when I tell you that I NEED a three piece suit
#how else am I gonna show up at a wedding or something#surely not in a dress#or worse in a SKIRT#I'm not even remotely male presenting I just that male formal wear is on another plane of existence#unless it's boring of course. like get black two pieces with a red tie AWAY from me#but even then I'd really rather wear that than a skirt#which is very unfortunate because it's hard to find stuff that isn't boring AND fits me at the same time#someday I'll learn how to sew and it will be the end#like picture a forest green suit with golden buttons#or a burgundy suit with golden embroidery#yes I love gold#I also think that we should bring back older menswear#like cravats. god#anyway rambling is over but I have to go to an event I don't wanna be at and my options are limited#especially because my grandma wants me to wear a dress. send help#whatever im probably gonna go for the priest dress as usual

let me love you down
You’re a former idol trainee turned fashion designer, called back by the company to dress one of their groups for their next comeback. You assume it’s for one of their girl groups, but you’re surprised to see it’s for one of their boy groups. That’s when you meet him again, the one who’d had a crush on you when you were both trainees, except now, he’s no longer the cute boy with dimples. He’s a man now, and he’s determined to prove it to you.
Pairing: idol!jaehyun x noona!reader
Genre: smut (18+ only)
Warnings: noona kink (reader is a few years older than Jaehyun), nipple play, fingering, sex in front of a mirror, unprotected sex, rough sex, oral sex (m. receiving), dirty talk, swearing
Word count: 3.5k
Taglist: @jaehyunnie77 @mrg-jjh (send me a message if you want to be tagged in future fics)
A/N: purely self-indulgent haha
You walked the halls of the familiar building, memories of your trainee days coming back to you, both pleasant and not so pleasant. You smiled as you passed the practice rooms, remembering the endless hours of dancing you’d done in them, as well as the hours of sitting around and gossiping with the other trainees. You didn’t miss the grueling regimen, but you did miss the friendships you’d made along the way.
“Y/N!” One of those trainee friends, now turned idol, ran towards you now with arms outstretched.
“Irene!” you squealed, as you both wrapped your arms around each other for a tight hug.
“I heard you were coming today! It’s so nice to see you!” Irene wrapped an arm around your waist, looking you up and down, “and you look fantastic!”
You beamed at her praise, twirling around so she could see your outfit for the day, which you had designed.
“So, is it your group I’m dressing for the comeback?” you asked, thinking it made the most sense, as your style fit their concept the best.
“Nope,” Irene shrugged, “you’re in there.” She pointed towards a meeting room at the end of the hall.
“Oh, okay.” You were confused, but hugged Irene goodbye and promised to keep in touch. When you opened the door to the meeting room you were surprised to see the members of one of the company’s boy groups, along with their managers.
The concept was explained to you and you understood why they had called you in, and you were excited to work on something new, not having designed menswear before. As you listened to the pitch and took notes, you couldn’t help but feel a certain pair of eyes on you much more than the others. You remembered training with most of them, but they had been a whole lot younger back then, and you, being one of the older trainees, didn’t spend too much time around them. Out of curiosity you finally turned to them, studying their faces, until you came to the one who had been giving you looks.
He held your gaze for a moment, smiling, before he turned away shyly. You remembered him for sure, you could never forget those dimples. He had been the one that all the girls said had a crush on you, and teased you mercilessly about it. You smiled at the memory, and at the fact he had grown up well, the pudgy face of early adolescence transformed into the sharp cheekbones and jawline that made him the well-earned visual of his group.
With the meeting over each member came up to you and re-introduced themselves, asking you if you remembered them, talking all at once, bringing up stories and memories, some you remembered, some you didn't. Jaehyun, the one who’d had a crush on you back then, stood back a bit from the other members, just watching you with a shy smile on his face.
“And you remember Jaehyun, don’t you, noona?” Johnny suddenly said, pushing Jaehyun forward so he stood right in front of you. The other members snickered, apparently his little crush was well known amongst them as well.
“Of course,” you said, smiling at him, “it’s nice to see you again, Jaehyun.”
Flustered, he didn’t know whether to bow or shake your hand, so he settled on both, bending slightly towards you with his hand outstretched. You took his hand and shook it, noticing how cold and clammy it was. His ears were also a bright red, and he was aware of it, once you took your hand away he couldn’t help but touch them nervously with his hand.
“It’s nice to see you too, noona,” he said, and you couldn’t help but notice how much deeper his voice had gotten. He really did grow up well, you thought.
“I’m really looking forward to working with all of you,” you addressed them all, wanting to break the awkward atmosphere that had settled. There was a chorus of cheers, the members clearly happy about working with you as well. “I am going to need a couple of you to come by my studio tomorrow to do an initial fitting though.”
