Video: 2024 Volkswagen Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition: A Game Changer! https://youtu.be/0P4AQQTIQA8 The Volkswagen Jetta GLI sport sedan turns 40 for the 2024 model year, and VW is celebrating this milestone with a special anniversary edition. With unique styling details and limited availability, the 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition commemorates the rich heritage of this iconic performance sedan. Introduced for the 1984 model year, the Jetta GLI took the GTI's sporty formula of a spunky turbocharged engine, precision handling and premium interior, and packaged it into an affordable German family sedan. This novel combination proved a hit with enthusiasts seeking practicality and driving fun. The seventh-generation Jetta GLI continues to offer an enticing mix of power and utility. Now the limited-run 40th Anniversary Edition adds exclusivity to the tried-and-true GLI recipe. Let's take a closer look at this special commemoratory model. Overview of the 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition Volkswagen is building just 1,984 examples of the 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition for the North American market, nodding to the year 1984 when the first Jetta GLI arrived. With unique cosmetic touches inside and out, along with 40th Anniversary badging, this special edition celebrates four decades of the Jetta's upscale and sporty variant. Under the skin, the Anniversary Edition shares its mechanical components with the standard 2024 Jetta GLI. Motivation comes from the familiar 2.0-liter EA888 turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder pumping out 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices include a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automated (DSG). While VW could have added some performance upgrades to mark the occasion, the focus of the 40th Anniversary model is on unique styling and collectability. Only available for a single model year, this marks the first time VW has celebrated the Jetta GLI's legacy with a special edition. 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Edition Engine, Performance and Transmission The 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition features the latest version of VW's 2.0-liter EA888 turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, carried over from the standard 2024 GLI. This proven powerplant generates 228 horsepower at 4,700 RPM and 258 lb-ft of torque from just 1,500 RPM. This ample low-end torque combines with a responsive turbocharger to deliver strong acceleration off the line and confident passing power, while the broad power band maintains pull throughout the rev range. Drivers can choose between a precise 6-speed manual gearbox or the optional 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automated transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters. In performance testing, Car & Driver recorded a 0-60 mph time of 6.4 seconds for a manual-equipped GLI, which should carry over to the 40th Anniversary model. While not breaking any land speed records, this hot sedan provides a satisfying blend of power and efficiency. 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Edition Exterior Design and Styling The 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition gains several unique styling treatments to celebrate four decades of the model. Only three exterior colors are offered: Pure Gray, Pure White or Rising Blue. Blacked out trim around the grille, window surrounds and badging provides contrast against the exterior paint. Red accent lines feature throughout the exterior, and 40th Anniversary badges adorn the front fenders and hatch lid. Rounding out the look are 18-inch black alloy wheels. These styling enhancements give the Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary a distinctive, sporty personality. For a limited edition commemorative model, the darkened accents highlight the GLI's athletic character and rich 40-year racing pedigree. 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Edition Interior Features and Technologies Inside the 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition, unique trim elements highlight the special edition status.
Sport front seats feature embroidered 40th Anniversary tags. Red accent stitching provides a distinctive contrast, while seat fabric displays a one-of-a-kind molecular design. Front door sills are illuminated with "GLI 40" projection lights. The D-shaped steering wheel has a race-inspired "40" logo on the bottom spoke. Red stitching and "GLI 40" badges remind occupants of this model's collectability. In a nod to enthusiasts, the 40th Anniversary Edition skips the Autobahn package's leather seating, sunroof and premium audio upgrades in favor of weight savings. Heated front seats are still included to provide comfort. Standard tech features carry over such as Volkswagen's excellent 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Edition Pricing, Trims and Value Volkswagen has priced the 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition quite competitively, especially considering its limited production run and exclusive details. The starting MSRP comes in at $29,315 for the manual transmission and $30,115 for the DSG automatic. That undercuts the pricing of a standard 2023 Jetta GLI Autobahn by around $3,000. And you still get a nicely equipped special edition with unique anniversary styling that will only appreciate in collectability over time. For driving enthusiasts on a budget, it's an opportunity not to be missed. 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Edition Handling, Steering and Suspension As an anniversary model celebrating the Jetta GLI's sporting capabilities, the 40th Edition retains the standard model's honed chassis and suspension components. The retuned front strut and rear multilink suspension provides flatter cornering and improved body control compared to a base Jetta. Electric power steering offers line. While not upgraded, the braking system delivers strong stopping power with 13.4 inch vented front discs. Sticky summer performance tires can be added as an option to maximize grip. Combined with GLI-tuned driving mode profiles, this special edition retains the agile handling that has defined the model for 40 years. 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Edition Fuel Economy Estimates The 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Anniversary Edition inherits the fuel efficiency of the standard GLI, meaning expect 25 mpg city, 32 highway and 28 mpg combined per EPA estimates. This efficiency comes courtesy of the turbocharged engine, precise direct injection system, and standard engine start-stop capability. With a 13.2-gallon fuel tank, the 40th Anniversary Edition can cover over 350 miles between fill-ups, providing substantial cruising range for road trips. For a performance model, these numbers are quite reasonable, as the turbo-4 balances both power and efficiency. Better mileage means lower operating costs. 2024 Jetta GLI 40th Edition Reliability and Owner Satisfaction Volkswagen models traditionally score well for reliability and owner satisfaction, and the Jetta GLI is no exception. The EA888 2.0-liter turbo engine has proved robust over many years and miles, requiring just basic maintenance. The 7-speed DSG gearbox is also smooth and durable in most cases. Owner reviews praise the Jetta GLI's premium interior materials, upscale tech features, and of course, gratifying performance. The excellent balance of sporty driving dynamics and daily livability makes satisfied owners. VW's excellent 6-year/72,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty provides significant peace of mind. Cobra Hybrid! Yukhei/ fighter AU
Warnings: pussy eating, breeding kink, competitive fighting, bl**d, mentions of open wounds, eagle hybrid Xiaojun, scorpion hybrid Hendery, minor mentions of getting high, angst, mentions of near death experiences, fluff bc Xuxi loves u an unhealthy amount
The sky outside of your bedrooms hopper window is scattered with rich hues of deep violet and burgundy, a sight that is too captivating to not sit and admire for at least a moment while your food cools off on your beside table.
You've always been particular about the temperature, needing it hot enough to burn your palms but not the surface of your tongue.
You smile warmly to yourself as you think of Yukhei, the way he can practically scarf anything down no matter the heat. You've had to physically stop him from inhaling piping hot ramen quite a few times, though he never listens. "Its okay, promise!I like when it's hot!"
Stubborn boy.
The colors above seem to dissipate by the second into shades that better suit the nighttime hour, not even a quarter of the sun peeking from below the horizon as the city below continues to buzz with work commutes, or perhaps lovers that are eager to be in the same space their partners occupy.
You sigh ruefully, knowing that it's just your suboncious missing a certain doe eyed, raven haired boy.
It hasn't even been two days since you last saw eachother, the navy blue sweatshirt that he wore over still hanging off the corner of your dresser, the scent of patchouli and cedarwood clinging to the fabric.
Your fingers reach out to undo the latch that keeps your window closed, the cool, dusk air gentle against your cheeks.
You know you shouldn't worry about him, he's with Hendery and Xiaojun and the others and they're all celebrating YangYang's birthday in his uncles house near Shenzhen.
At least that's what his last message said, and truly, you're not one to be overly nosey or obsessive. But the thought of Yukhei, your Yukhei, back in that poisonous red ring with barbarous eyes latched onto his body, eager for his blood to spill across the white floor-
You feel your throat tighten at the thought, eyes closing as you inhale through your nose, the air not as thick with smog this time of year and allowing for at least somewhat of a peace of mind.
You find the juxtaposition to the outside world, and the world that lies below the boutiques and indie music shops and niche cafes, to be sardonically humorous.
It makes sense, strangely, that the evil and greed that people possess would no doubt be thrumming with a life of its own in the hybrid world, even more so than that of the human world, sometimes.
And for hybrids like Yukhei, the ones with a little more strength, a little more aggression once the animal that coexists with their dna is provoked, for a king cobra; merchants practically frothed at the mouth when your boyfriend put himself up for rivalry.
It was the last thing he ever wanted to do, and not just because the clubs usually smelled of dry blood and spit among other noxious substances, or because of the fact that his body felt as if it had been hit by a train every morning when he awoke.
It's because of how you sobbed when you found out. Your eyes and nose raw with the fury in which you had rubbed them, your body shaking. It hurt more than anything, more than a fierce kick to the jaw or a pair of canines ripping into the flesh of his shoulder.
It was agoninzing, almost more so than the fact that he had to do it in order to pay off some stupid, futile debt that he owed.
It was a nefarious fox hybrid who helped him out of an almost brawl at a club downtown during the time he worked there, fixing drinks sometimes, or lending a hand in securing the canvas and apron that was needed for the fighting ring.
It was easy work for him, and he needed the money if he wanted to get through school by even a little, but the people who occupy spaces like that, they weren't too keen on a snake hybrid being allowed in during daytime hours; helping or not.
