Or, alternate funny version to the previous: any combination of Uchiha watching Tobirama fight and discussing their observations (gossiping/oogling shamelessly), after peace exists and they SHOULD technically probably help him, but... Tobirama can clearly handle it, no need to get in his way
I once read that a drabble is 200 words or less. I will never beat those allegations.
The ability to share memories with the sharingan really isn't meant to be used this way, but that's never actually stopped anyone.
"I swear to you," Says Madara with a snicker, "He slapped himself in the face with a water whip. Acted like it never happened, but I saw it."
The scene is a bit more endearing than that, when Madara shows it. Tobirama is sparring with his students and one of them can't quite dodge in time. That jutsu can break skin and cut through muscle if it hits right, but rather than hurt one of his students that badly, Tobirama jerks it back. He breaking the whip's momentum but loses a good portion of control and, indeed, slaps himself in the fact with it. He looks rather akin to a wet cat.
Madara and Izuna both break out into another fit of laughter, but Hikaku just shakes his head fondly.
"I've seen him do that on purpose, actually." He says after the laughter has died down a bit. It's not exactly the same -- the memory he calls up had been recorded on accident. It had been in those early days of peace, when seeing Tobirama move water about had made him call up the sharingan on instinct, back when they'd be so concerned that he'd break peace that he wasn't allowed to go off on missions alone.
I'd been rather rote mission -- dealing with bandits who had thought they could take advanced of the disorganization of a new village. It had had been hot, the summer temperatures soaring high and uncomfortable, and they'd both been sweat soaked and sticky by the end of it.
"Excuse me" Tobirama had said the moment he'd cause sight of a source of water. He'd let himself jump in ankle deep instead of standing on top, raised an arm, and proceeded to dump an honestly excessive amount of water over himself. Of course, his mastery over water let him pull water out of his clothes until he was just the right amount of damp without any effort-- Hikaku had been and still is jealous over it -- and even back then, eyes lingered on where wet clothes stuck to well-defined muscle.
Thankfully no one comments. The sharingan's tendency to show the exactly what was seen means they've all shared unintentionally embarrassing moments. Plus, Hikaku knows he's not the only one who's done that exact thing.
"Oh, sensei will do that for us, if we ask!" Chimes in Kagami, thankfully too young and oblivious to understand why his cousins are giving Hikaku the side eye. He launches into a memory of his team begging and pleading to be allowed to train on the water on another hot day. His sensei had crossed his arms, unimpressed, and said he knew that the lot of them had all mastered water walking already…
…But that if the lot of them managed to prove they could do their D-rank mission without complaining, he would think of a way to cool them all off. In Kagami's young memory, the cool mist Tobirama had raised from the pond of the garden they'd been weeding had been the most refreshing thing he'd ever felt.
"…He's too soft on you." Madara says, without any real heat.
"He's something." Izuna responds dryly. "Sometimes I forget, none of you have ever seen what it's like when he really wants to get something done."
Without warning, Izuna calls up the memory of a fight. No… A spar, but a bloodthirsty one. Probably one of the first ones they'd had since they were allowed to again, after peace was called. A mixture of pent up frustration and the fact that they were no longer supposed to kill each other had both of them showing off -- Izuna was prone to do it, regardless, but this was the first time he'd seen Tobirama opt for techniques that were more flashy than practical. A water dragon with mutliple heads split apart into multiple, chasing Izuna through the trees, each one eating one of the multi-fireballs Izuna hurls out to counter them.
Tobirama did not hesitate, leaping out from the steam and twisting his fingers. The droplets of water in the air shimmered and twisted until everything was an indistinct haze.
Not that it stops a sharingan. But something about the scene -- the way the light hit the mist, haloing Tobirama with a sort of rainbow -- or maybe the way he's smirking -- makes Izuna pause.
Oh, he thinks.
Oh, thinks everyone else.
