Lights flash violently with loud beats bouncing off every wall inside the house. The ambiance is electric, with only the dim kitchen light providing a soft glow amidst the chaos. Girls are dancing or grinding up against their boyfriends or random men, creating a whirlwind of movement and lost into the crowd. The house is packed with people, all gathered to celebrate the success of the rock band Stray Kids. The air is thick with the scent of sweat and anticipation. Therefore, Y/n found herself as a special guest of none other than Hwang Hyunjin from Stray Kids. Despite her close ties with Hyunjin and the band, it surprisingly didn't stir much attention, apart from a few curious remarks from their dedicated fandom. But secretly, no one knew the intense and electrifying past they shared. It wasn't that they were dating, nor could it be called friends with benefits; it was something deeper, a clandestine connection driven by raw, unrestrained pleasure.
As the evening progressed, Y/n sat on the stool, her eyes locked on Hyunjin as he laughed and mingled with the crowd. Her legs were crossed tightly, a subtle tension visible in her posture. She sipped her cocktail slowly, savoring the taste while her gaze pierced through the room, focusing intently on the man who unknowingly held her captive with his every move. As Y/n continued to sip her cocktail, her eyes couldn't help but wander to the way his dark hair was tied up in a casual half ponytail, perfectly complementing his grey button-up long sleeve shirt that subtly revealed his delicate torso. He moved with an effortless grace, the fabric of his shirt shifting slightly with each motion, hinting at the strength beneath. Paired with ripped, baggy blue jeans and classic Converse sneakers, his look was both relaxed and captivating, drawing Y/n's gaze like a magnet. She couldn't tear her eyes away, mesmerized by the combination of his highly look and style. Hyunjin chuckled as his eyes locked with Y/n's, but his gaze quickly shifted as a random girl tugged his arm forward. His smile glowed in the light, his hands sliding down to the girl's waist. A surge of jealousy coursed through Y/n. She stood up, determined to confront him, but froze as she saw him intimately touching and making out with the girl. Rage bubbled inside her, and she decided to retaliate. Spying a cute guy in the corner, she marched over and began a heated make-out session with him. Hyunjin's eyes darkened as he noticed. With a growl, he pushed the girl away, storming over to Y/n. He forcefully pulled her away from the guy, his grip firm as he dragged her outside to the back of the big house. The night air was cool, but the tension between them was palpable, sizzling with unresolved emotions and jealousy.
"Hey what the fuck Hyunjin? What's your problem?" Y/n scowled, "so your fucking other guys huh?" He questioned. "Like your one to talk." She rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms, deadly with the conversation. "You know, I never realized a whore like you would go to someone after being bored off of my dick!" Hyunjin rages as Y/n just stood there completely advantage. "First of all, don't be putting your words into my fucking mouth hun. Maybe you should fucking reflect on your stupid actions and words before you come at me!" Y/n shouted back. "Don't even dare call me a whore when this is actually the first time I went towards another man besides you! The one that goes to one another women is you, Hyunjin. So don't sit here and call me something when all I've been doing is riding the same dick that other girls a riding!" Y/n screamed her head off as she points her fi her at the man. "I'm going home." Y/n rolled her eyes again, the weight of the argument still heavy on her heart. She turned away, determined to leave the night behind her. Hyunjin let out a frustrated sigh, knowing deep down that she was right about everything. "Babygirl, hold on," he called after her, desperation creeping into his voice. "I'm not your babygirl tonight," she shot back, tears welling up as she made her way to her car. The sight of her hurt him more than he could admit. "Come on, baby, I'm sorry," he pleaded, his heart racing as he sprinted to catch up with her. He reached out, grabbing her wrist gently, feeling the warmth of her skin beneath his fingers. Y/n paused, her back still turned to him, emotions swirling inside her. The tension hung thick in the air, and for a moment, time stood still. "Please," he whispered, his voice barely above a breath. "Just talk to me."
Y/n took a deep breath, her heart pounding as she finally turned to face him. "What do you want me to say, Hyunjin? You were all over that girl!" Her voice trembled, a mix of anger and hurt spilling out. "I know, I messed up," he admitted, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "But it didn’t mean anything. You know that, right?" His eyes searched hers, hoping to find a glimmer of understanding. She shook her head, tears escaping down her cheeks. "It felt like it meant everything. You always do this, and I’m tired of it." Hyunjin stepped closer, his grip on her wrist softening. "I don’t want to lose you. I’ll prove it to you, just give me a chance." Y/n hesitated, the conflict within her raging. Could she trust him again? "You say that every time," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "Then let me show you," he urged, his gaze unwavering. "Let’s forget about tonight. Just us. No distractions." She searched his eyes, her heart aching for the connection they once had. Maybe, just maybe, they could find their way back to each other. "Okay," she finally said, her voice steadier. "But this is your last chance." Hyunjin smiled softly, relief flooding through him. "I won’t let you down, I promise."
Hyunjin leaned in, giving her a soft kiss as his hands planted on the side of her cheek. Y/n held dearly onto the side of his shirt as she kissed back with passion. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of them in that tender moment. The warmth of his lips against hers sent shivers down her spine, and she could feel his heartbeat racing in sync with her own. As their kiss deepened, Hyunjin's hands slid down to her waist, pulling her closer. Y/n responded by wrapping her arms around his neck, pressing her body against his. Their breaths grew heavier, the intensity of their kiss igniting a fire between them. Hyunjin’s fingers traced the curve of her back, sending electric tingles through her skin. Y/n’s hands moved up to tangle in his hair, pulling him even closer as their kiss became more fervent. Breaking the kiss for a moment, Hyunjin's eyes bore into hers, filled with a mix of desire and affection. "I need you, Y/n," he whispered, his voice husky. Y/n's heart raced at his words, and she could feel the heat rising between them. "I'm yours, Hyunjin," she replied breathlessly, before capturing his lips once more in a searing kiss. They were lost in each other, the passion between them undeniable and all-consuming. In that moment, nothing else mattered but the two of them and the love they shared.
Hyunjin’s breath was hot against Y/n’s ear as he whispered, "I need you, Y/n." His voice was thick with desire, sending a shiver down her spine. She could feel the intensity of his need mirrored in her own racing heartbeat. "I'm yours, Hyunjin," she replied breathlessly, before capturing his lips once more in a searing kiss. The world outside their embrace ceased to exist, leaving only the two of them entwined in a dance of passion and longing. Hyunjin’s hands roamed freely, exploring the curves of her body with a hunger that made her pulse quicken. His touch was both gentle and demanding, igniting a fire within her that she could no longer contain. Y/n’s fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, deepening their kiss until it felt like they were sharing the same breath. As their bodies pressed together, the heat between them grew unbearable. Hyunjin’s lips trailed down her neck, leaving a trail of burning kisses that made her gasp. His hands slid under her shirt, his touch sending electric tingles through her skin. "Y/n," he murmured against her collarbone, his voice a mix of urgency and tenderness. "I want you so much it hurts." Y/n’s response was a soft moan of agreement, her body arching into his touch. She could feel every inch of him, the hard planes of his chest, the strength in his arms, and it only fueled her desire. "Take me, Hyunjin," she whispered, her voice trembling with anticipation. With a growl of need, Hyunjin lifted her, carrying her to the nearest flat surface. Their kisses grew more frantic, their movements more desperate as they gave in to the overwhelming desire that consumed them. In that moment, they were lost to everything but each other, their love a blazing inferno that threatened to consume them whole.
Y/n's pulse quickened as Hyunjin's lips trailed down her neck, leaving a trail of fire in their wake. She arched her back, a soft moan escaping her lips as his touch sent shivers down her spine. Every caress, every kiss fueled the growing desire between them. With a hunger that matched her own, Hyunjin's hands roamed over her body, igniting a primal need within her. Their bodies moved in perfect harmony, a dance of passion and longing that seemed to transcend time and space. As the room filled with the sound of their shared breaths and whispered words of longing, Y/n felt a wave of ecstasy wash over her. In that moment, nothing else existed except the intoxicating connection between them, a bond that seemed to grow stronger with each passing second. Their desires intertwined, a symphony of pleasure and yearning that reached a crescendo as they gave in to the irresistible pull drawing them closer. In each other's arms, they found a sanctuary, a place where their souls met in a fiery embrace. Y/n felt the heat radiating between them as Hyunjin pressed her against the wall, their bodies tangled in a frenzy of passion. His hands explored her curves, fingers tracing the lines of her body with a mix of urgency and reverence. "Tell me what you want," he murmured, his breath hot against her ear, sending shivers down her spine. "I want you, Hyunjin," she breathed back, her voice thick with desire. The need in her words ignited something primal in him, and he captured her lips in a fierce kiss, pouring all his longing into that single moment. As he deepened the kiss, Y/n could feel the world around them fading away, leaving only the intoxicating connection that bound them together. Every touch, every kiss was electric, and she could feel the tension building, a delicious ache that begged to be released. Hyunjin's hands moved lower, teasingly grazing her thighs, and she gasped, pulling him closer. "Please," she whispered, her heart racing with anticipation.
Hyunjin chuckled, slowly lifting up her skirt, "My baby is impatient." He licked his lips before rubbing softly on her wet cloth underneath. The teasing touch sent shivers down her spine, her body responding instantly to his skilled fingers. "You like that, don't you?" he whispered, his voice a seductive purr that made her heart race. His touch was both gentle and insistent, each stroke sending waves of pleasure coursing through her. She could feel the heat building, her body aching for more of his touch. As he continued his teasing, Hyunjin's eyes never left hers, the intensity in his gaze making her feel completely exposed and utterly desired. The anticipation was almost too much to bear, and she found herself arching into his touch, silently begging for him to take her further. Hyunjin's fingers danced over her sensitive skin, exploring every inch with a deliberate slowness that drove her wild. He leaned in, his breath hot against her ear, "I love seeing you like this, so needy for me." Her breath hitched as he increased the pressure, his fingers moving with more urgency. The pleasure was almost overwhelming, and she clung to him, her nails digging into his shoulders. "Hyunjin, please," she gasped, her voice trembling with desire. He smiled, clearly enjoying the effect he had on her. "Patience, baby," he murmured, his lips brushing against her neck. "I want to savor every moment." His words only heightened her arousal, and she felt a deep, aching need for him to fulfill the promise of his touch. With a sudden, fluid motion, he removed the barrier between them, his fingers now sliding directly against her heated skin. The sensation was exquisite, and she moaned softly, her body trembling with pleasure. Hyunjin's movements were confident and precise, each touch bringing her closer to the edge. "You're so beautiful like this," he whispered, his voice filled with admiration. "I could watch you all night." His words sent a thrill through her, and she felt herself teetering on the brink of ecstasy, completely at his mercy.
He slid his fingers beneath the fabric of her clothing, igniting a fire within her that had been smoldering for far too long. The moment his fingertip teased her, she gasped, the sound escaping her lips like a plea. "Hyun," she moaned softly, the tension between them reaching a fever pitch. With a devilish grin, Hyunjin expertly explored her body, his fingers dancing over her sensitive skin. Each movement was deliberate, designed to elicit the sweetest sounds from her. The world around them faded away, leaving only the rhythm of their breaths and the symphony of her gasps as he pushed her closer to the edge. Y/n was lost in a haze of pleasure, her mind a whirlwind of sensations that blurred the lines of reality. As his fingers moved in and out of her with increasing urgency, she clutched at his hair, needing something to hold onto as waves of ecstasy crashed over her. "F-Fuckkk, Hyun faster, please!" she begged, her voice a mixture of desperation and desire. Hyunjin's smirk widened, his eyes dark with lust as he watched her unravel beneath his touch. He quickened his pace, reveling in the way her body responded to him. "Oh oh oh!" she cried, the sound echoing in the room as her orgasm built to an unbearable crescendo. When she finally reached her peak, it was as if the world had exploded in a kaleidoscope of colors. Her head fell back against the wall, her legs trembling as he continued to work his fingers within her, prolonging her bliss until she cried out in sensitivity. The sight of her unraveling was a feast for Hyunjin, and he savored every moment. As she caught her breath, Hyunjin stood before her, the remnants of her pleasure glistening on his fingers. He brought them to his lips, licking them clean with a satisfied grin. "You taste good, baby," he purred, his voice dripping with seduction. "Now let's get to my turn." Y/n's gaze dropped, and her heart raced as she took in the sight of his hardening cock, a promise of what was to come. She knew this was just the beginning of a night filled with exploration and ecstasy. With a boldness that surprised even herself, she sank to her knees, ready to take him in.
