Please can we hear your thoughts on what Bruce does/thinks when being confronted with his neglect by Jason (and maybe the other boys too)??
Thank you, and have a nice day!
Bruce is the one I have the hardest time characterizing tbh.
I think his first reaction would be denial? He hasn't been the best father, but even he wouldn't go as far as to forget his own chi...
Oh my god he doesn't know how old you are. You were...you were older than Tim but younger than Dick, he thinks.
Wait.
When was your birthday?
Did he ever give you a birthday party?
What wing of the manor did you sleep in?
Where were you right now?
Unlike Tim who starts the unofficial search, Bruce heads right to the batcave to find your official records. Social security number. If you worked anywhere or has anyplace legal to stay, you'd have to input that. He's ashamed he has to go through a government database to find it, rather than simply knowing it.
And just like Tim, he finds nothing. Which scares him beyond belief. Had he lost you already? Did he actually forget about one of his children and then unknowingly replace them? Was he actually guilty of what Jason had accused him of years ago, albeit to a different child?
In reality, you're living solely through cash. Plenty of individuals are eager to avoid paying all their taxes, and are thrilled to accept cash only payments on your rent, or paycheck. Legally, you haven't done anything since graduating high school.
Not necessarily hiding from them, per say, as you don't think they'd go looking, but just because you don't want to be known as a Wayne.
And god, there is so much guilt, fear, and anguish rolling around inside that man. He needs to find out where you are, and if you're okay, and if anybody had done anything to you.
He swears if they have, he'll rip the motherfucker to pieces-
No. That isn't going to help. So instead he checks every reported death within not only Gotham, but any city within a 50 mile radius. For the last 10 years.
As well hidden as you are, nobody can hide from Batman while he's concentrating every effort to find you.
He's hesitant to bring you home at first. How can he call himself your father after forgetting you for your whole time living with him? But his regard for your safety eventually wins out. Until then, you just get a concerning amount of money just...stashed in your apartment??? What the fuck??????
Dick also feels a lot of guilt, but he somewhat subconsciously channels that into abundant overeagerness. Instead of focusing on how many important moments he missed...that he can never get back with his first baby sibling...
...ah, he should focus on all the memories you can make going forward! He has to take you to all his favorite spots, and you take him to yours!
What interests do you have? Are you a go to the aquarium person? Family movie night? Spa night? Just having fun with everyone at dinner? He has to do these things with you! And then you'll be his family again, and he'll love you, and you'll love him-
In spirit, he shows up outside your door like Damian. But he is self aware enough to know that'd freak you out, so instead he 'coincidentally' shows up at your work...in the bad side of town...and his attitude definitely gives away it was planned.
He messes up your "I'm a nobody like all of you" persona you'd spent years cultivating, and by the time he leaves, all your coworkers and customers know that you're Dick Grayson's sibling...which means Bruce Wayne's child, but he likes saying you're related to him more.
Tim doesn't give a fuck at first, like I established. It really is a game to see if he can find you before anybody else does. When he loses that to Bruce (damn it-), he decides he'll just know you BETTER than the others to win.
So he starts literally stalking you and making a psyche profile, like you're a case rather than his sibling. Any interest you've ever listed in your social media is cross checked with any belongings of yours. Merch or posters? Songs you listen to? Any of that content, he consumes as well. He's going to need conversation topics with you.
I'm not entirely sure if he actually loves you as family, or if you're just a hyperfixation that's consistently buzzing at his brain. It's like he wants to dissect, then digest you. Pick you apart piece by piece so he sees every last skin cell, then make that information a part of him
Though, he'd claim it's the former. To him, there's no discernable difference.
He's the one who meets you at your hobbies. Claims an online friend brought it up, but hey, it's crazy to see you again!
Even though it's your first conversation...maybe ever?
He's chatting to you like you haven't been estranged your whole life.
And the look in the eye is...a little unnerving.

Honestly it lowkey annoys me whenever people say that Michael has 'very little personality' outside of hunting down his father.
N like- on the surface, that seems true, but like. If you look deeper, that's... not really true?? Because there's a LOT that actually speaks to his character, but you have to be willing to catch onto the connections his character has
Like, for example, Michael has a very straightforward way of speaking. He's dry and sarcastic ("They thought I was you... [laugh]"), has a foreshortened sense of the future (the drawing of a gravestone in the security logbook), not to mention the dialogue of foxybro in fnaf 4. He doesn't beat around the bush, but he's bitter and dry and sarcastic. Even as an old man, his anger and cynicism towards Freddy's shows in his drawings, but he has a sense of humor (the exotic butters and casual bongos referenced in the logbook, not to mention the silly drawings), plus he's sentimental (as said before, exotic butters and casual bongos). Not to mention he's stubborn as shit, given he keeps coming back to Freddy's, even after 30 whole years.
A lot of people also really like to write Michael off as being stupid, for... some reason. The games really say otherwise; the fact that he tampers with the animatronics regularly, figured out what his father did and what happened to Elizabeth in less than a week, freed the dead kids, helped make FFPS and ran a business, likely Also made the fnaf 3 location too, knew what was gonna happen to him in SL (pretty clear given the fact you can ignore Baby's directions on the last night), can manage several animatronics at once throughout an entire night...
Michael is very clearly Really Fucking Smart. Smart enough that I'm willing to bet that was one of the reasons why William sent him to the SL bunker. Michael is FAR from an idiot, and the FNAF movie even proves this further! He's SCARILY smart!
There's a lot more too; him using a red foxy mask speaks a lot to his character too. Red is often used to denote everything from passion to anger (yknow, 'seeing red' being a term for when you're blind with rage), and he wears it the entire time he bullies CC. It's not just a literal mask, it's figurative too; Michael puts up a mask of anger, he pretends to be this scary bully. The cruelty isn't real, Michael is just the scapegoat and he's acting out (very very common).
Also, Michael is 100% who you play as in fnaf 4 based on the movement, and who rubs away in Midnight Motorist. CC is the type of kid to freeze up, curl up into a ball and cry when he's scared, as seen several times in fnaf 4. It wouldn't make sense for him to suddenly turn around and start running around, or fighting back. It's very Michael to run around, constantly looking around, or to break out and run away.
Another note on Michael's character is that he's associated with Foxy. The Funtimes are clearly modeled after the Aftons (Ballora and Baby are, why wouldn't the rest match CC (Freddy) and Michael (Foxy)?), and using that we can gleam some parts of Michael from FT Foxy (since William clearly was trying to mock and make fun of him with the angsty teen voice). FT Foxy is a performer; he's dramatic, he's vicious, attacking even when he 'shouldn't', and wants his stage solely to himself.
This fits Michael; Michael put on an act of viciousness and cruelty, always attacking when you least expected it. So it makes sense that Michael, too, is a performer, and FFPS hammers this in using the business bear. Again, the mask represents Michael acting, pretending, and it wouldn't be the first time an Afton would pretend (William, Elizabeth, and to an extent, CC). The rest of the Aftons are also theatrical and dramatic, so again, this tracks. He's also represented as one of those hand puppets in the ffps alleyway poster, something used to ACT.
And again, with Foxy, we can gleam that Michael likely is also a sort of 'leader' figure, since Foxy has been depicted as not just a pirate captain, but also as a Ringleader. This also tracks, not just bc the Aftons have a circus theme, but Michael is the eldest of his siblings, and thus the de facto 'leader'. He's the first to act, to put things into motion when everything 'ends'. Foxy is also, well, a fox, which are depicted as cunning and intelligent, which only lends credence to Michael being intelligent.
It's also implied that Michael... doesn't really care about people who Aren't his family?? Whether that's by blood or not, he doesn't care abt others who isn't his family. This is implied by the fact that he only cared about freeing Elizabeth, showing absolutely No care about the Funtimes despite them clearly being sentient. Not to mention the lawsuits he regularly gets in FFPS, or the state Fazbears Frights is in in fnaf 3. And, judging by Henry's final speech, he and Michael just. Don't seem to talk At All. At the very least they definitely don't communicate since Henry assumed Michael wanted to die (which is left Very Ambiguous).
Honestly this doesn't even BEGIN to get into everything that the Glitchtrap Michael theory says about his character that also hammer in all of these traits Even Further.
And like. Michael is SOOO much like William when you put all of this into perspective. Like, they are SIMILAR similar, but differ in ways that are important. Michael is a performer, an actor, he doesn't care about anyone outside of his family, he's stubborn as fuck, he's smart as hell, he's sarcastic and dry, etc.
He has SO. MUCH. CHARACTER. You just have to dig a little- this is ALL gleamed from the games and Security Logbook. There's more if you believe he's Glitchtrap- which he very likely is.
Just... it's nuts. He's such an intriguing character, he's not perfect and he's morally gray, yet people love to dumb him down to "hehe sad uwu arsonist zombie boy who's also Stupid"
Please just let Michael be a problematic old man (he was born in the 60s ffs, he's almost in his 60s by the time ffps rolls around).

