I will fuck off, when you go and apologize to her. Seriously what were you thinking Dick? As if things weren't bad enough you managed to make them even worst" she said sitting next to him.
"I know okay, I will talk to her. Just...give me some time" he replied rubbing his throbbing temple.
"Not gonna happen. You're going to take a shower, have some coffee and you gonna get your ass in line and go talk to her, you hear me? I'm sick and tired of seeing you mope around because you're 'oh so sad because you can't be with her'.
You need to go and fix this, now."
Donna was right and Dick knew this, but he was afraid that you may not be willing to give a relationship another shot, and that terrified him.
He followed his friends advice and within an hour he was ready, and determined to get you back.
---
Ever since her and Dick broke up, Y/n decided that it was best to get her own place. Living in the tower was easy and y/n really enjoyed it,but waking up every day to see your ex boyfriend was not something she looked forward too.
So she decided to look for a place not too far from the tower in case of an emergency.
She cleaning some dishes that were in the sink from the night before when she heard a knock on the door. She wiped her hands with a towel and went to open the door. When she saw it was Dick she moved aside so he could get inside and sighed preparing herself for yet another argument.
"I'm sorry" he said first not wanting to beat around the bush any longer. "I was drunk last night and I know that's not an excuse for what I said but I'm really sorry Y/n"
The girl looked at his appearance and noticed the bags under his eyes and how dull his eyes were;it was weird seeing him so defeated, she hated to see him like this.
"I know Dick, but we've been having this type of conversation for weeks now. And I- I'm just tired of it ending in a fight where one of us always gets hurt" she said looking down, finding the rug under her feet quite interesting.
Dick took a step forward and when she didn't backed away, he smiled a little.
"Look at me" he said softly, lifting her face with a finger under her chin, looking over at her glossy eyes. "You deserved better than this, than me" he said.
"Don't you think I have some say in that?" She asked him grabbing his hand and caressing it with her thumb. "I know you want the best for me now and back then too,but you were, you are what's best for me Dick. I know it"
Dick realized he was crying when he wiped the tears with her fingers. He wasn't really the type to cry, but he felt so vulnerable under her gaze.
"I miss you, so much. And all those days without you were my reminder that there was something wrong" he said pulling her closer to his body so she could rest her head in his chest.
They stood there embracing each other, reminiscing about when they were in the exact same position but in a different situation, a much happier one.
"I love you Y/n. I have loved you ever since you set a foot in the tower. From the first time I have loved you and it scares the shit out of me how much you mean to me. I know I was unfair to leave you without explaining the reason, but I just couldn't keep lying to myself, so I needed to let you go, because alone was safer than with you. I needed to keep you away from me so I could keep you safe, and i know it's a bullshit reasoning but I have never loved anyone as much I love you. But I promise I'll be better if you take me again. I'm forever yours, whether you have me or not"
Y/n didn't answer instead she just hugged him. She was crying too. When she pulled away to dry her puffy eyes she smiled at the brown haired boy in front of her.
"I love you too Dick, so much" she bit her lip "i- i also told Brad that we would have never worked out" she said laughing a little "it was unfair for him to keep leading him on when I knew it was not going to work, so I won't be seeing him again."
"I'm sorry It didn't work" he said with honesty.
"No, you're not" she laughed a little louder this time making him laugh too.
"You're right" he looked down biting his lip not wanting to ruin the moment.
"So...do you think we could try again?"
Y/n smiled sweetly at the boy and brought a hand up to caress his face, dick leaned into her touch.
"I think we can, yes. But I'm gonna need some time, okay?"
"As much as you need" he said quickly. "I'm not going anywhere."
"Good, cause neither am I"

"I'm ( ___ ). I received a letter and came here."
▽ Simon
"You are ... a relative of the Lord."
▽ You
"I'm sorry I woke you up. Eric and I were looking for you, you see."
▽ Simon
"I see. I guess it took a while...."
Simon stood up and bowed.
▽ You
"What were you doing at the edge of the garden?"
Spending so much time with Eric, he must worried about me being in an unfindable place.
▽ Simon
"I was looking for a bird ... The blue bird cherished by the Lord has escaped. It's still young, so I'm worried..."
Simon's sad expression suggested he cherished the bird as well.
▽ Simon
"Looking for it exhausted me, so I thought I'd rest."
He must have searched pretty frantically if he had to rest like that.
I wondered what to do.
(A) Wait for its return in the garden
(B) Go back to the mansion for a bit
(C) Look for it together
(A) Wait for it's return in the garden
▽ You
"Let's wait for the little bird to come back to the garden."
I thought it would be better to be near the garden.
A small bird wouldn't have been able to fly that far.
