#my writing#fanfic#rk1k#reed900#ao3#so I’m super good at chess strategy#fr tho my brother taught me when we were v small and that fucking bastard taught me the wrong set up???#like ok idk if he did this to troll me but I doubt it but also I’ve never asked him#but that fucker taught me the starting set up with the bishop and rook positions swapped#so literally every strategy I developed before playing anyone else was fucking useless in a real game#I mostly just gave up playing it bc I felt very stupid#but honestly how would I fucking know we played on my grandparents farm out in the middle of nowhere#no supervision#no one to stop this monster#anyway I think losing your queen is generally considered a bad move#no one will ever know#I can write a chess champion by being vague and confident mwahahaha#Connor has like fifteen kinds of anxiety this chapter but hey he doesn’t cry?