As the leader it was Taeyong’s job to assign people, so he looked around at each member. You noticed that Jaehyun looked at him hopefully. “Um, I think Haechan should be available, and…” he looked around again, and Jaehyun actually stepped up to him with his hand raised, “okay, Jaehyun can go too.” He chuckled, giving in.
“Okay thanks, I’ll see you two tomorrow,” you pointed at the two members who would be joining you the next day. Haechan smirked, side-eyeing Jaehyun, who just smiled widely at you.
---
The next day you got a text from Haechan saying that he wasn’t feeling too well so he couldn't make it to the fitting and that he was sorry, and he hoped that just having Jaehyun would be enough. You texted back saying it was fine, and that you hoped he would feel better.
You busied yourself around the studio while you waited, laying out the garments you were anxious for them to try. You had hoped for at least two members to get a better idea of sizing, but you’d have to make do with just one. You found it sweet that Jaehyun had clearly wanted to volunteer, and you were looking forward to catching up with him to see how he liked the idol life. Halfway through your idol training you had decided it wasn’t for you and had quit, deciding instead to go into fashion design. You didn’t regret your decision at all, loving your work, and watching idols perform onstage was enough for you, content that you hadn’t pursued that life. You had great respect for the trainees who’d made it, remembering how difficult it had been for you, and working with them again was definitely a treat.
In the middle of your reminiscence, Jaehyun walked into your studio. You almost didn’t recognize him, thinking he was a model from one of your other projects. He was dressed casually, in a black t-shirt and jeans, barefaced, his black hair tinted with streaks of blue, but he still exuded such a presence that you were taken aback.
“Oh, Jaehyun,” you said, startled slightly as he approached you.
“Noona,” he bowed gracefully, then smiled. There was an air about him that almost made him seem regal, like a prince undercover, and there were no traces of the shyness he’d exhibited the day before.
You couldn’t help but look him up and down, the change in his demeanor putting him in a whole new light. Your business brain observed the broadness of his shoulders, and how shirts and jackets would hang off them perfectly, how his narrow waist would show off the cut of a tailored coat, and how the proportions of his long legs and solidly built torso would make the perfect canvas for any creation you could come up with.
He saw you staring and smiled widely, his dimples getting deeper while his eyes crinkled ever so cutely. You remembered liking his face when he was younger, but the cuteness had morphed into a drop-dead gorgeousness that you couldn’t help but acknowledge. And the way he looked at you now, far from the puppy-dog eyes of youth, it was more intense, but somehow still playful.
“Um, shall we get started?” you cleared your throat, trying to clear your brain of the mixed emotions you were feeling, knowing you had a job to do.
You brought him over to a rack of clothes in front of a full-length mirror, showing him the different ideas you had for the comeback. He nodded now and then, giving you feedback when you asked and offering his own opinions here and there. You found he was very knowledgeable when it came to fashion and fabrics, and he had very firm opinions on what he liked and what he didn’t like. You appreciated that because it made your job so much easier, now you had a pretty good idea of what you wanted to do.
“Wow, that’s great!” you said, when he had finished giving you his detailed opinion on one of the outfits. “Why don’t you try it on, and then we can tweak any parts that you’re not happy with.” You handed him the outfit and pointed him towards a changing room in the back of the studio.
You sat on the sofa waiting for him to come out, and when he did your breath caught in your throat at the sight of him. He’d foregone wearing a shirt underneath the jacket, and had zipped it only halfway, so a good part of his chest was showing. The leather pants were skintight, straining against his muscular thighs, and showing too much of what was between his legs that you had to look away. He came and stood in front of you, so that you were eye level with his crotch.
“What do you think, noona?” he asked nonchalantly, as if he wasn’t currently a walking thirst trap.
“Um,” you cleared your throat, standing up quickly so that his crotch wasn’t in your view, “looks great!” you fiddled with the fabric, adjusting here and there, but you found that doing that made you touch him far too much. Brushes of your hands against his body, and you could feel the firmness even through the fabric. You were also so close to him that you could feel him breathing, feel the rise and fall of his chest under your hands. The worst part, however, was that you could smell him, a scent so intoxicating that it made your head spin.
He watched you the entire time, not saying a word, his eyes following your movements. You started to get nervous under his stare, with the intense way he was looking at you, and you fumbled with the zipper of the jacket trying to zip it up further to cover him up and salvage some of your sanity. Close to the top, it got stuck, probably because your hand was shaking and you couldn’t do it smoothly. You tried to unstick it, but it wouldn’t budge.