Her lips wrapped around his cock as she begans to Bob her head up and down. Meanwhile, Hyunjin had a fistful of her hair tightly wrapped into his hand, his groans and moans were all coming out of his mouth. Y/n's skilled tounge swirling and sucking the tip of his cock as she kisses his ball sack. Hyunjin groans again, the shivers that silent creep up his body while he watches in awe at the scene of his baby sucking him off. "Oh fuck, baby- yes, just like that- ugh." He repeats over and over and over. She moans on his cock, Hyunjin felt the vibrations sending waves down. Hyunjin couldn't help but ramming his cock into her mouth. His hand still filled with her hair as he began to buckled up his pace into her mouth. The gag from how deep his tip was reaching at the back of her throat was allowed to be heard with moans. "Oh baby- this mouth! this mouth of yours!" He continues to moan. Hyunjin was on cloud 9. He was having the best suck off from his main women and still he knew all those women can never compare the mouth of Y/n's. "Im gon' cum, oh fuck I'm gonna cum!" He groans as he shoved her face down onto his cock while shooting his hot liquid into her mouth. Y/n slowly drinks it as some left overs were still dripping down her chin. "Good girl." Hyunjin lifted up her chin as Y/n's mouth opened revealing she drunk all of the cum that was shot into her mouth. "Now let's give you your reward." He smiled.
Y/n leaned in front of the house wall as Hyunjin settled behind. Jerking his tip a bit before entering into her womb. He begans to slide his tip into her core as she begans to moan. Now fully entered in, he begans to buckled his hip. The fast past that was settling in was beginning to make Y/n moan louder. The louder it got the faster the pace was getting. Hyunjin held onto Y/n hair while fucking her from behind. "Hyu- ughhhh!" She groaned as she continues, "Oh fuck just like that omg!" She moans and moans, each one getting louder every second. "You like that? You like how deep I go?" Hyunjin asked with a devilish tone. Y/n moaned out the yes as a reply to his question. "Oh fuck I'm gonna cum!" Y/n screams, Hyunjin chuckles as he makes his ramming a faster pace then before. Y/n moaning loudly to the point where it's a bit over the music now, Hyunjin's intense groaning and moans from how good she would tight around him. Hyunjin could live with this for eternity but as he was in his thoughts, Y/n screamed as she released her orgasm. Hyunjin groaned from her tightness but soon came to his end after. Hyunjin painted her core with his hot semen. Y/n soon flopped down to the ground as she continues to catch her breath and soon following behind was Hyunjin himself. Holding on her as he kissed her neck softly leaving some remarks there. "That was amazing." Hyunjin sighed to himself as Y/n replies, "sure is. Let's not get jealous with one another huh?" She looked over cupping his face. "Agreed." He smiled giving her one last kiss before helping her put her clothes back on.

Unlike yesterday, today's schedule had been relentless. You'd finished teaching back-to-back classes and your muscles ached, your mind heavy with the kind of exhaustion that begged for sleep. Every step home felt like a victory, and all you wanted to do was collapse into bed and let the world melt away.
You couldn't allow yourself to entertain the thought of what had happened between you and Hyunjin. Each time your mind threatened to wander back to the moment you rested your head on his shoulder, you quickly shoved it aside, afraid of what it might mean, afraid of what it would unravel inside of you.
But as you opened the door to your apartment, it was clear your plans for a quiet evening weren't going to happen. The unmistakable sound of laughter and the clinking of bottles greeted you, along with the sight of Minho and Felix making themselves comfortable in the living room. Felix's bright smile was almost blinding, holding up a bottle of something that looked way too strong for a Tuesday night. Minho leaned back on the couch, swirling a glass of whiskey with casual confidence. You knew it already. He had no intention of letting you off the hook tonight.
“Finally! We were wondering when you'd get back.” Felix teased, his eyes lighting up as he gestured for you to join them.
“Come on, we’re celebrating,” Minho added, his tone lighter than usual but with an underlying firmness that left little room for argument. “You’ve been running yourself into the ground. Time to loosen up.”
You groaned, dropping your gym bag by the door and kicking off your shoes. “Celebrating what? My impending collapse from exhaustion?”
Felix snickered, patting the seat next to him. “Nope. Celebrating you. We figured you’d be too tired to object, so here we are. Sit. Drink. Relax.”
Minho poured a glass for you without waiting for your response, holding it out as if daring you to refuse. “If nothing else, think of it as a preemptive cure for your bad mood.”
You sighed, the weight of the day still pressing heavily on your shoulders, but their smiles were infectious. Despite everything, you couldn’t help but feel a flicker of gratitude for their efforts to cheer you up. “Fine. But if I fall asleep halfway through, it’s on you two to take care of me.”
You reached for the glass Minho held and lifted it to your lips. The liquid smelt foul, you closed your eyes and downed it in one go.
Felix's deep laugh reverberated through the room as he poured himself another round. “Deal. Now, tell us how your day went before Minho starts lecturing about your lack of work-life balance.”
Minho smirked, raising his glass, the amber liquid swirling under the soft glow of the living room lamp. “It’s a lecture worth giving!” he quipped, his tone carrying that sharp edge of teasing that only he could pull off.
You groaned dramatically, rolling your eyes, but the corners of your lips tugged upward despite yourself. “You’re insufferable, you know that?” You gestured with your empty glass toward him.
He shot you a grin, leaning back against the armrest of the couch, his legs sprawled comfortably. “And yet, here you are, still listening.”
Shaking your head, you slid between Minho and Felix, who had nestled into the opposite corner of the couch with his own drink, the rim of the glass resting lazily against his bottom lip. As you sank into the plush cushions, the fabric cool against your skin, you let out a sigh.
As the evening unfolded, their lighthearted banter and relentless energy started to chip away at the exhaustion clinging to you. Even if you were tired, there was something undeniably comforting about having them here, making you forget, even if just for a little while.
The warmth of the whiskey barely began to settle in your chest when a sharp knock cut through the laughter. Your heart immediately jumped into your throat. You exchanged a glance with Felix, whose eyebrows shot up, and Minho, who frowned and set his glass down.
“I’ll get it,” you murmured, already rising from the couch. The weight of their eyes followed you to the door, and as you pulled it open, there he was. Hyunjin, in all his glory.
He stood in the dim hallway, his long coat damp at the hem from the evening drizzle, hair slightly tousled as though he’d been running his hands through it. In his arms was the canvas—the one he hadn’t finished when you left his studio yesterday. Your breath caught as his gaze locked onto yours, a storm of emotions swirling behind his dark eyes. His plush lips parted, as if he was enamoured in the same way you were.
“Y/N,” he said softly, his voice carrying both urgency and hesitation. “I finished it.”
You hesitated, the doorway suddenly feeling far too small. You could sense Felix and Minho’s curious gazes boring into your back. “Hyunjin, you didn’t have to—”
“I did,” Hyunjin interrupted gently. “It’s yours.” His long fingers gripped the edge of the wrapped canvas as he stretched his arms toward you, offering it like an unspoken apology, a fragile truce. The warmth in his eyes was almost unbearable, and your heart twisted in response.
The raw vulnerability in his tone broke through your defenses, and instead of taking it from him, you stepped aside to let him in. Before he could fully enter, Minho was on his feet, already bristling as he approached the door. You shot him a look.
“You’ve got some fucking nerve showing up here,” Minho growled, his posture tense.
Felix still sat on the couch, his head leant in his hands, already sensing the brewing storm. You winced at Minho's tone but didn’t get a chance to say anything before he advanced on Hyunjin.
Hyunjin straightened, his grip tightening on the canvas. “I didn’t come here to argue. I just wanted to give her this.”
Minho’s laugh was cold, biting. “Oh, let me guess. Another masterpiece of her? Did you paint her like a whore again? Do you want the whole word to see it this time? Plaster it up in a gallery?”
The words were a slap to the face. Minho's words were calculated and mean. Your breath hitched, and Felix immediately shot to his feet, his expression a mixture of shock and anger.
“Minho, what the hell?” Felix snapped, storming to the door and stepping between him and Hyunjin.
Your head spun, the alcohol clouding your thoughts, making it nearly impossible to grasp what the hell was happening.
Hyunjin’s jaw clenched, his knuckles white around the edges of the canvas. He kept his voice low and seething. “What gives you the right to talk about her like that?”
“Me?” Minho’s voice rose, his anger spilling over. “I’ve been here! Watching her tear herself apart over you! Over everything you left behind! Don’t act like you’re some saint for showing up now with another goddamn painting!”
“Stop it!” you shouted, stepping forward. “Both of you, stop!”
Minho wasn’t finished. He scoffed, his lips curling into a bitter sneer. “You think you can just waltz back into her life, throw some paint on a canvas, and fix everything? You're fucking pathetic."
Hyunjin’s eyes burned with fury, his usually calm demeanor shattering as he stepped closer to Minho, closing the distance between them. “Pathetic? Coming from you?” he shot back, his voice sharp as broken glass. “You’ve been sitting on your feelings, haven’t you? Watching her struggle while doing nothing but sulking in your jealousy.”
A sharp gasp escaped your lips. Your gaze darted to your roommate, seeking clarity in his reaction. Minho avoided your eyes entirely, his jaw tight, his fingers curling into fists at his sides. While Felix shifted awkwardly, his expression caught between discomfort and guilt, like he was carrying a secret that wasn’t his to tell. That was all the confirmation you needed. Minho... liked you?
“Jealousy? You’ve got some ego if you think this is about you. I’ve picked up the pieces while you were too busy playing tortured artist somewhere else.” Minho’s jaw tightened, his nostrils flaring.
Hyunjin took another step forward and his voice rose. “I left because I thought it was what she needed. But I’m here now, trying to make things right. What have you done besides use her pain to make yourself feel superior?”
Minho scoffed, his anger bubbling over. “At least I didn’t exploit her. What kind of person paints someone at their most vulnerable and calls it art?"
The room froze and Felix let out a sharp, “Minho, enough!” But it was too late. Hyunjin’s hand twitched at his side, his knuckles whitening as his restraint slipped.
Hyunjin snapped, his voice thundering, “You don’t get to talk about her like that.” His shoulders squared, pulling his body taut like a arrow ready to fire.
Minho stepped closer, chest to chest with Hyunjin now, his voice dripping with venom. “Or what? What are you going to do? Paint another masterpiece?” He spat the word like it was a slur.
Hyunjin’s expression darkened, and for a second, it looked like he might swing.
Felix rushed forward, wedging himself between the two of them with his arms outstretched. “Stop it! Both of you!” he shouted, his voice echoing in the room. “This isn’t helping anyone!”
“Get out of my way, Felix,” Minho growled, but Felix didn’t budge.
“Minho, listen to yourself,” Felix yelled, his tone cutting through the tension. “You’re not mad at him." He pointed to Hyunjin. "You’re mad because you’ve been hiding how you feel, and now it’s blowing up. You need to back off before you say something you’ll regret even more.”
Hyunjin with his chest heaving, pointed a finger at Minho. “You think you care about her? Then stop using her to fuel your self-righteous anger and actually support her.”
“Support her? What like you have?” Minho shot back, but his voice wavered, the heat behind his words faltering.
“Enough!” you finally announced, coming to your senses and stepping between them. Your voice cracked with frustration, your hands trembling as you glanced between the two men. “Both of you—just stop. Please.”
