6. What weather does your PC prefer? Why?

Overcast/stormy days were a fave before the game because of the gloomy atmophsere they gave & it made it easier to fall into the shadows while tracking his bounties. Post game they're a fave because on the stormiest of days he's able to be outside with Astarion with some caution.

10. How does your PC fidget?

He will forever be fiddeling with his weapons they are rarely ever in their straps if they've stopped for a break.He runs his fingers over the edge of his blades/spins his arrows around before the others tell him to put them away. Just likes to keep a hand on a weapon at all times.

12. If your PC had to set up a date, what would they plan for it?

He is sooo inexperienced with dating, hasn't had many people he could say he's 'dated'. Would not have much of a clue when it comes to typical dating rules/ideas so would probably just try to spend doing something they both enjoy, or taking a walk through a quiet part of town before going home for a nicer dinner than normal. any time spent together is considered a date to him he is big on quality time.

16. What scents do you associate with your PC? 

He would always be smelling of dirt/various plants that he's been tending to for his poisons which luckily to most would just have them think he's a keen gardener. through the game though blood sticks to his clothes, the materials he wears dont make for the easiest to clean and back in the city he got his work done without coming into contact with blood usually.

30. How does your PC flirt? 

badly no but he doesn't have the best charisma and any flirting he's done in the past relied more on looks than his words but again he's not too practiced or interested in flirting and was sort of stumbling through the affections of Astarion & Halsin. his approach is to just keep things going if someone comes onto him.

39. What would your PC put on their pizza? 

he is a plain guy he only vibes with a margarita like me

after failing his test a few too many times he would get some random second hand that he doesnt totally hate the look of. preferable a grey one but he would not be a massive car person.

words! when it comes to platonic affection and lots and lots of touch with a partner. He ends the game pretty much attatched to gale at the hip. hes just tall enough to rest his chin on gales shoulders if he hugs him from behind & he loves sitting close enough for their legs to touch around the fire.

15. How does your PC feel about marriage? Weddings?

the moment gale said ily and showed him waterdeep Fennel was writing his vowes in his head. he finds two matching bands and keeps them in his pocket for the rest of the game. he worries about his past all through act 1 & 2 and once he finds out who he was and has the support of the others it gives him the confidence to put it behind him and he knows that he wants a meaningful future with gale, even with the small amount of time theyve spent together.

17. What are your PCs favorite fruits?

Blueberries. he'll gather a whole basket and eat them in one evening.

I think he would hate read his durge days. remince over the span of the game skipping him killing alfira and stop the moment the book catches up with the present.

My Rating (out of five stars): *** 

Although there is nothing spectacular about this film, I did find myself engrossed in it all the way through. I’m a big dork who has always found the history of building railroads and telegraph lines in early 19th century America kind of thrilling. In just a few years it totally transformed a country it was believed would take hundreds of years to populate. I also wanted to watch it because I love Sterling Hayden. Overall, it’s not a bad way to spend 90 minutes, even if it’s no cinematic masterpiece. (some spoilers)

The Good 

Kasey Rogers! She was the revelation of the film for me. She took a role that could’ve been boring and thankless and elevated it to one of the most interesting. I was really impressed with her acting. Reading about her in real life only increased my affection for her. She was on Bewitched in the 1960s, she was pretty liberal, and she wrote several books. Most badass of all, she got interested in Motocross racing in the 1970s and worked at getting more women into the sport! She helped establish the first association for a women’s pro-league! I found a new love! 

Sterling Hayden as a bad guy. I like him a lot as an actor, but he was so good at making me hate him in this! The gross fuzzy beard he wore definitely helped though! 

Edmond O’Brien. He was effective as a tough frontier dude- he really looked the part. He’s so much of a man’s man, I didn’t find him all that attractive personally, but I think a pretty boy type wouldn’t have worked as well in the role. 

I liked the hint of the romance that happened in it. We saw no kiss or direct evidence of it beyond a little flirting. A slight arm around the waist was more emotionally stirring than a smooch would have been. 

The story was interesting and filled with constant back and forth combat. There were several impressive explosions, and I’m not someone who’s really into that stuff. The movie didn’t give you time to get bored, even if you could fairly easily predict the final outcome. 

The use of real trains was also impressive. Most of them did not appear to be models. 

There was also a lot of nice location footage. 

