omg i’m so sorry i meant to respond to this earlier than now!!! i saw it originally when i was waking up for work and thought “ooooh she’s making some banger points i’ll respond to that on my break” and then i just… forgot. so here i am now better late than never 🥰

i’ve always had a bit of a problem with the incessant need to sanitize fandom. i’m not saying ppl can’t curate their fandom experience to appeal to their interests, because obviously, they absolutely can. HOWEVER i do think it has become much more policed than it once was.

i think kink, and understanding its place on a fundamental level (especially within queer spaces), is something that takes maturity to fully understand. like with the rocky horror thing, the use of sexuality and kink is inherently different than what a young person of today might perceive it as. it doesn’t particularly surprise me that people are so sensitive to it, because they simply don’t understand their roots — they’ve formed this concept of queerness that pleases them, and therefore find other demonstrations of queerness to be antiquated or “back-pedalling” (even though we both know it isn’t). i think it’s dumb and immature to try to dictate “right and wrong” ways to be queer, but i’m also not all that shocked that it’s happening.

all this to say, queer characters don’t have to fit into the boxes that we deem as “appropriate”. just like how real queer people don’t owe an explanation for who they are, these queer characters don’t HAVE to reflect every queer person that engages with their media.

personally for me, kink is a MASSIVE component of the queer experience. so because of that, i like my favourite bitches to be kinky but that’s just me 😌

MY LATEST READ OKAY

um truth be told my love i have been in SUCH a slump lately,,,, its been tough out here.

i only read like 3 books very recently (last month or so)

I did read All The Little Raindrops by Mia Sheridan my QUEEN. its like a mystery thriller with a side of romance!!! Sheridan's books are ALWAYS a hit (she's very popular for her booktok famous Archer's Voice? And Travis !!) I've read like. most of her books at this point. I have never devoted myself to an author so much. She got me into the whole thriller genre and I LOVE her. so much. ITS SO GOOD AAAA. its not for the faint of heart and on more than once i find myself with the need to throw up with how HORRIFYING and messed up some of this stuff is (most of her thriller books are not for the faint of heart. lots of horrific stuff that is all too real and it makes it 10x more disturbing). Anyway i loved it i think i gave it a 4/5 stars it was so so good

2. i ALSO started Ana Huang's If Love series. I literally never shut up about Ana Huang like. EVER and i had been wanting to read this for a while and IM SO GLAD I GOT IT STARTED !!! Its a LOT less popular than hr Twisted and Kings of Sin series; she wrote it well before she got popular/published but its so good. its def not Twisted/Kings of Sin series but it makes it sooo clear how much she's grown in her writing, character development and general story telling!!! I read the first 2 books and UGHGUGHUFGHUFGHG yeah. new comfort series fr fr fr fr.

I also got digging through Lynn Painter's works (Love Wager, Mr Wrong Number, Better Than The Movies, etc) 10/10 her rom coms are sacred to me. this was a while ago though like. months ago lmao but i think abt her books always!!!

OH OH OMG I READ BIRTHDAY GIRL BY PENELOPE DOUGLAS !!!! SOME TIME AGO!!! yeah it changed my brain chemistry. i dont remember if i told you or not. but it changed my life. i think about it always.

edit: omg shut up i forgot i read some banger books months ago that i did not mention. i ate up Liz Tomforde's sports romance series (Windy City series) it was SO FREAKING GOOD. she had hockey romance, she had basketball romance she had BASEBALL ROMANCE. 10/10 amazing vibes

I ate through the latest of Lauren Asher's (Love Redesigned) IT WAS ALSO HELLA GOOD!! Ana Huang's King of Greed was also a vibe. not my fav but it was good. I ALSO delved into hockey romance SOOO DEEP. Fav series is probably Becka Mack's Playing For Keeps. It's the silliest stupidest fluffy no plot head empty series ever. the first book is 90% porn. its just for the giggles. the second is a bit better but the third is def the best in terms of actual plot & character development for example but the vibes are astronomical and i live for them

i ALSO started reading Sarah Adam's small town romance series (very very good). All fluffy fall vibes. CHLOE GONG HAD COME OUT WITH A NEW BOOK IN THE SUMMER AND I GOT TO IT AROUND THE NEW YEAR AND IT WAS SOOO GOOOD. Immortal Longings mm......she destroyed me once again.

