"Have I ever told you how pretty you look in red?"
Those were the words you told him once, leaning down to stare him in the eyes. You hair fell in a soft curtain around your head as you did so, that ever charming smirk on your face. He could see the twitch of your lips and the red blossoming along the very edges of your cheeks, which didn't make his own flush any better.
You had told him he looked pretty in red. You had said it after saying one thing or another which lead to him burying his face in his hands as he tried hiding behind his tunic. You seemed to take great joy in seeing him flush and while he adored red on you, he didn't see the appeal of it on him.
But it made you happy. And that was all he needed.
Some form of half-groan, half whine left his lips as he tried avoiding your gaze. He could feel his heart shudder in his chest as you leaned further into his space. What he wouldn't give to just lean in and kiss you. To feel your velvet lips against his, melding to his every move. To feel the way your body would move against his as he held your perfect cheeks in his hands. To gently lap at your bottom lip, maybe pinch it between his teeth if only to make you gasp just a bit, until you took charge as you always did.
"I didn't even do anything and you're turning redder by the moment. Thinking of me, traveler?"
Of course he was. He was always thinking about you. Constantly. You were the only thing on his mind at any given point in the day. The way you walked, the way you ate, the way you slept, the way you breathed. It all kept him awake a night, a hand clasped tightly around the fabric above his heart as he fought to keep his breathing even. Every part of you made his heart yearn and ache for things he never allowed himself. He wasn't allowed to love in his own world, but maybe in yours.
Your world, which you constantly wove intricate stories about, seemed nowhere near as enchanting as you made it seem. Maybe just the way you explained, a hand waving mindlessly beside you, is what made it seem so. You were what made it a place worthy of even existing in your presence. Your world may be the thing to allow him to love you. To hold and cherish you. Worship your every step. Even if you didn't need him, he would find a purpose in your life to keep him in your orbit. Did you need a hero? He could be yours. A healer? Every ache and pain could be waved away with a flurry of his magic. A companion? Anything to be by your side. A step-stool? If you wished to step on him, it would be his absolute honor.
"Maybe you are! How sweet of you, Hyrule. I think about you too!"
You thought about him? You, perfect, angelic you thought about him? Little ol' him? He graced your thoughts in the same vein he thought of you? Probably not, you occupied his every waking moment, but just to know you thought of him for a flutter of a second was enough to have his cheeks turning a crimson he didn't think possible. They seemed hot to the touch, but you were utterly amused by them.
One of your perfect fingers poked his cheek, even as he tried hiding it from you. How could he portray the image of a fear-less, unyielding hero when you could dwindle him to a sputtering mess with a flutter of your lashes?
"I think about you a lot, you know?"
Your voice dropped an octave as he fought the urge to hide to look you in the eyes. Your eyes were clouded with something he was unfamiliar with, lidded and pointed on him.
He swallowed something thick that settled on his tongue.
You slowly crawled over to him, caging him against the tree he originally was leaning against. His voice felt like it was going to crack before he even spoke. "D-Do you?"
You nodded. "I do. Wanna know what I think about?"
Your breath was hot against his ear as he keened upwards, body jolting at the rush of it. The feeling of you being so close was making his body jolt and quiver as his fingers dug into the dirt beneath him.
He found the will to nod.
His will did not last long as one of your hands gently reached for his best, teeth gracing the outer shell of his ear before pinching it gently between them. You could've asked anything from him at that very moment and he would've given it willingly. Wanted a monster slain? Done. A nation to fall at your feet? No worries. Wanted his own blood to revive the very monster he and his brothers were determined to keep dead? Take it all. He bled just for you.
Your palm felt heavy as it gently brushed along his crotch, fiddling with his belt buckle before it was falling undone and you were able to slip your hand between his pants and skin. His tanned skin felt hot to the touch, even to him, but you seemed unalarmed, tongue darting out to swipe along his jawline. His body simultaneously tensed and went lax under the feeling of your spit quickly cooling and your hand grasping at your wanted prize.
He shot up when your fingers wrapped along his shaft, gently tugging just as your teeth latched to his neck. Goosebumps riddled his skin as he leaned into your shoulder, jaw clenched tight enough he didn't risk biting into your own flawed skin. To tarnish your pristine skin would be a sin surely beyond forgiveness and he would not risk this gorgonizing experience. Everything about this felt ferly and perfect and he never wanted it to end.
Your fingers tightened, thumb gathering a drop of pre-cum that dribbled out of the tip to act as a lubricant as you picked up a steady rhythm.
He couldn't even help the whimpers coming out of him as his thighs shudders and his hands dug into the ground, yanking at the strands of grass and weeds in an effort to ground himself. It didn't work, the muscles in his thighs tightening along with the feeling in his groin as you worked your hand faster.
"I think about how pretty you would look, red in the face, cumming for me like the good boy you are."
You word was law, and who was he to disobey? Any hold he had over himself was let go as he jutted as far as your hold would allow him, crying out with his head falling back. His hips bucked wildly, meeting everyone of your thrusts beat for beat before he was teetering on the edge of overstimulation. You retracted your hand, making him whine in ache for your touch, but you held his attention as you pulled your fingers to your mouth. They were coated in a milky white sheen, dripping along your digits, which you then shoved in your mouth. Your tongue, pink and flush, lapped around your fingers, refusing to leave a trace even as he felt about ready to combust at the action.
When you were satisfied, you hummed happily, licking your lips as he vowed his total being to you. Something you had no idea of.
"And I was right. You're so pretty in red, Hyrule."

𝕹𝕾𝕱𝖂 𝕳𝖊𝖆𝖉𝖈𝖆𝖓𝖔𝖓𝖘 | afab!reader, oral (masc/fem receiving), penetration, (kinda?) public sex, link's kinda a pervert idk
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Love Note From Zee ; ;
the results are in! you guys voted for link nsfw headcanons and i shall deliver! had so much fun with this (and i absolutely did NOT get horny while writing this, i literally don't know what you're talking about, i'm SO normal about him wdym)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
「 ✦ You know that whole thing about it ALWAYS being the quiet ones? Yeah, Link is the prime example of that. 」
「 ✦ Mans has a lot of pent up frustrations after being asleep for an entire century, so needless to say, your sex life is pretty damn active. It's either he sets the entirety of Hyrule on fire or he gets his dick wet in some way or another, you pick. 」
「 ✦ Link is a MAJOR whimperer. Especially if he's getting head? Ugh, he can't stop whimpering. It's only gonna get worse if he's being praised DURING the ravishing. 」
A plethora of whimpers spilled between the knight's lips as his tip was treated to the tip of [Name]'s tongue swirling and pressing against it. Link's hips bucked upward desperately, needing more. "I'm so proud of you, Link. You're doing so good, you deserve this and so much later for all the work you've been doing for this whole kingdom." [Name] would whisper in between bobs on his length. Link could hardly stand it. He pushed his hips forward once more, trying not to cum on the spot from all the praises he was getting and the feel of her tongue on his dick. He let out a sound that was a mix of a whimper and a grunt as his lover's mouth lowered down his shaft once more.
「 ✦ He's also a bit of a pervert. Naturally, Link's pretty nosy. Constantly reading people's diaries and stealing their shit, but with you, it's so much worse and so much more personal. 」
「 ✦ He likes to snoop through your clothes, especially your underwear, while you're sleeping at night since he doesn't really feel the need to sleep and gets bored. 」
While [Name] was sleeping on their side, sleeping off a full day of journeying through the Hyrulian countryside, Link was hidden behind a bush with his trousers undone and a pair of frilly underwear clutched in his hand. He fisted at his length, a series of slow, soft pleasured noises bubbling out of his throat. Normally, he much preferred having your hands jerking him off, but you were sleeping right now and he didn't want to wake you. But he just couldn't wait. Your underwear was coated in your scent and he could barely stand it. Besides, the soft fabric of your undergarments around his cock was almost a good enough substitute.
「 ✦ When it comes to fucking, Link is pretty wild with it, as he is with everything else. He's very fast and desperate with his movements. He gropes at your breasts and your hips and leaves love bites and hickeys all over your neck and shoulders. 」
「 ✦ His favorite position is mating press. Not necessarily because he wants to breed you, but rather because he just really liked having your legs propped up on his shoulders. Plus, it gives him more thrusting room. 」
「 ✦ Very enthusiastic head giver as well. He's fast and desperate with that, too. His tongue is working extra hard, pushing as deeply into you as he possibly can, and his lips suck at your clit like he's trying to get the last bit of pudding out of a snack pack. A true pussy glutton! 」
The wind carried Link's desperate-sounding whimpers to your ears as he held your thighs against his shoulders as he pressed his face into your pussy. His tongue darted in and out, lapping up any form of fluid he could pull from your body. His lips sucked at your swollen, abused bud as if he was trying to pull loose the last bit of liquid through a straw, Your fingers tangled into his blonde hair and tugged at it as your chest heaved. He looked so cute down there between your legs, eating you out like your pussy was his favorite meal. Which honestly, it probably was.
「 ✦ Lots and lots and lots of sex outside. Granted, you're never around people when you fuck, but you're in the middle of a field, so honestly, you've probably been caught fucking by a very embarrassed villager at least two or three times. 」
「 ✦ Not that Link really cares, though. He's completely fucking shameless, that boy. 」

How do you imagine each member of the Chain waking up from a nightmare?
Hope you have a great day!!!
Well it would depend on the intensity of the nightmare itself, but here’s generally what I think!
Time: is used to sleeping next to Malon, so he’s gotten good at controlling his reaction. Usually wakes up with a soft gasp, jerks a little, but stops himself from bolting upright.
Twilight: makes a lot of little noises in his sleep, and when he’s having a nightmare they get louder, and he starts getting really restless. He usually wakes up with a loud gasp or sob, but once he realizes what he’s doing he quickly muffles it.
Warriors: also good at keeping his reaction controlled, can usually act like he isn’t even having one. But if it’s a really bad nightmare, sometimes he talks in his sleep and bolts upright, and he can’t stand touch until the nightmare is less sharp in his mind.
Sky: he often wakes up slowly, even with the more intense nightmares. He tends to sweat a lot while he’s having them, and usually wakes up feeling hot and gross. And it takes him a long time to fall asleep after one, since his thoughts of whether it might have been prophetic (it’s happened before...) usually keep him awake.
Legend: jerks straight up, but doesn’t make any noise aside from a deeper inhale. If he’s crying at all it’s all very quiet tears, and he tends to shake a lot.
Hyrule: similar to Time and Warriors, he’s gotten good at controlling his reaction. Doesn’t always happen though, and if he’s woken up too abruptly then his initial reaction is to yell to distract, then get away or grab a weapon. Luckily the others figured that out pretty quick.
Four: talks a lot in his sleep during nightmares, lots of whimpers and pleas, and often wakes up with a cry. But he goes dead-silent after he’s woken up, and often feels shaky afterwards, and hates it.
Wind: looks like he’s dead asleep until suddenly he’s sitting up and crying. It takes him a minute to fully wake up too, so until that happens, he clings to either his blanket or whoever woke him up from it.
Wild: very restless, doesn’t sleep very deeply in the first place, so when he has nightmares they’re usually broken up weirdly between periods where he’s more awake. Usually wakes up sniffly and unsettled, and disturbed by what he really hopes aren’t memories.

i played around with formatting here lol, looks weird.
cw: squirting obv, overstim, coochie eating, praise, breeding kink in times, he also calls you pup, fingering, doggy, mating press, reader has a vagina no pronouns
minors do not interact.
Tumblr media
hyrule
will be shy himself! he’s in such belief that he did that to you. he made you feel so good you squirted on him. i wouldn’t be surprised if he came right there or even came untouched. and even then, he’s hard again immediately. he'd flush with excitement, asking you over and over how good it felt. it only makes you more embarrassed.
you whimpered his name over and over as the knot in your stomach began to unravel. he groaned into your cunt, lips attached to your clit. you looked down at him, shuddering at the sight of him staring back at you like a starved man. your orgasm hit abruptly, causing your legs to kick out and your cunt to spray all over his face. your boyfriend almost choked at the sudden orgasm that hit him, staring at you wide eyed as his cum pooled onto the sheets. once the both of you caught your breath, you apologized profusely.
"n-no! it was, fuck, it was so hot, sweetheart. c-can we... i wanna try that again.”
wild
oh he’s smug. he’s so proud of himself. he’s always doing things for others but pleasing you was special to him. he stops for a moment to just watch you gush and then goes down to kiss your clit. he'll quiet your embarrassed cries by telling you how pretty you looked.
your chest heaved as you tried to catch your breath. your legs trembled in his hold, his fingertips leaving small bruises on your thighs. he stared down at the spot where you two met. your soaked pussy was still fluttering around him. when wild looked back at your face, you were whimpering in embarrassment, arms hiding your face. he chuckled softly, gently moving your arms out of the way.
"f-fuck babe im sorry-"
"no no, baby, you were so pretty. you think i can make you do that again before i cum?”
twi
an animal. you don’t get a chance to be shy because he doesn’t stop, not even for a second. whether he’s drinking down your cum or fucking you through your orgasm, he needs you to do it again. he needs to taste it, to feel it— he just needs more and will go for as long as he’s allowed.
you hid your face in the pillows, the soft material muffling your wails. twilight wouldn't let up, pounding into you as if he didn't know when he'd get the chance again. he'd been desperate, barely giving you a chance to breathe as he ravaged all of your sensitive spots before manhandling you onto all fours. you felt your orgasm coming, and he could too. "go on 'n cum, you deserve it, doll." you obeyed without a word, sobbing when you squirted all over the sheets. his thrusts never stop, making you squirm to escape his grasp.
"not done yet. i want you to drench me, 'kay darlin'?"
time
a menace! will tease you about it relentlessly both degrading and praising you. immediately goes to make you do it again, watching your face the entire time. he wants to watch your face this time as you cum so hard that you soak him. it because his goal now to make you squirt at least once every time you have sex
your dear husband had you in a mating press, dick stretching your poor cunt as far as it could go. your eyes were crossed as you let out little 'ah-ah-ahs' at his harsh thrusts. time wanted to fuck you full, making sure you had at least 3 loads in you by the time he was done. he wanted you stuffed full with a kid asap. time felt you clenching around him and began to play with your clit, making you feel so good you could cry. you shrieked suddenly, body seizing up as you came. “dirty, dirty pup," he called. you whined, uttering a quiet 'don’t look, please' that made him chuckle and grab your chin. "you squeezed me so hard, felt so good. you're so messy... could you do that again for me, dear?”
sky
lets you ride it out and then asks you what the fuck was that LMAO. like he knows, he's just so surprised that it happened out of no where. he wasn't even trying. but now he's going to have to make you cum like that every time. so he's gonna take his time making you cum on his fingers, his tongue, and his dick. it may take a few nights but he is determined.
your sweet boyfriend had been in between your legs prodding at your g spot with his fingers for what seemed like forever. you'd already cum twice, but this one felt stronger. your moans rose in volume as you finally caved, sensitive cunt gushing all over sky's arm. sky didn’t know where to look. his soaked hand, your trembling legs, or your fucked out face. you just sprayed all over him and you were mortified. you pulled your legs in, turning your head and hiding your face from him. he smiled down at your form. "don't be shy, sweetheart... need you to do that again. on my cock this time. maybe on my face later if you're not too passed out. pretty please? wanna feel your cunt squeeze me like you did my fingers."