Technicolor always looks better inside a studio than outdoors, but I thought it looked quite good here. 

The Bad: 

The “good guy” “bad guy” stuff was a little too simplistic at times. There weren’t many grey areas to add complexity.  

It wasn’t too difficult to predict how everything would turn out in the end. 

There were sooo many gunfights! Yes, I know it’s a western, and gun flights are obligatory, but I got pretty bored with them after a while. 

All the extra-legal stuff! It was brought up several times that Vesser should wait to let the law handle things rather than become a billboard for vigilante justice. I kept hoping the film wouldn’t reward him or glorify him for maneuvering outside the law. It did reward him, unsurprisingly. Worst of all, the Sheriff tried to give him some legal repercussions at the end, but when the General in charge of the whole project said, “You’ll have to arrest me too,” the Sherriff totally backed down. So not only did vigilante justice win in the end, it won by proving the law is less important the more power you have. That’s certainly true in real life, but I didn’t like that it was portrayed as a positive thing in this movie! 

The comedy relief characters fell flat to me. I like Zasu Pitts, but her escapades with the Irish engineer made me cringe instead of laugh. 

Re: the movie poster, who was Laura Elliot? Shouldn't the name Kasey Rogers have been there? Wait, I just figured it out- Rogers was billed under the stage name Laura Elliot earlier in her career. Huh.

It was funny, cuz, y’know, in comparison to DA:O where the END OF THE WORLD is hanging above your head at all times, I felt the pacing was considerably more relaxed in 2. And in retrospect, it definitely was building up in ways you weren’t quite piecing together (Or am I dumb? That’s usually the case) as you aren’t even sure why you have the derogatory title from cassandras mouth of Champion. Champion, of fuckin what? I do chores for people.

So like most of the game feels like you’re chilling. Talk to some people, do some small quests, learn some lore.

Then like, the qunari attack happened. Which, I assume happens regardless, correct? Man that statue of me looks douchey as hell. Flaming sword?

ANDERS CAN SUCK SHIT. That fucker lied to me? and made everything OH SO MUCH FUKIN WORSE. Oh boohoo I want to rid justice, distract her so I can MURDER PEOPLE ACTUALLY INSTEAD?? Like, MAN, I really like him on paper, healer of the needy, activist, cat lover. But he is so warped in his thinking and self hate. Also I know I joked about this somewhere but our second conversation ever (first one being when I met him) he gives me a big speech about how he could see us together but how he’s so bad he’s a monster boohoo so i need to stay away from him romantically and I’m standing there like.......yeah ok man. 

I SHOULD HAVE KILLED HIM - I was legit SO mad he did that. Everything was bad as is, and he made it worse. If I hadn’t have helped in that quest would it still have happened? AUGH. Almost everyone wanted him dead but I still felt bad. Of the companions, I think i bonded with him and sebastian the least. I tried really hard to side with the mages, cuz, i’m a mage, i dont think magic is bad but bad people can have magic, and Meredith IS a dick and instigated it, BUT THERE IS SO FUCKING MUCH BLOOD MAGIC IN KIRKWALL, WHY.

AND FUCKIN SEBASTIAN - SO MAD - was like if you let him live i’m coming back with an army to attack. like...bro what happened to being a peaceful monk or whatever the shit? I thought I told you taking the crown wasn’t worth it if you don’t want it? fuckin jude law looking motherfucker. But i barely played with him and i figured anders healing would be useful for the end. so, i took anders with me. So now I guess I’m gonna hear in inquisition about this dude coming in to attack kirkwall later idk SIGH

So yeah, I tried to side with Orison. Then that bitch ass gave in to blood magic too and turned into that disgusting abomination. I HATE when you try to defend someone and they too turn into a jackass. Fuck you, man. And Meredith of course is off her rockers with red lyrium. I hate all of these people. I tried to save the decent mages where I could and that bit me in the ass with one of them at the end FUCK YOU, UNGRATEFUL.

since I’m sooooooo good at these games (how am I so so so bad??) Hawke basically...lost everyone. I didn’t officially romance anyone. Though in the epilogue, it says everyone eventually splits from Hawke except Isabela. I figured she had a soft spot for me. I think I couldn’t fully romance her because I didn’t get her the boat? Idk. I didn’t like the romance system in this game. Like, yes it makes sense for story plot reasons but it’s terribly confusing for someone not in the know and I hated looking at guides because they had spoilers.