hey baaabe, can you maybe write tae or jimin falling for oc whos also an idol but they cant really show it to anyone? 🥹
A/N: I will write Tae with a proper secret relationship but for now I present to you……
IDYLLIC
IDOL!JIMIN X IDOL!GN!READER
Synopsis: Jimin has a rule. A code if you will. Under no circumstances will he ever date another idol. He's lived by it for many years. Not once has he ever been close to breaking it. Until he met you that is.
W/C: 2.2k
WARNING: Jimin struggling with his feelings slight angst
REQUESTS: OPEN
Tumblr media
It wasn't ideal. In an industry like Jimins you don't have time for relationships. A lot of the time you don't even have the mental energy. There was too much to work around.
You don't want to date a fan. They already have a version of you built up in their head. One that would quickly prove itself untrue.
If you do manage to find someone who doesn't know who you are that too can become a disaster. Paparazzi lurk behind every corner. The whole relationship is forced into secrecy. It could ruin your career, it could ruin your partner's life. It isn't good for a relationship. Most people need more. They want to go out on dates. They want normalcy, not to be hidden deep in a closet like dirty laundry.
There were other idols… one look at an idol of the opposite sex and the media would be pumping out articles about a secret love affair. Every week someone would come up to Jimin asking about an idol he hadn't even spoken to.
That was only part of it. Companies would clash. Some companies would push a narrative to try and profit off it.
In the Idol industry, two idols dating was taboo. Some sort of curse that ran rampant through the industry. People would talk behind their backs. Send sympathetic looks to the poor souls that fell victim to it. It was hard as an idol not to fall for another. Idols ended up being around other idols quite a bit. People have needs and when you're surrounded by attractive people it's hard not to go seeking comfort.
Another idol would know what you're going through. They could understand things regular people never could.
But it always ended badly. The media loved it. It was a drama that kept people clicking. So the cameras kept flashing.
So Jimin did the sensible thing. He swore off dating. Of course, every now and then he would find himself in someone's bed. But it never was more than that.
He would risk his and his members career on a scandal. Jimin knew he wouldn't be able to balance a relationship and everything else like Namjoon does. He would slip up when he knew he would. It was easier to just not even try. It was better this way.
For a long time it worked. Jimin managed. He wasn't tempted. He was good.
Until you waltzed into his life. It was at a photoshoot. You were also set to get photographed by the same photographer.
Your shot was before his. As luck would have it, Jimin had arrived early and the staff invited him back.
He had seen you before. Your face was plastered over posters and billboards all across Seoul. None of it could compare to you in real life. None of them, not even the best photos that got the front page of magazines, came close to capturing all of you.
Jimin couldn't tear his eyes away from you as you posed. Your eyes strayed from the camera and settled on him for one brief flickering moment and that's all it took for Jimin to know he was a goner.
Then as if you hadn't even seen him at all your eyes settled back on the camera. Jimin hightailed it out of there and into the break room.
Water. He needed water. That's it, he was probably just dehydrated. Jin was always getting on his case about drinking more water. Something to drink and he would be just fine.
He had just cracked open the bottle and was about to take a sip when he heard you.
“Hey it's Jimin right?”
Slowly almost like a scene out of a movie Jimin turned. Only a few feet behind him there you were. Still in all the glam required for the photoshoot, obviously you had just finished. Jimin swallowed dryly, wishing he had drunk the water already. His tongue was sticking to the rook of his mouth. He managed one shaky nod.
“I'm Y/N.”
“I know.” Great, he had finally managed to say something and he sounded like an asshole.
You took it in stride, or maybe you just hadn't noticed
“Sorry for making you wait. Had some wardrobe issues so we went a little over time,” You said sheepishly.
Then as if it was the most natural thing in the world you reached around him and grabbed one of the water bottles on the counter.
Instantly your scent surrounded Jimin. His breath hitched before he settled on just holding his breath. This close he could see the rise and fall of your chest with each breath. He could see the smallest crease in your eye makeup, probably from laughing.
You leaned back like nothing had happened at all. Like you hadn't just thrown Jimin's code and way of life out the window. You hadn't noticed a thing at all.
Jimin's photo shoot didn't go as well as they usually did. His mind was elsewhere, his poses a little sloppy as he tried to listen to the staff. But everything just felt like static noise.
Ever since then you seemed to be everywhere. Or maybe Jimin was just now noticing your presence.
You were at every party. Every formal event. Always dressed exquisitely. Always looking perfect. Always distracting him.
The rest of his members took notice. They would cast each other looks every time Jimin's eyes strayed back to you.
Jimin tried his hardest not to think of you. To cast every thought of you from his mind. He would turn off the T.V if you came on screen. He would turn off his phone every time you were trending.
Yet everywhere he went. You were there. When he got seated next to you in a fashion stone all he could do was sit stone still. He listened to you gush about the pieces with your friend and it just made everything ten times worse.
Occasionally you would turn to Jimin and try to make small talk. Everytime you two were in the vicinity of him you tried to talk to him. Maybe you were just being polite but Jimin couldn't help but relish in it.
It was so unnatural for him. Jimin was used to making others flustered, not the other way around. He just had that effect, yet this time all of it was turned around on him.
All of it came to its peak on New Year's eve. Hoseok had insisted on throwing a party. Only certain people were invited. Mostly other Idols the group trusted and some personal friends.
You made an appearance. Something Jungkook who had made the guest list failed to mention.
You were beautifully done up and hanging off the arm of one of your friends. The two of you looked so comfortable together. You fit into that spot so perfectly Jimin started to wonder if the two of you were dating.
The thought made him so uncomfortable that he had to turn away. Jimin just missed the look Jungkook gave him.
Jimin poured himself a drink, the first one of the night.
“You alright man?” Jungkook asked.
“Yeah why?” Jimin took a sip and winced at the sharp taste of alcohol and way to sweet juice. Damn Taehyung and his strange drink concoctions.
“I dunno. Lately you've seemed…” Jungkook paused, not sure how to put it, “Strange. You know you can talk to me right? Any of us?”
He wanted to. So badly. He wanted to ramble endlessly about you. How you always managed to look so perfect. How you helped the staff that one time you spilt a drink. How you always kept a calm composure when something clearly ticked you off. How he thought about you every waking hour.
But he couldn't. They all knew about his code. How he felt about dating, especially dating another idol.
Jimin was afraid that he would agree. They would tell him it wasn't a good idea. Not worth the trouble. And then he wouldn't. Because he respected the options of his members, even if it killed him inside.
Yet he was also afraid they would tell him to stop being stupid. To go for it. That even if it ends horribly at least he had you. Even if it was for a little bit. If they held that opinion… Jimin didn't know what he would do.
So he settled on “I'm fine, just stressed about this next album.”
Jimin could tell Jungkook didn't buy it. Not even for a second. Not wanting to be questioned, Jimin slinked off to go find Jin and to avoid you.
He managed well. Jin was in the kitchen over seeing Taehyung's new drink ideas.
You were easy to avoid. Jimin could easily spot your form in the crowd. Pick out your laugh in the cacophony of voices.
Halfway through the party Namjoon came and found him, “Hey Min can you go grab the bottle of tequila I left out on the balcony? My hands are kind of full.”
Namjoon gestured with an arm full of coats. Jimin didn't even notice that most of the coats were the groups, which had already been started away in their respective closets.
“Oh so it's a tequila kind of party?” Jimin said with a smirk before he pushed himself away from the counter.
He worked his way through the crowd before he reached the glass doors leading out to the balcony. Jimin spotted the bottle, sitting on the patio table. He slipped out to quickly grab it.
But what he failed to notice was you, arms crossed and leaning over the balcony. Gazing up at the stars.
Jimin noticed you only a split second before you turned around.
“Oh hey Jimin,” you greeted. It was too late now for him to scamper back into the party.
“Hey. What are you doing out here?”
“Oh you know. Just needed a break from the party.”
Jimin hummed in acknowledgement.
“Care to join me?” You turned back around to look at the night sky once more.
“Well Namjoon asked me to-” Jimin looked over his shoulder back at the glass doors. What he saw cut his sentence short.
Yoongi was staring at him with a devious little smirk. When their eyes met Yoongi reached forward and turned the lock on the door.
God damn him. Jimin gestured widely at Yoongi, willing him to unlock the door. It's not like he could yell out and demand him to. Not with you standing there.
With a cheeky smile and wave Yoongi slinked off into the crowd. Leaving Jimin stranded on the patio with you.
“Do I bother you?” You asked.
Jimin swung back around so quickly he almost gave himself whiplash. You hadn't turned back around but there was a noticeable tension in your shoulders.
“What?” Jimin said bewildered, “No? What makes you say that?”
“It just seems like you've made it your life mission to avoid me.”
Jimin was starting to wish he had accepted the third drink Tae tried to shove into his hands. He could really use the extra liquid courage right now.
Damnit. Jimin thought to himself. Get it together. You're a grown man. Jimin Park.
