He's a new priest in town, looking completely different to the old, smelly man who used to previously occupy the church, kind of edgy with the tattoo poking from the high collar of his cloak. And he's pretty young too. Most people would mistake him for one of those skater boys, the type that is pretty much despised in the small, catholic town, but he has to be respected, of course.

Upon attending the first Sunday church under his directing, you discover how soft spoken he is, and you could listen to him recite from the bible for hours. When you're leaving the church, the two of you lock eyes, and it's as if sparks fly between the two of you, even over the entirety of the building. Your mother ushers you out, still slightly suspicious of this whole church re-arrangement.

You're hard to discourage, though, and decide to ditch working at the market one day just to go spy on the man. Not in the traditional way, though, as you don't want to risk falling into some deep shit.

The giant door creaks as you enter the church. Empty. Your boots echo in the empty space as you call out a soft "Hello?"

He appears soon after, dressed a bit more casually in simple shirt and pants - both black - the top button of his shirt undone, allowing you to get a better glimpse of the tattoo on the side of his neck.

"Good morning, dear," he speaks as calmly as ever, offers you a soft smile too. For moment, he doesn't even look like a priest, just like a normal thirty-something guy you could meet every day. "How may I assist you?"

Oh, dear, he could assist you in many ways, but none of them are compatible with what the God says. You gulp, slowly closing the distance between the two of you, and it almost feels like the walls of the church are closing around you with each step you take, suffocating you, screaming get out, get out!

"I- I was just wondering... I wanted to see you," mentally, you curse yourself for giving him such a stupid answer.

A smile finds its way on his handsome face, his sharp canines shining like stars as he steps closer, tilting his head to the side in question. "See me? Are you hoping for an advice or a confession?"

Yeah, you'd probably need to confess a lot of things. But you shake your head, glancing down at your shoes in shame as a light layer of blush paints your cheeks. Hopefully, he can't see that.

"No, no. I was just - I guess - curious," you admit, and then you think you hear him chuckle.

"What could possibly make you curious about me, dear girl?"

Good question. Perhaps it's that kind smile and honest expression, completely contrasting with the perverse face of the catholic church, or the genuine worry and care he has for every single of the visitors. Or, it could he the devilish hint of something unacceptable, something that all the mothers roll their eyes about, because a priest can't have a tattoo.

"A lot of things, actually," you shrug, looking up at him once again, "You're sort of a phenomenon, here."

Patrick throws his head back with a laugh, crossing arms over his chest casually. God, is he beautiful. "I've noticed. Do you think I'm one as well?"

"Perhaps. You don't meet a priest like yourself every day," you offer some hint of a compliment with a gentle chuckle, feeling as if you're just making yourself look worse and worse.

But he doesn't think that. On the contrary, he thinks you're the most real creature that has entered this church so far. Completely honest and delicately yourself, not bothering to hide behind your belief, that might not be as serious as his. And he respects that, as long as you respect God.

"I'm going to take that as a compliment, darling," fuck, the nickname makes your head spin.
