Wynonna Earp 3x01 Blood Red and Going Down
Stray thoughts
1) Oh, Wynonna…
She’s taking a holiday from dealing, happily vacationing in the land of Not Coping. When she breaks down, it’s going to be awful…
2) The idiot revenants are mocking her about her baby, they truly are stupid. Yep, she’s sweeping the floor with their asses.
3) Jeremy grew a mustache wtf.
He’s going full-blown bromance with Doc, isn’t he?
4) Doing a power walk with your posse…
EXPECTATION…
REALITY...
5) Who the fuck are these super extra, grill-wearing, purple-smoke hipsters?
The girl just touched the Sheriff and he invited them in and holy hell! They’re vampires! We got vampires! How did I not immediately guess they were vampires when I described them as extra and hipsters? Of course!
They’re very subtle…
So, just with a touch, they can glamour people? Is that it?
6) Waves and Nicole are in bed, and they’re all jokey about Nicole’s marriage and Waverly’s make-out sesh with Rosita, so I guess they’ve already worked through their issues. It would’ve been very interesting to actually see them work it out, and not just have this post-coital love bubble.
7) Why is this turning me on?
I guess it’s also turning them on a little bit, so we’re all on the same team… That is, until Doc brings up their baby, who is 19 weeks by now. Ouch.
8) She really wants to make things right with him… I guess my ship is not dead yet…
He won’t touch me unless we’re training and he won’t talk to me unless he’s angry. So I keep him training and angry.
So he’s obviously still not over the “giving up the baby” thing, which makes total sense. But how is Wynonna feeling? I’m guessing she’s absolutely wrecked, hence all the drinking and partying. I wonder when or how the show will address this.
9) Hmm. Waverly brings up a memory about their mother, but Wynonna doesn’t mention how she’s been seeing her. I’m guessing this is a Big Secret that’s bound to come out during this season, right? The question is, why did their mother leave and how and why did Wynonna keep in touch with her?
10) Nedley is wearing a scarf around his neck and I’m guessing he’s been bitten.
11) Well, someone enjoyed a good ol’ feast, didn’t they?
Nedley was very adamant that “they didn’t do this”, that is to say, the vamps. And now Nicole is saying that these massacres have been happening since the 1920s, carried out by a group self-ascribed as the Cult of Bulshar. Cool. Cool cool cool.
12) Well, some light has been shined on those final scenes from the season 2 finale. Nicole, quite conveniently, waited nearly 5 months to tell Wynonna and Waverly that when Mercedes mentioned Bulshar it rang a bell, and Dolls gave her some BBD files – the ones we saw her holding in the last scene of the season 2 finale. Waverly seems to have no issue with this, but Wynonna is definitely taken aback by learning this information just now. I think she feels she hasn’t been let in on some key information about the demon that has been after her family for ages. Of course, Nicole and Dolls were probably just trying to protect the Earps and figure out if they could fight this demon without endangering them. But it is kind of odd that Dolls has chosen Nicole as his confidant and that he’s purposefully withholding information from Wynonna...
13) Nicole seems to be triggered watching the whole crime scene, which coupled with the fact that she mentioned having heard the name Bulshar before probably means she was either A) the daughter of one of the people attacked by the cult, or B) witnessed one of these massacres as a child, or C) both.
14) Cool, Waverly and Nicole have both been glamoured. And the vampire boss bitch told Waves she needs them as “tributes.” Is this some Hunger Games shit?
15) Oh, sweet tween Jeremy…
16) So…
Is their mom in a mental hospital or in prison? It looks like a prison, but she also looks a bit… deranged? But can it be a prison? We saw Wynonna meeting her in a mountain or something like that… Anyway, Wynonna keeps asking her to tell her more about Bulshar, but she won’t budge. She doesn’t trust Wynonna will be able to break the curse and she fears she might endanger Waverly.
17) The vampires want to turn Doc into one of their own. The only catch, in order to prove that it’s really him, he has to endure torture. I don’t know who is in charge of the recruiting division in this vampire undertaking but that’s not how you lure new recruits…
18) Okay, so it’s a prison. But what is she in prison for? And why does Waverly seem to believe she simply left them? Okay, Wynonna just answered my question – their Dad told them to hide the truth from Waverly, which makes sense when she was a little kid, but I’m betting she’ll be super pissed when she finds Wynonna has been keeping this tidbit of info for almost two decades?
19) Wait, what did I miss? Dolls just turned towards Wynonna all meaningful looks and what-not, he said “Wynonna”, they stared at each other, and then he just got off the car – and left his cheeseburger. Who the fuck does that? I hate it when characters do that shit with food in movies and TV shows! But seriously, what did I miss? Was this a “Dolls almost confessed his feelings but thought better of it” moment? Or was it just his lactose intolerance kicking in...?
20) Cool. So now, everyone but Wynonna and Doc is under the vampires’ influence.
21) So, the Vampire Boss Bitch and Doc have history. Go figure. She called him an asshole, so she must know him pretty well.
22)
23) So everyone has been glamoured, pimped up, and now they’re taking down Wynonna. I guess it’s all in Doc’s hands, now.
24) So, the vampires’ plan is to either turn or eat everyone in town. And everyone is super cool with it because they’ve been glamoured. Except Nicole seems to be remembering something, she’s called herself a survivor, the survivor… of one of the Cult of Bulshar’s massacres, maybe?
25)
I thought Dolls was glamoured, too. He’s either telling the truth or he’s setting Wynonna up.
26) “We’re gonna need more stakes.” Wynonna is going full Buffy and I’m fucking here for it!
27) Not… your best… zinger, Wynonna…
28) Vengabus, ooh, that reference is carbon-dated! And I instantly got it, what does that say about me?
29) OMFG, when these vampires get staked they turn into purple dust! But… wait… when they arrive, they do it surrounded by a cloud of purple fog? Does that mean they use other vampires’ ashes to give some pizzazz to their entrance?
And as each vampire gets staked, the glamoured people become unglamoured and they are starting to kick some vamp ass! I mean, look at Nedley!
30) “I will not get ate while tied to a stripper pole.” You know, good for you, Doc, we all need to set goals for ourselves. And that’s as good as any.
31) Oookay…?
She told him they’ve done things to her she doesn’t want done to him, and asked him to stay in the Vengabus, but of course, he didn’t.
32) He just jumped through a window and staked a vampire who was about to eat Nedley and now they’re smiling at each other and slowly walking towards each other and I’m dead!
They look so hot, why aren’t they kissing already?
33) Wait, is this Bulshar?
Is this how they’ve shown the face of the Big Bad? An underwhelming reveal with little warning?
34) These two…
They’re finally acting amicably, without angry training or silence treatment. Wynonna feels elated that he’s having a drink with her again like they used to, and they toast to Alice, which is the elephant in the room. I mean, who better to understand how each of them feels about giving up their daughter than each other? They really need to be each other’s person for this.
35) YES!!
My OTP is alive!
(it kind of looks like Wynonna has a mustache, though)
36) Hahahaha! Dolls’ face when Wynonna’s compares Waverly’s “warm and tingly” description to peeing in the shower…
37) So, Dolls is egging Wynonna on to talk to Waverly, I’m guessing about their mom, and he can’t help but take a jab at her for choosing Doc, and I thought he was over the whole fighting with Doc over Wynonna? I guess not.
38) Okay, I totally saw this coming:
NICOLE: I’m starting to think there was a Cult of Bulshar survivor once. And it was me.
39) And just when Wynonna was about to tell Waverly about their mother…
And now Waverly is being dragged from the wreck and taken away?!
I did not see that coming!
40) This was an interesting season opener, with a much lighter tone than I expected and barely touching on the unresolved issues from last season. Bulshar seems to be the Big Bad, but for one, his reveal was lackluster at best. Suddenly, the camera cut to his face and that was it. He was just standing there. Not too ominous for a Big Bad. Nicole is about to be given a Big Backstory, so I guess that will be interesting to find out, although I think I would’ve been completely fine with her just being a regular human who stumbled upon the supernatural, you know? Jeremy is still having a bro crush on Doc, and I love it, especially because it goes both ways (I totally caught Doc telling the revenant that Jeremy is a vegetarian, which continues to cement the fact that they know each other very well, they’re buddies!) Waverly and Nicole seem to be on solid ground, but I wonder how figuring out where she comes from will affect Waverly’s relationships with Nicole and Wynonna. All in all, a solid, fun episode, although probably not one of the show’s most memorable ones. Very excited to see where this season takes us, though.
40) Hope you enjoyed my recap, and, as usual, if you’ve got this far, thank you for reading! If you enjoy my recaps and my blog, please consider supporting it on ko-fi.Thanks!

Nicole Haught: S3 Analysis
There is definitely a lot of mystery surrounding Nicole this season. We’re getting a bit more of her backstory, but still not enough to know much about her. There’s just... too many loose ends. But I think we can start tying some of those together if we look closely.
My current theory is that Nicole is a Revenant hybrid, and more importantly, Bulshar’s heir. I’m going to create a masterlist of things I believe point us in that direction, and it’s gonna be a long ass post. So bear with me, everyone! I’m gonna put this all under a ‘Read More’ so people who don’t want to see any spoilers don’t have to!
Note: This theory covers up everything up until S03xE08. I’m sure tonight’s episode is gonna absolutely shit all over this, but I tried my best.
