📓📔📒📕📗📘📙📚📖!!!!!!!!!
Okay. 9 books, 9 fics. You're welcome.
1. Kastle/The West Wing Crossover Every time I watch TWW, I think about Karen and Donna Moss being friends, and once I thought of a fic where during the early seasons of TWW, the President and staff go to New York and Karen is moderating one of the series of town halls they're there for (specifically one where Josh Lyman is speaking). And of course that one, because reasons I had not yet come up with, gets attacked by The Hand, and Karen, Donna and Josh (who gets injured, because Josh ALWAYS gets injured) get rescued by Frank and it basically ends with the President demanding to meet Frank to thank him for saving Josh's life and everyone is like, "Mr. President do you not understand that Frank Castle is technically a MURDERER and the Secret Service will n e v e r let you in the same room with him and it's bad enough that you're currently on the same ISLAND?" So, yeah.
Here's something I wrote for it:
“Josh, did you hear?”
“I have impeccable hearing, Donna,” Josh says without looking up from the memo in his hand. “What is it that I am supposed to have heard?”
“Carol told me that she heard from Lindsay in credentialing that Karen Page has been assigned to cover the President’s town halls in New York for the New York Bulletin!”
He waits for her to keep going, but she doesn’t so, he looks up and sees her waiting expectantly, “And?”
“Karen Page? What It Means To Be A Hero Karen Page. She’s connected to half the vigilante-superheroes in Lower Manhattan. She was held hostage by ninjas. She interviewed Tony Stark about the Sokovia Accords. Last year, The Punisher himself may or may not have held her hostage after saving her from that terrorist Lewis Wilson.”
“And?”
“And, would it be inappropriate, as a member of the White House Staff, to ask her for her autograph?”
Kastle: The Big Indulgence
This is one of the first long fics I came up with for Kastle (and come hell or high water I WILL write it one day). Basically, it puts the NMCU actually IN the MCU. Post TPS1, Sarah tracks Karen down and they become friends, and at the same time, Frank becomes friends with Bucky Barnes (yes Emily, I know he's not your fav) by way of Curtis' group (Curt, of course, regrets ever letting them interact ever). Karen gets nominated for an award for her journalism work by the Maria Stark Foundation, where she meets Pepper, Natasha, and Darcy, and befriends them as well. Everything comes to a head and Karen and Frank reunite after the discovery that Sarah Lieberman is related to one of Bucky's surviving family members (the Liebermans are Jewish, Bucky's family is Jewish, it works!). Then, things related to Billy and Hydra happen, there's an incident where a few people disappear into an alternate universe for...an... amount of time, the Avengers meet the X-Men to help get them back, and Frank may or may not be a little psychic. Someone ends up coming from that alternate universe who doesn't belong here, but it's okay because she's [redacted] and also Leo's [redacted].
Leo-Centric, Kastle
Leo gets an internship as Darcy Lewis' assistant (well, technically she's working for Jane Foster, but it's basically working for Darcy), where she meets Karen, matchmakes her with Frank, and also gets a girlfriend. I think the summary says it best:
Summer 2021.
In which Leo Lieberman gets the internship of a lifetime—working for Jane!Freaking!Foster’s soon-to-be former personal assistant, Darcy Lewis—both comes out of the closet AND gets the girl, and helps her long-lost murder-uncle finally reconcile with the ace reporter of his dreams.
If Frank was actually bulletproof, it would totally be just like Superman and Lois Lane.
5 Times Seth Tells Kate He Loves Her
A five-times fic where Seth is just ass over tea kettle in love with Kate, and makes sure she knows it and doesn't care what other people (read: Richie and Scott) think about it. The first one takes place the night they get back from Matanzas, and I just love the little bit I've written so far. I know 2 that I'm going to write so far, so...3 to go.
Kate Meets Vanessa Post S3
So I started writing this around Valentine's Day this year, and I might keep it as a Valentine's Day fic no matter what, but basically, in a grand universal coincidence, Vanessa strolls into Jed's just because she's stopping for lunch on her way to...somewhere. She meets Kate, who is covering the bar for Kalinda and Greer (a culebra OC that I will one day actually formally introduce in my fics, I promise), who are downstairs "checking on inventory" read: screwing in a maintenance closet because it's Valentine's Day, and then Seth comes out and there's a little, very awkward reunion, and basically Vanessa is the MOST amused, Seth is the MOST uncomfortable and Kate's just like...okay? And? Also, Seth is still bitter about Vanessa taking the tire iron to his car back in early S1.
