I ran and turned into another street
It would have been interesting to peep into nike air max thea atomic pink that little pondering head and to see the mixture there of quite childish images and fancies with serious ideas and notions gained from experience of life (for Katya really had lived), and at the same time with ideas of which she had no real knowledge or experience, abstract theories she had got out of books, though she probably mistook them for generalizations gained by her own experience. “My queen,” growled Skahaz mo Kandaq, of the shaven head. thanksgiving blessings.
I want to preface this saying that this week, I completely lost it.
I feel comfortable being honest. For all intents and purposes, this blog is essentially my personal tumblr when it comes to venting/sharing about my day/reblogging my likes. Maybe this is a mistake because sometimes I mesh too close with my characters and it can be hard to draw a line but I’m horrible at keeping up with any blogs except my roleplay ones so..that’s why you see so many random posts that are promptly deleted before I clog up the dash.
But yeah. This week I lost it. I learned I was on the verge of losing something very near and dear to my heart, I got in an argument with a person I care about very much, I lost my job right before the holidays, and my Granny, my second mom, was placed in the hospital for the second time this month. In the span of..two-three days. I mean, when it rains..it pours, right?
I’m laying in bed and wondering what the fuck do I do. I’m not shy in enclosing the information that I do suffer from an anxiety disorder and moderate depression. I’m on medication for it and I think I’ve got a better handle on it than I used to but God, I had to go on my mom’s Xanax this week because I just laid in bed and bawled my eyes out, wondering where the fuck do I go from here? I didn’t want to get up. I didn’t want to talk to anybody. I’m lucky enough that I have friends who push past all that and continue to get me to talk, even when I give them one word answers or snap at them but I just felt..lost. And numb. And so, so sad. I felt like everything was piling up on me and I didn’t know how much more I could handle.
I hadn’t told anyone in the group, apart from a few people, what was going on with me because I hadn’t wanted to seem as if I was seeking attention. Isn’t that silly, that we’ve been conditioned to feel that we’re “attention seekers” when we’re just expressing our feelings? But I posted a post explaining my lack of activity and the feedback I got from it flooded me. I sat there, crying again, but for a completely different reason. People cared. People cared enough to pray for my family and me, people cared enough to take the time and message me, people cared to even check up on me the next day. It blew my mind and it warmed my heart and I’m not exaggerating, it made me feel like if I just..got up and attempted to move forward, things would be okay.
My Granny’s home now. Tired and weak, but home and she got to spend Thanksgiving at home with us. I have a few job interviews that I’m praying I’ll get so I don’t have to spend another Christmas selling all my jewelry to buy my mom exactly two Christmas gifts. And even though some things in the group are hazy and I might feel lost and stuck and nervous about my future here..I’m gonna be okay. Because of the people in here, constantly acting as my second family.
I’d like to share my appreciation for a few people.
Katie @elizajanetc - You’re my best friend here. Truly. I cannot put into words how thankful I am for you. The past few nights, you just..answering me and encouraging me and telling me you were listening made me so grateful to know you even if I was horrible and couldn’t express it. You are always there for me. No matter what kind of mood I’m in, and you’re the most loyal and trustworthy person I’ve met in all my years of roleplaying. Sometimes I feel like I take too much from you but that’s just you, you’re just so generous and kind and giving. And aside from the pillar of strength you are for me, you’re also hilarious. And fair. And an incredible writer and an even more incredible friend and you are constantly showing me your appreciation. I can only hope I show even half of that back to you because I would be so lost without you. You’ve brought so much to my life. Your struggles are my struggles, your joy is my joy, your pain is my pain. Thank you for indulging my Troian gushing, thank you for introducing me to The 100 and putting up with my caps lock reactions, and thank you for giving me a friendship both ic and ooc that’s gonna stay with me forever.
Sam @theflashgrant It’s funny because there’s so much love and appreciation for you in my heart but I feel like nothing I say can ever be good enough to thank you for what you’ve done for me. You’re the longest ship partner I’ve had, you’re essentially a real life relationship for me and we’ve truly been through it all. When I try and think back to a time without you in my world, I go blank because you’re a constant for me whether that be through a ship or through a friendship. We have a special friendship that no matter what, we know we’re going to be okay and we’re going to have each others backs. Forever. “Id go down swinging for you.” And I really would. I wanted to do an appreciation post for Treegan, and I probably will, but I’m going to bawl the entire time writing it because they’re such an incredibly important ship and I don’t care what anyone else thinks - they were fucking epic and that is large in thanks to you. Thank you for always taking a chance on me, thank you for never failing to be the first to share with me Keegan news, and thank you for never truly leaving. You are so special to me.
Katie @dianna--elise I can’t put into words how much you’ve done for me either. Apparently I can wax on about everything but how much love and appreciation I have for people because honestly, no words ever seem good enough. You’re an incredibly strong woman. And you have a strong personality. You don’t take peoples shit and you stand by your beliefs, and that’s so admirable to me. I may not always understand or share your opinions but at least I know that when you speak, it’s coming from the heart. Passion is the most attractive quality in a person to me which is probably why sometimes we clash so hard..but we also mesh so great. I really believe you’re gonna save somebody some day, because you’ve already done your fair share in saving me. Thank you for the endless TV rewatches, thank you for letting me call you ridiculous nicknames, and thank you for being the kind of person who never fails to reach out.