#oh my god . im not going to tag this with everyone#tobirama senju#and Founder Era Uchihas#I think tobirama probably tried to figure out if he could refract light through water enough to blind people#he can't but he can make things *pretty* doesn't help with the sharingan but hey if hes showing off...#I also have a very vague and cracky idea of… the uchiha sharing memories with each other.#as they increasingly gain more memories of Tobirama Not being their enemy during peace tim#(and being downright kind to them re: Kagami and Hikaku specifically)#they all lowkey start to like and maybe even fall or him a little (since the memories being shared already have that connotation)#and tobirama is just clueless about the change in opinon and why it might be happening#………something something single dad hikaku as well. ive been THINKING about this.#urgh like I need more ideas. Your Italicized ‘Oh’ moment
The Kiss
you typically wait until the last second to believe the truth--because it would destroy you to believe it, and then find out it was a lie. you are someone who has never wanted to want, but has rarely been able to do anything else. the idea that you might have to break down your walls for the sake of someone else, someone who could easily decide they don't like what is on the other side, is harrowing. why let people get close enough to be rejected? you are enough for yourself. and you will tell yourself that every time you catch yourself staring at their mouth, smirking at their joke, finding a reason to flick their shoulder. until the kiss. that's when the flood of want, want, want bowls over you and you realize that you are torn between two ways of living. Oh, you think. because despite how complicated you have made it, the moment you kiss, somehow, things seem incredibly simple. they won't be once you start thinking again, but for now, for this moment, you live in the quiet peace of revelation. Oh.

Run To Me (Part 3)
Pairing: Diane Sherman x Fem!Reader
TW: Brief mention of child abuse
Word count: 1.7K
A/n: The love for this fic as me soaring! I plan on it being in about 10 parts, if you’re here for it! Also- there is mention of a memory of abuse in the beginning. As a child of abuse myself, it was a bit difficult to write so please skip it if you think it will bother you! It’s the italicized part in the beginning and will not affect the story line for you at all! Anyways, happy reading. Thank you all so much!
"No! Please! I'll be a good girl!"
Your little voice strained, kicking your legs wildly to prevent yourself from being placed in the bathtub. She didn't listen, forcing you into the water. It was too hot and burned, but thankfully you were fully clothed and it protected your skin, if only a little bit. You cried out and reached for the woman's forearms, gripping them so hard your tiny knuckles turned white. The woman who was supposed to protect you, supposed to love you.
Tears streamed down your face as she pushed your body down, your head going under. You thrashed, sending water everywhere and you fought as hard as you could. You could see her angry face from beneath the water. You didn't understand what you had done wrong this time. You were afraid. You screamed, bubbles being sent to the surface in a last attempt of a cry for mercy.
You shot up in bed, sweating. You touched your face and found it dry, telling yourself you were safe. It was only a dream. You took a deep breath, relishing the feeling. You were safe now. You were okay.
"Did you have a bad dream, Y/n?"
You jumped at her voice. You hadn't see Diane standing in the doorway of the room, but now that your eyes had adjusted, you saw her in her night clothes with a cup of tea, looking over at you.
"Uh yeah, I have them a lot. It's no big deal, I'm used to it."
You looked over at the clock and saw that it was 5:45 AM. Diane had been up long enough to make a pot of tea and you wondered just how long she had been standing at the door.
You went to adjust yourself in bed and cried out, wincing. You had never felt more sore in your entire life, and it was like your body had decided to give up on you. Your arms shook and gave out, causing you to flop down on the bed.
Diane rushed over, placing her tea on the bedside table. She brushed your hair out of your face, her eyes filled with concern. You felt the bed dip as she sat by you, hovering over you.
"Don't push it. You will feel the most sore today and you're going to need rest. I can bring you what you need and take care of you. You just need to relax."
You felt very conflicted. You had never in your life seen such kindness, never mind from someone you barely knew. You did not want to appear weak or need help, but at the same time you did. You didn't know Diane but it was like something in your heart told you that you had actually known her your whole life. You felt a warm tingly feeling bloom in your chest when she looked at you and while you would never admit it to even yourself, you wanted her close to you. Even through that warm feeling though, you also felt a small nagging voice in the back of your mind that something was not right. Something about this whole situation was wrong, but maybe that's just because you had never been loved before. You didn't know how to handle it was all. It wasn't wrong, it was just new.
Diane looked at you with what you thought could possibly be admiration and you couldn't help but smile a bit. Your cheeks flushed and you looked away, unable to process everything. Diane placed her hand suddenly on your forehead, drawing your attention back to her.
"Do you feel like you're running a fever? You're sweating and your cheeks are flushed," she said, moving her hands around your face trying to see if you were. She grabbed your face with both hands and pressed her lips to your forehead. You knew this was a way some people could tell if someone was running a fever, but it still shocked you. You gasped and pulled back suddenly.
"Sorry, my hands are cold and I couldn't tell," she said, realizing she may have made you uncomfortable.
"Oh, no it's okay. It's my fault. I'm not good with people showing concern because I never really go it much. I'm fine though. My nightmares just get really bad sometimes and I wake up like this," you said, forcing yourself to sit up.
