Welcome Back
Golden returns to Galar to visit Kabu. This is her second time ever in Galar, and she and Kabu have been dating long distance for several months now. Some softness and fluff on their first day back together after many months apart.
Content warning: food. Word count: 3186
Finally, finally Golden was done with Customs. She was thoroughly exhausted from the long flight (which she hadn't been able to sleep on, because she never slept on a plane, unfortunately). Her backpack was starting to feel like a lead weight. And her suitcase felt like more of a pain that it ever had before. And she was tired of stale, cold airport air.
But at the end of all of this, Kabu would be there to greet her. That thought alone kept her going, even as the line for Customs had moved interminably slow and she felt her eyelids beginning to droop.
She passed through the last security checkpoint and the crowd began to disperse. Golden looked eagerly for Kabu, feeling her heart rate beginning to increase as she searched for him. She stood on tiptoes, looking around for him, finally feeling awake again at the prospect of seeing him. But where...?
"Hey." Kabu's voice from behind her made her spin around, a huge smile on her face. She must have walked past him, she thought for a moment, before she lost all of her train of thought as she met his gaze.
"Kabu!" Golden yelled, letting go of her suitcase to practically tackle Kabu with a hug. He laughed, hugging her back as best he could with her backpack still on. She pressed herself to him, unwilling to let go, face buried in his neck.
"It's good to see you, Golden." Kabu said, stroking her hair with one hand. "I missed you."
"I missed you, too." Golden replied, squeezing him tighter in response. Finally, she pulled back, still unable to stop smiling. Even Kabu, who tended to keep a stoic face, had a wide smile he couldn't hide. She was thrilled she could bring such a beautiful smile to his wonderful face. Fuck, she'd missed him so much.
They stood there a moment, staring into each others' eyes. Her gaze wandered to his lips, and suddenly the airport seemed to fade away. Should she...kiss him? She wanted to kiss him. But they had never...she swallowed, finally looking away, putting a hand on her suitcase, blushing.
She didn't realize it, but Kabu had been having similar thoughts. How badly he wanted to kiss her, after not seeing her for months. But he restrained himself. He didn't want to push her boundaries, didn't want to pressure her into anything. Despite his desire, he held back.
"Let me get that. You must be exhausted." Kabu said, putting his hand on top of Golden's on her suitcase handle.
"Oh, thank you...I am exhausted." Golden admitted, stretching her arms over her head for a moment.
"Your backpack too." He held out his other hand expectantly. She handed it over, thanking him again as he waved her off. With the backpack on, Kabu offered Golden his arm. With a giggle, she took his arm, blushing faintly. "It's just a 30 minute train ride back into Motostoke, and a short walk, and then you can rest."
"It's a much nicer trip with you here." Golden admitted, leaning her head on his shoulder for a brief moment. Her stomach growled suddenly.
"Oh, should we grab something before we get on the train?" Kabu asked with a serious expression.
"N-no, that's fine! I'd rather get back to Motostoke first." Golden protested.
"If you're sure." Kabu added. "I have some leftovers at home, if you don't mind day old champon."
"I don't think I've ever had your cooking before." Golden admitted, smiling slyly.
"I admit, I wouldn't have chosen to introduce it to you as leftovers." Kabu replied wryly. "I hope you find it to your taste despite this."
"I have no doubt!"
-------------------------------------------------------------
At first, Golden was talking animatedly with Kabu as they rode the train. But slowly, she became quieter, clearly fatigued from her travels. Her head was nodding a bit, brushing against Kabu's shoulder with the motion of the train.
"You should just rest." Kabu said softly, wrapping his arm around her shoulders as she trailed off in the middle of yet another sentence.
"But...I haven't seen you in...in like more than 6 months..." Golden objected, despite laying her head on his shoulder more decisively, snuggling up against him.
"There's time." He squeezed her shoulder reassuringly.
"I...suppose..." Golden's eyes closed, and it wasn't much longer before she drifted to sleep. Kabu couldn't help but stare at her, noticing all the details he hadn't fully appreciated. Her long lashes curving over her cheeks, the way her hair fell in messy waves over her shoulders, the pink on her round cheeks, her small hands folded in her lap. She was beautiful in so many ways. Seeing her in person made it all the more obvious to him how absolutely smitten he was with her.
And how badly he had missed her.
He was content to enjoy this moment as the train raced along the sunset into Motostoke.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Golden marveled as they entered Kabu's home. It was on the top floor of one of the taller buildings, and it took up the entire floor. No neighbors for Kabu. The first thing she noticed was how minimalist it was. The walls and floor were predominantly whites and shades of blue-grey. There was a white brick fireplace with a television on the wall above it, and some furniture in dark, natural wood shades. It looked well taken care of, but old, and the style didn't seem to fit Galar. Perhaps it was brought over from Hoenn. There was a grey blue couch and loveseat in front of the fireplace, a patterned red rug on the floor in front of them. There were just a few things hanging on the walls. A large, Hoenn style fan, and some photos of Kabu and his Poke'mon, as well as what she assumed was his family back in Hoenn.
Most striking was that one of the walls was almost entirely a glass window. Even having only just entered the room, she could see that the view would be gorgeous. The last rays of the sun were shining through it, bathing the room in soft yellow light.
The kitchen and the living room seemed to share an open space, the carpet giving way to tile. The kitchen was sleek and modern, a contrast to the wooden end tables and other furniture that decorated the living room. An island counter aided in defining when the space changed from living room to kitchen. Golden also noticed 3 doors that led to other rooms, but she didn't have a chance to see where they went before Kabu drew her attention.
"I wasn't sure what you'd prefer," He started, looking away from her gaze for a moment, brushing a hand through his hair. "So I made up the guest bed. But you can also sleep in my room, with me, of course." His cheeks flushed. "No pressure, it's up to you."
Golden felt herself blush in response to the question. "Your room." She mumbled. Despite this exciting development and the awkwardness, she was still overwhelmed by her exhaustion, unable to spare the energy to be properly flustered.
Kabu nodded. "Great. In that case, why don't you unpack a little and get changed into your pajamas while I heat up the champon? You look like you might keel over at any moment." He teased.
"I'm...I'm totally awake." Golden grumbled, forcing her eyes fully open to pout at him. He was right, of course. But it was still so early, and she didn't want to waste any of the precious time she had with him.
He ruffled her hair with his hand, laughing a little. "Of course you are." He motioned for her to follow him, pushing open one of the doors. "This is my bedroom. You're welcome to unpack wherever, though I imagine you'll leave most of the unpacking for tomorrow, at this rate." He squeezed her shoulder gently. "I'll go work on that champon, you come out when you're ready."
Golden nodded her assent, and Kabu left, heading for the kitchen and closing the door behind him. She took a moment, looking around the room. A king sized bed, from the looks of things, a door that she assumed led to a bathroom, what looked like a closet door, a large black dresser...
Right, she could take a closer look later. For now...what the hell was she gonna change into...usually, she just slept in her panties. Just the thought of that turned her face crimson. Right, yeah, she'd packed some short shorts and some oversized t-shirts. After some digging around in her suitcase, she changed.