My mom got murdered by a serial killer blood mage, r.i.p. My sister is dead. I am SO surprised Carver sided with me in the end. I thought he was genuinely about to pick being a templar over me and fight. I TRIED TO BE SO NICE TO THAT FUCKER.

i’m surprised cullen sided with me too. the few interactions you have with him in origins and here he’s kind of a dick. and i know all that shit going on with his VA so i am not stoked for him in inquisition

I tried/failed to romance Fenris. Man, I got SO attached to him?? He tries so hard to be grumpy but you get under his skin. Every time he called me his friend or smiled I was like YES, YOU FUCKER, YOU LIKE ME. But being a mage is such a cockblock. FUCK. I’m definitely kissing him next time.  But I can at least brag that I guess I did his companion quest correctly enough and he was maxed out cuz he didn’t leave me. He seemed begruding that he was gonna defend mages but he was gonna do it for ME. BFFs til the end.

how the fuck did fenris turn around and settle for compromise while anders was still pissy as hell? I guess anders just feels so much for others. also the whole tranquil shit was sooo fucked. Also I love they’ve known each other for 6 years and they’re still disgustingly snippy with each other - FIGHT!!!!

I thought this game was going to end with assigning a new viscount. ANd I was like man that sucks, Sid isn’t the type for permanent responsibility like that but like, if it’ll get everyone to shut the fuck up ok. But...that wasn’t the ending. I hope that gets addressed in inquisition? I felt like that kinda got cliffhanger’d. Also I’m assuming Aveline had to run too being she was associated with me so the guard is probably in shambles too.

anyway, I would die for varric, and while I understand the story reasons for not letting him be romancable, it still sucks cuz he pairs SO well with a snarky Hawke, sigh

It was confirmed. Your boyfriend was insane. Like, he was actually insane. I mean, who goes to a random cabin in the forest? Especially when the forest is called ‘Witches Forest’? And to add to his insanity he wanted to actually camp out in the forest instead of staying in the cabin. It was times like these that I questioned my love for him.

“I can’t believe you convinced me to do this.” I said to Colby from the back seat of his car.

Corey was on the left of me and Jake was on the right.  

He just laughed at me from the driver’s seat.

“I have my ways.”

Jake made a face of disgust.

“Ew, not in front of Shrek guys!”

The car instantly filled with laughter at his joke. Once we calmed down Sam spoke.

“I’m gonna start filming, everybody ready?”

We all nodded. That was all Sam needed as he pulled out the camera from his backpack and pressed record.

“So guys, we just went into town to go grab some supplies and food and as you can tell, it’s obviously dark right now,” He said while spinning the camera around so the viewers could see the sky. “But, here’s just a little snippet of how dark it actually is.”

And with that, the lights were turned off. Once they were turned off it immediately got ten times crazier and scarier.

“Holy shit.” I whispered under my breath in shock.

“It’s pitch black.” Jake.

“You really can’t see anything, not even a silhouette.” Sam.

“Holy fuck guys.” Corey.

“And on that note were gonna just step outside and turn the lights back on.” Colby.

We all started to gather the supplies that we bought once outside. I was in charge of carrying the food.

“On our way to death!” I shouted at the group while leading the way into the forest.

Setting everything up went by quicker than I had expected. Most of it was done by Colby, but hey I wasn’t complaining. He looked hot doing it.

“I can’t believe how fucking foggy it is out.” I stated to the group as we sat around the fire that Colby made.

I was snuggled up in Colby’s lap, a grey blanket wrapped tightly around us. Sam sat next to us on our right while Corey was once again on the left. Jake was directly in front of us.

“That just makes this entire experience even more creepy.” Jake responded.

Sam was recording everything. He didn’t want to miss anything important. Once Jake finished his sentence Sam panned over to Colby and I on the chair.

“So brother, ready to start the ritual?”

Colby’s arms tightened around my waist as he nodded.

“I’m ready whenever you are brother.”

I looked between the two of them, confusion was evident on my face. I thought they said that there wasn’t gonna be anymore rituals? Corey seemed to have had the same thoughts as me because he looked confused as well.

“Ritual?” We both said at the same time. The only difference was I was a little louder.

Jake laughed, “Jinx.”

