How to start a social media marketing agency
A Guide on How to Start a Social Media Marketing Agency
The digital age has created vast opportunities in the realm of marketing, and social media has emerged as a powerful tool for businesses to reach and engage with their target audience. If you're looking to tap into this dynamic field and start your own social media marketing agency, this article is your road map to success. Let's explore how to start a social media marketing agency, step by step.
Step 1: Understand the Industry
Before diving into the world of social media marketing, it's essential to understand the industry thoroughly. This includes staying updated on the latest trends, platforms, and tools. You should be well-versed in how social media works, its impact on businesses, and the nuances of different platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Step 2: Develop Your Skills
To establish a social media marketing agency, you need a strong foundation in digital marketing. This includes skills in content creation, social media management, SEO, paid advertising, analytics, and more. Consider enrolling in courses or gaining certifications to enhance your knowledge and credibility.
Step 3: Define Your Niche
One of the keys to success in the social media marketing world is specialization. Determine your niche or focus area. Do you want to specialize in e-commerce, small businesses, B2B marketing, or a specific industry like healthcare or fashion? This focus will help you tailor your services and target your ideal clients.
Step 4: Create a Business Plan
Every successful business begins with a well-thought-out business plan. Your plan should include details about your agency's structure, services, target audience, pricing, revenue projections, and a marketing strategy to attract clients.
Step 5: Register Your Business
Choose a suitable business structure (e.g., sole proprietorship, LLC, or corporation) and register your agency. Make sure you comply with all legal requirements in your jurisdiction, including obtaining any necessary licenses and permits.
Step 6: Build Your Online Presence
As a social media marketing agency, your online presence is vital. Create a professional website that showcases your services, portfolio, case studies, and client testimonials. Develop a strong presence on social media platforms to demonstrate your expertise.
Step 7: Set Pricing and Packages
Determine your pricing structure and create packages that outline the services you offer. Consider offering a range of packages to cater to various client needs. Your pricing should be competitive and reflect the value you provide.
Step 8: Find Clients
Finding your first clients can be a challenge, but networking and outreach are key. Start by reaching out to your existing network, attending industry events, and using platforms like LinkedIn to connect with potential clients. Consider offering initial discounts to attract your first clients and build your portfolio.
Step 9: Provide Outstanding Service
The success of your agency hinges on the quality of service you provide. Be attentive to your clients' needs, communicate effectively, and deliver results. Happy clients are more likely to refer your agency and provide valuable testimonials.
Step 10: Scale Your Business
As your agency grows, you may need to scale your business by hiring additional staff or subcontractors. Maintain a focus on quality, keep learning, and adapt to the ever-changing social media landscape.
Conclusion
Starting a social media marketing agency can be a rewarding endeavor. With the right skills, a solid business plan, and a dedication to providing exceptional service, you can build a successful agency that helps businesses thrive in the digital world. Keep learning, adapting, and staying current with industry trends to ensure long-term success.

A few years ago, I noticed that a number of factories in China had started opening TikTok accounts and posting footage from their assembly lines. The videos offered a rare glimpse into global supply chains, and millions of Western TikTok users marveled at teddy bears being stuffed with polyester fiberfill, machines dipping gardening gloves into hot liquified nitrile rubber, and quality assurance testers seeing whether cheap cigarette lighters worked. (My friend and former colleague Andrew Deck wrote a great story about factory TikTok for Rest of World in 2021.)
Since then, hundreds of other Chinese factories have joined TikTok. Some of them produce industrial equipment that would never be bought by normal people, like dump trucks or bottle labeling machines. And while the older factory accounts were often created by marketing agencies, these newer ones seem to largely be the work of earnest salespeople trying to find new customers. Many of them are relying on AI translation and text-to-speech tools, making the videos unintentionally sound very funny.
One of these manufacturers is a company called Donghua Jinlong, which is headquartered in Hebei province about 200 miles from Beijing. It sells “high quality industrial grade glycine,” a type of nutritional additive that evidently sounds silly and abstract to people who never need to think about how processed food is made. Donghua Jinglong and its glycine have become a relatively big meme on TikTok, Instagram, and X over the last few days, and some of the company’s videos are getting over 100,000 views (even though its official account only has roughly 4,400 followers).
