Several sentence Sunday

I was tagged by my darling @bidisasterevankinard and I wasn't going to post anything bc I haven't worked a lot on my wips this week, but now I'm posting out of spite to prove we're louder than hate

So this is mostly a fluffy outtake from Little Blobs! I don't know if it'll stay once I do the rewrite, but it was too precious to lose, so here you go! 🩷

“Buck, that is so wild” Chris says in wonder, and Buck chuckles, leaning back on the couch, happy to let the kid look and touch his bump. “Like, you're growing two people. Two people! How crazy is that? Does it feel crazy? Knowing they're living inside you? Are they moving yet?”

“Yeah, they started moving a few days ago, Jee was actually the first to feel it” Buck tells him. “But not a lot; they just move around sometimes”

“Wow” Chris marvels, his thumb gently rubbing circles in Buck's bump, and he can't explain how good it feels, that this kid he loves so much loves his children as well. “Do you think they'll move for me?”

“I don't know, Chris, they've been pretty quiet today” Buck answers truthfully, not wanting to make unfair promises to the kid. “But, hey, if they don't move for you today, they definitely will at some point, they're still… woah!”

Buck interrupts himself when he feels another one of those flutters he came to love in the last few days. It's clear Chris feels as well, because he smiles brightly at Buck, his eyes widened behind his glasses.

“Are they…?” He asks expectantly, and Buck nods, straightening up on the couch.

“Yeah” Buck answers, and there's another movement, a particular strong one, and he flinches a little.

“Does it hurt?” Chris asks, and he sounds worried, which warms Buck's heart.

“Nah. It's… different, but it doesn't hurt. They're saying hello to their big cousin” He says, nudging Chris’ shoulder, whose smile widens even more.

“That's so awesome, Buck. I can't believe you're gonna be a dad”

“Sometimes neither do I”

@dandelionfaggot Hey! I figured I'd make this its own post, since my reply was getting really long, lol.

A money bowl is a spell designed to draw money to the target. The idea is that you take a vessel (a bowl, most typically, hence the name) and fill it with herbs, stones, dollar bills, coins, and other things with the goal of attracting wealth. Some focus on just drawing in money, others emphasize the flow of money coming in and going out.

In my case, the targets are me and my partner, since we function as a household unit. My vessel is a small, green bowl filled with salt, basil, oregano, cinnamon, bay, and other money-related herbs. I also include a set of handwritten instructions for the spell, sealed with green wax. The exact construction of a money bowl depends on the practitioner's preferences.

So does the upkeep. I've made a lot of money bowls in the past with different casting methods and upkeep needs. This current iteration uses a tall, green taper candle stationed just behind the bowl. I burn it every day for at least 30 minutes, but sometimes longer, while I'm working. When I blow the candle out, I pick up the bowl and wave it through the smoke, too, to pick up any escaping energy.

I've done bowls that require burning a single candle at the new and full moons, ones that need just one candle at casting, ones that use little tealight candles, ones that just take pure energy, ones that require exchanging dollars/coins... Basically, the upkeep is recharging the spell's batteries and recasting it on a schedule (day before the full moon each month).

They're fairly simple spells to set up! I highly recommend them to beginners who are interested in money magic. The Witch of Wonderlust on YouTube has a great video on working a money bowl that's a really friendly guide on setting one up and taking care of it.