Bella @ole-cole We’ve only known each other nine months and we already feel comfortable enough to call each other out on our bullshit. I think that’s great, even if it can be exhausting sometimes (cause let’s be honest..we both deal with a lot of bullshit, mostly from me). I had no idea when I met you that I’d enter such a great ship with you and that’s the beauty of our friendship - completely organic, a happy accident in the making. You have listened to the weirdest things come out of my mouth..or well, from my keyboard to your messenger and you have always been there to be a listening ear for me. You’re my precious little Brit and I love confusing you with my American ways. You’re so talented, in every way, from your drawings to your way with words, and to your photographs. You’ve got such beauty in you. Thank you for the daily blonde!Cole pictures that never fail to brighten my day, thank you for always sending me links to things you know will make me smile, and thank you for not giving up on me. Seriously.
Kris10 @itscaitylotz Ahh. My phoenix. My spitfire. My little hellion. You’re so fucking feisty and in you, I have found a soul sister. We are just always on the same wavelength and even in our writing, we seem to be naturally drawn towards the same things. You’re like a bolder, more determined, slightly sassier version of me and I admire and look up to you so much. You really go after the things you want and you have a take no prisoners attitude that I need to adapt because you’re living your best life right now. And you’re so sweet. And kind. And..comforting, that’s the best word I can use to describe you. Your pep talks even rival mine and you always refuse to let me lay down and accept defeat. With you in my life, I know I always have my own cheerleader and I hope I’m that same person for you. Thanks for all the trouble Troian and Caity get into, thank you for always messaging me back paragraphs when I need a little pick me up, and thank you for giving me a new girl crush once I fell in love with your Caity.
Christinanana @revival-gomez I miss you so much. Come back to Florida. Please? I didn’t see you enough while you were here, and now I’m really regretting all the times I could’ve driven up. Meeting you that one day was so much fun and God, you’re so fucking cute in person! I could’ve just hugged you all day. You’re hilarious and I love our IMs where we just send grumpy faces at each other and basically have the most insane conversations because that’s just how we communicate. We’ve known each other for so long now that there’s a comfort and ease with each other and I really hope that never goes away because I consider you one of my closest friends here. Thank you for making sure I was still breathing once Troian walked by me, thank you for always offering to have Disney dates with me, and thank you for never failing to remind me I don’t know what a McChicken is.
Caiti @srslycandi We haven’t talked in a while but that doesn’t really worry me because I know that you’re there, and you know that I’m here. You’re still a sweet girl, always doing her best to make everybody feel included and loved and special and that makes you the most special in itself. I love you and I just want the best for you, always.
Bonnie @hyfdanielle I’m genuinely so happy we’ve been talking more. Katie always tells me how wonderful you are, and having the opportunity to write with you and create a beautiful friendship here with you has been the best. You’re really talented, and so creative and kind. I mean it, you’re just really easy going and you’re always making the effort to make people you talk with feel special and important. I can’t wait to get to know you better too.
Brandy @melissabenoistiisms God, you’re literally Melissa ooc-wise too, it’s amazing. You’re always messaging me with the cutest things to say and making my day. I love that we made a great brotp come to life with our combined efforts and that it’s all the more special with our little touches. I appreciate everything you do for me, and I love seeing BECAW! It makes me giggle, because you’re so darn cute.
Lindsay @somadelaime You’re always willing to plot and you bring life and heart to the Riverdale cast here. Thanks for everything you do. Ina @so-ashleighmrr Ina, God, you’re the fucking best. Always willing to talk, always willing to listen, and being the biggest Lili and SH fangirl that just boosts my ego way too much. I adore you! Kate @s--amell I know we haven’t really talked much, but you reached out to me that one day and helped me so much. Thank you and I hope to plot/write with you soon. Pedro @ffstaron My cutie pie. Always making me blush with your sweet words and flirty ways. You’re a sweetie and yep, I still listen to that playlist you made me. It’s my favorite. I adore our KJ/Lili brotp because KJ is just as adorable and funny as you. Thank you for always being so damn precious. Charlie @angelkarliekloss You never fail to include me in things and you always act like even if we go days without speaking, you still consider me important. It means so much and I have loved all your characters here. Thank you so much for always being so kind and fun to talk to. Kim @xosharnabur You’re always fair and generous in asks, and I love your Sharna. You really should too, she’s great and I promise that things will eventually turn around for you. Just keep doing what you’re doing. JJ @alycia-jdc We’ve never really talked OOC but I adore you. Your Alycia is so great, as is your Darren. You’ve got a way of really connecting with people and just having the most fun conversations. Keep up the great work. Nikki @hcurly You are never allowed to leave because I’d miss you so much. Genuinely the sweetest person I know and never fails to leave a smile on my face with your kind heart. I adore you too, and I hope you never forget that. Beth @ffszefron We haven’t talked in so long but my love for your writing and characterization hasn’t wavered. You’re so talented and creative and special and I love interacting with you whenever I can. Even when you encourage me to watch your legit insane brothers. Kenna @tylrsgn Thank you for always saying kind words when I’m having a bad day and even in the past, doing manips and whatever else you could to help me. Your characters are all so different too and I think you’re very brave and bold. Keri @vcncssa Oh my