thinking about like... more supernatural aus/verses for chuuya and verlaine-
I know stormbringer seems to kind of want to establish the singularities of arahabaki and guivre as a more scientific thing, and less as actual gods, but i prefer to interpret them (even in my main verses) as supernatural because i just find that more fun. BUT. what if we took that further.
i'd love to work the time travel verse concept in there somewhere, like chuuya and verlaine are able to loop through time because of their nature as supernatural beings/vessels of supernatural beings (depending on your preferred interpretation)... but i also have a separate really bizarre au in mind that's kind of like. both chuuya and verlaine existing in two places at the same time?? i'll elaborate under the cut-
on one level they exist as humans in the real world, living normally; basically the "human" versions of the characters we know - with these versions of them being unaware of their "other" selves. and their other selves exist on a separate plane of existence sort of, like a layer above the real world in a sense, and they also ARE arahabaki and guivre in a literal sense. like...
i'm coming up with this on the spot as i type so bear with me - focusing on verlaine here since i'm posting on my multi. canonically verlaine is supposedly a combination of a singularity (which iirc AND I MAY NOT is the result of contradictory abilities interacting?? i didn't fully understand it WHOOPS) and an artificial personality that kind of "tricks" the singularity into believing it's attached to a human. but in this specific au, the artifical personality is "normal"/"human" verlaine, while the singularity guivre is ALSO verlaine, just a "separate version" of him that exists on a higher plane.
by reciting the right words and opening the gate, human!verlaine can give his guivre self access to the real world, though in the process he becomes a being of pure hatred/destruction, because in normal circumstances, a human body can't really "process" the kind of thinking that guivre has. the combination of non-supernatural human mind/body + supernatural causes things to go wrong pretty much.
but at the same time (and this is where the verse starts really straying from canon lol), when not being "channeled" in this way, guivre still exists on that other plane and is still aware of what's going on in the real world, kind of from the outside looking in?? it's also possible that he's able to influence the real world in some way, not sure how yet. there IS a way, too, for these two versions of verlaine to "become one" WITHOUT triggering the mindless/destructive state, and if that were to happen, it'd basically be like the human verlaine would regain the memories of his experiences as "guivre" and would gain a shitton of supernatural power as well. but no characters know how to do that yet.
of course canonically after guivre was defeated in stormbringer, the singularity is "destroyed" and has to be replaced by rimbaud's illuminations in order to let verlaine live. in this au/verse, though, it turns out it wasn't actually "destroyed" like it seemed, but it WAS separated from him, so the human!verlaine and guivre!verlaine are now no longer connected to each other bodily wise, which probably creates some level of discomfort/identity confusion/dysphoria in the human verlaine... again, it probably is possible to connect them together once more though.
i read this over like three times and i can't tell but i suspect that it makes literally no sense and comes across as nonsense lmao....... on the off-chance that anyone's interested/wants to understand what i'm getting at but i'm not making sense here, let me know and i'll try and explain it better!!
#ooc#I JUST WANT AN EXCUSE TO RAMBLE ABOUT MY STUPID VERSE CONCEPTS akfhjdssdjks#but really i would love to rp this. chuuya could be the same as verlaine OR totally different since technically he and verlaine didn't like#come to exist in exactly the same way...#does this make even 10% of some kind of sense. please help me :'))