The SK/Detroit 187 Fusion
Seth is a detective in Houston PD, who comes into the office one day to discover they...hired an intern? Said intern is Kate Fuller, a grad student at the University of Houston, who is working on her master's thesis by studying something related to crime (duh). Seth thinks she's a Disney princess in human form and they're very antagonistic with one another, but also he likes her way more than he thinks he should (but feels a LOT better about it when he finds out she's 23, not like...barely legal to drink or anything. Angst happens when a gang (Malvado's, but Carlos' branch of it) attacks Kate's family and kills her parents, and Seth takes her to Eddie and Richie for protection while he and his partner, Ximena, and the rest of the department solve the case and put Carlos' crew away.
SK Post 2x02 AU
After Kate and Seth part ways in 2x02, Kate goes back to Bethel, but Scott isn't there (so Jessica lives). She ends up in Houston for two years, working at a gym and keeping her to the ground looking for word about her brother, until one night, she's attacked by a bunch of Culebras, and is saved by Seth, Richie, and Kisa. She finds out that Carlos and Malvado are after her because she's the key to the way to the Blood Well, and Carlos and Malvado's henchwoman, the one and only Sonja, draws them all back to Bethel by putting Jessica in danger, and...it's all going to come to a head in some way that involves them saving Jessica from Sonja and killing Malvado and stopping the events of S3 from ever having to happen.
SK Season 1 AU
I don't know if i'm ever going to go anywhere with this, but I had this thought of...what is Carlos as Kyle wasn't a dick to Kate, and he took her to Mexico instead of Kate going back with Jacob and Scott. She ends up at the Twister before Seth and Richie do, and spends time with Kisa before she goes out to perform, and somehow it ends up with Kate going through the labyrinth with the brothers? I don't know. Something like that.
The FDTD/The Punisher Crossover That Starts Off In New York
So this is one of 2 crossovers I have for SK-meets-Kastle, but I love it. This is post 2x02, and Kate ends up in New York after not being able to find Scott back in Bethel. She ends up going to work as NM&P's assistant, and befriends Karen. To get to know one another better, Karen takes Kate to Josie's, where Kate discovers that Josie is a culebra, and Josie promises to keep Kate's secret. One day, this...guy shows up at the office, asking to talk to Karen, and Karen kicks Kate out of the office while they talk, and when she comes back, the guy is gone and Karen doesn't want to talk about it. (It's Frank, of course it's Frank). Also featuring one day where Frank is on the roof, Matt gets wind of it and goes up there to confront him about seeing Karen again and comes back with a black eye, and Kate is V confused whereas Karen is 10000000% pissed off at them both. Not long after, Kate and Karen are out one night, and they're attacked by a bunch of culebras. Frank helps intervene while Kate really is the one to save the day...and then she has to explain culebras to them. Of course, Karen saw aliens fall out of a portal above Stark Tower, so...snake vampires? Whatever. Kate calls Freddie to figure out why she was attacked and it turns out Carlos and Malvado are after her (and, later found out Karen too). Kate, Karen and Frank end up in Texas and things all come to a head at the blood well, as it does, and while Carlos shoots Kate in front of Seth, Richie, and Scott (which, BAD IDEA), Kate falls into the blood well, and when she's pulled out, she's healed. But...she also has something inside her that wants to destroy the world, and everyone has to race against time to figure out how to get Amaru out of Kate before she takes over completely and destroys them all. They figure out a way, but it has an...interesting side effect for Kate and Seth. Also, this is the one where Maggie takes one look at Freddie and Ximena and shrugs and says, "You know what? Porque no los dos?"
So yeah, there you go!
(Also, I thought about also including the Amaru isn't evil, she's just cranky and wants to go home, S3 AU, but we just talked about it yesterday, so I figured it doesn't count hahaaha.)
send me a book emoji of any kind and i will tell you about a fic idea i have

In the Bond-Chapter 2
Summary: Lilah often wished she’d never said yes to working with the Gecko brothers—usually while dodging gunfire. At no time was she regretting that decision more than when she’s hanging upside down from the ceiling, staring down a group of hungry culebras and one (1) extremely powerful sun god.
Word Count: ~2,300
Warnings: None
A/N: This is an AU of my Story In the Blood, which can be read here. Basically, this fic explores what would have happened if Lilah had met up with Geckos before she met Brasa.
