Hi to my Coroika and phighting fans so how are we feeling about this one

cooked these up in a few hours! These honestly didn’t really take that long at all and were really fun to do since I got to play around with some charcoal brushes (I love doing everything in my power to NOT use midtones lmfao).

I tired to mimic the style of the manga a bit and I think i did relatively okay! I have a lot more of these planned so yeah >:3! Really excited to get to do them sometime

so anyway i saw the little mermaid and it was absolutely incredible. in my opinion it blew the original out of the water AND was superior to all of the other disney live actions

Hey, on the plus side, at least Keith actually ends up talking to Shiro when he starts suspecting that he might be half Galra. They both know that if he was 100% himself right now, he probably would not be doing that. This is a fact they are likely both keenly aware of during the discussion. Shiro encourages Keith to talk to the team about it, but ultimately makes sure he knows it's his decision.

Been forever since I've shared anything for my cryptid blorbs so yeahhh ajskdl some sketches of Link and Zel, concepts for skvader blupees and reimagining of majoras mask keatons, and one with tiny Link and his pa ♡ Was looking through old posts the other day and don't think I've shared any backstory for these guys so akdkf I'll put some under the cut TvT

So uhh forget how much I've said but basic concept for the AU and why Link and Zel are monsters is because they were given too much power from their patron goddesses (Nayru for Zelda and Farore for Link.) Mortal Hylian bodies weren't created to possess divine power and being touched by it in such a raw state warped them.

Setting for the AU is the downfall timeline, when the goddesses seem distant and most all monsters are seen as evil and dangerous. Friendly Zora are a thing of the past, Goron's are scarce, and the sight of monsters and creatures near a village fills it with fear.

Link grew up in this kind of small village. His family never had much but they made it day to day and were all very close. Link's the oldest of 4 and has 3 younger sisters who all love him a lot. He's close with all of them, but especially the youngest, Avalina, who he's sort of taken under his wing. Link is very fond of music and pretty skilled with his ocarina, something he picked up from his dad (who taught him everything he knows.) The guys never been the most comfortable with words, he has a mild stutter, but his music speaks where he struggles to. It's something he would have loved to pursue further but since his dad passed, he's felt responsible for his ma and sisters and had been working really long hours to do his best making sure they're taken care of.

Things changed for him as word started spreading about rising monster attacks through the kingdom. Links village was so remote and he was so caught up in day to day life he didn't pay the rumors much mind, just continued working himself thin and stealing away to the forest outside the village occasionally for solitude and a few moments to lose himself in his music and clear his head. He probably should have been paying more attention though because one night, deep in the forest, alone, and where no one could hear him scream he was attacked by moblins. As he was lying on the brink of death, Farore intervened. She's the most impulsive of her sisters, and as goddess of the forests, life and winds she had taken notice of Link, his gentle soul and appreciation of her work. She couldn't stand the thought of him being lost so young and breathed life back into him. It came at a cost though, Links hylian body couldn't handle such direct contact from the goddess and when he came to,, he didn't recognize what he'd become as an amalgamation of the goddesses power. Deer features from forest life, wings that could master the winds, his own face and hands intact to keep the ability to play, and the mark of the goddess seared onto his forehead so anyone could see she'd claimed him as her own.

Link couldn't stand the thought of his loved ones seeing him alive this way and figured they were better off assuming he'd passed so they could move on. Ashamed of what he had become, he resigned himself to his fate of being tied to the forest, another one of the lost woods' enchanted creatures.

Zelda's plight is a bit different. Her parents both passed when she was young and the kingdom is waiting for her to come of age to be queen. She's done her best to prepare for the role, learning all she can from within her palace under strict supervision. She could tell though that her advisors, regents, and the kingdom at large viewed her as young and weak. With word of growing unrest in the kingdom and rumors about the return of an ancient evil, she knew she needed to establish herself before her position and Hyrule as a whole crumbled. She prayed endlessly to her patron goddess, and eventually her pleas for blessing, strength and wisdom were granted but not in the way she was hoping. After much consideration, knowing it would come at a steep cost, the goddess of wisdom and waters gave in and began to give the princess an abundance of her power.

Like Link though, Zelda got more than she asked for; she began to notice more and more changes, shortness of breath and thirst giving way to scales and gills. With growing panic she started to realize if she didn't act fast, if too many caught on to what was happening to her, everything she had worked for to try to establish herself and gain her castle and kingdoms trust would be for nothing.