God, your graphic skills amaze me. I think you’re so interesting and inspired and I love both your girls, they’re always so much fun to talk to and you’re a delight in real life. B @so-taylorswift Thank you for reviving my love for Taylor and letting me tag her in literally every T-Swift thing I can find. I get to release my inner fangirl and you’re honestly the best and most tolerable Taylor we’ve had in a while. Jaq @sonataliadyer Remember when you called me a Queen? Nah, that’s still and always will be you. You’re truly a master at writing and plots and I aspire to be like that. I always feel EVERYTHING with your characters. That’s true talent and you’re a genius. Minnie @so-saoirse I love you, I love you, I love you, you are so fucking precious and such a gem of a human being. You NEVER fail to make me happy on the dash and you should be universally loved by everyone because you’re that amazing. Thank you for everything you do for me. @heylizzo I am so sorry I don’t know your OOC name or that it slipped my mind (I am basically a human Dory) but you’re always reaching out to me in times of need and reminding me there’s good people left in this world. Plus, Lizzie is a fucking boss which makes me believe you are too. You’re amazing. Rebecca @wtftaissa I love your name. ;) You’re always a lot of fun to write with too and random note, I love that you literally thank everybody who sends you anons or questions for memes. It’s so cute. Mar @ashleybenzoxoxo We haven’t talked in a while, and I miss writing with you but I hope your life’s going good. We always have such great Troiley interactions! Ally @ffsdylan Um, I love you to the moon and back. God, where have you been all my life? Dylan/Lili is the brotp I never knew I needed and you’re so hilarious and warm yourself. I swear, you must ghost write or predict real life Dylan’s life because you’re so great at playing him. I’m mad at you for making me want to hug him all the time but..you’re an awesome friend and I’m very lucky to know you. Megan @sosebastianstan You’re great and we should definitely talk more. Thanks for always being a sweetheart when we do. @witneycarson I’m sorry, I can’t remember your OOC name either (I’m the worst) but you’re always fun and nice to talk to and thank you for always being up for plots, no matter what character I have! @nina--dobrev and @theeshaymitchell, two of the cutest shipping partners here. I loved Dobsley and I love how friendly and sweet you two are together and apart. Please come around more. Kelso @sokoritellymomoa Thank you for always being willing to write and talk to, you’re great. :)
Last but certainly not least; the admins.
Tini, you’ve created a safe haven and your work is tireless and endless and vastly appreciated, especially by me. This is my safe place. You’re incredible and I think you’re gonna go so far in life. @vanessabutterfly-hudgens Krista, you work really hard too and you strive to make things as fair and fun as possible. I appreciate your effort and thank you for always being willing to talk to me about anything. @marg-robbie Holli @itsmekatiecassidy I’ve really appreciated our talks lately and how understanding and generous you are. I hope everything is going okay for you as well and I’m praying for your family too. Thanks for always being a bright spot on the dash and making me laugh. Bellie @fckwilla I’m really happy we’re interacting more and more again and I have a feeling our characters are gonna be in for a wild ride together. Sorry for continually changing my hiatus status and driving you to probably pull out your hair. ;)
I finished this all before midnight so I can successfully say -
Happy Thanksgiving.

a belvafore drabble (of sorts)
“So…”
Damon’s hands are tucked in his pockets.
“Yeah.”
Caroline’s thumb rests on her bottom lip as one arm rests on the folded one.
“You think it’ll just… stay like that?”
“Oh, God, I hope so.”
“Same.” After a beat, he adds, “’cause I got a meeting at five.”
She shoots him a panicked look. He radiates total nonchalance. He glances at her like she’s got crazy eyes… which she probably does.
“You can’t just leave me alone with it!” she hisses.
“I have no choice?” He waves her off. “You’ll be fine. Bon said she’ll be back by five-thirty.”
“Yeah, okay, but, consider this—“ she sneaks a look “—what if she’s not?”
Damon grips both her shoulders suddenly and stares her straight in the eyes. She’d be unnerved if her thoughts would stay still for a millisecond.
“You are, by far, the scariest person I have ever known.” She knows he’s exaggerating—a little—but it alleviates some fear. “You can handle this.”
She bites her lip as her eyes dart away from his, and, like that, he’s walking to the kitchen. Sharing the same breathing space with it makes her skin crawl.
“You got any whiskey?” he calls from her kitchen.
She nods at him, but when she turns back, she’s staring into a red baby face, frozen in brief silence, until its contorted face releases a blood-curdling cry.
Likewise, an angry and petrified Caroline shrieks, “Damon!”
>>><<<
“All right, Chubby Bunny, let’s watch some TV while Auntie Caro—“
“Don’t call me that!” a frazzled holler erupts from Caroline’s room. Damon gives the baby a deadpanned look as she drools over her own little fingers.
“She is such a diva,” he informs her. As if she doesn’t already know.
The little bundle stopped crying once Caroline passed her squirming body to Damon. This wasn’t his first rodeo, though it has been a while since a child has been shoved into his care. His foster brothers and sisters had been decent enough practice. When Caroline made a comment about his amiable response to the child, he shrugged and said he didn’t want to go to juvie for killing a kid.
“Let’s watch this funny dude, huh,” he murmurs to the child sprawled on his chest as Bob Ross appears on the screen. “He’s sure to put you to sleep.”
What an understatement. Not long after, the little butter ball is fast asleep, and Damon barely lifts a finger to mute the TV.
His phone buzzes next to him, and he swiftly answers without a professional, “Good afternoon, this is Damon.” He glances down at the sleeper, but she’s out like a light.
“Hi, this is Bonnie Bennett from Boston Memorial,” his girlfriend replies with the same professionalism. Whenever she calls from the hospital, she adheres her end of the conversation to a medically-based script—just in case.