First and foremost, I think there’s a couple things we need to establish before we get into the nitty-gritty of Season 3. We’re gonna jump all the way back to Season 2 for this. I’m going to start back with an important quote from S02xE07:
“It’s not supposed to be possible. Do you know what we’ve done here? We’ve started a new race. We’re the new Adam and Eve.” - Jonas
This line is spoken by Jonas. He is the Revenant who believes he has fathered Wynonna’s child. He believes they have created a new race of Revenant/Human hybrids. This is the first time we hear about the Adam and Eve concept, but the interesting part is that he says they’re the ‘new Adam and Eve’, implying that there was an old Adam and Eve. Yes, I know: “He’s obviously talking about the Adam and Eve that were in the Bible, Stef! They are the original!”. I get that - but here is where it gets interesting. Later on in the same episode:
“What makes you think this kid could be yours?” - Wynonna
“A Revenant breeding with a human - unlikely, yeah, but rumour is it’s happened before.” - Jonas
Maybe the ‘original’ Adam and Eve that had to have come first wasn’t the one depicted in the Bible - but the original ‘Adam and Eve’ that was rumoured to create the first Revenant/Human hybrid.
Now, get this: at this moment, the camera angle changes to Waverly (who, at that time, we all believed was the original Revenant/Human hybrid Jonas was referring to. But if you keep watching, the camera then pans from Waverly, to Nicole watching on in the distance.
As Revenants and humans mating is not a common thing, one can only assume that there must have been special circumstances that allow a human and a Revenant to conceive a child. One can only assume that the Revenant in question must have been extremely powerful in order to interfere with the laws of nature. Otherwise, there would be Revenant/Human hybrids running all over Purgatory. Now, who could be powerful enough to interfere with the laws of nature?
And you thought Bobo was going to be a handful.
So we’ve touched on Season 2 first bringing up the concept of Adam and Eve. Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Stef, Nicole can’t be a Rev/Human hybrid. She could get out of the Ghost River Triangle!” Yep, you’re right. But I think we can safely assume that being a Revenant/Human hybrid comes with its own perks. It’s considered another ‘race’, meaning a hybrid would not follow the exact same rules as a full Revenant would. Otherwise, there would be no ‘hybrid’. You’d either just be a Revenant or you’d be a human. We can’t assume a hybrid would follow the same rules as a regular Revenant would. Or any other supernatural being, for that matter.
For one main reason, shown in S02xE12:
Now, these choice of shots are incredibly interesting. Why would they feel the need to show Nicole passing through the border of the Ghost River Triangle?
During this scene, we assumed that Waverly (who we thought was half-Revenant at the time) and Alice (who we were unsure of) would not be able to leave the Ghost River Triangle if they had Revenant blood in them. They both pass the border, and neither are effected by that. At that moment, we are relieved because ‘that means Waverly and Alice don’t have Revenant blood in them’! Well, thanks to season 3, we now know that Waverly definitely does not have Revenant blood in her. She’s a hybrid alright: but a different kind. She’s an Angel/Human hybrid.
The thing is: I propose the human half of a hybrid child (Revenant or Angel) would shield them from being effected by passing through the Ghost River Triangle.
What does that mean for Alice? That means that we truly can’t confirm that she is Doc’s daughter. However, it is STILL the most likely option as we have already determined that a extremely powerful Revenant would be needed in order to parent a hybrid child - something we all know Jonas is not. And Doc is still technically human, he is just immortal. Or, at least, that’s where things stood at the time Alice was conceived. Not getting into Doc’s Season 3 drama right now, it’s derailing this theory.
Anyway, getting back on track: it’s the human halves of Waverly and Nicole (and possibly Alice) that enable them to pass through the border without being effected. This is why full Revenants cannot leave the Ghost River Triangle - and this is also why Julian (Waverly’s angelic father) cannot get back in. A pure supernatural being cannot pass through the border. A human, or a hybrid, can.
To summarize my points thus far:
We know a Revenant and a Human conceiving a hybrid child has happened before.
We know that an extremely powerful demon must have been involved (Bulshar) or else this would be a common thing amongst Revenants.
We know that a supernatural hybrid child does not follow the same rules as a full supernatural being would.
The human half of a supernatural hybrid child offers protection from things that would otherwise effect a full supernatural being.
Okay! I know that’s a lot of backstory. But I feel like these things are important to keep in mind while going forward.
Now, let’s get into the new stuff shown to us in Season 3.
Season 2 left us with Nicole remembering Bulshar’s name (when spoken by Widow Mercedes), and proceeding to learn as much as she possibly could about him with the help of Dolls. She is also given Bulshar’s ring to hold onto and protect, knowing that Bulshar wants his ring as it holds some sort of power unbeknownst to them. Nicole learns that there have been many massacres throughout the years, committed by the Cult of Bulshar. Through her research, she begins to realize that the “forest fire” she survived as a child was not a forest fire at all - it was one of these massacres. And she was the only survivor, ever.
S03xE01: “When I first heard the name... Bulshar... When faux-Mercedes said it right before you shot the Widows [...] it twigged something in me. It’s like I heard it before, so... I asked Dolls, and he gave me some old BBD files.” - Nicole
She has a panic attack upon recognizing the symbol of Bulshar/Bulshar’s cult at the sight of another one of the massacres. Waverly takes her to get some water and calm down in the bathroom, where they both become ‘glamoured’ (under compulsion) by a vampire named Petra. Now, I know there are some people that believe Nicole faked being glamoured but I don’t entirely believe that as of yet. Nicole is still half-human, which would make her vulnerable to being glamoured by vampires unlike Dolls (a full-demon-dragon-made-by-Black-Badge) who was able to resist being glamoured. She is, however, able to break through her compulsion - something that not even Waverly, an angel/human hybrid, can do. Waverly refers to Nicole becoming a ‘victim’ to the vampires, and Nicole manages to snap out of her glamour for a moment. S03xE01:
“But... I don’t think I could watch you get eaten. Be a... a victim.” - Waverly
“I-I’ve never been a victim. I’m a... survivor. No, I’m the survivor...” - Nicole
There must be something powerful about Nicole if she is able to resist being compelled, even momentarily, when Waverly was no match for it.
Side note: Nicole not being able to be ‘possessed’ or ‘controlled’ is something that has happened before. In S02xE03, Mictian (the demon possessing Waverly) tries to take over Nicole when Waverly kisses her while she’s on patrol at the homecoming game. Nicole pulls away and says:
“Waverly! Not in uniform, okay? Not in public.” - Nicole
“Not good enough.” - Waverly
No one really understood that line, but I believe that was Mictian speaking through Waverly. Nicole was not a good enough host. She could not be manipulated in the way that Mictian wanted, which would have been beneficial as Nicole has a position of power as a police officer. I believe that being able to resist compulsion by another demon, even if only for a few moments, has something to do with her Revenant hybrid nature. You’ll see why as we move a bit further with evidence presented to us in Season 3, because this happens again.
The next instance we find evident tying Nicole to Bulshar is in S03xE03. Nicole and Waverly go off to retrieve what was left of Dolls’ belongings. Waverly notes that Dolls and Nicole ‘got each other’ because they were both cops. Nicole says that he had a traumatic past, and that led him to believe he might be able to help Nicole with discovering more about hers. This is where Nicole goes more in-depth about the massacre in the Ghost River Triangle.
S03xE03: “I was just a kid... my parents were travelling. Again. And, um, they told me I could go to this music festival with my aunt and uncle [...] There was an attack... a man in leather. So much screaming and blood [...] and for years, my parents just told me that everybody died in a forest fire. And that I had somehow escaped, but... you know, it just didn’t explain the nightmares. [...] Last spring, when Widow Mercedes said his name... Bulshar... it was like this shotgun went off in my head. And Dolls helped me. He got me files, he- he told me that Black Badge had been covering up these massacres for years. [...] I somehow got myself down to the river, and somebody saved me.” - Nicole
It’s a long quote to cite, I know, but there’s a lot of interesting information here. First, I think Dolls knows more about Nicole than he ever let on before his death. He knows Black Badge has been covering up these massacres for years. I highly doubt the fact that there was only ever one survivor, a child nonetheless, somehow slipped past him. He must have known more about Nicole, explaining his willingness to help her get to the truth of her past.
The next important thing I want to talk about is the fact that Nicole survived in the first place. She describes it as “she somehow got away” - but I find that... very odd. After all, this is Bulshar and his cult we are talking about. They never leave survivors. They are brutal killers. How does a small child manage to evade them? I propose that they intentionally let her escape, because of the fact that she is Bulshar’s heir (Remember, he is the only one who is powerful enough to bend the laws of nature to have a child with a human). After all, why would Bulshar want to slaughter his own flesh and blood?
This is also the first time we really get an idea of what Nicole’s parents are like. We get the impression that they aren’t really around for her, leaving Nicole alone in the care of others while they travel. In this case, she was with her aunt and uncle.
Later on in this episode, Nicole goes on to tell Waverly that she doesn’t need pity regarding her past. Waverly struggles to digest all of this new information, and goes on it say:
“Look, you came back to Purgatory to be a cop, right?” - Waverly
“Yep, yep.” - Nicole
“Which means, it can’t be a coincidence...” - Waverly
“Probably not.” - Nicole
“Which means none of us have any free will over our lives, and we’re all gonna die anyway so what’s the point?” - Waverly
“The point is that I love you. And if that is our destiny, then I am pretty darn stoked.” - Nicole
Now, this quote is so incredibly important. This quote brings into discussion the concept of fate and destiny. Remember, Bulshar used to be Sheriff Clootie before he turned demon. He was Sheriff of Purgatory. Now, Nicole has returned to Purgatory to become a police officer - a job she could have gotten anywhere else in the city, especially as she is said to have graduated at the top of her class. Nicole was destined to return to Purgatory because she has a prophecy to fulfill, unbeknownst to her just yet.
