Sav'kat, The Black Hound

One of the best known artficier across the Yautja clans. His skills in manufacturing and inventing weapons are unmatched, coming only second to his talent as an archer. He never misses his target. He breeds and trains the best Hunting Hounds on the market as well, but he rarely gives them away unless you follow his rules (which often involve threats of death if anything happens to his precious beasts). Many Bad Bloods have tried to steal from his shop, but none survive to tell the tale. Despite his reputation, he prefers to spend his days working and studying the crafts in peace and quiet with his cherised hounds keeping him company.

(Keep an eye on this big blue guy as he may be revelant on the lore of my current fic Songbirds and Tigers. But it's not my place to spoil.)

Ever since you shared your lovely mugs with me, the thought that Ran would get them as a matching kitty set for herself and Conan, wouldn't leave me alone. So I decided to embrace the idea; for both the headcanon and the personal touch.

Originally I planned something more silly, but the soothing vibes of my first sketch were just so lovely, I went with this instead (especially since I thought you might appreciate a bit of peace).

You know you into yarn when you have headcanons about what spindles characters would particularly like, what they prefer to do with the yarn, what type of wheel spinner they are, and who has 17 projects going on at once (Anakin) vs who’s gonna focus almost entirely on one project as they go through thought spindle spinning a fine yarn, plying and washing enough of it for a blanket, immediately sticking it on the loom, and weaving a particularly intricate pattern (Obi-Wan) vs who’s the ‘I add the knots of silk and locks so that I can live in the moment and let chunks come out when they need to’ (as if I even have to say it, it’s Qui-Gon)-

ANYWAYS. I actually love yarn and think that yarn craft should be more in fics but that’s sorta like how lots of chefs and bakers make a lot of foodie fics like it’s nice but. Everyone eats. Not enough people care about Scottish spindles. Obi-Wan has 7 Scottish spindles and like 8 Turkish ones so he can make a blanket’s worth of yarn in a single go without having to unwind them and ply right away. Qui-Gon likes supported spindles and a traditional wheel. Anakin designs and makes his own electric spinners, electric yarn counters, and electric cone winders. And then he knits Padme shawls. Qui-Gon crochets blankets and keeps leaving them in the creche or outside random apartments in the temple. Obi-Wan weaves. Anakin spent 5 hours learning how to dye fiber in Padme’s favorite colours, made an electric wool carder to make batts of them, spent a solid 15 hours spinning enough for a massive shawl in lace weight yarn for his wife, knit her one, and then went back to his ADHD project hopping.

I have ideas!!!!!!

Late to the party - sorry - but here's my contribution to the Thank the Creatives Thursday... with some appreciation of Shaun's directing style

I love the framing of these shots. The first one is just perfectly photographic in the way its lit and framed and reinforces the theme of Morse's isolation from the world (as with the opening shot of him alone on the bench in Christchurch meadow). There's a lot of shots in this episode which reinforce that sense of isolation.

The second one is again beautifully set within the arches but more specifically I adore the reflections in the window. Its perfectly framed and lit to enable you to see the scene from both angles at once and it reflects the dialogue in the scene and the sense that we aren't seeing everything as its meant to be

And finally another beautifully framed shot through a doorway (he uses architecture a lot in his directing... almost as an additional character). The way the light captures them and puts them almost into shadow and the large black imposing door is just perfect. Another shot that could stand alone as a photograph