The room fell silent except for the sound of heavy breathing. Minho turned his gaze to you, guilt flickering in his eyes, while Hyunjin’s face softened, his anger melting into something else entirely—remorse.
Felix sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair. “We’re done here,” he muttered, his tone exhausted. He shot a pointed look at Minho. “You need to cool off. Now.”
Minho hesitated, his jaw clenching before he stormed into his room, the door slamming behind him. Lifting a hand to your temples, you rubbed them in small circles, trying to ease the dull ache forming behind your eyes.
Turning to Felix, you caught his gaze. He hesitated, reading the unspoken request in your expression, and then gave you a small, resolute nod. Without a word, he followed after Minho, his footsteps fading as he disappeared into his room.
Hyunjin's gaze settled on you, his voice quiet but steady. “I’m sorry. For all of this.”
You couldn't stand it any longer. The suffocating weight of the argument, the tension, and the silence that followed made your heart race in a way that didn't feel right. Minho’s words echoed in your mind, but they weren’t the ones you wanted to hear. You needed Hyunjin to know that this wasn’t about what Minho said or how angry he got. It was about what you felt and what you still feel.
You swallowed hard, your heart aching as you reached out and touched his hand lightly. “Let’s talk somewhere else,” you whispered, your voice trembling.
Hyunjin nodded, his shoulders slumping as he followed you to the front door, the canvas tucked beneath his arm.
The walk to his apartment felt like hours. A faint hum of distant cars filled the quiet spaces between your steps. You and Hyunjin walked side by side, the tension between you like a thread stretched taut, fragile and trembling. Your hands brushed briefly, an unintentional spark that sent a shiver through you, but neither of you made the move to hold on. A weird middle ground. Neither love nor hate.
Hyunjin broke the silence first, his voice low, almost hesitant. “Did you know? That Minho had feelings for you?” He didn’t look at you as he spoke, his gaze fixed on the pavement ahead. “It was obvious as ever to me.”
Your breath hitched, and you turned to him, searching his face for any hint of humor or misunderstanding. But he wasn’t joking—his expression was serious, tinged with something deeper, something that tugged at your chest.
“Even when we were together,” he added, even quieter now. His words were tinged with a bitterness that felt out of place for him. Heavy and undeniable.
You stopped walking, forcing him to pause as well, and turned to face him fully. “Hyune…” you began, but the words felt stuck in your throat. Did you know? Maybe. Subconsciously. But to hear it like this, now, from him, it made your chest ache in a way you couldn’t quite place.
You hesitated before asking, tugging your coat tighter. “Is that another reason you left?”
The air bit into your cheeks, cold and unwavering. You recognised he wore his heart on his sleeve, but it felt as though the wrong response could shatter what little balance remained between you. He continued walking.
Hyunjin exhaled heavily, his breath forming a mist in the crisp evening air. The dim glow of the streetlights cast long shadows on the path ahead, their golden hues flickering as the breeze whispered through the trees. His hands were tucked deep into his coat pockets, and his steps slowed, matching the hesitance in his voice. He halted, then turned to face you.
“I thought you deserved better than me,” he admitted, his words laced with quiet regret. “I knew it was just my own insecurities, but… I couldn’t shake it. Minho—he was always steady, always knew how to make you laugh, how to be there for you. And me? I was this mess, trying to juggle my art and ambitions, feeling like I’d never measure up.”
You caught the way his jaw tightened as he spoke. He looked at the ground as though the words themselves were a weight he’d been carrying for too long. You wanted to reach out to him, wrap your arms around his torso and breath him in—the faint scent of strawberries and mint.
"I think I—," He cleared his throat, tapping his shoe against the slick pavement. "Well, I sort of hoped you two would get together so I could prove a point to myself that I was right."
His confession struck you. Gooseflesh peppered your skin and an uncomfortable feeling crawled its way up your throat. How could he think that? even for a second? He began walking once more, and you followed in tow.
The path curved gently ahead, lined with bare trees that reached for the night sky. An occasional car passed by on the road nearby, headlights cutting through the darkness. The rhythmic crunch of gravel underfoot was the only sound for a moment as his words settled between you.
“You could’ve talked to me,” you murmured, your voice steady but tinged with sadness. “I would’ve listened, Hyune. I would’ve understood.”
He stopped walking and turned to you, his eyes searching yours, glistening under the soft glow of a nearby streetlamp. “I was scared, Y/N,” he admitted, his voice breaking slightly. “Scared you’d see me the way I saw myself. Scared you’d realize you were better off without me before I was ready to let you go.”
Your chest tightened, and you blinked away the sting of tears, your gaze dropping to the ground. “You didn’t even give me the chance to decide that for myself,” you whispered, clenching your fists by your side.
Hyunjin reached out, his fingers brushing against your arm as though he was testing if he still had permission to touch you. His touch was warm despite the cold, and you looked up at him again, finding a raw honesty in his expression that you hadn’t seen in a long time.
The two of you stood there, caught in the quiet chaos of your unresolved emotions. Hyunjin gave you a small, tentative smile, his hand lingering. “You have no idea how much I’ve missed you.”
He hooked his pinky with yours and you almost breathed a sigh of relief at his touch. Your heart ached at his words, and without thinking, you reached up to brush a strand of onyx hair from his face, your fingers lingering longer than necessary. The air between you felt electric, charged with all the things left unsaid, all the years apart, and the unspoken truth that no matter what, something between you felt alive.
"I like your black hair," you admitted, your voice softer than usual. You couldn't help but admire how it framed his face, though you didn’t want to admit just how striking it made him look. The slit in his eyebrow only added to the allure of his features, making him even more captivating in a way you didn’t want to acknowledge.
He blinked at you, his hand instinctively running through his hair as if he hadn’t expected the compliment. "Thanks," he breathed out, a slight flush creeping up his neck. His eyes darted down for a moment, clearly a little thrown off by your comment.
You quickly looked away, feeling the heat rise in your cheeks, hoping he wouldn't notice and continued strolling along the path. The streetlights reflected the water of the night's earlier drizzle.
His gaze followed you, and a small, shy smile tugged at the corner of his lips. “It suits me?” he asked, almost as if he couldn’t quite believe it.
You glanced back at him. "Yeah, it suits you well," you muttered, though the words felt strange on your tongue, too soft for the tension which hung between you two.
His apartment building radiated a sense of chic-ness, white marble and trimmed hedges lined the entrance. A lot different from how you remembered it. Although, the familiar creak of stairs echoed in the otherwise quiet hallway.
As you both reached the entrance to his apartment building, the weight of the silence between you felt heavier, more pressing, though neither of you seemed eager to break it. The dim light from the hallway cast long shadows on the walls, and with each step up, the sound of your footsteps reverberated, filling the space.
Hyunjin walked just a few steps ahead, his fingers still gripping the canvas tightly. You couldn’t help but notice how his grip tightened every time you drew closer, like he was holding onto something precious, something fragile— like how it would've been if he held onto you.
You followed him, your mind swimming with thoughts—of the evening, of everything that happened, and the words left unsaid. You could feel the heat of his presence just ahead of you as you both approached the door to his apartment.
He reached the door first, hesitating for a brief moment as if contemplating whether to say something. But when he turned to face you, his expression softened.
"Come in," he murmured, stepping aside to let you in. His voice was quiet but welcoming, as though he was offering you the space to breathe, to feel safe again.
You stepped over the threshold, the door creaking slightly as he pushed it open. As you entered, you immediately noticed the change in the atmosphere—his apartment, though familiar, felt different now, more intimate, more charged. The slight hum of an old refrigerator in the corner filled the silence that followed you both into the room.
Hyunjin carefully set the canvas down on the nearby dining table, his fingers brushing lightly over the edges as if it was something delicate, something important.
Without a word, he turned to you, his eyes searching your face, waiting for you to speak, to fill the void left by the quiet. You couldn't even spare a glance at the canvas, too intertwined with your own thoughts and feelings.
Hyunjin’s apartment felt suffocating and intimate all at once. The scent of paint and faint traces of lavender lingered in the air, grounding you in a place that once was distant but now felt overwhelmingly close.
You stood in the middle of the room, your arms loosely wrapped around yourself like a fragile shield. Behind you, the canvas he’d brought sat on the table, the strokes of his art silently judging. Across the room, Hyunjin leaned lightly against the dining table, his knuckles brushing its edge as though grounding himself. His dark eyes never left you, and their intensity made your stomach churn with nerves.
“What are we doing, Hyune?” Your voice cracked, barely more than a whisper, the words trembling with the confusion and vulnerability you couldn't keep bottled inside. Your lips quivered, tugging downward as the tears you fought threatened to spill.
“I don’t know what to do with this,” you admitted, your voice thick with emotion. “I don’t know how to be with you again.” The truth of your words hung in the air, raw and echoing in the quiet room.
Hyunjin moved toward you with careful steps, closing the distance with a deliberate tenderness that made your breath catch. He stopped just short of touching you, his presence overwhelming and his gaze heavy.
“I don’t know how to make this easy,” he admitted, his voice low and steady, tinged with vulnerability. “But I know I don’t want to keep pretending I’m fine without you.”
His hand lifted, hesitating for a moment before cupping your face gently, his thumb brushing the edge of your jaw. The warmth of his touch sent a shiver through you, your body betraying the turmoil in your heart.
“You don’t have to know right now,” he murmured, his eyes searching yours, pleading for understanding. “I’ll wait for you. I’ll wait as long as it takes. I just… I need you to know that I’m here. I’m not going anywhere.”
The words cracked something open inside you, and a tear slipped free, trailing down your cheek. He caught it with his thumb, his touch so tender it made your knees weak.
Your hand instinctively came up to his, holding it against your cheek. “You make it sound so easy, Hyune,” you said, your voice trembling.
“It’s not,” he confessed, his forehead coming to rest against yours. His breath mingled with yours, warm and steady, grounding you in the moment. “But it’s worth it. You’re worth it. Always have been.”
The room seemed to shrink around you, the walls closing in, but not in a way that suffocated. Instead, it felt like the world was forcing you together, creating a space where nothing else mattered.
Without thinking, you leaned into him, your lips brushing his in the softest of kisses. It wasn’t rushed or desperate but slow, filled with the kind of longing that had been buried for far too long.
His arms slid around your waist, pulling you closer as he deepened the kiss, pouring everything he couldn’t say into it. The table, the paint, the world beyond the apartment—all of it melted away. There was only Hyunjin, holding you as if letting go wasn’t an option.

Misunderstood
Tumblr media
The bell above the door jingled as you stepped into the little coffee shop inside your company, the warm air wrapping around you like a comforting blanket. Sunlight filtered through the windows, illuminating the rustic wooden tables and the eclectic mix of mismatched chairs. You loved this place; it was your escape, a perfect spot to unwind with a book or catch up with friends.
After ordering your usual, you settled into a corner table, your laptop open in front of you. Gripping your coffee, you attempted to concentrate on your work, but your mind kept wandering back to the whispers surrounding Hyunjin.
He had joined just last week, but already, suspicions clung to him like shadows, swirling in the air like the steam from the espresso machine. With his tall frame and striking features, he emanated an intensity that made people step back. The rumors—some claiming he had served time in prison, others hinting at a troubled past—buzzed around the café, igniting both fear and curiosity.
Despite the opinions swirling around you, you didn’t buy into the gossip. Your company was known for its integrity; they wouldn’t hire someone who didn’t deserve a chance. Yes, Hyunjin had an almost intimidating presence, with his buzz cut and fire-like eyes, but the truth was, judging someone by appearances was a simple mistake.
Sitting at your usual spot, fingers nervously tapping the table, you found yourself stealing glances at the new intern. There was something captivating about him, an unintentional allure thanks to a tattoo peeking from beneath his sleeve, only adding to an aura of mystery.