Damon grins immediately. He, on the other hand, likes to play the how-can-I-embarrass-slash-make-Bonnie-break-character game.
So far, he’s the reigning champion.
“Oh, is it?”
“Correct. This is a follow-up call for a former patient,” she responds, unaffected by what she knows is his shit-starting tone. She follows protocol by inquiring, “Is Alice Gallagher available?”
“I can’t say she is,” Damon plays along.
“And may I ask who I’m speaking with?”
“Oh, only the sexiest boyfriend you’ll ever have,” he doesn’t skip a beat.
Neither does she.
“So, you’re the father…?”
Damon’s smirk flattens, and it’s almost like Alice knows she’s upset because she’s fussing a little in her sleep. Her silence feels smug.
“Touché,” he replies quietly. “Or, should I say, douché?”
“Great,” she maintains her chipper persona. “So, tell me, how is she doing?”
“Well…” He sighs, hoping the rise and fall of his chest won’t disrupt little Alice’s sleep. “There was a big fuss in the beginning… Tons of crying, so much screaming… but eventually, I went with what I knew, and figured a shot of peach Schnapps would do the trick.”
Without fail, Bonnie loses the game.
“Damon!” she demands in a low hiss, and Damon tries to control his shaking laughter. “I’m talking about Alice!”
“So am I?” he hiccups out.
“Damon Whitmore,” her disbelief heightens her shrill hiss, and he’s genuinely blessed by her self-control that calls him by his chosen name, “Please tell me you are joking.”
“Sure.” He stops breathing for a second as Alice expels a big sigh. “Everything’s fine,” he assures her. “I know how to keep a child from dying.”
“Debatable.” Professional Bonnie is long gone. “Honestly, how is she?”
“She’s sleeping.”
“You did that?”
“No, the Schnapps did.”
She scoffs. “Did you feed her?”
“Possibly.”
“Changed her?”
“Maybe.”
“What’s Caroline been up to? Is she okay?”
“She’s doing work in her room.” Caroline said it’s payback for leaving her with Alice until Bonnie gets home. “Seriously, babe, everything is Gucci.”
“All right, all right. I should be home by five-thirty.”
“Don’t sweat it.”
She hums her disbelief before lowly saying, “I love you.”
“Wow, these follow-up calls are wildly inappropriate,” Damon comments, “I think I need to talk to one of your sup—‘
Dial tone shuts him up.
>>><<<
“Are you sure you have to go?”
Caroline watches Damon adjust his tie in the mirror by the front door. Honestly, Bonnie has gladly given him a portion of her closet even though he hardly stays over, and his apartment is infinitely better. He looks at her through the reflection.
“Bonnie will be here.”
“When Bonnie says five-thirty, she isn’t accounting for the time it takes her to sneak over to the Brazilian bakery on 82nd and stuff her bag with goodies.”
Caroline lowkey feels better ratting Bonnie out. But it’s fleeting as Damon chuckles.
“Yeah, who does she think she’s kidding?”
Of course he’d be amused, that smitten, I-don’t-believe-in-love idiot. Caroline rolls her eyes with what can only be described as a huffy pout.
“It’s only an hour, tops,” Damon reassures again. “You’ll be fine. I did all the heavy lifting.” He did feed, bathe, and rock her to sleep. “She should be fine.”
“But what if she isn’t.” What if she isn’t?
“You’re a warrior, Forbes.” He smooths a lock of hair back into place. “You can handle a little worm.”
“She’s not a worm,” Caroline defends. He shoots her a look.
“Oh, so you like her now?”
“Just go!”
She pushes him, and he laughs as she shuts the door behind him. She listens. No crying. No fussing. She lets out a sigh and listens again. Nothing. Thank God. This is going to be a long hour. This is just like the Ms. Cuddles thing all over again. Christ. At least Stefan had been there.
Speaking of which…
“…what’s wrong?”
One of Stefan’s cousins is having a destination wedding in Greece, and while he asked her to join him, she couldn’t get time off. Secretly, though, she could have pushed for it, but meeting the immediate Salvatores met her quota for now.
“Oh, shit.” She’s usually not forgetful. It’s probably night there. She covers her eyes. “I didn’t wake you, did I?”
“Oh, you know I never sleep.” The joke loosens her tense shoulders, and it’s almost like when he’s there rubbing her back whenever she’s worrying over something. “Is everything okay? How are you?”
“I’m…” She listens again. “I’m babysitting.”
The line is so quiet, she’s afraid the call dropped. Then a very concerned Stefan whispers, “What the fuck?”
She tries not to laugh as she leans back against the wall and nods, despite his presence in a different continent.
“Yeah,” she breathes, “Bonnie promised a friend to babysit, but she was on call, and Damon—“
“Damon was involved with you and a baby?”
“Keep your voice down!”
“The baby can’t possibly hear me, Care.”
“You don’t know that!”
He laughs, but at least he keeps it low…er. Caroline listens over the sound of his voice. “Okay then, how did Team Daroline hold up against a baby?”
“What did you just call us?”
“Bonnie used it once,” he explains offhandedly.
“Well, for your information, Damon is actually very knowledgeable about children,” Caroline confides. “He basically took care of her all by himself.”
“A man of many hats.”
“And secrets.”
“Well, what is she up to now?”
Caroline frowns. She doesn’t want to step on any loose floorboards and unleash the fury of little Alice, but she is also curious. She tiptoes her away, slowly and slightly dramatically, into her bedroom, and sees the baby awake and wriggling. Caroline ducks out of sight.
