“You know, you’re not bad at this whole boyfriend thing.”

Sebastian hand falters as he starts the car but thankfully Blaine is buckling his seatbelt and doesn’t notice. They’ve been dating for a couple weeks now and Sebastian’s still not sure how it happened. He feels like he’s done nothing but fuck up with Blaine since he met him, so the casual confirmation that he’s doing something right is jarring.

But then, it’s early and he had just handed him coffee, meaning there’s a good chance Blaine’s only saying it because Sebastian’s enabling his caffeine addiction.

So he just smirks and says, “I don’t know why you’re surprised. I’m good at everything I do.”

Blaine snorts into his cup as Sebastian pulls out of the driveway, glancing at his phone for directions.

“Remind me why we’re going to this again?”

“It’s Mr. Schue’s wedding, I have to go.”

“Okay, remind me why I’m going to this again?“

“Because you’re my boyfriend and when I asked you said yes?” Blaine says, looking amused.

“Yeah, but why did you think that was a good idea in the first place? Doesn’t everyone who’s going to be there hate me?”

“Most of them won’t know who you are,” Blaine points out. “This isn’t actually a Glee Club event.”

“Really? I was under the impression your coach didn’t have many adult friends.”

“Just because we haven’t met them doesn’t mean they don’t exist,” Blaine admonishes, smiling. “Sam doesn’t hate you,” he adds, more seriously. “And the new kids don’t either. They just think you’re hot.”

“Everyone there will think I’m hot. They don’t have to like me for that.”

“Besides, it’s not like I’m springing you on them,” Blaine continues, ignoring him. “They all know we’re dating since Tina can’t keep her mouth shut, so they’d probably think it was weirder if you didn’t come.”

Sebastian nods, keeping his eyes on the road. Blaine hasn’t mentioned Kurt specifically, but Sebastian knows he’s going to be there, knows he knows they’re dating, knows he has a new boyfriend himself in New York. Knows all of that is definitely a factor in Blaine’s decision to invite him.

Which is ultimately why he’s going to the wedding of a man he’s never met attended by people who still have every right to hate him. He’s not sure how much of their relationship is just a Kurt thing for Blaine, but he’d rather find out now before he gets even more invested than he already is.

Of course Kurt is waiting right outside the church when they pull up, standing with the one they always trot out at the end of their numbers to belt the last note.

Blaine stiffens at the sight of him and Sebastian wonders if that’s normal. He’s never had an ex himself; no one’s mattered enough to qualify. The closest he’s ever come is probably Blaine and that awkward, awful feeling of caring about someone you weren’t supposed to anymore he used to get when he looked at him. Which is pretty pathetic, honestly. They’d only been friends, and even then only briefly.

They get out of the car and Sebastian can’t resist going over to straighten Blaine’s bow tie, standing way closer than necessary. He can feel Kurt glaring at them from across the parking lot.

“Try to be nice, okay?”

“I’m always nice,” he says, all mock innocence.

Blaine sighs, but looks almost fond as he says, “Let’s get this over with.”

Blaine takes his hand as they walk towards the church and Sebastian recognizes and approves of the message he’s sending. But he can’t help hoping it’s not all for Kurt’s benefit.

“Hey guys!” Blaine says as they reach them, smile way too bright. “Mercedes, you look amazing.”

“Thanks, Blaine,” she says with a tight, awkward smile of her own.

Blaine’s determined cheer falters, and there’s an awkward beat before he says, “Um, you guys remember Sebastian.”

“How could we forget,” Kurt says, all ice as he looks at him. “I heard the Warblers graduated from rock salt to steroids. You must be so proud.”

“Kurt,” Blaine says warningly, but Sebastian just smiles, like they’re sharing a joke.

“Yeah. It’s a good thing I’m leaving, or next year it’d probably be homicide.”

Kurt looks repulsed but before he can respond Blaine pastes back on his smile and says, “Well, I guess we’ll see you guys inside.”

Sebastian gives a cheery wave as Blaine drags him into the church.

“That wasn’t so bad, right?” He says it breezily but he’s genuinely not sure. For all he knows, Blaine could be on the verge of a breakdown.

But he seems fine as he says, “No, it definitely could have been worse. “He squeezes Sebastian’s hand and smiles. “Thanks.”