Today, your heart skipped a beat as you noticed Hyunjin stepping out from behind the counter, his eyes scanning the room with an intensity that sent a thrill through you. As he caught your gaze, a spark of connection ignited between you. You quickly returned to your screen, but it was too late; he was already approaching your table, energy crackling in the air around him.
“Mind if I join you?” he asked, his voice low and surprisingly soft, sending a shiver of anticipation down your spine.
“Of course,” you stammered, doing your best to appear casual, even as butterflies fluttered in your stomach.
Settling into the chair across from you, he leaned forward slightly, resting his forearms on the table, an amused smirk dancing on his lips. “You look deep in thought. Working on a grand mystery?”
“Just… some projects,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper, unable to hold his gaze for long as the weight of the rumors lingered between you.
He studied you for a moment, his dark eyes filled with an intensity that made your heart race. “You know, people talk. I hear things,” he said, leaning back slightly.
Your breath caught in your throat at his directness. “Yeah, I’ve heard a few things.”
“Like what, exactly?” he pressed, curiosity shining in his gaze, the vulnerability of his tone pulling you in.
You hesitated, the rumors whirling in your mind. “Um… that you spent time in prison?”
He let out a soft chuckle, yet it didn’t quite reach his eyes, which held a flicker of something deeper. “That’s one of the nicer things people say about me.”
“Is it true?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper, drawn in by the layers of mystery surrounding him.
“Does it matter?” He leaned forward, the intensity of his gaze holding you captive. “I’m here now; what I did before doesn’t define me.”
Your heart raced, understanding dawning on you. “But… people find it hard not to be scared when those kinds of rumors are flying around.”
His expression softened, like clouds parting to let sunlight break through. “I get it. Sometimes, when you look a certain way and carry a past, people jump to conclusions. But what if the true story is something entirely different?” His vulnerability swept over you like a gentle wave.
The weight of his words hung between you, pulling at your heartstrings. “Then I want to know,” you said softly, your heart steadying. “I want to see the real you, beyond the rumors.”
Surprise flickered in his eyes, and he leaned back, crossing his arms with a hint of amusement. “Not many people are willing to do that. Most would rather keep their distance.”
“Maybe they’re simply scared of what they don’t understand,” you suggested, feeling a surge of courage. “But I want to dig deeper. Sometimes, the most beautiful truths lie buried beneath the scariest stories.”
He smiled, his eyes lighting up with genuine warmth that made your heart flutter. “You really think there’s beauty in my past?”
“Perhaps,” you replied, newfound strength coursing through your veins. “We all have our shadows, but it’s how we choose to embrace them that defines us.”
Hyunjin regarded you thoughtfully, and you sensed the atmosphere shift; the tension dissipated, replaced by an unspoken understanding. “That’s a refreshing perspective,” he remarked, the admiration in his tone making you blush. “Most people don’t think like that.”
“Maybe they should,” you said, a slow smile spreading across your face, finding comfort in the connection that was blossoming between you. “You’re not who they think you are, and I can’t wait to uncover the layers of the real you.”
As the minutes passed, the initial fear that had surrounded him melted away, replaced by a warmth that radiated between you. Suddenly, Hyunjin laughed, breaking the moment. “What’s so funny?” he teased, his grin infectious. “The idea that a company like this would hire someone fresh out of prison?”
You felt heat rise to your cheeks, the jovial atmosphere engulfing you. “I thought the same! I knew it couldn’t possibly be true,” you admitted, unable to hide your embarrassment.
He chuckled again, his playful energy making your heart race. “The way you reacted when I sat down, though—I almost thought you agreed.”

❀ summary: Hyunjin never expected falling in love to be so…peaceful. Like a feather blown in the breeze, slowly and gently settling to the ground. He expected it to be harsh, dramatic, and loud. He expected one day for a brick to plummet in his heart with a You're in love! written in big bold letters.
❀ warnings: long ass story, physical descriptors being used but no name, they could be ooc i am not a skz expert, mentions of other kpop bands & people i have no clue about, almost 5k words 💀
❀ notes: i took multiple months to write this and i might have to separate it into multiple parts bc it is annoyingly long. I dunno if its super good but I wrote it for my bestie who loves hyunjin 😁

Hyunjin never expected falling in love to be so…peaceful. Like a feather blown in the breeze, slowly and gently settling to the ground. He expected it to be harsh, dramatic, and loud. He expected one day for a brick to plummet in his heart with a You're in love! written in big bold letters.
But watching her, with her fluffy purple hair and glittering dark eyes, he couldn't help but picture falling in love like cozying up against a fireplace after a long day playing in the snow. Falling in love with her felt easy. It felt like something he'd known all his life without fully realizing.
It was unfortunate that they seemed to be in entirely different realms. She was an American streamer with funny jokes and a big smile. He was a Korean idol who could barely utter a word lest the public eye shun him. Sure, it had gotten better since JYP had passed his entertainment industry to his much more progressive daughter, but still.
His fingers idly curl around his pencil, light strokes against the thick pad of his sketchbook as he watches her most current stream. She was with her friends, having a simple talk with her fans. It reminded him of the lives he did for his own fans, although he was sure her videos were not as filtered.
“Oh my favorite music? I have really liked K-pop since I was in middle school.” she says, her lips curving into that grin that never failed to send butterflies to his stomach. Of course, this led comments to flood all of them asking about her favorites.
“My favorite when I was in high school was Stray Kids,” She explained, making Hyunjin’s heart lurch in his chest. He set his drawing supplies down, fully turning to look at her as if studying the pixels of the screen might help him understand the real her better.
He caught a glance at the comments, asking who her bias was (something he has shamefully been tempted to do) and sat silently hoping she'd answer the question.
The heavens must have been looking out for him because she said, her voice like a melody made by Apollo, “My bias is Hyunjin though I love them all.”
Was he dreaming? Should he get Felix to pinch him? He shook off his thoughts, trying to clear his mind to make sure he heard you right. You kept talking about how you liked Stray Kids as a teenager, how they helped you through difficult times. Hyunjin struggled to understand the way his heart beat in his chest, the swell of pride in his stomach.
He took a glance at his unfinished sketch, yet another futile attempt at capturing the beauty of you. He could never feel like he got it quite right. He needed it to be perfect. One crafted by the gods must be worshiped, not tolerated.
Hyunjin continued to watch your stream until it ended, although his mind was still focused on that moment. It repeated in his head like a broken record, one that he was grateful had broken. If he was to be stuck in one moment eternally, he would choose that one easily.
As though he had been summoned, Felix bounced into Hyunjin's room. He wore a big smile, ready to poke and prod Hyunjin as if they were blood related brothers. However, the older boy was on a mission, and it could not be interrupted.
“Have you heard of this streamer..?” Hyunjin asked, her name slipping past his lips easily. Felix, as chronically online as he is, nodded that he had. Settling the nerves in his stomach, Hyunjin knew he ought to explain.
And so he did. Multiple times, actually, because Felix decided to involve the entirety of the band. Hyunjin couldn't even be that upset. They were a close-knit family. And he knew they would help him.
….
He was fairly certain that everybody around him was fully and clinically insane but he couldn't bring himself to care in the slightest bit. Somehow, he had managed to get an entire event hosted by JYP, which invited all sorts of streamers….namely her.
Although Hyunjin couldn't guarantee she would show up, he was certainly hoping against all odds. So was the rest of the Stray Kids.
“Hyunjin’s got a crush~” Bangchan teased, wrapping his arm around Hyunjin's neck and bringing him closer so he could ruffle his hair. Hyunjin laughed while he tried to wriggle out of the older boy's hold.
Finally, he got out of his hold, just as Hwa-Young entered. She was dressed as formally as ever, a crisp suit and perfectly styled hair.
“Please treat all our guests with respect and understand that the reason they are here is to advertise JYP Entertainment and the music festival at the end of the weekend.” She explained, letting her eyes travel across the people here. All bands under her company had been gathered to discuss this, making for quite the large display.
Hyunjin listened carefully, knowing that part of the reason was so she would come to South Korea. All expenses paid trip in exchange for her to advertise and spread publicity for JYP. He hoped she would spend time with Stray Kids the most.
After she had finished discussing basic ground rules for having a bunch of American social media influencers all around for two entire weeks, she gave a smile and said they would be arriving later that afternoon. It would be a lot, but it would be good for getting international fans for some of the lesser known bands.
All Hyunjin could do was pour all his emotions into the dance rehearsal while he waited to meet her for the first time. Each step helped make him stop overthinking, terribly anxious thoughts plaguing his head.
He just kept moving, making his blood flow through his body. He focused on each step of the dance until it was etched into his bones. Eventually, he had to succumb to the natural progression of exhaustion all humans must deal with. It was conveniently timed because the influencers were starting to arrive.
He wiped off some of his sweat with his shirt and took a swig of his water. Then he walked with the rest of the band with the hopes he didn't look gross.
…..
His eyes immediately darted to her as the crowd emerged, her arm wrapped around her friends’. She was even more breathtaking in person, the red of her shirt complimenting her skin. She wore black cargo pants with a metal chain wrapped around her belt loops, with red combat boots, and a red off the shoulder, slightly oversized top. Hyunjin tried to suppress his smile, happy that she was even fashionable just like him.
Bangchan hurried over to them before he had a chance, after he was the leader and the most sociable of the group. Without thinking much of it, Hyunjin followed closely behind with the rest of the Stray Kids.
“Hi!” Bangchan said, greeting both women with a hug. They accepted it with warmth, both being enveloped by Chan. Hyunjin watched from his spot, trying to stop him from running away screaming. She was rather intimidating!
I really need to go say hi. I don't want to seem unfriendly. He frowned a bit, trying to get his feet to move. With a small burst of relief, he felt himself move closer.
He was standing in front of her, in all her gorgeous glory. She was shorter than him, her head tilting up so she could see his face. Hyunjin wanted to paint her and capture her beauty forever. He wanted to study every feature and examine every inch of her. He wanted to worship her.
Hyunjin’s face flushed when she waved at him, suddenly making him realize where his train of thoughts had been going. He couldn't possibly expect to memorize her body if she didn't even know what he's like beyond a stage presence. (He wondered if they had ever met before, if she had gone to a concert long ago.)
“Hi.” He finally said, pushing the words off of his tongue and into the world. It sounded awkward and shy, like he sometimes felt when placed in front of a camera. Hyunjin wished he could be the painter instead of the muse sometimes.
She smiled brightly, her cheeks curving to allow such a beautiful expression. He was sure he had died and gone to heaven. Why else would an angel look at him so beautifully? He tried to ignore the blood rushing in his ears and hoped that it wasn't obvious he was warming up feverishly. (Would she mind if he kissed her? Just a small one, just to get a taste.)
“It's nice to meet you, Hyunjin.” She said, still looking up at him, “I've been a big fan for years.”
Maybe this was all a very big dream. Maybe the Sandman had decided to give Hyunjin something to enjoy, and he gave him…her. If this was a dream, Hyunjin didn't want to wake up. If the only way he could be in the presence of this woman was through his fantasies, so be it.
Oh, I still have to reply.
Bangchan glanced at Hyunjin expectantly, probably wondering why he was forgetting to speak. His brain was so full of thoughts that he couldn't help the way he got sidetracked.
“Well I am a big fan of you too.” He said with a smile, “I like your streams.” Was that too honest? Would she feel uncomfortable by his confession? He'll repent if she needs him to wash his hands with holy water and pray his awkwardness goes away.
She looked a bit shocked, her warm brown eyes widening ever so slightly. But then she warmed up again, like chocolate melting on his tongue. She was comforting without even realizing it.
“Who would've thought we'd be fans of each other?” she said with a shrug and a laugh before eventually moving on to greet the rest of the people. He wished he could make her stay, say something so stunning she can't help but feel transfixed by him.
Instead, he watched her walk away, trying to ignore the way his heart deflated. It made sense that she needed to walk away and do what she needed to do. It was understandable.
…..