These were such good ideas omg 👀👀👀I love the idea of a siren who, instead of luring victims with a typical song of temptation and promises, sings the most melancholy cry that draws in people feeling extremely protective over him. They find he's just as sweet as his voice leads them to believe (but watch out!) I was cracking up over the whole concept of Merfuuta, and thought this would be perfect seeing as axlotls are a type of salamander hehe. He's grumpy because no phone underwater >:(

Went and saw The Little Mermaid today. Let me tell you I was ready to cry several times - and I never cry. I just loved it. I never thought I could ever love a real life Disney movie but this one works so well. Halle Bailey is amazing. She is so incredible.

A few changes (and songs) aside, the movie stayed very close to the animated version. I sat there, silently singing "Part Of Your World" and feeling like a child again. May kids see this movie and fall in love with Halle Bailey's Ariel.

i wish the people in charge of disney (and more companies probably) would just get an office job or do other business stuff and let the artists who want to freely express themselves & their art shine through. if the executives are only worried about sales & money they should just go work in another business idk, if you're only creating things out of a desire for money then nothing is gonna come out as good as something with real passion. and the artists who do have that passion are often pushed to the side or have their ideas dimmed down as to not take too many "risks"

-daisuke is indeed initially from the midnight zone, or the deepest and darkest part of the sea. the exact 'fish' part of him is identifiable as a whalefish, which has all sorts of fun facts attached like the way its red looks black to other fish who can't pick up on red light, and therefore blends in with the darkness, or its extreme motion sensitivity, or the way it fooled scientists for years and years over its true species/identity thanks to dimorphism, or the fact it gorges itself as a juvenile, then gives up its guts and fuses its mouth shut as an adult so it can try to find a mate, normal awesome deep sea horror stuff!!

-daisuke's curiosity and general deep-sea loneliness led to him wondering about the surface above water. in general, he had never moved beyond ~1000 feet from the ~5000 foot zone that he lived in, which is really practically nothing, not even close to the surface. human things still fall even into his layer, though--- objects like silverware and broken cameras, cans and clothes that end up, if not outright pulverized or rusted, completely alien and unrecognizable from their original states. daisuke readily collected these to keep and study or admire for himself, until his curiosity grew too great and he started to seek out ~the witch.~

-enter dark, who is said sea witch. he makes daisuke a deal: the boy's heart (harmless really!! you won't die!!!) for legs and the ability to explore the surface. daisuke inevitably accepts, only the true nature of the deal was to coerce them to merge, in order for dark to obtain his own heart; both the fact that daisuke would only be able to walk on land in dark's form and the fact that dark was already prior a criminal in the human world had been cunningly omitted on dark's part.

-toooooo late now for any regrets. daisuke's curiosity is still insatiable and dark enjoys being an extremely laissez-faire surface-guide when he's not stealing or sleeping. unlike canon where the transformations are controlled by daisuke's feelings of love and his heartbeat, in this case it's whenever his skin gets wet. the transformation too is still painful and uncomfortable; whether it's back or forth from dark to daisuke or daisuke to dark, it always feels like his legs (or fins and tail) are being ripped apart or ran through jagged glass.

-dark and daisuke truly are merging and blending into each other. daisuke gets worse; he's already picked up on dark's criminal techniques and methods (such as lockpicking, hacking, etc,) inadvertently memorizing them thanks to their shared senses and the necessity of running. dark gets better; he's gradually become less apathetically cruel and domineering, but the two still have a little ways to go between themselves.

I was falling asleep because it's 4:30 in the morning but then a friend that I have a mild crush on texted me and asked what horror movies corresponds to which areas at camp, and clearly Climbing Wall is Vertigo, Aquatics is Jaws and Ecology-Conservation is The Birds, (these were her assignments) but she wanted to know whether Blair Witch fit Scoutcraft (basic scouting skills) or Handicraft (arts and crafts) more, and I said Handicraft because of the figurine things, then she asked what Scoutcraft would be, and full disclosure, I like horror movies but I don't watch a lot of them. I'm picky. Because I don't like gore or zombies and I have anxiety so it's difficult. Okay. So I literally Googled "outdoor horror movies" and tried to find one that I recognized, and thankfully Midsommar was on that list and I've seen and enjoyed Midsommar, so that's what I said. The only other horror movies I can remember seeing are Cabin in the Woods (masterpiece but doesn't fit) and one I can't remember the name of but it's about a video game and has Frankie Muniz and the guy that played Mary Lightly in Psych. And tbh, most of my horror movies knowledge comes from parody episodes of Psych. Especially the Hitchcock episode. I only knew Vertigo because of Psych. This post was a whole lot of inconsequential nonsense, but I get a pass because it's 4:30am and I'm talking to a cool girl.