...of course, even this was making Golden's face warm. Sure, she'd dressed like this while they'd video chatted on numerous occasions, but in person...it felt immensely more intimate. She pressed her hands over her face, feeling the heat on her cheeks. Alright, deep breaths...and no doubt Kabu would find this look very cute, too...
She peeked out of the bedroom, pushing the door open tentatively, Her other hand reflexively rubbed at her eyes. She really was exhausted. Would she even make it through dinner?
"Oh, just in time!" Kabu called from the kitchen at the sound of the door opening. Centiskorch skittered up to her happily, while she could see Ninetales staring at her from the edge of the kitchen. Arcanine was absent, which surprised her. She pet the bug happily, cooing to it, noticing that Kabu hadn't yet turned around. With Centiskorch following at her side, she wandered shyly over to the dining table that was adjacent to the kitchen, holding the bottom of her shirt with both hands.
Having finished ladling out champon into two bowls, he grabbed them both and turned to walk to the table. For a moment Golden thought he was going to drop them as he noticed her. He cleared his throat awkwardly, cheeks as red as hers were, before carefully walking to the table and setting the bowls down.
"Um, please, have a seat." Kabu mumbled, as he did so himself. Golden sat across from him, shyly staring down into her bowl.
She picked up her spoon tentatively. It wasn't that she was worried about how she'd like the food or anything remotely like that. It was just that she felt so damn shy, which was really not helped by the fact that she could still feel Kabu's eyes on her. Surely he was wondering why she wasn't eating.
That wouldn't last long. Shy or not, she was hungry. Really hungry. And this smelled amazing. She started with the broth, sipping at the hot liquid. Her eyes lit up immediately.
"This is fantastic." Golden grabbed her chopsticks immediately, feeling herself salivating from the small taste she'd had. "You made this?!" She met his gaze, shyness gone at having tasted his delicious cooking.
Kabu laughed gently. "Yes, I did. I'm often making large batches of it. It's hearty, and easy for me to make."
"It's amazing." And just like that, Golden felt awake again, shoveling food into her face with enthusiasm.
"I'm glad you think so." Kabu replied with another laugh. He watched her eat for a moment, barely touching his own food. "I..." Kabu cleared his throat again. "I've seen you wear more or less that exact outfit, on video chat, so many times...but seeing you like that in person nearly gave me a heart attack." He admitted, blushing a bit.
Golden looked up in surprise at his words, a few noodles hanging out of her mouth. Blushing, she quickly slurped them up.
"I-in a good way or...no, heart attacks aren't good-" Golden found her travel-exhausted brain was ill equipped to handle his compliment at the moment.
"In a good way, Golden. You're very cute..." Kabu murmured, before finally picking up his own chopsticks and putting food in his mouth so he could avoid saying more.
"O-oh!" Golden blushed again. "Thank you..." She mumbled back, also opting to take the route of putting a large piece of meat in her mouth to avoid speaking. It was quiet for a bit, aside from their sounds of eating. As her stomach filled up, Golden found she was growing sleepy again. This time, it felt far heavier than it had earlier. She jolted upright, narrowly avoiding dunking her face into her bowl.
"I think it's time you got to sleep." Kabu observed, smiling almost smugly.
"You're clearly, right, but..." She pouted, leaving her eyes closed. "I don't wanna. I wanna spend time with you..."
Kabu got to his feet, picking up both of their bowls, which were more or less empty. "How about a compromise." He suggested, as he walked back to the kitchen to rinse them off.
Golden cracked an eye open and looked at him with a brow raised. "Yes?"
"I will get changed and get in bed with you. That way, you can spend time with me until the moment you fall asleep. Deal?" He slid the dishes into the dishwasher, closing it before turning to look at her, expression looking altogether too serious for such a light negotiation.
"Mm...I accept." Golden decided after pretending to debate the issue. That brought a smile to Kabu's face.
"Very good." Coming to stand next to her again, he offered his arm as he had at the airport. She took his arm, getting to her feet with a loud yawn.
"Don't say anything." She mumbled, sticking her tongue out at him.
He raised his brows, but walked her over to his room nonetheless. Once there, he pulled back the covers on his bed, revealing a neatly folded set of red flannel pajamas, which he picked up.
"I'll be right back. Don't fall asleep while I'm gone." Kabu teased, enjoying the way she flushed and stammered at the remark.
"Hurry up then, geez!" She crossed her arms as he disappeared into the bathroom to change.
Before long, Golden found herself in bed snuggled up against Kabu. She had insisted on leaving the light on (she knew she'd pass out immediately if left in the dark for more than 5 seconds). Kabu was sitting up with his back against the headboard, and Golden was resting her head on his chest, her arm draped across him. Kabu's arm was wrapped around her shoulder. She was comfortable, despite how shy she felt. There hadn't been much time to be physically affectionate before she'd left. It had all felt so fast. But now, she was here, listening to his heartbeat in his chest...
Well, not for much longer. She could no longer keep her eyes open, and she was only barely aware of Kabu's thumb rubbing gently against her shoulder. But it was a losing battle. Despite the early hour in Galar, a mere 7 pm, she fell into a deep sleep not long after getting into bed.
Kabu smiled down at her as she finally gave in to sleep, her breathing shifting. He hesitated a moment, before pressing a loving kiss to the top of her head. He would be more than content to lie here reading a book with her nestled against him until he too fell to sleep's sweet embrace.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Golden woke up at an ungodly hour. The room was still dark. Kabu was snoring quietly. She tried to go back to sleep - but it was impossible. That was jetlag for you. She checked her watch, squinting as it's digital screen lit up her face. 4 am. Wow. Amazing. Well, she certainly didn't want to wake Kabu...
She looked around the room as her eyes adjusted. Centiskorch was easily visible on Kabu's other side. While it's flames were much reduced as it slept, they still glowed a faint yellow orange. It was curled up against Kabu's back.
Golden turned her attention to Ninetales, who slept at the foot of the bed. She was startled to see that Ninetales was staring at her. It wasn't an unfriendly stare, but it wasn't exactly friendly either. The Poke'mon was clearly appraising her, with a hint of curiosity in it's eyes. She imagined she had been too tired yesterday to notice this behavior. Ninetales had always appeared standoffish to her, since the moment she'd met Kabu, but it had never seemed to pay her much attention. Perhaps things were different now that she and Kabu were...closer. Now that she was here, invading the cherished space Kabu shared with his beloved teammates. Surely it would be an adjustment for them.
It was an adjustment for her. They were sharing a bed, yet they hadn't even kissed! But there was no way she would have stayed in a guest bedroom...not when they had just precious little time together. She'd been too tired the night before to do much other than be honest about the fact that she wanted to be in his bed with him, when he presented the choice. She may have blushed, but she hadn't had the energy to be flustered. Now she could feel her cheeks burning as she watched his peaceful expression as he slept, his chest rising and falling.
She wondered absent-mindedly how often Kabu brought people back here. Who was the last partner he'd had? Had Ninetales behaved the same way back then? Was she one in a long line of partners? Was it something Ninetales had been through before?
