Why I am leaving this blog

This is the truth as of why I'm abandoning my tumblr, @/sageinacage.

CW: swearing/harsher language; mentions of breaking boundaries, sexualization, bondage, non-con/tickle torture, kinks, toxicity, overall rly uncomfortable topics

TLDR at the bottom.

Before I start, I want to say that I’m not talking about everyone in this community. Not everyone is like this, but still a lot of people are, and unfortunately the negatives are louder than the positives.

Having this blog was quite an adventure. It definitely had its ups and downs, but I was quick to notice that it had a majority of downs instead of ups. As of now, I'm dreading being on this page.

I don't feel comfortable here anymore and it's incredibly hard for me to feel any sense of safety in this community, and I honestly feel personally ashamed to be in the MCYT tickle community with the bullshit me and others have seen and experienced.

People go around on anonymous and practically harass creators, I've seen so many rude anons get sent to myself, my friends, and people on my dash. People are also breaking CC's boundaries left and right, and no one will listen to anyone when it's spoken up about. I remember making a post stating that if you send anon hate then DNI, and I lost 4 followers. So disappointing. Actually after I took a screenshot of my boundary/trigger list and posted it, someone sent me an ask and did EXACTLY what was listed in my triggers. It went fully against my boundaries, and it caused me to feel scared whenever I get a notification in my inbox, because I’m scared that somebody is trying to purposely trigger me again; and I shouldn’t have to be on Tumblr with such paranoia as I’m experiencing.

Going onto the topic of the more weird and uncomfortable side of the community, I also remember I made a post a while ago saying "if you support putting minors in heavy bondage, then unfollow," and I lost 5+ followers. To put it bluntly, that’s fucking disgusting. For those people to admit for putting minors in a borderline NSFW situation, since heavy bondage is quite literally something that only happens in the kink world and there’s nothing wholesome or cute about it, and for them to admit to doing it, is fucking weird. Though, I’m thankful those people got off my blog.

I have literally seen someone post art of c!Ranboo in heavy restraints and it didn’t even look remotely fun or consensual. It was pictured, or at least my friends and I interpreted it, that he was being tickle tortured and it was non-con. Though, it’s to be expected when the art is a dark-lit room with an intense tickle machine with heavy bondage, with a blindfold and what looks he is genuinely struggling. What made me even more uncomfortable is that an adult drew it. Another person wrote a fic of c!Ranboo in a lot of bondage with the sign “tickle toy” attached to him. That’s fucking weird. That’s practically something that never gets condoned in a strictly SFW sense. The sad part is that others and I have seen a lot of this happening around.

I was actually informed that an artist the other day on another MCYT tickle server drew literal non-con tickle art of Technoblade (/srs). I was revolted. The worst part is, some people didn't even have an issue with it and reacted to the image with heart emojis. For someone to draw non-con in a completely SFW server filled with a bunch of minors is creepy and weird. Non-con isn't a fun thing, and so many people, including me, have horrible experiences related to it; and for someone to turn it into a "heehee fun tickle" situation is fucked up. For someone to even fantasize non-con as a tickle fantasy just makes me feel sick. There are a few fics like this I've seen as well, unfortunately.

Related to non-con things, I've actually gotten a request before asking me to write Schlatt literally tickle torturing Tubbo, and multiple asks that are similar to that; even when on my request rules it stated not to ask for things related to that. Anything with the word "torture" in it is not consensual, especially in the context it was in. I’ve probably had to delete around 5–8 asks in total from my inbox that were related to non-con or torturous things, even after I already stated in my rules I do not write that stuff.

Another thing I've seen is romantic-esque things written with CCs and then the creator slaps a "/p" onto it, and all of a sudden it's okay? Ranboo has even stated in a stream that he is uncomfortable with his IRL self being written/drawn cuddling his friends, and I see so many fics and concepts of IRL Ranboo cuddling in some way (which I've spoken out about before, but again, no one listened).

Moving on, I've probably met the most toxic people in this community than any others I've been apart of- and I've been apart of a lot, I've been on Tumblr on different blogs since I was 11. For some reason, so many people love to guilt trip here (both my friends and I have noticed and experienced a bunch of people doing it in this community), and the people who get called out for it avoid apologizing like the plague. A person in this community made me and a few others literally scared to say no and scared to advocate for our boundaries, because of how much we got guilt tripped. And no, no one received an apology. But still, people DEFENDED this person, even though me and other people spoke out and explained how this person hurt us. That’s so fucking upsetting. I automatically don’t feel safe in a community where people willingly associate with a literal manipulator and someone who hurt probably over 10 people in total (/srs).

