Friday Kiss Tag

Pov: me explaining how I'm going to do the Friday kiss tag without having a single kiss to ever share

Anyways, thank you for the tag @wyked-ao3 @agirlandherquill @sableglass and @the-golden-comet

This week, I shall write how I imagine the first kiss between Five and Zero would go. This isn't a part of canon, since I'm writing it specifically for this, but I hope you still enjoy my attempt at writing anything past a hug (I've never written a proper kiss in my life)

Slight warning for a bit of steam under the cut. Nothing too bad, Five's just thirsty

The two sat on Zero's bed, Five leaning against Zero's chest while Zero played with a hand-held puzzle that looked as old as he was. “How old is that puzzle? It looks like it predates the Selim Empire,” Five asked, miming coughing from the non-existent dust. Zero didn't answer for a minute, finishing whatever step he was on before responding. “That's because it does,” He said wryly. “You forget that I built the Selim Empire.” Five grumbled at that, a faint mumbled ‘old man’ among the grumbling. Zero ignored him, continuing to play with the puzzle.

They sat for a few more minutes in comfortable silence before Five started to get agitated. “This is boringggg,” he complained. “We should do something more exciting.” Zero paused what he was doing and looked down at Five, more for Five's benefit than his, since he couldn't truly see. “And what do you suggest we do that's more ‘exciting’?” Zero asked, a hint of amusement in his voice, while Five reached up to take his mask off. Five thought Zero was plenty hot with the mask on, him having the mysterious vibe going on, but without the mask? Five couldn't be trusted.

“Hmmm, I do have an idea,” Five said mischievously, sitting up so he was face to face with Zero. Zero raised an eyebrow, but didn't move away. Instead, he set aside his puzzle. Five sat back on his legs, his hands going to Zero's waist. “I think you should kiss me,” Five said confidently. Zero seemed even more intrigued than before. “And why is this coming about?” Zero asked, leaning in closer to bridge the distance that Five had put between them when he sat back. “Because,” Five said primly. “We've had this thing going on for a few months and you have yet to kiss me. It's rude to leave a guy hanging like that, you know.”

Zero simply shrugged at that. “You never asked,” He said by way of explanation. Five rolled his eyes, not designing that with a response, and instead just closed the gap between them and sealed their lips together. Both of their eyes immediately fell closed. The kiss was nothing special, an experimental peck on the lips, but both of them seemed almost shocked when they pulled back. Zero was the first to school his expression, it turning into a taunting grin. “Is that the best you can do? Weren't you an infamous player?”

Five scowled and took it as a challenge. He surged to meet Zero's lips, immediately more heat behind the kiss. Five's hand went up to grab Zero's jaw, tilting it up to meet his so he could have a better angle. Zero pressed further into Five's space, but the angle was awkward. After a little bit, Five pulled away again. He didn't give Zero time to comment again before he was swinging his leg over Zero's legs and sliding into his lap, now properly above him. Faint blush dusted Zero's face and ears, which Five had the sudden urge to make worse.

Five stared down at Zero, running a thumb over his jaw. Apparently, he sat there just staring for a while, since Zero began to become agitated. “Don't just stare,” Zero said with furrowed brows. Five grinned, taking the demand for the win it was. “Just because you're a bitter blind old man doesn't mean I have to be. I want to be the fun old man, the one who drags your ass out to parties,” Five declared happily, leaning in so that their faces were mere inches apart. Five could feel the slight, uneven breath from Zero dusting his face. Saints the things he would do to this man.

Zero made a noise of discontentment. “Yeah well how about you be the old man who gets moving, hm?” Zero teased, hands going to Five's waist. Five scoffed. “Do I have to do everything around here? Lazy ass,” He complained before swooping down to kiss Zero again. Zero pressed their chests together, getting rid of any molecule of space between them. Five grinned into the kiss, pleased with the outcome of his suggestion. It was infinitely more exciting than that damn puzzle.

2. i like commenting on fanfics... it makes me really happy to uhhhh express my emotions about something i've read and i love that that's an option with fanfiction.. i pour my entire soul into the comments i leave bc i want the ppl who write to know how deeply their words have affected me bc as a writer myself.. that's smth i like knowing? so i do the same for others idk man

3. cringe ass coming back bro i loveeee character analysis 😭😭 it's one of my fav things ever, i'm literally always thinking about characters and their emotions and everything and all the connections and if it weren't for the fact that my thoughts move so fast that i can't keep up with them .. i would've posted my analysis online before ...

4. another thing ... that makes me happy is reading.... i love words i think they're beautiful and i love seeing other people's stories and thoughts and everything bc it's like gaining an insight into somebody else's experiences and that something i find soooo beautiful so yeah i love words i love reading mmmmmmmm

5. yk what else makes me happy .. drawing uhhh girls! sometimes drawing makes me angry and i deeply regret ever trying to become an artist but other times i think wow how beautiful is it that i am even able to do that in the first place... like wow i can just pick up a pencil or wtv and pour my emotions into an image and other people are free to interpret that in whatever way they wish and isn't that just so cool????

mhh.. I guess something short like a child's book. Y'know, like the ones that teach them? That's my only logical thought..