Taglist: @symbiont13
Start from the beginning Next Chapter Read on AO3 Masterlist
Lilah slid into a chair and regarded the lovers. Kate was sitting in Richie’s lap, rolling her eyes as he pressed intermittent kisses on her cheeks and neck. She’d grown used to their easy affection since the brothers had saved Kate from Amaru. For the first few days, Richie had hardly let go of Kate’s hand, would go where she went, snarling at anyone who came a little too close. Even now, he didn’t go very long without touching her, no matter the situation—a hand on her thigh, a the small of her back, toying with her hair. Kate seemed to take it all in stride, a soft smile that somehow made her look impossibly young.
It was Kate’s eyes that Lilah noticed first when she’d stepped through the doors of Jackknife Jed’s. They flashed with gloom, aging her in a way that in no way reflected in her actual face. Looking at her made Lilah feel so disjointed that she still struggled to hold the younger woman’s gaze. Still, despite the unease, Lilah liked Kate. She certainly made dealing with the ever-arguing brothers just a little bit easier. Lilah couldn’t so easily be out-voted any more, and that was worth the disquiet she sometimes felt in Kate’s presence.
The door to the office flung open, Seth barreling through with no regard for how it hit the shelf behind it, a few of Richie’s knickknacks shaking in their stands. He was wiping sweat from his brow, his ever present frown just a little deeper than normal. Lilah’s eyes narrowed as she watched him come closer.
“Hey, watch the merchandise,” Richie called out, one hand lifting from around Kate’s middle to gesture broadly at the memorabilia.
Fandom was the one thing that Lilah and Richie really agreed on. They’d spent a lot of time on stake outs talking Star Trek, and then Firefly, followed by a whole host of niche geeky topics. He was surprisingly insightful about the little details that made each show unique. And, Lilah had spent a lot of time in hotels watching old B horror movies to be able to hold her own when he went down a rabbit hole. It made the fact that she disagreed with him about the tenants of Jedi life acceptable, in his mind.
“We’ve got bigger problems than Obi Wan’s lightsaber, Richie.”
Seth was definitely in a mood. He might not understand Richie’s interests, and he might roll his eyes when his brother went on a tangent about canon timelines, but he at least respected Richie’s belongings enough that he didn’t intentionally screw around with them. This, whatever it was, was serious. Lilah eyed him narrowly, waiting.
Eyes vaguely betrayed, Richie muttered, “Its Mace Windu.”
Kate patted Richie’s arm lightly, saying, “What’s the problem?”
Rounding his desk, Seth sat heavily. After a deep sigh, he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper, tossing it on the desk in front of him. It bounced, making a soft ‘shhh’ sound as it slid across the pressed wood of the tabletop.
“We got a message today,” he explained, “And I don’t know what to make of it.”
Lilah leaned forward and plucked it up with two fingers. The paper was a heavy vellum, thick woven. She unfolded it, curious. The ink was a deep red, the lettering thick. As she brought it closer to read, Lilah caught a fragrance that had followed her in the weeks since their last failed mission.
Oh, no.
The letter was meticulously worded. The writing thick and bold, swirling softly around the crosses. Formal. Elegant. Commanding. Brasa.
Lilah read and re-read it, “He’s asking for peace.”
She looked at Seth, brows lifted in surprise. Then, she stood, stepped to Richie’s desk, and handed it to the younger brother. All the while, she tried to keep her face as neutral as possible. Lilah was grateful that Seth never bothered with the overhead lights, that only the lamps on either desk illuminated the room. Her face was hot, her hands shaking. She didn’t know how to stand so as to draw no attention to herself while she internally panicked.
“He’s playing a game,” Seth said as he opened a drawer in his desk, pulling out a bottle, yanking out the stopper, and drinking straight from it. “Its a trap.”
Richie took a few moments to read the letter before Kate took it from him. She stood and read it, as well. Lilah watched her face, trying to discern her reaction. Kate chewed her thumbnail as her eyes flicked over the page, her brows together. A shadow passed over her expression.
“No,” Kate uttered so low that Lilah almost didn’t hear it, “He’s really asking for peace.”
Lilah didn’t have the time to think about how she might know that, or the implications. Or, how she might feel about those implications.
Seth scoffed, “How the fuck do you know that?”