“Here, let me try,” Jaehyun offered, but it was stuck fast and wouldn’t move.
“We’ll have to cut you out of it, it’s just a sample so no big deal,” you said, turning around to get some fabric scissors to cut with. Just then there was a loud tearing sound echoing in the room, and you turned around in shock to see Jaehyun had ripped the jacket open, his chest now fully exposed, nipples perking from the coolness of the air conditioning.
“I got it,” he said cockily, a smirk forming on his lips as he watched your reaction.
Your jaw was probably on the floor, eyes bulging out of your sockets. Your hands reached towards him, whether to cover him up or touch his chest you really couldn’t tell. Your reaction seemed to embolden him though, because he stepped forward towards you, right into your personal space.
“Do you like what you see, noona?” he asked, his voice low but teasing.
You were now eye level with his chest, and you had to admit, you really liked what you were seeing.
“I know I had a little crush on you when I was younger,” he continued, his voice as sweet as honey, “but I’m older now,” he leaned even closer to you, his breath hot against your ear as he whispered, “bigger too.”
Everything he was saying and doing was going straight to your core, and your hands flew up and fisted into his torn jacket. He grabbed your hips and spun you around so that you were both facing the mirror.
“Do you like me, noona?” he asked sweetly, pulling your hair to one side so he could have access to your neck. You angled your head to open up more of your neck to him, falling hopelessly under his spell.
“Yes,” you breathed, and he didn’t quite kiss you yet, just his lips hovering over your skin. You could feel goosebumps forming as you watched him in the mirror, teasing you.
“Would you like it if I kissed you?” he said, breath hot against your neck.
“Yes,” you nodded, watching in breathless anticipation as he leaned further in. Just before his lips connected with your skin he locked eyes with you in the mirror and smirked.
Your knees went weak as he sucked harshly on your skin, there were no tentative or tender kisses, just all out sucking, teeth grazing, definitely leaving marks that you’d have to hide. His hands gripped your hips, holding you in place, and soon enough you could feel his hard bulge pressing against your ass.
You tried not to moan out loud, but then his hands started to roam, one of them moving up under your shirt, up your stomach, over your bra. He groaned when he felt only the flimsy lace separating his fingers from your perked nipple. He pinched it, and you couldn’t suppress the whimper that escaped your lips.
“Oh fuck, noona,” he groaned into your shoulder, “I knew you would sound sexy.”
While you were too busy basking in the pleasure of his fingers pinching your nipples, you barely noticed that his other hand had moved down, undoing your jeans and slipping over the matching lace of your panties. You inhaled sharply as he cupped your pussy, gripping it almost possessively.
“Is this okay, noona?” he asked, and you could hear him breathing heavily.
“Yessss,” you breathed out, the word elongating because now he was tearing your shirt off and unhooking your bra, throwing the garments to a corner of the room. Your upper half was now bare to him, and he looked at you in the mirror, eyes hungry with lust.
“Fuck, you’re more beautiful than I ever remembered,” he said, awe in his voice, before he went back to pinching your nipples. He watched you in the mirror as you whimpered, tweaking and pinching and pulling lightly, and the louder you got the harder he did it.
“You like that, don’t you, noona?” His voice sweet like honey again. He pulled the hand out that was cupping your pussy and yanked your jeans and underwear down, so that now you were completely bare to him.
“So fucking sexy,” he groaned, pressing his obvious erection even harder against your ass. He was still fully clothed and you were completely naked, and for some reason that turned you on even more. You were sure you were dripping wet for him and sure enough, when you looked in the mirror you could see your arousal glistening on the insides of your thighs. This observation didn’t escape him either, his hand slipping between your legs, middle finger rubbing the wetness along your slit.
“So fucking wet for me,” he groaned right into your ear, and you moaned even louder, throwing your head back against his shoulder as his finger made a mess of you.
“Do you like this, noona?” he whispered, slipping two fingers inside you. You arched your back as his fingers penetrated you, a long drawn out moan the only answer you could manage to his question. “Does it feel good?” he asked, thrusting his fingers deeper inside of you. You could only nod vigorously, your limbs turning to jelly as the pleasure coursed through your body. You could feel the knot in the pit of your stomach starting to form, and you started panting as it crept up on you.
“Are you close, noona?” he breathed into your ear, picking up the pace, ramming his fingers so hard into you that you couldn’t help but cry out, clinging onto his arm as the knot in your stomach snapped, and you came, your pussy clenching around his fingers.