“Oh, shit, she’s awake.”
“Caroline,” Stefan laughs, “it’s okay. She’s not crying.”
“Not yet!”
“She’ll sense your anxiety.” Caroline freezes. “I mean, I don’t know if that scientifically proven, but in my experience—“
“I wish you were here.” The vulnerable confession comes out suddenly, and she tries to cover the stretching silence with, “to take care of her.”
“Yeah, I know.” His own I-miss-you-too message. Switching gears, he suggests, “Put me on speaker and pick her up.”
“Absolutely not.”
“Be the confident Caroline who demands triple shot lattes and still strikes fear in former intern’s hearts.” She smiles a little and puts him on speaker. “Be the fearless Caroline who destroys the patriarchy with every chance she can and stands up for those closest to her if someone even looks at them funny.”
Before she knows it, Alice is in her arms, leaning against her chest comfortably. She smiles down at the drooling kid and sort of pets her head, like she’s seen other women do.
“You did it, didn’t you?”
“I did,” she says one of those high-pitched, I’m-talking-to-a-baby voice. “Isn’t that right, Ally?”
“Her name is Ally?”
“Alice, but ya know, she needs a nickname,” Caroline says as if its obvious. She bounces around her room with not-crying-nor-hollering child. “She’s… cute.”
“She’s a baby.”
“You’re a baby.”
“Am I interrupting something?”
Caroline twirls to see Bonnie in the doorway, and she immediately transfers Alice into her roommate’s arms.
“Thank you so much for coming home, it’s been a pleasure, bye!” Caroline ushers Bonnie and Alice out of the room, shuts her door, and dives to take her phone off speaker.
“You handed her over, didn’t you?”
“I did,” Caroline confirms, “but I also held a baby without dying.”
“Look at you,” she hears the grin in his voice. “So, since the crisis has been averted… can I go to sleep now?”
“I don’t know, can you?”
“Caroline,” he groans, and she sighs. Happily. “May I go to sleep now?”
“You may. Sweet dreams.”
“Only ‘cause I’ll be dreaming of you.” He gets sappy to get on her nerves, and she smiles freely knowing he can’t see her.
“Stop being gross and go to sleep.”
“Yes ma’am.” After a noisy yawn, he says, “Bye, Care, I love you.”
She smiles again, hating the way he’s destroyed every wall she’s ever put up, but also not hating it at all. “I love you, too.”
“I love you, too,” Bonnie echoes from right outside the door. Caroline throws it open and glares at her roommate. “Don’t look at me like that! It was Alice’s idea to eavesdrop.”
The baby gurgles and smiles at Caroline, and the tense blonde manages to crack a teensy smile.
All right, all right, she's kinda cute.
Gabi: CAAAASSSSSSSSSSS. Listen, I have wanted a Daroline Babysitting Drabble since like chapter friggin’ five or something. Someone asked me about Stefan and Caroline taking care of a baby and I was like, “Yes, yes, good, but I RAISE YOU: DAMON AND CAROLINE TAKING CARE OF A BABY” - AND NOW IT EXIIIISTSSSS! And it’s so fluffy and hilarious and lovely and you nailed every character and I’m just so, so happy this exists. I adooooored the Bamon phone call and the little game they play - it’s so childish and playful and them. I also loved that you made Damon unexpectedly good with kids, since my instinct was pretty much the exact same with him. He just has this easy no bullshit vibe about him that kids respond really well to. Caroline was a total skittish cat about it and I fucking died, she’s a mess. Kol really did scar her. Loved the friendship beats with Damon and loooooved that she called Stefan and snuck in those little vulnerable moments that make them them. I always love how you write fluff because you opt for funny/earnest over saccharine, which is what I like to do too, and it makes everything feel so much more realistic. These are friends and girlfriends and boyfriends but they all work because they get each other and tease each other and support each other and crack each other up, and this drabble just captured that so, so wonderfully. I’m like so honored that you took the time to write it <3 AND YESSS, douché reference! Oh man, there are so many things to love about this, but I’m going to stop rambling and depriving the people of this glorious little gem. You nailed it and I’m so happy. Thanks so much for writing and sharing thisssss. Y’all, please give this and @lightninginmyeyes the love they deserve for this delight of a drabble.