Jimin breathed out a deep breath and came to rest against the railing with you. His eyes focused on the cityscape in front of you two. He couldn't trust himself to look directly at you. He might jump onto you and never let you go.
“I don't…. Dislike you.”
“Well it sure seems like you do.” You said quietly.
Jimins heart panged. This wasn't what he wanted.
“I'm sorry…”
“Listen. I know we don't know each other. And we don't have to. Let's just be civil? It's hard in this industry.”
No no no. This is NOT what he wanted. Not how he planned this to be. Jimin didn't want to be civil, he wanted to be yours.
“I want to… know you.”
“You don't have to spare my feelings Jimin.”
Jimins head whipped around. You still hadn't looked at him. Your jaw was clenched and your bottom lip was quivering as if you were about to cry.
“I'm not! I'm really not, Y/N I-” Jimin took a deep breathe “I like you. I really do.”
You were silent.
“I don't date…” Jimin said after a moment.
“Oh….Jimin…I really think I like you too… But I don't do hookups.” You said slowly.
“That's not what I meant… I mean usually I don't date. But I can't stop thinking about you. You make me want to throw that rule away and never look back.”
There were some cheers from the party. Then the countdown started.
You turned to face Jimin head on. Your eyes met his for the first time since he came out to the patio.
“Three!”
Jimin swallowed and his eyes flickered down to your lips.
“Two!”
“Jimin. Will you kiss me?”
“One!”
He pressed his lips to yours as cheers echoed out from the party.

What do you think of season 2 of arcane? i've seen quite... a contrasting reaction from the public when compared to the reaction that s1 got
[cracks knuckles] ok, first some context: I was, and still am, largely unfamiliar with the League of Legends video games, which probably colors my perception of Arcane as a whole. The first season was incredible. 10/10 no notes. It's a masterpiece of animation hands down. One of its many strengths is that it sticks to a self-contained story that does not require lore knowledge or even knowledge of who the characters from the games are. It's a character drama wrapped in a steampunk/sci-fi/fantasy aesthetic. It tells a grounded story that follows its characters as their arcs play out all the way through to the end. I love it and habitually rewatched it while waiting for season 2.
...And then season 2 came and it kinda went. I enjoyed the season. The animation, music, voice acting, all incredible and it's what makes the season a joyride. But that's pretty much what it is. A joyride. That grounded story and character drama was largely dropped for bigger stakes and it feels like the season lost the plot. You were invested in the Zaun/Piltover conflict? Let's have Jayce give a half-assed speech about working together to defeat a common enemy and give Sevika a token seat at the councillors' table. You wanted to see how Jinx and Vi's relationship developed after the bombing? Well, Vi says "my sister is gone." Until Vander/Warwick shows up. But they don't really talk about their relationship or how much they've both changed. They're just cool with each other know.
Did you want to see how Jinx deals with the fallout of killing her father figure and embracing the role of the Mad Bomber? Well, she kinda mopes for a bit. Finds a street urchin that magically cures her of her mental instability. oops, street urchin is dead. Jinx is depressed now. fun. It's not like the marketing lead us to believe that Jinx was going to be an actual antagonist, right?
youtube
right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, I know trailers and posters can be misleading but come on. Season 1 ended with her fully becoming Jinx and I feel like she was more Jinx-like there than in season 2.
We got less of the sisters than in the first season despite being the emotional core of the story. Part of that is the escalating conflict and having far too many antagonists. We have Ambessa, Viktor, and the Black Rose and they all take up too much screen time (this last one was a huge ??? for me as a noob to the games. Actually, Mel's whole arc in season 2 was so divorced from season 1 that it feels like they just gave her magic powers just so she could participate in the fight). The other part is that when the sisters are together, they don't really say or do anything meaningful. The dialogue is rather boilerplate and there's no emotional weight to their scenes. It's just there.
That's really my problem with season 2 as a whole, it just feels like it's ticking off boxes to get to the big action sequences, and even some of those felt superfluous (did we really need a fight scene with Smeech? Smeech? Who the fuck is he and why should we care?). The funny thing is that, there are a lot of good ideas here. Jinx feeling conflicted about suddenly being seen as a symbol of the people? Awesome! Caitlyn falling under the sway of Ambessa as she mourns her mother and gasses innocent civilians in her mad pursuit of Jinx? Great! Viktor slowly losing his humanity and becoming the Machine Herald while Jayce struggles to right what they have wronged and get his friend back? Excellent! The problem is that they're all crammed together and don't get room to breathe, so everything is rushed and unsatisfactory.
When your first season ends with four people at a dinner table that explores their character dynamics and your second season's climax looks like a Marvel movie, there's a problem.
(also, side tangent: Silco and Vander's backstory was shoddy and contradictory. Making them BFFs with Vi and Jinx's mom was a bad idea. It cheapens Vander's decision to leave behind a life of violence and adopt two orphans. It introduces a plot hole that Silco wasn't around for the kids' childhood and makes that moment when he tries to kill Powder extra weird. PLUS, we have the ever lovely trope of fridging a woman and making her the catalyst of conflict between two male characters 😒
although this season did make me ship these two, so there's that👍)
(another mini tangent: I'm not fond of making a time traveling Viktor the one who gave baby Jayce the rune stone. That scene was one of my favorites from season 1 and the mage actually being Viktor just makes the world feel smaller and less enigmatic YMMV).
So there you have it. An overall okay season but one that pales in comparison to its predecessor.

new headcanons!
☆ THE POETS AT THE CINEMA ☆
(this got really long bc i love them so much aahhhh i hope you enjoy these headcanons as much as i do-)
CHARLIE: his favourite genre is comedy, plus movies about outlaws and teen rebels, says "so me" all through the film. oh yeah he doesn't shut up ever, talks the whole time until someone tells him to please stop talking because the movie's more interesting than how he'd dress as a pirate. every time there's a kissing scene, he turns to the poet sitting next to him and wiggles his eyebrows with a smirk. a nightmare to clean up after, his popcorn ends up all over the floor and himself. BUT all this doesn't apply to emotional movies. if a movie is sad, charlie is silent the entire time, doesn't crack a joke once and comes out of it with half his popcorn left.
KNOX: cries when watching romance, tells the poets he's not crying!! just the dry air of the cinema getting to him. insists on taking pictures of them in front of the movie poster. has accidentally thrown his ticket away instead of the receipt on several occasions. if there are cardboard cut-outs of characters at the cinema, he needs to take pics with all of them. eats a strange mixture of snacks, popcorn, pretzels and ice cream. asks "whAT?" at least five times through the movie bc he can't follow the plot. really fun to watch a movie with because he'll audibly gasp at every plot twist. idk him at the cinema is really cute guys i swear.
PITTS: needs a toilet break three times throughout the movie (tall guy small bladder king). his legs get cramps from the rows being too narrow but he doesn't care, pittsie LOVES going to the cinema. will most often go with knox and meeks, they're the best film trio. knows loads of lore about all sci-fi movies they watch, and acts annoyed at people asking questions because OF COURSE ni-bo64 has to destroy Leobor. eats salty snacks and always chooses the biggest cup of soda (meeks points this out every time pittsie has to squeeze around him to go to the toilet). loudly shouts "YES" when something he approves of happens. is the best sport about charlie's smirks in kissing scenes, he just like puts his hand on charlie's thigh really slowly and mouths 'hi'.
MEEKS: really likes movies with a hidden message, is the only one charlie will watch emotional movies with. but also just a huge nerd, him and pittsie watch sci-fi stuff together and then talk about every plot point for an hour. ORANGE SODA. really big fan of good film music. can't sit still and always steals the arm rest. doesn't talk but says "WHAT??" way too loud when a plothole occurs or a thing he was hoping for doesn't happen. is the one to buy the tickets.
NEIL: loves the comfy velvet seats. always has half a breakdown about "omg maybe i should go into film instead of stage acting??" after seeing a movie he really likes. is a little movie nerd, especially for superhero movies! loves the moment of stepping out of the cinema into the fresh night air. his snack is sweet popcorn or gummy bears. gets so excited when something cool is about to happen, he's waving his arms and being like "oh- ooohhhh- oooohhhhhh" until the cool thing actually happens. makes sure everyone has their tickets (goes into airport dad mode). laughs a lot and looks around at all the poets like "did you see that??" as if they're not all watching the same movie.
TODD: too anxious to complain about sitting behind a tall person, he'll often try to sit on top of his balled-up jacket to be a bit taller and see enough of the screen. pitts notices after a while and is like "hey todd, could we swap seats? i'd love to sit next to knox". todd only realises what that was about a few hours later and is silently soo grateful for pitts not embarrassing him. likes artsy movies where not a lot happens, and LOVES reruns bc then he already knows the plot and can relax. doesn't ever talk throughout the movie but laughs SO MUCH. mouths the lines when he already knows a movie. when there's a kissing scene he'll get embarrassed. doesn't buy snacks cos they're "too loud" and then eats all the other poets' snacks. every time. likes watching the ads before the movie.