“It’s a good ritual, I promise you guys,” Sam told us. “This ones supposed to cleanse us of any demons or spirits that have attached themselves to us. It’s like trying to start new.”

I was even more confused and also a little angry. Burning? Isn’t that something your not suppose to do with spirits? Doesn’t that just make them more angry and powerful?

“You guys are nuts! I know for a fact that your not supposed to do that. Anything that has to do with fire makes the spirits or whatever they are more angry and powerful!” I whispered shouted at them.

“She’s right ya know,” Corey said. “I feel like fire and spirits just don’t mix well. I mean think about what happened when we tried to burn the Ouiji board.”

Sam just shook his head in disagreement.

“Guys, you're being ridiculous. This is just supposed to cleanse us. All we have to do is burn something that is associated with whatever spirit we think is attached to us.”

My mouth dropped open in shock. Sam was on crack.

“Do you believe that?” I asked turning my head to face Colby, who surprisingly was silent this whole time. “I mean, I think out of all people you should know better after all the scary shit that’s happened to you in the past when you’ve mixed fire with demons.”

Colby just rolled his eyes at me.

“Babe, it’s fine, alright. Besides, what’s the worst that can happen?”

Was this boy on crack to? Did they do it together?

“The worst that can happen?” I scoffed while mocking his voice. “I don’t know Colby, the worst that could happen is we could all get possessed or just make more demons be attached to us or worse we could get killed!” I retorted to him. If only looks could kill.

“Stop shouting,” He mumbled. “Do you have to be so loud all the goddamn time?”

I glared even harder at him. Out of all the people he should know that when I’m scared I start to talk really loud.

“Yes I have to be loud ‘all the goddamn time,’ I shouted while using my fingers as quotation marks when I mocked him. “It seems to be the only way your gonna listen to me.”

He scoffed.

“You can’t tell me what to do babe.”

“And you can’t tell me what to do either.”

Two can play at his game.

Colby was about to say something else that would probably get him in even more trouble but Sam interrupted him. The camera was still in his hands recording the two of us.  

“Guys, just calm down okay?” His eyes were filled with worry. He hated seeing us fight. “Let’s just all take a couple of deep breaths alright?”

Colby and I both nodded at him and took a deep breath in.

“Exhale on the count of three, Ready?”

We nodded.

“One, two-,”

Sam didn’t even get to three because all of a sudden Colby let out a loud gasp and flung himself backwards. Unfortunately he took me with him.

“Dude, you alright?” Sam.

“What’s happening?” Corey.

“What the hell brother? And Y/N you good?” Jake.

“What the fuck babe?” Me.

Colby was panting by the time he stood up from the ground.

“Shadow person. I saw one, right behind Jake.” He was pacing back and forth.

Sam just looked up at him with a questioning look?

“Really dude? Did you actually see one? Cause I feel like you're shitting me.”

Colby immediately stopped his pacing and threw his arms out.

“Why would I do that?” He shouted at him. “I literally have no reason to do that to you.”

It was quiet for a moment. We didn’t know what to do.

“Alright then,” Sam spoke. “Let’s go after it.”

As soon as Sam said that Colby rushed over and grabbed the green XPLR backpack and threw it over is shoulder.

“Someone needs to stay here though. Watch the fire.”

“Corey.” Sam, Colby, Jake and I said in union.

He just groaned.

“Fine, but I’m only giving you guys like five minutes.”

And with that Colby took off into the woods.

“Babe, wait up.” I called out to him not even waiting for Sam and Jake. I didn’t want Colby to get lost.

“Babe! Slow down!” I shouted to him again as we made it to the path.  

“There’s no time to waste Y/N. We gotta hurry cause I don’t wanna lose him!”

I could barely hear him at this point. He was way down the path and his light was slowly getting dimmer and dimmer. And I was slowly running out of breath.

I could only keep up with him for so long before I had to sit down and take a breather. Damn, I needed to exercise more. I wasn’t worried yet because I could just slightly make out his light. I figured if I just sat down for a minute and caught my breath I would be good and I could just get up and still follow his little light down the path.

I must’ve been sitting for too long because once I got up I could no longer see his light. Which wasn’t good because A) Colby’s off on his own, which is never a good thing and B) I was by myself, which also is never a good thing.

“Shit,” I muttered to myself.