▽ Simon
"Oh, that's a good idea. Would you wait there with me?"
▽ You
"Yes!"
We decided to sit under a tree and wait.
…………. ……………………. ……………………………….
Despite waiting a long time, there was no indication of the little bird's return..
▽ Simon
"It will be too late after dark so ... Let's go find it."
▽ You
"I agree."
I also obeyed Simon, who stood up anxiously.
(B) Go back to the mansion for a bit
▽ You
"Would you like to return to the mansion for a bit?"
He must have been looking for it before I came here. If he couldn't find it then, then it might be unlikely that we would find it now.
▽ You
"I'm sure it will be back soon."
That said, Simon's complexion changed.
▽ Simon
"You're sure……? Even though I'm not... If the Lord were to find out .."
There was a ghastly look on his now pale face.
▽ Simon
"Although, even if it is just a bird in this situation, for me it is irreplaceable."
▽ You
"I'm sorry. It doesn't mean that your intention ..".
▽ Simon
"It's fine. I'll search on my own."
Then he ran into the forest.
▽ You
"Please wait!"
I followed, but I lost sight of Simon. Not only that, I didn't even know how to get back.
I wandered aimlessly until completely all my strength was gone. My life was cut short in that forest.
BAD END
(C) Let's find it together
▽ You
"Let's find it together! Please let me help too."
Seeing Simons depressed expression, I couldn't help but say that.
▽ Simon
"...... Is that alright? That's encouraging. You're a kind one ( ___ ). "
Simon smiled happily.
▽ You
"Well, that's ... That's because you conveyed your feelings to me Simon."
▽ Simon
"I think I'll get along with you. Thank you for your warm consideration."
▽ You
"We'll definitely find it!"
We went back to the garden and looked for Eric, but there was no sight of him.
I wanted to report that Simon was found, but feeling the search for the little bird was the top priority, and we returned to the forest.
▽ You
"What kind of work do you do here in the mansion?"
I thought that having a conversation would make him feel better, so I tried asking a question I was curious about.
▽ Simon
"I take care of the animals that the Lord has brought back from all over the world."
▽ You
"That's pretty sweet. It's probably really hard though."
▽ Simon
"Yeah…… All of them are unique and adorable. If you treat them well they return the favor."
His shining eyes and passionate words conveyed his honest feelings.
▽ Simon
"It was in my care as well. That bird ... However, the door of the cage was broken."
▽ Simon
"I want to find it soon. I'm sure it's trembling from loneliness."
▽ You
"…… But we've come a long way."
A steep slope continued in front of me.
▽ Simon
"This is called Jigokuzaka ... It's that tough of a trail."
▽ You
"Jigokuzaka……. That sounds intense."
▽ Simon
"There is a hill with a good view at the end of the climb. I wonder if the bird would prefer such a high place.."
We looked at each other and made up our minds.
▽ Hugo
"What are you guys doing here?"
▽ You
"Hugo!"
Suddenly, he emerged from the bush behind him. He always seemed to be coming out of nowhere.
▽ Simon
"What a good time.. Will you take us to the top of this slope?"
▽ Hugo
"Oh, that's easy. Well, let's go."
▽ You
"Huh ...! ??"
Just like that, Simon and I were easily carried on both of Hugo's shoulders as he started running on the slope.
▽ You
"Aren't we heavy? I can walk on our own, so please let me down.. "
▽ Hugo
"No problem at all. This is far easier than my usual training."
I wondered what he usually did... I was curious about Hugo's daily life.
▽ Hugo
"More importantly, it would be bad if Simon collapsed. He doesn't have the strength."
We couldn't find the bird after we got to the top. After we were done searching, Hugo took us on his shoulders again and climbed down.
▽ Simon
"Thank you Hugo ... I'm grateful."
▽ Hugo
"Don`t worry. Well, I'm in the middle of patrolling, so I'm gonna head out."
Then Hugo disappeared into the bush again.
▽ Simon
"Next, let's look around the building. I had it in it's cage when we went on walks."
Relying on memory, we searched the area where it might return to.
▽ You
"……! !!"
Suddenly something glazed in front of me.
Looking at where the noise came from, I saw a sword stuck in the wall. Overwhelmed, I fell to my knees.
▽ Keith
"During training ... it slipped from ... my hand. I'm sorry. Are you hurt ...?"
Keith ran up to me while I was on the ground, reaching a hand out. .
▽ You
"I'm okay. A bit surprised but..."
It's scary to think that it would have hit me should the timing have not been a little off.
▽ Simon
"Keith is burdened by his role as guard... Training is necessary. Please forgive him."
▽ You
"Don't worry about it.. Nothing happened after all. More importantly, did you see a bluebird at all, Keith?"