Golden sighed quietly to herself. There was little point in thinking about this. But Ninetales seemed...uncertain, to her. That made it likely that it wasn't a regular occurrence, at least. Slowly, careful not to disturb Kabu, she got out of bed. She could feel Ninetales' eyes following her as she made her way out of the bedroom, leaving the door cracked as she left.
She breathed out a sigh of relief. It was nice to not feel the fox staring her down anymore. That was definitely judgement in Ninetales' gaze. Well, perhaps she'd make a nice cup of tea for herself. If she could find the tea. And the mugs. She didn't think Kabu would mind if she did that. If he did mind, she'd just have to apologize and find a way to make up for it. But, somehow she figured he'd be more bothered that he wasn't awake to make it for her...
With a mug in hand (it had a cute chibified Torchic on it), she waited for water to boil. When did Kabu normally wake up? She furrowed her brow, doing the mental math. By the time he was online he'd already done his morning workout, so that would be...she squeezed her eyes shut. 6 am. Alright. She looked at her watch. It was 4:30 am now. Okay. He'd be up in an hour and a half. That was reasonable.
She poured herself some tea and sat down on the couch. Well, she was sure there was some catching up she could do while she waited. She'd been traveling all day yesterday, after all. Hopefully Kabu wouldn't be too bothered that she'd gotten up without him...

Arplis - News: Working on the garage mudroom makeover with Clayton Homes was such a huge inspiring moment for me
I wanted to chat with you about some behind the scenes on this project and also share the sources and give you some perspective on what it took to make this special project happen. First – I thought it would be fun to answer some questions that my friends and family had for me…..natural questions that I think show how this job works. Why was this project so inspiring for you Katie? I don’t really know if I can identify WHY…..except for maybe because it was a whirlwind timeline that I can’t expect to repeat anytime soon…so it felt very special. The fact that we drove to Tennessee with a trailer full of paint brushes, pillows and tools, slept in a hotel for three hours, showed up for the makeover at 7am and worked till 6pm (barely taking a break to shove a hoagie in our mouth)….and completed a big makeover…..well it just felt so hurried that I barely got to analyze whether or not I was screwing up. The fact is – I think about that a lot. I think about that with my own home….knowing that repainting a room isn’t impossible…but for whatever reason…it has become a huge source of anxiety and hesitation for me. I will be paralyzed because of fear. Fear of screwing up. Fear of wasting time, money and effort. Fear of sharing failures with the world. I’ve been doing this job for a long time and it never gets easier to hear the critics….especially when I feel like I accidentally fell into this work. I’m so honored to do it. Every.Single.Time. But imposter syndrome is real and I know that there are a million people can do this job better. The joy I get out of it though is so exciting and sometimes balancing the joy and fear is really hard. I know that fear is a major source of delay in my own house and since this project didn’t allow for hesitation, it forced me to trust my gut, move forward and not look back (or sideways or up or down or any other direction). There were no options and when that happens….well…it frees you. At least it did for me. Okay. I know I got a little deep there. Excuse me while I come back to the shallow end. More questions – Why did you choose a garage? Isn’t that meant for tools and yard stuff? Sure! It can be. I view a garage as an undedicated zone. Ever since we turned our 3 car garage into a work out area, a workshop and a sliver of space to park my jeep, I guess I don’t view it the same. I’ve seen so many great designers and home owners turn their garage into everything from man-dens to spin studios to craft rooms to the ultimate party spot….I guess I was inspired by the inside of the Clayton home to make the garage just as beautiful. Also – as I shared before – this is an entirely new class of home – it’s built off site. And I can imagine a lot of people would purchase this as their primary residence but then there is also another group of people that would buy this as a vacation home, a second lake house or a move-in-ready home once they become empty nesters. With the minimalist movement, the housing industry is seeing more and more people organizing and keeping less stuff. That movement will inevitably affect the garage (aka – the place where we keep all the old stuff). I wanted to take that area and make it into something beautiful that felt like the inside was pulled out – but also shared another idea of using this space. What were the parameters of this project? Well, the parameters of this project were a little different than if you were doing this in your own home. This particular home is going to be on the market so we had to work around some specific requests. Since this was a ‘inspirational’ tutorial (meaning the whole point was to inspire you to make a space more beautiful and share practical, easy and affordable ways to improve your own home) some of the things I had to consider were – anything I add to the wall had to be finished (I couldn’t NOT caulk it and make it 100% complete) and also some things had to be removable or easily changed. The wallpaper had to be removable, we weren’t supposed to change the floor, no electrical items were allowed to be added or changed, the pieces couldn’t be ‘built in’. And it also had to leave enough room at the end and the sides for parking cars. What was the end goal? Once I learned of the parameters, I pitched the idea of making the garage more beautiful – and also brainstormed ways to make it be functional. I imagined my in-laws in this house. I saw them standing outside the garage door greeting my kiddos into this home. I visualized the kids needing a spot to drop their shoes and a place where Gramps & Grammy would need a basket for sunscreen and a dog leash. I wanted to add extra storage bins below the bench so that it would still allow for organization. I wanted hooks on the wall because I knew that it would provide a perfect spot for coats, grocery bags and library totes. Combining the practical, the beautiful and the parameters lead us to a place where we decided paint was our best friend and we could add lots of ‘furnishings’ that could easily be moved. Also – everything had to be able to be done in one day! I think it honestly turned out great and I am so proud to put my name on it! Sources? So excited to share these sources with you! Click on any of the photos below to go directly to the item! Turn on your JavaScript to view content You may notice that some items are sold out or out of stock. Sorry about the delay on posting these items but I had to wait. Also the prints above the hook wall….those were painted by me with a bit of black paint on white paper. I loved how they turned out! Paint Color? We primed everything with Kilz Primer. The dark green wall color is Dark Forest Pine by Glidden and we used Behr Marquee paint for the walls. The wallpaper was intended to look like shiplap (great alternative for the look with zero power tools required!) and it is completely removable. Biggest hurdle of this project? Time. We simply ran out of time. We didn’t know that the ceiling would be unprimed when we arrived. None of us thought to even talk about it! I appreciate that the Clayton team asked us so many questions and let us decide so much of the project – they really entrusted us to deliver! Since they were allowing us to take the reigns, we just didn’t even think to ask if the ceiling was finished and that little detail cost us some time in the end. We had to paint it with two coats of primer to get it done and that was about 1 hour of delay. Most nerve-wreaking moment? Well it was probably just in our heads but here we go. We had brought a truck and set up our miter saw on the tailgate. Across the street was an entire crew of builders putting up an entire new house. During their lunch break, Jeremy and I had to cut several pieces of wood…. and we joked that we had a pro audience watching. Neither one of us have triple checked our measurements as many times as that day because we didn’t want to do the walk of shame if the cut wasn’t right! The pressure was ON. Favorite part of the makeover? It has to be that green paint with the wallpaper. That combo looked so so nice together. It was dark enough to hide dirt and scuff marks and still looked so fresh. I think too taking the paint from the floor all the way through the door and the recessed area around the door – it made a huge impact. It looked so good and made a huge difference. I also think that the wallpaper added so much interest in an otherwise ‘dead’ area. It was so flat and texture-less with the white above the green paint and then once we added the wallpaper – it all came alive! In the end – I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – it was just a thrill to tackle this in someone elses home – and I LOVED getting to do some styling that really was a good representation of my own personal style. That was so refreshing! I hope that you guys all got something out of this garage makeover and I hope that you also feel inspired (despite any fear!) to get out into your house and make it beautiful! Check out these collection of bathroom ideas by Italian company Cerasa. With in-floor bathtubs and deluxe furniture the circumstances they carry about is akin to those gotten in spas. Clearly most of the ideas do need many room and we expect any of these would get room in a special apartment setting. Delpha brings a collection of ultra stylish bathroom interiors for you. The designs are inspired by nature, pop culture, baroque and urban interiors.