Setting the letter down on Richie’s desk, Kate shrugged, “I spent a lot of time with him when I was...when she was inside me.” She sniffed, “Even though Amaru thought they were bullshit, he obeys the old laws. This is a formal call for peace talks. He’s written it in his own blood.”
Lilah felt her eyes widen, shocked that Kate could tell whose blood was on the paper. Shocked even further that someone would write a letter in their literal blood. Shocked still further that she cared how he might have procured his own blood in enough supply to write such a letter.
There were a few side effects from Kate’s possession, little quirks that Kate would sometimes display without really thinking. She’d stand up way too fast, know who might walk through the door next, hear conversations from the next room. Lilah did her best to just roll with it, but this was a little bit too freaky for Lilah’s normal ‘roll with it’ sensibilities. She deliberately set it aside, hoping that she wouldn’t need to examine the thought later.
Richie lit a cigarette, blowing the smoke through his nose, “Why now? We’ve spent the last six months fighting and killing each other, and now he wants to talk peace.”
Lilah sat down, folding her hands in her lap as she tried very hard not to think this was about her. She could not be so self-centered as to think that Brasa would give up a war just because she happened to be on the other side. A war he was, by all accounts, winning as the Gecko’s ceded more and more territory to the culebras he seemed to govern. There had to be another explanation. A trap, maybe, a false sense of security.
“Alright,” Seth drawled, “We get him in a room and gank him.”
Kate gasped, looking horrified, “We have a chance to get real progress, here. Do you want to fight forever?”
Lilah definitely knew the answer to that question. Seth’s entire life was a fight—physical or otherwise. He wasn’t comfortable if there wasn’t some sort of conflict to battle through, his brother at his side. Even if they achieved peace, he’d be at someone’s throat within twenty four hours. It was both endearing and utterly frustrating to watch him cycle through the same motions over and over.
Seth rose, leaning his hands on the desk, “You, more than anyone, have a reason to want every one of those snakes dead.”
Sneering, Kate crossed her arms, “I, more than anyone, have a reason to want all of this to stop. I don’t want to see any more death.”
Behind her, Richie shifted uneasily in his chair. Lilah took each of them in, knowing there was far more history than she was privy to playing out right in front of her. It left her feeling like she couldn’t make a good decision, didn’t have enough data to create a strategy. This was not her preferred method of moving through life. She remained still, waiting.
“We should meet with him,” Kate asserted, hip cocking to the side.
It was not a rare occasion that Kate would insist that they act in a certain way. She had a strong moral compass that clashed with the brothers’ more criminal predilections. More often than not, Kate centered them, kept them from going too far. Lilah was grateful. She had never been successful in stemming off their momentum, once they got started.
“Absolutely not,” Seth shot back, his mouth a firm line.
Lilah surprised herself by adding, “I agree with Seth.”
Richie stubbed out his cigarette, “I’m with Kate.”
This was not surprising. Richie tended to side with Kate on most things. Lilah caught the look he sent Kate, though Kate was still looking at Seth. His eyes were following the line of her petite body, admiring in a way that made Lilah look away, embarrassed.
Seth circled his desk, leaning his hip against it, “Two against two. How’re we going to break the tie?”
There was a beat of silence, then Richie stood and offered up his fist, “Best out of three?”
When Richie beat Seth two to one, Seth gave him a hardy ‘fuck you’ and strode from the room. Richie heaved a beleaguered sigh and followed him. Lilah dropped her head in her hands, boggled by the decision making skills of her partners. Rock, paper scissors...honestly.
“Why don’t you want to meet with them?”
Lilah lifted her eyes at the question, feeling her chest constrict, “I won’t have to do the actual meeting, Kate.” Lie, lie, lie, Lilah, “I just don’t think we’ll be successful.”
Kate tilted her head to the side, “You think its a trap?”
Lilah grabbed onto that line of thinking. It was logical, far more logical than ‘No, Kate. I just don’t want to meet up with someone who claims I am his bondmate and with whom I have exchanged blood’. Even in her head, it sounded so incredibly stupid. Not to mention the fact that she’d been hiding it long enough that admitting it would only lead to suspicion.
“I think Seth is too hot headed,” Lilah clarified quickly, “I think that it’ll fall apart before it even gets started.”
There, that was a convincing lie that was pretty grounded in enough truth that even Lilah half believed it. She very carefully did not study Kate’s face to see if the lie had landed.