Another thing I've noticed is that so many people seem entitled to something. For example, when I got practically harassed by anons for my discomforts/triggers, basically trying to squeeze out reasoning. No one needs to explain their boundaries/discomforts to you, and this community doesn't understand that from what I've experienced; after being harassed by multiple people on anonymous multiple times, all of which were because of personal reasons I was not obligated to share. No one should be able to say that they got harassed by people on anon for their OWN BOUNDARIES. ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AS WELL.

Long story short, I can’t help my triggers. Each of my triggers has developed from trauma I’ve gone through or a bad experience, and I shouldn’t even have to defend myself for my triggers/discomforts if people were respectful and weren’t so fucking entitled for an explanation. So many people in this community can’t mind their own business, and I unfortunately had to learn that the hard way.

I've also seen people project onto IRL CCs. Those are real and breathing people. I understand doing it for comfort, but, the CCs have a literal character that people can project onto, but for some reason, people have to push their things onto real life people. I’ve seen someone headcannon IRL Tommy as trans. That's like the same as your friend "headcannoning" you, a real person, as a different sexuality that isn't what you identify with, and one you may not even be OK with being seen as, and without knowing if you're comfortable with it or not. It's weird.

There are more points I could bring up and more specific things I could state, but I think you got the gist of why I'm leaving. I don't feel comfortable being a member in a community which a lot of its members condone in this stuff.

This is the reason why I'm only active in the MCYT tickle community on Discord, because my server, "Mcytickles," actually respects CCs boundaries and is truly an SFW server, and people are respectful towards each other. It's the only safe space I have in this community anymore, so please do not join it if you exhibit any of these things on this post.

No, I will not be coming back, so please do not try to convince me to stay. I’ve been wanting to leave for about a month now, so this isn’t some impulsive decision. I’ve been in the MCYT tickle community since April, and these problems have always existed but have just gotten worse and more extreme, so I’m leaving for my own mental health and to protect myself from further harm than what I’ve already received.

TLDR: I am leaving this blog and the MCYT tickle community on Tumblr due to the many boundary breaking and unacceptable behaviors I've seen be exhibited, and it makes me not feel safe and comfortable to be here anymore.

I want to thank my mutuals, though. You were all awesome and such kind and loving people, and I’m happy to be your guys’ mutual. I want to thank those who were always so nice to me and hyping up my work, and those who were respectful to everyone and advocated for boundaries. Thank you so much for everything, moots <3 (/gen)

Multiple different smokes - Gunpowder from a recent scuffle, the tobacco of his pipe that smells like cherry wood, and the smoked roast he and his dog had for dinner. Sweat and any grime he gets into are bound to cling to him, yet it’s surprising how well he can clean it off, and if it wasn’t for his smoking he could always smell like fresh linen. Occasionally there’s a earthy, woody musk that wafts off of him, but only if he’s about to go anywhere he deems needing such a scent.

2. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙚’𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚?

Large hands that could crush your own in a handshake (and sometimes does, though it’s purely an accident through his excitement, he swears). You can practically feel every fiber of muscle with every movement, yet such in-depth feeling is somewhat blocked by rough skin that has never had proper care until a recent assistant had started to fuss. Little scars are here and there, mostly from his first years in the military and learning how to properly take care of his weapons years before that. On particularly rough working days, you could probably scratch patches of dead skin off with your nails, or notice Barawa doing it himself without noticing, but the former would make him quite embarrassed. 

3. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙪𝙨𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙙𝙖𝙮?

Whatever’s on the menu for breakfast (aka whatever he can scrounge up), with maybe a few pitstops here and there for a snack throughout the workday, before having whatever meat dish available to him for dinner to share between Buddy and Sarya, and alcohol in equal quantity. If money’s tight or business has got him down (either too busy or too stumped to eat), all meals are forgone and only drinks can satisfy his weary heart, until either Sarya or his stomach tell him otherwise, at which point he makes sure both Sarya and Buddy are good first before he sulks off somewhere for a meal at some bar or a certain cafe...