helloo! wow it’s been a little while ngl! but when when chap10 was posted i was like “do i read it now or wait till the epilogue is posted? 🤔” and i ended up waiting for the epilogue, idk in my head it’s as logic sjsbdb. meanwhile i decided to rewatch stranger things + skamfr kinda at the same time bc it’s been way too long (for the latter). then the epilogue was posted and haven’t found the time or energy to settle and read the last two chapters (we love uni for that). till tonight!! so here’s my not so little review of the chap10 + the epilogue 😅

woaaah im at loss for words for how cute and beautiful that chapter was omg! the vulnerable moment right after the intensity of their love scene hit me right in the feels, lucas’ “please don’t hurt me (again)” and then eliott hugging him tight saying “i promise” 🥺MY HEART🥺

also these little acts had me giggling and kicking my feet

gosh i’m just so giddy when it comes to them like- THEY. ARE. IN. LOVE. 🥹

OH YEAH the moment when idriss came back home and said “I swear, if you fucked in the kitchen, Eliott -" made me think of that one scene in tempo (i think) when he discovers they did it on the counter and there was like evidences or sth and i just burst out laughing 😭 like i imagined him being so done already with them (/affectionate of course)

i didn't get any asks after that :(((((( really really hate tumblr yes that's the hymn. and no god. not even close to semester end. then i was yes. but not now. the new one started forcefully quickly in june and now we have a seminar in september for which we have to write research paper sample after research paper sampleand i just want off this ride now i will live degreeless i want off i don't careeeeeee!!!!

anyway yes i'm doing good, despite how bone-tired i am at the end of every day, this has quite ironically been the best year of my academic life. i just wish i wasn't so occupied with everything all the time. but yes, i had an hour long foot bath which made my toes go very comfortably numb (pun intended) so i'm doing good, thank you. how have you been yourself? sorry to hear about the sleep deprivation, definitely don't try coffee after 8 o clock, i've found it's not that great a coping mechanism apparently. but i do hope you've found another celebration to busy yourself with,- last time it was eid, this time maybe muharram? tell me if i'm treading the wrong waters here religiously or communally because i absolutely could be - as that is the best kind of busy one can be. sigh. oh and i was talking of celebratiions omg HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!! it's such a shame i couldn't wish you on the day of :((( but stiiiilll happpyyyy birthdaaaayyyy getting old is absolutely fabulous it just comes with an unwanted, very necessary side of responsibilities&othersomeseriousstuff but that's life.

the transfer window for guesung rn is kind of a mess 😭 celtic and mainz were playing tug of war but then park jisung (former star kr football player and now technical director at jeonbuk) fell from my good graces when he rejected the mainz offer (and idk if celtic is rly pursuing him anymore) … now jeonbuk’s training in spain and there’s talks that la liga teams are interested?? idk mainz would still be cool for me bc the bundesliga is a good way to get used to european football, plus lee jaesung from the nt plays there so he’d have someone to rely on in a foreign country, and mainz area generally has the biggest kr population in germany. not to mention the fact that mainz coaches have already reached out to guesung to talk abt how to implement them into their style of play, so him getting minutes is also guaranteed. we’ll see ig … transfer window isn’t closed yet! 👍🏾

so i guess this is like an intro pv of a longer oneshot i’ve been working on for the better half of the year now. i got the idea from some soulmate prompt, so soulmate au i guess, or college au, or modern, or w/e.

and as usual i suck at titles so this piece doesn’t have one yet :)))))

There was a particular event of this world in which a certain order of people don’t exactly get the best results from. 

Of course, some of those that others would view as being cheated by life actually found themselves really fortunate.

Here’s the deal: On each of your wrists you have a name. The names are significantly faded, obscured from view at birth really, so you can’t tell what’s written without being relatively close. One of the names is that of your soulmate’s, the other that of your enemy’s. No one knows which is which. 

Crystal was one of the people who had an easier time with that question. She only had one name, the other wrist unmarred. For a while it was a bit of a wonder as to what the name could either signify, but that all changed in their first year of high school. There, she met an academic scholar -such as herself- named Eusine, the same name on her wrist. 