Donghua Jinlong itself, however, doesn’t seem to have any idea what’s going on. People in the comments keep begging it to make official merch, but the company doesn’t understand why anyone would want a sweatshirt or t-shirt with the name of an industrial manufacturer on it. Shitposters have also started referencing the Donghua Jinlong meme in the comments of videos from other Chinese factories.
A company called HengYuan, for example, posted a video of what can only be described as a machine for filling Tide Pods, and one of the top comments is someone asking “Could you pack food grade glycine in this?”
Clearly baffled, HengYuan responded, “No. This is used to pack detergent in PVA Film.”
The Donghua Jinlong meme is a great microcosm of what’s actually happening on TikTok when it comes to content from China. Some people might argue that Chinese manufacturers are choosing to post on the app because its parent company, ByteDance, is also from China. In other words, these factories could be held up as an example of TikTok allowing Chinese influence to grow in the US (albeit a bizarre one).
But Donghua Jinlong also has a Facebook page with even more followers, it’s just that no one is engaging with its posts there. That’s because there are likely very few people searching social media for a new glycine supplier at any given time. TikTok, however, doesn’t rely on users to actively seek out content, it serves videos to them via an algorithm. So now tons of random people are coming across glycine manufacturers and Tide Pod machines by accident, and they’re happily turning the whole thing into a joke.
I personally find these videos to be fascinating, both because It’s cool to learn how things are made, and because they provide the opportunity to watch in real time what happens when random Chinese companies come into contact with American social media users. I don’t think this is the type of Chinese influence lawmakers are imagining when they worry about TikTok, but it’s arguably much more interesting and human.

5 Ways to Set Yourself Up For Success as an Aspiring Author
While these things don’t guarantee your manuscript will be picked up or that you’ll sell more books (and aren’t necessary to achieve that!) here are five things that publishing houses look for in authors to help make the book as successful as it can be, and you can start working on now.
1. Get an agent
I can’t say this is true across every publishing house, but in my small publishing house that accepts submissions from both agented and non-agented writers, we move the agented writers to the top of the manuscript pile. This is because they already have a professional in the industry who has vouched for the work.
However!! Important to note that a bad agent can tank your chances as much as a good one can raise them. I had a coworker say about a particular agent, “if I was on the fence about a manuscript and saw (the agent) was representing it, I would move it to the pass pile.” The agent was in general difficult to work with and didn’t actually listen to what her writer wanted, demanding for the house to make poor marketing decisions for the book based on her own personal opinion on what looked good. Oh, and she had also worked in publishing for Penguin Random House for over a decade, so what previous experience they have in the publishing world isn’t all you should consider when reaching out to agents. You want people with lots of experience actually—y’know—agenting.
Check out their previous clients and how many they have! Yes, small agents with only a few years of experience can still be amazing—but make sure you do your research no matter how experienced they seem and see if you can’t do a background check. (The agent mentioned above ended up firing her author! I’m sure the author has tales to tell about her).
2. Come up with marketing ideas
Your publicist is going to do so, so much work for you. Seriously, we have some really awesome publicists who are kicking ass submitting to contests and putting on events and sending authors on tour—but they’re also managing several titles at once, so authors who can pull their own weight a bit when it comes to coming up with marketing ideas for their book are highly appreciated.
If you ever have any ideas on how to reach your specific audience, write them down and try to fill them out with as many details as possible (who is involved, where will it happen, how will it happen, how much funding it requires etc.) and share them with your publicist, the marketing team will thank you for it!
3. Form relationships with the industry!
This one is huge! One thing we actually ask of authors right off the bat is if they know any industry contacts such as booksellers, media contacts, or other professionals/authors. If you can, intern/volunteer/or work for a newspaper, magazine, book store, agency, or anything similar. Having a list of people who know and like you to reach out to for writing articles or otherwise supporting your release is going to help a lot with the promotion and selling of the book! People are much more likely to help out or feature the book of someone they know, rather than a stranger, so start collecting your contacts now.
4. Grow some sort of social media following
Definitely not essential, but seen as a boon for sure if writers already have a community that are likely to support their new release. If you can point to a group of people that already like you or are interested in your work, we’re going to see that as an asset! Especially for book launches—there’s no greater publisher’s fear than a tanking book launch, and it’s so much more likely to go well if you have a community of people you know will show up.
