Random 3am thought:

Does Ansem need to eat or sleep to survive? Probably not given he's a heartless.

But follow up thought: when Riku took Ansem's form, did he need to eat or sleep? If he doesn't, imagine him trying to lie down to sleep cause that's what his mind is used to. But Riku just- doesn't sleep. So he stares into the void all night. And food just doesn't taste right anymore. Angst insues~

On a funnier note, if Riku does, I like the idea of Ansem complaining about now feeling tired and hungry when he never did before.

*foxes glasses* ok so, obviously when he was just an incorporeal Heartless he didn't need such things, but the moment he indwelled Riku he probably felt hunger for the first time through him! I think he probably felt tiredness as well but his dark power made Riku stronger and helped him push through, although he probably still slept even if just for a few hours...

On the other hand when Riku took on Ansem's form I think he still needed to perform regular human functions, maybe he felt less of an urge tho? Like only a few bites and a few hours could get him through the days? Because it was still HIS body but it was entangled with Ansem's so they "met in the middle" probably.

Lastly, in KH3 Ansem HAD to be indwelling a replica cause, again, he had no physical form before getting inside Riku (lol) and in the same game we CLEARLY SEE Repliku being perceived solely by Riku (when they were talking on the beach and the others were only able to see or hear Riku) because he had no physical body AND YET WE SEE ANSEM GOING AROUND AND OTHERS SEEING HIM AS WELL so he HAD to be inside a replica and we KNOW that replica need to eat and sleep like every other regular human because XION EXISTS AND WE SAW HER EATING AND SLEEPING!

My point is that Ansem, prior to KH3, only knew about hunger and tiredness THROUGH Riku, but after getting his own body he got to experience those for himself and BOY OH BOY DID THAT HAD TO BE SOMETHING! And that perfectly aligns with what you said at the end, Ansem would be SO annoyed at these normal human things xD oh I can see him being SO anal about tastes in food, he totally learns how to cook 5 Michelin Star meals and would HATE greasy and sugary foods. In regards to sleeping I think he would try to push himself at first, fighting against this sudden need to lie down and? Relax? Be vulnerable?? Do nothing??? Absurd. But as he learnt the hard way what not sleeping does to the mind and body I can see him do a 180⁰ flip and be one of those" early sleeper early riser" people to be "more productive".
