Anomaly Misfire
This is the fic add on to the edit I had posted previously to do with Bellarke. The Anomaly sends Bellamy back in time to Earth after Primfaya, what will happen when he sees Clarke? This is based on a gif set I saw on Tumblr lol its amazing and looks so real, I wish it were.
"It's been 58 days. By now, Monty should have the algae farm producing." Clarke speaks through a makeshift radio while eating a few berries she found in the valley. Compared to algae, berries were better. "How bad does it suck? No offense Monty." She stops speaking but only hears static. She never gets a reply to her calls. "And I found berries, a whole field of them! They're not very sweet, but they're beautiful. I think that's what they used to make the paint for-"
As Clarke speaks through the radio and turns her head aside to look at the paint on a house, an illuminating green swirl appears seemingly out of no where. A small crackle of lights move through before the green mist vanished, leaving behind something- or rather someone. She stands up from her chair and cautiously steps closer to the man left behind by the mysterious green swirl.
"Clarke?" He whispers with his hands out stretched, unsure how to proceed. Her hair is longer than it was at Sanctum, and from the looks of his surroundings he's back at Shadow Valley.
"Be-Bellamy?!" Her voice cracks a bit as she looks around unsure if she's hallucinating from the radiation and dehydration. She did just discover the valley not too long ago after all.
"Wher-uh... I'm back on Earth? How..." He looks around and walks but before he's aware, a pair of arms wrap around his torso, blonde hair now fills under his chin. He chuckles and embraces her back, but what he doesn't expect is her to panic and start dragging him to the rover. "Clarke? What are you-"
"We have to get you to Becca's lab before the radiation sets in and kills you! Bellamy..." She turns around to face him, worry etched in her face. "It hasn't been five years. Its not safe for you to be here."
He chuckles lightly and halts to a stop, confusing Clarke. She pulls him more but he continues to laugh.
"Bellamy!?"
He takes her hand in his and walks back to the table where she was sitting before he had appeared. He then notices the radio and sighs. Madi was right, she did call to him while he was in space. At this thought he looks around.
"Where's Madi?" Now Clarke is even more confused.
"Who's Madi?"
"Your daughter..."
His words barely process through her mind as they stand near each other. But as Bellamy sees the perplexed expression over Clarke's face, he realizes they haven't met yet. That is, if he's thinking correctly about where and when he is in time.
"Bell I don't have a-" But before she can finish her sentence, she stops and looks to her left. A child stands from a distance and watched them. "Oh my God..."
The little girl runs off and before Bellamy knows it, Clarke runs after her. "Clarke!" But its no use, she can't hear him.
With a huffed breath he runs after her. He catches up to her within moments, trees and branches hanging in his face as he tries to smack them away. Its been a long time since he's been on earth, when things actually made since then. Clarke shouts in Trigedasleng to grab the girls attention, but she keeps going further into the woods. Bellamy stops running when he sees Clarke stop, she's looking at a child with crazed hair from afar. That has to be Madi. He thinks. But in the blink of an eye she runs off again. Clarke doesn't hesitate to run after her and so Bellamy follows them with a roll of his eyes. How can a small child run this fast? Clarke is still ahead of him but her voice echoes through the trees.
"Wait! Are you alone? Are there others?" She stops running to look at her surrounds and stops when she sees the little girl staring at her on the trail. Clarke speaks in trig once more. She says, "You're a nightblood, right?"
Clarke steps forward cautiously, trying to talk down to the girl, but she doesn't move. Instead Clarke does and eventually steps into a bear trap. She screams out in pain from the metal piercing the skin of her leg. Bellamy hears and runs faster. The little girl attacks Clarke in the mean time, attempting to stab her with a knife. She avoid most of the blows but her arm is cut, leaving black to trickle down her arm.
"Clarke!" The valley girl looks up at Bellamy and runs in the opposite direction, but seeing as Clarke is screeching in agony, his main focus on her. Bellamy bends down and helps her out of the bear trap, then carries her back to the village, but not without  fight. He sets her down after a while and she limps into one of the houses.
She grabs her bag on the way to sitting down on a table, ripping her pants leg as she does so. Bellamy tries to help but isn't sure what to do. "Its okay, Bellamy. I-I got it." Her words come out in a stutter as she hurriedly grabs a thread and needle.  At first she hesitates, but proceeds to stitch up the gashes on her leg. The only thing Bellamy can do is sit and listen to her agonizing sounds. After she's done, she passes out from the pain, but not before Bellamy rushes to her side and catches her head.
Clarke stays unconscious for several hours, so long he starts to worry about her. He periodically checks the wound and takes the liberty of cleaning it up as much, and as gently, as he can. But after several more minutes of waiting, and dozing off himself, Clarke wakes and startles at the pain in her leg.
"Hey hey hey! Easy... don't hurt yourself." Clarke jumps slightly before remembering Bellamy's presence. It takes a few moments before she realizes he isn't burning from radiation.
"You're... you're okay?" Her arm reaches out to him, inspecting the skin on his neck, hands, and face.
"Me? Of course I'm fine. You're the one that stepped into a bear trap."
Clarke thinks for a moment as the memories flood back into her mind, but right now the tap isn't her main concern. "No, that's not- Bellamy... how are you still alive? The radiation levels aren't safe. And how did you even get back?"
"Uhh... well I can answer one question." He shrugs and smiles, though she's still unhappy with his answer. The glare from her face tells him that very thought, though it is also contorted in pain. "Abby injected us with nightblood before returning to Sanctum." But as he says this his eyes widen and he flinches. "Sorry I didn't mean to... I'm sorry."