The first day of advertisement was pretty boring. Hyunjin doesn't like to complain much, but he barely got the chance to hang out with her, and he was stuck going over plans. There were a lot of conference meetings, with stale cookies and uncomfortable seating. (He wondered if that was what it's like to work an office job - he's suddenly glad to be an idol.)
“Can we go home soon?” Han whined, already flopping on top of a displeased I.N. Hyunjin couldn't help but understand Han's frustration. They had been holed up for hours doing nothing.
Hwa-Young nodded in sympathy and said, “One more thing to discuss, then you can return to your dorms.”
Hyunjin perked up a bit at this, happy that today was almost over. He had been hoping to spend more time with his love, but she had been placed with the also influencers on the other side of the conference room. His eyes flickered to her as if he were a moth drawn to a flame.
She was listening intently to Hwa-Young, her arms crossed across her chest. She looked more relaxed, maybe even a bit sleepy, based on the way her eyes started to flutter shut. She was so pretty, and Hyunjin would be happy to die if it meant he could look at her forever.
“We have hotels for everybody. Listen carefully to your name so you can retrieve your housing information.” Hwa-Young explained before she started to talk about everybody. Soon, all the streamers left, all of them except for her and her friend.
Hwa-Young blinked in surprise, reading over her list once more before she flushed. Hyunjin watched with a bit of confusion, wondering what happened.
“I am terribly sorry, miss.” Hwa-Young said, hurrying over to whisper in the woman's ear. They talked quietly before Hwa-Young turned to face the bands.
“Will anybody volunteer to house these lovely ladies?” Hwa-Young announced, making Hyunjin’s heart fail. Maybe he was going into cardiac arrest because what the fuck?
Before Hyunjin could even begin to process Changbin stood up, with Bangchan giving an encouraging smile. Oh no, oh no no no.
“Hyunjin can take them in, as long as they are comfortable with it.” Changbin said, giving a charming smile to the foreigners. He was annoyingly friendly, like a gym bro teddy bear or something.
It didn't take long to convince her and her friend, Changbin was very good at charming people. She smiled and said, “Oh if he offers I would enjoy that very much. But I don't want to intrude.”
Hyunjin forced himself to speak, opening his mouth and saying, “It's not intruding. You can stay with me and Changbin.”
He didn't want to do this. He needed to escape her even for a moment. What if his heart gives out from racing so much? Hyunjin did not want her to stay with him, to leave him without any way to stay calm. But he would be kind (mostly because Changbin forced his hand.)
“Thank you, that's very nice.” Her friend also added, still standing beside her. Hyunjin noticed his love’s friend seemed to be rather awkward, looking anywhere but at the group of people before them. He supposed he could understand, but he hoped Changbin might get along with her. Hyunjin would be housing his favorite person in the whole wide world.
Maybe that's a bit aggressive to say though, she may bias Hyunjin but that doesn't mean she likes him all that much. So Hyunjin kept his thoughts locked up tight, not wanting a single one to slip through the cracks.
“Well, now that it's all settled we can head home.” Hwa-Young said with a smile and a clap of her hands. She stood up along with the other idols, all heading to their various dorms.
“Well, I guess we'll be off.” Bangchan said with a sly grin, having the other members follow behind him like ducklings following their mother. It was just Hyunjin and her, well and her friend and Changbin. But they were basically alone!
“Do you want to head to the dorm now?” Hyunjin finally asked, hoping his expression was calm and collected. Basically, it's the opposite of how he was feeling.
She nodded and allowed Changbin to lead the way with her friend following close behind. She walked side by side with Hyunjin, her hand brushing against his.
Surely he would explode, his heart would inhale until it was bursting with excitement. Hyunjin was totally going to die over this weekend. But maybe it wouldn't be that bad.
…..
He did not get a single wink of sleep that night. All he could think about was the fact she was sleeping outside his room, on the couch. She was so close to him, how could he possibly be expected to sleep?
Hyunjin got dressed the next morning, not being sure what to expect. What sort of videos might they film today? Who would he be filming them with?
With a yawn, he exited his room and noticed that she was not there. She must have gone already.
Changbin was waking up around the same time, stretching his muscular arms. His black hair was a bit messy and curled, since it was without the products he puts his hair in.
“Are we heading to the studio today?” Hyunjin asked the older man, tilting his head slightly. Maybe they would be showing the influencers new dances or something. Or maybe they would be writing songs and collaborating. There were many things they might do.
“Yeah, and we're late so c'mon.” Changbin said, walking towards the door and wrapping his arm around Hyunjin's neck. He dragged the younger boy with him, despite Hyunjin's attempts at getting free.
Hyunjin groaned, but allowed Changbin to ruffle his hair and do all the things he usually does. He is like a strange older brother, with the way he likes to tease and is awfully goofy. But Hyunjin likes it.
They walked quickly to the studio, remembering that the boys often left clothes there. So they would be able to change once they were there.
Once they arrived, Hyunjin felt incredibly underdressed compared to her. She was wearing a lavender chunky sweater with a black mini skirt and black tights. She was so elegant and pretty, he couldn't help but feel awkward still dressed in his lounge wear.
She smiled upon seeing Hyunjin, making his heart swell with a strange sort of fuzzy feeling he was unused to. Sure, he always felt warm and safe with the other members of Stray Kids. But this was a sort of feeling that made him want to wrap it around himself like a blanket. It was so lovely.
“What are we doing today?” He asked, momentarily forgetting he should probably apologize for being late or maybe he should get ready instead of staring at her with a look of amazement. He was certain his eyes had glazed over and he had his lips parted, staring as if she had just descended from heaven.
“Oh we are going to be doing some Tik Tok dances together then later we are going to do a kitchen stream,” She explained, her voice confident and self assured. Hyunjin wasn't completely inept when it comes to social media but this still wasn't his speciality. She was in her realm and bringing him in, despite his confusion.
“Oh,” He nodded, only half understanding what she meant. But he didn't want to look dumb in front of her- he wanted her to be impressed. A stream about kitchens? How strange, but if it worked for her Hyunjin would do it without complaint.
“While you get changed, I'll set up the camera.” She said with her lips curved up with a delightful grin. How was he expected to function when she looked at him like that? Like she saw him as more than an idol. Perhaps he was as deluded as his fans, but he wondered if there was a chance she liked him as he liked her.
Hyunjin nodded and moved away, wanting to get dressed as quickly as possible so he could spend time with her. She was calmer in real life, or maybe that's because she needs to be professional. (He wants to uncover each facet of her personality, to peel away the layers until he is greeted with her, the whole and true of her soul.)
..
“I regret doing dances with professional dancers,” She grumbled, taking a swig of water. Hyunjin watched her from behind, trying his best to not let his eyes stay on her for too long.
“You're doing great,” he said, with an attempt at an encouraging smile. She definitely wasn't a dancer like he was, but she was trying her best. And he was sure fans would find her attempts at doing the Beabadoobee dance to be amusing.
“Well, it's okay since we are going to do the cooking video now.” She explained, turning to look at Hyunjin. Her brown eyes were shimmering delightfully, reminding him of dark glittering jewels. He could stare at her for hours and never get bored, memorizing every line of her face would be the best of tasks.
“What are we going to make?” Hyunjin asked, following her to the kitchen. The other members of Stray Kids were working with other streamers and influencers, doing a variety of activities from singing to doing the hear me out trend.
“Empanadas.” She hummed in reply, pulling Hyunjin’s thoughts back to her. He was like a moth to a flame, helplessly attracted to her. He was weak against her attacks, her ability to reel him in constantly impressive.
She pulled out ingredients while Hyunjin turned on the camera, flickering it onto a stream. A steady flow of viewers came in, making the count get higher and higher. He wished his English was better so he could better read the constant stream of comments in the corner of the screen.
“Hi everybody! Welcome or welcome back depending on if you're new here.” she said, glancing at Hyunjin, “Today's stream is extra special because I have a guest with me! Hwang Hyunjin from the band Stray Kids!”
The chat spammed with excitement, using a lot of smiling emojis and capital letters. He smiled at the camera, trying not to get suddenly shy. He was used to being in the public eye- just not used to it with his crush right next to him.
They got started, with her giving Hyunjin instructions and working carefully on the empanadas. He did as he was told, trying to focus on making food while also appearing entertaining. (How did she do this on a daily basis? At least Hyunjin has his other members to lean on whenever he gets tired. She works alone and works constantly.)
“Guys, stop.” She scolded suddenly, causing him to turn around so he can read what's happening in the chat. He read a few of the comments, a flush rising in his cheeks. Were.they teasing her for having a crush on him? He was so bewildered he didn't realize he had been staring blankly at the screen until she made a noise.
She said to Hyunjin, “Okay, I will admit I had a crush on you back when I was in highschool. Hopefully that will appease chat enough for them to stop bothering us.”
She sent a playfully stern look at the camera, unaware of the way Hyunjin felt like he was going to explode. She had a crush on him when she was in highschool. Which meant she used to have feelings for him. Holy shit.
The rest of the day went by extraordinarily quickly, but perhaps that's just how it felt since he was still distracted by the revelation. Did she still have feelings for him? How deep of a crush did she have back then? Had she talked about it before and how had he not noticed if she had? He watched her videos almost religiously, he couldn't possibly have missed a video of her talking about him. He would have remembered surely!
He couldn't get to sleep for the second night in a row. He was busy thinking about what he learned, how she used to have a crush on him. Maybe he was just overthinking, maybe it didn't matter that she had a crush on him in highschool.
But he couldn't let it go no matter how hard he tried. There was a strange feeling in the smallest part of his heart that told him she still felt the same.
…..
“Hyunjin,” Han said suddenly, snapping his fingers to get his friend's attention. Hyunjin turned around, flustered that he was very likely caught staring at her. It didn't help that she was working with TWICE so close by. He could probably feel the warmth of her skin, smell her perfume. Hyunjin was trying his very best to not get distracted.
“What do you need?” Hyunjin asked, stretching his arms. They were doing some sort of challenge where they needed to run and sing at the same time. It sounded complicated but it could be helpful for when they would go on for a concert.
“You should tell her how you feel.” Han replied, looking up with a rather serious look. He had his arms crossed in front of his chest, tapping his foot against the wooden floors. Hyunjin’s eyes widened, his lips parting a bit with shock.
Was Han serious? Did he actually expect me to bare my soul to the girl of my dreams so casually?
“Why? She probably doesn't like me back.” Hyunjin dismissed with a wave of his hand, looking away as though he couldn't fathom admitting this while making eye contact. Feelings are so troublesome it seems.
Han laughed and put his hand on his friend's shoulder, still staring so intently at him. “You can't be serious, Jinnie. She has fallen for you, almost as hard as you have for her.”
He turned away to look at her. She was busy with Momo, helping the girl do some sort of silly TikTok. However, what Hyunjin noticed when he also turned was the fact she was looking at them.
Her mouth broke into a smile and she paused enough to wave at Hyunjin, acting so casual despite the fact she was setting his heart on fire. Did she really feel the same way? Could she possibly want Hyunjin the way he wants her?
Hyunjin looked back at Han, and grumbled in a low tone, “How would I confess to her anyway?”
Han grinned at that, clapping his hands together. The shorter boy said, “Do what feels right to you, Hyunjin. What's a good way to confess?”
Then he walked away, returning to the influencer they were working with currently. Hyunjin stood in place, feeling almost as if there was cement in his bones keeping him still.
How would he confess? Should he write a letter to her? Maybe he should march over there and demand they go on a date! Okay..maybe that's a bad idea. But still, how should he confess?
She will only be around for the concert tomorrow and then she'll be returning to America. Suddenly he faltered, his heart racing with excitement.
What if…? Hyunjin could barely contain his sudden happiness, wanting to already put his plan into action.
…..
“This was a bad idea.” Hyunjin said, attempting to wrangle himself out of Changbin's strong grip so he could avoid getting on stage. It was a futile attempt, with the older man wrapping his arms around Hyunjin's shoulders.
