Fire Damaged Homes For Sale
Unlocking The True Worth: How To Determine The Value Of A Fire-Damaged Property
Selling a fire damaged property can be a challenging task, especially when it comes to determining its value. Understanding the factors that influence the worth of a fire-damaged home is essential for making informed decisions. Here's a guide to help you navigate this complex situation.
Tumblr media
Understanding Fire Damage
Fire damage can vary significantly from one property to another. Some homes may have only minor smoke damage, while others might be severely compromised structurally.
To determine the value of a fire-damaged property, you'll need to assess the extent of the damage. This includes looking at both visible damage, such as burned walls and floors, and hidden issues, like smoke infiltration in walls and ceilings.
Get a Professional Assessment
One of the best ways to gauge the value of a fire-damaged property is to hire a professional appraiser. An appraiser can provide an unbiased evaluation, taking into account the type and extent of damage and current market conditions.
They will help you understand how much the fire damage has impacted the property's value compared to similar homes in the area.
Consider Repair Costs
Another critical factor in determining the value of a fire-damaged home is the cost of repairs. Depending on the severity of the damage, repair costs can range from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands.
It's vital to get estimates from contractors who specialize in fire damage restoration. These estimates will help you understand how much money you may need to invest in the property before it can be sold at market value.

Evaluate the Market
The real estate market plays a significant role in valuing any property, including those with fire damage. Research the local market to see how similar properties are being priced.
Look for homes that have recently sold in your area and those currently on the market. This will give you a clearer picture of what buyers are willing to pay for fire-damaged homes.
Disclose Fire Damage
When selling a fire-damaged property, being transparent about the damage is crucial. Most states, including Tennessee, require sellers to disclose any known defects or issues with the property.
Being upfront about the fire damage can help you avoid legal complications down the road and build trust with potential buyers.
Factor in Emotional Impact
Selling a fire-damaged home isn't just about numbers; it can also involve emotional considerations. Homeowners may feel attached to their properties, making the valuation process more challenging.
Understanding the emotional toll of the damage can help you approach the sale with the right mindset, allowing for more rational decision-making.
Explore Selling Options
You have several options when it comes to selling a fire-damaged property. You can choose to sell it as-is, which may attract cash buyers looking for a bargain.
Alternatively, you could invest in repairs to improve its market value. Each option has pros and cons, so weigh them carefully based on your circumstances.
Final Thoughts
Determining the value of a fire-damaged property requires a careful evaluation of multiple factors, including the extent of damage, repair costs, land value, insurance coverage, and market trends.
Whether you choose to restore the property or sell fire damaged homes for sale, understanding these elements will help you make an informed decision.
For homeowners, investors, or buyers, fire-damaged properties can present unique challenges but also opportunities when approached with the right knowledge and strategy.

The thing is, being a fan of House Targaryen is way more fun once you allow them to be the tyrannical villain/anti hero dynasty. Trying to justify everything these inbred silver hair purple eyed weridos did is so boring. Like nah those are my villains and I love that about them.

hot take maybe but the only reason most show runners/producers/writers/etc. age up the (female) characters from book to show adaptation is to overtly sexualize them and not face mass amounts of scrutiny for it.
put 13 year old daenerys next to 30 year old drogo and the audience understands that daenerys is a victim to him and not an equal. put 22 year old emilia clarke as daenerys next to 32 year old jason mamoa as drogo and they’re seen as a budding romance with a tragic ending (by the general audience) due to their on screen chemistry.
flash forward to today, and now we’re dealing with 21 year old milly alcock playing rhaenyra from 14-19 and how her relationship with (28 year old fabien) a mid twenties criston is seen as -morally acceptable- and not a result of a degenerate pedophile taking advantage of and grooming his charge. “ser criston protects the princess from her enemies, but who protects the princess from ser criston?” rhaenyra was 14 when rumors started speculating that she slept with an almost 30 year old criston. a criston who had know her since she was 8 and had been her sworn shield since she was 9. obviously seeing a teenager in the early stages of puberty next to a fully grown man would emphasize rhaenyra being THE victim, as opposed to the show having an 18-19 year old explore her sexuality and seek out ‘consensual’ sex with her peer bodyguard. the discourse has even reached the point where certain stans try to paint the much younger woman as the perpetrator and aggressor of this event, who forced the unassuming man into having sex with her.
i’ll even take this a step farther, and bring up how if they had shown a 19 year old alicent abusing a 10 year old rhaenyra it would be identified and mutually agreed upon as a reprehensible act on alicent’s part. instead they’re of similar age, so people can attempt to paint the picture as two women of equal standing hating each other, and not a much older woman bullying a motherless child. once again however, some stans even go so far as to try and paint alicent as a victim of rhaenyra, and not the other way around. further cementing this is how both versions of alicent are younger than both versions of rhaenyra, AND how criston is still played by an actor who is younger than older!rhaenyra despite his character being the same age as daemon in canon.
they know exactly what they’re doing too, considering they aged alicent down to give her that innate compassion one typically feels when seeing children being abused on tv (something that can no longer be applied to rhaenyra). despite that never being her story; *she* was the abuser, and rhaenyra was her victim. criston’s victim. it’s a nasty cop out, and i wish more people would call out how sickening it is to flip the switch and attempt to make abusive individuals more sympathetic than the *actual* victims of said abusers.