In your opinion who do you think in the chain in most flusterable to the guide showing skin and being flirty?
OOhhhhh This is gonna be funnn~
Based on my personal headcanons and others' fanfics I've read, I think that Sky, Hyrule, and Wild would be the most flustered at our guide being flirtatious and showing more skin than they're used to.
However, that's not to say they're the only ones, the others are just better at hiding it.
Let's take it from the top!
Warnings: VERY SUGGESTIVE, NSFW
Minors do NOT interact
Sky
Our cute sleepyhead is beet-red. Absolutely in flames.
It was supposed to be a quiet, typical morning in Skyloft. He would get up and make some tea and look at the Sky before meeting up with the rest of the Chain.
But of course you decided to go on a jog that morning, wearing nothing besides a sports bra and shorts, as you tended to overheat during exercise.
Being so exposed in any of their eras was unheard of, so of course it was a sight to see, particularly for Sky.
The way your chest bounced with every movement, pearls of sweat dribbling down into the crevice between your breasts. He wondered what it would taste like on the tip of his tongue, licking each bead of salty sweat.
The way your hips moved in tandem with your jogging, expertly keeping up with the movement of your legs. Hips that he would grip while he rammed his cock into you, hitting the spongy spot every. Single. Time.
The way your face was pink and rosy from the slight chill in the air, but also running for so long, nearing exhaustion. Your tear-brimmed eyes looking up at him as you took him entirely in your mouth, whimpering at how full you felt.
You suddently waved at him, smiling and yelling something you taking a shower.
You threw a wink over your shoulder at him as you left him behind
Was that an invitation?
Hyrule
He wasn't sure if he loved or hated Wind's era for this.
Going on Tetra's ship for a side quest was the last place he expected for something like this to happen but... he wasn't complaining. Hell, none of them were.
You saunter out from under the deck, wearing nothing but a "string bikini" (as you call it)
Hyrule.exe has stopped working
Wars had to snap him out of his staring, as he was starting to drool
You walk up to him and sit down, looking out onto the ocean
"Eyes up here, Fairy boy."
He fumbles around trying to come up with an excuse while you double over in laughter, he was too in shock to process anything
Once he calms down, you both continue looking out onto the expanse of the horizon, sun begininng to set
He tried to ignore the way the sun illuminated your body, all the small scars and curves in your body highlighting your features
"You know.... I wore this lil' number particularly for you, Rulie. Seems like you like it." you whisper, nipping lightly at his ear.
Before he can respond or formulate a thought, you get up and hold out your hand
"Care to go for a swim, Fairy boy?"
You were gonna be the death of him.
Wild
Wild liked to think he was pretty good at keeping his composure, after all, he was a stoic knight in his past life.
That's not to say he doesn't show emotion, he's so much more open know and genuinely laughs and smiles ever since he woke up from his century long slumber.
So when all of you returned back to his era, he was ecstatic to show you around more, as last time you dind't get much of a chance to.
What he didn't take into account is that you would be sharing a bed with him.
Sweet goddesses, he wasn't gonna be able to sleep for days.
He was right
The first night cam around and the Chain setup their sleeping mats on the lower level of his home, shifting some of the funiture to make sure they all fit, while you went under the stairs to change
Wild was anxiously pacing upstairs, biting his finger nails.
This is fine, its fine! There's nothing weird about two friends sleeping next to each other, if that's what you can call your situationship with him and the seven older boys. It's fine! It's only a night- oh sweet Hylia you were wearing the shortest nightdress he's ever seen-
You yawn as you stretch, one of the straps falling off of your shoulder.
Mother of- he's done for. He's so done for.
You make your way to his bed, crawling up to the side closest to the wall. Peeking over your shoulder, you look at him, his face illuminated by the candle on the nightstand.
"You getting in bed with me or what?"

For the wonderful @la-sera. You're such a talented artist and kind person, thank you for posting your beautiful works! Here's a short fic I wrote for Fan Joy July, based on this comic you made. I hope you like it.
Hyrule had always been a light sleeper. He could be woken up by the quietest sounds, whether it be footsteps from the other Links, or even crickets that chirped too loudly. And in tonight’s case, he was stirred awake by Legend’s mumbling.
He couldn’t make out what he was saying, but his tone was pleading and desperate.
He propped himself up, turning around to face Legend. He was shaking, and he had broken out in a cold sweat. His entire face was scrunched together in distress, and even his ears were starting to droop from whatever horror he was dreaming of. Hyrule heard him grinding his teeth, and he watched as his hands clenched into fists.
A soft whimper escaped him, and Hyrule belatedly realized that he was also crying. The veteran, the one who acted so unaffected by his quests, was crying. The healer felt a gap open in his chest at seeing how devastated and scared Legend looked. Despite all the battles and dungeons they had faced together, he had never seen the veteran look so vulnerable.
The healer slowly reached for his shoulder, putting his hand down with a feather-light touch. He hoped that it would be gentle enough to not scare Legend, but he should have known better. Because as soon as he touched his predecessor, Legend grabbed his wrist in a vice grip.
The veteran snapped, “Touch me again and I swear-”
“It's just me, it's Hyrule!” He hurriedly explained, “You were having a nightmare, I wanted to wake you up…”
Legend stared at him for several more seconds before seeming to finally realize he wasn't under attack. He sighed and let go of the traveler’s wrist. He flung his hand over his eyes, trying to hide the tears that were falling down his face.
Hyrule put his hand on his brother's arms, trying to calm him down.
“It’s okay to cry…” he said softly. But Legend just huffed and turned around, facing his back at the traveler.
“I'm fine,” he muttered. Hyrule frowned before awkwardly lying back down, feeling dejected. He knew that Legend was still scared, whether he wanted to admit it or not. But how could he help? What would make him feel safer and looked after?
The answer was so simple, Hyrule nearly laughed.
He pressed his back against Legend’s, feeling his brother flinch slightly from surprise.
“Don't worry, vet, I've got your back.”
The traveler felt the veteran relax and within a few minutes, Legend started to snore softly. Hyrule smiled and closed his eyes, happy that he could help his brother.

"Worship your king." Ganondorf x Fem!Reader NSFW
Trigger Warnings for nsft content but also general Ganondorf being evil stuff, and also a LOT of taunting. Size difference. Snoo-snoo. Let's go!
Word Count = 1400
He smirked as the vai before him finished her report and nodded. “Execute their leaders.”
“Sire?” She asked, blinking in surprise.
“Did I mumble? Execute. Their leaders,” He repeated, glaring at her.
The general before him hesitated before bowing her head. “Understood, Sire.”
He dismissed her as his wife came in. With a wave of his hand, they stood in the room alone as she approached. Once she was certain they were alone, she climbed into his lap, making him smirk.
“What is it?” He asked as she shivered and smiled up at him. He frowned, watching her gleam. “Y/N, speak.”
“I had a vision, dearest. Your power will infect everything in Hyrule,” She said, practically squirming. “Your dream.”
Ganondorf’s smile widened as he barked a laugh and kissed her. “Even if you saw my death, I would still kiss you like this.”
She giggled against his lips as he held her in place in his lap. “So the rebels?”
“On their way to the block, if they make it that far,” He added the last part with a snort, making her giggle. He studied her before asking, “You know how people revolt against me, yet you still stay beside me?”
Y/N smiled as she adjusted. “Well, if you asked me that two years ago, my answer would be against you,” She confessed. “When we first married, I wondered why it is there were rebellions. Then I saw your firm stance. Even I thought that nothing could make me love you.”
Ganondorf smiled endearingly. “Was it the assassins?”
“No. The Gibdos,” She confessed. “When they rose from your will alone, I knew that you would be the man to rule everything, including my body.”
“You depraved,” He spat with a laugh before kissing her. He deepened the kiss, which she happily accepted. “No child rearing, yet you still desire me?”
“Course I do. Besides, a daughter would just get in the way.”
“We’ve never tested it so you don’t know if it’ll be a daughter,” He chuckled as he stood, carrying her over his shoulder. When she made to protest, he swatted her behind and walked to their chambers. “But we could play with the idea, little whore.”
“Stop being mean to your wife,” She playfully shot back. “She is on your side, dearest.”
He slid his hand under her skirt, teasing his finger against her slit. “My wife who was likely at the ready long ago,” He hummed as she whimpered from his finger tip alone. With a final possessive squeeze, he dropped her onto the bed.
Barely a word before she had sat up and dropped the top part of her dress, exposing her breasts to him as he smirked.
“Would you really damn me for always wanting to be bedded by my husband?”
“If I did, it would only arouse you more.”
Y/N could only hum in agreement as he undid his pants, releasing himself at long last. She was salivating at the sight of it, slowly hardening and throbbing before her. He was definitely proud of his latest victory, even if he wouldn’t tell her.
She leaned forward, gently stroking it as she licked at the tip, looking up at him eagerly.
When his hand landed on her head, she slackened her jaw, sliding her tongue under him before he pushed forward. He moaned loudly as he pressed his tip near the back of her tongue, smirking as he saw there was still more to push in.
“I’ll find some manner of magic to make sure you can swallow me down the way your cunt does,” He groaned, thrusting himself in her mouth slowly.
Y/N had to resist the moan else she’d make herself choke on him. Not that it would’ve stopped him, she knew. And not that she would have.
Her body burned with heat as she let her husband use her mouth to pleasure himself. She loved it. She loved touching herself and cupping her breast, making him growl in want as he watched her. She loved the way his hands tightened in her hair, holding her as deep as he knew she could take before watching her bob her head as much as she could. She was like a wanderer in the sands and she just found the oasis was in the Gerudo King’s cock.
He pulled away slowly, smirking when a line of spit connected the tip to her whining lips as she looked up at him pitifully.
“I assumed you wanted it inside you, but if you want it back in your mouth,” He teased, watching her glare cutely up at him as he knelt down. Grabbing the hem of her dress, he quickly yanked it off, making her body hop practically on the bed. She was quickly on her hands and knees before pressing her shoulders into the mattress. “Such an eager wife. You make it hard not to want you pregnant.”
With a grunt, he pushing himself inside her, moaning with her as her legs spread wider over him. Once he was fully settled in her, he gripped her hips and began a brutal pace.
Y/N could only choke out vulgar moans as her eyes rolled back, drool beginning to slip out of the corner of her mouth.
“You were touching yourself long before finding me,” He snarled. “I can feel how–fucking–tight you are.”
“Yes, S-Sire!” She moaned, knowing it would egg him on more. “Didn’t–ah–let myself though!”
He smirked. “Why’s that?” He taunted, pressing deep in her and grinding to taunt her. “Hm? Why’d you wait until I was buried into you for breeding?”
“Cuz it feels so much b-better with you,” She mumbled, cheeks flushing.
If he weren’t such a monster, he might’ve felt his heart melt at the endearing sight of her shyly looking back at her husband. Instead, it provoked him.
He wrapped his arm under her shoulders and gripped under her knee, pulling her back against him as he resumed his brutal thrusts. He knew this position was only possible because she kept herself limber and flexible, but also because she was debased and wanted nothing else in the world than to be filled.
He wouldn’t be her husband if he didn’t grant that wish.
Ganondorf continued to pump into his wife, watching her writhe and moan as the hand under her knee snaked towards her clit, keeping her leg hooked over his forearm. Her body tightened and twitched around him as he rubbed in time with his thrusts, smirking when she screamed out his name through her climax, squirting over the sheets.
“You’ve gone and made a mess, again,” He groaned, pinning the hooked leg to her chest and making her moan louder. “You’ll need to be punished for it.”
“Yes, Sire! Punish me! Punish me for making a mess with my cu-cunt again!” She whined, lost in her pleasure.
“You’ll be my personal toy then. I’ll use your little body to make up for what you’ve done. Take–your-punishment,” He snarled as he buried into her, pumping his load deep.
Y/N let out a loud moan as he pressed himself deep enough to hit the entrance of her womb, filling her to the brim. She looked down, smiling when she saw her stomach begin to swell as she was filled. Once again, she thanked the Goddess of the Sands for medicines to stop her from having a daughter.
She twitched against him, whimpering as her body began to ache from his brutality. It was always shocking how he treated her. He gently laid her down and began to clean her up before tucking her into the bed.
Y/N watched him with tired eyes as he walked around the room, getting the water pitcher and pouring a small glass. Well, small to him. For her, it was a regular cup, but his large frame dwarfed it. She wondered always if it were because he was Gerudo.
After downing the water, he poured another helping into the cup before returning to her. She smiled and sat up with her help, leaning into him as she sipped slowly.
Once she swallowed it down, she pursed her lips, making him smile as he kissed her. “You’re so cruel to me,” She joked, making him chuckle and kiss her forehead.
“I know. Now rest.”
“Only if you cuddle me, my king.”