Well his seiyuu has the vocals; makes my heart swoon for real y’all. (Multiple videos for your listening pleasure; also fun tidbit but he also played Japanese Olaf, so have these for some fun. And also this from the 2019 Disney live; I take anything I can get in Shunsuke Takeuchi content and will push out his content whenever possible.) 

*Coughs* So, um, yeah I’d say Barawa’s an okay singer. He’ll probably sing songs he learned back in his military days, and probably won’t sing unless really jovial or really drunk on sake, and his singing voice is more on the gruff and raw side, but it’d still warm your heart and make you smile hearing it.

5. 𝘿𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙗𝙖𝙙 𝙝𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙨?

Like I had said further up, if his hands are really rough or dry, he’ll scratch or peel off the dry skin without even noticing he’s doing it. He will also start speaking louder when nervous (yeah, you didn’t think this guy could get any louder, huh?), though it’s more of embarrassed-nervous than anxious-nervous; he doesn’t actually get the latter feeling too often. What he does often get is frustrated, either by logic puzzles he makes / is made for him to solve and he can’t actually solve anything logical (which has at least resulted in busted down doors and literally ripping apart a guillotine), or by the logic of basic things around him that he forgets time and time again (buying captain alcohol even though at the time they were underaged for starters).  

6. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙪𝙨𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 / 𝙬𝙚𝙖𝙧?

Detective-type clothes! Though I’ve also considered his fashion a little steampunk as well, though maybe I just get that from his very brown color scheme or his waistcoat. But his usual style is brown/beige designed waistcoat, white button up with sleeves rolled up and shirt never buttoned up all the way (he’s a draph; I can understand his concern if he did try that), long brown pants and brown combat boots (or sometimes the stylish shoes from his light sr), his leather garterbelts on his legs/hip and around his arms (I don’t know what they’re actually called, help) probably to hold very important things, and his ascot.........Because why not an ascot? I like his red one better, so let’s say that’s his usual one. He also wears a hat (fedora-esque and brown) with steampunk-like goggles attached. Occasionally he either pairs it with a regular brown coat, or the fancy brown coat from his light sr. His color palette (minus the red ascot) is really muted or earthy. This is the fashion he wears literally everywhere; he can’t afford other clothes, nor does he desire to buy anymore clothes.

7. 𝙄𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙖𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚?  𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝?  𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙨𝙤?

Depends on his state and the person he’s giving the affection to. If it’s anyone younger than him, oh you can bet that they’ll get the headpat or hair ruffle at some point, whether on accident or on purpose, but only if he likes them or trusts them well enough (or, if they’re an actual kid, if they just look like they need it). He’ll also be the type to give you a good slap on the back if you’ve done a good job or he thinks you need some pep in your step, regardless of age. Only if he’s very drunk, very concerned over you / deduce that you need affection immediately, or if he is very comfortable with you as a romantic partner or best friend, will he then go for hugs or cuddles (though for the latter he is always big spoon, no matter what).

8. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙨𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙞𝙣?

He’s the type that can sleep practically anywhere and in any position except standing up. In talking about a regular bed, though, it’s usually on his back with either his arms crossed over his chest like he’s mad, or his arms by his side but looking like he could reach for something at any moment. But he’s probably both the heaviest and the lightest sleeper among the crew, depending on what’s happening around them, and can either wake up in an instant or take half the day.

9. 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢?

Golf Balls and Cannonballs (SR! fanfic)

(Something Rotten fanfic #12 [frat boy AU]. Nick, Will, and Nigel go mini golfing, and the game takes a minor detour.)

Nick’s golf club tapped the purple ball, which was only a foot away from the hole. Instead of going in, it skated along the edge and kept going. Will held back a laugh, and Nick groaned. The game wasn’t going well for him at all.

It was a warm day, even for May. Finals week had recently ended for Nick Bottom and Will Shakespeare, and it was a relief for both of them. Staying up at night, sweating over textbooks and the fear of tests to come had kept them miserable. Now that their Junior Year was complete, they needed to celebrate. Nigel had suggested mini golf, and neither of them had objected to the idea.

Nick turned to his fourteen-year-old brother, who had completed the hole in two strokes. “I hate mini golf. Why am I here?”

