Okay, random Amphibia AU! Because I’m bored and ideas keep coming.

Anne accepts the title of Guardian, thinking it’s no big deal, and that she’ll be able to watch over everyone from both worlds. The Guardian tells her to not interfere with the mortal realm, but mortal smortal, amiright? Anne doesn’t come down, unfortunately, but she watches from a distance. She keeps to herself, tending to other worlds until life flourishes, but when she’s not, she goes back to Amphibia to watch Sasha, Marcy, the Planters, and the others. Although, when Hop Pop dies, it finally dawns on her;

She’ll have to watch them all die.

She tries to tell herself that they’re in a better place, that she knew it would happen, and forces those thoughts out of her head, but they kept coming back. She forced herself to look away from that world and work on others.

And yet, she finds herself crawling back out of curiosity. Wondering how things are going, only to see Sasha sitting on her death bed with Marcy, and the remaining Planters by her side.

Refusing to accept this, Anne turns away, unable to watch. The sight causes her powers to activate, and almost out of instinct, she uses them and the fragment of time and space starts to collapse on itself. She tries to keep it all together, but it breaks and cracks everywhere before Anne is tossed into a void.

When she opens her eyes, she’s back at the beginning, where everything changed. The moment where she opened the box. Sasha and Marcy wait patiently by her side, waiting for her to open her gift. The two of them egg her on, and she can’t resist. She opens the box and she finds herself alone and soaked in mud with the box and her bag not too far from her.

Confused, Anne closes her eyes and tries to use her powers, and luckily they still work. She doesn’t feel different either. Calamity power’s would be harder to use if she had just gotten here. (She still has her god powers, yes.)

The first time through (aka the second) Anne goes through the original, canon series, and she starts to notice things she’s never noticed before. She starts to see the signs that were obvious now, but she was oblivious to them back then. (oh yeah, when she defeats the Core, she basically “revives” herself cuz the Guardian isn’t here anymore, that’s the only thing that’s changed). When the story ends, before the timeskip, Anne stops Sasha and Marcy in front of the portal and apologizes before activating her powers again and the world starts to break and crack around them. Everyone’s confused and scared, including Marcy and Sasha, but Anne just says;

“I can’t lose this again,”

When Anne opens her eyes, her flower crown is gone, and she’s sitting on the swing with the box in her hands. Sasha and Marcy patiently wait next to her, waiting for her to open her gift. When she does, she’s back in the mud with her bag and box nearby. Back at the beginning.

I actually really love this idea. If you think about it, Anne will eventually realize she can change her choices for different outcomes, which could lead to AU’s others have created with its own little twist on it. All of them would end the same way, Anne erasing that world and going back to the beginning. Maybe she does it earlier if she doesn’t like where things are going.

As long as she keeps her friends and found family alive, she really doesn’t care. Will she get tired of the same story over and over and over again? Maybe. Maybe she’ll get desperate for something new, even if it involves murder.

Maybe this entire situation will drive her insane and she takes over the world or something. I would pay to read this lol.

Anne is initially rather shocked that you landed in Beatrix’s tower, especially because you now know how to fight

Since you landed in Beatrix’s tower, you were a bit more brutal and skilled because she taught you how to fight and such

Anne thinks you’re super cool, and she’s glad that her girlfriend didn’t die/get injured in Amphibia

Anne is super proud of you and will definitely be super happy once she’s reunited with you

Anne would probably cry as well considering the fact that she hasn’t seen her beloved girlfriend in months

Anne is a tad bit nervous while introducing you to the planters, but Hop Pop, Polly, and Sprig were very accepting and excited to meet you

While the Planters were still rather reluctant to trust you considering what happened with Sasha and the fact that you’re also in a toad army, they would want to trust Anne’s judgement

Anne probably rambled about you to the Planters and saying how awesome her girlfriend is

Sprig is rather jealous of you because of all the attention you’re receiving from Anne, but if you make it a point to spend time with him to then he’ll like you a lot more

You, Sprig, and Anne will probably because best friends and Polly will adore you because of your cool toad armor and weapons

Anne will probably spend most of the time watching movies/tv shows she downloaded on her phone with you while resting on her bed in the basement

I feel like Anne might get a bit of separation anxiety because you were gone for so long, and would be extra clingy

Anne was clingy before she arrived in Amphibia, but now she’s 10x more clingy and feels the need to protect you despite you knowing how to defend yourself

I have an idea for your Apex Calamity AU. Were when the Planters and Anne arrive on earth. Anne is still a heron but she is now the size of a real life one. The Planters even get shrunken down to real life frogs. So now its up the Anne’s parents to help out, their daughter who is now a heron, but also help out her frog family.