It was just a bigheaded bull, a new bartender who caught a glimpse of the few iridescent scales that gleamed acrosss the expanse of his shoulder blade, and before he could even smell the unprompted vexation wafting off of the hulking man- he was thrown across the room.
He was nearly impaled on the bar top, nearly. Though the fox jumped in almost too eagerly after the bull busted your boyfriend's top lip open, introducing himself as the owner and kicking the aggressor off of Yukhei after professing his status.
As far as the story goes, the owner was still quite upset at the fact that two bottles of expensive liquor had been busted and wasted in the whole debacle, news to Yukhei since he had been, well, fearing for the safety of his face due to the close proximity of six inch horns.
So, it was lose a decent job and have no other options left as such a reclusive breed, or use his strengths to his advantage.
You shudder everytime you think of the ladder. Nothing prepared you for hearing that from Xiaojun's mouth, for seeing him look so weak, so close to the brink of deterioration. He looked broken.
Your noodles are cold now, and you curse yourself for allowing your thoughts to wander off to a place so unnecessary to revisit.
You're too tired to heat them back up, moving from your window sill to your quaint, welcoming bed. You peel the thick comforter back and nestle yourself into the warmth, grabbing your old (but still functioning) laptop in hopes of finding something new to watch on netflix. You have too much of a habitual personality to start a new t.v. show, but a movie might suffice.
It's hard to focus your attention elsewhere, to not to think of him. He's the type of person that you can't ever get used to seeing upclose, so effortlessly beautiful it's almost painful, an ache in the pit of your chest.
Maybe that's silly to say, but it's not jusy because you're sickeningly in love with him. It's this force that he carries with him, like he's made of pure, raw sunlight.
You close your eyes for a moment, picturing the way his plush lips feel against yours when he smiles into a kiss, noses touching and giggles resonating in his throat as you play with the wild strands of his perpetually fluffy hair.
You think of all the things that make him inherently him. His hands, the way they always seem to be steady and gentle, elegant, despite their size. Even when he caresses your cheek with the back of his knuckles, it's featherlight.
It's in his nature to be so agile, so stealthy in his movements. You sometimes forget he's a snake hybrid at all, his outside appearance similar to a lion shifter, or a wolf.
It's probably the most unobvious thing about him, unless he were to take his clothes off and reveal the miscellaneous littering of scales across his broad back and shoulders.
They're similar to his eyes in the way that they're usually onyx until they glimmer under light, ranging from shades of dazzling silver to veridian. You think of the way he hums in satisfaction everytime you run your fingertips along the surface, eyes captivated with wonder.
You jolt in surprise as your phone rings obnoxiously loud, your eyebrows furrowed in annoyance at the prospect of your pleasant thoughts being so rudely interrupted. Your indignation vanishes when you see the caller ID.
Hendery 🦂 is calling...
"Hello?" Your voice is neutral for the most part, the rational side of your mind trying not to panick so suddenly.
That doesn't last long once you hear the troubled pang in the hybrids voice, the hairs on the back of your neck standing straight up.
"Hey, uh- I'm sorry, I'm so fucking sorry to have to- look Yukhei is hurt-" You're sure all the blood in your body has suddenly been drained, stomach twisting as the words fly from Hendery's mouth. "We can't go to the hospital, Yangyang isn't with us and-"
This can't be happening. Not again. Who lied? Did they all lie?
"Is it the same club?" The stillness in your voice is unsettling, though you're pretty sure you might be going into shock at this point. You can't feel your limbs properly.
"Yes." He replies bleakly, and your fingers tremble as they end the call.
Tumblr media
It's like you knew, you always know. There's something about being with Yukhei that has given you a sort of second sense, it's like knowing when a step is missing and you're about to trip.
You know you're going well over the speed limit, skin pulled fiercly over your knuckles with the force in which you're gripping the steering wheel. You're only aware you're crying when streaks of warmth cascade down your cheeks and soak into Yukhei's sweatshirt that you threw on before leaving.
You never wanted to be back here, navigating the slim dark streets to find that familiar, seemingly abandoned building with a simple red logo spray painted on the side. It can only be understood by hybrids, humans not able to translate.
The building is tucked so far back behind the city, it makes for an incredibly unpleasant journey, along with an already unpleasant destination. It's a dark corner in a place full of light. It's the door to a shadow world, to the creatures that find comfort in malice and anguish.
You're surprised you've arrived so fast, not even aware of the strange, curious glances you've been getting by passerbys. No doubt wondering what a little human girl is doing in one of the most dangerous, underground parts of the city.
But they can't touch you, not legally anyways. It's forbidden for hybrids to harm humans, and none of them would dare risk exposing their little side show for a taste of a mundane.
It's Xiaojun you spot first, his conspicuous head of nearly white hair sticking out like a sore thumb amongst the darkness of the alleyway. It's only as you approach that you can see he's slumped under the weight of Yukhei, who's figure is akin to a wilting flower.
You feel your stomach lurch, though adrenaline is what drives you to throw yourself out of the car like a madman, leaving the door open and all to run to his side. You share a brief glance with a wide eyed Hendery, gesturing towards the car as your knees scrape fiercly against the pavement.
You almost don't want to look at him completely, gaze set on Xiaojun as you round to the other side and slip yourself underneath Yukhei's heavy arm. You can't, however, ignore the blood that sticks to your skin, nor the scent of it clinging to him. He murmurs your name with a strained cry, your knees wobbling.
It's a complete blur, happening in what you guess is only about two to three minutes. Yukhei slurs his words as you and the blonde haired hybrid hoist him up with all your strength, agonized groans bellowing from his throat while you move him to the back seat.
You help to manuever his long legs into the car, every bruised, wounded, and bloody part of him visible now underneath the light above your heads. It's even worse than before. How can it be worse?
You throw yourself in beside him, Xiaojun slamming the door shut before he sprints to the passengers seat, Hendery hitting the throttle as soon as everyone is secure inside the vehicle.
You turn to your boyfriend, your love. You have to resist the urge to reach out and touch him, terrified to accidentally skim past a laceration. You whisper his name into the darkness, hoping that he'll answer and that he won't disappear before your very eyes.
Tumblr media
Getting him inside of their apartment complex isn't easy. And not just because it takes two of you to carry him, his body too weak to do much of anything; it's mostly because carrying a half dead looking hybrid to an elevator isn't really the most optimal option.
Luckily Hendery knows how to pick the lock to the fire escape hatch in the back of the complex, allowing the four of you to somewhat subliminally carry him up two flights of stairs before finally arriving at apartment 236.
Not the essiest thing you've ever done. But none of that matters, nothing matters right now except for him.
"Couch!" Xiaojun yells, Hendery two steps ahead of him, pushing the old coffee table in the center of the livingroom to the far right corner.
Yukhei stammers before you both set him onto the piece of furniture as gently as you can, a choked whimper being the only sound he can make. It's even worse in this light, all the shared meals and nights binge watching movies suddenly lightyears away. Now this room is tainted with the sight of him falling apart.
"What do we do? Oh god, what do we do?" You speak through a broken sob, on your knees next to your boyfriends limp figure, his long limbs hanging off the side of the couch while his head struggles to stay upright.
You don't even realize Hendery has ran off until he is jogging back with a first aid kit that probably won't do any good, not in this situation. He reads the uncertainty and disbelief in your expression, quickly rebuttling.
"Venom, we need his venom," He and Xiaojun share a look that you don't quite understand, but you're too overwhemled to question it right now. "We just need to clean him up first, as best as we can."
He hands you a warm, damp washcloth and you are quick to bring it to Yukhei's face, the only place that isn't too damaged to touch and somewhat tamper with. His swollen eyes struggle to stay open, but once your hand caresses his sweltering cheek, he uses all of the strength he has to mutter your name.
"I'm so- sorry, you don't...you don't under..understand."
You place a gentle finger to his busted lips, pulling back immediately as his eyebrows furrow and he winces, not yet aware of the two others pouring some sort of unfamiliar disinfectant onto the open wounds.
"Shh, not right now. We gotta get you fixed up, okay? It's gonna be alright."
The words are probably more comforting to yourself, though nothing is comfortable at a time like this. Everything is happening so fast, Hendery gently pushing you to the side and whispering something to Yukhei that is inaudible to your human ears.
He nods weakly, and you can't hide your horror nor contain the frightening gasp that escapes your throat when Xiaojun approaches and bares his claws, shoving them into your boyfriends side.
You're frozen in place, time stopping for a an infinite moment as you sit and watch what's unfolding. Hendery muffles Yukhei's agonized shout initially, removing his hand when he realizes that the cobras fangs have been ejected.
He holds a vile up to his mouth, puncturing the top open with the sharp edge of his tooth, allowing the sticky clear venom to drip down into the glass container. You've never seen Yukhei's fangs before, mostly because snake hybrids and cobras alike aren't one to use them unless absolutely necessary.
Life or death.
It happens quick, Xiaojun with a needle inbetween his deft fingers, likely from the inconspicuous looking first aid kit, pulling the venom through the syringe before handing it to Hendery to inject into your boyfriends carotid artery.