minor fire and blood spoilers:
ik fire and blood is meant to be ambiguous at points but there's no way people actually believe daemon didn't have an affair with nettles just because "he treated her like a daughter" considering this is the same man that had an affair with his teenage niece. they were having fucking baths together like come on 😭
daemon saw himself as her father- HE MARRIED. HIS NIECE.

The people have spoken! The weird dynamic between Aemond and Alicent is indeed an accidental portrayal of parentification resulting from the writers trying to use the "Oedipus complex" and broad undefined "mother issues" to set up his relationship with Alys.
The casting does not help though. Or rather... it does help.
Original question:
Honestly unsure about how much credit we should be giving the writers. For anything. But let's start with this: Are they the ultimate case of parentification or is the casting just really weird?
Tumblr media
I mean he looks older than her. These actors are only 3 years apart playing mother and son.
OR is it just the writers who don't really know what they're doing stumbling into writing an actual real-life dynamic that makes sense, but it's only an accidental side-effect from trying to use broad, undefined "mother issues" and the Oedipus complex to set up his relationship with Alys Rivers?

You guys are always yapping about how Criston Cole is Rhaenyra’s victim. Even though the show contradicts you on this point many times. Even though the producers contradict you on this point repeatedly.
However, no one wants to reckon with the fact that those men took a tale about a misogynistic paedophile and the child he groomed and isolated and then turned his child victim into the initiator/aggressor.
It’s par for the course with the adaptors. We watched it happen with Dany and Jorah, Doreah and Xaro Xhoan Daxos, Loras Tyrell and the homophobic way they adapted his story. The racist, heavily sexualised way they adapted the sand snakes and Ellaria Sand. I had hoped the fandom would know better by now but alas!

Team Green seem to come up with some of the most unhinged and dumb takes ever. Many of them seem to think that mothering three children with a man who wasn’t her husband is one of the worst crimes ever. Yet they will excuse things that Criston, Alicent, Aegon, and Aemond do even though all of their crimes are so much worse than Rhaenyra finding a way to have children.

My biggest gripe with how HOTD writers depict women is how they’re never allowed to showcase their anger and bitterness at their circumstances in full. We know it’s there, we see Alicent’s frustration about loosing the kingdom’s regency to a unstable nineteen year old, but she’s never allowed to fully express it (the closest we got was her outburst when Aemond lost his eye, and she was made to regret it directly afterwards). Her role in Rhaenyra’s usurpation isn’t born out of a desire to have what she believes is her due after years of withering away and suffering as Viserys’ wife, but as a desire to carry on what she believes to be her husband’s wishes.
When it comes to Rhaenys, since last week I’ve seen a lot of speculation on why she decided to turn back to fight Aemond and Vaghar, because in the show she has no reason to do so. The thing about Rhaenys’ story, at least how I understood it in F&B, is that she always seems to be holding back. It is one thing for her to say to Corlys that she doesn’t resent the fact that she lost the throne to Viserys and another to actually mean it, because if she (allegedly) lost fairly to Viserys, how could she in good conscience initiate a war? How could she inflict that on her whole family? So she holds back. And she doesn’t have to like Rhaenyra, but watching the same thing that happened to her repeat itself must be frustrating. Watching Rhaenyra be expected to give up her crown for the sake of maintaining the peace without her half-brother having the same expectation placed upon him must be painful. So she should want to encourage Rhaenyra to fight for the throne this time, she should want to turn back to fight those greedy, stupid boys playing at war, who could never understand her pain. She should want to show Baela and Rhaena that it is possible to fight back; she might not be able to save them or shield them or get them what she believes they deserve, but at least she can show them that they don’t have to take on their circumstances passively. They can fight back.
Or at least that’s how I would have written Rhaenys, anyways.

I want to write an essay on "benevolent misogyny" in media and fandom.
I was going to mainly reference Harley Quinn and Alicent Hightower (and Cheryl Blossom a bit), but I realized it goes past UWUifying female villains and antagonists. This is done to any kind of female character.
A perfect example is Dinah from Starlight Express. I'll save it for the essay, but I have an entire tag of rants on my StEx blog explaining my frustration with this to give you an idea.
If you have any other examples (villain or not), please suggest them, and I may mention them in the essay.

Just because the show didn't understand what it was showing on screen was rape, doesn't make it suddenly not actually rape. You don't get to pick and choose your rape victims based on who you like or don't like.