Head canons

-The Planters are really scared because they are seeing giants that are dwarfing Anne. Because my head canon is that Anne never told the Planters she was a human or even what a human is.

-So Anne grabs the Planters and flies to her house. When they get there, Anne reveals that she was a human. Although it was a bit hard due to not having the ability to talk. So she had to point at the pictures of her human appearance.

-When Mr and Ms Boonchuy saw a heron in their backyard. They were gonna just shrug it off and go back to what they were doing. Except the heron was acting strange and its behavior felt too familiar.

-When the two even went outside, the heron didn’t fly away or even moved at all.

-Before they could even say anything. Three frogs hopped in front of them. Although these frogs were no ordinary trio of frogs. They stood on two legs, wore clothes, and even have hair. Except the most shocking and most predictable thing they did… was that they talked.

-The orange frog who called himself Hoppidia Planter said this.

Hop Pop, with a calm and blunt voice: Hi I’m Hoppidia Planter and these are my grandchilderen Sprig and Polly Planter. We a from an alternate universe were we live in a medieval or sci-fi society, I think, I’m not really sure now. Also this is your daughter she is a heron now.

Sprig with a calm, blunt, and oblivious : We’ve had two seasons worth of character development and trauma. Were like a family, except one of those family members are a dangerous species of predator to us.

Polly with a blunt voice, while looking at the 4th wall: She can go super saiyan.

-Anne is now in a worried look, regretting this.

-But due to seeing and hearing... THAT. Their eyes were widen and bulging out to a point where it looked like they’ll will fall out. Their jaws were hanging down the breaking point of logic. Even though no scream came out… their souls did.

-Then they turned around to go inside, when they reached the door they turned around but with different faces. Faces of the purest of joy and innocent's. With their eyes now closed but in a calm and delightful manner. Their smiles were in so perfect that it was better than even the gods themselves, and teeth so clean that a vampire could see their own reflection on it.

-Anne’s parents responded with only these worlds.

Ms Boonchuy in a calmingly disguised voice: Anne sweetie please wait here we’ll be right back.

Mr Boonchuy in a calmingly disguised voice: You too Planters.

-When Anne’s parents went inside. It goes back to Anne and the Planters. With Anne having a beyond worried expression and widen eyes. Although the Planters each have oblivious and calm smiles as is nothing bad happened.

Hop Pop with a calm and normal voice: That went extremely well.

Sprig with a calm and normal voice: yeah they were so calm, nice, and have unique facial expressions.

Polly with a calm and normal voice: Yeah I thought they would blow up or something.

-Anne is hiding her head in her wings.

-Meanwhile inside the house Anne’s mom ran to the kitchen quietly, and started rummaging through the all the food for expiration dates HOPING she found something that cause talking fairy frogs to appear saying that their daughter got turned into a bird.

-Meanwhile Anne’s father was literally screaming at a DVD copy of The Boy and the Heron, because they watched that movie last night.

Anne’s Father: WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME.

-After sadly finding out that this is not dream or even an allusion. Anne’s parents calmed down and accepted this.

-Things go way differently in this scenario than in canon.

One: Due to the Planters being the size of actual frogs. Anne’s parents got a tank for them to live. Because Domino will try to eat them and it helps them blend in.

Two: Anne and Domino are sadly not on good terms. Because Domino doesn’t recognize her. It broke Anne’s heart.

Three: Agent X (sorry if I butchered the name) is an animal protectionist instead. Because Anne is an endangered or rare species of heron. Also I’m pretty sure it's illegal to own a heron. Even the Planters aren't safe because even though they pretend to be ones. X only wants them because they’re actually endangered species of frogs that exist.

Three: I like this idea that in this AU, that Amphibia is way smaller. Because all the animals are in their accurate size of their real life counterparts, like the amphibians. The Frobots are basically action figures to humans. So the Core and Andrias have to double their Frobots size.

