Omi gets easily distracted while driving and Kimiko experiences terrible road rage, so neither of them are allowed behind the wheel anymore

Clay is technically the best driver on the team, and he's even forklift certified and used to driving things like tractors. He doesn't like the feel of most motorized vehicles though, and vastly prefers the feel of riding something alive like a horse or a dragon, or at least animal-like, like the crouching cougar

Plus, Clay drives responsibly and slowly, in a way that Kimiko and Rai have compared to how an old lady would drive, and in a way that's not really suited for high-speed chases missions often demand

And thus, the monk's usual designated driver is Raimundo by default

i definitely trust you with forklifts infact you are certified in all commercial vehicles. to me

I'm also licensed to drive many commercial vehicles in the state of [STATE]. I've never taken a driver's test. I can't drive.

🚗 CAR — does your oc have a driver's license? can they drive/operate any automobiles/machinery besides cars?

He can drive + has a license, I like to imagine he got it pretty young, maybe around 17 :] he always liked to imagine one day he’d get in his car and just drive as far away from Bright Falls as possible. That never happened.

I don’t think he can operate anything other than a car tbh. It’d be funny if he was forklift certified idk when that would happen but I can see it

💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits?

Light sleeper. His sleep could be a lot better, to be honest. He doesn’t sleep as often as he should, and when he does, he’s easy to wake. He tends to be on guard a lot, even when he doesn’t need to be. Force of habit. When he’s out hunting for Taken in Cauldron Lake, he doesn’t sleep. If he does, he makes sure it’s during daylight hours.

He’s a dog guy I think…… but more specifically I can see him really liking wolves :] follows a bunch of wolf conservation accounts on social media. This definitely extends back to his childhood too I think. I just know he had a shelf of wolf plushies

English and Finnish! He’s fluent in both, but he would consider english to be his first language. He’s always been interested in learning ASL, too.

Cigarette and coffee <3 but for real, he’s not much of a breakfast person. His breakfasts, when he has them, are quick and low effort.

A bit of both? He won't say no to a plan if someone has something laid out, and he appreciates structure where he can find it, but most of what he does is simply going with the flow.

No, actually, putting this on main bc I want to see if anyone weighs in.

Friend is so vehemently anti-car that when we found out that another friend's new job needed him to get a drivers license before he could get forklift certified, he started debating me in the groupchat about how thats a stupid requirement and forklifts are nowhere near as dangerous as cars and this was a sign of a crumbling society, and for me to be saying that given how 99% of adults looking to get forklift certified probably already HAVE their license, this seems like a relatively reasonable requirement, clearly I must have been carpilled and poisoned by society.

Like my brother in christ, I hate cars too, it's been half an hour, and you're now talking about how cars are more dangerous than forklifts like that actually has any bearing on "whether it's reasonable to ask to see proof that someone can handle the most common type of heavy machinery before training them on a specialty type of heavy machinery".

I'm admin of the discord so I just deleted the whole damned thing and told everyone shows over go home, but god. That guy needs therapy for more issues than one, but I think we might have to add "irrational hatred of cars" to the list.

To be clear, I also think cars are a scourge of society and we need more walkable cities and public transport to the extent that cars become a "special trip out of town" or "moving a bunch of stuff" item, but i swear he's dogwhistled on the idea that in his eyes, anytime someone uses a car they're like, actively contributing to the fall of democracy or something.

nathan has a driver's license and he is very good at driving too! but also he is insane on the road and he has very little to live for so if you cut him off in traffic or bother him in any way he can and will kill you both. he will get in a car crash just to prove a point if his buttons have been pushed too much

he's technically also forklift certified since he had to do the training to be allowed to work in mobius' warehouses :]

📚 BOOKS — what level of education has your oc most recently completed/is currently in (GED, undergraduate, grad school, phd, etc)?

nathan dropped out of high school after killing his parents at age 16 and was dragged into mobius instead, leaving him without a high school diploma. this however doesn't mean much since he did continue learning and teaching himself many things after dropping out, including many coding languages, and a lot more math, science, physics, and biology. all of this was necessary for him to eventually become lead developer of mobius' improved STEM device

🐈 CAT — does your oc prefer a wide circle of friends or a few close friends?

for the longest time, nathan didn't really think he had any friends, not seeing himself as worthy enough and thinking people generally disliked him. nowadays he's a lot more aware that people do in fact like him and his company and he's allowing people in more, but still prefers to have only a select few friends; he needs to be able to trust people which is very difficult for him to begin with, so warming up to others takes very long for him and to be able to call someone his friend is a very very big step for him

💚 GREEN HEART — does your oc prefer being inside or outside?