CAMERON: asks "does anyone need to go to the bathroom before the movie starts" like fifty times before they watch the movie. hates sitting next to strangers during the movie because then he's always hyper aware of his behaviour and can't really focus on the film. likes historical movies and will watch them with todd (no one can tell me todd/cameron friendship isn't real, it makes so much sense). salty popcorn kinda guy. knows the names of all the actors and actresses.

ohhh I watched the movie Fear (1996) yesterday and it was freaky as hell, the character David was so good and psychotic and it gave me so many twisted wincest fic ideas. (if you care about spoilers from this movie stop reading)
Nicole, a virgin high school girl falls in love w David, who's like a bad boy of some sort and not in school.
he completely worms his way into her heart and manages to get her to do exactly what he wants, for example, encouraging him to put his fingers between her legs when at the beginning, she didn't want to do anything.
with his kisses, touches and the orgasms he gives her, he makes her a bit stupid and too trusting and she gives him the security password of their house so he can come over at night when her parents are away.
David charms her baby brother, her mum, and her dad at first, but the dad quickly clocks that this guy isn't normal when he just holler at his girl to get him a drink, and she does, without even thinking, and he finds that a bit weird, to do that RIGHT in front of her dad.
it gets worse when they go out, David tries to keep Nicole as late as possible, way past her curfew.
she fights w her parents, esp w her dad and David tells her how her dad wants to keep her his little girl forever, that he doesn't want her to grow up and he's jealous.
David eventually gets violent w her male friend, beats him half to death after he hugs her. he's terribly possessive and obsessive. Nicole has a fight w him and gives him the silent treatment, he eventually worms his way back to her heart and she forgives him.
her dad, confronts David at some point to leave his daughter Nicole the fuck alone but David doesn't gaf and reads him to filth, exposing his inadequacies as a dad but also as a husband to his wife. it's creepy. it's icky. and has weird pseudo incest vibes.
David seems like he WANTS to replace the dad in his place. he charms the socks off the wife and the baby brother and they all love him. including the flipping dog. and Nicole obviously. it's so good because David happens to be an orphan and was moved from place to place due to his violent nature until he turned 18 and they threw him out on the streets. but Nicole doesn't know that. only her dad and his wife because the dad tried to investigate him.
after the dad leaves, scared, David hits himself and shows Nicole later, telling her how her dad hit him unprovoked. Nicole fights with her dad and leaves the house w David again.
a lot of random stuff happens but the BEST bit so far is when the dad tracks where David lives and breaks into his house (more like trap house) that he shares w his mates, and in his room, he has a freaking alter set up with Nicole things. my guy did some arts and crafts to glue Nicole's face on a big poster of the virgin Mary. has her pictures stuck to the wall. then in a box, he has her white panties, the same ones she had on when he took her virginity, a picture he stole from their house w all the family, and the dad realises it's not his face on his own body, instead David glued his own over it. and then there's a red velvet box wrapped in a silver bracelet, with "David's girl" on it, and Nicole's dad realises its the same bracelet he gave his girl a long time ago, and it used to say "Daddy's girl" but now it's scrapped off and says David instead.
David and his mates come over to Nicole's house as revenge and try to break in, David manages to get his hands on her dad and easily over powers him, he even handcuffs him and takes his mouth and feet, then he easily throws him over his shoulders and goes upstairs looking for a terrified Nicole.
David's whole thing is that he came over to take her, in his mind, this is some sort of engagement, so he tells her that it's okay she's crying because all brides cry at their wedding day. and he asks her to say goodbye to her dad, who btw, has a gun pointed at the back of his head, BY DAVID.
David's plan is to shoot the dad and take Nicole. he even says something along the lines off, "You should've let nature take its course, Mister, but that's okay, it will anyway," so I'm David's mind it's only natural to put down her dad because CLEARLY he can't take care of his family well (he works too much, his wife is clearly dissatisfied, his boy misses him, and his daughter too, who had a rough relationship w him years ago because he divorced her actual mum and shit went down)
you can see how good of a concept this is? I would LOOVEEE to write this with Sam as Nicole, and Dean as David, with a fem!Sam maybe? or trans!Sam? and David wants to make her his little bride so bad, maybe he even tries to manipulate trans!Sam to stop dressing like a boy because apparently she's a little confused with her dad not being very present in her life, so it's totally normal for her to try and replace him unconsciously but now that DEAN is here, she can be the little girl she was always meant to be.

In The Dead of Night
Prologue
Tumblr media
Characters: AU Eric played by Bill Skarsgård from The Crow (2024)
Setting: This story is set in A WHOLE OTHER WORLD than the movie. Shelley isn't a part of this story. Eric will be different from the movie, especially because I haven't seen it yet.
Warnings: 18+
Notes: This is really just inspired by Bill Skarsgård's looks as Eric, nothing else.
The black leather in my hand cut into my palm, and as a reflex, I pulled on it to take back control. If I had been able to decide, we would have bought a softer leash for the dog, but Robin had refused. He wanted something more sturdy.
I looked at Odin, our big black Labrador, in front of me. He was just 14 months old and thought I went too slow and that I was a snooze fest, but I tried to teach him to be a good boy, but he wasn't interested.
"Please, can you take him for a while?” I asked Robin, who walked next to me. He made a whiny sound because he used both his hands to fan his warm face. It was a high temperature for being at the end of May, and he didn't handle heat well.
“We should have just let him stay at home," he said with a grunt, taking the leash from my hand. Odin noticed at once that a new, more uncontrolled hand had taken the leash and lurched to gain more freedom, but Robin took control fast and wired Odin into his side instead of letting him walk in front of him like I did.
“I thought your mom had become afraid of dogs?” I asked carefully when Robin and Odin got along. Robin looked at me with his face red from heat but also sunburned. We had been friends for two years, and every summer he got the same shade over his forehead and nose bridge.
“I thought so too, but the nurse said she asked about him. She will probably be terrified when she meets him. He's such an asshole,” he joked, but patted Odin lovingly over the head. I laughed a little and smiled a bit to myself. We had bought Odin together, and he lived with us every other week, like he was a kid traveling between divorced parents, but Odin didn't need to worry about fighting parents because his parents, me and Robin, were the bestest of friends.
"Della?"
“Hm?” I looked up at Robin again. I had disappeared into my world of memories and dreams and hadn't heard him.
“I just want to say again, so you remember, that mom can say some weird things sometimes, and she doesn't mean anything with it and her memory-”
“I know, I know, Robin. I know.” I took his hand in mine and smiled reassuringly. “It's okay. I get it.”
I had never met Robin's mom before. She lived in a home for the elderly even though she was just sixty-five. She had a stroke two years ago, and since then, she has not been herself. It was obvious it pained Robin a lot, but he didn't want to talk about it, so I let it be. He would talk about it the day he felt ready, and this day he was ready for me to meet her. I was a bit nervous because I hadn't met anyone who had been through such a thing and was afraid she would be mean or say something strange that I didn't know how to react to.
The home looked like a smaller institution, but with red brick and apple trees around it. It was obvious it had always been used as an institutional building, but they tried to make it look more welcoming for the elderly with trees and other greenery surrounding the house. Odin started at once playing ball with a small apple and looked at Robin sourly when he kicked away the fruit from him. I thought Robin could be a bit too strict and boring with Odin, but I knew he would just call me too soft if I said something.
Robin held the door for me, and I walked in a bit nervously. I didn't know what to expect, so I looked around.
“Della?”
“Yeah?” I turned around and looked at Robin, who had said my name. He pointed to a sign by the door, with a dog crossed over with a big red cross.
“Do you want to wait out here while I talk to a nurse?”
“Yeah, sure. I walked out again but took a final look at the entrance's cheaply framed posters of colorful birds.
I sat on the ground with Odin while we waited for Robin. Just to look a bit more respectable than I normally used to do, I wore a floral dress that stopped under my knee; otherwise, I mostly dressed in a pair of sweat-shorts and a tank top, but I didn't want to look like that meeting Robin’s mom. Robin was always nicely dressed, and if I understood things right, his mom liked clothes and nice things too.
Both me and Odin looked up at Robin when he came out of the door. He was dressed in beige chino shorts and a white linen shirt. He always looked fresh.
“She's in the backyard, so we can go around the house,” he said, pointing with his thumb to the left. I nodded a little, and together we walked through the apple trees.
It was a nice backyard with several groups of wooden furniture and flowers in terracotta pots. Older men and women were spread out in the yard, together with staff dressed in light blue scrubs.
“There she is,” said Robin, and he nodded towards a woman sitting next to a nurse in her fifties. His mom was short, with chubby cheeks and blue eyeshadow. I had expected she would look a bit more beige, but she was dressed in a bright purple tunic with white culotte pants. She gave us a big smile when we walked toward her. I was dragged by Odin, who tried to run towards her. He barked loudly when we came up to her, and I could feel many worried looks on us.
“Oh wow, that's a big boy,” laughed Robin’s mom, who looked at Odin with big eyes. I couldn't say if she was afraid or not, but I held him by my leg, refusing him to say hello to her.
