Sinbad. This man. Ohhh my god he's SO EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO ME IN EVERY WAY and if you read Magi you will later understand why he's such an important and well written character. As time goes on through the story we seem to learn a fuckton more about them all, but Sinbad is what gets to me the most.

He is quite literally one of the most selfish, selfless men there is and it's hilariously wild to me. This fucker has the voice of David (a previous entity from a world that existed before theirs iykyk) and essentially this dude is evil and trying to use Sinbad.

Sinbad is so stubborn and egotistical that not only does he reject going back through to the rukh (with David's help ofc) but he fucking. He just doesn't listen all that much, although he talks to David quite a bit. I haven't finished reading the manga fully, I still have around ~30 chapters to go, but Sinbad is just so special to me!!

He's just a silly guy who loves his friends and helping people. He's also got some huge ass pride he needs to deal with smh. He's a cunning businessman and I LOVE HIM!!! Deep down he's sweet and cares deeply for his friends, people, everybody. He just been led down an odd path that seems different from everybody else's even if they all want to achieve pretty much the same goal or similar. Also his and Alibaba's relationship is so important to me IT'S SO GOOD. I love them your honor

So, final note about this!

It successfully did what Genshin couldn't; successfully represent a bunch of different people, nations, and cultures that all connect to one bigger picture with interesting and wonderful characters. Also, it's extremely humanizing of the lower classes and hits a lot of big issues really well. You will cry at least 3 times. SO GOOD!! It's based off of Arabian Nights but it has such a beautiful twist on it, and the FASHION and all the religious references!!!!!!!! PLS READ/WATCH IT 😭💙

DPXDC Idea: Mother of Monsters Dan(yal)

Specifically Fem!Dan because I made this in mind with my Fem Danyal Au bUT. The best part about Dan is that I get to play dress up with her, and Fem Dark Dany is gonna go by Layal (pronounced lae-el) because it means "the nights" and it sounds similar to Danyal, and I think she'd choose that name to mock Dany. ANYWAYS

Mother of Monsters Danyal. She may be evil but she's an Al Ghul at her core (even with vlad's soul merged with hers - however, considering that Layal looks and sounds like Dany, she considers that soul to be the more dominant one.) and loves animals. And she might be heartless, but she adores the monsters of the infinite realms.

Mother of Monsters Layal who hates everyone but utterly dotes and adores on every manner of beast she comes across. Stealing the eggs and infant young beasts of the Infinite Realms to raise as her own because she wanted them. Her own island full of monsters, a monstrous menagerie of her own. She steals most often from poachers or exotic pet keepers and other menageries -- the full grown beasties can keep their young.

And with every monster she raises, she can shapeshift their features onto herself, allowing her to change her shape from humanish to any matter of monster or hybrid creature. She calls herself their mother, and them her children. Her precious little babies, capable of incredible mass destruction and mayhem.

From little griffins the size of kittens, to stymphalian vulture chicks, and leviathan young hatching from eggs the size of her pinkie, to creatures native of the ghost zone that didn't even have names in the living realm. There really wasn't a limit to what or who she would take in and she didn't limit herself to any form of mythology. If they were beasts and they were unwanted, she wanted them. And as such, amassed her own mini army of "children" willing to listen to her any command.

Earth doesn't know what hit it when she attacks them.

There are many monstrous forms she could take on, the first one I've thought of is a combination of various serpentine/reptilian features. The body of a naga -- her lower half long and serpentine, her upper still human -- with spiked fins connecting from the bottom of her arms to her sides, ever seen Sinbad where Eris goes "you might have seen my likeness on the temple walls" and her arms do that fin thingy? Same concept. Her hands are webbed and taloned, perfect for slicing through the skin of the living, and her teeth are needle-sharp and shark like. Her hair can either be spiny and feathery-like like the spines of a lionfish, or frilled like a frilled-neck lizard. It's perfect for dealing and doting on her reptilian and amphibian-inclined darlings.

I'm more of a fan of aus where Dan is a sibling of Danny's rather than their kid, so Layal's redemption(..?? probation?) proceeds with her legally becoming Danyal's "twin" sister, who had been lost to the foster system before the Fentons adopted Dany, and was only recently reunited with her. The two of them look so alike that the lie is easy to take root and spread.