Kate moved closer, her ancient gaze peering at Lilah carefully, “You’re right.”
Oh. Okay.
“Thank you.”
“You need to go with them.”
Ah, fuck.
“What?”
Kate nodded, her expression hardening, “You go with them, keep things level, make this work.”
“Me?” Lilah didn’t like how high her voice came out. She cleared her throat, “No, you know them better than I do. You go. Bring me whatever contract they draw up, I’ll red line it, make sure its fair.”
That was her role. Look over the game plan, find the flaws, work out the kinks. In that, Lilah was comfortable and safe. No need to put herself back in a room with Brasa. No need to let this get even more out of hand. No need for the messiness that would come from that.
Shaking her head, Kate took a step back, “I can’t. I can’t face him. What I did to him was,” she searched for words, “terrible.”
The sudden turn of Kate’s tone, the way her face screwed up in real disgust, made Lilah sit up and stake notice. Where had this come from?
She inhaled, trying to parse the words, “What does that mean?”
Kate’s eyes were focused on the middle distance, her mouth quivering, “Amaru loved torture, all kinds of torture. She didn’t care who it was that she hurt. I—she liked,” Another breath, “Brasa was blood bound to her, she could make him do things, do anything. She never got her hands dirty, but him…”
Lilah waited for more, but Kate simply stopped speaking. She looked shell shocked, tears welling up. God, but Lilah had been completely fooled by Kate’s frequent smiles and clear headedness. She hadn’t known how much trauma the hell queen had put Kate through, hadn’t even thought that Kate was conscious of the things that she’d done while trapped inside her own body. Moved to action, she stood and embraced Kate, saying to her the only comfort she could think to give.
“Its the past. And, it wasn’t you.” Then, “Are you still blood bound?”
She felt like real shit for asking, but she needed to know what Brasa’s relationship was with Kate, and if it would make their own relationship (did they even have a relationship?) more complicated. Kate made a soft sound in the negative and Lilah let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. That was one complication she had, thankfully, avoided.
Kate’s body was taut, “When she first brought me back, when I met him, I felt the power I had over him. And, she abused it. I drained him dry that first night, to regain her strength. After three days, when he managed to stand up off the ground, she did it again. Because she could.” Kate pulled back and looked at Lilah, “That wasn’t even the worst of it. How can I look him in the eye after all that?”
Lilah shook her head, “Like I said, it wasn’t you. And, if he really wants to talk peace, he’ll set it aside. If not, fuck ‘im.”
That, at least, was the truth. Lilah had been fighting his kind of less than a year and she was tired of it. She wanted peace. She wanted to go on nice, normal jobs—jewel theft, a bank heist, possibly even some fine art that they could sell on the black market. Stuff that was in her wheelhouse, in her comfort zone. If he was going to hold Kate responsible for the actions of Amaru, then he wasn’t worth negotiating with. Full stop.
Kate loosed a soundless laugh, “Okay.”
“Okay?”
“Okay.”

Born in the U.S.A (Josh Lyman x Reader)
Part 2 of 3
Word Count: 2083
I know that my medical knowledge is not sound but its a fanfic so it doesn’t have to be logical
The office was frantic trying to figure out a way to get Y/N to a hospital without drawing the attention of the press, the last thing they needed was for someone to see an ambulance at the White House.
“We can’t have an ambulance show up at the White House, we will never be able to convince people of what actually happened.” Toby said as he paced back and forth.
“I agree with Toby, can we just use the car?” Y/N said breathlessly as another contaction hit her. “Sam,” She cried and the man who was in the corner on the phone.
“He won’t answer his phone.”
“It probably died.” Y/N said before she let out a scream due to another contraction.
Elsewhere on the hill Josh, unaware of the fact that his wife was in labor, was fighting.
“Listen, we are not talking about gun reform today Josh.” The man screamed at him as Josh laughed head in hands.
“No that is exactly what we need to talk about.” Josh exclaimed.
Suddenly a woman burst into the room.
“Josh Lyman you have a telephone call.”
“Who is it?” Josh sighed as he pulled out his cellphone noticing that it was dead. “Damn-it.”
“Sam Shepard, he says its urgent.”
“Will you excuse me,” Josh said as he quickly made his way after the secretary who looked positively terrified of him. “Sam what do you want.” Josh snapped slightly angry for being pulled out of his meeting but that anger was quickly replaced with fear when he heard the sound of a woman screaming more specifically, Y/N. “What is it what’s wrong Sam!.” Josh screamed tears in his eyes
“Y/N went into labor.” Sam said seriously.