“Yeah, he's so much work right now…” Robin sighed and then gave his mom a hug, who had stood up with her arms spread out. The nurse gave us a little smile before walking away.
“Mom, this is Delilah, my friend.”
I smiled at her and put my hand out, even if I would have rather have held Odin’s leash with both hands.
“Girlfriend?” She said with a smile.
“No, friend. I told you that,” said Robin, a little irritated. He was probably irritated and sad over the fact that she at once started to mix things up.
She shook my hand and introduced herself as Lotti, and I smiled my sweetest smile.
“Can I say hello to Max?” She said with a smile, and I looked at her, confused. Robin took a deep breath and then took Odin's leash.
“Max was our rottweiler when I was little. This is Odin, mom.”
His mom looked up at him. She looked confused but smiled anyway, then leaned down to say hello to Odin while Robin held the leash short. It was obvious she got a bit scared, but she just laughed at her own fear.
The nurse, who had been sitting with Lotti earlier, fixed us a table to sit by and also served us all three coffees. It was nice, especially when Odin decided to lay down instead of jumping after bumblebees. Robin told his mom about the hair salon both he and I worked at and about weird customers, and he told her I was a little sister to the boss and owner. I didn't say much because I hadn't worked for several months but didn't want to talk about that with his mother; instead, I just let them talk with each other.
“How is Eric?” Asked his mom when they had come to a natural stop. I looked at Robin with a small, curious smile because I didn't know who Eric was at all. Robin gave me a quick glance. His brows had knitted together, and he sucked his lower lip the way he always did when he was upset.
“Mom… You know, I don't want to talk about that,” he said with a low gaze. His mom looked at him. It was hard to read her because she looked both confused and understanding.
“Oh yes…” she said and nodded. Robin looked at her and laid his hand over hers. When she met his eyes, it seemed like she remembered what he meant.
“He's dead…” she whispered, looking at their hands. Robin didn't say anything; he just sat with his head low. I didn't know what to say because in front of me sat two grieving people, and I wasn't prepared for it at all. After they had looked at each other for a few seconds, Robin took a deep breath and instead asked his mom what she was reading right now. Slowly, they started to talk naturally again, and I could be a part of the conversation, but it felt like something was hanging in the air over us. Even if the sun shone brightly on a blue sky, it felt like a pitch-black thunder cloud hung above us.
×××
While Lotti went to the bathroom, Robin and I sat silent by the table, watching Odin bite in the grass hysterically. He was a lot of work, and if I hadn't been on sick leave from work, I would never have had the energy with his wild behavior.
“Eric is my dad. She forgets all the time he's dead,” said Robin suddenly, and I looked up at him. He continued to look at Odin, and it told me he couldn't really look at me while talking about his father. I had understood his father was dead, but he had never mentioned it, and it wasn't my place to make him talk.
“Oh… I understand that it must be hard…” If we had been sitting closer to each other, I would have given his hand a comforting squeeze or something, but now we sat on different ends of the table.
“Yeah… He died of cancer just a year before her stroke, so I guess it's understandable.”
“It must be hard for you…”
Robin shrugged his shoulders.
“Yeah… But I have my uncle; he's really close. On my mom's side.”
I gave him a little smile, even if he couldn't see. It was tragic that he didn't have any reliable parents when he was just 35 years old, and on top of that, he was an only child. I would never understand his loneliness. I had three siblings and two healthy, engaged parents.
We sat silent until Lotti came out again, carrying a floral dress on a hanger.
“I think you and I might have had the same dress size, Delilah... Robin said that you like vintage.”
I was surprised she knew that and smiled at her, then at Robin, who smiled timidly too.
“What do you think about this dress? If I had a daughter, I would have given it to her, but the most important thing to me is that it gets a new life.”
She held up the dress for me. It had thin straps and a wide skirt. It was probably from the 80s, but with its silhouette, it could have as easily been from the 50s.
“Wow, it's amazing!” I said standing up. I gave Robin a look to see if it was okay and if I had a real interest in it. Maybe he wanted to keep it for another friend, but Robin just smiled.
“Come in with me so you can try it!” Said his mother, enthusiastically, and I laughed shyly. She laid her hand on my back and gave me the hanger, but Robin stopped us before we could walk into her apartment in the elderly home.
“Maybe you can try it at home? We can't go in with Odin,” he said, nodding his head towards the dog.
I gave Lotti a little sad smile, but she looked at her son with annoyance.
“I want to see it on her! I think you can handle being alone with the dog for a moment!”
I looked between them, and Robin gave me a begging look.
“I will do it fast.” Said I to him after seeing Lotti’s hopeful look at me. I really liked the dress, and I got nervous that she wouldn't give it to me if she couldn't decide.
Robin didn't seem to know what to say, and before he had answered, Lotti had given me a friendly push towards the door to the home, and I let her lead me in.
×××
Lotti's home was a one-room apartment with a view over the same yard we had been in. It was obvious it was an interior from her previous home because it stood tight in the room, in different styles and colors. Everywhere, there were frames with art and posters, especially with Asian themes. Robin had told me he had been in Asia a lot when he was younger because his parents loved it, so it didn't surprise me. I walked around, looking at the decorations and her beauty products and jewelry spread out over a messy vanity table next to the bed. Then I looked at the big photo over her bed. There were two men, around twenty-five years old, standing next to each other in front of a viewpoint. You couldn't see much of the view, because the young men were in focus. One of them was almost a head taller than the other and had a look that made it impossible to stop staring at him. He was dressed in a black t-shirt, and almost all the skin you could see was covered in tattoos. His hair was black and stood messy up in different directions. He even had a tattoo over his eyebrow. “Lullaby.”
If I were to say that it was because of his dark look that he stood out, I would have lied because the thing I looked the most at were his eyes. His big, green eyes. They looked sad and wise, like an old man's, even if he probably wasn't over thirty in the picture. They were framed with smudged black eyeliner that made them stand out even more, especially against his clear, alabaster skin. He was beautiful. Model-handsome and at the same time otherworldly beautiful, with high cheekbones and full lips.
The young man next to him paled in comparison to him. It was Robin, dressed in a white button-down and his strawberry blonde hair styled to a perfect backslick. I gave him a fast look, but my eyes got sucked back to the other man quickly. It felt like he lured me in.
“Who is the tall guy?” I asked Lotti without letting him go with my eyes. Lotti didn't say anything while she walked up to me, and then she stared at him the same way I did.
“That's Eric. My other son.”
I turned to her, shocked, even if I could feel the green eyes on me. Lotti breathed heavily, and with a shaky, tearful voice, she said:
“He’s dead.”
×××
Green eyes.
In the dead of night.

Wicked Movie Review
Spoilers Ahead. (Obviously)
Okay, I saw it on opening night release day. I've just been busy. And here are my thoughts:
Pre-watch. I was hoping for the best. The trailers were amazing, and the budget seemed sufficient for all it wanted to do. The vocals seemed a little off, but that was only because they had to make it "fit" for the trailer score. So I had high hopes!
But I was also preparing for the worst. After all, movie adaptations of musicals have a bad reputation for a reason. And all the promotion they were doing? I was certain they were compensating for something. And besides that, I had almost no faith (again, aside from what I heard in the trailer) in Ariana Grande. I don't really listen to her music, but I've heard a few of her songs. I honestly didn't think she could do musical theatre.
And boy, was I wrong.
Post-watch. It. Was. Amazing. I absolutely LOVED it. Ariana CRUSHED it! I think she did better than some Glindas on Broadway! In every scene leading up to the Ozdust Ballroom, I hated her. And I LOVED hating her. I think some Glindas just don't have that hateability, or they're too charming. But not Ariana. And during "Popular"? I absolutely loved it! She was great!
Cynthia Erivo did great, too. Her voice singing the riff at the end of "Defying Gravity" will certainly take getting used to, but it was, objectively, good. Her acting was on point, and I absolutely loved watching her. Say what you will about the woman's poster dilemma, the woman has a powerful presence onscreen. I honestly never doubted her ability.
Some random thoughts:
The script. The script was practically word-for-word of the musical. Some people might find it annoying and predictable. I, for one, found it charming and-- frankly-- reassuring. I knew what was coming a lot of the time, even if they did change some minor plot points (if you can even call them "plot points"; like I said, they were minor and didn't change the course of the story at all). For example, Mr. Thropp doesn't already have Elphaba enrolled at the school in the movie. But because I know how the story goes, I was sitting in the theater saying to myself, "He's gonna say 'go with her'". And guess what? He did.
Unfortunately, the script being word-for-word (and a lot of theatre kids knowing certain lines from the musical) partially ruins the impact or comedy of certain lines. The most notable one was when Fiyero and Elphaba are in the woods with the cub. Elphaba informs him that he's bleeding, and says, "It must have scratched you." He replies, a bit disassociated because of her touch, "Yeah... or maybe... it scratched me or something." Typically, in the theater, Broadway, regional, or high school, the audience laughs at this line. You know how many people laughed at it in the movie theater? Zero. Zilch. Except me. The delivery was AWFUL. I honestly can't believe that Jon didn't have that line reshot. Which brings me to Jonathan Bailey.