5. Trust your publishing house
You’d be surprised how many authors drag their heels and kick and scream when it comes to the marketing decisions our team makes. While yes, a cover you aren’t necessarily thrilled about, or author bio that sounds a little too self-aggrandizing can suck a bit, know that these decisions are coming from people who have decades of experience in the industry and know how to get your book into the hands of readers. If they think a certain cover, title, subtitle, bio, photo, layout, etc. etc. would be best for your book, trust them. They’re the pros.
I’m happy to answer any other questions you have about the publishing world!

The Instagram reality
Few weeks ago we had our yearly advertising shooting at my company. It‘s the same procedure as every year, a lot shootings with good looking femal and male models. This year we had for the first time a new (relatively unknown) model agency, because our CEO wants a new look with new faces for our products. After we we’re done, it‘s a tradition that the whole teams goes out together for dinner.
I don't know if everyone is aware that in addition to normal characteristics such as height, weight, hair color, etc., the number of Instagram followers is now also an important feature on the model's set card.
I got talking to one of the new models who had recently switched from one of the big agencies to this new one. She was relatively unknown, one face among many, with just under 8,000 IG followers. Until she made the "mistake" of falling in love with a celebrity actor. Her agency was delighted at how this relationship could be used to increase her market value. Her partner had been relatively reserved about his private life until then, but after his agent was also taken with the idea, he agreed to post more "private" photos with his girlfriend.
In the beginning, the posts were limited to pictures of joint appearances at events. The number of her followers slowly rose from 8,000 to 20,000 within a few months. Then she was advised to post more private things. Gradually, she posted more photos from vacations, home, family celebrations, etc., always on her account, while the actor still only showed pictures from public appearances together.
As a result, the number of her followers rose significantly to over 100,000 within a very short time. Unfortunately, the majority of them were his fans. Then it happened what always happens.
The posts about her work as model faded more and more into the background and everyone was only interested in her relationship. Her family, friends and even work partners were almost overrun by his fans and not alway in a friendly way. Her requests for photo shoots became fewer and fewer. Her agency was told that they didn't want to work with a model who had no independence and was only defined by her partner, especially as his fans didn't correspond to the target group of most companies.
The pressure from her agency became more and more, which also affected her relationship, which finally failed. After the relationship ended, the number of her followers dropped significantly. When her bookings stopped and her agency told her to look for another job, she decided for a new start at another agency.
This is just one of many examples of why even "private" posts on IG always have a business background, whether it's vacation pictures from Caribbean islands, trips to celebrity ski races, snapshots of private excursions in which the car is also pictured, etc.
PRIVATE does not exist on social media, even if many would like to believe it does. Fans are only being sold a fantasy that they want to see!

Lifeline - Ch. 5: Out of the Frying Pan
Pairings: Dieter Bravo x Female Reader, referred to as “Honey”
Series Summary: After basically being dropped and rejected by every PR agency in Hollywood for being such a huge liability, Dieter Bravo must work on resetting his public image in the most unexpected ways.
Author's Notes: I have been working on this fic on and off for the past year, and this story is a little personal to me. Yes, I am trauma dumping in some scenes lol but I also want to say that there will be so many unrealistic things about Hollywood, actors, and PR/Marketing agencies here, to which I apologize.
Warnings: Angst, a little drama, lots of flashbacks. More warnings to come as the story progresses.
Read this on AO3 | Series Masterlist | Main Masterlist
Dieter spent the rest of the weekend drifting through his spacious Sherman Oaks home, a place that now felt more like a cage than a sanctuary. The house was filled with the echoes of a life he was trying—and failing—to put back together. He wandered from room to room, aimlessly flipping through scripts he couldn’t focus on and scrolling through social media feeds that only deepened his sense of isolation. The events and appearances were starting to feel like a routine, but the moments in between were unbearable. Dieter’s thoughts kept circling back to the gala, replaying every second of Honey’s smile and Phil’s hand on her back.
He tried distracting himself with old habits, but every familiar vice felt hollow. By Saturday afternoon, Dieter was staring at his phone, debating whether to call someone—anyone—to break the monotony. But he knew Mitch would hear about it, and he wasn’t in the mood for another lecture. So he settled on the one thing that still gave him some sense of purpose: art.
Dieter had always been drawn to art, sketching, and painting whenever he needed an outlet. It was something he rarely showed others, the way he kept his love of music so close to himself, it’s a space within his own space where he could express all the things he couldn’t say or sing out loud.