@derektheler: Baby Daddy has officially been cancelled. Had the time of my life working with this amazing cast and crew. Thanks for watching, it's been fun
@tahj_mowry: It's true. This is the end. But what an amazing run we had. 100 episodes and a shiny ass people choice award thanks to our amazing fans! And damn do we have the best fans in the world! The past 6 seasons have truly been nothing short of amazing. I will miss these beautiful people more than I can express into words. They are my family. Forever! Seeing the love from the fans has been so overwhelming and I appreciate each and every one of you more than you know. You are all why I do what I do and man is it a blessing that I get to do what I do it everyday. Comedy changes lives. Laughter mends hurting hearts. And I believe that's exactly what #babydaddy did. I hope each and everyone of you guys enjoyed this show as much as we all loved making it. Tucker Dobbs and the Wheelers will forever live on! I am so honored to have been able to have been apart of something so magical. Thank you. (Ps. Point all your attention to the best comedic partner a guy could ask for @melissapeterman lurking in the darkness 🤣)
@melissapeterman: When you are lucky enough to do what you love, it's wonderful. When you are blessed enough to do what you love with people you love, it's magic. I am sad to confirm that It's a wrap on Baby Daddy. I am grateful to everyone who was part of our family. It has been a wonderful ride with the most incredible group of people I have had the honor to work with. You are forever my family. I want to Thank @daniel.berendsen for leading this cast & crew with grace, integrity and kindness and for creating Bonnie Wheeler, I have loved every crazy, sweet, inappropriate, fearless & Chardonnay soaked moment of her. You are an incredible writer, boss and friend. And to the fans, Thank you for being so loyal and supportive, we got to 100 episodes because of you all. We appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for watching, for your kind words, for all the fun. Enjoy the last 2 episodes. I wish this was more articulate or well done but I'm still processing the news & clearly I'm better with a script....and lighting...and hair & makeup...and props....and wardrobe...and a director.... and craft services...and an Eva.....and a Kickass Amazing studio audience who made Friday nights my favorite night of the week....and a Steeeeeve ....and a Lem....and each and every person who has made the last 5yrs so special.#itwasmagic
@chelseakane: It's with a heavy heart that I type this post and confirm that Baby Daddy's next two episodes will be our last. We got the news last night that we will not be coming back for another season and as surreal as it seems right now, I can't help but feel beyond grateful for the incredible ride we've been on for the last five years. Thank you all for being a part of it. Playing Riley Perrin was the greatest gift of my life. Creating her slowly and polishing her cracked and crazy edges over the last six seasons was an honor and I will never be able to properly thank @daniel.berendsen for allowing me to bring her to life. I will miss her terribly and my heart aches knowing I won't get to flop onto that yellow couch every morning and be greeted by the smiling faces and unwavering acceptance of my second family. We are all Wheelers forever. Much like the pilot episode, this little show sort of fell into my lap and "it's amazing how the unexpected can take your life and change direction." Goodbye, Baby Daddy...
@chelseakane: Thank you guys for the outpouring of love and all these incredible comments. You've added so much sunshine to my day. I adore you.
@sura_kayleigh: It's been such an exciting experience for our girls to grow with the show, from the first day meeting our TV family to the last day of filming together. We're going to miss @babydaddytv cast and crew very much and couldn't be more thankful for the good times and great memories. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Gosh, I don’t think I’ve ever felt so much heartache in a while knowing that one of my fave shows isn’t returning. This show was another one that helped me so much, gave me a good laugh every time when I needed it. The humor, the cast, everything, all the little things throughout the series. I’m really gonna miss Ben and Danny, and Danny and Riley, and Tucker and Bonnie, Bonnie and her sons, and ofc lil Emma. Ugh, I seriously can’t believe this show got cancelled. WTF FREEFORM?! 😡 Excuse me while I go and cry my eyes out that this amazing show is gonna be over in like two weeks.

Artist Interview With Monique Sherrell Brown
1. Where are we talking from today? A. Queens, New York. Born & raised. 2. What would you like to accomplish in 2019? A. I’d like to develop a few of my songs that have been sitting on the shelf. But I have to admit I’m very blessed with this year's accomplishments. I won a 2019 LDM Award for “Wishing You The Best,” & the music video has been picked up by some channels and film festivals. 3. What is your take on politics? A. I don’t speak politics :) 4. Where did you get your artist's name from? A. My mom. God bless her soul. I decided to keep in my middle name because it’s a little less common. 5. Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make? A. I’ve always had a passion for music. Every time I went to a concert I always wanted to be on stage. So when I got my funding, I decided to invest in my passion. I love telling a story and connecting with the audience. 6. Was there ever a time when you thought about doing something else? If you weren’t a musician today, what could you see yourself doing? A. A novelist. I love creating stories and letting the world know. 7. What has been the biggest surprise so far about making music your career? What has been an unexpected or welcome challenge to it all? A. Working with creative folks is tough. It’s not like a normal 9-5 job. You have to get the best out of a person artistically and need to make sure they are in their comfort zone. You also have to love it. You may not make money off it or get notoriety right away or ever, so be sure you’re in it for the right reasons. 8. What was it like putting together your EP? A. A lot of work, patience, and passion. It took several months to complete and I had my doubts, but fortunately, I had the right support system. The result was well worth it! 9. Who are some of your favorite artists or rather, what musicians have continued to inspire you and your music? Who would you still love to work with in the future? A. I love Beth Hart, Prince, Stephanie Mills, Buddy Guy, Chaka Khan, Chris Cornell, Nirvana, Bonnie Raitt. My tastes vary & so do my genres. I would love the opportunity to work with Bonnie Raitt, Beth Hart & Buddy Guy. 10. What has it been like keeping up with your social media accounts and all of the different platforms? Is it hard to stay up to date on it all? What would you say is your favorite way to connect with your fans now? A. It’s tough to keep up when you have a lot going on. I try to thank & promote everyone who supports my music. Sometimes it’ll take me a day or two to catch up, but I usually get there. 11. If you were going to be stranded on a deserted island, what musical item would you take with you and why? A. Whiskey (for creative juices). 12. If your music was going to be featured on any TV show that is currently on right now, which would you love it to be on? Or if you prefer, what is a movie that you love that you wish your music was featured in? A. I’d love for my song “Quarter Past” to be featured in the upcoming remake feature “Uptown Saturday Night.” The song has a smooth Harlem Nightclub vibe and I think would fit perfectly 13. At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music? A. I hope they will get the story and maybe dance a little. 14. When you are not making music what else do you enjoy to do? A. Listening to music, watching movies or episodes of Family Guy or The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. 15. Where you @ online? At vigil, friends and family of 19-year-old murdered by ex-boyfriend speak out against domestic violence
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Friends and family gathered Friday night to speak out against domestic violence, hours after a KC teen mom was laid to rest.