"For what? And when did my mom make you a nightblood? You went off to space because the blood wasn't tested. I was the only one who took the syringe and injected myself." It was then he realized that Abby was still alive in the bunker. Clarke hadn't lost her yet. He feels like he should warn her, tell her whats coming, but then again who knows what will happen if he does. "And why are you looking at me like that? You still haven't answered my question of how you got here." Bellamy freezes and looks away from her.
"Look, Clarke, I don't know how I got here. One minute I'm in the Gabriel's tent holding Octavia after she's stabbed, then I'm taken by invisible people through the anomaly. I fought them off and I ended up falling and then landing here."
For several moments she sits quietly trying to process everything Bellamy has just said, and yet none of it makes sense to her. "What!?!? You were just in space with Monty, Raven, and the others. Octavia is still in the bunker and I have no idea who Gabriel is or what the 'Anomaly' is either. And what is Sanctum?"
"Uhh... shit."
"Bellamy?" She presses for more answers but he doesn't budge.
"It's complicated, okay?"
"Complicated." She echoes his words before trying to stand up. He asks what she's doing but shrugs it off. "You wouldn't understand. It's too complicated." She bites back, causing him to startle.
"Clarke come on. Its not easy to explain."
"Really? Then what is?" She turns to look at him over her shoulder and he freezes in place unsure what she means. Clarke scoffs at his confused look and sits facing him. "Bellamy we were born in space, sent to earth with no knowledge if it was inhabitable, then set up camp and fought a war with savages for land. Then Mount weather happened, I was on the run from literally very clan that existed only to be stuck in a worse situation fighting an AI and having to become a nightblood and fight off a whole city of innocent people. Then after almost dying I  find out the world was once again going to burn down into nothing, which left us having to choose and send hundreds of our own people to their deaths! Which left me one of the only people left on Earth above ground. But no, I wouldn't know complicated."
Bellamy inhales a deep breath and sighs, knowing everything she said is true. But what happens next is even worse than what they've faced before. Everything on earth were trial runs building up to Sanctum and the war raging on there.
"You really wanna know?" She gives him to look and he chuckles. Of course she wants to know. "Well, believe it or not I'm from the future."
"Future? Seriously?" He laughs at this and sits back in the chair he occupied before she woke up.
"Yeah. Seriously." Clarke looks at him through the moonlight and does realize he seems different, but she couldn't' think of how much time had changed since then. "Earth becomes uninhabitable within a matter of weeks after 6 years pass by. Once that happens we leave. Travel in our sleep to another planet where...things are the same as Earth. Trouble every where we go. We tried to be peaceful, civil even, but-" As Bellamy stops talking his voice cracks. The memory of figuring out Josephine taking over Clarke's body still haunts him.
"But what?" Her voice is soft and light, curious at why he stopped talking.
"They tried to kill you. I thought you were dead, Clarke." At this Clarke sits up straighter, trying to ignore searing pain in her lag as she does so. "To me and everyone else, you died and there was nothing we could do. There was nothing I could do! Peace was the goal and even though we tried to not.. to- dammit!"
"Bellamy..." She reaches out to him as he jumps from his chair and combs his hand through his hair. His mind fills back with the emotion, the dread, of thinking he had lost her forever.Clarke reaches out and touches his arm, grounding him back to reality.
"I tried, Clarke. I tried to keep the peace but... it didn't work out." he explains everything he could. From the mind drives, to nightblood and its connection, to Russel, Josephine, the Primes, and Sanctum. As well as the rebellion and the strange Anomaly that had taken Octavia back. Bellamy told her everything. As he does so, she sits back and groans from the pain. He reaches out to her but she says she's fine. "Clarke?"
"I-I don't know what to say to that, Bellamy. But now I understand why you apologized for mentioning my mom." He sighs and reaches out to her again, this time she accepts and holds his hand. "So all of this happens and what? We can't change anything can we?"
"I don't think we can."
Silence falls between them as the whirlwind of information is absorbed between them. For the rest of the night nothing else is said, they simply stay, hands together, and content on this moment.
For Clarke it has only been 58 days, but for Bellamy it has been over 70 years with a moment of content silence between them. A lingering, unsaid, feeling moving through the air. In his time living in space, Bellamy never thought he would end up with Echo, and yet he did. His mind says he cares for her, but his heart yearns for another, and still their relationship lingered on. But forces beyond his control tell him that its up to him to take fate in his own hands and be with the one he truly cared for-  the one he truly loved- and to do that was to atone for their past mistakes, if only to create a path for their future.