Jonathan Bailey is... a good actor? I personally haven't seen him in anything other than Wicked. But I do know that he is a good looking actor. However, I do believe that he was miscast for this role for three reasons. 1) Like I said, the comedy was not exactly there. Another example: "I've been thinking" "So I heard" However, I won't count that one against him, as I feel that one was mostly Cynthia's fault. 2) At first, I thought that Cynthia Erivo would look too old to play Elphaba, but I got over it really quickly. It was easy for me to see her as a college-aged student. And let's be honest, Ariana Grande will always look like a child, so that was never a problem. Jonathan Bailey, though? He doesn't look like a college student. He looks like a really hot 36-year-old man. And this kinda goes into my last point. 3) He was too intentional. I think Fiyero's character is dynamic in a variety of ways, and Jonathan's portrayal seems more like "Act II Fiyero" than "Act I Fiyero". Act I Fiyero's whole deal is that he's extremely loose. And while, yes, Elphaba calls it out as a façade, I think it's still a part of him that is a bit dumb (see the disassociated "scratched" comment or the "thinking" comment). I think if Jonathan had tried to play Fiyero more "dumb jock", it would've worked better, because his natural acting inclination would've counteracted it just enough.
I feel bad for complaining about Jonathan Bailey for so long. So onto the songs! The score was amazing. The music was amazing. The vocals were amazing. My favorite song was "What Is This Feeling?" The camera angles in this scene were amazing, and the choreography slaps so hard.
Right before "One Short Day", I thought to myself, "I sure hope we get an Idina and Kristin cameo!" Guess what happened. Truthfully, I barely heard a word they were singing, I was too busy bouncing in my chair and fangirling with one of my friends to hear them.
If there's someone I didn't mention (I'm looking at you Ethan and Michelle), it's because they did a good job and I don't have any particular opinion on them. Overall, I really enjoyed the movie! My favorite song was "What Is This Feeling", Jonathan Bailey was the weakest part of the movie, and it was a lot better than I thought it would be. And it was really fun to fangirl with other theatre kids.

New Comics Time!
Idk if this is just turning into a bi-weekly thing or not. We shall see.
Comics that are good and I don't have much to say about:
The New Gods #3 - I will be honest I do not remember much of the lore that got dropped but I'm sure it will be interesting later. Also Barda and Scott <3
Catwoman #73 - every time I read Catwoman, I remember that I am just really enjoying it.
Absolute Wonder Woman #5 - The lasso that Circe made for Diana being sacrifice and transformation... I love it and I am chewing on it in my head.
Batman and Robin: Year One #5 - Uh oh! Boy Hostage time :)
Challengers of the Unknown #3 - This book is succeeding in getting me curious about other Challengers comics.
Flash #18 - I enjoyed this issue less than the last one but it's still fun.
Green Arrow #21 - I liked the musing about masks. Very juicy to me.
Comics that are mediocre that I don't have much to say about:
Superman #23 - Williamson continues to write a comic mid enough and that's a quick enough read that I don't care enough to stop reading
Titans #20 - I will be honest, I'm not sure why I keep reading this one.
Question: All Along the Watchtower #4 - The cover is very cool but this comic is just disappointingly okay.
Batman/Superman: World's Finest #36 - I got half way through this and almost didn't finish it. It's loosing my interest. I think that the new regular artist's style has a lot of dynamism is a way that's not great for actually being able to tell what's going on.
Comics I do have more extensive commentary on:
Zatanna #1 - This is a very pretty comic. I feel like a lot of the time when I see Zatanna second hand in my reading it's when she's performing or the designated magic user, so I really liked seeing how this issue dug into the rehearsal process and her putting the whole show together. The lady in white seems like a cool foe and the page with all the movie posters was a very cool visual concept.
Nightwing #123 - The whole chemo bodies mass grave under Blüdhaven is very compelling. I think comics always have an interesting relationship with the concept of radiation just because of how much of their dna comes from an era where we have 'radioactive spider' as an origin. There is radiation as this thing that mutates and gives power and Watters is dabbling with that here with how the flyboyz are effect and yet he's still trying to keep this more serious tone of 'Chemo did nuke the entire city' because it's also killing them. I just find it all to be a very interesting combination.
Justice League Unlimited #4 - This is not a comic I would be spending money on (but that is also like 90% of Justice League comics) but I think that it is nevertheless fun to me because it hits that spot of I like looking at big old crowd shots and playing 'name that hero!' I am not coming here expecting to dig into any character--which is a little disappointing because there are a lot of cool characters in those crowd shots that I would like to see more of!-- but also I can acknowledge the type of book it is. I feel like this is probably not the best spotlight for Tefe but it's cool that she showed up! Also I loved Mr. Terrific's moment of pure relief at the end.
Detective Comics #1094 - This issue had major 'very special episode' vibes and Tom Taylor is over here trying to tell you that 'for profit prisions are bad! He did research!'. I am still not over him having HARVEY BULLOCK give that speech about recidivism rates. I promise you Harvey does not care about any of that. Anyway, the issue was heavy handed, but the Damian and Bruce plot was fun.
Black Canary: Best of the Best #4 - The fight portions of the comic are just an absolute slog to get through. King's commentators have by far overstayed their welcome. The before story is one where I'm really not sure how much it fits in with everything else in Dinah's history, but I did like the texting pages and the joke about Superman's hair did get me laughing out loud in the library which made me feel a little awkward since it's a very small library and it usually has a number of happy children making noise but at the time it was just me and this older guy and was very quiet before hand.

Trap movie theory (or adding to it I guess//ALSO SPOILER ALERT)
Take this whole post with a grain of salt. This is just for fun and I did little to no research on it, just having some overall thoughts. And I only watched Trap once so far and I'm going just based off of what I remember . I recently watched Trap and I really enjoyed it, and it gave me the urge to watch Unbreakable/Glass (I still need to watch Split)
And I really like the theory of Trap being apart of that particular Shyamalan universe.
So I know that color is used as a major component when it comes to the Unbreakable series because of the comic book spin on it
Tumblr media
and Trap follows that same theme.
Cooper/The Butcher (which is a cool villain name)
Has a lot of reds in his color scheme (his red striped sweater/Red flannel) especially the red lights during the concert and the poster itself for the movie
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His power? I honestly think its his ability to escape. He is the literal rat in a maze that will always succeed in getting out. Cooper is always observing and assessing at a skill that's way higher than most. (also very smart/strong) It may be silly but's pretty impressive and fun to watch. Him being a serial killer is just this extra thing lol
Going further with the color scheme I would also include Lady Raven herself. Her name aslo sounds like a super hero name.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She always appears in white. Even during the end of the movie when she meets the Butcher face to face. Her power? Her ability to inspire with just her voice. The way she speaks to her fans when she asks them to turn on their phone light if they've forgiven/let go of something painful, the way she has her fans help her find the trapped man who she also helped calm down enough to remember clues, the end when she sings her final song at Cooper's house she even gets an emotional reaction out of Cooper, and probably even that weird bit in the car where she tries to use what his mother would say against him (Also feel like her weakness could could also be her voice, considering she needs an inhaler. Her strength is her weakness yada yada)
Couple of other points for why I think Trap is apart of the Unbreakable series. Cooper goes on about wanting to kill Raven because she thinks she's 'whole'. Which I'm guessing is his general motivation in his killings considering he leaves everyone in pieces. He also talks about how he didn't feel quite right. Which I feel both points are major themes in the unbreakable series. (The broken/unbroken, finding where you belong, etc)
Another point is that he found his villain/hero relationship with Raven (like The Overseer/Mr. Glass) She's the empathy to his lack of empathy. She was his chosen last kill but is now the one who ironically got away. The only reason I'm not including his wife in this because it felt more like that was more out of anger than his usual M.O.
And lastly the smallest connection ever but I'm adding it here is the pattern of single word movie titles.
LOL and I'm done talking. Wondering what you guy's think or if you'd like to add anything more. Again this was just for fun :)
EDIT: Forgot to add this last bit. M. Night Shyamalan himself. In Unbreakable he is a criminal but looks to have changed his ways in Glass it looks like he got into some sort of security job(If I remember correctly). In Trap it looks like he is a part of the security detail for his niece...OK now I'm done lolol

Hiiii i just saw your Outsiders/Christine art and HOLY SHIT. When i say my jaw was on the floor it was on the floor. I’m a huge Stephen King fan (I’ve only read his books bc to me his books are good enough. I’m not a huge horror movie watcher girlie but i can do thriller/horror books. I have like 8 of his books, including Christine, on my bookshelf) and once again: HOLY SHIT. I can lowkey see the Outsiders trio as the Christine trio. Now whenever i go to reread the book, i can’t view it the same anymore haha. Another Outsiders/Stepehen King art idea for Halloween: 11/22/63. It’s one of my absolute favorite Stephen King novels. And if you haven’t read it, highly recommend it. It’s so intense and entertaining and i do get lost in that book. Anyways, HOLY SHIT. But i was also wondering if you have any tips for beginner digital artists? Like on layers, line art especially, shading etc.? I really want to get into more digital art but my tradional sketches lowkey look better than my digital ones haha. Whenever i see your stevepop or Outsiders art it just gives me a boost of inspiration. And i love them your honor.