new au idea??? 👀 anything to share?
Remember this minific? What if I expanded it out into something super angsty and traumatizing?
(not sure I like this structure currently but preview under cut! cws for some very very mild body horror ft. Hyrule)
It isn't quite morning yet (Hyrule knows because nobody has come to shove Legend and Time away and grab him) when something changes. The pain in Hyrule’s back, now concentrated into two main areas on his shoulder blades, compounds until Hyrule is sure he's losing his skin there, but then…  It feels like something heavy drops out of his back on the right, something wet. The pain over there drops immediately, enough to shock Hyrule from his doze against the side of the wall. He twists, his nails digging into his shoulders while his arms cross in an attempt to not reach back.  There's something dark green sitting on the tile there. It looks like a wet piece of organza, crumpled and sad.  Now that Hyrule's paying more attention, he thinks that he can feel something sliding out of his skin on the other side, inch by inch. The pain is worse there, but he twists again, helping it along. His involuntary whimpers make Legend look up from his spot on the floor, and also alert Time from where he sits on the toilet seat.  “What the…” Legend mutters blearily. A squeak, and the slow drip of the showerhead ceases.  Hyrule grits his teeth and bends over and back and over again. It hurts. The thing keeps pushing out of his skin, slimy and weird and alien.  Time yawns. “What's going on?” The thing on the left finally emerges, and the relief is immediate. Hyrule's muscles relax when the itching finally dies down. He lets go of his shoulders, leaving impressed crescents from his nails.  An unfamiliar sensation sends a shiver up his spine, and he turns to see Legend’s fingers brush one of the crumpled things.  “I can feel that,” Hyrule whispers.  “I don't think I'm surprised.” After getting a nod in permission, Legend picks up one edge of the thing and lifts. It looks like a semi-transparent green curtain, or a leaf, or— “Hyrule,” Legend says, evidently keeping his voice as calm as he can, “I think you have wings.”

A Player's Aid: Chapter 13
Fandom: Legend of Zelda, Linked Universe
A/N: I'D LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE WHO GAVE ME MORAL SUPPORT ON OUR GROUP CALL AND A SPECIAL THANKS TO MY EDITORS, FANGS AND SHY, ALSO FOR LISTENING TO ME REREAD IT ALL Y'ALL GREAT
Warnings: Bad language, mentions of violence, mentions of blood, threatening language, descriptions of sick/vomit/throw up, disturbing imagery descriptions and descriptions of panic/anxiety attack, also slight implications of suicidal tendencies
The weight of the world felt heavy on your shoulders in this castle of darkness and silence. Your body weak, shaking under the pressure of any regret that ever did cross your mind as you sat there, curled into the tightest ball with a tear soaked face and fear blanketing your eyes.
It was true, what they said. Near death, your life would flash before your very eyes, letting you relive every last waking moment in a solemn look that only grew more agonising by the second. Your mother? Stranded. Alone. Never to be seen again. Your friends? Abandoned. Clueless. Left wondering what  happened to your being. Would you ever return to your home? Would Hyrule be your resting place? Whether from old age or the consequences of a risky move, resulting in a bloody pool beneath your cooling body-
How did you get here? When did you get here? Where were you? Was this real? Were you real? The suspense almost choked you, hands shaking with repressed emotion, clutching tightly to your cloak that hung from your shoulders. Home. You wanted home. You wanted your home. You wanted, wanted, wanted, wanted-
“(Name),” Wild called again, his hand coming to join yours balled tightly around the fabric of your mantle, “Please, I know you are scared but you must pull through.”
The Champion sounded so close yet so far. A mixture of nonsense and sense as your brain continued to stay muddled in the lone castle hallway.
Not a skulltula stalked the corners, nor did the Shadow’s darkness lurk, dragging against the walls and floor as it searched desperately for your petrified figure. Was he still reeling from your defiance? Had he simply taken the wrong turn at some point while desperately scrambling after you? Why wasn’t he here? Was he waiting? Watching?
A whimper broke past your lips.
Wild glanced around nervously.
What to do? What to do? The Wild Hero knew of your pain but yet didn’t know how to heal it. Time was ticking, he knew that danger was on the prowl and with only a lone holder of courage, the blonde knew that it would be a dangerous brawl indeed-
But then he remembered.
Wild remembered back, all those many moon cycles ago, when the Shadow had struck down the ranch-hand. Rivers of blood bloomed from the slash of the Iron Knuckle’s blow, spouting maroon sullying the area around Wolfie as he collapsed back onto the earth below, unmoving and quiet as time seemed to pause as all eyes fell onto him. He remembered the rage, he remembered the fear and the shouting and the pleas and he remembered it.
Standing. Watching. Waiting.
From anger sprouted seething hatred as he stared. It felt mocking, despite the apparent leaking wound under its bulking armour. Mocking of the hero before it, triumphant over its victory- Twilight had gotten cocky in his incessant hunt and now he had experienced its true power.
Wild had snapped then, watching his friend bleed out between the bodies of his brothers protecting him even unknowingly. His newly forged sword drawn at the ready with his hand itching towards his slate as he bolted towards it. The hero did not care of its destructive power, he did not care of the consequences of his rage; others yelled around him but he would not yield, not even for them.
And he did what he did best- he swung.
The Chains of Stasis keeping it still, he hurled hit after hit of his blade. Every emotion that burned in the rivers of his veins poured into the strength of each and every blow. The dents in the armour only fed into his bloodlust, gripping his heart, almost choking but he kept at it, kept beating until the dinging finally stopped and his sword snapped from the strain, the armoured giant bubbling from the tension before exploding into a barrage of scrap, liquid darkness pooling around the remains.
The first attempt to break them. Put the fear into them all as Twilight had laid in that inn bed. The Shadow had tried to pull them apart from the seams, digging its  sharpened claws into the fabric to rip what held them together- their brotherhood, their bond. If one was to fall, what would become of the rest? Chaos would ensue and chaos did take  its toll, fights and venomous words breaking out between them.
But…but Twilight had made it. Miraculous and a miracle, the man of muscle had returned to his brothers with only regrets of secrecy to his name.
Wild would not let this happen again. He would not let the Shadow grin that mocking smirk as you laid cold on the floor below, blood pooling beneath you.
“(Name), I’m going to lift you, okay?” Words soft, the Wild Hero stroked your hands, testing his touch. “Don’t panic.”
When you didn’t respond negatively he moved his palms downward, slipping one under your knees and tightening another around your back, pushing his weight onto one leg to haul himself to his feet. It wasn’t ideal, not being able to fight, but this was all he could do while you were still stunned.
Bouncing you a little, he readjusted you in his arms and made quick work of returning to his brothers.
----------
Despite the Ache’s deceit and malicious intentions- it had not lied.
The skulltula herd had been quite the fight. The dodging of pincers while slashing their swords, snapping jaws with saliva dripping an ungodessly sight until the very end, Sky plunging the Master Sword straight into the archnid’s softened belly with monster blood spraying. The hero’s eyes were dark then, watching the creature writhe and squeal in pain until the very end, the dark purple ‘poof!’ of monster magic fading along with any remnants of the beast.
“We must still check the castle’s library- whether or not another hoard awaits us.”
They had to find those hostages.
And they did.
Builders, guards, mere travellers and others from the settlement were held up in the confines of the library- singing praises of the heroes appearance, handshakes and hugs of desperation shared all around as they cheered.
“Our rations grew smaller, we were unsure if we would ever make it out alive!” Cried the head guard, Cillian was his name. “Thank you, good sirs, thank you so!”
“What led you into this mess?” The smithy had asked, “What happened?”
A builder’s moustache shook along with his wobbling lip, tears cornering his eyes. “Great big beasts with too many legs and eyes chased us! Attacked those who were unprepared! The library was the only place restored enough to keep back all of them!”
His friends comforted him as he wailed.
Cillian turned back to the heroes.
“Tell me, heroes- do these monsters still stalk those halls?” Cillain seemed almost afraid of his own words, let alone the answer. “Are we still in danger?”
The ranch-hand stepped forward. “We are all far from perfect safety but the hallways are no longer overgrown with webs or these creatures. We will escort you out, but any fighters who can still draw their sword should stay prepared to brawl.”
Hylians cried out in despair but the more battle prone called for their clarity- now wasn’t the time, they needed to escape.
The heroes did not forget of their other current affairs. Hyrule’s hand shaking around the hilt of his sword as he looked forward, dead eyed at the thoughts running through his mind.
Had the Wild Hero found you yet? Or did he still sprint through those halls? Once Twilight had tossed him with his shield, his bare strength throwing the smaller blonde over the crowd of monsters and a little further down the hallway, Wild had raced away. The skulltula couldn’t even keep up, left in the dust of the Hylian heroes brown polished boots. It was no surprise of course, the man had one goal on his mind and that was finding you- he had no time.
Were you okay? Were you dead? Hyrule’s pupils shook in boiling anger and fear. What if Wild hadn’t made it in time? What if he had just stepped into the scene to see the Shadow’s hands tear wildly at your skin, blood staining his claws as he tore out your own heart?
What-
A scream.
A scream so vile and horrid echoed through the stones, bouncing through the hallways and catching the ears of the masses. Others also screamed, horrified. Many covered their own ears and others ducked when the walls shook from this shriek’s power, dust  crumbling from newly built structures and books falling off their shelves as the shockwaves hit until finally relaxing.
The heroes all shared a look.
Warriors wasn’t fast enough to grab Hyrule’s tunic before he was scrambling.
“Traveller!”
The eldest had roared, worried but also frustrated, but it was too late. Hyrule had leapt three steps each of the staircase and bolted right back the way they had come, the others in a state of shock before the Captain had begun to chase after him.
“I’ll make sure he won’t kill himself!”
And they, too, were gone.
Six remained.
Twilight’s hands twitched, glancing over to Time who could see the confliction in his eyes. Holding back for him.
He sighed, “Go.”
And now there were Five.
“We will escort you all, come.”
----------
Navigating the new paths of the castle was a little harder than Wild expected. It had been so long since he had trekked these halls, crumbling and blotched with Ganon’s malice as monsters of all kinds chased him. Bad memories, ones he would much prefer to forget, nevermind what this grand palace would have looked like before the chaos of the Calamity. Zelda hadn’t come to see the rebuilding yet either, despite the idea being raised, similar tainted dreams associated with her old home. It was why she stayed with him back in Hateno, making plans and working towards a goal in the confines of brick instead of the towering stone.
Anywho, Hyrule Castle was renewed and with renewal came new things- these were new hallways. Winding and detailed, new rooms had been carved from the remains of old- the webbing of the skulltula only added to the confusion, everything looking the same.
Damned beasts.
Sneaking by another one of those eight legged monstrosities, Wild dipped out of the room quietly and sped his walk to a silent jog, your arms tightening around him. More lucid now, you clung to the man in fear.
“Is he looking for us?” Your voice was a whisper, soft against his ear and making it twitch. “Or did he give up?”
He hated to quash that small spark of hope that dwindled. “I highly doubt it, not when it’s just the two of us.”
Your terrified whimper broke his heart. “He knows I’m the guide- he thinks I have some sort of magical power.”
It made sense, why else would he drag you here-
“He said he wanted it, he said he was going to tear out my heart-”
“Hey, hey, shhhh, shhhh.” The hero held you close, ducking into a corner away from prying eyes as you silently wept into his shoulder. “I won’t let that happen, do you hear me? He won’t touch a hair on your head.”
You’d cried like this only once before. Terrified, choked out, the hero could remember the weight on his chest and the feeling of fingers gently combing through his hair despite the lack of physical appearance with him. Wild could see the shading trees, leaves blowing in the wind as he laid in a pool of his own blood near the dead centre of Giant’s Forest- the Hinox remains laid just a little ways away.
“Please, Link, please you can’t die-” You choked, his heart hurting at the whimper. “You can’t leave me here alone-”
Wild hadn’t been gifted with Mipha’s grace yet. Too busy challenging himself to do more, beat more, he needed to be perfect when the time came to defeat the evil lurking within the cogs of the Divine Beasts. Better yet the malicious monster that resided in Hyrule Castle.
Yet there he laid, chilling and still in the once luscious green grass.
You had saved him somehow of course you had, someone just as amazing and brilliant as his guide would be the one to pull him from the brink of death. He would later wake from his unconscious slumber, laying somewhere different but bandaged and semi-functioning while you sobbed in relief. You never told him what you did, but he trusted you enough to never ask- after all, he always woke up alive, didn’t he?
Alive and remembering your shaking voice as you pleaded with him not to fall victim to his injuries.
Wild hated your frightened tears but at least this time he could do something about it.
Looking at him, broken and afraid, he moved his hand to gently brush away the wetness cornering your eyes. “I’m here for you, (Name).”
You searched his gaze for hesitation but found only sincerity.
“Do you think you can stand?”
“Y..yeah…”
The blonde helped you to your feet gently, his arm careful around you until finally you could stand on your own shaky legs, fighting back the mental exhaustion of it all. The hero pulled his sword from his sheath with his free hand coming to grab your own before tugging you to follow after him quickly, eyes scanning the area then quietly jogging towards another corner.
Another body slammed right into the both of you.
Winded, you could only manage a yelp, falling back along with the wild hero who portrayed a wide eyed protective rage only to gape at the familiar sight of shaggy brown hair and eyes of emerald green with dusted brown as you all crashed down to the floor below, the other form jumping back in surprise.
Hyrule’s sigh of relief held what could have been mistaken for his soul returning to his form.
“(Name).”
“Rulie-” You were tackled, body almost constricted by his tight hug. “Hyrule- Link-”
“I’m sorry.” He rushed out, his face settled in your hair. “I’m so sorry, I’m sorry we couldn’t stop it-”
“‘S’okay-” You sniffled but Hyrule’s shaking breath stopped you.
“It won’t happen again, I promise.”
“...I lost your dagger, I’m sorry-”
“Don’t be silly, you’re more important than a measly blade.” You felt a tear drop into your hair, “So much more important.”
Your own hand came to gently brush his hair, brown curls engulfing your fingers as you worked to relax the tension out of his body. Your other hand still grasped Wild’s, squeezing gently at the digits to remind him that you hadn’t forgotten his presence, far from it. The reassurance was met with a grateful squeeze back.
“Come, we must go.” Once again you stood, the three of you a tight knit with the heroes still brandishing glinting swords. “Who knows where the Shadow could be-”
“There you are!” Hyrule flinched, turning back the way he came to see Warriors and Twilight jog down the hallway, only stopping once they had finally gotten closer- none looked please. “Traveller we’ll talk later about your selective hearing- Champion, (Name), are you alright?”
The Captain looked relieved but with an air of professionalism around him, standing tall with both his sword and shield pulled at the ready for combat. Twilight wasn’t quite sitting in the same boat- the anxiety blooming into relief at the sight of you but more so Wild, muttering a soft ‘thank the goddess’ under his breath before stalking closer to slap him upside the head.
“No more idiocy.”
Wild’s face showed understanding but his eyes sung a different chorus. “You and I have different definitions of what counts as idiotic.”
“I didn’t mean-”
“As I said, later,” Warriors insisted, turning back, “I saw an exit not much further back, we can meet the others outside and discuss any previous misgivings when we are whole-”
“There you are.”
Ice.
An icy chill filled the air around you as your stomach dropped right into a pit of despair, the hairs on the back of your neck standing with electrifying effort accompanied by the feeling of dread dragging a sharpened claw right up your spine.
You turned slowly in comparison to the heroes' snapping spins, swords and shields at the ready while staring with eyes of venom at the seeping shadows that curled round the corner of a following hallway at this crossroads of sorts. Darkness lurked, light from the hanging torches blown away by a haunting whispering wind as a murky blackness finally came into view with eyes of red and a mouth pulled to show rows of too many teeth.
How Nintendo had reduced Dink to something so puny was beyond you- he was fucking horrifying.
“Ah, and the heroes of Courage too- what a delight.” Too many voices, couldn’t he just choose one? You covered your ears like a frightened child. “Have you come to see the execution?”
“Shut your mouth, evil scum.” Hyrule hissed, “The only execution we’ll be witnessing is yours when I behead you-”
“Oh do quieten down, Hero of Hyrule, your words aren’t as impressive as you think.” Hyrule huffed in anger and the Shadow cackled, “Awh, have I upset you fairy boy?”
A phantom red sword flew through the air and Dink dodged with only another laugh, rolling with the darkness beneath his form.
“Oh, almost- better luck- hm? Never.”
From behind you, you felt a shift. Just the tiniest bit of movement but still it had you glancing back quizzically to Twilight, his form stiff and slightly…shaking as panicked eyes stayed focused on the monster in front of you all. You weren’t the only one to notice, however, Wild glancing back in slight concern with Warriors stepping closer to his brother in spirit.
Dink noticed too.
And he smiled wider.
“Hero of Twilight.” He cooed, words dripping honey that hissed and bubbled with underlying poison. “Awh, what’s wrong- seems as if you’ve seen a ghost.”
Twilight’s sword shook in a sweating grip. “Shut your mouth-”
“Or maybe you’re just…” The shadows shifted for a moment and you swore you saw the glinting metal of an Iron Knuckle’s helmet staring right back at you. “...scared.”
Twilight’s ears folded back along with his steps, skin paling.
Warriors looked pissed. “Ranch-hand, do not-”
“Don’t think I’ve forgotten you too, captain.”
Once again, Dink changed, yet this time a younger version of the Captain stared back.
Warrior’s tensed.
No. No you wouldn’t let this happen. No matter your own heart crushing fear you were not about to let this bastard do this to them. Dink could scare you as much as he wanted, threaten you and nearly end your life but you drew the line at the others, you would not let him scare these heroes just like he scared you.
Fucking bastard, using the weakness of others against them.
“I’ll fucking show you…” A muttered growl did not catch his attention, nor did your movement as you leaned down to grab the convenient crumbled brick just a little ways away then stand once again.
You did this lightning fast, not allowing even a moment of hesitation from you or consideration from them as you ditched the slab right at his face.
Surprised chokes left all of them as Dink yelped in pain then cursed, that same demonic growling from earlier leaving him. Despite his body merged in the darkness you could see the blood curl around his fingers as his hands desperately tried to cover the damaged eye that still glared molten scorn right at your figure.
“You litTLE BRAT!” You flinched at the rage but tightened your resolve, standing just before Warriors and Twilight so he would focus on you. “When I get my hands on you again I’ll tear you limb from limb-”
“I don’t think you can.” You were talking nonsense but you didn’t care. “I think you’re too fucking stupid to- I mean I got away once already, whose to say I can’t just do it again?”
You just loved tempting fate, didn’t you? Tempting her and the devil that she tangoed with as Dink’s pupils shrunk in a frenzied rage while his shadows whipped around him angrily, searching for something to break- something to destroy. Hyrule and Wild stepped a little closer together, acting as a shield in case those tendrils of shade got too close.
“Watch your tongue before I cut it out-”
This time the phantom sword struck and it struck hard, impaling right into the Shadow’s shoulder with a gorey ‘schlink’ that pinned him to the wall behind him. The monster shrieked, gargling in pain with volumes that raised and dropped, tones that lightened and deepened while his hand, holding his bleeding eye moved instead to grasp at his punctured shoulder.
There wasn’t much else of the scene to watch when you were thrown over someone’s shoulder and rushed away from it all. You tried turning to count heads and see who had grabbed you so quickly but when the sound of rushing footsteps caught your attention. You stared back at Dink who had sunken into the shadows that chased after you all, the light from the torches vanishing as the darkness caved in on the corridor and filled it with nothing but pitch black.
You could only see his eyes.
Haunting, raging eyes as they chased the five of you, stealing the solace of the light to take over with his gloom.
You were hypnotised by the morbid spectacle.
It was fast.
Really fast.
A quick turn almost gave you whiplash but you still watched him run, dementated as he slammed into the wall before shaking off his daze and crawling like a demon against the floor. Still no body, only shadow as you got closer and closer to a large brightness that hung behind you.
“Almost there!”
“Is it still chasing us!?”
“Dear Hylia in heaven-”
You felt its hatred. You felt its  wrath. You felt its bloodlust and you felt your own fear crawling back down your spine. You imagined those scenes in horror movies, the eldritch abomination scrambling over itself as it frantically chased the poor victim through those darkened scenes- this is what it felt like. This was the dread those innocent people experienced.
You watched helplessly as claws reached out to grab you, infernal cursing catching your ears as its hand loosely missed your saviour’s shirt-
Light almost blinded you as you entered the outside world. The sun glaring down on your small group as they skidded to a stop just before falling right off a collapsing cliff side.
They turned instantly, swords still pulled and ready to fight, your body falling off the shoulder of Hyrule who looked murderous as he kept his sword pointed towards Dink.
The Shadow’s darkness took up the whole of the doorway, twitching and humming with a putrid magic as Dink just stood there. Watching you all with crimson eyes, with black ooze still dripping from one of his sockets along with the hole in his shoulder, he did nothing. Made no move, made no sound, the only thing he did was stare- right at you, centre of the group, burning and hate filled.
You didn’t understand why he didn’t move closer after all he did not burn in the sun. However, maybe the light still had an affect, the monster was a shadow after all and the two did not mix well- maybe this applied to Dink also?
Maybe four was too big of a crowd in the shine of the afternoon sun.
“Well!? What are you waiting for?!” Wild hissed, walking forward only to be grabbed by Twilight. “Fight us, monster!”
Dink’s glare moved to Wild, still just as sinister and vile before he turned back to the darkness and left you at that, standing there and viewing the ordeal with a growing confusion.
Was that…really it?
“Why did it just-”
“Doesn’t matter.” A soberness washed over Warriors, his eyebrows pinching. “If we are to fight him we need the Master Sword, let us return to the group-”
Hyrule’s face was plastered in disbelief. “And just leave that thing there!? It could get away-”
“What would you have us do, traveller!?” The captain looked frazzled, hair messy and eyes wild in contrast to his usual pristine presentation- Dink’s little trick must have gotten to him worse than you had expected. “The Shadow does not die by natural steel, the sword is our only hope!”
Wild looked just as desperate as Hyrule, spinning in Twilight’s grip “So we just leave the beast!? No, if one of us were to return to the others and bring them here-”
“If the beast is still watching us it would be sure to attack if we were alone.” Twilight tightened his hand, a reflex with the champion. “We return to the others whole and discuss a plan.”
“We need to attack while we still have him here!”
An argument bloomed with the men, voices raising along with hands waving but it slowly muffled out the longer that you stood there, eyes still focused on that shaded hallway of trickery and pain.
You had almost died.
The words echoed around your head like a siren in the foggy night, screeching, painful, and anxiety inducing as it clawed at the inner walls of your mind. Scratched in by bloodied fingers of a madman, his fingertips soaked with crimson as he muttered the words like a cruel mantra.
“Dead. Death,” He sung, with a jolly preen, his eyes bloodshot with a lust for pain. “Dying. Suffering. Murdered. Brutalised. Slain. Killed.”
Your breaths became pants. Your pants became chokes. Your chokes became hyperventilating as tears streamed down your face. Clutching desperately at your chest, you frantically heaved for air as your knees buckled beneath you and you fell to the earth below. You couldn’t breathe, you couldn’t speak, only cry and shake as you tried forcing sound to leave you. A whimper. A moan. A word. Hell, a laugh. Yet nothing seemed to break free.
Digging your nails into the position where your  heart pounded, you twisted your hand in a motion, attempting to tear it out. It didn’t work, it wasn’t doing its damn job- better it laid in the dirt with the insects than inside you if it would only serve to be damaged goods.
Nonetheless, you finally managed something. Moments of struggling dragged into hours of torture finally minimalised when you sucked in a massive portion of air, body arching from the pain as you forced it into your lungs.
And you screamed.
Ears ringing as it progressed from a small yell to a blood-curdling wail, voice refusing to break as you tore your throat to let out everything you had bottled down in that last horrible hour.
It had only been an hour.
Your head slammed against the dirt, body curling into itself as you felt your throat grow raw from the excessive shriek. A violent reaction, a bubble ran up your throat and you gagged, pushing yourself higher and hurling your digested breakfast all over the ground, scrunching your watering eyes shut in an effort to avoid the scene of acid and chunks sullying the earth.
Hands reached you, your name being called but it didn’t stop the repeat of gags and sobs.
Your body finally gave out.