“You haven’t been in a really, really long time.” Nigel replied, looking over the white score sheet. He smiled when he saw that he was in the lead again, and it was only the fifth hole. He adjusted his glasses and looked up at his older brother. “Not since we were kids.”

“You’re still a kid.”

Nigel huffed. “Not since you were a kid.”

Nick laughed at his brother’s impatience, and turned to watch Will tap his blue ball into the hole. It whirled around the inside for a moment, and made a satisfying “plunk” when it hit the bottom.

“Ha. Perfect shot.” Will folded his arms confidently. “Only three strokes.” Nick shook his head, a smirk forming on the edge of his lips. “Four strokes, love.”

Will’s confidence disappeared. He turned to Nigel, who nodded in agreement.

“Fine. Four.” He shrugged as Nigel wrote down his score. “I’m still doing better than you, Nicky.” Will nudged his boyfriend teasingly.

Nick laughed, shoved him off, and prepared to swing again. “Oh, shut up. I’ll get it this time, for sure.” He’d been saying the same thing at every hole, and he’d always come in last. His score was becoming increasingly pathetic by the minute.

“Famous last words.” Will mumbled to Nigel, who giggled.

After glaring at Will over his shoulder, Nick gently tapped the ball with his golf club. It rolled until it was on the edge of the hole. It didn’t fall in. Nigel and Will laughed, and Nick threw his arms in the air in defeat.

“You know what? Screw this. I’m way over par anyway.” He nudged the ball into the hole with his foot, just to prove a point. Plunk. “There. Done. Can we move on, please?”

When Will finally stopped laughing, he managed to gasp, “You’re no fun, Nick.”

“So you’ve said.”

The trio moved to the next hole. Even though the majority of the scenery was fake, it was still very appealing. The course was built around a man-made cave, and the next hole was impossible to see from the other end of the course. A pond stood nearby, the water sparkling in the morning sunlight. It was more peaceful than any of them had expected.

“This place is so much better than that indoor course,” Nigel said admiringly.

“Maybe if you hadn't started that fist fight with Portia, we’d still be allowed there,” Nick said bitterly.

Even though Nigel and Portia were best friends, they were competitive about their grades (and pretty much everything else). During the winter, Will took them indoor mini golfing, and he ended up having to break up their fight at the last hole. They’d been banned shortly after.

Nigel nodded sheepishly. “I know. We were both having an off day. Besides, she totally started it,” he mumbled.

Nick positioned his ball and held back a laugh. “Sure she did. That tiny girl totally threw the first punch,” he said sarcastically. He took a swing. The ball bounced off a fake rock obstacle, and rolled back toward him. “Damn it!”

“Actually, I was there, and she did start the fight. That little girl plays hockey, and she had a root canal a few months ago. She's tougher than she looks.”

Nigel was setting up for his first stroke, but he wasn't paying attention. Instead, he was listening to the conversation about his best friend. He’d never admit it, but he was starting to develop feelings for Portia. Not that they would ever be allowed to date, and there was no way she felt the same way about him. But he could dream.

“You'd never guess that she plays hockey. She's tiny and sweet”

His heart started thudding.

“Yup. She's practically an adorable, blonde puppy.”

Nigel was becoming more and more frazzled. He took a deep breath, and tried to focus on hitting the ball.

“She has those huge eyes and that smile.Totally disarming.”

Nigel blindly swung his club. The ball sailed over the guardrail, was airborne for a second, and finally landed in the water with a “ploonk”.

“Shoot!” Nigel hissed. He glared in the direction of the pool.

Will wasn’t deterred. “Let’s see where it landed. It couldn’t have gone far.” He left the green, pranced over to the pool, and knelt by the water’s edge. A fence divided the green from the start of the pool (Which was present for obvious reasons. Will reasoned that it must have been at least 5 feet deep). Nick and Nigel followed.

“See it?” he asked, as Nigel peered into the water. He pushed his glasses up higher on his nose, and spotted a small yellow sphere at the bottom of the far end of the pool. He pointed it out to Will.

“I guess I need to get a new ball,” Nigel lamented, rising up from his crouched position.

Nick shrugged. “Don’t worry about it, Nige. It happens.”

At least they hadn’t asked him why he had missed. An embarrassing conversation about his crush would’ve been too much for him. Nigel turned and began the walk of shame back toward the main entrance, but was stopped by the call of, “Nigel! Wait!”