I held up my lamp and did a three sixty spin. I couldn’t really see anything except for a bunch of trees. And some fog. Once I stopped I stood still and listened for any sign of the guys. A couple of seconds went by and I heard nothing. Great. I was really alone and lost.

“Don’t panic,” I told myself while taking deep breaths. “Panicking only going to make things worse.”  

I had just started to calm down when my light had gone out.

“Dammit,” I whispered while shaking the lamp. “Come on, please turn back on.” Of course, it didn’t listen.

So, not only was I lost in the woods, I was also lost and in the dark. I decided that my only chance of getting out of this situation was to try and start making my way back to the fire. Hey, maybe on the way there I’ll run into Sam and Jake. I chuckled. If only my luck was that good.

I was just about to start walking forward in the opposite direction that Colby ran when I heard a blood curdling scream. I immediately froze up. Once the sound stopped the woods got dead silent again.

Tears sprung to my eyes. I didn’t want to move, but I knew I had too if I wanted to find my friends and maybe boyfriend.

Shit, this was gonna be a long walk back to the fire. If I even made it back.

i've always wanted to try the black sesame milk tea, but our stores don't have it as well... hopefully, they will keep up and add more varieties or i get to travel somewhere with more options!

mine is always 100% sugar and less ice😊 i do prefer milk tea over fruit tea but here in Brazil it seems like those are more popular along with fruit-flavored popping bobas, so milk tea doesn't get that much love on stores. people love matcha as well, but for me it has to be really well mixed, otherwise it will separate and get an odd consistency of flavor...

black sesame is so good but when it has the right balance! if there’s too much sesame it tastes.... too much? like i have only tasted 2 or 3 great sesame milk tea and that’s a shame because when it’s done perfectly, it’s absolutely delicious! 

and yeah i totally get you on the fruit thing oh my god!! i don’t understand why people get fruity bobas like every time i get one i’m like “it’s fine but i kinda want my milky boba :/” i think it has to do with the fact that people do not like to associate tea and milk. it makes u think of british people who pour their god damn early grey in a pool of milk and it makes u go :/ my flatmate hated to mix tea and milk at first and she was judging me when i had boba because yeah, the mix of the two sound weird? slowly but surely, she changed her mind and now she loves boba lol! but yeah every time someone goes like “i don’t like boba”, i ask them what they got and it’s always a fruity boba!!!! yeah it’s underwhelming, it’s “kinda” just a cold tea you make at home

An argument for Freezerburn (Part 1) - Connections and Parallels

As the Freezerburn ship has been gaining more steam @toomuchfreetyme2 and myself have decided to put out there our long running argument for a Weiss and Yang pairing. (For recent and die hard shippers, or just anyone who likes to read a good RWBY theory)

Disclaimer: This argument is not us saying that we don’t like or think bumblebee isn’t a viable ship or relationship. It has it’s own song, sooo yeah…. not really wanting to go there. Nor can anyone but the writers say whether any of the three are queer or are even interested in each other. This is just us making a case for a ship. So if you’re just here to defend your favorite ship, troll, or hate the freezerburn ship, then move along this post isn’t for you. (Warning minor V5 spoilers)

It makes for a better story

1. A love triangle with Blake, Yang, and Weiss would add more drama and complications. Thus providing the writers with a potentially more interesting story to tell. This would not exclude the possibility of a Bumblebee relationship, but would create more obstacles for either pairing to overcome. If you want to argue that RWBY isn’t a love drama that is a fair point, but this could be a series long undercurrent in the story that gets resolved towards the end. We are fans of the slow burn romance anyhow. *cough* “Recovery” fanfic *cough cough* Shameless plug aside, it is sort of unavoidable that as they grow up some of them will want to take romantic partners. IF the advancement of years in the story keeps the same pace then eventually they will be in their mid-twenties by the time all of this wraps up. It would be odd if most of them didn’t end up in a relationship of some sort after that much time, whether that would be a short thing or a more sustained relationship.

2. Additionally, a love triangle would involve the whole team. If Blake and Yang end up being a thing then that is a single love interest. Obviously there would be turmoil that the two would have to work through, but that would mainly be dealt with through those two specific characters. Ruby and Weiss would probably put in their two sense or be a shoulder to cry on, but otherwise it would be mostly a Blake/Yang problem. If Weiss was thrown into the romantic mix then that would cause even more conflict. To the point that, as the leader, Ruby would have to do something. In addition it would be her sister and her partner/best friend potentially being involved, which would be a lot more awkward for her than just having to deal with it being with another member of her team. 