Woah, thanks!! I’ll have to check it out- so far I’ve only read Christine and The Body (because my dad’s obsessed w/ Stand By Me), but I really dug both so I’m looking forward to it!
And as for digital art tips, I guess I’d say to keep things loose! I like to use a modified version of the Shale Brush on procreate for my sketches and lineart because it resembles a pencil, and the rough messiness makes it a whole lot easier for me to just relax and draw the way I do on paper. I don’t shy away from messiness especially in digital art- it makes things flow better in a medium that can get really stiff sometimes.
I like to do my sketches in bright colors, and I tend to assign every subject a certain color so I can tell them apart easily (idk how helpful it is, but it works for me!) Then I lower the opacity and draw on a layer on top like this:
Tumblr media
Then I turn off the sketch layer and either fill everything in with base colors, or color it in grayscale w/ this Copic marker brush and varying levels of opacity for my comics.
As for shading, I do a combination of cell shading and painterly shading (picture for the uninitiated lol). Both have their merits, and shadows in real life usually include a bit of both.
Tumblr media
For more simple stuff, I take a shade of either purple or sometimes magenta and cell shade everything with this pencil brush on a multiply layer, usually set to 30-ish% opacity depending on the drawing. Then I’ll blend it out a bit to soften some edges, which is what makes it look painterly. Also if you don’t know, “clipping mask” layers are really helpful for shading! You just put the shading layer over the colors and it stops you from going outside of the colors, it can be super helpful. This method is the one I usually use, and the one I’ve been using since I first started about five years ago now.
For the Christine poster specifically though I mostly just kept everything to one layer and color dropped from the reference, altering the colors as I saw fit- and just sort of guessed for Evie because she’s way tanner than Leigh and needed her own colors. The only times I used different layers were for each individual character so that they didn’t mess each other up, and also for the sketches, which I put on top of the colors but lightened the opacity on. Idk that I’d recommend this for a beginner tho, it’s taken me years to get comfortable working like this!
Sketch is set to a multiply layer here too. You can’t see it super well here tbh, because of how dark everything is, but oh well. Here’s a study I did last year with the same method tho! (Also she’s got some similarities to Evie huh?? I guess I have a type lol oops)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyhow, that’s probably enough for now lol- but lmk if there’s anything else you wanna know! And obviously this is just how I do things, there’s no hard and fast rules for any of this- I’m making it up as I go along, and you should too!!

ok um. Luna Rosa review. ... . ok
first things first i thought the movie started at 5 (WRONG) so i was leisurely sitting in my hostel relaxing when I got this message that made me think about the timings because . hm. yeah. 4?. 5?.
Tumblr media
so I throw on my shoes and run down the street make it there for 25 past. no signs of the movie . I find an escalator up to screen 4 that's turned off and I ask if it's up there they say yeah but you're late it's already started and I'm like 😿😿😿PPS...pls.. and they go you can try whatever . so i RUN up this standstill escalator whole everyone looks at me like I'm insane I dash up to the door and get lost and ask someone else who's like yeah that's it but. idk if you can get in. I walk over to the door and there's a sign that says you can't go in because it's started but I can hear the sound of the movie and oh my god what am I doing I'm just going inside
I run in the place is packed so obviously I'm like erm. first row then so nobody notices me moving a lot I sit bang dead in the middle and start trying to absorb the movie. it is good. lots of people walk out and I almost fall asleep because I'm fucking exhausted . I keep trying to wake myself up to no avail so I go "bro you can't sleep what if Omar was here rn" and I turn to look at the rows next to me because I wanna know if I look stupid where I'm sitting whatever. the first row is empty apart from 1 person who is literally lying sideways fucking asleep ??? what??? i look past them down a seat and huh. huh what. WHAY. WHAT FUCKING OMAR IS SITTING NEXT TO ME ? ? WHAY? HIH? yeah I didn't fall asleep after that lol I was buggin. at one point I was so so so sure it was him that I went in the opposite direction trying to convince myself it wasn't him but ERM. ERM. TJE MOVIE ENDS AND THE Q&A STARTS LIGHTS GO UP HE JUST STANDS UP YEP ITS HIM.
he's also truly a little man. he's tiny. this is good. I spend the next 10 minutes twitching in my seat listening to him talk IN REAL LIFE LIKE 3 METRES IN FRONT OF ME. and then suddenly there's no more questions so I get possessed to ask something lame I fucking forgot what it was or what he said only that it felt like I was being live lobotomized having his personal attention on me talking to me I couldn't speak right or control my limbs I was a mess. IT GETS WORSE.
afterwards everyone is just filing out and only a few people are like. saying something to him so I go ok. I made him a little thing so. I'll go say hi. i try to say hello and everything falls apart the moment he replies and I try to apologise for being late or whatever but yeah it all . is gone. I reach into my bag and pull out this ridiculous fucking envelope covered in butterfly stickers to keep it closed and go "um I make bracelets and I didn't think you did so I made you some um" and I hand this shit to him along with a miniature movie poster that they gave out . I go "oh yeah I've got a pen so if" and then I can't find the pen. and I CAN'T FIND THE PEN BUT I JUST HAD IT BUT IM FUMBLING AROUND TRYING TO KEEP THE CONVERSATION. some other guy takes pity on me and hands me this silver posca (amazing btw) and I get a glittery Omar signed Luna rosa flyer . from the first ever showing . and I sat in the same row as Omar. and gave him kandi bracelets. what. WHAT.
btw he did the little hand on hip thing it was sooo cute . i hope to god nobody recorded that my voice did things I didn't know it could I have never sounded more pathetic than when I had that microphone. I'm gonna go for a nap and dinner now LOL

On October 1st, you decided that you’d try to play a fun little prank on Tony. You had moved in together a few months before and Halloween was going to be one of the first major holidays that you’d celebrate while living together. It was also the first one that you could decorate for.
Tony was not the one who decorated his suite, he had hired an interior designer to design pretty much the whole compound. And while it looked very nice, it wasn’t very personal. Everything was modern and sleek. Blacks and whites and the same shade of blue ran throughout the entire space. It looked straight out of a magazine, but it didn’t look like a home.
So for Halloween, you decided that you would decorate. Without Tony. But you figured it would be too obvious if you did all the decorating at once. That is why, once a day since the first of the month you’ve taken a piece of decor and replaced it. At first, it was small things, you swapped out a random bowl of rocks that was sitting on the bookshelf with a little foam pumpkin. You swapped the towel hanging in the kitchen and even took down one of the paintings in the living room and swapped it with a framed Friday the 13th movie poster. You swapped out boring white candles for ones in pumpkin jars that smelled like cinnamon apples.
You figured that Tony would’ve said something by now. At first, it was fun sneaking around and swapping decor, hoping that when Tony noticed it would be a fun laugh, and then the two of you could decorate the rest of the house together. But he hadn’t said anything, he hadn’t even looked at any of the new decor when you two were spending time together.
You didn’t know what to think. Was he just really oblivious? Did he not care? Was he annoyed that you had swapped things but just didn’t want to say anything? You decided that you would pull out the big guns today and hopefully, he would finally say something.
Tony drank a lot of coffee, but he always drank it from the same mug. It was an Iron Man-branded mug that he was given by a little boy when he visited the children’s hospital for a charity event. He cherishes it, he gets grumpy when it's not clean. And you stole it. You replaced it with a mug that looks like a jack-o-lantern. It even lights up.
You camped out by the island counter, perched on one of the stools that surrounded the side sipped from your own ghost-shaped mug, and waited for Tony to emerge from your room and come to the kitchen.
He walked out in a pair of sweatpants and a Black AC/DC tee shirt that had seen better years. A pair of slippers adorned his feet and his hair was still a little wet in front of the shower. He walked past you, placing a kiss in greeting on the side of your head and running his hand across your lower back as he turned the counter of the floating counter and towards the coffee machine.
You were practically buzzing with excitement as you watched him open the cabinet that held your cups and mugs. He blindly grabbed for the mug that was in the same spot it always was and placed it under the spout that the coffee would come from as soon as the machine finished warming the water.
As he placed it down though you watched him do a double-take. He shot his head back up to the cabinet and turned his head left and right, scanning all the drinkware inside. He searched for his mug for about a minute before he turned towards you.
“Very funny sweetheart. Where is my mug.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” You took another sip out of your own mug.