His body stiffens as if he's gone into shock, veins protruding from his skin and pulsing like his heart beat has gone past the safe amount of BPM.
And then, he's still, so still it feels like you're getting a glimpse of what it's like to lose him, and you still can't find the strength of the willpower to move.
"He'll be okay, I promise,"
Hendery is by your side in an instant, panting as perspiration drips from his forehead. "He just needs to rest, he's the only type of hybrid who can use his own venom as a healing agent."
It feels like you've stepped into a different dimension, like somehow now is the time that your brain finally begins to over process the fact that none of these boys are human and that monsters really do exist.
They're not the monsters. You're not bothered by their otherworldy state of being in the slightest, but there's something in the way that they speak that makes it seem as though you're missing a vital detail, like a page ripped straight from the spine of a book. A page that could very well determine the entire stories fate.
"Where's Yangyang? And the birthday?" Your voice is barely above a whisper, incredulity in your tone.
He and the blonde haired eagle look guilty beyond belief, hesitancy in their eyes. The anger that boils inside of you, starting from your toes and rising to your ears, pushes you to stand to your feet and move past them to where Yukhei lies.
Theur admittance to whatever the fuck is going on, can come later. You don't trust yourself right now anyways, too angry, too overcome with grief to yell or shout or throw things in the way you wish to.
You sit by his side, and reach out to brush his tousled hair out from in front of his scraped forehead, examining the violet and burgundy hues that blooms from underneath his honey colored skin.
"I love you, I'll always be here."
You whisper, lying your head against the cushion next to his, exhaustion suddenly clouding your brain and allowing you to forget, just for a second, that you almost lost him.
Tumblr media
The sunlight burns red from behind your eyelids, last nights events not yet in the forefront of your brain until you hear the low timbre of voices from the other room, haunting images forcing you awake.
You sit up too fast, head pounding from the restless sleep you've endured. You realize you're in someones bed when you kick off a familiar pair of black sheets from your feet, the setting around you like a second home. Yukhei's room. Someone must have carried you here during the night.
You're quicker and more eager than you've ever been in the morning, feet carrying you towsrds the half open door as you practically sprint into the livingroom, expecting to see him lying there as immobile as he was last night; preparing yourself for the worst.
But you don't see anyone on the couch, in fact. It takes you a moment to register that everyone is in the kitchen, huddled around the island. You're too beside yourself to realize that the broad, tan back that's facing you belongs to him, until he turns around.
You don't get a good look at his face, already smashing yourself against his chest with a force that doesn't even budge him. You gasp suddenly, recoiling in fear as you step away, terrified that you've hurt him.
His long arms are still open expectantly, doe eyes glossy as he stares back at you in confusion, your expression as shocked as it is dubious. He's healed. Well, not completely. Your fingers trace over the scabs that have formed where gashes and lacerations once were just hours before.
He pulls you to him again by your elbows, and you look up at him through wet lashes to see that the bruises are no longer a severe shade of purple and blue, only slightly yellow.
It doesn't take many more glances before you're forcing yourself up onto your tippytoes, grasping his cheeks in your palms and pressing your mouth against his.
His arms enclasp you fiercly, nearly making it hard to breathe but you don't care, not at all. Not when he's whole and alive and smells like himself again, not when he's kissing you like it's been years since you've last seen eachother.
When you part you realize that Yangyang and Kun are here, and the confusion that you harbored last night for their actions and secret glances, has you reluctantly pulling away from the embrace of your lover.
You see it now, the fear and worry that colors his expression. All of their expressions. Your eyes are suddenly fierce, fists clenching by your sides as your nails form crescents into the flesh of your palms.
"Someone better tell me what the everliving fuck is going on and why this happened again," You've never been so furious, have never lashed out as anyone as angrily as you are right now.
"A birthday party? Really? That's the excuse you came up with?!" Yukhei hangs his head in shame, knowing that it's in all of their best interest to let you finish. It's only fair.
"And you all knew, every single one of you let him walk into that ring again, every single one of you were okay with letting him die!" Your voice rises an octave, fresh tears now springing from your tired eyes.
"And I know there's something more, you're all shit liars. I just don't know what's going on and I dont know why, I just need to know why?" You sound defeated this time, covering your face in your hands as the cobra cradles your head against his chest.
You're too weak to pull away, too run dry to sob any longer.
Kun is the first to speak.
"His venom, it's-" You can only guess that someone glares at him, Hendery murmuring to his elder to let Yukhei tell you himself.
You finally glance up, meeting the teary eyed gaze of the man you love, who looks as terrified as he does stricken with unidentifiable emotions. He's silent as he deliberates with himself mentally, looking over his shoulder and nodding to the group in a silent understanding, before gently guiding you towards his room.
Tumblr media
Venom, money, high.
These words echo in your brain as you sit across from Yukhei on his bed, his eyes too scared to meet yours as he finally finishes his explanation.
It's the whole hearted truth, as painful as it is to admit to the one person in this world who he so desperately wants to protect. But it had to be done, for your sake and for his.
"So the drinks you were making, they were filled with your venom...and people drank it willingly?"
You're still struggling to understand, no anger or shame laced in your voice as he expected, though it still doesn't lighten the indescribable weight that sits on his chest. He swallows.
"It's like...it's like a high for some people, or like being drunk but to an extreme, euphoric level," He anxiously picks at the skin beside his nail beds.
"The fox knew he could profit off of it, but it's still taboo. He was my employer and could easily pass me off as a crooked cobra hybrid who was sneaking my venom into drinks for secret cash. So he told me if I wanted to stop, for good, I had the chance to get my get out of jail free card during the upcoming fight,"
Your heart feels as if it might rip through your shirt, the pain and obvious regret in his voice tangible. It all makes since bow, though, in hindsight. Though you still don't understand why the others were so involved.
As if he read your mind, he continues.
"And Hendery, Xiaojun...they were just protecting me. They'd wait and make sure that I left the club everynight unharmed, and they knew the cost of confronting the fox. Hendery's venom as a scorpion is lethal, so he couldn't get involved for obvious reasons. They weren't happy or okay with any of it, I just didn't have a choice."
You suddenly feel like the guilty one now, chest heavy as the pieces of the gigantic, horrifying, and confusing puzzle finally come together.
It's alot to take it, more than you were prepared for. And your anger isn't directed at them anymore, in fact wvery ounce of fire that had been raging inside of you burns at the idea of that stupid fucking fox doing all of this for cash.
Sensing that he's still worried you're upset, you reach out to grab his fidgeting hands, his chin lifting only slightly as to peer at you through his dark lashes.
When you crawl over to him and on his lap, he looks dumbfounded. Even more so as you kiss him gently, softer than a rose petal as your thumb caresses the apple of his cheek.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I'm so so sorry." Tears slip past your waterline before you can contain them and he kisses them away just as quickly, voice incredulous.
"Baby no, don't apologize, ever," He lifts your face to his, eyes wide and full of reverie. "I'm okay, I'm okay because you were there and I promise with my entire heart and soul to never get wrapped up in that shit ever again, ever."
You kiss him again, the taste of tears not bothering either of you. You just need to feel him, to remind yourself that he's not going anywhere. You can't shake the thought of how he looked last night.
"I almost lost you, Yukhei you...I thought I'd wake up and you'd be gone and I'd never get to kiss you again or hear your laugh," He's crying now, too, silently as he closes his eyes and you bury your face against his neck. His hands cradle you as if he has the entire world in his grasp.
"Shh I'm here, m'not going anywhere baby. I'll stay forever with you."
And he means it to his very core, feels it in his bones, solidifed as you kiss him again and again like he suplies the air in your lungs. You're both so in love with every fiber of your being, so enraptured in the feeling of one another.
When you push at his chest to silently ask him to lie down, he's quick to assert who's taking care of who, eagerly gripping your soft waist and letting your back fall against his mattress.
"My sweet angel," You arch into his touch as his plush mouth nibbles the soft skin underneath your jaw, traveling across the expanse of your throat and to the sides of your neck. "Let me make you feel good, been so patient with me."
It dawns om him that you're wearing his hoodie and he swears his heart throbs in his chest, quick fingers pulling the garment over your head and tossing it to the side with your shirt underneath, before continuing his descent.
He's shamless in the way he cups your breasts in his wide palms, gazing up at you through slitted eyes as his pink tongue flicks over one of the hardening buds. You reach out to touch any part of him you can, whining as he repeats the action on the opposite breast.
He wanders even further down, across every inch of your tummy, humming all the while in satisfaction at how sweet you smell between your legs, at how needily you whine for him.
He's all too excited now, pulling the shorts from your body with a force that should've ripped them in half, kissing your inner thighs sweetly but not as earnestly as he'd like. He's just too focused on the enticing sight of your glistening sex, mouth practically watering.
He doesn't wait for you to prepare yourself, digging in immediately. Your hands fly to his hair, fingers tangling themselves in the strands as his mouth encloses around your throbbing clit, suckling before he licks a broad stripe over your folds.
"Yu-yukhei...oh!" Your thighs threaten to close around his head but he holds them open with an inescapable grip, endulging himself wholeheartedly as he slurps and licks at every drop of juice that flows from you.
