Character Death Questionnaire Meme- Rhona (TW Character Death)
Obvious trigger warning for death and the sort. There is also one question about suicide. I’m putting this here because I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. ...I’m a morbid person and I think you all saw this coming. Blank meme: www.deviantart.com/rainbowicep… This information may or may not be canon. But one day, I may write the entire story of my characters, right down to the characters’ deaths. Only time will tell if this information ends up being canon... ——— 1. When will your character die? (Year, day, even down to the hour and minute). You can choose to either answer with canon information or just make something up. It doesn’t have to be canon. (I picked this at random) July 24, 2088, 4:41 AM. Rhona Aequor had lived a long and happy life, dying peacefully in her own bed at the age of exactly 100 years old (plus a few months). (Whimsica Saga is supposed to take place in 2012-2014 lol...) She overcame a lot, and even with her dangerous job as a huntress, she made it out alive to die peacefully of old age, and not killed by monsters. 2. What is the cause of their death? In specific, the ailment that lead to her death was a case of bronchitis that somehow weakened her already frail body and lead to like, some sort of organ (maybe respiratory) failure, and ultimately her heart stopping...? ...Yeah, I’m really not a doctor and I really don’t know exactly what causes people to “die peacefully in their repose”. 3. Your character’s last words? The last words Rhona said to someone else, to Nagisa, “Good night, my love.” The last words Rhona said to herself (inside her mind), “My life was nice. I guess it’s time...” ...I kind of like to give everyone cheesy idealistic deaths. 4. How does this death impact their close friends and relatives who are still alive? Everyone had known quite for a while, Rhona was becoming old and frail. She could’ve succumbed at just about any moment, and despite being braced for it, nobody was ready, as with most any death. Rhona’s mother and father have died quite a while ago. Luana is already dead, passing at 97 years of age due to an illness. Umiko passes at age 98. Quartz the whale shark passed at 89 years of age, and before Rhona as well. Nagisa, Rhona’s life partner and wife, dies roughly four years later at the age of 102. The first two years after Rhona’s death were quite dark for her. However, she found considerable solace within the next two before her own death... Isadora, one of Rhona’s friends, is still alive and will pass at the age of 101. Isadora was in a period of time where many of her friends were passing. Rhona’s death deeply saddened her but she found a way to move on. Rhona has a son and a daughter in her future who are severely impacted, but continue to live on, knowing Rhona would want them to. Rhona will not only be remembered as influential, a great huntress, and someone who helped many people, but as the person she was inside. 5. Where does the character ultimately go after their death? (Heaven/hell, reincarnation, etc.) Does this fate match with their religious or personal beliefs about the afterlife? I’d say a peaceful place that would be called heaven, basically. And Rhona is atheist but does believe in god and heaven. (I believe that’s called agnostic?) 6. Who is with them at the time of death, if anyone? Also, where did they die? Well, she’s pretty much alone, in her room, on an unusually blue dawn... but she does feel the presence of the friends who have passed before her telling her “welcome, I missed you”. 7. Their final meal? Their final sights? If you want, add more “final” experiences. Final meal- Paella Final sights- The soft blue light filtering through her curtains. She was also in a somewhat asleep or unconscious state, and it caused her to see the ocean during her final moments too. Final thoughts- “Do I have anything I regret leaving behind...? Oh Nagisa... And my children, I’ll miss you, I’m sorry... but I’m afraid it’s time to go. I can’t wait to see my late friends again...” Final significant memory- A bunch of friends and family who were still alive spent some time together with Rhona as she told them stories and watched a movie or so. 8. This is an optional question, but name some things that could possibly drive your character to suicide. This question could be good for establishing what causes your character to despair. Like, during the arc when Nagisa got lost, and Rhona didn’t know if she were alive or not, she was very fragile emotionally then after suffering such a sudden and tragic lost. She contemplated retiring from being a huntress, and fought with a heavy heart... Another loss, even a personal one, like a loss of one of her senses (hearing, sight) during that time could’ve driven her to suicide maybe... I think another thing could be if Rhona needed to sacrifice her life for a cause she really would want. She does have a very sacrificial nature, hinting at her hidden instabilities and low self-esteem. She cares deeply for others too... perhaps even too much... 9. Imagine if your character was living in a medieval time period, where people often died for a variety of reasons. If you want, throw in some dragons and dark fantasy elements and make it like Game of Thrones. What do you think would kill your character first? You know what. I can’t really think of much. But I’d say war, or fighting for a cause. She is the kind of person who became a huntress because she wanted to help people and make a difference. I think maybe she’d even risk dying in war for it...? 10. Would you describe your character’s death as an idealistic end, tragic, somewhere in between, heroic, or just mundane? ...Actually maybe a little mundane... but idealistic too. It wasn’t her death that strikes me as idealistic though, but all that she accomplished before her eventual end. In all, her death was sad of course, but she left peacefully. 11. Write about what your character’s funeral will be like, if any. A big gathering. Rhona had quite the legacy in her life due to being both an accomplished huntress and marine biologist, and she was somewhat famous as a figure in both things. There is even a statue of her posing with her trident somewhere in her small hometown maybe. Looking poised and fierce, yet caring and sophisticated... Anyway, everything she did during her life would be showcased and put into the spotlight, and the mood won’t be as grave as much as it is honoring of an incredible person. 12. How is your character regarded after their death? Are they famous? How would others honor your character’s life? Like I said, somewhat famous. Very fondly regarded. She inspired many younger people, and by them following in her footsteps, they are honoring her. 13. Write about what your other characters would say at the dead character’s funeral. Nagisa: I still remember our first meeting like it was yesterday. I was in danger, and Rhona, a complete stranger at the time, came rushing in to defeat the monster before me. I knew it was her job... but I felt she was very earnest. We became such good friends... she helped me find my strength. She inspired me so, so much and I don’t know where I’d be if it weren’t for her. I loved her more than I can put into words. She will always be remembered. Luana if she was still alive at the time: I’m not the best with converting my feelings into words... all that vocabulary stuff? But... I’ll do my best. Rhona was the kind of person who stopped at nothing, to make the world a better place. And that’s exactly what she did, really. She was strong, determined, and with a kind heart. I couldn’t ask for a better comrade. Well, she was more than that to me. She was an amazing friend. I’m lucky to have met her. Quartz the whale shark if he was still alive and could somehow talk to people using English: Rhona was tender. But she was also tough. She fought for others. She cared about others. She cared about me. I was her animal partner and I went on all kinds of adventures with her. I will always remember them. I will always remember her. 14. How does your character feel about death? What thing are they most upset about leaving behind? Rhona feels that dying young is a terrible and tragic fate, but it’s different when you’re old and accomplished, and your time is up. She feels it would be great to be able to live as long as you want, but in the imperfect world, death is sadly unavoidable. But nobody truly does die. There will always be your impact on the world and the ways you’ve changed it, no matter how small. Rhona is mostly upset of leaving behind the world itself, even though it was imperfect, she loved it and fought for it. She especially loved the ocean and thought it was an endless source of wonder. 15. What happens to the character’s body after their death? Are they an organ donor? Do they get cremated? Etc. Rhona gets cremated and her ashes scattered in the ocean. She becomes part of the ocean, one with it. 16. Would you say that your character died happily? I would say yes.