“So fucking hot,” he murmured, pulling his fingers out of you. He gave you a moment of reprieve, letting you rest for a moment against his chest as he unzipped his pants and pulled out his cock. You watched his face in the mirror as he rubbed the tip of it against your wet folds, his lips pursed with concentration, his eyes dark and hooded. Once again he looked up and locked eyes with you in the mirror, a sexy smirk forming on his face before he rammed his cock into your pussy from behind.
You almost fell forward from the force of his thrust but he caught you, arms around your middle as he fucked into you. There was no gentleness in his movements, just power and raw strength, and that aroused you so much you thought you would pass out. You held onto his arms for dear life as he pounded ruthlessly into you, your throat already getting hoarse from the needy whines and whimpers that you couldn’t hold back.
“You like it, noona?” he growled into your ear, “You like my cock?”
“Fuck, yes!” you screamed, your eyes glazing over as the pleasure once again spread throughout your body.
“You look so good with my cock buried inside you,” he whispered, “look at how your pretty pussy swallows my cock.” He spread your thighs apart so you could see in the mirror, and you were mesmerized by the way his cock disappeared into your pussy. Suddenly he lifted you up by your thighs like you weighed nothing, and bounced you on his cock, opening up your legs even further for a better view.
“That’s better,” he said, pleased at how much more he could see now.
You looked at yourself in the mirror and you were a mess. Your hair was all over the place, your mascara was smudged, your lipstick smeared. Your jaw was slack and your eyes were glassy, you couldn’t believe how fucked out you looked. It only served to spur Jaehyun on.
“Fuck, you look so hot bouncing on my cock,” he said, voice raspy, gripping your thighs so hard you were sure you’d have an imprint of his fingers there. The way he was manhandling you, the filthy things coming from his mouth, all served to bring you to your second orgasm of the day, clenching hard around him.
“That’s it, noona, come for me, come all over my cock,” he growled, breath coming in short gasps, signalling that he was close, “you’re so fucking sexy when you come.”
You screamed when you came, his thrusts so hard and deep you could swear you felt him in your guts.
“I’m gonna come, noona,” he said through gritted teeth, and at that moment you had the overwhelming urge to taste him.
“In my mouth,” you panted, and he obliged, pulling you off him and setting you down on your feet. You were glad you didn’t have to stand, your legs wobbly as you knelt down in front of him. You couldn’t help but notice how beautiful his cock was, red and angry and glistening with your juices, and you took it into your mouth hungrily.
“Oh fuck, noona!” he cried out, his hands threading through your hair. He was watching you bob on his cock in the mirror, trying to hold out because you looked so hot doing it.
“That’s it, noona,” he encouraged, “your mouth feels so good,” he threw his head back, concentrating, but he slipped momentarily and rammed his cock down your throat. You gagged for a second, but the feeling actually turned you on, and you tried to take more of him into your mouth as you could.
“Oh shit, noona,” he moaned, “you like that, don’t you?”
You looked up at him and nodded, and the look in his eyes was almost feral. He took a hold of your head then, and started to fuck your throat, once again sparing you no mercy. He was rough on you and you loved it, pulling at your hair just hard enough that the pain mixed with the pleasure, and you could feel the wetness once again pooling between your legs. Your throat constricting around his cock triggered his orgasm, and he groaned loudly as his warm cum spilled down your throat. You took it all, swallowing every drop, and when he pulled out you swiped your tongue along the tip.
“Holy fucking shit, noona,” he swore, his eyes wide with awe as he looked down at you. He tried to keep up his cocky demeanor, but traces of the shyness from the day before were there too, and you couldn’t help but smile. He helped you stand up and gathered you into his arms, smiling somewhat shyly at you. “Are you okay?” he asked, his voice soft.
“Yes, very much okay.” You answered, although you knew you’d have marks on your neck and imprints on your thighs that you’d have to answer for. Either way it was worth it, as you finally discovered what that boy with the dimples was all about.

Profile in Style—Ahmed From Qatar
One of the nicest things about the age we live in, with the technology we have, is being able to connect with people we’d never in a thousand years prior have made connections with. Not only that, but to learn and find common interests with those people. In Florence at Pitti last month, I met all kinds of people I instantly had a camaraderie with simply because we were both Styleforum members, or followed each on Instagram. It’s something truly wonderful that’s somehow easy to take for granted.
One man the miracle of the Internet has connected me with is Ahmed from Qatar, who goes by the handle _a_1970 on Instagram. I’ve been following him for about a year, ever since the guys at Anglo-Italian posted a photo of him (cropping his head, as he often does) in their shop. Besides Anglo-Italian, he posts photos wearing clothes from bespoke tailors like Dalcuore and Zizolfi.