Layal is very indignant to the fact that she's now ten years in the past and has to restart her menagerie all over again. Do you know how much blood and sweat went into raising those children? How dare you separate them from their mummy. Although she'll admit she does miss their juvenile years, so she won't mind (too much) needing to raising them again. Dany is helping her retrieve all of them though, dammit.

long story short: epic the musical's "Scylla" has a CHOKEHOLD on me and this is the result of it

Unlike her Dan counterpart, Layal's voice is dancing and sirenic. It's purposely alluring and motherly, in order to lure people into a false sense of security until she feeds them to her "children." Echidna doesn't have shit on her. She almost seems friendly and reasonable, until you get too close and realize it was all an act and she drops it to metaphorically swallow you whole. She's like an anglerfish that way. She and Dany both sound like Scylla from Epic.

In addition to his borderline unfaithfulness, there was also his questionable morals and the things he did to get what he wanted. All of it always rubbed you the wrong way but you fought to love him anyway.

But as we all know, ine can only fight for so long.

All of it kept adding up and and you found yourself bothe sat at the kitchen table. You slide him a paper - a divorce settlement document.

He tried to give you excuses and promised he would change but you were set, there's no way you'd lock yourself in a toxic cycle of wrong-doing, excises, and forgivness forever.

You went on with your life like nothing happend

Of course it still stung to part from the man you loved oh so much but you had to move on.

Magic x crossover reader fanfic idea!

So what if our dear reader was a Pokémon trainer who just started on her journey but ended up getting teleported into the magi world when Sinbad was a teen (you’ll have a Pokémon with you but it’ll be a baby pokemon when you first enter the magi world and the pokemon will also be your ace of your team in the future), after spending some time with him she started growing feelings for him but she was also feeling homesick so when she found a way back home she took it after leaving a note and gift for Sinbad when he comes back from the dungeon and as well as give his mother a gift before leaving and after returning she spent all of her time on her journey before becoming champions to a few regions while journeying, though one day she gets teleported back into the magi world this time close to when Aladdin starts his journey so she decided to join him and even met some new people that soon became her friends along with meeting Sinbad again while traveling with the young magi.

I hope you like this idea, it’s honestly the more thought out crossover reader idea I have so far for magi so I hope y’all like it 😁.

Also the gender might change in due time when this is in the making and published (which too be honest might be soon since I like the idea more than the others lol) so the reader might be male in the book than the pronouns I use in the idea here as I would love to finally make a male x male!reader book, this doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to be male!reader though as I might keep it female!reader.

I sadly hardly see that many interesting magi stories for x reader that isn’t a oneshot (there is so many of them I could hardly find any x reader fanfic 😭) also I’ve been meaning to make a book for this fandom for so so long but the drafted books in the past for them always ended up getting deleted because I just couldn’t get behind them anymore so hopefully this isn’t like them as I would like to finally make a magi fanfic of my own.

Oh! I might do some if not all characters to turn yandere it honestly depends on the character and if I feel like making some if not all characters yandere.

Irene Attolia: Irene Papas

Sadly, this awesome actress died in 2022. She was Greek and played in "The Trojan Women" as well as "Iphigenia" - so, you know, she has the ideal Greek Aristocratic face. Isn't she the perfect Attolia?

Sophos - Christian Martyn

How I found this actor, I don't know. I am not familiar with him, though he played Gilbert Blythe in "Anne with an E". Look. LOOK. Bear with me. He seems innocent, is the definition of too Nice™ and has this precious aura of childlike chaos about him. But he is also able to glow up into a warrior when necessary O_O

Helen Eddis: Nathalie Emmanuel

Okay, look. While I'm personally highly satisfied with the above casts, I know full and well that this one isn't perfect. First of all, Emmanuel is far too thin and pretty to be Eddis. They'd have to change her nose at least, if not give her a rounder body type. But she is dark-skinned, her hair is short, her smile is fun and captivating, and I think this does reflect who Eddis is to some degree. I'm sorry I didn't find anything more accurate.

To comfort you, here are some more random character casts that I found/came up with while working on the others:

King of Sounis - Jack Black

Nahuseresh - Dev Patel. Imagine the reddish beard oh my gosh

Kamet - Riz Ahmed (that one was the author's choice, I believe)

Ambiades - Austin North. Like, come on. He's gotta be the evil version of Sophos and he would be perfect.

Costis - he's honestly just that one real life Kristoff edit from Frozen. No, he's really Channing Tatum in "The Eagle". Look him up.

As for what would happen if The Queen's Thief Series got turned into a movie, I would SCREAM YELL CRY HAPPY TEARS.

They could turn the 6 books into 3 movies, I believe.