Her destiny is not just to follow in Bulshar’s footsteps, but there’s more to it than just that. Remember the Adam and Eve concept mentioned back in Season 2? We’ll get back to that soon.
Moving on to S03xE04, Waverly and Nicole visit the site of the massacre to see a memorial has been put up referring to it as a ‘tragic forest fire’. Waverly asks if the memorial seems familiar, and Nicole laments on how it’s been 20 years since then. Waverly then asks Nicole if she has disposed of Bulshar’s ring yet. Nicole states that she is looking for “the perfect spot, where no one will ever find it”. The two begin talking about Nicole surviving the massacre, and Nicole points out:
“That’s just it. I was already down by the river when something attacked the camp. I mean, I heard it. Chaos, the... horrible, agonized screams... but, there was no fire... there wasn’t even any smoke...” - Nicole
She then realizes that Black Badge was the one who came up with the ‘forest fire’ cover-up story and that they destroyed any evidence stating otherwise. Nicole then says that she is ‘just a loose end’, and says ‘she just got lucky’.
However, from the way it sounds, the massacre was planned to begin once Nicole was already away from the scene. This would ensure her safety and her ability to escape, as Bulshar would not be happy to hear that his only heir was killed in the massacre.
Waverly suggests Nicole try talking to her parents about what happened, despite knowing that Nicole doesn’t speak to them (as she stated back in S02xE10). Nicole states that it would be pointless, as they were fed the ‘official version’ of the story (the forest fire) and tries to turn the conversation around on Waverly.
Nicole is very touchy on the subject of her parents. Naturally, not having her parents be present in her life would make her harbour resentment. But the real question is why were her parents so negligent toward her? Were they just bad parents? Or was it because perhaps, she wasn’t their biological child? Maybe Bulshar gave her to them to raise, away from the Ghost River Triangle, to keep his heir safe from not just the Earps but any other Revenants who would want to challenge him? Remember, being a hybrid means Nicole could leave the Ghost River Triangle. Bulshar, the other revenants, and any other full supernatural being could not. The Earps wouldn’t think of looking outside the Triangle for his heir when they know that the Revenants can’t leave - or so they thought.
At this point, Nicole and Waverly run into Robin and asks to be taken to the Sheriff’s department. As Waverly leads Robin to the car, Nicole pulls Bulshar’s ring out of her pocket and throws it as far as she possibly can into the snow in the forest before leaving.
It’s also in this episode (we’re still on S03xE04!) that Nedley makes his decision (albiet, thanks to Wynonna) to make Nicole the new Sheriff, as he is getting old and becoming tired of constantly trying to cover up the supernatural happenings in Purgatory that have happened over the years.
“I have been covering this shit up for too long. I-... I’m tired of it.” - Nedley
“Well maybe then you should just step aside, y’know? Let someone else have a turn. Someone who still has some fight left.” - Wynonna
For those of you who aren’t sure of the timeline of this show, we can infer that the course of Season 1 up until now all happen within the same year. We also know this because Nicole states back in S03xE01 that she was saving the outfit she was wearing for hers and Waverly’s one year anniversary. Nicole and Waverly have been dating for less than a year. Nicole was a rookie cop just starting out in Purgatory when she met Waverly. We know this because it’s constantly mentioned that Nicole still needs to ‘learn how this town operates’ in Season 1 and 2, and how she’s still an outsider to Purgatory particularly in Season 3. Nicole is an exceptional cop, but to go from a rookie cop to Sheriff of Purgatory - in less than a year? It would be impossible anywhere else. It almost sounds like... some sort of divine intervention. As if she’s fulfilling a prophecy of some sort. As if she’s following in someone’s footsteps.
Now, we move on to everyone’s favourite episode. S03xE05: Jolene.
Okay, second favourite.
Granted, this is definitely a Waverly-centric episode. But do you remember when I brought up how Nicole is able to resist compulsion to a certain degree? Yep, this is what I was referring to.
We know that Jolene (Jolene, Jolene, JOLEEENE) is able to compel people through her baking - which is why we always see her stuffing people with baked goods whenever she has the opportunity. In S03xE05, she gives Nicole lemon scones and is able to compel her into not trying to arrest her. She mentions bringing some treats over to Wynonna and Waverly, and lies to Nicole saying they’re out on a solo mission without her which plays on Nicole’s insecurities of being left out. Jolene then states:
“I do have to get going, I need your girlfriend to finish all of this. I would do it myself, but of course, I can’t physically harm her...” - Jolene
During this moment, you can see Nicole visibly shake out of her compulsion at the mention of Waverly being hurt. She tries to question Jolene about her intentions, but Jolene is able to regain control of Nicole by getting her to eat more of the lemon scone. Nicole then laughs it off, and tells Jolene to ‘tell Waverly and those Earp bitches’ she said hi. Immediately after saying that, Nicole breaks out of her compulsion momentarily, again - not before Jolene takes off before she can act.
Later on in the episode, Jolene finds Nicole alone after an intense fight with Waverly (after our favourite bar fight scene). Nicole states that she’s waiting for Waverly, and talks about the fight and even recalls that she said horrible things that she had no control over. Jolene strokes Nicole’s cheek, saying:
“I see you... You spend your life rescuing others... What about you?” - Jolene
Implying Nicole needs ‘rescuing’ or some sort, it is possible that Jolene might be able to see Nicole for more than what she is. Nicole pulls away, uncomfortable with Jolene’s advances. Jolene, in attempts to replace Waverly, attempts to regain compulsion over Nicole:
“I’m whatever you want me to be... and everything that she’s not.” - Jolene
“I love Waverly.”- Nicole
“No you don’t.” - Jolene
“Yes, I do. I love her, and- You.. I don’t even think I like you.” - Nicole
Again, as a Revenant hybrid, it seems that having control over Nicole is more difficult than that of a normal human, and possibly even an Angel hybrid like Waverly.
Jolene, unable to regain her control over Nicole, becomes hostile and tries to attack Nicole - except, a wild card comes into play.
Bulshar’s ring. Nicole threw it away back in two previous episodes. Suddenly, Jolene tries to attack Nicole and the ring returns to her. Bulshar’s ring proceeds to burn Jolene when she tries to take it from Nicole - as if the ring is trying to protect Nicole. Why would Bulshar’s ring protect anyone that wasn’t Bulshar himself? Unless... it was protecting his heir. It was protecting his family line. Jolene, fearful of the ring and Bulshar, throws Nicole into a closet (HA.) and flees to complete her plan in exacting her revenge on Waverly.
Okay, now we’ve hit everyone’s favourite episode: S03x06. Also known as The Christmas Episode. Because who doesn’t like powerbottom Nicole in an elf suit and Waverly Mrs. Claus?
Though really, this episode is a bit.. unclear to me, so if anyone wants to chime in please feel free! I’ll admit I need some help. I’ve skimmed through it a few times and I feel as though I’m still missing some information, somehow.
At this point, we know Bulshar is kidnapping people across Purgatory, most notably descendants of the First Families that founded it. We know that members of the First Families must not be killed. Bulshar reveals that the First Families betrayed him, and sold him out to Wyatt Earp, leading up to him seeking his revenge on the town over a century later. What he’s doing to the people he has kidnapped, though... is a bit unclear to me. We essentially see them in cages, being taken out to be pumped full of green goo.
I think the most important Nicole-centric thing to happen in this episode is Nedley announces his retirement, thus naming her the new Sheriff - officially. While not much happens in regards to being able to tie Nicole in as Bulshar’s heir, I did notice something fun:
Nicole and Wynonna are both wearing deep purple crowns. A fun tidbit to include, especially with both of them being the heirs. Waverly is wearing a yellow crown - an angelic colour. I wonder why Jeremy has a matching crown? I wish we knew more about his backstory. He’s an honorary angel in my book, though. Michelle is off camera wearing a green grown. Oddly enough, Doc isn’t wearing one at all. Anyone want to chime in on what the symbolism behind this could be? My brain is fogging up at this point.
Forgive me, I’m like, 5 hours into this masterlist post and I’m getting sidetracked. Only two more episodes to analyze at this point. At least until tonight’s episode comes out and throws a wrench into all of this.
Now we hit S03xE07. I love how this episode opens. Nicole is trying to earn the respect of her coworkers and the town as the new Sheriff, but it’s not so much that that I’m interested in. I’m very partial to the following line:
“I had no idea Officer Haught was your sister’s girlfriend, that’s so weird.” - Charlie
“You’re not one of those ‘Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve’ people, are you?” - Wynonna
What an interesting choice of foreshadowing words to use in regards to Nicole and Waverly dating. The last time we heard about Adam and Eve was back in Season 2, when Jonas believed he and Wynonna had created a Revenant hybrid child. And, as you all know, this isn’t the last time we’ll be hearing about it, either.
Aside from the Wynhaught mess that the two always get themselves into each season, Nicole spends this episode trying to convince Bunny of the city council that she’s fit for the job of Sheriff. Bunny comments that she would rather back Wynonna for Sheriff (much to Nicole’s disbelief) because:
“And the Earps are one of Purgatory’s original families. This one [referring to Nicole]...” - Bunny
“This one?” - Wynonna
“Sorry, what about ‘this one’?” - Nicole
“What Purgatory needs is a homegrown hero. Not some.. fly-by-night outsider, who - let’s face it - is a little too... different.” - Bunny
Now, we all know Bunny was referring to Nicole being a lesbian when she said Nicole was ‘too different’, but she’s also not wrong. Nicole is different; she’s a Revenant hybrid. How ironic would it be to have a Revenant hybrid protecting the town from not just your normal everyday problems, but from Revenants themselves?