Most damaging to me, let myself turn Jason into a god in my head and nearly kill myself for it. As far as most immoral, probably be partially responsible for why my former best friend and her bf broke up because he wound up liking me because I was a dumb 12 y/o. What's your favorite candle scent? Probably coffee or cinnamon rolls. Do you take any medications daily? Yeah. What is your skin type? (oily, dry, etc) An annoying combo. What type of house do you live in? (big, small, etc) A small one. Are you going to change your last name when you get married? Yes, I hate my last name. Last person you called? Mom. Chocolate or rainbow sprinkles? I don't like sprinkles at all. The texture ruins treats. Who was the last person you cried in front of? Mom, I'm sure. Do you think vlogging in public is scary? I wouldn't say "scary," just incredibly awkward. You'd never see me do it. Would you want to be in a collab channel on YouTube? I don't even want to risk popularity, so no. Do you watch any collab channels? Which ones? Game Grumps and Sam & Colby, mainly. What colors have you dyed your hair, if any? Black, purple, and red. What is your gender and sexual orientation? Female and bisexual. Have you been to an escape room? Was it a success? No, but they seem REALLY fun. Ever performed on stage? Was it scary or amazing or both? Yeah, many times for dance. It was really neither for me. Have you ever recorded a cover of a song? No. Have you tried the Beyond or Impossible burger? Thoughts? No, but I want to, especially as I plan on returning to vegetarianism at one point. When was the last time you ate your all-time favorite candy? Oh wow, months. When was the last time you made friends with old enemies? Some time last year, Rachel and I reconnected. She's cool as hell now. When was the last time you took time to pray? It's been a long time. I don't believe it does anything. What is a movie that you heard about recently that you do NOT want to see? Is that "Cats" movie real or was the trailer a fever dream???? What do you do during long trips in the car? I just blare music. Best kind of music to dance to? And the worst kind of music to dance to? I really love "different" songs that warrant a modern sort of dance style. It was my favorite when I took dance, and it's by far my favorite to watch. Worst, I guess like, screamo. How would you dance???? Last candy you tried that you did not enjoy? Or one that you did enjoy? Oh my god. So I tried that new Reese's doughnut from Krispy Kreme today, and it. Was. Repulsive. A candy I actually liked, idk. I rarely ever have treats anymore. Were you a chubby or thin baby? I was normal. Have you ever not given a tip at a restaurant? Why didn’t you? N/A, y'all know my money situation. What is the most outrageous thing you’ve considered doing lately? Okay, I'll admit I at least briefly pondered the possibility of getting a nipple pierced after an eternity of saying I never would lmao. I'm not, tho. Have you ever known somebody who ran away? Most likely. What are your thoughts on Batman? I think it's cool he has that policy of never killing anyone, and he also doesn't have any actual powers, does he? I don't remember. The whole Batman universe (or comics for that matter) is one I don't really connect to anymore, as it was Jason's obsession, so it's a dangerous topic for me. When I say Dr. Seuss, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Green Eggs and Ham. I loooved that book as a kid. Rollercoasters that go upside down… yes please or no thank you? Hell to the motherfuckin no thanks. Is there a certain place or store you especially hate going to? Grocery stores. What was the last animal/pet that you met? There was a BEAUTIFUL standard poodle Mom and I briefly interacted with at the pet store a week or so back. Is there something in particular you always seem to forget? Straighten the shower curtain after I get out so it dries properly. When was the last time you had to wait in line for longer than a few minutes? *shrugs* Have you ever written a review for a product you bought online? No. What was the last board game you played? I think it was all the way back when Sara, Girt, and I played Scrabble.

A Rock & A Hard Place // Ray x Oliver x Reader (Pt. 2)
A/N: ahhhh this one gets real heated. pun intended but also it’s true lol. smut warning!!

Part One
The sun shining through your window woke you with a comfortable warmth to your cheeks. It was a bright day outside in the real world but you’d rather stay wrapped up in your sheets. The last few days had been mentally exhausting. Ray and Oliver were now locked in an endless battle to one-up the other. You wished you could say you were annoyed or upset by it, but truth be told you were living for it. For you it had nothing to do with the material items, the money spent; it was their enthusiasm and drive to prove themselves to you that had your heart fluttering. Rolling onto your side you glanced at the time, seeing you still had well over an hour before you needed to be out the door for work; no fake doctor was going to rescue you today.
Slowly you sat up and stretched, a soft sigh leaving you as your feet hit the floor finally. Upon standing though you heard the familiar sound of a sizzling stovetop. Rubbing your eyes you yawned, finally leaving the confides of your bedroom to investigate. Once you were in the hallway the sweet smell of pancakes hit your senses and your pace quickened to round the corner to your kitchen. Met by a bright and goofy grin, Ray stood shirtless over your stove flipping a treat with half a plate of them already finished. You couldn’t fight the grin that took over your face as you crept over and ducked under his arm to snuggle up to his bare chest. The taller male chuckled at the sudden contact but happily draped a free arm around your shoulders. “Good morning beautiful.” His words were soft and dripped into your ears with your head pressed against him. Instead of responding audibly you just gave him a gentle squeeze. You could hear the smile in his voice as he mindlessly rubbed your back. “I figured you couldn’t miss any more work, and I’ve watched you forget to eat and it leaves you pretty cranky.” He paused to flip a pancake, an action that obviously takes all focus. Turning his body and looking down at you he continued. “So, here I am.” His other arm wrapped around you to keep you as close as possible. A wide smile laid across your lips and you sighed blissfully at the man before you. He never ceased to amaze you, the depths of his mind and the way he always had you on it made your heart swell. Words finally come to your brain but your voice was still raspy with sleep, the tone poking at Ray’s ears a bit too suggestively. “And I’m so glad you’re here.” You placed a hand to his chest and lifted yourself onto your toes to give him a slow kiss.