The Thief & The Queen of Attolia (the story would have to be slightly changed, e.g. older Gen and different politics, but they can really pull together the whole 125 pages of travelling to the temple into a 5min montage)

The King of Attolia & A Conspiracy of Kings (how Costis became King isn't as important, but it could serve as a sideplot/what Gen is actually contributing politically behind the facade)

Thick as Thieves and Return of the Thief (again, how Kamet came to Attolia isn't as important as the message he brought.)

The Queen's Thief reminds me much of Narnia (the world, the values, the fashion, the colors), Percy Jackson (adventure Greek setting), and Sinbad (adventure + navigating the Gods). If they ever turned that into a movie, I'D WATCH THE HECK OUT OF IT.

I've been watching Magi again to destress for a bit. Watching Sinbad's introduction, which I won't go into again on how much I love it, I said "fuck you" at least 50 times. Despite my best efforts, I also couldn't stop smiling or laughing.

is supernatural genre a fandom? that's #1 for me lol, so many extremely cool OCs in there

Hotline Miami / Payday were both tiny tiny fandoms even when I wrote there years ago, but they were fun while they lasted, crime genre in general is very fun especially mixed with supernatural

Pokemon can be really fun depending on the crowd, I really like Pokemon rp that's geared in a more grown-up direction. the world has so much to explore that running ye olde Kids Training For The Pokemon League thing is awfully stale for me lol

puts my hands on the cyberpunk genre glass. I get that 2077 attracted so many people to the genre but I wish it didn't dominate the rpc so much. generic cyberpunk flavored universes that kinda mesh everything together are the best. more cyberpunk ocs that aren't based in 2077 pls.

Star Wars is great when u can find the right people! some very chill & very dedicated writers floatin around in there. there's SO MUCH to explore in SW I wish more people would branch out from canon stuff tbh.

overwhelmingly male fjdsklghj I have some fem ocs I've written before but I generally just don't take to them like I do male charas. something about men is so. clenches my fist. idk they have a particular flavor of Mess that rly captivates me.

other people are much better at writing fem charas than me LOL so I find it much more interesting to engage with fem charas than to write them myself. I will say I wrote Eris from Sinbad for a spell and it was some of the best writing I've ever done fkdjlsghf I love her sm;; so maybe my fem ocs just weren't the right flavor for me to write well. I think if I ever dig into making ocs again, exploring more nb charas could be fun too.

Tbh, I don't think it evolved? I've always read it as Alibaba not mastering it fully, actually. I mean, most DE's cover the body better, and later naturally transform into Full-Body DEs. So, basically, it wasn't until that moment that he actually reached Weapon Djinn Equip.

Jokes aside, yeah, dude's not wrong. Alibaba might be nothing special compared to behemots like Sinbad or Kouen, but he's got an ungodly amount of willpower when push comes to shove, and is smart enought to maneuver himself in difficult situations. Tho the fact that he seems so unremarkable is also to his benefit, since people tend to underestimate him.

But Al-Thamen doesn't. It makes sense for them - they've been running the world from the shadows for hundreds of years. They know that just because somebody might not look like they can amount to much, doesn't mean they aren't capable of it. And Alibaba's given them the proof of it. He went not only against fate they'd envisioned, but also against the one Sinbad had. He is a threat-in-making.

Well, yeah, the situation really fucking sucks. I've said it before & I'm saying it again, I like how Alibaba isn't fucking fooling himself into believing he can do this... but at the same time, he doesn't give up. He has to do this, somehow. He just doesn't know how yet. And it's well in line with his characterization, just like his talk with Cassim about avoiding bloodshed. He doesn't know yet, but he will figure something out. There's too much to lose if he doesn't.

I mean, yeah, somebody had to handle this.

Listen, @jhalya​, the struggle to pick just 10 took me FOREVER. But, here we go, 10 of my favourite movies in no particular order!

1. High Society. Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, and Bing Crosby? Sign me up.

2. St. Elmo’s Fire. An unpopular opinion, I’m sure, but it’s far superior to Breakfast Club. I said what I said.

3. Megamind. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve seen this. It’s a lot.

4. Mr Right. I’m going to say this is my go-to comfort movie. It’s absolutely ridiculous in the best ways.

5. Just Friends. Pre-Deadpool Ryan Reynolds and an unhinged Anna Faris. Probably the only Christmas rom-com I’ll rewatch over and over and over again.

6. Safety Not Guaranteed. I went through a time in my life where I watched this every day and I’m pretty sure my top song that year was Big Machine from this scene.

7. Short Term 12. The first time I watched this I cried so hard I threw up. And every time I’ve watched it since, I just sit there and sob my way through it. If I need a good cry, this is one of my top choices.