After a run-in with Revenants, dealing with a gnome-seeking a wife (how do you like that for a Bulshar metaphor? I’ll get on that more later), and setting Bunny straight in supporting Nicole as Sheriff, Wynonna and Nicole have a heart to heart. Funnily enough, Wynonna tells Nicole:
“You would be a good wife.” - Wynonna
“Ah, thank you... But you’re not my type. You cheat a drinking games.” - Nicole
“You know, I used to think you were an outsider, too. And that things would get too demon-y, and you’d go and leave my sister with a broken heart.” - Wynonna
“Wynonna, I love her.” - Nicole
This episode brings up the concept of being a wife/marriage quite a bit, perhaps bringing to light what Nicole’s purpose as Bulshar’s heir may be. Wynonna also tells Nicole that she is ‘staked to this land’ just as she is, also confirming that Nicole is a part of Purgatory, and not just “the outsider” everyone seems to think she is.
It is also revealed in this episode that Nedley was the one that ‘rescued’ Nicole as a child from the forest fire/massacre. At least, he’s the one that found her after the massacre had taken place. We already established that, according to this theory, Nicole was ‘allowed’ to escape before the massacre even began, giving her, as Bulshar’s heir, ample time to get out of harm’s way.
Nedley and Nicole also talk about Nicole’s parents and how they don’t talk. Nicole calls her parents selfish and says they don’t speak or keep in touch.
“Why? Because of who you are?” - Nedley
“Yeah... a cop.” - Nicole
“When I found out you had enrolled in the Police Academy, I couldn’t resist offering you this job.” - Nedley
“When I saw the posting, I just- I knew this is where I had to serve. Everything good I have in my life is because I came back to the Ghost River Triangle.” - Nicole
This quote further ties back into the point Waverly makes in that there is no concept of ‘free will’ in Purgatory. Everyone who is tied to that land has some sort of purpose to fulfill.
Finally, we get to the most recent episode (for now, anyway). S03xE08 starts with Wynonna wearing Bulshar’s ring (which Doc gave to her as protection at the end of Episode 07). It seems to have no affect on Wynonna - at least, it’s not burning her the way its burned Jolene and Doc.
This episode spends a lot of time talking about Bulshar’s ultimate goal. In the past, while he was still Sheriff, he asked Kate to read his tarot cards. Kate began the reading and ultimately refused to read the final card - his ‘future’ card. Doc intervened and unbeknownst to both Kate and Bulshar, hid the cards from the reading. He summons his dead wife Constance Clootie to retrieve the cards for him, allowing him to finally see what his future reveals. He is successful, and we see him delighted to finally see his results.
Wynonna, unable to stop Bulshar, realizes that she and Bulshar might share a future as she is the Earp heir destined to stop him. She asks Kate to read her cards, as that would tell her what Bulshar’s cards would be.
Now, another thing that happened during this episode was the famous BGD Big Gay Dinner. Nicole and Waverly invite Jeremy and new-boyfriend Robin to the homestead. Nicole and Jeremy are talking while Nicole is setting up the dinner table, and Jeremy points out the awkward elephant in the room.
Bulshar’s ring has returned to Nicole, again. Now, the fun part is Nicole is holding the ring, down on one knee when Waverly walks in the room. Nicole has that ‘this isn’t what it looks like’ face on while Waverly is caught up in the idea that Nicole is proposing to her. Nicole clarifies to a flustered Waverly that this was Bulshar’s ring and that it is consistently following her around, which triggers concern among everyone.
Constance later barges in on the BGD, looking for where Doc has stored Bulshar’s cards from his tarot reading ages ago. She lands a hit on Nicole, throwing her against the barn door. Suddenly, the ring begins to glow and burn Nicole. She throws it away, and Waverly grabs the ring and instinctively puts it on. “It fits me,” she states, before delivering a finishing super-powered hit on Constance.
Waverly later discovers that the ring won’t come off, and the inscription “Paradise” is revealed on the underside of the ring, as discovered by Jeremy. Wynonna rushes in, and states that she knows what Bulshar is after now that Kate has read her cards. The cards represent the past, present, and future. His past card was “The Devil”, which makes sense. He cursed the Earps, became an all powerful demon hellbent on revenge on the First Families that betrayed him. His present card is “The Tower”, representing darkness and destruction, as Kate describes. Now, his future card? “The Lovers” - Adam and Eve.
Bulshar is looking for his Paradise, his Eve, his Garden of Eden. And with the ring on Waverly, it looks like he’s found his new Eve, which could potentially mean that his Garden of Eden might even be located in the Gibson Greenhouse where Waverly was born.
How does this tie into Nicole? That’s still up in the heir (ha ha, get it?), but the way I see it is that Bulshar’s Eve (Waverly) would be promised to his heir, Nicole. My issue with this part of the theory is that I don’t know what exactly he’d gain from having Adam and Eve together, unless Nicole and Waverly can unlock something with their powers in the Garden of Eden?
It’s all very unclear, and I’m sure Episode 09 is gonna wreck this theory, but there it is. A full masterlist and analysis on everything involving our favourite ginger cop.
Let me know what you guys think! Did it make sense? Did you like it? Hate it? Enjoy guys! I’m looking forward to reading your responses and watching Episode 09 absolutely wreck 6 hours of video analysing and hard work.

we’ve seen Nicole as an self but how about a backstory on how waves convinced her to do it
The holiday season was supposed to be fun. It was going to be Nicole and her new, weird family. Dolls and Jeremy and Doc and Wynonna would come over for dinner and Waverly and Nicole would be cooking. There would be wood in the fireplace and a Christmas tree fully decorated with even some pop culture-styled ornaments for Jeremy’s enjoyment. And there would be the menorah on the table beside it, and Nicole would get to spend time with people she loved most.
But then, Nedley was dressed up as Santa and he was heading down to the elementary school, and someone had to be the elf.
So, Waverly signed up Nicole.
Except, Nicole had no idea. No idea until Lonnie is dropping off a ridiculous elf costume on her desk, and Nicole has to keep her eyes from bulging out as he hands her the elf ears she has to wear.
“Are you kidding me?” Nicole yelps as she storms the BBD office.
“Shit! What happened? Where the bad guys?” Wynonna jumps, but Nicole shakes her head.
“Waverly, here, signed me up to be an elf! I have to wear – “ She lifts the elf ears up. “ - these!”
Wynonna settles back in her seat, grinning from ear to ear, clearly enjoying this. If she had a bowl of popcorn, she would be eating it like crazy right now.
“Baby, it’s for the kids!” Waverly says, hands raised in mock surrender. “Don’t you remember when you were little and you would wait for Santa?”
“I’m Jewish!” Nicole reminds her.
“Listen, they needed volunteers! And I’m volunteering too!” Waverly insists. She lifts up her costume – red and white and black buckle. “I’m Mrs. Claus!”
“Well, that’s much more flattering than my elf suit,” Nicole frowns. “Switch with me,”
“What? No! I have more Christmas cheer!” Waverly yelps, clutching the outfit to her chest with an iron grip.
“Waves,” Nicole pouts. “Let me be Mrs. Claus!”
“No!”
“Waves!”
“You’re Jewish! You don’t even like Santa!”
“I like Santa just fine! I just didn’t wait for him to break into my house like you did!”
“Well, we didn’t have that part,” Wynonna brings up. “Mama once tried to hire someone to be a Santa, but Willa and I got sort of confused and chased him out of the house for being on our land. So our Santa just sort of…knocked politely on the door and was escorted in while staring down the barrel of Peacemaker,”
“Or so daddy said,” Waverly brings up. “Once Mama was gone, there was no more Santa. There was just…nothing. But I’ve always loved Christmas. I loved Santa and Mrs. Claus and I always waited for them to come back. And when I lived with Aunt Gus, they did. Curtis and her would dress up for me even though I knew the truth by then,”
“Oh,” Nicole hesitates a moment.
“Mrs. Claus is my connection to both my mama and my Aunt Gus,” Waverly says with the biggest puppy eyes.
Nicole stares down at her elf costume for a long moment before she looks up again. “Let me be Mrs. Claus,”
“Nicole!” Waverly squawks. “I just told you my sad backstory!”
“Well, thank you for telling me, but I still want to be Mrs. Claus!”
“Alright! Alright! Truce! You be the elf. I’ll be Mrs. Claus, and I’ll do that thing you like,”
“Alright, that’s my cue to leave before I vomit on you two,” Wynonna says, standing up abruptly. “This conversation is no longer fun. Call me when you stop reenacting cliché chick flicks,” Wynonna storms out but not before she notices how red Nicole’s face had gotten.
—
When Wynonna comes back to BBD, holding a coffee and staring at Nicole fully gowned in her elf-entire, pointy ears and all, she can’t help but smile.
“You are so whipped, Haught,”
“Shut up,” But Nicole knows she is too.

My Theory on Nicole’s Backstory - Part 1
Emily Andras likes to swerve us, so until then, here’s my theory on Nicole’s backstory.
Before Nicole became one third of the “unkillable gay trio”, our favorite redheaded police officer has been escaping death way more often than you think.