Before he can ask what for, Blaine spots Sam, who does seem legitimately happy to see both of them, and they head in to find their seats.

“Seriously though, who gets married on Valentine’s Day?” Sebastian gripes as they walk up the aisle.

“I think it’s smart,” Sam says. “You know, combine Valentine’s and your anniversary so you only have to get one present.”

“It’s cool if I call my presence at this wedding my gift to you, right?” Sebastian says. He probably should have thought about this earlier. Blaine is definitely the kind of guy who would be into Valentine’s Day.

But he just shrugs and says, “As long as you count all the free food and drinks you’ll be getting as my gift to you, yeah.”

God, Sebastian might actual have to be thankful to this wedding for taking the pressure off.

“Wait, are you saying I don’t get a serenade at my place of employment later?” he teases. 

Blaine groans. “Who told you about that?”

“Are you kidding? Who didn’t tell me about that.”

“Wait, what are we talking about?” asks Sam.

“Don’t you dare,” Blaine says and Sebastian closes his mouth into a grin.

Looking around, it seems Blaine was right that while there were definitely too many students too intimately involved in the wedding for comfort, the majority of the guests were adult people who probably had more appropriate relationships with the happy couple.

His presence honestly causes less of a stir than he’d expected. Rachel Berry shoots him a suspicious look and immediately starts whispering with Kurt when he takes the seat next to her, but that’s hardly a tragedy, and when he catches Santana looking at him, she just arches an eyebrow and smirks.

It’s too bad; he’d actually been kind of looking forward to the trouble. He finds weddings boring enough when he actually knows the people getting married, he needs something to provide some amusement.

He gets it when the bride enters.

She’s not what he was expecting, not that he had many expectations for the woman who’d agreed to marry Will Schuester, but based on the look of resigned horror on the groom’s face and the way the music almost immediately screeches to a halt, she wasn’t what anyone else was expecting either.

Blaine informs him in whispers that despite the fact that she’s wearing a wedding dress and holding a bouquet, the woman walking the aisle is not the actual bride, but the cheerleading coach and mortal enemy of the Glee Club, Sue Sylvester. Because of course the New Directions have a mortal enemy with the name of a cartoon cat.

In any case, he’s provided with way more entertainment than he’d dared hope. The news that the real bride had left the building was undoubtedly devastating, but to someone with no investment in the couple, the whole situation was pretty hilarious and as a bonus meant the wedding was cut short. This was honestly his best case scenario.

Unfortunately, they still have to go to the reception.

“Good God,” Sebastian says with horror as they enter.

“It’s not that bad,” Blaine says.

“There are neon hearts on the walls, Blaine. It’s that bad.”

Blaine laughs and shakes his arm. “Don’t be so dramatic. Come on, let’s get some food.”

“Drinks first. I need alcohol if I’m going to have to spend all night under that disco ball.”

They end up at a table with Sam and his vacant blonde girlfriend, and it’s admittedly not terrible. Well, the reception itself definitely is, but Blaine’s laughing and keeps looking over and smiling at him so Sebastian can’t bring himself to mind much.

Eventually Sam and his girlfriend get up to go dance. All the music is of course being provided by the New Directions, but whatever else can be said of them, they’re never actually bad. He’s definitely heard worse wedding music.

He’s about to ask Blaine if he wants to dance too when Kurt pops up behind him like Nosferatu.

“Blaine, can I talk to you?”

“Sure,” Blaine says. Was that awkwardness or hope on his face?

“Alone,” Kurt says pointedly.

Blaine looks at Sebastian, who shrugs. Might as well get it over with. Whatever it was.

“Yeah, okay.” He gets up to follow Kurt, but looks back at him before leaving. “I’ll be back in a minute.”

“Sure.” It comes out clipped, which feels like a loss. He’s sure there are legitimate reasons why Blaine can’t just let Kurt go, but they’re beyond his understanding.

Blaine leaves and Sebastian finishes his drink, stewing. He hates feeling like this, hates the uncertainty.

He’s seconds away from following them and doing something stupid like butting in or starting a fight when the Asian one (Tina, he knows her name is Tina because this is his life now) plops down across from him, glaring at him so intensely he gets caught up in some sort of weird staring contest. Which is how Blaine finds him when he returns.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m not sure, but I think I’m winning.”

“You are not!” Tina snaps.