Eusine was a third year and, to put it short, absolutely infuriating. The two were always competing to see who could get the best marks despite the difference of their classes, and it became a battle most others couldn’t hope to reach. Second term, Crystal declared she was ace, so that was a done deal. She also got the highest scores of the school at the end of term, so Eusine had no choice but to sulk as he went off and graduated, declaring his desire to go off and pursue some magical beast he’d read about in a book previously. 

And that was that. Crystal’s one name was that of her enemy’s, and it was back in high school, and they had never seen the guy since, so it was a done deal. Her magical name quest given to her half-heartedly by life was complete, nothing left to it. Not that she minded, running into Eusine again wasn’t something on her daily lists of things to do.

Gold envied Crystal for that reason. But she was also his best friend, both bonding over their shared one-name-only trifle, so he was never envious for long, and it was never anything but a dull, weak couple of thoughts. 

That morning Gold’s mind decided to envy Crystal’s ease at being done with the whole name-destiny-thing for the sole reason that he was moving into an apartment that day that a scholarship was paying for and was incredibly nervous for some stupid reason because it was a big place with lots of people around and he still hadn’t found his soulmate/slash/enemy. It diminished pretty quickly, though, like always.

Currently, Crystal was helping move stuff into the aforementioned apartment because she lived in a dorm on campus so her stuff got moved in a week prior and Gold may have mentioned more than once how appreciative he would be if she were to help. She saw through it, though -it was rare that Gold actually remember to do anything nice in return. So she made him promise to buy her food that evening as payment, and he was forced to begrudgingly agree.

The apartment was on the fourth floor. The elevator of the apartment building was currently jammed with other residents that had decided to move in that day. Stupidly -according to Crystal- Gold decided to take the stairs. This was their second trek up. Crystal was holding a suspiciously heavy-but-small box and mentally cursing her best friend with every step she took. Finally, as they reached the third floor foyer, she had enough of guessing what the ‘OM’ label signified. “Gold, what the hell is in this box?”

He was already ascending the next staircase, but did flip back his head to look as he replied and she slowly followed. “The  . . Oh, my music. Bunch of tapes, CDs, stuff.”

“T-” She paused, thought, then quickly continued. “Tapes? Do you even have a player?”

“Yeah, somewhere.” He shrugged. “It’s mostly older stuff. Sinatra, Jovi, Frey, stuff like that. Although I did invest in-”

She could see it, a few paces behind him. He had reached the top, was spinning around the corner, and she’d seen enough of his accident-prone self to know, the shadow on the wall ahead only confirming.

“-Some, like, Gaga and-” He broke off with a very high-pitched squeal as he slammed into the person approaching, and Crystal quickly got up the final few steps to catch him before he could fall down the stairs. This mostly involved shoving the heavy box against his mid-back, but it did keep him upright. More than she could say for the other, who was barely picking themselves up into a sitting position.

“What-Oh shit-” Gold sputtered, catching sight. He quickly set the items he was carrying onto Crystal’s box -making her grunt and lean against the railing to keep from falling over from the weight- and reached down to offer a hand to the other. “Sorry about that, miss-”

“God that hurt,” a clearly-not-feminine voice said. The head lifted to reveal a pair of silvery eyes and -yep, it was a guy, way to go Gold, real nice move. They flicked to his outstretched hand for only a moment before ignoring it in favor of the wall beside him. Once he was back on his feet, those silver orbs narrowed and Gold retrieved his hand. 

“Uh. Sorry,” he said, eyes wide.

The other reeled back his lip. “Yeah right. Watch where you’re going next time, asshole.” He pushed away from the wall and walked off in the direction he’d originally been headed, to a door at the end of the hall, which Gold found strange but he would ignore in favor of other things.

“I said I was sor-” He broke off his half-shout as Crystal kneed him from behind, wincing in pain.

“Quit it and grab these from me before I collapse,” she grunted. Gold swiftly complied, adding an apology for good measure. She only huffed and shoved him out of the way, finally standing on the floor.

“Seriously though, what a hick.” He grumbled more as they moved toward his room. Although he was intrigued by the red hair. Not in a curious way, Crystal had dark blue hair for crying out loud, but it just seemed so vibrant.

His thoughts were cut short by Crystal kicking open the door they’d left cracked with a spare uni pamphlet they’d had on hand, figuring it’d be so small no one would notice the door was open. He walked in after her, watched her drop the box onto the counter with only minor flinching, and proceeded to freeze when she spun around to look pointedly at him.