Each bath area runs on a central theme where the fixtures and accessories are thoughtfully arranged. Most of the designs sport brightly coloured walls with rich use of textures. Some walls have mosaic tiles which are like jewels studded in a luxurious haven of purity. Going by the images, it looks as though this Delpha collection is targeting the luxury end of the market meant for people willing to pay the extra dollar.

I have a huge style crush on Hans Blomquist, stylist, art director, and author.Whether he’s being moody or lighthearted, masculine or feminine, I get him. Right down to the soles of my feet. I discovered him slowly, as I found myself drawn to images from various sources, all connected by one name – his. Infatuation. Then I ordered his book, The Natural Home, and…love. Admittedly, his book will not be for everyone. If it’s color and contemporary design that move you, his is not the book for you. But if you love the moody, patinaed, textured, quirky and eclectic, with a distinctly European style, this book is most definitely for you. What can I say? He’s everything I hope for in a stylist. Personalize your little ones play and sleeping areas with their favorite theme, without the need for time consuming painting or costly wallpaper. In a shared room situation, emblazoning your children’s names above, or on, toy chests and beds provides individuality, and establishing clear zones may help to avoid sibling squabbles. Using stickers to add color and fun to key pieces of furniture could even make an old wardrobe, or plain crafting table, into a child friendly piece. Fill a plain wall with a special nursery rhyme, or highlight a cherished item with a sweet spray of flowers.
Get creative by allowing sticky characters to interact with elements of the room, make a headboard into a perch under a line of cute birds, or balance creatures above door fames, skirting boards and light switches. Try making your own artwork by applying them to card stock and framing, and let matching elements loose on the surrounding wall for a ‘picture come to life’ effect. Wipe clean stickers that emulate note pads are perfect for a teen’s room, they can jot down homework notes, or doodle love notes, and simply wipe clean for next week!
Designing a child’s bedroom can be very challenging considering the fast pace in which kids are growing up these days. It’s hard enough keeping up with endless influx of technological gadgets before finding ways to store all of these “next best things”. But alas, there are fun innovative storage solutions disguised by splashes of color that would make any room look like a three dimensional Picasso! In these beautifully designed rooms below, the perfect balance of practicality and creativity has been achieved and will easily appeals to parents and children alike.
There are many good furniture designs, a lot of different materials that compose a beautiful desk. Some of them save space in the room because a designer created a functional design that would not only deal with your problem of having too little room for a desk but also look incredible in that small space. Some of the desks are suited only for large rooms that accentuate their gorgeous shape. And then there are those desks that can transform from a small, one-man workstation to a large, conferential table. It all depends on your taste and needs.
White is a Royal color – it’s the color of purity and beauty. This amazing color combines with almost any other, with it you can create any interior – from minimalist to a vintage romantic one. A white bedroom looks relaxing, inviting and calm, it’s like sleeping on a cloud. You may use not only pure white, add some colorful accents to make the space more dramatic. Don’t hesitate to use beige – that’s a one more classical color, or dark furniture to highlight that everything is white. Vintage furniture, shabby nightstands and crocheted bedspreads will give a romantic shabby chic touch to the interior. Floor tiles, impressive futuristic furniture and modern accessories give your bedroom a minimalist look. Choose your style, fill the room according to your dreams and enjoy your white paradise!
Chocolate appears to be dripping down the walls at this cafe in Opole, Poland, by interior designers Bro.Kat. With its stunning pool and impeccable style, The Sotogrande House is fit for a celebrity. The credit for its design goes to Spanish architectural firm A-cero. The design is fresh and exciting and you can’t stop but admire how serene the whole home looks. White dominates throughout and except for this minor(?) challenge of keeping it that way we really can’t find anything else to crib about this fabulous home.
This is a gray and white apartment interior designed by Lanciano Design. This apartment has modern design with dark gray and white as the main color theme. The white color used for the walls, ceilings and some furniture, give a clean and modern expression for the interior. The dark gray color is used for floors and some other furnitures. This color give an elegant expression on this apartment. This apartment designed with great views through the big windows, allowing the occupants to enjoy the surrounding view and also let natural light to go inside the apartment. White and Gray Apartment Interior Design In India ink, acrylic, pencil and plywood Jennie Ekström creates a fantasy world of her own where children, strange birds and middle aged women reside in an overgrown fairytale garden. Jennie lives in Enskede where she is working as an Illustrator and artist. The exhibition takes place at Linnman Gallery. Don’t miss it if you’re in the neighbourhood.
I really like the decent color scheme used in this lovely apartment decorated by Mood House. There is a nice combination of old and new decor all over the place and also some very clever styling ideas. Highlight here is for sure the living room with the very cool pendant lights and variable shelving unit but also the work area is very nicely decorated with all the small details like artwork or work tools on wall. Lovely apartment decorated by Mood House
I am very excited and impressed with DaVinci project House of tayone. Delve into the detail unique designs, each decorated in industrial style chic. Look closely to find an array of ideas to add character and whimsy to a blank canvas of space.
I love the brown in these types of rooms! I think it’s like the little bit of yummy sugar in the tea. If you want to minimize brown in your home, what about using rustic woods (woods that are so worn they are almost bluish-gray) as a compromise? That would get you closer to graphite, I had a very hard time picking out just a few of the photos, but I hope you enjoy the massive picture bomb! It sure adds a lot of warmth to the interiors, and that is always nice in the colder months.
Louise Poulsen, the company making lights designed by such a great names as Arne Jacobsen or Poul Henningsen recently presented a new promo shots that were taken in a house of artist Tenka Gammelgaard. And as you can imagine, it looked great! These lamps really fits her style, and as Tenka said herself, she wouldn’t have said no to keeping them all. You can see a behind the scenes story on Tenka’s blog here. If you are in Copenhagen in the coming month, make sure to pop over to Louis Poulsen’s showroom to check out Tenka’s exhibition there, together with more photos of her home.
Today we are featuring Modern stylish kitchen design – An Excellent collection of modern Kitchen design ideas from Italian company Dada. This model is elegant without being affected, and is truly designer-oriented right down to the smallest details of everyday objects. The bedroom is one of those places that takes time to decorate. You can always improve it because you always get bedroom ideas. This time it’s Hulsta to get our inspiration from. We are immensely impressed with their bedroom concepts. Clean shapes, amazing eye-friendly colors and designed for those who need their room to be either beautiful and able to store all their stuff. Would you put something like this in your bedroom? Which one do you like the most?