3. It is a great Team STRQ parallel. As far as parallels go, the colors and personalities (as far as we know) match up really well. Yang (yellow) is obviously Taiyang who had a relationship with Summer and Raven. Blake (black) is obviously Raven with their similar tactic of runny away and being the quite literal dark and brooding types. We could even use Blake’s association to the White Fang and her sense of duty and responsibility towards the organization as a very direct parallel to Raven’s loyalty to her bandit tribe. We are pairing Ruby and Qrow, no not Ruby and her mom, sorry it seems a bit too on the nose for us and doesn’t seem to work for multiple reasons. The main one being that as time has gone on we have seen just how similar Ruby is to Qrow, in addition to the fact that she sees him as her mentor. This is an instance of their colors not matching up directly, but there is a similarity in the color scheme used in their character designs. Ruby being dressed in reds, blacks and dark greys. Qrow has light Grey, but also implements black and red in his outfit. Design aside, Ruby even has the same very rare weapon type as her uncle. That would leave Weiss’s parallel to be Summer (White). We don’t know a lot about Summer, but it would make the most sense. While we don’t know how Taiyang and Summer ended up together, we can make some logical assumptions from the context given. It is most likely that Winter was always there for Taiyang and had feelings for him, and when Raven left Tai finally realized what Summer meant to him. We do also know that Yang calls Summer super mom, she baked cookies and was really great mom, but also was an expert huntress. Sounds like a certain heiress that usually has to be perfect at everything and wants to be a huntress and an heiress at the same time, yet still cares about their group like a family even though she isn’t the leader who has the job of keeping everyone together. A final thought on the parallels (a big assumption, but interesting nonetheless), Tai and Summer were probably the only two not lone wolfing it in team STRQ. Ruby and Blake are always going off on her own, much like we imagine a young Qrow and Raven might have been. 

4. Lastly, it is almost weird how often Weiss and Yang always seem to end up paired together. Volume 1 they were together for hours off screen while they were searching for Blake. Volume 2 they were together for, again, many hours as they planned the dance together. Volume 3 they would have had to have spent lots of extra time together as they trained for the doubles match. And finally in Volume 5, who are the first two of team RWBY to meet back up again? Weiss and Yang. It’s like the writers can’t stop pairing them up off screen. And I feel like all this time together has started to show. In Volume 5 Weiss has had quite a bit of physical contact and familiarity with Yang. It is yet to be seen if this will be extended to the rest of the crew, but it is interesting coming from the ‘ice queen’ of the group.

Opposite Attract (Yin and “Yang”)

1. There is the Opposites Attract trope, which in itself is a fun trope. However the show itself not only uses this trope in a lot of their on screen relationships, but uses the theme of opposites and balance a lot. We have the gods of light and dark, the classic battle of good and evil, humanity versus monsters, even nature vs technology. The theme even follows into our traditionally paired characters: Arkos had the bad ass and… well Juane. We have Raven, the kickass and stubborn bandit queen who can literally teleport across the the globe with Tai the maternal cargo-pants dad that seems to stay stuck in one place. The most blatant one is Ren and Nora, the zen ninja that can cast “Calm Emotions”, and Nora the ‘charged up’ and hyper warrior/tank. So the argument and theme of opposites is an important one, and even more so is the balance the two are supposed to achieve. 

2.  Weiss and Yang are very stereotypical opposites, but also have many subtle similarities. This argument could and has been made for Blake and Yang already, but the Weiss and Yang pairing takes it to a pretty clear cut and tropie level. Which feels fitting for the show.

3. Opposites - They are literally fire and ice, warm and cold temperaments on the surface, common and upper class, street smart and academic, happy but nontraditional close family and unhappy distant nuclear family, open minded and close minded (initially), happy-go-lucky and tsundere.

4. Commonalities - stubborn, loyal, expert/ best fighters on their team due to rigorous training, have an unknown or unreachable path but just want to be fighters. They’re also very maternal, but in opposite ways. Where Yang is encouraging and doting, Weiss is quick to pick up on her team mate’s issues and force them to address the problem. (Ex: Blake in Vol. 2 and in Vol. 5 with Yang)

5. In our opinion this lends itself to the two being a very interesting couple. Bumblebee has a claim on this argument as well; the ‘opposites attract trope,’ but Freezerburn’s claim is just as good.