nathan generally prefers being inside but specifically just his apartment. the outside world is often too overwhelming for him and he hates having to expose himself to it; but at the same time he really likes being out with friends, visiting their places, going out for food, hanging out in the park, etc etc. it's difficult for him to push himself far enough to do all those things, but he generally feels a lot better having done that than staying at home all day

💙 BLUE HEART — does your oc have any cool/special powers and/or abilities? how are they with magic, if it exists in their world?

so as established in the games, certain individuals are able to control and manipulate the environment within a STEM environment (if you're not familar with the games it's essentially a sort of dream-like experience with minds of people linked together; a multiplayer dream within someone's mind if you will). it's essentially corruption of the technology allowing these people to gain special powers; but it doesn't happen to everyone, since the natural erosion process of the mind mostly just turns people into zombie-like creatures in there

nathan is one of the people to get special abilities from it however, but he is VERY good at masking it and generally doesn't use these powers because he doesn't want to let himself turn into a monster like what STEM did to ruvik, or stefano, or theodore, or myra. if he WERE to use his powers more however, they would mostly give him super strength and the ability to teleport forward in short bursts. he wouldn't turn into some sort of super monster like how myra turns into the matriarch in tew2 (google it, the design is AMAZING) but instead would remain very close to how he is in combat when he IS in control of himself, but he's just a lot more insane about it, which is very close to his fear of himself becoming a mindless killing machine in real life as well because of spiraling too much

Surprisingly, the only oc of mine to not know how to drive is Hunter. With how he grew up, it just wasn't necessary for him to learn! The rest of them aren't licensed in any other machinery. Though in my heart Emil is forklift certified

June is a homebody to the fullest extent of the word. Living in a town full of tourist traps, she gets turned off from advertisements telling her to go to similar locations.

Carolyn's favorite hobbies include: Fishing, gardening, and writing poetry! She's a lot more shy about her writing compared to her other hobbies though!

Emil has had a couple of tattoos done! One is a small stick n poke from his teens, a very cliche broken heart on his left wrist. The other one was actually done in a tattoo parlor; a green 1-up mushroom from the Mario franchise on the right side of his chest

Whereas Maggie and Hunter couldn't finish college, Carolyn and June are the ones with degrees.

Carolyn has a bachelor's degree in fine arts and June has a DNP, which is a doctorate that would allow her to practice nursing!

When Maggie was younger, she used to play the acoustic guitar as a hobby. Very intermediate player. Though as she grew up, she eventually stopped practicing and abandoned the instrument altogether. If she went up to the attic to retrieve it, she could probably only play a scale and that's it.

Though if we want any specifics on their preferred weapon: Maggie has a baseball bat, Emil uses his grandfather's pocket knife, Hunter uses a pair of scissors, and June keeps a shotgun and an axe in her home.

Maggie has been a chainsmoker since she was 13/14. A bad habit her mother instilled in her. Although she's loosened up over the years, she tends to have a cigarette when she's feeling nervous.

monroe got his license as soon as he could, when he was around 17, with encouragement and help from his older brother. his first car was something really dinky and kind of shitty, but it was cheap and it was his, and he loved it. it was unfortunately a causality of RC. I can honestly see him being forklift certified LMAO mainly because I think its funny but also he's had a LOT of jobs over the years

he's had basic firearm training thanks to chris, after they reunited post RC incident, and he's also taken himself to the gun range a good few times, to keep himself sharp, just incase. he's not awful with a gun, but he hates using them. when RC happened, his main weapon of choice was a pipe, which thankfully, didn't require much training to use.

it's taken him a long time to realise this, but the most important thing to him is the life he has now. the freedom and relative safety and happiness. recently, he's felt like he's taken his life for granted, so he's been trying to be more grateful for all he has now that he thought he never would have. the most important person to him in the world is Merel, without a doubt. he would do anything for her, and he would go through it all again in the blink of an eye.

🍝 SPAGHETTI — what is/are your oc's favorite food(s)?

he likes fast food. its his kryptonite. it's mostly habit — he's spent a lot of time depressed and not taking the best care of himself, and fast food is the easiest way to keep himself fed. the thing is, he's a pretty decent cook and an even better baker, but he doesn't often have the energy to make big, homemade meals.

no more than the regular person, I wouldn't say. I imagine being an avid drinker for 20 years hasn't been great for his health, but thankfully, he's not prone to bouts of sickness.

they don't officially have a license, given they're not a 'real' person, but they can drive. it's been ages since i played book 2 as them, but i think they have a motorbike too?? i need to brush up

yes, multiple. guns and knives is what they were trained with at the farm, and what they used the most often when on missions for them. funnily enough, their aim with guns is not great, which is why they relied so much on their telepathy to read surface thoughts and intentions in hand to hand combat while as sidestep. their new suit (if you count it as one) is without a doubt their favorite weapon they've ever used.