It's a maddening sort of pleasure, your toes curling and belly tightening. His nose is pressed against your pubic mound as he keeps his mouth over your center, wriggling his head back and forth as his tongue flicks over your clit at an inhuman pace.
"Ah, I can't- oh fuck." You're blabbering incoherently, though it only drives him further. He relishes in the way you're writhing underneath him, the way you're so wet just for him and him only.
Tumblr media
"Want you to cum on my tongue, can you do that for me?"
All you can do is cry out in response, bucking your hips against his mouth as he prods at your entrance with the tip of his tongue. You're so close it's humiliating, but he's elated, already sensing your orgasm in the way your walls throb and pulse with every lick to your bud.
The sounds are so nasty, so lewd in the way your wetness combined with his saliva is so audible in the small room.
You cum without a warning, not being able to speak or do much of anything except jerk and twitch as he keeps his mouth on you, unrelenting in his determination to taste your release.
You whimper.
"Fuck me, please Xuxi p-please."
You beg softly, with half lidded eyes and he reluctantly lifts himself from your center with dark yet gentle eyes, mouth saturated in your juices. He can't resist you.
He kisses you like this, and you don't complain one bit. Not when he's got his pants down faster than you can blink, gripping his thick shaft and rubbing the ruby hued tip of his cock against your sensitive clit.
"Want me to fill you up, huh? Want me to make you mine forever and ever."
You're unable to verbally respond when he pushes himself in, not even an ounce of friction due to a mixture of your cum and his spit coating your walls as well as the inside of your thighs. He buries himself to the hilt, your hands on his broad back.
His pace is determined but not frantic, body held up by his forearms so he can continue to kiss you while his dick spears into you. Your lips are one of his favorite parts about you, so soft, the perfect size to slot right against his.
"Yes Xuxi, want you to give me all your cum, pretty p-please."
He supresses a hiss, burying his face in the crook of your neck as you wrap your thighs around his middle, heels pressing into his lower back.
"Mm, gonna give you my babies," He doesn't miss the way your walls flutter around him, as he pulls himself almost all the way out before sheathing himself inside of you once more. "Want you to be leaking with my cum for a w-whole week."
You whimper, and it drives him mad. His hips are agile and precise as he fucks into you now, controlled and skilled. He knows exactly where your sweet spot is, exactly what has you clinging onto him for dear life.
"You're s-so big, missed your dick, missed you."
He's the one whining now, scattering wet kisses under your jaw, nibbling your earlobe. It's like no other sensation, being together like this. You can't tell where he ends and you begin, all you can do is feel.
"You like my big dick, hmm? Want me to stuff that pretty pussy full." His words are filthy, but his candence is sweet like honey, earnest in the way his voice trembles. He's just as high on pleasure as you are.
"Please, please, yes."
His thrusts become harsher in the way he fucks back into you, reaching past your cervix. Your fingers bury themselves into the dark strands of his hair as quiet whimpers bubble from your throat, senses overwhelmed with Yukhei Yukhei Yukhei.
It doesn't help that he's so vocal in your ear, the deep timber of his groans sending chills down your spine and causing your belly to fill with heat, spreading throughout your limbs like wildfire.
It's not just fucking, this feels like what making love really is. It's a reunion in more ways than one, a solidification of your bond. You wish it could last forever, the scent of his skin, the softness of it. You can feel every muscle in his body strained with the strength he uses to please you, to reach depths that have your toes curling.
When you turn your head to kiss the skin just below his ear, his hips falter.
"Oooooh, shit baby m'gonna cum, fuck."
You pull his face from your shoulder to smash his lips against yours, cradling his face as he cups the back of your neck. His tongue slips inside your mouth, and you purposely squeeze your walls around his length.
He mewls, cursing under his breath. "Cum for me, please Yukhei," He's looking right into your eyes, lips kiss bitten, skin flushed. "Make sure you give me every last drop."
He's done for, hair sticking to his forehead, a broken groan straining to leave his throat as he pushes himself as deep as possible, both of you watching each others expression in the process.
"I love you I love you I love you." He chants, while spurts of his cum paint your walls white. You unravel when you look down between your bodies for a fleeting moment, catching a glimpse of the amount he's released as he disappears inside of you over and over again.
He kisses your face as you struggle to grasp onto him, the pleasure too much to handle, physically and emotionally. It has tears springing from your eyes, nails digging into his biceps as he continues to fuck you through it.
"I love you too, I love you so much." You finally reply, finding the strength to speak no matter how slurred and sleepy it might sound.
He smiles warmly with irrevocable adoration, eyes crinkling at the corners. He strokes your cheek with the soft pad of his thumb, leaning down to peck your nose, and then your forehead, and then your eyelids.
"You have my entire heart," He professes. "I'll always be here."
Tumblr media
"Guess I saw that cumming."
Xiajun glares at Hendery.

Candid Conversation: HW Special Features
Special features are pretty rare on Hot Wheels nowadays; they’re now mainly reserved for anything in the Experimotors series, and that’s a shame. But a few years ago... that was a completely different story. Today, I’m going to go through as many special features there are on Hot Wheels cars as possible. I may have missed some.
Tumblr media
Opening hoods
This was a bit of a no-brainer. The Hare Splitter acting as the header image kind of gave it away. Opening hoods have been with the Hot Wheels lineup since 1968.
Examples '67 Camaro (1982 — Present, removed in 2017) ‘69 Dodge Charger (2004 — Present, removed in 2010) Classic Cobra (1982 — Present, removed in 2020) ‘80s Corvette (1983 — 2016, removed in 1996) Countless others
Tumblr media
Hidden headlamps
Something not a lot of people know is that there was a Hot Wheels car with hidden headlamps. I have handled one of these before, courtesy of a friend.
Examples Peeping Bomb (1970 — 1973, Redline)
Tumblr media
Sliding doors
And now we get some ridiculous features such as side-sliding doors. Two Hot Wheels cars have had this feature, and both were activated through pulling something on the rear.
Examples Side Kick (1972, 1998 — 2012) Slide Kick (2019 — Present)
Tumblr media
Opening rear hatches
These have also been a staple of the Hot Wheels lineup. The first car with one of these rear opening hatches came out in 1969 I believe; the Chaparral 2G.
Examples Chaparral 2G (1969 only) Porsche 917 (1971 — 2011) Ferrari 512M (2006 — 2013) Ferrari F40 (1988 — 2014, removed in 2014)
Tumblr media
Opening doors
This feature was fairly standard from the mid-’80s until the early ‘90s; it is now very uncommon for castings to have opening doors.
Examples Nissan Custom “Z” (1990 — 1997) Nissan 300ZX (1984 — 1996) Blazer 4×4 (1984 — 1996) Split Decision (2006
Tumblr media
Opening tonneau covers
I’m pretty sure only one casting has this feature.
Examples Dodge Ram 1500 (2007 — Present, removed in 2017)
Tumblr media
Flip-out wheelie bars
These are often made of either hard plastic or a flexible plastic. Most of these have been removed.
Examples Nitro Doorslammer (2007 — 2011, removed in 2012) ‘49 Drag Merc (2010 — 2015) ‘41 Willys (2000 — 2014) Torpedoes Willys Coupe (2006 only)
Tumblr media
Tip-up bodies
Found mainly on funny cars. Some may flip open in other directions, like Lakester.
Examples ‘97 Firebird Funny Car (1997 — 2014) Probe Funny Car (1990 — 2004) ‘04 Mustang Funny Car (2004 — 2011, retooled into ‘10 Mustang Funny Car) ‘71 Mustang Funny Car (2004 — Present, removed in 2019)
Tumblr media
Detachable bodies
These are usually attached through tabs through the front and back. These castings don’t appear too often, and most castings with this feature have since had their bodies nailed down.
Examples Mini Cooper (2000 — Present, removed in 2015) Hyperliner (2002 — 2013, removed in 2014) Volkswagen New Beetle Cup (2002 — 2016, removed in 2009) Scion xB (2006 — 2016, feature still on Color Shifters car)
Tumblr media
Suspension
What may be surprising to some is that suspension for Hot Wheels cars has been around for a long time. Since 1968, in fact.
Examples Most Redlines from 1968 — 1977 ‘70 Dodge Charger (2017 — Present) Dune-A-Saur (2018 — Present) Hyper Rocker (2019 — Present)
Tumblr media
Adjustable suspension
This one though... only came recently.
Examples 1969 Chevy C10 (2019 — Present)
Tumblr media
Opening trunks
Another highly uncommon feature. Opening rear doors will also be included in this section.
Examples ‘55 Chevy Panel (2006 — Present, removed in 2016) Armored Truck (1996 — Present, removed in 2013) Ambulance (1989 — 2003)
Tumblr media
Functioning tow hooks
Another thing to increase playability for kids, too. These usually work pretty well. There are two types I can think of: the “rivet” type (hooks onto the rivet) and the “fender” type (hooks onto the bottom of the fender).