“ . . What? What did I do?”

She shrugged. “Nothing. Just, watch where you’re going. And play some of this stuff. Music makes this less challenging.”

It was late in the evening when Gold found himself venturing out of his apartment, figuring he’d grab something from the vending machine the next floor down for dinner that night -because stupid Crystal and her stupid expensive tastes. He was just swinging the door shut, murmuring the last melodies of a song, when he saw something unbelievable.

“ … heart is a ghost town . .Uh-”

The person in front of him froze, a couple feet away. Silver eyes, red hair, the one from earlier. His hand was outstretched to a door beside Gold’s that led into the compartment beside Gold’s which meant he lived by-

The other stuck the key in and twisted the handle, looking firmly at the cream-colored door in front of him. Gold let his lips loosen before he could stop himself.

“Are you serious.”

The other finally pushed the door open, not bothering to answer and instead walking in. Gold jumped forward and caught his wrist, which was wrenched free pretty quickly as he spun around, pale eyes gleaming. “What,” he spat.

Gold bit down on his lip for a good moment to avoid saying anything unnecessary. “Your name,” he ground out. “I never caught it.”

The two stared each other down for a good five seconds before the other relented. “Silver,” he huffed. As Gold opened his mouth to speak again, Silver beat him to it. “Don’t care. Bye.”

The door was promptly shut in Gold’s face.

He wrenched out his phone and ran to the elevator.

“Repeat that again?”

“His name was, get in there you stupid bill, was Silver.”

“And that’s important because . . ?”

“It’s the name on my wrist, Crys, God.”

“Sorry, sorry! It’s been a bit since I’ve seen it.”

“Finally! Now . . mm . . ‘ets do chips . . So we’re the same.”

“Excuse me?”

“The same, like, we both have the names of our enemies.” he popped open the bag, immediately crunching on a couple chips.

“You think he’s your enemy?”

“Um, yeah. You were there. Plus he slammed the door in m��� face minute ago.”

“So that makes him your destined enemy.”

“Pretty much. You know any other Silvers? Plus his place is right beside mine. And he’s off-putting. And scowls a lot.”

On the other end, Crystal sighed and put her face into one hand. “Kay look. So it’s probably not going to work to avoid him. Just don’t stir up much trouble. Grades come first, got it?”

Although he wasn’t up to par with his super-geeky BFF, Gold had had the effort to maintain a good GPA, one of the reasons he was starting at the same school as her tomorrow. Since he was on scholarship, he understood what she meant. “Got it,” he muttered.

“Good. Now it’s, like, nine. So goodnight.”

The next time Gold saw Silver, they were both walking out of their rooms. Silver immediately looked away, walking over to the stairs. Gold glared for a moment before turning to the elevator.

This continued for the next few days, every morning, except for a notable trend. Silver grew more weary, dark spots appearing below his eyes, limbs moving just a bit slower. Gold didn’t get it until returning to his place the next day. Silver was coming out of the building, backpack on, books stacked in his arms, a phone between his head and shoulder. So that was it. He was a study freak, he was probably not sleeping very much. He probably . . uh …

“What do you want?”

“Gee thanks, good to hear your voice too.”

“It’s seven, Gold, and I have things to do.”

“Fine fine. Tell me how you take notes.”

“Because . .?”

“Reasons.”

A sigh echoed through the speaker. “I record the lecture and make a color code chart of all the topics mentioned. Then I make the notes in my spare time.”

Yep. That’s probably what he did. Mystery solved. Nothing big.

Except, it did turn out to be sorta big, when the water system clicked on for the first time late at night.

Gold didn’t realize the walls were that thin. Lo and behold, he could hear the pipes moving next door. He let his eyes slide open, move to the clock beside his bed. Oh. Not night anymore, it was nearing past two.

He’d just tell him off in the morning, well, later into the morning.

Except he didn’t. Gold was out the door late and Silver wasn’t there. He didn’t really feel like knocking, either, so he left. And then he forgot. Until, at least, the next night, when it happened again. 

Gold considered moving in with Crys. Then he remembered her saying not to make a big deal out of this, to just deal with it, it was just life. 

So at three-forty in the morning, ten minutes after the water had been shut off, Gold climbed out of bed and knocked on the redhead’s door.