When he saw a post about the weekend art class at the community center where he spent creating Mother’s Day cards with the kids a few weeks ago, he grabbed his keys without a second thought, convincing himself it was just boredom. It wasn’t like he had anywhere else to go, and teaching kids art sounded like a better use of his time than staring at his empty walls, waiting for the hallucinogens to kick in and change him.
When he arrived, the room was already set up with easels, watercolor palettes, and brushes laid out neatly on the tables. The instructor, a kind-faced woman named Maria, welcomed him with a smile, thrilled to have an extra set of hands. The kids were buzzing with excitement, chattering about the different techniques they wanted to try. Dieter slipped into the familiar rhythm easily, helping mix colors and showing a few kids how to blend their washes for soft, dreamy skies.
“You’re really good at this,” Maria remarked, watching as Dieter demonstrated a simple wet-on-wet technique to a group of wide-eyed kids.
Dieter shrugged, a faint smile playing on his lips. “Thanks. I used to do this a lot… it’s been a while.”
He found himself losing track of time, immersed in the act of creating something beautiful out of nothing. The kids painted flowers, sunsets, and abstract swirls, each one pouring their imagination onto the paper. Dieter worked alongside them, his brush moving instinctively as he let the watercolor flow. Without really thinking, he began to paint a silhouette—a figure standing alone, surrounded by warm, soft colors that bled into each other like a hazy memory.
As he painted, the figure began to take shape: a woman, standing at the edge of a field, her back turned as if she were walking away. The scene was familiar, almost painfully so. Dieter’s brush moved more deliberately now, adding delicate touches of light and shadow. He painted her hair catching the sunlight, the faint outline of a red dress that bled into the sky. It was Honey, captured in the soft, dreamlike hues of his memory.
When he finished, Dieter stepped back, staring at the painting in silence. It was both the best thing he’d ever made and the most bittersweet to look at. The image of Honey standing alone, forever just out of reach, hit him like a punch to the gut. He hadn’t meant to paint her, but there she was—etched in every stroke, every wash of color, every suppressed feeling he couldn’t let go of.
He took the painting home, propping it up against the wall in his living room. Dieter stared at it for hours, unable to tear his eyes away. It felt like he was staring at all the things he’d lost, every mistake he’d made, and every moment he wished he could take back. He wanted to call Honey, to tell her what he’d made, but what was the point? She had her life, and he was stuck in the wreckage of his own.
As the hours passed, Dieter’s resolve crumbled. He ordered a few lines of coke, the old familiar sting of rebellion luring him in. He told himself it was fine—he wasn’t allowed to go anywhere anyway. He was on house arrest, in a sense, and no one would know. He washed it down with whiskey, drinking until the edges of his memories blurred and the painting became just another part of the wall.
By Sunday night, Dieter was sprawled on his couch, staring blankly at the ceiling, his mind a fog of regret and numbness. He didn’t want to think about Honey, about Phil, or about the mess he’d made of his life. He just wanted to forget, even if it was just for a little while.
–
Dieter woke to the sound of frantic whispers, a dull, persistent buzzing that cut through the fog of his hangover. He blinked against the harsh light streaming through the windows, his head pounding with the familiar aftermath of too much booze and bad decisions. Slowly, the room came into focus—the mess of empty bottles, the painting of Honey still leaning against the wall, and, standing right above him, Mitch and Honey, their faces tight with a mix of anger, fear, and something Dieter couldn’t quite place.
“What the hell, Dieter?” Mitch’s voice was sharp, laced with panic in a way Dieter hadn’t heard before. “What were you thinking?”
Dieter struggled to sit up, his vision swimming. He ran a hand over his face, trying to piece together the night before. “What are you doing here?” he mumbled, his words slurred.
Mitch’s expression darkened, his eyes flashing with a combination of anger and concern. “Your assistant called me. He found you like this, passed out with bottles everywhere. He thought you’d overdosed, Dieter! He thought you were dead!”
The words hit like a slap, jolting Dieter into a clearer awareness of the mess around him. He looked to Honey, hoping for some sign of understanding, but her face was pale, her eyes glassy with restrained emotion. She stood a step back from Mitch, her arms crossed tightly, as if trying to hold herself together. There was no judgment in her gaze, only a deep, haunting sadness.