Internal Issues (Psychological Trauma)

1. Weiss has been and would probably always be there for Yang. When she saw Yang in danger during the doubles match she threw herself into a lava geyser. Despite witnessing Yang attack Mercury she immediately and fervently defended her saying, “Yang would never do that!” Finally in a recent episodes we have seen Weiss be openly affectionate and supportive of Yang and the things she is dealing with. Blake is hurt and frankly traumatized by Adam. She sees the similarities between him and Yang: They’re both charismatic, popular, have similar abilities, and quick to anger. It would be odd for her character not to notice these things, like she did. But it also makes it difficult (not impossible) for her to build true trust with Yang. 

2. Which leads to the goliath in the room, Yang clearly has abandonment issues. This means that she would do best with someone who is consistent and maybe even overly protective and caring. And not to harsh on Blake, but as they have written her so far, she is very much NOT that. She is, well… a cat. She comes and goes and her affection while there is not always glaringly obvious. This isn’t to say that a Blake and Yang pairing couldn’t work things out. But it would be rather ignorant to think that after all the times Blake has left, Yang wouldn’t always be waiting for the shoe to drop, in some corner of her mind. Again we are not saying that it would be impossible for them to work through that, but given Yang’s history and the way that Blake left it would take time to build back up such a seriously damaged trust.

Relationship Equality

1. The only person to benefit in the bumblebee relationship, SO FAR, has been Blake. Time and again Yang has been there to support Blake and try to protect her, but the opposite can’t be said. When Yang was accused of misconduct she said, “I WANT to trust you.” And it wasn’t till the rest of her team spoke in her defense, and Yang almost crying in front of her, that she said she would. When Yang was at her lowest most vulnerable point, and had lost a limb because she was trying to save her partner, Blake left. I get that leaving is sort of Blake’s thing for right now, but she didn’t even leave a note or a message with anyone. She just straight up bolted. Now in fairness to Blake she had just seen someone (potentially romantically) close to her almost get killed by her abusive ex-partner. She was placed in a worst case nightmare scenario, and because of that she fell back on her instincts and ran away. She has openly stated that she regrets her choices, and that she wanted to keep the rest of her team safe. Given what Adam wants to do to Blake this volume…. she might not have been all that wrong. (Still a note would have been nice.)

2. Weiss and Yang are likely to have a stable and equal relationship. Yang needs someone consistent and almost overly caring, and Weiss needs someone less uptight than her cold family that is patient and warm enough to break down her walls. They are also both stubborn enough that they would call each other out on their shit all the time… mostly in a good way. Lastly they have been seen to have a close bond and Weiss has been quiet supportive towards Yang throughout, while Yang has been patient with Weiss while she learns to be a better person.

End Game

1. If we use foreshadowing, it would seem like Blake will end up being the new leader of the White Fang, Weiss will end up running the SDC, and Ruby and Yang will most likely be huntresses and/or teachers at a school. Blake being a leader would keep her away from combat and adventure most of the time, and to that end I don’t think Blake actually enjoys fighting all that much. 

I will admit that a Yang and Blake pairing would send a great message about equality between the races. But if Blake were the leader of the White Fang it would mean that either Yang would have to be okay being stuck by Blake’s side during political meeting and bureaucracy, or that Yang would go off on missions and not be around all that much. Given what we know about Yang I don’t know that either of those would be what she would want, but we could be wrong. Now you might say Weiss would be in the same exact boat. But we would point out that her grandfather ran the SDC and was out discovering new dust mines all the time, and Weiss has more than once said that she wanted to restore her family name by being a huntress. Meaning she would probably jump at every single opportunity to get out the office and go kill some grimm and restore the honor of her family’s name by being with the people instead of lording power over them. Which in our opinion would make Yang a great distraction… sorry we meant partner in crime, lol. So even if Weiss did have to ‘run’ the company and sit in board meetings, we feel like Yang would be there to knock on the window and say, “It’s time for a little adventure princess.”

So that is our argument. Take it or leave it, but since there are so many people that have been jumping on the Freezerburn ship lately we thought we would put our long running discussion out there. We hope it sparked some thoughts or spurs some discussions, but mostly we just hope you enjoyed it.