Curious, he turned around just in time to see Will yank off his white Star Wars t-shirt and toss it toward a very confused Nick. “I got this. Stand back.” He kicked off his sneakers and started to climb the guardrail, but Nick grabbed his shoulder and pulled him back.

“Will, don’t do it. You’re gonna get us thrown out.” Nick would never admit it, but he loved to see Will topless. Not that he had a perfect figure. He had a bit of a stomach and wasn’t toned at all (in fact, he’d been working on losing weight throughout the semester). But he was beautiful, and Nick couldn’t get enough of him.

Will shrugged him off. “Nonsense. The young Bottom needs my assistance.” His tone was dutiful, and he nodded toward Nigel.

“The course is practically empty, anyway.” Nigel vouched. “And we’re in a secluded part. He won’t get caught.”

Mini golfing was one of Nigel’s favorite pastimes. If he feared another ban, he would say something. Also, Nick knew that his brother rarely argued with Will, since he looked up to him. He occasionally wished Will would behave more like a role model, but that was a tall order. Nigel’s judgement wasn’t bad, even though he was just a kid, so Nick decided to let Will go through with the golf ball rescue.

With a sigh, Nick reluctantly released Will’s shoulder, and stepped back. “Don’t draw too much attention-”

Before Nick could finish, Will launched himself off the rail, and cannonballed into the pool with an enormous splash. The water didn’t quite reach where Nick and Nigel were standing. Nick whirled around, making sure none of the staff members had heard the splash. Fortunately, Nigel was correct, and they were in the clear.

Nigel was in hysterics. Nick shook his head in disgust, as he watched Will swim to the other end of the pool. He made a big performance out of retrieving the ball. Not wanting to waste too much time, he started to gracefully swim back toward his spectators.

Unlike his brother, who was nervously standing guard, Nigel was loving it. He leaned against the fence, smirking. “How’s the water?”

Will lazily leaned his head back into the water and smiled. “Not too bad, actually. You should join me.” He playfully splashed Nigel, causing the boy to yelp and bounce backwards, laughing.

Nick was determined to stop this before it could start. “Will, you’re a terrible influence.”

“Thanks. I take pride in that.”

“Nigel, don’t even think about jumping in after him.”

Nigel giggled, but stayed where he was. Just watching Will’s rebellious dunk was thrilling enough for him.

After savoring the water for another moment, Will unsuccessfully attempted to hoist himself out of the pool. The slippery edge didn’t help the fact that he possessed little upper arm strength. Pathetically, he glanced up at Nick and Nigel, his blue eyes pleading. They matched the color of the water. “A little help?”

They each grabbed an arm and lifted Will out of the water. He shook himself off, his hair soaked to the point where it almost looked black. The water made the surface of his naturally tan skin sparkle. His shorts were dripping, leaving a small puddle at his feet. “That was a nice dip.” He held out the ball to Nigel. “Thanks for hitting it into the water,” he joked.

Nigel snatched the ball away in mock anger. “I didn’t do it on purpose.”

“Thanks anyway, young Bottom.” Suddenly, a mischievous expression crossed Will’s face, and he spun to face his boyfriend. He opened his arms wide, and flashed a huge smile to match. “How about a hug, Nicky, love?” He stepped forward, prompting Nick to step back.

Half-kidding, Nick replied, “Will, I swear to god, if you get me wet-”

Pouncing, Will tackled Nick to the ground before he could finish his threat. They hit the green hard, Will falling on top of Nick.

Nick was rattled for a moment, but he looked up and saw his boyfriend’s grinning face. God, he was gorgeous. A few drops of water dangled from the ends of his hair, and dripped onto Nick’s face. His clothes were newly wet, but he didn’t care.

Looking up at him, Nick silently wished that Will wouldn’t have to leave for England in a week.

Instinctively, Nick pulled Will’s face in, and the couple kissed passionately. Nick loved the feeling of his boyfriend’s cool, damp skin, and they became lost in the kisses.

Nigel was bright red, which was his usual reaction to his brother’s romantic moments . When they didn’t stop kissing, he said sharply, “I thought we were playing mini golf, not mini grope.”

Ignoring Nigel’s terrible pun, Nick embraced Will as they rose to continue the game. “This is more my speed.”