Examples Tow Jam (1998 — 2012) Repo Duty (2013 — Present) Heavy Hitcher (2019 — Present)
Tumblr media
Pivoting/rotating parts
Especially common on fire trucks. May be found on certain construction vehicles
Examples Flame Stopper (1988 — 2010, pivoting and rotating hose) 5 Alarm (2009 — Present, pivoting ladder) Volkswagen Drag Truck (2004 — 2015, flip-up panel) CAT Wheel Loader (1980 — 2014, operating bucket, removed in 2010)
Tumblr media
Other spinning parts
These can range from propellers to cement drums and other things.
Examples Dogfighter (1996 — 2007, propeller) Oshkosh Cement Mixer (1992 — 2002, spinning cement drum) Fathom This (1998 — 2007, turbines)
Tumblr media
Spinning fans
As far as I know there are only three castings with this feature. This feature has generally not been very common.
Examples Whip Creamer (1971 only) Whip Creamer II (2003 — 2011) Mega Thrust (2006 — Present)
Tumblr media
Opening canopies
There are a number with this feature, though this feature has generally been somewhat uncommon.
Examples Road Rocket (1996 — 2015, removed in 2015) Power Rocket (1995— Present, removed in 2015) Preying Menace (2006 — 2015, removed in 2015) Sky Dome (2017 — Present)
Tumblr media
Removable roofs
Fairly common around the ‘70s and ‘80s but slowly fell in popularity soon after.
Examples ‘31 Doozie (1977 — 2003) Mercedes-Benz 540K (1982 — 1999)
Tumblr media
Twisting bodies
As far as I’m aware, there’s only one casting with this feature. Later toolings have this feature removed.
Examples XS-IVE (2001 — 2009, removed in 2010)
Tumblr media
Functioning ramps
These ramps often slide around and can be pretty easy to lose since they are snapped on.
Examples Cabbin’ Fever (2000 — 2012) Back Slider (2010 — 2014) Fast-Bed Hauler (2014 — Present) The Embosser (2017 — Present)
Tumblr media
Adjustable splitters
These only came about rather recently to combat some issues that came about around 2014 or ‘15 when it came to realistic castings being made with front splitters that curved upwards to allow them to clear loops. This was rectivied starting from 2016. The splitter could be set downwards for a more realistic look or upwards to clear loops.
Examples 2005 Ford Mustang (2016 — Present) El Viento (2017 — Present) Track Ripper (2018 — Present) Gruppo x24 (2019 — Present)
Tumblr media
Tipping beds
Currently somewhat uncommon.
Examples Ford Stake Bed Truck (1983 — 2001) Ford Dump Truck (1983, 2010) Peterbilt Dump Truck (1983 — 2003) Dumpin’ A (1979 — 2012)
Tumblr media
Folding wings
Now this is where things start to get ridiculous.
Examples Jet Threat 4.0 (2007 — 2016)
Tumblr media
Functioning clip
Yes, Hot Wheels cars do have some use too.
Examples Fast Cash (2011 — Present) Clip Rod (2020 — Present)
Tumblr media
Multi-tool
Some of these may function as multi-tools, but I have not tested out the wrench function. I will also need to find a Speed Driver so I can confirm stuff.
Examples Tooligan (2010 — Present) Speed Driver (2020 — Present)
Tumblr media
Extending body
I’m pretty sure only one casting has this feature.
Examples Spector (2007 — 2018, removed in 2015)
Tumblr media
Stamping
Again, it’s likely that only one casting has this feature.
Examples The Embosser (2017 — Present)
Tumblr media
Rolamatic
These castings have something that moves as it rolls. The concept has been around for a long time but Hot Wheels only adopted it fairly recently.
Examples Crate Racer (2016 — Present, engine shakes) Shark Bite (2016 — Present, mouth moves) Gotta Go (2017 — Present, toilet cover moves) Rockin’ Santa Sled (2020 — Present, rider bobs up and down)
Tumblr media
LEGO-compatible
More shameless product placement is good... right? (other brands of interlocking building blocks are available and should also be compatible)
Examples Fig Rig (2013 — Present) Let’s GO (2015 — Present) Bogzilla (2018 — Present) Pixel Shaker (2020 — Present)
Tumblr media
Rolling upside down
Okay, this was probably unintentional on Hot Wheels’ part.
Examples Nitro Scorcher (2007 — 2014)
...bottle opener?
Okay, I’m done. Nothing will ever top this.
Tumblr media
Examples Carbonator (2008 — Present)

A story about Racing, Police ignorance, and Love Ft. This Corny Ass Title.
((Wrote this over two days. little editing, lots of writing.))
The camera in my hand could hardly hold steady and I had a grin ear to ear on my face like a village idiot. From the passenger seat, I could see the excitement on Jessie’s face as she brought the car to a slow. It was 1:00 AM and she had somehow gone undefeated, back to back, in a series of drag races on the street. Five races, five wins, and a whole lot of promised money would probably make anybody grin ear to ear.
I turned the camera to her and without missing a beat, she turned and stuck her tongue out at me.
“Tell me, Jessie, How does it feel to win three grand without lifting a finger for work?” I asked in my best fake news anchor voice.
“Feels fucking good!” She shouted, slapping the steering wheel in joy.
I was caught on a laugh and it almost felt like that teeth chattering cold feeling running up my spine. Pure electricity. We were both having the time of our lives and I felt closer than ever to her.
“Woah, what the hell?” She murmured under her breath.
I must have held the camera on her longer than i thought because when i turned to look out the windshield, the crowd was dispersing fast. All the people that were once watching were now either running to cars, their friends with cars, or just plain running. They scattered like ants before us. I zoomed my camera in and followed two people as they ran and hopped a fence into someones backyard.
Thats when we both noticed the bright red and blue flashing lights up ahead. Fuck.
A portly man jogged through the crowd and towards our car, reaching to his hip. He stopped in our headlights and yelled something. To our suprise, he drew his gun and aimed at us through the windshield.
“STOP RIGHT THERE. STOP RIGHT THERE” He shouted at us.
I looked to Jessie who seemed to be weighing her options. She stared at the cop infront of us and chewed her lip, a nervous tic i've noticed over the years. Illuminated by the flashing lights, she grew a small smile.
“Put on your seatbelt” she said quietly.
“Its already on” I replied.
“Good”
She shifted the car into reverse and stuck her hand out of the window, raising her middle finger.
“FUCK YOU, PIG!”
I didnt even have time to laugh at her tenacity before I was thrown forward in my seat. She had hit the gas so hard that we spun the tires going backwards. She turned around in her seat to look out the back window and I raised the camera out the windsheild. The cop knew that pointing his gun was useless since he had no real reason to use it. He wasnt about to kill us over a drag race.
He started talking into his radio and I laughed. I laughed hard. One hand on the steering wheel and one on the top of my seat, Jessie watched the road behind her as she drove backwards at high speeds. I watched her through my camcorder. Her eyes said determination but her lips said fun. I looked at her skinny form admirably. Her dyed hair fluttered in the wind and her silver lip piercing caught the dashboard light just right. Watching her in her element like this was stunning. She did it all with such a natural grace. Her motions sharp and accurate like a blade under flesh.
She dropped back into the drivers seat and wrapped her hand around the e-brake. With one hand grabbing the ‘oh shit’ handle above me and another on my camera, I braced myself.
She yanked the handle back and spun the steering wheel, throwing our momentum to the left. As the car spun, She grabbed the shifter and threw it into first. She dropped her foot into the gas pedal and the car caught traction. I sank back into my seat as we took off again. The engine roared in a fury, drowning out all noise around us. A light flashed on the dash and she hit the clutch, shifting again. The car lurched and went faster.
She was grinning wide as the blue lights became distant behind us. She shifted again and gained more speed. The houses, trees, sidewalks, all became a blur as we blasted through the neighborhood.
All of a sudden a police car with the blues on pulled out infront of us and stopped, blocking the intersection ahead. Jessie laid the gas into the floor and shifted again. I looked over at her like she was crazy. She smiled and concentrated on the car ahead. We must have been going at least 80 at this point.
The car was getting closer when all of a sudden i felt our momentum swing again. Jessie had pulled the e-brake again and hit the gas, sending us swinging around to face where we came. I could smell the burning rubber around us. The smell got worse as Jessie put the car in first again and slammed the gas, taking off in the opposite direction of the cop car.
I looked behind us to watch as the cop car turned to follow. Of course, considering how Jessie was driving, I wasnt sure If it would be able to keep up. The car lurched as Jessie shifted. The mustang revved hard and kept pace, sending us down the street.
Two more cop cars showed up in the distance. I could see their blues before i could see their headlights. They were headed straight for us, side by side. No way around them.
I watched Jessie analyze it all. She was quick like this. She knew the curb was too high to climb without popping any tires. She also knew that these dumb ass cops werent backing down.
One cop car behind us, two infront of us.
She took her chances with the one behind us.
She slammed on the brakes, coming to a skidding stop in the middle of the street. The cop behind us, who had been picking up too much speed, had no choice but to either crash into us or swerve around us.
The cop car swung itself around our vehical and came a stop in the center of the intersection. This also blocked off the two cop cars ahead. Jessie threw the car in reverse once more and hit the gas, sending us backwards. She looked behind her for an opening and as soon as she found herself in a spot with no cars parked on the side of the road, she swung the mustang around again and put it in first, launching off for the final time tonight.