You don’t have to use these idea and sorry if the writing is bad. I really like this AU, so I hope you like some of these ideas. I’m fine if you use these and I will respect that. Work hard and take your time.👍

Love the enthousiasm! But I regret to say I already have a rough idea for how I want the story to play out. And the girls get turned back into humans (everyone is canon sized) the moment they recharge their gems.

Still, it could be a fun thought to share and play with. Love me some frog-sized Plantars AUs.

I just had an idea for an amphibia au

Sasha and Anne swap starting locations (sasha in wartwood/anne in toad tower)

Sasha ends up waiting to go to the lake like in best fronds, and does her whole manipulation thing, but seeing Sprig almost get killed makes her question her actions. Over the course of her stay (Season 1) she learns from her froggy family and neighbors how to be a better person, closer to how she was in Season 3b.

Anne, on the other hand, is stuck in the dingy, decrepit toad tower with Grime. The toads take the box from anne, but have no idea how to use it, and neither does Anne. The longer she stays, the more she starts to resent Sasha for "making her" steal the box and her getting her trapped. Eventually, the herons attack, and Anne actually helps fend them off after they attack her cell. This impresses grime and says that he might let her go and give the box back if she works for him, Anne agrees and is recruited into the army. This is no partnership however, and the harsh military environment only makes Anne more vindictive and cruel.

The toads find out about Sasha after toad tax and thing lead up to reunion. Sasha is thrilled to see her friend again, and Anne appears to be too, though it feels a bit disingenuous. Same old party trap to execute Hop Pop, and we end up at the top of the tower. Anne is surprised that Sasha would do so much for these frogs but tells her to drop the act and join her and the toads. Sasha looks back at the frogs and refuses to give them up.

Anne is exasperated, "You don't actually 'care' for these things, do you? Listen here Sash your going to come over here and leave those country bumkins, END OF DISCUSSION."

Sasha is taken aback, "Anne, what happened to you?"

"What do you mean?" Anne says." I'm only doing what you would do.

"I would never do something like that."

"THEN WHAT WERE YOU DOING WHEN YOU FORCED ME TO STEAL THE FROGGING BOX!"

Silence...

"I just wanted to go home to my parents, but no, YOU made me skip class, YOU made me graffiti the wall and steal a shopping cart, and it was YOU who made me take the box that got us stuck here!"

"I'm sorry, Anne, I really am. But I'm not going to let my friends down, not again."

Fight ensues, Sasha has the upper hand, but Anne lands a clean cut on her face, and she falters. Then the Boomshrooms go off, Sasha catches Anne, Anne trys to take her down with her, Planters catch Sasha, Grime catches Anne, Toads leave, cue depression.

Its weird that despite the plantars being presented as annes first true friends, they can be rather toxic to her at times

I mean, are we just gonna ignore children of the spores? Hop pop brainwashed his grandkids! For a model boat! But since he’s supposed to be annes healthy friendship, the show just sweeps it under the rug.

And then there’s season 3a, where the plantars reduce anne to their babysitter, dump all of the work getting them back home, and act like sociopaths by goofy off, not caring that all of their friends are in danger. If sasha and marcy did this, it would be seen as toxic, but since its the plantars, its fine.

This is why i vastly prefer the trios relationship. Because at least they’re meant to be toxic, and work through there issues. The plantars just get excused for there bad behavior, simply because the show needs them to be “annes first true friends”

Its been so long for me and Amphibia that I forgot about 'Children Of The Spores' existence, but after looking up the episode to refresh my memory...dear god, is a summary of my feelings. It truly earns a spot on a list I call, 'episodes where the adults act shitty to the kids but its waved away somehow cause the kids misbehaved', because look, are the kids annoying in this episode? Yeah, a little. But uh, to straight up knowingly brainwash them so they do as Hop Pop says just so he can work on a model boat??? What the fuck??? Somehow out-doing Abuela from Cassagrandes here with bad adult figure moments. And don't get me started on Season 3A, that filler filled mess basically stalled for as long as it could and as a result, messed up the Planter's writing and made them into kids in need of babysitting that stress Anne out at times.

