Retaliatory tariffs in the trade war between China and the US
Barrie (2020) mainly discusses the impact of retaliatory tariffs in Sino US trade war on bilateral economies. As a result of the trade war, the import and export tariffs of the corresponding products between China and the United States continue to increase, which leads to the rising prices of the materials purchased by the enterprises of the two countries, and even affects other countries around the world. This paper will analyze the indirect impact of Sino US trade war on luxury industry by referring to Barrie (2020).
The Sino US trade war will reduce the luxury overseas consumption of Chinese tourists. Although China’s luxury consumption is increasing year by year, a large part of China’s luxury consumers’ luxury consumption comes from overseas consumption, which is mainly due to the high price of China domestic luxury goods and the large gap between the price of China domestic and overseas luxury goods, so some luxury consumers choose to purchase luxury goods overseas in the way of tourism. According to the data of the world tourism organization, China has become the country with the largest international tourism consumption in the world since 2012(He, Zha & Loo, 2020). Since then, the proportion of China in the global international tourism consumption has been rising. It is no exaggeration to say that any luxury goods enterprise will not give up Chinese tourists, and they will certainly attach great importance to Chinese tourists, after all, it is related to their performance and their survival. However, with the outbreak of the trade war, the bilateral relations between China and the United States are deteriorating, which has seriously affected the number of Chinese tourists to the United States. According to the National Tourism Administration of the United States, in 2018, the number of Chinese tourists to the United States reached 2.9 million, down 5.7% year on year, the first time since the number of Chinese tourists to the United States declined in 2003(Hosain & Hossain, 2019)). In today’s environment, if the United States lose Chinese tourists, the impact on the luxury industry in the United States is very big.
Sino US trade frictions will affect the valuation of luxury goods industry. First, China and the United States are both very large economies, once the trade war is triggered in an all-round way, not only will the economic environment of China and the United States face great risks and uncertainties, but the global economy will also decline to a certain extent, which will lead to a decline in investors’ confidence in luxury industry investment. Secondly, China has many neighboring countries and is in the developing stage. It is the import and export transfer station of goods in many countries and regions. Therefore, the trade war will affect the countries in this supply chain, such as South Korea and Japan. Finally, intellectual property is an important right issue in the history of human development. Its good implementation and application can comprehensively promote the development of science and technology industry in human society. In the process of actual development, China’s industry is in the link of supply chain. The implementation of trade war by the United States against China will also damage its own interests to a large extent If the global economy is affected, consumers’ demand for luxury industry will inevitably be affected, resulting in investors’ underestimate of luxury industry. According to analysts at UBS in the global economy, the luxury industry could face a devaluation of up to 30% if the trade war is fully launched.

One such transformative solution making waves in the world of packaging is Bangladesh-origin sacks, proudly supplied by Hossain Enterprise. These sacks are not just containers; they represent a commitment to excellence, sustainability, and responsible trade, particularly in the context of precious commodities like cocoa, coffee, and bitter kola.
The Sustainability Revolution: At the heart of Bangladesh-origin sacks lies a profound commitment to sustainability. Crafted from natural jute fibers, these sacks are a shining example of eco-conscious packaging. Jute, a highly renewable and biodegradable resource, is at the core of these bags, aligning seamlessly with global sustainability goals. Choosing these sacks signifies a conscious choice to reduce environmental impact and promote a greener future for our planet.
Strength, Durability, and Reliability: The packaging of commodities as delicate as cocoa, coffee, and bitter kola demands strength and durability. Hossain Enterprise's Bangladesh-origin sacks offer precisely that. They are engineered to withstand the rigors of transportation and storage, ensuring that the products within remain safe and intact. This level of reliability translates into reduced losses, which is crucial for businesses.
Preservation of Freshness: Cocoa, coffee, and bitter kola are celebrated for their unique flavors and aromas. Bangladesh-origin sacks have exceptional breathable properties that facilitate proper air circulation, crucial for preserving the freshness and quality of these commodities. Consumers can savor the rich and distinct tastes of these products, thanks to the superior packaging.
Customization for Branding Excellence: The versatility of these sacks allows businesses to personalize their packaging. Logos, branding, and product information can be easily added, creating a distinctive and memorable presence in the market. It's not just about packaging; it's about making a lasting impression.