Josh almost took off running until he remembered he wasn’t on his cell phone.
“Where is she what hospital did you take her to.” He said gripping the phone tightly.
“Um…” Sam started. “We didn’t.”
“What do you mean? Sam what is going on.”
“She’s in the Oval Office we are arguing over how we need to get her to the hospital.”
“You are what!” Josh said dropping the phone as he began to run back to his car. “Tell him I’m on my way!” He yelled back.
“Josh, Josh!” Sam called into the phone freaking out.
“What is it what’s wrong?” Y/N asked panicking. At this point Leo and CJ had made there way into the room, CJ was holding her hand.
“He’s on his way.” Sam insisted as he went over to Toby.
“We need to get her to a hospital,” Leo said as he stood by the president. “I don’t care how we can deal with that later.”
“That’s not going to be an option.” Abby quickly said.
“What do you mean?”
“She’s 7 centimeters dialated, she is having this baby now.”
The whole room went silent as the reality of the situation set in.
Within minutes the room was filled with as many doctors and nurses as they could find, Y/N was laying on the floor with Abby helping as best she could to comfort Y/N. Everyone else had been ushered into Leo’s office including the President.
“You know the last time there was a baby born in the White House it was Grover Cleavland.” Jed said trying to ease the very clear tension in the room.
“Where is Josh, he should have been here by now,” CJ insisted as she paced back and forth trying to ignore the screams coming from the next room.
“He might have hit traffic or gotten lost, who knows with Josh.” Toby sighed.
“Should I go after him, I feel like I should go look for him right, I’m going to go look for him.” Sam panicked as he started to leave but CJ grabbed him by his coat tails and pulled him back.
“Don’t worry he will be here.” Leo said. “He wouldn’t miss this for the world, let us not forget that this has been the only thing he has been talking about for months.”
In the other room, they had gathered a few doctors mostly men, but Y/N really only felt comfortable with Abby.
“Where is he Abby, I don’t want to do this without him.”
“Y/N sweetie he is on his way, but for right now this baby is coming and you are going to need to push.”
Y/N shook her head as she felt the pressure of a contraction once more and she let out a loud scream.
“Damn-it!” Josh screamed as he sat in traffic. Of course Y/N had to go into labor right during rush hour. “Move!” He slammed on the horn only to get the finger from the person in front of him. He looked at his watch once more even though he had been checking it every second. “Screw it.” He said as he quickly through the car into park, pew the car into park, yanked the keys out of the ignition and bolted out of the car heading in the direction of the White House.
“Sam!” A voice in the Oval Office screamed causing Sam to jump. Quickly he headed in that direction. “Where is he?” Y/N cried.
“I don’t know, he said he was on his way…” Sam started nervously when suddenly Josh burst into the office. “Oh thank god.”
“Josh,” Y/N breathed reaching her hand out for him.
“Hi baby.” He said as he rushed towards her. The minute he reached her she punched his arm. “Oww.”
“Where were you?” Y/N screamed.
“I’m sorry, I got stuck in traffic.” He said grabbing her hand. “Speaking of, Sam I left my car in the middle of traffic will you please go get it.”
“You did what!”
“I wasn’t going to miss this for the world.” He said kissing her forehead. “That being said why in the hell is my wife giving birth in the Oval Office and not a hospital.”
“We couldn’t have an ambulance come to the White House.” Toby said as everyone slowly crept their way into room.
“Joshua,” Bartlet said coming over to Josh placing his hand on Josh’s shoulder. “Let us not worry about what happened let’s focus on what is happening, you are going to be a father.”
“Jed, I need you to go back into Leo’s office ok, and Leo I need you to call that person you and I talked about.” Abby quickly said and instantly everyone knew that something was wrong. As everyone, who didn’t have a medical degree, hurriedly left the room Josh looked at Abby terrified.
“What is it, what’s wrong?” He said as Y/N gripped his hand tightly as another contraction hit.
“Josh I’m not an OBGYN, I can’t…”
“Abby,” Y/N cried as she looked at her pleading.
“I think the baby is in the wrong position.” Abby sighed.
“What does that mean?” Josh said worriedly. He was now behind Y/N so her back was against his chest. He was running his hands up and down her arms trying to comfort her.