Let’s start with Jack of Knives.
Jack of Knives
In universe, not only was Jack of Knives a part of The Seven, he was also a bonafide serial killer.
Compared to the others, Jack didn’t need to rely on his revenant powers to capture his victims, like August Hamilton in 1x04 who killed “sinners” through the use of mirrors unless they asked for forgiveness.
Instead, Jack did things the old-fashioned way: good ol’ kidnapping and the manipulation of some brainless lackey to do his bidding.
Jack’s revenant power were his claws, with them he’s able to disembowel a person and remove their organs; an intimate feature that meant he couldn’t exactly wreak havoc as well as the rest of his fellow demons.
There was also never any witness for Wynonna and Co. to question, all they had to go off of were clues.
Makes sense, since like most serial killers, Jack is extremely intelligent and do well to not leave witnesses to their crimes. He even references and hints to Wynonna that he could be Jack the Ripper.
But what makes Jack a compelling 1st clue in Nicole’s backstory and the possibility that she’s a supernatural creature is what he didn’t do. He didn’t kill Nicole. And I don’t think anyone’s ever wondered why that was, exactly.
But here’s three options I have for that:
He ambushed Nicole because his intent was to kill her but she didn’t fit his MO so instead he left her to die in the snow.
He ambushed Nicole because his intent was to kill her but when he realized that she wasn’t even remotely human, he got away from her as quickly as possible.
He had been watching Nicole from the start of the show and knew/had a suspicion of what she truly is, so he ambushed her to get a closer look and once his curiosity had been peaked, he left her in the snow.
Jack of Knives is a serial killer and all serial killers are defined by their MO and hunting ground.
Ted Bundy for example, killed young brunette women between 12 to 26 years old, generally through the use of strangulation.
Jack abducted brunette women and carved out their organs with his claws. Nicole didn’t fit his MO.
Serial killers are also keen on never leaving any witness, Jack didn’t. Team BBD had to figure out his MO and find Wynonna after he captured her, through the use of clues. But he left Nicole alive.
Option 1 is the narrative the show followed. Option 3 is a stretch, I get that. Option 2, given what we know of how serial killers work, seems far more plausible.
Baron Samedi
The Purgatory Case Files (does anyone even remember this? is this even canon?) during S2, featured Baron Samedi prominently.
In fact, he was the main focal point and the biggest keys in figuring out Nicole’s past are the recordings made/released during 2x10.
There is a recording Nicole made while in the hospital explaining her suspicions that Baron Samedi visited her. She also makes mention of wanting to speak with him about “changing Waverly’s heart”.
Right after, there is a recording of Samedi watching over Nicole and saying that he knows who she truly is.
These two lines of information are far too important to just be throwaway lines.
Baron Samedi is the loa (god) of death in Haitian Vodou. Generally, mythological gods are depicted as being super powerful and either semi-omnipotent or completely omnipotent (depending on their role in the story).
Samedi, knows who Nicole truly is, this is either because they have a pre-existing relationship, he’s aware of what Nicole has done in the past before arriving in Purgatory, or Nicole has purposely sought him out to “change Waverly’s heart.”
There is another recording in the Purgatory Case Files of Samedi telling Nicole to look for his hat. Mythological Gods tend to be synonymous with a specific object or element (i.e. lightning and Zeus, pomegranates and Persphone) Samedi’s is his hat. Why would he tell Nicole to find and bring him his hat if she was just some random human?
Nicole seeking Samedi out makes the most sense because she tells him that she wants him to “change Waverly’s heart”, but where does this come from?
Simple. Mikshun. Nicole knew something was up with Waverly right after she touched the goo in the S1 finale. Nicole knew something inhuman was in Waverly and needed help from someone who could handle this when no one else would listen. Who better to defeat a demon than the loa of death.
Which brings the question: how did Nicole know that Baron Samedi even exists?
Shae Pressman
I’m really reaching with this last entry.
Shae’s appearance in 2x10 was out of left field and took everyone by surprise. Our white knight, stetson wearing, ginger-haired officer was married all this time? Blasphemy!
But let’s take it back a step. Shae is a mystery because after her appearance she is rarely mentioned.
As the wife, who still cares about Nicole so far as to write “I will always love you” on their divorce papers in the S2 finale, she isn’t there when Nicole recovers from the Widow!Mercedes’ bite.
When Wynonna arrives with an antidote, it’s just Waverly and Nicole in the hospital. The question of where Shae went can be answered with a simple “now that Nicole’s healed, she left, what’s the point in her staying?” Which is true, but isn’t that just too easy?
Going back to Baron Samedi, the recordings in the hospital are done during a time when Nicole is alone in the hospital. When she’s able to hold off the pain, long enough to make the recording responding to Samedi’s visit.
The only time we are shown that Nicole holds off the pain is when she tells Waverly “I have never loved anyone, the way that I love you.” Before that, Nicole is struggling to not scream in pain while trying to get Wynonna to promise her that she wouldn’t leave her on life support.
Nicole’s been poisoned with something the doctors don’t know. In a situation like this, they wouldn’t leave her alone and would constantly monitor her, especially while she’s awake and coherent.
Nicole makes the recording when she’s and alone. But what if she wasn’t? While the rest of the team are looking to create an antidote, the perfect time for Nicole to make the recording but Shae is the only one there with her.
Shae’s treatment of Waverly is also very telling because despite still being technically married to Nicole, Shae is the one who reminds her that Nicole really loves her.
It is never explicitly stated (or is it?) that Nicole and Shae have kept in contact since Nicole arrived in Purgatory, leading to how/why Shae would know that Nicole really loves Waverly.
My theory is that Shae isn’t human herself. I’d prefer her to be a demigod, namely Baron Samedi’s daughter and she knows who and what Nicole is. The story of their drive-thru wedding in Vegas is just an elaborate cover up.

My thoughts for Wynonna Earp Season 3
Hello guys.
I've been thinking a lot about what season 3 may hold. As we all know the writing team can out think us any day. Twists and turns are bound to be around every corner, but here are some of my random thoughts and wishes. I'm sorry if it's a little 'all over the place' I've literally just written down whatever came into my head.
These are simply my opinions. I respect that many people may not agree with this but please respect that it's what I think and feel as we can agree to disagree!
Also please note I have no idea what's coming so if any of this comes true it's pure coincidence!
Without further ado please enjoy my word vomit!
Thanks Hannah @EarpSista on Twitter and Instagram
........
Wynonna
I think Wynonna may become more reckless. She'll want to end the curse more quickly so that she can bring Alice home, however by going head first into battles she may be risking herself and others. I don't think they'll be too much romantic stuff for her this season. She'll be too focused on her Mum and revenants to really think about it. She may also avoid Doc a little as he reminds her of Alice and what she's lost.
Jeremy
I know a lot of people have said they'd like him to have a boyfriend but I'm 50/50 on this. I mean yes it would be cute BUT I think a storyline I'd like is that someone likes him and he is too oblivious to see it. Someone very unstereotypical gay and Jeremy is just too blind to see it. Maybe they get together at some point but I think it would be a cute storyline to see.
Nicole
I'd like to know why she doesn't talk to her parents-a bit more backstory would be nice. It would be nice to see her do more police work, we only really get glimpses of it, maybe she can help 'BBD' out by doing something police-related? I'd also like her season 1 swagger back. She's definitely 'mellowed' is that the right word, not sure, in season 2? I loved when she walked into Shorty's season 1 and just talked pure game to try and get Waverly. I miss that a little. She seemed either angry/pissed off or just totally loved up/puppy eyes in season 2. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see varying sides of a person but where's that cocky arrogance gone from season1?
Waverly
I think Waverly has changed a lot in the last season. As much as I like to see her grow I miss the geeky/innocence of season 1 Waverly. I miss seeing her doing the research and getting excited about the small things. I like that Wynonna and Dolls are starting to train Waverly but hopefully she won't be totally bad ass because I don't think that's her. She's bad ass with her brains and smarts. Random point to note, but what is going on with Waverly's clothes in season 2? They're really quite 'out there' right? I swear from season 1 too 2 (which is like 1 day) her outfits have got more hippy and or very different from season 1. Maybe that's just me, who knows but it confused me a little.
Doc
Doc will have a lot to deal with in season 3 I'm assuming. Becoming 'human' may have him seeing life in a totally different way. Will he be more scared to take part in some missions? I think he'll be conflicted as he'll want to curse to end as quick as possible so he can see his daughter again but at the same time, he's scared of dying.
Dolls
I really want to know about Doll's inner dragon! How did it happen? Was he born that way or did BBD implant it? He was a baby when BBD kidnapped him I think so why? Can he control it? SO many questions and I really need answers!
WayHaught
I hope there's not quite so much drama this season. I mean there was A LOT in season 2 if you look at it timeline wise. I think maybe they need to communicate better? I'd love to see a cutesy date and them working together on something. I think that yes, they will need to have a few disagreements etc but nothing life or relationship threatening please! At least for one season!
General
As a MASSIVE Earp Sisters fan, I am dying to see how Mama Earp will shake things up. I think Waverly will be particularly affected by her return. I do think this may help us get answers about Waverly parentage though which will be nice to finally know. I expect Wynonna and Waverly may have a falling out over Wynonna knowing about their Mother's and not telling Waverly. However I hope it doesn't last all season, my Earp Sister heart couldn't take it!