We peeled out and we were gone.
The street lights strobed through the windshield as the mustang flew down the street. Tunes poured from the radio and filled the car with good vibes. Every so often the car would lurch as Jessie shifted, but otherwise it was smooth sailing. Cops were long gone, probably trying to pull the fingers out of their ass so they could keep harassing people like us.
“Fuck the po” Jessie stated, turning down the radio a bit.
“They really are fucking worthless around here” I replied in earnest.
“You think theyre still stuck in that intersection trying to figure out how to get around one another?”
I laughed a bit at that.
“Probably” I said.
It was quiet for a bit with no other sounds save for the engine and the semi quiet radio. I stole glances at her from the passenger seat and I could tell she was thinking kinda hard about something. It made me wonder what the next step in the night would be.
“Tonight has been fun” she started, “but it kinda sucks that im gonna have to have my car painted again”
“Why is that again?” I asked
“Well, I cant exactly drive around freely in this thing when the police are on the look out for a red Ford Mustang. Kinda beats the point of running from the police”
“I get that...Still, you made a good chunk of change tonight. I imagine it wont run you too much to paint it, will it?”
“Nah” She replied, “but I dont know… I liked the red. I thought it looked nice…”
“Well I think you look better when youre not behind bars…” I said softly, almost wishing she didnt hear me at all.
“Yeah, its not exactly something I wanna see in the mirror every morning”
We sat in silence for another moment before i could scrape up the words to keep the conversation going.
“What color?” I asked.
“Hmm?”
“What color are you gonna paint it this time?”
The corner of her mouth twisted in contemplation.
“Well it was black, then that color got too hot...I liked red but this just isnt gonna do anymore…”
“How about pink?”
“Ew, no” she grimaced, “Talk about a big red flag saying ‘Im a female and i think its important above all that everyone should know that””
“I think thats a bit of a stereotype”
“Yeah? Well stereotypes exist for a reason.”
“Ok, ok, what about something fancy?”
“Like…?”
“Well, ive seen a few cars do a sort of sunburst color. Im not sure how expensive it would be to get that, but i think it could look nice. Besides, you could still use the red on your car for either the top or bottom depending how you do it.”
“Hmm...ya know, thats not a bad idea….”
“I also think it would be cool if you made the center black. Like a zero sun or something”
“Im gonna have to have someone sketch something but… I think i dig the idea of it…”
Jessie pulled the car to a slow and turned into her driveway. Hitting the button she had strapped to the visor, the garage door slowly rose open. She drove the car inside and hit the button again, closing it behind her.
With that, she turned the car off and opened the door, getting out. I followed suit.
As I stood from the car, the first thing Jessie did was pop the hood and walk over to the mini fridge in her garage. She leaned over and opened the door, grabbing two beers from the rack before shutting it. She brought one over and put it in my hands before cracking her own and taking a sip.
She sighed deep and walked over to her tool box, grabbing her socket wrench and bits, before standing over the engine bay.
“Timing is always a bit off with this thing…” she muttered as she went under the hood.
I cracked the top of my own beer before sitting down in the office chair she had lying around. I took a hearty drink from the bottle as I was quite parched. Moving fast and dodging cops really worked up a thirst, even though i was only filming it.
I watched Jessie tinker with the motor again. I don't think she will ever be satisfied with it even though it does the job just fine. Thats one part of her that really gets me. She loves her car a lot, Almost too much. She loves it to the point where I sometimes wonder if she really can really love another person beyond a one night stand. I can almost understand such a fondness for something inanimate, I mean, I love my camera to death and I use it almost as much as Jessie drives her car, but it almost makes me feel... Jealous. And even thinking that makes me cringe a bit. The idea that I would be jealous over the way someone treats an inaminate object over me is just silly. But god damn it if sometimes i dont get frustrated.
Ive had a crush on Jessie for nearly 2 years. She means the world to me and im not sure if she even knows that. I spend most of my free time with her. Ive loaned her cash many times either to put into her car or on tools. I mean she always pays me back and thats fine, but i just wish that I could say the thing that I wanna say without coming off as some weirdo. I dont even think she sees me in that way and it hurts.
It hurts really fucking bad.
I take another long drink from the bottle until its empty. I place the empty bottle on her work bench and grab another from the fridge, quickly popping the cap off.
Its not even her fault. Its not her fault at all. Its my fault for always being such a chickenshit anytime the moment arises. She even teases me about getting a girlfriend so she can steal her. (She is bi, but i dont think she would actually do that to me. Jessie is a good friend and if anything, she would probably act as my wingman. Shes cool like that.) It really blows that she pretty much sees me as a brother...or a lamp.
I dont wanna be a fucking lamp.
I watch as she cranks away at some form of machinery under the hood. Youd think after all this time spent around her, talking about cars and racing, that i would learn a few things. And i cant tell you that youd be wrong. I. Am. A. Dumbass. When it comes to cars.
Ask me about film or editing or what-have-you and i can pull answers out of my ass all day long. But anything beyond a standard oil change? No idea.
I watched as she went to take a sip from her own beer only to find it empty.
“Hey nerd boy, wanna grab me another beer?”
And like the whipped dog i am, I got right up and grabbed her another bottle.
I set it down on the car just a tad harder then i intended and winced when she took notice. It did not damage the car or anything, but there was a notable change in mood.
Fuck.
She set a hand on my shoulder before i could go sit back in my pity corner.
“Is something wrong, dude?” The way she looked at me pierced me. I was stuck. And if i didnt say something soon i was gonna look like a weirdo.
I sorta shook my shoulder, the one her hand was on, a bit to see if she would remove it. She didnt.
“Its nothing, really. Im just thinking about something shitty that youtube did, thats all.” I spoke quietly before looking away.
Her hand stayed on my shoulder, firmy clamped. Not enough to feel pain, but enough to know she was squeezing it in consolement.
My lonely ass practically shivered at the touch. Ive been starved of human contact for far too long.
“Yeah, im not buying that. Look at me” she said firmly.
When i didnt move my head from the side, she set the tool in her hand down on the car and grabbed my jawline, moving my head to face her.
She stared at me in something mixed with concern and...i guess something like motherly instinct?
“Why dont you tell me whats really going on? I know you too well to know that something small would bug you this much.”
I decided that I could probably get away with a half lie. Probably.
“I uh… Ive been having trouble with this girl…” I started sounding more unsure than id hoped. Motherfucker…
Her eyes lit up for a second. Shock? Suprise? Yeah I wouldnt believe me either.
“You actually found a girlfriend?” She asked quickly, somewhere between suprise and excitement.
“Well, I uh...No… Its more like I have a...crush…on this girl.” I spoke slowly trying to keep my tone even.
She then let go of me and speed walked over to grab both of the wheelie chairs and set them so they faced each other. All in one motion, she made sure we both had bottles in our hands and we were sitting down facing each other.
“So…” She started, “Tell me about this girl…”
I sat and thought about the most vauge things I could bring up so that I could wiggle out of this.
“Well, uh, shes got shorter hair. Not quite short, but about shoulder length. She has these beautiful eyes. Amazing, stunning, eyes…. Shes uh, a bit on the shorter side but i think thats adorable, really…”
“She sounds cute!” Jessie started, bouncing her legs in place excitedly. “Whats she like?”
“What do you mean?”
I knew what she mean.
“Ya know… like her personality or whatever…”
“Oh, yeah” i said rubbing the back of my neck nervously, “She uh...Shes real tom boyish, likes to play rough and have fun on the wild side of things...She also isnt afraid of anyone or anything and could probably take down people twice her size anyday of the week...She also has a really cool music taste...Shes one in a million, really”
I saw something flash real quick in her eyes before switching back. Oh fuck. She knows…
“Well she sounds like someone special” She said taking a sip of beer, “Have you thought of how youre gonna tell her?”
My heart started pounding. It was pounding harder than it was when the police were on our ass less than an hour ago.
“See now, thats the frustrating part. Im always trying to figure out how im gonna tell her...but im afraid she will be put off by me…”
“And whys that?” Jessie asked me.
“Because...uh...because…” I stammered trying to think of something to say.
Her eyes shined brightly and bored into my own. She concentrated on me like I was the only thing visible to man. I could feel my palms start to sweat.
“Because….me and her...got really close over the past two years...and i dont think she shares the same feelings...thats why its frustrating.”
Jessie leaned back in her office chair and drank down the rest of her beer before continuing.
“I see…” she started, “And would this girl happen to own a red ford mustang that she enjoys racing with and using to run from the police when the occasion arises?”
I looked down at my feet and nodded my head yes.
I heard the glass of her bottle clinking against the concrete floor before she rolled her chair closer to mine. I felt her hand around my jaw line again. This time it was more of a caress than a grab. She slowly lifted my chin up to meet her and my first expectation was to get laughed at for my burning red cheeks.
Once we were both staring at each other, I saw her move in closer to my face.
Her eyes drifted shut and before i knew it, her lips were against mine. It was a light kiss with hardly any movement. Timid and testing, like a deer investigating something new in the wild. I felt her head tilt more to the side and i did the same in the opposite direction.