It took a minute, but the door opened, Silver peeking out of it. When he caught sight, his eyes narrowed. “What do you want?”

“I-” Gold stopped, considered his words, then lowered his voice to a half-shout. “I want you to stop taking showers at three AM, you nerd! Get your shit together.”

“N-Ner . . ?” Silver paused, thinking through the statement. Finally, he looked back up at Gold. “Okay. Sorry. I’ll . . do that.”

He hadn’t been expecting that. Still left with a bit of spitfire, Gold just fired away. “Good!”

Mistake. Those silver orbs turned cold, turned to look him straight. “I get it, you can stop now,” he spat. Then he turned, shutting the door a little hard but not too much to cause a complaint.

He didn’t go too far. They were enemies after all, right? That was okay. But . . he did still feel kinda bad, as he went back and found he couldn’t fall back asleep.

He got up early and made himself some coffee, machine courtesy of a friend of his. After drinking it he got ready, then made a second cup before heading out the door.

As if on cue, the second his was shut and locked, Silver’s opened and the redhead stepped out. The first thing Gold noticed was that his hair was in a loose bun. He hadn’t known it was long enough for it, but hey, there it was. The second thing was that his eyes were immediately on him.

Or, uh, maybe not him. Gold glanced down at his drink. Then looked back up to Silver’s stricken face. Then he remembered last night, and slowly held the cup out. “Here. You look like you could use it.”

Silver just deadpanned at him. “Thanks, because someone insulting me is the first thing I needed this morning.”

He grimaced. Maybe that was some of the intention, but he was also trying to be nice, for once! Okay, it was most of the attention. But he really didn’t need a second cup, the sugar high would kill him later. “Just take it.”

“Is it poisoned?”

“Only if you don’t like a little cream.”

The other’s shoulders visibly relaxed. Another moment of hesitation, then Silver was slightly gripping the cup. Gold withdrew his hand. 

“Thanks.”

“Sure thing, mister beast.”

“Does everything that comes out of your mouth have to be infuriating,” Silver snapped.

“I could say the same to you!”

“Whatever. This probably tastes like shit, anyways.”

They didn’t interact for a bit after that.

chaeyoung looks up from her laptop to peer at nayeon.

“what?” chaeyoung asks, sheepishly.

“i asked if you needed to buy any food. you know, from the line?” she says patiently. she throws a hand behind her, and chaeyoung’s eyes follow the movement; jeongyeon and momo are waving so frantically at them that they’ve begun to cause a scene.

“nah, i brought something from home. it’s leftovers day,” chaeyoung tells her with a bright grin, happiness coating her voice. nayeon is completely unable to help herself from patting chaeyoung’s head affectionately. she leaves with a final head pat, storming over to grab momo from backing into a group of bystanders.

chaeyoung pulls out her lunchbox from her bag and a small blue post-it note flutters down to rest on the table in the most dramatic way possible. black ink lettering the paper in careful, delicate strokes.

“what’s that, dahyunnie?” sana asks suddenly, ending her train of thought. dahyun looks up at her mid-chew, making a confused noise.

sana snatches a blue post-it note at dahyun’s elbow and her eyes scan over it quickly and then holds it to her chest and sighs theatrically. mina shaking her head exasperatedly before handing the note over.

“excuse me do you have this poster in stock?” “well, can you check in the back?” “why don’t you carry one direction vinyls?” “by the way, someone knocked down the display stand with all the christmas CDs. yeah i didn’t see.”

she barely had a second to breathe. and plus her co-worker had called in late so now chaeyoung was behind on inventory.

but.

it’s leftovers day again and chaeyoung is looking forward to her ham and cheese sandwich. but mostly she’s interested in the strawberry tart she’s going to eat for dessert. there’s another blue post-it note, this time it’s stuck to her apple.

chaeyoung grins widely at the familiar careful, black lettering.

there isn’t really a word to describe how much dahyun detested group assignments. her team members had all conveniently forgotten to email their drafts by the agreed on date.

“dahyun i’m sorry, i just haven’t had time” “i totally forgot about that my bad” “i had practice all week!”

and now. they were running behind. (not really).

but they were running behind according to dahyun’s very well put together, well-crafted, truly excellent planning board! (they were two days behind). she’d have to completely overhaul it and adjust everything.