Diane smiled softly at you, placing her hand on yours.
"Y/n, you know... you deserved care and concern from someone. You may not have had it then, but I hope I can provide some for you now, if you'll let me."
You throat seemed to close and you felt tears prickle at the corners of your eyes. You quickly cleared your throat and looked away, taking a deep breath. You didn't want her to see you cry. She squeezed your hand though, and you know she saw it.
"Also, if you ever want to talk about your dreams with me, I don't mind. I'd love to listen to you about anything you want to say, especially something that is bothering you."
With that Diane got up, taking her tea with her and heading towards the door.
"I am going to go make you some breakfast and a cup of tea and bring it to you. You just relax and I will be back in a minute," she said.
"Wait, don't you have work? It's really okay. I'm sore, but I can take care of myself. Plus I really should start looking for somewhere else-"
"Oh no, its okay. I took the week off work to make sure you get back on your feet. I have a bunch of days saved up. It will be like a little vacation. Plus, you need me," she said, her voice almost a song. She left the room before you could argue.
You suddenly became aware of just how weak your body felt. You weren't sure why you felt so weak, but then again you had never been run down by a car before. You propped the pillows from the bed up behind you, not willing to lay back down. You were still tired but you were also hungry and the promise of food was much better than another nap.
You looked around the room, bathed in early morning light. It was very comfortable and felt lived in even though it had supposedly just been sitting empty this whole time. The walls were decorated so pretty and it smelled like fresh linen. There were countless number of books and other things that could keep someone entertained for what seemed like years. It was plush and inviting and seemed like heaven for a young girl. The only strange thing was the many picture frames placed around the room. All of them were empty. Why would you buy picture frames if you didn't have pictures to put in them? Maybe it was just a stylistic choice, but they seemed sad, just waiting for photos to be placed in them.
You heard footsteps coming from the hall and watched as Diane entered with a tray. She put a simple breakfast of oatmeal and fruit in front of you, with a steaming cup of tea on the side.
"Eat up, you'll need it to get back your strength. Also make sure you drink all that tea. It's got special herbs in it that will get your immune system going to make sure you don't get an infection from any of those cuts," Diane hummed, checking over the tray to make sure you had everything.
You grabbed the tea and went to take a sip, but stopped and put it down, a question weighing heavily on you.
"Diane, why are you doing this? You don't know me, whatsoever, and usually when you hit someone with your car, you call the police and then go on about your day to worry later about insurance. But you took me in and are being so nice to me. Why?"
Diane stopped and took in a breath, thinking of her response. She then came and crouched by the bed, looking deeply into your eyes.
"Do you believe in fate Y/n?" Diane asked. This caught you off guard.
"Uh, yes. Yes, I do."
"Well as crazy as this sounds, I believe it was fate that we crossed paths. We're two lone people. Me, with so much love to give, and you, in need of so much love. I know it may sound strange, but from the moment I looked at you I felt like I had found someone I had been looking for for such a long time. Maybe I'm just assuming things, but I think you felt that too," she whispered.
You swallowed the lump in your throat and nodded. Maybe she was right. Maybe this is why you felt drawn to this town. It wasn't your foster sister, but fate. It seemed so unlikely and you were scared to trust it, but it was all you ever wanted: Love.
Diane smiled so hard that you were sure her face may split. She grabbed the back of your head and kissed the side of your head. You didn't pull away this time, allowing the affection to warm your cheeks and your chest.
"Y/n, I can't wait to get to know you. I'm so happy I found you. You're safe now. You've got me," she said.
She stood up, looking like she might dance around the room. She walked to the doorway and turned back to point to the tray in front of you.
"Make sure you eat and drink that tea. It's important for you to do that," she said. You nodded and picked up the mug, taking a big swig. You grimaced and forced yourself to swallow. It tasted awful.
"Yeah I know. I'm sorry. It's got a bad taste, but its going to help you. Drink it all, because I will check. I'll come back in a bit to check on you," she said leaning against the frame.
You took another swig and almost gagged, but you wanted to make her happy. She smiled at you and winked, this time closing the door behind her as she left. You were going to have to get used to this, but you thought it would be easy with Diane. You really felt safe with her.

Jedi Knight Tobirama: Basic Talks
Here we go! A lot of language work-arounds. At one point, the relevent parties understand enough of each other that to indicate Basic, I just italicized.
"Hello, I apologize, but our ship was damaged and we crashed," Tobirama spoke clearly, crossing his arms as if he were wearing his robe and thus displaying his lightstaff handle. The other groups stared blankly.