“Nope, you're doing this.” Changbin said, shoving Hyunjin even closer to the stage. There was no getting out of this- he was going to confess to her.
“Fine, fine.” Hyunjin relented, pushing Changbin away with a half hearted glare. Then he shook his hands, trying to be rid of the nerves rattling around his chest.
He walks onto stage, ignoring the way his heart was pounding against his ribs. Looking up, he immediately found her. She was as beautiful as always, staring up at him with awe. He needed to do this - he needed to confess properly.
He said her name like one might a god, worshipping the shape of the vowels on his tongue. “I love you, so very much. I wish to be with you forever, and so I sing this for you.”
Then Hyunjin did what he does best: sing. He chose to sing Ice Cream, knowing it was one of her favorite songs after he had done his research. He put his soul into the lyrics, every ounce of his love into the silky tones of his voice.
…..
After the concert, he was greeted by her. She was a vision, something he wished to see in his mind's eye every time he goes to sleep. He might dream of her forever, use her as solace from the grim realities of the world. If he had her, he might be able to survive anything.
“You love me?” She asked, reaching out to grab his hands. Sparks shot through his fingertips, warm rushing through him wherever she touched.
Hyunjin nodded and said, “Yes, I do. I have loved you for a long time.”
She took a moment to process his words, squeezing his hands. She kept touching him, even the slightest brush of skin sending shockwaves directly to his heart. She was so lovely and she was holding his hands, was she trying to give him a heart attack?
“I love you too, Hyunjin.” She whispered, looking up at him. Her brown eyes glistened with an intense emotion, and something he is finally realizing is love. She stared up at him with a sense of adoration he had only dreamed of previously.
He leaned down, feeling her breath warning his cheek. He wanted to stay like this forever, holding her hands and keeping his face close to hers. With a small dose of courage, potentially regrettable or not, he leaned in close enough to kiss her.
He brushed his lips over hers, savoring the taste of her chapstick. He removed his hands from hers to hold her hips, pulling her flush against him.
She kissed him back, her hands pressing into his chest. She was so perfect, and she was his now, his to love and his to care for.
He pulled away and leaned his forehead against hers, letting his eyes flutter shut. This was everything he had ever wanted and more. If this wasn't heaven, he wasn't sure what was.
“Will you give me the honor of being your boyfriend?” He asked softly, still holding her close. If he could put her inside his heart, he could.
“As long as you'll let me be your girlfriend.” She replied, curling her fingers into his hair. Hyunjin could barely think, barely do anything except get her closer and closer. He wanted her, and now he had her. He was the luckiest man in the world.
Hyunjin didn't expect to ever fall in love the way he did. It was a gentle and slow descent, like ice cream melting on a summer's day. He was melting for her, his cold heart thawing to recieve her love. Having her in his arms was like coming home. He might nog have expected to fall in love like this, but he was incapable of regretting it. It was lovely, just like her.

_ _ _
Australia was much warmer than you expected. The deep blue sky layered with cotton clouds and even though it was December, the temperatures were still pretty warm. You could get away with wearing a t-shirt and shorts without much of an issue.
The Stray Kids members were on tour and since you and Hyunjin were a thing, you were offered an invite. You declined in the beginning, but Hyunjin begged and pleaded, even going as far as getting down on his knees and bowing to you. With his head level with the tip of your toes, he patted the top of your bare feet and said all the right words.
When you finally agreed, he picked you up and swung you around. Laughter fell from your lips and he grinned. “We’re going to have so much fun! Just you wait! You’re going to love Australia, it’s my second home!”
That was a few weeks ago and here you were now. Your fingers curled against Hyunjin’s hands as the two of you walked in the direction of the beach. Felix and Chan had been raving about the water. Salt has been in their bloodstream since birth.
Growing up near the azure colored water, their families often took them to beaches to cool off. Beneath the scorching sun, the warm water provided much needed relief. The memories of their youth-filled days stuck to the sides of their brains. Coming back to the Pacific Ocean, it was finally like coming back home.
The rest of the band members had scattered off in different directions. Minho and Han ventured towards a less noisy area of the beach. Seungmin and Jeongin padded after them. Changbin screeched, stuck his hands up, and took off towards the rolling waves.
Beside you, Hyunjin chuckled and shook his head. “We have our own beaches and yet, it’s like he’s never seen one before.”
“It’s the Pacific Ocean,” you joked, “that makes it special.”
“Yeah, I guess.”
You watched Changbin rush the waves and dive in head-first. The smile on your face began to disappear when you heard a scream from your right. Your head whipped over and it was there that you found Chan’s younger sister running away from him.
“Get back here!” Chan yelled. He propelled after her with his arms outstretched. His bare feet kicked up sand as he chased her. Her laughter mixed with the sound of waves. “Hannah, get back here!”
Felix’s own sisters shared a mischievous glance. The older one began to grin and when Felix realized it, his eyes widened. “Oh no, wait a minute, please don’t-”
“You better start running for your life.”
He rushed around and took off sprinting. “Bang Chan! Help me! Hyung, save me! Save me!”
His sisters laughed and took off after him. Chan glanced over his shoulder and when he did, his own sister took advantage of this. She shifted directions and began to sprint back after him.
What started as a simple joy, turned into a complex game of cat and mouse. The three girls ran after Felix and Chan while sharing giggles. Olivia, Rachel, and Hannah had been close for a while. It was easy to share the longing and loneliness of missing their brothers.
Hannah and Chan had a younger brother, but he wasn’t the same as having an older brother. Hannah grew up with her older brother and then he disappeared. It was difficult to be so young and fathom that your older brother was hundreds of miles away.
For Olivia and Rachel, it was the same way. Felix was the middle child and smothered with love and taunts. As the only brother, it was foreign to have him there all the time and then disappear to follow his dreams.
Each sibling had their own lives and their own goals. Despite that, when they all visited with each other, they tried to make as many memories as possible. Who knew when the next visit would be.
Your fingers were still entangled with Hyunjin’s hand while you watched them. Changbin realized his band members were being chased by their siblings and he gasped. He sprinted out of the waist-high water and rushed towards them.
“Felix! Channie-hyung! Hold on! I’m coming!”
Hyunjin’s fingers untangled from yours and he reached down to get his phone. He wanted to capture this moment and send it to the guys later. This was something they’d be able to look back on and laugh about.
Too distracted by capturing the moment, he didn’t realize you walked away from him. You turned your back and began to head away from the laughter and fun. Your arms wrapped around your torso and you sucked in a deep breath.
You had an older brother once upon a time too. Unfortunately, your time together wasn’t remembered with fond conversations and melodic laughter. Instead, when you thought back upon it, you remembered the worst parts.
You remembered the harsh insults that were spat at you. As if you weren’t formed in the same womb and shared the same half of your parents. Words stung, but being backhanded and knocked to the floor hurt much worse.
Once upon a time, you had a brother that you loved more than anything, but as the formative years began to progress, so did his hatred for you. What you did, you didn’t know, but you knew the harshness of a man.
The betrayal of blood that tastes like iron. Bright crimson staining your cracked open bottom lip. It’s a plum purple and a darkening blue. A touch of brown that’s sprouting a rotten yellow amongst the edges.
You asked that question over and over and over again. He moved out months ago, but the hurt still lingered. That harshness stapled to your soul and each time you tried to peel it back, to remind yourself that you deserved better, the rusty staples still clung. You hadn’t figured out how to feel worth it yet.
When you looked into Hyunjin’s dark eyes, sometimes there was a tug on your heart. A cupped fear always lingered deep down. Would he eventually see you as your brother had? Something not worth fighting for? Someone so disposable that it wouldn’t hurt to let go?
Old wounds scabbed over and healed, but the scars never left. When you laid down in your bed and snuggled next to Hyunjin’s warmth, you could still feel the phantom pain every now and then. The way the tangled carpet strands brushed against your bare knees and wore away the top layer of your delicate skin. The pain that shot through your elbow and lingered in your shoulder when you hit the ground.
Your brother’s untamed anger was uncontrollable. He was a vicious beast that would launch at you any moment. Whether it was verbally or physically, he’d beat you down without a second thought.
Maybe your parents knew or maybe they just didn’t care. Maybe they too were ashamed and disappointed by the child that they raised. The two of you shared the same womb, but your brother viewed you as if you grew up in a womb of venom. It seeped into your bloodstream along the way and poisoned your entire sense of self.
He darkened your childhood and the days that should have been full of wonder and entertainment were instead filled with fear and anxiety. Every time you interacted with him, you never knew what lay ahead. The unknown future brought you more anxiety than you ever could have possibly imagined.
You grew up. You moved out. You lived your own life, but the hurt still lingered. When you tried to go back home, your throat closed up. Your adult body remembered that adolescent fear. Your knees wobbled and tears pricked your eyes. Your brain screamed at you to stop.
You moved far away and tried to forget, but it was moments like these where you truly struggled. You wanted to be happy. You knew Chan and Felix were good brothers, but there was resentment tucked behind your heart. Why couldn’t your brother be a good brother too?
Hanging around Hyunjin, you hung out with members of the band too. So many members had siblings and they were decent brothers. Changbin always tried to meet up with his sister to have a meal together every now and then. He always paid for it without complaint.
When Seungmin went back home to his parents house, his older sister babied him. He swore that he hated it, but deep down, you knew that he appreciated it. He still liked to be cared for.
Chan and Felix were constantly updated with their siblings. Han liked to taunt and tease his older brother for the fun of it. Jeongin actively liked to find items for his brothers and save them until it was a holiday season or their birthdays.
Hyunjin and Minho were the only members without siblings. Even without siblings, they didn’t know what it was like to face abuse from them. They didn’t have to worry about coming home from school and facing the wrath of the devil.
“Are you crying?”
The sudden voice caused you to open your eyes. In front of you, Hyunjin frowned and studied your face. He reached up with his thumb and gently wiped away a fallen tear.
You mumbled an apology and stepped back. With a sniffle, you wiped your arm across your eyes. The scent of coconut sunblock hit your nose. Chan wouldn’t let any of you outside without some sort of sun protection. The Australian sun was scorching and you burnt easily.
“Did something happen?” He reached out and grabbed your arm. Slightly lifting it, he inspected your body for some sort of damage. “Did you fall and get hurt?”
“No.” You shook your head and pulled away. “I was just thinking about some stuff. It’s kind of stupid, really.” Your eyes went down to the sand and you curled your toes. They dug into the white sand and disappeared.
“It’s not stupid if it’s causing you to cry.”
“I was just watching everything down there and needed a moment. Felix and Chan are good brothers. They’re having so much fun down there and I’m happy for them.”
“But?” He raised an eyebrow.
“I had a brother too, but he wasn’t like that. He was mean and cruel.” You wiped away another forming tear before it fell. “I just wish my brother could have been more like them and less like he really was.”
“I’m sorry that he wasn’t who you needed him to be.”
You shrugged and tried to swallow the lump in your throat. “It doesn’t really matter. What’s done is done and nothing can change it. Life goes on, the earth keeps spinning, and the sun still shines.”
You glanced over his shoulder. All three of the guys and the girls were now in the water. They were splashing each other with water. Hannah splashed foamy waves at Chan. He spit the water back out at her and she shrieked. “You jerk!”
When Felix sent water her way, his own sisters teamed up against him. One disappeared beneath the shallow water while the other distracted him with splashes. He yelped as his ankle was grabbed. Caught off guard, he tipped into the water. Olivia broke the water giggling as Felix flailed with a yell.
“You know, I didn’t grow up with any siblings, but I met the guys. They might not be related to me through blood, but we’re definitely related through our experiences and our careers.”
He cautiously reached out an arm and wrapped it around your shoulders. Your head shifted to the side and laid upon his shoulders. He brushed a piece of hair behind your ear and didn’t take his eyes off you.
“If you want them to be, they can be the brothers you never had too. You’re already taken by me, so they already view you as a family member.”
“Why does it feel like you’re lying to make me feel better?”