Almost instantly he let his arms fall to your hips, deepening the kiss by curling into your touch. With the corners of your lips tugging into a playful smile you pivoted your feet so your back was against the counter, simply letting Ray tower over you and press his body against your own. In immediate response he let the spatula he’d been using clatter to the counter, his hands moving to lift you by the waist to plant you firmly on the surface. Usually his actions weren’t as forceful but today he wasted no time, and you didn’t mind one bit. Reattaching his lips to yours he brought one hand to the back of your neck, pulling you as close to his warm skin as he could. He wanted to know every inch of you, his free hand caressing from your side down to your thigh and back achingly slowly. It was your turn to let out an audible reaction, the sigh floating through your kiss and melting Ray’s inhibitions. Keeping his hand comfortably in the crook of your neck he trailed the opposite between your legs to barely graze your growing wetness through your thin sleep shorts. Another small but encouraging whine hit Ray’s lips and he groaned in response, his grip tightening ever so slightly while his tongue rolled against yours in attempt to distract you further. Your hand brushed his chiseled arms before resting on his bicep, the feeling of his toned body only worsening your current condition. The moment your hand braced him he took the fabric of your shorts between his fingers and pushed it aside before letting the pads of his fingers tease you. Involuntary your grip tightened and the male couldn’t help but smirk against your lips. With his tongue massaging your own, his fingers started working small circles against your clit.
Feeling the air leave your lungs with a heavy sigh your hips twitched into his hand. Instantly he kissed you harder, his movements faster now but keeping his lips and hand still in sync. Ray pressed firmly to your throbbing nerves, beginning to dart back and forth across it. A loud whine escaped you at the friction, and your nails just slightly dug into his skin on his arms. Just as you felt the familiar tightening below your stomach, a piercing alarm screeched through your apartment. Both of you broke from each other in a hast, looking to your right to find the culprit of your fire alarm: a charred and smoldering pancake still on your stove. A second later your laughter danced with the smoke through the air, Ray’s head falling to your shoulder defeatedly. Between fits of giggles you kissed his cheeks, only making him smile more. “I’m sorry, I-“ He started to apologize but you simply grabbed his face and gently squished it in your hands. “Shush.” The one word left your lips before he kissed you again. Not wanting to alert the fire department you reluctantly pulled back, humming softly before opening your eyes. “Breakfast first.” You stated while letting your hands fall to his bare chest, even though you weren’t exactly hungry for the food anymore. The raven haired man before you sighed dramatically and let his head tilt back a bit, insighting another fit of snickering from you. Finally hopping off the counter you turned around to begin setting the table.
Ray sat back and simply watched as you got yourself ready for work. All the while, he stayed shirtless making it incredibly hard to focus on anything else. Once you were done you lifted your hair into a loose pony and noticed as his eyes fell to your neck, faltering slightly. Noticing his gaze you turned to face him, frowning. “Something wrong?” Your voice broke him from his stare and he sighed, pursing his lips in thought before taking a large step towards you. Again his warm orbs locked in your neck and you finally remembered the week before; Oliver had bitten a bit too hard when trying to rile you up. The mark he’d made was surely still there and whether it was faint or not Ray could see it. Under the surface it made his blood want to boil, but he kept a cooler exterior. “Well we can’t have that..” His words were muffled while he darted to the opposite side of your neck, teeth immediately sinking into your skin as he started to suckle at your sensitive nerves. You gasped broadly at the sudden twinge of pain, but his strong arms found your waist and kept you close to him as he marked you for himself.
He let every jealous, burning thought of you with Oliver take over as he bit down harder, your breath hitching in your throat at his newfound roughness. Usually Ray was so soft and you were the one taking his words from his mind, but here you were completely speechless and knees shaking at his actions. Noticing your wobble he released his bite, opting to softly and lovingly kiss the skin he’d adorned with a dark purple bruise. The way his lips pressed to the stinging area made you draw in a deep breath, eyes fluttering closed just as he pulled away. You could feel his eyes on your face but you just stood there stunned for a few more seconds. Finally your eyes opened and he was standing before you beaming proudly at his work, holding out your concealer to you. “Might wanna add some of that, right there..” he teasingly pressed the tube to your neck and you winced a bit, but smiled when he leaned down to peck your lips.
Oliver was sure to rage when he saw the way the other man had claimed your body, marked his territory when just days before he had done the same. You knew you were in for it but the very thought made you clench your thighs as you went about your day. Even with the layers of makeup you still received side eyes from the few coworkers that moved about the room and past your desk. If strangers noticed you knew Oliver would zero in on it within seconds of seeing you. The idea both thrilled and somewhat frightened you. After all, the vigilante was known for vengeance. Feeling your phone buzz against your leg you pulled it from your pocket, Oliver’s name and picture showing he was calling. Quietly from behind your desk you answered. “Hey, you know I can’t have personal calls at work. Is everything okay?” From the other end of the phone you could hear him chuckle. “Everything’s fine, just wanted to let you know I took the liberty of cleaning your kitchen when I got here.” His voice is teasing and you realize he’s in your apartment, again. “Oh, uh, thank you..” your words are mumbled softly thinking of the mess you and Ray had left. Oliver gums softly before speaking again. “Well, I’ll be here when you get home. I have a surprise for you..” With that he hangs up before you can ask any of the questions that entered your mind. Setting your phone down you turn back to your computer when one of your coworkers stops in front of your desk, stifling a laugh. “Dating a vampire?” She asks with a wink, feeling your face glow at the mention of your neck. She simply walks off giggling leaving you to worry how Oliver will react when he sees the mark himself.
Once you got to your building, you sat in your car eyeing the hickey on your skin. You tried pulling your hair over it, your shirt, anything to hide it but nothing worked. Ray had made sure there was no hiding it. With a sigh you made your way upstairs to your apartment with nerves rustling your insides. The door was unlocked and Oliver was sat on your couch, rising to greet you when you walked in. In any last stitch effort to keep him from seeing it, you turned the opposite side to him when putting your purse and jacket down. “Hey,” you spoke softly, waiting for the imminent moment when he finally found the mark. For now though he smiled and kissed your cheek. “Hey gorgeous, I wanted to—“ he stopped and you knew it was coming. “Surprise you.” His body went rigid and the hand on your back moved to forcefully turn you to face him. Eyes darting directly to your neck his jaw clenched. He didn’t have to ask who, he knew. Seeing how dark it was he knew it was fresh too. The idea that the other man had his hands on you just today made Oliver’s blood scorch his veins. You looked down, chewing harshly at your bottom lip avoiding his eyes.