Chapter 4- Being Different Ain’t a Bad Thing
Kori hopped around Kakariko with Rela leading the way. It was morning and Kori was excited to explore the village. Though he’d been there several times, there was always something new going on, particularly the clothes shop that just opened. The rest of the group dispersed, Beth and Colin were with Talo while they waited for Luda to get done with whatever she was doing, Malo was checking on his shop that had apparently been open for years, and his father and grandpa were looking for Renado. Kori wanted to talk to Renado and Luda, being some of his favorite people outside of Ordon, but since they were busy, Kori and Rela decided to check the stores. Despite Rela’s protests, he headed straight to the clothes store.
The sun in Kakariko was always strong, and it agitated Kori, so he was glad to be in some shade as he reached the door to the shop. But when he went to open it, it was locked. He frowned, trying a couple more times, but finally stopped. He looked at Rela who had her brows pinched in confusion as well.
“Maybe they’re still setting things up?” Rela suggested, and Kori shrugged.
“Maybe it’s too early in the morning for them,” he also suggested.
“Actually, no one’s here.”
The two kids looked up at Barnes who stared at the locked shop with a concerned look. Kori frowned and tilted his head.
“What do you mean?”
Barnes crossed his arms and pursed his lips. “The owner of this shop, Beverly I think her name was, isn’t here.”
“Where is she?”
“I dunno, she went to visit her parents in castle town and never came back.”
Rela gasped. “Why didn’t she come back? Is she ok?”
“I wish I knew. She apparently never showed up at castle town, her parents sent a letter to Renado askin’ about her. Some folks tried lookin’ for her in the field, but not even her carriage and horse were spotted. It’s almost as if she disappeared without a trace.”
Kori felt a chill go up his spine and he whimpered a bit. That was scary, that she left and never came back, just when she opened up her shop too!
“There’s somethin’ out in Hyrule field,” Barnes continued, staring at the entrance of Kakariko. “There’s been disappearances all throughout Hyrule, a few days after this lady disappeared, a Goron left for Zora’s domain and also never returned. Somethin’ is causin’ this, but what it is, I don’t know.”
Kori looked at Rela worried, who surprisingly didn’t look scared.
“It’s probably a bunch of monsters making a mess of things!!” She said, crossing her arms and resting her weight on one leg. “They’re probably bokoblins, I could wack them upside the head and save everyone!”
Barnes chuckled, and the two started chatting about it while Kori still stared at the entrance with unease. Was there really a monster out there taking people? His father didn’t seem too worried when they traveled here, running as fast as Epona could and splashing in water, but maybe he didn’t know about any of this.
He walked closer to the entrance so that he could see Hyrule field. There didn’t seem to be anything dangerous out there, but he felt unsettled at the thought of something hiding, waiting to grab him any second. He stared at the rocks around him and whimpered, backing up so he was around people. He didn’t want to get taken by a monster.
He spun around and walked quickly towards the village, staring at the ground until he bumped into someone. A woman spun around and glared at Kori, but then she took a step back, holding her basket of clothes protectively.
“Good goddesses!” She exclaimed, backing away from. “Get away from me you… you fiend!”
Kori looked around, shaking from fear now. Was she talking to him?
“I—I’m sorry—“
“Get away from me!” She yelled again, swatting her hand around violently, causing Kori to jump back, tears forming in his eyes.
“Hey! What’s your deal?”
Kori looked to see Barnes and Rela walking towards them, both looking upset.
“What’s my deal? This thing here just attacked me!”
Kori looked at her in shock. “I— I didn’t—“
Barnes stepped in front of Kori, blocking his vision. “Let’s get one thing straight, Kori is not a thing, he’s a little boy! And he didn’t attack you! I saw, he just bumped into you! I will not tolerate that type of language towards him!”
The woman scoffed, leaning over to see Kori, but Barnes moved so her vision was still blocked.
“Hey lady!” Rela started, “why don’t you just mind your own business and leave him alone!”
“Well he ran into me! I at least expect an apology!”
Kori stared hard at the ground, trying to control his emotions.
“I—I did— I did apologize,” he said quietly.
“Excuse me? Are you sassing me now?” She shrieked, causing Kori to flinch. He didn’t look at her though, he was too scared. “Look at me when I’m talking to you! If you want to be a human so bad, act like it, you freak!”
“That’s enough!” Barnes yelled, leading her away from him. “You, go continue on with your business!”
She huffed and looked back at the group. “If you keep letting creatures like him in here, more people will disappear! It’s only a matter of time!”
“Kori has been comin’ here longer than you have, I think I’ll take my chances,” Barnes said coolly, and the woman stormed off, almost ramming into Renado who looked concerned. He looked at Barnes, then at Kori, and from behind him, his grandpa and father emerged, and Kori couldn’t stop the tears from falling. He jogged over to his father and buried his face in legs.
“Oh Kori,” his father said softly, rubbing his back as he cried. He heard Rela storm past them and yell out a cuss word at the woman, being pulled back by Rusl.
“Thank you for handling that Barnes,” Renado said, and the man waved the thanks away.
“No one messes with the Ordon kids. Not on my watch anyways.”
Kori turned and looked at Barnes.
“T-thank you,” he mumbled, and Barnes ruffled his hair.
“You take care of yourself Kori. I’m gonna go back to my shop, but you folks let me know if you need anythin’. If ya want, I can give you one of my new types of bombs.”
Kori looked at his father who had both a small smile and an annoyed look on his face.
“Right, not old enough for bombs. Well, my shop is open so stop by if you need anythin’.”
“Of course, Barnes, thank you,” his father said.
“Happy birthday Kori,” Barnes muttered before walking away.
Renado watched him for a moment, then looked back at Kori, giving him a sad smile.
“I’m sorry that happened, Kori. There’s been some newcomers and… well… they’re not used to people who are different.”
Kori looked down, then walked over to Renado, giving him a hug. The man chuckled and rubbed his head.
“Do you want to go to the sanctuary? Luda is there and I’m sure she’d love to see you.”
Kori sniffed and nodded, clinging onto Renado as he walked to the sanctuary, with his father following closely behind.
He heard his dad and grandpa talking quietly, but there was a hint of anger in their voices. Rela walked on his other side, her hand resting on his back. He felt relieved when they got close to the sanctuary, glad to be out of the sun and away from strangers. They quickly headed inside, and the smell of cinnamon filled the air. There seemed to be one patient lying on a cot sleeping, but Luda, Beth, Colin, and Talo were all huddled in a corner on the opposite side. They all smiled when they entered, but they picked up on the tense energy, and Talo was at Kori’s side in seconds.
“What’s with the puffy eyes, kiddo?” He asked, and Kori shrugged silently.
“Oh, sweetheart, what’s wrong?” Luda came up behind Talo.
“Um, I…” with all eyes on him, he shrunk back, and Renado nudged him towards them.
“Rela, go sit down with Kori,” he said, giving the others a look. As Kori sat down, he heard Renado explaining the situation to the others, and he just stared at the wall. His father sat on the other side from Rela, and he rubbed his back, which felt nice from what happened before.
The woman’s yelling wouldn’t leave his mind, her raised voice, her red face, the things she said, it all reminded Kori too much of Sera and Jaggle. He was no stranger to that type of behavior towards him, but it still hurt. Everyone came by where he was sitting after the quick explanation, giving him small hugs and words of affirmation.
“That sounded like Vanessa, she’s kind of a grump,” Luda said, giving him a tight squeeze.
“Oh I can think of a different word for her,” Talo grumbled, and Luda gave him a look.
“Not in front of the kids, Tal.”
Link chuckled and gave Kori a kiss on the head. “A big meanie is more like it.”
Kori gave a small smile. “She was a big meanie.”
Everyone chuckled.
“You know the things she said to you aren’t true, right?” Rela said in a soft and caring voice.
“Oh… yeah, yeah,” Kori said quickly, but her stare got more firm.
“Rela’s right, Kori,” his grandpa knelt in front of him. “You’re not a fiend, or a thing, or whatever she called you. You are Kori, a sweet kid who just turned ten and loves animals and soup!”
Kori smiled slightly, feeling his cheeks go warm from the attention. His father gave him a big squeeze.
“You’re my son, Kori. You always will be.”
“Yeah! I’m proud to have you as my nephew!” Rela cheered.
“Me too!” Colin said.
“And I’m proud to have you as my grandson,” his grandpa smiled.
“And I’m proud to have you as my favorite little guy!” Talo exclaimed, and the others agreed.
“They just don’t know you like we do, and we know that you’re amazing, Kori,” Luda reassured. Kori lowered his head, his face growing more and more warm. The group all huddled around him, giving him hugs and talking about how amazing he was.
“Oy.”
The group stopped their love-bombing and looked at the patient on the other side of the room.
“Don’t let that lady get you down, little man,” he said, pointing his finger at him.
Kori giggled and rubbed the back of his head.
“Thank you.”
“No problem. Now, if you don’t mind, it’s a little loud in here and I’m trying to listen to Miss Luda’s instructions and sleep.”
“Oh!” Luda stood up and bowed. “Apologies, we’ll quiet down for you.”
The man waved her apology away and closed his eyes.
“We weren’t going to stay anyways,” Renado said, giving Kori’s father and grandfather a look. They both nodded and stood up.
“Woah, where are y’all going?” Talo asked.
“Boring adult stuff,” Rusl joked, “it’ll bore you to tears.”
“Uh, I am an adult. We’re all adults, except for Kori and Rela and Malo. Speaking of which, where is Malo?”
Rusl shrugged. “I never know where that kid is. Anyways, we’re gonna do top secret boring super adult stuff, so you kids have fun.”
Everyone waved and Kori’s father gave him a kiss on the head. “We’ll hang out tomorrow, ok? I love you son.”
“I love you too papa.”
He smiled and ruffled his hair, leaving the sanctuary with his grandpa and Renado. When they left, Talo sighed.
“Well, what do we do now?”
“We could look at the shops,” Beth suggested, “that’s why we’re here anyways.”
Kori looked down, he didn’t want to be out there, especially with that lady there. Even if it meant looking at the shops.
“Do you want to do that Kori?” Colin asked, picking up on his hesitation.
“I—I don’t… I don’t know.”
“Let’s go to the hot spring!” Rela shouted, causing Luda to shoot her a glare.
“That sounds like a great idea,” Luda said more quietly, gesturing to the sleeping patient. “That oughta help us relax!”
Kori looked down again, staring at his clasped hands.
“What is it, Kori?” His uncle asked.
“I don’t wanna see that lady again,” he mumbled.
“Don’t worry, Kori! I’ll protect you!” Talo said enthusiastically. “With me by your side, you’ll never feel unsafe again! I’ll give all your enemies a wham! And a pow! And a whack!”
Kori giggled as Talo pretended to be fighting someone, dramatically acting out being punched. Colin joined the pretend battle, both giving dramatic wails as one fell and acted as if he was hurt. Beth sat down next to Kori and rested her hand on his shoulder.
“We got your back, Kori,” she assured, and Kori smiled.
“Thank you. I’m… I’m glad you’re my friends,” he said, staring at his wringing hands.
“Aww,” Talo smiled at him and gestured to the door with his head. “Shall we find my dumb brother and hang out at the hot springs then?”
Kori smiled and nodded.
“Then let’s go!” Talo shouted, causing Luda to scold him, and the group laughed as they all clambered to the door, excited to relax in the hot spring.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was dark inside the abandoned clothing shop, and dust caused Rusl to cough slightly.
“Goddesses, how long had she been gone?” He asked, waving the dust away from his face.
“A little over a week. I knew she was going to be gone for a while, so her not being here for a couple of days didn’t concern me,” Renado looked around, a worried expression on his face, “but the letter from her parents did.” He sighed sadly, staring at all the clothes left on dummies and table tops. “She was going to officially open it two days ago, everyone’s been looking forward to it.”
Rusl looked sadly at the store. It was a cute little shop, with purple walls and colorful fabrics all over it. Clearly she worked hard at achieving this dream, and it made Rusl want to find her even faster. Renado let out a sigh and turned to the two men.
“I suppose I’ll leave you two be, I’ll be sure to report whatever you find to Sheik, I know how much he likes things written down,” he said, heading to the door. “Do let me know if you need anything.”
Rusl smiled and nodded at his old friend. He shut the door gently, and Rusl turned to his son, who was fiddling with what he called a shadow crystal. Apparently it was how he was able to turn into a wolf, despite twilight no longer existing in Hyrule.
“Alright, go crazy,” he said, and Link unwrapped it, darkness encasing him as he went on all fours. Rusl took a step back, watching him with awe. He rarely saw him as a wolf, but the fact that he was able to do it was incredible to him. Link sniffed around the store, occasionally knocking over a box or two, and Rusl groaned. “Hey, try not to make a mess, alright?”
Link gave Rusl a look, and he almost snorted. The expressions he had as a wolf were admittedly hilarious. Link sniffed around for a while until he concentrated on a spot, and he jumped, looking around frantically.
“What is it? Did you find her scent?”
Link made a noise which Rusl assumed was “yes”, and he jumped onto a table pushing a window open.
“Woah, woah Link, what are you doing?” He ran over to his son who was sticking his head out the window. “People are gonna see you! Can’t you just turn back into a human and then go hunting for her?”
Link gave him a look and he jumped out the window, hanging onto a windowsill and climbing onto the roof. Rusl groaned and followed him.
Link stayed near the rocky walls surrounding the village, being careful as to not be spotted, meanwhile Rusl did everything he could to block everyone’s view from his son. Luckily no one seemed to notice the man and the wolf on top of the roof, all except Renado and Barnes who looked at them weirdly. Rusl forced a smile and waved at the two casually, then returned to his investigation. When they reached the end, Link hopped down and hid behind the house, looking for an opening to run to the entrance. Rusl hopped down behind him, and Link was already sprinting towards the entrance.
“Link!” He hissed after him, but he was hidden behind the rocky walls. Rusl groaned and jogged where he went. He was patiently waiting for Rusl behind a rock, and when he took off running again, Rusl wished he grabbed his horse. They were running across the big field where bulblins used to roam, and Link was traveling on the path to Hyrule castle, but he stopped abruptly past a pond, right before the bridge to Castle Town. He sniffed for a moment, then turned and ran for the Bridge of Eldin.
“Ah, Link,” Rusl panted, catching his breath before running after him. As he ran, the field looked normal for there being so many disappearances. There weren’t any scuff marks, any signs of struggles, and no debris and lost belongings. But the new path Link was taking was strange. If she was heading to Castle Town, then why was her scent taking them to the Bridge of Eldin? The two crossed the bridge to Rusl’s surprise, Link turning sharply when they reached the end, but when Rusl caught up to him, he was sniffing around frantically, spinning around and eyeing the field in front of him. Rusl frowned at his reaction. They were near a cliff side, tucked away behind the bridge, but there was nothing here. He got a sinking feeling as Link sat down, letting out a huff.
“Link? What is it?”
His son was surrounded by darkness, and his Hylian form started to stand up, his face twisted in confusion.
“The scent ends here.”
Rusl frowned. “What do you mean?”
“Like, it ends here. It doesn’t continue.”
Rusl looked down, dread resting in his stomach. “Is she… is she dead?”
Link shrugged. “I don’t know. If she was, I would've still been able to smell her.”
“I’m confused.”
Link let out a frustrated sigh and gestured to the cliff in front of him. “It’s hard to explain, but as a wolf, I can almost see smell, if she was buried under ground, I would’ve been able to see the scent go underground. If she went over the cliff, I would’ve been able to see the scent over the cliff. But that’s not what happened here, the scent just ends. It doesn’t go anywhere. Almost as if she…” Link trailed off, staring at the ground.
“What?”
Link pursed his lips. “Almost as if she doesn’t exist anymore.”
Rusl stood there staring at him, and Link let out a bitter laugh.
“I don’t know, pa. I know this is weird but that’s all I can really explain.”
Rusl sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “Alright, alright. Did you happen to… lose the scent?”
“I mean,” Link huffed, “it doesn’t feel like it. It ends too abruptly.”
Rusl pursed his lips. “Maybe whatever took her hid her scent or something? Is there a new scent?”
“There’s a lot of scents, pa.”
“Ok, maybe you just lost the scent or something, let’s head back and tell Renado what happened before it gets dark, ok?”
Link sighed and nodded, heading towards the bridge.
“And Link?”
His son turned around and looked at Rusl intently.
“Let me get my horse next time? You’re a little too fast for me.”
He grinned and rolled his eyes, turning again towards the bridge and walking to Kakariko, which Rusl was grateful for. He may be well fit and could run well, but age had started to catch up to him, and Kori constantly ramming into his knees certainly didn’t help.
It was almost surreal being in Hyrule field with no monsters looking to attack them. Sure, there were a few, but they kept their distance from the two men as they walked on the trail. He remembered days of constantly shooting and fighting monsters that ambushed him, with it only getting worse with the twilight invasion. But it all slowly went away with time, with peace actually feeling possible to Rusl. Well, almost possible. There was still the missing people situation.
The sun was beginning to set when they came back to Kakariko, and Renado looked relieved when he saw them.
“I was starting to get worried,” he said. “I saw you on the roof and then you were both gone. What happened?”
Rusl gave Link a look who pursed his lips.
“I’m… not sure.”
Renado looked at Rusl confused and he shrugged. “We’ll explain it to you inside. Where’s the kids?”
Renado gestured to the horse stable with his head, and Rusl grinned. “Taking care of the horses huh?”
“They love doing it.”
The two men laughed, and Link stepped up, a more serious look on his face.
“How’s Kori?”
Renado looked at him, then back at the stable. “From what I’ve seen, he’s been having a lot of fun.”
Link smiled slightly, and he headed for the stables where his son was. Rusl stayed back and talked to Renado for a bit, then the large group of kids exited the horse stable. The group all went and got supper, relaxing from what seemed to be an eventful day for the kids. Rusl was grateful for the break, the running across Hyrule field took him out, and before he knew it, he and Link were fast asleep after they ate.
They both woke up early in the morning as everyone else stayed asleep, and Link gave him a teasing smile.
“Did all that running tire you out, old man?”
“Oh hush up, it got to you too.”
“Not as bad as you,” Link sighed and stared at the ceiling. “We’ll just have more running today.”
“No, you will have more running. I’ll be on my horse.”
Link grinned and got up, staring at his sleeping son with love in his eyes. He stooped down and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
“You have a good day, Kori,” he whispered, and got his boots on. “We should beat the crowd if we leave right now.”
Rusl gave him a nod and got ready himself. The sky was a beautiful lavender color when they started climbing death mountain, turning darker from the smoke the volcano emitted. The climb up the mountain was anything but pleasant, but he was relieved when they found the chief by the hot springs, not having to climb anymore. Link spoke to him about the missing Goron, and after being given an item, they took off once again.
Unfortunately, their investigation of the missing Goron ended the same as the missing woman. Link would turn into a wolf, smell the scent off an item, then take a path that made sense to Rusl. They were on their way to Zora’s domain (thankfully Rusl had his horse this time around) and then the path once again took a strange turn away from the destination, and then the scent ended, according to Link. It all became more and more baffling to Rusl, and it began to freak him out just a bit. But he still tried to make sense of it. Though Link’s wolf abilities were incredible, they weren’t perfect, and there was a good chance that he simply lost the scent, or it was replaced. That had to be it.
After heading back to Kakariko and explaining the situation to the Goron chief and Renado, they decided to finally rest and spend the rest of the day with the kids. Kori grew impatient and wanted to go to the toy store to finally get his gift, and Link happily obliged. But Rusl couldn’t help but notice Kori’s gaze on the clothes shop, a somber look on his face.
“So where did you and Link go?” Colin asked while Link and Kori headed inside, leaving the rest to loiter outside.
“Oh, we uh…” Rusl got close and kept his voice low. “There’s been some disappearances and the resistance is trying to look for clues.”
Colin’s eyes widened and he nodded. Not many people knew about the resistance, but Colin was one of the few who knew. Being his own son, Rusl trusted him with such a secret.
“Did you… find anything?” Colin asked after a moment of silence, worry apparent on his face.
“No, we didn’t find anything. No tracks, no lost items, nothing. Even Link’s wolf senses couldn’t find anything.”
Colin frowned and glanced at Rela, who was sneaking up behind a cuccoo.
“Try to keep this to yourself, I don’t want to scare anyone,” Rusl said, and Colin snorted.
“Well Barnes told Rela and Kori about the disappearances so…”
Rusl scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Of course he did.”
Colin smiled and chuckled a little. “He doesn’t think about that type of stuff. But don’t worry, the secret is safe with me.”
Rusl smiled and gave him a little squeeze. “I know it is.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Link watched as Kori looked around the shop, the shopkeepers watching him with pleasant looks in their eyes. They were a couple, relatively new to Kakariko, but they’ve seen Kori enough times to grow fond of him.
“What’s the occasion?” The woman behind the counter asked as Kori excitedly looked at the new line of toys.
“It was his birthday a couple of days ago,” Link said, ruffling his hair as he eyed toy soldiers. “He gets a new gift for making it to ten years!”
“Oh my!” The man who was her husband exclaimed, setting down a crate of toys next to an empty shelf. “That’s a big deal!”
“Well happy birthday young one,” the one behind the counter said with a smile. “Why don’t we give you a thirty percent discount just for that!”
Link looked at her in shock. “Oh you— you don’t have to do that!”
“No, we insist! It’s a special occasion!” Her husband said excitedly. “You’re always so well behaved anyways!”
Kori glanced at Link, excitement apparent on his face, but not quite understanding what a discount was. Link smiled and looked at the two shopkeepers.
“Y’all are awfully sweet, thank you.”
The two grinned at him as Kori gently played with the different toys. He made small talk with the two shopkeepers until Kori finally ran up to Link, clutching a cat stuffed animal in his arms, a big toothy grin on his face.
“A stuffed animal? You already have Billy the Goat!” Link said lightheartedly, and Kori frowned.
“But… he needs a friend!”
“Don’t you want a different type of toy? A toy Gramma can’t make on her own?”
“But, but I want Jasper!” Kori cried.
“Jasper?”
“Jasper the cat!”
Link, stared at him for a moment, then let out a hearty laugh. “Oh, alright, but only since you already named it.”
Kori squealed with glee and hugged Jasper as Link paid for the new toy. He once again thanked the kind shopkeepers and they started to head to the door.
“Is that a good enough toy for the big ten years?” He asked as he rested his hand on the handle, and Kori’s gaze turned blank.
“Well, I think I want one more thing,” he muttered, hugging the cat plushie to his chest. Link tilted his head.
“What could that be?”
Kori pursed his lips and glanced at the wall, a worried look on his face. “I want the missing people to come back home, like that lady who owns the clothing shop. I want her home safely.”
Link’s eyes widened, his concern and desire for such a thing at his age shocking him. He smiled and ruffled his hair. “Is it ‘cause you want the stuff from her store?” He teased slightly, and Kori looked up at him.
“No! I’m just… if I was her family, I would be sad that she’s gone. If you or mommy disappeared… I’d be really sad, and scared.”
Link’s teasing manner dropped immediately, and he pulled him close.
“Oh Kori,” He muttered, “you sweet thing.” He hugged him for a moment, frowning at the wall. “I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do that Kori… But I’ll do my best.”
Kori pouted slightly and buried his face in Link’s leg, and the two left the shop with the new birthday present in his arms.