Sebastian smirks and breaks eye contact, looking up at Blaine. “What’s up?”

“You wanna dance?”

He seems… good. Steady. And looking around, Sebastian can’t see Kurt anywhere, so maybe… maybe this is actually happening.

“I’d love to.”

When they get on the dance floor Finn and Rachel are singing a duet that’s not really appropriate for a wedding but is probably deeply representative of their current relationship status, which he finds almost endearing. He must be in a good mood.

“I love weddings,” Blaine says. Sebastian can feel his happy sigh on his cheek.

“You know no one actually got married right?”

“Yeah, but the reception’s the best part anyway. A whole big party celebrating how in love you are.”

“Really? I thought they were breeding grounds for ill-advised hook ups and other drunken mistakes. Speaking of which, is it just me or are Lopez and Fabray about two seconds from leaving together?”

“I don’t know about that, but Finn and Rachel definitely are.”

“Oh yeah, that goes without saying.”

“It’s still nice though,” Blaine says stubbornly. “I hope we get it someday.” He gives an annoyed huff at Sebastian’s raised eyebrows. “I mean we as in the LGBT community. Don’t freak out.”

“I’m not. I’d be pretty offended if that was you proposing.”

Blaine laughs softly into Sebastian’s shoulder. “Thank you,” he says after a moment.

"For…?”

“I’ve been kinda dreading this wedding for a while, but I’m having a really good time.”

If he’d been asked, Sebastian would have said ‘not as big a dick as he could have been’ was the best review he could hope for. Apparently Blaine disagrees. That, or he doesn’t have very high standards, which seems more likely.

“Me too,” he says honestly, because he can’t really complain when Blaine is holding him this close. “And hey, we’re still free to have an ill-advised hook up.” He pauses for effect, then finishes, “We as in the LGBT community, of course.”

Blaine laughs, then looks up at him, eyes twinkling. “Yeah, we personally couldn’t. I mean, it doesn’t count as ill-advised if we’re dating, right?”

Okay, he thinks as Blaine pulls him through the hotel hallway and kisses him against the door of their room. He might be pretty good at this whole boyfriend thing.

I agree that I'm glad Michael was still a good sport in both stories and in neither of them was anybody the 'bad guy'.

Oh, I definitely have more! Just getting DEAN to admit his true feelings doesn’t solve the issue. Cas would have no reason to realized Dean’s sudden epiphany and STOP avoiding him. So this came out to just over 1700 words!!!!!

Also, Dean gets a little dramatic, kinda by accident. Oh Dean...lol

without further ado: the Love Triangle - Dean and Cas Divergent third part

Of course, once Dean left Michael’s room he realized he still had the problem of Cas avoiding him. How could he talk with him, how could he tell him, if Dean couldn’t get anywhere near him?

Getting into the Impala, Dean drove home deep in thought. Maybe Sam could help him out.

In the end, no amount of planning helped. It became a waiting game. First, Dean and Michael made sure everyone knew they’d broken up, but on good terms. Then, when Cas still managed to duck out of every possible situation he and Dean could meet up in, Dean turned to other methods.

He started leaving notes in Cas’s locker.

Of course, there was always the idea that Cas would just toss them away, ignore them the way he’d been ignoring all of Dean’s other attempts at contacting him – the phone calls and texts, the emails. Even Facebook instant message, that’s how desperate Dean had been (still was, but it was clear he needed to admit defeat on that avenue).

So to find out whether Cas was even reading the notes, Dean enlisted Charlies help.

Of course, at first she didn’t even want to talk to him, but once he got her to listen she started grinning and bouncing on the balls of her feet.

“I’ll go over there, all Mission Impossible,” she was fiddling with her phone and suddenly it blared out the theme song and Dean cursed, snatching it from her hands.

“Not very subtle Red, he’s sure to know somethings up if you do that,” Dean pointed out.

She pouted. “But I was gonna be a super spy! You ruin all my fun.” He gave her a look and she rolled her eyes and let out a huffy, “Fine!” before scampering off after getting her phone back from him.

And then Dean waited. And waited. He watched Cas from across the room in class – Cas having switched his seat to be nowhere near Dean, of course – and moped. Cas couldn’t avoid him forever, could he?