Your work environment directly influences your mood and ability to generate inspiration and creativity. Creative workplaces usually have interesting and visually stimulating elements throughout the space. Featured here are 10 creative workplaces that would succeed at inspiring any designer.
This 130 square meters large apartment in Helsinki have a really nice and cozy atmosphere – almost country like. All the wood and natural materials are providing warmth in the otherwise mostly white minimalistic space. Big dining table, fireplace and stacked wood piles – what a great place!
Another example of how cool can the small place be, this little beach house belonging to Belgian/South African couple is very sweet! It certainly have the scandinavian feel – white floors, white walls, very clean and full of light, this combined with nicely selected furniture (those wooden chairs are great) creates wonderful atmosphere as made for summer relaxing.
Today HomeDesign9.com introduce to you are some very sweet pics from the stylist Aaron Hom.I love all the decors and furniture he uses, Eames, Jacobsen, Nelson, Saarinen… there is everything. My fave is the first one – white room with wooden wall unit, but all other places are gorgeous as well!
Happy Monday lovelies I hope you had a fulfilling weekend!. One of the last projects of the wonderful photographer Petra Bindel are these fantastic photos from the new catalogue of the Dutch company Muuto. I really like the nice pastel pink, yellow & turquoise colors that they are using for the line and the styling is so beautiful! Let’s come with me to Barcelona, Spain, today and take a peek into this beautiful home. The neutral toned color scheme and the high ceilings and windows give this apartment an airy and spacious look. The clean lined place is decorated with modern furniture but the wooden accessories and several rugs give warmth to the various rooms. Can you believe that this lovely apartment in Malmö, Sweden, measures less than 50 square meters? The white walls, high ceilings and white washed gives this apartment (which is for sale by the way) a spacious feel.
This beautiful Mas (a country house or farm in the South of France, usually made of stone) is located in Uzès, right in the heart of the Provence. The house is beautifully renovated and decorated with materials such as wood, stone and metal. I think this is a perfect combination of modern elements and traditional features.
Moroccan riads are always a great source of inspiration. Ryad Sharai is one of the biggest riads in Marrakech. It is hidden behind a weather-beaten door in a narrow street in the Bab Tharzout quarter. A riad is a house with a patio and this gorgeous riad has quite a large patio. It has seven bedrooms, all situated around the patio and the pool. Behind the labyrinth of rooms there is a staircase leading to the terraces. From there you have a magnificent view of the city and the Atlas mountains. The cosy cushions make this place very inviting! Grey can be a bit boring but this color will warm up with a touch of soft pink. These beautiful images are shot by photographer Line Klein. The lovely pink lamps in the image above are from Studio Snowpuppe.
Today some dark colored interiors. I think the dark hues fit the wet and gloomy weather here in The Netherlands. I like these images but I do prefer a bit of color here and there. How do you feel about using darker colors in your home?
I love a beautiful exposed wall. These brick walls give an industrial character to a space. Here some example of an exposed wall in a kitchen, living room and even a bathroom.
Today Japan is known for its minimalism and simplicity because of their Zen culture. But how to make a Zen-home in a girlish style? How to combine calmness and little sweet details? Here is a nice example how to do it. The interior is done in a truly Japanese way: with cherry blossoms, traditional colors, natural wood and simple shapes, nothing bizarre. Despite of it, there are many nice girlish details like pastel colors, beautiful accessories and lots of flowers everywhere. I love the decoration of the wall with hooks. It looks natural and is very functional – you can place shelves or hang some things on them. This interior is an amazing example of exquisite and functional combination of styles.
Teenagers are hard to please, but this gallery of goodies is bound to put a smile on their face; gorgeous spaces for girls, and cool lad pads full of fresh ideas and new colorways. The attention grabbing storage shelves flank every available space, keeping teenage clutter off the floor and schoolbooks at hand when studying.Unfortunately, teenage life can’t always be about going out with friends and having fun, these crucial years are also a time to shape future careers and hone a craft; so here is a wealth of teen workspaces to inspire those developing minds! Via Alex GoreThis laid-back attic space utilizes space up to the rafters to house an extensive selection of literature and reference books, with the desk situated to take full advantage of the largest source of natural light. Ideas for teen rooms are something young people looking to refurbish their rooms seek. We had a request at home-designing and we hope this post would help such people out. This cheerful home design, rendered by Denis Khramov, is littered with colorful hits throughout its pure white decor. Carefully placed base notes of black ground the airy scheme whilst still keeping the overall look refreshing and youthful. Large edgy artwork adorns the gallery white walls, picking up on the homes colorful accessories, such as an extensive book collection and a rainbow of scatter cushions on the sofa. ‘Island Views‘ is an inviting Caribbean villa overlooking a calm ocean scene, and filled with fresh and simple décor, African sapele wood ceilings and artistic lighting.
Add wow factor to your plain walls with these set of tips on creating unusual wall art ideas and altogether unconventional ways to fill up your blank spaces. Via Cream Bikes and ThingsA huge frame makes a masterpiece out of your old bicycle, or a very arty storage space for your current one! Looking as though a half crazed artist has just stormed out of this building in a creative frenzy, this hipster loft from B&B Italia is brimming with colorful imagination and eccentric flair. This clever example of interior layout, by the team at Fertility Design, experiments with the introduction of retractable glass doors within the heart of a home, to divide off rooms for quiet and privacy at certain times of the day, whilst still providing the opportunity of creating a free flowing open plan space when desired. The sliding doors in this example provide a barrier around the home office area for times when total concentration is needed away from the hubbub of the rest of the family home. Born in France and raised in London, stylist Marietta Beasley’s current loft in Atlanta, Georgia blends European style with New York ’70s art colony cool — when she acquired her space 15 years ago she was the first person to get a certificate of occupancy in the downtown area. Now it’s both home and studio, with an every changing collection of inspirating pieces from all over the world.
Designed by architectural trio Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune, Widlund House, located on the Swedish island of Öland in the Baltic sea, looks out onto a mesmerizing vista of everchanging blue sky and water. Built to withstand the often fierce weather — fogs and storms are common here — the house takes full advantage of the view while being a snug retreat when it clouds over. Inside, decor is minimal, keeping the focus firmly on the atmospheric surroundings. A Finnish graphic design couple show that having great taste doesn’t preclude having a mischievous sense of humour as well — their stylish home has a playful touches everywhere. So fun — that plaster hippo head is especially awesome.
Love this gorgeous Stockholm home on the Swedish Fantastic Frankproperty site — unsurprisingly it’s sold, but happily we can still admire these lovely photos.
Built in 1862 in the village of Vedbaek, a port located about 20 kilometres from Copenhagen, this former fishing shack is now a peaceful home for a couple who have opted to raise their children away from the city where they work, so they can enjoy a quieter home life. They commissioned Danish architect Jonas Bjerre-Poulsen, founder of the agency Norms Architect Copenhagen, to expand and modernize their tiny home, with an emphasis on light as a major component of the redesign. The extensive use of white, clever storage, minimal furniture and open spaces makes their house feel far larger than it actually is — even on the greyest days it feels light and airy. Lovely.