International Compliance and Quality Assurance: In a globalized world, adherence to international food safety and quality standards is paramount. Hossain Enterprise ensures that their Bangladesh-origin sacks meet these rigorous standards, guaranteeing that the products packaged within are of the highest quality and safety. This compliance opens doors to international markets and strengthens trade relationships.
Economic Impact and Community Support: Beyond the evident benefits, the use of Bangladesh-origin sacks also has a positive impact on the communities involved in jute cultivation and production. By choosing these sacks, businesses indirectly contribute to economic growth and support livelihoods in Bangladesh.
Aesthetic Appeal and Tradition: These sacks offer not only functional benefits but also a timeless, rustic aesthetic appeal. They bring a touch of tradition and authenticity to the commodities they hold, resonating with consumers who appreciate heritage and quality.
In conclusion, Hossain Enterprise's Bangladesh-origin cocoa, coffee, and bitter kola sacks are more than just packaging; they are enablers of a sustainable, responsible, and high-quality trade. By choosing these sacks, businesses elevate not only the standard of their products but also their commitment to environmental responsibility and global excellence. Today’s thirteen anniversary of the horrors and horrific grenade attacks in history
Today, the horrific and bloody August 21. It is a very fierce day in the memories of bloodshed and bloody political slaughter of the history. The day of bloody and bloody terrible political massacre. Death-destruction-13th anniversary of the blood-stained ornate grenade attack. The final demonstration of the political vengeance of BNP-Jamaat alliance was demonstrated this day. Haina Rupee ‘Hawa Bhawan’ Gong showed her fierce image with the intention of eliminating the power of the Liberation War from the country forever. Grenade attacks were held at the Awami League rally at Bangabandhu Avenue. But the Awami League’s rally was a peaceful assembly against terrorism and militancy. An indiscriminate shooting of civil rights was carried out on this day in 2004. Grenadine’s violent demonic terrorism causes humanity The Bengal and Bengalis’ face became dirty due to the storm of the storm. Bangabandhu Avenue Awami League’s central office premises was turned into a moment. On 21 August 2004, in protest against bomb attacks and torture in different parts of the country, Awami League president and Bangabandhu daughter, Sheikh Hasina, were killed in a grenade attack by the BNP-Jamaat alliance government, organized by Bangladesh Awami League in Bangabandhu Avenue, protesting against the BNP-Jamaat alliance government. And shoot the ball There are allegations. Present Chief Minister Sheikh Hasina’s bodyguard was the bodyguard of Kushtia. He saved the life of Sheikh Hasina on her own day. In this sense, the well-planned attack was aimed at leading the Awami League, who led the country’s liberation war and carrying the flag of non-communal democratic ideology, to lead it out and destroy it.
The grenade attack on August 21, 2004 was not an exhaustive event. It was the 75th edition of the 75th of August. Its goal was to empower the independence of the Awami League and the Liberation War to free the leadership forever. The person responsible for the grenade attack should immediately seek out and take exemplary punishment. Otherwise, anti-liberation militant vultures will attack again. The map of this country will be wounded, the red-green flag of blood collected by millions of martyrs will be blood-red. That day the grenade has violent demonic terrorism to humanity. Remembering the day of the horrific horror carnage, the book still shakes. Thirteenth grenade blast was created by a nirvanaan bandha Bangabandhu Avenue central office premises of Awami League. That day, in spite of the grenade attack, the place was turned into a dying place. In the grenade attack on 21st August, the martyrdom of the martyrs, body parts and brain tornado, bloody body, unusual and awkward tongue, no legs, no body, there are no body in the brain, we have seen newspapers and newspapers in newspapers. Without the support of the BNP-Jamaat alliance and the help of the supporters of independence of the defeated enemy, the barbarism of communal militant groups can take the form of a hayena, there is no way to understand the pictures. Awami League female affairs secretary women leader Ivy Rahman and 24 leaders and workers, including the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, were killed in this brutal attack, while the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina survived the brutal attacks of the violent snakes and the brutal attacks of the leaders and workers of the humanitarian and most benevolent God.
