Decided today that the coworker who called me the r-slur is not, in fact, a cat as I have imagined many of my other coworkers to be, but a husky.
Huskies are
Stubborn
Easily offended
Escape artists
Not particularly interested in pleasing their people
Cool-looking
Don’t normally get along with cats very well
This fits that coworker perfectly. He is convinced of the idea that everyone likes or should like him, but at the same time makes no attempts to help others or make their life easier. He often manages to worm his way out of his tasks usually by finding a lull in business where he can just slip under the radar and leave without consulting anyone, which has become a common occurrence because his appearance tricks people into thinking he is upstanding and trustworthy. He also takes criticism very very harshly, even if you are trying to help him.
Side note on the criticism thing:
He also has a tendency to flirt with any girl of his age, usually unsuccessfully because nearly all of the girls he’s flirted with are actual lesbians. And I mean like 85% of them. At this point it ought to be obvious when they are holding hands and both have the same shoulder-lengthened haircut with curtain bangs, but this child usually goes for the girls traveling in pairs bc he has this idea that if he hits on one and it doesn’t work the other will bite.
And when I, a queer and somewhat gender-nonconforming woman, helpfully point out some of the indicators he missed on whether or not these girls are even attracted to men at all, he starts ranting about how I’m “ruining his game” or just saying that cause I’m jealous and “get no bitches”.
Teenagers amiright?
That’s not exactly 100% related, but it seems like something a husky might do if it were human (continually trying to engage play with another animal who is clearly not interested and maybe even afraid)
So yeah, I think husky characteristics fit his testosterone-fried behavior pretty well :)