With its striking design and easy flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, the Bali, Indonesia home of Valentina Audrito and Abhishake Kumbhat and their two children showcases their work perfectly — in 2005 Valentina and Abhishake founded the Word of Mouth design group, where they create objects, clothes and accessories as well as designing commercial spaces (Valentina is an architect too). Fascinating mix of glam, traditional and modern.
I’m loving Sylvie Rochon’s cheerful Montreal apartment, furnished with great vintage finds — particularly mid century modern pieces (something Sylvie has a real eye for, as the owner of Spoutnik, a vintage furniture shop there). With its crisp white background and fantastic use of colour accessories, her space has a fresh and contemporary feel — it all feels very modern, even when you know almost everything in it is vintage. Lovely.
Artist Carouschka Streijiffert is a Stockholm-based artist who works in a variety of media — painting, sculpture, collage and carpets. When it came to finding a space where she could both work and live, she chose what was originally a series of attic lofts at the top of an early 20th century building — one where the pigeons had taken up residence. After having her application to create roof openings approved, a skylight for the studio and small round windows were installed, while (due to the aging structure of the building) steel beams and poles were put for support and a birch and concrete floor added. When it came to decorating her home, Carouschka chose to play up the industrial style of her space and highlight its interesting architecture. The entire renovation was a lot of work and headaches, but the final result, a lovely, light-filled home that looks out over the rooftops of old Stockholm on the Baltic Sea and Lake Mälaren, is more than worth it.
Love the fantastic use of colour in this bright Victorian end-of-terrace villa in north London — just amazing.
Love this pretty cottage in Mousehole, Cornwall — a converted net loft built in the 1800s on 17th-century foundations. Beautiful soft tones and textures, all with details that reflect the home’s seaside location.
I admire the long term view of Dutch felt artist Paula Leen and her partner Kees Middendorp in the province of Friesland, 80 miles north of Amsterdam — they lived in their home for 16 years before they finally purchased and renovated it. The results are poetic and beautiful.Swedish cinematographer Bengan Widell’s rustic cabin on Gotland is a peaceful retreat from his fast paced career in film — days here are spent either in happy solitude watching nesting eagles and spectacular thunderstorms over the bay, or more socially with visits from his five daughters. His cabin is an old fisherman’s shack, over 100 years old and — after some necessary renovations to replace dilapidated wood walls and ceilings — kept in a simple state. There’s no electricity, as Bengan prefers the soft glow of kerosene lamps at night, and a gas fridge and an old wood burner are the only appliances. Surrounding by stunning scenery, Bengan finds it to be the perfect antidote to a busy life filled with travel and people.

25 Modern Spiral Stairs That Will Bring a Stylish Flare to Your Home
Have you seen that curvy and winding staircase that would probably make you a little dizzy when going up and down? Looks pretty, right?
But these aren’t just for appeal. And there is a good reason why the designers and the owners agree to add a spiral staircase in their home. Do you know the advantage of this type of stairs?

Casa Blanca is no doubt a unique home! Who would think of adding an orange spiral staircase? I admire the courage of the designers and homeowners for arriving at an idea of this kind of stairs. But I applause them more for the excellent outcome!
12. M16 Architetti
M16 Architetti

23. 270º Twist
Architech Stairs & Railings
This staircase is a showpiece in a loft house. It is complete with open rise maple treads that are stained dark and round stainless spindles. It is designed with a flared bottom and 2 swooping rail that returns to the floor. It also features a curved support heel that accentuates the look and also gives it a freestanding capability.
24. Casa Bilbaina
Spiral stairs like this one always intrigued me! They actually look like giant sculptures which makes them even more interesting. You can also check out other photos of the Casa Bilbaina.
25. Chenequa House
Architech Stairs & Railings
The Chenequa House features this nice looking staircase with wooden treads. The color and materials used here are coherent with the ones used in other areas of the house. Don’t you love its natural appeal?
These are all lovely! This list actually makes me think of adding a modern spiral stair in my home. Although Feung Shui does not approve of this because it will make the homeowners feel less safe and secure, many people still prefer to use them. Well, one reason could be that not everyone believes in Feng Shui. Another good reason is that the space really deserves this swirling beauty that ascends to the next level of the home. But if you are not a fan of this, you can always use the conventional stairs. Why don’t you take a look at some modern staircase designs with glass railings, this will no doubt give you more ideas for your home’s stairs!

11. Casa Blanca
Casa Blanca is no doubt a unique home! Who would think of adding an orange spiral staircase? I admire the courage of the designers and homeowners for arriving at an idea of this kind of stairs. But I applause them more for the excellent outcome!
12. M16 Architetti
M16 Architetti
I don’t know about you but for me, this staircase is definitely a head turner and would be a lovely highlight in the interior. Aside from its choice of materials, its curvy look also deviates from the edged furniture and other modern items in the space.

Adding drawers on the riser are indeed a good way to give the staircase another function! This is indeed very creative, right? These are all lovely! This list actually makes me think of adding a modern spiral stair in my home. Although Feung Shui does not approve of this because it will make the homeowners feel less safe and secure, many people still prefer to use them. Well, one reason could be that not everyone believes in Feng Shui. Another good reason is that the space really deserves this swirling beauty that ascends to the next level of the home. But if you are not a fan of this, you can always use the conventional stairs. Why don’t you take a look at some modern staircase designs with glass railings, this will no doubt give you more ideas for your home’s stairs!

40 Minimalist Dining Rooms That Will Leave You Hungry to Copy Their Style
Like the kitchen, the dining room is an essential gathering place for any home. It’s where families can gather after a long day apart and where guests can break bread with their hosts. The extravagant formal dining rooms of yore that made it difficult to talk to someone at the other end of the table have long since given way to something a bit simpler, where breakfast cereal is more common than a five-course meal. The dining rooms featured here are elegant in their simplicity. The minimalist aesthetic works so well in the dining room because it can create a clear, clean canvas for the tapestry of the next meal that will be shared at the sparse but beautiful table.
Photographer: Jonas Lindström As with so many minimalist rooms, white will be a popular color palette in the minimalist dining room. In this Scandinavian style dining room, white walls and concrete floors create a bright, airy space in an industrial-style loft.
Visualizer: Home D Lighting should never be neglected in an dining room — these black dining pendant lights match nicely with the black dining table in this otherwise sparsely decorated room.
Visualizer: Artem Bobrov Indeed, black modern dining chairs are rather popular in the minimalist dining room.
Visualizer: Stijn Vereeken Even taller black chairs like these ones can fit into the minimalist aesthetic, mimicking the lines of the kitchen cabinetry and making the room feel bigger and more open.
Designer: i29 Architects Minimalist dining rooms do not have to be devoid of decoration. This space has a creative accent wall with a spattering of creative elements yet remains clean and sleek.
Designer: Tierney Conner Design Studio This cozy minimalist dining room leans towards the Scandinavian style with its ocean blue accent pillows and unique light fixture.
Visualizer: Denis Khramov Two brands of white Scandinavian style chairs make an appearance in this minimalist dining room: the Panton S sculpted chair and the classic Eames chair.
Designer: Paolo Didonè & Devvy Comacchio This tropical-inspired minimalist dining room has a beachy feel from its tile floor to sloped ceiling beams.
