My beloved @redsixwing has found and resurrected a prime source of Gundam Wing lore that I was certain had been lost to the sands of time and internet domain obsoletion-- AboutGundamWing.com, thus saving my whole entire goddamn ass. Sixwing, I owe you my life. And my ass. And my ass's life.

I was devastated to discover that it had gone offline when I was compiling sources for this blog, forgetting in my despair that the WAYBACKMACHINE EXISTS to alleviate this very problem!!

AGW had the only source I've ever seen with three different script comparisons for the series. They put together the best and most comprehensive timeline of GW events (pre-Frozen Teardrop) I've seen yet (I'm delighted to discover that the authors had a similar view of classifying canon back in 2007 as myself). It's got a complete glossary of terms, characters, locations, and miscellaneous tech used throughout the series (something I deeply appreciate because I'm obsessed with taking screencaps of all that stuff for my own reference).

some housekeeping !!

i have decided to create a sideblog for reblogging anything not related to sims, sim stories, or gaming (bc if i turned this blog into just a simblr i'd explode i think)

Housekeeping Post

I mentioned a while back that I would be splitting the social media updates tag in two, one for staff/official account updates and one for cast updates. I've completed going through the 300-and-some posts that were in the tag at the time and back-updated everything.

I also mentioned that I would was separating the fanmeet tag by each tour stop. This is done, I just need to go through and add each fanmeet to the timeline. (The general fanmeet tag is still there)

Speaking of the timeline, I reached the limit in number of bullet points allowed per post segment (which I was not aware existed until now), so I had to split it up by year, which is probably more legible anyways. It's likely only a matter of time before it grows long enough to need to be behind a cut, but I'm loathe to do so bc I use it as reference on a regular basis when tagging or dating old events, and I'd rather not have to add an extra click. But it is getting to be a long post.

Y'all may have noticed that I've started tagging posts by month and year. This is to provide a more cohesive idea of the timeline that includes social media posts that aren't tied to a particular event, and to allow people to look at everything from a particular month rather than clicking through individual event tags. Of course, this means I have the work of back-updating the tags, which is easy to do in bulk for event tags, but more time consuming for the social media posts bc I have to do those manually.

As far as archiving goes, I am making more targeted progress on archiving old 2023 posts and have made it through at least half of the year on twitter.

I've come across a lot of IG stories from the Pit Babe workshop last year that I will wait to post, since we're at a point rn where it will jumpscare anyone that does not see this post into thinking that Pit Babe 2 workshops have started. But I've gone ahead and drafted all of it so that it's at least saved. I'm trying to outpace the rate at which things are disappearing off twitter, but we'll see how far I get.

A note on future posts:

As previously mentioned, I will be tagging any Pit Babe 2 Workshop or Filming posts as "#pit babe 2 workshop" and "#pit babe 2 filming"

Any Pit Babe 2 posts will be tagged pit babe 2.

It usually takes me a day or two to get into a new tagging habit, so whenever s2 does start filming, please bear with me if I miss a few posts. I will try my best to keep from spoiling people who don't want it, but I do mess up sometimes.

Things I will NOT rate on this blog:

Ship content. It doesn't matter the ship. I (the mod, not the Founder persona— though, honestly, this goes for them too) am squicked by basically all ships involving any member of any of the core 3 Dominion species. This isn't a value judgement— on the contrary, it's me acknowledging that I really, really don't want to rate someone's OTP as "Not Cute!" and ruin their fun. You're entitled to your ships. I don't want to rate them, but you're entitled to them.

Anything with a Vorta in Starfleet/allied with the Federation, unless I know you well enough to know we're aligned in our opinions on the matter. This isn't because I think they're better off in the Dominion (though Founder Mod certainly does), but because I'm critical of the Federation as an assimilationist power and I don't like the way a lot of stories about Starfleet Vorta portray joining the Federation as a sign of improvement and recovery. Again, this rule is mostly for your sake. I don't wanna "Not Cute!" someone's beloved OC, no matter how little I like the concept. That would just be incredibly rude of me, and I'm here to have fun and talk about headcanons, not harass people over making creative decisions I wouldn't have made.