I….I didnt really know how to feel. I was overwhelmed, trying too hard to read the situation at hand. My brain was going so fast i felt like my head was gonna explode.
And before i realized how amazing this moment truly was, she broke away from the kiss.
To my suprise, her breath was actually a bit laboured. And she stared at me with a big smile on her face.
“Ive been waiting....two long years for that, nerd boy.” she whispered so softly.
This time, I grabbed her chair and pulled her too me as I met her with my lips again. Our faces came together and this time it was all a lot messier. She moved her lips against mine, roughly, hungrilly even. I tried to mirror what she did but to be honest, my experience with kissing was minimal. Then I felt something poke between my lips and at my teeth.
I opened my mouth a bit more to accept her tongue. I could feel her reach behind my head and grab on, shoving us closer together. I ran my hands up her back, watching not to cross any boundies.
It was like a dance, really. She lead and i followed. And what a dance it was.
We broke apart for air and stared at each other. My hands had rested at her hips and she had a hand on each shoulder. We were both just about hanging off the edge of our chairs.
Out of breath she spoke quietly.
“Backseat?”
I nodded frantically, like my life depended on it.
“Backseat”

SEMA is a hard show at which to properly appreciate cars. On one hand – it’s a show overflowing with some of the best builds you will see all year. On the other hand – it’s that same overflow that makes it almost impossible to keep your wits about you. It’s almost too much of a good thing. In a sea of thousands of cars, I feel like some inevitably get lost. The great thing is: The cars that are truly memorable, the cars you are talking about weeks and months after the show… are cars which rise above the temporary flash-in-the-pan Instagram fame. Some cars deserve to be immortalized. More than digital noise or passing fancy, they draw their inspiration from the timeless. The classic.
This 240Z certainly qualifies as one of these cars. While it has some innovations and forward thinking design elements, it also honors the tradition and legacy of Datsun’s Z car heritage. Car owner Dennis wanted a Z that could be as menacing on the street as it was on the track. In looking to manifest his dreams into reality, he was fortunate enough to meet aspiring builder Kyle Kuhnhausen. Kyle is a fresh out of business school automotive entrepreneur with a penchant for metal work. Ok, more than a penchant… he has a gift.  From the paint scheme to the heavily gusseted cage, this car is well thought out & beautifully executed. How well executed? Well, when we talked he made sure I knew that the LS swap was a place holder engine until they built something truly epic for under the hood. WOW. Some place holder.
Let’s take a moment and revel in my three favorite aspects of this car.
  First)
There is the paint scheme. Nimbus Grey (or battle ship grey in some parlance) has to be my personal favorite hue on show cars. It’s rich, it allows shadows to adopt a deep dark over tone, and light reflections to be silvery & pronounced. Every truly beautiful design looks amazing in this color. So… win number one? CHECK! The Peter Brock homage striping is as evocative and respectful of the Z’s motorsport heritage as it is a tasteful modern touch of racer bravado. I dig it. Those famous side stripes actually start on the hood at the vents and then cascade over the fender and down the side forming the Brock stripes we are all familiar with. A killer design cue that is at once forward thinking and period correct. Nicely done.
Second)
Let’s talk about that metal work. The Aero is mean, functional, and gives the car a seriously provocative stance. What’s more – it’s designed to just rip/break away cleanly in the case of a momentary lapse in driver skill (for example paying a visit to say, China Beach at the end of the straight at Mid Ohio). Well played Kyle, well played. However, as fantastic as that aero is, it is nothing compared to the beautifully executed roll cage. Meant to be a street car that can participate is serious track time… it had to be a car from which Dennis could easily get in and out. Kyle kept the safety high by fabricating one seriously artful, yet stout, fully gusseted integrated cage. Take a few moments and look at the cage in this car. I have severe race car envy. My race car has race car envy. Seriously. It is so good that it easily merits adjectives like superlative, excellent, exemplary. Bravo.
Third)
And this is one where so many cars sort of take a pass… the gauge cluster. When a car has track day toy duties, it’s easy to just pick up a digital display, mount it up, and just call it done. Not in this car. The cluster in this car is 13 individual pieces of aluminum lovingly hand shaped into what you see before you. It honestly called to mind some of the extreme and bespoke modern interpretations currently en vogue built around the Porsche 911. The Singer cars being the most notable, they take an air cooled 911 and massage every aspect of the car… and polish, preen, & refine it until it is absolutely jewel-like. The perfect 911. Well, that’s where this Z took me. It’s like a really nice 240Z… only polished to the highest possible degree. Everywhere you look there are tasteful touches. This instrument cluster exemplifies that. The angle at which it is canted toward the driver, the alignment of it inside the MOMO wheel. It’s absolutely glorious.
So yeah, this car is one of the highlights of last year’s SEMA show. It truly was. Bespoke modern takes on past classics are hot right now. Cars like the Singer 911s are fetching 500k and more per unit, so it makes builds like this kind of a serious proposition. Get it right and the value and classic status is legitimate. In the end, Dennis can drive this car on the road or the track, confident in the fact that he found the perfect enthusiast to execute his vision. And he can rest well in the fact that he’s now driving the Singer of Datsun 240Zs.

One of the most neglected game genres on the Mac is racing. Sure, there have been some good racing games on the platform but aside from the occasional novelty title or outdated licensed game we really have not had a lot to be excited about. After you finish the yearly Nascar Racing (a must-have for any oval racing fan) refresh there really isn’t a whole lot left.
Seeing this hole, and recognizing the Mac community’s long standing support of shareware game developers, CodeBlender has released RallyShift, a WRC racing game. And this is for good reason, very few forms of racing translate to video games as well as rally. Games like the PS2’s Grand Turismo series, WRC and the multi-platform Colin McRae racing series have popularized the WRC and has vaulted humble econo-boxes like the Subaru Imprezza, Mitsubishi Lancer and Ford Focus to modern equivalents of the last century’s hottest hot-rods.
For those not familiar with the WRC championship, a few facts about rally racing: The WRC is arguably the second largest racing series in the world in terms of viewership and global reach behind Formula 1. Cars eligible for racing in the series are highly modified versions of actual production cars – beneath the 350 HP, four wheel drive, 1,200-pound machines is the unibody from a typical economy car. Races are essentially time trials, where racers attack the course against the clock. Times are added up and the lowest accumulated time over the course of several days of racing is the winner. Courses range from tight asphalt roads that wind their way up mountains with sheer drops, to logging roads in Northern Europe which sport jumps that are taken at 130 miles per hour sending cars sailing through the air, snow and ice covered roads, and sub-Saharan villages where the local pastime is to throw giant suspension destroying rocks onto the track. Rally racing is not short on excitement.

So given the sport’s ability to deliver an exciting experience, a decent Rally racing game is long overdue on the Mac. And I am glad to say that our wait is over. Rally Shift delivers a pretty good racing experience.
Rally Shift offers three game play modes: Time Attack, Single Race and Championship. The game includes five tracks only two of which are available at first. The other two need to be unlocked by playing through the championship.
Quicktime download for snow leopard. Cars include the Mitsubishi Lancer (three versions), Subaru Imprezza and the Ford Focus. Weights and power vary by car, but I did not feel a significant difference when playing them. The color schemes are reminiscent of the popular Rally teams but lack sponsor names – this is understandable given the lack of an official license.
Game play tends towards the arcade side of the spectrum. Cars handle predictably, and there are some limited tuning options. I like a lot of body roll and loose handling for my Rally car games and I was able to get the feel that I like. Not as loose as Sega Rally, but not as tight as Collin McRae Rally. Car setup choices are fairly limited: gearing, suspension, and transmission.

Homebuilt Pro Street 1968 Camaro
There’s a first time for everything, like riding a bike or diving into the deep end. But just as you might skin a knee from a fall or cough up some pool water, it wasn’t all easy-peasy for Bren Manke working on his ’68 Camaro.
“This was the first car build I had ever done,” he admits. “I built the entire thing, including all the engine assembly, rollcage fabrication, suspension work, wiring, and just about everything else, in my two-car garage.”
Fortunately, Bren is mechanically inclined and had some previous experience working on snowmobiles with his dad, Bill. And he had one big motivation: to build this car with the sole intent of making it go really fast.
That’s a familiar line to Chevy High Performance readers. Making it happen is a whole ’nuther story, though. Fortunately, when he found the car on a Craigslist ad as a rolling chassis, it had very little rust. “But it was pretty much just a shell,” he admits.
While his idea initially was to build a Pro Touring car, his focus shifted after attending the NHRA Sonoma Nationals and watching some cool old drag cars tearing up the track. So he switched horses in midstream and went the Pro Street route instead.
“The only problem was that I had already mini-tubbed the car,” he notes. “So I got the absolute biggest tires I could fit into the wheelwells without doing fullsize tubs.” He also welded in some subframe connectors and bolted on Competition Engineering Slide-A-Link traction bars, secured to a 3.70 Ford 9-inch with Moser 33-spline forged axles. To further minimize axlewrap, Detroit Speed supplied 3-inch drop-leaf springs and shocks.