In this attack, more and more injured Awami League leaders and workers supporters and ordinary people. Many of them are paralyzed for life today and living their lives. Nine years have passed but the intensity of their hardships has not diminished. The body of many people wound-pitted, patchwork, on the whole hand and hands. Still, the grenade’s grenade can not be said to anyone. They can not sleep at night after eating sleeping medicine. Ahad, one of the only demands of the surviving grenade attack, was to be executed by hanging those murderers and those who were behind them. The claim that several female leaders were vulnerable to death in the grenade attack on August 21, when the death toll was cut by death
Even though the case was filed in the case, the trial was not completed even today. In all, there was a kind of long-term stance in the proceedings of the grenade attack in the disgusting. Of the 52 accused in the case, the number of accused is 49 due to death due to death. Among them, BNP leader Tarique Rahman, Harish Chowdhury, former BNP MP Kazi Shah Moazzem Hossain Kaikobad, owner of Hanif Enterprise. Hanif, former deputy commissioner of DMP (East) Obaidur Rahman, former DMP (South) Khan Saeed Hasan, DMP Colonel (retd) Saiful Islam Joardar, Major General (retd) ATM Amin, 18 people including grenade suppliers Maulana Tajuddin are absconding. Red Nomination has been issued by Interpol for giving them away. On the other hand, former State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar, former Director General of the Directorate General of Military Detectives Rezzakul Haider, former Director General of National Security Intelligence Abdur Rahim, and former Deputy Minister Abdus Salam Pintu are among the 22 accused in the sensational case. In another case involving war crimes, Jamaat secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, militant leader Mufti Hannan and JMB Member Shahidul Alam Bipta were sentenced to death, as the trial of 22 accused is going on.
Today, the hopes of the people in the horrific grenade attack on the 13th anniversary of the massacre are the true findings of this heinous massacre. Actual wedge .

Student Story: Fahmi QTemps
Fahmi Hossain, BA Marketing and Management, 2016-2019
Why did you decide to look for a job through QTemps as opposed to using another recruitment agency?
I learnt about QTemps as newsletters and temporary roles were advertised by Careers & Enterprise and SBM, exclusively to Queen Mary students and graduates. Due to the agency existing within Queen Mary internally, I had a close connection. Not only was the recruitment process as simple as providing a CV and attending interviews, but the support provided by QTemps staff was beyond incredible.
What does your role involve day to day?
As the Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the Director of Marketing and Communications, my day to day role involved a lot of operational tasks. Although the feeling of being overwhelmed in the first few days, I had the opportunity to shape my administrative skillset. As the first point of contact for the Director, I was involved in ensuring a high level of diary management through liaising with PAs, seniors and internal stakeholders across departments and schools, if not with people external to Queen Mary.
My role also involved finance and budgeting responsibilities. I processed invoice payments through liaising with internal Finance teams such as Accounts Payable and Procurement, and external stakeholders/suppliers. I was also involved in setting up new suppliers and processed monthly expenses statements for the Director. I organised important events such as directorate meetings and forums consisting of 70+ people, all from Marketing and Communications, and ensured smooth running through cooperation with Estates, catering and IT services.
What do you enjoy the most in your day-to-day activities?
One of the things I enjoyed the most was having amazing people around me. Having worked as a PR Communications Intern within the same department over the summer, I already knew most of the people. Hence, it was like going back to the same supportive team that I had already worked with. Having performed a grade 4 role previously done by two people, I would have not got through if it wasn’t for the massive, constant and genuine support received by my colleagues.
In terms of the activities, I loved organising interviews for different roles. In fact, I received compliments from one of the panel members (senior academic) who shown gratitude towards the smooth running of interviews and interview packs that I had prepared and managed.
How do you think you can use the skills and experience from this job in your future Profession?
Since the role involved countless administrative tasks and a high level of responsibility for taking care of the Director and the Directorate in an efficient and effective way, I have learnt to be resilient, patient and positive. These three qualities will come to use in whichever field I become part of in the future. What’s most important is that I had the opportunity to gain valuable experience within one month after graduation – I would have not gained such professional (office job) experience so quickly if not thanks to Queen Mary and QTemps. In fact, not even one week after completing this role, I started working for another company within the marketing field (my initial goal).
What advice would you give to any students/ graduates who are thinking about applying for a role with QTemps?
I would advise any student/graduate to exploit any role provided by QTemps as much as you can, regardless of whether it matches and reflects your degree subject. As the name itself says, QTemps’ roles are short-term and temporary, you can take on these roles as a student or soon after graduating. It is a great way of gaining professional experience within a Russell Group university well-reputed locally and globally – no matter the length of the role, it will always stand out on your CV. So, make use of any extremely valuable and rewarding experience offered by QTemps and secure yourself a career.