Bulshar. Now I have no idea where this is going. I assume it may be the 'big bad' of the season? The fact that Nicole and Dolls shared 'a look' about the file may mean something or it could be a red herring and in fact not mean anything at all. Emily and the writers do like to trick us!

Wynonna Earp Season 4 Episode 8 Review: Hell Raisin’ Good Time
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This Wynonna Earp review contains spoilers.
Wynonna Earp Season 4, Episode 8
Oh, to be a fly on the (probably Zoom) wall of the Wynona Earp writers’ room during the brainstorm session about which Halloween costumes each character should wear in this autumnal holiday-themed installment! Reader, they nailed it. Wynonna dresses as feminist hero Britney Spears (compliment of Waverly for both bringing the costume together and knowing that Wynonna would be into it), and Wonder Woman. Doc is bisexual icon Freddie Mercury. And Waverly… well, Waverly is a ladybug and then an angel. It’s all beyond perfect, and epitomizes just how much fun this slasher episode of Wynonna Earp truly is. (Barring the sob story Varun Saranga is strapped with selling, but we’ll get back to that later…) Two episodes, and Wynonna Earp Season 4B continues to be… just an incredibly good time? There is a time and place for Important Television, and Wynonna Earp sometimes ducks into that intersection, but I don’t think we talk enough as a culture about the importance of fun, especially in such dark and draining times. I didn’t know how much I needed more unabashedly fun TV until Wynonna Earp came back into our lives, welcoming us all back to the party. And, friends, more than a year into this pandemic, we are all overdue for a party.
This series has had Buffy the Vampire Slayer in its narrative DNA since the beginning, but never is it more apparent than in these delightful supernatural problem-of-the-week episodes. Last week, it was a love virus. This week, it’s a homicidal scarecrow with the head of a pumpkin, the hands of Freddy Krueger, and the focus of an Olympic athlete. Rotten Jack is his name and he’s been a rural myth in the town of Purgatory since the Earps were little kids, spending Halloween trying to avoid their abusive father. It says a lot about this town and the Earp family that an active supernatural killer on the loose is enough of a regular occurrence that literal angel Waverly attempts to eschew the responsibility of tracking him down because she has plans to hang out with her sister. But it’s hard to judge a grown woman so unabashedly wearing a ladybug costume, especially when she is so devoted to hr big sister. Maybe it’s low-hanging fruit for a reviewer and fan who is best friends with her own sister, but, for all of the other amazing relationships on this show, Wynonna Earp has always had the sibling bond between Wynonna and Waverly at its heart and it’s touching to see that, even when these two can’t remember their own names, they remember the love they have for one another.
Yes, that’s right. Waverly and Wynonna straight-up lose their memories. Wynonna may be able to remember whiskey, but she has no idea what Peacemaker is for. This is all thanks to Casey, who you may remember as Wynonna’s half-demon cellmate in “Look At Them Beans.” When Wynonna and Waverly go to Casey’s trailer, per Jeremy’s BBD instructions, in order to pick up “the extractor,” a necessary item for capturing Rotten Jack, Casey freaks out. He’s gone full conspiracy theorist off-the-grid-er since we last saw him (which, fair enough), and doesn’t want anything to do with BBD. He runs away from The Sisters Earp, leading them into the amnesia-inducing fog that apparently surrounds all of the Ghost River Triangle. What follows is basically a delightful excuse for Melanie Scrofano and Dominique Provost-Chalkley to get silly as Wynonna and Waverly traipse around town, in search of a Halloween party, with no idea that demons or vampires are even a thing or that they are supposed to be all that stands between Rotten Jack and the people of Purgatory.
Meanwhile, Amon has graduated from morally-ambiguous antagonist to straight-up villain. And I’m not just saying that because he tries to use the fact that he had sex with Wynonna to manipulate Doc into doing what he wants. (It doesn’t work.) In an effort to make some serious cash, Amon sets up a betting pool livestream around the identities of Rotten Jack’s victims, pivoting to auctioning off the chance to kill the Earp sisters when the opportunity presents itself. I wish this turn had a bit more nuance—I’ve never really been sure of who Amon is as a character or what Wynonna Earp was trying to do with him—but his commitment to villainy does provide structure for the rest of our characters to rail against. It gives Jeremy a chance to team up with Doc to save Wynonna and Waverly, and gives Doc a few instances to reiterate his commitment to the Earp sisters both through his actions and his words. He and Wynonna may not have worked things out, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t the love of his life.
Jeremy and Robin’s tragic backstory knocked this episode down a half-star for me. While I understand the necessity of recasting a role from time to time, I am 100% of the opinion that I would rather the series act as if they are the same human rather than come up with a face-tearing backstory that is both unnecessarily gruesome and too silly even for this show. We already suspend disbelief when it comes to the existence of vampires, demons, demon-hunters, angels, and Cupids on this show; what’s a little recasting amongst friends? Then again, I have always been willing to lean into a recast. Maybe it’s because I am a Doctor Who fan?
That being said, I am also very invested in the angst when it comes to Jeremy and Robin’s ongoing love story. They obviously still share a connection, even if Robin can’t remember their dating history and currently has a boyfriend who is not Jeremy. I am torn between the pull of the amnesia romance trope and the fact that Jeremy is basically slipping drugs into his ex/co-workers’ support group coffee. On the one hand, my fanfic-reading heart loves a good pining amnesiac exes-to-lovers story; on the other hand, it is deeply problematic that Jeremy isn’t giving Robin the option of taking the serum. Robin is an amnesiac; he’s not a child. (Not that you should drug your children’s coffee, either.)
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Additional thoughts.
Taking bets: do we think Amon is dead or will we see him again?
Everyone loves Doc, and it makes total logical sense.
Wynonna’s “walk of shame” look works better than it has any right to.
R.I.P., random Purgatory residents killed by Rotten Jack. I’m not sure what the town’s population looks like at this point, but the loss of three residents ain’t nothing.
“Can you just let me petty.”
“Are you late for school?” “Whore school?” The line delivery here.
“You’re supposed to be the nice one.”
“They say it’s hilarious, but you’ll never look at Dame Judi Dench again.”
“I already wear a mask everyday.” Still not clear on the logistics of Robin’s new face, but I honestly hope the show never tries to explain it.
Code Orange… for Halloween?
“I just want to go trick or treating.” It’s super interesting that, when Waverly and Wynonna lose their memories, it’s Wynonna who loves Halloween and Waverly who hates it. Presumably, this is how they really feel about the holiday.
Justin Kelly, aka the first Robin, is now on a show called Hudson & Rex, which seems to be a show about a cop and his police dog. (The new Robin is played by Jim Watson.)
“I think your boyfriend might be a cokehead.”
“p.s. Dance like no one’s watching.” Casey’s letter to “Wins and Waves.” <3
“I’m not a hero. A fuck up.” “You can be both.” I love how they just slipped the thesis statement for this show into the dialogue of this episode and hoped nobody would notice.
“Love is the absolute of fear.” “Love has always lightened the load.” If Doc ever needs a side hustle, he should consider motivational life coach. But, really, we need to talk about how sweet talk is one of Doc’s legit superpowers. Between his pep talk to Cleo last week and his pep talk to Casey this week, he’s on a roll.
“She’s my most important thing.” “Gross.”
“You were the best sister I ever had.” “How do I know?” “I know.”
Was this episode the best Wonder Woman movie of 2021? Yes or yep?
Doc helping Waverly off the stage?
“Oh my god, I had sex with Eiman.”
“You’re hilarious. We can’t even get the popcorn machine to work.”
This mind fog is spreading? This isn’t going to be good for the cat cafe…
S’mores!
“You are and have always been my hero.” “It’s easy when you know exactly what you’re fighting for.”
“Mind if I steal her for a minute?” “A minute? Woman, you better make her happy for the rest of her damned life.” Nicole didn’t get a lot of screen this episode, but boy does she make the most of it.
Rotten Jack is played by Kelsey Andries, an actor and stunt performer. She does a very good and creepy job bringing this supernatural horror to life.

DID NO ONE SEE THE RING FALL WHEN MERCEDES DIED??? I see so many people theorizing about "Nicole's ring" but like it's not her ring???? It's the ring that was left behind when Mercedes was shot and turned into those spider things??? Watch the scene again, and when Mercedes dies you can clearly see the ring fall to the ground. Nicole then informed Waverly that Wynonna had asked her to contact Gus and arrange for her to take Alice, but we literally didn't see her after that until way later. Calling wouldn't take that long, and she probably saw the ring on the street when she was walking, knowing it could be useful later. And the look with Dolls? Everyone thinks Nicole is suddenly supernatural and has been sent to keep watch over Waverly because she's looking at Dolls?? Guys, the widows may be gone, but Bulshar is still out there. BBD of course has files on this demon, and now that they're gone Nicole may just be offering her services to help with the demon hunting now. That look didn't seem to me like "I know your secret" it was more "Waverly and Wynonna have been through so much and we need to protect them, but we have to keep them out of harms way, even if that means we put ourselves at risk." We've all seen multiple times that Nicole will die for Waverly with no regrets, and it's pretty clear Dolls feels the same for Wynonna, even if she doesn't feel that way back. (Also so I don't get attacked here I'm not saying she doesn't feel that way, I'm not a WynDolls OR a WynDoc shipper, I prefer Wynonna to just be Wynonna and get herself in a good place before she gets involved in a romance) Emily said in an interview that Nicole has a big storyline next season that's really intense and secretive, so I'm thinking that she will be trying to take on the research with Dolls by herself and do her best to keep Waverly out of harms way. And it seemed like Emily also was saying we might get some more backstory on Nicole, I'm not 100% certain but that's what it seemed like she was saying. Either way, Nicole is a huge part of the show next season and I STG if Kat Barrell isn't in the opening credits I may actually file a lawsuit ☺️🔪

Wynonna Earp Questions I Want Most Answered (UPDATED)
I shall keep a running list of questions throughout the season and I have a feeling it will get extensive. There’s a good chance that there’s gonna be spoilers so everything will be under the cut.