He was so preoccupied with trying to get Cas’s attention, that Dean wasn’t even noticing the slip in his grades, or his appetite. He stopped going to the games, or even hanging out with his friends. When he wasn’t in school, he was trying to think of some way he could corner Cas and get him to listen!

Dean was so frustrated he was near tears! And Michael was no help. Apparently, all attempts to talk to his brother was met with slamming doors and a silent treatment the likes of which no one in his household had ever been subjected to before.

“I knew Cassie was stubborn, but I had no idea he was this stubborn. Sorry, Dean,” Michael said with a grimace before running off to practice.

Dean couldn’t even enlist Gabriel’s aid since the eldest Novak had returned to college. There was no use in asking Meg, she delighted in stonewalling him.

It had been a month since he and Michael had broken up and Dean was no closer to getting Cas to listen to him than he’d been when it all had started. He didn’t know how much more of this he could take. He felt so fucking alone…the one person he could turn to for help…was the one person he couldn’t get near.

It all came to a head one day in class. Dean had been feeling dizzy all morning, hot and lethargic. He hadn’t taken in a single word said by a teacher and his feet moved at the ringing of each bell on automatic, though they dragged. His eyes kept blurring out and he had a headache too.

Maybe he was sick? Nah, he was just tired. That was all.

He detoured to a bathroom to splash some cold water on his face, trying to cool down and the next thing he knew, was on the floor, someone above him speaking frantically.

“Dean? Dean! Oh my god, Dean! Are you all right?” the voice as familiar, gravelly and welcome. He hadn’t hear it in so long, Dean was sure he was imagining it. Or dreaming. Yeah, that’s what was happening, he was dreaming.

“Cas?” he rocked his head around to try and see him but wound up groaning with how much dizzier it made him feel.

“Don’t move, Dean. I sent Charlie for the nurse, okay?”

“Cas? ‘s really you? I miss ya…” Dean eyes closed, speech slurred.

“No! Keep your eyes open and stay awake! I think you hit your head when you fell. You, you might have a concussion!”

“Oh.” Dean said flatly, “tha’ ‘splains it. Mus’ be…’lucin-a’ing…” Deans tongue felt too thick and hard to move around. “Wish you were real…then…I coul’ tell ya…tha’ I love ya…” Dean could feel the tears rolling down his face like hot brands and he sniffed.

“Oh…oh Dean…” Cas’s voice quivered. Would a hallucination do that? Dean wondered before everything was dark again.

Next time he woke up, there was a soft beeping sound to his left and a soft light coming from his right. He didn’t feel as dizzy and hot as he’d been, but he still didn’t have much energy to move. Still, he managed to shift his head towards the sound – and blinked at the hospital monitor thingy he saw there. He was in the hospital? Why?

He shifted again, towards the soft light this time, to find Cas asleep in a chair, his phone held slack in his hand and the light coming from a partially closed door to a bathroom.

What the hell was going on? And why was Cas here? Dean’s heart had leaped at the sight of Cas, the monitor’s beeping jumping out of its set rhythm at the same time. He opened his mouth and found it dry enough that he croaked when he tried to say his best friends name.

Cas jumped, his phone clattering to the ground, suddenly alert and staring at Dean. “Dean! You’re awake!”

“Wha’…ha’ened,” Dean managed around his painfully dry throat.

“Wait, uh…” Cas looked around before lighting on a watercup with a straw and bringing it over, “Drink first, then we can talk.” He held the straw out to Dean and Dean’s eyes watered as he stared up at Cas wonderingly.

“Really?” Dean croaked before Cas literally shoved the straw into his mouth.

“Drink, Dean, then yes, really. We’ll talk, I promise. I’m not gonna run away anymore.” Cas said gently.

While Dean drank, his eyes never left Cas’s face, drinking in every inch of it. How’d he ever mistake what he felt for Michael for this? ‘Cause this was the real deal, Dean was sure of it.

With a sigh, Cas started talking. “Okay, so you probably wanna know why you’re in the hospital, right?” Dean nodded, taking another slow sip of lukewarm water through the straw. “Well, I guess you basically ran yourself into the ground, not taking care of yourself, and you got sick from it. You didn’t look all that good in class and…”

Cas looked down for a second, “And I missed you and when you didn’t show up for Trig, I got worried. When I found you in the bathroom, you’d fallen – docs say you probably fainted from dehydration and shit -  and it looks like you hit your head on the sink on the way down. There was blood…” Cas gulped.