"Of course it would!" Razzle chirped, pointing the microphone back towards their face. "It's quite a tricky question, isn't it? You'd need a wide imagination to really figure out a story like that! But I want you to think outside of the box; I said no hero, but I never said anything about a protagonist! And though I said no villain, I never said anything about an antagonist! Those two could exist without specifically being good or evil, hero or villain! I'm almost surprised that none of you remembered anti-heroes or anything of the sort!" They walked about the stage as they spoke, their head tilts replacing their need for gesturing with their hands. "Truth is; there are no heroes or villains in any story! Your story could be from the perspective of someone who appears like a mighty hero defeating the most twisted monster that you couldn't even imagine! But have you thought of what that monster would think? They come in, all high and mighty with a sword to slay the monster, but the monster was never truly ill-intentioned to begin with! Maybe they attack not because they want to, but to defend themselves? They scream not to intimidate, but to cry out for help? Then your hero would become the evil!"

Once Razzle's voice died down, Dazzle cleared his throat. His brother got the hint to move the microphone towards Dazzle. "It's not so easy, huh..." The tragedy hummed. "It's hard to imagine the world as complicated as it is right now... good, evil... it's all arbitrary. It's only natural that you'd need to simplify it so you can understand it better. And the only issue with simplifying is that eventually... your simplifications will become so simple that it limits not only our imagination but also your whole view of the world... and it'll be hard to understand when something or someone isn't either good or bad, because you can't really judge a book by its cover..."

Razzle looked at their brother, a bright smile hid their shock. No way, Dazzle spoke more than one sentence? That's unheard of. "With the words you're using, the kids would need to bring dictionaries with them!" The comedy chuckled. The tragedy sighed. "...Sorry."

The microphone was pointed back at the audience, the twins were still curious to learn what they'd say, especially after they shared their own knowledge. "Go on! Give us a story!" The comedy encouraged.

13. Do you like having your hair played with?

If it's brushed, I adore it! If it's tangled, I absolutely despise it. Because my scalp is very sensitive, I easily get aggressive and irritable if it's tugged by tangles because something something sensory issues. I've even slammed my own hand against a table a few times while brushing it bc it's that bad. But if it's brushed properly, I love letting those I'm close to run their fingers through it or play with it or stuff like that, it feels a little more intimate (nsx.) as well because of how terrible my sensory issues can be sometimes so like. Letting people touch it is like. Wow! I really like you and feel comfortable enough with you! Wow!!

30. Do you ever want to get married?

Absolutely yes!! Whether it's to a romantic partner or a queerplatonic one (there's this post in the queerplatonic tag that makes me tear up because it's of someone getting married to their qpp and it's so fucking sweet) the idea of being able to spend the rest of my life with someone and hold a celebration for it is one of my life goals, even. Have I really lived if I have not become someone's loving wifeguy/husbandgirl. I don't even care about the specifics too much, whether there'd be a ceremony or not and all the details about it can be decided when it's closer to becoming a reality, but for now the idea of it is something I hold dear to me and giggle about every few months or so.

I was gonna write a blurb but I just. I wanna yap. so you get that instead. (Also I am so SO sorry this took this long to get to you!!)

AJ, as a character, is so COMPLEX. He goes through so many character arcs by the time he's in his early twenties, and his story is far from over at that point.

He relies on his mothers and siblings more than he cares to admit. He relies on his wit and knowledge and when all of that can't help him, he is truly terrified.

Thanks to his godly heritage; his physical appearance has non-human attributes. namely, his eye color and snake-like pupils. He has Heterochromia. His right eye is red, and his left is a dark cyan. (specific, i know, but all my personas have this trait! it's like...my thing) Other than the snake-like pupils, AJ is thin- he stands at about 5'7 in height; and his presence is unsettling, almost. He's always cold, so he's always seen wearing sweatshirts or sweaters. He has talons for nails on his hands, and his teeth are sharper than average.

by the time he's fully grown, he has more non-human traits than human traits. and that, is all thanks to a specific god who took special in AJ.

some of that complexity that I absolutely adore comes from his feelings towards this god. He appreciates the set of abilities given; but he's faced people who's called him terrible names and done terrible things to him just because of something he can't control.

SPEAKING OF THAT, Shout out to AJ's big brother, Marcus. (He's only about a year or so older than AJ)

Marcus has been a recurring character already in SoTFD, but know you're getting to know him from AJ's perspective- you're seeing Marcus from someone who knows him. Marcus, to AJ, is someone he can turn to when he has absolutely no one.

because Marcus grew up being there for AJ. He's said, "If you think you have no one, you're wrong. you have me."

AJ is not the man he is without Marcus. It is VITAL that Marcus is there because if he is not, AJ is not even human anymore. he succumbs to the negative slew of actions and words given by a specific set of people, and he becomes this... inhuman thing. there's no explanation for it other than He'd be better off dead than becoming that.

AJ isn't that though. He's a kid, who adores reading and writing. a kid who's been dealt a rather shit hand of cards, and he's doing everything to make the best of it. He is a momma's boy (despite denying it at every opportunity). He cries at the dog in sad movies. He loves, and feels and he's human. He wants to be a dad, and have a big family, just like the one he grew up in.

His favorite greek myth/epic to read is The Odyssey (yes, he ADORES epic the musical). He's cried over Achilles and Patroclus (yes, he read TSOA, he was inconsolable for WEEKS). This guy's just a guy!!! and I haven't even gotten to his husbands yet! or his sons!

His husbands and sons, though... that's a whole other post for another time. I could talk for hours about them.

anyways, all this to say....

i’m sick and tired of people calling jason a literature buff and then perceive him as only reading jane austen, because, yes he does canonically read austen avidly, but please let him read other books/authors that reflect him like; crime and punishment, metamorphosis, frankenstein, the art of war, the velveteen rabbit, the count of monte cristo, dante’s inferno, to kill a mockingbird etc— maybe i’m salty because i’m a book nerd and no one gets it right, but i want to see people take canon further and excel it rather than boiling down the one thing and beating it with a stick