Izuna frowned at them. "Why aren't they responding? He growled, hand resting on his blaster. "Hm, I'm not sure," Tobirama trailed off, peering at them, "Ah, I do not believe that they speak Basic." "あなたは何ですか1?" Someone in the crowd asked. "What the kriff was that?" Izuna asked, tensing. "We don't know their language, they do not know ours. That makes things... difficult."
"I always knew that that Senju was a demon," one of the Uchiha muttered. Tobirama nearly rolled his eyes at that and was surprised to see that Izuna gave his Clanmate a sharp look for the comment. "Tobirama, do you know what language they're speaking?" Hashirama asked his voice low. Tobirama cocked his head towards the strange pair and listened as the armored one vocalized.
2He shook his head. "I don't know what that is Anija."
Tobirama stiffened when the demon version of himself pointed at him and then beckoned him over. Hashirama grabbed his arm.
"Don't go to him. We have no idea what is going on."
"Anija, going over may be the only way to figure that out."
The demon gestured again and the armored being growled as no one moved.
Tobirama took a step forward and stopped as the Uchiha stiffened. Hands went to weapons and he could feel the gathering chakra of them.
Tobirama scowled, of course the Uchiha would make things difficult.
"I don't think they're going to let your counterpart come over here," Izuna said, wanting to cross his arms but hated the idea of adding precious minutes to getting to his weapons. Especially when he could see that hut'ruun Satoshi in the crowd around his counterpart. Bastard tried to poison his father expecting that Madara would be an easier opponent to beat. Too bad for him, Tajima had an immunity to that poison.
"Hm," Tobirama hummed and then pointed at his counterpart and Izuna's before motioning them over.
Tobirama huffed when there was no movement from the other Izuna. He could feel his Izuna's amusement from next to him as the human (?) version of himself stopped after one step once more.
"Take your helmet off," Tobirama told him, keeping himself turned towards the others.
"What? No way! Who knows what weapons they have? I'm not risking it," Izuna snapped.
"I need my counterpart because of that quantum mechanics theory I had about sharing specific knowledge with one's own counterpart in a parallel universe. He's not going to come over unless someone of the other group does the same. These....this version of your Clan seems very suspicious so if they see you, he'll come over and I can guide the two of you as well."
"No way am I leaving us vulnerable," Izuna was silent for a moment after he spoke. Then he sighed and brought his hand up to his helmet, "I'll do it, but Madara needs to be watching our backs."
With that said, he raised Madara on the comms to call him out and tell him a quick summary of what was happening.
Tobirama starred as the two conversed in their strange language before falling silent. He wasn't sure why the armored being had reached up to touch it's head but he didn't think it was bad. He tried to Sense them, but his mind skipped over them like a mistake in a sentence. He wasn't the only one who reached for their weapons when another armored being stepped out. His demon counterpart held up his hands, palms facing them in what was probably a calming gesture.
3This armored being was red instead of blue. Tobirama narrowed his eyes, trying to figure out where the weak spots were. Movement caused him to glance at the blue armored being and he felt numb. Standing next to the demonic version of himself was Uchiha Izuna. Numbly Tobirama moved forward, silently meeting Izuna at the edge of their Clans and coming to a stop in front of the strange versions of themselves.
The demonic Tobirama knelt down, sitting on his heels and gestured for Tobirama and Izuna to follow suit, murmuring to his Izuna.
The armored Izuna huffed and sat, one leg propped up, as he glared at them.
The demonic Tobirama rolled his eyes. He touched his temple, then his throat with the tips of his fingers. He then touched his lips, saying a sentence as he pulled his hand away and towards Tobirama. Then he leaned forward.
The armored Izuna tensed, as did the other armored being.
Tobirama flinched, but did not move as his demonic counterpart repeated the process, mimicking Tobirama himself.
“Anija, sore o rikai suru yuiitsu no hōhō kamo shirenai.4”
The words were slightly slurred, and a lack of understanding was in it's-his eyes. But it made sense.
Tobirama nodded slowly and held back as his demonic self trailed his hand down to grip Tobirama's.
“Take your counterpart's hand and think about language,” Tobirama told his rival.
Tobirama released his smugness into the Force as his human self spoke to the other Izuna.
“We are going to do a group meditation, focusing on language,” he told Izuna, “physical contact will best facilitate the transfer between you and he.”
Izuna huffed and pulled his glove off, grabbing the other's hand.