Dieter’s stomach churned as he tried to stand, the reality of their presence sinking in. “I wasn’t—Jesus, I wasn’t trying to do anything. I just… I just had a couple of drinks.”
Mitch’s voice rose, a mix of frustration and desperation. “A couple of drinks? Look around, Dieter! It looks like you went on a bender. Do you even realize what this looks like? Do you understand how close we were to calling the damn paramedics?”
Dieter’s temper flared, his defenses kicking in. “It’s my house, Mitch. My fucking house! What do you expect me to do? I’m not allowed to go anywhere, can’t see anyone, can’t do anything. I’m stuck here like a damn prisoner, and now you’re pissed because I had a drink in my own home?”
Honey finally stepped forward, her voice soft but trembling with urgency. “Dieter, this isn’t just about the drinking. It’s about what happens when you let yourself spiral. We’ve seen this before—we’ve seen you push yourself to the edge, and every time, it gets harder to pull you back.”
Dieter looked at her, his chest tightening. The last time he’d overdosed, it had been on the set of Cliff Beasts 6, and it was Anika who’d brought him back. The memory of waking up in a haze, surrounded by horrified faces, was a wound that never fully healed. But this—this was different. This was just a weekend alone, a moment of weakness, not a full-on catastrophe. At least, that’s what he told himself.
“And how would you know about pulling me back?” he challenged, his voice dripping with bitterness. “You weren’t there!”
Her voice wavered, the vulnerability breaking through her professional facade. Honey’s eyes were wet, but she blinked back the tears, refusing to let them fall in front of him. She had watched Dieter unravel from afar, powerless to intervene, haunted by every glimpse of the man she once knew losing himself in the public eye. It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion, knowing you couldn't stop it, feeling every impact from a distance.
Mitch stood there, absorbing the tension between them, and something clicked in the back of his mind. He had known Honey was deeply invested in restarting Dieter’s public image—it was why she was the best at what she did—but the way she spoke, the emotion in her voice, suggested something more.
There was a history between them, buried beneath years of separation and, what seemingly, to him, sounds like, regrets. Mitch had always assumed Honey’s dedication was purely professional, that she does the same for each client she handles which is why came highly recommended, and maybe she does– but now, watching the two of them, he couldn’t ignore the sense that he was missing a crucial piece of their story.
He cleared his throat, his voice softer but edged with curiosity. “I didn’t know you two... I didn’t realize you’d known each other that long.” Mitch hesitated, his instincts telling him there was more to this than either of them had let on.
Honey shot him a brief, guarded glance, her professional mask slipping back into place, but it was too late. The crack was there, and Mitch had seen it. She opened her mouth as if to say something, then closed it again, unwilling to expose the depth of her past with Dieter. It wasn’t something she could explain in a room full of raw nerves and simmering resentments. It was years of connection, of love, of hurt, and everything they never resolved.
Dieter noticed Mitch’s confusion, his own expression hardening as he pushed back. “It doesn’t matter how long we’ve known each other,” Dieter said, his voice strained. “None of that matters anymore.” But the crack in his voice told another story, one of a man who couldn’t quite let go of what once was.
Dieter stared at her, anger and shame roiling inside him. He wanted to push back, to scream that he was fine, that they were overreacting, but the truth was lodged in his throat like a jagged stone. They weren’t just mad; they were terrified. Honey’s eyes were glistening with unshed tears, and Dieter could see the pain in every line of her face.
Mitch pressed his palms to his forehead, his voice breaking. “Do you think I want to get a call that you’re dead, Dieter? Do you think I want to be the one to have to tell the world that you’re gone because you couldn’t keep yourself together for one weekend? We’re not just fighting for your career; we’re fighting for you. And you keep throwing it in our faces.”
Dieter clenched his fists, feeling cornered, ganged up on, the walls closing in around him. “I didn’t ask for any of this! You think I’m happy here? Alone in this big-ass house with nothing but ghosts? What do you expect me to do, huh? I’m not allowed to fuck up because everyone’s waiting for me to fail. I’m just a goddamn headline waiting to happen.”
Honey stepped back, her composure finally cracking. She wiped at her eyes, her voice trembling. “Dieter, we’re not your enemies. We’re not here to control you. We just… we just don’t want to lose you. Not like this.”