As usual, if you got answers/opinions, leave a message or let’s discuss over at https://discord.gg/yaAdGGT
UPDATED: 02 August 2017, 17:23 EST
From S1
1. Gooverly: Evil or Nah? I’m still NOT completely sure, but The Goo™ wants to have fun (S02E04). Evil, pretty sure. Because how can it be so freakin’ mean to Nicole?!? (S02E05). 2. Is Waverly really an Earp (or will she be a Haught instead **wink**wink**)? 3. Does Waverly tell anyone about her being “not an Earp”? Yes. Nicole :) (S02E02). She sent DNA sample but no confirmation seen yet (S2E08). 4. Where did Peacemaker send Willa? 5. Juan Carlo, what art thou? Who art thou? STILL don’t know but he helped bring Dolls to the Earp Homestead (S02E04). He also has been helping/guiding The Order™ (S02E05). A priest in Purgatory who helped capture the Widows the first time and one of the seal keepers (S2E08). 6. Dolls, what art thou? Some type of human/demon hybrid created by Black Badge (S02E01). He can breathe FIRE!!! (S02E04). Is he a dragon? 7. Who and WHERE is Mama Earp? According to Waverly’s old scrapbooking gone wild board at her old Shorty’s apartment, Mama Earp’s name was Wendy Rosie (Thanks, @cm0999). But where did she run off to?!? 8. So, Constance the Stone Witch is just chilling in the salt flats? She’s coming back isn’t she? NOPE. That little Tucker found the Stone Witch and beheaded her (S2E06). 9. So...the whole “Keeper of the Bones” thing is done right? Because Waverly done destroyed the skull and Constance’s sons are dead-dead? 10. Who did Waverly shoot at? The new creature, Hala, a Bulgarian devourer of souls (S02E01). 11. What will happen to all the revenants now that Bobo is gone? Not at trailer park anymore. They’re all scattered. (S02E02).
Start of S2
12. Will Doc get a new hat? Yes. He stole one :) (S02E04). 13. Wynonna, how are you really feeling? Well, crappy enough that The Goo™ was able to possess her pretty easily (s02E04). 14. Dolls. Are you gonna be okay? Well, he’s breathing out fire. So, yes? (S02E04). 15. So...are Chrissy and Waverly still friends? (Kinda want a Waverly-can’t-help-but-gush-about-her-girlfriend-to-her-friend-who-is-clearly-over-and-tired-of-this-coversation scene) 16. Gus, where art thou? 17. What is up with Black Badge? Are they still doing human experiments? They’re not the totally good guys anymore...are they? So Black Badge Division, Ghost River Triangle branch is no more. According to Moody, it wasn’t even a government agency in the first place (S2E06). 18. Lucado is definitely getting demoted, right? Yup. She’s stuck at Purgatory until they collect every last supernatural entity that entered the Triangle. (S02E02). 19. What does Nicole think about her girlfriend’s new voice? Did she hear Waverly say “At least, not today”? She didn’t know Waverly was possessed, but will shoot anybody for her. Should I find that sweet and adorable? (S02E05). 20. Does Jeremy question how Waverly scared the “devour of souls”? NOPE. As of S2E06, it never came up. Doubt it ever will since Mictian/Mikshun is gone. 21. What did Dolls tell Doc? To create his serum? Not, entirely clear on that, but I think it is (S02E03/4). 22. Does the BBD blood oath/contract come into play later? TBD as of S2E06. 23. When does Nicole get a new uniform and why? (based on S2 pictures) Because she hates khakis and Nedley wants her to be sheriff when he retires. (S2E03). It’s gonna happen on Episode 5, based on promo pictures. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. 24. When does Wynonna find out about Gooverly? S02E04. OH S H I T. 25. Why does Waverly take the bell from the police station? Gooverly is hoarding shiny things. (S2E03). 26. Dementors in Purgatory? Or Willa is somehow back (again)? The two Women in Black were the ones that escaped from BBD when it blew up; Lady Gaga hand. (S2E03). 27. Hellmouth?! Well, some asshole broke through the asshole-of-a-seal (S02E04). Well, there are three seals and two are broken by the Widows/Ladies in Black (S2E06). Keeping Sheriff Clootie locked away (S2E08). 28. Does Doc know where Dolls is? Making preparations to create his meds (w/ Rosita)? No. Doc didn’t know where Dolls was but is working on making his serum. (S2E03). 29. *whispers* Could Nicole be supernatural as well? Because I have theories that I will not get into and I still don’t know how I feel about the possibility of non-human Haught. 30. “I like you”?!? Waverly, what happened to “I love her?”? Everyone is just casually saying that they love each other but WayHaught hasn’t said it to each other (S02E05). 31. Shouldn’t Wynonna know whether or not Waverly is biologically related to her? Because she’s six years older and would remember if Mommy was preggers. Or does she call Waverly “baby girl” because when baby!Waverly came to live with them she didn’t have a name yet and Wynonna being the Earp girl who didn’t hate the new child took care of the baby and (due to lack of name) just called her “baby girl”. Remembers when they brought Waverly home from the hospital (S2E08). 32. When did Doc have time to meet people (i.e. Rosita)? Wasn’t he stuck in a well for like...forever? 33. So...any more future private shows for Officer Haught? I need to know, for science. And, role playing? 34. What came first: the trophy or the Marzaniok? Or did Wynonna just assume that it came from the trophy because Perry never said that it did, just that it came out of the trophy case and that they were pretty high when it happened. 35. Why or what does Rosita need protection from? 36. Why do they need ‘pure’ demon blood to make Dolls’ serum? Apparently, Doc’s blood doesn’t work? 37. What was Lucado’s ‘personal matter’? I’m guessing it’s trying to get back to BBD HQ’s good graces (S02E04). 38. How many times have Waverly ‘gone on patrol’ with Nicole? Just, for science, again. 39. What’s with the random snacks Gooverly?!? IDK but based on a promo, Goononna is worse. We’ll probably never know... (S02E05). 40. Why did Mama and Papa Gardner leave most of their fortune to the town? Yes, they’re rich. But, is that all why the Gardners are a big deal in Purgatory? 41. Because Waverly doesn’t remember when she’s being Gooverly, does Gooverly implant memories when taking over? Because I think Waverly would be concerned if she’s blacking out. Finally acknowledged that she’s missing time (S02E04). 42. “Not in uniform, okay? Not in public.” Will we see more sexy times in uniform in Officer Haught in private? 43. “Not good enough.” Does that mean Waverly just wants to jump Nicole every time she’s in uniform or does Gooverly have a crush on Nicole? Because Gooverly does kinda come in defense of Nicole when Tucker was being his creepy, homophobic self. Fandom things The Goo™ was trying to possess Nicole, but didn’t work. Though, I strongly believe (and it’s my headcanon) that The Goo™ has a crush on Nicole (S02E04). 44. And what is up with Tucker Gardner, Town Pervert? Tucker “wants a girl”. It could either be Waverly or Nicole. I think he wants Nicole because he’s starting to be fixated on her. Thin line between hate and obsession? (S02E04). Why did Nedley compile a confidential file on him? Because Tucker has always been protected by his parents/money and has past criminal behavior (S02E04). 45. Will Wynonna and Nicole be bros again? Wynonna apologized to Nicole (S02E04). They both acknowledge Waverly is being weird but Nicole might think it’s the whole “not being an Earp” because she immediately tells Wynonna she won’t betray Waverly’s trust. But I’m gonna need some bro scenes in the future. 46. Where did Waverly disappear to when the gang went to contain the Marzaniok? Next we see her is in Shorty’s and then at the barn. Even Nicole pointed out, “I thought she was with you”. Must be important if it was mentioned. 47. How did Tucker know where Waverly would be when he cornered her? 48. Was Tucker’s bracelet that Gooverly take important/significant? Probably not important, but the metal was for a DIY lightning rod (S2E05). PS: It looked like a medical bracelet. 49. Will there be no consequence with Wynonna’s wish because it was the demon that made the deal with her and not the other way around? 50. Why did Nedley try so hard to specifically recruit Nicole to work in Purgatory? I double that it was just because she was “top of her class”. 51. “Non-werewolf” citizens? 52. Nedley said “they could use your instincts” to Nicole. So, does Haught-stuff have really good instincts (maybe almost supernatural levels)? She does heal rather quickly....(jfc, these non-human Nicole theories, I’m torn about it). 53. Nicole from the Big City? When will we have more Nicole-backstory? Ooh...Nicole-flashbacks? 54. Why were the Women in Black at the Gardner residence? (and RIP Mercedes?) They STOLE Beth and Mercedes’ faces!! (S02E04). They were attracted to Tucker’s darkness...his “prowess”. ew. 55. Gooverly doesn’t seem to hurt Dolls, based on Dolls being okay in the promo for episode 4? (See Question #1) Well, we don’t know what Gooverly was gonna do with that knife (S02E04). 56. Where’s Nicole’s hat?!? New uniform. New hat, apparently. She now wears a baseball cap (S2E06). Will the stetson make a return appearance though? 57. Why does Wynonna smell Mommy’s perfume around the Women in Black? 58. Doc’s horse, where art thou? (anon asks) 59. Dragon!Dolls?!? According to Wynonna: tiny, sexy dragon (S206). 