Designer: Suzie McAdam For a more colorful minimalist dining room, consider subtle shades like sage green, which work nicely with this room’s http://amzn.to/2hRQezh. Similar dining pendants are available here.
Photographer: Christian Gahl The light wood Wishbone chairs featured here have that minimalist Scandinavian vibe that is so on trend.
Visualizer: Volma Graphics The wood chairs work well in mostly white minimalist designs like this one.
Visualizer: Anastasia Bakurova Minimalist line art and a statement area rug make this minimalist living room quite artistic.
Visualizer: Metro Cúbico Digital A statement dining pendant can be a great lighting choice in a minimalist dining room.
Designer: Schlicht Lamprecht When a large statement dining pendant doesn’t quite work, more subtle pendant lighting combined with recessed lighting can be design-friendly as well as practical. The Eames shell chair is a another stylish addition.
Visualizer: 081 Arch Many minimalist dining rooms exist in open floor plan homes, which means their subtle color schemes need to mesh with surrounding areas as well — including the kitchen and dining room.
Designer: Arthur Carvalho Vieira A white tile kitchen and light wood dining set make this minimalist dining room quite simple and chic.
Designer: Joanna Kubieniec You don’t need a lot of room to make a minimalist dining room with artificial tropical leaves work.
Architect: Benn & Penna Photographer: Tom Ferguson The use of a longer table like this one can elongate a room.
Visualizer: Line Architects Lest you think the shell chair is the only Eames option for minimalist, the Eames eiffel base arm chair is another simple and beautiful option.
Visualizer: Vüsal Abbasov Minimalist dining rooms can use creative elements like a chalkboard wall to bring in simple, colorful bursts of personality.
Visualizer: Tesla Studio The stunning whitewashed floorboards in this minimalist dining room really make the room feel bigger.
Visualizer: AVG This dining room just manages to squeak into the minimalist aesthetic with its limited palette and clean lines, but large dining pendants and a huge art piece make this room a bit bolder than some of the others.
Designer: MAArchitects The white retro dining chairs in the brightly light room are quite interesting.
Visualizer: Inuti When a dining table butts up against the kitchen counter, an easy flow is created. The linear suspension light helps, too.
Visualizer: Vuong Hai Duong The wood framed windows and decorative candles give this dining room a bit of a nautical flair.
Visualizer: Lada Kamyshanskaya A modern fruit bowl and chandelier give this minimalist dining table a futuristic feel.
Visualizer: Haptic Architects Mismatched About A Chair replicas take a minimalist dining room in a bohemian direction.
Visualizer: Emanuela Berardi Dark grey is less popular than stark white in minimalist designs, but its a bit gentler than black for a bit of contrast.
Visualizer: Aurélien BRION This clean dining room is another example of the flooring creating a visual cue for a bigger seeming room.
Visualizer: Zrobym Architects In this colorful minimalist dining room, the Unfold pendant matches the yellow Eames chairs.
Visualizer: Daniel Reuterswärd This cozy dining room with a Drop chair definitely has the feeling of hygge — the Scandinavian idea of utter coziness and relaxation.

Different Bedroom Design and Style Ideas
Your room is your last sanctuary. The day of activity that takes place in your daily life should fall as you walk in this quiet space to help you relax. Use bedroom direct furniture ideas for the right balance of style, convenience and functionality if you create your perfect home-inspired vacation home.
Master Suite Ideas
For master bedrooms with square feet to store, choose a large bed or night table to anchor the space. The awning and pole style of heaven give power and presence in a spacious room, and the high-sized work best under the ceiling height of 10 or more. If you want a comfortable look of upholstered beds and headboards, choose a style with highlights such as nails or welds that prevent the bed from losing the room.
Use the bed as a starting point to gather a collection of pieces of tools that can be mixed and combined, but still work in harmony. You can also find the cheapest bunk bed bedside tables in a master suite need not be small. Opt for three squares boxes on each side of the bed to maximize storage, and watch them with large table lamps that are not outnumbered by other appliances.
Large Dressers and armor are important to fill the bedrooms and most of their wardrobe life, and should be put away from the bed to prevent overcrowding. A upholstered storage bench at the foot of the bed is a useful tool for slippery shoes on and off low, and it is also an ideal place to establish a blanket and cushion. To provide a large bedroom some of the feel of a beautiful hotel suite that set a place in a reading corner with a chair or a folding occasional sofa, a unique floor lamp and a bookhelf-filled Your favorite readers and framed family photos.
Put a vanity or desk for a window to make the most of the natural light and curtain hanging floor length to soften the room and add privacy. For a final, dramatic touch that gathers it, a large candelabrum is hanging in the center of the room.
Classic Retirement
With a cover to have a medium or smaller bedroom - they are very comfortable. Sectional Sofa and beds are perfect for spaces when they serve dual purpose: use them for bed and sleep or sit and read. Bring a set of stick tools into a dark wood to define the room, then add a layer of soft design with soft colored bedding or a muted paisley. Note that for most rooms the recommended height for bedside diapers is 26 "to 30" (low enough so that the glow is not too far to find your book page).
The careful wall mount scones or pendant lights are an elegant alternative if you want to keep the surfaces clear for other items, such as photos, flower bottles or travel stories. A single large painting or collection of framed picture rooms and smaller artworks makes the best wall behind your bed - or the thought of a mirror gallery that combines different shape and frames. It is an easy way to draw a room and give the illusion of more space. You can visit a very attractive collection at Northeast Factory Direct.
Modern Oasis
If a clean and flawless design gives you a state of rest, choose a low platform, zen inspiration, which is easy to sink. Metal night tables, dressers and cases have sharp and sound appeal that are great in modern bedrooms as well as additional furniture but the remarkable details of the mid-century design movement. Complete the look with bedding with touch of texture, think black, gray or white linen with natural variation of fabric to bring organic softness to your minimalist space.
Comfort Cottage
A room that looks comfortable and a little unfold is very attractive. Start an eclectic look for your room by filling it with white or painted furniture. The pieces can be matched, but they do not have to. Pull different colors and styles of leather sofas furniture - and add some pieces with a slightly worn, hand painted look - for a mix that looks like time and place. Keep details of a bright and fun way by adding bedding patterns and non-neutral wall colors such as sage green and robin's egg blue. Stack your high bed with decorative cushion and hang glossy curtains, gauzy in windows. Unleash the room with personal items for you: a rocker heir, silver pictures of your grandparents, a huge basket of peppers filled with your favorite magazines. Sweet dreams
Fill your room with furniture that makes your eyes, the blanket enjoys you to create comfortable and personal treasures that make you smile. After all, your bedroom is the most personal room in your home, and not for anyone other than you

Luxury Kids’ Rooms
Luxury decor inspiration can be found in spades when it comes to sophisticated master bedrooms, spa style bathrooms and regal reception rooms, but what about when it comes to making a space fit for a young princess or prince? Luxury kids’ rooms are a special niche but we’ve put together a detailed selection of five amazing kids spaces. These high-end interiors include fabulous bedrooms with dedicated study zones/art desks, plus kids’ ensuite bathrooms that have bags of style mixed with a cool young vibe. Colour schemes of blush with monochrome, blue teamed with chestnut, pale grey spiked with lime green, and sweet pink neutralised by a smooth taupe.