His style is compelling to me for its easiness and simplicity. Sometimes I feel like I need a bit more in my outfits: another accessory, or another layer, or something to make it stand out. But seeing Ahmed’s fits reminds me that finding your uniform and nailing the basics is about as radical act as you can do.
Ahmed in a bespoke jacket by The Anthology. Photo courtesy Charles Yang.
You’ll typically see him wearing a sportcoat, open-collared shirt (or polo or turtleneck) and odd trousers. He doesn’t usually wear colors outside the menswear pantheon of navy, forest and olive greens, maroons, tans, browns, and grays. But what I like in particular is how he combines those colors in a way that I wouldn’t think to do, making it look natural and effortless. Often I’m too afraid to wear more than one dominant color, so I tend to go subdued or tonal with everything else. You’ll see Ahmed combining two or sometimes three colors with ease, naturally pairing complementary or tertiary colors, and it doesn’t look busy nor do the undertones clash.
I also think part of the appeal of his style to me is that he subtly subverts expectations one might have for someone his age. Pairing a polo shirt or washed denim button-up with a jacket isn’t something you see every day on an older man; on him, it adds a little youthful energy to his tailoring (as he says below, 1940s/50s elegance with a modern twist).
I also think he’s a poster child for soft Italian tailoring. Even devoid of personal context, I can tell he is comfortable. Once again, one might think someone his age should be wearing strong-shouldered, structured jackets to compensate for his rounded, slightly droopy shoulders. The subversion of that expectation makes his style appealing as well. Basically I want to dress like Ahmed when I grow up.
I reached out to him to find out a bit more about him, what got him interested in clothing and what some of his favorite pieces are.
Mitchell: Where do you live?
Ahmed Khalifa: Qatar
M: What do you do for work?
A: I am a developer, in the property business.
M: Have you always dressed in tailored clothing, or only recently?
A: Dressing up for work is a personal choice because I work privately. It depends on the occasion—sometimes I dress up for meetings. I have always been interested in tailored clothing, but I only found my proper style in 2016. Before, I was interested in classic menswear, but it was more about buying certain brands, not necessarily quality and fit like from a bespoke tailor.
M: What caused you to move from buying simply based on brands into choosing classic tailoring in bespoke?
A: Firstly is the fit, especially the back and the collar around the neck. It is more comfortable when it fits better. Secondly is the uniqueness of getting to choose your own fabrics and colors; I love that it’s specially made for me.
M: Who is your style icon?
A: I don’t have a particular style icon, but more of an era, which is the ‘40 and ‘50s for the classical style of people like Clark Gable and Cary Grant; I also love Steve McQueen’s casual wear. If I did have to choose an icon I would say Gianni Agnelli or Prince Charles, though honestly I get inspired by any well dressed gentlemen.
M: How would you describe your style?
A: I would consider my style a classic style with a modern twist. Like I said I have an interest in the look of the ‘50s, so I like to wear something like pleated high rise trousers with a turn up, but bring in a bit of a twist with modern colors and texture of fabrics.
M: What are your favorite shops, tailors and/or brands?
A: It’s very difficult to chose between tailors as they each have their own style, like how Neapolitan design differs from Florentine. As you can see on my Instagram I mention a lot of tailors, brands and stores. Some of my favorite brands include Anglo Italian, Spier and Mackay, Drake’s, No Man Walks Alone and Ring Jacket.
M: What are your 5 favorite pieces of clothing, and why?
A: To be honest I love everything I own! But if I had to choose I would say:
Pomella Napoli trousers in Fox Brothers cavalry twill
Polo camel coat by Anglo Italian (made to measure)
Palazi flannel suit by Giannluca X Fox Brothers, trouser by Pomello, jacket by Sartoria Ciro Zizolfi.
Raglan coat also by Sartoria Ciro Zizolfi
VBC double breasted suit by Sartoria Dalcoure.
#gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Pomella trousers in white Fox Bros. cavalry twill.
Polo coat in camel by Anglo-Italian.
Double breasted suit by Dalcuore.
Raglan coat by Zizolfi.
Suit in Fox Brothers Palazzi Flannel, jacket by Zizolfi, trousers by Pommella
M: What’s on your wish list of clothing that you want to acquire next?
A: Next I’d like to get:
A double breasted made to measure suit in midnight chalk stripe flannel by Fox Brothers heritage
A double breasted linen summer suit
A summer safari jacket
M: What’s your go-to outfit, the one you tend to put on over and over again whenever you want to look your best?
A: Mid-grey Anglo-Italian flannel trousers (or any of my Pomella trousers) with a Luca Avitabile “Friday polo” (or maybe a nice Davino shirt) and a Ciro Zizolfi jacket.