Silly headcanons for LU boys!
Time: While he claims to fear nothing, if he saw Princess Ruto, he'd be running for the hills shouting "Not today demon!". He calls Malon "wifey" as his main pet name for her, but will also call her "Sweets" "darling" and "love"
Warriors: He's trans. Fight me on that. My guy has gotten the surgeries he can pay for, and he's happy about that. He also grew up in a more dangerous place so he knows a lot more than he lets on. He's an amazing pick-pocket and can, if he wanted to, stab you literally in the back without even Wolfie or Wild know he was there. Sneaky sneaky. His fear, because I thought it was funny and because he doesn't know the difference between a cow and a bull and has seen too many rodeos as a kid, is cows.
Twilight: SUPER delicate. For how strong he is, he has no idea if one hug will squish someone. He also, even though he's been told not to, will juggle the goats. Don't worry, he asks beforehand to make sure the goats will be okay with it. Twilight is also a HUGE Mama's boy. While he loves his father Time *cough cough*, getting validation from MALON sends him to the stars. Lastly, his fear, because as Wolfie he accidentally breathed them in, is ants.
Sky: We all know him for being sweet and kind and a total beast when someone hurts those he loves, but he also, after hurting those people, will apologize for hurting them cause he suddenly feels really guilty about it. Sometimes, if he gets the chance, he'll carve minifigures of the others and hide them in his pouch, when the others finally found out, his pouch was overflowing with animals, but mostly them. Sky would be the type of person to carve the lead in pencils. His fear, scarecrows. Do I need to say more?
Legend: Oh boy, here we go, Legend is autistic. That's the main thing. Anytime his orchard gives a good production of apples, he gets really excited and will word vomit to anyone close by most of the time it's Ravio since they live together and are dating. He may be an awful cook, but his baking skills can challenge even Wild. He mainly bakes apple desserts, but loves to try new recipes, as long as no one gets in his way. He's a big neat freak and feels really embarrassed when someone sees his house as a mess. Being a hoarder and a neat freak is hard though, so he ends up trying to clean everything and it looks barely better then before. His moto, like mine, is: "if I don't do it now, it'll never get done." Which leads him to collapsing from exhaustion because he tries to do everything at once. Legend has bad joints, surprise surprise, so he drinks tea in the morning and at night to counter that. Because of this cute story I read, I think that whenever Legend is around people that he loves, in a home that he feels safe in, because of a side effect of being Bunny, he will fall asleep right then and there. Finally, Legend fears thunderstorm, for obvious reasons, loosing more people he loves, quite obvious, and Cuccos, also obvious.
Hyrule: Also a Mama's boy. Even though he doesn't know his Mama, though he soon will, he likes to hang around Malon when on the farm and ask all the questions he can think of. He can't read, like most believe, or write, but he is surprisingly really good at interpretation and reading lips. His fear, water, poor baby can't swim and has had too much trauma around it.
Wild: This one's a lot too. Wild is also autistic, and a huge introvert. When first introduced to the chain, he either ran away, or would hide in trees most of the time out of fear of them. Wild actually collects makeup, and dresses, and is really good at hair and applying makeup, though he can't do his own hair for squat. Wild has insanely good hearing from "growing up" in the middle of nowhere, and acts animalistic, ex: growling when he feels he's in danger, whimpering when in pain, when he yelps it sounds more like a yip, curling up in a tight ball when he sleeps. Wild, though he hunts a lot, actually really loves animals, and takes care to only hunt the animals if there are too many, or if the animal is sick or injured beyond repair. When he has a memory, his heart stops and he stops breathing, almost like his spirit has been transported to that point in time. Super supporter in anything, unless it's something that's harmful to his family, ex: transphobia, homophobia, making sexual comments to those who are asexual and/or not interested. Is afraid of anything that reminds him of the Shrine of Resurrection.
Four: Any and every time he exits a portal, his mind splits so the colors are there, but Four is physically the only one there. His shadow always seems to move on its own, and he sometimes talks to it when he's feeling down. If he's given a recipe, he's a decent cook, but without one, his food would turn out like Hyrule's. When he's not spilt, his fingernails are painted. Thumb black, pointer green, middle blue, ring violet, pinky red. When at the farm, he snatches all of the groups armor, weapons, and shields and repairs them, otherwise his favorite chore is to tend to the horses. His fear, I think it's obvious, loosing more people he loves.
Wind: The air around him always smells of salt, and he never seems to run out of energy. Though he hates being the youngest of the group, he does take advantage of it to get away with doing stupid things, until he gets hurt, then he gets in trouble. Being youngest, he obviously gets baby, but there are times where he is the one babying one of the others, and those are times he uses to manipulate the others. He is a pirate, pirate equals treasure hunter, also pick-pocket, also knowing every swear in the book, also having a flask of rum. When the others learn of this, Time confiscates his flask until he discovers non-alcoholic stuff that tastes the same, never telling Wind. Wind's fear, Time's disappointed look.
I wrote this in my headcanon age order, do what you wish with this 😈

