NO BUT THAT FITS THEM PERFECTLY. They do deserve that soft final moment because have suffered more than they deserved. Both of them separately and then together, too. They deserve to not have to fight another battle again.

And they'll get that eventually.

I'm thinking about that in regards to the dsmp & the dteam (esp dream).

Because that server was built on love. It was built on the love the dteam and munchy had for each other. And then they opened their arms and extended that love to others and it took the internet by storm during late 2020/early 2021. and the fandom had so much love for that server—the animatics, the music, the fanart, the fics.

And the ccs. The ccs loved that server so damn much. They logged in so often, and even when they weren't doing lore they were having fun with each other. And, y'know, I get why those early 2021 dsmp fics would have all the ccs as being best friends. I get why there were fics where the dsmp creators would have a big meetup.

Because they cared about each other.

They genuinely cared about each other.

And it didn't change a single thing.

I'm thinking about the church prime stream, the dtqk+ streams, the karl jackbox streams. I'm thinking about early mcc and the training streams and how it was always so exciting to see who would be on a team together because we weren't scared of ccs being put on teams with people who hated them.

I'm thinking about q visiting george in the uk. I'm thinking about those early tmmy + wilbr + george meetup vlogs. I'm thinking about how excited tmmy & dream were for the primeboys meetup. I'm thinking about rnboo being excited to be on an mcc team w/ dream.

There are so many more small moments I could talk about. I'm sure so many of you could think of ones I don't even know about (as someone who joined the fandom in August-September of 2021).

Now, obviously, things are a mess. There are so many ccs who refuse to acknowledge the dsmp or are ashamed of their involvement of it. There are so so many ccs who will say the cruelest most vile thing about dream + dteam at the slightest chance for clout.

But they used to care about them. Some of them even used to love them. tmmy loved the dream team. q cared about the dream team. They might try to convince you otherwise. The fans will surely try to convince you otherwise. But they loved that server and they loved dream.

And it wasn't enough. It didn't change anything. They were too spineless, too selfish, too greedy for clout. They, for whatever reason, changed. They decided loving and/or caring about dream wasn't worth it anymore.

But they did. Just watch those old vods, those old videos. Listen to their laughter. Look at the shine in their eyes. They loved each other. And it didn't change anything in the end, but it matters, okay?

It didn't change a damn thing, but it was there, it existed, it was tangible, and that means something, okay?

Love will always mean something.

Jason has been writing fanfiction ever since he got access to a computer. They weren't always the most popular, especially since he was writing fics about classics, but that's not why he wrote them. He wrote them for himself.

However, since he always had Robin stuff going on, his author notes had become something of a meme at this point. No one really believed him anymore when he apologized for late updates due to breaking his arm in three places or anything like that.

Then, he died. He had been two chapters away from ending his story, damnit.

But it's fine, he's back now. He apologizes for late update since he, ya know, died and finishes that story. Then, he finds out there's another author out there with notes ... very similar to his own. And a lot of humor about his own death.

Maybe PhantomNotBill087 and him had a lot more in common than being fic writers.

y'know, the different factions of spn fandom on tumblr do fundamentally and vehemently disagree with each other about a lot of things, and many of the factions actively hate one another, but i just want to say for the record that i appreciate the fact that this site is not overrun with painfully hetero facebook fans. i just saw someone over there saying with their whole chest that they fully expected the finale to have dean meeting jo harvelle in heaven and them getting afterlife married, and someone else angrily responded that this was obviously never going to happen because clearly dean was still in love with lisa braeden who would therefore be his finale bride (i guess this person expected her to die in the finale somehow?), and then someone ELSE responded that they wouldn't want to see either of those things happen because they like to pretend dean is their boyfriend and it would feel like cheating(!!!!) if he ended up with one of them and they'd never be able to fantasize about him anymore. and all of these comments had over a dozen people agreeing with them.

you used to picture deep space like a thick membrane, or a blanket. someone said to you once the universe has no edge and that fucked with you for a long time, trying to picture what shape infinity has. your coworker is writing a short story about ecological collapse, which she is submitting for a little side-money so she can survive the current economical collapse.

instead, you wash out the peanut butter jar. you put the avocado-toothpick spiked seed ball into water (even though they never grow very far). you borrow what you do not want to buy. you pick up any litter you find. you do not have a lot of control, really. but where you do - if there is one thing you can do, you do it.

something about that. you need to believe that must be true for the rest of humanity. or maybe - you need to believe that to be true, or else there will not be a rest of humanity.