‘You think I haven't noticed what you’ve been doing?” He asked, walking back around the counter and stopping right in front of you, he took a step forward, forcing your legs apart and sliding in between them. “You think I didn’t notice on day one, that there was a bright orange pumpkin on my bookshelf? You think I haven’t noticed you sneaking around and spookifying my place?” As he questioned you, he pushed his face even closer to yours. You couldn’t really think not when he was so close to you, crowding you being. Filling all of your senses with just him.
“Our place.” was the only response you could come up with.
“Where. Is. My. Mug?” Tony asked, pacing kisses on your lips in between each word. Eventually, he pulled back and you could see the soft smile on his face. Now that he wasn’t the only thing you could see or smell, the rest of your brain started to come back online.
“Wait. You noticed? You noticed and you didn’t say anything? Tones I was seriously beginning to doubt your observational skills.” You were incredulous. He had known the whole time? “Why didn’t you say anything?” You asked him.
“Because you were having so much fun. Sneaking around, thinking you were getting away with it. Sweetheart, you were so happy, I didn’t want to burst your bubble.”
“That is sweet. But I’m not going to lie I’m still a little upset.”
“Well we can’t have that, can we?” He adopted a stupidly handsome pout and looked into your eyes, “What can I do, sweetheart I don’t want you upset.”
You smiled widely. “Well Halloween isn’t for a few more days, and I have a lot more decorations hidden in my office. Help me put them up?” And he did. The two of you spent the rest of the day decorating the suite, watching spooky movies in the background, and laughing together.

i wrote the end of hhsau. before i wrote the beginning. ofc i did. kinda like an epilogue? anyway uh yeah here it is
Rabbi had gotten into UCLA. He would attend their art program, all the way out in California. It was weird, seeing his childhood room full of boxes. His posters were stripped from the wall and stuffed into boxes, along with his books and computers and his favorite stuffed lion. It was exciting, the idea of going somewhere new. But it also scared him. It was like he was leaving his whole life behind. It made him finally say goodbye to the group, too. Even though it had dissolved almost a year ago, it felt like he could still pretend that he would be seeing them tomorrow. But now he was moving.
Mary was going to California too. She and Rabbi were still together, and neither could imagine a world without the other. She was going to a different school for her English degree. And she was going to write a book. A book about growing up and moving on but never forgetting those she lost. She sat on Rabbi’s old bed, stroking the covers lightly. So many memories. Memories of movie nights and quiet mornings, of birthday parties and funerals. Memories of laughter and crying and love and loss. Memories that she would always keep and cherish, even as she moved away.
Ruth went searching. For what, she didn’t know. She had a lot to find, after all. Rabbi and Mary had invited her to go with them to California, but she had said no. She wanted something new, something fresh, some to exhilarating. She was tired of the stale dullness of life that seemed to stifle her every move. And she was tired of the constant reminders of him that seemed to be everywhere. So she left, looking for meaning in every new place she went.
Erich was getting better , a little at a time. He was in a different place surrounded by different people, but he still had his Lesh by his side. His parents had suggested he move in with his aunt up in Maine to have some time away from the town. It was quieter and more peaceful  there, and it gave him space to think. There was so much he hadn’t processed about what had happened. The doctors said it would take time. He still felt the pressure to do well. He still felt anxious about most things. And he still didn’t quite know what he wanted to do. But that could wait. For now, he just needed to live.
Lesh went with him. Erich had asked him to, and he’d be damned if he didn’t say yes. They had done everything together, all the way from daycare to graduating high school. And he loved him. There were days when it was harder, dayss when one might be tempted to give up. But that wasn’t an option. Not after all they had gone through. They had both grown so much through the years, for the better and the worse. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t sometimes wish he could go back to simpler times. But he was happier now. And he had Erich. And was something he wouldn’t trade the world for.
Harry always kept pushing, even when he shouldn’t. But after so many rejections, he finally landed a part at a theater 50 miles north off town. It was freeing in a way, being able to be someone else. And was good at it. It felt wonderful to be good at something. And he kept pushing. Each new role was like a new chance at life, a new space for him to breathe in. He craved the attention he got, basking in every cheer and clap. But he was lonely. He needed someone to truly love who he was, not who he pretended to be. So he kept pushing.
Bobby was the last one to leave. He couldn’t, not without leaving his sister behind. He had promised her that one day, they would leave together. And on the night of her sixteenth birthday, they did. They fled hand in hand, each with a backpack stuffed with clothes and food. And they kept moving. With the money they had saved, they managed to stay alive. They lived out of an inn far from their hometown, eating whatever they found in the vending machine. And they were free. He got a job soon enough, and his sister did too. And despite working constantly and having to skip meals, they were happy. They were happy because they didn’t have to worry about being silent to stay safe. They were happy because they could go to sleep without fearing that their father would burst through the door. And they were happy because they had each other.
Chopin stayed under the willow tree. It was the one behind the church, the pretty one with purple flowers that he had always loved. He stayed there, unmoving as the seasons passed. He stayed there as the sun rose and fell a million times, remaining as unchanged as the stars in the night. Erwin “Chopin” Bootz, born 2007, died 2024. Those were the words carved into his headstone as he lay beneath the willow tree.

Agatha all along episode 6 Part one
Familiar by thy side
It was beautiful and honestly answered a lot more questions than I expected it to do.
Seeing Agatha from Teens perspective was hilarious.
Both Williams was handled very beautifully and Joe did a fantastic job!
The chair that resembles a toilet seat at William’s Bar Mitzvah really throws me out of it though. I’ve seen it about six times now and I just can’t with that chair. Who saw that chair and went, yes this is it?!
Billy is going through a blue drapery to get to a mostly red space about his future. I see what you did there.
Also I love the lamp
Lilia herself in gold and blue, no necklace.
Very nice blue and red colours together in Lilia’s tent.
Also notice the tower tarot card, representing Sudden change, upheaval, chaos, revelation and awakening.
And The wheel of fortune card, representing karma, good luck, life cycles, destiny and turning points. Notice that I’m not a that good at tarot so I may get it wrong.
Also more sun symbolism with Lilia
Upside down Billy
Lilia says the tower reverse, a big personal change and transformation coming. Make total sense
Lilia just remembering something, once again, kin implies she exists out of time, what is time for her, how does she experience it, can she affect it?
I yelled when Billy said he loved the vibe in the tent, very early Argento. I had to take a break.
Argento, the director and writer of Suspiria, the witch movie which was the inspiration for episode 4.
This is huge! This indicates that it’s actually Billy that keep the road in movie/tv-themes, not Wanda or any leftover of her spells. Which we also see mote of later in the episode.
Of course, now we have new questions.
Like does he know?! Or is he trying to cope with losses like his mom?
The sigil is interesting, (not just because it’s a beautiful nod as a W or WW) but does it hide Tommy too? Since neither Wanda or Billy can find him. Also notice how later Agatha will say there are two of you, implying the are one or two pieces of a whole.
Why does Lilia want to hide them?
Interesting that the radio air the first episode of WandaVision.
William shouting “mom, look out” as they get in the car crash. Don’t touch me!
And the dome and the dead tree by the car. Beautiful but hurts.
Red glass shards. Once again beautiful but hurts.
Bye Tommy
ALICE! Good to see you darling!
Greg knowing what’s up.
WILLIAM/BILLY’s room!
His signature blue
The movie posters and the actual wizard of oz toys in his bookshelf.
I started writing down all the movie posters but some were obvious or too hard to make out so I let it go.
Eddie being cute.
Freak like momma.
And he taking everything Billy tells him better than I would have.
Nice trans flag.
Now as he have grown up, it’s all horror movies and the occult.
We’re off to my second scream and had to take a break in this episode.
But first, their usernames? lol. They worked hard on those two.
Ralph/Randall/Pietro/Peter (in my culture we have a saying that goes, a loved child has many names.) You are doing great sweetheart!
I gotta admit I thought they were gonna let us wait for VisionQuest to see him again. I’m thrilled!
Not really a fan of the red hair they gave him but, I get it. It matches Wanda
Also, love his stealth, very stealthy.
Nope, sorry Ralphie, can’t call a a kid Bub when you willingly goes online as Bohnerrific69. There are rules. And also made me google that just to get the spelling correctly.
Notice how he talk about Wanda, ge calls it sad but he talks gently about her and the one he is actually actively angry about is Agatha.
Also notice how when Billy asks about if it changed him or if he can do stuff now, he gets very serious for a moment and ask him what he is talking about.
Billy, I need to know if that water actually hurt you.
And never, ever yell Mr. Bonherrific.
I really can’t make out what Ralphie is shaking? First. Thought it was mr Dibbles or hoped. lol
The market value? Hon, she is still in the house! Priorities here.
My sweet baby, but yeah, keeping Monica in the attic was a bit much.
RIP Sparky. It was Ralph all along.
Speedster and mind reading brother. Babies!
Wanda is dead, sure jan.
Not the blu-ray collection!!!
Another movie buff in the Maximoff family. I get emotional writing this.
Agatha can keep his Bow-Flex, thread mills. Funny, not liked he needs it.
Go to his one man show in Paramus please!
Dreadit lol
Down the road baby!