Nineteen-year-old Liz Richards went to Joseph Gonsalez’s Kansas City home Saturday to drop off her two-year-old son Jay. The couple had separated but shared custody.
Elizabeth Richards
Jay was later found in the home where his mother was shot and killed. Prosecutors have charged his father with her murder.
Friends and family that gathered at Richards’ former elementary school Friday lit candles and wrote messages on balloons to both Richards and the little boy before releasing them.
“She was such a beautiful, caring young woman and mother,” her cousin Natasha Knies said. “Every memory that I have will be held in my heart as a treasure, growing up with her was a blessing.”
Family described an abusive relationship that Richards had just been able to escape before her death.
“Literally the day before this happened, she posted about how proud she was for leaving and paving a better path for her and her son,” Richards’ cousin Kenna Sharp said. “She was doing so well and so amazing, and the day after she posted that her life was taken. There’s nothing more tragic.”
“We need to figure out a way of stopping such abuse, such domestic violence,” her aunt Bonnie Fansler said. “We need stiffer, harder gun laws. He had just got this gun days before this even occurred.”
Everyone who braved the cold, after spending the afternoon at Richards’ burial, was asked to bring diapers or some sort of donation for little Jay, who is now without both of his parents. Richards’ mom is caring for the little boy while his dad awaits trial.
Prosecutors believe the crime was premeditated. They found a receipt for duct tape on Richards’ body, purchased just one day before. Surveillance video showed Gonsalez was the one who purchased it.

The 10 Best New TV Shows of 2017 (So Far)
If choosing the 10 best new TV shows of 2017 sounds like a difficult task, trust us: It is. Even limiting the options to series that debuted before May 1 left us with any number of worthy near-misses, including the recent Dear White People and American Gods—both of which will surely have a strong showing when we update our list come September. (We also excluded one-off miniseries such as Big Little Lies, though new anthology series, like Feud, were eligible.) As with our ranking of the 20 best TV shows overall, though, the result still features entries for every taste, with oddball comedies (Santa Clarita Diet) and sharp-tongued teen melodramas (Riverdale) alike. The list even offers a glimpse of TV’s future: Unlike our overall ranking, which is dominated by broadcast, cable and premium outlets, streaming services landed six of the 10 slots.
Here are the 10 best new TV shows of 2017 (so far):
10. Detroiters Network: Comedy Central
The key to Detroiters is its sincerity, which shines through almost every episode without any kind of smugness or self-congratulations. Sam Richardson (Veep) and Tim Robinson (Saturday Night Live) genuinely love each other, and their families, and their advertising company, and most of all their city. (It’s Detroit. Detroit, Michigan. That’s where they’re from.) The tone gets dark at times, and Tim and Sam occasionally act petty or vindictive, but there’s almost none of the cynicism and mean-spiritedness so often found in comedy today. When they’re making illicit purchases in a back alley at night with Tim’s sanity-challenged father, they’re not buying drugs, but fireworks. When Sam unintentionally becomes a gigolo, it takes him a while to realize it, and he’s convinced he’s in love with his only client. When they accidentally run over prospective client Jason Sudeikis, it gnaws at them until they inevitably let Sudeikis run them over as penance. Without this sweetness, Detroiters would probably still be funny, but it wouldn’t be as charming or as powerful. Garrett Martin
9. Santa Clarita Diet Network: Netflix
What if one of the couples in Saturday Night Live’s “The Californians” started eating people and they began systematically and quite rationally (logistically speaking) incorporating it into their lives? Well, that’d be the bizarro comedy that is Santa Clarita Diet. Stilted and strange in its delivery of aggressively witty jokes, it’s a series that seemed to escape from a mad scientist’s lab unfinished—but that’s the point. It’s roasting Californian perfection for a delicious bonfire and stars Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant are obviously hungry for more. Jacob Oller
8. The Good Fight Network: CBS All Access
Admit it. You were nervous. I was nervous. We were all worried that there was no way The Good Fight could live up to our expectations. But it has. And then some. Without the confines of network television, showrunners Michelle and Robert King have flourished. Diane’s (Christine Baranski) fall from financial grace was a great catalyst to start the series, re-team her with Lucca (Cush Jumbo) and introduce new series regulars. Plus, the world the Kings have created is so rich, fan favorites including Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston) and Colin Sweeney (Dylan Baker) easily weave in and out of this world. I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: The Good Fight gives good spin-off. Amy Amatangelo
7. Patriot Network: Amazon
What if 007 dealt with his PTSD and the moral ambiguities of being a spy by revealing his deepest inner turmoil (and state secrets) at open-mic nights in Amsterdam? What if Q had trouble requisitioning his apartment with a single chair? And M sent him to work at a piping firm in the Midwest with an extra digit in his social security number? What if the American version of a Bond film replaced the car chases, femme fatales and slick gadgets with the dark humor of the Coen brothers, mixing deep ennui with side-splitting moments of levity? That’s Patriot in a nutshell. The stakes are high—keeping nuclear weapons out of the hands of an Iranian extremist leader—but everything depends on our hero, John Tavner, (Michael Dormer) first navigating the mid-level corporate world of industrial piping. Josh Jackson
6. One Day at a Time Network: Netflix