I mean, Sasha may at least stand a better chance if she did do some of this shit to Anne, because S3B Anne just, forgives Sasha out of nowhere basically and acts chill with her, but if it was Marcy, yeah she'd be damned, given how Anne and Sasha still talk about her even when going to rescue her. Honestly ngl, I always assumed show went about the Planters being Anne's found family then first true friends, but either way, show definitely ignored they also had issues with how they treated Anne at times.

Ever since that “incident” you honestly thought things were gonna be awkward

I mean okay, sure they were a little awkward but that was because it was an awkward nerd and another nerd who can’t keep a full conversation going

Other then that things were pretty chill although you couldn’t lie you still felt extremely guilty

I mean, sure you and Marcy didn’t kiss or anything like that but you still knew Sasha ever since you were kids even if she DID turn into maybe a psycho trying to kill one of Anne’s frog friends(?) (readers pov) you still cared about her in some way-

Recently you’ve gotten the other stones to open the calamity box and now you just had to do the last one

Which happened to be Sasha

And “Grime” or whatever according to Anne tried to kill “Hop Pop” (y/n doesn’t know the names okay 😭)

To say the least tension was in the air

With the planters and Grime and you Anne, Marcy and Sasha

It’s not like you hated her you were tense over having to end things with her, Marcy was tense due to guilt, Anne was tense due to well everything that happened

Now you took a breath in while walking out of the cave and walked over to Sasha

“That was surprisingly brave of you” you thought to yourself

“Hey Sasha…”

The blonde turned around to the h/c girl while she was talking to Grime

Grime seemed to get the message then clears his throat awkwardly

“I am not being involved in this, you can go and chat I’ll just be…..over there”

We watched him awkwardly walk away

“Sooo, Grime seems……interesting”

“Yea, Grimesy isn’t so bad once you get to know him…”

There was the awkwardnesss

You clear your throat again

You notice Sasha yawning then she notices you staring

You noticed Sasha seemed somewhat stunned by your courage but that quickly covered with rage

“Well what about the times we went to the movies i payed for everything!”

“YOU payed for the tickets i had to pay for the snacks and seats!!!”

The argument only just got longer you honestly didn’t wanna do this but honestly…..you had a lot of rage trapped inside you for years

“Okay maybe after all of that stuff, WHY did you actually dump me?”

“What…?”

“I’m not stupid y/n, there’s something your not telling me”

Ugh you knew Sasha could tell through lies as well as seeing through a telescope (bad comparison but honestly idc)

“Well, maybe it’s because i just don’t have feelings for you, ever thought of that?”

“I know that’s not it!”

“…”

“….Fine your not gonna tell me then, cool, maybe you were cheating on me and want an excuse while making it not be cheating? You were using me?! You-“

You noticed Sasha back talking to Grime and she looked at you for maybe a mil second then completely turned her head

It’s like she’s refused to even look at you

You were too caught up in your sadness to realise a certain bluettte noticed your sad frown

“Soo, do you wanna talk about it-“

You jump due to being caught up in your head you didn’t notice Marcy approaching you which resulted in her lightly giggling

“Oh! Sorry that was mean! Sorry for scaring you….heh”

“It’s….fine”

“Soo….do you wanna…..or-it’s okay really!-“

You turn your head around to see if it’s close to anyone hearing

“I’ll….tell you back here…”

You walk a bit behind the others so it’s not close to anyone except you and Marcy hearing and tell her everything

“And so then…..”

“And then?”

“I revealed i liked someone and well, I’m a horrible person….i think i hurt her…..”

“Ouch that sounds awful! For you-or her! Or well both?”

You knew Marcy had trouble deciding which “side” she should “be on” you honestly felt bad and felt she didn’t need to choose

“Um well i don’t think Sasha thinks your a horrible person maybe she was just a little mad-“

“No, i know what i did to her was wrong, i hurt her and she has every right to be upset with me but, the other stuff i just don’t want to make things awkward for you, and Anne, and stuck in Amphibia for crying out loud!”

You stop when Marcy hugs you

“You looked like you needed it-“

“No! It’s fine….i like it…”

“….”

This time it was……peaceful silence

“Sooo, when we head back wanna go eat that cake i was telling you about?”

“For the last time, I’m not eating something that may or may not have flies in them”

“Oh come onnnn!”

It was peaceful
