It irritates me alot when people say that making medic more compassionate is ''missing the point of his character'' when he is literally shown to be in the comics.... did you miss the part where he showed concern for both sniper and miss pauling's well being in comic 5 and 6.

His actions are a combination of genuine attachment + clinical interest and these things do not cancel out one another. He is always pushing boundaries and going against the grain and i think this is what led to him losing his license in the first place. He felt stifled by the rules imposed on him.

He is shown to be extremely passionate so it makes sense that he would use his endless fascination with medicine as a way to show his affection. He loves his friends so he will find a way to make them borderline indestructible. Malpractice is his love language.

Can we talk about how Kadar says to Altaïr in the beginning: "An excellent kill! Fortune favors your blade!", and then in the bureau with Malik, before Altaïr goes to meet "Robert", Malik says to him "Fortune favor your blade, brother."

And then THAT is what prompts Altaïr to actually finally apologize to him?

(It's these little things in the writing that make me go feral! Another one of my favorite parts is Altaïr and Malik calling each other "Dai" - Altaïr first calls Malik Dai before doing investigations during the Majd Addin mission, showing his character growth in how he's willing to humble himself in front of Malik by basically acknowledging him as a superior of sorts (he's even THANKING him here for his help - compare this to "I am your superior, in both title and ability! You should know better than to question me!"), and then when they last talk before Altaïr goes to confront Al Mualim, Malik calls HIM Dai, in turn acknowledging his growth 😭 I just... I love them so much, I don't even know what to do with myself anymore.)

Thinking about how most of the times we see Kol in tvd he's acting as errand boy for his siblings, starting with Rebekah asking him to kill Matt at the ball. If he cared solely about killing someone to spit in the face of Esther's rules he could have killed anyone else after Rebekah changed the plan. The second time, he's in Denver with Jeremy and texts Klaus to let him know if there's anything else his brother needs from him. And later Klaus calls on him to use his presence with Jeremy to threaten Bonnie into undoing the linking spell. Then he's there again to kill Mary when he finds out from Klaus that the mfg are trying figure out who they're sired from after breaking his cover in Denver. He's not even in series 4 up until Rebekah gets undaggered and suddenly he's there to retrieve the professor for her

I just think it's interesting that he's characterised as the volatile and reckless sibling and in the originals we learn that he constantly feels like an outsider in his own family with Klaus, Rebekah and Elijah making up their own little trio with Finn daggered. And yet anytime they need something he's there, almost as though he's still desperately trying to endear himself to them until he inevitably lashes out and gets daggered for it, his efforts constantly unappreciated. The only time he asks them for a favour that I can recall is when he swears Rebekah to secrecy about the dagger he's working on against Klaus only for her to tattle and get him daggered

I'm thinking about something in part 5 that either I wasn't paying close attention to or wasn't well conveyed (or both lol) but I find fascinating with regards Saki

After you encounter the first fake Floramon, the second encounter (? I think) will have Saki greet her rather casually like she didn't just get tricked, and then we get that bit where Fake Floramon is like "You're wide open" and attacks her, but Labramon and Agumon protect Saki. Fake Floramon acts like this is surprising and escapes, which feels strange since as players we can see the sprites of all the present characters from the start of the scene lol But upon talking after the fact, Saki talks about how she agreed to be the bait for them, so this actually makes sense of both her apparent nonchalant dialogue and the fact Labramon and Agumon came as a surprise to the fake.

Now, I actually find this really interesting because in Saki's Wrathful flashback she talks about how she's a coward who's always running away (and I mean, her avoidance coping is so prevalent she's postponing medical care— not for nothing it's one of the main themes of her Evo line) and how much she hates herself for it. It's fair to say she's pushing herself there to both be brave and also contribute something to the group, I just find noteworthy how her little stunt is alike Minoru's sprint to the Amusement Park entrance to prove himself to the group he's Brave. Given Saki looks down on Minoru a bit, their similarities are fun to watch lol

But also, I think her reckless behavior in pt5 hint at her angsty efforts to push herself to change, to move forward and cling to this freedom and agency she's granted in this other world that lead her to be stubborn and downright unreasonable in Wrathful. I wish it was better conveyed, but now I'm obsessed with this pt5 bait scenario lol

when i was thinking abt the lea.isa<-->cri.menos outfit swap thing for like a week straight before actually doodling it out i had like a six hour span of time where kaldena and xemnas were just like sitting next to each other in my brain . like there is a thread here i fucking know it. and the thread is being gray haired antagonists w a fickle or otherwise differing relationship to their universes god/gods who i feel have some mishandlings in the culmination of their "arcs" but otherwise will keep me awake thinking abt them for days straight. same shit different square enix game.

Major respect and gratitude to all these wonderful artists and logical people!! I'm an amateur artist myself who has never seen the appeal in AI art at all, or just AI in general, but I never really thought too much on how the situation affects people with disabilities. This thread though shows me and other regular people how free and creative art is. And how "Art" as a concept really doesn't have any limitations! You don't need a robot to do something that only a human can truly understand, and you shouldn't have to!