I can’t remember a time I loved something the way I love the new One Day at a Time. Part of my affection stems from the fact that the show was such a discovery. It arrived January 6 of this year with almost no hype. I write about TV for a living and I barely knew it was premiering. Almost immediately I dismissed the show as yet another ill-advised remake. How wrong I was. The comedy is a pure delight. A throwback to the defining comedies of the 1970s with a modern twist, the show deftly tackles some hot-button issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder, wage inequality and teenage sexuality, amid real conversations about generational differences and Cuban heritage and traditions. Justina Machado (Six Feet Under) is fantastic as the recently separated veteran raising her two adolescent children with the help of her mother Lydia (living legend Rita Moreno) and her landlord Schneider (Todd Grinnell). Moreno gives an amazing speech in the series 12th episode that should easily nab her an Emmy nomination this year. But above all, the show is funny and grounded. Once you start watching, you won’t be able to watch this gem one day at a time. Amy Amatangelo
5. 13 Reasons Why Network: Netflix
Here’s something ironic: One of the 2017 shows that might be the easiest to take for granted could very well be the one about a teenage girl who kills herself because she was taken for granted. Based on author Jay Asher’s young adult bestseller, 13 Reasons Why is about what happens when the bullying, sexting, betrayed friendships, doublespeak conversations, and sheer loneliness of high-school hell get too much for teenager Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford). But Hannah doesn’t go down without naming some names, and her suicide note comes in the form of an audio recording in which she recounts exactly what (and who) led her to fall into this pit of hopelessness. The message is that everyone had a chance to save Hannah from herself, even the adults. 13 Reasons Why is one of the most important TV shows of the season. Whitney Friedlander
4. Riverdale Network:: The CW
This is the way I’ve been selling Riverdale to friends who have not yet wised up and started watching it: it’s Gossip Girl meets Twin Peaks, but with the characters from Archie Comics. That alone should be enough to suck them in, but if they need more convincing, I add that Luke Perry plays Archie’s dad, Molly Ringwald plays Archie’s mom, Skeet Ulrich plays Jughead’s creepy hot dad (who is also the head of the local gang, the Southside Serpents), and for the first third of the season, Archie is boning his music teacher, Ms. Grundy—who, unlike in the comics—where she’s an elderly white-haired lady—goes around wearing heart-eyed sunglasses and picking up teen boys. It’s ridiculous and campy in all the right ways (hey, this is a CW teen drama, after all), but there’s also a compelling murder mystery driving the plot (“Who killed Jason Blossom?” is Riverdale’s “Who killed Laura Palmer?”), with new twists and turns peppered in along the way. Bonnie Stiernberg
3. Feud Network: FX
American Crime Story and Feud have proven that auteur Ryan Murphy is at his best when he has a short, concise story to tell. And so Murphy’s examination of the long-running rift between Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) was more than just an examination of their experience filming Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?: It’s also a condemnation of an industry that abused them and cast them aside and what happens when your self-worth is completely tied to your public persona. We could debate for weeks whether Lange or Sarandon gave the better performance. I say let’s call it a draw, because both women had career highs with this series. Jackie Hoffman had a breakout performance as Crawford’s maid, Mamacita (I would so watch the story re-told from her perspective). Aided by strong performances from Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis, Alfred Molina, Alison Wright and Kiernan Shipka, with just the right amount of camp and Pepsi thrown in, we wanted to be friends with Feud all this time. Amy Amatangelo
2. The Handmaid’s Tale Network: Hulu
With precise compositions and a rich sense of color, The Handmaid’s Tale envisions the intersectional, drawing the interlocking influences of gender, sexuality and status into its portrait of a puritanical dystopia not far from our own: “Blessed are the meek,” Offred (Elisabeth Moss) says in scornful voiceover, referring to the extremists’ empty dictum. “They always left out the part about inheriting the Earth.” Indeed, as she navigates Gilead’s stony euphemisms and loud silences, whether playing Scrabble with the powerful Commander Waterford (Jospeh Fiennes), flirting with his driver (Max Minghella), or (unsuccessfully) avoiding the ire of Waterford’s wife (Yvonne Strahovski), patriarchal dominion becomes the series’ unifying principle, the poison that soaks through the body politic “under His eye.” In this sense, the first great political drama of our authoritarian age is also, as with Atwood’s now three-decade-old novel, a kind of instant classic: Forever of our time. Matt Brennan
1. Legion Network: FX
We were introduced to Noah Hawley’s dark humor with Fargo, but Legion allows the writer/creator to play in a more fantastical sandbox—and thus to truly revel in a batshit crazy world. If ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. gave us the light-hearted comic-book action and Netflix’s quartet of interwoven series showcased the grittier side of superheroes, FX’s first partnership with Marvel embraces the insanity of a lesser-known X-Men character, making you forget it has any shared DNA with those blockbuster men in super-suits. The story is as much about Dan Stevens’ character’s grasp on reality as his struggle for survival. David Heller suffers from schizophrenia, but what’s real and what’s the product of malevolent forces is often unclear, with his friend, Lenny Busker (Aubrey Plaza), playing the imaginary devil on his shoulder. The production design, full of ‘60s/’70s psychedelia and striking color palettes, the cast, which includes Hawley’s Fargo collaborators Rachel Keller and Jean Smart, and the sharp writing make this another win for FX.