Visualizer: TOL'KO interiors Blush tones soften the bold contrast of the busy black and white backdrop here. Sections of plain white wall and built in cabinets break up the scheme. The desk is also a solid white, though it’s backed by wood tone to neatly tie in with the ceiling treatment. A chrome designer table lamp adds a little sheen to the work area. This lamp is the iconic AJ Lamp by Arne Jacobsen.
Floor tiles are streaked in a black vein and monochrome houndstooth covers cushions but it’s the subtle understated pink hue that grabs attention.
A grey deep pile area rug acts as a transition between the colours of the room, pulling the scheme together. It also provides a plush warm path on which to pad barefoot around the bed.
The muted pink sections over the padded headboard and bespoke storage solutions are complemented by a large area of light warm wood tone panelling across a sloping ceiling, almost like a canopy. Circular lights of varying sizes have been mounted to the ceiling in a cosmic effect.
The desk has been worked into a bespoke storage system with integrated shelves. This is teamed with a stylish desk chair to provide a comfortable place to complete studies, or arts and crafts.
The wall opposite the bed harbours two main doors and a bank of built-in storage that are all camouflaged by stripes of colour that match wall paintwork.
In the ensuite bathroom the blush and monochrome colour story continues. The busy tiles filling the shower area make it look like a Jackson Pollock painting. A flash of green is added over in the decorative plant stands.
A black faucet is mounted directly into the mirror behind the basin.
The bathtub has a matching black freestanding tap.
A small side table by the tub matches the faucet.
An array of lotions and potions can be stashed by the basin in this built-in shelving unit.
A relaxing view over private grounds can be enjoyed from a bubble bath.
A small grey stool by the vanity makes this into a dressing table too.
Visualizer: TOL'KO interiors Our second luxury kid’s space has a strong blue and brown colour scheme.
Along one wall, a bank of white storage units has been built into the eaves. Extending from one of these units is a study desk.
An upholstered desk chair makes a comfortable study spot.
The storage at the other side of the room is solid blue. This is matched by cushions on the sofa bed and a neat geometric table.
The floor is a fashionable herringbone design, made even more trendy by the addition of randomly painted panels, picked out here in a solid chestnut hue. A set of wallbars, for suspension training and fitness band exercises, match the natural tone of the floor, as does the rattan basket.
The scheme continues cohesively in the ensuite bathroom.
A unique pegboard style installation creates multiple, changeable, options for hanging face towels and mounting small shelves for toiletries.
The modern towel heater matches the diagonal chestnut design of the floor.
A tall basin stands on a low mounted vanity unit, which incorporates a padded seat.
Visualizer: Stephen Tsimbalyuk Kid space number three is a bright white vision with punchy lime green accents found just in one pillow and one knitted pouffe. A couple of soft grey pieces balance out the citrus tone. Everything else in the space is pure ice white, including the cabinets, bed, headboard and bedside table lamp, which is the Atollo lamp.
The bedside tables run in line with the panels of the oversized headboard.
The storage cabinets in this room have been mounted high off the floor, providing a neat stow away area for the only occasionally used knitted pouffes.
Drawers under the bed provide an added area for hiding away belonging.
Hidden lightning warmly illuminates the space beneath the wall mounted cabinets. A bedside pegboard acts as an adjustable display area for treasured items.
Another giant pegboard backs the desk.
This time the board also holds a set of drawers and acts as a headphone stand.
Visualizer: Stephen Tsimbalyuk Our fourth luxury kids’ room is a beautiful pink and taupe visual that incorporates cute woodland animal art prints.
Extra pops of colour lift the sweet scheme. This giant wall clock makes a really fun addition.
The single four poster bed looks fit for a modern little princess.
The room has a nice balance of study, rest and play areas.
Visualizer: Visable Lastly, our fifth space is pretty in pink and white.
Three heart shaped stools make a sweet sociable area for tea parties.
Huge cut-out butterflies glide over the ceiling.

Chip and Joanna’s Newest ‘Fixer Upper’ Is a Must-See Vacation Rental
HGTV
“Fixer Upper” stars Chip and Joanna Gaines don’t seem to be satisfied just dominating the ever-growing world of home improvement TV. They aren’t resting on their laurels watching the homes they’ve designed go for huge bucks in their home market of Waco, TX. No, the superstar renovation couple have another frontier to conquer:
The rental market.
After portending a “big announcement” on their social media channels all week, the pair finally announced plans to open their second vacation rental home in Waco this fall. Say hello to Hillcrest Estate!
The design duo opened Magnolia House, their first vacation rental property just 20 minutes outside of Waco, in February 2016; currently it rents for $695 per night. And apparently, the demand has been so high that they decided to expand. Their newest venture—a seven-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom home at 3601 Hillcrest Dr.—will be available to rent starting in September, according to the Magnolia newsletter.
The exact price per night at Hillcrest is as yet unknown, but there are enough beds to sleep a dozen people. So there’s plenty of room for all your “Fixer Upper” fan friends!
“Chip and I had so much fun restoring this old Waco icon,” Gaines wrote on her Instagram post introducing the property. “This house dates back to 1903 and we definitely kept its old world charm—our hope is that friends and families from all over can make lasting memories here during their visit to Waco.”
Hillcrest Estate, the second vacation rental home from Chip and Joanna Gaines
Magnolia
The 5,386-square-foot home was listed in June 2015 for $549,900 but did not attract a buyer. It was relisted in February 2016 for $498,000 and was eventually scooped up by the Gaineses, who then gave it an extensive makeover. (The exact purchase date and price are unknown.)
Other famous ‘Fixer Upper’ rentals
And who can blame Chip and Jo for doubling down on this type of business venture? “Fixer Upper” vacation rentals—places renovated by the couple and being rented out by former clients eager to capitalize on the massive popularity of the show— are multiplying fast.
While Chip and Jo have stated that they prefer the recipients of “Fixer Upper” homes remain happily living in these renovated abodes, more and more folks are seizing the opportunity to turn them into cash cows. Since the show’s premiere in 2013, there have been at least six other homes from the show in Waco that were available for rent on VRBO and Airbnb, including some of the most memorable places from the show.
For example, since their episode aired in Season 3, the owners of the famous Shotgun House had been renting it out for $325 a night through Airbnb. According to the couple’s listing agent, Jennifer Roberts, “The property [stayed] rented at over a 90% occupancy rate.”
Renting it out likely brought in a net profit of around $53,000 a year, according to Gregor Watson, co-founder and chairman of Roofstock.
And show fans will also remember the iconic Barndominium from Season 3. The owner, Kristi Bass (who purchased the home from the people for whom the Gaineses had restored it), had been renting it out on VRBO for $1,200 to $1,500 per night. While this investment property was clearly a profitable enterprise, her neighbors were less than enthusiastic about this disruption to their once-quiet town. The city sued Bass, seeking to bar her from renting out the home, but a recent ruling allowed Bass to rent out the property.
So what will it be like to walk inside this latest venture run by none other than Chip and Jo themselves? Check out the before-and-after photos of the Hillcrest home below.