“If you didn’t mean anything to me, I wouldn’t have brought you on this trip. Although we’re not from Australia, it’s special to all of us. Felix and Chan left this place to take chances and follow their dreams. That’s not something that any of us forget about. They left their families to take a huge chance and along the way, they found us.”
“I wouldn’t have shared this experience with you if I didn’t love you. You can let them in and lean on them if you need to. You’re part of our lives and you help us out if needed. The least that we can do is care about you.”
You blinked rapidly as your vision blurred. Tears began to fill up as you thought about the moments you shared with the guys. Just this morning, you helped Minho make everyone breakfast.
The two of you laughed and joked around in the kitchen. When you accidentally cut yourself with a pairing knife while chopping vegetables, he lightly lectured you, cleaned the cut, and bandaged it.
Once he finished, he showed you the proper way to hold the knife, so you didn’t catch your fingers with the blade. Once he was satisfied and sure you weren’t bleeding through the bandage, he left you, so he could go back to preparing the meat.
“I don’t think I deserve you all sometimes,” you finally uttered weakly.
“And at times, I feel the same way about you. So what are you waiting for? Come on!” he held his hand out towards you. “Your brothers are waiting.”
When you didn’t move quick enough. He grabbed you and tossed you over his shoulder. You shrieked and gripped the back of his shirt. “Hyunjin! What are you-”
He laughed and hauled you back to the water. “Felix, look what I caught!” He dropped you into the water and you gasped as warmth caught you. “Sick ‘em!”
“Leave them alone!” Rachel howled.
The three girls approached you to form a protective shield. Chan, Felix, Changbin, and Hyunjin began splashing the water. You shrieked and ducked behind the girls to take cover. Water splashed in every direction.
Since Hyunjin was taller, he could see over the girls. When he did, he caught the smile on your face. Despite the rocky waves and their splashing, you were holding up just fine. The aching sadness replaced itself with comfort.
You fit right in, like the final piece of the missing puzzle.

The kiss, once soft and apprehensive, transformed into something unrecognizable—hungry, revealing a longing that had been simmering beneath the surface for far too long. It was as if the barriers you both carefully constructed over time crumbled immediately.
You shrugged off your coat, letting it fall carelessly to the floor, the sound of fabric crumpling almost unnoticed in the heat of the moment. Your hand reached for the underside of his jaw, fingers trembling slightly as you cupped his face.
Hyunjin's intensity could ignite the very walls of the room. His touch was gentle but insistent, his hands trailing down your body with appreciation, like each inch of you was something sacred he must rediscover. Every soft caress, every brush of his fingertips against your skin felt like an apology, a confession of how much he regretted the years apart.
You whimpered, your hands gripping his biceps as his lips found the curve of your neck. He paused, his breath hot against your skin. "I should have never left you," Hyunjin murmured, his voice rough with emotion, his hands shaking slightly as they moved over you.
The words sent a jolt through your chest, stirring something deep inside you that had been dormant for too long. His mouth returned to yours, desperate now, as if he couldn’t get enough of the taste of you— the feeling of you.
You couldn't help but lean into his touch, every press of his pouty lips and trailing hands sent a wave of heat through you. "Hyune..." you whispered, the sound of his name escaping your lips like a prayer. You felt him stiffen at the sound, as if your voice alone could bind him to you in ways he hadn't thought possible. He responded with a groan, pressing his forehead against yours, his fingers still tracing the curve of your spine.
You trailed your fingers under his jacket, the fabric smooth beneath your touch as you pushed it off his shoulders. The jacket slipped off easily, landing with a soft thud on the wooden floor.
Hyunjin stood before you. Fixed on your lips, his gaze was dark and filled with something that made your breath catch. His hands slid down your sides, firm yet tender. His voice was low and husky, breaking the silence, “Wrap your legs around me."
You hesitated for only a heartbeat before complying. His hands found their way beneath your thighs, firm but gentle as he lifted you effortlessly. Your breath hitched, heart pounding as you curled your legs around his waist. You let out a soft gasp, gripping his shoulders for balance. Your fingers tangled in the fabric of his shirt as he carried you toward the kitchen bench.
Your noses brushed and his lips hovered just a breath away from yours. The tension coiled tighter in your chest, the air between you electric, charged with a yearning neither of you could deny. His every step, deliberate and steady.
The cool surface of his kitchen bench met your back as he set you down, but the sensation was quickly overshadowed. His hands never left you, one bracing your lower back while the other caressed your hip, fingers splayed as though he wanted to memorize the feel of you beneath his palm.
His lips found yours with an urgency that stole your breath, his hands cupping your face before sliding down to your waist, pulling you closer. You tilted your head to deepen the kiss, fingers threading through his dark hair. His groan was low and guttural, the sound vibrating against your lips and making your toes curl.
You shifted slightly, desperate to get closer and your elbow accidentally knocked a jar of paint perched on the edge of the counter. The lid popped off, covering the countertop with a vivid maroon before it tumbled completely on the floor. The sound startled you, breaking the kiss as you pulled back, your gaze darting to the mess. "Oh, shit."
Hyunjin’s breathless laugh drew your attention back to him. His forehead rested against yours, a small, amused smile playing on his lips. “I’ll clean it up later,” he said, his voice rich with affection.
"Okay," you whispered against him. His hands roamed over your midriff, fingers brushing the bare skin beneath your loose tank top, sending shivers across your skin.
One hand found its way to the small of your back, where his thumb gently traced the curve of your spine. His other hand tilted your chin, drawing your eyes to his. “You’re perfect,” he whispered, his gaze burning with sincerity.
The words undid you. You pulled him closer, your lips finding his again, your body arching into his touch. His hands moved back to your thighs, gripping you with a mixture of urgency and care as he pressed against you, his breath hot against your skin. The world around you—the paint-streaked counter, the chaos of spilled color—faded into insignificance. There was only him, his touch and warm kisses.
“Hyunjin,” you breathed against his lips, the sound a mix of plea and confession. His lips brushed against your temple before finding yours again, sealing the moment with passion that spoke louder than words ever could.
His fingers trailed down to your navel, brushing teasingly against your gym shorts. You lifted your hips off the bench, just enough for him to shimmy the material down. He hooked his fingers into the waistband, pulling your shorts and lace panties off in one smooth gesture.
He knelt before you, his hands gliding slowly up and down your legs. "My pretty girl's so needy for me." His lips hovered over your skin, each kiss he pressed to your thighs slow and deliberate.
His fingers traced lazy patterns, the gentle touch making your breath hitch. When he finally reached the center of your need, he paused, looking up at you with a gaze so intense it made your chest ache. “Tell me if it’s too much,” he said softly, his hands sliding beneath you, lifting your hips just enough so that you were completely at his mercy.
And then he began.
The first touch of his mouth was tentative, almost exploratory, but it didn’t take long for him to find a rhythm that left you gasping. His tongue moved with a skill that made your head fall back against the bench, each stroke deliberate and precise, as though he were painting a masterpiece. Hyunjin's grip on your hips tightened, holding you steady as your body began to arch involuntarily beneath him. His nose bumped against your clit, his movements sloppy and starved.
“Hyune,” you breathed, your fingers tangling in his hair, pulling him closer as waves of pleasure coursed through you. He groaned at your touch, the sound vibrating against your skin and sending a fresh surge of heat through your veins.
Every flick of his tongue, every gentle suck, was a symphony of sensation, building a crescendo that left you breathless. His name fell from your lips again and again, a broken mantra that only seemed to spur him on, his mouth moving with more urgency, more desperation.
His large hands, splayed on your thighs, gripped you toward him, sliding you along the counter. Your arms, braced against the countertop for balance gave way as he devoured you. Your head fell back instinctively, your fingers curling into fists against the smooth surface as wave after wave of sensation crashed over you.
It wasn’t just his touch—it was the emotion behind it, the raw hunger of three years’ worth of yearning. Three years of missed chances and unspoken confessions all culminating in this single, unrestrained moment. Every flick of his tongue, every press of his lips, spoke volumes of everything he had held back for so long.
"Hyune, I-I can't feels too good." You whined, unable to restrain your moans and noises.
His grip on your thighs tightened, his fingertips digging slightly into your skin as if anchoring himself to you. The strength in his hands, the way they seemed to claim you, left you reeling. It was as though he was afraid you might slip away again, vanish from his grasp before he could show you just how deeply he needed you.
You couldn’t help the broken sound that escaped your lips. His eyes flicked up to yours, dark and intense, his face framed by the strands of his hair that had fallen loose. "All mine."
"Always has been," You breathed out, recalling his earlier words.
When he resumed, it was with an unrelenting fervor, his mouth moving against you with purpose and precision. The room seemed to blur around you, the tension coiling in your core growing tighter and tighter. When your body began to tremble, he slowed just enough to prolong the moment, his hands sliding up to intertwine with yours as he continued his worship.
You finally snapped and loud gasps escaped you. The world slowly came back into focus and you found him still holding you, his forehead pressed gently against your thigh. The warmth of his hands, still steady on your legs. He pressed a final kiss to the inside of your thigh before resting his cheek there, his breathing ragged but his expression tender. “Just as good as I remember,” he murmured, his voice filled with awe.
You reached for his shirt, fingers trembling slightly as you grasped the fabric and tugged him upward. His body obeyed, fluid and eager, until his face was level with yours. Your eyes flickered downward, catching the evidence of your release glistening on his lips. Heat pooled in your cheeks, before your gaze snapped back to his face.
His hair was a beautiful mess, onyx strands falling haphazardly across his forehead, framing his flushed features. The faint blush dusting his cheeks was a striking contrast to the hunger still lingering in his eyes, an intensity that made your pulse quicken. His lips, slightly swollen and glistening, parted as though he was about to speak, but no words came.
His hands slid to your waist, fingers firm and grounding, steadying you. Your grip on his shirt tightened, pulling him impossibly closer. Before you could second-guess the impulse, you leaned forward. Your tongue flicked across his bottom lip, tasting the lingering saltiness of yourself on him. A small gasp escaped his lips as you followed with gentle, teasing sucks.
A low growl rumbled in his chest, his response immediate. His hands tightened on your waist, guiding you forward, erasing any remaining distance. You could feel the tension in his touch, the restraint he was barely holding onto, and it only spurred you on.
“Don’t tease,” he murmured against your lips, his voice a deep, strained rasp, but you only smiled against his mouth, your kisses featherlight and infuriatingly slow.
“I thought you liked patience,” you whispered, your words taunting, and he chuckled lowly, his breath warm against your cheek.
“Not now,” he replied, his tone thick with yearning.
The paint-streaked countertop and chaos of the kitchen became an afterthought as the warmth of his body pressed into yours. He pulled back slightly, resting his forehead against yours, both of you catching your breath.
“We—should move. Bedroom,” You murmured between stolen kisses, your words muffled as you trailed your lips along his jaw.
"Whose the impatient one now?" Hyunjin teased, a mischievous smirk tugging at his lips. He wrapped his hand around your throat, brushing his thumb gently against your skin.
You rolled your eyes, even as your pulse quickened. “And you’re too busy talking when you could be doing something.”
His brow arched, his grin widening. “Oh, I’m doing something, trust me.” He leaned in, his lips grazing the corner of your mouth, deliberately slow.
Touché. You huffed, trying to tug him closer with your legs around his waist. “You’re impossible,” you muttered, and your legs dangled off the counter, a frown tugging at your lips.
“Impossible?” He leant back on purpose. “You’re the one who can’t wait to get me to the bedroom.”
Your cheeks burnt, but you refused to back down. “Because I know what I want, Hyunjin.”
Your hands glided up his chest, the fabric of his shirt warm and soft beneath your fingers as you let them linger, teasingly tracing the defined lines of his body. A small pout formed on your lips, the realization dawning on you that there were still too many layers.
His laugh was low and teasing as he adjusted his hold on you, pulling you tighter against him. “Then tell me,” he murmured, his breath warm against your neck, “exactly what it is you want.”
