no because I’m working two jobs and witnessing three different atrocities on instagram in my allotted ten minute lunch break on my twelve hour workday. I make mochas, americanos and lattes as infinitum and I get off work to find there’s been 40,000 civilian deaths in Gaza and international bodies reporting verified use of sexual violence as an act of war in Sudan. I do the monthly budget and work out how much i can afford donate but twenty pounds a month is nothing compared to what the government will take form my pay check to stamp the flag on RAF fighters running air surveillance for the IOF, on shell casings and mortar shells that will embed in the skulls and shins of children and rain death on people whose only crime has been wanting equal rights in the land they were born on and to be allowed to build their homes on it. i can’t afford to buy eggs and a boy with cerebral palsy called yazan starved to death yesterday. rishi sunak calls peace protests ‘too polarising’; every day is lived in extremis, but equality and equilateral peace are deemed extremism. starbucks ads beg that we start to buy a coffee again like if you enough syrups and the tang of complicity gets washed away. keir starmer has a fit of vapours about the vocabulary of calling for ceasefire instead of the unmitigated violence rained on palestinians. and they want my fucking vote in November???????
being working class & a minority and watching my government just not care about how much they’re fucking life for everyone from here to Gaza is just. goddamn.