Dieter’s anger peaked, his voice ragged as he lashed out. “Well, maybe you should stop trying to save someone who doesn’t want to be saved. I didn’t ask for this intervention. I didn’t ask for any of you to play babysitter. I’m not a fucking child, and I don’t need you hovering over me, waiting for me to mess up. I can handle my own damn life.”
The room fell into a strained silence, the air thick with tension and hurt. Mitch shook his head, his frustration palpable but tempered by a deep, unspoken worry. He grabbed his jacket, his voice low but firm. “You’re right, Dieter. You are handling your life. But if you keep this up, there won’t be much left to handle.”
Honey lingered for a moment longer, her eyes locked on Dieter’s, filled with a sorrow that went beyond professional disappointment. She wanted to reach out, to pull him back from the edge he was so determined to stand on, but she knew she couldn’t be the one to save him. Not anymore.
“Just… please, Dieter,” Honey said softly, her voice breaking. “Take care of yourself. If not for you, then for the people who still care.”
Dieter watched them go, his heart heavy with the weight of their words. As the door closed behind Mitch and Honey, the silence returned, cold and suffocating. Dieter stared at the painting of Honey on the wall, its colors vivid and haunting, a reminder of the life he kept pushing away. He sank back onto the couch, burying his face in his hands, the reality of his choices crashing down on him.
He was alone again, trapped in a cycle of his own making, and for the first time, Dieter wasn’t sure how to break free.

Catch me if you can part 1
Ghost/Roach | Celebrity AU
Gary 'Roach' Sanderson on Tiktok know simply as 🪳Bugboy 🪳 has one of the biggest fan edit accounts for popular actor Simon Riley best know for his roll as 'the Ghost' in a action movie the first project he worked on after his long child actor career. It was quite a change seeing him going from being the love intressted in teenage movies to a wanted CIA agent that got dropped by the agency. Roach liked both versions what maybe is related to the celebrity crush he has since he is 12. Earlier this year Simon Roley returned to the popular cop show 'The new Sherlock Holmes' he left to film a movie trilogie where he was a Knight fighting in a medieval war. Being the well beloved leader of the SWAT team, Martin Jackson, from new Scotland Yard. It honestly was a hugh suprise he returned but he told in interviews its a fun project while he looks for other interesting projects.
"Stalking Rileys social media again, Gary?", Rodolfo his colleague and best friend asks amused. Having a steaming mug with coffee in on and and an appel in the other. He places the appel on Roaches desk. Roach shakes his head, he is in fact working, staring at the grafic hes making for the past 20 minutes, trying to figure out how to make it that dont causes him to have remake it again in something way worse then what he has.
"As if you dont do the same with Alejandro Vargas", Roach retorts amused, trying to think like the higher-ups, how a social media of a sports team should look like. He knows how to run a successful account, has even a degree in it, but the higer-ups have very diffrent views. So everything has to be done 3 times till they found a compromise, so they are always 3 weeks behind trends, having to prove a trendy audio will give them engagement. God if he finds the person that put such a short leach on the marketing team, he will murder them. They work for a very old and traditional Cricket Club, emphasis on old some of the higher ups probaly where alive when the club was founded.
"Do you rember the teribel joke Mr. Henderson told last week? I need it for a post, asking people to share their own bad jokes for engagement bait." Rudy gives him do you really want to do this look. Nobody laughed about that joke, not even the old men at the top.
"Honestly my brain has a filter for his jokes so no." Roach groans dramatically, throwing his hands in the air, mumbling a I can't work like that. Bitting in the appel in frustration. Now he has to ask the man what will lead to him needing 20 minutes explaining how engagement on social media works and why it's so important. Already hearin Hendersons back in my day peopel listened over radio an we needed no silly dances on the internet, back in his day the steam maschie wasn't invented yet. Taking another bite from the appel, not liking its taste, the free fruits had better quality ones.
"Just tell him it's so good he needs to share is with the fans." Roach gives him a sceptical look, because that won't work right? It can't be that easy. Roach is ready to leave the office, when Rudy is winking him over. Rudy is curently frowning over an e-mail he got. He start reading it crossing his arms in front of his chest a cooperaton with another firm. Rudy is scrolling down to read the rest of the mail. Roach is resting his read on the back rest if Rudys chair looking over his right shoulder. Flying over the opening to were the mouse pointer is.