Kinktober Masterlist <<< Day 9>>>Day 11
Tumblr media
What a sight you were.
Sage would admit that he was not as…merciful as he felt most would’ve preferred. He liked watching your eyes shine with unshed tears, your lower lashes clumping together as low whimpers choked through your throat. He got a bit of a kick out of hearing you cry and whimper, thighs shaking uncontrollably as overstimulation rocked your entire system. Just watching you attempt to plead with him, blabbering nonsense and gibberish as you brainlessly obeyed his every command.
It gave him such a kick. Such a rush of power that thrummed in his veins. Made his skin buzz in a maddening warmth that gave him a complex most likely too big for his ego, let alone his crumbling sanity.
But there was something so devious about this recently hatched plan that he almost felt bad.
Almost.
Zonai tech was something he himself didn’t even fully understand, yet he knew enough he could bullshit his way through it. And he had become fairly good at bullshitting. It had taken a few tries and a few missteps, but he had gotten his design patented at long last and what a payout it was.
It was so erotic watching the machine move, the circular gears interlocking within one and another as the pole attached pulled back then pushed forward, drawing out another noise from you. It made it all so worth it.
Had he gotten looks from a few Zora after he commissioned the newest glass piece in his collection? Yes. But it was so worth it. Watching the milky sheen of your own fluids coat the frosty glass as the gears continued rolling. In and out, over and over. He could speed it up or slow it down if he so wished, moving it closer for a more intense hit against your sweet spot. All with the control panel on his Purah pad which he could man from the comfort of his favorite armchair.
Slowly Sage palmed his own cock, thumbing it up and down in time with the slow rolls of the gears, hearing you cry out with every thrust forward. If he had any respect for the rotten goddess’ that claimed to watch over the land of Hyrule, he’d consider thanking them.
As it stood currently, he’d remain his own god and thank himself, squeezing his shaft as he turned up the speed, hearing you sob out his name as another orgasm shook your core.