M: Your bio mentions you love watches. Of the ones you own, which are your favorites?
A: My favorite watches include Vacheron Constantin 1955 ultra thin, the Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso (1930’s), and my A.Lange Söhne Saxonia
#gallery-2 { margin: auto; } #gallery-2 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-2 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-2 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Vacheron Constantin ultra-thin.
Jaeger le Couture Reverso.
A.Lange Söhne.
M: And what watches would you still like to acquire?
A: I would like to acquire the Patek Philippe 5140P and a JLC ultra thin.
M: Do you pick your watch based on your outfit, or pick a watch first and choose what else to wear?
A: I don’t exactly chose my watch based on my outfit. Since I tend to dress classically, I wear classic watches rather than sporty ones.
M: What about shoes, which you also mention in your bio? Which are your favorites?
A: One of my all-time favorites are the Edward Green Dover on the 606 last in brown suede. They are my go to. I also love the Saint Crispin Oxford on the classic last in snuff suede.
M: Do you pick your shoes first, or your outfit first, when getting dressed?
A: It depends on my mood—sometimes it starts with the shoes, and other times it starts with the shirt or even the trousers.
Many thanks to Ahmed for taking the timehs to answer my questions, and to Charlie for letting me use his outstanding photos of Ahmed from Pitti!

Leggings Quotes
Official Website: Leggings Quotes
• As a revolutionary people, we Americans won a probable victory over the best and biggest army in the world because we learned to fight from the Indians. You can do a lot of damage with a Kentucky rifle from behind a tree. You don’t put on a peaked hat and a red coat and white leggings and crossed white bandoleers with a big silver buckle in the center of the X and march uphill into a line of Howitzers loaded with chain and chopped horseshoes. – James Lee
jQuery(document).ready(function($) var data = action: 'polyxgo_products_search', type: 'Product', keywords: 'legging', orderby: 'rand', order: 'DESC', template: '1', limit: '68', columns: '4', viewall:'Shop All', ; jQuery.post(spyr_params.ajaxurl,data, function(response) var obj = jQuery.parseJSON(response); jQuery('#thelovesof_legging').html(obj); jQuery('#thelovesof_legging img.swiper-lazy:not(.swiper-lazy-loaded)' ).each(function () var img = jQuery(this); img.attr("src",img.data('src')); img.addClass( 'swiper-lazy-loaded' ); img.removeAttr('data-src'); ); ); ); • Fashion as we used to know it doesn’t exist. The dress as we know it today-it’s dead. The dress has become so short it’s really a tunic worn with leggings….Fashion is fantasy, it’s a child’s game….Now I’m going to be this, and then I’m going to be something else. – Rudi Gernreich • He Looked and smelt like Autumn’s very brother, his face being sunburnt to wheat-colour, his eyes blue as corn-flowers, his sleeves and leggings dyed with fruit-stains, his hands clammy with the sweet juice of apples, his hat sprinkled with pips, and everywhere about him the sweet atmosphere of cider which at its first return each season has such an indescribable fascination for those who have been born and bred among the orchards. – Thomas Hardy • Honestly my style sense, I guess, started in high school when I was a volleyball player. That was just what I wore: leggings every single day with my sports bra so I didn’t have to change into it in the girls’ gym locker room and that’s kind of how it started. – Gigi Hadid • I always feel better and more beautiful in things that I’m comfortable in so I was fine with putting a little makeup on and keeping my leggings on and going to a party. – Gigi Hadid I didn’t invent hot water. But when I approach menswear, I do it in a very honest way. And my menswear and womenswear are very similar, in the sense that I put men in leggings and lace shirts. – Riccardo Tisci • I have my own style and don’t really follow fashion, but I like leggings. They’re easy to wear and can go with anything. – Eva Green • I have two pairs of stretchy maternity leggings and jeans, which I will never give up, because once you experience an elastic band for a waist, you will never go back. – Daphne Oz • I love black leggings with cowboy (I mean cowgirl!) boots, and other-slightly less trendy-things like my boys’ Wrangler jeans and my husband’s worn deerskin work gloves. – James Lee

Burberry Spring Summer 2019
Yes, Riccardo Tisci the goth queen who reinvented Givenchy debuted his first collection under Burberry; the iconic British fashion house known for its signature trench coats and plaid. Burberry has not been doing great over the past few years. Between CCO Christopher Baily’s dull collections and the companies burning 30+ million dollars worth of unsold products every year, the sun hasn't really been shining on the brand all that much. But many (myself included) expected that to turn around when Riccardo was appointed. Obviously, we were all wrong to think the new collection would give us the magic Givenchy collections had with a Burberry twist. What we got instead was a banal, cheap, and Zara-like collection under the name of Burberry. I understand brands wanting to create wearable looks for their consumers and putting them on the runway but this is taking wearable way to far. Riccardo decided to split the collection into five sections; Burberry heritage for the older female consumer, Burberry heritage for the older male consumer, what Riccardo thinks male streetwear is, what Riccardo thinks female streetwear is, and the black gowns that genuinely hurt my heart. I assume there were sections in order to differentiate the clientele that Riccardo and Burberry hope to entice. The older consumer that still loves the heritage of Burberry and its really classic pieces, the young streetwear fans that would lap up any of Riccardo’s Givenchy pieces, and the fans of Riccardo’s beautiful black dresses from Givenchy were the targeted consumers for this collection. This great divide and conquer solution just did not work at all.