(the assignment wasn’t due for another two weeks).

dahyun slumped in her uncomfortable plastic chair, pretending not to look put off by how animatedly her group members discussing something completely irrelevant over their uneaten lunch. she pulls out her juice-box with a huff, stabbing the straw in aggressively. she yanks out her cutlery and a blue post-it note floats out gently behind it. dahyun snatches it out of the air, brows furrowed.

chaeyoung’s perched at the edge of her seat, munching absentmindedly on carrot stick, occasionally dipping it into an unidentifiable sauce. it tasted vaguely like mayonnaise and pickles but it was kind of good so she’s not really going to question what’s in it. instead she’s typing rapidly at her laptop, sighing every few minutes.

she was so so so behind on the written section of her portfolio. she’s not really sure why she left it last minute knowing full well she had a whole twenty pages of her own work to analyse. she chews more aggressively at her carrot sticks.

jihyo pokes at her shoulder. hard.

“you have to relax.”

“i can’t!” chaeyoung tells her, obscurely aware that she sounded very panicked, “i have so many words to shit out! and so few minutes to shit them out in!!”

jihyo gives her a deeply unamused smile. chaeyoung can’t find in her to care that she’s cursed in front of her mother.

“you’ll be fine,” jihyo says, firmly. “when’s it due anyway?”

“in two days!”

“you’ll be fine.” jihyo says, sounding completely unconvincing. chaeyoung leans back in her chair and stares at the ceiling. “here, eat something.”

she’s digging in chaeyoung’s bag and then holds out a banana and a neatly packaged container of salad. there’s a blue post-it note stuck to the lid.

dahyun’s aware of the sheer ridiculousness of the situation. she’s in the bathroom, back against the door, breathing heavily. like she’s escaped a murderer or something. She catches her reflection in the mirror and her hair is sticking up in sixteen different directions, she’s got a weird green stain on her collar and she’s holding a bar of chocolate protectively against her chest.

she’s locked herself in a room away from screaming children. okay. so the children were her cousins. but. they were screaming and she needed a break. there were only so many times she could watch the elmo’s world theme song on repeat. it’s ingrained so deeply in her brain that if aliens kidnapped her and wiped her memory completely, she’s sure that the elmo song would still be embedded in there somewhere. like a sesame street sleeper agent.

and also she wanted to eat her chocolate in secret. if she’d learnt anything, is that kids take the sharing lesson very seriously. especially when it comes to chocolate. especially when it comes to dahyun not sharing her chocolate. there’s a blue post-it note stuck to the back of the packaging.

tzuyu watches chaeyoung stick another blue post-it note into her journal, gluing it down to the page carefully, tongue sticking out in concentration. she tries not to notice the intensely deep affection warm her entire body when she notices that the entire page are those post-it puns she’s been giving secretly. chaeyoung’s filling in the blank spaces, seemingly at random with pops of purple and green and little drawings of cookies and yoda.

dahyun is tilting her head to one side, blonde hair falling down her back with her movements; kind of like a puppy, tzuyu thinks, her nose scrunching up at how adorable the sight is. and she tries not to notice the affection grow when dahyun holds both hands up, her index fingers and thumbs forming an L-shape, lips jutted out dramatically, one eye closed, she’s crouching on the floor.

dahyun’s spent the whole afternoon rearranging her blue post-it note collection, and blue-tacking her favourites to her wall.

tzuyu’s aware that dahyun thinks chaeyoung’s been giving her the post-its. and vice versa.

(but she’s completely unaware that dahyun and chaeyoung have known it was her from the second a dopey, proud smile crossed her face when they first showed her their post-it notes.)

they think tzuyu’s proud, dopey smile is their new favourite thing.

right up there with tzuyu’s heart.

Recolors are really easy to do, there are tons of tutorials on YouTube that will help with that. Ombre accessories are a bit challenging but hopefully I can get a tutorial for those out one day. Converting to kids is really simple if you know Blender basics, you can use my converting to adults tutorial to get an idea of how a conversion would work.

REMOVE DOUBLES!!!! lmao that is the only way you will get anything done in edit mode. Proportional Edit Tool and Removing doubles from the entire mesh makes it a lot easier than sculpt mode. Make sure to split edges later though