Honestly, recovery/deprogramming focused content in general. I am a survivor of institutional and religious abuse and I have very specific opinions about how the aftermath of leaving a high-control environment should be written. Those opinions don't belong on this blog. Also, Founder Mod would not approve and I consider staying in character to be a sacred obligation.

Death scenes. Every "Vorta love to die violently it's like enrichment to them" joke that can be made has already been made, and it's not my sense of humor anyway.

LITTLE HOUSEKEEPING POST

This is a 18+ only writing blog. I don't want to interact with minors even when I am writing SFW stuff. Some new people have started following me (hi and welcome!!!), I didn't have the time to check whether or not they are ageless blog or spam. For this reason I will do some checking and, if you don't have your age in your blog or your blog looks like a spam blog, I will block you.

Grabbed some watercolor paints to add to the options for art, but I'm gonna practice for a while before I actually offer commissions with it. I'll post the results for free here!

Ah dang, it's November already? Incredible. Very inconsiderate of linear time to keep progressing this way.

Anyway, this blog will continue to be slow for a while; I got hit with two devastating back-to-back family losses and then immediately afterwards got sick. So, mental energy reserves at the moment are pretty tapped. Which is very frustrating! because I know exactly what I want to write but I have no juice in the tank to write it. Instead I have been drawing blorbo self care.

On the other hand, I've been doing a lot of informative background reading; Radetzky March by Joseph Roth, Der Rote Kampflieger and a early aviation history stuff, a lot of essays. Plus, I've been catching up with the original U.C. Gundam timeline, which I've been meaning to do since FOREVER. All good things to put in the brain that happen to be tangentially related to GW, for the fixation must feed.

Every time I see new notes and commentary on here I am filled with delight and excitement that people are actually finding my stuff even when I'm not posting. I am also predictably consumed with anxiety about all my less polished entries, frantically editing things behind the scenes knowing full well that this is a futile endeavor for the mistakes have already been immortalized in reblogs... Such is the way.

I hope those who partake had a magnificent Halloween, and that the rest of the year will be kind to you. I know the world is especially violent at present.

For November, have an especially goofy looking Scorpio from the Chartres Cathedral. Look at this idiot. Even his tail looks disappointed.

Not at the moment; I'm trying not to commit and then drop the project when I get bored, and at the moment tagging and queuing submissions is doable for me--but if anyone wants to do a new one for dreamwidth that'd be awesome.

The number of threads I have across all my muses impacts how many new ones I'm willing to pick up. Julius has several that haven't gotten replies in a while, so I'm going to be a bit strict with the 3-month clause and put deadlines on some old threads.

Housekeeping Post

Finally had some time this month to work on archival stuff, so there's been a few updates:

I'd previously labeled the April 1, 2023 event as a Boys Journey event, since there was a Boys Journey tag attached to those posts on twt, but after looking closer at the event, it's obviously a completely different thing, so that tag/timeline name has been changed to April 2023 Music Festival (the name of the festival doesn't translate well)

The Pit Babe presscon and TLDHLB presscon posts have been divided into separate tags

I'm slowly working on adding separate tags for each of the Pit Babe fanmeet stops, emphasis on slowly

On the timeline, the Pit Babe fanmeet tour has been changed from ending in August to ending in September, since the Cambodia stop was pushed back

the Pit Babe Blessing Ceremony tag has been switched to English

Pit Babe bts posts have all been tagged with "pit babe filming"

The P'Aoi and P'Chod 2023 and 2024 tours have been added to the timeline under a bulk tag

I have started tagging preview stills and clips for This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans with "tldhlb previews" in case anyone would like to mute those posts

A note on future posts:

Pit Babe 2 workshop posts and filming posts will be tagged as "pit babe 2 workshop" and "pit babe 2 filming," just to avoid any potential confusion because there's still a lot of bts content from s1 that hasn't been uploaded yet.

I do not plan on double tagging everything Pit Babe 2 related as both "pit babe/pit babe the series" and "pit babe 2," just for my sanity's sake

I'm considering separating the "social media update" tag into updates from BenzGarfield and updates from staff/official accounts, but that will take some work, as there are currently *checks notes* 260 posts in that tag

Anyways, July has been very busy for the boys. Including the Praew Talk tomorrow, they'll have had 13 different schedules (some on the same day, some unpublished as of yet), which is by far the most they've ever had in a single month.