This setup was for putting some serious power to the pavement—about 750 horses at 15 psi from a 383 small-block topped with a Weiand 6-71 blower. All good in theory, but he encountered a few bumps in the road along the way. The first one happened while testing the engine right after he had gotten the Weiand blower installed.
“I went to my favorite testing spot and floored it,” he relates. “Well, the throttle linkage that hooked to the carburetor wasn’t adjusted right and got stuck against the side of the blower, keeping it at full throttle. I was getting really close to 140 mph when I shut the ignition off.” As a result, the engine backfired super hard, which in turn bent the crankshaft. He was able to limp it home and ended up pulling the engine and installing a new crank.
The next challenge was a more involved technical issue, as the engine ran too hot. After months of fighting overheating issues he determined the problem was caused by the blower being over-driven too much.
“I was achieving the boost levels I wanted, but the extra load during idle and cruising caused it to overheat.” And that was after trying all sorts of fixes, such as installing a huge radiator that barely fit between the framerails, adding water wetter, a high-flow 55-gpm electric water pump, and dual shrouded electric fans, plus adjusting the timing, changing the jetting—everything.
He eventually went with a Whipple W200R twin-screw supercharger instead, which has a bypass valve to bleed off boost at slow speeds. Even so, he replaced the plastic butterfly-style valve with a turbo blow-off unit. Why the switch? “Because of the aesthetics and the fact I can calibrate the amount of vacuum needed to open it by using different tension springs,” Bren explains.
Drawing on his snowmobile experience, he also designed a water-to-air intercooler to adapt it to his existing 6-71 intake. That involved drawing up several designs and fine-tuning through trial and error (just as he did on the rest of the project).
Assembled by Bren, with some help from his father, the innards of the engine provided by CNC Motorsports include Eagle forged rods and a crank with a 3.750-inch stroke in a 0.030-overbore of 4.030 inches, slinging JE forged pistons with an 8.8:1 compression ratio. AFR 220 heads run Scorpion 1.5:1 rockers. Filtering the air into a Pro Systems SV1 carb is a K&N element with a custom scoop.
Downstream from the block are Schoenfeld headers (1 7/8 to 1 3/4-inches), dumping into a 3-inch custom X-pipe and dual mufflers. Backing up the mill is a TCI Auto Turbo 350, actuated by a B&M shifter and fitted with a trans brake.
Another scary surprise came when Bren was trying out a new electric fuel pump. He had it operating for a while without having the car running. So how did things get a little weird?
“Well, unknown to me when I had installed the fittings on the pump, a small metal shaving made its way into the carburetor and kept the needle and seat open, flooding the motor extremely bad (like, hydraulic the motor bad),” he relates. Bren decided to pull the spark plugs and crank the motor to clear the gas out but forgot to unhook the coil.
“When I hit the key something sparked and ignited the gas that came out of the cylinders, and before I knew it I had three-foot flames shooting out of the engine bay,” he recalls with wince. Fortunately, he grabbed a fire extinguisher and put it out pretty fast—but not before it burned up the majority of the wiring around the engine.
“We also had a heck of a time getting the matte finish to come out right,” Bren admits. “We ended up spraying, sanding, and respraying the entire car because when the matte finish would begin to dry, random striping would appear, the worst of which were on the flat surfaces such as the roof and decklid.” That’s when he decided to go with the two-tone flat/matte finish.
Despite all the hurdles and hiccups, this build had a good ending, as he and his bride, Aggie, did a smoky burnout at their wedding reception. All told, after three years of overcoming various challenges, “This car was an absolute blast to build and one heck of a learning curve.”
And they lived happily ever after. CHP

Hot Wheels '11 Dodge Charger R/T #hotwheels The Dodge Charger is a full-size four-door sedan, introduced first at the 2005 North American International Auto Show and built by American automobile manufacturer Stellantis North America, a subsidiary of Stellantis. It is available in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive drivetrains. The Charger was developed to continue the Dodge Charger line with its muscle car heritage, and replaced the Dodge Intrepid as Dodge's full-size sedan. The second-generation Charger debuted for the 2011 model year. In 2011 Dodge introduced the Dodge Charger R/T Mopar 11 Edition. In the Mopar Edition, there are several appearance and performance changes to set it apart from the rest of the production models that year. The Mopar edition came only in the ”Pitch Black“ exterior color with a Mopar blue driver side stripe and a Mopar grille badge instead of an "R/T" badge. The interior is finished in the same black as seen on the outside except for a splash of chrome and carbon fiber dash and center console, along with a pistol grip shifter. The Mopar blue stripe is carried to the interior as a part of the driver's front seat and the left side rear passenger seat. The performance of the Mopar edition Charger is improved with the Super Track Pack, a 3.91 final drive gear ratio, a 3 mode traction control, heavy-duty brakes, larger stability bars, front and rear strut tower bars, and a sport-tuned steering rack. In early 2006, DaimlerChrysler released a new police version of the Charger. It made its debut at the 2005 New York International Auto Show. Unlike the civilian version, the police version features upgraded heavy-duty brakes, a severe-duty cooling system, police-performance Electronic Stability Program, police performance-tuned steering, and a gear shifter that is mounted on the steering column instead of in the center console. #hotwheels #diecast #hotwheelscollectors #diecastcollector #hotwheelscollector #diecastcollectors #hotwheelsphotography #diecastphotography #hotwheelsmania #hotwheelscars #dodge #charger #11dodge #11charger #dodgecharger #chargerrt #11dodgecharger #11dodgechargerrt #mopar (at The World Spa Towers) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKvzWOlpM8V/?igshid=1miki2iujude6

A lot of us can remember those key moments that hooked us into the scene. Yeah some of you were born into it, and it’s always been a family affair. But there are still those moments. Maybe when dad finally hit the ignition, after what seemed like an eternity of silence in the garage… and the roar shocked your heart, shook the walls, and brought neighbors out. For others, it may have been a glimpse out the back window of mom’s minivan, where some tuner absolutely ripped it off a light or through a tunnel.
See, in those days when we were younger, we were intrigued & amazed when we saw something different. We didn’t scrutinize it or criticize it… we just absorbed it & delighted in it. We need to hold onto that. Because it wasn’t like like today, where keyboard-punching weenies take joy, rather than make joy. We all see it, and it’s submitting our scene to limitations that are polar opposite of what it was built on. Cameron Dawkins, owner of this Genesis Coupe, read all the comments, and fought back with the same attitude as our hot-rodding ancestors… Get out of here, kid. You got no future.
Cameron’s Genesis started much like any enthusiast noob; short ram, plasti-dip, and long nights on eBay. Sound familiar? And much like anything in Florida, the Genesis motor got too hot too fast and melted. Still under warranty, he got the engine replaced. But not another year later, Dawkins was having fun in true import fashion, when again he fried the block.
At this point, he saw three options: 1) F*ck the lemons and bail. 2) Replace the motor yet again. 3) Swap the motor with something hot.
Sure – the LS swap is more common than a teenager texting. But keep in mind… it’s only common within a minority group of people. Meaning – you and all your dweeby friends know about it… but it’s not common-talk amongst your sister and her friends, or your mom & her book club, or your neighbors and their yard sale customers. Get it?
Nevertheless – Cameron took a lot of shit from all different corners of the car scene. He got the KDM community asking, “Why you put LS in Geny Coupe?!”
And the rest of the scene asking, “Why you mod Hyundai so much?”
He’s in the grey area. Not import enough for the import crowd. And not powerful enough for the power thirsty. There’s a point of maturity/clarity we can reach in circumstances like this. Where we’re not affected by anything or anyone. Cameron hit that point 2 years ago when he decided to swap the LS1.
Much like anyone’s first big swap, it was no cake walk: and Cameron was learning as he went. With the Fuel Tech management system, he needed to get rid of his sweet drive-by-cable and find a drive-by-wire throttle body.
Using a Corvette throttle body fulfilled the requirements, but then Dawkins ran into the next issue of needing an adapter to make that work.
The Enjuku swap kit wasn’t working well with the clutch master. Through community support he found that he needed a clutch master adapter.
Additionally, Cameron was having issues with the shifter relocation for the T56 transmission, forums revealed he needed to notch and grind the shifter plate.
And here was that time when his main engine fuse box caught fire, because the headers were too close.
Little bumps can add up quick & can discourage a build. But when Cameron lost his own motivation, by George he found it in others. See – turns out he wasn’t alone. As Babe Ruth apparently said, “The loudest boos come from the cheapest seats.” But since Cameron was able to separate himself from the noise, behold he found a few people from various corners of the scene were willing to lend hands. LS guys who just wanted to help him release the eagles from under his Korean hood. Genesis guys who wanted to see success & smiles. Much respect to these little lights that shine amongst us.
As for its current state, Cameron loves all the different reactions he gets. It’s hard not to smirk at the color shifting paint job. The Art In Motion MA5 wheels chop through your vision under the sun. Every exaggerated curve on this thing makes your eyes dance. And that surprise growl of that LS1 V8 is just salt on the glass. You can hate if that’s your thing. You can put this guy’s car down, just to build your own ego up. But you got no future kid.