As i mentioned above I work at a for hire PR-Firm and are mainly know for work at Galas, Award cerominies and other red carpet events, but recently get the chance to work in other areas. We will mangaging the official Tiktok and Instagram for the hit TV show "The New Sherlock Holmes" for the up comming season and for the entiere UK and rest of Europe tour for a K-pop band. We would really love to work with your Tiktok and Instagram team to learn how they are making the short videos. We offer helping your Team for big gala events of the Club to get better resultes.
with warm regards
Valeria Graza
"Did she ask us for help and then insulted or work?", Roach is asking frowning. Finishing up the fruit.
"She sure did", Rudy say while forwarding the E-mail to their boss Kate Laswell, in the end its her choice and not theirs. Roach signs there is no more time to stall to get this stupid joke from Mr. Henderson.
"Better get the joke." He says before leaving the office to go to the elevators.
"Dont get stucked in the 1850s, while you there", Rudy is shouting after him. Rudy reads over the mail again, his eyes falling on to the name of the TV show, the chance for Roach to meet his celebrity crush, sometimes live is unfair.

model!reader being in a fake dating situation with idol!childe for the sake of their careers.
you got tangled up in a dating rumor with childe when reporters saw the two of you out on a "date", when the both of you only happened to be in the same store at the same time, coincidentally. your companies both saw this as a good marketing strategy for the both of your careers since it can get people to talk about the both of you more. they released a statement right after, saying that the two of you are in fact dating.
you two don't know each other personally before, but since the press release, both your managers immediately set up a reservation on a high-class restaurant to get to know each other better.
right off the bat, you hate him. he is cocky, arrogant, and all in all has an aura that you hate. you dislike how he seems a know-it-all and looks like he is mocking you everytime you speak.
childe, on the other hand, does not want to be in this situation. at all. he just went through a bad break up (privately, no one knew he had a significant other) and now his agency wants him to be in one. thus, he does everything in the date to piss you off so you will, hopefully, "break-up" with him.
both your managers convinced you that the both of you does not need to be together for so long and only need to act like a couple publicly, so long as it will benefit your careers.
with this, both of yoy started going out on "dates", being spotted walking hand-in-hand, and acting all lovey-dovey in social media, posting each other on each's accounts acting couple-y, even though it is far from what happens behind closed doors.
still, the both of you managed to get closer even after all the teasing and fights between the two of you. there, he confided in you how he is still hung up over his ex and how he wishes he still could be with her. said she dumped him to avoid being a "hindrance" to his career. you also manage to trust him enough to tell him all about your secrets. from that day forward, you find yourself being drawn to him more and more. you start to become more conscious and safe around him, found yourself craving more of his affection privately, and it's too late now before you realize that, shit, you're falling in love with him.
you tried to ignore it, you really do. you tried to drown your feelings because why the fuck would you fall in love with someone who is still not over their ex? who does not see you in the same light as you see him? you know all of it will bring you only pain, and yet you still can't help but want to be closer to him more. guess you're ready to risk it all just for him.
one day, right after his successful concert, you visited him immediately in his dressing room backstage, holding a boquet of orange and blue flowers to congratulate him. yet, right after you opened the door, all you saw was him and his ex, lips pressed together.
childe immediately saw you and right before he can react, you're already sputtering out apologies and closed the door. he removed his ex's hands on his cheek and chase after you, heart beating so fast and praying to any archon listening to him to catch up to you and clear this misunderstanding. he does not understand why he wants to clear this up to you so bad even though the two of you are only fake dating and his ex, whom he's been yearning for for months, is trying to be back together with him. he does not care about the whys now, all he wants to do is see you and explain that 'it's not what you think' and 'we are not back together'.
you, on the other hand, can't stop the tears streaming down your face as you walk, almost run, away from him as fast as possible.
right after being drove back home, you immediately sobbed on your pillow. you know you should not be acting this way, but it just hurts so bad.
he tried to call you once he failed to catch up with you, only to be met with an unanswered call. he also tried driving towards your place, only to be met with silence and closed door.
he wants to clear this up to you so bad but how when you don't even want to talk to him, let alone see him? he does not understand why he wants to explain to you so bad that she's the one who grabbed his face, the one who pressed their lips together, the one who is begging to be back together once again.
fuck. isn't this what he wanted? to be with her again? yet why can he only see you? why can he only imagine your face when she kissed him? why can he only see a future with you?