If you’re after ideas, I’ve been playing TOTK and all this Korok hatred is devastating to me.
I love the little guys!
I would die for them!
So how about a Reader who meets the Koroks and is immediate in love to the point they have to be pryed away?
( or just some koroks. I love them so much!)
Oh my god??? I just looked them up and they're so cute????? Why do people hate them? Are they annoying or sumn? 😭
Anyway, here. I made this a bit of a jealous Wild x reader (bc it just makes sense lmao) with slight yandere themes
I'm sorry if anything's a bit off, I have never and probably will never play Totk (nothing against it, I'm just a bit broke and have bills n shit... adulting sucks dammit). So if I misinterpret anything, I'm sorry 😭😭😭
So here! Enjoy! (Also sorry this is super short.)
Attention (Jealous!Yandere!Wild x Reader)
Wild sighed for what had to be the hundredth time that day. They'd landed in his Hyrule recently, and on the way to Hateno, some Koroks had appeared.
The Koroks themselves weren't the problem; they were harmless. The problem was that no one could seem to get the little guys away from you.
"Oh my god, they're so cute!" Wild hears you coo, kneeling down in front of one of them. The little guy lets you pick him up, and you swear your heart is melting.
"Aww... Wild, look! He's letting me hold him..." Your blonde boyfriend hears you say. He loves the look on your face, damn near heart-eyed and pouty lipped as you hold the little Korok in your arms.
Oh, how he loved that face. He just wishes it was over him and not some little creature. He does his best to keep his cool.
"I know, daffodil, they're cute, aren't they?" he smiles. He's called you daffodil since you started dating; he's not sure how or why, it just seemed to suit you. Your bright, beautiful smile and your happy personality...
He wishes you'd pay a bit more attention to him, though.
"They're so cute, oh my god..." You whine, your heart melting.
Wild hears you whimper in delight as the little Korok nuzzles your cheek. You have the most adorable expression on your face, and he can practically see your heart melting through your eyes.
"Daffodil, we should maybe let them go now, yeah? They need to go home. It's getting late." Wild says, coming up to place his hand on your back.
"Aww... but I wanna keep him, he's so cute... and look! He likes me too...." you say as the Korok nuzzles you once more.
"I know, sweetheart, but I need you to let him go now, okay?"
"But..."
He sighs; but then, he gets an idea as you reluctantly put down the Korok. The little creature hugs your leg, not letting go. Wild looks over your shoulder, pretending something is behind you. "Daffodil, there's more over there, see?" He says, nodding once in that direction.
As you excitedly whip around with a happy "Really?!", Wild takes that opportunity to pull the little shit off your leg and punt it into the bushes as hard as he can. You were his, dammit.
You turn back around with a sad expression. "I didn't see anything... Where'd--...?" You question, looking around for the little one that was just here.
Wild only gives you an innocent smile.
"I think he had to go home, sweetheart..." He says, walking up to you and placing a hand on your back again. He pulls you close, kissing the top of your head as you sigh.
"C'mon, daffodil, let's get back to camp, okay?" he says with a smile.
Your shoulders droop, and you nod, walking with him. Someday, he thinks.
Someday, it'll be your own little one your coo over, a perfect mix of you and him.
Someday...

Febuwhump Day 1 — Helpless
Day one! Just a reminder that I’m sticking to my lu Incredibles au for this, which is more or less a superhero au (if you need more explanation, feel free to ask!). I’m not going to do every day of febuwhump this year, but I’m going to do a bunch! I’m excited to share what I’ve been working on :)
Also me and @thepinklink collaborated on things this year— she’s made some fantastic art to go with the fics! :D
You can see today’s here!
Anyway, here’s some more Hyrule backstory, as suggested by a couple people. Warning for some child abuse (nothing extreme, but it is there) and mentioned past injuries.
Read on ao3
————————————————————
Link clutched his bag to his chest as he crept down the hallway, heart thudding in his ears as he stepped shakily past a door with a faint light shining out from under it.
It didn’t open once he was past though, no voices coming from inside, and Link softly exhaled, continuing on his way.
He made extra care to avoid the boards he knew creaked, even though they were hard to spot with the only source of light being a sliver of uncertain moonlight shining in through a window. He had most of the boards memorized at least, but it was still tricky, and the bit of snow piled on the sill wasn’t helping matters.
Link bit his lip as he stepped past the stairs and the rotten board to the side that nobody had replaced, and squinted through the dark for the door that led to the street outside. It was right over here somewhere, but the faint light from the window didn’t reach this far.
“Where do you think you’re going?!”
Link’s heart shot straight up into his throat as a hand grabbed his arm and yanked him backwards, forcing him to drop the small bag he’d had clutched in his arms. His meager possessions spilled out on the floor, and Link swallowed thickly as he looked up at who’d caught him, a man named Carok.
“Well?” he asked sharply, and Link scrambled for an excuse, his exhausted mind not up to its usual speed.
“I-I was just... I wanted to go outside?” he stuttered.
“In this weather?” Carok snorted, glaring at him. “No... I don’t think so. You know the Eyes of Ganon don’t take kindly to deserters, brat.”
But I’m not deserting! I’m not one of you! You just won’t let me leave! Link wanted to wail, but his throat had grown too tight for him to speak anymore.
“We give you a home, a dry place to sleep, food and shelter and a purpose, and you repay us by running away?” Carok spat, and Link looked down at his dirty boots, trying not to cry. Crying always made it worse. He wouldn’t cry.
Carok glared at him, and dragged Link back down the hallway, ignoring his weak struggles to get away.
He’d been so close.
He’d thought everyone was asleep, and since he’d had to heal that one guy’s hand (his stomach still rolled thinking of it), he assumed they would think he was still too tired to try anything. And admittedly, he was exhausted, but this was the first chance he’d gotten in ages to try and get away.
He’d only been stuck with this group for a few months, but he wanted out.
And he’d completely screwed it up.
Carok opened a door and shoved him inside, and Link’s hands grew clammy as he looked around, realizing he was in the cellar they always locked him in when he’d done something really wrong.
“Boss’ll deal with you tomorrow,” Carok growled as he slammed the door and locked it. “Take some time to think about how grateful you should be that we take care of you.”
Link didn’t bother replying that they hadn’t even remembered to feed him today.
He whimpered as Carok stomped away, and he sat down, tucking his arms around his knees and curling up into a tight ball. He’d try and get out, but he’d been thrown in here enough times to know that it wasn’t possible. No windows, and no doors aside from the one he’d just been shoved through.
Just dark and oppressive, and even colder then where Link usually slept.
He sniffled, allowing the tears he’d been fighting to keep back come out now that he was alone. Pain throbbed out from his arm where he’d been grabbed, and Link lit his palm up just a little, rubbing his hand over the worst of it while tears slipped down his nose.
Bruises were tricky though, and he could only ease the soreness a little. Not to mention they hated when he used his powers on himself, and he was still worn from using his healing so much, so Link only soothed the worst of it before letting his light fade, the darkness falling over the room once more.
Link rested his head on his knees, and closed his eyes, barely able to tell the difference from having them open.
He just wanted to leave. The other places he remembered living had been bad, but this one was millions worse. His old caretakers may have forced him to heal every little scrape and prick of a finger, and gone between ignoring and screaming at him at the drop of a hat, but at least the worst injury he’d ever healed there had been a broken arm.
Here he had to deal with gunshots, and knife wounds, and horribly burnt hands that were nearly blackened from—
Link swallowed thickly, trying not to be sick again. He’d already thrown up once after he’d healed those burns, and didn’t want to smell it all night.
Once he managed to get his stomach to settle, Link thought back to his failed escape, dread chilling his bones at Carok’s parting words. The boss wasn’t forgiving at all, and Link really didn’t want to be in the same room as him when he found out he’d tried to leave. He still had the scar on his back from the last time he’d messed up.
Link wiped his nose, wrapping his hands tighter around his knees.
He was sick of living like this, stuck with people who only wanted his powers, constantly scared of what he’d be forced to do. It made living on the streets look like fun in comparison, and that was saying something.
A sudden exhaustion washed over him, and Link buried his face in his knees.
He hated them. He hated this place, and the people who kept him here. And he so badly wanted to hate his powers that had gotten him trapped here too, but he... he couldn’t.
Despite it all, Link liked having powers. They made him feel special, and fixing injuries always felt right, deep in his chest. It was useful too, even when it wore him out and made him feel dizzy, and Link really did like them. He just... wished they hadn’t gotten him here.
Link looked back at his bruised arm, and something hot burned in his middle as he thought again of escape.
This was only a setback. He wasn’t going to stay here, he was going to get out, and never do anything he didn’t want to ever again! He’d find somewhere where he’d never be cold, or hungry, or hit when he did something wrong, he’d go wherever he wanted!
Link wiped his face with his sleeve, and settled in for a cold night, thoughts already going towards another escape attempt when he got out.
He would get away from here.
And when he did, he’d finally be safe.

oh my goodness skytime my beloved
does sky ever try to cook for time? like he's definitely not wild's level, but I imagine he's not making eldritch atrocities that would put gordon ramsay into immediate cardiac arrest (cough cough hyrule).
is there anything in specific they buy/look for for each other when shopping? we know time gets sky sweets, but does sky get anything for time?
is sky always scared of lightning/thunder or is it just when he's not in his right mind? and how does time help him down from that if it's frequent?
does time ever get really protective/defensive of sky? like in the mornings, if he's not fully up will he be sort of growly if someone tries to wake sky? or when they're in battle, will he unintentionally pay a bit more attention to how sky's doing?
when they have nightmares, what do they do to calm each other down?
sorry for the ungodly amount of yapping lol I can't get enough of them
Oh my god PLEASE this is EXACTLY the distraction I need tonight, I appreciate all the thoughts!! Under the cut for length.
Sky didn't cook a whole lot growing up in the Knight's Academy, and during his adventure, survival was more about foraging than anything else. Even during his travels with the group, he's the one most often picking berries off of bushes as they walk along for a little fast food fix. If he did try to cook for Time, I'm sure he'd enlist Wild's help in making something special. Knowing how Time enjoys fishing, I'd bet Sky would try to make a fish pie. Wild would walk him through layering the dough to make it look like a fish and although Sky does have some artistic skill, it's still going to look endearingly lop-sided.
Sky keeps an eye out for honey sticks when he's perusing market stalls, knowing they're a favorite of Time's. Sky's also always on the hunt for more comfortable lightweight bedding for Time. That man sleeps with the equivalent of a rough horse blanket on the road, no wonder he's sore all the damn time.
In addition to keeping an eye out for sweets for Sky, Time is also secretly on the hunt for a special piece of jewelry for his mate.
Sky always has some level of trepidation about thunderstorms, similar to Legend, but when he's very stressed or not in a good headspace is when they really push him over the edge. Anytime a storm is brewing Time is keeping closer tabs on Sky, and he's usually the first to recommend seeking shelter at the hint of electrical activity. Closer, louder strikes will make Sky whimper without fail. Now that Sky is more apt to seek comfort in such cases you'll usually find him in Time's lap during a storm, wrapped firmly in his arms and tucked under his chin until the worst of it passes.
Time knows that Sky can hold his own in a firefight and while he keeps mental tabs on him, the safest thing to do in such a situation is give Sky space to work. He takes Sky's morning grumpies in stride and lets whoever woke him incur the wrath they deserve. But where Time is more defensive of Sky is when they're in situations where Sky is blatantly uncomfortable, such as being in the company of large numbers of unknown alphas. The two of them are never clingy in public, by any means, but in certain company Time gives off all of the subtle posturing signals to warn other alphas to give them space: the hand on Sky's lower back as they're walking, the direct eye contact with anyone who takes notice of Sky in any way, the close proximity at all times. Certainly having the other sharp alphas in the group looking out for Sky also has the intended effect on anyone who strays too close.
There was that whumptober piece that showed how Time deals with the worst of Sky's nightmare episodes: being patient with him, not invalidating Sky's feelings, working with him to make him more comfortable and help him out of it. Time's bad nights are few and far between, and he's more likely to bolt up in bed gasping than actually vocalizing or devolving into a major panic attack. Heavy sleeper though he is, Sky will be right there with him while Time's coming out of it, and Time will typically hug Sky--a little too hard, perhaps--until he has his wits about him again and he can let go.