8. Grand Budapest Hotel. I saw this 3 times in the theatre. And I would’ve seen it a couple more times, but I was a broke university student who had to decide between movies and ramen food.

9. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. It has everything I love and want in a movie.

10. Sinbad. This is another movie that I went through a phase where it’s the only thing I would watch (I have a bunch of movies like this, but this one just happens to be at top-of-mind because I recently saw a cosplayer dress up as Eris and I died).

And I actually have 4 so... Here we go!

Treasure Planet. So underrated, which is totally unfair. Beautiful story and one of the few (if not only) Disney movies that don't have a love interest for the MC. It's all about growing up and finding yourself and found family. In fact, just realized, Jim is like Stag in that regard. Both were abandoned at a young age by their fathers and became rebellious to the point of being impossible to deal with until their father figure came into their life. And also, never having a father of my own to look up to, this really resonates with me. Haha, Deshi's dad left him at a young age too. I'm sensing a theme. 😆 Unlike Stag though, Deshi doesn't need a father figure in the sense that he's not looking for one nor does he find one. (Although Lord Carroll does get close...)

Sinbad, another underrated film. By Dreamworks this time. The most alluring part of this film:

That fucking hair!!! Man, I could just watch how her hair flows forever. Like, nobody has ever made hair that moves like this before, or since! It's close to underwater hair, but not quite, so Little Mermaid doesn't count. But seriously, that fucking hair. And Sinbad is pretty funny. 😆 Most quoted scene between Deo and I, a dude gets thrown up by a sea monster, shakes it off, and goes to attack again. "Give that guy a raise." -Sinbad Yes, please. He deserves it. 😀👍

Anastasia. I loved this movie growing up. Rasputin what such a terrifying bad guy, and Anastasia was anything but weak. Despite it not being a Disney flick at the time, it broke the mold on Disney princesses. Tangled and Frozen hadn't come out yet and Anastasia was the only princess to do what she wants, when she wants, how she wants. Instead of the man saving her from some evil villain, he saves her in the very beginning from a threat to the royal family. And then she saves herself from Rasputin at the end. Well, and Dimitri, because, you know, he was hanging off a bridge. So many movies before this were misogynistic and so many after are so feminist that they really diss on males, but in Anastasia, they are equals simply facing the world together, and to me, that's just beautiful. Adventure 17 DreamWorks guys: proteus from Sinbad: the legend of the seven seas x my OC Jacqulyn.

Hey people I am officially putting DreamWorks guys into this I mean some DreamWorks guys like the old-fashioned ones so Shrek puss in Boots or any DreamWorks animals are out that includes trolls sorry not sorry anyway please do not repost or copyright without my permission do not forget to request and enjoy.

(damn he's so fine why DreamWorks why make the men in DreamWorks so fine back then The writers knew what they were doing I mean just look at him he's so fine I still have a crush on him also in the story are the aftermaths of what happened) AS Jacqulyn woke up she realized she was in a bed that's when Sarah walked in the room, Jacqulyn ask Sarah where did they both teleported too when Sarah told her that they are in the DreamWorks universe Jacqulyn was surprised and also very curious on what DreamWorks movie they were in when she asked Sarah her question Sarah answered by telling her, that they are both in the Sinbad movie the aftermath of what happened in the movie Jacqulyn was very surprised and very happy she had a crush on Prince proteus since she was a little girl and now she gets to meet him which furthers up the question where exactly was she when Jacqulyn asked Sarah where she was Sarah answered her by telling her she is in the castle she then told Jcaqulyn , that Sarah knew proteus's father and that her and the King were both good friends and that Sarah told her friend about the mission which was sweet relief for Jacqulyn. A few hours later Jacqulyn was walking in the Halls when suddenly she accidentally bumped into someone it was proteus when he looked at her his hearts get the beat he has never met someone that was so beautiful his father of course told him about her, when he snapped out of it he helped her up they both apologize to each other and decide to have a conversation to get to know each other, by the time they got done they decided to have another conversation through dinner, and the conversations continued throughout the weekend and months until proteus and Jacqulyn decided to get married and spend their honeymoon together. Jacqulyn loved being married to proteus the times she has spent with him or amazing they made love they had wonderful conversations with each other they even ate breakfast together, so when it was time for her to leave she said her goodbyes to him he understood that it was just a mission but the times he has spent with her were amazing when Sarah opened the portal and took Jacqulyn to the next adventure proteus made a promise to himself that he would find her again and they would live happily ever after the end

My Magi LGBTQIA+ Headcanons

Ok, I've been working on this list since January. I still probably forgot some. I haven't worked out all my SnB ones yet and about half the Rens. It takes me an inordinate amount of time to sort them out. The only ones I'm really set on are the aspec ones because I'm biased (that's me, I'm AA and proud).