“Dean, you scared me…” Cas looked at Dean with sad, soulful eyes and Dean wished he had the energy to lift his hand and twine his fingers in Cas’s. “I thought…I didn’t know what to think. And then…and then…do you remember what you said?”

Dean squinted and thought a minute. What had he said?

“You said you loved me…Did you mean it?” Cas’s voice was so soft, it was almost drowned out by the beeping.

Dean’s fingers twitched, trying to move so he could push the cup away. He opened his mouth to let go of the straw and hoped Cas would get the hint. He did, and he hurriedly put it away, eyes wide as he stared at Dean.

Dean swallowed, “Yeah, Cas. I did mean it. I’m a big, fuckin’ moron, and I don’t know how you could possibly love me, but yeah…I love ya, man. And I’ve never felt so lost without you as I did this week. I’m so sorry.”

“No, Dean, don’t be sorry. If I’d just talked to you, if I hadn’t been avoiding you, you probably wouldn’t even be in this state, would you?” Cas had always been too smart for Dean’s own good.

Dean grimaced, not wanting to admit it, not wanting to make Cas feel even worse than he already did. If they were honest with each other – and he sure hoped to God they would be, from now on – they were both partially to blame. After all, Dean’s initial obliviousness had led to this.

In a round a bout fashion.

But that no longer mattered. What mattered was here and now. Him and Cas. Together. Finally.

Cas stroked Deans head, fingers pushing into his hair, longer right now than usual since he’d let himself go so much. “I’m sorry, Dean,” he whispered.

“No, Cas, don’t…we’re both sorry, so why don’t we just…start over. Maybe with a kiss?” Dean asked hopefully.

“A kiss seems an appropriate fresh start for us,” Castiel said breathlessly and with amusement, his eyes shining brightly.

“Glad you agree,” Dean chuckled lightly, still so weak and tired.

They stared at each other another, long moment, Cas’s fingers still in Dean’s hair, scratching just enough that if Dean were a cat, he’d have purred. He grinned at Cas as he waited for his kiss, his fresh start. Their fresh start.

“Oh!” Cas blinked and then smiled, leaning down to tentatively kiss Dean.

It was awkward and clumsy and was instantly the best kiss he’d ever received. Dean knew this kiss, this first kiss with Cas, would be something he’d remember and treasure for the rest of his life.

And when he fell back asleep, in a more natural slumber this time, Cas had dragged his chair over and laid his head against Dean’s, their fingers twined on the bed together.

Why is our group health insurance so much more expensive than getting an individual plan privately?

My husband gets insurance through his work, and they take out $170 a week (he gets paid weekly). So that totals about $730 a month for us and our kids plus maternity benefits. I'm almost 20 years old, a full time student and do not have health insurance. When I was 16, my parents switched insurance companies, and for some reason or other they did not put me on their policy. So I have not had insurance for 3 years. In February I found out I was pregnant so I began applying for Medicaid. Before all the paperwork was done, I had miscarried and in the process racked up almost $6000 in medical bills. I went to the medicaid office and they told me that they would cover my bills even though I was no longer pregnant and college students don't qualify. After 2 months of waiting, Medicaid denied me and the hospital turned me into a collection agency. I was denied because I make too much money. I make $8.55 an hour and work about 15 hours a week. Yes I do make good money for a student but I have worked at the business for 3 1/2 years. Because I am not a full time employee, I don't qualify for insurance, but only managers and department heads are full time. I can't get a second job to help pay the costs because my first job wont work around another one, and I can't find a full time job because no where is hiring. Couple of days later we received renewal documents from the insurance company. We have been with those company for 2 years, we didn' t make any claims. I thanked the guy and said that we do not wish to extend the insurance and I am only waiting for the 2years of NBC. He said ok and I thought it was sorted. We went on holiday abroad on 21st of May and got back on the 7th of June and imagine my surprise when in the post I have found the letter from insurance company with the certificate of insurance enclosed and them thanking me for deciding to stay with them and saying that my monthly instalment is 130 pounds!!! Okay so I am 18 years old living on my own completely dependent. Now if I put my dad as a secondary owner to my car so I still have possession of it and got on his insurance would it be cheaper? Or would it have to be his car. I live in Oregon by the way. And also could I get better rates if say I got on my grandma's insurance?