“Josh again I’m not an OBGYN, I don’t want to…”
Y/N let out another scream as she gripped Josh’s hand harder. While Josh’s hand felt like it was being broken, it pained him more to hear Y/N in such pain.
Suddenly a man was rushed into the room.
“Dr. Carter, thank you so much for coming.” Abby quickly said and she quickly got up and went over to the man whispering.
“Josh,” Y/N cried as the panic began to kick in. “I don’t think I can do this.”
“Y/N you are the strongest woman I know, just think about the fact that we are going to meet our baby soon.” Josh said kissing the top of her head.
“I’m going to tell C.J and Donna that you think I am the strongest woman you know.” Y/N teased.
“I love you,” Josh said as Y/N looked up at him. She was covered in sweat and had tears streaking down her face, but he thought she looked so beautiful.
“I love you too Lemon.” She said as she kissed him.
“Hello, Mrs. Lyman.” The man said coming over. “I am Dr. Carter, I’m going to help you meet your baby.”
Y/N smiled but the smile quickly faded as a contraction hit.
“Now Abby thinks your baby is being stubborn and not wanting to come out.”
“Josh Lyman’s baby is stubborn who would have guessed.” Y/N laughed trying to stay positive.
“Hey it’s your baby too.” Josh said as he squeezed her arms.
“Do we know what the sex of the baby is?”
“I do but Josh doesn’t want to know until the baby is born.” Y/N insisted.
“You can be really sweet sometimes Josh, you know that.” Abby said smiling as she brought a tray of very scary looking medical instruments to Dr. Carter.
“Alright well I’m going to take a look and see what’s going on. I’m going to need you to lie back.”
Josh quickly moved positioning himself so that Y/N’s head was laying in his lap.
“Now this is going to be very uncomfortable, maybe even painful.” The doctor said and Y/N nodded closing her eyes as she held onto Josh’s hands.
“You know I told Toby that I would go into labor today just to spite him.” Y/N said trying her best to talk through the pain.
“I’ll kill him,” Josh teased looking down at her lovingly.
“How was your meeting?”
“You really want to talk about my meeting?” Josh laughed.
“You know you should be grateful that I’m speaking to you nicely. My mother told me that when she had me, all she did was scream obscenities at my dad.” Y/N said gripping Josh’s hands tighter as a wave of pain hit.
“Oh I would imagine that part is still to come my love.” Josh said kissing her forehead.
Suddenly Dr. Carter looked up at Josh with a look that instantly made Josh nervous. Within in an instant Dr. Carter was up talking to Abby and the other doctors confirming.
“Josh what’s wrong?” Y/N said panicking
“Hey it’s ok just breathe.” Josh tried to calm her down even though he had now started to panic as well.
That panic only worsened when Abby slipped out of the room into the room where everyone was waiting.
“Josh.” Y/N said.
“Mr. and Mrs. Lyman, I’m afraid this birth may be more complicated that we first anticipated.” Dr. Carter said seriously.
“Will someone please tell us what in the hell is going on.” Josh snapped angry at all the secrecy.
“The baby is in the wrong position and it’s shoulder is stuck at Y/N’s pelvic bone.”
Y/N let out a noise that Josh wouldn’t even describe as human. He couldn’t tell if she was screaming because of the pain of another contraction or at what the doctor had just said.
“Ok what does that mean,” Josh said.
“Mr. Lyman, may I talk to you alone for a minute.”
“No, anything you have to say you can..”
“Josh go talk to the doctor,” a voice said and suddenly Abby came back into the room followed by C.J and Sam and Toby.
C.J quickly came over grabbing Y/N’s hand again.
Sam and Toby quickly helped Josh to his feet then they walked with him over to the doctor.
“In order to safely get your baby would be a c-section.”
“Ok then let’s do that.”
“We don’t believe that we can safely get Y/N to the hospital because the baby is in a space where any movement could be dangerous.”
“Well what is the other options.”
The doctor sighed. “The procedure would be me trying to manipulate the baby back into the right place. It will be extremely painful for Y/N and there is a high risk.”
“I don’t get what you are trying to tell me, both those ideas sound bad, what are the other options.”
The doctor was silent.
“There are no other options Josh.” Toby said.
“You need to prepare for the fact that we may lose the baby, and in a worse case scenario we may lose Y/N.”
Josh didn’t have any words, for the first time in his life Josh couldn’t find the words to express how he was feeling.