“Not here,” you managed, your voice a little breathless as his lips grazed your jawline. “The bed.”
“Ah,” he murmured, his tone mockingly thoughtful as he shifted you higher in his arms. “The bed."
Your legs slid down from around his waist and his hand found yours, pulling you from the counter. Together, you fumbled through the small space, down the hall to his room. It wasn’t graceful—your hip bumped into the edge of the counter, and his foot grazed a chair leg, sending it skidding across the floor—but you couldn’t bring yourself to care.
The hallway felt endless, both of you pausing every few steps to press against the wall, to kiss with renewed fervor, hands exploring skin and fabric, his warm palms cupping your ass, your fingers trailing down the curve of his neck. By the time you reached his bedroom door, you were both breathless, laughter bubbling up between you as he struggled to turn the handle without letting go of you.
“I forgot how terrible you are at multitasking,” you teased, your voice light despite the tension coiling in your chest.
“And you’re not helping,” he retorted, his smile lighting up his face even as his lips found yours again, silencing any further protests. "I'll always be clumsy around my favourite girl."
Finally, the door swung open, and you stumbled inside together. The bed, only a few steps away. His sock caught on the edge of the rug, nearly sending him sprawling, and your elbow knocked into a stack of books on his nightstand, toppling them to the floor with a thud.
When you both landed on the bed, the laughter spilled over, breaking through the haze of passion. He rolled onto his back, pulling you with him, and you collapsed onto his chest, your giggles mixing with his. The sound filled the room, light and unrestrained, and for a moment, it was just the two of you, tangled together, laughing at the absurdity of your own impatience.
“I feel like we’re in a bad rom-com,” you managed between breaths, wiping a tear from the corner of your eye.
“Hey,” he replied, mock affronted, propping himself up on his elbows to look at you. “This is pure romance, thank you very much. Paint-streaked and clumsy, but still romantic.”
You shook your head, smiling down at him, and his expression softened, the laughter fading into something deeper. He reached up, brushing a strand of hair from your face, his fingers lingering against your cheek. “God, it should be illegal for someone to be this pretty,” he said, his voice quieter now.
Your fingers ghosted over the fabric of his shirt, teasingly brushing against his stomach as he leaned back, his arms casually resting behind his head. There was an ease to his posture, but his eyes betrayed something deeper, following your every movement.
You hooked your fingers under the hem of his shirt and began to lift it, your movements deliberate. The fabric bunched under your hands, revealing the sculpted lines of his abs, firm and glistening faintly in the dim light. A small, involuntary smile crept onto your lips as you paused to admire him. He’d been working out—more than a little, it seemed.
"You seem to be a masterpiece yourself, Jiniret," you murmured, your voice a mix of teasing and awe.
His lips twitched into a playful smirk, but the warmth in his gaze softened the moment. “Takes one to know one."
He paused, his movements deliberate as he gripped the hem of his shirt from you and tugged it off in one smooth motion. The fabric slid over his head effortlessly, revealing his toned chest and shoulders. His hair was mussed, strands falling perfectly into place, and his eyes darkened as they met yours.
Without breaking eye contact, his hands found your waist. His thumbs brushed against your sides, leaving a trail of heat in their wake. You slid onto his lap to straddle his waist. Your hands settled on his shoulders, fingers tracing the contours of his muscles as you steadied yourself. Slowly, you reached for the hem of your tank top, pulling it over your head and discarding it beside you.
Left in just your zip-up sports bra, you felt his gaze linger, not with hunger but as though he couldn’t quite believe you were here with him. His hands slid higher, resting just under your ribs, his thumbs brushing against skin.
You gasped as he bucked his hips. He rolled over, pinning your wrists to the bed. His touch, once apprehensive, now became more sure, more eager, as if he was rediscovering something he had lost. His hands roamed over you, as though he was relearning every curve, every dip, every inch of your body that had once been so familiar, so perfectly his.
His eyes, dark with longing, traced the lines of your form. "You feel just as perfect as I remember," he murmured, his voice thick with desire. He sighed, a deep, contented sound that made your heart race. "I missed this. I missed you. I missed how you fit against me."
His hand hesitated, hovering just above the zipper of your sports bra. Slowly, deliberately, his fingers grasped the small metal tab, the tension in the air thick enough to make your breath catch.
You held perfectly still, your chest rising and falling in anticipation as the zipper began to slide downward, the sound impossibly loud in the quiet of the room. His eyes never left yours, searching for any sign of hesitation.
The fabric parted gradually, exposing your skin inch by inch to the cool air and his heated gaze. You felt your pulse quicken. His touch was light and as he gently pushed the material aside, his fingertips brushing against your bare skin.
"Such pretty tits. Been missing these for some time." He cupped your breasts. He leaned down, his tongue darting out to trace a warm, wet line across your chest before his lips closed around one of your nipples, sucking gently.
"Hyune, as much as I—" you began, but your words dissolved into a sharp gasp as he bit down ever so lightly, the pleasurable sting drawing a soft cry from your lips.
He pulled back just enough to meet your gaze, a cheeky grin lighting up his face. "Distracted already?" he teased, his voice low and his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Hyunjin," you breathed, your voice trembling with a mixture of impatience and desire, "I need you. Please."
You felt him shift against you until he stood at the edge of the bed. His movements were hurried, hands fumbling with the buckle of his belt. The soft clink of metal echoed in the quiet room, followed by the rustle of fabric.
You sat up slightly, your breath hitching as he shimmied out of his pants and boxers in one smooth motion, the garments pooling at his feet. Your gaze traveled down his body, lips parting involuntarily.
His hardened length stood, flushed and glistening at the tip. The way he looked at you sent a shiver down your spine, your own desire pooling low in your abdomen.
He crawled to you, his body pressing into yours, and you couldn’t help but melt. Every part of you seemed to respond to him, to the way his hands caressed your skin to the way you arched into him.
"You were always perfect for me," he breathed, his lips moving down to your neck, the warm, soothing caress of his mouth sending shivers down your spine. "No one else ever came close. No one ever felt the way you do. I didn’t realize what I was missing until I was without you." His hands slid down your body, brushing over your thighs, and you gasped as he gently lifted you, positioning you carefully, mindful of the scar and your spine. "I’m not letting you go again, not like before," he whispered, his voice soft yet insistent.
You wrapped your arms around him, drawing him closer, feeling how his body molded perfectly against yours. His touch, so familiar and warm, was a balm to the ache that had been there for so long. "You still fit with me, don’t you?" he asked, his words almost a question.
You whined in response, and his hands moved to your hips, adjusting your position. Hyunjin's hands were steady as he carefully adjusted a pillow beneath your hips, lifting you just enough to ensure your back was supported. His gaze softened as it traveled over your face, a silent question in his eyes, making sure you were comfortable. The tenderness of the moment tugged at your chest, and you nodded, your breath catching in anticipation.
“You okay?” he whispered, his voice laced with tenderness.
“Perfect,” you murmured, your fingers brushing against his warm cheek.
You felt him then, the weight and heat of him as he aligned himself with your entrance. The sensation sent a shiver through your body, your hands clutching the sheets beneath you. Hyunjin paused, his tip pressing gently against you, his dark eyes locking with yours.
“Slow,” he promised, his voice soothing against the whirlwind of emotions coursing through you.
And then he pushed forward, a gradual, unhurried motion that made you gasp softly. The stretch was both intense and overwhelming, a mixture of pleasure and yearning that had you curling your toes. Hyunjin leaned closer, his hands finding yours, intertwining your fingers as he continued.
“Baby, you're so tight,” he breathed, his voice breaking slightly as he moved deeper, filling you completely. "Need to be stretched out good again hmm?" A low groan rumbled from his chest as he stilled, buried deep within you, giving you a moment to adjust to the fullness. His breath mingled with yours, warm and shaky, as you both took in the intensity of the moment.
“Mm’ so full,” you murmured, your words spilling out.
His eyes flickered open at your confession, a spark of something primal igniting in their depths. Without a word, his hand trailed down between your bodies, his palm pressing gently against your abdomen. The sensation sent a shockwave of pleasure through you, and a moan slipped from your lips as he applied the slightest bit of pressure.
“You feel that?” he rasped, his voice thick and gravelly, filled with awe. “That’s me.”
Hyunjin’s free hand slid up, his fingers wrapping gently but firmly around your throat. A pant escaped your lips, your eyes fluttering shut for a moment as a dizzying heat pooled in your core. You opened your eyes, locking onto his, and what you saw in them made your breath hitch—a perfect mix of adoration and unrestrained hunger.
You arched instinctively toward him, craving more of his touch. His other hand gripped your waist, anchoring you in place as his hips rolled into yours with deliberate, intoxicating slowness.
He smirked, leaning down until his lips ghosted over your ear. “You like that?” he teased, his breath warm against your skin. “The way I make you feel?”
You nodded, unable to form a coherent sentence. His hand at your throat shifted, his thumb brushing gently against the hollow of your neck, soothing yet commanding all at once.
Your head fell back against the pillow as he moved again, his hips rolling into yours with an unrelenting, measured rhythm. The thrusts were deep and precise, each one sending waves of pleasure coursing through your body.
“Jinnie,” you gasped, clutching at his shoulders, your nails digging into his skin. The stretch, the fullness, the way he moved—it was almost too much and you didn't want him to stop.
He grinned against your jaw, his lips brushing over the sensitive skin there. “My pretty girl… taking me so well.”
His body moved against yours as if he couldn’t get enough of you—of the way you fit together like puzzle pieces. You felt his heart pounding against yours, his breath quickening while he traced every inch of you, as though he was savoring every moment of being this close to you again.
He kissed you fiercely, deeply, like he needed to make sure you were real, that this was happening, that you were here, with him.
And you couldn't help but respond, feeling the same overwhelming yearning, the same need. Your body ached for him, for the connection you once shared, for the way he made you feel complete. No one else could ever come close to what you shared, and in this moment, in his arms, you knew that the past—no matter how much it hurt—had led you both here. And with him, you belonged.
One hand found its way to the small of your back, where his thumb gently traced the curve of your spine. He paused, fingers lingering on the scar there, and you stiffened instinctively. But his other hand tilted your chin, drawing your eyes to his. "You're everything I’ve ever wanted," he breathed against your lips, his hands moving lower, caressing you like he was memorizing your skin. "You have no idea how much I regret not being here with you, how much I wish I could go back and make things right." He kissed you deeply, passionately, as though every word, every apology, could be sealed with the fire of his touch.
He rolled his hips, each movement deliberate, slow, and deep, drawing a gasp from your lips with every thrust. His arms caged you beneath him, strong and unyielding. Your fingers clawed at his back.
“I’m sorry," he whispered again, this time with more force. "I should have been here. I should have fought harder for us.” His fingers were gentle as they traced the scar along your body, and you gasped softly, the memory of the pain flooding back. But his touch was nothing like that. It was tender, careful, almost worshipful. "I won’t let that be a part of us anymore. I won’t let it define us."
His words, the softness of his touch, the weight of everything he was offering—his regret, his love, his unspoken apologies—filled you in a way you hadn’t realized you needed. His hands found your hips again, pulling you closer.
“I’ll never let you go again,” Hyunjin groaned, the sound low and guttural, as his hips stilled deep inside you. His chest rose and fell heavily against yours, and you could feel the rapid thrum of his heartbeat echoing your own. He dipped his head, pressing a tender kiss to your temple, “Not like before. I’ll stay, Y/N. I’ll stay, if you’ll have me. Now let go for me pretty, I'm here.”
Your legs began to tremble, the intensity coursing through your body like waves crashing against the shore. You buried your face into the crook of his neck. Your breaths came in short, desperate bursts as you nuzzled into his skin, seeking solace, though your emotions threatened to overflow. You weren’t sure if the tears pooling in your eyes were from the unbearable pleasure or the weight of his words.
Then, the words tumbled from your lips—a confession you had been too terrified to voice. "I want you to stay."