The opening look was this knee-length classic Burberry trench. which was disturbed by this big brown band of fabric, that I assume was meant to imitate some sort of Dior look but without flattering the body. Riccardo is known for restricting the body or molding it into a perfect hourglass figure, which is seen throughout the show. This body restriction/modification came in the forms of tight sleeves, blank chain waist belts for men, a bodycon cocktail dress with hip and butt padding, and a black fringe two-piece with the same padding structure.
Then Riccardo introduced the new print he had created for the brand, where the B and T interlock. While others hated it, I don’t mind the print at all (although it does kind of look like a pretzel). I was excited to see what he could do with it. I was confused when the second look which introduced this print was in a burgundy and icy blue instead of the orange and white, which he has plastered over every major city in the world. He hasn’t even introduced the original print yet, why is he trying to introduce a two-tone print in different colors? It seems like he’s getting ahead of himself and it’s barely the second look of the collection.
Then we get a section of heritage Burberry prints, which were boring. And that’s me being nice. I understand that there is an older Burberry customer, but give them something to fall in love with. They need an update to their classic Burberry pieces, not weird kangaroo pouches.
The next few polka dot looks showcased some sort of Cruella de Vil reference. Riccardo also threw in some cheeta prints to stand out but ended up looking out of place. I understand wanting to get into trends but a Debut collection for a new designer at a new house should be an almost obvious isolated event. Riccardo needs to establish a brand image at all costs. He shouldn’t be trying to emulate trends that were starting last season. This is something that is true for every single designer. No matter who it is and what house it is, you have to establish the brand image and make sure that everybody knows what is going on and what your vision for this brand is. Showing trendy pieces is not establishing a brand image, it’s just doing more of the same Burberry nonsense.
He then went on to include more trends like belt bags and silk scarves which had extremely awkward placement in the garments. Just saying, I wouldn’t buy a coat with silk scarves coming out of the armpits, and I don’t know anyone that would.
Then we got these Victorian baby screen prints on blouses which were fighting with stripes and Riccardo’s TB logo. Even if the pieces were somewhat interesting on their own, the overbearing styling doesn’t let you see the meek pieces because every other element in the look is screaming for your attention. The Victorian print is paired with a polka dot and lace top covered by a woven Burberry plaid coat. If Riccardo wants to tackle Victorianism in England, I love that, but not with screen printed shirts. Make a Victorian silhouette streetwear. Make some ruffles and collars look really cool and wearable to young people, but screen prints of scary babies and couples? That’s definitely a no from me.
The show then goes from way too much going on to not enough going on with 11 of the most boring looks I've ever seen. These looks included outfits in either solid black, beige, and red with minimal effort put into their styling. This would've been the perfect section to include those victorian prints or Burberry logo to spice things up a little.
Then Kendall Jenner models an all beige look in which the jacket and pants are piped in gold hoops that remind me of Riccardo Givenchy. The look is far from revolutionary, but after the previous disastrous looks, something simple yet familiar is definitely refreshing.
The menswear was somewhat classic and boring but had these gimmicks that tried to take it to the next level that failed horribly. The blazer sweater was terrifying, the fully striped suit paired with a black trench coat didn't really say anything, and the bike chain belts with umbrella straps just feel like they're trying far too hard. I know Burberry may want to court the supreme line over to the Burberry store, but let me just say that this is not the way to do it.
As for the matching chest band to its color coordinating jacket or sweater, I found it interesting. At first, I thought it was another gimmicky way to add depth to a look, but I realize it’s actually a way for the jacket or sweater to stay open while wearing it. While I actually applaud this attempt at design, I doubt it’s something that the average Burberry customer is going to understand or purchase.