“Did you like it?” He finally spoke and his question paralyzed you. You didn’t move, didn’t speak, didn’t even look at him. Bringing his finger below your chin he forced your head up and the wild look in his eyes almost stopped your heart. “Did you?” He repeated himself with the same composure and you nodded softly unable to lie to him. With a growl he backed you against your front door, hand slamming next to your face. “Did you touch him like you do Master?” His voice was laced with jealousy now and your legs clenched. You simply shook your head no, but it wasn’t enough for him. Leaning down to your ear his voice was low and forceful. “Speak when you’re spoken to.” You gulped harshly before opening your mouth to speak. “N-No sir, I didn’t I promise..” For a second his lip twitched at the corner and you knew it made him feel better knowing Ray hadn’t felt your body wrapped around his, or your sweet lips. The idea sparked in Oliver’s mind and he let the wicked smirk grace his face now.
Leaning back from you he undid his belt, his pants following and dropping to his ankles. With blown out pupils he stared at your mouth. “Suck me off and we’ll discuss your punishment for being such a naughty little pet.” Immediately your knees buckled and you dropped onto them in front of Ollie, your hands pulling his boxers down to let his length slap his stomach. The feeling made the man before you seethe, his hand finding your hair and gripping harshly to make your head fall back and your mouth gape open. The moment your lips parted he moved himself into your mouth. With a small moan you began bobbing around his length with your tongue massaging him firmly. The archer groaned and his grip tightened, signaling you to go faster. Obeying his unspoken command you swirled your tongue against his tip as your mouth contoured around his shaft. “Good girl..” he growled out through gritted teeth. His member twitched in your mouth and you felt the warmth of precum dripping out of him. The feeling made your legs quiver knowing you were successfully pleasing him.
Again you worked your tongue skillfully against his head, the way his breath hitched in his throat gaining your gaze to wander back up his body. His eyes were screwed closed and he had his bottom lip between his teeth. The sight of him coming undone drove you wild. Letting a low hum vibrate against him you watched his eyes open to lock on yours. “Keep. Going.” He huffed out between breaths. With a surge of confidence you quickened your pace again, trailing a hand between your legs to play with yourself while you finished him. Oliver watched as your eyes fluttered closed and you twitched from your own touch, and a devilish idea pushed through his clouded thoughts. Silently he reached to the back of the couch where his phone sat. He braced the couch slightly as you swirled your tongue around his shaft. Quickly he pressed record and aimed his phone enough to see your every movement. The way your fingers circled your wetness, the way your lips glistened with saliva as you thrusted Oliver’s length in and out of your mouth. Seeing the new angle for himself was enough to send him over, he other hand pulling hard at your hair as he released his climax down your throat. With a whine you sucked off every drop of his cum, a bit of it spilling onto your lips and dripping down your chin. As you drank him up your fingers rubbed harshly to your throbbing core eliciting breathy moans past your lips. The sight was purely out of a porn clip, and it made Oliver groan as he ended the recording before your eyes opened. His hand left your hair as you stood, not bothering to wipe your face because you knew Oliver loved seeing you covered in his mess. The sandy haired male sighed contently and brought his lips to your forehead in a slow kiss. Eyeing your shaky frame he grinned. “Go shower.” He commanded with a softer tone now. With a nod you turned, scurrying off to clean yourself as Oliver waited, a smug smile on his face as his little plan formed in the back of his mind.
When you came back wrapped in a towel he smiled warmly up at you. “So, what was the surprise you had for me..?” You questioned as you settled next to him on your couch. His smile widened and he reached into his pocket, pulling out two white pieces of paper before explaining. “We’re going away this weekend.” He stated as he handed the plane tickets over for you to see yourself. Your eyes widened at the destination. “Spain? Oh my god Oliver, I don’t even have a passport, you’re insane..” you began rambling and the man took the papers from you to set them on your coffee table. “Only thing I’m insane over is you.” His eyes moved to your neck again briefly, the hickey Ray had left showing better now without the makeup it’d had on it. Bringing his gaze up to your eyes again he continued. “You deserve a break from the day to day. I wanna steal you away for a few days..” he paused and took your hand into his. “Come?” The final word came out softly but you still giggled at the implications, unable to stop yourself. “When have you ever had a problem getting mento do that?” You teased with a wink, seeing the way his face lit up before he crashed his lips to your own again.

Avengers: Endgame, a day later
What an absolute ride. My brain hurts though. It’s a lot to unpack and this post/review/scrutinisation turned into a bit of a mini-essay.
Spoilers are all below the cut and they are detailed spoilers for the whole film, just to warn everyone:
An emotional rollercoaster that despite us knowing that time travel would be involved still had its moments that kept me guessing as to what could happen, or how it could happen. I still felt the joy and intrigue during the ‘time-heist’ and a moment of piercing dread when Thanos picked up the fully-loaded infinity gauntlet for the second time.