I wanted information on any clues.
▽ Keith
"I have not ... You might find if you... get some bait ...from Eric ..."
▽ You
"That's a good idea!"
We went around the hall to find Eric.
▽ You
"There he is!"
Eric was looking for something in the wine cellar.
▽ Eric
"Ah……! Simon, you found me."
Seeming to be in a hurry, he put the vial he had in his hand in his pocket.
▽ Eric
"I was looking for wine to cook for dinner."
Although I felt something was wrong, the search for the small bird came first.
When we explained the situation, Eric gave us some bread crumbs.
▽ You
"We should definitely be able to find it with this."
▽ Simon
"I hope that will happen. Above all, it must be hungry. If we don't find it soon ..."
We headed out of the mansion again.
When we got out of the front door, we encountered Mika.
▽ Simon
"Mika, what good timing. Would you help me look for a bird?
▽ Mika
"Nope, as much as I would like to. I have to go to deliver letters from here on out."
▽ Simon
"If it's official orders then ... it can't be helped. That's a shame."
▽ Mika
"Jeez, are you really that depressed?!"
▽ Simon
"Your observation skills are keen and are very clever. Without your help I can't manage to motivate myself.
▽ Mika
"I guess that's so but ... That's it! Why don't you ask Virgil? I'm sure he's "free" at this time."
We found Virgil where Mika had told us he should be.
He was humming some song in a relaxed manner.
▽ You
"It's just as Mika said."
▽ Simon
"It seems so.. Virgil is skipping out while on duty."
▽ You
"Um ... I'm sorry to interrupt your break"
▽ Virgil
"Wha! What's that, are you implying I'm slacking off !??"
Surprised at our appearance, he jumped up, corrected his posture.
▽ Simon
"We're looking for a blue bird ..."
▽ Virgil
"That sounds grand! I'll help too! In exchange, can you keep what you saw before a secret?"
▽ Simon
"Okay, I won't tell the Lord. Then, do you have a plan?"
▽ Virgil
"It's darkest under the lamppost. The answer might be closer than we thought?"
Virgil looked outside the mansion while we decided to look inside the mansion.
▽ Simon
"It may have returned to the place it normally is."
With the idea in his head, Simon seemed to be walking with a purpose.
▽ Abel
"Where are you going in such a hurry?"
Abel called us and we stopped.
▽ You
"We're looking for a little bird that Simon is taking care of."
▽ Abel
"I see. I hope I can find it by dinner. You can't find it when it gets dark. "
▽ Simon
"…………."
To be honest, there was no guarantee that it would be found. Finding a bird that can fly around freely is a difficult task.
Perhaps he felt that, Simon closed his mouth.
▽ Abel
"Simon. ...... Believe, and give strength to your wish."
Abel grabs Simon's shoulder and speaks to inspire him.
▽ Abel
"Feelings surpass everything. Make the impossible possible!
The strong words touched our hearts like a spell.
We stopped in front of a room and opened the door.
Only an empty birdcage was there.
Let's give up already
I will do something
Be speechless
(A) Let's give up already
▽ You
"Let's give up already. It's impossible to find an escaped bird".
It's painful, but sometimes you have to face the reality.
▽ Simon
"No, that's not true……! There is no way I can give up"
His voice changed like he was a different person.
▽ Simon
"What do you know! This sadness, this pain ... "
My shoulders were strongly grasped and violently shaken.
▽ You
"Kya ……! !!"
I couldn't help but lose my balance to the momentum.
I hit my head hard on the desk holding the birdcage and fell to the floor.
A burning pain spread through my head. I couldn't even say a word, and it was pitch black in front of me.
I felt like I heard an eerie laugh in my consciousness.
BAD END
(B) I will do something
▽ ▽ You
I'll do something about it!
Before I noticed, the words had come out.. I didn't want to see Simon's sad face.
▽ Simon
"Really……?"
I didn't have a concrete solution, but if I didn't put my feelings forward then our hopes would be lost.
▽ You
"Yes……. I promise."
▽ Simon
"The power of Kotodama is strong. I wonder if your feelings will cause a miracle to happen."
When he spoke, he gently took my hand and smiled happily.
(C) (Be speechless)
▽ You
"…………."
I had no words.. I was overwhelmed by the hopeless reality.
▽ Simon
"It's only when you lose something that you realize its importance..."
Simon's sadness was immeasurable. The expression of despair was unbearable to see.
▽ You
"I will do whatever I can. So please ..."
I muttered, praying to heaven.
CONTINUE:
Time passed mercilessly, and the night fell.
Waiting for the morning to come, I vowed to search again and went to sleep.