why... why... why...
then it hit him. he's so stupid to catch up with his feelings but he finally realizes his, and yours. he loves you. and, well, you would not have acted that way if you did not love him back, right? with a new found hope, he waited, right outside your door, demanding to see you and will not go away, not until you let him explain. he knocked on your door, once, twice, thrice. he stayed there, hoping that you'll let him in, once again, and for real, this time.
you scoffed, thinking that he will be gone in a few hours or so. it's cold outside as winter is approaching. yet, your curiosity got the better of you and you peeked through your curtain later that night. you felt disappointment when you saw that he's no longer standing there even though he did tell that he won't go until you let him in. i mean, you will talk to him right after you deemed he earned it, but you cant help but think that this relationship really is just one sided and you should just let him go. you're about to get ready to end the night when you suddenly saw that he is just sitting against your door and, in fact, still here.
you opened your door immediately, fearing that he will get sick if he stayed out in the cold any longer with no additional layers to warm him up. but, you forgot that he is leaning against it due to you panicking and his head hit the floor.
now, you're standing there while he is looking up at you, a grin plastered on his face not minding the dull ache on his head.
you ushered him inside, scolding him for staying out in the cold, don't he know that he is stupid and he could have gotten sick with what he's doing?
yet all your scolding goes in his one ear and right out the other because he's only focused on how cute you look being worried for him.
"stay there, i'll make a hot chocolate for you. you're cold," you said, going to your kitchen to heat water.
not even a minute later, you felt him wrapped an arm around your waist, hugging you from behind. his chin rested on top of your head, holding you tightly.
"i'm sorry it took me so long..." he starts. you were about to ask him what he's talking about before he turned you around and continued. "what happened earlier, i swear it was nothing. she just grabbed me and kissed me and i swear i don't feel anything for her at all anymore."
"you don't have to explain anything to me..." you murmured, looking down and avoiding his intense gaze. he grabbed your chin and tilted your face so he's looking at your eyes once again.
"please look at me, y/n. i want you to know just how sincere i am for you. i want you to know just how much i love you."
"you... love me?"
"'course i do. im sorry it took me so long to realize how i feel about you but i swear i love you so much."
your eyes pricked with tears and you buried your face on his chest.
"stupid. i love you too, you know?"
"i know."
and you spent the night together with hot chocolates and under warm blankets, content with your newfound feelings for each other.
the next day, rumors started going around that you two broke up because fans captured you leaving his dressing room with tears in your eyes. childe being childe, debunked the rumors by posting a picture of you on top of him, sleeping peacefully with your face buried in his neck while he's smirking at the camera, with the caption:
"still and forever will be together :P"

“Sound campaigns” have been an integral part of music marketing since TikTok took off in 2019, but they differ from other paid promotion campaigns on social media. Captioning a video with #ad, or another similar disclosure, is required by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) when companies “pay you or give you free or discounted products or services” in exchange for featuring their product in a video, but that has never been the standard for the paid promotion of a song. “Any essence of perceived authenticity can be stripped away when a creator tags a video as paid,” says one digital marketing agency CEO.
As a result, one major label marketer believes “75% of popular songs on TikTok started with a creator marketing campaign,” but says that there’s no way to actually track how many of the songs that go viral on TikTok do so organically or are boosted by thousands to hundreds-of-thousands of dollars’ worth of paid promo.
When asked for clarification about whether or not promoting songs in the background of videos requires disclosure, a representative for the FTC said, “While we can’t comment on any particular example, that practice seems somewhat analogous to a product placement… When there are songs playing in the backgrounds of videos, there are no objective claims made about the songs. The video creator may be communicating implicitly that they like the song, but viewers can judge the song themselves when they listen to it playing in the video. For these reasons, it may not be necessary for a video to disclose that the content creator was compensated for using a particular song in the background in the video. We would evaluate each case individually however.”
While it is not, in most cases, an FTC violation to run undisclosed creator campaigns to promote singles on TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts, it remains a little-understood area of music marketing that many music fans are not aware is happening. “The beauty of Tiktok, for me, has disappeared because I’m super cynical and believe everything I see there, disclosed or not, is paid to be promoted,” says the digital marketing agency CEO. (Most of the sources in this story requested anonymity in order to speak freely about how these campaigns work.)