I also loved how Endgame took the time to be immensely fun. Of course it had bleak moments, depressing moments, angry moments, but damn did it make me laugh. Korg, Frigga, OG Hulk, Loki... their presence, however short-lived or ultimately unfulfilling, was like a soothing balm for the soul and reminded us why we fell in love with these guys the first time around. How much charisma and charm can Tom Hiddleston fit into about a minute of screen time of Loki, also without speaking for most of it? A lot. He is on form as always and I’m glad for it.
Infinity War was of a much darker tone, I feel, and I very much enjoy the parts of Endgame that made me feel like we were in the original Avengers again (I mean aside from the actual time travel portions), recapturing some of that joy and excitement and most importantly hope that was a constant comforting presence in the first title.
The emotional beats with Clint and his family, Scott and Cassie and Tony and Morgan (and Howard) also in particular gave the film much needed time to breathe after Infinity War’s ‘GO GO GO crank everything to 11!’ pace, and were for me at least among the most heartfelt moments.
I actually don’t have too much to say about Thor and Bruce, honestly. They were entertaining, I liked them, it was a bit of a shame we didn’t get more of Hulk and that Thor was made to be the butt of a joke for most of the film, but they both got pretty satisfying conclusions at least. I hope Thor shaves and gets a haircut though, I’m not digging the Volstagg look on him.
One sticking point for me was that Thor doesn’t even say Loki’s name once, not even to joke about him in the past or even glance at him in his cell on Asgard and this did slightly annoy me throughout the film, but I’m not overly torn up about it. Maybe they didn’t want to overdo the fact that in most of his films, Thor is grieving for Loki one way or another - we get it, he misses his brother. In the overall very long list of ways in which Loki’s character has gotten shafted in the MCU, this is one of the lesser things.
At least Thor got to say goodbye to Frigga this time, and I couldn’t help but also be lifted (just as Thor was) by her words, As I mentioned before, this was one of those times during the film that I got to be filled with hope.
The supporting cast were also great, and I’m kinda happy that they didn’t give Captain Marvel a bigger role, along with a decent excuse for her not being there most of the time. I was worried that being a new character with an upcoming franchise, she would be made to outshine the others in Endgame and they didn’t do that. Keeping most of the focus on the original six made Endgame more of a satisfying conclusion to their stories, with just hints of what will happen now for everyone else. Point to Marvel.
Onto fatalities:
So let’s start with the big one, Tony Stark. Iron Man was the first MCU film I watched and he’s been my favourite character (aside Loki) throughout the series. The world is a slightly duller place without him, but whilst it was undeniably upsetting and many tears were shed in the cinema and now while I’m writing this, it didn’t have the sour taste that Loki’s demise left me with.
Because if you’re going to have to go, you might as well save the entire universe in the process.
As we passed over all the characters standing at Tony’s funeral, I was sad, but not enraged. I was struck with this sense of ‘none of them would be here without Tony’ and it left me feeling just bittersweet about the whole thing. And after a few minutes when Happy asks Morgan if she’s okay and she says she is, I know that the characters, and myself, and everyone else will be too.
Of course we will be.
What a wonderful, hopeful ending.
I was pretty satisfied with Natasha’s end also, to be honest. I didn’t always love her presence in past films, but I can appreciate that her story in the MCU has been all about trying to do what she thinks is right, even if it sometimes means going against allies. Her sacrifice is an act of love, and hope. It’s not done out of guilt, she’s not trying to make up for past mistakes, it’s not framed as punishment - she’s just doing what she can to ensure that everyone else, especially Clint, has the chance to carry on - just like Tony does. So, like Tony, I’m more bittersweet about it than angry.
Loki on the other hand died brutally and needlessly - that whole opening scene in Infinity War caused so much controversy on how odd, cryptic, out of character and poorly edited it was that a lot of people straight up assumed that there just had to be more going on, there’s no way such accomplished filmmakers could be so sloppy! But like the other inconsistencies in Infinity War, Endgame offers no answers other than yep, the filmmakers really are that sloppy.
So with the major deaths out of the way, onto some bad stuff. This film is excellent to watch don’t get me wrong, just don’t start thinking about the time travel implications for more than 5 minutes. Because whilst the film takes the time to establish its own (confusing) set of rules for time travel, it then proceeds to play pretty fast and loose with those same rules.
Yes I’m going to complain about the timey-wimey stuff.
It’s a shame that the film that takes such care in adding in so many references to the past films, would take such liberties in other areas. I joked with my friend that i’d need a diagram to work it out so that it makes sense, and that has not changed so if anyone here can explain it, please let me know because I’m not a scientist, time travel or sci-fi expert and I can’t wrap my head around it.
By the logic that Gamora is alive in the 2023 present and her death has been effectively erased, so must Loki’s, Heimdal’s and the other Asgardians’ deaths be erased. Gamora cannot simultaneously be sacrificed for the soul stone but not exist in the timeline that led her there. Despite the film telling us the past can’t be changed, it seems that past versions of characters can change their own future, but then also have that alternate future have no bearing on the original timeline.
Using that logic Natasha and Tony could simply be brought in from an earlier time. No one ever need die again because they can just be brought forward from the past without consequence to the current timeline. Maybe this will come up in the future again, maybe we’ll learn that taking people out of their timelines has severe personal consequences as they start to remember multiple lives and states of being, a bit like Nebula, which would then give a solid enough reason as to why people shouldn’t just be brought back and could inform the plot of Gamora’s new existence in GOTG3, along with Loki’s TV series next year.