All that to say I may update this list or do a second part. Most likely won't be for a while since I'd want to to add a good chunk before I commit more to the wild.

Also, if you disagree, that's cool. My list though~ I love hearing other people's hcs but I am not up to arguing over mine. I know you guys are chill but to ensure we are on the same page :)

Leila and Sahsa: You can't tell me the manga didn't start off with a lesbian love story with a little shit child playing mediator.

Judar: He very gay.

Aladdin: Genderfluid. I just like the idea of him having everyone constantly guessing as a child of chaos. They're also vying to take that title from Judar. I also can't place who the kid will be interested in but none of his friends are around the same age.

Titus: Trans gay guy.

Yunan: Doesn't really have much attachment to gender. He wouldn't really describe it as a lack of gender yet won't turn down using agender. Gender neutrois also works. Uses any pronouns.

Scheherazade: Cupiosexual. She yearns for being able to have sexual attraction but it just never has occurred for her. After a few decades she had accepted it about herself. The most common form of attraction she feels is alterous attraction (often explained as the space between romantic and platonic attraction).

Hakuryuu: He has messy chemistry with everyone. Bi disaster through and through.

Morgiana: Ace and questioning. She hasn't figured it all out yet but her friends are there to support her. (hi, yes, this is me projecting weeee)

Alibaba: Bisexual and clueless. So if you ask, he won't be able to answer but he also picked up on Sinbad's natural ability to flirt with anybody without trying too hard.

Hakuei: Lesbian

Koumei: Bisexual. I mentioned with the art I made on my own blog that I designed Koumei around the bi colors without realizing it. Nothing in my mind has changed to refute that so that's what I'm still going with. I do think it fits him.

Sphintus: Gay. I can see him being biromantic as well, but mostly into guys.

Sinbad: Pansexual and greyromantic. I won't go into it again more here. He's the best most clueless and suave person ever.

Jafar: Homoromantic demisexual. He likes guys but also without any strong connection to go off of he doesn't really register how people can be attractive.

Drakon: Omnisexual. There's attraction to guys, women, and enbies, all slightly different to each other. Preference for women.

Mystras: Also very gay.

Pisti: Aegoromantic. She gets invested in other people's (mainly her friends') love lives, and loves love stories, but whenever she tries getting into a relationship it never sits right for her. She won't mind an intimate relationship though knows it won't be romantic (after a bit of denial). After my brain came up with this I started projecting like hell and I don't give a fuck XD.

Mu: Mspec of some variety. I don't think he will be bothered by either bi or pan. Queer will work just as well. He will be down for anyone, you know? Going off queer history circles I've seen conversations and jokes that no one in Ancient Rome is monosexual. Mu feels like the person it will apply to the most. I'm going with it.

I joked to myself that the majority on Alma Toran are mspec or aspec. With longer lifespans for humans, a good handful are aspec because of the lack of incentive to have kids or families quickly. I would have posted about it last year during my Alma Toran posting in October and during ace week, but alas. I'm now posting it here lol.

Anyway, my Alma Toran hcs:

Solomon: Demisexual. Hasn't spent time thinking about it because he didn't expect to marry so young. It doesn't bother him though, not that he could explain his sexuality well.

Setta: Aroace. All ice mages are aroace because I said so. (except Judar, dude can have as many guys as he wants)

Isnan: Gay

Falan: Bi. Growing up she didn't have the chance to explore her sexuality. She won't deny it if asked though is perfectly happy in her relationship.

Ugo: Bi and aceflux.

Paimon: Also bi. She flirts too much with Ugo not to be (though I do know some lesbians and non-interested in men peeps who flirt with guys for shits and giggles without much feeling. Poison Ivy being the main lesbian I think of for this).

Arba: Non-sam aro. I tried to figure out her sexuality and I know it's not ace, but it's still too wrapped up in being aromantic. Non-sam is the closest I could figure.

Tess: Demiboy. The idea just burrowed into my head and hasn't left so I'm going with it. He is fine with he/they pronouns, yet the only people allowed to get away with calling him little boy are his parents.

That's all I got. For the moment, at least. If I try to figure everyone out I won't get around to finishing this till pride next year. If ever >>. As I said, I may update the list or post a second part.