“Is this necessary?” Madara asked from behind them.
“We can't talk,” Izuna tossed over his shoulder, “so yes. Or do you not want to warn your counterpart about Satoshi?”
Madara huffed.
“So after this, what's the plan?” Izuna asked.
“Group meditation among us. Easier transfer as it's not getting into the metaphysical, simply an exchange. But these people aren't manipulating the Force, so we need to do this first.”
Izuna nodded and closed his eyes, hoping his counterpart would do the same. It wasn't needed, but it was disorienting to be pulled into a group meditation with your eyes open.
And then - words. So many words filtering through with images associated. Oh, oh, they made sense! Anija was a term for an elder brother much like ori’vod.
Maybe keep to Basic, came the fond thought from his jetii.
Nayc he teased back.
And then
Me’ven? NAYC! Ibic jehaat! Nu draar, keysh be’ner vod’ika!5
CALM DOWN! Tobirama's mental voice range out.
A-6
They've led a different life. Leave it.
Then I'll show them!
And he threw all of his memories of long talks with Tobirama into the mix, pushing the love and affection he had for the Jedi with them.
Tobirama opened his eyes and looked at the Jedi before him. Beside him, he was sure Izuna was doing the same to the Mand'o.
“I suppose it would be best to be formal and call you Knight Vel?” he asked.
“Perhaps not so formal,” the half Zabrak inclined his head, “simply call me Vel.”
“Vel-renshi7,” Tobirama nodded.
Vel gave him a deadpanned look but nodded.
“Unfortunately, I do not believe you have an easy alternative?” Tobirama glanced over at the Mand'o Izuna.
“Izu’ika,” Vel smirked.
Izu’ika made a face but didn't protest.
Tobirama gave a nod and stood, glancing down at Izuna, almost wanting to reach out and help him up.
“Anija, they are not our enemies,” he called out, “though if provoked, they will fight. I suggest for at least tonight and tomorrow we call a ceasefire.”
“I agree,” Izuna added.
The two Clans looked at each other in shock. Except for Hashirama who bounded forward like a puppy. The other Mand’o tensed, but Izu’ika rolled his eyes.
“He's a giant loth-cat,” he snapped.
Vel-renshi snorted, “more like a wolf.”
“What did they do?” Hashirama asked his brother, ignoring Madara slinking closer, much more cautious.
“Well,” Tobirama opened his mouth before closing it. He…. wasn't truly sure.
“We connected on a metaphysical level, entwining our cores to facilitate an exchange of language in an effort to communicate beyond general charades,” Vel-renshi interrupted, “upon Izu’ika and I gaining your language, we will meditate with our others to Share the knowledge. Luckily this one is experienced in meditation and the other has the same training as I.”
The other Mand'o turned his head slightly towards Vel-renshi, head tilting slightly.
“Ah, he's up. He probably needs a little help,” Vel-renshi said mildly.
The Mand'o glowered at him through the helmet.
Vel-renshi raised an eyebrow.
The Mand'o growled and turned back to the ship, stalking in.
“Where's he going?” Madara asked, his voice sharp.
Vel-renshi blinked slowly at him, cocking his head in interest.
“You are very suspicious,” he said voice mild.
Madara bristled at that.
“It is… nice to see that some people are the same at their core, is it not Izu’ika?”
“Eh, more like it means Clan Uchiha tends towards violence in their lifestyle. He might not be the same xirlia8-on-the-inside as ge’tal vod9,” Izu’ita waved off.
“Hm, but some things are constant,” Izuna protested as the Clans cautiously inched closer to where they stood.
Tobirama raised an eyebrow.
“Well, Vel-renshi's horns, they're in a pattern like your happuri,” Izuna pointed out.
Izu’ika snorted, “I'd pay many credits to see what's similar between the charaaryc-ade10.”
Any reply was interrupted by the Mand'o helping a tall male down the ramp. He had a crown of horns that his green-brown hair draped around. Except for the natural seeming green tinge and horns, he looked just like Hashirama.
“Ehhh? Why do you feel just like a tree??” Hashirama blurted out.

🥺 Is there a certain type of moment or common interaction between your characters that never fails to put you in your feels?
First of all, I am not immune to the italicized oh. It just?? Hits every time?? But more than that, I think what really gets me is character A FINALLY realizes that character B really does like them back and it hasn't been one-sided. Like it's my favorite moment to write in any Jiara fic because JJ (bless his self-deprecating heart) usually has to be whacked upside the head multiple times before he finally believes Kiara's interested.
🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