60. Is Jeremy torn between Doc and Dolls? Will we get a flashback of Dolls helping Jeremy with that one chin-up? What is the connection between Jeremy’s mom and Dolls? 61. Will Tucker go after Nicole? Perhaps. But his obsession with Waverly reached new heights (S2E06). 62. Does Nicole have a gluten and lactose problem and that’s why Waverly is excited about being “this close” to getting that vegetarian restaurant for her girl? Asking, for science. 63. Will anyone tell Nicole about Gooverly? Sorta? They don’t really go into the whole “BTW, Waverly has been possessed for the past few weeks”. I really hope Waverly talks to her about it in future episodes (S02E05). 64. Rosita/Doc, is that gonna be a thing? Confirmed sexual relations (S02E06) but not in a relationship. Lovers (S2E08). 65. Will anyone find Waverly’s hand in Ba-Ding Ba-Ding? Probably not? But now we know you can get The Goo™ by severing it’s host and melting it down (S02E05). 66. What is up with the Purgatory Fair commemorative plate? Is Edwin Earp gonna be relevant this season? Why is it so important? So, it’s important to The Order™ dudes and it had their sigil. This will probably play out in the future and may have connections to the asshole seal (S02E05). 67. GOONONNA?!? Well, that was scary and short-lived. But damn! Goononna is uber mean to Nicole. Can we stop being so mean to Nicole? #StopBeingMeanToNicole2k17 (S02E05). 68. (Based on promo pictures) When/Why/How does Gooverly come back? Plus, Andras had said in an interview, we will see more The Goo™/tentacle powers. Waverly being a self-sacrificial cinnamon roll (S02E05). 69. (Based on promo picture) Is Officer Haught protecting Gooverly in her new outfit?! Does she know?!? Protective!Girlfriend!Haught will still love you and shoot anyone for you (S02E05). 70. What is coming?! Are the Women in Black connected to it? BIG MAYBE. We know the Widows are after the seals and probably will unleash something (S2E06). Widows breaking seal to release their husband Clootie demon (S2E08). 71. Are real!Beth and real!Mercedes just faceless, but alive? Because at least one of the bodies were still wiggling. Safe to assume they’re dead (S2E07). 72. Where in the world did Officer Nicole Haught get a gluten-free, lactose-free pizza in almost-have-a-vegetarian-restaurant Purgatory?!? 73. What’s with The Goo™ hoarding all the metal? Does Nicole get her utensils back? The Goo™ made a lighting rod to fuse more permanently to Waverly. Like...that’s super-extra. Does The Goo™ know you can just order one online? (S02E05). 74. Why was Waverly hit with a tranq dart on her way to band? And bandnerd!Waverly?! Yes. What instrument did she play? 75. Pregnant Wynonna! This is NOT a drill! Who is the father? Everyone pretty much accepted that Doc Holliday is the biological father (S2E06). 76. Goocado. Where did the body go? OFFICIAL: Lucado is RIP (S2E06). 77. How will The Squad™ and The Order™ team up? Isn’t The Order™ just focused on The Goo™? 78. WHAT IS WAVERLY? The Goo teased that she had ‘dark corners’. Somewhat hinted she is part-demon/part-Revenant (S2E07) and the theory is believed by many Earpers. 79. How does Waverly feel about Nicole’s new outfit? She likes it. Very much so. (Based on Purgatory Case Files text) 80. How does Wynonna really feel about Nicole? ‘Queen Brisk of Bossy Town’ (S2E05). Hang out at strip club, Pussy Willows, and talked about effects of The Seven (S2E07). 81. Is Wynonna’s baby okay? Because, yes she’s been drinking and eating rats and has been possessed?!? It has a strong heartbeat and grew during sleeping spell despite the fact that it shouldn’t have done so (S2E06, S2E07). 82. The Plate™, The Women In Black, The Order™, The Asshole Seal™ are they all connected? How are they all connected? The Widows are after the three seals to break it (S2E06, S2E07). 83. WTF Happened to Black Badge? The place is now empty?!? They’re ghosting the Ghost River Triangle and apparently isn’t a government agency, never was (S2E06). 84. When will we see where Nicole lives? I hope it’s not a motel room. 85. And what about Nicole’s cat? 86. Is Wynonna’s pregnancy supernatural/paranormal-related? Is it human? It grew even though it wasn’t supposed to (S2E06). Possibility of baby being half-Revenant (S2E07). 87. The Ghost River Triangle is also called The Sanctuary, what is it actually protecting? 88. What are the (three) seals for? To keep Sheriff Clootie locked away (S2E08). 89. Is Doc now mortal since the Stone Witch is dead? He was shown coughing; he had tuberculosis and the curse ‘stopped’ it (S2E07). Juan Carlo also assumed to be dying from gangrene (S2E08). 90. Is Baby Donut/Earp affected by the curse that was placed on Doc by Constance? Doc might not be the biological father (S2E07). 91. Where is Tucker now? What is he planning? Tucker is MIA (S2E07). 92. Being Hypno’s daughter, is Poppy fully demon or a hybrid? Will she also have time manipulation powers? 93. Jeremy brings up an important point, who is paying The Squad now? Will Waverly need to work at Shorty’s again? 94. Would Doc continue having sex with Rosita? Yes. They’re “Lovers” (S2E08). 95. Will Jeremy and Nicole be gay BFFs? 96. Do the Widows and Constance Clootie share a husband? YES (S2E08). 97. Are the Widows witches? 98. Why does Widow!Mercedes hate Wyatt Earp? Was he the one who killed their husband? 99. The Widows and The Squad are both after Tucker, as a police offer, will Nicole have to protect him from the Widows? 100. With Doc being “I am all in”, how will the Wyndolliday dynamic change? Dolls and Doc are supporting Wynonna/helping her out. They kidnapped a doctor for her (S2E07). 101. Who are the Powers To Be™ in Black Badge Division? 102. Why does Moody say BBD was never a government agency? 103. Is the rumor of a Revenant/Human hybrid baby true? 104. Since Wynonna is moving on and not planning to do genetic testing (based on interview by Emily Andras), will we ever find out who the bio baby daddy is? 105. The Ghost/Phantom Marshals, do they exist to police humans turned supernatural based on treatment of Doc? 106. Are the Phantom Marshals under Black Badge or just regular law enforcement? 107. Is Rosita from Doc’s past? If so, she isn’t a mortal human. What is she? 108. Why did Nicole have to build a temporary shelter in a flood zone? What the hell was her life? 109. Waverly’s origin story? Wynonna remembers when she was brought home from the hospital (S2E08). 110. Based on S2E08 sneak peek, why does Wynonna have trouble remembering her childhood? Waverly may have thought it was Wynonna that pulled her out of the water, but it was really Bobo (S2E08). OR (if the vision quest does affect the timeline), it was Wynonna originally. IDK. Who knows. 111. Based on S2E08 sneak peek, Wynonna says they were going to name her ‘Welcome’ and Waverly said that Wynonna gave her her name. Willa’s diary also mentioned “why does she get the pretty name?”. Because Time Travel is apparently possible based on the sneak peek, did Wynonna give them the name before returning to proper timeline? Wynonna gave the name ‘Waverly’ to Bobo when he asked for his angel’s name (S2E08). 112. How was Dolls able to touch/punch Ghost Marshall Reeves considering he just said he can’t be touched by something in this earthly plane? 113. Did the vision quest change the current timeline? Specifically, will Bobo and Wynonna’s relationship be different now? 114. Will the Clootie demon need to be re-sealed? If so, will the keeper of the seals also have immortality as a side-effect? 115. Is there anything supernatural about the Purgatory Sheriff’s Department? 116. Who tasked The Order to protect the Triangle from demons? 117. How does Ewan know about BBD? 118. What makes Wynonna special/different from past Earp heirs? 119. How did the Widows end up with Black Badge? 120. Why is Bobo the only revenant back? 121. Wayhaught angst. It’s not a question. Jk. Would they finally have a serious talk about protecting each other? Also, Nicole backstory needed...so much. 122. Earp baby’s accelerated growth. Why? 123. Will Bobo’s obsession/relationship with Willa come up again? 124. While dying, Robert Svane says “...I’ve caught glimpses of you my entire life”. Hallucinating (because, you know, dying) or Wynonna goes on future vision quests? 125. Robert rang the bell in the past/vision quest. Why did it happen in the present?

@not-just-a-ship-an-armada Exactly. Like she kind of got Tucker (but that was with Nedley) and now that's totally gonna be BBD. Also rewatching some of season 1 and when Doc is leaving and he gets the speeding ticket when Nicole asks him for licence and registration he replies, "Officer Haught, it's me. You know I have neither of those things." Which implies they'd talked before/ she knew who he was before the end of the season where he reveals everything.
So basically what I’m going for is there is a definite Nicole/Doc brOTP that’s not shown in the canon but totally should be.
But still we need Nicole’s backstory and a friend who is not part of all the Earp and supernatural shenanigans.
You know what makes me sad about Nicole. As much as it is great that Nicole would know that Waves would be the person at her door to come at that hour. I somehow get the feeling though, that, thats the only person she expects to come over to her house. Probably only her and maybe Nedley. This is what really tugged at my heart strings last night. She is such a lovely person but yet still so alone.