To conclude this review, It’s obvious that I found this collection to be one of the most painful, disorganized, and tacky mess I have ever seen from a brand. At this point, bring back Christopher Bailey because at least those collections never got my hopes up. I don’t expect the next show to escalate to an over the top AvantGarde beautiful collection from Burberry, but hopefully, introduce some interesting pieces that actually have something to say

Interview with blogger Damien Broderick
photography by Julia Cuprina
Tell us a little about yourself
My name is Damien Broderick and I’m 25. I’m a menswear and lifestyle blogger from Dublin and I’m a bespoke tailor by trade.
When did you start blogging?
2015
What inspired you to start a blog?
I was always interested in menswear, particularly tailoring. People like David Gandy inspire me and I actually met him at a M&S event. He asked me what I did for a living (I was working in Tesco at the time) and he said that I need to start working in fashion. As a result, I quit my job in Tesco pretty much instantly but I wasn’t sure what to do so I started a blog and then it kind of snowballed from there.
Tell us about your content, what do you write about?
Educating men on the essence of being a traditional gentleman, about being chivalrous and the definition of chivalry - it’s not just offering a coat or opening the door. The definition of chivalry is a man who expects more from himself than the world expects of him. So you don’t open the door because a woman can’t do it for herself, you open the door because it’s good manners. So that’s the basis of the content and that’s how fashion and menswear translates on my blog.
Do you have any tips for bloggers who are just starting out?
Fist tip and the most important is branding. If you look at huge brands such as David Beckham, David Gandy and Tom Form…when you look at their work, you instantly recognize the brand. Creating a brand image from the very start and sustaining it should be your first step.
Have a good blog name that you’re happy with. I just chose damienbroderick.net because I don’t want to be blogging when I’m 40. I want it to be a brand. So have a good blog name and make sure that you’re happy with it. You don’t want to spend years creating an audience and a brand and then in 5 years’ time, when you’re older and wiser, realize that you’re no longer happy with your brand name.
Other things like networking is also important. Checking your analytics and understanding your audience; but don’t just deliver content that they like, deliver content that you enjoy making. It’s evident when someone changes themselves to please other people. Always remember who you are and try as hard as you can to remain who you are, although it is difficult in this world.
Describe your style in 3 words.
Traditional, elegant, grey
What is success to you?
When you wake up in the morning feeling excited and you can’t sleep at night because you’re thinking about your passion. Money will follow, I’d rather be stone broke and do something that I love rather than be rich and do something that I hate.
Majority of bloggers today use social media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat as an extension of their blog. What are your thoughts on social media and how it’s being used by bloggers?
Social media presence is a huge part of blogging and it’s a great tool for sharing a new blogpost, making connections or collaborating with brands. If Facebook or Instagram decides tomorrow that they’re going to shut down, the blogging industry would suffer big time. Instagram is my biggest platform and that’s where I have my largest following. I like the visual aspect of Instagram and the fact that it has helped me build my brand.
We’re a generation of entrepreneurs. We create personal brands, monetize social media accounts and it’s extremely exciting. Snapchat is a great example of an app which wasn’t designed for bloggers/influencers but has been manipulated into a career. People like James Kavanagh and James Butler are a great example - they made careers from being absolute Snapchat superstars.
Snapchat or Instagram stories?
I use Insta stories more. There’s more connection with the audience. Snapchat is very private. On Instagram, if someone is watching my story they can check out my page. There’s a profile behind the story on Instagram and Snapchat doesn’t have that.
What do you enjoy most about blogging and what do you find challenging?
I enjoy the social aspect of blogging. The doors that it opens, the people that you meet and the places that you find yourself in. I’ve made friends that I would have never met if I didn’t start a blog. I’ve worked on a campaign with MINI, landed my dream job as a bespoke tailor, met so many amazing people and it was all because of my blog.
The challenging part would be dealing with haters, some of the comments that people write on social media. I don’t care if it’s about me but when they target friends and family, that’s what upsets me but I have to stop myself from writing back.
What helps to stay motivated?
It’s very simple - I’m at point A, my goals and my dreams are at point B. The only thing in between those two points is work and that’s what motivates me. There’s no secrets to motivation - you just need to know what you want, you need to figure out how to get it and work hard every single day.
Who do you follow?
Laws Of Style - Lawson is an Irish blogger and we’re really good mates.
Adam Gallagher - he’s the OG of male blogging. He’s been blogging 6 or 7 years. He travels a lot, lives in New York and his content is great.
The Modern Man is another blog that I enjoy reading.
What are you working on at the moment?
I’m working on bringing out a collection of my suits that people can buy, where people can shop my closet and my designs. This project is taking up a lot of my time but I’m still creating content in between.