It still wouldn’t explain how Steve manages to pull this off without any consequences to himself and the fact that he lives in parallel to another Steve Rogers, but it would be something I guess? Even so, by going back to what appears to be the 40s/50s and staying there, Steve has also changed Peggy’s timeline (that’s one of those rules broken), and it would be a bit too dark for Marvel to link up Peggy’s eventual alzheimer’s with the fact that she has effectively led two separate lives, one with Steve and one with her husband and children - unless they’re gonna tell us that Peggy left her husband to be with Steve?? And are you telling me that Steve would sit back and not tell Peggy about HYDRA? Or help to free Bucky sooner?
Also Steve must have re-infected Jane with the Aether. Nice one Steve. And this putting the stones back where they came from would have also meant having to avoid the time-heist troupe, lest they see Steve again and figure out they must have won.
Idk I’m thinking about this too much.
The Thanos who is killed at the end of Endgame (... ha) is the Thanos from 2014. He leaves his original timeline and doesn’t return (unlike the Infinity stones) so how is any of what he did between 2014 and 2018 possible? Is the film trying to tell me that Thanos can jump from 2014 to 2023 and be killed but somehow also exist up until he is killed by Thor one month after the snap in 2018?
The film tells us the past can’t be changed when clearly it can. Or is it that the past can be changed but it won’t affect the present?
BUT HOW?
Have multiple timelines been created or not? It’s suggested that by returning the stones, the new timeline that was created by removing them in the first place would no longer exist, reverting everything back to how it was. In Loki’s case, as much as it pains me to say it, as soon as Tony and Steve go back to 1970 for the Tesseract, the alternate timeline Loki made by taking it in 2012 would be essentially overwritten, reverting everything back to how it was before.
There’s a whole lot of maybe’s and what if’s circling around and I hate padding this post with ‘lol idk what’s going on’ but I went into Endgame expecting some answers but ended up just getting more questions.
Apparently the upcoming TV shows have close ties to Endgame, and how cool would it be to see a Loki series in which his 2012 tesseract-wielding-self grapples with knowledge of his own future and plans accordingly until he catches up to the present day?? Watching as this powerful agent of chaos takes a steaming dump on time itself by refusing to stay dead or be erased from existence.
Something tells me though *cough*Marvel’s track record with Loki*cough* that this route will not be taken.
GOTG3 will at least, hopefully, help towards sorting out this time travel mess.
So, ultimately, is Avengers: Endgame a satisfying conclusion to the series? Kinda. Just don’t try to sort out the timelines. There’s more to come yet for a good while, and maybe (there’s that maybe again) we’ll still get the answers we seek.
....
Bonus: I’m reaching higher than the moon here but until told otherwise, the ‘clink clink’ noise at the end is totally Loki getting his handcuffs removed.

Dun-Dun-Dunnn
December 4
I saw the right hook coming at me out of nowhere. I was shocked, I just didn’t expect it. What followed was a series of follow up punches and hits. I’ve forgotten what kind. I guess I just couldn’t believe he felt he had a right to strike me, albeit so violently. When he got tired, due to his age, he picked up a stick, the broomstick that was being used earlier. That stick was swung and struck my body, my arms, my head, my back. It pressed into my flesh, leaving dents but no pain. My body only registered the sting of the first contact. I did not feel pain but a hefty bellowing scream was released. I screamed in agonizing frustration. I screamed because my 21-year-old body was being physically pushed back and down by an assault. I was meant to cower. I was meant to cry, to yield, back down. Instead, I grit my teeth, clenched my jaw and got louder. Staring right at my mother who had called for this. She had made the call for me to get physically disciplined the way daughters are meant to get from their fathers. I looked at my mother who stood a couple of feet away, calling in feeble protest for him to stop, saying I’ve had enough I suppose. She had called him right after I told her that I was going to take a taxi and go to Baghdad. I told her I was going to the Embassy to get a temporary travel document, one that I was assured by consular officials via email that I could get within 48 hours of a meeting.  She asked me questions about my intentions if I actually was able to pull that off and get the document, once I returned, would I go to Mexico? Would I still pursue the plan to go on exchange there? What she didn’t do was show any interest in looking into this promised document that would allow us to leave this country without passports. She didn’t say “Okay Huda, wow that’s great that you have that meeting, of course, you can’t go without us so let's go together.” I was planning on insisting against that if it happened but it never came. She had no interest. She had re-tied the knot with this fucking animal. She had recommitted to being his wife again, his responsibility. His property. And for what? Apparently, for our future.
I looked at her and told her that the difference between her and I, was that I would never sell my freedom for money. Of course, someone in that position would never admit to themselves that was the case.
I was outside, standing in the porch walking towards the door in one moment, the next, I was physically holding myself together while I told my mother over an over, “you think you can hit me into submission?” Without knowing it I had been beaten back into the house. I stood in the room feet apart, angered, enraged, and bewildered. I never took my eyes off my mother. She stood there telling me this was all my doing. I did this, I caused this. He stood in the doorway, making a show of being held back by the other men of the house. He yelled, “Go get the gun”, the way you would demand to no one, in particular, to go get the phone so you could call the cops, or go get the lighter so you can burn whoever’s being naughty. He was trying to scare me into submission, the way you would scare a misbehaving child who might be throwing a tantrum. I looked straight at him and yelled: “Get the gun and kill me now!” I stood there looking into his eyes daring him to follow out his threat. He exited.