Me to the group chat: Do you want a directors cut for Hero of Hyrule?
Chat: YES
So uh, okay, here you go.
Note this contains excerpts from the original fic which is horror I guess? It gets dark, it gets gory. You have been warned.
That being said I'm really pleased with how it turned out and so give it a look if you enjoy hurting the dowfall boys.
So this starts later than Hyrule’s, with Legend running into the room. He’s magic sensitive but in a different way to Hyrule. With Hyrule the off feeling is internal, with Legend he can sense it in the surroundings.
It’s familiar but only in an instinctual way until later when it clicks.
The pace is frantic, basically the whole fic. Sentences are short and choppy or have lots of commas when they’re longer.
Legend stumbles over raised stone, tripping and recovering and going faster. Searching for a cell, or a seal, or some power hungry villain, and Hyrule, Hyrule. Something is wrong. He hits stone again, taller this time, running straight into it. A block of some kind rather than a wall, and he scrambles to reach on top of it.
Hyrule, Hyrule is a recurring mantra, as is something being wrong as he can’t articulate what it is yet.
Skip had a comment while betaing about linking back to previous experience and expectations, there’s some of that in a few places. Also the altar is tall and I had to recalibrate what I saw in my head a couple of times lol.
Hyrule! Hyrule! He’s alive. See, see? He could survive that. He must have healed or it wasn’t so bad or there was a fairy or—
[]
“I think I’m dead,” Hyrule voices Legend’s worst fear.
Except he’s not! Clearly he’s not! He’s just confused or in shock because he’s here and talking and, “Wh—no. No. Hyrule, I’m holding your hand, you’re alive, stay with me, okay?”
He knows deep down he shouldn’t be alive and instead of celebrating that he is, he’s trying to justify it to himself.
“But the blood,” the boy whispers back, and Legend can’t see it but he can smell it, sweat and fear and the metallic reek of warm blood and carved flesh, like a butchered animal.
This is just me making it worse lol. Also the hunted animal motif with the downfall boys.
“What wakes?”
“I’m sorry,” the boy pulls away.
He cannot bear it.
I low-key love that little bit.
“Sorry for what?” his hands search desperately, trying to find Hyrule again, to know this isn’t some terrifying dream.
Dream motifs for Legend~
“You know it,” Hyrule says, so gently, so kindly, and a hand in the dark cups Legend’s cheek, sticky with blood, “You know it, don’t you? You saw that wound. Nothing could survive that.”
“You’re not a thing,” Legend objects to the wrong thing, but it’s the only thing he trusts to be true. Is this real? If he plays the song will he wake up? What has been lost? The dark magic lies over them, smothering, sickening. Hyrule cannot be dead, Hyrule could not have survived.
[]
He is a nightmare.
Dreams again. Because he knows there was something untrue about Hyrule surviving from the start.
The grip on Legend’s face tightens, digging in nails behind his jaw and he’s dragged forward against the altar as Hyrule jerks back.
Me with my hand on my jaw figuring out how tightly you could hold someone like that.
“No, No, you’re not dead, I’m touching you, you have a pulse—” he murmurs, blinking away tears as he shifts his fingers on Hyrule’s wrist to feel it better. He’s alive, he’s alive. There was, there was a fairy or something and he survived and—
Still frantic
And then just after this he gets his confirmation Hyrule had indeed died.
There’s tear tracks down his cheeks, outlining the contours of his bloody face with that death pale skin beneath.
I added tear tracks because I am mean. They weren’t in the original, but Hyrule couldn’t see them on himself.
Legend gives a choked whimper of loss, of despair. He died… he died afraid and alone. Legend failed the most important task he’s ever been given.
They ripped him open to die in the dark, they ripped him open and still his heart beats. They are gone, some fled, some dead by their swords, and a true Curse remains.
It—this not-Hyrule—looks pleased, puffing itself up at his horror.
So, this is all Legend POV, and you can tell who/what he thinks is in Hyrule by the pronoun he uses. ‘It’ is when he doesn’t know, ‘he’ for Hyrule, and ‘He’ (proper noun) for Ganon.
Also Skip, ‘where are they’? lol, so there’s a throwaway line saying they ran off.
So we’ve come from frantic to gutted.
“I—” Legend knows he’s right, he saved Warriors in the moment, an instinct to prevent the immediate death. Had they known, Wars would have chosen Hyrule, had he known… His eyes flick back to those twin tear stains, and some selfish, shameful little corner of his mind whispers he would have too.
He did not, and Hyrule is dead, and the world will never be right again. He will carry him forever with his other mistakes and failures and ghosts.
Nyastri while betaing ‘More guilt?’ Me ‘Okay, bet’
Also, contrast between the Wars part, Legend shoots straight to guilt and despair and ‘it’s happened again’
It looks at him with some fondly cruel expression, its grip still unyielding. A Monster. Dead eyes watch his as it keeps his chin up and reaches back inside Hyrule’s chest to the shattered bone and viscera and twitching organs within.
No, no, no, no—
He sobs in horror and it hushes him like a child, reaching forward to smear the gore over his face like a twisted, doting comfort, tracing his tears.
He’s shaking so badly.
“Smell it.”
Legend just sobs again and tries to twist out of that grip, to pull away, but the corpse’s grip is too strong, too tight. The pin pricks of his nails and the smear of flesh burn with that corrupt, rotting magic, he breathes it into his blood and flesh and bones, into his mind and soul. It will not let him go. He feels like that little rabbit boy again, with an adult’s too rough grip on him, walking him to his death. It watches him like a predator.
There’s a whole bunch of throwbacks to Legend’s early quests. Also dark magic being semi toxic/corruptive and what starts just as smothering in the atmosphere is not seeping into him. Also, also we are Keepin’ It Weird between the downfall boys.
Warriors takes a step closer to them, bringing up his sword ready to plunge it into Hyrule’s chest. Legend whimpers in spite of himself.
Don’t hurt Hyrule.
So it was interesting having just the dialogue and actions and then having to figure out the thought process, and this was one of the more interesting ones. What did that little whimper mean? Was it fear, despair, was he just making a noise?
And I thought it was him not wanting to see Hyrule hurt more. Hyrule being dead hasn’t internalised yet.
“Oh, were you trying to say something?” Hyrule-not-Hyrule asks in his best ‘visiting a Princess’ voice “Go on. You can do it.”
He manages a little shake of his head, he doesn’t dare open his mouth, not with the hand pressed so tightly against it. Not with the blood, there’s so much blood, he can’t breathe without smelling it. Settling in his lungs like the guilt and loss in his gut.
The smile Hyrule gives him sets the rabbit in him to freeze in fear. He should not have drawn its attention back to him.
“Aw, don’t be shy,” a voice that sounds like his playful, teasing little brother insists and it scoops more blood from its chest and rubs it into Legend’s face.
Its smile shows bloody teeth.
I love scary, chipper Hyrule. So condescending and infantasing. Hyrule is ‘dead’, but it’s Legend it’s breaking. There’s a line in King of Hyrule here about him thinking the blood around his mouth suits him which is so delightful.
Suddenly fingers are forcing their way past his lips, gripping his jaw and wedging between his teeth. They’re cold and dead in his mouth, firmly and confidently pressing his jaws open and tongue down. He tastes the blood on its hands, the magic in it claws and coils around his own.
He’s shaking, weak and panicked and terrified, and it crams the palmful of gore into his mouth, patting its fingers over his tongue before removing the other hand and forcing his mouth shut. He’s screaming behind his teeth, gagging and choking and he has to get it out, has to get it out. It’s all he can taste, all he can smell, Hyrule’s corpse is all he can see. The magic of it tears at him as it sinks in, burning like acid, carelessly picking away at his weave of his soul. Hyrule’s magic all twisted and shattered and broken so it cuts, and another, horribly, terrifyingly familiar.
So this is probably one of, if not the, last paragraph I wrote because it’s The Worst Thing that happens to Leggy. And then Skip told me (rightly) ‘make it worse’ so I did lol. Also a little further on Skip had the comment of ‘what’s holding him there aside from just grabbing him’ and all the dark magic stuff and its effect on Legend got dialled up. Hyrule’s full on manhandling him. This is such a quick scene in both Hyrule and Wars’ POVs, but it’s actually fairly long in Legend’s, being forced to swallow that was horrific.
We’re past the guilt phase and just into kind of paralysed and breaking.
“You have to,” Hyrule’s voice says with monstrous kindness, “You don’t want me to put more in there, do you?”
The Hyrule POV is ‘says kindly’ but ya know
It clamps his nose shut and he can’t breathe, can’t look away, he gags, then forces himself to swallow obediently, something hard scrapes all the way down. The toxic rot of it settling inside of him, seeping through him from the inside out.
Yeah, this is the worst in Legend’s POV for obvious reasons. Also Legend shaking, being able to look away, and can’t stop tasting blood recurs a lot. That’s what he’s noticing.
There’s spots in his vision and distantly he hears someone call it a monster, insist it’s not Hyrule.
Legend whines a high pitched, broken sound, terrified to open his mouth again.
Every version interprets this differently. For Hyrule it’s agreement, for Wars it’s grief, for Legend he’s just making noise, it’s just kind of ‘upset’.
“You can taste it, right? You can tell?”
He can. That familiar wrongness, the part of him that isn’t tranced like a pinned rabbit screams in the back of his mind.
This is when Legend places consciously who it is.
Hyrule, oh Hyrule.
We’re back to that. It’s all about Hyrule.
“He was being overly simplistic. It wasn’t a curse. It was a soul. But it’s gone now. It has woken.”
Legend jerks in its grip and it laughs at him, Hyrule’s joyful chime all twisted and stuttering.
This is when Legend actually starts to react the the knowledge and unfreeze.
“Yes, brave one,” it, He, croons at him, His grip unyielding “that’s what the ashes were for. Except I didn’t have enough of a body yet to really inhabit, so I borrowed this one. Oh, he bled so nicely for me. It was beautiful.”
Panic now, panic because he knows, he knows this magic, he knows those intonations spoken with Hyrule’s tongue.
He’s here, He’s here and He killed Hyrule, and He has him.
Ganon.
First instance of ‘He’ for Ganon. And an old, old nightmare manifesting.
“Didn’t even have to tie him down,” He says gleefully. “He only woke up once during the whole thing, and I guess he figured you’d left him for dead, because he just laid back down. Placid as a lamb, that one, in the end,” the corpse’s thumb strokes his cheek, “So easy, when he realised he couldn’t do anything to stop what had already been started…”
Rulie. Rulie. Was he scared? Did he die this afraid? He should have been there, he should have saved him, how could he let him die alone? He was supposed to be his big brother. They tore him open and let a monster crawl into his corpse.
Wars POV, he went to anger and ‘Hyrule wouldn’t take it lying down’ etc. Legend is just despair and guilt.
‘Tore him open’ recurs in a couple of different ways. This is my favourite.
Legend thrashes, tears at Hyrule’s (he’s dead, but they’re his, they’re his) wrists with his nails. Ganon will kill them all, he’ll lose them all. This is what he’s for, what he’s always been for. He’s supposed to fight Him. He can’t do it, he needs to get away.
So, when I write Legend I tend to have him believe he is necessary, he doesn’t have to like it but his reason for being, the only reason he was born at all, is because the hero was needed for Hyrule. Ganon is here? This is your purpose, get to the killing, Hero boy. He doesn’t consider the others for a moment. But he is so afraid and broken right now.
Also the stealing/violation of Ganon using Hyrule’s body
Abruptly He lets him go, that unyielding grip from his face and jaw vanishing in an instant as Ganon leaps from the altar and lands with a sickening crunch of bone. Legend drops like his strings have been cut and retches up blood and bile and everything else in his stomach. Then again, and again. He curls up on himself, shaking, he’s going to shake himself apart. His stomach twists and he gags again, he can still smell the blood, he can still taste the blood. He will never be free of it.
Finally gets to spew! Yay! More shaking.
He has to get up. His streaming eyes crack open.
The others are yelling, scared and desperate. The others!
lol, remember them? Legend doesn’t notice anything that’s not right in front of him for this whole thing. There’s a line where Wars tells Ganon to kill Legend, and Legend doesn’t notice it at all. He misses most of that conversation while throwing up.
Legend uncurls and staggers up on to his knees, spitting out blood and bile and gore, gagging and retching again, only to realise those dead eyes are back on him and He looks so pleased.
Legend freezes, a rabbit caught in a spotlight. He’s coming for him again, bearing those bloodstained teeth in delight.
Okay, dick move by Wars siccing him back on Legend though. I mean, it worked, but still!
It’s hurting him, it’s hurting Hyrule (Hyrule’s dead), it has to stop, he can’t let it keep hurting him. Defiling his corpse. Stop smiling at him like Rule. Stop laughing like that boy when he’s all torn to pieces.
The blade presses into his neck.
He has to, he has to—
Continuing on this being Legend’s purpose, and struggling to internalise Hyrule being dead. He hasn’t had time to process anything at all. Also, you’ve got one of the emotional turning points on this line.
It strokes his cheek and Hyrule’s face looks at him with such fondness. With that same otherworldly adoration and possessiveness he only catches glimpses of in rare moments when magic is thick in the air and the day is dying.
Everything Legend has ever loved, has loved him so much in return.
I maintain this, for better or worse, beings, especially powerful non-human ones, adore Legend.
The corpse’s hand cradles Legend’s cheek, just like Hyrule did on the worst nights, like he did after the worst hurts. Something in him breaks. In spite of himself he leans into it, it feels familiar. He doesn’t care. He misses Hyrule, he wants him back so badly.
Something kinda breaks. He’s not thinking about it, he just wants comfort and what does it matter if it’s false?
“See?” Warriors asks, and Legend closes his eyes as Hyrule snarls. A stupid, foolish thing, but just for a moment he can pretend, he can feel it’s his brother beside him still.
“I don’t think he’s really dead. You’re not acting like… you’re evil, sure, but Ganon has always been more concerned with taking over the world than with… destroying us personally,” Wars argues. White noise.
“I’m not—”
Hyrule, Hyrule, oh Hyrule…
Hyrule, Hyrule again, and he starts to believe he might actually be in there and it’s not just make believe.
“Or not destroying us,” Warriors says, “Look at the way you’re holding him.”
The fingers twitch against his cheek, he’s pulled a little closer.
“I don’t— I SHOULD KILL YOU.”
“But you won’t,” Legend rasps, opening his eyes.
Hyrule loves him.
Hyrule wouldn’t hurt him.
Hyrule would never let Ganon have him.
We’ll see how he feels after King part 3 but it’s what Legend believes in the moment.
“YOU CAN’T,” Hyrule roars, “HE IS MINE.”
Hyrule POV: ‘Hyrule’s body’ says this Legend POV: ‘Hyrule’ says it Warriors POV: ‘Ganon’ says it Contrast between their thoughts on it.
“There you are,” his Hyrule. That beautiful, bright, fae-kissed boy. He rests his hand on the one cupping his cheek.
Gotta keep it a little weird between the downfall boys. He’s pulling himself back together. Also I write out of order, so part of the editing was making sure the emotional progression was coherent lol.
He knows what he has to do, the very purpose for which he was born into this world.
Again, Legend and the point of his existence, saving Hyrule, killing Ganon.
He forces himself to his feet, tangling his fingers with Hyrule’s, head and jaw still aching from the creature’s hold, throat burning and stomach roiling. He can still feel the fingers on his tongue, the flesh caught in his teeth. He lifts his bloody, gore and tear stained face and raises his chin to the monster who hurt his Hyrule.
He will kill it as many times as it takes.
Welcome back to the fucking hero of Legend.
He doesn’t need to say the words, he never needed to say the words, the Triforce burns into your soul, picks it apart and unravels it to reflect what it finds there.
There's a bit of ‘they’re not so different’ contract between the overwhelming negative feeling dark magic before and the overwhelming Triforce now. It could absolutely destroy him, but Legend just surrenders to it. It’s familiar.
he wishes Hyrule would see, and those dead eyes turn to him.
Triforce grants this little desire too
Light overtakes him.
Hyrule’s outro fades to darkness, Legend’s fades to light.
Then everything fades.
The last line is the same in both.
Woo, that’s a lot of words. Hope you enjoy, this was a fun fic to write. I don’t usually go all out on the visceral-ness of it, but I had a blast. Thanks again @rebornofstars and @nyastri