Thinking about it now, I’m reminded of something a certain someone said long ago. “Give me liberty or give me death”. Which is exactly the way I was feeling? Like I was carrying a pedestal on my back. One that housed my burning need to feel free again. To feel in control and be let go. Cut free from the braided knots that held me firmly against my mothers bosom. Or to die trying to free myself. For the first time since arriving in this country, I realized that I was exactly the kind of girl that would get killed in an honor killing and my mother had officially put herself in the category that might allow such a thing to happen to her daughter. Or at least she wouldn’t realize it until it was too late. I also realized that it was possible that I would never leave this country and sooner rather than later… I might die. It was a strange feeling that launched something into my throat. I briefly wondered what the authorities, both the government and the tribal authorities would do or not do in the case of a girl murdered by her own ‘walid’. ‘Father’. I can’t imagine such a thing is legally overlooked, surely it is against the official law of this land. But with the obvious corruption within the government and the way the tribes clearly outrank police officers on these streets, I could see it. I could see my body being dropped in the river. My life being nothing but a friend who went on vacation and never came back. A niece and granddaughter who went to live abroad and just lost touch. A student who went ‘back home’ and didn’t come back to pay off her student loans. An abandoned facebook account, twitter, briefly started blog. A blog that might never see these pages, might never know my story, may never know the truth. Who I am, what I believe, It’s all I’ve ever had, my values and my way. I was going to carve my life from it, pave my path, do the work that I know needs to be done. Now, I’ve been reduced to a prisoner, with no internet, no phone, just an ability to write what may never be read. Pour myself out onto this white page. Hope that one day people will know of me, my story is read, maybe one day affect change in someone’s life or situation. Teach something, help someone, inspire survival and the never-ending fight for freedom. I’m not trying to sound conceded or self-important… lol. But yeah.
Later I felt what I thought was a grain of sand in my mouth. I spit out the small white object out, not sure what it was. After a while, I began feeling my bottom front teeth tugging at the tip of my tongue the way a small hook would threaten to tear at the skin of a finger. I grabbed my compact mirror and realized what the white stuff was. Somewhere along the way, likely when I got punched in the face, I must have ground my teeth and caused the tip of the bottom front ones to be grated off. I also found white gooey residue on my tinge which I guessed was related to the tooth enamel. The tips were now threatening to pierce me so I grabbed a nail file and tried to file the sharpness away. Unfortunately, nothing was quite doing the trick, maybe I couldn’t get the right angle.
What have I learned from this experience? You may not feel the pain at the moment, but you will find the bruises and feel the soreness and scrapes later. I already have fibromyalgia that keeps my upper back permanently inflamed, now they’re bruised too, increasing the pain and sensitivity. Wonderful. I definitely won’t be laying on my back again any time soon.

Time to recalibrate. I walked straight into the ‘bedroom’, put my bags down and opened them up. I couldn’t risk them making the decision to take my IDs, ticket info, papers, my money, or my remaining electronics. I took out my coin purse with my money, my printed plane ticket info, and my credit cards and IDs and I put them in my pocket. Then I took my laptop and my notebook out of the bags and hid them in the corner behind my carry on. I locked the door and took the time to process my situation. I couldn’t spare any tears for getting beaten, but I did feel the impact of the situation and what it meant for my future, my fate. Attempting to escape had just become 300% more scary and dangerous. It didn’t mean I wasn’t going to do it again, only that I needed more courage than before. And I needed to be smarter. I know now than an honest straightforward walkout is not an option anymore. I also know that they’re going to continue locking all the doors, including the kitchen door that leads to outside so that's not an option anymore. I also know when I walk out that door, they’ll all continue to be watching and spying on me to make sure I don’t try to leave again. All eyes are on me, daytime escape is out of the question. In fact, with this new intense atmosphere, I’m going to need to wait a while for things to calm down and guards to start dropping before I try anything again. At night, the room I have to walk through contains the grandmother and grandfather, but sometimes their sons as well. So 2-4 people who can clearly hear the huge front door being dragged open and closed. I need a better plan than just sneaking out. Luckily, the bathroom is located outside. Ding, ding. I’ll fake a shower. I’ll have to take a long ass middle of the night shower prior to set the standard, a few days before. So they see that it’s not out of the ordinary and don’t suspect anything. Set a precedent. I will walk out in my abaya, a small bag containing only the things I’ve just hidden away, the things I consider absolutely essential. The bag will have to be very discreet and invisible behind the towel and toiletry bag I’ll be holding. I’ll walk into the bathroom and turn on the shower. I’ll wait a few minutes then sneak out to make sure no one walking around or waiting for me right outside. Once I confirm the coast is clear, I will step out, using a coin I will lock the door from the outside. After that, I will briskly collect whatever buckets or pots I see loitering their tiny lawn, stack them, and climb over the wall. I’m confident I can get over using what I see laying around. The problem is what I’ll do after I get over the wall. It will be night time, pitch black. No way I’m going straight for a taxi, even if there are any taxis at that time of night, I wouldn’t trust them. Plus, as soon as they notice I’ve spent too long in the shower and break in to find me gone, they will be out looking for their stray. They will call in favors and spread the word I’m sure. I will need to lay low, basically, hide. I might look for an outhouse to hide out in, but I don’t even know where to find one of those. I just haven’t seen enough of this village to know spots or places to go. In other words, it was another unknown factor. I hate unknown factors and uncertainty. If I manage to find any begging women sleeping on the street or even if I find them during the day, I plan on joining them and thereby hiding in plain sight. Which will also be risky but I’m hoping to cover my face with my scarf will keep me from being identified. I don’t plan on waiting too long, perhaps 15 hours max, before I make my move and try to catch a cab to the city. Whenever it’s busiest I suppose, I’ll just have to cross that bridge when I get to it.
